- 0:04Speaker 1: wo Well, like to bring you the smartest people on earth,
- 0:08Speaker 1: Steve Moore, the brilliant economist. Mate. Make sure you have

- 0:22Speaker 1: briefing it can get every day. It's free. It'll come

- 0:27Speaker 1: Go to Unleashed Prosperity dot com. Steve Moore, How you
- 0:31Speaker 1: doing well?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Feeling good about things? Given the what happened with the
- 0:36Speaker 2: job support yesterday, really good numbers on the economy. Economy
- 0:40Speaker 2: continues to expand, businesses are hiring again. And what I
- 0:44Speaker 2: love about the story, Mark, is that you know what
- 0:47Speaker 2: sector of the economy is shrinking?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Government?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Government? Oh good government. Yeah. So private jobs are booming,
- 0:58Speaker 2: and the and the and the government jobs are shrinking.
- 1:02Speaker 2: So we're draining the swamp in Washington. Federal employment continues
- 1:06Speaker 2: to fall, thank god. But the private sector numbers for
- 1:10Speaker 2: hiring were really good. So and by the way, wages
- 1:13Speaker 2: were up and the unemployment was down. Oh.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I don't know. I got the MSNBC on here it
- 1:20Speaker 1: says we're in a big affordability crisis at.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Yeah, do you know that the last year, the average
- 1:28Speaker 2: median family income people in the exact metal they saw
- 1:31Speaker 2: about a twenty five hundred dollars increase in their above
- 1:35Speaker 2: inflation incomes. So what I mean, Look, I get it.
- 1:39Speaker 2: People are angry about the price of beef, and they're
- 1:42Speaker 2: angry about you know, the price of coffee, and they're
- 1:44Speaker 2: angry about price of healthcare and housing. But if you
- 1:48Speaker 2: look overall, people have more money in their paychecks. And
- 1:51Speaker 2: by the way, that's partly because the big beautiful bill,
- 1:54Speaker 2: as you know, I mean, people are starting to really
- 1:57Speaker 2: feel it now because they're withholding is starting an earnest
- 2:02Speaker 2: and so that means you're going to have less money
- 2:04Speaker 2: withheld from your paycheck by the irs, which means more
- 2:08Speaker 2: money in your paycheck. Yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Hey, now, would you confirm Steve more that in the
- 2:12Speaker 1: Biden years during the Biden administration, when they head oh
- 2:14Speaker 1: a good job number, it was because the government would
- 2:17Speaker 1: go out and hire people exactly.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yes, And that's so I used to you know, as
- 2:21Speaker 2: you know, Mark, every first Friday of every month for
- 2:26Speaker 2: the last ten years. I've been doing this. You know,
- 2:30Speaker 2: the jobs report comes out on the first Pride of
- 2:32Speaker 2: over arounth although it didn't this time. It came out
- 2:34Speaker 2: on Wednesday because of the government shutdown and they've been
- 2:36Speaker 2: delate late in getting the data out. But nonetheless, during
- 2:41Speaker 2: the Biden years, you know, we get these jobs numbers,
- 2:43Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty thousand jobs created, Yay, hooray, and
- 2:46Speaker 2: then you look at the numbers and it's like one
- 2:47Speaker 2: hundred thousand more government shops. You know, So we were
- 2:50Speaker 2: increasing government jobs and we were not seeing much grain
- 2:54Speaker 2: gain at all on five effector. And what we've done,
- 2:56Speaker 2: we've seen now is a reset where we're now shrinking
- 2:59Speaker 2: the government in increasing pivate sector jobs, which is exactly
- 3:02Speaker 2: what we want unless you're a government employee.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's a much healthier way to run the economy. Yes. Hey,
- 3:09Speaker 1: the CEO of Ford yesterday puts out all these numbers
- 3:13Speaker 1: electric car electric vehicle sales was so bad it brought
- 3:17Speaker 1: down the whole bottom line of the company, and he said,
- 3:20Speaker 1: the customer has spoken. So what do we conclude from that?
