- 0:18Speaker 1: it's not too late, FedEx. They're ready for the holidays.

- 0:24Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. The world's
- 0:29Speaker 1: origional podcast, Welcome to Patriot's Unfiltered. Um. In your database,
- 0:40Speaker 1: you want to categorize that as the Homeless Crew. That
- 0:45Speaker 1: is the twenty fourteen That was the twenty fourteen edition
- 0:48Speaker 1: of the Belichick hoodie. UM, you need to find a
- 0:50Speaker 1: way to harness this motion. He hasn't. He's looking at
- 0:53Speaker 1: it and he says that that is the twenty feen like,
- 0:57Speaker 1: do you doubt him? That'd be funny. He goes to
- 0:58Speaker 1: another team. He goes, Oh, by the way, Matt Patrici
- 1:01Speaker 1: is gonna be our offensive. They follow all the NFL
- 1:05Speaker 1: teams except for the Patriots. We're the only team it
- 1:08Speaker 1: doesn't follow IM, Like, I'm not following the Patriots. We
- 1:10Speaker 1: don't like them, right, We're gonna we do calls against them.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I'm mad at Paul, so I go to social media
- 1:14Speaker 1: and find someone like saying bad stuff about Paul and
- 1:17Speaker 1: just liking everything. What I don't know, Paul, What I
- 1:20Speaker 1: don't know, but just just a tweet I saw not
- 1:22Speaker 1: Hual is obviously one of the greatest coaches of all time.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I would concur with your overrated Patriot. I liked the snark.
- 1:28Speaker 1: He's coming around. Mike Evan is coming around. So teams
- 1:32Speaker 1: just cut guys when they make egregious mistakes sometimes. This
- 1:35Speaker 1: is where I get Mike is in a bad like,
- 1:37Speaker 1: he's in a dark place. This is Patriot's unfiltered fueled
- 1:41Speaker 1: by Duncan. All right, the opposite of a walk off.
- 1:51Speaker 1: It was like a walk on, walk on home run.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Sorry about that. This is we're on live video, Oh
- 1:58Speaker 1: all of it? Yeah video, This is audiom. I want
- 2:00Speaker 1: to talk into the Micah. This is how the sausage
- 2:03Speaker 1: is made. Nobody wants to see your sausage, but that
- 2:07Speaker 1: puts the sausage away. Hold on, hold on, organize myself.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Very impressive. Sorry, everybody, right right on timing. I mean
- 2:15Speaker 1: we're just doing something. I was just so wanting him
- 2:18Speaker 1: to say, all right, I was waiting. I was. I'm like,
- 2:21Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say it. Hopefully he knows perfect. Yeah,
- 2:25Speaker 1: all right, here we are, So what's going on? Getting
- 2:27Speaker 1: ready to kick it off? Now? We just that was
- 2:29Speaker 1: just the open you missed absolutely nothing, Freddie. Okay, great
- 2:32Speaker 1: read by me, though, I would say, yeah, I did
- 2:34Speaker 1: a great job. They're ready for the holiday liquor here
- 2:39Speaker 1: booze from atmarel the producer taking care of the talent
- 2:43Speaker 1: that's giving us stuff. I know, I know it goes above.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I don't care if anybody anything. I just get do
- 2:49Speaker 1: it every year, guys. Well it's always a surprise though,
- 2:52Speaker 1: map because it's just greatly appreciated. Speaking of getting things,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I forgot to mention yesterday that Pete and Ottawa bought
- 2:58Speaker 1: us lunch and it was an outstanding too, So thank
- 3:01Speaker 1: you Pete in Ottawa. Thank you Pete. So it's delicious.
- 3:06Speaker 1: All right. So we're one day closer to on to Cincinnati,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and how we feeling. Uh, I feel like I'm glad
- 3:15Speaker 1: that that last game is getting further in the rear
- 3:17Speaker 1: view mirror. But I don't I feel like it's kind
- 3:19Speaker 1: of relentless that the talk about it. So I'm looking
- 3:22Speaker 1: forward to another game, but who knows what this game
- 3:24Speaker 1: is gonna bring. With Joe Burrow and this offense coming
- 3:27Speaker 1: a lot of players talking yesterday. I just I thought
- 3:29Speaker 1: it was interesting pass Rush. We gotta get to him.
- 3:31Speaker 1: He just has a real calm in the pocket and
- 3:34Speaker 1: a connection with his receivers and he you know, it's
- 3:37Speaker 1: it's just funny. You listen to the guys. He'll go,
- 3:39Speaker 1: He'll throw it to anybody. You see Jamar Chase on
- 3:41Speaker 1: one side, he's they double him. He didn't have any
- 3:43Speaker 1: problem going to another guy. So it's that old thing.
- 3:46Speaker 1: He likes the open receiver. Not a favorite receiver. He's
- 3:48Speaker 1: he's he's got it all. He's got the head, he's
- 3:51Speaker 1: got the shoulders, and he's got everything else, you know, Um,
- 3:55Speaker 1: the arm, Yeah, he's got the swagger, the cool too,
- 3:58Speaker 1: Like I think I think he's he's pretty poised. Yeah,
- 4:01Speaker 1: you know, even in rough moments. Um. Yeah, there's a
- 4:07Speaker 1: couple of things, you know, Freddie, we'd like to talk
- 4:09Speaker 1: about the spot, right, Yeah, And I do think I
- 4:12Speaker 1: mentioned earlier in the week about they've had a fair
- 4:15Speaker 1: amount of back to back road games. I think it's
- 4:17Speaker 1: like the fourth time they've played back to back road
- 4:19Speaker 1: games something like that. Um so it is a back
- 4:22Speaker 1: to back road and I didn't really even think about
- 4:24Speaker 1: it until yesterday. But they also have Buffalo next week
- 4:30Speaker 1: potentially for the number one seed. Yeah, so maybe that's
- 4:36Speaker 1: say looking ahead, you know, chance to clinch the playoffs
- 4:40Speaker 1: at least this week for him too. Yeah, no, they
- 4:42Speaker 1: need the game. Um So, I think it's you know,
- 4:45Speaker 1: like it you're not you don't have a chance for
- 4:47Speaker 1: the number one seed next week if you slip up
- 4:49Speaker 1: this week, right, But you know, maybe their mindset is
- 4:54Speaker 1: big win at Tampa Bay, big game next week against Buffalo.
- 4:59Speaker 1: We gotta go a crappy Patriots team in the cold. Yeah,
- 5:02Speaker 1: nobody wants to do that. Now, what do you what
- 5:04Speaker 1: do you feel? Um Christmas Eve? Like, is there is
- 5:09Speaker 1: there an advantage to be had there when you're on
- 5:12Speaker 1: the when you're on the road or at home? I
- 5:14Speaker 1: think at home, like you know, like I think on
- 5:16Speaker 1: the road because I think Christmas Eve is gone. Yeah
- 5:19Speaker 1: for the NFL, Like the NFL players, it's not a
- 5:22Speaker 1: thing that the road team is like I'm out, like
- 5:26Speaker 1: I'm on the road, I get no Christmas Eve. The
- 5:28Speaker 1: home team is like, well, when the game is over,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I can get home and I could be with my family.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I could get you know, the bike for Johnny under
- 5:34Speaker 1: the tree. Well you know all that your mind, you
- 5:36Speaker 1: haven't put it out of your mind. Yeah? Yeah, now
- 5:39Speaker 1: does that matter? No, I'm just wondering, you know, that
- 5:43Speaker 1: way or the other. I mean, I would just say
- 5:44Speaker 1: there probably probably a pretty good atmosphere here with people,
- 5:47Speaker 1: you know, Santa hats, and yeah, it's gonna be kind
- 5:49Speaker 1: of wild weather looped up, as Tom Brady once said. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:54Speaker 1: it's gonna be wild weather leading up to it. But
- 5:57Speaker 1: game time it should just be cold, maybe a little windy. Yeah,
- 6:00Speaker 1: not too bad though compared to that, doesn't sound like
- 6:03Speaker 1: it's going to be terrible weather day on Saturday. Yeah,
- 6:07Speaker 1: tonight and tomorrow, as Freddie mentioned, yesterday's supposed to be
- 6:10Speaker 1: really nice. We should mention that Matt Judon is the
- 6:13Speaker 1: lowest patriot to make the Pro Bowl. Yes, very very
- 6:16Speaker 1: deserving uh, selection, I would say, and by far and
- 6:19Speaker 1: away the most deserving patriot, right would you guys agree
- 6:22Speaker 1: with that? Yeah? I would say, you know, throughout the season.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You know, like I think, you know, if you if
- 6:26Speaker 1: you started to vote lately, I think Marcus Jones could
- 6:30Speaker 1: be a candidates disappointing, you know, like as a rookie. Uh,
- 6:34Speaker 1: but like he didn't really come on till kind of
- 6:37Speaker 1: mid season. You know, his numbers are still better than
- 6:40Speaker 1: I actually made it, so it's um. Yeah, just got
- 6:49Speaker 1: hurt Tuesday. Tuesday, Evan was giving me the d broke
- 6:54Speaker 1: his foot Tuesday in practice. Yeah, and I don't think
- 6:57Speaker 1: he's played every game, but he just got weird for
- 7:00Speaker 1: the year of special teams. Yeah, I was surprised that
- 7:03Speaker 1: he didn't get the knot because you know, they still
- 7:05Speaker 1: have the nonsense where they I don't know what it's
- 7:07Speaker 1: not a game anymore but activities, so they do replace
- 7:10Speaker 1: them the Pro Bowl games. And Barrios got the nod
- 7:14Speaker 1: to replace Stuvena, which I thought was a little odd.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I thought I thought it could have been marketing. Yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 1: and some people think that Brenton's schooler was. But I mean,
- 7:22Speaker 1: when you're on special teams, you have to have done
- 7:25Speaker 1: it for many years before you get recognized for it. Like,
- 7:28Speaker 1: I think he's good. I think he's really good. And
- 7:30Speaker 1: like if he does what he did this year, for
- 7:32Speaker 1: like a few more years, he'll be in. He'll he'll
- 7:36Speaker 1: get he could be in the conversation perfect for like
- 7:39Speaker 1: what Paul's been hitting on, Like you find a rook
- 7:41Speaker 1: undrafted rookie to play gunner on special teams, which we
- 7:43Speaker 1: know is an important position here, but you've got a
- 7:45Speaker 1: guy that you're not paying anything more than a undrafted
- 7:48Speaker 1: rookie salary. I was a little disappointed for Nick Folk.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I know he didn't deserve it, but I just thought
- 7:53Speaker 1: it would have been cool. His last Pro Bowl was
- 7:55Speaker 1: two thousand and seven, his rookie year, so to you know,
- 7:57Speaker 1: kind of bookend things with saying he's quitting it. No,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I know that's that. I don't want to say book end,
- 8:02Speaker 1: but just you know, cool fifteen years ago, Um that
- 8:05Speaker 1: you know, maybe he would he would make it again.
- 8:06Speaker 1: But yeah, so I don't I don't feel like any
- 8:08Speaker 1: Patriots really got snubbed. Stevenson is great, but like there's
- 8:12Speaker 1: a lot of good running backs. Yeah, it's like it's
- 8:15Speaker 1: easy to look at his numbers and say, wow, how
- 8:17Speaker 1: did he not go to the Pro Bowl until you
- 8:19Speaker 1: see and Josh Jacobs. Yeah, it's like okay, so you know,
- 8:27Speaker 1: speaking of statistics, and uh, Alex Barth who does the
- 8:32Speaker 1: Catch twenty two podcasts with Evan had like, I just
- 8:37Speaker 1: thought a very revealing stat yesterday, um that he talked
- 8:42Speaker 1: to us before. You know, the the average start I
- 8:46Speaker 1: don't know how you describe it, like sard yards down
- 8:52Speaker 1: is ten point two. So think about that. Out of
- 8:55Speaker 1: the gate, it's first and ten. So that tells us
- 8:58Speaker 1: that on average, something's happening like a pre snap penalty
- 9:03Speaker 1: or something on offense that now they're average is ten
- 9:08Speaker 1: point two. Question in the back of the room, you
- 9:09Speaker 1: guys know, I'm extremely mathematically challenged. Yeah right, okay, so
- 9:14Speaker 1: this could be stupid, but I'm going to throw it
- 9:16Speaker 1: out there because I thought about it. He told us that,
- 9:18Speaker 1: and we all went whoa, Like that's unbelievable. So let's
- 9:21Speaker 1: say you have a hundred first and tense and then
- 9:28Speaker 1: one first and fifteen. Doesn't that make your average on
- 9:32Speaker 1: first down more than ten? No? Yes, but what about
- 9:36Speaker 1: when the other team has a penalty like a first
- 9:40Speaker 1: side of its first and five so they offset? Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 1: but don't you think you're gonna get more offensive penalties
- 9:45Speaker 1: than defensive penalties? I don't know. Maybe you know on
- 9:49Speaker 1: first down. I just don't think it's as remarkable as
- 9:52Speaker 1: status I thought it was when I heard it. I
- 9:54Speaker 1: just think if you get a couple of penalties on,
- 9:56Speaker 1: you get a couple of holding penalties, make it first
- 9:58Speaker 1: and twenty, your average is gonna be more than ten.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I think we need contacts for the rest of the league.
- 10:01Speaker 1: But yeah, I think, And he also added that I
- 10:04Speaker 1: think there's no one at that point except for the Raiders.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Oh no, no no, what my point being the Patriots have
- 10:10Speaker 1: had problems with penalties that that like, that to me
- 10:13Speaker 1: is the stat the Pats. It takes is like a
- 10:16Speaker 1: handful of penalties in your your goal first and correct. Like,
- 10:19Speaker 1: I'm not blown away by the ten point two Yeah, right,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I'm blown away by there's way too many penalties by
- 10:24Speaker 1: the Patriots offense. Just like Josh McDaniels on Sunday, I
- 10:28Speaker 1: think they had eight or nine offensive penalties. You know,
- 10:32Speaker 1: if a lot of those come on first down, you're
- 10:34Speaker 1: averaging one than ten yards to go on first down. Well,
- 10:38Speaker 1: so it's bad. Like the penalties penalties Mike bad, bad
- 10:43Speaker 1: and bad Caddy and I just would put this under
- 10:46Speaker 1: there's only like there's only so many stats you can like,
- 10:49Speaker 1: he just people keep digging up a new stat to
- 10:51Speaker 1: tell you how bad it's been, and then this stat
- 10:53Speaker 1: and then this. That's like, we get it. It's it's bad.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Like you don't need to go into any more than
- 10:58Speaker 1: third down and red zone. You know, points scored, those three.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I don't even need to go buy those. It's just
- 11:03Speaker 1: that that tells me enough of where they're at. Um.
- 11:06Speaker 1: The other thing we should probably talk about is there's
- 11:09Speaker 1: a not a report, but an observation from I forgot
- 11:15Speaker 1: who said it, but they claimed that Mac has a limp.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we were talking about so I did said this.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I came upstairs today, um to talk to Mike and Evan,
- 11:27Speaker 1: and Evan wasn't here yet. Um. So when I was
- 11:30Speaker 1: on the show yesterday, on my show Fred, yeah, one
- 11:33Speaker 1: of your shows. Um, there was a tweet that came
- 11:36Speaker 1: out from a gentleman named Mike Catholic, and I want
- 11:38Speaker 1: to apologize he took over for evidence because I don't
- 11:41Speaker 1: know who that is. And I haven't been in the
- 11:43Speaker 1: locker room or a regular basis this year. So that's nice.
- 11:46Speaker 1: That's a me problem. I just want to state that
- 11:48Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be disrespectful. I didn't know who
- 11:50Speaker 1: it was, and I was told that he actually took
- 11:53Speaker 1: Evan's job when Evan came with us at CLNS Media,
- 11:57Speaker 1: So he is the want to tweet it out that
- 12:01Speaker 1: saw mac Jones in the locker room had a noticeable limp.
- 12:06Speaker 1: And my initial reaction, Fred was, I think mac Jones
- 12:09Speaker 1: kind of walks with a limp. I mean his gait. Yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 1: I think he has a funny walk, and I think
- 12:14Speaker 1: back to Draft night that kind of saunter up to
- 12:17Speaker 1: Roger Goodell, which was as uncomfortable as anything I ever saw.
