- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, what's up, Browns fans?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to another episode of the Dog's Podcast.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Josh All and I've got Kenny Mac with me today.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_03]: Woohoo, let's go boys and girls, woohoo.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's right, Kenny is full of excitement for this episode.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: I am too, can't wait to bring this stuff to you guys.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: If you're watching, obviously, or I guess if you're listening,
- 0:37[SPEAKER_02]: same old intro this time did not use the new intro because you got to blame on Kenny it's it's his fault.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_02]: He told me that there's a potential copyright infringement situation going on with the Cleveland Brown.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: So if you guys liked the new intro and you want to see more of it blame Kenny.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, just yeah, get some of the IP out of there and we'll be good.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_03]: So, but yeah, it was good.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_03]: I thought it flowed well.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_03]: I like the song, man.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_03]: Super fun.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_03]: Had the old Canadian flexing his muscles there as good times.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, it was pretty good.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and the song, I can obviously use the song.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: I made that myself, so that's not a big deal.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: But, I mean, I made the video myself, but it's definitely got some, you know, copyright stuff in there that could potentially be an issue with the organization.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: And as you said, might want to just steer away from that.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: So I said, okay.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's fine.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: I will rework the intro to include the new song with a little bit of a difference been on the video.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: But obviously, I have not had time to do that yet.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: So back to the same old same old.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: And today, not the same old same old.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be talking about a couple of things.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: Kenny, first of all, was at the groundbreaking ceremony last week for the new stadium.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll get his opinions, thoughts, takeaways on all of that.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: We want to talk about this Brendan source.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: Be situation.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure everybody out there has at least
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: heard something about Brendan Sorris B, the gambling situation, and now, you know, whether not the Brown should be interested if he were to enter the supplemental draft, we'll talk about that.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: Then we'll wrap things up talking about rookie mini camp, get Kenny's opinion on the class, and just give you guys the schedule for the offseason program coming up, and it all kicks off on Friday.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: That's the plan for today.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: Before we dive into it, make sure you guys go to join the dogs.com if you want to be part of the dog pack community.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: Get into the private discord, hang out with everybody in there, me, Justin Blake.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, Kenny's in there all the time.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: We're always having a great conversations with everybody in the community.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: You get to be part of the dog pack discord.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: Live episodes each week.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: And we're already less than a month away.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: June 1st, Facy Football, Registrations will open.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: So if you want to be part of our dog pack,
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: fantasy leagues in the fall.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: Those registrations open up June 1st and as long as you remember the dog pack, you can register and get into a league.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: So make sure you guys get in there now.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate everybody who's part of the dog pack.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: So that's join the dogs dot com Kenny.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: You were just talking before the show.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_02]: You've been to Cleveland twice in the last couple weeks, man.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, we got our awesome.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we got our awesome draft episode going and I got the hang out with some of the dog pat members the first week draft week obviously and then I'll get right into it.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_03]: I did not and I kind of knew at the time, but I got invited by the Cleveland Browns to attend the ceremony the groundbreaking ceremony and man was I ever pumped to go the grounds the groundbreaking ceremony itself.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
- 3:33[SPEAKER_03]: the Huntington Bank field, in the Brook Park area, it's massive for not only the haslums, but the Cleveland Browns, but also just the community around it.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the biggest takeaway is for me is what it's going to do for the actual area with the job creation and what it will bring to the area.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, obviously, the biggest thing that everybody wanted to hear about is a Super Bowl, right?
- 3:58[SPEAKER_03]: But there's more than that.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_03]: Like, there's bigger things that can come.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, there's a
- 4:03[SPEAKER_03]: major concert events, year round events, and then probably potentially like who didn't have a blast in Cleveland for the draft and how much better might it be at that actual new location?
- 4:18[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Roger Goodell kind of said it's Super Bowl quality.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_03]: I know he comes up to maybe in the hotels in the area.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_03]: Might have rubbed people the wrong way, but at the end of the day and talking to people that I know and like San Diego and other places that had the Super Bowl, there probably isn't enough hotels right at the moment.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_03]: So that's definitely something that they're going to take a look at the design was awesome man like the dog pound at a 35 degree angle so you're almost sitting on the field like that was unreal to see and lots of
- 4:54[SPEAKER_03]: different things are coming in the area as well.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_03]: Like, obviously, there's a re-invention of the Beria and the actual headquarters of the Cleveland Browns, attaching it is a possibility as well.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_03]: So those were all cool things to learn, but the biggest thing that Jimmy said himself, he said, he is doing this for the fans, and that's pretty much it.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_03]: And I, by what I saw, I like, I believe it, man, it was great to give you like how it actually went.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_03]: You went there.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_03]: You got a valet for your car as soon as you got out of the valet, you got your ribbons on through security, and then as you went through security, there was a photographer waiting there for you, you got your pictures in front of the Huntington bank sign, and then as soon as you walked in, there was a cocktail waiting for you, whether you had alcohol or not, they were both sitting there, and you just walked in and then you started to mingle.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_03]: First person, I saw.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_03]: Big dog John Thompson, the original Superfan, was their great guy being the Canadian myself.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't know he was into hockey as he was, so we had a great conversation, got pictures.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_03]: Walked around a little bit.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_03]: I do get a chance to talk to Bridget Litton once in a while and a little background for me.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_03]: I do have a Bakker's Club up here and I do sit on the President's Leadership Council for Brown's Bakker's Worldwide.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_03]: And so Bridget is a field announcer and low and behold, we had Cameron, oh, Franklin Lincoln now.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_03]: We had our favorite beat reporter.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, God, Cameron justice.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: Cameron justice, thank you very much.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_03]: I liked on justice for one second.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_03]: And I totally fanboyed hard, not like I did right now.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_03]: And I said, oh my God, you're Cameron justice.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_03]: I love, I said, we love you.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm by myself, so that was weird.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_03]: And, but I did not forget her name.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_03]: And then we all got called, watch the three tears of people that we could see and it started off.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_03]: with Jimmy's daughter, JW, and Nathan Zagura as the interviewer, and they went over kind of what the HasmSports group was wanted to accomplish, then that you got into the next tier, which was
- 7:14[SPEAKER_03]: Anderson Siliano, and he went into it with the governor, Mike DeWine.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_03]: He went into a Roger Cadell and Jimmy himself.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_03]: They kind of went over like kind of the big things that they had to get over.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_03]: And then you got the players perspective from Andrew Barry, Todd Mountain, Denzel Ward, and Carson Swesinger, and low on behold when that was done, they said, hey,
- 7:35[SPEAKER_03]: If you want a couple pictures with these guys, run up and see what you can do.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_03]: And hey, I did, got a picture with Commissioner Gidel.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_03]: I will tell you one thing.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_03]: Really nice guy.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_03]: And for all the dirt that he gets kicked out of him, he had the longest line up to get pictures with.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_03]: 100%.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_03]: Jimmy was great.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_03]: I definitely got one with Todd Munkin.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_03]: And I can tell you Todd Munkin.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_03]: The way he sounds on the podium is exactly the way he sounds in real life.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_03]: My best, I think the thing that I got to say or the funniest thing I got to do was I went to Andrew Berry.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_03]: I got a picture with him.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_03]: Very gracious guy.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: I went up to him.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: I said, hey, I really appreciate the last two drafts.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_03]: You must have been taking a look at my mock drafts.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_03]: And he had a little chuckle out of that.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_03]: But there's something to that because Josh and I did a draft last year a mock draft.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_03]: And I picked two running backs and got crucified for him.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_03]: Told him that.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_03]: And he thought that was pretty funny as well.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_03]: I got to see Joe Thomas in the in the background.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: I did have Quintia on John Conciting and he looked to be moving pretty good and good rest of the night.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_03]: We had a great time.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_03]: Went to Guzzleman's in our Guzzleman's in North Home Stead and tried some of that Hall of Fame beef from Joe Thomas himself.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_03]: So what a great day, great night, great event.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_03]: If you could imagine what the definition of a Gala should be, that was definitely it.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: that is really cool, man.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, before we talk more about the stadium here a little bit and all this stuff, I know there's a lot of people out there that are not thrilled.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's people that aren't thrilled about the cost of it, the price of or projected price of tickets and all that kind of stuff to get into the games.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: And then there's also the people that just downright hate domes.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, football's an outdoor sport, yada yada yada.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously on this show, we have been just very strongly pro-don't like get us out of the elements we pay these athletes so much money.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to go watch them slosh around in the rain and snow in the mud.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's a game is different than what it used to be.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: It just is.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's a passing game, a heavily passing game and all that kind of stuff.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: I, being pro don't, I don't want to tell people that want it to be an outdoor stadium still, that they're wrong.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: I, I totally understand where you're coming from.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: I just think the benefits of having the indoor facilities going to be so great.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: And you said something about the bereaf facility, the brown-side quarters, all that stuff.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: You said something about attaching.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: What did you mean by that?