- 3:26Speaker 2: Well, that's an interesting thing because you know, one of
- 3:29Speaker 2: the reasons that you know, basically under the Biden years,
- 3:32Speaker 2: they were trying to force feed people to buy to
- 3:35Speaker 2: buy electric vehicles with mandates and you had to buy them,
- 3:38Speaker 2: and then all the subsidies to build them, et cetera,
- 3:41Speaker 2: et cetera, et cetera, and a lot of the big
- 3:43Speaker 2: auto manufacturers they bought into it. Oh yeah, let's build
- 3:46Speaker 2: all these these electric vehicles. And by the way, I'm
- 3:50Speaker 2: not against electric vehicles. I was just against by enforcing
- 3:53Speaker 2: people to buy electric vehicles. And so what's happened now
- 3:56Speaker 2: is there's been uh, you know, people have kind of
- 3:59Speaker 2: revolted against that, and for many reasons. People say, you know,
- 4:04Speaker 2: we don't want electric fical. By the way, I have
- 4:05Speaker 2: a hybrid and I love it, so you know, I'm
- 4:08Speaker 2: not against the batteries. But I also want to know,
- 4:11Speaker 2: I want to make sure I don't run out of
- 4:13Speaker 2: you know, get a mountain and then don't have any
- 4:16Speaker 2: juice left in my battery. So the point is that
- 4:20Speaker 2: I always have said this that you know, people when
- 4:23Speaker 2: it comes to their cars, people want to choose themselves.
- 4:25Speaker 2: They don't want the government to choose the car for them.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Because we have a love affair with our cars in
- 4:29Speaker 2: America and Trump, I mean, Biden didn't seem to understand that.
- 4:33Speaker 2: And the more he tried to force people to buy
- 4:34Speaker 2: electric vehicles, the more people have revolted against buying them.
- 4:38Speaker 2: And so now you've got this huge surf plus of
- 4:40Speaker 2: electric vehicles that nobody wants to buy.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, we just had a weekend here where
- 4:44Speaker 1: it was like ten below zero. Your electric car doesn't
- 4:46Speaker 1: work when it's the.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Exactly that's exactly right. So this is a problem with
- 4:52Speaker 2: evs is that they're not going to start when the
- 4:55Speaker 2: temperature gets, you know, below ten degrees. And by the way,
- 4:58Speaker 2: in Washingt d C. Southern City, we you know, the
- 5:01Speaker 2: temperature for the last twenty days has been below ten degrees,
- 5:05Speaker 2: so you know, then you can't get out of your driveway.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey, we're talking earlier about budgets. You know, the
- 5:11Speaker 1: budget in New York is ridiculous. It's like one hundred
- 5:13Speaker 1: and twenty billion. New York States budget is double that
- 5:16Speaker 1: of Florida, even though we have less people. This is
- 5:19Speaker 1: all from contracts they hand out where we overpay by
- 5:22Speaker 1: ten million percent for everything we do in the government.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Politicians like handing out those contracts. Is there anything we
- 5:28Speaker 1: could ever do to fix this?
- 5:32Speaker 2: Well, what's going on the big story of America is
- 5:36Speaker 2: that these blue cities and blue states are just dying.
- 5:38Speaker 2: They're dying. And you know it's because I was in
- 5:41Speaker 2: New York earlier this week and talking a lot of
- 5:44Speaker 2: people in New York City, and they were frustrated because Mandonie,
- 5:49Speaker 2: you know, hadn't even cleared away the snow. The garbage
- 5:52Speaker 2: wasn't being collected. And I don't care what your ideology,
- 5:55Speaker 2: I don't care if you're left right center, whatever you are,
- 5:57Speaker 2: libertarian socialists. Everybody wants the public services to work. And
- 6:02Speaker 2: yet Mandamie has proven in just this first one thirty
- 6:06Speaker 2: five days in office he has no idea what he's doing.
- 6:09Speaker 2: You think it's it's not even the ideology, it's incompetence.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's unbelievable. Hey, we were talked at this before too.
- 6:16Speaker 1: You know they have this jock tax if you play football,
- 6:20Speaker 1: even if it's the Super Bowl. Yeah, the guy one
- 6:23Speaker 1: hundred and seventy thousand for playing the Super Bowl and
- 6:25Speaker 1: his taxes were like two hundred and eighty thousand. How
- 6:27Speaker 1: is that?
