- 1:59So anyways, onward we're gonna talk about special variance.
- 2:03And the reason I wanted to touch on this is Ferrari just dropped the 2 9 6
- 2:08Speciale, obviously how Ferrari works in their model line up the 2, 9 6 was
- 2:13supposed to be like a Dino type deal at entry level, at half a million dollars
- 2:17entry level, and you had your SF 90, then you got obviously into your other, you
- 2:22know, your V twelves and stuff like that.
- 2:24They didn't come out with a variant in the.
- 2:26Middle model, I guess you could say, as they've done in the past, you know?
- 2:31So we're gonna go through that and work our way up to the 2 9 6.
- 2:34'cause I will say it's, they did a fantastic job and I wanna say I
- 2:37think the 2 9 6 is kind of flying under the radar regards to value
- 2:42and excitement and enjoyment.
- 2:44It's a great car.
- 2:45It is wickedly fast.
- 2:46I mean it is.
- 2:47Awesome.
- 2:48I got a ride in one a little while back and uh, wanted to drive
- 2:52it, but I wasn't gonna push it.
- 2:53But hey, I got a quick ride in it.
- 2:55It wasn't anything crazy, but unbelievable car.
- 2:57It's great.
- 2:58It kind of got me on the bandwagon in those cars, but it wasn't
- 3:01as aligned as the SF 90 is on electric and stuff like that.
- 3:06But anyways, we'll get to that.
- 3:07So we are going to start.
- 3:09Out in the beginning, Ferrari making these race car road variant
- 3:14models that a person could, can get, still buy used, what have you.
- 3:20First one, it was a conversion kit.
- 3:22This was for the 3 48 challenge.
- 3:25Ferrari to kind of boost its image and kind of, you know, draw up more interest.
- 3:29You know, they came up with the idea, let's have a one make race
- 3:31series for our owners and what have you, and it's been very successful.
- 3:36I will give you that.
- 3:37And it's great racing too.
- 3:38You got some guys that are pros in there, but majority, almost 90, 95%
- 3:41of the guys running that are just amateurs that got a lot of money.
- 3:44So the first variant they came out with was a 3 48 challenge.
- 3:48It was a kit that the dealer installed for someone that wanted to.
- 3:52Put it on and go racing.
- 3:53Prior, the factory did some themselves as well, but there was just a kit
- 3:57that they could buy and basically they didn't really do any motor
- 4:01upgrades or anything like that.
- 4:02It was more along the lines of safety equipment, reducing weight,
- 4:05stripping stuff out, giving some race seats, everything like that,
- 4:08fire extinguishers, that kinda stuff.
- 4:09Front toe hook, anything like that.
- 4:11So they really did not.
- 4:13Do anything crazy with it.
- 4:14It was more just to kind of lighten it up and tighten it up, go racing
- 4:18and like you said, to could get it installed at their local dealership
- 4:20and get it there and go racing.
- 4:22So, but that was basically the first one.
- 4:24Now you do see people taking notes.
- 4:26'cause that was the one thing about it is you could revert the car back.
- 4:30To basically road legal version, but you're not really doing all that much to
- 4:34it, to really all also make this thing, hey, it's not street legal anymore.
- 4:37'cause you weren't like taking the, you know, headers off or
- 4:39doing anything crazy on this car.
- 4:41You got people running challenge cars, driving 'em on the street.
- 4:43You just slap the license plate on it.
- 4:44So, I mean, there really wasn't much to that, you know, and
- 4:483, 4, 8 gets a lot of hate.
- 4:49Kind of one of those odd models.
- 4:51They took the uh, side strikes, you know, kind of copying off the test.
- 4:55Then Luca Dilo, however you pronounce his last name, came on board during that.
- 5:00And um, he didn't have much involvement in the 3, 4, 8, but the next one where
- 5:06he did have the 3 5 5, which is one of my favorite Ferraris, it's a great car.
- 5:12It's just, it's small.
- 5:13It's got that V eight.
- 5:14You put the right headers and pipe on it.
- 5:16Oh my God, this, that thing sounds fantastic.
- 5:19Kind of almost along the same lines as a 3, 4, 8.
- 5:22There's a 3 5, 5.
