- 0:00Do you feel like you are trapped also?
- 0:02But do you actually feel like that day-to-day?
- 0:04Do I? I feel like I can be deceived by
- 0:07this world, but I never feel trapped.
- 0:09By oh, we are trapped. Technically we are, but how
- 0:14Trapped. What do you mean by trapped we?
- 0:17Have to discuss it? Slamu Alaikum?
- 0:21Guys, welcome back to another episode of Aftermath.
- 0:23Hope you're having a beneficial month, the holy month of Rajab
- 0:26insha'allah with the wiladad and of course the shahadat of say
- 0:29the Zainab Salaam Allahi Alihar which was a few days ago.
- 0:33And of course this being such a spiritual blessed pious month,
- 0:37we are starting to begin our preparations for the holy month
- 0:41of Shahar Madan. We are sowing the seeds of
- 0:43spirituality. The month that's going to come
- 0:46up Insha'allah, Rajab, Shahaban and then of course Shahar Al
- 0:49Madan. These are three months where our
- 0:51connection with Allah Spontahallah has to be 100, 10%.
- 0:55So we're going to be on a mission in Charlotte between now
- 0:57and of course either the fit of to try our best to connect
- 1:01ourselves and hopefully yourselves with our last pong to
- 1:04Allah. So we're going to start with
- 1:05this conversation on the Dunya. Now this might feel like a
- 1:08cliche conversation, but I really want you to stay focused
- 1:11because when we step back and take a long look at ourselves,
- 1:16we're constantly deceived by the dunya.
- 1:18Some may even say we're trapped in the dunya.
- 1:21And maybe there are times there are situations day-to-day, where
- 1:24we're so engrossed, so infatuated with our worldly
- 1:28responsibilities, our worldly desires, that we even come to a
- 1:31point where we don't even acknowledge that we're putting
- 1:34our dunya first and our arkhara may not even be second.
- 1:38It may not even be in the picture at all.
- 1:40So this is a conversation definitely worth having.
- 1:42And as always, I'm honoured to be joined my by my favorite Co
- 1:46host, my only Co host, the only Co host I'll ever You're going
- 1:50to hold me to that one day?
- 2:06Sha Allah, never resign. We'll get fired.
- 2:09Who knows? You know we have.
- 2:11We never talk about how long or what the end goal is of after
- 2:14Mogadam. The end goal is Jenna and sha
- 2:15Allah the. Destination Jenna.
- 2:17Well, it starts here and this temporary wall and inshallah we
- 2:20can see to the Hereafter. Shallah Allah gives us 100 year
- 2:25lives each. Inshallah Allah yeah that mean
- 2:29we're going to do after Mogadam each week until until then got
- 2:33another like 3000 to go. You can't say no.
- 2:36You don't know. You really don't know.
- 2:38Allahu, allahu, allahu Alam. Everything is in Allah's hands
- 2:42and and Charlotte, we work to please him in this one.
- 2:45It's hard work, you know, people ask, is it hard filming every
- 2:49week? It is hard filming every week
- 2:51because we have to put things aside.
- 2:54We have to make provisions, we have to schedule and all of
- 2:57that, you know? And there comes that point where
- 3:01it's like, what are we doing it for?
- 3:03Because it's very easy to get caught up in the, in the, in
- 3:07like just the scheduling and the production of it, Do you know
- 3:09what I mean? We're just producing content for
- 3:11the sake of it. We always have this conversation
- 3:13behind the scenes, do you know what I mean?
- 3:15But then we think about the big picture.
- 3:17It's like, no, we're doing this for a reason, to serve our
- 3:18debates in the Muslims of our last month, Anna.
- 3:21And we've got to handle our community with us who are part
- 3:23of the journey. So it's, you know, we have to
- 3:26keep in mind ourselves with it. Well, handle us.
- 3:28So long as that goal exists and the intention remains in
- 3:32Charlotte. Sincere.
- 3:33Yeah, we can shall hit the seven heavens, God willing, God
- 3:37willing. Charlotte.
- 3:38I have a question. Go on.
- 3:39I know you've had a very busy week prior, especially this week
- 3:43as well. Yeah, I some there's rumors that
- 3:46you've shut down the Internet. I don't know what's happening,
- 3:48but come on bro, I hope you're not creating fit now there.
- 3:53Just trying to serve, trying to do my thing.
- 3:55Umbrella. Yeah, I don't even know what to
- 3:57say. There's nothing to say.
- 3:59There's nothing to say. Maybe I shouldn't have shared on
- 4:01the podcast. Those who don't know, Yeah,
- 4:04yeah, no, We've been planning this conversation for a while,
- 4:06saying we had a amazing conversation last week with Sir
- 4:11Mohammed Hassan and talking about Amirabat Minin, we talked
- 4:17about the way we want to emulate his life and just not even just
- 4:21emulate him, but, you know, be Charla comparable to the 7th of
- 4:25the 7th of a minimal minion, as you say, a lot.
- 4:28And yes, that's our goal in Charlotte, to be to be amongst
- 4:31them. So I wanted to just start with
- 4:32your permission with something I found earlier today.
- 4:36Permission denied. From.
- 4:38Granted. Granted.
- 4:40From none other than Nacho Balaga, the peak of eloquence,
- 4:43which we have so many gems from, says, Remember that this world
- 4:49that you covet so ardently and attempt to acquire so honestly,
- 4:52and sometimes which annoys you and sometimes pleases you so
- 4:55much, is neither your home nor is it a permanent destination.
- 5:00You've not been created for this world, nor invited to it as your
- 5:03resting place. It shall neither remain with you
- 5:06forever, nor will you remain in it eternally.
- 5:09If it's enticed you away with its charms, it has also warned
- 5:13you and cautioned you of the real dangers lurking in its
- 5:16faults. Take account of the warnings
- 5:18that's given you, and do not be seduced or deceived by its
- 5:21allurements. Let these warnings frighten you
- 5:23from being too greedy to possess it.
- 5:25Try to advance towards the place where you're invited for eternal
- 5:28bliss and turn your face away from the vicious world.
- 5:32But that is like hard hitting words.
- 5:34Do you know what I mean? And when we think about these
- 5:37words for me and what many, he talks the way he talks about the
- 5:39world. It's like a a wild animal, a
- 5:43snake or like some, you know, something lurking in in the
- 5:47grass or the bushes which can come out and just devalued.
- 5:50You know what I mean? If we're not cautious and we're
- 5:52not aware why we're there and how to avoid being trapped.
- 5:56So I think that's a really nice place to start because the
- 5:58concept of being trapped in the Dunya we were talking about
- 6:02before the podcast and whether we are trapped at all or not.
- 6:06Oh, I mean, we, we sort of briefly touched on this just
- 6:08before we started the conversation.
