- 0:05podcast. It's amazing being a host on
- 0:08this amazing, amazing platform. And also the amazing so much
- 0:10times, but that's how amazing this podcast is until I believe.
- 0:14And more amazingly is having a beautiful amazing co-host,
- 0:18robottom at Coco's, a pleasure. To be here as well.
- 0:29I'm the law. How's your week been?
- 0:30Well I'm the law. Can't complain.
- 0:32And was my daughter's birthday just yesterday, today is the
- 0:36first of July and so the data recording.
- 0:39Yeah. So yesterday evening, the 30th
- 0:41of June was my daughter's fifth birthday.
- 0:43For those who don't know, you have to two daughters?
- 0:47How has the last, what? Five years?
- 0:49She's not five years old right, he's fine, she life is must be
- 0:54so. So so why life is it is exactly
- 0:58as how I am a handle on the larger is it is it fun at home
- 1:02being a dad? It's exciting because every day
- 1:05is like a different day. Yeah.
- 1:06Everything's got its own unique challenges best, it's so
- 1:10exciting. Um, I'm Della handle as well by
- 1:12yourself too. I asked you that eight quality
- 1:16all week, my weeks being good, hamdulillah work as works or
- 1:20Works been busy and yeah, it's been it's been things.
- 1:24I've been active hundred, like, things are picking up as well in
- 1:27the community, which is good to see more initiatives.
- 1:30Small Program will content from Athens big TV and obviously from
- 1:33from after Maghrib, so I'm d'lai things have been good last week.
- 1:37For those who don't know, we had a really interesting discussion
- 1:40and we talked about the concept of she out, celebrities, and she
- 1:44a celebrity status. What is where it came from?
- 1:47Does it exist? Is it bad?
- 1:49What the role models like? Are they good?
- 1:51So that whole discussion is really intriguing.
- 1:53We've had some All sorts of very varied feedback and handle about
- 1:59that discussion. So check it out.
- 2:01Do not miss out on that conversation and if you are new
- 2:03to the podcast, give us a subscription.
- 2:06Subscribe to the channel on YouTube or if you're following
- 2:09on Spotify or apple podcast or wherever you are, listening to
- 2:12follow us and obviously a five star rating with always five
- 2:16star rating along the way. But I think what's more
- 2:18important is that I want to hear from them directly as in so that
- 2:21if they can maybe contact the team after Margaret.
- 2:24Yeah. You know, slides into the ends
- 2:26of after Margaret, follow us on Instagram.
- 2:27That's the only time you can slide in the end.
- 2:30Slide into this light in the ends because it's all relates to
- 2:33this to the today's topic. So correct.
- 2:35Correct. Let's please would love to hear
- 2:37your feedback and in sha Allah, we can learn on how to improve
- 2:40because I don't know if people are both of me this, I hope you
- 2:42know about that too. I think this is been so fast of
- 2:47sleeping, really exciting. Very interesting.
- 2:49And to be honest, a, the topic today which you want to talk
- 2:52about is something which again. We always talk about sometimes,
- 2:56we think, think about it in every action we do in, you know,
- 3:01sometimes when we go out or we appear somewhere, like for
- 3:05example, on a channel like this or somewhere else, but the
- 3:08concept of social hijab is a discussion when I talk about,
- 3:12but more kind of further than that, as well.
- 3:15Not just social hijab, but a new phrase which had enough we're
- 3:18calling it for the first time but digital hijab, digital
- 3:21culture digital her job being the evolution of social So, he
- 3:25job. So it's a big topic.
- 3:27That is it's a big topic, indeed.
- 3:29And I think whoever's listening to this, I'm assuming everyone's
- 3:33ages. Are, you know, sort of I think
- 3:35just, you know, maybe 1819 going all the way to about thirties, I
- 3:39would say. Yeah, so I think it's a topic.
- 3:42That's interesting. Not just from me, being 30 as
- 3:45well. After 7:30, it was my birthday
- 3:48like on the 6th of June, that's how do you say thank you?
- 3:54My one of my in-laws birthday is coming up.
- 3:57So Good luck. And don't forget the day they
- 4:00don't listen to do very, very important.
- 4:02Yeah. But I say is interesting because
- 4:04it's something that everyone relates to and I think even when
- 4:06we were younger, I think social her job was very different to
- 4:10where it is today. And the fact you mentioned the
- 4:12words become digital. Yeah, that means things have
- 4:15moved forward, very quickly. Yeah, I think it has to be us.
- 4:18We live obviously like a postmodernist.
- 4:22Well, now and everything is very globalized.
- 4:24Everything's very technological. When we were growing up, the
- 4:27first was the first one you had. It Nakia I had I can remember
- 4:31the model I think was 3210. Yeah, they might only play snake
- 4:34on it. I mean that thing that you and I
- 4:38both and obviously now the generation growing up is kind of
- 4:43dealing with completely new variances of Knology and that's
- 4:46not just about the phone. It's what you can access through
- 4:49a phone and not just your phone of course, but digital, her job
- 4:52is coming now and all sorts of varied contexts and we even
- 4:57having to talk Who would have thought that even on a zoom
- 5:01call? Where can't, we're considering a
- 5:03job and obviously with the pandemic and working from home,
- 5:05the concept of hijab physical social.
- 5:07And all of that is, is a big discussion to have.
- 5:10But when we say social hijab, obviously there are kind of the
- 5:13obvious ones in terms of physical hijab.
- 5:15And most likely said, saying, most people think of their
- 5:17hijab, a sister wears on their head and you know, even the
- 5:21Western world or the non-muslim community will know her job to
- 5:24be that, but social hijab is probably a bit more than that,
- 5:28right? It's more than that.
- 5:29It's because it's not just about like you said having a job on
- 5:34the head. Yeah, so this is more I think of
- 5:37a male-female sort of conversation.
- 5:40Let's peek in here mostly to the male's.
- 5:42We are indeed, we're very conscious that we are.
- 5:45We're two guys here and when the brothers yeah it's game over.
- 5:49So that's not our goal. Obviously, we want to be, we
- 5:52want to be fair and we want to be representative to Target our
- 5:55own, you know, two other brothers, especially over there.
- 5:58So the lads, we call them language and inshallah.
- 6:01You know, the first paid job has been very different I can't
- 6:05speak for ladies. I just want to make that clear
- 6:07because I'm not on their shoes and I don't know exactly what
- 6:10they face or issues they have when it comes to sort of a job
- 6:12with digital her job. As you mentioned, there's as far
- 6:15as guys, I think it's mainly got to do with either how do we
- 6:19interact with the opposite gender?
- 6:20Be our work, be a school, be a university, obeah out, you know,
- 6:23even go to the supermarket, sometimes you have to deal with
- 6:25a cashier or sometimes you know, you have this sir.
- 6:28Environments and scenarios which are not comfortable for
- 6:31everyone. But some people enjoy them at
- 6:33the same time. I think it's more important to
- 6:36say that social her job. It's more about how you conduct
- 6:40yourself or how you represent yourself as a Muslim.
- 6:46So it's more than just how you look.
- 6:48So I think some more about what is your intention?
- 6:50Because a lot of people they went, when we just say, social
- 6:54her job, they just see, you know, how the acting.
- 6:57Yeah, you know. No, has he lowered his gaze?