- 5:23Challenge that was built.
- 5:25Now this was built directly from the factory because they changed
- 5:28a lot of stuff in regards to roll cage, bucket seats, the safety
- 5:31harness, fire extinguisher, engine cutoff, radio controls, a different
- 5:35steering wheel, lightweight exhaust, rear wing competition, clutch.
- 5:38They pulled the brakes from the F 40.
- 5:41Put those brembos on there as well.
- 5:4318 inch wheels and slick, solid suspension bushings, all that kind of stuff.
- 5:47Change some aesthetics.
- 5:48Perfect.
- 5:49You know, black grill, that kind of stuff, and just lighten it
- 5:51up and everything like that.
- 5:52They only built about 108 of those.
- 5:55Here's the thing, depends when you ask, there's probably over
- 5:58300 cards that were converted.
- 6:00People could buy the stuff and get it done themselves, but there were
- 6:03108 that were built by the factory.
- 6:05But like I said, there's probably over 300 of 'em out there roaming the world that
- 6:08were just done with the conversion kit.
- 6:10I have no idea.
- 6:11But again, once you went that thing, that car obviously
- 6:14racetrack only, not road legal.
- 6:17I'm sure there are people out there that did what they had to do and
- 6:20modified it to make it road legal.
- 6:23You know, the things that are on there though in regards to the clutch and all
- 6:26that kind of stuff, but make it pretty sketchy to try and drive on the street.
- 6:29'cause probably fry the clutch in a minute.
- 6:31Obviously you're not gonna run slicks on the street, stuff like that.
- 6:33So.
- 6:34It just makes for a very, very, very harsh ride if you didn't change a few things.
- 6:38But you know, it's that cool.
- 6:39Look, people all say, oh, it's a race car for the street.
- 6:41You know, everyone's always going for, so there's a lot of guys out there that,
- 6:44you know, run all those items on there.
- 6:46They change up the grill, that kind of stuff to give it that look.
- 6:49Now, here's the one thing though, in Europe over here as well, I'm sorry,
- 6:54you could get the ano handling package, which gave you a little bit wider.
- 6:59Front track, stiffer springs, thicker anti-roll bar drilled and ventilated.
- 7:04Brakes, competition, challenge, whatever source, steering, rack,
- 7:08challenge grills and stuff like that.
- 7:09The Ferrari shields, you know, you got your carbon fiber insert, stuff like that.
- 7:13So you cover seats and that's when that F1 transmission started coming in.
- 7:17Everyone was, oh, 'cause it's the cool new thing.
- 7:18So people are like, well I wanna get that F1 flappy paddle transmission.
- 7:22So sadly, out of the a hundred cars that were delivered to the US market,
- 7:2774 had that F1 paddle shift transmission with only 26 having a six speed manual.
- 7:32Obviously the six speed manual cars are probably about $300,000.
- 7:37Now, if it's gonna have the fear auto handle, it's a
- 7:39rare car, rare package on it.
- 7:41I mean, it could be more, I mean, especially if you got low miles,
- 7:43everything like that, and colored combo, the whole nine yards.
- 7:45Not to say you couldn't do a, a swap on the F1 tra ones that were
- 7:49done, but I mean, then you're kind of defeating the purpose because
- 7:52you have a limited edition model.
- 7:54Like I said, that was a fiorano.
- 7:55But now in Europe, you could get in the last year, three, five.
- 7:58Five was a fiorano handling pack that says Europe only.
- 8:01So, I mean, you could import these things.
- 8:02Now, obviously it didn't affect all that many cars that were done 'cause
- 8:06of last year, everything like that.
- 8:07But, uh, Fiorano is the one you want to get, but obviously, again,
- 8:10you go talk about the challenge.
- 8:12You know, that was the race car.
- 8:13So again, building these first two was along the lines.
- 8:16Okay, it's basically making a really cool car.
- 8:19But then they realized, hey, there's a market for a road
- 8:22going race version of these cars.
- 8:25People really want it.
- 8:25'cause again, you know, majority people get these cars, they
- 8:28drive 'em on the weekends.
- 8:29They're not like doing cross country jaunts or anything like that, but
- 8:31they want to have that feeling.