- 6:10And I think, and I think Emir Al Momini and he said I'm here,
- 6:13he's telling us basically be careful of the deception you
- 6:17find in this world and you ask a question, you know, can we be
- 6:21trapped in the studio? I think we can be without us
- 6:25knowing that we're trapped. Because, you know, we get so
- 6:27tight down and we're always busy trying to work hard, trying to,
- 6:31you know, earn a living, make some money, get rich without
- 6:34training, not $0.50, don't, don't take out our context.
- 6:37But there's people that live that lifestyle well, all they
- 6:39see is money on the build so much wealth and just get rich,
- 6:44just spend it and they forget there is there is a hereafter.
- 6:47So I'm not going to say that is their purpose where they wish to
- 6:50ignore the other world, but I think you can get easily
- 6:53deceived to forget that there is a Archa.
- 6:57OK, so that's what gets true. Let's talk about money, because
- 6:59we all love money. But maybe that's a problem.
- 7:03But is it a problem? Because loving money is fine.
- 7:08But loving money for money to protect you, money to advance
- 7:13you, money to provide for you, That is.
- 7:19Stay with me. It's on the brink of shark, If
- 7:21not shark entirely, in my opinion, because it's it's
- 7:25entrusting your your sanctity and your safety with a material
- 7:30possession and intangible concept, an asset which you can
- 7:33earn but you can never keep. Do you know what I mean?
- 7:36Something that you can't take with you in the Arkala, right?
- 7:38So but you know, like someone might save.
- 7:41Like, no, I'm not a greedy person.
- 7:43I'm not trying to get a Bugatti and like a mansion and whatnot.
- 7:47But maybe there are ways which we're we're striving towards
- 7:50money. Like we'll have money LED goals
- 7:54but not even consciously think about it.
- 7:55So let me ask you a question. If I, for example, wanted to
- 7:59earn enough money to take my family on holiday to Marbella or
- 8:03like to, you know what I mean? Like Australia, where Morocco.
- 8:07Yeah, say much to Mar. I said have you been to Morocco?
- 8:09Said one day. Charles, Charles, last place.
- 8:13Have you been the same? I have with the family.
- 8:15I have with the. Family most of all?
- 8:18Yeah, most of all with the family.
- 8:20I don't know why he need me to repeat that.
- 8:22So anyway, but like, is that? Is that a worldly goal?
- 8:27I don't think there's anything wrong with that goal, right?
- 8:29Because, look, the way you treat money, I think, can determine
- 8:34whether you are going to be deceived by it or allow it to
- 8:39control you, or you control the money itself.
- 8:42And in some people they let the money control them.
- 8:45And some people they choose wisely how and when and to whom
- 8:48and to where they spend the money on, right?
- 8:50Because you can go earn a living.
- 8:52Look. Alas, Pano Matala, we don't see
- 8:54him anywhere condemning someone to go earn a living.
- 8:58It's impossible to find talk about, you know, don't go and
- 9:03make money, you know, just have enough to eat.
- 9:05We don't find any narrations like this whatsoever.
- 9:08That's all. I think the important thing is
- 9:11when you go to work and make that money, there's nothing
- 9:15wrong spending it on your own family.
- 9:17There's nothing wrong spending it on improving.
- 9:19You know, 'cause everyone wants to live like a life of dignity.
- 9:22I was telling you, you know, go live a life of poverty.
- 9:24In fact, the alibi speak against this.
- 9:26They tell you stay away from poverty.
- 9:28I've read narrations by the Alibi Alim Salaam, where they
- 9:31say someone who dies on poverty, in poverty is one of the worst
- 9:34forms of death. I mean, I don't know the meaning
- 9:37that whole tafsir behind this, this narration, but it tells you
- 9:42that in a way they're sort of telling us, try to work towards
- 9:46getting yourself out of poverty. They're not saying go get rich.
- 9:49I'm not telling you go make millions and millions of pounds
- 9:51and dollars and durhams and dinars, whoever is.
- 9:53No, just make a halal living where you can live your life.
- 9:57You know you can serve a purpose, you can build and raise
- 9:59a healthy and inshallah right as family.
- 10:03And you have the best of both faults and your money.
- 10:06You can either choose it to spend it towards halal.
- 10:08There's nothing wrong with it. Go on the holidays with your
- 10:10family, absolutely nothing wrong with it.
- 10:12In fact, I think it refreshes the mind and it brings the
- 10:15family closer together 100%. It's beautiful as well.
- 10:17We've all been on holidays. Well, at the same time, if
- 10:19you're always going to spend your money on family holidays,
- 10:21don't forget and don't neglect. You can spend those money on
- 10:24Ziara. You can spend those money on
- 10:27your family to hide you an umbrella, for example.
- 10:28You can choose the best of both worlds.
- 10:30Because they can always be two extremes.
- 10:32You have to balance. You have to balance.
- 10:33Because the the the either extreme of money or wealth is
- 10:37when you are extremely rich. You have so much money that you
- 10:41become extravagant to the point where you are spending money on
- 10:43things you don't need. Yes, the the richest countries
- 10:46in the world or the countries that spend the most may also be
- 10:48the most wasteful. The wealthiest country in the
- 10:51world, the United States of America, is also the most
- 10:53wasteful country in the world. You know I read a statistic
- 10:56earlier, the USA spends $20 billion a year on Valentine's
- 11:01Day. Valentine's Day which is
- 11:03obviously a corporate, commercialized material
- 11:05capitalist occasion which has no relevance or place or bearing in
- 11:10in western society or real society or or you know or in in
- 11:13Islamic values at all. And then on the extreme other
- 11:16extreme when you're in extreme poverty, you're at risk of also
- 11:19doing Haram because you're at risk of of falling into such a
- 11:22position where you do things like thieving you, you do
- 11:26immoral things to earn money. There are so many extreme risks
- 11:30on both ends. Do you know there's a hadith in
- 11:31middleman alayhi Salaam. I think we're going to keep
- 11:34coming back to Middleman and Salaam because of course in his
- 11:36life, you. Know why would you go anywhere
- 11:39else? Yeah, honestly.
- 11:40Yeah, he had as when he was. We talk about this a lot.
- 11:43But when he was, we mentioned it last week as well.
- 11:45When he was the the, when he had his khalafah, the four years in
- 11:50which he was the Caliph, he eradicated poverty for the
- 11:53Islamic Ummah. And Imam Hassan Ali Salaam was
- 11:58the Minister of Finance. Subhanallah for that, for the
- 12:00Ummah. So he had a perfect economic
- 12:02system. But you know, he talks about
- 12:04Zohud ascestasism, which is you know, I'm not going to try and
- 12:09define it because he actually does it.
