Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to I saw us on the internet. The last
- 0:02Speaker 1: episode you saw with this group. We had a very
- 0:04Speaker 1: interesting debate about S and L versus UH.
- 0:07Speaker 2: And Living Color. Mal would like to debate some more.
- 0:09Speaker 1: We was talking about Jamie Fox versus Edite Grey, who's
- 0:12Speaker 1: more talented and all this and that. So Mel said,
- 0:14Speaker 1: I want to talk about Martin Lawrence and Will Smith.
- 0:18Speaker 3: They're not gonna win, but I will say, had Martin
- 0:21Speaker 3: kept on his trajectory from the nineties. I have a
- 0:23Speaker 3: theory that when he had that little psychotic break, he
- 0:26Speaker 3: was lobotomized and he has not been the same.
- 0:28Speaker 4: Since Illuminati, and I think he broke.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I think he then remember he had a stroke, Yeah
- 0:37Speaker 2: he did.
- 0:37Speaker 5: He did changes, Yeah, yead he stroke because.
- 0:42Speaker 2: He had that body back.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I want to talk about first we needed debate, No, no,
- 0:46Speaker 1: we needed to debate Martin Show versus The Fresh Prince.
- 0:49Speaker 2: So that's not really what.
- 0:50Speaker 6: To start with.
- 0:51Speaker 1: And I think usually on this debate people fall into
- 0:54Speaker 1: the I made it made me laugh more if they
- 0:58Speaker 1: choose Martin, and it's a better show and it has
- 1:02Speaker 1: more replay value for The Fresh Prince. So which says
- 1:06Speaker 1: you will start with you email since you sorry, which
- 1:08Speaker 1: side of the fence are you on for the show?
- 1:10Speaker 2: And for whatever reasons you decide Fresh Prince?
- 1:14Speaker 3: Really, after all that, after all that, I am a
- 1:17Speaker 3: Fresh Prince person. As far as product I did, I
- 1:21Speaker 3: didn't forget I would bring up Martin Lawrence, not Martin.
- 1:24Speaker 6: I was bringing up not Martin Pa.
- 1:26Speaker 3: So for a Fresh Prince, I think all around it
- 1:30Speaker 3: was a like you said, a better show, it had
- 1:32Speaker 3: more range. Martin show was just we laughing, we niggas,
- 1:35Speaker 3: We got some colorless jokes, were talking about we're talking.
- 1:39Speaker 6: About brother Man. It's funny. We're having a great time.
- 1:42Speaker 6: Fresh Prince.
- 1:43Speaker 3: It's funny. I was watching Fresh Prince the other day.
- 1:45Speaker 3: That ship is still it holds.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Up well, and it holds up.
- 1:50Speaker 5: For different reasons.
- 1:52Speaker 1: The funny parts of Martin is funny, still funny. The
- 1:54Speaker 1: episode reasoning, it's still like Fresh Prince.
- 1:57Speaker 3: You'll laugh, you'll cry, you're getting were learning about drugs
- 2:01Speaker 3: where we got shot.
- 2:04Speaker 1: They got three episodes of that stuff, maybe five, and
- 2:08Speaker 1: people point them same episodes out because Martin has zero.
- 2:11Speaker 6: Zero against zero. They're doing great.
- 2:14Speaker 1: But it's funny because Martin was on Fox and Fresh
- 2:16Speaker 1: Prince was on NBC. It was, and Fox was like,
- 2:20Speaker 1: we're edgy, We're letting the Blacks do what they want
- 2:22Speaker 1: to do.
- 2:23Speaker 2: That was their thing.
- 2:24Speaker 6: A Fresh Princes like a.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Strong black Republican family, republic family. And then it was like,
- 2:32Speaker 3: I mean they both had great guest stars, everybody was
- 2:34Speaker 3: on both shows, but it's Fresh Prince was just I
- 2:37Speaker 3: personally am more leaning even though I was born during Martin,
- 2:41Speaker 3: it was some by Fresh Prince.
- 2:42Speaker 6: I feel like, even to this day, it's just like a.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Okay show, Jason.
- 2:48Speaker 7: I agree with everything you said as far as like
- 2:50Speaker 7: better show, but I'll take Martin Martin just like Dragonfly
- 2:54Speaker 7: Jones and the characters.
- 2:57Speaker 3: And they were so different now honestly shouldn't be compared,
- 2:59Speaker 3: but we're gonna do it anyway.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Can flop Joe When when when he fought Kenji in
- 3:03Speaker 1: the living room of Gina's apart and the cash was
- 3:07Speaker 1: over there, dude and.
- 3:08Speaker 5: He was.
- 3:10Speaker 2: And they were just laughing and they just left in it.
- 3:13Speaker 7: And I don't think Martin gets enough credit for his
- 3:15Speaker 7: stand up like Dude.
- 3:17Speaker 2: His def comedy jam hosting Dude is specials to.
- 3:20Speaker 5: Man in his prime.
- 3:25Speaker 8: I sat there, I remember asking my brother, I was like, yo,
- 3:27Speaker 8: how is this, dude, this funny? Between Def Comedy Jam
- 3:31Speaker 8: and Shoe Martin. I was just sitting there like, how
- 3:36Speaker 8: is he this funny? Like I just got frustrated. I
- 3:39Speaker 8: was like, I've never seen nothing like this at that time.
- 3:41Speaker 1: You know what's funny about that? That's a good point
- 3:43Speaker 1: you bring up, Deff. Comedy Jam has the best of
- 3:48Speaker 1: our generation of comedians at their best. Right, Comedy was good,
- 3:55Speaker 1: but def Comedy Jam has Oh yeah, and Martin was
- 3:58Speaker 1: hosting for all all of them.
- 4:01Speaker 2: When they went to a certain.
- 4:04Speaker 1: But what I'm this what I'm saying, he didn't host
- 4:07Speaker 1: all the Death County Jams, but when all the big
- 4:09Speaker 1: hitters he was there. Comedy Jam went on for a
- 4:12Speaker 1: long time, but that Bernie wasn't. They went on then
- 4:16Speaker 1: and Steve, when you had the people at their best,
- 4:19Speaker 1: Martin had come right back out there and to hold
- 4:22Speaker 1: him own dog and he was.
- 4:25Speaker 2: He came out.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Draw he was the best ever ever ever, Like.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Can you imagine trying to host and then Bernie Max.
- 4:33Speaker 5: Chris Tucker when he lit the stage on time up and.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Because those were career those that at the time careers
- 4:41Speaker 2: that Chris Cooker.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Like Chris Tucker and Dell Chris everybody was from Death.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Comedy Chris Tucker's stand up set. They really took that
- 4:52Speaker 1: and put those words in the movie.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Same time. Man, they was keeping the canes. He was like,
- 4:57Speaker 2: you were from there to twenty million.
- 4:59Speaker 6: In fact, Chris Tuckers from the Cata Georgia. We went
- 5:01Speaker 6: to the same high.
- 5:02Speaker 2: School twenty thirty years later.
- 5:05Speaker 6: Yeah, twenty Suckers on the wall of ninety one.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And you were born in ninety three, wasn't it before?
- 5:12Speaker 6: I can't bringing that up, man, I'm gonna I'm grown up.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Brought it up.
- 5:15Speaker 6: I'm a grown up.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I think that's a good point because when we talk
- 5:19Speaker 1: about Martin in my debates, he's not his death comedy
- 5:23Speaker 1: jams not brought up that much.
- 5:25Speaker 2: I feel like that's general and he's like, was what
- 5:29Speaker 2: was his first one?
- 5:29Speaker 5: His HBO special? Is my favorite Martin stand up?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Is that the one cragging them had been, you know,
- 5:35Speaker 2: cragging them?
- 5:36Speaker 3: Is that the one we said that joke we had
- 5:37Speaker 3: another pants and that's the brown.
- 5:41Speaker 8: Where he was the fly to fly joke, the kind
- 5:44Speaker 8: of learning together now tail that was the tan out
- 5:47Speaker 8: that was.
- 5:49Speaker 5: You're so crazy? Before that, but before that, hang it
- 5:53Speaker 5: up before that, the.
- 5:54Speaker 8: HBO special theme of that to pull it up on
- 5:58Speaker 8: I can't remember.
- 6:00Speaker 7: He had with the Lady on Her period and he's like,
- 6:04Speaker 7: you're looking at your deck like a murder.
- 6:09Speaker 1: And the thing is, Will's gonna beat almost everybody when
- 6:13Speaker 1: it comes to movies actress period except maybe Tom Cruise.
- 6:18Speaker 1: But Martin had some movies that were hilarious. They might
- 6:22Speaker 1: not have box office smashes, but Martin was. He had
- 6:26Speaker 1: Big Mama's House, the first Big Mama's House.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Hello.
- 6:30Speaker 3: He was kind of, you know, a movie I didn't
- 6:32Speaker 3: see until he had what I could.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Find it.
- 6:37Speaker 5: First. Yeah, so you got House Party one and.
- 6:43Speaker 2: To chill you bump at the table, that's Martin.
- 6:46Speaker 5: You got the right streak. That was Martino. He killed Boomerang.
- 6:50Speaker 8: He did absolutely thin line between love and hate Bad
- 6:55Speaker 8: Boys one and two and three.
- 6:58Speaker 5: To take that though, uh you know what I'm saying.
- 7:02Speaker 5: The funeral wild.
- 7:04Speaker 8: Hogs got in like Black Knight. I presume Big Mama's
- 7:06Speaker 8: House one, two and three National Security.
- 7:10Speaker 6: He was in three.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Black Knight.
- 7:14Speaker 6: That was the Son the Steps.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I love Black Knight. I loved it. I
- 7:18Speaker 2: just like Martin.
- 7:18Speaker 4: So it's easy dude.
- 7:19Speaker 7: That's scene in Blue Streak with Tim Robbins when he goes,
- 7:22Speaker 7: hey man, you gotta fucking spider on your head and
- 7:25Speaker 7: Tim Robbins is like, hey man, I don't know all
- 7:27Speaker 7: these urban terms.