- 8:32So they go out on a Sunday drive.
- 8:34And everything like that.
- 8:35So they saw the market and they kind of started tapping into it a bit and
- 8:40went from there with it on the 3 55.
- 8:42Got a little more serious spot.
- 8:43Now the 360, the next model was a huge jump in regards to performance,
- 8:49everything like that from the 3 55 to the 360 aesthetic wise, you know,
- 8:53aluminum, everything like that.
- 8:54It was a big, big jump.
- 8:56Flappy paddle gearbox started becoming a little more prevalent
- 8:59in regards to production numbers.
- 9:01You wanted to get the challenge strad built by the factory going
- 9:06out, but that was a road going car.
- 9:08'cause this is when Ferri started doing the race series and these
- 9:10things were race car specific.
- 9:12They made them serious race cars.
- 9:13It wasn't just making a couple changes to a road going version.
- 9:17And there you go.
- 9:18They were making hardcore race cars that by now for the Ferrari race series.
- 9:22But what they did with the challenge to Dolly.
- 9:24Is they tweaked, obviously, aesthetic wise, better breathing.
- 9:28They increased the horsepower up to 425 horsepower, dropped a weight by a
- 9:33decent amount, flappy paddle gear basket.
- 9:35You couldn't get a manual even though you could order a 360 with the factory manual.
- 9:39You couldn't get the challenge through all in a manual.
- 9:41Now you could do a swap on these as well, but the gearbox, they tweaked
- 9:47it so it's faster gear changes.
- 9:49That was kind of the one thing about the first generations of the F1, 'cause all
- 9:52it was, is basically hydraulic system attached to a standard manual training.
- 9:59It, it wasn't like a dual clutch.
- 10:00So everything like that, it wasn't really designed to do it that way.
- 10:03They just modified the existing transmission to be able to do it
- 10:07where you had the flappy pallets.
- 10:08But you know the system they using, they improved it that way And, and
- 10:11what's interesting, I haven't heard or seen many people that have taken a
- 10:15challenge and done a manual conversion.
- 10:18I know they're out there.
- 10:18I know people have done it.
- 10:19That would be my route.
- 10:20That's what I would do.
- 10:21I'd get the challenge, swap it, put in a manual transmission in it and have at it.
- 10:25You know, why not?
- 10:26I mean, you could even do is just buy a whole transmission, pull out that
- 10:30one one and just swap that one in.
- 10:32That would be cool.
- 10:33But.
- 10:33There's only about a little over a 1200 challenge modalities produced.
- 10:37Rare, yes.
- 10:38Rare.
- 10:39No, I mean, it is, you know, that's quite a few cars, but you know, it's gaining
- 10:43popularity in regards to getting, I mean, obviously the 360 is a popular car.
- 10:47It's a great, I wanna say entry level.
- 10:49'cause now you got the 3, 5, 5 with the manual gearbox going
- 10:52through the roof, so to speak.
- 10:54They're more expensive than a. 360 manual is now, which is kinda odd.
- 10:58You think it'd be the other way around.
- 10:59But right now in the market, that's the where things are going.
- 11:01But in the next couple months, things could completely change 'cause of
- 11:04the what's going on in the world.
- 11:06And here in America, you will just leave it as that.
- 11:08I'm not gonna get political, you know?
- 11:09So the 360, obviously it's a great car to get into.
- 11:12You can still work on that car yourself.
- 11:15Majority of it, really not much.
- 11:16You can't do yourself if you know how to turn a wrench and if you
- 11:19can't figure somebody, look on YouTube, someone's probably done it.
- 11:22You can get it figured out.
- 11:22So that's what's great about those cars that they're very, I don't
- 11:25wanna say simplistic, but you don't have computers running everything.
- 11:29You don't have like massive amount of electronics in the car.
- 11:31So you can still do these things yourself.
- 11:33I mean, you can technically almost do swap yourself if you want to go into a manual.
- 11:37I wouldn't recommend it.
- 11:38I would spend the money, send it to a shop because you gotta get the, uh,
- 11:41computer flashed, all that kinda stuff to understand that hey, now you, it's
- 11:44a manual gearbox, everything like that.
