- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Do your thing, Big Daddy. Uh-huh. I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Good morning, everybody. Y'all listening to The Voice. Come on,
- 0:09Speaker 1: dig me now. One and only Steve Harvey. Got a
- 0:12Speaker 1: radio show. Got a good one for you today. Tommy
- 0:16Speaker 1: texted me and hit me with a thought this morning
- 0:20Speaker 1: that caused me to thinking a little bit deeper about it.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And the text that Tommy sent me this morning said
- 0:26Speaker 1: that a tree yields fruit seasonally. But even when it's
- 0:30Speaker 1: not yielding, it's still a fruit tree. Don't get upset
- 0:34Speaker 1: at not producing. Your season is coming if you stay planted. Okay,
- 0:39Speaker 1: one more time. A fruit tree yields seasonally. But even
- 0:44Speaker 1: when it's not yielding, it's still a fruit tree. Don't
- 0:47Speaker 1: get upset at not producing because your season is coming
- 0:50Speaker 1: if you stay planted. Okay, now that meant something to
- 0:54Speaker 1: me this morning. And it caused me to start to
- 0:58Speaker 1: thinking it through a little bit deeper in terms of
- 1:01Speaker 1: what has happened in my life. Because here's the deal.
- 1:06Speaker 1: The thing that I just learned recently was about seasons
- 1:13Speaker 1: in your life. Seasons. I was familiar with it all
- 1:17Speaker 1: my life. My mother taught it to me. I've experienced it,
- 1:20Speaker 1: but I didn't really get it until of late. The
- 1:23Speaker 1: thing about the seasons in your life is when we
- 1:26Speaker 1: start thinking about when you hear people in church or
- 1:28Speaker 1: you hear people say, it's your season is coming. Boy,
- 1:32Speaker 1: you in your season. You know what was messing me
- 1:34Speaker 1: up a little bit and it might be messing you up.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I thought of seasons just like I did the seasons, winter, spring,
- 1:42Speaker 1: summer and fall. But I had it on the timeline
- 1:48Speaker 1: just like seasons quarterly a year. So I looked at, boy,
- 1:54Speaker 1: it's your season. Your season is coming. I looked at
- 1:57Speaker 1: it as a short span of time. And then I
- 2:00Speaker 1: was going to go back to the barrenness of winter.
- 2:04Speaker 1: And then something might happen a little later on in
- 2:06Speaker 1: the spring and something popped through the ground and flowers
- 2:09Speaker 1: show up. And then they might survive the summer and
- 2:12Speaker 1: it's good and it's going good all summer long. And
- 2:14Speaker 1: I'm got it. I'm harvesting crops. Then the fall come
- 2:17Speaker 1: and start fading. Then winter, I go back to summer.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Suffering the barrenness of winter like a crop. But here's
- 2:24Speaker 1: what I learned. You cannot look at your season in
- 2:29Speaker 1: life and the seasons that we go through with the
- 2:33Speaker 1: same eye for seasons as you do with crops, because
- 2:36Speaker 1: God's timeline is totally different. See, a season to God
- 2:41Speaker 1: could be in a really extended period of time. It
- 2:45Speaker 1: could be the duration of your life. That's what a
- 2:49Speaker 1: season is in God's timeline. See, God is expansive, man.
- 2:54Speaker 1: He's way bigger than the regular thing. So what may
- 2:57Speaker 1: be a season to a farmer? A season for God
- 3:01Speaker 1: could be 300 years, 50 years, 60 years, 80 years.
- 3:05Speaker 1: You in there. So I had to learn that because
- 3:10Speaker 1: I was afraid that seasonally meant that this blessing would
- 3:13Speaker 1: be for a short period of time. Then I go back.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Then I come another burst and then I go back.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I'll fire a few more nice shots and I can
- 3:20Speaker 1: have a nice summer. And then I start withering away
- 3:23Speaker 1: and here come winter again. First things first. That's not
- 3:26Speaker 1: how it worked for me. And that's how I had
- 3:29Speaker 1: to learn. So now let's talk about it with that
- 3:32Speaker 1: in mind. See what the text Tommy sent me meant
- 3:35Speaker 1: a lot to me because see, everybody is a fruit tree.
- 3:40Speaker 1: We are all a fruit tree. But here's the key, though.
- 3:45Speaker 1: We are all different kinds of fruit trees. Oh, see,
- 3:49Speaker 1: that's the difference. And that's the other thing was tripping
- 3:52Speaker 1: me out. See, I was looking at the other trees
- 3:57Speaker 1: trying to figure out why I wasn't given and bearing
- 4:00Speaker 1: the same fruit that they were bearing. Why wasn't I
- 4:04Speaker 1: a billionaire? Why wasn't I a yacht owner? Why didn't
- 4:10Speaker 1: I come up with the next great idea? Why wasn't
- 4:14Speaker 1: I the next big producer? Why wasn't I the next
- 4:18Speaker 1: big major star? Why wasn't I the one that came
- 4:22Speaker 1: up with some earth shattering idea and invention that would
- 4:25Speaker 1: change the scope of the world and all this money
- 4:28Speaker 1: would flow me? Why was that? Because that ain't my fruit.