- 7:29Speaker 4: What is what is spider?
- 7:31Speaker 2: He goes, you got a motherfucking spider?
- 7:34Speaker 4: I fucking killed me.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Oh so, but.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Will's gonna win the movie debate. Yeah, in any he wasn't.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Will wasn't making comedy movies though he was making sci fi.
- 7:46Speaker 2: He started off.
- 7:47Speaker 3: His first movie was that one movie You Played the
- 7:49Speaker 3: Game Man, But.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Then he was Separation.
- 7:51Speaker 5: Yeah, he was in Where Did They Take?
- 7:53Speaker 6: He was in Made in America with a long and
- 7:55Speaker 6: Will we Go? You know what that is? It was
- 7:58Speaker 6: good watch the movies.
- 8:00Speaker 1: My first Will Smith movie was Independence Day. He punched
- 8:04Speaker 1: the alien in the face and somehow that I heard
- 8:06Speaker 1: the aliens guard even though that they said that was
- 8:08Speaker 1: a protective man, as.
- 8:09Speaker 6: A child said, that's a fucking man right now?
- 8:11Speaker 2: How you said that in your life?
- 8:14Speaker 6: I know a man? I seen one.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Also, Vivica Fox was so dark on fine and Independence Day.
- 8:23Speaker 2: God, I don't know.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you know.
- 8:27Speaker 2: One of my favorite Will Smith movies is Enemy of
- 8:29Speaker 2: the state.
- 8:30Speaker 1: That was good Jesus and Regina Regina King was.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Wasn't gona talk about early Martin movies. I found this
- 8:39Speaker 3: in the Pandemic talking Dirty after Dark. I had never
- 8:41Speaker 3: seen that before.
- 8:42Speaker 5: The movie disappointing.
- 8:43Speaker 6: It's definitely trash.
- 8:44Speaker 3: But I was like, this is news fire because everybody
- 8:49Speaker 3: was Yeah, everybody was in.
- 8:50Speaker 5: I got to see that movie.
- 8:51Speaker 6: I was a comedy club. He's like an upper coming comedian.
- 8:54Speaker 5: In l A never appointment to this moment.
- 8:58Speaker 1: You said fresh friend, you said Martin, Yeah, you said,
- 9:01Speaker 1: what man?
- 9:03Speaker 8: So it's tough pound for pounds. Martin is is smacking
- 9:09Speaker 8: fresh prince in terms of just straight laughs.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Have no raccoon puppy or the dog, the dog fa dog.
- 9:19Speaker 8: But I couldn't deny it, because yeah, I couldn't deny.
- 9:25Speaker 8: I was laughing. I was like, Yo, man, Dragonfly Jones
- 9:28Speaker 8: doing all this extra ship.
- 9:29Speaker 5: I was like, Nile man, get off of me, you
- 9:33Speaker 5: get hurt.
- 9:34Speaker 1: All the characters that the way Jerome look man, jerome.
- 9:39Speaker 5: O, this.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Roscoe white boy.
- 9:43Speaker 5: Bob, Bob from a county man. What was hav Man?
- 9:52Speaker 2: All right, Martin been a church pew and spit it out.
- 9:57Speaker 8: But here's the thing about me and silly. Here you
- 9:59Speaker 8: go got too silly. Here we get too silly later
- 10:04Speaker 8: on in the seasons where it's just like, all y'all
- 10:06Speaker 8: really don't.
- 10:07Speaker 4: See the party all the time.
- 10:09Speaker 2: They didn't have gena, they didn't have genus wrong.
- 10:12Speaker 8: Party all the time is a silly track. But it
- 10:16Speaker 8: was a hit, That's all I'm saying. Andie Murphy made
- 10:19Speaker 8: a musical hit song as a stand up comedian.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Y'all brought it back to me, don't bring it up.
- 10:30Speaker 5: All I'm saying is he has a hit on Billboard,
- 10:34Speaker 5: just like Jamie. Okay, but.
- 10:39Speaker 8: The fresh Prince of bel Air. The writing was leafs
- 10:42Speaker 8: and bounds better. That's not close the character development of
- 10:48Speaker 8: in the dynamic of Carlton and Will, it's just.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Like, we have the funniest person on earth. Let him
- 10:56Speaker 1: do funny things.
- 10:57Speaker 2: We were last, that's all. They didn't try, didn't do nothing.
- 11:00Speaker 5: We got a good ensemble. Phil was dope and Vil
- 11:04Speaker 5: was fired.
- 11:05Speaker 8: Carlton was a great all set to Will, it was
- 11:08Speaker 8: just like that dynamic.
- 11:10Speaker 5: He is just being dumb. We see Ashley grow up.
- 11:13Speaker 5: It was just like in the Shenanigans.
- 11:15Speaker 8: They would get into the women on the Fresh Prince
- 11:17Speaker 8: were just he had all the fun.
- 11:20Speaker 2: They were.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Fun.
- 11:23Speaker 6: If you wasn't on that Japan.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Banks she was. I guess that Neil Long was on there,
- 11:33Speaker 2: season five, episode seventeen.
- 11:38Speaker 5: The original was fired.
- 11:40Speaker 6: I am five thousand. She went on that show.
- 11:44Speaker 5: I don't know. She might have just been watching AU.
- 11:46Speaker 6: She didn't get I think she audition.
- 11:48Speaker 2: She didn't.
- 11:49Speaker 5: She was on a different world.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Was that the time?
- 11:53Speaker 3: I'm thinking that Will filmography he got some ship on him.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I'm not even going on he am even looking. So
- 12:02Speaker 1: he gonna bet him on that either on what on
- 12:04Speaker 1: top three Martin Movies. There's nothing in the movie.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Martin Movies has Will what I'm saying.
- 12:12Speaker 1: So once you get out of the TV show, the
- 12:13Speaker 1: House Party is top three for Will Martin.
- 12:16Speaker 5: Oh for Martin. House Party is one of my favorite comedies.
- 12:19Speaker 5: All right, So I'm gonna go with Fresh Prince overall
- 12:26Speaker 5: because Martin ran out of steam.
- 12:28Speaker 1: When him and Tisha Campbell weren't getting together that whole season.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It was just far flat because they spend so much
- 12:36Speaker 1: trying to trying to make make it make sense why
- 12:38Speaker 1: Tcha Campbell's not in there?
- 12:39Speaker 2: That you really can't make that show makes sense.
- 12:42Speaker 1: That's like crossing not being in the fresh Prince like
- 12:46Speaker 1: dog you need him.
- 12:47Speaker 5: But pound for pound funny Martin is smacking of most
- 12:52Speaker 5: TV shows in existence.
- 12:53Speaker 1: That's why I choose Martin because I just be wanting
- 12:57Speaker 1: to laugh. I don't care. I want Martin to say,
- 13:01Speaker 1: not my Mama's biscuits. I want him You've got the world,
- 13:06Speaker 1: you gotta love myras feed or whatever they said is gonna.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Work, I'm gonna work.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I like, I like to just be like, this is
- 13:14Speaker 1: Martin having the dog. I heard that's because they wanted
- 13:16Speaker 1: a dog and they couldn't get it through.
- 13:18Speaker 2: The fake dog and then seeing them losing it.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And then not editing it out got the draw when
- 13:26Speaker 1: Martin got the dog, got the dog.
- 13:28Speaker 2: And when Martin lost that and he was the day
- 13:31Speaker 2: to get you over said dog.
- 13:34Speaker 1: They just turned the cameras on and was like, let
- 13:36Speaker 1: him pretty.
- 13:40Speaker 2: From the fifth floor.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Tracy Tracy Morgan Hustleman had a kazoo, take you to
- 13:46Speaker 1: a saxophone, blew the kazoo, but play the saxophone.
- 13:51Speaker 5: It's still my favorite.
- 13:52Speaker 8: Tracy Morgan hip, I got this chick the chickens cheese chickens.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Hue and fun, chilly and dumb and fun.
- 14:02Speaker 5: But it was it was.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I would not argue that The Fresh Print is a
- 14:06Speaker 1: better show. But if you asked me, keV, you're going
- 14:09Speaker 1: you got three hours and you're gonna get to watch
- 14:11Speaker 1: your favorite episodes of both.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Oh yeah, turn on line.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I am I'm the man. I'm not gonna watch the
- 14:18Speaker 2: last season.
- 14:20Speaker 8: Oh when it changed into the little Car Car, you
- 14:24Speaker 8: come out and it was creepy man.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Probably the the time I almost peede laughing hardest in
- 14:32Speaker 1: my life when Martin Fought told.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Me to say that.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Yeah, when he came out of that room and his
- 14:39Speaker 1: head was this. He was sitting on that coming out
- 14:44Speaker 1: hair he was I almost had asthma attacked the first
- 14:48Speaker 1: I was gonna die bro in real time because we
- 14:53Speaker 1: were alive. He came out man with no we didn't
- 14:57Speaker 1: know what was happening. The way he sat down, his
- 15:02Speaker 1: head was this. Want to take a quick break from

- 16:35Speaker 8: Go to school quote and Martin, like Friday, we would,
- 16:38Speaker 8: don't you know, no, we all singing.
- 16:41Speaker 2: We would.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I remember playing outside. We would stop like bikes on
- 16:46Speaker 1: the ground, the basketball dribbles, and everybody would run home
- 16:51Speaker 1: in enough time to see Martin. Right, that didn't happen
- 16:54Speaker 1: for Frustrats, not that it wasn't as good as show.
- 16:57Speaker 1: But if you came the next day to outside and
- 17:00Speaker 1: you didn't see the episode one is wrong with don't

- 17:10Speaker 1: when Gina went to the dentist, and.
- 17:13Speaker 8: He wanted her to come to the reunion so he
- 17:15Speaker 8: can stand. I'm changing my answers. Wow, it's just like no,
- 17:28Speaker 8: I'm going back to the Fresh princeated funny.
- 17:34Speaker 6: It's funnier. I think that's fair. I don't think any
- 17:36Speaker 6: of us disagree.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 17:39Speaker 1: The Fresh Prince and the Fresh Princes don't have a
- 17:42Speaker 1: bad season. Like they transitioned well into will going.