- 11:46But the challenge should all, is really kind of gaining momentum
- 11:50out there in the marketplace.
- 11:51People, I don't wanna say all of a sudden realizing or coming
- 11:54that fact, but it's a great car.
- 11:56I mean, it's a really great card.
- 11:57I mean they sound beautiful.
- 11:59You put, you know, pipes on that, some headers, they just scream.
- 12:02It's an awesome, awesome card.
- 12:04I don't wanna say inexpensive to run, but you know, you still have
- 12:06the scenario where you got the belts.
- 12:08You gotta pull the motor.
- 12:09Now if you know what you're doing, you really don't have to pull the
- 12:11whole motor out to do your belts.
- 12:12But you know, it makes it easier 'cause.
- 12:14Normally when you do the belts, you're gonna be a lot of other things that
- 12:17you're gonna wanna change anyways 'cause just 'cause of wear and tear on the car.
- 12:20So it's kind of just, you know, preventative maintenance type situation.
- 12:23So that's what I recommend.
- 12:24Next step up, we're gonna go into probably one of my, again, more
- 12:27favorite models is a four 30 scud.
- 12:30We're taking, you know, the race car variance.
- 12:33Out of this equation.
- 12:34'cause we're talking about the road going cars, but you know, obviously they had
- 12:36the four 30 race cars challenged GT three, GT, you know C, all that kind of stuff.
- 12:41Those were built specific race cars only.
- 12:43You were not gonna change those into street cars.
- 12:45I mean, push comes to shove.
- 12:47I'm sure you could, but it just, it would be not fun to drive it on the street.
- 12:50So we are talking about the road going special versions.
- 12:54The ones that you run to kinda hunt down four 30 F1 tranny cars were more prevalent
- 12:59in production than the six speed manuals.
- 13:01You know, out in the marketplace, a four 30 factory manual car.
- 13:05You know, it's kinda hard to save value wise 'cause people are asking stupid
- 13:08numbers but they're not getting 'em.
- 13:09I've seen several cars that have been sitting for months, months at a dealership
- 13:15'cause they're just asking stupid money.
- 13:17And they're slowly coming down.
- 13:19There's one sitting out there that's yellow block.
- 13:21It's got high, higher miles.
- 13:23It's almost 50,000 miles on the car, and I think they've
- 13:26had this car for over a year.
- 13:27Now they're down at like two 30, I think now 230,000, something like
- 13:31that, which isn't too bad, but I mean, I think that's maybe 175,000 car with
- 13:35that mileage, everything like that.
- 13:37It is a factor, male.
- 13:38It is a. Factory, yellow car.
- 13:40Some of these dealers, there's another one up there in Northeast that, you
- 13:42know, he gets his hands on quite a few, but he was asking half a mill for
- 13:45some of these and he's had 'em forever.
- 13:47So, factory manual cars are stupidly expensive, or I should say
- 13:51stupidly priced out in the market.
- 13:52Now, not to say that's what they're going for.
- 13:54Again, market adjustments.
- 13:56But the problem is you got a dealer, he's got X dollars into it.
- 13:58He's not gonna take a loss, so he'll just sit on the car.
- 14:01'cause at some point in time it'll come back to them.
- 14:03Dollar wise, in regards to value, you know what you can
- 14:06sell it for, but you never know.
- 14:08So, but anyways, we are talking about a four 30 scud.
- 14:11This car is probably.
- 14:13Next to the one we're gonna talk about next in the 4, 5, 8 speciality.
- 14:17The four 30 scud is a fabulous, fabulous car.
- 14:22Again, it is.
- 14:23Got the flat paddle transmission on it, but they've got this thing dialed in.
- 14:28It's kind of that point.
- 14:29It's like, yeah, I know people have swapped in a six speed manual
- 14:32into a scud, and it's been awesome.
- 14:34It's probably what I would do be I'd buy a higher mileage, one swap in the manual.
- 14:38Have some fun.
- 14:39Everything about the car's tightened up.
- 14:42They've done some fantastic things with just everything.
- 14:45Increase the horsepower or do some weight.
- 14:47It's just a fabulous, fabulous car if you ever get the opportunity to
- 14:51drive on, I highly recommended it.