- 12:21Speaker 1: But that's how he walks. I think that was my
- 12:24Speaker 1: initial response, but I know it. I just said like, well,
- 12:27Speaker 1: you know, because I was on the air at the time,
- 12:29Speaker 1: I said, I would very much doubt that he's going
- 12:32Speaker 1: to be on the injury report and I can't imagine
- 12:35Speaker 1: this is anything. Well, evidently it sparked like this whole thing,
- 12:38Speaker 1: like Mark Daniels and Andrew Callahan and some of the
- 12:41Speaker 1: other beat writers snapped back that yeah, he wasn't limping
- 12:44Speaker 1: at all. They had video of him walking up to
- 12:47Speaker 1: the podium in the media workroom. Yeah, then there was like,
- 12:51Speaker 1: was it kind of a funny walk up to the
- 12:53Speaker 1: platform to get onto the Nothing stood out to me.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Nothing stood out to me the mic I went to it.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I will say though, that the Raiders had Chandler Jones
- 13:02Speaker 1: miked up for the game, and so they released, you know,
- 13:05Speaker 1: some Chandler Jones highlights, and one of them is hitting
- 13:08Speaker 1: Mac from behind and just crushing him. So I don't
- 13:12Speaker 1: know about a limp, but I won't be surprised if
- 13:14Speaker 1: Mac is hurting. Yeah, that doesn't mean he's going to
- 13:17Speaker 1: show up on the injury report, but he took some
- 13:19Speaker 1: pounding in that game. Yeah, yeah, I mean they specifically
- 13:23Speaker 1: asked him too about it, and I mean he gave
- 13:25Speaker 1: the standard everybody's got bumps and bruises at this point.
- 13:28Speaker 1: It didn't really. I mean, Adam Jones found a way
- 13:30Speaker 1: to read into it, but otherwise it just felt like, man,
- 13:35Speaker 1: I'll tell you, it's tiring. Why it's tired, exhausting, even
- 13:39Speaker 1: you just only one hour or two I didn't have
- 13:41Speaker 1: to do the whole four hour hour. It's tired. And
- 13:43Speaker 1: then you know, Jim Murty was funny. He goes, well,
- 13:45Speaker 1: it took him fifty minutes, but he got to you,
- 13:47Speaker 1: a Paula. He got to you. What was it? What
- 13:49Speaker 1: was it? He got to just like some nonsense about
- 13:52Speaker 1: something like that, Like I was like, what are you doing? Like?
- 13:55Speaker 1: You know, I don't know. Good. No, he needs somebody
- 13:58Speaker 1: to push back on him. You know, he has that
- 14:01Speaker 1: nighttime show he's got, he's got the stage to himself.
- 14:05Speaker 1: No one's pushing back on him. Yeah, well, you know,
- 14:07Speaker 1: we'll see where what happens next week with him? Is
- 14:09Speaker 1: he gonna be moving? Yeah? Is that is that happening?
- 14:13Speaker 1: I don't know, because yeah, I don't think so. Oh really,
- 14:16Speaker 1: I don't know. All right on, I don't think anything.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Is imminute? Yeah? Okay video paul Yeah, now he I
- 14:27Speaker 1: talked to him a little about it yesterday and nothing's
- 14:30Speaker 1: feeling it out? Yeah, I don't. I mean, it's his
- 14:33Speaker 1: business to tell a lot mine and he didn't tell
- 14:35Speaker 1: me anything. Let's just put it that way. Nothing about
- 14:38Speaker 1: nineteen all right, FATS five hundreds. The a ticket hotline
- 14:42Speaker 1: web radio at patriot dot com is the email address. Um.
- 14:46Speaker 1: The League announced today huge and I mean huge deal
- 14:51Speaker 1: with YouTube slash Google. They now are the owners of
- 14:55Speaker 1: the Sunday Ticket. Uh. That's the thing you guys would
- 14:59Speaker 1: tell him about yesterday. So they're gonna be paying the
- 15:01Speaker 1: league over two billion dollars a year for the rights
- 15:05Speaker 1: to this, and you're gonna be able to watch any
- 15:07Speaker 1: game anytime. I don't know the exact subscription fee. I
- 15:10Speaker 1: don't know if that was announced. I heard get cameras
- 15:13Speaker 1: at somebody said three hundred. I heard about three hundred bucks.
- 15:16Speaker 1: That's what it used to be when it was with
- 15:17Speaker 1: direct tickets. So I think people may assuming, but uh,
- 15:22Speaker 1: that's big, that's that's a big deal. Um, you know, frankly,
- 15:26Speaker 1: with NFL Plus, I don't know how many people listening
- 15:29Speaker 1: subscribe to NFL Plus. I did for eighty bucks. I'm
- 15:32Speaker 1: gonna scrap that. I don't I don't need that. I'll
- 15:35Speaker 1: just buy the Sunday the uh the YouTube one, yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 1: you know, at least in the now and get every
- 15:41Speaker 1: game at any time. Yeah, and the direct TV at
- 15:43Speaker 1: least when they did it back when I had it,
- 15:45Speaker 1: they would also put out the condensed game so you
- 15:48Speaker 1: could watch after, which which is you know, for a
- 15:49Speaker 1: lot of us, a big reason why we have, yeah,
- 15:52Speaker 1: the the NFL Plus is to you know, scout and
- 15:54Speaker 1: watch the other game. Yeah. I mean, you know, I'm
- 15:56Speaker 1: just curious few specifically Freddie, Like why do you like
- 16:00Speaker 1: you need to have access to all the games this?
- 16:02Speaker 1: See this Mack just walking up to the podium right
- 16:04Speaker 1: now on Felgren on not Felgren masks on Beatle and like,
- 16:08Speaker 1: I don't know, you guys can watch for yourself, Like
- 16:13Speaker 1: was there anything out of the ordinary? You know, no,
- 16:15Speaker 1: I mean he only took fourth steps. He kind of
- 16:17Speaker 1: has the football player. Like remember we used to always
- 16:19Speaker 1: talk about Teddy Bruski, Freddy Teddy Brusky. You watch him
- 16:23Speaker 1: every week and you'd say, hey, playing some day he
- 16:25Speaker 1: just had a limp, like he just had a football
- 16:27Speaker 1: player or limp. Well, all these guys, it's like I
- 16:29Speaker 1: can't even imagine what their bodies actually feel like. I mean,
- 16:32Speaker 1: it's it's got to be impossible for ninety percent of
- 16:34Speaker 1: them to even get out of bed in the morning
- 16:36Speaker 1: without being oh you know. I mean and by the
- 16:38Speaker 1: time we're seeing then they probably hot tub. I mean,
- 16:42Speaker 1: you know, like all these things that they hit that
- 16:44Speaker 1: he took that he got a little bloodied on, you know,
- 16:46Speaker 1: because I think he went down and then he like
- 16:49Speaker 1: banged into another radar on the other side, he kind
- 16:51Speaker 1: of got high load by accident. He gets smoked. Yeah, yeah, smoking.
- 16:57Speaker 1: So why do you like, you're with us every week
- 17:00Speaker 1: so you need to have Well, I brought NFL Plus
- 17:03Speaker 1: just to see how it's working, you know, you know,
- 17:05Speaker 1: but I mean like you're gonna get YouTube now, No, no,
- 17:07Speaker 1: I said, I said, kind of like, uh, you know, rhetorically,
- 17:11Speaker 1: I'm I'm overlapping between two. What do you know I
- 17:13Speaker 1: would get that, you know, that's what I would I
- 17:16Speaker 1: see what Yeah, I say, I misunderstand. I'm not going
- 17:18Speaker 1: to actually get it, but I might. Didn't expense it. Well,
- 17:21Speaker 1: what would be the difference between I mean plus on
- 17:25Speaker 1: the table NFL plus you don't get every every game.
- 17:28Speaker 1: You get every game that's being shown in your region.
- 17:31Speaker 1: So let's just say I'm traveling and I'm a Patriots
- 17:34Speaker 1: fan and I'm in Kansas City. If the Patriots game
- 17:37Speaker 1: isn't being shown in Kansas City, like at the four thirty,
- 17:40Speaker 1: you know that's the national game or whatever, I don't
- 17:42Speaker 1: get it. I don't get it. Conversely, like if I'm
- 17:46Speaker 1: a Chiefs fan and I'm in the same thing in
- 17:48Speaker 1: New England, if the game isn't you know, it's you
- 17:51Speaker 1: don't get to watch your game, no matter what, you
- 17:53Speaker 1: don't get to watch any game you choose. It's it's
- 17:56Speaker 1: the game you're being fed by the network in your rein,
- 18:01Speaker 1: you know. And then all the national game, you know,
- 18:03Speaker 1: the one off game, like you get Thursday night, you
- 18:05Speaker 1: get Sunday Night, you get Monday Night as part of
- 18:08Speaker 1: NFL Plus, you get that game. I think it's a
- 18:10Speaker 1: great move for the NFL, just because I mean, as
- 18:12Speaker 1: somebody who literally bought a fricking satellite dish to get
- 18:15Speaker 1: it when I lived in California, and now, like you know,
- 18:17Speaker 1: I've said it many times, like all my kids watch
- 18:20Speaker 1: your YouTube. I think you know you're really I think
- 18:22Speaker 1: it's good for the NFL because they're going to tap
- 18:23Speaker 1: a whole new generation of fans that are now going
- 18:25Speaker 1: to be able to have, hopefully have you know, some
- 18:27Speaker 1: kind of access to the games. And if they're smart,
- 18:30Speaker 1: they'll do all the other kind of like you know,
- 18:32Speaker 1: the different angle views, you know, like what Amazon's doing
- 18:35Speaker 1: Thursday night, you know, Direct Sunday ticket on Direct TV
- 18:40Speaker 1: had their own red zone, you know Siciliano, Yeah, so
- 18:45Speaker 1: they'll do something like that that would have been enough
- 18:46Speaker 1: for you to put just to buy it, just to
- 18:48Speaker 1: get the red zone without because Devin told me it
- 18:50Speaker 1: wasn't as good as is the regular good. I can
- 18:55Speaker 1: only imagine how bad it is if it was worse
- 18:57Speaker 1: than Scott. Yeah, I don't know why you don't like Scott,
- 18:59Speaker 1: like because he loses his track. He does a fine job.
- 19:03Speaker 1: It's fine. I just don't think it's that hard. I
- 19:05Speaker 1: really don't. It's and like I watch it, you know
- 19:08Speaker 1: when we don't have a game, and I don't find
- 19:10Speaker 1: myself like not knowing what's going on. Oh I I
- 19:13Speaker 1: don't find myself not knowing what going because I'm I'm watching.
- 19:16Speaker 1: He doesn't know what's going on. He does a fine job. Now,
- 19:20Speaker 1: I don't think I'm being way too critical because I'm
- 19:25Speaker 1: not taking into consideration how many different like promos he
- 19:28Speaker 1: has to worry about. Yeah, so when he misidentifies something
- 19:32Speaker 1: that's happening in a game, he's probably being said, well,
- 19:36Speaker 1: you know, you have to have this, like you know,
- 19:38Speaker 1: draft Kings Drive of the Week here ready for you know,
- 19:40Speaker 1: he's probably doing a thousand different people. And I'm just
- 19:43Speaker 1: watching the game, so I see it. I'm like, how
- 19:45Speaker 1: can you not see that. So I'm being too hard
- 19:47Speaker 1: on hoping that everybody who does it gets fired. So
- 19:51Speaker 1: maybe someday I want no pilot. I mean I think
- 19:54Speaker 1: he should not everyone has the special gift that pauls.
- 19:56Speaker 1: But he's probably too good at it because he'd start
- 19:58Speaker 1: running down with the last six plays where in this
- 20:00Speaker 1: one game we're going to on red zone and you know,
- 20:02Speaker 1: he just he'd be too good at That's just happened.
- 20:06Speaker 1: But I want to go back to that time out
- 20:08Speaker 1: that we've called over here. Can you why think? Yeah, yeah,
- 20:11Speaker 1: I don't think that's a fun job that really that
- 20:14Speaker 1: Scott Hanson has to do. Like, I don't really think
- 20:16Speaker 1: you could. You don't really get to enjoy that week. Yeah,
- 20:18Speaker 1: Like I really love I can't believe that red zone
- 20:22Speaker 1: specifically is like I can't believe how much I would
- 20:25Speaker 1: say I have no interest in that too, how much
- 20:28Speaker 1: I love something like I can't imagine going one hundred
- 20:31Speaker 1: and eighty degrees on something the way I have my
- 20:33Speaker 1: thought of red zone before I ever saw it, and
- 20:35Speaker 1: then when I actually experienced it, this is like the
- 20:37Speaker 1: greatest thing ever. I mean, it's like seven straight hours
- 20:39Speaker 1: on oh yeah, right, right, and that's like basically one
- 20:42Speaker 1: to eight o'clock at night. You're just but I think
- 20:46Speaker 1: it's so. It's such a great way if you really
- 20:48Speaker 1: like the NFL, which obviously we do, um to get
- 20:54Speaker 1: a good story of absolutely every game. If you watch
- 20:57Speaker 1: red Zone, yeah you you know what happened in every game. Yeah,
- 21:03Speaker 1: it really is. Like at first, like I was like, no,
- 21:06Speaker 1: I like to watch the game. I like to see
- 21:09Speaker 1: the context. I like to just focus on a game.
- 21:12Speaker 1: But you know, the last few times that we were home,
- 21:15Speaker 1: you know, um, because of a buy or whatever, I
- 21:18Speaker 1: found myself just watching red Zone all of these years.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I could count on one hand the amount of times that,
- 21:23Speaker 1: like a game is coming down the stretch and it
- 21:25Speaker 1: might be like a Buffalo, Kansas City or something like that,
- 21:28Speaker 1: or I actually click off red Zone and say, no, no no, no,
- 21:30Speaker 1: I need to watch this. You know, yeah I need
- 21:33Speaker 1: to watch but I'm sorry. I could count on one
- 21:37Speaker 1: hand the amount of times I've done that. Red Zone
- 21:39Speaker 1: does it fine, Red Zone does it perfectly fine? No commercials.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Your day just melts away. Yeah, like our game, you know,
- 21:46Speaker 1: even though it didn't end the way we want it,
- 21:47Speaker 1: But like that's the kind of game you'd want to
- 21:49Speaker 1: have seen at least the last four minutes and its
- 21:52Speaker 1: entire well, you know, but you would if you were
- 21:54Speaker 1: just watching and it wasn't your game. Yeah, you got
- 21:58Speaker 1: everything you needed to see on Yeah you want to
- 22:00Speaker 1: see You're a game and you want to watch your game. Yeah,
- 22:02Speaker 1: you want to see the chrono lot you want to,
- 22:04Speaker 1: but you see it on Red Zone. This is what
- 22:06Speaker 1: I'm saying. You would have seen the whole, the whole
- 22:08Speaker 1: tying drive that the Raiders had. You would have seen
- 22:10Speaker 1: every player that on Red Zone. Yeah, you would have. Yeah,
- 22:13Speaker 1: but it's all I think it's hard to for me,
- 22:15Speaker 1: at least to stay in the rhythm of the game
- 22:17Speaker 1: and to feel like kind of who's pressing? If you
- 22:19Speaker 1: a game? Yeah, Like I would not want to watch
- 22:22Speaker 1: a Patriots game on Red Zone. Yeah, I would want
- 22:24Speaker 1: to watch the entirety of the Patriots. But you have
- 22:26Speaker 1: the rare ability to untangle all of it and somehow
- 22:28Speaker 1: makes sense, like you can watch Red Zone and then
- 22:31Speaker 1: recap each game into VI two. He's taking shots, you know,
- 22:34Speaker 1: like he thinks he's he's complimenting me, but you know
- 22:37Speaker 1: what he's really doing that personally anyway, And I took
- 22:40Speaker 1: that personal. It's a big deal for the league to
- 22:44Speaker 1: have this announcement, um, and to have this deal with YouTube.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Uh you know, like if you have the YouTube TV
- 22:51Speaker 1: you're in now you have to pay extra for this.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I just want to let people know that if you
- 22:54Speaker 1: have YouTube TV, this does right. Yeah, this is an
- 22:58Speaker 1: added thing that you have to pay for. But but
- 23:01Speaker 1: you don't have to your whole new service that has
- 23:03Speaker 1: to come out and put a satellite dish on your
- 23:05Speaker 1: roof and screws into your into your roof and everything.