- 10:11[SPEAKER_03]: there might be a tunnel actually from there to the actual stadium is what my understanding.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_03]: So that would be great to get players back and forth.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_03]: And so we'll see.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see what happens.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not a hundred percent sure if that will, but on your point about
- 10:29[SPEAKER_03]: You know, people not thinking football should be played in the elements football is getting played later in later every year and I don't know about you.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_03]: I turn 50.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_03]: I do not want to sit in the elements anymore I've been to the the stadium in Detroit on the flip side.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_03]: I've been the stadium in Vegas that is always too high a nice air condition place to sit and watch football and allow your team to go to its strengths all the time
- 10:54[SPEAKER_03]: in my opinion, is the best way to go.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we have a record and it's not like people say that, you know, it's an advantage, but our record since 90 times nine is 167, 282 and one.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't think we've had very many advantages.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_03]: Unless you're telling me we would have been 159 and 200 and
- 11:18[SPEAKER_03]: 85 and one like come on like let's let's be real.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_03]: I know there's a lot of people sometimes like a lot of the feedback that I got to was sometimes people you know Jimmy's from Tennessee he's not from Cleveland people just want a Cleveland owner or a high-based owner that's not the reality that we live in right now we have a guy from Tennessee that owns the browns and he's willing to sink this money in get jobs for the community and
- 11:46[SPEAKER_03]: he wants to contribute that way and I'm not like don't don't fire back with well he sucks he doesn't have a winning team.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_03]: I mean at the end of the day there are a group of guys that put out all this money just for the gal alone, you know, and don't wake up wanting to be losers.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_03]: It hasn't happened yet.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully it does.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's a good point.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, has Jimmy made the best decisions.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_02]: Does he have the best track record of that kind of things that he's bought the team?
- 12:13[SPEAKER_02]: No, but he's not purposely trying to lose games or put together a bad organization.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like there's no benefit in that every these guys all want their teams to be successful.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_02]: Some are just better at it.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: Some just get luckier than others.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Jimmy had a rough start with some of the decisions he made, but
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: I am my told you guys last week after the draft like I'm bought back in on Andrew Barrier's the GM I think that getting party party to put dust I think was one of the bad decisions Jimmy made.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: He's gone now so you Kevin's to fansky now we're with Todd Munkin which I love the they ask him what if he'll jump into the dog pound if they win the first game or something like that and he said you bet your ass I will.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, I mean I want to see that
- 12:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I hope I see that and he's a cool dude.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, I mean, again, like some people just got to chill out a little bit.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not saying I'm happy with the record.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not saying anything along that lines, but I mean, if you take a look at my time on this earth, I've had art modell who would.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_03]: despised and he screwed me over.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_03]: And then I liked L. Erner, a great guy, but obviously didn't live long.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_03]: Then pass it over to a son Randy and Randy is a soccer fan.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_03]: He just didn't care about his football as much as he loves soccer.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_03]: And he turned over to home grin, which was awful.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_03]: And now we got a guy that's passionate about it, just hasn't worked out.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I see a lot of people that will say, well, I can't believe they're building a new stadium.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: That team sucks.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, those players don't deserve it.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, they're not building a new stadium is not predicated on having a winning football team.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: If it was, I mean, obviously we wouldn't be doing this.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's like Jimmy said, it's for the fans.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's for a better fan experience, a better game day experience.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'm one of those people.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: I hate going to Cleveland on Game Day, hate it, hate it.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: It takes for freaking ever to get to the stadium.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: Then you want to talk about getting out of the parking lot or parking garage wherever you're at and then back through the stadium to get back to the highway.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's another two hours.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's like Blake always says, it's a full day commitment.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just, it's hard for people like us with families and drive times and to get there and it's like, I just can't do it.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, a lot of people have their opinions.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_03]: They'll be like, boo, who, Crimea, wherever we don't live close and we'll get there when we do.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, it's a holiday for somebody like myself.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_03]: So I sit down town in the flats and, you know, and have a couple beers to everything kind of goes away.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_03]: And then we take a Uber back.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_03]: So the search charges drop or whatever.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_03]: But, I mean, with that, you know, you're not going to lose about those six games, but how much the actual area is going to gain in the meantime.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_03]: is, I think, instrumental for Northeastern Ohio.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, nope, I agree with you.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, you started this whole thing with you mentioned the Super Bowl, and I know that was the big thing that everybody took in ran with from Roger Gidell, which, you know, he said, the stadium is definitely going to be Super Bowl quality, the surrounding area, community, the available amenities in the area, not there yet, not Super Bowl quality, which I think a lot of people
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: just probably assumed in their head, hey, we're getting this brand new dome stadium.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe a Super Bowl's on the table right away.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: We've kind of known all along the entire area is going to need development along with the stadium.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like the big renderings you guys see, where there's all these buildings and all this stuff all around the stadium, that's it's just an empty area right now.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: It all has to get built along with the stadium.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: they need other people and other businesses to invest in that community and like you said build the hotels.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: I was a big thing, Roger Goodell point out like you just don't have the infrastructure to support a Super Bowl around here right.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah and one thing you guys probably don't know this about Roger Goodell but before he was the CFO or the Commission he actually was the C OO and he wanted his main specialties.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_03]: It was stadium development so he's going to be picky on that.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and I know that's that makes sense.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_02]: He would be very well treated that of it.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_03]: I was a little tidbit I looked up so I could actually have something to talk to them about, you know, that he would relate to.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_02]: Can you, I love how you always go prepared and you just walk right up your shaken hands and meeting people and coming away with some very awesome stories.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, hey, man, just always be talking always be talking.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's that's Kenny the extrovert for all you introverts out there.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to know like can a duck you do that which I totally get.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: I know there are people out there that I doing a podcast like this.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: That would not work.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: So all types of different person now is out there.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: But Kenny is definitely going to go and talk to you and get to know you and make sure you have a good time when you're around him.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: So we always appreciate that about Kenny.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: So if you guys got questions or anything about the groundbreaking ceremony, about the new stadium, anything that Kenny might have learned that we didn't cover here on the show, or you want to hear more about dropping in the comments.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: I know Kenny comes through the YouTube comments.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like a lot when you're on episodes and you try to get back with everybody as much as possible.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: I do too, it's just harder because I'm doing all the social media and YouTube and everything that's crazy.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_02]: But drop your questions, comments, whatever in there, and Kenny, myself, somebody will be happy to talk to your answer to those questions for you guys.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely, guys.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: So if you think the public is wrong, like everybody's overreacting to these smoke screens in the draft or sleeping on a prospect, you can literally take the other side of the market.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not just sports either.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_02]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: It works like this, simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: So if you trust your takes and instincts, and I know you guys do, go check out Kaoshin's see what markets are live right now.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_02]: So head over to Kaoshy.com slash dogs, k-a-l-s-h-i-i-dot-com slash dogs, d-a-w-g-s, deposit just $20 and Kaoshy's gonna match you.

- 19:13[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so the next topic here, we wanted to get into was this Brendan Sours be situation and I did a short video today and I said, I haven't really, I haven't mentioned Brendan Sours be on the podcast.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: I've been following the situation with him on my own time.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't posted about it.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't talked about it just because there's a whole lot of ifs and, you know, if this does this or these guys do that, it's
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll just dive into the situation now.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about it because Todd McShade dropped a video a day and he specifically used the Browns as an example of a team that
- 19:46[SPEAKER_02]: He recommends Bids a first round pick if they're able to on Brendan Sorsby.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: So who is he?
