- 0:18Speaker 1: It's I Do Part two and it's your celebrity mentors
- 0:21Speaker 1: Jenniferfessler and Kelly ben Simone. And today is exciting because
- 0:25Speaker 1: we are bringing in another woman from the housewife universe.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You love her on Real Housewives of Miami. It's Larsa Pippin.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And we're also going to be taking listener questions. We
- 0:36Speaker 1: got a lot of unbelievable questions from you guys, so
- 0:39Speaker 1: here we go. Hey, Kellana both saying we've both met you.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I met you very briefly at Bravocan, but it feels
- 0:46Speaker 1: like you and I have been friends for many years
- 0:48Speaker 1: because I have been following you for a long time.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Girl.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Oh my god, I feel like we have so much
- 0:55Speaker 3: in common. Don't you feel like all the housewives have
- 0:57Speaker 3: so much in common?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Well, I was looking. I was just doing some background
- 1:02Speaker 2: on you, and we're both from Illinois. You're from Chicago,
- 1:04Speaker 2: I'm from Chicago. You went to University of Illinois political science.
- 1:08Speaker 2: My parents went to University of Illinois. So we have
- 1:10Speaker 2: like so much. I always saw everyone I was like
- 1:14Speaker 2: the housewives they never get the love they deserve because,
- 1:17Speaker 2: like we all come from somewhere doing something incredible.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I kind of went to the same school. So I
- 1:22Speaker 3: wonder if our dads were friends.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I'm sure they were.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Wow, my dad is.
- 1:26Speaker 3: An engineer by trade, so he went there to become
- 1:30Speaker 3: an engineer.
- 1:31Speaker 1: We have a lot of other stuff in common, because
- 1:33Speaker 1: obviously we are all three of us on this particular podcast,
- 1:37Speaker 1: which is about finding love again. So right after divorce
- 1:43Speaker 1: after death. Yeah, yeah, and I guess.
- 1:47Speaker 2: And the journey, the journey of that.
- 1:51Speaker 3: When I got divorce, I thought it was going to
- 1:53Speaker 3: be so easy to find someone. Did you guys think
- 1:55Speaker 3: that at some point?
- 1:56Speaker 1: I wasn't ever worse? Actually, I was separated for like
- 1:59Speaker 1: a year and a half, so it's sort of our
- 2:01Speaker 1: part two. I mean, we had we separated and then
- 2:03Speaker 1: we both had other significant others, and then we ended
- 2:06Speaker 1: up getting back together. But I wasn't out there, I
- 2:10Speaker 1: guess a year and a half. But so I didn't
- 2:12Speaker 1: I didn't really get there yet. What about you, kel, Well, I.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Was thirty seven and I and now it's like everyone's like,
- 2:18Speaker 2: that's so young. But I was married so young that
- 2:20Speaker 2: I felt like I was so old and out of
- 2:23Speaker 2: touch and didn't know how to Like, I didn't know
- 2:26Speaker 2: what I was doing and I felt very uncomfortable dating,
- 2:30Speaker 2: like really uncomfortable. I felt like everyone was like like
- 2:33Speaker 2: a vulture.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I feel like all my single friends, I have so
- 2:36Speaker 3: many beautiful single friends that go on random dates and
- 2:41Speaker 3: don't like anyone. Do you guys ever find like, do
- 2:43Speaker 3: you guys hear stories like that? Your friends like they're established,
- 2:46Speaker 3: they're beautiful, but then they'll do a few dates with
- 2:49Speaker 3: guys like random guys and then nothing comes of it.
- 2:53Speaker 2: I feel like it's both. I feel like the way
- 2:54Speaker 2: there's so many of these beautiful women from all these
- 2:56Speaker 2: different ages who are looking for, you know, just as
- 3:00Speaker 2: a companion, and the men at the same time are
- 3:02Speaker 2: like I don't have a connection with them. All they
- 3:05Speaker 2: want is this, All they want is that, And I'm like,
- 3:07Speaker 2: wait a minute, all these people are available.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I always feel like it's sometimes there's like the approach
- 3:12Speaker 1: the approaches off, so like I do tell my single
- 3:16Speaker 1: friends it's not like if if you get set up
- 3:18Speaker 1: or if you meet someone on whatever app, like you're
- 3:21Speaker 1: going into assume it's not going to be a love connection.
- 3:23Speaker 1: It's probably ninety percent not. So like take that pressure
- 3:27Speaker 1: off and if you're going to go meet someone, make
- 3:29Speaker 1: it for coffee, don't make it for dinner. And if
- 3:30Speaker 1: you're going to go meet someone, think you're just meeting
- 3:32Speaker 1: someone who is hopefully going to be a friend. You're
- 3:35Speaker 1: not going into it thinking my life is about to change.
- 3:37Speaker 1: You're going into a thinking it's almost a networking opportunity.
- 3:40Speaker 1: It's not there for you. If it's not there for him,
- 3:42Speaker 1: maybe he knows someone, maybe you know someone. But like,
- 3:45Speaker 1: it's I see a lot of my friends. They put
- 3:47Speaker 1: themselves out there and they're like, oh no, I'm not
- 3:49Speaker 1: gonna do it anymore. It's all right. I hate it.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It's all wrong. I hate whatever hinge or whatever the
- 3:54Speaker 1: app is. It's gross. The guys are all gross. But
- 3:58Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like it's it's a numbers game.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And so even if you know, you go into it
- 4:04Speaker 1: and it didn't work, whose wad to.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Share our Excel spreadsheet and be like like, here's our
- 4:08Speaker 2: Google docs, this is what we did, this is who
- 4:10Speaker 2: we went out with, this is yeah right, So what
- 4:13Speaker 2: have you learned about yourself going through divorce?
- 4:16Speaker 3: You know, I feel like my relationship with my ex
- 4:19Speaker 3: was not that bad. That's what I realized.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'm like, wow, it's interesting.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a really nice guy. I feel like I
- 4:26Speaker 3: picked a really good guy to have kids with. My
- 4:28Speaker 3: kids are gorgeous, they're like amazing, the rock stars. I'm
- 4:31Speaker 3: really happy that I chose him to have kids with.
- 4:35Speaker 3: But when you really, I really thought it'd be much
- 4:38Speaker 3: easier to meet someone that I would like after my
- 4:40Speaker 3: first marriage, just because I thought, like I think when
- 4:42Speaker 3: you're married, people tend to want you more. Relationships, girlfriends, guys,
- 4:48Speaker 3: they want you so much more because they can't have you.
- 4:51Speaker 2: That was one of the one of the words advice
- 4:53Speaker 2: that my single guy gave me. He's like, if you're
- 4:55Speaker 2: in a relationship, you'll meet new people. And I'm like, well,
- 4:59Speaker 2: if I have a I could never be like looking around.
- 5:02Speaker 3: No, you guys, it is. It's literally like, first of all,
- 5:05Speaker 3: like the questions that we're going to go through today, right,
- 5:07Speaker 3: So basically like the first one, why are men toxic?
- 5:10Speaker 3: They love you one minute and are dropping you the next.
- 5:13Speaker 3: I think men like things that shine, Men want a trophy,
- 5:17Speaker 3: Men want something that they cannot get and once they
- 5:21Speaker 3: get you.
- 5:23Speaker 2: The lesson have you guys?
- 5:25Speaker 1: Do you guys ever heard of this book called The Rules?
- 5:27Speaker 1: It's been around for a longis you have, Hew, Laura,
- 5:30Speaker 1: have you ever heard of it? No, it was written
- 5:32Speaker 1: I don't know twenty something years ago, and it was
- 5:36Speaker 1: and the women that wrote it, actually I was, I
- 5:38Speaker 1: am friends with and I worked for them for a
- 5:40Speaker 1: little while. But it's all about how men and women
- 5:42Speaker 1: are different and men need the chase period full stop.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Whether or not you like that or you think it's
- 5:48Speaker 1: you know, if you think that's morally over like, it's
- 5:51Speaker 1: just sort of what it is. And I actually do
- 5:53Speaker 1: also believe that. I feel like, you know, women that
- 5:58Speaker 1: are unavailable just married right, or just busy or nice
- 6:02Speaker 1: but not crazed after the first date. And I always
- 6:06Speaker 1: feel like that's usually when men exert more effort. They
- 6:12Speaker 1: want what they can't have, what you guys are saying.
- 6:14Speaker 1: But even with my own marriage, like Jeff was after
- 6:18Speaker 1: me for a long time and I was like, I
- 6:20Speaker 1: don't think so. You are way too short and you
- 6:24Speaker 1: are wait like there, you know whatever.
- 6:26Speaker 3: You're gonna be in the same situation you were years ago.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I know, right exactly he's gonna be like, yes, exactly.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Right, a good place. Just focus on all the good
- 6:34Speaker 3: things that you have going on, how great he is,
- 6:36Speaker 3: how funny is how smart is.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Oh honey, believe me when I tell you I wouldn't
- 6:40Speaker 1: Jeff Fessler couldn't lose me if he tried. Okay, that's
- 6:45Speaker 1: just the truth. I mean he's my everything, but he's
- 6:48Speaker 1: still short. I mean he knows it. I know it.
- 6:51Speaker 1: But at the beginning, so he was chasing me, I
- 6:52Speaker 1: didn't think it was there was a spark and then
- 6:54Speaker 1: there was. But I think it helped in terms of
- 6:57Speaker 1: like him wanting what he thought he couldn't have. Right.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Yeah, of course guys always guys want to feel good.
- 7:04Speaker 3: And you know how guys judge each other is by
- 7:06Speaker 3: the girl that you are with. That's how they judge you.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Like if you were with a gorgeous, smart, independent woman,
- 7:12Speaker 3: they're like, he must have it going on. That's how
- 7:15Speaker 3: guys judge each other based on who you're with.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, interesting, No, I think that's probably true.
- 7:21Speaker 2: So what about from Katie where she says that why
- 7:24Speaker 2: do relationships rarely work out? The woman makes more than
- 7:28Speaker 2: the man. Am I doomed to be alone forever because
- 7:31Speaker 2: I don't need a man financially?
- 7:34Speaker 1: No, I don't think that that's a thing. That's not true.
- 7:38Speaker 1: It's a thing for some people, but I think that
- 7:40Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like it's more of what
- 7:42Speaker 1: we're talking about, like if if the woman is if
- 7:45Speaker 1: the woman is a little bit hard to get but
- 7:47Speaker 1: also open and loving, and the man is so attracted
- 7:51Speaker 1: to her, I don't feel like that would be necessarily men.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Are intimidated by women who make money, of.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Course they are, But I also feel like it depends
- 8:00Speaker 3: how the man makes you feel, right, because if you're
- 8:02Speaker 3: super independent and you've got all these things, what's going
- 8:06Speaker 3: to make you feel good? Someone that comes in to
- 8:08Speaker 3: make you feel you know what I mean, Like a
- 8:09Speaker 3: guy that's there for you and your friend and your companion,
- 8:12Speaker 3: and someone that's into the same things you're intosa.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Do you feel that being on Housewives living in Miami?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Do you feel like it's more difficult because a lot
- 8:20Speaker 2: of these guys are like, you're so well known, you're
- 8:23Speaker 2: so connected in all these different universes, Like I could
- 8:27Speaker 2: never be the man that you want me to be.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Do you feel like that happens to you?