- 17:45Speaker 6: They wrapped it. I like, when the season can serious,
- 17:49Speaker 6: can just end.
- 17:49Speaker 1: The only walk knock on the Fresh Prince probably is
- 17:54Speaker 1: when they switched to the light Skin Aren't Viv. Viv's
- 17:58Speaker 1: character never had nothing. She had, she had her own job.
- 18:06Speaker 1: She had the dance episode. She had one of my
- 18:08Speaker 1: favorite Fresh Prince episodes. She kept breaking everybody's hand she
- 18:11Speaker 1: was giving birth to Nikki and the episode, Yeah, I
- 18:15Speaker 1: don't know if it was the last one. I'm just
- 18:17Speaker 1: saying that that was one of but she had her
- 18:19Speaker 1: own like stuff.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Was just like you just be over here and be smiling.
- 18:27Speaker 6: Yeah, she's a nice lady.
- 18:29Speaker 3: But she's nice and I'm not glad about it.
- 18:33Speaker 1: She did, but they didn't. They didn't write for her.
- 18:36Speaker 1: She can't say lines that are not not there. Uh,
- 18:40Speaker 1: they and I don't know. I think they probably just
- 18:42Speaker 1: wanted to stay away from that.
- 18:44Speaker 6: Niky looked like dark skin unvibed. Who was this job mammy?
- 18:48Speaker 1: Because that's who gave birth to him? Because it was
- 18:51Speaker 1: dark skinned Viv when she gave birth.
- 18:53Speaker 3: When he was out, it was like he was aware
- 18:56Speaker 3: of itself because it was like the scene so like
- 18:58Speaker 3: unbib and sees the four season five, little Nikki came
- 19:01Speaker 3: and then Jazz came in, who's playing the mom this year.
- 19:04Speaker 6: It was funny and then it just like a.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Fully five year old grown Nikki walking and they addressed it,
- 19:09Speaker 3: and I'm like, we love that.
- 19:11Speaker 6: Let's continue sitcom.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Okay, so we said Martin Fresh, Prince Martin Fresh.
- 19:17Speaker 6: Prince Fresh, Martin.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Martin.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I think they're just different shows.
- 19:23Speaker 5: But yeah, I think your favorite Seinfeld is not favorite
- 19:28Speaker 5: all the time.
- 19:28Speaker 7: You know what my buddy told me, Like I never
- 19:31Speaker 7: watched Seinfeld. I've watched it now afterwards, but I didn't
- 19:34Speaker 7: watch it like real time. My buddy told me something
- 19:36Speaker 7: about Seinfeld, and it's so true. It's the perfect background noise,
- 19:40Speaker 7: like if you're doing something, put on just put on Seinfeld,
- 19:43Speaker 7: let him play, and it's it's great. And now I
- 19:46Speaker 7: like Seinfeld a lot.
- 19:47Speaker 5: They watched them.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Yeah, George, it's so funny.
- 19:51Speaker 5: From top to bottom. That's hilarious.
- 19:53Speaker 3: I only know because I know interludes, and that's how
- 19:56Speaker 3: I know that's all is kinmad.
- 19:59Speaker 2: So what were you saying? Top five Will Will Smith movies?
- 20:02Speaker 6: Top five or even top three?
- 20:03Speaker 3: I think top three is a little easier because top
- 20:04Speaker 3: I mean it's one person's movies.
- 20:06Speaker 5: He has he has a lot, though, top three, we
- 20:09Speaker 5: gotta do three.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Any of the State is my favorite Will Smith movie.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Yeah, that might be.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Maybe maybe I could do five.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Will Any of the States my favorite. He was really great,
- 20:19Speaker 1: and it has Tom Sizemore, who I love. He's never
- 20:21Speaker 1: been in a bad movie.
- 20:23Speaker 2: He was great.
- 20:24Speaker 1: R P to the Goat, Gene Hacklen was great. You're there,
- 20:26Speaker 1: incredibly smarter, incredibly stupid. Also, that movie starts off and
- 20:31Speaker 1: they don't stop from the cheating to the to the
- 20:35Speaker 1: c D. Jack Black is in there, standard training, seth Green,
- 20:40Speaker 1: John Voyd, Barry Pepper, Barry Pepper, Star Study Castle.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I love Any of the State.
- 20:47Speaker 4: Allie got all got.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Wetight guys as people make it out, and I like
- 20:55Speaker 1: the white dude in there. I can't think Kevin Klink
- 20:57Speaker 1: was great. That movie didn't make as much. That's why
- 21:00Speaker 1: people got such.
- 21:00Speaker 2: A hard meal. But the budget was yeah, uh shoot.
- 21:05Speaker 5: He did that and turned down the matrix.
- 21:07Speaker 2: I know he regrets that he turned down, but.
- 21:09Speaker 5: I did why he did it. I would have done
- 21:11Speaker 5: the same. Yeah, I would have done the same thing,
- 21:13Speaker 5: all right.
- 21:13Speaker 1: So in me, the State Men in Black was great,
- 21:18Speaker 1: flawless movie. I really like I am legend a lot.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I think there's very few actors period who can.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Legends. Definitely he was when he when that dog died, I.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Felt I was like, talk about the sequel and they're
- 21:37Speaker 3: gonna go with the altimate was much.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Better to me, makes way more sense.
- 21:42Speaker 4: King Richard's good.
- 21:43Speaker 5: He was great King Richard.
- 21:45Speaker 2: He deserves and will Smith does accents though, I.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Just always it always takes me out of Yeah, when
- 21:51Speaker 1: he was doing King Richard's accent, it was her rich
- 21:53Speaker 1: Williams accent. Yeah, I hated that doctor.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Richard, I'm trying to talk write with you Williams.
- 22:03Speaker 6: In the southern situation going on like that.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Uh, Hitch, I love hitch Handcock.
- 22:11Speaker 5: Half the Handcock is excellent.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Half they went away from their own rules and I
- 22:16Speaker 1: hate when movies do that. You're supposed to be dying.
- 22:18Speaker 5: That could have been the best ship ever.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Actually I really like Hitch. I don't hit your
- 22:22Speaker 2: man and uh, where the.
- 22:25Speaker 8: Bad Boys are not to give you one? Okay, yeah,
- 22:30Speaker 8: bad Boys the first.
- 22:32Speaker 6: Bad Boys mineus too, specifically.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Two is the Devil's not welcome here. I like Bad
- 22:38Speaker 2: Boys Too, was a good time.
- 22:40Speaker 6: I like that one of the very black dams and Distress.
- 22:43Speaker 6: I have a whole thing about that.
- 22:44Speaker 3: One of the reasons I started doing my series because
- 22:46Speaker 3: there's no black woman in these movies or damsels in
- 22:48Speaker 3: the stress and movies. I think only two black dams Distress,
- 22:53Speaker 3: I can I can think of It's Bad Boys Too
- 22:55Speaker 3: and Blade, And I can't think of the other movies.
- 22:57Speaker 6: That I've personal.
- 22:57Speaker 8: Miami, alright, see that they had to go get Naomi
- 23:02Speaker 8: Hair and South of the Trailer.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Sure, and they won't go back to you with the
- 23:10Speaker 1: top five Wheels.
- 23:12Speaker 8: Uh top five will Bad Boys? Maybe one even know
- 23:22Speaker 8: that maybe.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Martin was the bigger star in one, wasn't he at
- 23:25Speaker 2: the time?
- 23:26Speaker 5: It was? Yeah? Uh in me of the state shoot
- 23:38Speaker 5: uh men in black.
- 23:40Speaker 8: It's gonna be the same pretty much the same goddamn
- 23:43Speaker 8: lists different Uh I am legend.
- 23:50Speaker 5: I am legend. And then rounding it out.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Pursue the happiness I forgot about that seven pounds actually
- 24:03Speaker 1: probably like pursuit of happiness more than Hitch.
- 24:08Speaker 5: Happiness is really good.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I love that he made me so sad when that
- 24:11Speaker 1: Little Boys in the Bathroom.
- 24:13Speaker 5: I haven't seen emancipation. By the way, we have another accent.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I put bad boys too, Bad boys too, and one
- 24:22Speaker 1: he was good in maturmation though.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I haven't seen.
- 24:25Speaker 6: Yeah, it's okay, bad boys too. I robot.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Oh.
- 24:30Speaker 5: I like that I had Simmons in it, Simmons.
- 24:35Speaker 6: Men in black. I want to say, would.
- 24:39Speaker 5: You say you say bad boys too? I rolle by
- 24:41Speaker 5: men in black?
- 24:42Speaker 6: Independence Day?
- 24:44Speaker 5: Oh?
- 24:44Speaker 3: Yeah, And I can't beside the side between shark Tail
- 24:49Speaker 3: and Hitch.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Shark Tal does not hold up. I just watched when
- 24:53Speaker 2: Shark came out. I put the day.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I put that on for my preschool kids when I
- 24:58Speaker 1: worked in the daycare. You would have been a child
- 24:59Speaker 1: in there.
- 25:00Speaker 5: I've never watched.
- 25:02Speaker 2: I just rewatched it for research.
- 25:06Speaker 5: Research.
- 25:07Speaker 6: Whoa more than I like Madagascar?
- 25:11Speaker 5: Really?
- 25:12Speaker 2: I did not like Madagascar. Wasn't that Chris Rocking there?
- 25:18Speaker 3: And Ben Steller and Ben what's the one white man
- 25:21Speaker 3: name I'm looking right in his face? Not Zach braf
- 25:26Speaker 3: Ray Romano was Ice, which is also.
- 25:29Speaker 5: Good it's Ben Steller, Jada, Chris and the White Man from.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Friends, Tom Mcgrathtar David Swimmer, David David Swimmer.
- 25:39Speaker 2: He was really funny in that. Dang, I forgot about that.
- 25:42Speaker 6: Okay, what's yours?
- 25:44Speaker 4: I am Legends number one for me?
- 25:46Speaker 5: Uh? Uh?