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: He is the former quarterback for the Cincinnati Bearcats the last two seasons.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let me put my stat numbers here.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, last two seasons.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_02]: And then the two years before that, he spent at Indiana.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: Now he didn't play at Indiana.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely not his first year there.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think you read shirted, I believe.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: And then
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so Redshirt freshman season he only played a little bit had 237 attempts and then he transferred to Cincinnati.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: and had a decent year in 2024, a 2800 yards, 18 touchdowns, seven picks.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_02]: Last year, 2025, had a much better season, 2800 yards again, but he had 27 touchdowns to only five interceptions.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys are looking at the NFL draft, you've got guys like the Brownsuk Joe Royer, right?
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: The tight end, from Cincinnati, you had Cyrus Allen and Jeff Caldwell, the receivers who are going to the NFL now,
- 20:44[SPEAKER_02]: All played and benefited from Brennan source be as their quarterback.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: He made the decision then to transfer after 2025 to Texas Tech.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: And was kind of touted as, hey, this could be a guy you're looking at the first round next year in 2027, based on how the season goes, but he's kind of that preseason first round projected type of quarterback.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_03]: Quickly, what was his rushing stats?
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: What was his rushing dates?
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let me jump over here.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_02]: That was big.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's the other thing, too.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's got.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_02]: So that's another thing Todd McShay was really big on.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: So it's since the 1920, 24, 447 yards and nine rushing touchdowns last year.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: 580 yards and nine more touchdowns.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_02]: He scored 22 touchdowns on the ground already in college.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_02]: He is a true dual threat quarterback.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody listen to talk to scouts, people that do quarterback stuff say the arm is legit.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: It is a pro level arm.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: He can make every throw.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: He can throw it on a rope.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: that if you take the traits and you really work it, like you mold it to what you need your NFL quarterback to be, he can be really good.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: He can play at a high level.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the mobility and the rushing upside and he's got the arm to make every throw.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_02]: So that's just what these, these scouts are looking for.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_02]: So that's why there's hype about Brennan's swords me.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_02]: Am I missing anything with that, Kenny?
- 22:06[SPEAKER_03]: No, like I looked up the career stats and I saw, you know, the 7200 stat 60 touchdowns I'm like, uh, you know, coat McCoy and we've had, uh, whatever you guys have led the, uh, case kingdom and all these guys, they led touchdowns, but then I looked down and was this 12, almost 1,300 yards and 22 rushing touchdowns.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_03]: Then I looked back through the strengths as strong arm excellent velocity, but
- 22:29[SPEAKER_03]: like dual threat.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't realize that he would be that big of a RPO option possibility.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_03]: So those stats with his traits are unreal.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_03]: Like it's basically Baker meets Bonix.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, actually, I think he's a better runner than Bonax.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen some clips and some people point out his running style and it's like, his acceleration is now and he glides.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: He's a very, very fluid runner.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's, there's no choppiness to it.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: He just, he looks really athletic.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, you said Baker meets Bonax.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this guy's 6, 3, 2, 35.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: This is a legitimate NFL frame, a legitimate NFL arm
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: to boost him up the ranks and that's why he was talked about as a potential first round pick next year.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: Then we find out he has checked himself into a, what is it like a rehab type facility for a gambling addiction.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, so what's going on with the gambling thing?
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: The NCAA, he has been accused of placing thousands of sports bets, not just like a couple where you got caught into thousands of sports bets through a gambling app on both pro and college sports.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: Dating clear back to his time at Indiana as a freshman, 2022 when he first came to college football.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: And,
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: what like that in itself is a known it like that's a violation of NCAA policy.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: You can't do that.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_02]: No, and on top of that, he allegedly placed bets involving his own team, the Indiana Hoosiers.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, he was on the roster.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: Now, he wasn't playing, he was redshirted that year.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: So he was placing bets on games that he thought they would win.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, you can't do this because you have an inside track.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_02]: You're on the team, like you, you know information that people, you can't, like, it's great.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_02]: This whole thing is kind of wild.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: But that's essentially the situation around him right now.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, ultimately when I hear this and you hear the addiction, and we hope that number one that he gets the help that he needs.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, betting on that stuff being a general manager of a previous job and having some people go into rehab and trying to get them the work is a tough situation.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_03]: It's a tough on the Browns.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_03]: and we're probably as fans going to get some Josh Gordon PTSD because I mean while this guy sounds like a he's a physical marvel just like Josh Gordon was but I mean what how many seasons Josh Gordon was with a six and he played what 33 games like I'm just going off the top of my head here
- 25:17[SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, we saw some amazing factors, and again, like I'll get guys to be in the comments while it was just weed and she shouldn't have been, but there was a lot of dark issues there with that guy, where he was at and didn't get quite where he needed to be and didn't have the NFL pro,
- 25:36[SPEAKER_03]: career that he should have had and that's what my fear is for this guy but again like you know your eyes pop when you see what his stats are what you see like how we how we manage the game and man he was going to kind of up his game at the next level with a new team and then this happens so he can enter rehab he can come out he missed his eligibility so if he loses his eligibility for
- 26:05[SPEAKER_03]: college, he can enter the supplemental draft, which will be sometime in July.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_03]: And there's a bunch of other guys who've done that, that's how we got Bernie Cozer.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_03]: I just mentioned Josh Gordon.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_03]: We got him that way.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_03]: The last time that this was used though has been a while.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was 2019 and the Cardinals got a safety, and I forget what his name is.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_03]: It starts with a J,
- 26:33[SPEAKER_03]: Thompson Thompson, that's it.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_03]: And you know, I remember back in the day, the giants got brown that way.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_03]: It's been a lot more quarterbacks that I think have kind of went this way into supplemental draft.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_03]: And so he will probably be another one.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_03]: I would ultimately think that
- 26:53[SPEAKER_03]: we would just be at the number six spot again in a supplemental draft format.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_03]: So kind of the way it would work is the Raiders would go.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_03]: They would like, do you want them?
- 27:03[SPEAKER_03]: Oh no, so you have to tenor a pick.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_03]: So the Raiders could throw in a seventh round option on them.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_03]: We could throw a fourth round since we got two for next year.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_03]: And kind of go from that way.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_03]: Then when it goes through those first 10 or that first tier,
- 27:18[SPEAKER_03]: of teams that I think finished under six wins, then whoever had the highest bid, if anybody bid it all, gets the right stand.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think I explained that correctly.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I had the rules pulled up and now I have obviously lost them, which is, oh, here we go.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: So the, all right.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to talk about the supplemental draft and how it works.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: Because I didn't know a lot of this stuff about the supplemental draft when I was hearing all this stuff about source being like, okay, what do we do this every year?
- 27:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I know we got Josh Gordon this way.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_02]: So the supplemental draft is only held if there are players who missed their eligibility for the upcoming college football season after the NFL draft has already taken place.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, we can't go back and enter the NFL draft after it's over.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: So we have the supplemental draft.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_02]: They could hold it, there might be five players in a supplemental draft.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: There might be one guy, and that's it.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's the whole deal.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: So in this situation, it sounds like Brennan source be would be the one guy, and that's if the NCAA, like you said, determined, you know, your eligibility is void.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: You can no longer play in college football.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: So then his next step obviously he can appeal and he's got legal representation or something they're going to try to, you know, appeal if he loses eligibility, but if it doesn't work, obviously.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_02]: you can enter the supplemental draft and go to the NFL.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: So, I'm just trying to see, so yeah, like you said, it's usually held in early to mid-July, obviously nothing is set yet, because we don't know if he's going.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: It's based on a draft lottery system, teams are grouped by the previous seasons records, like Kenny was just talking about.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: So you have non-playoff teams who have six or fewer wins, which obviously the Browns would be in the number one lottery tier.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_02]: The number two tier is non-playoff teams with six or more wins, and then the third tier are all the playoff teams.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: So teams submit a bid, like you said, on to, so teams would place a bid on Brendan Sorsby and the round in which they would be willing to draft them.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_02]: They're draft that player.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: The highest bidder wins, but if multiple teams bid the same round, it goes by the lottery system.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: So if the round's bid a third round pick, but so did, I'm trying to think,
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: So because the highest two bids were a playoff team said what we would take him for a third and the Brown said we would take him for a third nobody had a higher bid We would win the bid because we are in the first tier.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: They are in the third tier So that's how that works obviously if somebody came up and said we would we would we bet a second they would get him So what happens then is you for fits that corresponding round pick in the upcoming draft.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: So if the Brown say we all bid a second round pick
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: on Brendan Sorsby and they win the bid and they win the supplemental draft, then we obviously we don't have a second round pick in 2020, 7.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: We just used it.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's like an advance on your pay, right?