- 6:59You don't want all of these things because I think more
- 7:01important, a bigger bigger factor is the individual himself
- 7:05and what his intention is. I think that's a very fair
- 7:07analysis, to be honest. And what you mentioned say
- 7:09there's is fascinating to me, especially about the way you
- 7:12carry yourself. Because, you know, you always
- 7:15hear in conversation about the confidence that confidence
- 7:20breeds success, and all sorts of all sorts of different
- 7:22terminologies phrases and ideologies, which route from
- 7:26the, the soul of confidence. Make sense.
- 7:30I'm for men. Confidence is a big deal.
- 7:32Your masculinity a lot of the time is found in the way you
- 7:36carry yourself and masculinity in my opinion, shouldn't be then
- 7:39defined about the results you have with your agenda and the
- 7:42success you have, you know when interacting with them as well
- 7:45because unfortunately we live now in a world where you're
- 7:47watching TV. You're watching a film where
- 7:49you're playing a game. There was always a cool
- 7:51character. For example, who has a like you
- 7:55know who wins the goal of his dreams or something like that.
- 7:58That or even who's just like got this, especially like in, you
- 8:02know, these there are films where you've got like a guy
- 8:04wearing a leather jacket, for example, when you're smoking and
- 8:07a girl walks past. And he says something slightly
- 8:09degrading, or that whole concept of social hijab is something
- 8:14we've now overlooked because we've become so accustomed to
- 8:17behavior towards your opposite gender in, especially in the
- 8:20western world where we don't think twice about it.
- 8:24So sometimes we may carry ourselves in a way, which isn't
- 8:26really appropriate. That's just what I mean by that.
- 8:28That's very true because, you know, sometimes when I'm out and
- 8:32about whether I'm going to work, whatever it is, it's very
- 8:35different to how I am when I'm in, for example, the Middle
- 8:39East, because you've got different environment, you've
- 8:42got different, shall I say? You can be placed in different
- 8:47scenarios even though there might be very similar.
- 8:49Yeah, but because there is already the concept of a job
- 8:53already in that country being majority Muslim country.
- 8:56We don't really think about these things twice.
- 8:58So it's like you already programmed to normally act a
- 9:01certain way from Singapore, act on?
- 9:03Yeah, but this is how you are a true nature, but being here in
- 9:05the west you saw your body sort of reprogrammed to How the West
- 9:09is. You know.
- 9:09And we're trying to, I think find where the line is, are not
- 9:13Crossing that line. I don't have much experience,
- 9:17has to share best shiny. For me, I can say where I faced
- 9:22obstacles. Sometimes was only when I was at
- 9:24school. So beyond beyond that, you know,
- 9:27at the workplace time delay, you can What to do, you know, when
- 9:29you go, you can choose what to do, but I only had that, you
- 9:32know, the the I wouldn't call them interactions, I will call
- 9:39them part of your studies sometimes.
- 9:41You just have to, you have to interact a speak with the
- 9:43opposite gender and that's as far as it went.
- 9:46Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:46Because I know from the brothers and the friends that I have
- 9:49there's a bigger story to this. There is 100%.
- 9:51And to be honest, this like you said, the goal of this
- 9:54conversation primarily is to discuss the role of men in the
- 9:58discussion of social hijab. Then obviously we'll talk about
- 10:01digital hijab and this is of course, to all the brothers out
- 10:04there that we need to be taking this seriously.
- 10:07We have to be conscious and we mentioned masculinity as a point
- 10:10masculinity is goes hand-in-hand with modesty.
- 10:13There's nothing to be ashamed of and especially when it comes to
- 10:16her job, we have to take more responsibility to be careful
- 10:20about who we look at and and how we're looking and so on because
- 10:23we are aware that the concept of a first glance exists.
- 10:27Yeah. Okay.
- 10:28We accept that like this as a man and even as a woman I'm sure
- 10:32the first glance at the opposite gender is something that will
- 10:36happen even if it's completely unintentional.
- 10:39But we know of course that the second the Second Glance onwards
- 10:42is not allowed, but that's where the danger begins.
- 10:45Yes, because, you know, like I said, first glance at that's
- 10:49when the you know that's when you lower your gaze, that's
- 10:51that's when you put your head down and continue your normal
- 10:54day-to-day life, best. There are people who don't know
- 10:57what they say. Is nothing.
- 10:59This is where the danger has because then the loophole and
- 11:01two-minute first glimpses. Yeah, well, they say a long, as
- 11:04long as you want, I, I've heard stories like this.
- 11:06Not sure of their true. By the way, this I've had a lot
- 11:10of things when it comes to that best.
- 11:12I think that the danger realises what you do next correct.
- 11:16Because, okay, you speaking about lowering the case, if you
- 11:19didn't know where the gays, yeah, if you're still looking,
- 11:23that means you're going to go to step two, the step two, it could
- 11:25be maybe smiling, we may be saying hi.
- 11:28And then it becomes very hard to say goodbye.
- 11:30And you know all of these things this is how they begin.
- 11:32Small small steps, this I think is all avoidable.
- 11:36Like it is olive oil, olive oil because slams angle Omega is you
- 11:40lower your gaze. You won't have this problem.
- 11:42It's avoidable but it's hard. It's as hot as men.
- 11:44There's no loss plan to Allah says in the Holy Quran, sort of
- 11:47node verse number 30, bismillahi, r-rahman, r-rahim.
- 11:50Tell the believing men to cast down their looks and guard their
- 11:54private parts for that is pure for them.
- 11:56Surely Allah subhanaw taala. Is well, acquainted, with what
- 11:59they do. I think that should be a stark
- 12:01reminder to us to be honest. That we are living in reality
- 12:05and even if we are alone, we're driving.
- 12:09We are walking past someone like you said, in a supermarket,
- 12:12where at work, or even at school or university.
- 12:14I think it's, it doesn't just apply to adults.
- 12:17I think, even if you're young and your bar look, like, it's
- 12:20the thing, we have to be aware of that.
- 12:23Last one to Allah is watching us all times, and although it is
- 12:27unavoidable. And it is difficult.
- 12:29It is achievable and I think once you go on that journey to
- 12:33in some ways try to self purify and resist, it becomes easier
- 12:38over time. Mmm, would you recommend II
- 12:41believe? It becomes easier for those who
- 12:43are married. Yeah, 100%.
- 12:45Yeah. We were talking about this
- 12:46earlier. Yeah.
- 12:47We spoke on the phone just before the podcast.
- 12:49Yeah. Just to gather each other's
- 12:51thoughts and we both agreed that marriage sort of helps you stay
- 12:56away from having All this, since it's called up since because
- 13:00they all were they, all they all I'm saying is the citizen at the
- 13:03end of the day. And the only way I think to
- 13:06prevent, you know, having any or falling into the category of
- 13:10sins, it's getting married at a young age and I think getting
- 13:13married on young age. Helps you first of all, from
- 13:16avoiding such scenarios because you're too busy being with your
- 13:19wife, vice versa as well. Pretty sure. 100% absolutely
- 13:23say. Now obviously, I know we've
- 13:26spoken off camera in the past Stand on WhatsApp, we've shared
- 13:31like kind of opinions on this but we're sorry, I'm getting
- 13:34worried. Yeah, here we go.
- 13:36This is the time where I expose you.
- 13:37So this is where we've had the private conversation.