- 25:48Speaker 4: Put Independence Day in there? What was the one?
- 25:53Speaker 5: Uh?
- 25:53Speaker 4: It was based on the true story with his son where.
- 25:57Speaker 7: Yeah, I like that. I gotta rewatch Jenemy of the State.
- 26:00Speaker 7: It's been so long I remember seeing it, but I can't.
- 26:02Speaker 1: It holds up really well, except the technology looks because
- 26:06Speaker 1: it's like Bad Boys.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Put the first Yeah, I'll put the first one? What
- 26:11Speaker 4: is that for? And then I'll do? Uh?
- 26:18Speaker 5: I did? I did?
- 26:19Speaker 4: Like?
- 26:19Speaker 5: Uh?
- 26:20Speaker 4: What's you mc?
- 26:20Speaker 5: Call it? The one?
- 26:21Speaker 4: King Richard?
- 26:23Speaker 5: It was great. I don't know.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I love it.
- 26:26Speaker 7: I like movies based on true stories, like and then
- 26:28Speaker 7: you try and afterwards be like, okay, how accurate is this?
- 26:31Speaker 5: Look it up?
- 26:33Speaker 2: Order Top five Martin movies in reverse order.
- 26:37Speaker 4: First you put this pressure on me. Yeah, I don't
- 26:42Speaker 4: have the Tony mind.
- 26:43Speaker 2: You should go with somebody else first ahead.
- 26:46Speaker 8: Uh. Top five Martin movies House Party, Bad Boys one,
- 26:50Speaker 8: Bad Boys two, Boomerang, and.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Man, let me see if you have I guess the
- 27:09Speaker 5: thin line between love and hate. All right, I'll go on.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Was looking life, Oh life.
- 27:15Speaker 8: Life, bad line of life. I cannot believe I forgot life.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I was like, this is great. Life is my favorite
- 27:25Speaker 2: Martin movie.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Absolutely, he really held his own against or with Eddie.
- 27:29Speaker 1: For sure, he was great.
- 27:30Speaker 5: He already outshined Eddie, and so I knew he was capable.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Yeah, house party, Oh my god, but that don't really
- 27:39Speaker 1: do the right thing.
- 27:40Speaker 5: That don't really count why he's in it.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Not a Martin movie?
- 27:44Speaker 5: Okay? Fine? Uh th line then, I.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Like nothing to lose a lot.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Nothing to lose is good tim uh Tim Robbins, Tim Robbins,
- 27:53Speaker 1: And I liked the original Big Mama's House. He was
- 27:56Speaker 1: funny to me, and I like silly and bad boys.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I forgot about that.
- 28:01Speaker 7: That's nothing to okay, I'll take off their line and
- 28:04Speaker 7: put bad boys, bad boys, Big mama House and put
- 28:07Speaker 7: that boys to.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Boomerang bad boy, I mean Big Mama's House.
- 28:12Speaker 5: Uh.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Black Knight, definitely, y'all don't like. I watched Black Knight
- 28:21Speaker 3: on my own time as a kid. All right, my
- 28:27Speaker 3: personal the top. But it's like that's not Martin Movie,
- 28:33Speaker 3: House Party. He's just in it. He's in it. Wouldn't no, no,
- 28:42Speaker 3: he's in it major Martin Movie's Martin Movies.
- 28:47Speaker 1: But he's in Boomerang this similar amount. If you got
- 28:51Speaker 1: he ain't there as much as he is in Boomerang.
- 28:54Speaker 1: He's still a show for show, and with both of those,
- 28:57Speaker 1: he was in there.
- 28:57Speaker 6: Like I'll say, that's not one of my favorite my performances.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Okay, you can say that. You can say what I mean.
- 29:05Speaker 2: It was funny.
- 29:06Speaker 5: I remember liking it, but I don't remember it like that.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Why you don't like Big Mama's House.
- 29:11Speaker 5: I do.
- 29:11Speaker 6: It was cool.
- 29:12Speaker 2: It was cool.
- 29:16Speaker 5: For the top five just.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Because he had the wig.
- 29:18Speaker 8: Or I'll look at like you got Big Mama's House
- 29:22Speaker 8: in the top five when you got Life, House Party,
- 29:25Speaker 8: Bad Boys one and two, Boomerang out here.
- 29:29Speaker 6: Damn. I didn't say life.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Maybe life I don't give to you.
- 29:31Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying. So I was like Big
- 29:32Speaker 5: Mama sound yeah, alright.
- 29:34Speaker 7: Uh, not in any type of order, but we'll definitely
- 29:37Speaker 7: do Boomerang. A thin line between love and hate. Uh,
- 29:43Speaker 7: Bad Boys, Uh, I might put.
- 29:47Speaker 5: Both join.
- 29:51Speaker 7: Death of the Funeral. Life interesting oh yeah, life, you
- 29:55Speaker 7: left that out, all right, there you go.
- 29:57Speaker 2: All right, that's enough hot take, and then we're closing.
- 30:03Speaker 3: My hot take is Bernie Mac would not be seen
- 30:07Speaker 3: in such a legend had Robin Harris not died prematurely.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Those are always hard to do for me because you
- 30:15Speaker 1: the you don't know what Robin Harris would have done.
- 30:19Speaker 2: That's like Kevin Hart. They say that about they say
- 30:21Speaker 2: that about Kevin Hart. He's thinking thinking.
- 30:24Speaker 1: They say, Kevin Hart wouldn't be Kevin Hart. If kat
- 30:26Speaker 1: Williams Uh didn't fundl the bath she said fight middle schoolers.
- 30:33Speaker 3: He really did and white people, he would have never
- 30:37Speaker 3: had that success.
- 30:39Speaker 6: But that's another conversation.
- 30:41Speaker 2: That's a good point. Rob trying to get a bad Bernie.
- 30:45Speaker 6: And I'm not saying Bernie's not funny at all.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Do you feel like Bernie Mack and Robin Harris were
- 30:49Speaker 2: in the exact same lane. No, because they were both
- 30:51Speaker 2: working at the same time.
- 30:52Speaker 6: They were. That's what I'm saying. It's kind of like,
- 30:55Speaker 6: who's somebody that died.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I don't Bernie.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I don't think there's nothing Bernie Mac had in his
- 30:59Speaker 1: career that heould't have had it.
- 31:00Speaker 5: They were say, Robin Harris is known for roasting people.
- 31:05Speaker 3: That's his I'm saying, like that real uncle of comedy
- 31:07Speaker 3: of that generation.
- 31:08Speaker 6: I feel like that.
- 31:09Speaker 1: I mean show, was it Bernie Matt show that he Yeah,
- 31:13Speaker 1: but he got that off of off the Kings of Comedy.
- 31:17Speaker 1: He still would have been on Kings of Comedy, I believe,
- 31:20Speaker 1: and he STI would have got that show. He still
- 31:21Speaker 1: had that deaf comedy jam like those are Bernie three
- 31:24Speaker 1: of his tenants Kings of Comedy. I'm sorry, Deaf Comedy Jam,
- 31:28Speaker 1: Kings of Comedy, Bernie Max Show.
- 31:30Speaker 2: I don't think Robin Harris being alive would.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Have changed would have had actual competition with because he
- 31:36Speaker 3: watched everybody on Kings of Comedy.
- 31:37Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 31:39Speaker 6: You don't think he could compete with?
- 31:40Speaker 1: No, no, no, I don't think. I don't think Robin
- 31:42Speaker 1: Harris would have changed anything about Bernie Max's career. I
- 31:45Speaker 1: think they were in different lanes comedically, and maybe.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Because I wasn't alive during either, well not I wasn't
- 31:50Speaker 3: not alive during but like I wasn't alive.
- 31:52Speaker 1: To see Robin Harris passing what ninety three or ninety four,
- 31:57Speaker 1: because he passed before Baby's kids.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Right, yeah, I didn't.
- 32:03Speaker 1: I didn't learn that party was nineteen love he got
- 32:06Speaker 1: March eighteenth, nineteen ninety.
- 32:07Speaker 6: Now I'm getting tomatoes, y'all. Mad geez. He just wanted
- 32:14Speaker 6: them back at the tip Gate.
- 32:16Speaker 5: I just tho, I don't even put them together.
- 32:19Speaker 1: No really, I think because Bernie Max's stand up was
- 32:24Speaker 1: so unique to him, they gonna give that show Bernie.
- 32:28Speaker 3: I'm saying he wanted to got Bernie Mackshaw. Yeah, but
- 32:30Speaker 3: I mean that's what that was like ten years after
- 32:32Speaker 3: he I can't.
- 32:32Speaker 5: Even imagine Bernie mac roasting people.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Nah, they were different, but I feel like the old
- 32:38Speaker 3: genius because he was even Actually he really not that.
- 32:41Speaker 6: Much older than Steve.
- 32:44Speaker 5: Robin Harris looked old, but he wasn't that old.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Neither was Bernie a four year difference. Bernie mack was
- 32:53Speaker 1: four years younger than Robin Harris age. Yeah, roughly.
- 32:58Speaker 6: I just feel like I love Robin Hairs.
- 33:01Speaker 8: Robin Harris looked like an old man, but he wasn't.
- 33:03Speaker 8: And then Bernie aged me old man.
- 33:07Speaker 5: He didn't give me old man energy though.
- 33:09Speaker 6: It is very you know what, that's fair. I was
- 33:11Speaker 6: thinking that too.
- 33:12Speaker 3: It's got a lead people like oh Beyond, it wouldn't Beyonce,
- 33:14Speaker 3: but Lea didn't die like they were.
- 33:16Speaker 6: Was already out.
- 33:16Speaker 1: And also Bernie Bernie get into the Ocean's eleven universe
- 33:23Speaker 1: in a way. I don't know that Robin Harris would
- 33:24Speaker 1: have Bernie mac. He didn't have a lot of space
- 33:27Speaker 1: in that movie. But he was Remember he was shaking
- 33:29Speaker 1: the man's hand.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Come on, I'm not saying they.
- 33:34Speaker 6: Were the same at all.