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: You know, give us our second round pick for next year this year.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_02]: We'll use it now.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: So what they do with Josh Gordon, they actually bid a second round pick and were awarded Josh Gordon in 2012 out of bail.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: And he was he was dismissed from the incident and
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: marijuana tests like you said so.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: And that problem obviously followed him clearing to the NFL and ruined his career.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: And you got to wonder if the same sort of thing would happen with with source be.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_02]: But the supplemental draft, it's interesting how it all works and everything like that.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like you said, it's been very quarterback heavy, very quarterback centric.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, going back to 1992 was the last time anybody ever used a first rompick.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_02]: So Todd McShade, I guess we can talk about that real quick.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: Suggested in this video today that well, if source begins of going into the supplemental draft,
- 31:22[SPEAKER_02]: Todd McShaze, like a team like the Browns, should go after him and Todd said, I would use a first round pick on him because I think he's going to be that special.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's high-prason.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: Todd McShaze, the last time a first round pick was ever used in a supplemental draft with 1992.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I remember, I remember that too.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_03]: It was the Jets and it was Ryan's Law.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_03]: Giants?
- 31:44[SPEAKER_03]: Jets Brown.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, shoot.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_03]: And the just to hit the pre or the just to two.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Jim.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm talking about Rob Moore, the wide receiver, the just did it in 1990.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: They used to first rock on the right.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: See, right.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_03]: Gotcha.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_03]: Come on.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're looking at just overall, uh,
- 32:03[SPEAKER_02]: That, like I said, 1992, last time a first round pick was ever used in the Supplemental draft.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: You don't see a whole lot of second round picks.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: The highest guy has been taken in the last, what two decades was Josh Gordon by the Browns in 2012 with a second round pick.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: Terrell prior was the last quarterback ever taken in the Supplemental draft out of Ohio State and Oakland Raiders got him for a third round pick.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: He was suspended as part of the NCAA investigation into improper receiving improper benefits.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know about you, but I just want to see what we do something with the current quarterback room.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: We just threw a tail on green in there and then you're going to throw another guy into that.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_03]: I'll feel like we're back in the last year again that we got to play four different guys.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want nothing to do with that.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_03]: And again, I'm not saying that this kid doesn't have talent.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_03]: It's a role of the dice based on addiction.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_03]: I just want to...
- 32:57[SPEAKER_03]: stay away from that the addiction part.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_03]: It's just too much of an auditing for me.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_03]: And I get, I get what McChase saying, you don't know what you're going to finish at.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe it's a low first round, high first round, who knows?
- 33:13[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I don't know, man.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_03]: That's too much of a gamble for me.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I'm with you.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not out on the first round.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_02]: Because again, like, he's projected based on improvements, continued improvements in 2027 at Texas Tech, that would get him into the first round next year, based on what he's already done and all the intangible.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but he hasn't done it yet.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: So it's a huge, that's a huge gamble.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, I'm using that pun totally intentionally.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: That is a huge gamble in this guy for a first round pick.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time, you do make a valid point there with
- 33:45[SPEAKER_02]: If the Browns win enough games this year, which we're all hoping they do, I see everybody on social media that's arguing about quarterbacks is, well, you got to play the guy who gives you the best chance to win, it should be the shawner, it should be the store.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: But it's all predicated on the idea of who gives you the best chance to win games.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_02]: And if the more games you win, the further away from the top of the draft you get.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: your first round pick might not net you the quarterback you think it will in 2027.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like, oh, just get a quarterback in 27.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: Might not be able to do that.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_02]: So if you have a chance to get a guy who could be a first round pick in 2027, get him now.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying I would, I would bid the first round pick.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: I would definitely hope the Browns would bid on him, though.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like you said, we've got three fourth round picks.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think now next year with the two extra we added in the draft.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, bit of fourth.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, to see if somebody, I'm sure somebody might swoop in with a third.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: If you, if you watch the tape and you're like, guys, I think this could be a good.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, bit of third.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I'd go higher than that, but
- 34:44[SPEAKER_03]: With all the capital that the jets have, they might be the guys to be hard pressed to do it.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_03]: You know, that could be the, even with maybe the carinals.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_03]: I know they got a bunch of quarterbacks there as well, but if it's better than what they have, I mean, I thought I would be thinking in my head, those would be the two neediest quarterback teams.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, Steelers need a quarter back.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would not say that.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, is there a team like I say the Rams didn't draft Tyson's in this year and they're looking ahead going, hmm.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_02]: We burn picks all the time on stuff.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: So why not just let's burn a second one, a second round pick on Brennan source being let him sit behind Matt Staffer for two years.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_02]: I could see a team maybe going that route.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, you never know, man, like if the talents tantalizing enough, you have a strong locker room, and you have a quarterback coach that's good, that might be ideal situation.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_03]: I would just have to look at each and every individual team to see what would fit.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: Based on having Shador, Dylan, and Dishon Watson,
- 35:55[SPEAKER_03]: and green now I'm like yeah I don't know if I'd want to devote another asset to that but you never know man maybe there's guys to be moved in that locker room and we'll see but
- 36:07[SPEAKER_02]: We will see.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, obviously, you know, Dylan Gabriel is not long for the team or, you know, he's not going to ever really start for you unless bad things happen.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: So he's definitely expendable to Sean Watson won't be here after this year.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_02]: So it would really be a play for the future in my opinion.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_02]: It would be trying to get out ahead of the 2027 quarterback class if you're able to get him because again, he might be part of that first round conversation next year when it's all said and done.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_02]: He might not be, that's assuming he gets to go back and play a Texas tech.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: We have no idea, but I would be doing some serious investigation and homework on to, you know, into the gambling addiction.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_02]: What's the situation?
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be trying to talk to some coaches, teammates, however, I don't know who they're allowed to communicate with, but I'd be getting some intel and I would bid something.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't just not throw my hat in the ring, you know, I'd at least try, I'm not saying
- 37:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't even know if I tried at this point.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_03]: I just want to figure out my team and figure out the situation and just try for someone who doesn't have an issue.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_03]: We had too many guys in the past like Trent Richardson and all these guys that had just too many issues Johnny Men's L maybe we can go on and on.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_03]: I don't I don't need another guy like that for me personally if they
- 37:24[SPEAKER_03]: Take it.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_03]: If they were to take a swing at it, whatever.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'm, I just told you right now, like the talent, the stats, everything looks, looks amazing.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I just won't get my hopes up this time.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and well, you know, let us know what you guys think in the comments or you are you more on my side where okay, I think it's worth a swing and if it's worth a swing, how high of a swing for me, it's probably a fourth maybe a third if you really like you know what I think I'd like to at least give a good shot of getting this guy maybe a third round pick or you would more like anywhere now just bypass it all together, we don't really need it even if we could get it.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_02]: at a reasonable discount.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_02]: So let us know what you guys think, obviously, this is, oh, we don't know what's going to happen yet.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_02]: They still have the eligibility thing to go through.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he gets to go back and play a Texas Tech and then we don't even have to worry about it.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, supplemental draft, we have no idea if it's even going to happen.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_03]: I'd be interested to see what the NFL would take would be on this because there is a, there is a, item, has to do with the law, you would have to tell me, because let me know if you've been arrested for doing this before, but if it's over $800, it's a worse.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_03]: prime if it's under their small bets, then it's not as bad as what I understand, but I just glossed over this before I got on.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't really have that, but I just want to put it out there, because if they're all these, like, because it's a massive amount of bets that he made after all, like over $800.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_03]: That's a lot of money that he either won or lost, and that is a huge problem.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_03]: I don't see it really being any.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_03]: better if they're under 800, you know, and, uh, but yeah, it would be interesting to see how if you get suspended right away or like, we're in this whole dish on Watson thing again, like, this is why I'm like, very like, no, thanks.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with, I mean, I understand, like, I'm not saying, maybe if you guys are like, no, part pass.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_02]: You're not, I'm not saying you're wrong.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying you're right if you want them.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just, this is an interesting conversation because anytime the thing is, I know there's gonna be people out there to say, why are you talking about more quarterbacks?