- 13:39A lot of fun. There's no, there's no nothing
- 13:44to expose. This is good news.
- 13:46No, in the sense that we've shared a pins with each other,
- 13:49about the state of the digital world when it comes to her job.
- 13:53And for those who kind of are aware of, not just aware of
- 13:56social media because everyone's aware of social.
- 13:58But we're of the changing Trends in social media, you will come
- 14:01to realize that the social media platforms and algorithms and
- 14:06social media will boost and promote kind of content, which
- 14:10in many ways, contradicts Islamic values.
- 14:12So, for example, things, which are likeable, and clickable, and
- 14:15viral are things which sometimes are immoral or sometimes things
- 14:20were just so shocking to the human eye that they can't take
- 14:24their eyes off it and a lot of the time that falls into the
- 14:27category of things Which aren't good to look at on social media
- 14:30and things, which are easily accessible.
- 14:33Would you reckon? I believe that what you have
- 14:36just said something that even though we spoke briefly about on
- 14:40the phone I'm thinking of it right now.
- 14:42Yeah. And you're very right, because
- 14:46when I first started off on Instagram I can remember.
- 14:51I was like, you get to see what other people like.
- 14:54You get to see what who followed who and used to always give you
- 14:57like this. So you always solve, you know,
- 14:59back in the day. Yeah, this is like everything
- 15:01went to shit, started 14 a lot. Not sure of the year.
- 15:04There's that was pretty much it and then things changed.
- 15:07Next thing, there was this like explore page and then now you're
- 15:10open to a complete different world.
- 15:12Yeah. So you're no longer seeing what
- 15:14you and your community table to niacin what the world is up to,
- 15:16and the world is in a complete mess, even now I don't want to
- 15:22promote the platform this by year ago, open Tick-Tock.
- 15:26Yeah, she was all about and I was scared to open that because
- 15:29you never open that things are inappropriate, just pop up.
- 15:33And yeah, it just happens that handle of the algorithm has
- 15:36improved and the only see, why want to see best.
- 15:39This is what people are seeing and they to date.
- 15:41Like yeah, it's working as well because that content sometimes
- 15:44is forced upon you and you can't do anything about it.
- 15:47And you have at least for example, on I don't say at least
- 15:50but They're all social media platforms where you will see
- 15:53what you, what you choose to see.
- 15:55For example, you can control who you follow or friends, you have
- 15:59on the app and so on. But of course, there are apps.
- 16:02Like Tick-Tock follow us on Tick-Tock after monopod glass.
- 16:06Yeah. No.
- 16:07But there are apps like Tick-Tock of course which are
- 16:10which are, which are, which, you know, pose the same threat and
- 16:13not just the content we see on Tick Tock, but also the people
- 16:17and the way they behave on Technical and particularly we're
- 16:20talking about About Muslims here.
- 16:21Yeah. See I have a lot to say but I'm
- 16:24scared. I might not sound like I might
- 16:26have, I might sound like someone who just judges people know,
- 16:29we're not just less than all honesty.
- 16:31If you pull yourself out there, it's your fault.
- 16:34Your dad to be a judge. At the end of the day.
- 16:37The things we see our own brothers sisters, you know, how
- 16:40they, you know, you know it's called Trends.
- 16:44Now, people do some ridiculous things, other nervous for the
- 16:47views are, what know, the sake of becoming viral the sake of
- 16:49becoming viral. All the best.
- 16:51It's it's it's destroyed social my job completely, there's is
- 16:56like if there if there ever was a curtain Maybe two, three years
- 16:59ago, there was a partial cards and now they're just like so
- 17:02perverse before. I remember like the majority of
- 17:05accounts were like private accounts.
- 17:06Yeah. So you can really follow anyone
- 17:08or no follow you. But now, I mean, I'll be honest
- 17:12with you said, I've downloaded Tick-Tock the last month or so
- 17:17because of obviously the podcast.
- 17:19Yes. And because of another thing I'm
- 17:21involved with, for work, for that, for that organization, or
- 17:25that company page as well. I have a tick tock But I
- 17:29personally I haven't thank God like I don't see the point of
- 17:33it. I haven't got into it, like it
- 17:34doesn't really intrigued me. But from what I have seen there
- 17:38is all sorts of content on there and it's not just Tick-Tock, by
- 17:41the way, it's also Instagram. I think there's a big, there's a
- 17:43big culture within our community and just, you know, it's very
- 17:47much infiltrated by wider Society.
- 17:50So for example, I think I mentioned this to you.
- 17:54There's a culture for men and boys to go on Lads holiday.
- 17:58As yes and post pictures, for example, wearing vests or shorts
- 18:03or wearing, you know, LA Lakers basketball tops.
- 18:07Yes. You know what I mean?
- 18:08And by top, some invests, right? That kind of thing in my opinion
- 18:13is wrong. Is yeah, it's not permitted,
- 18:14it's not allowed, it's it's wrong.
- 18:17I think, because c 1 or Scholars.
- 18:20Let's just, yeah, just so I I, I don't want to speak as if I'm
- 18:25speaking on behalf of the religion of Islam or, you know,
- 18:28me Motherfucker rulings best. I believe it's the start of what
- 18:32becomes even. So if you're willing to show
- 18:35yourself in a vest, yeah you know if you're willing to show
- 18:37yourself I don't know and it shorts and all of our online
- 18:40posting gaming. Happy about it.
- 18:43It's only going to lead to even worse things.
- 18:45Hmm. Because next time you more than
- 18:47happy to maybe now take off that list.
- 18:49Yeah and plus the picture is a big thing in the u.s. it is a
- 18:52big thing like I'm not judging anyone honest-to-god best.
- 18:55I this is this is like you are sewing your own seeds.
- 18:58And then you're going to reap what you thought.
- 19:00So if I'm not talking about you directly, I'm talking about the
- 19:03future Community the future generation, it could be your
- 19:05children, could be your kids could be your nieces, your
- 19:07nephews, wherever they are. They're going to look up to you
- 19:09and they're going to see, I'm more eggs or Hollow X is doing
- 19:12this correct. What's it going to tell them?
- 19:14They can tell them is normal. My phone is ringing.
- 19:15By the way, I have to do. Put on silent.
- 19:17Yeah. Oh good.
- 19:18But I think at the same time so it as well.
- 19:20It also puts someone. And the reason why I'm against
- 19:23it is, I think when you've gone through, let's be real, like I'm
- 19:28definitely not. Infallible by finding his.
- 19:31I'm not not a great example to many, but one thing I do know is
- 19:35that I have I have changed a lot in a personal capacity over the
- 19:39last 10 years or so. And they'll handle archive, I
- 19:42think I'm at a stage now where I have more conscious
- 19:45Consciousness over my digital presence and my my kind of this,
- 19:50the circle, I keeping someone online.
- 19:52And a big part of it is when you post pictures, which are maybe
- 19:56not appropriate from a fiscal perspective or even just Moral
- 19:59perspective, you are putting yourself at risk of being
- 20:03interacted with and interacting with others.
- 20:06So for example, you post a good looking picture in the gym or as
- 20:09a guy you post a good looking picture in a selfie mirror
- 20:13mirror selfie or something like that or whatever it is.
- 20:15These things are very common and you know, I follow hundreds of
- 20:20guys, many of them. Probably going to rinse me after
- 20:22this but I follow so many people and I scroll past this once a
- 20:26day and you know, a lot of the time they're good people.