- 33:34Speaker 3: I'm saying, like that comedy, oh genius of it all?
- 33:37Speaker 3: Do you think he would have been in Kings of Comedy?
- 33:39Speaker 6: Not saying he.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Would have replace Bernie Bernie. If Robin was in there,
- 33:42Speaker 1: he would have bumped somebody, but he would have Bernie.
- 33:44Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. I feel like Robin would have
- 33:46Speaker 3: been one of the Kings of Comedy for sure.
- 33:47Speaker 1: But Bernie wouldn't have been out. Bernie still would have
- 33:50Speaker 1: had his set. Bernie had the best set, uh to
- 33:56Speaker 1: me on there.
- 33:57Speaker 6: Absolutely, that's why he was left.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Actually Cedric said he was closing on those shows they
- 34:03Speaker 1: the movie the Bernie, but Cric set was amazing.
- 34:09Speaker 2: But but Bernie set was so personal that it was
- 34:12Speaker 2: just like.
- 34:13Speaker 8: The energy on his set was just different than what
- 34:16Speaker 8: we were seeing on the rest of the show. It
- 34:18Speaker 8: was just like a different like on it. And so
- 34:22Speaker 8: the thing is with Bernie Mack is that you know,
- 34:25Speaker 8: I don't know. I don't know what you mean by
- 34:27Speaker 8: og Do you mean age or do you mean he
- 34:30Speaker 8: just said like.
- 34:31Speaker 6: A because Okay, I watched them again.
- 34:33Speaker 3: This is why I felt this way because I was
- 34:36Speaker 3: watching the documentary on TV when I was watching his
- 34:38Speaker 3: own son, and he ran that room out here what
- 34:41Speaker 3: was it called.
- 34:41Speaker 5: Yeah, the Comedy act Theater.
- 34:44Speaker 3: So it just seemed like he was just such a
- 34:45Speaker 3: big pillar in comedy.
- 34:47Speaker 2: The thing is black comedy is a small that.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Was black l a comedy which is dope, but it's
- 34:53Speaker 1: a small subset of a small subset of I didn't
- 34:57Speaker 1: even know that, and I'm a comedian. I also didn't
- 34:59Speaker 1: know about tripping on two days. I mean, what was
- 35:00Speaker 1: god tories?
- 35:02Speaker 5: Uh, Tuesday fast Tuesdays.
- 35:04Speaker 1: I didn't know that impact until the documentary, right, because
- 35:07Speaker 1: that was if you lived in La you knew about that.
- 35:10Speaker 1: The world didn't know about Robin Harris like that, I
- 35:13Speaker 1: mean his room in La nor fat Tuesdays like that.
- 35:18Speaker 1: The comedy world knew about it. But the overall world
- 35:20Speaker 1: everybody knew about Kings of Comedy because that was a
- 35:22Speaker 1: movie in theaters. You know what I'm saying.
- 35:24Speaker 3: I think of the timeline too. I was thinking as
- 35:26Speaker 3: as his his old genius.
- 35:28Speaker 6: That's what I was like. Dang, yeah, he was like
- 35:30Speaker 6: that dude.
- 35:30Speaker 2: It really was.
- 35:31Speaker 5: The old.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Room was running that room.
- 35:34Speaker 3: So so many people came through that room to make it.
- 35:37Speaker 3: And I think he predated he died before death Comedy jam.
- 35:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm saying he.
- 35:42Speaker 6: Could have been really big.
- 35:43Speaker 2: He got the death track, workerd from Comedy Theater had continued.
- 35:47Speaker 6: The house party do the right thing.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Was his trajectory.
- 35:50Speaker 8: Was he was way house House Party was going to
- 35:54Speaker 8: make him a star absolutely once that movie hit. He
- 35:57Speaker 8: died in nineteen ninety. Movie came out in nineteen ninety.
- 36:00Speaker 8: Was like an old boy from Dirty Shamee. And then
- 36:02Speaker 8: so they had to scrap baby.
- 36:04Speaker 6: We'll never know what it would have been.
- 36:05Speaker 8: But from the outside looking in, because I'm in Chicago
- 36:08Speaker 8: during all this, and so Chicago, so you see Robin Harris.
- 36:12Speaker 8: I didn't see Bernie yet at all. Robin Harris. I
- 36:15Speaker 8: see him on Robert Townsend's Partners in Crime. And then
- 36:20Speaker 8: I see him show up in MO Better Blues do
- 36:22Speaker 8: the right thing. So I'm like, yo, who was this guy?
- 36:24Speaker 8: He's funny because they had him doing jokes on MO
- 36:26Speaker 8: Better Blues like so he was doing the set that
- 36:29Speaker 8: we were seeing and other So I was just seeing
- 36:31Speaker 8: this dude from that, like, not knowing about the comedy
- 36:33Speaker 8: act theater in LA I was just like this dude
- 36:35Speaker 8: right here, and then it was like house party was like, Yo,
- 36:39Speaker 8: this dude hilarious.
- 36:43Speaker 6: So it died. So then after not saying that perfect
- 36:46Speaker 6: my chance.
- 36:46Speaker 3: I didn't say Bernie did that, but I'm saying never knowing,
- 36:48Speaker 3: then Bernie started coming.
- 36:50Speaker 6: When was coming Gym, I.
- 36:52Speaker 5: Was like Bernie.
- 36:55Speaker 8: Ninety two and then he didn't blow up until things
- 36:59Speaker 8: account He was two thousands, no.
- 37:01Speaker 6: But he was in. He was a Friday. He was in.
- 37:03Speaker 5: He was he was just doing the little small.
- 37:06Speaker 6: Job everybody blew up. But he had to be big
- 37:09Speaker 6: before then to get on the.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Comedy he was.
- 37:10Speaker 8: He was only in the in the he was only
- 37:13Speaker 8: in the Nish black stuff. So he was in Don't
- 37:15Speaker 8: Be a Minute Players and Uh Players Club.
- 37:18Speaker 5: He was in House three. He was a House Party three.
- 37:22Speaker 1: He was Robin mam, got that I knew, I.
- 37:29Speaker 5: Knew your name. He used to call you job people
- 37:36Speaker 5: like it.
- 37:36Speaker 6: What is that that first one?
- 37:40Speaker 5: It's a it?
- 37:42Speaker 2: Oh it's a yeah. I think Ward Harry Potter.
- 37:45Speaker 3: I can't I can't see what it is from here.
- 37:47Speaker 3: It looked different on computer.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Sometimes it would have been interesting to see what movies
- 37:51Speaker 1: Robin Harris was in that Hollywood was picking the one
- 37:55Speaker 1: black out of time thing. So maybe that's what you mean, like,
- 37:58Speaker 1: if he's going, is is he getting the roles Bernie
- 38:01Speaker 1: mack with a Bernie mac gott.
- 38:03Speaker 3: I was trying to think of, Like, so, what was
- 38:05Speaker 3: Bernie's thing? Because like Steve and Cedric already had the
- 38:08Speaker 3: Steve Harvey show, King's Comedy came out?
- 38:10Speaker 6: What was d O was hosting comedic view? What was
- 38:12Speaker 6: Barnie Bernie?
- 38:13Speaker 1: So this is Bernie the original Kings of comedy. Boy
- 38:17Speaker 1: got him, don't listen, this is his thing? It was
- 38:20Speaker 1: it was bit rolls and movies starting ninety two, More Money.
- 38:23Speaker 2: I didn't remember him. Who's the Man? House Party?
- 38:25Speaker 1: Three, Above the Rim, The Walking Dad Friday, Don't be
- 38:28Speaker 1: a Minace, Get on the Bus, Reasons, Booty Call Baps,
- 38:33Speaker 1: How to Be a player was his he was prominent.
- 38:36Speaker 1: That's ninety seven players.
- 38:39Speaker 6: Trying to be a player. He was the man's the ladies.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Yeah, husband, I'm sorry, Players Club, You're right.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Ninety eight he was dollar Bill ninety nine was Life,
- 38:46Speaker 1: Kings of Comedy two thousand, Ocean's eleven, two thousand and one,
- 38:51Speaker 1: and then.
- 38:52Speaker 6: His comedy is when everything to start.
- 38:53Speaker 5: He's a comedy is when he craused show.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, Kings of Comedy was two thousand and Oceans eleventh,
- 39:00Speaker 1: two thousand and one, Bernie Max Show two thousand one.
- 39:03Speaker 2: So Kings of Comedy, you can say pilots because.
- 39:06Speaker 8: They talked about that within the Kings of Comedy.
- 39:09Speaker 5: Remember they have in that moment where they.
- 39:11Speaker 8: Just on the court, they talked about that Hollywood man,
- 39:14Speaker 8: you're missing out on this.
- 39:15Speaker 5: It was like because everybody had a TV show, He's
- 39:18Speaker 5: on TV. He's on TV, and Bernie was the only
- 39:20Speaker 5: one that didn't have what did the show?
- 39:25Speaker 8: I'm not sure when the Hugles came on. I've never
- 39:28Speaker 8: seen the episode of the Hugelys.
- 39:30Speaker 6: Boy from the Sun and as a murderer he got
- 39:32Speaker 6: all kind of face.
- 39:33Speaker 5: I've read about that.
- 39:39Speaker 2: He was just ninety eight to two thousand and two
- 39:41Speaker 2: because they all had.
- 39:42Speaker 6: TV and they were already on TV, the only one.
- 39:45Speaker 1: And then I see why, I wonder what because Bernie
- 39:49Speaker 1: had that. That was at the time when the set
- 39:51Speaker 1: became your show. You had the set and they built
- 39:54Speaker 1: the show off of your set, Roseanne tim Allen, Bernie
- 39:58Speaker 1: set about them kids, and I have my sister's kids.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Is the They were like, yes, this is great. Click click,
- 40:09Speaker 1: So they ain't know, they ain't had no shoulter. They
- 40:10Speaker 1: saw it, and then when we got in the comedy,
- 40:12Speaker 1: they stopped doing that.