- 39:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like just quit worrying, anytime your team does not have a solidified lock-in, starting quarterback that you're not even worried about.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_02]: This is what your off season is.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: As Browns fans, we do this every year.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's always quarterback quarterback quarterback because we don't have one.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_02]: We don't have a locked-in solidified starter.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_03]: straight up the talents undeniable like the talent is undeniable on this kid.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, you know, I can I totally get it.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then there was one other note here that I thought was interesting.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_02]: There's questions about whether or not Cincinnati actually knew about the gambling before he transferred.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure if that's transferred to Cincinnati or transferred away either way, but they're saying that could become a separate NCAA issue if the school actually knew about it.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_02]: At some point in report it's, I mean, the whole thing's a mess.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: It says he hired the high profile sports attorney Jeffrey Kessler, one of his major cases that he's done before was the deflate gate for the new Patriots.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: So if you guys remember that.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so they're getting into it.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's an interesting storyline to follow for sure, but I just wanted to bring that up.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_02]: Talk about it, get your guys' opinion.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_02]: So again, drop it in the comments.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: Love to hear what you guys have to think about that.

- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Kenny, let's shift over here.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_02]: We've got rookie mini camp coming up.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_02]: So that starts on Friday.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be all weekend, Friday Saturday Sunday.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's our first look at these new guys.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_02]: I want to run through real quick, the schedule of the offseason program.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm going to kick it over to you to discuss these rookies.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: But...
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: perfect.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: So like I said, rookie men can't next up, phase one of the offseason program began on April 7.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_02]: So it's already done.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_02]: That was the meetings, the strength and conditioning, and all the teams that had new coaches, new coaching staffs brought in and got to do an early phase one and installation.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_02]: They all that kind of stuff to get acclimated with the new team.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_02]: then we moved into voluntary veteran mini camp that was April 21st to the 23rd so that was right before the draft.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_02]: And next up again rookie mini camp this weekend and then we have the OTA offseason workouts so the offent or yeah offensive training why am I blanking on what OTA is offensive training active no organized team activities.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_03]: Organize.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm so done.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Jesus.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like, well, I'm having the brain for.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just going to start making up words that, you know, might be start with.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, organized team activities.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Kenny.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_02]: This is why I don't like doing the show alone because I got nobody to come from.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, I blanked on Carmen off.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: I found a camera here.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_02]: I go camera justice man.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_02]: At least you didn't do it like in front of her.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like, hey, we love you.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I wrote down, man.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, OTA Offseason workouts, May 19th through the 21st.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: There's three of them.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: That's the first one.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_02]: The second one is May 26th to the 28th, and the third one is June 2nd through the 5th.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: So three OTA sessions, and then you get your mandatory mini-camp and that's June 9th through the 11th.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_02]: And after that, it's into summer break, which is the dreaded period between the spring programs and the start of training camp in Lake July.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I say dreaded for multiple reasons.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: One, for us, for social media content creators, podcasters, people on the radio, the media,
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: content business is bone freaking dry.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_02]: There is nothing to talk about during that four weeks stretch.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_02]: So things get a little wild and weird.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_02]: Oftentimes just downright stupid.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_03]: It's just kind of the way that the news and we're going to be unretiring coming back.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like it'll be crazy, man.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_02]: Like all kinds of stuff.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we see it every year.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_02]: Number two, why it's dreaded.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_02]: This is the, the time when coaches and GMs are just sitting on pins and needles, waiting or hoping they don't receive a phone call that they don't really want to be getting like the last two years, the Browns have had players arrested during the summer break.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's the time when guys crash their motorcycles or getting a voting accident.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_02]: They blow off their fingers, light and fireworks in the fourth of July.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's just the longest stretch of the entire year.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_02]: where there's absolutely nothing happening for the NFL players with their respective teams.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like they're just, they're out of the building and left of their own devices.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, it's, it's always something man.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_03]: With the Browns, we've got to cross our fingers and make sure nothing happens.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_03]: And we just want to stay out of the, out of the headlines at that point for the wrong reasons.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, please, just nothing stupid this year, guys.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_02]: would be awesome.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_02]: So, before we talk about mini camp, specifically Kenny, what was your overall impression of the draft class?
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: Because we haven't had you on the show yet to talk about it.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_02]: You were obviously there with us night one, got to react to the Spencer Fano, the Casey Concepcion picks, and then obviously had more time to marinate over those two and the first round specifically, but then you had the whole weekend and just talked to us, man.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_02]: What was your takeaway?
- 46:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_03]: Well, if you guys watch the show, you know the thing that I do is I hold the Browns accountable to what they say in the presser.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_03]: They want high character guys.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_03]: They want to ask what it guys.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_03]: And they pretty much got that.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_03]: And they got football players, man.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_03]: They got football players.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_03]: Now, if you listen to what I said, too, I said, there was a gaping hole at the left tackle position.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the first thing that they drafted with Fano.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_03]: I think
- 47:16[SPEAKER_03]: based on what our online coach wants to coach, he is the perfect player, the perfect person for him to mold into a left tackle.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think the George Warhop wants to deal with weight issues.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he wants to deal with guys that haven't played much.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_03]: He wants guys that are technicians and athletic and that can move, and that's what this guy is.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't know if you were on this, but like we said draft two receivers in the first round.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that clearly wasn't going to happen based on like trading down to nine.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_03]: But we got KC and we got Denzel like I could not see that happening.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_03]: You could not if somebody mock that to you, you're like, what settings do you have it on?
- 48:04[SPEAKER_03]: It's like you're on your mode.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, to be like, there's no, I would be commenting on that on Twitter and be like, this is a BS draft.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: This will never happen.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_03]: It's impossible to open.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_03]: And then what do you do?
- 48:15[SPEAKER_03]: You put a cherry on top and then you get EMW.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_03]: How does that even happen?
- 48:21[SPEAKER_03]: Like, so you literally as soon as a drafts done at that point, you have to be smiling.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_03]: I'm good.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_03]: I'm out.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_03]: I don't need to hear anymore.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_03]: And for me personally, if you guys watch their mock draft, I mocked Austin Barber and I've been telling Josh, like we text back and forth about this guy, I think he's like, well, it, why it teller that play tackle.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_03]: He literally will pancake you and then body slam you.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_03]: when he guys you down.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_03]: He is, I think, a mean guy, whether he lasts, I can't, I can't tell you that, but he's got enough athleticism, that I told you that George Warhop is looking for, but he's got a mean and nasty streak.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_03]: He looks like an offensive lineman, and I'm pretty happy about that.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_03]: If we got a kick of insight and he's gonna be a guard, I still like it.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_03]: I still like what we can do about molding him into that.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_03]: The next day, I was a little bit shocked about the Parker Brailsford.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't really know him.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, is this how we're going to make a full back?