- 12:10In this hadith he says Zohud is neither is not letting.
- 12:14Zohud is not not owning things, it's not letting things own you.
- 12:18Do you know what I mean? It's like the money.
- 12:21Either you control it or you allow the money to control you.
- 12:24Because a lot of people spend for happiness.
- 12:27But what's that phrase we all know?
- 12:28Money doesn't buy happiness. It.
- 12:31Doesn't. But there's people who actually
- 12:32believe that because they feel like, you know, if I can have
- 12:35all this money and all the wealth in the world, if I can do
- 12:38and spend on whatever I wish, I'll always be happy.
- 12:41In fact, I see the quiet, the opposite.
- 12:43I find a lot of people who handle that.
- 12:46They're very wealthy, but they don't have happy lives.
- 12:49They have miserable lives. Because the more money you have,
- 12:52I generally believe the more responsibility you have.
- 12:54And then you don't know where to spend it.
- 12:56How do you spend it? And sometimes you have so much
- 12:57money, you forget there's people out there who need some money.
- 13:00I remember if we're talking about us being Muslim here, you
- 13:03know, what are we doing with this money?
- 13:04Are we paying zakat? Are we giving charity?
- 13:07Are we just keeping it all for ourselves?
- 13:09And there's men out there, by the way, who go out to work and
- 13:11make minions. One like they don't even give
- 13:13the money to the family. They don't even spend on their
- 13:15spouse, even their children, just for themselves.
- 13:17Yeah, well, it's crazy. It is.
- 13:19Yeah, it's madness. Madness.
- 13:20Yeah, it was Speaking of of. I completely forgot I was going
- 13:24to mention a point. I'm.
- 13:28Just going to take a break. Just step aside for money for a
- 13:30second. Yeah, you know, being trapped in
- 13:33this, Dona, it's not just money. I think society traps you
- 13:38because you can be other known living, whether you are in
- 13:42Denmark, whether in the UK, whether in US.
- 13:44I'm going to say in the Western world, the Western society.
- 13:47It traps you into thinking there is only one way and like one
- 13:52goal and One Direction you must take to be successful in this
- 13:56life. Whether that is buying a dream,
- 13:58your dream home or, you know, driving or Rolls Royce or, you
- 14:02know, seeing the ads on the billboards of, you know,
- 14:05drinking and drugs and alcohol and parties and nightclubs and
- 14:08this goes, this is the life they teach you and they tell you
- 14:12embrace this. Dunya, yeah, this is what life
- 14:14is all about. And if you are not taking this
- 14:16path, you're missing out. Yeah, we fed that information
- 14:20through TV and media and in our schools.
- 14:23Bombarded constant. Every constant go, everywhere
- 14:25you look, you know, there's like drugs your mind drugs you with
- 14:28dopamine. When you go into a shop
- 14:30literally or when you're going online and you come across
- 14:32adverts of clothes that you like or shoes that you like.
- 14:35You also was over here, obviously part of the team you
- 14:38also remembers our spamming in pictures of shoes like a month
- 14:40ago. Like which one should I get?
- 14:42And then I looking back and I was like, why was I like, so I
- 14:46got the, I got a pair of shoes. I was like, OK, now what?
- 14:48Like, do you know what I mean? You know, you, you become
- 14:52drugged to a degree where you think, wow, this is sale lot, I
- 14:54need to invest. But let me ask you a question
- 14:56today, OK? Because the majority of the
- 14:57people in Charlotte who are listening are not like that.
- 15:00Like we're not. We're not yearning to buy our
- 15:02own yachts and to buy, like, 5 swimming pools.
- 15:05Why not? In Charlotte we are but like,
- 15:07but with. But my point being is like for
- 15:10me on a personal level of course, and I know you're the
- 15:13same. We both run our businesses.
- 15:14We both are men with two children we have.
- 15:17HMRC is not listening. Yeah, sorry, No, no, no, I said.
- 15:20Maybe HMRC is listening? This is what coming up first of
- 15:26Feb? Yeah.
- 15:26Oh my God. Day after tax day.
- 15:29So anyway, yeah, no. Look, the the majority of us are
- 15:33yearning to earn a living, but our end goal is comfort.
- 15:38So for me personally, I might say I want to earn to the point
- 15:41where I'm comfortable. I can spend more time with my
- 15:45family and I can put more money towards the community.
- 15:49I might have more time to go for Jamaat prayers at the mosque,
- 15:53whatever it might be. Do you see what I mean?
- 15:55But at times you may also feel like that's a rat race, there's
- 15:58a hamster or you're constantly running on.
- 16:00I know I'm working to earn more so I can be more comfortable and
- 16:03have more time. Allah hasn't given us time,
- 16:06eternity, you know. There there's no guarantee that
- 16:09we will live to the point where we become comfortable enough
- 16:13that we've earned enough to feel comfortable to spend more time
- 16:17with our family. I have a great friend of mine
- 16:19who I told you this on the phone earlier.
- 16:21He had a job offer, he was looking for a job and he had job
- 16:25offers, but all of the job offers were working from the
- 16:28office. He said no, I want a job which I
- 16:30can work from home so I can be with my kids.
- 16:33So he declined all of the job offers and he said I'm going to
- 16:35start my own business, I'm going to work from home so I can be
- 16:39with my children, but at the cost of not earning as much.
- 16:43So he prioritised his family in that situation.
- 16:46You may turn around or some may turn around and say, well he's
- 16:48going to suffer because he's earning less, but it comes down
- 16:51to how we value things. The key question is how do we
- 16:54value things? Because the majority of us
- 16:56aren't looking to become extravagant.
- 16:58So your friend here, he's basically understood that money
- 17:02does not buy you happiness. Accent.
- 17:04Yeah, if you can use him as an example, I think he found the
- 17:08greatest balance of being a father and being a husband and a
- 17:12family man. Yeah.
- 17:13And if if you want to live, make a make a make a halal earning,
- 17:18you know, bring that income home, spend on your family, on
- 17:21your food, on the clothes, whether you go out and or maybe
- 17:24some tuition classes, some sports classes, whatever you do
- 17:27with your kids, whoever it is, yeah.
- 17:28Yeah. You don't need to be
- 17:30extravagant. Yeah.
- 17:32And you reach a state where you say, you know, I'm happy with
- 17:35this. There's a roof over our heads.
- 17:38Our family are clothed, our family are eating, there's
- 17:41heating that's been turned on, for example, there is a car
- 17:44taking us from A to B. There is like the basics
- 17:47necessities of life. Why would you want more than
- 17:50that? If you can be content with that,
- 17:53Believe me, that is a very good stage to be in, in your life,
- 17:58Very, very good stage. When I when I say content, I
- 18:00don't mean don't go earn more money.