- 40:13Speaker 3: And then after that you seem to be your album.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Yeah, after that he was guess who he was a
- 40:24Speaker 2: leading man after.
- 40:25Speaker 5: That, mister three thousand transformers.
- 40:28Speaker 6: Oh he was getting transformed. But your head.
- 40:33Speaker 5: He did. Soul Man is underrated.
- 40:35Speaker 2: So it's hilarious. Man had a ponytail with no facial hair.
- 40:40Speaker 8: Man.
- 40:40Speaker 5: That movie is funny. What were you doing? Sam?
- 40:43Speaker 2: All right, let's get out of here, man.
- 40:44Speaker 1: I got to go myself to track meet Random question generator,
- 40:47Speaker 1: starting with mel Mitchell. If you had to walk away
- 40:49Speaker 1: from one technology in your life, what would it be.
- 40:53Speaker 6: M hmmm.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Mm hmm.
- 41:00Speaker 6: It's a hell of a question. What do I not
- 41:03Speaker 6: like doing. I don't know. I don't like driving.
- 41:12Speaker 2: There ain't no technology.
- 41:14Speaker 6: I mean, my car is a computer, when these new
- 41:18Speaker 6: cars is computer. I can't but why I gotta do it? Someone?
- 41:23Speaker 6: If someone else could drive it.
- 41:25Speaker 2: If you take out driving, that means you can't go nowhere.
- 41:27Speaker 6: Okay, Well damn, never mind. I don't know. Do you'll
- 41:32Speaker 6: have an answer for that?
- 41:33Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm trying my job answer, so I
- 41:37Speaker 2: don't know. I haven't answered. I said you can have it,
- 41:39Speaker 2: you just you got to walk.
- 41:40Speaker 6: Well, that's not fair.
- 41:43Speaker 3: I honestly don't know what technology I would do without
- 41:46Speaker 3: because it's my whole life. So past someone else going
- 41:53Speaker 3: then get a better idea.
- 41:54Speaker 4: We'll see if this qualifies. I get rid of which
- 41:57Speaker 4: I already have.
- 41:57Speaker 5: Cable. You don't like it, comp.
- 42:03Speaker 2: You did this on your own.
- 42:05Speaker 7: You also don't need cable anything, you know, That's what
- 42:07Speaker 7: I'm saying. Uh so you're saying something that we use.
- 42:11Speaker 5: Question.
- 42:11Speaker 1: I don't like that question that I'll get another question
- 42:14Speaker 1: because that's kind of tough. Do you say so your
- 42:16Speaker 1: iPhone iPad? You tell your iPad uses the same thing.
- 42:20Speaker 1: You ain't losing nothing?
- 42:21Speaker 4: Yeah, does it affect you.
- 42:23Speaker 1: No how want of random questions said, what's your opinion
- 42:27Speaker 1: on tipping?
- 42:28Speaker 2: We'll leave that one out. It's not I don't I
- 42:30Speaker 2: have forgot are.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Again the Sage crew is gonna they have a meeting
- 42:34Speaker 3: after this. We don't like this male bitch, so let's
- 42:36Speaker 3: just get it together and we're gonna put the shitty
- 42:38Speaker 3: moji for her.
- 42:39Speaker 6: Please. I paid the girl. Megan is fine.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Here's a good one. Do you have a nightmare travel story?
- 42:46Speaker 1: Oh?
- 42:47Speaker 6: I have one.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Okay, My nightmare travel story is me trying to get
- 42:50Speaker 3: to keep your distance. The devil knew what that what
- 42:52Speaker 3: doors that was gonna open for me? And they would
- 42:55Speaker 3: try to that devil. Now, first off, it was my fault.
- 42:58Speaker 3: I stopped the Chick fil A for breakfast and I
- 43:01Speaker 3: shouldn't have something. I thought I had time because I'm like,
- 43:04Speaker 3: I have pre check, ain't clear.
- 43:05Speaker 2: I'm fine, heartfelt Jackson there, But again, I.
- 43:09Speaker 6: Fly all the time, even previous to uh is that right?
- 43:12Speaker 2: Is that?
- 43:13Speaker 3: Prior to whatever? So I was like, I'll be fine,
- 43:15Speaker 3: I just gotta pull up, I'll part whatever whatever. But
- 43:19Speaker 3: Dick greg book my ticket? Who book my ticket? Didn't
- 43:22Speaker 3: put pre check on my ticket. So I get there,
- 43:24Speaker 3: I'm saentring to the pre check line. I had already
- 43:26Speaker 3: was pushed it with time well checking my bag. I
- 43:29Speaker 3: get to the line like boom, I'm pre checked, and
- 43:31Speaker 3: then he was like, no, you not, and I was like, fuck,
- 43:34Speaker 3: you mean I'm not pre check. I paid for pre checks,
- 43:36Speaker 3: not a new ticket, so just go back to the
- 43:37Speaker 3: ticket counter. But at this point my flight, I said twelve,
- 43:39Speaker 3: it's like eleven.
- 43:40Speaker 5: I'm like.
- 43:42Speaker 3: I was cutting it, That's what I'm saying, because I
- 43:44Speaker 3: stopped check for like for breakfast. I thought I had
- 43:45Speaker 3: time because I was like, I'll be fine. I was
- 43:47Speaker 3: not fine then, so I missed. I'm I was trying
- 43:52Speaker 3: to get my luggage. I tried to get the pre
- 43:53Speaker 3: check back on it. I was like, I don't have
- 43:54Speaker 3: this kind of time. So I'm like I had to
- 43:55Speaker 3: go through the peasant clear line, tuck my shoes off
- 43:59Speaker 3: the present regular clear, not pre check clear, just clear clear,
- 44:03Speaker 3: and Atlanta that ain't.
- 44:05Speaker 6: I'm flying out of Atlanta, so that.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Clear don't even matter.
- 44:10Speaker 3: You're gonna have pre check and digital ID. So it's
- 44:14Speaker 3: like it's clear that ain't ship you as well just
- 44:17Speaker 3: be in a regular line. So I'm like, I'm waiting
- 44:18Speaker 3: in line, which is I do not do with the airport,
- 44:21Speaker 3: have to take my shoes off. I'm trying to. I
- 44:23Speaker 3: had on burking stocks. I had this exact actually Jim
- 44:26Speaker 3: shirt Jim Sharks set the full set on and some
- 44:28Speaker 3: burking stocks. I was fighting for my life and I'm like,
- 44:32Speaker 3: you know how when you rush it and you just panicking, logic,
- 44:35Speaker 3: don't really be logic. And so I was like, Okay,
- 44:37Speaker 3: I'm in b gates and the train ain't here, so
- 44:40Speaker 3: I could probably run there faster than the train will
- 44:44Speaker 3: take me. That was incorrect, Hard says, I'm running in
- 44:48Speaker 3: my burking stocks. At this point, I'm asthmatic, so my
- 44:52Speaker 3: asthma gets triggered, which triggers my allergy. So now my
- 44:55Speaker 3: nose is running and my face is covered, it's not
- 44:58Speaker 3: under my mask.
- 44:59Speaker 6: I'm run it.
- 45:00Speaker 3: I get to my gate, the doors closed, and it's
- 45:02Speaker 3: a black lady like.
- 45:05Speaker 6: That and didn't make it and didn't make it, And
- 45:06Speaker 6: I was like, man, if I gotta get to lost interest.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Like this is the biggest opportunity, but let me.
- 45:10Speaker 6: She's like, man, you have to calm down. Crying literally
- 45:17Speaker 6: in the wild.
- 45:18Speaker 3: I was like, if I just really sell it like
- 45:19Speaker 3: a true white woman, maybe shouldn't let me on this plane.
- 45:22Speaker 6: She was like, ma'am, it's the planet now.
- 45:25Speaker 2: You could die right here.
- 45:26Speaker 6: I don't give a damn.
- 45:27Speaker 3: She was like, you have to calm down one and
- 45:29Speaker 3: then two, I'll put you on the two PM flight.
- 45:32Speaker 2: And I'm just like, okay, you fine.
- 45:33Speaker 3: So she put me on there, but I'm standing by.
- 45:35Speaker 3: So I get to the gate distraught. I'm defeated, like
- 45:38Speaker 3: it was so much going on around me, Like again,
- 45:40Speaker 3: my algies are triggered. Now I saw Brent Fiask come
- 45:42Speaker 3: off the plane. I couldn't even be excited. I love
- 45:44Speaker 3: Brent Fias. I'm just like, man, fuck Brint because I
- 45:47Speaker 3: missed my flight. I don't even care right now.
- 45:49Speaker 2: You was flying out the day before the day before.
- 45:52Speaker 3: But like, I'm still panicking because like, if I don't
- 45:55Speaker 3: make it to LA for this life changing ten minutes
- 45:58Speaker 3: of comedy, my life is over.
- 46:00Speaker 2: She said, all that the show tomorrow, right, But I.
- 46:04Speaker 6: Haven't got to the worst part.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Some sitting here, it's more so I'm like, mom, like
- 46:08Speaker 3: they put me in a two o'clock fight, but it's
- 46:10Speaker 3: stand by. What if I don't get on a fight.
- 46:11Speaker 3: She was like, well, baby, you have to buy that
- 46:12Speaker 3: flight straight out. And because I was doing my little
- 46:15Speaker 3: Instagram influencing videos, I have the money in my savings
- 46:18Speaker 3: and I live home so I don't have no bills.
- 46:19Speaker 3: So I had the money six hundred dollars WHOA for
- 46:23Speaker 3: a one way flight to LA that same day. At
- 46:25Speaker 3: this point, I'm getting paid less than that to do
- 46:28Speaker 3: the damn shit.
- 46:29Speaker 6: I'm in the hole now.
- 46:30Speaker 2: But I'm like, you know what, you're down a hundred. Now,
- 46:33Speaker 2: you're down down one hundred.
- 46:34Speaker 3: I'm not even getting paid that much to do to
- 46:36Speaker 3: damn show. But it's like, I'm like, no, what fuck it.
- 46:39Speaker 3: I'm getting to god damn La. So I just bought
- 46:40Speaker 3: the ticket straight out so I can have a seat.