- 49:24[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't really know what we were doing, but it goes back to what I said earlier.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_03]: our offensive line coach wants athletic guys.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_03]: He is the most athletic guy.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_03]: What he has in common with Joe Thomas, they both are shot put discous guys.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_03]: And what they do is that is a fast hand movement to drive people up when you're run blocking and pass blocking.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_03]: And that's why one of the reasons why I think they got him.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_03]: He was athletic doing other things.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_03]: a pulling center is something amazing to have in the NFL for your run game and it just goes a long way.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_03]: The rest of this guy is either hi-rass or are you going to make our special teams better, Justin Jefferson, 100% makes our special teams better.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_03]: He will be a developmental linebacker.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_03]: I think I see a lot of promise in this guy.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_03]: He is willing to hit and he gets people down.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he wraps up.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_03]: Joe Royer is somebody I did not know, but I do like him.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_03]: I had actually had no idea he was at for two years at like red shirt at Ohio State.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_03]: Unfortunately, his mother passed away.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_03]: So he did not have much playing time there.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_03]: So while we hope he's better after that, he had some great seasons at Cincinnati.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_03]: And he beat most of the records that Travis Kelsey had.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_03]: there as far as like receiving records.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_03]: So I think he's a moldable piece of clay that they can use in their past game and their run game.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_03]: He's a more than a willing blocker.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_03]: We did get another tight end as well in the seventh.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_03]: And he is very much the same to me as Rire.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see if we keep them both or not, but their guys are going to be able to contribute in special teams as well, I think.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_03]: Then I saved the bell of the ball for last.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_03]: He got drafted in the sixth round, not the seventh round.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_03]: It was tail and green.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_03]: And I like listening these pressures.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_03]: I want to hear the questions that they have and how they're answered.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_03]: And if I'm getting a load of BS or not, I would have thought we drafted Lamar Jackson when we were going to get a chance.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_03]: When I sat down and listened to this, I was like, this is a six-thrown pick guys.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_03]: I get that his race was 99.9 or whatever, sorry, 9.99 and he is an amazing specimen.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_03]: But he's still a six-thrown guy that doesn't pass very well.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, he has a big arm.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_03]: He will be a developmental quarterback.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_03]: He could have packages based on his 4.34 speed.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_03]: You know, but he is and I know you've put this out there already.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_03]: He is a six round quarter back that does have has way below a 60% completion average.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see what they do with him, but
- 52:00[SPEAKER_03]: As far as if I had this mock draft, I'll go back to what I said earlier, I gave this to you guys right now.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_03]: You would say you're full of crap.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_03]: That will never happen.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_03]: And I feel like we got in our first four picks, first four round first rounders.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I keep telling, remind everybody, not only did we just come away with 10 players,
- 52:25[SPEAKER_02]: After going in with nine picks, we also came out with two extra fourth round picks next year.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Andrew Barry just...
- 52:32[SPEAKER_02]: He cleaned house in this draft.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_02]: Now, obviously, the players have to get on the field and actually put it into action.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_02]: But on paper, I don't know what more you want the guy to do.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_02]: There's not much more we could ask for as Browns fans.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like, coming out of a draft, this is how you want it to be.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_02]: This is like the pie and the sky.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_02]: And we just got it.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_02]: Now, one thing, you know, Kenny, I didn't see if you got into the discord the other day.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_02]: I posted this in there, because I just want to make sure I wasn't losing my mind thinking about this.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_02]: But,
- 52:57[SPEAKER_02]: You mentioned about having packages for tail and green.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_02]: And did you see this conversation in the discord?
- 53:05[SPEAKER_03]: No, I probably got it.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let me get your opinion on this then.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I want everybody out there to comment along as you guys listen to this.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I've been seeing people social media do the same thing.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'll think of the packages.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: We can use our tail and green and wow cat stuff or put them around the goal line or keep you sneak, whatever.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I was thinking about the other day.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, if you're using packages for tail and green, that means he has to be part of your active game-date roster,
- 53:27[SPEAKER_02]: And he's not going to be your QB2.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_02]: That would be insane.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_02]: That would be absolutely insane.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_02]: So that means you're going to allocate three active game-day spots for quarterbacks.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_02]: Most teams don't do that.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_02]: Most teams will take two.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_02]: They have a QB1 in a backup, and then you have your emergency quarterback who's on the practice squad.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_02]: And the only way they can play is if the first two guys get injured and are rolled out of the game.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_02]: So, you could not designate tail and green as your emergency quarterback and then have packages for him.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_02]: He cannot see the field without injuries to the first two guys.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_02]: So, you would have to take away
- 54:03[SPEAKER_02]: a depth spot on the O line or a special teams player or something, you know, a defense a back.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_02]: You'd have to lose one of those roster spots just to have talent green beat active on game day.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_02]: And I know some people had questions about that.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_02]: On the active roster, you have 53 active roster spots for the season.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_02]: So that's what you have to work with all year long.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_02]: on game days, you can only have 48 of those 53 be active.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_02]: So you get 48 spots on game day, use them however you want to.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I was thinking maybe packages for tail and green is not as foregone of a conclusion as we might have thought.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_03]: you'd have to do what they did with T-SML or back in the day with Antoine Randall L and keep them on a roster on one of those spots tight-end or.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, what I'm saying is he wants to be a quarterback.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone says, well, he's quarterback.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_02]: Andrew Barry says he's quarterback.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't matter if you designate him as a tight-end.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_02]: You're still have to use that roster spot.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_02]: Is he going to go into play tight-end?
- 55:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like, T-SML?
- 55:05[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_03]: That's tough.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_03]: That's tough for him.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's not the same for me.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_03]: But then if you put them on your act of Ross or sorry, if you put them on the practice squad, he may be gone, like you're not going to keep them.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_02]: So you can protect certain players, right?
- 55:20[SPEAKER_02]: You can protect up to a certain number of players on your practice squad and then elevate them for game day as the emergency quarterback.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's how we've done it and the beginning of the year, right?
- 55:28[SPEAKER_03]: And then if you bring them up three times and he's on the right act of roster.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_03]: Right?
- 55:34[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_02]: So it has to be part of the 53.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't have to be dressed for game day.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_03]: He can be an inactive.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, so if you're going to use him for packages and say you use him the first three games for whatever reason it helps you.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_03]: And you call him up three times, then you're, he's on the active roster and he's not going to be a quarterback too.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_03]: It's an interesting, it's an interesting
- 56:01[SPEAKER_03]: place they put themselves in because of his speed.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_03]: I can see him being a DTR precies and everyone's going to lose their mind.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_03]: And they're like, he's going to have to be on the roster.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, so, well, and the thing with like DTR, we went into the season.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_02]: DTR was our QB2.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_02]: So he had a roster spot.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_02]: He had a game day roster spot.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_02]: There was no question about that.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_02]: With Taylor and Greene, if you've got say, say they do what they say they're going to do into Sean Watson's your starter.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, your backup is going to be, unless you're Tony Grossy who wants Dylan Gabriel to be the backup, your backup is going to be Shador, well, you know, you, you cannot have talent green on the 48 game day roster as your QB2 just to use them as certain packages, because if something happens to Deshawn or the starter, now you're stuck to quarterback has to be talent green, and he's not ready to do that.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_02]: And like you said, even if you designate him as a tight end,
- 56:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, that's fine.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_02]: But now you just lost a tight end spot.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_02]: So if something happens to Harold Fanon is it just Fanon and Joe Royer and then Taylor and Greene, who's not a tight end at all?
- 57:02[SPEAKER_02]: You know, no matter how you designate him, he has to take up a spot from somebody.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm trying to think like, how do you do that?
- 57:12[SPEAKER_02]: Now I looked it up, man, I was looking up the other day like K, Lupole's Lupole's Lupole's.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_02]: No, there's no way to get a guy on your 48.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_02]: without tasting up like he has to take up a spot.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_03]: Take some hill never was drafted to be a quarterback.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_03]: He was going to be tied in, correct?
- 57:28[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_02]: Say it was a tight end.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_02]: That was a tight end.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_03]: OK.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_03]: So I know people wanted to do that with a kid out in North Dakota state, too, and you'd be in the same boat.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know how they see this going down.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_03]: This is why I don't want the kid from Cincinnati or from the scuffer gambling club or my other, like it's a convoluted
- 57:51[SPEAKER_03]: QB room as it is.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_03]: And it's a throw another guy in there or even the throw this in like how do you do it with this to Sean Watson anchor is beyond me.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_03]: I mean I guess you could deactivate to Sean or put him on the you know you have to cut him to put him on the practice squad.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_03]: Oh boy.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I don't know.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you may.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I guess.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_02]: Sean Watson has a spot no matter what.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see if the person goes on pop.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_03]: I can tell you guys one thing though, this tail on green man, he is exciting for people to talk about.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_03]: People can't talk enough about him.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_03]: What does that love to shoot?