- 14:53It's fantastic.
- 14:53Can't talk much about it now, and here's what we get into now.
- 14:56All of a sudden, they also do you have the the 16 m. That the four 30 could get in.
- 15:01And that was basically just the convertible version of the scud.
- 15:04So that was kind of a new variant in regards to coming out with these road
- 15:09going race car variants of the car.
- 15:11So now all of a sudden you could get a convertible because there's demand.
- 15:14There was the demand for it.
- 15:15So they got 'em out there and they built a few of 'em.
- 15:18Those things are crazy money out in the market 'cause they
- 15:21are just a very, very rare car.
- 15:23They only did about 500 of 'em were built.
- 15:26Getting your hands on one, you're probably in the.
- 15:28Oh, God, I don't know.
- 15:29I, I hate to put a number on it.
- 15:30Three quarter of a mill, easily, 500 to three quarter of a million, depending on
- 15:34options, colors, everything like that.
- 15:35I mean, they're not cheap, but that four 30 scud is a, it's an awesome car.
- 15:40It is an awesome car.
- 15:42My garage, I love to have, I would do a 3 5 5 factory manual.
- 15:47I would do a four 30 factory man within a four 30 scud.
- 15:51With the manual swap, something along those lines or kind of vice versa.
- 15:54I know, I, I don't know.
- 15:55I do something along those lines with the four 30.
- 15:57I definitely have a four 30 and the stable, and then a, the next car
- 16:00we're talk about a 4, 5, 8 speciale.
- 16:01The, I, I think those would be the three that pop in there.
- 16:04Well, William, I mean those are all just, you know, eight selling the cars.
- 16:07I mean, how different are, they're very, very different cars.
- 16:09Totally different driving experiences between them.
- 16:12You know, it's just a great car.
- 16:13But the four 30 scud.
- 16:15You could drive that car, you know, a lot.
- 16:17You could almost say daily.
- 16:18It pretty much you could, you know, but it's a great, great car.
- 16:21I mean, again, if you ever get the opportunity to drive
- 16:23one, definitely take it.
- 16:24Even if you just puts it around and you can't go more than 30 miles an hour.
- 16:27It's a great car.
- 16:28I mean, it's just, it's obviously the pinnacle of the four 30 production.
- 16:31Borrowing all the the 16 M as well.
- 16:34But I mean it's just, it's a great car.
- 16:36If you had really deep pockets, you get two scuds, one you keep with the
- 16:40flappy paddle and another one you do a manual swap on it and have some fun.
- 16:43Now I know old Freddy VARs down there, he took the reco and had it with the scud.
- 16:47He put that six speed man, and he absolutely loves it.
- 16:49He did a knockout job with that.
- 16:51That's fantastic.
- 16:52I wanna give a shout out if you are looking to get
- 16:54that done for a manual swap.
- 16:56I know everyone says E-A-G-A-G, you know?
- 16:58Yeah.
- 16:58They make the opponents, but there's a couple other entities out there
- 17:00that also make the kit and talk to the guys at Ray Hall Performance.
- 17:04They're getting into that.
- 17:05I know when, uh, I visited them last year and did a tour.
- 17:09Everything like that, they are getting into doing that.
- 17:12I would highly recommend, especially if we're in this area, you know, EA G's
- 17:15backed up, but hey, I mean, like I said, there's other places you can do it, but.
- 17:18I would definitely give the guys at Ray Hall Performance a shout out.
- 17:21If you're looking at wanting a manual swap done on any of your Ferraris,
- 17:24they would be a great shop to go.
- 17:26Now, the next one that everyone is talking about that is just going for crazy
- 17:32dollars and everyone's opinion is the last great mid engine Ferrari, naturally
- 17:38aspirated Ferrari into 4, 5, 8 Speciale.
- 17:40The apparent version of it as well.
- 17:42Normal aspirated V eight screamed, and this thing sounds so good.
- 17:47You put the right, especially headers and pipes on this thing.
- 17:50Oh my God.
- 17:50And they're just going up in value, you know, they're just fantastic cars.
- 17:55Again, this is, if you ever have the opportunity to drive a 4, 5, 8 especially,
- 17:58I'll definitely do it because you're like, oh my God, this car's spectacular.