- 23:08Speaker 1: You get it on your TV. So it's it's cool, um,
- 23:11Speaker 1: and it puts a lot of money in the owner's pockets.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Santa Tis Yeah, the production room all right. Um, So
- 23:20Speaker 1: any other news that we want to talk about, um,
- 23:23Speaker 1: um minor stuff. Just with the injury report yesterday, Joe
- 23:27Speaker 1: Cardona with d with a DNP. Yeah yeah, they have
- 23:32Speaker 1: a guy in the practice squad, a long snapper whose
- 23:35Speaker 1: name I am not at Carlson, um so something just
- 23:40Speaker 1: to keep an eye on. Jonathan Jones added to the
- 23:43Speaker 1: injury report as being limited with a chest injury. Um.
- 23:48Speaker 1: You know, my my theory is on added to the
- 23:50Speaker 1: injury report midweek. Um, Tae Kwon Thornton also added with
- 23:54Speaker 1: a knee injury. So neither one of those gentlemen were
- 23:57Speaker 1: on the injury report on Tuesday, Freddie, Yeah, but on
- 24:00Speaker 1: Wednesday they were added as being limited. That tells me
- 24:05Speaker 1: that maybe that something happened in Wednesday's practice and they
- 24:08Speaker 1: weren't able to finish the practice. That's why they were
- 24:10Speaker 1: limited on Wednesday. It's something to keep an eye on today.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Be curious to see when Evan gets back and gives
- 24:15Speaker 1: us our update. Should be any second. Hopefully they're both
- 24:17Speaker 1: out there. Yeah, well was tuesday's practice and just to
- 24:24Speaker 1: walk through. No, they didn't practice at all, but it
- 24:27Speaker 1: was an estimation of what they would have done. But
- 24:30Speaker 1: it's based on last week, is correct, So they didn't
- 24:33Speaker 1: have any injuries. Yeah, and then they got one on Wednesday.
- 24:38Speaker 1: This is my point, like there was a lot of
- 24:39Speaker 1: other guys that were limited based on an estimation. Yeah,
- 24:43Speaker 1: those two guys weren't on and weren't considered injured. They
- 24:47Speaker 1: weren't considered injured last week. No, they weren't considered injured
- 24:50Speaker 1: on Tuesday because of last week, so I can't last
- 24:56Speaker 1: week they weren't injured, so they don't not Tuesday. They
- 24:59Speaker 1: weren't injured on Tuesday. There was an estimation of who
- 25:02Speaker 1: would have been able to practice had they practiced, and
- 25:05Speaker 1: but what okay, but but what's Jalen Mills, DeVante Parker,
- 25:08Speaker 1: Damian Harris, Jack Jones, Jacoby Myers, Remander Stevenson, their current
- 25:17Speaker 1: health if they had practice. The Patriots did not practice
- 25:21Speaker 1: on Tuesday. The participation listed is estimated if they had
- 25:25Speaker 1: practiced right on Tuesday. But I thought that they the
- 25:29Speaker 1: estimations based on their status from the week before. No,
- 25:32Speaker 1: it's based on Tuesday. If they would have practiced, I
- 25:36Speaker 1: see what they would have been listed. I wonder if
- 25:38Speaker 1: they got checked out on Tuesday though, or if this
- 25:40Speaker 1: was you hadn't seen him since Sunday after the game, right,
- 25:44Speaker 1: and also a possibility, also a possibility, But it's based
- 25:48Speaker 1: on Tuesday, like not like they weren't they weren't hurt
- 25:52Speaker 1: last week. They got hurt in the game, and then
- 25:55Speaker 1: they would you know whatever. Yeah, I think it got
- 25:57Speaker 1: happened in the game. I think it happened in practice.
- 26:01Speaker 1: We'll see, we'll see it in a few minutes here.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Same with Eli Apple for the for the Bengals, who
- 26:07Speaker 1: was not on the injury port on Tuesday, and is
- 26:09Speaker 1: on the injury port with an ankle injury on Wednesday
- 26:11Speaker 1: as being limited. Hopefully they're nothing serious and they just
- 26:15Speaker 1: you know, maybe something happened. Uh you know with taekwont
- 26:20Speaker 1: wouldn't hurt a knee or something missed a player too
- 26:22Speaker 1: when he's fine. Yeah, if they're like full participation today
- 26:26Speaker 1: or you know, if they're DNPS, I mean, then something happened.
- 26:32Speaker 1: You really need Jonathan Jones this weekend. I mean that's
- 26:34Speaker 1: oh yeah, you know, I mean, I don't it seems
- 26:36Speaker 1: like maybe Jack Jones is trending towards getting better, but
- 26:40Speaker 1: no Jay Jones. Yeah, yeah, you're you're in trouble against
- 26:44Speaker 1: these guys because Mills is going to be out again,
- 26:46Speaker 1: right we think looks still still out. We'll see. I
- 26:50Speaker 1: mean Cardona, Cardona can't go. I mean, I think that's
- 26:52Speaker 1: I don't have something to think about it to me, Like,
- 26:55Speaker 1: the first thing I think about when you say that
- 26:56Speaker 1: you know they need is you know they've been a
- 26:59Speaker 1: little thin, like lean cornerback. And I gotta give credit
- 27:03Speaker 1: to the defensive coaches. You know, we've been talking about
- 27:06Speaker 1: coaching a lot on this team. But you know, Steve
- 27:09Speaker 1: Belichick and Gerard Mayo and Brian Belichick and everybody else.
- 27:15Speaker 1: You know, I think the defense has been doing a
- 27:20Speaker 1: pretty good job this year, and I think they're scheming
- 27:22Speaker 1: it up every game. You know, They've always been a
- 27:24Speaker 1: game planned defense, but I think they've been doing a
- 27:27Speaker 1: good job. And you know, from the coaching on down,
- 27:30Speaker 1: you know. So I think that's one part of the
- 27:31Speaker 1: team where I don't think you can look at coaching
- 27:33Speaker 1: and say, oh, they're not doing a good They're doing
- 27:35Speaker 1: a good job. Yeah, I agree. I just you know,
- 27:38Speaker 1: I said yesterday though, I just they wonder how good
- 27:40Speaker 1: they'd be if they had some kind of complimentary play,
- 27:42Speaker 1: you know, an offense that's able to take their turnovers,
- 27:47Speaker 1: that the defense is getting right and score and now
- 27:49Speaker 1: you've got now you've got a two score lead, you know,
- 27:52Speaker 1: and that helps everybody. I think that they have some
- 27:54Speaker 1: good pieces they they definitely need to improve this offseason,
- 27:58Speaker 1: and you know, there are some key spots I would
- 28:00Speaker 1: look at to improve. But I think we'll see the
- 28:03Speaker 1: pass rush here down the stretch is starting with this game,
- 28:05Speaker 1: where you have a you know, pocket passer for the
- 28:07Speaker 1: most part, I do think Burrows got some underrated ability
- 28:11Speaker 1: to run, which you know surprised me from time to time.
- 28:13Speaker 1: But this is about getting after the quarterback. I think
- 28:16Speaker 1: this is Barmore and Oocha and Jude On and you know,
- 28:18Speaker 1: I think that's that's the way you gotta go. You
- 28:21Speaker 1: gotta get after him early and not to give away.
- 28:24Speaker 1: And he can run, but he's not a mobile quarterback.
- 28:26Speaker 1: He's not considered a mobile. Yeah, but they'll run him
- 28:28Speaker 1: a little bit, like they'll just run draws with him
- 28:30Speaker 1: like QB drawsile just when you don't expect it. They
- 28:34Speaker 1: had one, I forget what game it wasn't you know,
- 28:36Speaker 1: just in the red zone. I think they were like
- 28:37Speaker 1: seven eight yard line, the sea's parted, and he just
- 28:39Speaker 1: rammed it up the middle of He can run, you know,
- 28:41Speaker 1: it's it's just something that you don't really expect. But
- 28:45Speaker 1: just the he makes his money in the pocket, he does.
- 28:48Speaker 1: I mean he just some of those those throws a
- 28:50Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago, that one to seal it. Who
- 28:52Speaker 1: is that against Paul? The one that he just like
- 28:53Speaker 1: put it right on big guy Higgins. I mean it's
- 28:55Speaker 1: just like a third and eleven. Some of the throws
- 28:58Speaker 1: he makes are just it was just that he's a
- 29:00Speaker 1: he's a throwback quarterback in a lot of ways of
- 29:02Speaker 1: just one of those guys who's calm and cool in
- 29:05Speaker 1: the pocket and you know the different Like last game,
- 29:09Speaker 1: they did a good job with Adams and he kept
- 29:13Speaker 1: trying to go to this Hollis guy and you know,
- 29:15Speaker 1: until the end it really didn't work. You know, Um,
- 29:19Speaker 1: this game, if they do, let's say they do a
- 29:22Speaker 1: good job on Chase, which is even harder. Well, yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 1: it's about I'd say he's Adams, but I think te
- 29:28Speaker 1: Higgins could go off, you know, like he's a better guys. Yeah,
- 29:34Speaker 1: miss cars several times. Yeah, so like Tee Higgins could
- 29:41Speaker 1: have a huge game, you know, I think Joe, Yeah,
- 29:43Speaker 1: that's I mean to Paul's point, I think Joe Burrow.
- 29:45Speaker 1: His ability to throw the ball is going to tell
- 29:47Speaker 1: you a lot about the secondary. You know. There's just
- 29:49Speaker 1: it's a good test and that's why you need you
- 29:51Speaker 1: need Jonathan Jones, Like I just I don't know, I
- 29:53Speaker 1: don't know what they do if if he can't go,
- 29:55Speaker 1: if Mills can't go, if Jack Jones can't go, you're
- 29:57Speaker 1: down to Marcus Jones. And Sean Wade playing on the
- 29:59Speaker 1: outs a little bit, a little bit scary. Yeah, all right,
- 30:02Speaker 1: eight five five Pats five hundred is the ACE ticket
- 30:05Speaker 1: hot line web radio atpages dot com as the email address.
- 30:08Speaker 1: We got picks today, picks, so we have to hurry.
- 30:11Speaker 1: So let's get our listeners into the action. Here. We'll
- 30:14Speaker 1: start with Patty and Agawam. What's up Patty? Hey guys,
- 30:18Speaker 1: I'll make bricksons you get picks later. Hurry, hurry, hurry,
- 30:23Speaker 1: hurry hurry. So I think this defense has been playing
- 30:26Speaker 1: pretty good the last few weeks. Um, I don't know
- 30:28Speaker 1: how you guys all feel about it. I especially thought,
- 30:31Speaker 1: you know, that Raiders final offensive drive. Notwithstanding, I thought
- 30:35Speaker 1: they played pretty good last week. UM. Really interested to
- 30:38Speaker 1: see how they match up in this game. And honestly,
- 30:41Speaker 1: I think that if we're gonna have a chance in
- 30:43Speaker 1: this game, which I really don't think we do, but
- 30:46Speaker 1: if we're gonna have a chance, they're gonna be the
- 30:48Speaker 1: ones that are they're going to keep us in this game.
- 30:50Speaker 1: And I know I advocated before the Buffalo game that
- 30:54Speaker 1: I would like to see them just you know, yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 1: final score be damn. Just let's let's let's see them
- 31:01Speaker 1: take some more shots down the field. I mean, we're
- 31:03Speaker 1: not supposed to win these next three games. I mean
- 31:06Speaker 1: you might as we'll see what you can do in
- 31:07Speaker 1: the deep passing game. You know, that's what they did
- 31:10Speaker 1: last game. They pushed the ball down. But yeah, I
- 31:15Speaker 1: don't really care how they do it. I just do something,
- 31:19Speaker 1: you know, score score some points, you know, I don't
- 31:22Speaker 1: care how they do it, you know, and find a
- 31:26Speaker 1: way if thanks Patty, if I thought, you know, like
- 31:29Speaker 1: if if Evan told me, for example, that you know,
- 31:32Speaker 1: Thornton's like open, like but he's not, like there's no
- 31:36Speaker 1: guys that are like open that you know, Mac is
- 31:39Speaker 1: like not choosing not to go after you know, no,
- 31:42Speaker 1: but he's missing him. Yeah, like I thought he had.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I thought he had plays to be made the other day.
- 31:46Speaker 1: He just wasn't accurate. I thought the one to Myers, right,
- 31:49Speaker 1: so they are taking shots, you know, um, but like
- 31:54Speaker 1: so what I thought he had a play to me
- 31:56Speaker 1: made down the field to Agilo. Now I think Al
- 32:00Speaker 1: would have caught it, but I don't think it was
- 32:02Speaker 1: a great throw. I thought the one that he threw
- 32:04Speaker 1: to Thornton was a good throw and Thornton should have
- 32:06Speaker 1: been able to get his feet in bounds. Those were
- 32:08Speaker 1: all downfield throws, right, Yeah, you know, so I don't
- 32:11Speaker 1: think like, oh, they need to do that. Yeah, I
- 32:14Speaker 1: think they do. I mean I think that this like
- 32:17Speaker 1: underneath stuff is not gonna do it. If you're just
- 32:20Speaker 1: gonna play it like you did against Buffalo and try
- 32:22Speaker 1: to stay close, great, I don't care whatever you do.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Just execute it. Do it. They executed it against Buffalo.
- 32:28Speaker 1: But you're not gonna get anywhere with it. Like that's
- 32:31Speaker 1: what teams are slamming down on you. You have to
- 32:33Speaker 1: do something different. Three and a half yards a pop. Yeah,
- 32:36Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like they I mean, I'm
- 32:39Speaker 1: not like with Patty and just like well, you just
- 32:42Speaker 1: have to do it. What's the different. No, you go
- 32:43Speaker 1: into the game, you know, trying to win it, and
- 32:46Speaker 1: you do what you think is the best to try
- 32:48Speaker 1: to win it. You had a terrible secondary against the Raiders.
- 32:54Speaker 1: You know, open it up and see if you can
- 32:55Speaker 1: take advantage of it. They couldn't. They threw four hundred
- 32:57Speaker 1: and twelve yards. Yeah, like that that was disappointing, But
- 33:01Speaker 1: like I understand what the mentality was, don't you. Yeah,
- 33:03Speaker 1: for sure. I mean, I know, we just want to
- 33:05Speaker 1: kill the coaches all the time, but I understand what
- 33:07Speaker 1: they would think in that game for sure. I mean,
- 33:09Speaker 1: I think it goes back to what Evan was, you know,
- 33:11Speaker 1: saying yesterday that like it's just these dramatic shifts between
- 33:14Speaker 1: game plans each week, and it's like you just just
- 33:16Speaker 1: do what you do good, like you know what it
- 33:18Speaker 1: is that right? Well, it's like they go from like,
- 33:20Speaker 1: now we're really trying to push it down the field
- 33:21Speaker 1: to oh, you know, this game, we're only throwing you know,
- 33:23Speaker 1: three yard passes, Like isn't there a happy middle ground
- 33:26Speaker 1: where we take some shots down field, we take the
- 33:28Speaker 1: short stuff when it's there, you know, and and and
- 33:30Speaker 1: try to find some balance that way. Um yeah, let's
- 33:34Speaker 1: go to Jake and Chicago. What's up Jake? Hey, guys,
- 33:40Speaker 1: first time caller. Thank you. I love the show. I've
- 33:43Speaker 1: been to two games this year. The Detroit game was
- 33:46Speaker 1: out standy nice, and I was just in Vegas. Very
- 33:51Speaker 1: disappointing to say the least. However, my annoyance is that
- 33:56Speaker 1: nobody's addressing how poorly Max played since what was a
- 34:00Speaker 1: week fifteen of last year, So I feel like we're
- 34:04Speaker 1: throwing so much blame at Patricia, which deservedly so he
- 34:08Speaker 1: does deserve some, but he wasn't successful under McDaniels in
- 34:12Speaker 1: the last five sixteen last year either, that's correct, yep, yep.
- 34:19Speaker 1: So I feel like we have to really kind of
- 34:23Speaker 1: addressed quarterback situation along with coaches. Yeah, yeah, I mean
- 34:29Speaker 1: it's I think it's a hard one. I do think
- 34:31Speaker 1: that the changing coach this year is hard to ignore.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Like I agree, I think, you know, down the stretch
- 34:39Speaker 1: last year he tailed off a little bit, But how
- 34:42Speaker 1: much of that was because of him just not being
- 34:45Speaker 1: that good, maybe other teams sort of understanding what he's doing,
- 34:48Speaker 1: or you know, just kind of rookie wall kind of stuff,
- 34:50Speaker 1: like he tailed off he was, you know, but I
- 34:52Speaker 1: would say that a lot of factors this year's offense
- 34:55Speaker 1: if even now, if they played a team that was
- 34:58Speaker 1: as bad as Jacksonville was last year, Remember they crushed
- 35:00Speaker 1: them down the stretch. I don't think they do that
- 35:03Speaker 1: this No, I don't think they'd be able to do
- 35:05Speaker 1: that this year. That's the difference. Like even against the
- 35:08Speaker 1: bad teams, the offense doesn't look good, you know, correct, Yeah, correct?