- 8:32Speaker 1: You know what?
- 8:33Speaker 3: I think it's harder for guys to want to be
- 8:35Speaker 3: with an MBA player or an athlete's ex wife. More
- 8:38Speaker 3: so than a housewife's ex wife. Do you know what
- 8:40Speaker 3: I'm saying. I feel like when you're an athlete, you're
- 8:43Speaker 3: used to certain things. We have certain things that like
- 8:47Speaker 3: it's hard for a lot of guys to come in
- 8:48Speaker 3: and just be able and be comfortable in another you
- 8:52Speaker 3: know what I mean? Another size? Shoot, it's not that.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Yeah, expand on that a little bit, like, have guys
- 8:58Speaker 1: not wanted to date you because Scottie like they felt intimidated?
- 9:02Speaker 3: No, I don't think that. I think that. I think
- 9:05Speaker 3: it's like hard for someone to come in and to
- 9:08Speaker 3: take that person is so my ex is so big
- 9:11Speaker 3: and my lifestyle was so big that I think I'm
- 9:13Speaker 3: sure a lot of guys are like I remember when
- 9:15Speaker 3: I was first divorced, there were other basketball players and
- 9:18Speaker 3: other athletes that were trying to talk to me, and
- 9:20Speaker 3: they were like, you would never talk to me because
- 9:22Speaker 3: I don't have as much money as your ex, or
- 9:24Speaker 3: you're used to private planes, or you're used to this,
- 9:27Speaker 3: And so I'm sure it's in the back. You have
- 9:29Speaker 3: to be a confident man to come in and play
- 9:32Speaker 3: house with someone that was married to a successful person before.
- 9:36Speaker 3: You You know, if you're not, if you're not comfortable
- 9:39Speaker 3: in who you are and confident, then it would never work.
- 9:43Speaker 2: But I think also like you're a very first of all,
- 9:46Speaker 2: you're super smart, you're a Midwestern, so you have strong values,
- 9:49Speaker 2: and you're just a very kind human and so I
- 9:52Speaker 2: think that that's also intimidating. They're probably expecting you to
- 9:55Speaker 2: be like, let's go to Louis Vuitton on the first date,
- 9:58Speaker 2: and you're not. You're like saying these really thoughtful things,
- 10:01Speaker 2: which I'm sure they're like, wait a minute.
- 10:03Speaker 1: What.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Really interesting?
- 10:05Speaker 3: I feel like the girls that give guys Christmas lists
- 10:08Speaker 3: are the girls that don't end up with a successful guy.
- 10:10Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 10:11Speaker 3: I'm saying, Like some of the girls here in Miami,
- 10:13Speaker 3: like when they start dating a guy, they're like off
- 10:15Speaker 3: the back. And that's probably why relationships are so transactual
- 10:19Speaker 3: these days, because I have single friends now that meet
- 10:21Speaker 3: a guy and they're like, you have to pay my
- 10:24Speaker 3: mortgage or my rent.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Get the hell out of here.
- 10:27Speaker 3: That's the mentality in Miami, like every girl, you're gonna
- 10:30Speaker 3: you have to be taken care of.
- 10:32Speaker 1: That is not the mentality as far as I know.
- 10:34Speaker 1: On the East Coast, women are more like honey, I
- 10:37Speaker 1: don't need you, Okay, I could pay my own effing mortgage.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Well it was interesting because like when I got divorced,
- 10:43Speaker 2: I you know, I was like, okay, I'm getting divorced
- 10:46Speaker 2: my ex husband you know, who was living in la
- 10:49Speaker 2: and Paris at the time, and I, you know, switch
- 10:52Speaker 2: gears immediately and went back to work and really like
- 10:56Speaker 2: full on to make sure that my girls had absolutely everything.
- 10:59Speaker 2: And a lot of guys were very intimidated the fact
- 11:02Speaker 2: that I was not like a victim to my circumstance.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Like I'm like, I'm like, I'm really sorry that I
- 11:09Speaker 2: can't be a victim, but I have children to educate,
- 11:11Speaker 2: and oh that's that's so thank you. But it was
- 11:14Speaker 2: also like it made me feel so guarded because I
- 11:20Speaker 2: just didn't trust anyone. I just thought that they were
- 11:22Speaker 2: like either trying to make me feel bad about the
- 11:25Speaker 2: responsibilities that I had, or they were trying to make
- 11:29Speaker 2: me insecure that I was able to actually do things
- 11:34Speaker 2: that I could do. And you know, Housewives is a
- 11:36Speaker 2: big part of that. I mean, if I hadn't done
- 11:37Speaker 2: on Housewives, I don't know really what I mean. That
- 11:41Speaker 2: added a massive new revenue stream for me. An opportunity
- 11:44Speaker 2: that I don't even know like what I would have
- 11:45Speaker 2: done at the time.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Honestly, Yeah, I don't. I feel like a younger woman, right,
- 11:50Speaker 1: not a woman that we do where I do Part two,
- 11:53Speaker 1: Part one. I can almost see even my younger self
- 11:57Speaker 1: sort of thinking that, like, are you going to take
- 11:59Speaker 1: care of me?
- 12:00Speaker 2: Right?
- 12:00Speaker 1: Like I'm I'm twenty nine years old and I'm looking
- 12:03Speaker 1: for a man who obviously is wonderful and kind and
- 12:07Speaker 1: funny and all of that, but also ambitious. My grandmother
- 12:11Speaker 1: always said, it doesn't have to be rich, he has
- 12:12Speaker 1: to be ambitious that matter. But like this, you know,
- 12:15Speaker 1: I feel like at this age, I would not be
- 12:18Speaker 1: trying to have a man pay my mortgage right off
- 12:21Speaker 1: the bat. As a matter of fact, I would find
- 12:22Speaker 1: that offensive. Like I'm surprised that in Miami, what.
- 12:25Speaker 2: About men asking has to pay their mortgage.
- 12:28Speaker 3: I feel like it depends on the relationship. You know,
- 12:30Speaker 3: if you meet a guy that's successful and you know
- 12:34Speaker 3: he wants to take care of you, why not. It
- 12:35Speaker 3: depends what you're into, you know. I feel like when
- 12:37Speaker 3: I was before my ex husband, the things I needed
- 12:39Speaker 3: I don't need any more, like you said, Julia, Like
- 12:42Speaker 3: I feel like I'm you know what I mean, I'm
- 12:44Speaker 3: just I'm like, good way I am? Do you know?
- 12:48Speaker 1: You mean? Why your power? Also, if he's paying your
- 12:50Speaker 1: mortgage right off the bat, it just feels like the
- 12:52Speaker 1: power dynamic is sucked from the beginning.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Then you're just like on your back foot all the time.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Yeah, how do you get to know someone when you
- 12:59Speaker 1: you you already need him?
- 13:01Speaker 3: No, I totally understand what you're saying, but I feel like,
- 13:04Speaker 3: sometimes I don't know, it kind of feels good to
- 13:06Speaker 3: have a guy take care of you. I love a
- 13:08Speaker 3: guy to take care of my.
- 13:09Speaker 1: God. I don't disagree with that, but.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I also said about I thought that was a really astute, like,
- 13:15Speaker 2: don't look for someone that has so much money, look
- 13:18Speaker 2: for someone who's ambitious. Like that is such Tell my
- 13:21Speaker 2: kids that, because that is the truth. You want someone
- 13:24Speaker 2: that like is a self starter, wants to you know.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Be a part of something like that is just so organic, right, Yeah, Yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 1: it's true. I'm telling you. Nana Bucky pushed that into
- 13:36Speaker 1: me from a very young age. And my sister and
- 13:38Speaker 1: she also said to us, I say it to my
- 13:40Speaker 1: kids all the time, specifically my daughter, but she's like
- 13:43Speaker 1: you are special. I didn't really get that from my
- 13:47Speaker 1: parents as much. You are special, you have everything you have,
- 13:51Speaker 1: you come from a nice family, and you are smart.
- 13:54Speaker 1: And I try to pump my daughter specifically up like
- 13:57Speaker 1: I don't want her to feel like she's so oh.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I want her to feel worthy of anybody and everybody
- 14:04Speaker 1: right and not feel like somebody has it over her
- 14:08Speaker 1: in any way I mean money or looks or you know.
- 14:13Speaker 1: At least I try. But my Nanda probably did better
- 14:15Speaker 1: than I'm doing. But anyway, Dana Asks had a falling
- 14:29Speaker 1: out with my maid of honor after my divorce. She
- 14:31Speaker 1: decided to remain friends with my ex. Do you think
- 14:35Speaker 1: the ending of a toxic relationship hurts more or less
- 14:38Speaker 1: than when a romantic relationship ends? Also, what do you
- 14:42Speaker 1: think about men that have a lot of female friends.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I'm going to say I feel like it's harder when
- 14:47Speaker 3: you lose a girlfriend. What do you guys think, really, LARSA, Yeah,
- 14:52Speaker 3: I feel like because since I'm single, I'm like, for me,
- 14:55Speaker 3: I feel like relationships with guys are not like permanent,
- 14:59Speaker 3: but I feel like a friendship with a girlfriend that
- 15:01Speaker 3: knows every single thing about you that you're maid of
- 15:04Speaker 3: honor like that that would be way harder for me
- 15:07Speaker 3: than you know what I mean, like my ex.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Like it's such an emotional attachment, which.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Is your best friend. Doesn't your best friend know every
- 15:16Speaker 3: single thing about you?
- 15:18Speaker 2: Everything, all your good bad, ugly? I mean, I totally agree.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I think losing a best friend is I mean, I've
- 15:26Speaker 2: lost a couple of friends and I'm just like, what
- 15:29Speaker 2: is going on? Like I feel it makes me feel
- 15:32Speaker 2: very like unsettled. Where a guy, it's like, yes, you
- 15:34Speaker 2: feel bad, there's love lost.
- 15:36Speaker 1: You have, well you to be a certain amount of
- 15:38Speaker 1: secure for that, which I mean, I'm thinking about myself
- 15:41Speaker 1: when I was single. You know, I a guy I
- 15:45Speaker 1: would have dumped at the time when I was I'm
- 15:47Speaker 1: talking about when I was a kid, you know, a kid,
- 15:49Speaker 1: I would have dumped any girlfriend for a guy. It
- 15:53Speaker 1: was just I was looking for, you know, for a husband.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I mean, you know, it's just what it was, and
- 16:00Speaker 1: that was so important now I guess thinking about it. Listen,
- 16:03Speaker 1: I my husband. I really I really don't want to
- 16:06Speaker 1: lose him. But I feel like you're probably right, Like now,
- 16:11Speaker 1: my friendships are so crucial. I mean they are, you know,
- 16:15Speaker 1: like you don't you need.
- 16:16Speaker 3: I need my girlfriends like I rely on them. I
- 16:19Speaker 3: need them, I love them, I nurture that relationship. I
- 16:21Speaker 3: feel like if it's just a boyfriend, then it's like
- 16:25Speaker 3: and normally when a relationship ends, it's because of the woman.