- 18:02Don't go try to work even harder.
- 18:04No, you have understood that this life, I don't need to chase
- 18:09more. What I have is enough.
- 18:11And look, we can chase this world as much as we want
- 18:14financially, OK? There's, like I said, there's
- 18:16other things that people chase in this world.
- 18:17Well, let's focus on money here. A loss of panel matala.
- 18:20He determines your risk. Your sustenance is determined by
- 18:25loss of panel matala, whether you go work for it or you don't,
- 18:29whoever Allah determines for you as your risk will eventually
- 18:32reach you. Yeah.
- 18:34There's many narrations about this.
- 18:35Very very true. So you can put in 100 hours, be
- 18:39away from your family always. Sometimes having to do Haram to
- 18:43earn a living. There's a lot of people who
- 18:45cheat the system so they can make some money.
- 18:47But eventually I lost one. Italia tells you I've
- 18:49discernment. I'm giving you 60 grand this
- 18:52year. Yeah.
- 18:53Why are you working so hard to earn an extra 65?
- 18:55Yeah, and you've lost half your life.
- 18:57Said, you'll know this as well, especially when you're in
- 18:59business. When you saw there will be times
- 19:02where you have luck. You know you have a big client
- 19:05come out of nowhere or you have a big sale of some sort and you
- 19:09have a lot of money that comes away out of nowhere unexpected.
- 19:12And there are times where you have costs that you don't
- 19:14anticipate. You know your car breaks down or
- 19:16you've got some sort of fees that you've got to pay.
- 19:18They say when it rains, it pours.
- 19:19When it rains, it pours. So like these things are not on
- 19:23our in our hand. If at the beginning of every
- 19:25year, January the 1st, we knew it across the year, we've got X
- 19:28money, anticipated costs that we're going to have
- 19:30unanticipated and we're going to also make money that we don't
- 19:32anticipate, you know then life would be a lot easier.
- 19:34But life is not about that. You know there's and and what's
- 19:37interesting you mentioned about spending time with the family.
- 19:39There was, if I'm not mistaken, A narration where a lady called
- 19:43Chola went to the Sulalla Muhammad Salallahu Salam and she
- 19:47said the other Sulallah, my husband, whose name was Othman,
- 19:52He he's so pious that he fasts during the day and he prays
- 19:57during the night. But then he doesn't spend time
- 19:59with me and my family, my children.
- 20:02Can you speak to him? So Aslam Muhammad went to him
- 20:06and he said, Othman what you're doing, I know it's for the sake
- 20:11of Allah, but if you're doing it to the point where you're
- 20:14neglecting your family, then you're you're Amal are not
- 20:17accepted. You know, and it just goes to
- 20:19show that you know, we can, you know, on one extreme.
- 20:23Work so hard that we neglect our solar, we neglect our CM, we
- 20:27neglect our family time, we neglect our responsibilities to
- 20:29the community, even financially. But then, on the other hand, we
- 20:32have members of the community, albeit not many.
- 20:35If I'm going to be really honest, maybe there are, but I
- 20:37don't know who maybe are so pious, so spiritual, so
- 20:41practicing that they neglect those around them.
- 20:44We hear all the time stories of of the children of Olamar
- 20:47sometimes who are neglected by their fathers or neglected by
- 20:50their grandfathers or whatever because they're always at the
- 20:52must jeers and was giving majalis and this and that.
- 20:55And they say, well, they don't even spend time with me.
- 20:57I know I have friends who who were in that situation as well.
- 21:01So it's a very important balance.
- 21:02Like you said, to strike up. The best blessing we have at the
- 21:05end of the day is our family and all of the non material assets
- 21:09we've been given, our health, our family, our Akkaden and our
- 21:13liar. I believe in the minimum of
- 21:14munin the but the path that Allah spant Allah has given us
- 21:17is the biggest blessing. We die on that with Huck and
- 21:19inshallah, where, where, where sorted.
- 21:22What you're saying now, you know, it just gave me a memory
- 21:24of it's not a hadith, it's not narration.
- 21:26I don't know anyone thinks the narration it's a it's a quote by
- 21:28someone not sure of his name where he says.
- 21:31Malcolm X. Never get too busy making a
- 21:34living. You forget how to live.
- 21:38Yeah. And you, you, you forget that
- 21:39you know, whilst you're so busy trying to work so hard.
- 21:42Look, you can work hard, you know.
- 21:44Here, here, we're trying to say you know, Allah is not telling
- 21:46you don't go work. In fact you what going to work
- 21:49is. I bother you know, there's rules
- 21:51in this. OK?
- 21:53I love living. Let me just make that clear.
- 21:55But don't work too hard. Overwork yourself over, stress
- 21:59yourself and bring so much pressure on yourself and on your
- 22:01family. They forget to enjoy life, the
- 22:05fruits of what's lawful for you, not be the fruits of this dunya,
- 22:09the temporary ones, those that are lawful for you and inshallah
- 22:12one that will help you take you towards the akhara.
- 22:15Because this world we have to treat it Ahmed, as a bridge.
- 22:21The work that we put here in this world takes us, Charlotte,
- 22:27to the opera, and our aim is always gender.
- 22:30And you're telling me you want to work so hard that you forget
- 22:33to take yourself to gender. You work so hard that you don't
- 22:37want to be in gender with your spouse and kids, for example.
- 22:40And these people, they work so hard in this world.
- 22:43They neglect their family. They work so hard in this world,
- 22:47they neglect their community, They neglect their obligations
- 22:50and the obligations to a loss of final work.
- 22:52Because they're not living, say. There we always, by the way, we
- 22:54always have an excuse. I always find people.
- 22:56Sometimes I I fall in this myself.
- 22:58You know, we're working, working, working, working.
- 23:00So now time comes, OK, half an hour, another one hour and then
- 23:04both time goes past. Next thing you know, bro's
- 23:06almost other. Yeah.
- 23:07Yeah, yeah. What are we doing nowadays?
- 23:09Honest to God, what are we 3? 4 hour period in between.
- 23:12Very difficult and this is this is I was speaking to one of the
- 23:17guys in my office. Non-muslim guy.
- 23:19We need to bring one of your office guys to this podcast.
- 23:22They're full of stories. One of them is part of our
- 23:26community actually listens to them.
- 23:27Amazing. Anyway, one of the guys in the
- 23:30office, you're saying to me that Ahmed, why do you guys?
- 23:32Why'd you why'd you pray so closely together?
- 23:35But earlier you weren't because of Salah.
- 23:38Times change. And I tried to explain to him
- 23:40the the, the timing between ISIL and Madreb is shorter than
- 23:45anyway, I don't want to get into it.