- 35:13Speaker 1: And now I think part of that is circumstantial. I
- 35:17Speaker 1: think right now they're just beaten. They're beaten down. I
- 35:20Speaker 1: think that's why I said it's impossible to separate the
- 35:22Speaker 1: coaching thing, because I think that really affected them mentally,
- 35:25Speaker 1: unfortunately before the season even started. Yeah, and that's where
- 35:28Speaker 1: my problem with Mac is. Evan's back and then all right, Evan,
- 35:47Speaker 1: my time to shine. Yeah, only a couple more. By
- 35:50Speaker 1: the way, before you tell us, you told us that
- 35:53Speaker 1: you had some grievances. I feel the show that you
- 35:56Speaker 1: weren't on and that you took notes of things that
- 35:58Speaker 1: we said. So I maybe we can get it to
- 36:00Speaker 1: that late. I did, but Alex isn't here, and some
- 36:03Speaker 1: of my gripes are with her son, and said she
- 36:07Speaker 1: was going to be here. But all right, I didn't
- 36:10Speaker 1: want to man splain basketball to this kid exactly. Anyways,
- 36:16Speaker 1: get to practice first, then we can then we can
- 36:19Speaker 1: do our you know, airing of grievances. Oh, no DeVante Parker,
- 36:24Speaker 1: Jalen Mills, and no Joe Cardona not at practice today.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Was a DNP yesterday. So Tucker Addington is the long
- 36:34Speaker 1: snapper that they signed to the practice squad last week,
- 36:37Speaker 1: and it's looking like we could have Tucker Addington long
- 36:40Speaker 1: snapping on Saturday for the Patriots, so be interesting. Marcus Jones'
- 36:45Speaker 1: first time everything Cardona Well miss a game and his
- 36:48Speaker 1: career in the NFL obviously is a long snapper, so
- 36:50Speaker 1: you expect him to be healthy. But still, huh, it's
- 36:54Speaker 1: so Jonathan Jones tywon out there? Okay, good news, yep, goodness, yep.
- 36:58Speaker 1: They were both out there, and Damian Harris remains out there.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Jack Jones was out there, so those guys will see.
- 37:08Speaker 1: I mean, look, it's not a big difference, but just
- 37:10Speaker 1: looking at the Bengals wide receivers six foot four, Te
- 37:13Speaker 1: Higgins six to one, Boyd six feet Jamar Chase, Jack
- 37:17Speaker 1: Jones is at least five to eleven, so it's at
- 37:20Speaker 1: least a little bit taller than than Miles Brian and
- 37:22Speaker 1: John Jones and Marcus Jones. I'm not saying he's six
- 37:26Speaker 1: to four, but you at least get a little bit
- 37:28Speaker 1: more size on the outside. I guess against those because
- 37:30Speaker 1: almost one hundred and seventy five pounds too. So you
- 37:34Speaker 1: have an attitude problem. You you you You're the problem.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I have my eye on you. You have an attitude problem. Well, Joe,
- 37:42Speaker 1: just joking, just joking, No, but I was talking before
- 37:45Speaker 1: you got back. I was really anxious to see if
- 37:47Speaker 1: those two guys because I I'm always um a little
- 37:52Speaker 1: bit more concerned with limited guys. Yeah, that pop up
- 37:55Speaker 1: in the middle of the week, right, and you know,
- 37:57Speaker 1: you wonder if something happened this week at practice that
- 38:01Speaker 1: would say, oh, like Devin Duvern they broke his foot
- 38:04Speaker 1: practice on Tuesday, like he's out, Like that's that. Those
- 38:08Speaker 1: are the kinds of ones that worry made. Yeah, it
- 38:10Speaker 1: did seem like the projected injury report of the estimated
- 38:13Speaker 1: injury report was fugazi the other day, like it meant nothing.
- 38:18Speaker 1: It was basically just a reprint of what it was
- 38:20Speaker 1: the week before. So if they're just limited and they
- 38:23Speaker 1: were out there today, I would expect them to be ready. Right.
- 38:26Speaker 1: My guess is that those two guys had in game
- 38:28Speaker 1: injuries that we just didn't find out about until about
- 38:31Speaker 1: the lamp. The limp, the limp, Oh did you uh
- 38:35Speaker 1: any limping of you know, Mac Jones. I did not
- 38:38Speaker 1: see any limping today. But I will say this and
- 38:40Speaker 1: the guy that replaced you at Pentice, I'm not sorry yet.
- 38:45Speaker 1: What again? I like that not to defend my guy Mike,
- 38:54Speaker 1: but last week in Arizona, I did see Mac Jones
- 38:58Speaker 1: with a noticeable limp walking around the University of Arizona
- 39:02Speaker 1: campus and I actually made note of it and was like,
- 39:05Speaker 1: huh yeah, that's that's interesting. That's not looking good. And
- 39:09Speaker 1: uh So yesterday when Mike reported that he had a
- 39:13Speaker 1: limp or said he had a limp, I I wasn't
- 39:15Speaker 1: surprised that somebody else had noticed that he was limping
- 39:19Speaker 1: or favoring the ankle a little bit, because I had
- 39:21Speaker 1: also noticed that as well. So we'll see. I I
- 39:26Speaker 1: think he's fine, Like, I'm not trying to make a
- 39:27Speaker 1: big thing out of it. What odds do you give
- 39:30Speaker 1: that once the season's over we find out that Mac
- 39:33Speaker 1: that basically play the tight rope searcher basically played the
- 39:36Speaker 1: season on one. Yeah, Warrior, Yeah, I think that there's
- 39:42Speaker 1: definitely that possibility. But I wanted to put that out
- 39:45Speaker 1: there just because I think yesterday I was listening to
- 39:48Speaker 1: your station stations and they're saying that he's milking it.
- 39:56Speaker 1: There was that was the pack that there was no
- 40:00Speaker 1: somebody else around when I saw him limping, So who's
- 40:02Speaker 1: he milking it? For right, Like you know, he's milk,
- 40:05Speaker 1: he's milking it for me, Like I don't think so,
- 40:07Speaker 1: I don't think he's that he doesn't know you. He
- 40:09Speaker 1: swore you. Yeah, so I let's let's cool it with
- 40:12Speaker 1: with the he's I know, I know, tapped. Yeah, anything
- 40:19Speaker 1: else even that you want to uh bring up, you
- 40:22Speaker 1: know when you're a film study out there. I mean,
- 40:26Speaker 1: it is the holidays. I think that the one thing
- 40:28Speaker 1: I'll say because I was in the locker room yesterday
- 40:30Speaker 1: and I think you go into the locker room and
- 40:32Speaker 1: you go out to practice after a loss like that,
- 40:34Speaker 1: and you you do, you do want to see what
- 40:36Speaker 1: the mood is, what's the vibe of the team. And
- 40:39Speaker 1: I had asked um one player a question about the game,
- 40:42Speaker 1: and he totally was like, wiped slate clean. Like I'm
- 40:47Speaker 1: not that's what they've done. I'm not talking about it.
- 40:50Speaker 1: I I and I I kind of said, well, I
- 40:52Speaker 1: just want to get it right, like I'm just asking
- 40:54Speaker 1: you to get it right. And he's like, I appreciate that,
- 40:56Speaker 1: but I'm I'm done talking about that game. Ron to Cincinnati,
- 41:00Speaker 1: it does seem like they're they're trying. I'm not saying
- 41:03Speaker 1: that they're going to go out on Saturday and and
- 41:05Speaker 1: win one for the gipper or so to speak, or
- 41:07Speaker 1: something like that because of that. But I think that
- 41:10Speaker 1: they it does feel like that game is trying to
- 41:13Speaker 1: be put behind them. Were they back on the upper
- 41:16Speaker 1: field today? Lower field again today? Today? And no no
- 41:19Speaker 1: extended access this week? Right, gotta stuff to do? You
- 41:24Speaker 1: think Joe Cardona was the Gippers and in that suits
- 41:26Speaker 1: scenarios one for for Joe maybe? Yeah, anchors away boys.
- 41:33Speaker 1: All right, he chuckled on himself. Five past five hundred
- 41:40Speaker 1: is the a ticket Hutline web radio at Patrice dot com.
- 41:43Speaker 1: All right, let's get right into it. Back to the phones, uh,
- 41:46Speaker 1: Eduardo when La has been holding on for a while.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Hey Eduardo, Hey guys, I'm a first time caller. Thank you?
- 41:54Speaker 1: Yea great? Well, I'm clear excellent. UM, I want to
- 41:58Speaker 1: get started on the game versus the Bengals. Um, what
- 42:02Speaker 1: do we have to do to at least stay competitive
- 42:05Speaker 1: with them? I feel personally that we are front seven
- 42:09Speaker 1: have to be crazy this game, like they need to
- 42:12Speaker 1: get some burrow, they need to stuff to run. Yeah,
- 42:14Speaker 1: I'm with you. Score if they if they can't get
- 42:16Speaker 1: it done, then they're putting up at least thirty five
- 42:19Speaker 1: on Absolutely, they have to score. The offense needs to
- 42:22Speaker 1: be better than it's been. Yeah, complimentary football, and like
- 42:25Speaker 1: you got to score some four. Yeah, I don't disagree
- 42:28Speaker 1: with either of you, but that's not happening. Like this
- 42:30Speaker 1: team's not gonna get which one they're not going to score.
- 42:33Speaker 1: So I agree with the caller that you know, the
- 42:35Speaker 1: one thing on paper that if you put these two
- 42:38Speaker 1: teams up against each other at the Patriots might have
- 42:41Speaker 1: a distinct advantage. And it's their front versus their offensive line,
- 42:45Speaker 1: right like that, that's it. It's the Patriots defensive front
- 42:47Speaker 1: against the Bengals offensive line. And the one thing you
- 42:50Speaker 1: mentioned about film study and stuff like that, I do
- 42:52Speaker 1: want to mention that I thought Christian Barmore looked really good.
- 42:57Speaker 1: He was pretty impactful the entire game. Game. He only
- 43:00Speaker 1: registered one pressure, but the other one got wiped out
- 43:03Speaker 1: because there was a flag on the play on the defense,
- 43:05Speaker 1: so it really was two. And on that final drive
- 43:09Speaker 1: their pass fresh went quiet, but he was actually the
- 43:11Speaker 1: only one that was at least trying to get a
- 43:14Speaker 1: push up the middle. So I would say that that's
- 43:18Speaker 1: good news as Lazar. I don't I don't want any
- 43:23Speaker 1: of Lazar Colins, but I will I will say this
- 43:31Speaker 1: though about the I'm not questioning anybody's effort. I hate
- 43:35Speaker 1: doing that, okay, but on that last drive, the one
- 43:40Speaker 1: guy that made the Pro Bowl from this team, I
- 43:45Speaker 1: need to see more out of him than I saw
- 43:46Speaker 1: on that last drive. You're not the only one to
- 43:48Speaker 1: say that, and I think a lot of it. And
- 43:51Speaker 1: I'm planning on asking him about this today when he
- 43:53Speaker 1: goes to the podium. Is when you ask him to
- 43:55Speaker 1: drop into coverage ten times a game, he's gassed, right,
- 43:59Speaker 1: I mean, that's that's that's not easy to do. He
- 44:01Speaker 1: made that point yesterday. I hadn't thought of it that one, right.
- 44:04Speaker 1: It's a good way of looking at it. And if
- 44:05Speaker 1: that's the case, then I give him the benefit of
- 44:09Speaker 1: the doubt that maybe the role that he was asked
- 44:11Speaker 1: to play in that game. And then all of a sudden,
- 44:13Speaker 1: now you have to pin your ears back on a
- 44:15Speaker 1: drive like that. It's a little bit difficult. But on
- 44:18Speaker 1: fourth and ten in particular, he's got a one on
- 44:21Speaker 1: one against Germaine illuminoire yea and he just doesn't really try.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Here's what I'll say about that, I would not use
- 44:28Speaker 1: the dropping you know into space, you know gas excuse,
- 44:33Speaker 1: because you expend more as much, if not more energy
- 44:37Speaker 1: rushing the passer because you're going up against a guy
- 44:40Speaker 1: and it's like it's you know, hand to hand combat
- 44:43Speaker 1: for that same amount of time. I would say you
- 44:46Speaker 1: expend more energy rushing the passer on every down rather
- 44:50Speaker 1: than dropping back. Yeah, that's that definitely could be true.
- 44:54Speaker 1: I think for what I was more saying is from
- 44:57Speaker 1: a mental standpoint as well, like you have some much
- 45:00Speaker 1: going on in the game that you're you're in different
- 45:02Speaker 1: schemes and different roles and stuff. Yeah, and it's just
- 45:05Speaker 1: a lot going on for him. But I think that
- 45:08Speaker 1: in that drive, I watched it again to make sure
- 45:11Speaker 1: that I knew exactly what happened on that drive because
- 45:14Speaker 1: I feel like an after further review, I didn't talk
- 45:17Speaker 1: about it enough because I was trying not to be
- 45:20Speaker 1: completely negative for the whole article. And on that final drive,
- 45:27Speaker 1: you need a play from your best player on the roster, right.
- 45:32Speaker 1: And I would also throw Uch in this category as well,
- 45:35Speaker 1: who they had chipping Darren Waller instead of rushing, which
- 45:38Speaker 1: drove me nuts. But regardless, you need fourth and ten
- 45:41Speaker 1: like you need a play from him or even as
- 45:44Speaker 1: the sequence continues after fourth and ten, a sack puts
- 45:48Speaker 1: them into six second and seventeen or something like that,
- 45:50Speaker 1: and now all of a sudden, the drive is is
- 45:52Speaker 1: a much more difficult situation. So you just needed one
- 45:56Speaker 1: play from judean or Ucha and they didn't come up
- 45:58Speaker 1: with it, and that was disappointing. All right, thanks, sure,
- 46:03Speaker 1: go ahead. Um I just saw right now Notification Trends
- 46:08Speaker 1: is going to play. Oh is gonna fight. I don't
- 46:11Speaker 1: know if he'll be that effective with a broken wrist,
- 46:13Speaker 1: but if he isn't, that just says a lot of
- 46:15Speaker 1: borrow whoever regards him, you know. Yeah, he's a disruptive guy. Yeah.
- 46:19Speaker 1: I mean he's a good player. I mean I think
- 46:21Speaker 1: he'll he should have his pay his share of plays.
- 46:25Speaker 1: He's a good player. He's better than the two second
- 46:28Speaker 1: year guys. Yeah. No, I don't think Hupboard will play
- 46:30Speaker 1: so that. I mean, I think you catch a break there,
- 46:33Speaker 1: because that's that's a big part of their front. I mean,
- 46:35Speaker 1: it was interesting Bill talking about them yesterday. I just
- 46:37Speaker 1: he doesn't always say this, but he's like it's a
- 46:39Speaker 1: team defense. I mean that's and I think that that,
- 46:41Speaker 1: you know, just sounds stupid, but yeah, sort of been
- 46:45Speaker 1: okay with I mean, they're banged up back, they have
- 46:47Speaker 1: a bunch of they have a lot of injuries on that.
- 46:49Speaker 1: They have a bunch of above average players on defense.
- 46:51Speaker 1: I don't know if star Jay Reader is probably the
- 46:54Speaker 1: closest thing, and he's a hell of a player, but
- 46:58Speaker 1: I don't know if they have you know, Matthews judahon'
- 47:02Speaker 1: is a better player than anybody that they have on
- 47:03Speaker 1: their defense. Like that, That's the way I kind of
- 47:06Speaker 1: look at it. What's frustrating is like I just feel
- 47:08Speaker 1: like they're one of those teams that I used to
- 47:10Speaker 1: think the Patriots were that. No, they're not great, but
- 47:12Speaker 1: they know what they're doing and they all play really
- 47:14Speaker 1: well together, and that seems like what they kind of.