- 16:28Speaker 3: So if I'm ready to get divorced, like you know
- 16:31Speaker 3: what I mean, it's like I would be way more
- 16:33Speaker 3: heartbroken if I lost my girlfriend and she still wants
- 16:37Speaker 3: to have a relationship with my ex, Like that would
- 16:39Speaker 3: be like hard.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I would be remiss not at least bring up what
- 16:44Speaker 1: I've been watching you go through this past season, so
- 16:48Speaker 1: very much like what we're discussing, you know, And you
- 16:50Speaker 1: know what makes.
- 16:51Speaker 3: It worse when she never had a relationship with him.
- 16:54Speaker 3: They never hung out without me, They never they were
- 16:57Speaker 3: not friends ever, you know, I mean they were together
- 17:01Speaker 3: every time we were together, So it wasn't like they
- 17:03Speaker 3: hung out. We did, you know, trips together with him
- 17:06Speaker 3: and her boyfriend who was never that relationship. They probably
- 17:09Speaker 3: had dinner like we probably as a couple had dinner
- 17:12Speaker 3: with them maybe five times, four times, five times crazy Okay.
- 17:17Speaker 3: For me my personal experience, I think it is a
- 17:21Speaker 3: red flag if a guy has too many girlfriends. I
- 17:24Speaker 3: just I'd rather him be a boys boy and hang
- 17:27Speaker 3: out with his friends more so. But if his girlfriends
- 17:30Speaker 3: are always calling him, I don't know.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I just feel like that. I don't know if that
- 17:33Speaker 1: have any guys that may straight guys with a lot
- 17:36Speaker 1: of girlfriends. Yeah, I do.
- 17:39Speaker 2: I know a lot of guys like these are my girlfriends.
- 17:41Speaker 3: I'm like, do you think the benefits are just friends?
- 17:45Speaker 3: They're not just friends.
- 17:46Speaker 2: They've slept with all of them.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Yeah. I feel like that's.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I dated a guy who like, these are my friends,
- 17:52Speaker 2: and then like every single one were like that we dated,
- 17:54Speaker 2: and I was like, that's so nice for you. I
- 17:56Speaker 2: was like, oh my god, yeah yeah yeah, And I
- 17:59Speaker 2: didn't have respect for him after that.
- 18:00Speaker 3: You know what's funny, John, because I feel like your
- 18:03Speaker 3: opinion on a lot of these things it's going to
- 18:05Speaker 3: be different than my opinion with Kelly because we're both
- 18:08Speaker 3: Like when I was married, and I remember I had
- 18:10Speaker 3: all these single friends and they would tell me stories.
- 18:12Speaker 2: And I'd be like I could never.
- 18:14Speaker 3: I would never. I just could not fathom living that lifestyle,
- 18:19Speaker 3: you know, just because I was happily married, I had
- 18:20Speaker 3: all these kids, and once you become divorced. I feel
- 18:24Speaker 3: like you see things completely different.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I think that's probably true. I mean, you know we
- 18:30Speaker 1: are we are part two. It's definitely a part two,
- 18:34Speaker 1: right like our marriage. The first part of our marriage
- 18:36Speaker 1: is way different than what it is right now. And
- 18:39Speaker 1: my views, you know, in terms of what I'm looking
- 18:42Speaker 1: for in life. I used to say when we were separated,
- 18:45Speaker 1: we had no spark. I didn't feel as spark. Now
- 18:47Speaker 1: I've said as poor. But like I redefine spark, right, Like,
- 18:50Speaker 1: what does that mean for me? It doesn't mean that
- 18:53Speaker 1: every time he walks in the door, I'm gonna, you know,
- 18:57Speaker 1: whatever hang from the shop. I don't care as much
- 19:00Speaker 1: about that. What I care about is peace and fun
- 19:05Speaker 1: and companionship and respect and those things. I just that's
- 19:10Speaker 1: what I That's what my spark is today, Jen.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Jeff absolutely adores you when you put that dolt. When
- 19:15Speaker 2: I was with you at adulta event and you put
- 19:17Speaker 2: that dress on, he was like, we're taking that.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Look.
- 19:21Speaker 1: More than that, he actually bought it, which I've never
- 19:23Speaker 1: seen Jeff, I hit at that amount of money ever,
- 19:26Speaker 1: So he must.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Have so sweet And it's not just about buying a dress.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Like the way that I mean, I saw him the
- 19:33Speaker 2: way he was looking at you.
- 19:35Speaker 1: It wasn't like that though before we separated. That's the
- 19:37Speaker 1: interesting part. It really wasn't. I mean, shake up.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Every now and then they need you to like do
- 19:42Speaker 3: some crazy things to get them right because they forget
- 19:44Speaker 3: they think this is normal, like every the same thing
- 19:48Speaker 3: like is very normal from it. And they imagine, even
- 19:50Speaker 3: if they're in a toxic relationship, men never leave.
- 19:53Speaker 1: They could be comfortable and you know, a boring environment
- 19:57Speaker 1: unless they find someone else, unless they find Yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 3: But I find that you did. Whenever I hear stories
- 20:04Speaker 3: of my girlfriends that are like, I'm bored in my relationship.
- 20:07Speaker 3: You know, I've been with this guy for fifteen years,
- 20:09Speaker 3: and I'm like, stay where you are, okay, because these
- 20:12Speaker 3: streets are not for the faith. These streets are not
- 20:15Speaker 3: for every Okay. It is really challenging out there, and
- 20:18Speaker 3: I suggest you work on your relationship, find, you know,
- 20:21Speaker 3: find something to get you going.
- 20:23Speaker 1: You know, I say that too.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I say that to my friends. My friends are like,
- 20:26Speaker 2: they always like, I'm gonna get divorced, and like, first
- 20:28Speaker 2: of all, you don't even know what getting divorced means.
- 20:31Speaker 2: It's a it's like Hey, I'm getting divorced. It's like,
- 20:35Speaker 2: first of all, that contract is a crazy contract with
- 20:38Speaker 2: all these financial aftermath that just makes people ugly and dirty,
- 20:42Speaker 2: and it just just deteriorates any kind of connection that
- 20:46Speaker 2: you had. And number two, it is just like Larsa
- 20:50Speaker 2: is saying, it is the wild West out there, and
- 20:52Speaker 2: there are no rules, there's no regulations. People are all
- 20:57Speaker 2: over the place, and people are and cheating and married.
- 21:01Speaker 2: And I mean, I've just like I've been like trying
- 21:05Speaker 2: to be open to a lot of new situations and I'm.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Just like, Kelly, you got to be younger guys.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Larsa, I mean watching the show, and I
- 21:13Speaker 1: know that the show is the show, right, I'm not saying,
- 21:16Speaker 1: and we only see you know, little segments of your
- 21:18Speaker 1: life obviously, but in watching the show, I feel like
- 21:20Speaker 1: there's always been you. You've basically never had a problem
- 21:24Speaker 1: meeting a man. I mean, obviously you're beautiful and you're
- 21:27Speaker 1: you know, all of the things, but I feel like
- 21:29Speaker 1: you have where have you struggled to ever a meeting
- 21:32Speaker 1: in one? Because what I see, and again that's just
- 21:34Speaker 1: the show, is that you men love you like it's
- 21:38Speaker 1: not doesn't seem to be hard for you.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Fun, babe, jet I'm fun and I'm just kidding. I know,
- 21:43Speaker 3: I feel like I have very young energy. I feel
- 21:46Speaker 3: like I like to go out. I feel like Kelly
- 21:48Speaker 3: here the same way like I feel like I like
- 21:50Speaker 3: to go out. I'm fun. I have good energy, and
- 21:52Speaker 3: you know, when you're positive. A lot of times people
- 21:55Speaker 3: go through a divorce and like we were talking about this,
- 21:57Speaker 3: you become a victim. And nobody around negative people and
- 22:01Speaker 3: people that feel like they're defeated, and people feel like
- 22:04Speaker 3: they've gotten a shorter end of the stick. I think
- 22:06Speaker 3: nobody wants to be around you. But if you leave
- 22:09Speaker 3: a relationship and you're like, guess what, I'm going to
- 22:11Speaker 3: be better, I'm going to have more, I'm going to
- 22:14Speaker 3: get every single thing that I want. Then you attract that,
- 22:18Speaker 3: then that's what comes to you. You know, I don't
- 22:20Speaker 3: really have problem meeting guys, and you know, I kind
- 22:24Speaker 3: of choose who I want to be with. And it's
- 22:26Speaker 3: funny because I feel like I've gone through a different
- 22:27Speaker 3: stages since I've been divorced on what I want. I
- 22:30Speaker 3: wanted a dat, a guy that was really really successful.
- 22:33Speaker 3: I used to date a prince from Abu Dhabi, and
- 22:35Speaker 3: like he showed me things I've never seen before. It
- 22:38Speaker 3: was a whole different world for me dating someone that
- 22:42Speaker 3: you know, like traveled with his car on his plane,
- 22:45Speaker 3: never has never saw that before. He just showed me
- 22:48Speaker 3: things I've never seen before, you know, And I think
- 22:52Speaker 3: that it's like when you see different things and then
- 22:54Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, I'll take that off my bucket list.
- 22:56Speaker 3: It was great, it was fun, but that's not who's
- 22:58Speaker 3: going to be my partner?
- 23:00Speaker 1: Is it? Now? That didn't It didn't used to be
- 23:01Speaker 1: like what are you looking for? Now? That's different and
- 23:04Speaker 1: now I know you have a very serious boyfriend now,
- 23:06Speaker 1: so what was it that was different than other guys
- 23:09Speaker 1: that you can you know.
- 23:10Speaker 3: I feel like when I was dating the guy from Dubai,
- 23:12Speaker 3: my kids were younger, so it worked like I would
- 23:14Speaker 3: go to Dubai and visit him, he would come here
- 23:16Speaker 3: and visit me, Like he didn't have to be with
- 23:18Speaker 3: me all the time because I my kids were like
- 23:20Speaker 3: my main priority. Everything was about my kids, their basketball
- 23:24Speaker 3: schedules or school schedules, piano. Like I was like a
- 23:27Speaker 3: full on crazy mom. And so it was great having
- 23:30Speaker 3: a boyfriend that lived across the world because I would
- 23:32Speaker 3: go see him for three weeks. When Scotty had our kids,
- 23:35Speaker 3: I would come back and then be on mom mode,
- 23:36Speaker 3: you know, and vice versa. And I feel like today
- 23:39Speaker 3: my kids are older, so now it's like I have
- 23:41Speaker 3: more free time, and the guy that I'm dating now,
- 23:44Speaker 3: that I you know, been with, now has more free
- 23:48Speaker 3: time for me. So we're literally best friends. We do
- 23:50Speaker 3: everything together, like we work out together, we make breakfast together,
- 23:53Speaker 3: we do everything together.
- 23:54Speaker 1: So I feel like my what I have now is
- 23:57Speaker 1: what I need today, you know what I need now,
- 23:59Speaker 1: But what i'll is different, different than the other guys,
- 24:02Speaker 1: you know.