- 20:28We know brothers and sisters with by specially Brothers
- 20:31within the community who we interact with.
- 20:34We pray with it, we study with and so on but these things in my
- 20:38opinion on one level too far and it puts them at risk of being
- 20:41deemed by a girl or being judged by their own Community, which is
- 20:46obviously at detriment to their own reputation.
- 20:48Yeah. So yeah, I'm not a fan.
- 20:52Yeah. I mean, I don't want to say what
- 20:55they're doing is Haram, okay? I don't think there's a scene
- 21:00and taken a selfie in the mirror.
- 21:01For example. No might be joking though.
- 21:03We're joking about this. Notice this is because at the
- 21:07end of the day I think is the intention like.
- 21:12Now if you're posting topless photos, that's between you and
- 21:14God right now, it's it's not written.
- 21:16All right I'm not going to talk about that.
- 21:17Yeah yeah you know there's certain people that they are
- 21:20holiday the show they have a good time.
- 21:22The you know the the in the beach, the showing of The biceps
- 21:25however is all of this is going to lead to something you're
- 21:28going to Right. And that you could be the fault
- 21:31of someone from the opposite gender saying, oh look at his
- 21:35biceps femoris. You my share it, to our friend
- 21:37and say hey I just saw this guy on the Eastern Beach having fun
- 21:40in Dubai for example machine the bike because it's Nova beaches.
- 21:43Yes. Common destination, one
- 21:45destination for many of our brothers because you know,
- 21:48Muslim country, halal food. All of that has got that
- 21:50environment. But as have doesn't have any
- 21:53spiritual spirituality, I must say, I've never been, I'll be
- 21:57honest, I've been a few times Ben.
- 21:59And some say, I'm lucky. So I think you're missing out
- 22:02best. You'd rather go to Z are at
- 22:04this. Tenacious, I guarantee you that.
- 22:08So I don't feel like it's them saying.
- 22:10Hey, look at me, you know, as my biceps it's happening indirectly
- 22:15because it's become normal. Yeah.
- 22:17Now 56 years ago, had had someone who's poor a picture of
- 22:22his what they call was that team a label or the called Lakers
- 22:26Lakers don't ask me as a yellow color.
- 22:28Orange? That's about as far as it goes.
- 22:30Let's just say Lakers for Yang for names.
- 22:33I don't think five years ago, six years ago, they would have
- 22:35uploaded a photo them wearing the vest on the beach for
- 22:37example because it wasn't normal.
- 22:40Okay wasn't now it's normal. Now we have it in a fashion
- 22:44sense or normal to Muslims, right?
- 22:47I see. Okay.
- 22:48You know I need that one. Why I said early on, I was like
- 22:51we have the curtain. Then there was like this partial
- 22:53curtain and now the curtain is just wide open and it's become
- 22:58normal. Whoa, and a lot of it.
- 22:59I believe this is my personal from things.
- 23:02I see. I think it's not an appearance.
- 23:05Yeah, any yeah. We spoke on the phone at the
- 23:07mission, the spot, but because I don't want to be judgmental and
- 23:11say, it's your mama dog. That's fault.
- 23:13Because I think a lot of her plays your parents anyway, I
- 23:16know parents who are amazing, people God-fearing people, you
- 23:22know, they raise their kids in such an amazing way, but when it
- 23:25comes to things like this with their sons, They don't get
- 23:29involved, like, if my son's interacting with the opposite
- 23:33gender on social media, none of my business, none of my
- 23:36business. If my son's going out to a
- 23:37shisha Cafe and is mixed with females, none of my business,
- 23:42what's the reasoning, your body? You can borrow it so Jackman.
- 23:46So he'll grow our, this will get married will stop eventually.
- 23:50Yeah, it's the mentality. They have Jesus cultural, do you
- 23:53think culture plays a part in that?
- 23:54I addressed. It may depending on where you
- 23:58are. Room, because I'm speaking on
- 24:01behalf of the Rockies. Mmm.
- 24:03Yeah. I need depends where y'all from
- 24:04Iraq. Some things are normal.
- 24:05Things are not normal this. The parents themselves known
- 24:09that this is not right. And they're not saying anything
- 24:11about it. I know people like I'm saying
- 24:14this because I have friends of Paris, really don't care.
- 24:17I've had so many stories like this as well.
- 24:19And to be honest, I've heard that obviously within certain
- 24:22communities, parents will judge their daughters with more.
- 24:28A harshness. And then their sons and they'll
- 24:30say, the sons will get married, they'll grab it and they'll
- 24:32mature women, the girls, our daughters, they get mature
- 24:37younger, they should be doing the right thing, otherwise, no
- 24:39guy, I want to marry them, but guys, it's okay.
- 24:42No, that's unacceptable entirely unacceptable and I'm sure to be
- 24:45honest inshallah, you know, a lot of, a lot of the, the
- 24:48younger parents today. You know, we'll have a different
- 24:51mindset when it comes to this, and a lot of us have grown up in
- 24:54this Society. I mean, and not, that makes a
- 24:57difference. But you will have more of an
- 24:59understanding of the equality and Equity between men and women
- 25:03in the day and age. We live in now compared to,
- 25:04obviously, in different parts of the world where our forefathers
- 25:07were. But a big part of the state is
- 25:10well is not just posting content, but engaging
- 25:15instruction. Do you see what I mean?
- 25:16The kind of behind the scenes as well because it's very easy on
- 25:19Snapchat to reply to a story. For example, just as an example
- 25:25you're in school and it's a sister post something about like
- 25:28I don't know. No her class.
- 25:29Or you know how much they hate maths.
- 25:32Homework is very easy. As a guy to say oh I'm going to
- 25:35apply to her. We're talking about homework,
- 25:37it's Halal, she's so, I mean, she's a classmate with strictly
- 25:41acquaintances and that's the scary thing.
- 25:43Because, yeah, if it's, if it's, when I say, is it normal?
- 25:48Of course, it's normal to tell your friends.
- 25:49I'm doing homework or whatnot. Yeah, the fact that it's public.
- 25:53That means the opposite gender seeing this and the opposite
- 25:56gender, you know, maybe he Have any wrong intentions, right.
- 26:01But that's the beginning of something.
- 26:03Because that that pure intention, let's say, can change
- 26:08shape on exists. We all know.
- 26:09Satan is Hayes Whispering, whether you believe it or not.
- 26:13Some people. If you guys can hear the
- 26:15seagulls outside, I can hear the seagulls.
- 26:16Yeah, the only thing they'd like to say to me when on the beach,
- 26:21by the way. It's not reaching the by the
- 26:24beach. Yeah but but when she is posting
- 26:27that store Three on Snapchat that she and her account is open
- 26:32to everyone. Yeah, you know, by I don't know
- 26:34how the privacy settings work on on Snapchat.
- 26:37Yeah, so I'm not sure where it is now.
- 26:40Like I was I was a big Snapchat user back in the day.
- 26:43Yeah. And but I I know it's changed.
- 26:46No idea. Now you can have anyone at you.
- 26:49I think it recommends, you other people it does.
- 26:51And this is where the danger happens.
- 26:53Is that for you. You've uploaded a story of using
- 26:55your homework. Something so innocent.