- 4:31Speaker 1: That's not my tree. See, everybody can't be Steve Jobs.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Everybody's not going to be the guy that comes up
- 4:39Speaker 1: with the next invention that changes the world. You ain't
- 4:42Speaker 1: the right brothers. You may not be the one to
- 4:44Speaker 1: think of flight. But what is your fruit, though? See,
- 4:47Speaker 1: your fruit is plenty. See, and what what the text
- 4:51Speaker 1: was saying is your fruit, you you you bear fruit seasonally.
- 4:57Speaker 1: That means it's coming. Sometimes you still sprouting. Well, when
- 5:00Speaker 1: you sprouting, you can't have fruit on you yet, but
- 5:02Speaker 1: you're tripping for you just sprouted. You just came up
- 5:06Speaker 1: through the dirt. You've been hustling and grinding. You just
- 5:10Speaker 1: popped up through the dirt. Now you're a young tree.
- 5:12Speaker 1: You're a bush. Even if you had fruit on it,
- 5:15Speaker 1: your bark and your limbs ain't strong enough to hold
- 5:17Speaker 1: the fruit. The size of the fruit would break your
- 5:21Speaker 1: limbs if you get it too early. Oh, come on, man.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Don't you understand this now? This is what this text
- 5:28Speaker 1: meant to me. And so while I wanted fruit, I
- 5:32Speaker 1: wasn't ready to hold the fruit. So you got to
- 5:35Speaker 1: strengthen yourself. You got to get focused. You got to
- 5:38Speaker 1: be who you're supposed to be. You got to try hard. God,
- 5:41Speaker 1: the fruit season is coming for you because everybody is
- 5:44Speaker 1: a fruit tree and everybody going to bear fruit. But
- 5:47Speaker 1: what you cannot do is think that, look, if you're
- 5:51Speaker 1: a lemon tree and your fruit that you bear is lemon,
- 5:53Speaker 1: this is analogy. Now I'm talking about whatever your gift is.
- 5:57Speaker 1: The fruit you bear is a lemon tree. But you
- 5:59Speaker 1: look over there and you're looking at the apple orchard
- 6:01Speaker 1: and you're going, man, but them apples is big and red.
- 6:04Speaker 1: More people eat apples than eat lemons. You sell more
- 6:07Speaker 1: apples than you do lemons. Oh, that's true. So now
- 6:10Speaker 1: guess what you do? Now you uproot yourself. You take
- 6:14Speaker 1: yourself up out of who you are and what you
- 6:17Speaker 1: were born to do. You remove yourself from your gift.
- 6:20Speaker 1: You take yourself all out of who you really are.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Going over there, trying to be an apple tree when
- 6:27Speaker 1: God made you the lemon tree. Now, guess what? Now
- 6:31Speaker 1: you're all about the soil. You ain't rooted no more.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Can't no nutrients come up through your roots to even
- 6:37Speaker 1: feed the lemons that he bore you to have. Now
- 6:40Speaker 1: you over there trying to be an apple. Well, ain't
- 6:42Speaker 1: no room in the apple orchard for the lemon tree.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Now you wonder why you can't get your roots down
- 6:47Speaker 1: in there, why they ain't accepting you. Now you're barren. Man,
- 6:50Speaker 1: old woe is me. Lord, you don't never give me
- 6:52Speaker 1: no fruit. It's because you keep moving. You keep taking
- 6:57Speaker 1: yourself out of who you are. You keep removing yourself
- 7:01Speaker 1: from the soil that you was planted in. You keep
- 7:04Speaker 1: taking yourself out your orchard. Stop trying to be an
- 7:07Speaker 1: apple if you was born to be a lemon. What's
- 7:09Speaker 1: wrong with lemons? I like lemonade. A lot of people
- 7:12Speaker 1: I know like lemonade. Lemonade, if you stay focused with it,
- 7:15Speaker 1: you might be the only one with the good lemons. Now,
- 7:18Speaker 1: everybody that need lemons got to come to you. Oh, man,
- 7:21Speaker 1: but if you keep uprooting yourself, moving, you'll never bear
- 7:24Speaker 1: the fruit that you was born to bear. Everybody is
- 7:27Speaker 1: a fruit tree, but you got to stay planted, man.
- 7:31Speaker 1: You got to stay nourished. You got to talk to
- 7:33Speaker 1: your creator who made you and find out what fruit
- 7:36Speaker 1: you're supposed to bear. And then in your season, it's coming. Man,
- 7:40Speaker 1: your season is coming, but you got to stay planted.
- 7:44Speaker 1: And you got to realize through contacting your creator what
- 7:48Speaker 1: type of fruit tree you are. And quit looking at
- 7:51Speaker 1: the other orchards trying to get over there and they
- 7:53Speaker 1: got more fruit than you. That's not who you are.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Stop trying to be something that you are not. You're
- 7:59Speaker 1: listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