- 24:02Speaker 3: I think he comes and Kelly, you'd understand this. He
- 24:05Speaker 3: comes from a very like normal family, Like he comes
- 24:08Speaker 3: to his dad as an engineer like my dad. His
- 24:10Speaker 3: mom and dad are married for you know, fifty years
- 24:14Speaker 3: or forty some years, like my parents. He just comes
- 24:17Speaker 3: from a very cultured background. And I think, like me,
- 24:20Speaker 3: being like Middle Eastern, I'm used to certain things like
- 24:24Speaker 3: you know, like if my dad calls and tells me
- 24:26Speaker 3: to take a photo off ig, I'm taking it off.
- 24:28Speaker 3: If he calls me larsa that bikini picture, my dad
- 24:33Speaker 3: goes you published a photo, Larsa, take it down and
- 24:35Speaker 3: I'm like, oh my god, I'm taking.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Down the photo.
- 24:38Speaker 3: My dad's gonna kill me.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Really, Kelly, you two are like that.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, are you kidding me? When my dad was alive,
- 24:43Speaker 2: he was like.
- 24:44Speaker 3: All over, everything's okay.
- 24:46Speaker 2: He would say he would package things, like if he
- 24:49Speaker 2: saw something and read something that my mother had shown him,
- 24:52Speaker 2: he would package it in a way that was trying
- 24:54Speaker 2: to be positive, but he was basically like, don't ever
- 24:56Speaker 2: do that again, Like I will you?
- 24:58Speaker 3: Like, are you like? And I feel like Jeff has
- 25:01Speaker 3: the same family. They're like the thing. I love that,
- 25:04Speaker 3: and they're very traditional, Like he grew up having a
- 25:07Speaker 3: mom and dad, so he knows what it's like to
- 25:09Speaker 3: have a successful relationship. I think it's it's hard when, like,
- 25:13Speaker 3: you come from a normal family and then you date
- 25:16Speaker 3: someone that doesn't have that. My ex husband came from
- 25:18Speaker 3: a mom and dad that were happily married and so
- 25:21Speaker 3: we co parented the same. We had a lot of similarities,
- 25:24Speaker 3: and I think once I started dating guys that didn't
- 25:27Speaker 3: have that, it's just different. They're used to different traumas,
- 25:30Speaker 3: Like they're just used to different things. That trigger them,
- 25:33Speaker 3: and you're always having to make them feel good and
- 25:34Speaker 3: you're always having to like.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Well, that was me. I came from the traumatic background
- 25:38Speaker 1: and the broken family and Jeff my husband. I mean,
- 25:42Speaker 1: you couldn't have gotten a more normal like yeah, like
- 25:47Speaker 1: just like he grew up, there was never issues. Parents
- 25:49Speaker 1: adored each other, it was but for me it was
- 25:54Speaker 1: the nightmare. And but I think part of maybe why
- 25:57Speaker 1: I was drawn to him, and then maybe part of
- 25:59Speaker 1: why we got separated, Like I was drawn to him
- 26:01Speaker 1: because of the he was so solid. Then maybe my
- 26:05Speaker 1: crazy snuck back in and I looked for crazy for
- 26:08Speaker 1: a while, and I looked for just because I've been
- 26:12Speaker 1: I'm so used to crazy. But yeah, I mean this
- 26:14Speaker 1: is actually turning in. This is not just about me.
- 26:16Speaker 1: I'm in therapy now, you guys. I'm sorry. I don't
- 26:18Speaker 1: mean to like, but it's just I haven't really thought
- 26:20Speaker 1: about it until this moment. Maybe that's like part of
- 26:22Speaker 1: why we got separated. Things were too calm and I
- 26:24Speaker 1: just wasn't used to it, and I was used to
- 26:27Speaker 1: chaos always growing up. Now I am very very happy
- 26:29Speaker 1: with calm, boring, peaceful and by the.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Way, Larsa and I are in a very similar situation.
- 26:36Speaker 2: I just started dating this guy recently, since the summer.
- 26:39Speaker 2: He's very much like how I was raised. His family's
- 26:43Speaker 2: like my family. He's a great parent, his kids come first,
- 26:48Speaker 2: and so like, I just feel very comfortable around him,
- 26:52Speaker 2: where a lot of guys before, like I didn't like
- 26:55Speaker 2: the way they parented their children, or they the way
- 26:58Speaker 2: they talked about their exes, be very uncomfortable, And this
- 27:01Speaker 2: guy doesn't do any of that.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's really good.
- 27:05Speaker 2: That makes me feel good.
- 27:06Speaker 4: That makes me feel it's not safe, but it just
- 27:10Speaker 4: makes me feel like calm, Like I am in a
- 27:13Speaker 4: good place and I'm feeling good about what I'm doing,
- 27:17Speaker 4: and everything else is like starting to do well as
- 27:20Speaker 4: a result.
- 27:21Speaker 2: And I know I shouldn't like place like, you know,
- 27:25Speaker 2: emphasis on my relationship and for everything else, but just
- 27:27Speaker 2: me personally, I feel like I'm in a very good
- 27:30Speaker 2: place with him.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I love that you can have craziness everywhere else, but
- 27:34Speaker 3: I think if you have craziness at home, it disrupts
- 27:37Speaker 3: everything else, your work, your kids, you know, everything else.
- 27:40Speaker 2: By the way, I already parented two children, I don't
- 27:42Speaker 2: want a parent anymore. I don't want I don't want
- 27:44Speaker 2: to parent a man. It's not happening.
- 27:46Speaker 3: So no, I hear you, trust me. I've been there,
- 27:49Speaker 3: done that. I've tried to tell you that being single,
- 27:51Speaker 3: I tried it all, and you know what, I really
- 27:54Speaker 3: I didn't have a good experience dating someone with kids.
- 27:57Speaker 3: And it's crazy to say because I have four kids.
- 27:59Speaker 3: But I think for me, like I'm such like you know, moms,
- 28:02Speaker 3: like we're we could do we can multitask, we can
- 28:05Speaker 3: do ten things some time. But I think it's really
- 28:08Speaker 3: hard for single dads to do that. They don't know
- 28:10Speaker 3: how to like navigate work, kids and a new relationship.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I think that's a really interesting point. I think a
- 28:17Speaker 1: lot of women have a hard time. Specifically, I think
- 28:20Speaker 1: with picture dating a guy right now with young kids,
- 28:24Speaker 1: you know, and your kids are that's hard, right, awful.
- 28:28Speaker 2: For the little boy, I felt offul all my it
- 28:30Speaker 2: was awful.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Tell us Kelly, So what was it like, No, it
- 28:34Speaker 3: was just it.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Was very difficult because you know, I have raised kids
- 28:37Speaker 2: on my own and I love children, and so I
- 28:41Speaker 2: had to just have a different way of being with
- 28:43Speaker 2: kids and you know, creating boundaries. But also, like like
- 28:48Speaker 2: Jen talks about, like I like fuel children with.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Love, like tons and tons and love of love, so
- 28:54Speaker 3: they feel.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Safe with me, and I think it's it's very strong
- 28:58Speaker 2: when they go back home and they're like like, I'm
- 29:00Speaker 2: in this amazing she's you know, I have this new
- 29:03Speaker 2: friend and she like wants to read with me and
- 29:06Speaker 2: do all these things, and the mom is like, I'm
- 29:07Speaker 2: too busy, I'm gonna read with you now or whatever
- 29:09Speaker 2: it is that she's doing. Not to say that she's
- 29:11Speaker 2: a bad parent, but it's just like we're different because
- 29:14Speaker 2: I'm not full parent, and so I think that you know,
- 29:17Speaker 2: it was very difficult for the kids, and I could
- 29:20Speaker 2: see it. It was awful.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Did you also feel like you just didn't want to
- 29:22Speaker 1: do it again, Like you've done that that young kid parenting?
- 29:27Speaker 1: Like I know for myself, I would not want to
- 29:30Speaker 1: do that again, specifically with even any I don't want to.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I want to want to do together my own kids,
- 29:34Speaker 1: much less someone else is like I've done that.
- 29:37Speaker 2: I've dated two guys I had children, and one of them,
- 29:40Speaker 2: you know, had a beautiful daughter, and like we would
- 29:43Speaker 2: run together and do all these things, and she was
- 29:44Speaker 2: kind of really bonding with me, which is so nice.
- 29:47Speaker 2: It made me feel so good, but then I'm like,
- 29:50Speaker 2: this is not when I'm I mean, it's one thing
- 29:52Speaker 2: to bond, but I don't want to be replacing or
- 29:54Speaker 2: I don't want that. I mean, I felt it was
- 29:57Speaker 2: making me feel uncomfortable. I don't know how to explain it.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Like you know, I mean now that I'm so great,
- 30:02Speaker 2: but I just love I love kids. I do. I like,
- 30:06Speaker 2: I love their curiosity and I just want them to
- 30:09Speaker 2: be happy and regardless of.
- 30:11Speaker 1: What he but I don't want to raise them again.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 30:14Speaker 3: I literally was like, should I have another baby?
- 30:17Speaker 1: Serious?
- 30:18Speaker 2: That's one of my biggest regrets. LARSA, I should have
- 30:21Speaker 2: had more kids.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Well it's not too late, no way, I mean not that, listen.
- 30:26Speaker 1: I also, I obviously love kids, but absolutely not. I
- 30:30Speaker 1: have done, been there, done that, I've done my time.
- 30:33Speaker 1: I loved every single minute of it. And like all mothers,
- 30:38Speaker 1: if it's me or them, it's them, like I will
- 30:40Speaker 1: choose it. But I'm good, like I like not having
- 30:44Speaker 1: to answer to anyone anymore. I'm enjoying it very much.
- 30:48Speaker 2: When I was, when I was, when I after I
- 30:50Speaker 2: got divorced, and then I wanted a housewives I was like,
- 30:52Speaker 2: I'm going to meet these great guys. I'm going to
- 30:54Speaker 2: be able to have another child. This is going to
- 30:56Speaker 2: be unbelievable. And it was like we were talking about before.
- 30:59Speaker 2: It was I'm like, what is going on? Who are
- 31:02Speaker 2: these men and why are they round?
- 31:05Speaker 1: Like?
- 31:05Speaker 2: This is not if I want to have a child
- 31:07Speaker 2: with LARSA. Let's do another question.
- 31:19Speaker 3: I froze embryos when I was married, but my husband, Natalie,
- 31:22Speaker 3: passed away in a car accident. I don't know if
- 31:25Speaker 3: I'll ever be able to date again. Should I think
- 31:27Speaker 3: about being a single mom or is that selfish? I
- 31:30Speaker 3: would do it if I wanted to have a child,
- 31:32Speaker 3: I would much rather have a child with someone that
- 31:34Speaker 3: I loved, that was a good person, than a random
- 31:38Speaker 3: boyfriend that, you know it possibly could not work out.
- 31:42Speaker 3: I would definitely use the embryos. What about you guys?
- 31:45Speaker 2: I know a lot of them.
- 31:46Speaker 1: To do it, I think is probably different for everyone.
- 31:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. I mean I think
- 31:50Speaker 1: that ideally I would want to raise children with a partner.