- 18:01It is basically the four 30, obviously new body that, but it's just so refined.
- 18:06It's, I mean, they just nailed it with that car.
- 18:09Absolutely spectacular.
- 18:11If you only get one.
- 18:12I would recommend, depending on your bank account, I'm a manual guy, so it's
- 18:17like, you know that 4, 5, 8 Speciale is just a very, very special car.
- 18:22Yeah.
- 18:23So again, they tighten everything up, more horsepower, a little more torque, flappy
- 18:27pallet transmission, just unbelievable.
- 18:29Zero to 60 and under three seconds.
- 18:31It's just got everything.
- 18:32And again, it's a comfort of car that you could drive that thing across country.
- 18:35You know, you could daily that car, do everything that,
- 18:37I mean, it's just awesome.
- 18:38Awesome car they.
- 18:40Really got everything put together.
- 18:42You know, before they had to switch over to what we're talking about next.
- 18:46You know, going into the turbos and stuff like that, 'cause of
- 18:48emissions and everything like that.
- 18:49It was just something that they had to do.
- 18:51Hands were tied in regards to, you know, environmental
- 18:53regulations and stuff like that.
- 18:55So it sucks, but it is what it is.
- 18:57So, 'cause we go into the next model, the 4 88 p stop.
- 19:01This is actually starting to gain in the marketplace in regards to
- 19:05value, obviously go turbocharge.
- 19:08The cars are gorgeous looking, there's no doubt about that.
- 19:10Got that scoop in the front, gorgeous, gorgeous car.
- 19:13They also made a convertible version of the 4 8 8 P stuff.
- 19:16They borrowed a lot of stuff from the challenge.
- 19:18Increased the horsepower to 720 horsepower, seven 10, depending
- 19:22on how you look at the numbers.
- 19:23But anyways, this was definitely heavy, heavy influence from the challenge
- 19:27race car versions of this car.
- 19:29That's where the one, the scoop in the front comes on.
- 19:31I driven four eight, but I've never driven a pizza.
- 19:33Great car.
- 19:34I mean, it's gorgeous looking.
- 19:35And again, these are starting to gain value in the marketplace.
- 19:39It's still a good value right now because it's kind of overlooked.
- 19:42'cause everyone's going after the 4, 5, 8, especially out, you know, this
- 19:45is one, if you're looking to have a car, you wanna keep it long term.
- 19:47Obviously you can jump into 4, 5, 8, especially out, that's,
- 19:50that'd be a great buy for it.
- 19:51'cause that's just gonna gain a value no matter what.
- 19:53And I think it'll gain faster than the four eight.
- 19:55Well.
- 19:56You got good solid money on a 4 8 8 pizza.
- 19:58I think it's one of those ones.
- 19:59Obviously you're gonna have your yearly maintenance costs, but I think it's
- 20:03one where if you bought it now and in five years you sold it from what you
- 20:07paid for it, minus obviously you have your maintenance costs and running
- 20:10costs throughout those five years.
- 20:12So, I mean that's money.
- 20:13Just, hey, that's gone because hey, it is price of admission, so to speak.
- 20:16I think you will get it back, which paid for it, if not even making
- 20:19some money and on where things go.
- 20:21So beautiful, beautiful car, you know, really leaning heavily on the
- 20:26race cars, pulling stuff from that.
- 20:28And then, you know, we get into the next model, which is the F eight tribu.
- 20:32It has the same engine on the four 80 p stuff.
- 20:35Bodies tweaked, obviously tickled with the flappy paddle gearbox.
- 20:39It's got a lot more hor, you know, not a lot more, but you know,
- 20:42it is got a bit more horsepower.
- 20:45It got the latest side slip, angle control stuff, you know, all the electronic
- 20:48nanny aids and all this kind of stuff.
- 20:50You know, it's, it is a great looking car.
- 20:52F eights are kind of flying under the radar too.
- 20:55I think it's a great car.
- 20:57Especially, you know, they came out with the SF 90, I think the SF 90.
- 21:00Really people are losing their ass on that car.
- 21:03Hundreds of thousands of dollars spending all this money.