- 47:16Speaker 1: I think they have a good defense, But to Evan's point,
- 47:18Speaker 1: I don't think it's one of those defenses that keeps
- 47:20Speaker 1: you up at night. I think it's I think with
- 47:23Speaker 1: their offense, their defense is good enough. Yeah right. I
- 47:25Speaker 1: think if they had a terrible offense the way the
- 47:27Speaker 1: Patriots have played all year, like, you wouldn't be winning
- 47:30Speaker 1: games because of the defense hanging you in the game
- 47:32Speaker 1: every week. Alex is in Canada. Hey Alex, Hey guys,
- 47:37Speaker 1: how's it going good? Hey? So, Paul, earlier you were
- 47:42Speaker 1: talking about, you know, attitude problems. I think one thing
- 47:45Speaker 1: that's been really frustrating, especially since the Chicago game, is
- 47:49Speaker 1: just like Max's attitude. I mean, you're supposed to be
- 47:54Speaker 1: a captain on this team and you know, leading your
- 47:57Speaker 1: offense and I know it's been a frustrating year and
- 48:00Speaker 1: with Patricia and all that, but the attitude you're putting
- 48:05Speaker 1: out like it's got to reflect on the rest of
- 48:08Speaker 1: the offense and it can't be helping right Like anyway, Yeah,
- 48:12Speaker 1: it's a tough one Alex. And I know Tom Tom
- 48:15Speaker 1: crane out. Yeah, he wrote a pretty scathing column about
- 48:20Speaker 1: Mac and just how you know basically what we've been
- 48:24Speaker 1: saying here. Yeah, you've been dealt a tough lot. Like
- 48:27Speaker 1: it's a bad hand that you got, you know, in
- 48:29Speaker 1: year two getting a defensive coordinator to be your offensive
- 48:32Speaker 1: coordinator wasn't great. But I don't think he's handled it well.
- 48:36Speaker 1: And I think Tom Curran was strong, a lot stronger
- 48:39Speaker 1: than the four of us have been on this topic
- 48:42Speaker 1: direct question yesterday and then he said, like, I'm talking
- 48:44Speaker 1: about the sidelines, does it? You know, how do you use?
- 48:47Speaker 1: So I agree with Alex. I don't think that that's
- 48:49Speaker 1: helped the fact that he has sort of openly expressed
- 48:54Speaker 1: his disdain for what the coaching has been has not
- 48:57Speaker 1: probably rallied the in the Agalres and the Henry's and
- 49:02Speaker 1: everybody else to say, yeah, yeah, we could do this,
- 49:05Speaker 1: we could do this. If he doesn't think they can
- 49:07Speaker 1: do it and he doesn't like what they're doing, right,
- 49:09Speaker 1: it's well, did you I mean him in nature? It's
- 49:11Speaker 1: going to seep through the rest of the offs. Did
- 49:13Speaker 1: you connect the dots during the Maybe it was just
- 49:15Speaker 1: during the game, but with Mac freaking out the sideline
- 49:17Speaker 1: and then he goes out and he rushes the snap
- 49:19Speaker 1: and then they get a you know, the John's not
- 49:20Speaker 1: ready and it just seems like it's taking him out
- 49:22Speaker 1: of the give a little bit. A little while ago,
- 49:24Speaker 1: just said I don't like to call players effort into question.
- 49:27Speaker 1: And the reason why I would assume that you don't
- 49:28Speaker 1: like to do that same reason I don't like to
- 49:30Speaker 1: do because I'm not in someone's mind. I don't know
- 49:32Speaker 1: what the guy's mindset was going into the I think
- 49:34Speaker 1: they're professional athletes, and you know, I'll try that's so
- 49:38Speaker 1: I can tell you there's countless examples I could give
- 49:42Speaker 1: you of when I watched a guy and said, I
- 49:44Speaker 1: even't looked like he was trying all that hard on
- 49:45Speaker 1: that play. But I get I'm with Evan on this.
- 49:48Speaker 1: I don't really like to do that. I don't know
- 49:51Speaker 1: what was in Mac Jones's head on that play. Was
- 49:53Speaker 1: he like still flustered because he was just yelling at
- 49:55Speaker 1: them and had to take another time out and had
- 49:58Speaker 1: a touchdown wiped off the board because of you know this,
- 50:01Speaker 1: and only Mac knows that. I know a lot of
- 50:04Speaker 1: people have said, well, he was all a lot of
- 50:05Speaker 1: swords and then he called for the snap before the
- 50:08Speaker 1: Maybe maybe maybe that happened I'm not telling correctly. Maybe JOHNO.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Smith didn't run into motion as fast as he was
- 50:14Speaker 1: supposed to lined up incorrectly. I don't know. Okay, Yeah,
- 50:18Speaker 1: he wasn't covering the end of the line obviously another mistake.
- 50:22Speaker 1: All I know is he was moving when the ball
- 50:24Speaker 1: was snapped, and that's not supposed to happen. And I
- 50:26Speaker 1: can tell you in high school when I had to
- 50:29Speaker 1: call the snap that was a cardinal sin, Like do
- 50:32Speaker 1: not ever call for the sets the signal until that
- 50:35Speaker 1: guy is set? Yeah, you know, not that we had.
- 50:38Speaker 1: You know, in nineteen eighty five, we didn't have multiple
- 50:41Speaker 1: guys in motion, you know, stepping back off the line.
- 50:44Speaker 1: You know, we didn't have you know power I right,
- 50:51Speaker 1: We're we did. We had a lot of pre snap motion,
- 50:53Speaker 1: but we didn't have a lot of like sort of
- 50:55Speaker 1: motion snap yes, you know, and and and that kind
- 50:58Speaker 1: of stuff. Um, but you know we would, you know,
- 51:01Speaker 1: every once in a while. We've got really crazy And
- 51:03Speaker 1: when pole I write twenty three league, Yeah, well the
- 51:06Speaker 1: SAP and the other thing, and it's it's on two
- 51:10Speaker 1: now because it's on two, and it never I will
- 51:16Speaker 1: say this about the mac thing though this and like
- 51:18Speaker 1: I get it. It makes for good radios. This is exactly.
- 51:22Speaker 1: This is what what we do right in this industry.
- 51:24Speaker 1: But his attitude and all this stuff is such a
- 51:28Speaker 1: small percentage of what I'm concerned about with the quarterback.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Like I just why let's talk about how he's playing
- 51:35Speaker 1: right like, and maybe the attitude stuff is trickling into
- 51:39Speaker 1: his play, But there's issues that I've seen, you know,
- 51:42Speaker 1: really since the Buffalo game that have started to come
- 51:45Speaker 1: up with his mechanics and all that kind of stuff
- 51:47Speaker 1: that I'm far more concerned about than him blowing his
- 51:50Speaker 1: top at Patricia because of the play caller. But the
- 51:52Speaker 1: thing about it is, you know, when he does that,
- 51:57Speaker 1: like he doesn't get a break because we haven't seen
- 52:00Speaker 1: where he gets really mad, yells at somebody or and
- 52:03Speaker 1: then lights it up. Yeah, you know, like the way
- 52:06Speaker 1: Brady would he get furious, or or McEnroe who would
- 52:11Speaker 1: get mad and then he would just turn it on.
- 52:14Speaker 1: We haven't seen that type of emotion be a positive. Evans,
- 52:19Speaker 1: if it was a positive, if he if he used
- 52:21Speaker 1: it as a positive, we wouldn't be so critical. Yeah. No,
- 52:26Speaker 1: I'd just like to Evan's point, if he was Johnny
- 52:28Speaker 1: Popoff and then went out and threw for four hundred
- 52:30Speaker 1: yards Yeah right, Hey, hey, it works for you, I mean.
- 52:32Speaker 1: And that's exactly what his you know, family friend, Pop
- 52:35Speaker 1: Warner coach told me when I interviewed him for you know,
- 52:37Speaker 1: the initial piece we did after they drafted him, and
- 52:40Speaker 1: and his point was that all this emotion stuff, you know,
- 52:43Speaker 1: has happened to him. His whole career, but in Pop
- 52:45Speaker 1: Warner high school, lower level competition, clearly, but he was
- 52:49Speaker 1: able to bounce back, and he was able because you
- 52:50Speaker 1: know so much. I think the way he said, the
- 52:52Speaker 1: way he said it to me was, you know, things
- 52:54Speaker 1: wouldn't be going well and you'd see him kind of
- 52:56Speaker 1: tear up and you'd think he might lose him, and
- 52:58Speaker 1: then he kind of refocused and he get back in
- 53:00Speaker 1: there and do it. I think that's just the part
- 53:01Speaker 1: we aren't seeing here in the NFL. You know, I
- 53:04Speaker 1: definitely think that is something again, I'm gonna reference that
- 53:07Speaker 1: Tom Current piece. I would think that's something that's going
- 53:10Speaker 1: to be on Belichick's mind in the offseason, like we
- 53:12Speaker 1: need to go back and I know that Saban talked
- 53:15Speaker 1: about it a lot with him. That was what the
- 53:16Speaker 1: back and rold thank came from. Belichick is going to say, listen,
- 53:20Speaker 1: we need you to sort of stay stay the course here.
- 53:23Speaker 1: You know, we need to And I don't think Belichick
- 53:26Speaker 1: would want to take the emotion out of it. No,
- 53:27Speaker 1: like you don't need a robot, right, but but you
- 53:31Speaker 1: have to exude confidence in calm and you know, you
- 53:34Speaker 1: know as as a parent, I mean, I you know
- 53:37Speaker 1: something's going wrong, your kids sick or something. You know,
- 53:39Speaker 1: it's you. The team kind of feeds off of your energy.
- 53:42Speaker 1: I like, but like you guys said, I think they
- 53:44Speaker 1: like the energy. It's just you know, you have to
- 53:46Speaker 1: feel like the energy he's exuding is confidence in calm
- 53:50Speaker 1: and that all right, we got this and right now
- 53:52Speaker 1: it feels like he's frazzled like with everybody else. Yeah,
- 53:54Speaker 1: and it does. It also seems like the flexion, like
- 53:57Speaker 1: because it happens when things aren't going right, and you know,
- 54:00Speaker 1: so when things aren't going right, he's yelling, he's questioning,
- 54:04Speaker 1: and you know, it's like, okay, how much is it
- 54:08Speaker 1: all his fault? Patricia yours? You know, it's it always.
- 54:11Speaker 1: It seems like it's deflection because it's always happening when
- 54:15Speaker 1: things aren't going right, and you know, so he needs
- 54:18Speaker 1: to be able to channel it. He is a captain.
- 54:20Speaker 1: It means something. You know, you're a leader. People are
- 54:22Speaker 1: looking to you for guidance and you know, so it's
- 54:27Speaker 1: just it's something that they're going to have to address
- 54:30Speaker 1: in the off season. I mean, I think to the
- 54:31Speaker 1: bigger point is that Max probably going to be the
- 54:35Speaker 1: quarterback next year. I just think it's the offensive operation
- 54:38Speaker 1: and the pieces around him that's what needs the attention first.
- 54:41Speaker 1: And if and if they do that and Max still
- 54:43Speaker 1: is middling and up and down and all these kind
- 54:46Speaker 1: of problems next year, you know, then then maybe you
- 54:49Speaker 1: start to talk about, all right, is he the answer?
- 54:50Speaker 1: But nobody, nobody can get year two in this situation
- 54:53Speaker 1: and figure out what they are and who they are
- 54:55Speaker 1: as they've had no success, he's had no confidence building
- 54:59Speaker 1: games where hey, it's starting to click. It's like every
- 55:01Speaker 1: time you go into one of these press conferences, it's
- 55:03Speaker 1: the same thing. It's well, you know, just we're working
- 55:05Speaker 1: hard at it. We're gonna get it, you know when
- 55:07Speaker 1: you're like, I mean, it's frustrating for us to listen
- 55:09Speaker 1: to because it's just like, dude, we've been listening to
- 55:11Speaker 1: this to August, Like, you know, I'm sure it's just
- 55:13Speaker 1: as frustrating for them to have to watch it and
- 55:15Speaker 1: Ton Kenyon you get those corrections and everything. One other
- 55:19Speaker 1: thing I want to bring up Michael Lombardi yesterday. I
- 55:23Speaker 1: don't know if you heard his quotes. You know, he
- 55:25Speaker 1: was on his podcast and you know he came like
- 55:29Speaker 1: and we know he's connected to Bill. Now we don't
- 55:31Speaker 1: What we don't know is does he still talk to
- 55:33Speaker 1: him at length and is he getting insight? Was that
- 55:36Speaker 1: was that Vegas this summer, like he came by practicing,
- 55:38Speaker 1: so you know, like what does he know right now
- 55:41Speaker 1: about what's going on with the team. But he said
- 55:43Speaker 1: that about the Patricia thing, it's a failed experiment, you know,
- 55:47Speaker 1: And I thought that was like, okay, because he wasn't
- 55:50Speaker 1: saying that early. You're saying Max gotta stop throwing interceptions
- 55:54Speaker 1: right like, and when you know, like before the season,
- 55:56Speaker 1: he wasn't questioning the move to make he never did that.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Now he's saying it's a failed experiment, and I thought
- 56:03Speaker 1: that was something, you know, for him to say that
- 56:06Speaker 1: it is a failed experiment. And I think the biggest
- 56:08Speaker 1: thing that with Mac is you know, kind of valuating
- 56:13Speaker 1: him moving forward and if he's the answer and all
- 56:15Speaker 1: that kind of stuff. Is when other teams dink around
- 56:19Speaker 1: with their young quarterbacks, we always say, well that situation
- 56:22Speaker 1: like wasn't fair right last year Trevor Lawrence, Right, Oh, well,
- 56:25Speaker 1: he's a good player, but he was just dealt a
- 56:28Speaker 1: crap hand justin fields. We've used that excuse for him
- 56:31Speaker 1: go all right on down the Really the only one
- 56:33Speaker 1: that hasn't had that excuses Zach Wilson. I think everybody's
- 56:36Speaker 1: just like, well, he's just not very good, right. But
- 56:38Speaker 1: with Mac, it seems to me like we should be
- 56:41Speaker 1: giving him the same benefit of the doubt that the
- 56:43Speaker 1: Jaguars gave Trevor Lawrence and the Bears have given Justin Fields.
- 56:46Speaker 1: And I think it was Mike who said it earlier.
- 56:48Speaker 1: If next year they give him that stable situation and
- 56:52Speaker 1: it doesn't look any better, then we can have the
- 56:54Speaker 1: conversation about him being the answer here long term. But
- 56:58Speaker 1: you just can't judge anything off of this season with
- 57:01Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence. I mean Trevor Lawrence right like, I mean,
- 57:03Speaker 1: he's playing well, he's probably like you know, there was
- 57:05Speaker 1: a difference clearly with how they changed the operation around him,
- 57:08Speaker 1: gave him. Christian Kirk, I mean it's you know, he
- 57:10Speaker 1: said that guy. I was complimenting his point. Doug Peterson
- 57:15Speaker 1: always a well known defensive coach. You were, you were out,
- 57:19Speaker 1: But what did you think of uh, Mike Lombardi's comments yesterday?
- 57:22Speaker 1: If you're careful about it being a failed So I
- 57:25Speaker 1: have to go off of what he said yesterday, not
- 57:27Speaker 1: what he said like the last time, right when it
- 57:29Speaker 1: was directly the It was direct opposition of what he
- 57:32Speaker 1: originally said, right when he called us naive if we
- 57:36Speaker 1: thought it was about coaching, that's right, Yeah, that's a
- 57:38Speaker 1: direct quote, so naive. So do you think that his change,
- 57:42Speaker 1: um was because he talked to somebody or just convinced himself.
- 57:46Speaker 1: All right, so you guys, do we have we We
- 57:49Speaker 1: don't have we have that like um that. So basically
- 57:52Speaker 1: he went through a long thing and said, you know,
- 57:54Speaker 1: they don't have any plan, they have no coaching. They
- 57:57Speaker 1: like playing battleship. Was the analogy. He did the same thing.
- 58:00Speaker 1: We said, they're just running place. They're just running place.
- 58:02Speaker 1: Blah blah, blah, blah blah. He was very critical of
- 58:04Speaker 1: the offensive coaching, which I think we all agree with, right,
- 58:08Speaker 1: we're all on board with, except for it's exactly the
- 58:10Speaker 1: opposite of what he said about eight weeks ago. But
- 58:12Speaker 1: that's neither here nor there. My guest, Freddie, if you're
- 58:14Speaker 1: asking me, my feeling is there's two things. Number One,
- 58:19Speaker 1: he probably has an idea that the guys who were
- 58:22Speaker 1: in charge of the offense will not be in charge
- 58:24Speaker 1: of the offense next year. So now he can freely
- 58:26Speaker 1: take shots at the lieutenants because he's backing up Bill.