- 6:28Speaker 2: How is that even legal? The taxi more than well,
- 6:31Speaker 2: I know, and that these are the jock taxes. You
- 6:34Speaker 2: have to pay an income tax if you play, you know,
- 6:36Speaker 2: a game in a in a state that has eye
- 6:40Speaker 2: income tax, and so, uh, the you're right. So now
- 6:45Speaker 2: they're saying, well, we're gonna move. We're not going to
- 6:47Speaker 2: play the world the super Bowl in these places with
- 6:50Speaker 2: high tax anymore because the players can't afford it. And
- 6:53Speaker 2: by the way, a lot of the players don't want
- 6:54Speaker 2: to even play on teams you know that are located
- 6:57Speaker 2: in blue station in cities like you know, so that's
- 7:00Speaker 2: a big tax on getting a winning team back in
- 7:03Speaker 2: New York.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, but you're right. You know, we pay the
- 7:06Speaker 1: highest taxes in the world in New York City. And
- 7:07Speaker 1: they can't even shovel snow, but.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Shouldn't there be a And they can't collect the garbage.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I saw that, everybody, I think you've probably seen it. It
- 7:17Speaker 2: went viral on the internet of the rabbi out there
- 7:20Speaker 2: helping the garage put the garbage in the truck because too,
- 7:27Speaker 2: I mean, you know, he's supposed to be this brilliant
- 7:29Speaker 2: big thinker. He can't even get the garverage collected off
- 7:32Speaker 2: the street. I mean, I laugh at that, but it
- 7:34Speaker 2: just shows, you know, I would think Mondommie would say, look,
- 7:38Speaker 2: let me go around the city and give these speeches
- 7:41Speaker 2: and about how great socialism, but put somebody in charge
- 7:44Speaker 2: who knows what they're doing and how to run something.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey, in the next month or two, everybody will
- 7:49Speaker 1: start paying their taxes, doing their taxes for the year.
- 7:51Speaker 1: What's going to be the difference now with the big
- 7:53Speaker 1: beautiful bill.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Well, people are gonna save a lot in terms of
- 7:58Speaker 2: the the withho the going to pay a smaller tax
- 8:02Speaker 2: bill than they did last year. And I don't know
- 8:05Speaker 2: the exact numbers, but on average it's about one thousand
- 8:08Speaker 2: dollars saving. And it was just so ironic because all
- 8:11Speaker 2: the Democrats talk about is affordability, affordability, yet every one
- 8:15Speaker 2: of them voted against the tax cut.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And inflation. We're doing well, and what do you think
- 8:22Speaker 1: give us a growth forecast, a growth number for the rest.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Of the Oh, I'm going to give you the number
- 8:26Speaker 2: that Donald Trump gave. We're going to grow by fifteen percent.
- 8:31Speaker 2: By the way, I love that about Trump, don't you. Mark?
- 8:33Speaker 2: And I know you're close to Trump, and I talked
- 8:35Speaker 2: him about but you know he shoots for the movie.
- 8:37Speaker 2: He told Larry Cudlow, you know we're gonna get fifteen
- 8:40Speaker 2: percent growth, because Larry said, do you think we can
- 8:42Speaker 2: get five percent growth? And he said fifty percent? Well,
- 8:45Speaker 2: which would be like but but you know what, he
- 8:47Speaker 2: also said the same thing when you know when the
- 8:49Speaker 2: Dow Jones hit fifty thousand a couple of days ago.
- 8:52Speaker 2: By the way, when I first came to Washington forty
- 8:53Speaker 2: years ago, that that was at one thousand. Now it's
- 8:55Speaker 2: at fifty thousand. But the Trump said, you know, by
- 9:00Speaker 2: the time I leave office, and we don't know when
- 9:02Speaker 2: that's going to be. The time I leave office, we're
- 9:05Speaker 2: gonna have now one hundred thousand.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So I love it.
- 9:08Speaker 2: I love his optimism. I love that he shoots for
- 9:10Speaker 2: the mode.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a great, great philosophy, great way to live too. Well,