- 46:42Speaker 3: So I'm on the plane. It's raining in Atlanta.
- 46:47Speaker 6: I'm just like, I just gotta get to LA. I
- 46:48Speaker 6: just gotta get to LA. It's raining.
- 46:50Speaker 3: So we're taxing until the rain stops so we can
- 46:52Speaker 3: take off. We taxi so long for the rain to stop.
- 46:55Speaker 3: Now we don't have the legal amount of gas to
- 46:58Speaker 3: take off.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Why they didn't just park the plane if you can't
- 47:02Speaker 1: go nowhere just to pull in.
- 47:05Speaker 3: And get gas. I ain't never seen the plane get
- 47:07Speaker 3: fucking gas. We have to go to the fucking plane
- 47:09Speaker 3: gas station.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I'm just like, what this the layst flane?
- 47:14Speaker 3: You went to the HIV room when don't have got
- 47:17Speaker 3: damn BP complain ship. The flight is delayed three hours
- 47:24Speaker 3: till five. We don't leave to a five pm. And
- 47:29Speaker 3: then I'm on my cycle. Because it's even worse. I'm
- 47:32Speaker 3: on my cycle on top of everything else.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Sneezy got something to come out every orbit, so your
- 47:37Speaker 1: body right now, I'm like, I'm.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Like, this is the worst day of my life. I
- 47:46Speaker 3: finally made it to the hotel. You know, like they're
- 47:48Speaker 3: parting backs when they finally leave an audition in their
- 47:50Speaker 3: hairs off flapped and they just like what.
- 47:52Speaker 6: That's how I made it to the hotel.
- 47:53Speaker 3: I said, I'm gonna stomp a hole in this fucking
- 47:56Speaker 3: stage tomorrow. I don't give a damn. I'm literally always
- 48:07Speaker 3: on my like every moment of my life, my period
- 48:10Speaker 3: has been on.
- 48:15Speaker 6: Period. It's just like my period is always on.
- 48:18Speaker 2: It literally is always.
- 48:20Speaker 6: I did stomp your stomp.
- 48:21Speaker 3: Your distance, Jesus distance, keep your distance on the next day,
- 48:25Speaker 3: I woke up and I tell your practice that said
- 48:27Speaker 3: from top to bottom.
- 48:28Speaker 6: I came in here. I was like, i'mna beat my
- 48:30Speaker 6: fucking face.
- 48:31Speaker 3: Then I sucked my wig up because I sweated out
- 48:32Speaker 3: trying to run through the airport, so it didn't lay
- 48:34Speaker 3: how it was supposed to lighten and keep your distance video.
- 48:37Speaker 3: I was very upset about it because like all my
- 48:38Speaker 3: hate n assholes on Twitter was like this be wigged.
- 48:41Speaker 3: I was like, you, you don't know what the funk
- 48:43Speaker 3: I've been through to get on the stage.
- 48:44Speaker 6: Bitch.
- 48:45Speaker 3: I was so fucking mad because my head has had
- 48:47Speaker 3: a field day with my wigs and day. I was
- 48:49Speaker 3: so fucking mad. I was so mad, but I never
- 48:59Speaker 3: saw bad.
- 49:00Speaker 8: Yeah, I snugger when you said this is like baths
- 49:04Speaker 8: and I was like.
- 49:06Speaker 2: It's just wild because Tony has seen so many.
- 49:08Speaker 5: Movies y'all been in that pool that it's a classic ship.
- 49:11Speaker 5: With me, I'm gonna give you no five heartbeats.
- 49:21Speaker 1: My worst travel story is nowhere near that. This just
- 49:26Speaker 1: really hurt me. One time flying in Boston, I fall
- 49:31Speaker 1: asleep before the plane takes off. Check my watch at
- 49:34Speaker 1: six am. Wake up nine thirty. Boy, were halfway home.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Look out the window. We are on the tar back
- 49:42Speaker 1: in Boston, and I hear the person say, hey, guys,
- 49:45Speaker 1: we're gonna get off the plane now we've reached the
- 49:47Speaker 1: limit where we can't keep you on anymore, and we'll
- 49:50Speaker 1: let you back on. And that was the last time
- 49:52Speaker 1: I fell asleep before a plane has taken off. The
- 49:55Speaker 1: only other thing bad travel wise when I found it
- 49:57Speaker 1: went to Egypt. The Egyptian government owned the airplanes, and
- 50:00Speaker 1: they the time you leave is just suggested.
- 50:05Speaker 4: We'll get to it.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Flight is eleven. It'll be a lot of like international
- 50:08Speaker 1: like like it's like eleven. Then like eleven, the plane
- 50:11Speaker 1: wasn't even there, and they're not even saying nothing. They're
- 50:14Speaker 1: just like, man, well we'll be getting plane. You'll get
- 50:17Speaker 1: in there, all right, Where are you finna go? It
- 50:20Speaker 1: was an Amsterdam same thing. Were in Amsterdam trying to
- 50:23Speaker 1: get to the show and the plane is not there,
- 50:25Speaker 1: and they're like, man, what so two thirty so what
- 50:29Speaker 1: we have scrambled to get in there and we get
- 50:31Speaker 1: to the gate, think we're gonna miss the plane.
- 50:33Speaker 2: The plane ain't even there. But now it wasn't on
- 50:35Speaker 2: my period or nothing. Man crying, how do you body
- 50:44Speaker 2: lose that much fluid man.
- 50:47Speaker 6: Out.
- 50:48Speaker 2: You should have ears blood.
- 50:51Speaker 7: You went over sees the perform for the troops recently August. Yeah,
- 51:00Speaker 7: in August, Bahaain, Abu Dhabi and uh oh yeah, Qatar.
- 51:06Speaker 7: We basically we left Baha Rerain flew to Frankfurt, Germany.
- 51:11Speaker 7: Now keep in mind I'm six to eight, so I
- 51:13Speaker 7: can't sleep on any plane. You know, maybe a cargo plane,
- 51:16Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 51:17Speaker 5: Uh.
- 51:18Speaker 7: It went from Baharain to Frankfurt, Germany, and then I
- 51:22Speaker 7: think we went to Denver and then finally back to Vegas.
- 51:28Speaker 7: But I was flying, traveling thirty six hours. It was
- 51:33Speaker 7: thirty six hours, the whole thing. No sleep, just up
- 51:38Speaker 7: for thirty six hours and having to deal I remember,
- 51:41Speaker 7: I think it was in uh Germany. Had to fly
- 51:45Speaker 7: like we were trying to get through all these people
- 51:47Speaker 7: and get to the next flight.
- 51:48Speaker 4: And it just it was the worst.
- 51:49Speaker 7: Thirty six hours just up and traveling, which is thirty
- 51:52Speaker 7: six hours of traveling and no sleep.
- 51:54Speaker 2: It was the worst. But that's even doze off on
- 51:58Speaker 2: a plane.
- 51:58Speaker 7: Now how where like my legs, my ever, you can't
- 52:03Speaker 7: do this.
- 52:05Speaker 8: You will talk within yourself like a pison.
- 52:08Speaker 5: Just be sleeping.
- 52:10Speaker 7: What will happen is all be like that and then
- 52:12Speaker 7: you jerk your neck and you're like, no, I'm just.
- 52:14Speaker 2: So you just be saying.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Tony had that joke about before social media, we just
- 52:17Speaker 1: taking flights to the face.
- 52:19Speaker 2: But your phone and stuff.
- 52:21Speaker 4: What did you say to the ground right now?
- 52:23Speaker 2: Yeah, like all of our feet are on ground. I
- 52:29Speaker 2: have on one swinging like yeah, that's funny. You got
- 52:34Speaker 2: like this the ground and.
- 52:42Speaker 4: You have that film.
- 52:43Speaker 7: Feel like you have a film over you for thirty
- 52:45Speaker 7: six hours travel.
- 52:46Speaker 2: You gotta take the hotel. I got to get that
- 52:49Speaker 2: up off. Yeah got CT. That's where I'm different when
- 52:55Speaker 2: you said you got yeah.
- 52:57Speaker 5: Uh uh Well, first of all, uh somebody asks that
- 53:02Speaker 5: I see tu long food. I have not.
- 53:05Speaker 2: So I love you against black movies.
- 53:10Speaker 5: That's a black movie. It was black.
- 53:15Speaker 7: Okay, he's black enough for the whole CA Tony does
- 53:19Speaker 7: not support transh okay.
- 53:26Speaker 8: So well, one time I was about to make my
- 53:29Speaker 8: stand up comedy debut on television.
- 53:31Speaker 5: It was on Gabriel Glacy.
- 53:32Speaker 8: This is standard Revolution, first time on TV doing stand up.
- 53:36Speaker 8: I get to the airport, y'all know. If y'all don't know,
- 53:39Speaker 8: I'm always late.
- 53:40Speaker 5: I'm late McGee, I'm late mcgirts.
- 53:43Speaker 8: No, it wasn't the buses this time. This was I
- 53:45Speaker 8: don't remember how I got to the airport. I don't
- 53:47Speaker 8: even think I knew about Flyway at that time. And
- 53:49Speaker 8: so I get to the airport, they like this, it's
- 53:53Speaker 8: too late. I thought I had enough time and.
- 53:59Speaker 5: This is my TV date.
- 54:01Speaker 2: They're like cool.
- 54:03Speaker 8: I ended up having to buy a ticket then and there.
- 54:04Speaker 8: I had a good twelve hundred dollars in my checking account.
- 54:07Speaker 8: But forget that story.
- 54:08Speaker 5: I made it though eventually. But here's the truth. Trash
- 54:13Speaker 5: travel trip.
- 54:14Speaker 8: So I do this stand up comedy competition where the
- 54:17Speaker 8: prize is the winners of this we get to go
- 54:20Speaker 8: to New York and watch the film SNL and we
- 54:23Speaker 8: get to have dinner with the cast and crew after
- 54:25Speaker 8: the show raps. So whoever wins the competition, that's where
- 54:29Speaker 8: you're going, Like, all right, So I do the competition
- 54:31Speaker 8: at the J Spot in Inglewood. I win, and then
- 54:35Speaker 8: so you know, they book a trip to New York
- 54:38Speaker 8: to see SNL. I'm like, man, yeah, man, I'm excited.