- 58:29Speaker 1: It's not Bill's vault, it's the lieutenant's vault, even though
- 58:32Speaker 1: Bill put the lieutenants in place. Whatever the other thing.
- 58:35Speaker 1: And I do not dismiss this part of it. His
- 58:39Speaker 1: son was one of the offensive lieutenants last year. Man,
- 58:42Speaker 1: he's no longer here anymore. Yeah, because he said another
- 58:45Speaker 1: thing that I thought was laughably ridiculous at the end
- 58:48Speaker 1: of that rant. So Mick Lombardi is now an offensive
- 58:52Speaker 1: coach and the Raiders. He was an offensive coach of
- 58:56Speaker 1: course with the Patriot With the Patriots. That's why I
- 58:58Speaker 1: said he's not here's the wide receivers, because we know
- 59:00Speaker 1: that Josh is really running my offense. Okay, So I
- 59:05Speaker 1: think he's telling you this is what happens when you
- 59:08Speaker 1: take away good coaches and you leave him with defensive
- 59:11Speaker 1: guy like I think he's trying to defend his son
- 59:13Speaker 1: a little bit too. And the reason why he said
- 59:15Speaker 1: he never said that when it happened, no, And the
- 59:17Speaker 1: reason why I think he's talking about something. But I
- 59:21Speaker 1: think he had something about his son in mind when
- 59:23Speaker 1: he was when he was ripping, is, well, you know
- 59:27Speaker 1: they're not doing they have enough to be a good offense,
- 59:30Speaker 1: which again I think the four of us probably they
- 59:32Speaker 1: have enough to be better than this offensively, let's put it.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I've always said, right, okay, I mean better than this.
- 59:38Speaker 1: I don't know how good you think they can be,
- 59:39Speaker 1: but they should be better than this. They have more
- 59:43Speaker 1: on offense than the Raiders, which to me is that
- 59:47Speaker 1: which is a direct the indication that he's defending his
- 59:52Speaker 1: son more talent than the Raiders. He said it, that
- 59:58Speaker 1: was all part of the rim, and it was. And
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: then as it is funny because he's so stubborn, maybe
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: he meant because of the injuries to the readers, he's
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: still yeah, he's so stubborn that I think as he
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: started to say it, he realized how silly it sounded,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: because when they have Adams. But like, okay, so that's
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: like saying okay, so you might. I mean you could
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: go and on paper and say, well the Adams is
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: better than anything the Patriots have. But if you wanted
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: to make the argument that Myers and born in Agalore
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: are better than number two, I wouldn't make that. I
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: wouldn't make that argument, but if you wanted to, it's
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: irrelevant because even if you say they have one and
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: you have two, three and four, the gap between their
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: one in your two, three and four is so enormous.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: You can't tell me that the Patriots weapons are better.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Then he goes, you know, and they have Waller like
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: that hasn't played all year. But but I'm just saying,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: like he's just talking about the personnel, Like to Fred's point,
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: he wasn't talking about the injuries, right, He's defending the
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: fact that the Raiders have been wretched on offense all
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: season because his son is the offensive cordiare anybody looking
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: at the personnel of the Raiders offense and the Patriots offense,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: The only edge that you might give the Patriots is
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: offensive line, right, because the offensive line and with the
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Raiders is a complete and total mess. They had three
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: backups out there on Sunday. I will say this though
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: his son last year, Mick coach wide receivers, and the
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: wide receivers last year are much better than they are
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: this year. But that's I just I don't want to
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: throw all of it at Matt, Patricia and Joe Judge's
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: feet because I'm starting to look a little bit at
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Troy Brown as well, because the way that these guys
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: run routes, the spacing of the timing of the routes,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: like all of it is a mess. And Tyclon Thornton
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: is an absolute mess. I mean watching that guy run
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: routes is painful. So I just think that all of
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: these pieces, it's like, Okay, well, maybe it's the design
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: of the play is telling them to run the routes
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: here and there, and the designs are broken. But my
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: guess is when they put it up on the whiteboard
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: and they hand them the tablet with the playbook, like
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: they're not telling them to run routes on top of
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: each other. That's the execution of the play And that
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: comes back to how the receivers are being coached, like
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: it just has to, you know. Like we love Troy Brown,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I mean he was missed a Patriot and when he
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: played his football, iq was out of the out of
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: the universe, like he just instinctively knew what to do.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Sometimes it's like Ted Williams, like he couldn't coach hitting
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: because for him, it was instinctual. It was like, you know,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: and he couldn't understand why everybody else didn't know that.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: And like, I wonder what Troy like great player football IQ,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: I'm enormous, but like, does it translate? Is he able
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: to teach guys to play that way? It's not. It's
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: not that easy when it's comes so easy to you.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: So you know, a couple of years ago is I
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: think his nineteen Troy did a lot of work with
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Jacobe and they would work after practice up up in
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: the virtual room they call it, where they have a
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: little like twenty yards of turf that they would just
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: run the initial state, you know, the release and the
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: stem and then you know, you don't run forty yards
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: down the field obviously, but you work on the initial
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: technique of the route. But he was working on them
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: with technique and the details and stuff like that. But
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Mick was coaching the bigger picture, right, or Joe Judge
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: at that time was coaching the bigger picture. So I
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: just wonder if maybe he's a really good technique coach, right,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: And I've seen these guys that are private technique coach
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: to right, right, But I don't know if the message
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: is getting across for the structure of the entire play,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: and so that I think is something that has to
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: be talked about as well, because the routes that these
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: guys are running, they're rounding them off, they're not precise,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: they're not timed up with the quarterback like it's a
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: big problem. So it's it's all the pybodies. But to me,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: that goes back to Patricia because you know he's as
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: a coordinator, he would recognize that and you know in practice,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: you know do that overall, you know, structural uh, setting
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: up of the play, how it's supposed to look. This
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: is how the place is supposed to look. That's the
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: other question that I have, and we don't, unfortunately get
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: to watch does it look good in practice? And I
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: don't mean does it like they're like you know that right,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: it's I'm not saying it's the O seven Patriots out there,
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: but I'm just saying, does the spacing, does the timing?
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Does it? Do they hit it in practice? And then
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: they get into the games and when it's actually live
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: is when it goes off the rails? Or is this
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: always a mess? Right? I think that's an Unfortunately we
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: don't get to watch practice when we did it didn't
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: look good right well, and that's why and Evan before
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: you came aboard, you know, and these two guys will
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: tell you I didn't share their over the top enthusiasm
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: for how great the offense could be. But that doesn't
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: mean I thought it would be this like, No, this
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: is below the line. I can't believe. I still can't
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: believe that it hasn't really gotten any better at any
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: point all year. I like, I never would have thought that, ever,
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: as much as I wasn't saying like, well, they got
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: this guy, they got that guy, they got there. I
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: thought they lost some pieces of the offensive line and
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: that would be a you know, a never the ever
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: envisioned we had was the Minnesota game. That was the
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: glimmer of hope, and then it just reverted right back
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: and a quarter it was gone. So I actually watched
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: that tape again because I was curious, And when I
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: broke it down a second time, I was like, was
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: this really that good? Like? And you kind of looked
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: at it, and a lot of the what I came
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: away from it was in that game they happened to
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: win some one on one matchups in the secondary, you know,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: DeVante Parker beats his guy on the outside and they
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: throw a bomb hunter Henry's wide open off of play
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: action for the big touchdown. But when you actually break
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: down the routes and how it all looked, it still
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: looked like a mess. And I think Hurt Warner pointed
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: this out on the big video that he did about it,
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: where it was like, this is a difference between things
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: that can flash for one game versus consistently being able
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: to execute it every single week. That game was a
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: flash in the pan. That game was We got some
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: good matchups, we had some situational play calls that ended
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: up working out, but when you actually look at the
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: big picture, we're not going to be able to do
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: it again next week. And that's where we're at. Let's
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: get back to the phones. We'll go to William and
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: philam what's up? William, Hey for what's going on? All right?
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I have so many things that I will ask, but
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: I'll just I want to ask Evan one question and
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: then the other one will be tours like just before,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: it will be for everybody basically, and it'll be about
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: Mac and it's just say Mac as far as is
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: what's around him basin, So I'll start this one first
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: with well, I don't say about shop for got deaf. Well,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna say I start with mac for man. So okay, y'all,
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: I don't want to say just pages on filter, but
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: I will say fans, the media, everybody as a whole.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: You know, y'all saying that, Okay, well, he gets angry,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: he getself said, he acts like spoiled brat, just that
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: third blah blah blah blah blah. Okay, I see some
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: of that too, you know. I'm with y'all with that,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: But the part I'm not with y'all. He's not Tom Brady.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: He's not He's right. I know y'all want to see
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: him do that like, Okay, he's mad, he's upset. This okay,
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: let's go walk. Let's see you break off almost three
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: something your uh passing yards and whatever like that. It's
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: mechanics is broken. Gentleman. Well, I go. You had Bill
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: has diminished him, and many have toward this young man
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: up apart, you know, and everybody's come then I understand
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: he takes some it's something. So it's your point. It's
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: your pint, William. It's your point that he has a
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: right to act the way he's acting. No, no, no, no, no,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: no no no, I'm not somebody how he's active. No,
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: his acting that that's no, that's uncalled for. But what
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: I'm saying is the comparison that y'all doing with him,
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like because you preparing him
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: to the goal, are you? No, I'm not compared him
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: to Tom Brady. I mean. The only thing I said
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: is like, if we saw him use that emotion positively,
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: like at the result, like he came out and played better,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I think we give him more of a break. But
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: it doesn't. It's not work for him. It doesn't work
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: for him, It doesn't work for anybody on the sideline
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: or his teammates. It's not positive. But here's the problem
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: for it. He's broken. You see what I'm saying. Okay,
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: that could be true, you think about right for Okay,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: from twenty okay, twenty twenty one, y'all can't say that
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: he had pretty much of a good rookie season, correct, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Josh McDaniels in twenty twenty one. So man, initially he
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: got Matt Patricia. We all know he doesn't know anything
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: about you know, the offensive side of things, Joe, Why
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: why do you think macsh I mean, McCain should be
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: how him and stuff like and being disrespectful. Yea, I'm
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: not saying that, But what I'm saying is I could.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: I could see it from a far from and so
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: can you. You can see it? Why don't agree? I
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: don't think anyone's arguing when you with you there, I
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: think you know that's not even I mean even thanks
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: for the car. It's been the big I think Mike, Mike,
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Mike Lombardi agrees with you. That's been the big thing,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: you know, throughout the season is and I think the
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: vast majority of people feel the way. William just explains that, yes,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: Mac Jones hasn't played well. This is why. It's not
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: his fault. This is why. Yeah, but I think most
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: people and around here, if you listen to them, and
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: and and he don't blame him right now. He can't
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: control who the offensive coordinators, and he can't control a
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: lot of things, but he can't control his emotions. Yeah,
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: And and like it's one thing to be fiery, but
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: like I said the other day, to tell your coach go,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: you know, get the f out of here or shut
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: the f up that that that's over the line. It's
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: over the line. You know. It's it's one thing to
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: be emotional, but that's I would like to it's dismissive
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: at this point, like go all in with it, though,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: because like on Saturday against the Bengals, what I would
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: like to see is a group of offensive players that
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: finally stand up and they're like, we're better than this,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: and like, regardless of how awful the coaching is and
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: regardless of how awful the play calls are. And I'm
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: not saying go Row because if they did that, so
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: I'm not saying go Row, but I'm saying go make plays,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: like like, if you're good enough, you should be able
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: to overcome bad coaching at least to us at least,
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: it should shouldn't be this. Yeah, I'm not saying do
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: it for the whole course of a season, but from
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: one game, Like, can you like if Hunt, if Hunter
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Henry isn't the Gang of Five or whatever, don't drop
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: the ball, then I you know, I don't like, don't
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: complain if you're not gonna catch the ball. Yeah, I
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: just I also think it feeds into you know, I
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: think we all agree that Matt needs things around him,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: And I don't want to say that it has to
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: be perfect, but this kind of stuff makes you wonder
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: how perfect does it have to be for him? Like
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: what's the bar in terms of, you know, challenges that
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: he has to deal with if he has to go
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: into a game in a couple of years without his
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: best receiver and you know, like, I just don't have
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: a lot of confidence right now that when his backs
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: against the wall that you're going to get his best football.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: And I think that's you know, feeds into the emotion point,
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: but I just where's the bar? Like, it's very rarely
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: perfect for any quarterback in this NFL. Everybody's going to
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: have something that they have to work, some kind of challenge.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: So you know, at some point he's always gonna have
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: to his challenge his health, not having a Yeah, I mean,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: he can't stay healthy. But yeah, let's go to what
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: I thought. We were hoping that he was a lot
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: better than two. It wasn't that the mindset last year.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: Let's go to Kevin in South Carolina. Hey, Kevin, Hey guys,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: I wish you guys a merry Christmas and a happy year.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: Thank you. Kevin. I just want to I want to
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: kind of go back to what you started the show
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: with of the new YouTube NFL agreement, and I got
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: I gotta will bone to pick with the NFL over
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: this because I know you guys said like the pricing
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: will probably be the same as what it is now
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: for direct TV. Hell, I'm a guy that I moved
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: out of Massachusetts four years ago, and I've slowly lost
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: touch with all the sports teams except football except the Patriots.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: Like I didn't see any of the Red Sox last year.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: I haven't watched any of the Bruins, any of the Celtics.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: But yet I'm somebody that still falls the Patriots. I
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: watch every game that's available down here that's on I
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: think it's six and maybe it's think seven this week
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: because we're going to get the Patriots games this weekend.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: I've got the NFL Plus and so I'll listen to
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: the game because you can't watch the game live if
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: it's not on my pocket game. Um, and uh, you
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: know some sometimes I end up watching the game. Now, Yeah,
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: I looked to it. All right, we we got to
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: I mean, it's go ahead, okay, but get to your point,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: because we have a lot of people that want to
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: and pit on and X oh right, so so so
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: the so uh the NFL, the Apple was the one
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: that had the I was supposed to have the deal
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: or was like they had Yeah, they were close. Yeah okay,
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: And reportedly the thing that broke that kind of broke
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: it was they wanted to cut the price for what
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: for the package because they wanted to just get people
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: to kind of go to their platform, and the NFL
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: didn't want to do that. Well, to just think that's
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: so short sighted and stupid by the NFL um to
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: do that, m because I'm gonna tell you, I'm not
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: going to pay it. If it's what it is for
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: direct TV, I'm not going to pay for it, Okay.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: And so so that's just why I want to say
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: about that. All right, all right, okay, but thanks Kevin. Yeah,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: I mean I'm just from Afar. I've never had to
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: worry about this because I'm in market obviously. But like
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: the NFL was, sixteen games a year, you can follow
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: your team without buying it, Yeah, seventeen games a year,
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: you can buy your You can follow your team without
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: having to buy anything because you're gonna be on National
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: TV a couple of times you're going to get a
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: game in market even when you're out of you know
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: what I mean. Yeah, like you can if you don't
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: buy something for the Celtics Bruins in Red Sox, they're
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: not going to be on National TV anywhere near that
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: percentage of time that you can follow it, right, So
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: like you can say it's too expect Yeah, as well,
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: like just to let people know, like you can buy
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: a Fubo subscription, you can buy Sling TV, Like there's
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: other alternatives to getting out of market games that they
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: have with streaming now other than this. So there you go.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: There's it's just so much easier to watch the NFL. Yeah,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: all right, we're gonna take a quick break when we
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: come back, a couple more calls, and then we'll get
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: into some picks. Verizon, the network America relies on and

- 1:23:12Speaker 1: my tonsils out and I had a Back then you
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: stayed overnights, but this was planned. I mean back then,
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: I sucked my thumb and I had a blanket, and
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: uh I did you know? I stopped that last year.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: But we know who the pussy is now. So you're
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: in this crib at night, and you know, of course
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: if you need anything, you you had a button to,
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: you know, get the nurse there. So I realized my
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: blanket was in my suitcad suck it with so I remember,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: I remember being this little kid, but you know, so
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: I pressed the button in. The nurse comes over and
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: she says, well, you know what do you need? I said,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: in that suitcase, there's a blanket. I need it. And
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: this thing was like tattered because I had literally had
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: it since I had been born, you know, like where
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: I rubbed it. It was all worn out and everything.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: So the nurse goes in, she goes this thing and
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: I remember too, I said, just give it to me.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: I was like five, or just give it to me.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: That's another great moment from uh Bridge Stone is the

- 1:24:19Speaker 1: I know you're a blanky guy. Oh yeah, I was
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: a big Linus guy. Yeah. Yeah, my sister was too,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: that guy on was I had one my parents called
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: rotten rag and it started out as a blanket and
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: then it just got destroyed. Oh yeah, it's like gross, no,
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: but like this, this was a white blanket, had a
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: bunny in the middle, and my aunt made it for
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: me when I was born, literally when I was born.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: And like when I say the thing was in tatters,
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: because I would, you know, rub it. Yeah, And it
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: was just you had to find a corner every time
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: you because it was all worn away, you know. That's yeah.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: And I probably did have it longer than I should have.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: Like my grandmother once threw it in the garbage and
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: I went and got it. My sister did too. I
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: hope she's not listening, because I did see her today, um,
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: and she she still liked to have it when she
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: went on sleepovers and stuff, even like college, and she
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: would but she would just slip it in her in
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: her pillowcase. Yeah, and she did it at a hotel
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: like when she's an adult, and she forgot it and
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: then she was calling the hotel to be like extreme
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: sentimental value. I mean, like this is the blankie that
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: she's you know. That's that's how it went out. I
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: remember the first sleepover. I was gonna supposed to sleep
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: over Michael Dela Cruz's house, and at first it was like, oh,
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: this is great, and then the more I thought about it,
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: it's like, well, how am I going to explain this?