- 31:55Speaker 1: It's just easier to have a partner. Not always, but
- 31:58Speaker 1: in most I think in most situations easier. But I
- 32:01Speaker 1: don't know that seems like such a personal individual decision.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 32:07Speaker 2: I just know a lot of women who have raised
- 32:12Speaker 2: children on their own, whether they've adopted them, whether they
- 32:15Speaker 2: have you know, gone through you know, different avenues to
- 32:20Speaker 2: have babies, and they seem so happy and like one
- 32:25Speaker 2: of them is like this major, major, major woman in
- 32:28Speaker 2: business and she's like, I would never have been able
- 32:31Speaker 2: to have a child if it weren't this way, So
- 32:34Speaker 2: like that's amazing.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think you ever regread it. I don't
- 32:38Speaker 1: think you ever go I wish I hadn't. Right, Once
- 32:40Speaker 1: you have a baby, there's only everything your heart opens up.
- 32:43Speaker 1: There's no no matter how you have It.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Would have been nice to have had a partner to
- 32:48Speaker 2: raise my children with. You know, my children were five
- 32:51Speaker 2: and seven when they were in housewives when I was single, Like,
- 32:53Speaker 2: would it have been nice to have someone like nurture
- 32:56Speaker 2: my children through that process. Fortunately I had a great father,
- 33:00Speaker 2: but you know I didn't have I didn't have that opposite.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I was the mother and the father to them, and
- 33:06Speaker 2: you know, I'm I'm so grateful that my children are amazing,
- 33:09Speaker 2: but you know that is something that really is difficult
- 33:13Speaker 2: for them It's.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Funny because when I was, when I was going through
- 33:17Speaker 3: my divorce and till today. It's funny because Scotty and
- 33:20Speaker 3: I fight over the kids, like he shows them so
- 33:23Speaker 3: much love. I show them so much love, and I
- 33:24Speaker 3: tell my kids sometimes it's like last Thanksgiving, Sophia was
- 33:27Speaker 3: supposed to come to Miami and her dad was like, no,
- 33:29Speaker 3: I'm taking her to Arkansas to visit his family. And
- 33:32Speaker 3: she was so upset, and I'm like, it's okay, go
- 33:34Speaker 3: to Arkansas with your dad, Like he loves you so much,
- 33:37Speaker 3: he's so proud of it, you want to take you
- 33:39Speaker 3: to visit his family. But I was thinking, like, I
- 33:41Speaker 3: guess it's a good problem to have both your parents
- 33:44Speaker 3: are fighting for you and want you. That's like a
- 33:47Speaker 3: good feeling, you.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Know, right. I think that's so great. I love that
- 33:51Speaker 1: you and Scottie are. It sounds like it's such a
- 33:54Speaker 1: good place.
- 33:55Speaker 3: You know what I've learned to do, Jen I just give,
- 33:57Speaker 3: like I give him all the praise, I give him
- 34:01Speaker 3: whatever he says. I kind of just go with because
- 34:03Speaker 3: I can live in a place of like turmoil, and
- 34:05Speaker 3: I could have done that, like when we were going
- 34:07Speaker 3: through our divorce, I could have been really, you know,
- 34:10Speaker 3: I could have made his life help and I didn't.
- 34:12Speaker 3: I chose not to. I was like, I'm not going
- 34:14Speaker 3: to do that because once you start that cycle, I
- 34:17Speaker 3: feel like it never ends.
- 34:18Speaker 1: That's a great lesson, Like that's I hope that our
- 34:22Speaker 1: listeners like I say it again because I just think
- 34:24Speaker 1: that's such a I think it's so helpful to people
- 34:26Speaker 1: going through divorce, Like it's not going to help to
- 34:30Speaker 1: if you are like it, if you are kind, because
- 34:34Speaker 1: I when I was separated, I remember like we thought
- 34:37Speaker 1: we were getting divorced, and I was not. It was
- 34:39Speaker 1: not going to be contentious. I was bound and determined
- 34:42Speaker 1: to not have it be so ugly because I grew
- 34:45Speaker 1: up with such ugly divorces, and as a result, I
- 34:48Speaker 1: did kind of what you did, Laursa. Like my daughter
- 34:50Speaker 1: would call and she'd be like, daddy's doing this, and
- 34:53Speaker 1: I was like, you're calling me to complain about Jeff Fesler. Honey,
- 34:56Speaker 1: you had the wrong number. Okay, you know how lucky,
- 35:00Speaker 1: But that kind of thing that I made such a
- 35:02Speaker 1: difference to him and conversely, you know it just I
- 35:06Speaker 1: think that's such good advice, Like what you did, I
- 35:09Speaker 1: think is is beautiful thing.
- 35:11Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's honestly, it's a conscious effort. You know,
- 35:14Speaker 3: I could have all my friends. I remember I was
- 35:16Speaker 3: filming Housewives and I was like crying because I was like,
- 35:18Speaker 3: oh my god, Sophia's I'm not going to be with
- 35:20Speaker 3: Sophia for Thanksgiving. Like I was really like heartbroken about that.
- 35:24Speaker 3: And I could have called my lawyers. I could have
- 35:26Speaker 3: called him and went crazy on him, like why are
- 35:28Speaker 3: you doing this? Why won't you let her know be
- 35:30Speaker 3: with me? And I just thought, it's it's not going
- 35:33Speaker 3: to win anything. She's with her dad. She's happy. She's
- 35:36Speaker 3: not happy right now, but she will be happy when
- 35:38Speaker 3: she gets around all her cousins. And I just have
- 35:40Speaker 3: to always take the high road. And I feel like
- 35:42Speaker 3: that's the only thing that's worked for my sanity. My
- 35:44Speaker 3: kids they're like amazing, They're they're great because I never
- 35:48Speaker 3: complained about their dad. Their dad kuld do anything to me,
- 35:51Speaker 3: and I will never talk about him. I will never
- 35:53Speaker 3: put in a bad night. I you know, I was
- 35:57Speaker 3: married to an NBA player. You guys, you can only
- 35:59Speaker 3: imagine how crazy my life was. But I've never ever
- 36:01Speaker 3: bashed him. I've never you know, said negative things about
- 36:05Speaker 3: him and the press or at home.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Or amongst my people.
- 36:07Speaker 3: And I think that's like how you're supposed to handle
- 36:11Speaker 3: divorce because if you do bash your ex on social media,
- 36:15Speaker 3: your kids will see that, and you know what I mean,
- 36:16Speaker 3: it's just toxic for everyone. And then he resents your
- 36:19Speaker 3: kids because they're you know, kind of have their mom's back.
- 36:23Speaker 3: It's just not a good playing field for anyone. So
- 36:26Speaker 3: I've always like had a conscious effort to you know,
- 36:31Speaker 3: whatever he does, I'm like, okay, thanks, love you, like,
- 36:34Speaker 3: I hope you're good. He can do the worst things
- 36:36Speaker 3: to me, guys. I literally I'm like, Okay, I hope
- 36:39Speaker 3: you have a great day. Love you.
- 36:41Speaker 1: You know kell Yeah, Bill last years either.
- 36:45Speaker 2: No, I never do. I mean, listen, he shot Playboy
- 36:48Speaker 2: for me. I mean, he shot a couple covers for me.
- 36:50Speaker 2: And I always have him do everything for me that
- 36:53Speaker 2: has to do with any photography. And I would never
- 36:56Speaker 2: do that because I don't want my girls to feel
- 36:59Speaker 2: like insecure about their dad. That just doesn't it doesn't
- 37:04Speaker 2: like it's just it's just it's a lose lose.
- 37:07Speaker 3: You're just not you know, a lot of women do that,
- 37:09Speaker 3: and I don't they rather play victim and bash their ex.
- 37:12Speaker 3: And I'm like, it's just so toxic and it will
- 37:15Speaker 3: never end, you know, It's just like a cycle of
- 37:18Speaker 3: he did this, he did that, and it's like at
- 37:20Speaker 3: the end of the day, you know, just make peace
- 37:22Speaker 3: whatever it is, and make peace and keep.
- 37:24Speaker 1: It MOVINGE love that.
- 37:25Speaker 2: And a therapist once told me that you gravitate towards
- 37:30Speaker 2: your like like your father, or men gravitate towards their mother.
- 37:34Speaker 2: So however that whatever that relationship was, like, that's what
- 37:38Speaker 2: you that's where you find like safety. So like we
- 37:40Speaker 2: were talking about that before, Jen, how you were like
- 37:43Speaker 2: you had you know, some bad things tomoril in your past,
- 37:46Speaker 2: so that's that's where you felt that that was your
- 37:47Speaker 2: safe zone. And so for women like we, you know,
- 37:51Speaker 2: I had a great, strong, academic father. I feel safe
- 37:56Speaker 2: in that kind of powerful human. I don't feel safe
- 38:00Speaker 2: in the you know, while loose like that doesn't make
- 38:05Speaker 2: me feel safe.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I like to know where I stand. I feel
- 38:08Speaker 3: like I don't want to get in a pool unless
- 38:10Speaker 3: I know the temperature, unless I know what's like. I'm
- 38:12Speaker 3: not going swimming unless I know what's what I'm signing.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Up for smart girl.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Okay, see, I always want to hear this is. This
- 38:19Speaker 3: reminds me of one of my best friends. You guys,
- 38:21Speaker 3: I'm friends with this girl and she was dating this guy.
- 38:24Speaker 3: So wait, let me read this story. Let me read
- 38:25Speaker 3: this question that CJ has for us been living the
- 38:30Speaker 3: bachelor life since divorced. But most of the women I
- 38:33Speaker 3: date last long, don't last longer than a month. I'm
- 38:36Speaker 3: on the shorter side. And yeah, that's not big either.
- 38:38Speaker 3: The size really mattered to women.
- 38:40Speaker 1: That's my question. That was that was written for me.
- 38:44Speaker 1: So when I was single again ten million years ago,
- 38:48Speaker 1: I was my only My only absolute was that he'd
- 38:53Speaker 1: be taller than me. And when I got fixed up
- 38:56Speaker 1: on dates, I would say, I'm not going out. I
- 38:58Speaker 1: don't care. He doesn't have to be so handsome, he
- 39:01Speaker 1: doesn't have to be so wealthy, he just has to
- 39:05Speaker 1: be tall. Jeff is five six. I think that it's
- 39:09Speaker 1: a very interesting and I did that. But you know, now,
- 39:15Speaker 1: I watched this guy, this professor from n YU. He
- 39:17Speaker 1: does a lot of talking about younger boys and girls
- 39:21Speaker 1: and how because so much that is social media, you
- 39:23Speaker 1: see that like a lot of times the girls will
- 39:26Speaker 1: swipe I don't know which is the bad one left
- 39:28Speaker 1: or right, but swipe one way, if the guy is,
- 39:30Speaker 1: if the boys not tall, right or the thing. That's
- 39:34Speaker 1: why it's so like, like I would say to young people,
- 39:36Speaker 1: you have to go out and meet people, because maybe
- 39:38Speaker 1: you meet this short guy and he's got this unbelievably
- 39:42Speaker 1: perfect personality and he looks at you in the eye.
- 39:47Speaker 1: He can meet you whatever and you whatever, and there's
- 39:51Speaker 1: there's just beromones and chemistry. I think that like part
- 39:55Speaker 1: of that is being out in the world right, and
- 40:00Speaker 1: you know, I think online that's hard. I do think
- 40:02Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of girls look for tall.
- 40:05Speaker 1: I mean I was always felt like a big girl also,
- 40:09Speaker 1: so I wanted a guy to make me feel like
- 40:12Speaker 1: a more sort of smaller feminine whatever it was.