- 58:28[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_03]: I can't believe, like I was excited watching his highlights are exciting, but I can't believe how excited either our media is or just the fans in general want to talk about this guy.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_02]: I remember when I did my episode with Barry Schuck after the senior boy, we talked about tail and green and Barry Schuck just put out a post and an article on X, I thought was hilarious.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_02]: The way Barry talks is so funny and he writes the same way and he said tail and green, saw him at the senior boy, didn't interview him because he's not a good thrower.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_02]: Like, because he sucks at passing, so there's no point.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's like bad accuracy, didn't see the point in interviewing him, because he's not going to be a quarterback.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, Barry, you are cracking me up, dude, but you know, that was his take away from the senior bull with, with Taylor Greene, and yes, I love his athleticism, is he a quarterback going to be a quarterback?
- 59:18[SPEAKER_02]: That isn't up, he'll climb for him.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, if this was
- 59:23[SPEAKER_03]: uh, if this was like 10 years ago, or I guess what are we now?
- 59:28[SPEAKER_03]: 13 years ago when prior came out, he'd be maybe, maybe turned to receive a right away, just the value that
- 59:38[SPEAKER_03]: Lamar Jackson has put out there with his legs.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's why we're giving this kid a shot.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_03]: But who knows, man?
- 59:45[SPEAKER_03]: Like we'll see how we go through the preseason.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure we're all going to fall love with them.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to want him as a quarterback.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_03]: And then, you know, that'll be the same old Cleveland Browns history.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_03]: The number four string, the number two string are the quarterbacks we want.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I just thought it was interesting when I, and I, again, I just kind of dawned on me like we really can't use this guy in packages without, you know, he's got to be obviously part of the active roster and you're not going to use him for anything else you can't use him as your backup quarterback you can't use him at tight end.
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_02]: And so he's actually ready and trained at those positions so we're really going to.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_02]: It kicks somebody else off the active game day roster to just run this guy out there two three times.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_02]: I just see him for a fetch to me, but we'll see how they decide to handle it.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_02]: But let's see what he'll do.

- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about rookie mini camp and what we're most excited to see here this weekend.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_02]: For me, of the top of my list was Talen Green because I wanted to talk about that specifically.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_02]: I do want to see how he looks.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be the top dog, unless I, how does rookie mini camp where I don't think guys from last year are able to come and stuff.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it's just the rookies, just the young guys.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_03]: So what it is, it'll be roster invites.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be the rookies, the UDFA's, the tri-out players.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_03]: And then there's a couple of, I can't remember the veterans that qualify, but there will be some tenured veterans that are on like, prove it, contracts or something like that.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_03]: And, oh, okay.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_03]: you know, so like we had a couple guys from the CFL came in and tried out and they were veterans and and that kind of stuff.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe some UFL guys can get in there or maybe they can't because of their contracts and they're in league right now.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_03]: But that's who's going to be there.
- 1:02:53[SPEAKER_03]: I kind of liked that because that was like last year.
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_03]: I think they had 60 guys overall.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_03]: We have 10 draft breaks which is a lot.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_03]: The UDFA is I think we have 12 instead of like 16 from last year.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_03]: And then the rest will fill out with triodes from the area and that kind of stuff I actually had all the triodes and I guess I erased it because I only have the UDFA's now, but they got some they've got some pretty good UDFA's as well.
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think they basically went for the highest rascores that they could possibly get.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_03]: I like Fano's brother coming down.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's great for our first round pick to have his brother here He looks like a guy like I like that the one thing that I hear and when I'm looking for defensive players I kind of like what Rutenberg said.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's like heart-mind fist.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_03]: This guy has got violent hands So he'd be a fist player and obviously he'd be a rotational piece, but he's got somebody
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_03]: He's somebody that has a possibility to make this team.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_03]: I think you guys were talking about Sap the other day.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_03]: So I'll let you talk about him a little bit because I don't have the most notes on him.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_03]: One of the corners that we got in like Zion, Washington, and where's his Nate Evans.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_03]: They may have a shots on the team as well.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_03]: Again, their fist guys will physical competitive.
- 1:04:12[SPEAKER_03]: The other guys 200 pounds first of all as well.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_03]: physicality and effort is his trade mark.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see what happens.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_03]: But out of all the guys, I just want to see those receivers catching the ball.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think there's a couple highlights and maybe you can call me crazy, but when David Boston was catching the ball, kind of reminded me a little bit of Harold Fantage Jr.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_03]: Little bit does not run like him.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_03]: He does not run like him.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_03]: I mean a high Paul a high ball Snatch it out of the air catch both hands, you know, I thought man that looks like a Harold van and Jr
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, there's definitely some of Denzel Boston that you watch and you look as some of his metrics and things and guys will compare him to obviously Drake London, Teterone McMillan, same body type, same skill set and if he can develop into that type of player, getting him a 39.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_02]: man that would be awesome.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, obviously the receivers, I'm excited to see, I'm just excited for the clips.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited to see clips of these guys on the field.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I know they're just clips and shorts on the field, you know, rookie's only who cares.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's still fun.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're browned to fans.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_02]: We get excited about this kind of stuff.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_02]: These are the players.
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_02]: We've been, you know, stressing about for months like who are we going to get?
- 1:05:26[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we got them.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see them in action.
- 1:05:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited for it.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_02]: Um, the other corner back, you'd if and I'm going to do a UDFA breakdown here later this week at some point, but Michael Coates Jr. out of West Virginia, the corner back.
- 1:05:40[SPEAKER_02]: Now, he's a smaller guy.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_02]: He's only like five eight, but he's like five eight one 90s kind of rocked up.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's a solid.
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_02]: stout player and from what I was researching on him, the scouts were like, this kid can play in the NFL.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_02]: He just needs to move into nickel and that made me think of you and how much you harped on get a nickel corner, get a nickel corner and we didn't need to address corner at all on the draft and it's like, well, maybe we got the guy we wanted or needed as a UDFA.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, I actually missed him in my notes here.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_03]: I went right around, I went said every corner of but him.
- 1:06:14[SPEAKER_03]: And there's another guy, so we got a receiver.
- 1:06:18[SPEAKER_03]: And one of the big things about Casey is his return ability.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's going to be electric, but when you have a player that magnitude or that caliber, like do you want him
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_03]: taking all the special team snaps, and that may not be something you want to do, but we have this kid at a LSU, Aaron Anderson, and while he's undersized at a 5-8-175, kind of like if you guys remember Gerald the ice-cubing meal back in the 80s, he is a guy that while he could be an elite separator, short person, you know, do his wide receiver stuff, he's actually a hell of a
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_03]: And so I'd like to see what that kid can do now.
- 1:07:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, again, he's a guy that has to make the team doing their white receiver stuff.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_03]: So let's see how he does there.
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_03]: But like when it comes game time, I'm looking forward to this kid.
- 1:07:13[SPEAKER_03]: So.
- 1:07:15[SPEAKER_02]: Me too, definitely that's definitely another guy that I'm going to be highlighting later this week as well.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to talk about him here, so I'm glad you brought him up.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_02]: Just to finish my thought on Taylor and Green from earlier, he's going to be the top dog at quarterback for rookie mini camps.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_02]: So for three days, he will be the guy.
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_02]: the most featured at the position.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_02]: He'll be leading the drills.
- 1:07:33[SPEAKER_02]: He'll be the one throwing to Denzel Boss in the case he concepts you own because I did look it up.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_02]: Second year players are eligible as long as it's technically their first accrued season because of the grand delpit missed his entire rookie season, right?
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_02]: So he would have been eligible for rookie minicamp his second year because it was technically his first year.