- 26:57Yeah. And it's just for you and your
- 26:58Because your account is no public.
- 27:00Your account is no private. Sorry, what happens.
- 27:02Someone has recommended you snapshot has shed.
- 27:05Yeah. And then lll is just those three
- 27:09letters long, good luck, you know, blah blah, blah.
- 27:12And that's where it begins. Yeah, I think as well as that is
- 27:15it's we have to remember that resisting the that we can go for
- 27:18ages. Yeah.
- 27:19Okay. There's so many examples cases.
- 27:21You talked about shisha cafes which I really wanted to talk
- 27:24about. Let's talk, you know, let's talk
- 27:25about your phase. Yeah, let's talk about, let's be
- 27:27real first thing. I'm Going to say is that none of
- 27:31us went on, don't think she's just marking you, we're not
- 27:33endorsing it but at the same time it's a huge culture
- 27:36existing within our generation, Our Friend circles.
- 27:40So you know we're we're you know it's something we see a lot of
- 27:44and like, I'm going to say like out, you know up front, I have
- 27:49I've been in an environment where people smoking shisha as
- 27:53well and it's very easy to be in an environment and to come
- 27:58across The wrong sort of people ought to be put in a put at
- 28:01risk. For example, engaging with the
- 28:03opposite gender, you could be for example, smoking shisha.
- 28:07And you're with your boys and you're strictly having a Halal
- 28:09discussion and the sister walks in or a number of sisters or you
- 28:13know, whatever it is and someone catches your eye.
- 28:16Now, the question is not what were you saying?
- 28:18I can't accidentally see a sister.
- 28:21I'm speaking to Brothers. No, the point is, is, are you in
- 28:24the position or are you in a place, which is putting you at
- 28:27risk of doing an act of halal? If you're in an environment like
- 28:30that you shouldn't be there in the first place.
- 28:31If it's going to give you the risk of it you.
- 28:33So I'm saying so we're talking obviously we're going back to
- 28:35the physical Point. I've had job instead of digital,
- 28:38but for example, if you're in a place where music is playing
- 28:40alcohol is served and it's a very, very mixed and very young
- 28:46and Youthful Urban environment, you're going to come across
- 28:49people who you wouldn't push up to you.
- 28:51Wouldn't for example, be happy. If your brother - sister like
- 28:54that or your sister married, a guy like that, just what I mean,
- 28:57you'd rather be in an environment or a Think of see
- 28:59where you're not smoking shisha as an ideal, but where you are
- 29:02having that healthy discussion but, you know, sit with your
- 29:05friends, after Maghrib, have chai and relax.
- 29:08I mean, just what I mean. So, with your friends listen to
- 29:11after my, this is awesome. Okay.
- 29:12And what, I think what we're trying to say about this is a
- 29:14home is that concept of putting yourself even if you're not
- 29:18intending to do harm? But you're physically entering a
- 29:21Zone where you might be at risk of it.
- 29:23It's the same, it's the same as entering a zone of social media
- 29:27and you're putting yourself. Life at risk and you've content
- 29:30is forced on you. Even if you don't volunteer that
- 29:32information upon yourself and you know, at times you have
- 29:35you're forced to interact with it.
- 29:36But I mean speaking about you shake a face.
- 29:39Yeah. And all the points you just
- 29:42mentioned. Like it's something.
- 29:44I think not just me and you agree with I think everyone's
- 29:47listening to this podcast can agree with because I think
- 29:50everyone has experienced this. Yeah.
- 29:53You know you go to again I'm not, you know promoting any time
- 29:58Companies are here but like you said, it's in the cold shot.
- 30:01Yeah. Well that's good.
- 30:03Or bad is happening. People are going to shake a face
- 30:06and I used to be someone that used to go quite often.
- 30:09That's the let me say as is calm Everything's changed stopped
- 30:14having to spend more time at home away from any shisha
- 30:19smoking. Yes.
- 30:20Back in the day for us. What was as and Halal
- 30:24environment to us. What's going out with the boys,
- 30:27correct? Sitting down talking, having
- 30:30tea, smoking shisha? Yes, correct.
- 30:32And the beautiful thing about it back in a day is not like we
- 30:35were just going out having fun. And it was like, we were
- 30:39actually go and have like meaningful.
- 30:40This. Yeah.
- 30:41Entrepot sister, Godlike. We will discuss religion, be
- 30:44substantially, like that will. That's what was the most
- 30:48enjoyable thing about shisha cafes.
- 30:50Yeah, back then. Yeah, you're right now.
- 30:52I do not want to stop step foot on any of them because now I can
- 30:55tell Difference. But realistically between a club
- 30:59and she Kathy. Yeah, things have changed.
- 31:03Why? Because of digital high jump,
- 31:05mmm, social media. When I start promoting all these
- 31:08businesses, all these new amazing shisha places and
- 31:12venues. People like, I know, Brothers,
- 31:17used to say, let's go to this Cafe because it's quiet.
- 31:21Yeah. And then also new brothers who
- 31:22said, let's go to this Cafe. This is loud.
- 31:26So there was that mix. Yeah.
- 31:28So you, I guess, you know, who to chill with?
- 31:32Yeah, but when social media you're not about puss, it tells
- 31:37you a lot that big white because they are watching this on social
- 31:39media. They're saying they're seeing
- 31:41this like false sense of Freedom, when I can go enjoy
- 31:45myself, Of what the lads and the excuse of amount with the boys.
- 31:48Yeah. But the in the Haram
- 31:50environment, it is what it is. It's a harem environment.
- 31:54And then you have other brothers know, they choose to go through
- 31:56the fissure Cafe based on, you know, the Risen up in cafes with
- 32:01there's no girls. Yeah, of course.
- 32:03And this amazing course, of course, of course, because you
- 32:05can literally sit down and be comfortable being who you are.
- 32:09Now, when you want to go to these other shisha venues, okay?
- 32:12Let's say you're out the boys. A lot of places that you go.
- 32:15Oh, to that. Have these?
- 32:17Shall I say that all the called Dance Floor.
- 32:20I have no idea with DJs and whatnot.
- 32:22Yeah, I'm mentioning this because I know people in from
- 32:26the community among friends, some of them, they go to these
- 32:28places and they have to dress up.
- 32:31Why? Because opposite genders there.
- 32:35Okay. They have to go on a specific
- 32:37day while because that's when it's most busy mixed with the
- 32:40opposite gender and they see this online Digital digital,
- 32:45then they go the physical. It's connected.
- 32:48It is, it's all connected to be on a state and at the same time
- 32:51it's there's a like you said, there's a risk that we will see
- 32:54something on social media will perceive a situation to be an
- 32:58amazing because it looks normal because it looks yeah.
- 33:00And the 99% of these venues, but I'm not just talking about shake
- 33:04a face like, yeah, Muslim entertainment businesses in
- 33:07general, are run by Muslims, correct.
- 33:09Yeah, of course and if, as a Muslim, I'm seeing a Muslim
- 33:12business promoting Something like this.
- 33:14I think it's normal. The becomes normal becomes
- 33:17normal becomes normal. Yeah.