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: You know? So like I was like distraught. My mother
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: was like, let's just call him. We'll call him and
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: let him And it turns out like he had one too,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: So everything was great, you know, but like it was
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: a big deal. How am I going to do this?
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: I had a beanie baby that I got when my
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: grandmother passed away, so I meant a lot to me.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: And when I went away to summer camp, my I
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: was didn't want to like be the one with the
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: teddy bear, right, so I was embarrassed by kind of
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: like Fred and my mom like made me this like
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: little pouch, like she sewed it and it was like
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: a little pouch that they like lived in, but they
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: didn't like you couldn't tell what it was, right, And
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: I guess she had like paid like one of her
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: friends like had said that they did the same for
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: their their kid in a similar situation. And he had
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: like some sort of you know, people are like, what
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: a bunch of pussies? Yeah we say that back then.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: I don't know if you could say that, no fire,
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: just little kids. Did he ever come out of the
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: pouch after that point or did he live in the pouch?
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: He lived in the pouch, and I'm pretty sure he's
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: he's at my parents house, still in in the pouch.
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: But I was obvious, Yeah, you know it was. I
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: was like six because stick your hand a little bit. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: all right, I could deal with any let's take in
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: a couple of calls here, not like I didn't. I
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: just didn't have any of that stuff. Yeah, Paul had
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: his book, you know, with all the bets in it,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: you know, right, I don't know what was that like
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: an Italian shot Like that's not okay either, But I'm Italian,
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: so automatically iran book, right, I imagine what you're doing
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: it's not okay. You just said that like way too
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: easy Italian effort and that the city kids, city kid right. Uh,
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: Chester's in Arizona. What's up Chester by Apparel? Hey boys,
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: that'd be Holiday Mary Christmas to you guys. Real quick
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: Foot shout out to William and fill him for his
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: aws and calls continually. Um, I just I love listening
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: to that guy's calls. He's awesome. Unlike the other Christian
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: in La Chris with an NF you bust to wow,
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: oh love, got to bring it back. Not enough of
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: that going around these days. But you know, quick Brand,
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: I know we got a hurry here. But you know,
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: last time I called last week, I got some black
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: from Falling for sounding disheartened. And I think last game
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: really kind of summed this up as why you know,
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: this is the sloppiest team in Belichick Arab hands down.
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: I mean period. It's been said so many times on
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: this show. You know, just like porn, it's just like
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: you know when you see it and it's just it's
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: just not clicking, as you guys say week after week.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: You know that caller from Canada was dead on and
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: saying the max attitude is absolutely toxic and to me,
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: you know, the quarterback sets the sone for the offense,
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: and I feel like in so many ways he's failed
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: the team and just trying to keep them going forward
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: and trying to get continually better. Ye I want to
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: buy it on this kid, but you know, I'm having
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: a really hard time doing it between the dantrums, the
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: indecision and and something like he's baked every single press conference.
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: I want a leader. I want somebody he's an alpha
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: dog who's gonna go out there and show me he's
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: the leader this damn team. It's frustrating his health, but
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: you know, beyond that, Uh, it's year two. It's way
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: too early for this. I mean, you know he shouldn't.
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: He should be keeping his mouth shut and learning his
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: year two. He's not like a three four year veteran
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: where you can sorry. Way too early, now, How was
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: that too much to ask? Chester? That's I'm looking for
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: a little passion. That's chest Chester's back. That's what I'm
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: looking for. You're gonna get involved, good call, Chester. I know, listen,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: I know it's a jovial weekend with the upcoming holiday,
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: but for me, with all due respect, Christmas falls on
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: the table. It's time for this defense and offensive line
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: to get physical, and it's time for the fantas. Let
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: make some noise, period and bottom line, I'm done after
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: this line here. The way that I see it is
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: that if this team doesn't respond with some fire, it's
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: time to can Patricia and the Joe Judge clown show
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: sitting back for the rest of the year and give
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: me some snappy Let's do what this guy can do.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: I'm absolutely done if it ain't happening in this Saturday.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: All right, get that win Christmas? All right? Call thanks
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: Chester's see you guys. You guys haven't been around for
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: a long time. With with Chester. That's what Fred and
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: I have become accustomed to hearing Chester. That's usually positive.
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: How we're gonna beat the team? Correct, but right, we
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: can't do that. But that kind of like high energy
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: and fashion going after other callers. I like it. I
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: like that caller and call a crime is fine. Dwayne's
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: in Boston, Hey Dwayne, Hey, Mac Joe sucks. He's a
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: coward and I hate him. Wow. All right? Is that
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: the most boring phase of the Patriots of my lifetime?
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: Watching the Patriots? I don't I can. You can tell
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: me that you're satisfied watching mc jones, but you cannot
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: tell me that you're entertained. It's like watching that New
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: Batman movie. The New Batman movie was decent. Fred, Yeah,
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: Fred and Matt will be very upset at you. But
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: can I ask you a quick Dwayne? Can I ask
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: you a quick question? You were not entertained? I guarantee
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: I was entertained. A good movie, the whole film. But
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: that's not my point. All Right, great great music, Dwayne,
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: real quick? How old are you? Thirty eight? Little lord? Okay, Yeah,
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: that's why this is This is probably the most boring
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: team of your lifetime. Yeah, absolutely, No, two thousand probably
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: be in that conversation. Yeah, you're a little young for that.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Listen back, Patricia. This one thing that always gets overlooked
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: by Matt Patrician. People keep gonna talk about how bad
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: he is as an offensive coordinator. He was also baded
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: as a defensive coordinator. And he's also terrible at player personnel.
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: He was in the room, but the twenty twenty one
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: draft and the twenty twenty two drafts he drafted a
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: quarterback that can't throw and he and he was in
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: the room as they drafted a layment that can't block.
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: I don't trust anything on this offense. We're putting Matt
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Patricia in the category of player personnel. Now, he was
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: in the room. You can look at it. Okay, so
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: was our camera guy, Chris. He was in the room.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: Due did he make the pick? Hey, I mean when
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: listen when when Bill Belichick was making the pick, he
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: looked directly at Patricia. He said, are we Is this
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: the guy we're going with? And he got the nuts
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: he got not for Patricia and all of the other
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: player personnel guys. And my only point is, yes, I understand,
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: maybe yes, that blame should go on Bill the check.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: But my point is that anything that Patricia has his
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: fingers on turns to crap. I saw the Patriots defense
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: turned the crap, and I see. There's no question that
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: all of the players that were signed in the offseason
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: in twenty penny one are terrible. And yes, Mac Jones
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: was the first player that was picked in that draft,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: and I do not trust that he has any future
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: in the NFL or with the Patriots. By the way,
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: all of these Alabama quarterbacks have been terrible. They all
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: brittle robots. If they don't have an extremely great constructure
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: around them, they just break down and they can't take
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: a hit. We've seen it with all three of them.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: Jale hurts with Mac Joe spoil your rants. Yeah, I
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: like the passion. I like the passion, but I don't
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: agree with all of it. Like listen, I agreed Patricia
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: failed experiment, whatever you want to call But he hasn't
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: been a total failure his whole career. He was a
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: decent defensive coach. He did something. Yeah, he's not a
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: total like people are like, you know, like going to
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: over the edge on their criticism of him. You know,
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: it gets too too far from me when you start
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: saying that he drafted Mac Jones, Like can we stop
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: with that? Like, come on him? He's pulling. All right,
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: it's that time of the week, and I apologize. I
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: apologize for those emails. I didn't get to um, but
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: John Rook in the playbook will get to them after
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: this show. But yes, go ahead with the music, all right, Paul,
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: what happened last week? All right? It was another good
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: week for all involved, except for Evan because he blew
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: us off. UM. So, Evan, you're not gonna do picks.
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: What are you doing? Don't forget? Uh So last week Mike,
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: Paul and fread thirteen and three. Wow, Alex was eleven
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: and five with the spread. It's a queen clean sweep
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: all the way across Mike, Alex, Paul, Fred all nine
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: six and one. So good week for everybody. Last week,
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: I am one forty two eighty and two Mike one
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: forty one, eighty one and two. I've I've maintained that
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: one game lead for like three weeks in a row.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: That's because Mike picks everything you pack. I go first, Fred,
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: he does, he goes first, so you can blame me
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: for that. Fred one thirty four eighty eight and two.
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: Alex is seventy four and forty seven even ninety one
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: fifty two and one with the spread. I am one
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: twenty nine ninety one and four. Mike one twelve, one
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: oh eight and four, Fred one oh one one nineteen
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: and four. So that's where we stand. All right. Let's
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: start it out with tonight on Prime Video eight fifteen.
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: The six and eight Jaguars are at the seven and
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: seven Jets. That that's by two. Did you say something
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: about there's doing something different with this game tonight. Nope, Oh,
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: I thought you said something about camera angles just the Amazon. Yeah,
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: they've been doing kind of advanced view which they have
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: like next gen stats pop up. They get a big
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: wide all twenty two view on your smart TV. You
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: can get all that's pretty cool. Yeah. I don't know.
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: I haven't really seen any of the games, so okay,
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: I've missed it. I don't care about the next gen stats,
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: but the different camera angles i'd be interested in. Uh So,
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: Zach Wilson is back in for the Jets. Um big
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: game for them. No, Jacksonville is making a little search.
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with the Jagson. Would you say the
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: number was Paul two two? I'm gonna go Jacksonville on
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: the road. I'll take those two points. This, I guess
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: leaves me. Um. Yeah, I'm gonna take the Jets. I
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: think the Jags are coming on, but I think this
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: is one of those I'm not sure that they're they're
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: ready for, so I'm gonna take the job. I'm not
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: sure the Jets are already hard either, especially with Zach Wilson,
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: So I'll take the Jets at home. The Jets favored
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: by two yes, yeah, yeah, so I will I'll take
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: the Jets, but I'll take the points. I love when
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: he does that one. Yeah. Um, I want to go
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: with the Jaguars. I've been going with the Jaguars and
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: they've you know, rewarded me of late. But I just
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: think that Jets defense just a little bit too watch
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: back to Yeah, this is to me a Thursday night
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: home game pick for me, Like if this was at Jacksonville,
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: it be Jacksonville all the way. Um, I think the
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: Thursday night's tough. Uh oh yeah. So I've been told
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: that we're losing cameras because of press conferences going on
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: at the same time. So goodbye to YouTube live. But
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: you can still listen to us. We're not going anywhere.
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: Picks still coming. Yeah. Sunday at one, the five and
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: nine Falcons are at the nine and five Ravens, Baltimore
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: by seven and a half. Get anything on La Marvels.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: I thought it was trending towards him coming back too,
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: And in that case, I'm gonna take Baltimore to win,
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: but I'm gonna I'm gonna hedge that bet a little
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: bit and I'm gonna take the points from Atlanta Mike's
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: got it right. I think seven and a half is
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: too much for Baltimore that does not score like that.
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: So I will take Baltimore to win, but I'll take
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: the points. Same here Sunday at one, the seven and
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: seven Lions are at the five and nine Panthers Detroit
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: by three. The last time Detroit was a road favorite. Yeah,
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: I like it, though, I'm gonna go with those Lions
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: on the road. I'll lay those points. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: take Detroit too. I just think they're a much different
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: team than they were when they were one and six. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: Detroit both ways. Sunday at one eleven and three Bills
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: at the three and eleven there, Buffalo by eight. Supposed
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: to be ridiculously cold and windy in this game. In case,
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Buffalo to win. I'll take the eight points.
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: Though soon it'll be a low scoring affair. Then, yeah,
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: I will take Buffalo both ways. I don't know how Chicago.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: You know, if it's just a running game, Yeah, it's
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: it's tough. I think Buffalo will contain Fields a little bit.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: And I have more faith in Josh Allen in the
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: in the elements than I do Justin Fields. Ah, that
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: elbow a little cranky in the cold. I'm gonna take
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: the bills, but I'm gonna take the points. I'm with
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: deuced nim Sunday at one, five and nine Saints at
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: the six and eight Browns. Cleveland buy three by three.
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I like that. I like that number. I'm
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: gonna take Cleveland at home. Yeah. I like Cleveland too.
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: I think with each passing week, Watson looks a little
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: bit more comfortable. Still hasn't clicked yet, but you know
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: they have won two out of three since he came back,
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: and I think they make it three or four. Yeah,
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: this is trending for a perfect week for me. Browns win,
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: but I'll take those points. Sunday at I'll tell you
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: if he ends up being perfect with the picks that
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: he's making the impressive like he's taking like two points
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: and three points, that'd be very impressive. Sunday at one,
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: the seven and seven Seahawks are at the eleven and
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: three Chiefs Kansas City by ten. It feels like a
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: now big it's cold out there, but I'm gonna take
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: Kansas City. But that's a lot of points, and there
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: might be weather and I don't know. I think Seattle
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: it's got a little bit. So I'm gonna take the points,
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: but I will take Kansas City to win. I'm doing
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: a lot of splitting up today. Yeah. I at some
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: point Kansas City has to play well and I'm gonna
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: pick him again Kansas City both ways. I don't think
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: they've played very well the last several weeks. Yeah, I'm
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: gonna take the Chiefs both ways in this one too.
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: Sunday at one eight, five and one, Giants are at
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: the eleven and three Vikings Minnesota by four and a half.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: That's another interesting one here. Um, the Giants a little
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: bit of a bounce back last week against the Redskins. Uh,
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: now you know what, I'm gonna take the Giants. I'm
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: gonna take the dream in on the road and I
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: will take those points. Yeah, I'm gonna take Minnesota to
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: find a way to win the game, but I will
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: take the points four and a half. I like the
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: field goal game and Giants tend to keep all the
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: games close. Yeah, I'm gonna take the Giants both ways
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: in this game. Um you guys, Yeah, I mean the Vikings, Like,
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: how do you come off that game? Like that was,
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: you know, yeah, see what they got. Yeah, we'll see
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: Sunday at one, the ten and four Bengals. No, no, no, no, no,
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry, no no, no, I'm sorry. Sunday at one,
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: the one, twelve and one Texans are at the seven
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: and seven Titans. Titans by three. That's changed a lot
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: from mine. U. I saw somethinghow well Houston's defense is
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: playing lately pretty well? Um, and man, Tennessee just seems
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: to be fading. I'm gonna take Yeah, I'm gonna I'm
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: gonna take Tennessee to win. I'll lay the points top one. Huh.
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Houston to win the game. Wow, I
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: think ten season a free fall. Okay, I'm gonna take
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: the Titans in this game both ways. I gotta give
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: you guys some chances, right, Yeah, I'll take the Titans,
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: you know, just because of Rabel and we like. Yeah.
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: Now we skip over the Patriots at one o'clock and
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: we moved to four h five. The seven and seven,
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: six and one Commanders are at the ten and four
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: forty nine Ers Niners by seven. There's by seven, and
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: I just saw it looks like Chase Young's gonna be back.
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: So I'm gonna take San fran to win, but I
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: think uh Tyler Haneke, Chase Young back, I'm gonna take
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: the points for Washington. I will take San Francisco both ways. Okay,
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: I'm definitely taking the points here. Forty nine Ers win,
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: but they do not cover. Four twenty five, the thirteen
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: and one Eagles are at the ten and four Cowboys
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: Dallas by five by five. L Hurts no quarterback, Ye Hurts.