- 23:47So it kind of it kind of pointed out to me that, you know,
- 23:53praying on time, obviously it takes its toll from our day in
- 23:56terms of work. You know, you could argue not a
- 23:59distraction, but disruption, for example, is probably a more
- 24:02accurate word from your day. But it doesn't make a difference
- 24:04in the grand scheme of things because like you said, your risk
- 24:06is determined by loss. That money comes back to you.
- 24:09You know, I remember when I got married or engaged, I had a a
- 24:12brother who actually part of our friends circle and I remember I
- 24:17was a young a young guy at the time and I said to him, how am I
- 24:20going to afford to get married you're.
- 24:22Still young? You're still young.
- 24:23I was young, yeah. No, I said to him I was like,
- 24:25there's a, it just hit me like, you know, I'm going to have to
- 24:29share my wealth and this and that.
- 24:31He said trust me, the minute you trust a lot, Allah will provide
- 24:34for you, you know, And it just went to show.
- 24:37But you know, there are people who, like you said, who are
- 24:39working to live but not living, was the phrase that you said.
- 24:44Don't forget. Yeah.
- 24:46The quote by that man? Okay, Don't get too busy trying
- 24:50to trying to. Make a living.
- 24:52Don't get too busy making a living that you figure how to
- 24:54live. Because then what happens is you
- 24:56don't live, you exist, You're existing through life.
- 24:59There. You're like you're you're a
- 25:01static like being you know you wake up you have your breakfast.
- 25:05You go work. You come home you have dinner
- 25:06and sleep Carlos like you know you're working for what a two
- 25:09days. It's like a two day weekend.
- 25:11Yeah. Like there's there's no enjoy,
- 25:12you're living. With no purpose.
- 25:14Yeah, exactly. You're just.
- 25:15Living to pay off your other nor your car loans, your mortgages
- 25:18and your bills and your council tax.
- 25:20Talk about parents. And we talked about spending
- 25:22quality time with our children a lot.
- 25:24You know, I've been trying my hardest to implement this is
- 25:26that conversation. Practice while you preach.
- 25:28Honestly, honestly bro, because there's you know there there's
- 25:32so many things that I can come home and I can start scrolling
- 25:35on my phone and all of these things, but that is being
- 25:37trapped in the dunya, you know, it's being trapped in in these
- 25:40devices and these in these apps that we have on our phone.
- 25:43It doesn't do anything tangibly for us.
- 25:45But at the same time I want to ask you a question, OK, moving
- 25:48away from money, what are there's like rapid fire answers
- 25:52that we can go through. What are other things that can
- 25:55we can trap ourselves in, especially the build up things
- 26:01that maybe we can stop doing or we can start doing more of.
- 26:04I think it's. One of the biggest things that
- 26:08Muslims face is this world of music we've spoken about many
- 26:14times and we will continue speaking about it because it
- 26:17just doesn't end any. Music is a habit that it's a
- 26:25tool of shaytan, basically, and the fact that we're listening to
- 26:27it, we are allowing ourselves to be deceived by its lyrics, by
- 26:32its unlawful instruments, all of these things, they can change
- 26:34our state of mind. And sometimes you can hear
- 26:38certain instruments and music. It can change your mood, it can
- 26:44elevate you, it can depress you. It can make you think about
- 26:48negative moments. It can make you remember the
- 26:51greatest of moments. It plays with you.
- 26:55Yeah. And he went and and then I don't
- 26:57know what, I don't know what I said in the background.
- 26:59I don't know who that person is. But.
- 27:02But music is truly harmful and they forget the instruments now,
- 27:05now come to the lyrics if you are constantly listening to
- 27:09this. So I can't mention lyrics here
- 27:12on on on the podcast, but there's certain things out there
- 27:14in this world. All they talk about is let's go
- 27:17smoke the drugs, let's go drink the alcohol.
- 27:20You know, let's let's go party with the girls.
- 27:23It's all about Haram, Haram. Haram.
- 27:25Haram. No.
- 27:27No, no, no. We have that's.
- 27:29Alternatives. I mean, we have, we have Quran
- 27:32supplications. We have, you know, yeah, we have
- 27:35Ziyarat, we have Latmayyat, we have Anashid.
- 27:37We have the best of everything. And you're telling me when you
- 27:40don't listen to this Islamic recitations, your heart and mind
- 27:45doesn't find any ease. Your heart and mind doesn't find
- 27:47any peace. It can take you closer to Allah
- 27:52The moment you turn off music and stop listening to the
- 27:56harmful BS that comes out from the sound waves.
- 27:59Bro, You're going to realize there is more purpose in this
- 28:02world than what you have given it, and that's aiming for the
- 28:06next accent. Yeah, that's one habit, I would
- 28:10say. And if we're trying, we're here
- 28:12in the month of Rajib. We're trying to improve
- 28:16ourselves eating up to Ramadan. The problem is, Ramadan's going
- 28:18to come. Everyone's got a car of music,
- 28:21so aid comes, everyone turns it back on.
- 28:24What is the point? The worst thing is it's turning
- 28:25back on because it's aid. You know in certain cultures you
- 28:28when it's Eid day you have an Eid party, Some occasions you
- 28:31have parties. They're good, I guess.
- 28:33Huh. It's all it's all basically
- 28:36drumming and dancing is what I'm.
- 28:37Trying to say yeah, yeah, you have, you have, you have like
- 28:42especially in like Indo, Indo pack cultures, you have certain
- 28:45music which is played with instruments, flutes, guitars,
- 28:49pianos, stuff like that, which is cultural, you know, because
- 28:53it's an order with a bit of Arabic and they'll Chuck in like
- 28:56a Yali Madad and this and that in some.
- 28:58Of the makes it legit. Yeah, it's Okay.
- 29:02There's a bit of a lot, a lot and that.
- 29:04So it makes it all right. No, none of that.
- 29:06That's not okay. Like it's not at the same time
- 29:08like, look, don't get me wrong, Okay, we're not trying to be
- 29:12holier than thou of course at the same time, because look,
- 29:15we've been through it. Especially me.
- 29:16I've talked a lot about my. Experience with music.
- 29:18In the past, and I fully get it. And there are times where I also
- 29:21come to it and there's others who will feel the same way I'm
- 29:24sure. But at the end of the day, music
- 29:26is a disease of the heart. It's a spiritual disease.
- 29:29And the same way we could talk about many other spiritual
- 29:32diseases and all of these diseases in the build up to
- 29:36Shahad Al Mavan, we should be looking to cleanse the diseases
- 29:39of the heart, the mind and the soul, you know.
- 29:42And the music is one of those. It's it's Imam as Sujaddi Islam.
- 29:46He talks about the ears being a a passage into the heart, you
- 29:50know. And when he talked in the South
- 29:51Al Haku, he talks about the right of the ears.