- 33:19We've become very accustomed to to giving up and putting all
- 33:23just, you know, putting aside our responsibilities with with a
- 33:27job. And I want to say, to be honest,
- 33:30I know we're specifically talking to the brothers,
- 33:33obviously the same will go for the Sisters as well and being
- 33:35conscious of where you go and who you're with and who might be
- 33:38there and it's all people you'll come across and we don't want to
- 33:41get too much into the sisters. Option because there's a whole
- 33:46wealth Handler of content out. There's most of all most of it
- 33:50by Brothers but I'm sure there's obviously sisters out there as
- 33:52well. Who can talk to talk about
- 33:54things. But from a Brothers perspective,
- 33:57a good guy should not be in an environment like that.
- 34:01Yeah, she sure I'm saying, you know, a guy who sorry.
- 34:05Sorry, sorry. I'm just going to finish this
- 34:06point. Yeah, you carry arms.
- 34:07I don't forget the point. I was going to mention as you
- 34:09mentioned. It's my little girl.
- 34:10I'm going to say it. Yeah.
- 34:11Sorry. No, not at all.
- 34:14Why want to say is that? Whoever is going to shake a
- 34:16face. Is not a bad person?
- 34:17Yes. Okay.
- 34:18It doesn't mean they're not bad, but I remember my mom.
- 34:21She stole my heart away. Going mom, I'm going here.
- 34:24Where is her go? Until she Cafe?
- 34:27Yeah, okay. But by majority of time where I
- 34:30was going, was going to assure Cafe, right?
- 34:32With amazing Brothers, with amazing discussion. 100%, just
- 34:36having a good time. Good time in terms of talking
- 34:38against against again, to see what's going on.
- 34:40What's the latest your friends and the day and you need that?
- 34:43So Social bubble that needs to exist about my mom.
- 34:45She said, why are you going there?
- 34:46And he shouldn't be going there and I should tell my mama, where
- 34:48do I go the shabaab? There's nothing else for me.
- 34:50This has a she has almost l'm to be in an environment where I can
- 34:55enjoy, you know. So this is probably the biggest
- 34:58argument in favor of it because everyone say you'd rather be
- 35:01there than be a club. You'd rather, are you thought
- 35:03together talking about real life issues in a lot?
- 35:07If there's a pot of she said, who cares?
- 35:08Actually thought my mom was rather shisha than drugs.
- 35:10Yeah, you know, people who take drugs and I'll be honest.
- 35:13And shisha to be honest in that sense.
- 35:16Like you said, a lot of people, a lot of Our Generation has
- 35:18stayed away from environments, like these band environments,
- 35:22like clubs or out on the streets and doing whatever they're
- 35:24doing, and it's better that they're with their Community.
- 35:28Obviously, you at the next step for Our Generations, to talk
- 35:30about how to phase away from she show anything, which is harmful
- 35:32to your health, or could be considered her arm, depending
- 35:35how you follow and so on and then to phase that into a
- 35:37healthy conversation where you don't need to rely on the
- 35:40presence of a pipe. Basically you What I mean, but
- 35:45was quickly going to say earlier was about, like you said, not
- 35:49everyone who goes is a bad person at all.
- 35:53That's what we always get better.
- 35:54I didn't say that because I've been too shy known.
- 35:56Of course, it's 100% and me as well to be Scholars.
- 36:00That goes. Yeah, yeah, I think we all do.
- 36:05But I will say that, obviously, it's a culture that we should
- 36:09grow of, and, of course, it's about the sort of places you go.
- 36:12If it's a Mixed environment. If there is loud music, it's not
- 36:15ideal and the same thing. Again, we apply it back to the
- 36:18conversation. We had about digital a job.
- 36:20There is, there are communities that build on social media,
- 36:23whether it's group chats, whether it's Twitter spaces, or
- 36:26whether it's Instagram groups, or whatever it is, where
- 36:29opposite genders even people don't know each other, they
- 36:31added to a group that talking to each other.
- 36:33Do you see what I mean? And it's very easy to follow
- 36:35someone and they follow you back and discreetly you like their
- 36:38picture, like, two weeks later and they like yours back a week.
- 36:41You see what I mean? And before, you know, it there,
- 36:43Applied to a story and then six months later, you're speaking
- 36:45every day. Six months after that, you meet
- 36:48up six months after that you tell your parents.
- 36:50It's very easy for things to move and then you know if
- 36:53there's a risk of things moving too fast and you get caught in
- 36:56the Trap of saying solar and you regret it for years to come.
- 37:00And then unfortunately this these things will spill into
- 37:03your your life as an adult. Do you see what I mean?
- 37:06The guilt, the pressure, the responsibility you then have to
- 37:10your wife to your kids. You will feel Also, because the
- 37:14years where you should have been a prime spirituality when you're
- 37:17unmarried and you've got the most to resist and that is your
- 37:20chance to become a real man. At that age.
- 37:23If you're polluting your mind, your heart and your soul with
- 37:26images, which are not correct or for example, interaction, which
- 37:29is not correct. Then we are at risk of
- 37:31jeopardizing, our future and of course it's very important for
- 37:35us to then get back on track. It is and I think one point this
- 37:40important to mention is For some, it can be tricky because
- 37:46it's family. But there are families out there
- 37:49where a job doesn't exist. Yeah, there's no such thing as a
- 37:54job. And I don't know if, you know
- 38:04this, this starts at home. I need someone, as I said
- 38:08sometimes parents just don't care and don't talk about the,
- 38:11sun's about it. If, if it's happening at home is
- 38:17going to happen outside, hmm? Okay, 100%.
- 38:21And if the parents are fine with this, I'd be be be transparent.
- 38:24What are you talking about? I'm going to say is how come on?
- 38:28Okay, I'm here with my thumbs. Yeah, but sometimes as cousins
- 38:31causes aizen's, okay? In Lord, how is laws, relatives,
- 38:37family, friends, all sorts intermarriage relatives and
- 38:41cousins? And yeah, there's no such thing
- 38:42as a job. And align our communities is
- 38:44sort of exists. Yeah.
- 38:46Best I've been in different communities where I've seen it
- 38:49just, I don't know where I am. Am I in the right home that?
- 38:55I visit the right place. No faster than the amazing
- 38:57people. Mmm, the homes.
- 38:58I visit everyone's amazing but having the best sometimes I'm
- 39:01like, Okay. Wait, you know, you know, you
- 39:07know, my prom. Why are you guys all laughing?
- 39:11Why you guys all shaken hands? Why are you guys all doing it?
- 39:15Just didn't make sense to me. Yeah, and if that's happening at
- 39:18home and the parents are fine with it.
- 39:19I don't know what the future holds.
- 39:22So what I am trying to say, and let me be clear.
- 39:26Yeah, as that What we are seeing in this day and age, we didn't
- 39:32used to see before, we're seeing ya families, who have no issues
- 39:38with, you know, I'm not talking about media family.
- 39:41I'm talking about extended family.
- 39:42Mmm, they have no issues of they're going to go out their
- 39:45sons and their daughters, and their nieces and then if you
- 39:48don't buy look by the way. Hmm.
- 39:50Some are even married. By the way, they don't mind them
- 39:52mixing going bowling going, Cinemas, together, going
- 39:55holidays together and there is no such So I don't interrupt but
- 40:01there's no better rebounder. Yes.
- 40:03That is like, what's their excuse?
- 40:06We grew up together or I see them like a sister, or I see him
- 40:10like a brother and this is dangerous.
- 40:11I look, I'll be honest. I agree with you.