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: He said he he's not gonna play. Yeah, uh, I
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: think that's enough. I'm gonna take Dallas and uh yeah,
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna lay the points. Gardner Minshew, I think it
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: is starting for Philly. Yeah, I'm gonna take Philadelphia both ways. Really, Paul, Yeah,
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: I don't I'm not a huge movement in Dallas, and
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: I think that Minshew's a good backup. I don't want
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: I don't want Minshew playing ten games in a row,
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: but for one game, that's the thing. He comes in
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: and he gets hot, and so I'm gonna take the points.
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: But the Cowboys pull it off at home, So Dallas,
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: but Philly to keep it close. That's right, Okay? Uh
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: so then eight fifteen yet oh, now we Yeah, what
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: were you talking about? Yeah? Good yeah, Oh, because we
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: give on Saturday. These are Sunday. We have Sunday games. Yeah,
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: these are all Saturday games. There's three Sunday. Yeah. So
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: eight fifteen on NFL Network, NFL Network, Uh, six and
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: eight Raiders are at the six and eight Steelers Pittsburgh
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: by two and a half. Cool. I was not impressed
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: with with Vegas last week, but I think they can
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: win on the road. I think they'll build off what
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: they did. They got some good energy going. I'm gonna
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: take Vegas. I'll take those points. Yeah, this is just
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: an anti Pittsburgh pick. I think Pittsburgh stinks, so I'll
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: take the Raiders to stink a little bit less. Yeah,
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Steelers in this game. Yeah yeah,
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: probably right. Yeah, I mean this is a look. Tomon
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: always finds a way to go five hundred, so like
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: you probably will find a way to win. I'll take
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: the Steelers in this game. All right, Um, now we
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: kill them. Now we moved to Sunday. Is it gonna
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: be weird having a Saturday with all these NFL games? Like,
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: when's the last time that happened? You remember the infamous
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: game with the Dolphins when they left the field and
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: came back and yeah, Weaver had like a towel on yeah, yeah,
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: And that was Christmas Eve on a Saturday and the
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: old Fox. But was that a full slate like this now,
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: I'm not telling you that's the last time. I'm just
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: telling you that time was a Christmas Eve on a Saturday. Okay,
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: all right? I think whenever, whenever I sound sure, that's
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: when you have to dealt me the most. I remember
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: the game like it was yesterday, Like they everybody went
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: in the locker room and like Paul said, guys literally
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: came back out and it was cold. Jed Weaver came
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: out in a towel and he was on the corn.
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: He was like on the corner of the yeah, waiting
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: for the everybody had to come back out that there
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: was still time on the clock. They thought the game
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: was over Sunday at one. This is Christmas Day. So
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: you got your Chris, you know, your presence all unwrapped
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: and you're ready to settle down for some NFL football
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: on Christmas. Six and eight Packers are at the eight
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: and six Dolphins Miami by three and a half. I
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: think back in the friendly confines of Miami. I'm gonna
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: take the Dolphins and I will lay those points. I
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: am going to do the same thing Miami. Yeah, I'm
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: gonna go, uh Dolphins as well. Although you know, taking
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: the hook. The Packers offense is showing some signs of life.
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: You know, we're starting. I haven't seen them, gonna be honest. Yeah,
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: but I'm gonna go Dolphins at home. If it was
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: in Green Bay, I would definitely not both ways, Yeah,
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: both ways Dolphins. All right. So now four thirty, this
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: game is on CBS and Nickelodeon. So I guess there's
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: a children's version of the video. Yeah. Uh. The four
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: and ten Broncos a rare home game away game in December.
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: Are at the four and ten Rams. An awful game. Um,
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: Denver by two and a half. I don't even know
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: what to do here, I mean, just like what to do. No,
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: I don't even know, guys, I'm gonna take the Rams
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: at home. I don't even know why. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: take the Rams two. Um. I just think Denver can't score,
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: and the Rams at home, you know, Baker Mayfield, they
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: could put some points on the board. No, I don't know.
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: I don't I'll take the Rams. I'm gonna take the
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: Broncos in this game. I think Mayfield came back to
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: Earth last week. I think he actually played the same. Yeah, like,
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: I don't think he did anything against the Raiders either.
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: Just had that last drive. That's that's it. Um. So
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Rams in this game. I mean
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: the Broncos. Broncos, Bronco nomar this week. Yeah, eight twenty
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: on nby sure. Um, it's the six and eight Buccaneers
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: at the four and ten Cardinals. Um, Bucks by seven
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: and a half, Tommy b now's the time it was
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: the quarterback for the Cardinals and this trace McSorley. Yeah
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: all right, I got. I mean, I just I gotta
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: pick Tom Brady. I'll lay they can't score. Yeah, I know,
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: but I will take Tampa to win. But seven and
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: a half. I'll take the points. Yeah. Um, I'm gonna
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: take the Bucks both ways. I've been off Tom lately.
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: I'll give him this game. I'll go back to Tom
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: good for you. It's gonna cover for me. Monday Night.
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: I'm covering for you for a long time. Yeah, Monday
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: Night on ESPN and ESPN Deportes for those people want
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: to listen to the Spanish for broadcast. Eight and six
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: Chargers are at the four, nine and one Colts. And
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: who's the quarterback for the Colts now, Nick Foles? Right? Yeah, yeah, uh,
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: I'm sorry. The lack by five, the lack by five.
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: A big game for them, big game for the Patriots
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: A little bit, I mean, not really, but kind of. Um,
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: I just I think I think the Chargers, I think
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: they're I think they're surge into the playoffs. I'm gonna
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: take them. I'll lay the points. Yeah, I'm a little worried.
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the lack too. I'm with Mike. I'm
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: a little worried about the Folds thing because the Colts
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: defense has played reasonably well all year and they just
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: haven't been able to move the ball, and who knows,
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: you get a new guy in there and gives them
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: some life. But I'm gonna take the lack. Yeah, I'm
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: gonna take the black as well. Both ways. All right.
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: Now we go back to one o'clock. The ten and
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: four Bengals are at the seven and seven Patriots. Bengals
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: buy three, Bengals, buy three? Uh yeah, I got I
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: got the Bengals in this one. It's just it's hard
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: to see with Patriots keeping score keeping pace. With what
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: Joe Burrow's being able to do. I curious how he
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: does against the Patriots secondary, if he kind of exposes
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: them a little bit like they haven't maybe been exposed lately.
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go Yeah. With Cincinnati, I'm gonna say,
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: somewhere in the vicinity of thirty three to sixteen, I
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: think it's I think it's Bengals role. Wow. Yeah, I
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: don't think it'll be quite as much as Mike said,
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: but I agree with Cincinnati. I think the Bengals are
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: playing well. I think they need to keep pace. They
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: need to win the game so that'll be enough to
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: keep them interested. And if they don't play and friends
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: are gonna get mad. I think if they don't play
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: a terrible game, I don't see how the Patriots can
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: keep up. Like if the Bengals go out and do
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: what Tampa Bay did last week and turn the ball
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: over in four consecutive possessions, you can lose. Um. So
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say never, but I don't think that'll happen.
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna say twenty seven seventeen Sinnatti. Same score, same
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: score for me, but no same score. I just I
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: want to pick the Patriots. I want the Patriots to win,
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: but I'm behind and I have to pick what I
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: think is going to happen. So, you know, like if
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: I was winning this thing, I picked the Patriots just
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: for the hell of it. But but I I gotta
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: make things up here, so uh yeah, I gotta I
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: gotta pick the Bengals in this game. Yeah, it's just
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: hard to like, it's hard to pick something you haven't seen, right,
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: you know, at this stage of the year, it would
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: be like three weeks in, well, you know, let the
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: start slow, Like, when have we seen them against a
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: good team? Go out and click and all of the
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: sudden the offense looks good. I mean this year whenever
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: your period, when have you seen the offense look good? Period?
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: I think you could rattle off maybe two and a
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: half games. It's not like, you know, we're in November.
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: We're in late December now. Yeah, so it's hard to
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: have the faith that it's going to look all that different. Again,
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: the Bengals could play a crappy game and the Patriots
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: could make a couple of plays on defense as a result,
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: maybe get a pick six, and then you know, all
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: bets are off. You can you can hang around. That's how.
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: That's that was the formula last week, that was the
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: formula the week before. That's how. That's how you won
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: the game against Arizona. That's how you should have won
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: the game last week. I can tell you this though.
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: If the Patriots do win this game and it's not
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: because the Bengals handed it to him, I'm back, baby,
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: playoffs here we go back. Absolutely, yeah, absolutely. You have
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: to win three games, and you can't win three, Mike,
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: unless you win the first one. Right. I think what's
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: interesting too about this game, just in terms of the
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: last three, is that you have so much kind of
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: recent and long term history against the Bills and the Dolphins,
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: and you know, we all know what the history is
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: and how they've matched up in the games against them.
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: You haven't seen the Bengals since twenty nineteen. They're kind
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: of a new team in the AFC, somewhat as a
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: top things after going to the Super Bowl. So I'm
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: just you know, the team they don't know very well.
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. I don't know either.
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: I don't know, but it's just it's it's an interesting
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: kind of test because there's not a lot of subtexts
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: in terms of division game where you know, everybody, this
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: is a legit good team. But it's also you know,
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: more of a conventional offense that I think I have
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: a little bit more confidence usually in these games that
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: it matches up better with the t vise and the
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: Bentleys of the world that they like to, you know,
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: play when you don't have to deal with the mobile
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: quarterbacks stuff. So I don't know, I'm just I'm really
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: interested to see how they kind of match up against
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: these guys. And you know, it's just I think these
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: are such a litmus test here at the end of
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: the season against these you know, three teams that are
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: are going to be in the playoffs, and you know,
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: how do you stack up? Where exactly do you land?
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: Right now? Um, this is the last one you get
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: that's not a division game that doesn't have all those
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: other storylines feeding into it. All right, Um, it's we
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: still have a little bit of time here, so I
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: figured i'd get, yeah, well there's only three of us. Yeah,
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: I think we thought that Evan was gonna hang out
- 1:52:01Speaker 1: for a little bit, but he couldn't get to the
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: locker round. So you know, we'll kind of we'll do
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: some emails before John Rook and the playbook take over
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: at too. Jack and An Aaba writes in why did
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: the Patriots select Sony Michelle instead of Nick Chubb in
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: the twenty eighteen NFL Draft? It seems like a topical question,
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: not the first time it's been asked. No, no, but
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: I mean I think a misjudgment. I mean, I think
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: I wondered too if that was connected to somewhat of
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: them trying to look at all the direction that defense
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: were going getting small, and that they wanted to kind
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: of recommit to power football and you know, try to
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: take some of the heat off Brady at the end
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: of his career, you know, to really just invest in
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: the running game and make sure that we have that
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: as a basis. Then well, sure, I know, I don't
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: know why they went with that. I'm just saying generally,
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: what was the philosophy of just even going with a
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: running back in the few Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: Over Chubb, I mean I didn't study. I think that
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: they thought that that Michelle was the more well rounded
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: guy who could catch passes and do some of those things.
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: Turns out they missed on that too. You know. Obviously
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: Chubb was the much better player, and I think most
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: people that watched Georgia understood why Chubb was the lead
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: guy and Michelle was the change of pace guy. And
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: they also took Win in the same draft in the
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: in the first round as well. I mean, you know
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: Russell in Arkansas. What about bringing in Matt Nagy as
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: offensive coordinator. He's been an offensive coordinator, head coach and
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: quarterback coach. Also, Brady coming back is a given when
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: he retires in five to ten years. Is he doing
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: the Senior Bowl now? Is that Matt Nagie? That no, no, no,
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: that's Jim Naki. He's a scout. Matt Nagie is a
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: form of Bears head coach. He was in the Kansas
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: City Tree. Yeah. I would be in favor, and I'm
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: not telling you which one because I don't know enough
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: about the schemes and the excess nose to tell you,
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: but I would be in favor of taking a guy
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: who was once an offensive coordinator who's no longer in
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: you know, like in charge of an offense and bringing
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: him in, you know, like, I wouldn't you love to
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: see like like Detroit right now? I don't think Detroit
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: is a ridiculously talented team, but their offense, like the
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: last couple of weeks, like that that call on fourth
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: and inches by benjo I think his name is Ben Johnson,
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: the offensive coordinated for the Lions, guy that I'm not
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: overly familiar with. That was a special call. Like that
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: was really good stuff. That was good scheme, good design,
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: good execution to win a game. You know that, that's
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: the kind of stuff I want to see. Yeah. Julian
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: no George and Madison new Jersey writes in about Julie
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: and he says, did you guys happen to hear Julian
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: Edelman's scathing remarks about mac Jones, particularly his tackling effort
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: at the end of the Raiders game and the pissie
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: faces he makes it the coaches ouch conspiracy theory. You
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: might think Bill might be using his former player as
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: a mouthpiece here. I think Bill is seething right now,
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: and I think Max days might be numbered. Is QB
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: play isn't good enough for Bill to put up with
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: his temper tantrums. I did not see though the comments rooms.
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: But that is interesting, you know, like it's not a
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: terrible conspiracy theory. It hasn't been. You know. It's rare
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: that you see a former Patriot take shots at other
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: players on the Patriots, you know, like you know Sante
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: Samuel will take a shot every once in a bill,
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: but not at not at the players, you know. So
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: that's for Julian to do that, Um, especially because he's
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: around a little bit. I know he's out there in Vegas. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: he was doing stuff for the team out but no
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: connection to Mac. You know, he didn't he wasn't here.
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: What that's true. So, but I don't think it's a
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: silly conspiracy theory, and I think we all say it
- 1:55:44Speaker 1: freely with Mike Lombardi, right yeah. Um, Patty in the
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: Van says, you have used the team coaching malfeasance aptly
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: throughout the years. You haven't used it this year, and
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: I don't think that is a mistake looking at this
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: team with all the overall struggles in the amount of
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: errors we have, is this coaching malfeasance? I know, you
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: shouldn't bite the hand that feeds you, so I will
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: answer for you. Yes, you've listened to this show this year,
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: and you think that we haven't called the coaches out right?
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: I don't know what to say. I mean, this is
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: the most critical I've been to the coaching in my
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: entire time working for Fred too, and that's as long
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: as yours. But yeah, and the word I like to
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: use is coaching negligence. Yeah, I let Eric use words
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: like malfeasance. Let's see Nathan. But yes, this has been
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: a bad year for the coaching staff. Nathan is in Halifax.
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: He says, take a look at the wins the Patriots
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: have had this year. The only wins we have so
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: far this year are against starting qbs and not kie
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: backup quarterback. Yeah, backup quarter and not j Rookie backups
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: are Cleveland and Detroit, in which case Mac Jones didn't play.
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: I don't need to go through game by game, but Pittsburgh, Mitch,
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: please bench meet Trabisky. Yes, you don't need to go
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: to a game. Yeah, Jarikoff is the only starting quarterback
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: they've beaten. Uh, here's a who am I game? When
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: with this? Oh? This is from Merry Christmas everyone. Jacob
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: and Kenneth saw Georgia. Thanks Jane, He says, Merry Christmas
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: to all of us. I hope you haven't spent blah
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: blah blah blah um, same rules supply as usual. Person one.
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: I had a public spat with a PFW writer about
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: not being good enough to be a roster lock. Oh
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: stop stop stop, you should get that one. No. With
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: the fight was with Eric. Yeah, Silver Selinga. That's right,
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: Silver Selinga. Yeah, Selina, Yep, that's true. Knew it was
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: gonna come to me. Person two. I was the Beef
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: O'brady's Bowl MVP in the early twenty tens. Definitely gonna
- 1:57:54Speaker 1: need more the Beef O'Brady Bowl. Yeah. My first career
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: catch was a touchdown. Last hint? Yes, are you looking
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: at my phone? No, I didn't get the beefle Brady Bowl.
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: I got it from first catch was a touchdown? All right?
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: Last one? Uh. I now work as a sideline reporter
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: in analysts for a team's radio network that I never
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: played for. Oh two, I raffled off one of my
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: three Super Bowl rings I won with the Patriots for charity,
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: raising over two hundred thousand dollars and Finally, I made
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: an immediate impact on special teams, finishing with double digit
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: special team tackles every season I was with the Patriots. Larryzzo, um,
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: if it was an ice cream Sunday, he'd be on
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: top Cherry who was on now the Browns Radio Network.