- 29:52He says the ears are the passage into the heart, you know, the
- 29:55culp. And it's not a literal, it's not
- 29:57a biological statement. It's more so saying that your
- 30:00your ears is what will affect your your nafs, you know, and
- 30:05listening to the goodness of this dunya is what we'll take
- 30:08you to Arkham, not listen to the filth of the dunya.
- 30:10No, that's right. That's right.
- 30:12And I want to ask you the same thing.
- 30:14But just before I do, I want to mention something and then we'll
- 30:16come back to this habits and how we can improve.
- 30:18Let's say being in the month of Rajab.
- 30:20We have a narration by Imam Al Baqar Ali Salaam Alam Salaam
- 30:24Alaam Mohammed Ali Mohammed where going back to being in
- 30:27this dunya, trying to find the balance.
- 30:30Imam Al Baqar Ali Salaam. Look, he says.
- 30:32The one who forsakes this world, or the Hereafter, or the one who
- 30:38forsakes the Hereafter, for this world is not from us.
- 30:42Really. What is he saying?
- 30:44Balance. Hey your imam is telling you I
- 30:48remember when ahil bait speak this is rasul Allah talking.
- 30:51What rasul Allah is talking Sallallahu alaihi waliasallam is
- 30:53coming from Allah and if these are all you know, divine people
- 30:57chosen by God when they speak it's hodja for us.
- 30:59They're telling you basically don't neglect this world because
- 31:03you're just chasing the hereafter and don't chase the
- 31:06hair after that you neglect this world.
- 31:08They're telling you use this world to your advantage to take
- 31:13you to the next and you take from this world what you need.
- 31:16And I it just reminds me of a point.
- 31:17We had Ahmed Siddiq. Well Ahmed Siddiq, we had the
- 31:21during the month of Ramadan where he said something very
- 31:23similar. It was Maharam.
- 31:24It was like take from this world what you need.
- 31:27Hey, your last panel to Allah is not telling You don't enjoy the
- 31:29pleasures of Siddunya, but enjoy them correctly and what's lawful
- 31:33to you. Now I'm saying you don't go
- 31:35drive a Rolls Royce. You can't afford it.
- 31:37You've paid off all your obligations.
- 31:39Go drive a Rolls Royce. Who cares as long as you're not,
- 31:42you know, neglecting everything else.
- 31:44By the way, back to the back to our point when it comes to the
- 31:47month of Rajab and trying to improve towards the month of
- 31:49Ramadan. Now I want to ask you.
- 31:51You've been asking me all the questions.
- 31:53I've mentioned music as one example.
- 31:55What is another example that I can learn to improve on and
- 31:58maybe everyone else listening? This wouldn't apply to you, but
- 32:01before the podcast we talked about relationships, talking to
- 32:04the opposite gender, talking unlawfully to.
- 32:08Why would you say it doesn't? Apply.
- 32:09Say you're married, so I'm talking about those who are
- 32:12speaking to non Maharam. Do you know what I'm saying?
- 32:14People who people who are married will have conversations.
- 32:18Not you, Charlotte. Not.
- 32:19You. I'm talking about people who who
- 32:21will fall into this trap, but it can't be anyone.
- 32:23OK, so I'm talking about liking pictures of the opposite gender,
- 32:26liking stories, replying on DMS, the second look.
- 32:31You know, even the first look is not ideal, but you know what I
- 32:33mean. So going past the point of of
- 32:36what is necessary. The first look is not ideal.
- 32:38What it's lawful for you? It's lawful, yeah.
- 32:40But like even when you know, don't extend the look and you
- 32:43know that. But my point being is.
- 32:44Lower that gaze. Lower the gaze, yeah, and and
- 32:47for the sisters as well. And the Holocaust tells us,
- 32:49Yeah, for the sisters, make sure you preserve your modesty and
- 32:53for the brothers to lower the gaze.
- 32:55And that's an important and incumbent and a necessary
- 32:58instruction that Lost Pantal has given us, especially in the
- 33:01build up Shahram Milan. And there are times when in
- 33:04Shahram Milan, of course, you're restricted from doing so many
- 33:07things. One of those is the fasting of
- 33:09the eyes, making sure that you're not looking at something
- 33:12you shouldn't be looking at. So that could be looking at
- 33:15someone walking in the street. It could be watching something
- 33:17on TV, which is not beneficial to you.
- 33:20It could be something on your phone, It could be anything but
- 33:24the point being, and it could even be time wasting, like, you
- 33:26know, playing games on your PS5 or on your phone or whatever.
- 33:30But the point being is that you're not using your eyes in an
- 33:33inappropriate manner, specifically when it comes to
- 33:35the opposite gender. Because that that does not help
- 33:38you, doesn't help your heart or your soul.
- 33:41I also want to mention something that we talked about, especially
- 33:43what you mentioned about taking from this world.
- 33:46I agree with that. I I fully and wholeheartedly
- 33:48agree with that. There are studies which have
- 33:51been shown that when it comes to food in particular, yeah, they
- 33:56did an experiment, kind of or a case study on people who were
- 34:02given a choice of 10 different delicious meals versus people
- 34:07who are given two options only. And they asked them to eat as
- 34:10much as they want, have as much food as they want.
- 34:13And after, to rank their satisfaction and happiness,
- 34:16those who had the option of 10 different plates, 10 different
- 34:18meal options, were less satisfied than those who had
- 34:21two. I don't know if you felt the
- 34:22same way. I always had this thing.
- 34:24When I go to a buffet, I'm like, yeah, I'll try this, this, this
- 34:26and this. I'll try a bit of everything.
- 34:28By the end of it, I'm like, yeah, it tastes really good, but
- 34:30I don't feel content. In fact, it happened to be last
- 34:33week's panel. I was at a wedding.
- 34:35It was like amazing Marshallah Iraqi food.
- 34:37I had a bit of everything. By the end of it I go home, I
- 34:40was like, I'm, I don't know why I feel hungry or I feel, do you
- 34:43know what I mean? You don't feel content or?
- 34:44Something the problem is you ate with your eyes.
- 34:46Yeah, you eat with your eyes and you know that's Islam has had
- 34:51has guidance on everything. There's moderation in everything
- 34:53when it comes to food. It's the same thing.
- 34:55We shouldn't overindulge to the point where we eat away our
- 34:59faith. You know, speaking about food, I
- 35:01think one day we should have a conversation about the
- 35:03etiquettes of eating. You know, there's so much in,
- 35:06in, in, in, by, from the sun of Ras al Allah, Ali, Wali, Salem,
- 35:11just when it comes to eating. But that's a separate
- 35:13conversation. But you know, here we are, you
- 35:16know, approaching inshallah not too far away from the mouth of
- 35:20Ramadan. A lot of us will be abstaining
- 35:22from eating because we're fasting and food is a big thing,
- 35:24a very, very big thing. You know, we can start that from
- 35:27now. Like I had a lecture in a couple
- 35:31of weeks ago around the time of with Fatimam Joadley slump and
- 35:36there was a the the speaker mentioned about fasting in the
- 35:40month of Rajab. He talked specifically about
- 35:43using the month of Rajab to do a minimum of three fasts.