- 40:15Speaker 2: First of all, you're not a big girl. You're tiny
- 40:18Speaker 2: and perfect.
- 40:19Speaker 1: And Ellie, I mean I was, I always was. I
- 40:23Speaker 1: was always very I would go through like had really
- 40:26Speaker 1: heavy periods like you know, being so I always you
- 40:30Speaker 1: did too, LARSA.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, really, you know what's really interesting, I feel
- 40:34Speaker 3: like what you like. For instance, not that you're ever
- 40:38Speaker 3: going to get divorced, John, but if you were ever
- 40:39Speaker 3: to get divorced, you'd probably look for a short guy.
- 40:42Speaker 3: I think you're used to I have a girlfriend that
- 40:45Speaker 3: literally only dates shorter men, and that's really she were heels. Yeah,
- 40:50Speaker 3: she's like five five with heels, she's like five eight,
- 40:53Speaker 3: and she only dates guys that are literally like short.
- 40:55Speaker 3: And I was like, why do you only like short guys?
- 40:57Speaker 3: And she's like, I think I'm just used to shorter men.
- 41:00Speaker 3: So I do you think it's good to, you know,
- 41:02Speaker 3: keep your options open. You understand tall men's like it's
- 41:05Speaker 3: less than like it's like one percent of the population.
- 41:07Speaker 1: You guys, right, and you've dated all of them, lady, I.
- 41:10Speaker 3: Dated all of them. I'll take you know. I think
- 41:12Speaker 3: I like what I'm used to. You know, so I'm
- 41:16Speaker 3: used to tall guys. My kids are all tall. So
- 41:18Speaker 3: and I don't want to get a leader. When I
- 41:20Speaker 3: want to reach up to the cabinet, I'll just call
- 41:22Speaker 3: job for my kids and be like, can you get
- 41:23Speaker 3: that at the top?
- 41:24Speaker 1: No, you definitely could be right. Maybe I would be drawn.
- 41:26Speaker 3: I like that when you're a date, when you have
- 41:28Speaker 3: like when you've spent a lot of time with someone,
- 41:30Speaker 3: you just gravitate towards the same thing. It's really weird.
- 41:33Speaker 3: It's really I.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Would want first thing, I gravitate towards nice nice. I
- 41:37Speaker 1: would want them nice. My husband is nice, and I
- 41:40Speaker 1: know that sounds very trite, but I would want I'd
- 41:42Speaker 1: be very much on the look at smart or and smart.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Yes, and he loves his Jenfestler, Yes, that's good advice.
- 41:52Speaker 3: I feel like you give really good advice.
- 41:54Speaker 1: It's a nice thing to say.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Jen always. Jen is like very real, thank you.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Okay, all right, anyway, moving to it.
- 42:03Speaker 3: You care.
- 42:04Speaker 2: You don't just like give advice that makes you sound good.
- 42:07Speaker 2: You give advice that's real.
- 42:09Speaker 1: You do well. I mean, I'd love to go keep
- 42:11Speaker 1: going with this, but maybe do another thing.
- 42:14Speaker 2: More about me, more, me.
- 42:16Speaker 3: Me, me, me me.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Let's go to Olivia. She's seeing two guys right now,
- 42:21Speaker 2: and I defer too. She's decided to date more more.
- 42:25Speaker 2: She's decided to date more like men do. But things
- 42:29Speaker 2: are starting to get serious with both of them, and
- 42:32Speaker 2: she likes them for two different reasons. I know I
- 42:34Speaker 2: can't see them both forever. How should I figure out
- 42:38Speaker 2: which one I should keep and which one I should
- 42:41Speaker 2: break up with?
- 42:43Speaker 3: I would say, whoever you sleep better with at night?
- 42:47Speaker 1: Sleep sleep or sleep sleep like zz Like.
- 42:50Speaker 3: I feel like anytime I was in a relationship that
- 42:53Speaker 3: was good, I would sleep like a baby, And anytime
- 42:56Speaker 3: I was dating someone where I couldn't sleep all night
- 42:58Speaker 3: and I just had all these like like weird thoughts
- 43:01Speaker 3: in my mind, like even though he was a great guy,
- 43:04Speaker 3: but I just had these like things that would go
- 43:05Speaker 3: in the back of my mind. I'm like, no, I
- 43:07Speaker 3: don't trust him. There's something about him. I don't trust
- 43:09Speaker 3: even though he's giving me all this stuff like no,
- 43:13Speaker 3: So I think, whoever you sleep with the best I've
- 43:15Speaker 3: dated guys, you guys were I could not sleep at
- 43:18Speaker 3: all and I was like that's my body and God
- 43:20Speaker 3: talking and me telling me he's not the guy. Yeah,
- 43:23Speaker 3: So I would break up with guys because I couldn't
- 43:25Speaker 3: sleep next to him. I'm like, I can't be with
- 43:27Speaker 3: this guy. I don't sleep.
- 43:29Speaker 1: So you weren't. You were uncomfortable, You weren't You couldn't
- 43:31Speaker 1: feel like you could relax.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Yeah, or like any won't like gives you anxiety, Like
- 43:38Speaker 2: if they don't call you back, it gives you anxiety.
- 43:40Speaker 2: I feel like those kind of some people are like,
- 43:43Speaker 2: oh my god, that's their tone and like lift, Like
- 43:46Speaker 2: that is not a serotonin lift. That is a do
- 43:49Speaker 2: not text be with that person that your body is
- 43:52Speaker 2: saying there's too much that there's there's too much attached
- 43:56Speaker 2: to that phone call. Used to be with someone that
- 43:59Speaker 2: makes you feel good about yourself, like you're saying sleep
- 44:01Speaker 2: feel good about yourself, like you want to me better,
- 44:04Speaker 2: like I just I mean, I want to be in
- 44:07Speaker 2: a relationship where I feel better. I don't want to
- 44:09Speaker 2: be in a relationship or on my back foot I've
- 44:10Speaker 2: been in not all my life.
- 44:12Speaker 3: Or you can always flip a coin. I do that
- 44:14Speaker 3: a lot to you, guys. I'm like this week or
- 44:17Speaker 3: next share break up with them this week or next
- 44:19Speaker 3: a flipal coin. I'm like, no, this week, Okay, we're
- 44:21Speaker 3: moving on.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Well. I also think you don't have to make that
- 44:23Speaker 1: choice until you have to make that choice, Like I
- 44:25Speaker 1: don't know if you know, unless there's a ring on
- 44:28Speaker 1: your finger or this you know, push or exclusivity, Why
- 44:33Speaker 1: can't you keep dating them both.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Like as long as they know, though, I don't think
- 44:37Speaker 2: it's fair.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think it's fair to be in two different.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Two relationships if you haven't said to them like we're
- 44:43Speaker 2: not we're not committing because that's just not fair. That's
- 44:46Speaker 2: like leading two people on. And you know that just
- 44:51Speaker 2: is like that you're never you're never going to sleep
- 44:53Speaker 2: all at night because you're not doing like nice things
- 44:57Speaker 2: like that's just I don't think that's fair.
- 44:58Speaker 3: What about your listen interesting? I feel like it's hard
- 45:02Speaker 3: to get to know someone unless you spend a lot
- 45:04Speaker 3: of time with them and invest with like invest in
- 45:06Speaker 3: them and they invest in you. Right, So that's one person, right,
- 45:09Speaker 3: But in today's world, I feel like people like you
- 45:12Speaker 3: more if you're unavailable. So if you are dating two people,
- 45:14Speaker 3: they both probably like you because you're unavailable, busy, You're
- 45:19Speaker 3: very busy, kind of crazy. But it's kind of it's
- 45:22Speaker 3: working out for her with these two guys because she
- 45:24Speaker 3: doesn't have as much time. She's juggling two guys, right.
- 45:29Speaker 3: But then at the same time, it's like you have
- 45:31Speaker 3: to really get to, you know, invest in one person.
- 45:34Speaker 3: So data is hard to twenty twenty five. You have
- 45:37Speaker 3: to navigate each relationship like different. I think each relation,
- 45:40Speaker 3: each relationship is like unique and different, and you have
- 45:43Speaker 3: to handle it and take an approach that's like just
- 45:47Speaker 3: made for that one relationship.
- 45:48Speaker 5: You know.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Oh my god, I see a question. It's like glaring
- 45:52Speaker 2: at me. It's from Cheryl. She's saying, going into my
- 45:54Speaker 2: second marriage and I'm set on having a pren at
- 45:56Speaker 2: this time. My fiancee is hesitant that the prenup will
- 46:00Speaker 2: ruined the finances, possibly of his kids from his first marriage.
- 46:04Speaker 2: How do I make him see my side of things.
- 46:08Speaker 1: I'm a big prenup fan.
- 46:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I am too. It's just it's better to understand
- 46:15Speaker 3: what you're signing up for. And I think it instead
- 46:18Speaker 3: of fighting each other and whatever it is, I think
- 46:21Speaker 3: you have to go into a relationship once you committed
- 46:24Speaker 3: to each other, like you're going to get remarried, then
- 46:26Speaker 3: you know exactly what it is, you.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Know, Yeah, I mean first time around, maybe you like,
- 46:31Speaker 1: now you've seen that even though you go into something forever,
- 46:34Speaker 1: it doesn't always end up being forever. So now you're
- 46:37Speaker 1: on your second time around, specifically, I don't know. I
- 46:41Speaker 1: don't know I would tell any one of my friends.
- 46:43Speaker 2: I mean, unless you're already locked up, like this is
- 46:46Speaker 2: in trust or whatever, like that's totally different. But I
- 46:50Speaker 2: think it's I definitely think it's a good thing to do.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Kelly, you had the whole issue with this in your
- 46:55Speaker 1: last relationship.
- 46:57Speaker 3: Yeahs are a good thing. I think it's it's an
- 47:00Speaker 3: you know what you're getting out of the situation, best case,
- 47:03Speaker 3: worst case. Like I just I hate the unknown.
- 47:06Speaker 2: You know you don't know what it is.
- 47:07Speaker 3: It's much better put in writing and understand what you're
- 47:11Speaker 3: sending up for. I tell my kids this, like my
- 47:12Speaker 3: son's in the NBA. I'm like, I don't know when
- 47:14Speaker 3: you're gonna get married, but when you do, you're defining
- 47:16Speaker 3: an adoprena.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Right, Yes, of course I hear you. This question is
- 47:21Speaker 1: really I'm just loving it, but you guys can answer.
- 47:24Speaker 1: It started seeing a man who's sixty three, and when
- 47:27Speaker 1: we got to the point where we were sharing kinks
- 47:30Speaker 1: and what we like, he told me he likes watching
- 47:33Speaker 1: porn daily. That feels like cheating to me. Am I wrong?
- 47:38Speaker 3: Go, I think it's definitely cheating. I would feel jealous.
- 47:43Speaker 3: I just know my personality like Kelly, are the same?
- 47:46Speaker 3: That sounds like right like, I'm not I'm not cool
- 47:49Speaker 3: with that because you're cheating on me. Someone else is
- 47:51Speaker 3: making you feel good and it's not me, So you're
- 47:53Speaker 3: not my guy.