- 40:14There's a couple of things I do disagree with and the first is
- 40:17that, when you say this is exist, it didn't exist before.
- 40:21I think it has exist. I think it was in some ways, it
- 40:23was at least speaking from behalf of the South Asian
- 40:26Community, pakistanis, Indians, even gorgeous.
- 40:29Pre Islamic revolution in 1979, a lot of my community didn't
- 40:35even used to wear hijab in terms of the sisters first thing to
- 40:38know. So the concept of social hijab
- 40:41was even further distant. If you see what I mean I dab and
- 40:45a clock and all these things have always existed but as a
- 40:47cultural thing. Yeah.
- 40:48Do you see what I mean? So like lowering gaze and so on,
- 40:51was there out of respect and the same way you see, like for
- 40:53example in the Far Eastern communities in Korea and so on
- 40:56they will bow and so on. But as a term of respect as a So
- 40:59religious ruling. Now in today's day and age where
- 41:04on one side, you've got families in our community who are doing
- 41:07things on a, what some people would call conservatively and
- 41:11the sense they wear the hijab, they'll lower their gaze, they
- 41:14won't shake hands, no matter how long they've been related to or
- 41:18acquainted with each other. For example and then obviously,
- 41:21you've got other families who are more liberal in that sense.
- 41:26And to be fair, like most families, you have a mix of
- 41:28both. So, Have members of your family,
- 41:30which are really chill, and they're happy for example, you
- 41:34know, like if I have an auntie, who's maybe like 20, 20 years
- 41:38older than me. So when I was born, for example,
- 41:40she was 20 years old, by the time, I'm 21 years old.
- 41:42She's 40 years old, and her mind.
- 41:43I'm a baby. She used to babysit me and yada
- 41:46yada yada in my mind, but I'm, I'm 20 years old.
- 41:49I'm by lift. I consider myself a man of
- 41:51marriageable age and so on. And she still young enough to in
- 41:55a sense that she's still young enough to not be considered an
- 41:58old antique. Do you get me?
- 42:00So there becomes an awkward position there and I've been in
- 42:03that position as a guy and I'm sure they've been sisters as
- 42:06well who have been in that same position, but that's a really
- 42:09important thing to mention. But generally speaking, it's not
- 42:13good, in the South Asian Community, it's very, very
- 42:18liberal. And that sense, and he's all
- 42:21conservatives, sorry, we need more conservative.
- 42:23Yeah, hold them. Close - yeah, and this is the
- 42:26thing, like, I'm the question of using the word conservative, as
- 42:29well as Specially because it's if from an Islamic perspective
- 42:32is not conservative, it's doing what Huck you know you're doing
- 42:36was right and the right thing is to adhere to certain ruling.
- 42:39So for example I'm not a fan of like seeing non Madam's who for
- 42:45example let's say you go to visit or friends house.
- 42:47Yeah. And his wife, as this is clearly
- 42:50just like a complete hypothetical situation Earth,
- 42:53but let's say you go to a friend's house, his wife is
- 42:55there and she's wearing her hijab halfway or she's Pajamas
- 43:00or whatever. I'm not going to judge that.
- 43:02That's the sisters decision to make and you know she's married
- 43:06for example to a guy and that's between them but from a guy's
- 43:11perspective doesn't the forgot really?
- 43:13Yeah it's not. I think that how much, you know,
- 43:14awkward. It's yeah it's not comfortable.
- 43:16That wasn't say because you don't want to tell them what
- 43:18you're doing. Yeah you want to come cover a
- 43:21little more but yes you don't offend them.
- 43:23Yeah and more. So as well with men as well like
- 43:27let's say for example your wife has friends who come over We're
- 43:30at home, usually wear shorts and a t-shirt or trackies and a
- 43:33t-shirt. Put it, why are you doing that?
- 43:35Like, we're long sweater Hoody and wear trousers, like, which
- 43:38are more respectable wear socks? Like, it's no one's saying you
- 43:42can't be comfortable, but just be conscious that you might make
- 43:45someone feel uncomfortable. Every environment is different.
- 43:48Yeah, of course. And I don't go too much into it.
- 43:55But yes, I think Cole's not because I don't want to blame
- 43:59Sisters. No, definitely not.
- 44:01But there's responsibility on the sisters as there is on the
- 44:04men. Yeah, and we know the Holy Quran
- 44:05tells us. So I to keep going said that to
- 44:07the men though the gaze into the sisters were made modest, but
- 44:10it's both to be honest. Yeah, it's by The Men, We remain
- 44:13modest as well. This is lower their gaze and
- 44:15it's, we live, like you said, in a world now where you can know
- 44:17everything about, someone know their voice, no, their face
- 44:21know, their favorite color. No, they're linked in history,
- 44:23what they were doing for years ago, what school this tiny that
- 44:261925, like just what I mean before either.
- 44:29Meeting them, you can know everything about them.
- 44:31So it's very easy on in this day and age to find information
- 44:36about anyone and then meet them and know everything and not
- 44:40there, not knowing that you know all about them which are my mind
- 44:43is creepy. It's a is a creep move, you
- 44:46shouldn't do that, it's as creepy as it is creepy, but it's
- 44:49reality. And US was putting out their
- 44:52sons are there. So maybe what part of the
- 44:54problem? Yeah.
- 44:55No. Of course, like volunteering
- 44:56that information is what? I said earlier, like the content
- 45:00you put out. Yes, we talked about images and
- 45:02we talked about interaction but also just generally being aware.
- 45:05I think for us that content we put out there in any form or
- 45:08even just a presence itself comes with challenges.
- 45:12I'm and I got a question for you.
- 45:14Mmm. That's okay.
- 45:16You know, the way you're speaking with me and I know the
- 45:20people listening and watching this podcast, I think the N loss
- 45:22of value by what you're saying. But I think one thing is we
- 45:27haven't given them like a solution, okay.
- 45:31Because I think we've raised a lot of a lot of issues and we're
- 45:35just talking about problems. I think it's only fair to let
- 45:38them know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and the
- 45:41light is, there's a solution for every problem.
- 45:43Yeah, maybe we should discuss about the shit.
- 45:46So, I have to say, though, before we get into that say that
- 45:50I completely forgot, this episode is moved to buy.
- 45:55The awaited co awaited co awaited dotco as website.
- 46:00This is very, very fashionable, not just the Caps by these
- 46:04amazing amazing hoodies. And I would love to have one.
- 46:07Yeah. And I heard, I heard that
- 46:09they've been gifted to us. How do you lalalalala?
- 46:13And of course thank you to a weighted coat.
- 46:15This is merchandise, of course in honor of Imam al-mahdi as a
- 46:18lot of relief. What are you?
- 46:20And I you know I love Cher businesses like this.
- 46:23Yeah because support your you are proud.
- 46:25Proud of saying, I'm ashy, I'm doing by you just having 313
- 46:29awaited. Yeah, but back to obviously back
- 46:31to the topic and yeah, guys. Before we move on, check out a
- 46:34way to .ko their merchandise support the cause, of course,
- 46:37they're growing really fast. The stock is going very fast and
- 46:40they are supporters of the aftermarket podcast and we're
- 46:42very grateful to them. Thank you.
- 46:44But back to the conversation said you asked about Solutions,
- 46:47I think there's a there's a few things which come to mind and
- 46:50I'm going to try and bullet point them because I know we're
- 46:52short, on time. Number one is I think be
- 46:54conscious about Amount of time you spend on your phone from a
- 46:57digital perspective, screen time is a big issue.