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_02]: But so Shador, Dylan, these guys will not be there at rookie minicamp.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_02]: It will be the tail and green show.
- 1:07:59[SPEAKER_02]: So it'll just be interesting to see in the last note I had.
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_02]: I want to know, I want to hear how does EMW look, a manual mechanism warm.
- 1:08:07[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about him, can you talk about him as our, you know, pick 58 in the second round.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_02]: Last year, I remember this.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure you guys do.
- 1:08:14[SPEAKER_02]: Carson Swesinger was turning heads from day one at rookie mini camp and people were saying, man, this guy, I think he's just going to be special, like he's just he's different.
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_02]: Can we get back to back years of that type of rookie mini camp performance from our second round defensive players?
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'm very excited about EMW and I'm just, I'm hoping for a repeat.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_02]: I call me spoiled, call me a spoiled Browns fan, which you really can't do, because we have nothing to be spoiled about, but, you know, with Carson last year, it was high pipe hype and then he just delivered all season long and I've just loved to see EMW start off the same way.
- 1:08:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'd love to see that, too.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, again, like it's just, can't believe that we got that guy where we got him.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_03]: He is a punch out fiend, usually turnovers like that.
- 1:08:59[SPEAKER_03]: They translate over into the NFL.
- 1:09:02[SPEAKER_03]: If he's already doing that, and this can't, that'll be something amazing to see.
- 1:09:06[SPEAKER_03]: Again, like the offensive line and stuff like we won't be able to really judge that, you want to see what maybe we got in the tight ends and again, like, I'll bring it up last year.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_03]: I wanted to draft two running backs and two tight ends and people thought I was a nut bar.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_03]: And I literally, we got our two running backs last year, we got two tight ends this year.
- 1:09:25[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see what they can do.
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_03]: And these guys are guys that are going to be kind of like,
- 1:09:29[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to say Travis Kelsey, but like maybe a Dallas gotter or that's what they're going to try and develop these guys into guys that can make first downs guys that can block you know and and they got the athletic nature to do it and they just have to be coached up with our tight ends coach and monk to know will have a big say in that.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm glad you brought that up because, you know, I won't wrap it up here soon, guys.
- 1:09:51[SPEAKER_02]: But Joe Royer, I know there's people out there and I've seen and I'm not saying like, anybody's wrong.
- 1:09:57[SPEAKER_02]: I see a lot of people saying they're more excited about Carson Ryan getting picked by the Browns than they were Joe Royer.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_02]: I've watched some highlights and some reels and some things of Royer and I'm like, dude, I like the way this guy moves with the ball.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like he glides.
- 1:10:11[SPEAKER_02]: He's
- 1:10:12[SPEAKER_02]: He plays like that big body, like you were just saying, your Dallas got her driver's Kelsey Type Tate in.
- 1:10:17[SPEAKER_02]: This big body just physical but athletic tight end.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_02]: And he's got that size man, six, five, like 250.
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 1:10:26[SPEAKER_02]: If you can turn into a decent pass catching option for the Browns, what a steal.
- 1:10:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, the only reason I could think the guy lasted that long as maybe it was because Cincinnati is not the tier that people would think maybe it's because really he didn't play at Ohio State and he just got those two seasons in so it wasn't enough games, but ultimately for what that guy did in his highlights, I'm pretty excited about him just.
- 1:10:56[SPEAKER_03]: One thing I will say is I think overall we got a super athletic crew of
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_03]: rookies in, but specifically with the receivers and the tight ends included, like there was some big rack in a lot of the highlights that I saw from the tight ends from the receivers.
- 1:11:15[SPEAKER_03]: And you know, will we continue to see that?
- 1:11:18[SPEAKER_03]: Again, it's just many camp, ultimately you want to see them get in and out of hottles.
- 1:11:22[SPEAKER_03]: You want them to be crisp in their routes and make some stuff work out of the offensive playbook that tugs.
- 1:11:30[SPEAKER_03]: munkins allowing them to digest in this first mini camp for them.
- 1:11:35[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I mean, it's, uh, oh, the other, the other thing is, uh, versatility.
- 1:11:41[SPEAKER_03]: These guys are pretty versatile, like look at all.
- 1:11:43[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_03]: We, conception can go everywhere.
- 1:11:46[SPEAKER_03]: And, um,
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_03]: maybe not so much with Boston, but the other tight ends, like I mean, you could possibly split them out.
- 1:11:53[SPEAKER_03]: They could be H-backs, you know, based on their 245-50 pounds.
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, let's see what they got and let's see what they actually do with these guys as well.
- 1:12:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, one note I wanted to make real quick, you're talking about, you know, why did your lawyer fall to the fifth round where the Browns are able to get him?
- 1:12:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think everything you said probably played a factor and also the fact that this was a super deep tight end class.
- 1:12:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it was ridiculous.
- 1:12:17[SPEAKER_02]: This was a solid, strong tight end class and you saw it with how many guys were taken in the second round, the third round.
- 1:12:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think by the time you get to the fifth round in a different class, your lawyer might be a third round pick because there's just not as many options at the position.
- 1:12:32[SPEAKER_02]: had some seriously good tight end.
- 1:12:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then Kenny, I know this is your thing every year.
- 1:12:37[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to go ahead and say it for you.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_02]: And rookie mini camp, this is going to be our first real look at kind of this offensive structure and how things might be flowing.
- 1:12:45[SPEAKER_02]: Can we get more passes to the wider severs downfield instead of dump offs to wider severs or running back some tight ends, right?
- 1:12:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's what you great about every freaking year under Kevin was, all we do is throw the running backs and tight ends.
- 1:12:58[SPEAKER_02]: Where's the receivers?
- 1:12:59[SPEAKER_02]: Then you get to
- 1:13:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, it's just running back some tight ends.
- 1:13:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's all we can do.
- 1:13:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and you know why because you know where they get they're going to be they're easier routes and you don't know what you're doing.
- 1:13:09[SPEAKER_03]: That's why there you go and you're right.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_03]: And clearly the last two years of offense before Mountain we did not know what we were doing.
- 1:13:16[SPEAKER_02]: It was bad.
- 1:13:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so looking for some serious improvements this year and.
- 1:13:21[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, as Browns fans, I was definitely, I've said this many times.
- 1:13:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I was very cynical and skeptical before the draft.
- 1:13:28[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, okay, I see what we're doing with the offensive line.
- 1:13:31[SPEAKER_02]: Show me another good draft before I get bought back in.
- 1:13:34[SPEAKER_02]: And instead of showing me a good draft, they showed me the best freaking draft I could have possibly ever met.
- 1:13:38[SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't even even imagine that, because like you said, you tell me we get those four guys, I would have said bull crap, like that's impossible.
- 1:13:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's impossible to get those four guys while having four first round picks.
- 1:13:50[SPEAKER_03]: And fans should be excited right now.
- 1:13:51[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I like, like, take this with a grain of salt.
- 1:13:54[SPEAKER_03]: You have to get your coaching staff to develop these guys.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:13:59[SPEAKER_03]: And that's a big thing.
- 1:14:00[SPEAKER_03]: But if you take a look at where we were at the beginning of the season, like we did not have an offensive line, all our receivers are the receivers that played the most, their PFF grains were under 60, which is awful.
- 1:14:11[SPEAKER_03]: You know, and now we've made those positions, I won't say if strength because they still have to be turned out but they have been totally retooled into a fashion where they should be better than below average.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_03]: If we're average, we have the defense that we have, like it should be a way better season, you know.
- 1:14:29[SPEAKER_03]: But then, you know, you get all these accolades and you get a lot of pundits that are saying, wow, the Browns have really transformed the roster, but they're going to be a 28th team overall.
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_02]: And then it's worth in the draft.
- 1:14:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, yeah, we got arch manning next year.
- 1:14:44[SPEAKER_03]: We're getting Jeremiah Smith, like, okay, like, where's it?
- 1:14:48[SPEAKER_03]: But I get it, like, you are what your record isn't until you prove them wrong.
- 1:14:52[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, you're spot on, but
- 1:14:55[SPEAKER_02]: That'll do it for today's show guys, comments.