- 54:41Speaker 8: I'm like, oh man, I've never seen it.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Get taped.
- 54:43Speaker 5: So I get out there.
- 54:44Speaker 8: They fly us out there we land and our hotel
- 54:49Speaker 8: is like in Jersey or some shit. I'm not familiar
- 54:52Speaker 8: with New York. So I'm like, I didn't know where
- 54:54Speaker 8: they taped SNL at that time. I was just like,
- 54:56Speaker 8: all right, so we out there. I'm sure they gonna
- 54:59Speaker 8: get us to the venue on time. So we at
- 55:02Speaker 8: the hotel far and the lady in charge of this
- 55:08Speaker 8: whole contest is like, so, y'all, y'all not gonna have
- 55:15Speaker 8: enough time for us to get you a ride out
- 55:19Speaker 8: here and back. So y'all gonna have to get to
- 55:23Speaker 8: Rockefeller Center from there. And I'm just like, yo, I
- 55:26Speaker 8: don't know where the fuck I'm at. I didn't come
- 55:29Speaker 8: like that, but I don't know why. Man, Right now,
- 55:31Speaker 8: I gotta get on the train. Which train, how? When?
- 55:37Speaker 2: Where?
- 55:40Speaker 8: And so it was just like wait what So yeah,
- 55:42Speaker 8: just get on the train. You can get on this train.
- 55:44Speaker 8: I'm just like, yo.
- 55:45Speaker 5: Where it was me.
- 55:46Speaker 8: And ball Head Phillips from Chicago. So we was both like,
- 55:49Speaker 8: what the hell are we doing? Man, you've been out
- 55:51Speaker 8: here before, na, you know. So so we get on
- 55:53Speaker 8: the train. The train takes forever in a day. By
- 55:57Speaker 8: the time we get to the to the place.
- 56:00Speaker 5: Mind you.
- 56:00Speaker 8: We lost we on the L train. Once we get
- 56:02Speaker 8: to the city, we're like, yo, how we get here?
- 56:05Speaker 8: And it's like, if you ain't familiar with New York, man,
- 56:07Speaker 8: it was just a grit. It looked like a micro
- 56:10Speaker 8: chip circuit. We're just all kind of all time, like
- 56:14Speaker 8: what am I looking at? I'm looking at the inside
- 56:16Speaker 8: of the matrix.
- 56:17Speaker 5: It's just New York.
- 56:19Speaker 2: People are not helping.
- 56:23Speaker 8: You in Jersey, right, I'm not all in Jersey, Man,
- 56:26Speaker 8: get the Rockefellas in Rock and Fellas Center while you
- 56:28Speaker 8: going over there. So I'm just like, man, come on, man,
- 56:31Speaker 8: we're trying to get there. So by the time we
- 56:35Speaker 8: get to Rock and Feller Center, they not letting no
- 56:37Speaker 8: more people in because they they taping live. So we
- 56:40Speaker 8: get there, we missed the whole goddamn taping of the show.
- 56:44Speaker 5: I'm just like the building, man, So let back of
- 56:48Speaker 5: the train.
- 56:49Speaker 8: So no, we we still we still got to go
- 56:52Speaker 8: to where they hung out and ate after. So I'm
- 56:54Speaker 8: just looking at them after the show all keenan oh,
- 56:59Speaker 8: Jason Dakers and his wife.
- 57:01Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying.
- 57:01Speaker 2: So wait, Keeny was still on this.
- 57:08Speaker 8: The seventies, so but he definitely was on there when
- 57:12Speaker 8: I did this. This was like twenty eleven, twelve thirteen,
- 57:16Speaker 8: so that's not all on this trip. Another part of
- 57:21Speaker 8: the winnings of this contest was you get to do
- 57:24Speaker 8: a set on Hannibal Burris's show at the Knitting Factory
- 57:27Speaker 8: in Brooklyn. So I'm like, all right, well this was
- 57:31Speaker 8: a disaster, but you know, I get to.
- 57:33Speaker 5: Thinking about the Knitting Factory tomorrow. So I hit her up.
- 57:38Speaker 8: I was like, hey, what's the details for the Knitting
- 57:40Speaker 8: Factory show? So and I was just like, no, she
- 57:47Speaker 8: didn't hit me back yet. So I was just like,
- 57:49Speaker 8: I hit Hannibal up. Luckily I had his information already.
- 57:52Speaker 8: I already knew him. So I was like, hey, man,
- 57:56Speaker 8: what time is the show? The man he was like,
- 57:58Speaker 8: you you on it?
- 58:00Speaker 5: Oh God.
- 58:02Speaker 8: I was like, uh yeah, we won this contest. They
- 58:06Speaker 8: say part of the prize was me, you know, doing
- 58:09Speaker 8: a set on your show. He was like, this is
- 58:11Speaker 8: news to me. I was like, Luckily he was like yeah, yeah,
- 58:16Speaker 8: I got some time for you. But yeah, I ain't
- 58:18Speaker 8: know nothing about this.
- 58:19Speaker 2: I was did you ever get set it?
- 58:22Speaker 5: The livid color?
- 58:25Speaker 2: I was color?
- 58:27Speaker 8: Then I scrambled to get to the venue. I don't
- 58:30Speaker 8: know how I ended up making it. Day I was
- 58:31Speaker 8: back in the micro Chip Matrix of from New Jersey
- 58:35Speaker 8: to the Brooklyn Place, and then the set was cool.
- 58:39Speaker 8: It was cool, Like I didn't love it, but it
- 58:41Speaker 8: was a win. I was just like and then they
- 58:43Speaker 8: was like, hey, because.
- 58:45Speaker 5: They knew I was pissed. Oh man, hey.
- 58:47Speaker 8: Could you not like, uh not bashed the competition in
- 58:52Speaker 8: the in the show, I ain't gonna make no promises.
- 58:56Speaker 2: To just behind.
- 58:58Speaker 5: I didn't bash them, but man, that ship was Raggedy's head.
- 59:02Speaker 1: One of my worst travel stories ain't really have nothing
- 59:04Speaker 1: to do with the travel, but on that point.
- 59:06Speaker 2: I flew to La. Some church. It was a church.
- 59:13Speaker 2: It's like a teen conference. They was booking us.
- 59:16Speaker 1: We was performing playmakers or cleaning her I don't remember.
- 59:20Speaker 1: I think it was cleaning ear or we used to
- 59:21Speaker 1: perform in character as old men. It was like, uh,
- 59:26Speaker 1: that was the funny part of the story. So they like,
- 59:30Speaker 1: if you get to La, we'll put you up. We
- 59:32Speaker 1: had to fly ourselves out here from Washington. It was
- 59:34Speaker 1: a lot of money for us, rent a car, all
- 59:36Speaker 1: that stuff.
- 59:37Speaker 8: Uh.
- 59:38Speaker 1: Churches in a hotel so they had no dressing room
- 59:40Speaker 1: for us. We had to put our old men clothes on,
- 59:42Speaker 1: our wig and stuff. So we're supposed to go like
- 59:45Speaker 1: praise and worshiping then, y'all. So we getting dressed. Where
- 59:47Speaker 1: they got the dishes and plates and stuff. The workers
- 59:50Speaker 1: are still back here. You know, they like, excuse me,
- 59:52Speaker 1: excuse me, they're getting four plates because they got other
- 59:54Speaker 1: stuff other. You know, it's in like the corridors, so
- 59:57Speaker 1: excuse me. Get these cufs clean, clean, clean, So we
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: get dressed for waiting like praise the WORSHP.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: Y'all gonna be next.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: We're all right cool sev fifteen, y'all gonna beyond come
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: back seventfteen. Hey man, the Holy ghost kind of going crazy,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: bro y'all.

- 1:00:23Speaker 1: soon as offering over, we're gonna be on all right, y'all. Okay,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: offering come they playing the offering song. Holy ghosts come
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: right back do more time, right, they praised, breaking shouted
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: thirty forty five minutes. It's nine o'clock. Now people start
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: leaving pastors like okay. Then they come out, okay, man,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: we're gonna get y'all right before the pastor, pastor coming.

- 1:01:15Speaker 1: They're laying on the ground, nodding, repenting, and they getting up,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: wiping the tears, going back to their room so that
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: tail in. They're like, hey, man, you know God moved,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: spirit moving, We spirit moving. We y'all saw it. Y'all saw.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: We're just so sorry we won't be able to get it.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: It's ten thirty by the time we're back there, we're
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: just sitting down. We hate the Holy Ghost. At best,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: you know, you got to follow the Holy Ghost, so
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: at best you get to follow the Holy goes. At worst,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: you don't get to go so.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Excited get paid. We never were getting paid. It was exposure.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: We knew that up front.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: We paid our money to getting bumped, and we got
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: paid our money to sit in the kitchen, got bumped
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: by the Holy Ghost for three hours and never returned.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Then we blew up the next year and they were like,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: y'all want to come back. We're we'll get y'all down here.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: We still ain't got no money. He's gonna stick us
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: in the kitchen to get for the Holy Ghost. Because
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: at least you get paid. It don't matter, right, you
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: got the deposit.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: You ain't gonna go up. We just lost the money
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: on that show.
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: Never profess travel to get to this show? Was it local?
- 1:02:33Speaker 8: It was La from Seattle, So you came from Seattle
- 1:02:36Speaker 8: to LA to do the show.
- 1:02:38Speaker 5: That you never did.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Nobody knew we were there. We were like, we're gonna
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: stand in this room.
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: We're gonna come out.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: They'll be like, who these old man?
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: This is funny because we was killing the time and
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: only people saw was the workers at the whole came
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: Why y'all, why.
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: Why was it worth the exposure? Was Kirk Franklin there?
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: No?
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: I mean, we just we just wasn't in Washington. Anything
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: down to count for.