- 35:46This is the guarantee Paradise. Yeah, OK paradise is great.
- 35:50Yeah, like yeah, inshallah we pray for paradise.
- 35:52But the idea being is that you also prepare.
- 35:54Yourself. I know this narration, can I
- 35:55share it? It's by Imam Jafar Asad Khalil
- 35:57Salams. And he was so lucky to have Imam
- 35:59JA Jafar Asad Every time we read Karlasada Karasah, he's a
- 36:04beautiful treasure, amazing treasure box for us.
- 36:06And you know he goes in the month of Rajab.
- 36:08And this is how significant Rajab is in the eyes of a last
- 36:11final Tyler. He goes the one who fasts only
- 36:14one one fast during the month of Rajab, what happens to him?
- 36:20The distance of Hellfire and Johannam and him.
- 36:24There exists a distance of 100 years of walking and you're
- 36:28walking for 100 years. The Hellfire is going to be that
- 36:32distant from you. That's just fasting.
- 36:34One night. Wow, Three nights.
- 36:36What happens? The imam says the one who fasts
- 36:393 nights during the month of Rajib, the doors of heavens
- 36:44become wajib upon it. Yeah.
- 36:45I mean, so I don't, inshallah we do enter paradise, but imagine
- 36:49just having the glimpse or the scent of gender.
- 36:52Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah, that.
- 36:54That's like in Charlotte, a dream come true.
- 36:56Yeah. Destination.
- 36:57Destination. I was.
- 36:59I told you before the the podcast, I asked you to pick it
- 37:02up between one and 30, 27 and you pick 37.
- 37:05Remember because I found a list online that says you know you
- 37:07are too attached to the Donya when and #37 was.
- 37:11You don't ask for Jenna the same way you ask for the Donya.
- 37:14That's such a good point because how many times do we firstly,
- 37:17how many times do we go into surjud and ask the R?
- 37:21Or how many times do we raise our hands and ask for the R like
- 37:23that? In itself we don't do enough.
- 37:25You know, understanding the power of the DAR in itself is a
- 37:29bro. This is your communication with
- 37:31our last spawn to Allah, Our last sent down the Qatar, the
- 37:34Qatar Hakim for us, you know, for us to benefit from, that's
- 37:37his spoken word to us. And we can respond with our
- 37:40hands in the air to our last spawn, to Allah.
- 37:42But when you raise your hands, or you bow your head into
- 37:44sujood, and you ask our last spawn to Allah for the dunya,
- 37:47remember to also ask for the Akhla.
- 37:49Because obviously we're not guaranteed the next to to live
- 37:53this in this world. And we, we are guaranteed to
- 37:55enter the next life, whether that is for our benefit or to
- 37:58our detriment, you know, to be seen, oh.
- 38:01And you know the beauty of the art is that you raise your hands
- 38:05and you know by you like imagine extending your hands to Allah.
- 38:09Subhanahu Ta'ala. I I think automatically that
- 38:11helps take away arrogance from you.
- 38:13Yeah, it helps you know when you raise your hands in
- 38:15supplications it takes away any ego or any power or or control
- 38:20you think you have. Because you know, no matter what
- 38:22authority you have in this world or allows, your not allows your
- 38:26master. That's like a key theme.
- 38:28You may be a king in this world but allows the king of kings.
- 38:31And you know, here we are talking about asking for gender
- 38:34the best to how we can ask. And every time we pray, don't
- 38:39forget to pray this in simple. Words.
- 38:45It's probably the best, you know that that key theme kind of kind
- 38:49of coming towards the other conversation of this whole theme
- 38:54of detachment from the dunya is ego.
- 38:56Like you mentioned saying ego is probably the biggest banana pill
- 39:02on the floor if you want to call it metaphorically.
- 39:04It's something so easy for us to slip up on, you know, and we
- 39:07hear the hadith is is the ego is like that of a black Ant on a
- 39:10Black Rock and a black black knight.
- 39:12It's so hard to spot the ego in the heart.
- 39:15So our ego is something, which is it?
- 39:17It needs to be examined and we need to do that.
- 39:20Self accountability. I always talk about this to
- 39:23regularly talk about our self accountability and try to spot
- 39:27our ego to the point where we know whether we are fumbling or
- 39:32not. You see what I mean?
- 39:33If we have an ego, we're going to care about what people think.
- 39:36I have an ego. What Car am I driving?
- 39:38This guy might think I'm driving an old car.
- 39:40I need to get a private number plate.
- 39:42Yeah, which I I have my views. I've had one before.
- 39:45Said, I'm not judging, but I can.
- 39:47There are people who get a private number plate purely for
- 39:49the sake of I don't want someone to know how many years old my
- 39:52car is. You know for why spend £3000 on
- 39:56a number plate? So so random guy doesn't know
- 39:58who doesn't know you doesn't think you have an old car.
- 40:01I I can't fathom that person needs to be and I know I'm in a
- 40:04room with people with private. But nonetheless, you see what I
- 40:08mean. So you know, these are things
- 40:09which I feel like all come back to the ego.
- 40:12It does. It does and and I think if
- 40:13someone must have like a better understanding about anger hiring
- 40:17as an ego, we have an amazing podcast with brother Yasir who
- 40:22actually joined us on a conversation and well I you know
- 40:25it made us understand why Shaitaan became Shaitaan.
- 40:29It was his ego and and if we want to improve on Ramadan's
- 40:32coming up, inshallah, the best time to listen to this podcast
- 40:37is now. Prepare yourself to detach from
- 40:40this world of so ego and I. Want to ask you?
- 40:42OK, you know, on the on the finger of prayer, yeah, we're
- 40:47saying like ego and pregnant prayer.
- 40:50On the last Marvel movie, they were like about to crash the
- 40:54helicopter and about to crash. What did they say before
- 40:56crashing? There's a Pakistani guy in the
- 40:57back of the plane. Yeah, the sun is not spraying.
- 41:01And Nick Fury goes, why'd you stop praying?
- 41:03We need all the help we can hear.
- 41:05That's the power of dua. Even Hollywood is going to tell
- 41:07you. You turn back to your Lord.
- 41:09When you're at sea and you call to Allah, spoon to Allah.
- 41:12Even Nick Fury is calling to Allah.
- 41:14I'm prophesying what Nick Fury is there.