- 47:02So a big issue people have with Tick-Tock is that you can scroll
- 47:04endlessly and you'd be on there for hours without realizing
- 47:08that's the first one. The second one I would say is be
- 47:10conscious about the sort of interactions you're having with
- 47:12people and the way things might come across, you might use an
- 47:14emoji which someone might interpret differently.
- 47:18For example, if a sister sends you a smiley face, don't take it
- 47:22as flirting even if they are flirting.
- 47:25Uh it's not undone pursue it. Do you get them saying leave it
- 47:28and and and just try and keep it if you are, if you're having to
- 47:31interact, some keep it civil, keep it Halal and that's it and
- 47:34don't give the opportunity to someone else to misinterpret
- 47:36you. The third thing I'd say, is be
- 47:38conscious about what you're following.
- 47:39So for example, a lot of mean Pages.
- 47:42Yeah, a lot of mean Pages, a lot of like, lad Pages, without
- 47:46naming any brands are all promoting like, like a culture,
- 47:50which is bigger than the Islamic community and is inclusive of
- 47:53all communities in the west. And How'd you come across things
- 47:56which you don't like or which for example don't click with
- 47:58your values as a Muslim. So those are three tips that
- 48:01I've got in terms of the digital side.
- 48:03Everything, dad. Well you've nicely mentioned.
- 48:08The digital side to. This isn't a job as a new
- 48:10terminology and I like it little patch up this.
- 48:13I think something more important is the actual physical social.
- 48:21Our discussion here is not, you know, are saying, Go out there
- 48:26have fun. Mmm.
- 48:27We're just saying having fun in the right way there.
- 48:29And there are ways to enjoy your last night outs and free the
- 48:33simple there and you can choose where to go.
- 48:36You can choose the environments to be in.
- 48:38You can choose the friends to have and I think it's very
- 48:40important 100%. Yeah.
- 48:42You know, I once read somewhere choose your friends that remind
- 48:46you to say, hey, let's go or wines.
- 48:48ER, that's amazing. You know how friends?
- 48:50They'll always tell you. Hey let's go, let's go bowling
- 48:53or let's go here but then you have those friends I'll book
- 48:56your ticket. Let's go to the other.
- 48:57Let's go. See, that's what you did earlier
- 48:59tonight by golfers. Are yeah, there you go.
- 49:02That's why I'm blessed to have said a little do is my friend
- 49:04and co-host, like, Wise Guys, wise this, you just use that
- 49:08Amazing World. The Influence, is that influence
- 49:10the influence? If you look after, you know,
- 49:13your intention, your influence, your friends and your
- 49:16environment, you can have as much fun fun.
- 49:19By the way, people see Scholars and things like that.
- 49:21They think they're not having fun.
- 49:22I promise you and I guarantee you They are having an amazing
- 49:26time. Yeah, because they're doing at
- 49:29all. Sin free within the promises of
- 49:33within the premises. Yep.
- 49:34Yep. Yep.
- 49:34Yep. They're always to have fun.
- 49:36I need you can wear your shorts. Just don't worry about your
- 49:39knees. You can.
- 49:40There's so much things. I need so many things.
- 49:42Yeah, yeah. For every problem.
- 49:44There is a solution. Yeah, I completely agree.
- 49:46You can work on your body and you can be fit and healthy
- 49:49without having to show it off. You can be you can do.
- 49:53So you can go out and have fun with your boys as long as you're
- 49:56trying your best to not put yourself in a position where
- 49:58you're in, you might come across an awkward situation.
- 50:01So I think these will really good points.
- 50:03I want to add last thing you said about company.
- 50:06There's a saying, I don't think it's a Hadith, but it's
- 50:10something. We've grown up hearing a lot.
- 50:13Just generally, actually, which is you are the average of The
- 50:16Five People. You spend the most time with.
- 50:19I've never heard that one. I'm glad that know.
- 50:21I think about me all the time. Subhanallah, me, I love it.
- 50:25I love it. It's such an amazing concept
- 50:28about company. And obviously, think about the,
- 50:29your years, Everyone can map out a timeline in their mind of this
- 50:33stage of my life. I was at this place with these
- 50:34people and when you think about who were the five people are
- 50:37spending the most time with and you think about the influence
- 50:39they have on you, how you speak are you swearing are you
- 50:43gossiping. Are you backbiting where you
- 50:47look? Are they encouraging you to
- 50:48watch something? You'll watch and encouraging you
- 50:51to go somewhere where you can see something, you shouldn't see
- 50:53for example. And that whole concept is a big
- 50:56influence on us and obviously the steps we've taken the
- 50:58decisions we make in our day-to-day life.
- 51:00And modesty and her job is is like you said is a very
- 51:06important thing in the physical and social hijab is come hand
- 51:09and he go hand in hand, here it goes hand-in-hand.
- 51:11You can't, you can't have one without the other and it's
- 51:14Halloween. You know, we pray to our last
- 51:15month old, there will come a time where we, we are proud of
- 51:18our hijab and like inshallah. We talked about the awaited, but
- 51:22when our way to savior joins us, you'd be proud and show a lot of
- 51:25old out community, and a job. We built Sharla inshaallah, and
- 51:29I really hope One listening to this podcast or watching it on
- 51:32TV on YouTube, where ever, they are hearing this, yes, to
- 51:36inshaa, Allah, take some value that they can point to their own
- 51:40lives. Because I know there are
- 51:42brothers and sisters out there who face this on a day-to-day
- 51:45life at school. At University at the workplace
- 51:49could be at home with their extended family.
- 51:51Wherever it is. They have the issue of Social
- 51:53and digital a job there, always, and there are solutions there
- 51:56are there are, you know, alone like everyone's got, everyone's
- 51:59had their own, I think. Their own experiences, their own
- 52:02challenges, and people overcome these.
- 52:04And I think the biggest answer to this to overcome it, get
- 52:07married, young. Yeah, get married, young.
- 52:10We are going to be releasing episodes at some point in the
- 52:13future about marriage, which I'm really excited for this.
- 52:15I'm not I heard you are the expert.
- 52:17No, no a lot less a lot less time than you have seen but but
- 52:25yeah, Bronte sisters are. I just want to say as well?
- 52:27This conversation is fascinating, but there's also a
- 52:29lot of content on a little bit TV.
- 52:30The documentary shows interviews, talking about her
- 52:33job both in the physical and social context, so do check it
- 52:36out on the a little bit tv, YouTube page and I want to
- 52:39mention again, if you are watching on the aftermarket of
- 52:42podcast page on YouTube, please subscribe, give us your
- 52:45feedback, your comments. I promise that we are trying our
- 52:49best, we're not perfect, nothing we say represents the channel
- 52:53and is only the opinions we have.
- 52:55At this point. In time, they may change their
- 52:57May progress as a salad unimproved.
- 52:59Sorry, your own opinion My my I'd even represents a it.
- 53:03So if you have an opinion, represent yourself have a
- 53:05problem. Bring up with me and me alone.
- 53:08I'm joking but not have the last been good to have everyone
- 53:12training in. We welcome your feedback and we
- 53:14look forward to seeing you next week.
- 53:16Some alaikum to my hero.
