- 2:57news, hundreds of sanitation workers in the Boston
- 3:01area went on strike early Tuesday, affecting
- 3:04waste collection in over a dozen communities.
- 3:08Teamsters Local 25. announced that 450 workers
- 3:12commenced the strike amid ongoing contract negotiations
- 3:15with Republic Services. The union demands better
- 3:20wages, benefits, and labor protections, but the
- 3:23company remains unyielding. The strike impacts
- 3:27towns including Peabody, Manchester -by -the
- 3:30-Sea, and Revere. Teamsters General President
- 3:34Sean O 'Brien expressed frustration, stating,
- 3:37If your rubbish is piling up on the 4th of July,
- 3:40remember who's responsible for it. Residents
- 3:44are advised not to put out trash or recycling
- 3:47during this disruption. Now on to sports. The
- 3:56Milwaukee Bucks have made a shocking move by
- 3:58signing Miles Turner to a four -year contract
- 4:01worth $107 million, replacing Brookloops. as
- 4:06the rim protector next to Giannis Antetokounmpo.
- 4:10To create cap space, they waived Damian Lillard,
- 4:13opting to pay him $22 .5 million annually over
- 4:18five years, instead of $113 million over two
- 4:22years. This decision has left the Bucs without
- 4:26a starting point guard and has raised concerns
- 4:28about their ability to compete. While Turner
- 4:32is a solid player, his fit and the long -term
- 4:35implications of this move remain questionable.
- 4:38In local sports. Last night at Fenway Park, the
- 4:43Sox and Reds game was suspended with the score
- 4:45tied at 2 -2. The Sox started strong with Anthony's
- 4:50double -scoring Duran and Narva as a single bringing
- 4:53Anthony in, while McClain responded for Cincinnati
- 4:56by grounding out to score Benson. Rafi Devers
- 5:00and the Sox will resume play today at 2 .30 p
- 5:03.m., eager to break the stalemate. And tonight,
- 5:07the Sox face the Reds at Fenway for the final
- 5:10game of this three -game series. Brian Baio,
- 5:14with a 3 .41 earned run average, takes on Nick

- 8:08Let's talk science. The U .S. Senate has passed
- 8:12President Trump's budget reconciliation bill,
- 8:14securing an additional $10 billion for NASA's
- 8:18Artemis program. This funding will support more
- 8:22space launch system rockets and the Gateway Station
- 8:25orbiting the moon, a move criticized by SpaceX
- 8:28CEO Elon Musk and billionaire entrepreneur Jared
- 8:32Isaacman. Musk argues that the space launch system
- 8:36is overly costly and expendable, with production
- 8:40costs estimated at $2 .5 billion per launch.
- 8:45Isaacman, during confirmation hearings, expressed
- 8:48skepticism about the long -term viability of
- 8:51the rocket. Nonetheless, Congress is moving forward
- 8:54with these initiatives, despite prior proposals
- 8:57to phase out the space launch system. and in
- 9:03entertainment news. Ahead of the sequel to St.
- 9:07Elmo's Fire, Rob Lowe reflects on his favorite
- 9:10moment from the original film, calling it one
- 9:13of the most 1980s experiences. Lowe, who portrayed
- 9:18Billy Hicks in the iconic Coming of Age movie,
- 9:21highlighted the memorable scene of playing the
- 9:23saxophone in a bar, which he fondly embraces
- 9:26as a quintessential part of the era. While some
- 9:30elements of the film have not aged well, the
- 9:32nostalgia remains strong. As fans await the sequel,
- 9:36questions arise about whether Billy will still
- 9:39play the saxophone, a detail that could define
- 9:42the continuation of this beloved story. Well,
- 9:47alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the
- 9:49day. And today, our quote comes from the American
- 9:53writer and philosopher, Eric Hoffer. And he said,
- 9:59In times of change, learners inherit the earth,
- 10:02while the learned find themselves beautifully
- 10:04equipped to deal with a world that no longer
- 10:07exists. And that's a wrap for this morning. You