- 41:16Even those who don't believe in God, I guarantee you that if
- 41:20they're on the plane and that plane is going spiral down
- 41:23towards what they're going to say, Oh my God, God help me.
- 41:28God help me. God save us.
- 41:31Honestly, it's crazy. We all need a lot to save us
- 41:35inshallah and guide us yeah towards our atoms.
- 41:37Inshallah, inshallah. So, so I was going to say what
- 41:40is our pledge? So what's I'm going to, I'm
- 41:43going to put myself first on the line.
- 41:45OK, Inshallah, tomorrow I'm going to fast.
- 41:49OK, so I'm, I'm, I'm going to fast tomorrow on the back of
- 41:53this conversation. Are you going to join?
- 41:56Me. I'm in.
- 41:57Yeah. Let's do it, Yeah.
- 41:58Let's Miller. All right.
- 41:59Safe. And we will put our afar afar I
- 42:05was. Going to say we'll.
- 42:05Put our afar on you're. Going to put pressure on them.
- 42:07This is it I. Was going to say, but I'm not
- 42:09going to, I'm going to be at work, so what's my bar's going
- 42:11to be a tuna sandwich or something.
- 42:12So it's not going to be that that that exciting, but that's
- 42:16OK. Yeah, because we.
- 42:17We're trying to detach from the lunya, you know we don't need
- 42:20biryani. And fasting's amazing.
- 42:22Yeah. Man, Wallah Wallah's amazing
- 42:24outside of Ramadan. Yeah, yeah.
- 42:26Because because when it's outside of Ramadan, it's no
- 42:28longer like an obligation. It feels it's must have happen.
- 42:31Yes. You feel like you're you're
- 42:33doing it because you want to not because it's wider.
- 42:35But you and I know it doesn't sound like it's so holy to say
- 42:38that, but it's it's nice to do it because you know that you
- 42:41you've sacrificed for this and you, you pray, Charlie, it's
- 42:43accepted. Charlie, you know.
- 42:45When you're on fast #13, then fast #14, then fast #15 on the
- 42:49shadow mobile, it feels like, OK, I'm a couple of weeks in,
- 42:52I'm doing it. I have to do it.
- 42:53Tomorrow, I'm going to have to fast.
- 42:54Yesterday I had to fast, today I had to fast, You know what I
- 42:56mean? But when you're fasting the
- 42:58month of shahaban or month of Rajab, in these blessed months,
- 43:01we fast. There's an extra reward for us,
- 43:03you know, and it will prepare our mind, our soul and of course
- 43:06our bodies as well. It's going to be a hard month
- 43:07this year as well as always so. We pray it becomes easy for
- 43:12everyone. Charlotte, including ourselves.
- 43:14Charlotte. Honestly.
- 43:16Especially those with a caffeine addiction, Yeah.
- 43:19Yeah, yeah. People have all the addictions
- 43:21ball stick to caffeine. Yesterday I had chaya like not
- 43:24even late, maybe like 738 o'clock.
- 43:26Oh yeah. Bro, I couldn't sleep till 1:00
- 43:28AM. What Chai was it?
- 43:30It's a rocky Chai. A Rocky Chai I.
- 43:32Have a tea I. Have a tea.
- 43:33So caught him I have. Much local tea?
- 43:35Yeah, honestly. All right guys, great
- 43:40conversation as. Always.
- 43:42I love it. Love it.
- 43:43Love it. Love.
- 43:43It. I think it was really.
- 43:45I'm excited for Ramadan, though. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:47Generally me into the zone. We have a lot plan for Ramadan
- 43:49as well, do we? We do, yeah.
- 43:52And inshallah. With the tofiq of Allah and the
- 43:54praise of our beloved audience and community, we can reach
- 43:58those milestones. Inshallah, God willing.
- 44:01Guys, let us know what you want to see in the build up to now
- 44:04and Shahrah Ramadan's. We still have about 5:00-ish
- 44:06weeks between now and then. So is there anyone in particular
- 44:10you want to see on the podcast who you feel we can reach out
- 44:13to? Is there any topics that you
- 44:15want to hear? Let us know.
- 44:17And also during the holy month, what sort of content do you want
- 44:19to see because we're starting to plan that from now.
- 44:21You know we've still got just over a month.
- 44:23What sort of topics do you want to see and how frequently do you
- 44:27want to hear our podcast? Last year we did, I think 6-7 or
- 44:29eight podcasts. More than four, for sure.
- 44:31I think we released two episodes per week.
- 44:34Yeah, rather than one a week. Yeah, yeah.
- 44:37So we done an extra 3 or 4 episodes.
- 44:39Yes. Yeah, you're right.
- 44:40Yeah. Yeah.
- 44:40So it was nearly. Nearly.
- 44:42Which was good, by the way. It was really nice because I
- 44:44felt like we made the most of the month.
- 44:46And we had some amazing speakers.
- 44:48And the topics we chose, they were made for the month.
- 44:50Yeah, I I couldn't imagine having those conversations
- 44:53outside of Ramadan. So it was good that we did we.
- 44:55Also did we also did a lot of great conversations in the build
- 44:58up Shahram Madan obviously last year guys if you're listening we
- 45:02had a really we had some really good conversations before
- 45:04Ramadan. We had sister Gules Zahra at the
- 45:07beginning of Shahadah Madan who talked about making the most of
- 45:09it. I remember we had brother Imran
- 45:11Dartu on for 15th Shahaban. We talked about connecting with
- 45:15Imam and Mehdi prior to Shahadah Milan.
- 45:17But these are all conversations which are timeless albeit last
- 45:19year with a different studio and all of that.
- 45:22But you know, make sure you check it out.
- 45:24Let us know the comments, what you want to see coming up, yeah.
- 45:29Keep us in your duas and inshallah we do the same.
- 45:32Just remember, just make the intention to get out of this
- 45:36trapment of being in the dunya. Allah loves you more than your
- 45:40family. Allah loves you more than your
- 45:41own parents and he's closer to you than you're junk vein.
- 45:44All you have to do is make that intention, make make some yeah
- 45:47Allah, make it easier for me and Inshallah Allah Allah.
- 45:52All the. Makes it first.
- 45:53Of all switch characters to to to Ali.
- 45:57Yeah, I need to do that. Again.
- 45:58Oh, come on, brother. This is natural, man.
- 46:00Do again. Do again.
- 46:01Do again. Do again.
- 46:02That's a thumbnail. That's a thumbnail.
- 46:05What did I say? One second.
- 46:07Yeah, a lot like that. There you go.
- 46:11That's your thumbnail. Enjoy it.
- 46:12Oh, just for a thumbnail. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll say.
- 46:16All right, guys. We'll see you next week.
- 46:17Take care of someone.