- 47:54Speaker 2: I would be so jealous.
- 47:56Speaker 1: All right, Well, I honestly, I wouldn't. I'm not I do.
- 48:00Speaker 1: I don't know, I know. I mean that's it's like
- 48:03Speaker 1: feels like I'm giving out a lot of information. But
- 48:06Speaker 1: I mean, I just I don't know. That doesn't maybe
- 48:09Speaker 1: because I've watched I watch not any I'm fifty seven
- 48:13Speaker 1: years old.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Watching porn every now and then. It's different. But I'm saying,
- 48:16Speaker 3: if you're watching it every single day, he's got a
- 48:19Speaker 3: full on a relationship with this girl, even though it's
- 48:22Speaker 3: in his mind.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's a problem to watch porn every
- 48:26Speaker 1: day period. Yes, I agree with you. That's it's getting.
- 48:29Speaker 1: It's a little weird. But I don't really like if
- 48:32Speaker 1: I think that my man is upstairs in the bathroom
- 48:36Speaker 1: and he's on the phone, it doesn't bother me. That
- 48:38Speaker 1: would not bother me. But but you know, I know
- 48:40Speaker 1: it does bother a lot of women. Yeah, I don't
- 48:43Speaker 1: know why it doesn't. I don't know why it doesn't
- 48:45Speaker 1: bother me. I don't know. I also because like, do
- 48:47Speaker 1: you guys watch porn?
- 48:49Speaker 2: No, I mean I have in the past some, but
- 48:52Speaker 2: I'm not like a porn watcher.
- 48:54Speaker 3: Yeah, So Hannah said John on divorce is finally settled.
- 49:00Speaker 3: I'm having a divorce party next month. What should my
- 49:02Speaker 3: rider die friends and I do to celebrate? You'd be
- 49:06Speaker 3: good at this one.
- 49:08Speaker 2: I think your ride or die girlfriends should do something
- 49:12Speaker 2: that just like that's like brings you together, like we
- 49:16Speaker 2: were talking about before, Like I feel like female friendships
- 49:19Speaker 2: are so important and so something that's like a celebration
- 49:23Speaker 2: of the friendship I think is like the best thing
- 49:26Speaker 2: to do. I don't think like parties with like you know,
- 49:29Speaker 2: blow up penises or something like that, Like I mean
- 49:32Speaker 2: that's not but just like things that really make the
- 49:35Speaker 2: group bond is something that like I would.
- 49:38Speaker 3: Want to do, like go to Paris and net proissants
- 49:42Speaker 3: right unavailable, Let's go. I'm like, that's that's what makes
- 49:46Speaker 3: me want to you know what I mean, have a
- 49:47Speaker 3: party with or without a man, like go skiing with
- 49:50Speaker 3: your girlfriends.
- 49:51Speaker 1: I take you know, having the idea of having a
- 49:54Speaker 1: party after because you're getting divorced is so healthy as
- 49:58Speaker 1: opposed to like sinking into divorced. And I got divorced.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I mean you're going to go through that obviously, but
- 50:05Speaker 1: I think like celebrating this new chat with your girlfriends.
- 50:10Speaker 1: I think that's such a great idea and like being.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Like having them be a part of it. I think
- 50:15Speaker 2: like we were talking about before about like friendships, and
- 50:17Speaker 2: I feel like some female friendships get really intimidated by
- 50:21Speaker 2: at this time the stage of our life, Like if
- 50:23Speaker 2: you're with someone else and they're like, you're never going
- 50:25Speaker 2: to be available anymore because you're always going to be
- 50:27Speaker 2: with ex or why And so if you can do
- 50:29Speaker 2: something where you like bond and you have this moment,
- 50:32Speaker 2: then you know you always have something to remember you. No,
- 50:36Speaker 2: like ar Paris is always a good idea, like.
- 50:39Speaker 5: Sa right, Halloween is around the corner, and your favorite

- 51:45Speaker 3: Tom says, starting to date again, losing my wife, trying
- 51:48Speaker 3: to navigate the online thing for the first time. What
- 51:51Speaker 3: should I be putting on my profile? What do you avoid?
- 51:55Speaker 3: What kind of pictures do women like to see?
- 51:57Speaker 1: I'll let you guys answer that. Oh Jenna that if
- 51:59Speaker 1: you don't, oh you know this one, listen, I can
- 52:02Speaker 1: tell you, well, I haven't. Like when Jeff and I
- 52:03Speaker 1: were separated, it wasn't that wasn't that much online dating.
- 52:06Speaker 1: That's how long ago there was. But if you asked me,
- 52:08Speaker 1: like if I go through it with my daughter or
- 52:11Speaker 1: my son, like and there not that my son doesn't
- 52:13Speaker 1: share with me about this stuff, but like my daughter
- 52:15Speaker 1: and or what she's looking at. I guess the kind
- 52:18Speaker 1: of corny, hokey answer is you want your profile to
- 52:21Speaker 1: represent the best of you, but not not something made
- 52:26Speaker 1: up or something fabricated, like here's who I am.
- 52:30Speaker 3: You're saying you should be authentic. Whatever you're authentic, take
- 52:32Speaker 3: it to be authentic.
- 52:33Speaker 1: I think you can also, you know, talk about the
- 52:36Speaker 1: best parts of you or show the best pictures of you.
- 52:39Speaker 1: And you know, Also, I don't know if I'm looking
- 52:42Speaker 1: on someone's profile and it's I feel like it's honest
- 52:44Speaker 1: and it said I've it says let's say it says
- 52:48Speaker 1: I don't know, I've struggled with something like I like,
- 52:52Speaker 1: I like the idea of showing a little bit of vulnerability.
- 52:55Speaker 1: But you guys know, you weigh in now you tell me.
- 52:58Speaker 3: So if I see a guy that's that strugg with anything,
- 53:00Speaker 3: I'm running, I'm like, I don't need a nut job.
- 53:02Speaker 1: No, thanks, fair enough.
- 53:05Speaker 3: I you know what's funny, because I started a dating
- 53:08Speaker 3: app called day dot com. Did Yeah, So I look
- 53:12Speaker 3: at a lot of dating apps. I researched a lot
- 53:14Speaker 3: of dating apps before, and I feel like I don't
- 53:17Speaker 3: like when guys take selfies. Like to me, when I
- 53:19Speaker 3: look at the dating apps, I'm like, I don't like
- 53:22Speaker 3: the selfies, Like I think it's cooler when guys show
- 53:24Speaker 3: their family their friends. It's more like chill, not so formal,
- 53:29Speaker 3: like not so much with the selfies or the picture
- 53:31Speaker 3: in front of the car like that to me just
- 53:33Speaker 3: looses like cheesy.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I agree with that, Like if you're like, you know.
- 53:37Speaker 3: If you're playing tennis with your friends, if you're on
- 53:40Speaker 3: a boat with your friends, like that to me is like, oh,
- 53:42Speaker 3: he's got a lot of people that like him. Okay,
- 53:45Speaker 3: so he's a good person.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Who knows people.
- 53:48Speaker 3: Yeah, them too, because I'm like, oh, he's okay, but
- 53:50Speaker 3: his friends are really cute. But I think you're just
- 53:53Speaker 3: posting photos of yourself selfies. It just gives me like
- 53:57Speaker 3: pick Like I don't I think shirtless nothing at the
- 53:59Speaker 3: jam Yeah.
- 54:00Speaker 2: No baseball caps, no sunglasses. Like I agree with Larsa too, like.
- 54:05Speaker 3: Maybe just like your parents, your siblings or your kids
- 54:09Speaker 3: or stuff like that. I'm like, oh, he's so cute.
- 54:11Speaker 3: He has like a normal family, like you know, like
- 54:14Speaker 3: that's kind of cute, like a real life your photos
- 54:17Speaker 3: you know what what you were talking about, Jen, Like
- 54:19Speaker 3: I struggle with depression.
- 54:21Speaker 1: I don't mean, you know, I wouldn't. I would also
- 54:22Speaker 1: want any of that only because I feel like all
- 54:24Speaker 1: of the profiles are so you know, you're they they
- 54:28Speaker 1: don't always feel authentic. And so when I say struggle,
- 54:31Speaker 1: I definitely don't mean like, well, right now I'm struggling
- 54:33Speaker 1: to get off Heroin, like that's probably not going to
- 54:35Speaker 1: take your lot dates right, but more like, you know,
- 54:38Speaker 1: I don't know, you know, I've struggled. I'm trying to
- 54:42Speaker 1: think of like like I've struggled with uh, I've struggled
- 54:46Speaker 1: with finding relationships that are who's putting that.
- 54:50Speaker 2: In a profile?
- 54:51Speaker 1: Maybe not Larsa.
- 54:52Speaker 2: I interview the girl who was recently divorced, and she
- 54:54Speaker 2: actually did a really good good job at being like,
- 54:57Speaker 2: very authentic to who she was, the things she likes,
- 55:00Speaker 2: things that she likes to do. She was very positive
- 55:03Speaker 2: and and her profile like just seemed so real. And
- 55:08Speaker 2: I think that that's one thing that people are like,
- 55:10Speaker 2: whichuld I say, should I you know, like I feel like, yeah,
- 55:14Speaker 2: this is always more just be like I love my
- 55:16Speaker 2: friends and family, you know whatever, Like Thanksgiving my favorite
- 55:20Speaker 2: favorite holiday, whatever it is. But I think that like
- 55:23Speaker 2: trying to lure someone in with some kind of tagline
- 55:27Speaker 2: or something I think is really like a no no zone.
- 55:30Speaker 1: What about like what they said like struggle with staying home?
- 55:34Speaker 1: I struggle with like I'm always feeling like I have
- 55:36Speaker 1: to be on the go or but I don't know,
- 55:39Speaker 1: I don't I think what I'm getting at. You're probably right.
- 55:41Speaker 1: I probably would see the word struggle. Maybe I would
- 55:43Speaker 1: run for the hills. But I'm looking for authentic, Like
- 55:46Speaker 1: everybody's got their shit.
- 55:47Speaker 2: You guys, it's called biobating.
- 55:49Speaker 3: What's that when you do that in your bio?
- 55:52Speaker 2: Biobating it's when they make their bio too good.
- 55:56Speaker 3: They have up writing. Is that what you're saying?
- 55:58Speaker 2: Yeah, their bio is like too much information about them
- 56:02Speaker 2: so that they can lure you in, so you're like, Wow,
- 56:06Speaker 2: this person is so great. I mean it's like you know,
- 56:08Speaker 2: Jen was saying too like at the beginning, like how
- 56:11Speaker 2: you know, go out and meet people because you never
- 56:13Speaker 2: know who that's going to be, what they're going to
- 56:15Speaker 2: be like, and their idiosyncrasies to you may be super
- 56:18Speaker 2: charming and to someone else, they mean may be the
- 56:20Speaker 2: ick but like you don't know, but if someone's giving
- 56:22Speaker 2: you this, like you know, Daniel Steele novel of their
- 56:27Speaker 2: their bio, I mean like how it's like difficult to
- 56:29Speaker 2: be like, oh my, oh my god, this guy's perfect.
- 56:32Speaker 1: And love you said Daniel Steele. Did you know who
- 56:35Speaker 1: that is? Larsa, I don't know how old you are.
- 56:36Speaker 1: You look you look very young. I know old Kelly
- 56:39Speaker 1: is because we're about the same. I know what Danielle
- 56:41Speaker 1: Steel is.
- 56:42Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, she's iconic romance novelist of all time,
- 56:46Speaker 2: of all time. So yeah, no biobaiting. Just I think
- 56:50Speaker 2: that just being like authentic. I mean, Larsa, you're the you.
- 56:53Speaker 2: I have love that you have this dating app, So
- 56:55Speaker 2: tell us, tell us, like, give us three things that
- 56:58Speaker 2: you think resonate.
- 56:59Speaker 3: On a on a bio for a dating app, like
- 57:02Speaker 3: I you know, like Jen said, I think someone being authentic.
- 57:05Speaker 3: I think just sharing what you're looking for and sharing
- 57:08Speaker 3: you know where you are in life. I feel like
- 57:10Speaker 3: a lot of people on dating apps are looking for
- 57:13Speaker 3: specific things. First, there's some people just looking to hook up,
- 57:17Speaker 3: There's some people just want to partner, and then there's
- 57:19Speaker 3: some people looking for a long term commitment. You know,
- 57:22Speaker 3: marriage stuff like that. So I think just being authentic
- 57:25Speaker 3: as to what you want in a relationship, what you're
- 57:27Speaker 3: looking for, you know, I don't like the mixed signal thing,
- 57:31Speaker 3: like I'm not good with that. I like people to
- 57:33Speaker 3: if you don't know what you want, I'm not going
- 57:35Speaker 3: to know you know what you want. So it's like,
- 57:38Speaker 3: just figure out what you want before you get on
- 57:39Speaker 3: dating apps and what you're looking for, and then go
- 57:42Speaker 3: on date dot com. It is basically powered by AI.
- 57:46Speaker 3: It's it eliminates getting catfished. You have to use the
- 57:49Speaker 3: camera from the actual app to upload your profile picture.
- 57:52Speaker 3: You can't use a photo that's overly edited.
- 57:55Speaker 1: That's brilliant.
- 57:56Speaker 3: Yeah, And then you can ask xt a group of
- 57:58Speaker 3: people for like, if you're talking to five guys just
- 58:01Speaker 3: getting to know them, you can send five guys the
- 58:03Speaker 3: same message like hey guys, what are your plans this weekend?
- 58:06Speaker 3: You can send multiple messages. You can FaceTime and video
- 58:10Speaker 3: call from the actual app. So a lot of times
- 58:13Speaker 3: people go on dating apps and then they're like, oh,
- 58:15Speaker 3: let's take this, let me call you or let me
- 58:16Speaker 3: text you, and it's like I'm still getting to know you.
- 58:18Speaker 3: I don't know if I want you to have my
- 58:20Speaker 3: phone number, chat and get to know each other on
- 58:24Speaker 3: the actual app, and day dot com doesn't sell it
- 58:28Speaker 3: your personal information. We don't even have your personal information.
- 58:30Speaker 3: For instance, Jen, you could be Jen sixty nine sixty nine,
- 58:34Speaker 3: you know, like you know, it's not any personal You
- 58:38Speaker 3: don't have to full name your name.
- 58:39Speaker 1: That's actually who I am, Yes, it actually is. That
- 58:42Speaker 1: would be my name on a dating app.
- 58:44Speaker 3: Like, you don't have to get all your personal information.
- 58:47Speaker 3: You can go on there and see if you like anyone.
- 58:49Speaker 3: I literally just sent all these screen shouts to my
- 58:51Speaker 3: girlfriends because they're on day dot com but they hadn't
- 58:56Speaker 3: been on in a couple of weeks, and I'm like,
- 58:57Speaker 3: oh my god, this guy's so hot. You have to
- 58:59Speaker 3: message you. Oh my god this And I was screenshotting
- 59:01Speaker 3: and sending them all these guys. I was like, these
- 59:03Speaker 3: guys are like finance guys. They're cute, they're young, and
- 59:07Speaker 3: go on the app.
- 59:09Speaker 1: Love that dot com.
- 59:11Speaker 2: Day dot Com. Okay, so she's been divorced twice and
- 59:15Speaker 2: had a shortened engagement that almost flopped. I'm over I'm
- 59:19Speaker 2: kind of over guys my own age, and I think
- 59:21Speaker 2: I should try dating ten years younger. What's the good
- 59:24Speaker 2: and the bad I should expect?
- 59:27Speaker 3: Okay, So for me, I think dating someone younger is
- 59:30Speaker 3: more fun. I think that when you're young, when you're
- 59:34Speaker 3: dating a younger guy, they don't have all the baggage
- 59:36Speaker 3: that the older guys have. The older guys are like
- 59:39Speaker 3: kind of grumpier. I think as guys get older, they
- 59:41Speaker 3: kind of get settled in their ways and they like
- 59:45Speaker 3: things done the same way every single day. You know,
- 59:48Speaker 3: that's my personal experience. But I think you get a
- 59:51Speaker 3: younger guy, they're more open to doing different things. They'll
- 59:54Speaker 3: they'll make you feel younger. You're like playing video games
- 59:57Speaker 3: like you guys. I have a video game set sitting
- 59:59Speaker 3: here because my boyfriend plays video games. Okay, So you know,
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: I think it's definitely more fun dating a younger guy,
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: for sure. So that's the positive. The negative is you
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: have to go through all the things you've learned in
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: your thirties and forties all over again. So you're kind
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: of reliving all your thirties and forties with this person,
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: and they don't have as much experience as you when
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: it comes down to all the bad things that you've experienced.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: So I'm constantly when I'm dealing with my boyfriend, I'm like,
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: and he tells me something, I'm like, you better put
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: into writing, you better, you know. I feel like i'm
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: always because I've been burned because I have years over
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: him that I feel like I have to, you know,
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: kind of go through these things with him. He trusts everyone,
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: and I'm in a place in my life where I've
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: been burned, so I don't trust everyone that I do
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: business with. I'm like, it could go bad, it could
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: go left, and so there's like a learning curve that
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: you have to help with.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I would only date older. If I was saying, oh,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: you wouldn't know, you wouldn't I would. You're saying about
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: the guy being grumpy and now wanting I'm grumpy. I
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: want to sit around. Don't try to get me to
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: do new things. I want to sit around. I want
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: to watch movies. I want to like, you know, laugh.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: I don't want any guy I'm not interested in going
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: on your motorcycle or I don't want to get out
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: of here. I want a guy who's old, who will
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: sit next to me because I'm old and leave me alone.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: I do not want that. I am I am.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: My sister sent me a picture. My sister's ten years
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: younger than me, and she sent me a picture of
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: a guy that she run into a like, because my
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: sister still lives in Chicago, where we grew up. And
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: she sent me a picture of a guy that she
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: went high school with. And I promise you, this guy
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: looked like he was thirty years older than us. And
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: I was, like, men sometimes age worse than women. We're
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: in a group of women, Like our group of women
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: take care of ourselves. We look good, we look younger,
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: you know, and it's hard to date someone that does
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: not take care of themselves like that.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: And older guys agree. I always dated older. I always
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I did too, Jen I did too.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: When I was, you know, twenty two, I married a
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: guy ten years older. And that was the the guys
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: who were older. But then when you hit a certain age,
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: you gravitate toward energy and where you are. And I
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: feel like my energy is really young, and I attract
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: young because I'm ready to do whatever or go wherever,
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: like I'd like to have fun, I like to plan things,
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: and I just feel like I gravitate toward younger, and
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: younger tends to gravitate towards me and see it.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: What about you, cal You know, I've dated so many
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: different ages. My ex husband was so much older that
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: I was. I got married when I was very young,
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: and then I dated a guy that was young, a
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: couple of guys that were younger than me. And I
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: understand what Mars is saying, like I do love because
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: I have a young spirit as well. I think I
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: have like arrested adolescens. Honestly, Like I think it's like
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: I'm like caught in like.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: My life state that way. That's good, you know what.
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: I like the way that I am. But a lot
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: of people are like, oh my god, you're so mature.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm actually not immature. I just like to
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: have a good time and I'm just very positive. So
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: I like being around. But I feel like there's no
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: age to that. And I feel like I've dated guys
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: that are younger, that are old souls. I feel like
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: I've dated guys that are older that are you know,
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: that are very young. I you know, it's like it's
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: really depends on the actual person. But I don't want
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: to teach someone something. I don't want to say, like,
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: you know, get that in writing, like I don't want
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: to do that.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: I want them to.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Say get that.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: In writing, you're saying you want them to teach you.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: You still want to learn.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Yes, I'm a curious person, learn more.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: I just think that when you date younger guys, you're
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: you're a little bit more you know, jaded as you
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: get older, Like you're you've seen, you know, situations that
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: like when you're younger, Like if I were to tell
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: my younger self, like the things I thought I knew
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: at thirty and what I know today is definitely different,
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: you know, it's definitely different.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: It's just so funny because like my kids, Like when
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: I say to my kids, they're twenty five and twenty
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, you know, he's just a couple
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: of years younger. My daughter's like, oh my god, he's
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: so young. Or I'll be like he's just a couple
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: of years older than you. He's thirty and my daughter's like,
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: what so old. I'm like, oh my god, they're like
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: so weird about age where I guess, you know, like
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: you know, we are like more open to like different ages.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: I mean, clearly, I've yeah, mary to.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: Like someone so much older, so I used to be
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: the guy that was my age, you guys, and he
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: was so immature, and I was like, when I broke
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: up with him, I was like, you know what, there's
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: a reason why I dated you, And it was literally
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: to prove that age is nothing but a number. You
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: are so immature that, like, I'm good.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: I would not like that at any age. I can't
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: outstand immaturity. But I'm telling you I am. I like
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: to move now at a slow pace, and I make
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: no apologies for it. I don't want to skydive. I'm
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: not interested in I dive.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: We're like, no one's getting on a motorcycle, no one's skydiving.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: It's just like fun dinners.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: I like fun dinners.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: You know what's interesting, my husband met him, he would
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: love him because all my friends that have husbands that
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: are older, I feel like I have younger friends and
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: then I have older friends. I'm kind of that person.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: But when I bring my boyfriend and dinners with my
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: friends who have older husbands, they are obsessed with Joff.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: They're obsessed with him. They love him, they like they
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: have great conversations.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: And it works that no doubt, because Jef is probably
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: a wonderful, warm, kind, smart man so younger older that is,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: you know definitely what I'm picturing. I don't know, Listen,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: maybe I just I am old beyond my years. I
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: think I'm eighty. Really I'm ready to go. Like I
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: look at assisted living places and I think, what's so bad?
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: I could totally do that. I could go out of
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: my little apartment and go downstairs and the meal is
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: ready and go to happy hour with the old people.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: Find me and my sister. My sister was like, oh
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: my god, do you realize we're going to be like
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: eighty and X amount of years. I'm like, well, you
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: shut the hell up. Like so, I was like, you know,
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: when we get old and our kids come over our
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: house with their kids, I'm like, shut up up, who
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: wants to hear this? My kids are not getting married,
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: They're living with me forever.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Like no, Larsa, thank you so much. Wow, you listeners
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: really sent in some great ones. Larsa was great.