- 21:06'cause they had to, you know, buy that to and other things to be able to
- 21:09get in line to buy something special.
- 21:10So I think these earlier cars are really gaining more value in people
- 21:15wanting to get their hands on them.
- 21:17The F eight tribu again, I think you'd have to go out and look at the
- 21:20numbers, but you know, obviously I think you're gonna get a 4 8, 8 piece
- 21:24there before you get an F eight maybe.
- 21:26You know, looking at the car itself, I think the 4 8 8 piece has
- 21:29got a more aggressive look to it.
- 21:30I think it looks better now.
- 21:33We are gonna go into what.
- 21:34Ferrari just came out with, and that is a 2 9 6 Speciale.
- 21:39I wanna say they did a hell of a job with this.
- 21:41Here's the one thing on these cars, obviously, you know, they have
- 21:44race car for the race series and for the endurance race and stuff
- 21:47like that, they went down to 2 9 6.
- 21:49So that's a car that's race.
- 21:50So it makes sense is what you want.
- 21:51But again.
- 21:52It's supposed to be the entry level, but you know, you get in the specialty
- 21:55and be, you know, and especially when we tack on everything, the whole nine yards.
- 21:58It, it, it's a great looking car.
- 22:00People have been driving since, it's unbelievable.
- 22:02It's got over 800 horsepower from that V six rear wheel drive, so, you know,
- 22:06not four wheel drive, so you don't have all this added weight in the front.
- 22:09And the settle fi Ronald package, which I'm sure everybody will tick off
- 22:14on the order box, is over 40 grand.
- 22:16You know, you wanna carbon front wheels another 34 grand.
- 22:18I mean, these things are not cheap.
- 22:20What you are getting out of this in regards to a V six A horsepower,
- 22:24everything like that, it's unbelievable.
- 22:26You know, shaving some weight and obviously it's sold out.
- 22:28That's no brainer there.
- 22:30They did a really, really good job.
- 22:31But again, you know, what they started doing more along the lines is, you
- 22:34know, they made it more obviously.
- 22:36A road variant as compared to, you know, how they did it in the past,
- 22:41you know, like they deal with the SF 90 xx, you know, all the XX
- 22:45cars prior were just track only.
- 22:46Now they made that, you know, you can drive down the road, but you know,
- 22:49these cars are getting priced just obscenely, but they're sell out.
- 22:53People are buying them.
- 22:53I like that.
- 22:54It, this is a great car is, like I said, you're not really dealing
- 22:57with a lot of the stumped SF 90 has.
- 23:00It's not bloated.
- 23:01I would love to be able to get my hands on one of these and drive
- 23:03it just to feel what it's like.
- 23:05It's getting very good accolades.
- 23:06It's like this is what the SF 90 should have been.
- 23:09So it'd be interesting to see, 'cause obviously the SF ninety's not being,
- 23:12they're not producing anymore, right?
- 23:14I dunno.
- 23:14I've heard different things.
- 23:15They are, they're not, whatever.
- 23:16I don't know.
- 23:16It's just, I'm not a fan at all of the SF 90, so I really don't follow it.
- 23:20Not my, my niche.
- 23:22But anyways, like I said, this 2 9 6 is gorgeous.
- 23:25I can't wait to see one.
- 23:25He is in person.
- 23:26It's an absolute beautiful car.
- 23:28That's your little walk down history there with the uh, V eight mid-engine
- 23:32special version cars that Ferrari's put out throughout the years.
- 23:36Some really, really special cars they've created.
- 23:38Like I said, in my mind, the 4, 5 8 Speciale would be at the top of the list.
- 23:44Then you're gonna go to the four 30 scud and then after that, well,
- 23:47I'm a fan of the 3 5 5, so I would go after 3 5, 5 somehow some way
- 23:51obviously, because that's manual.
- 23:53Straight out.
- 23:54The 360 child.
- 23:55He is supposed to be great, but.
- 23:56If I'm gonna have get a four 30 scud, why would I do that?
- 23:59You know, the only thing I'd have for is to swap in a manual into it.
- 24:02So it was like if I was able to get those other, I'd buy the 360 channel, try and
- 24:05swap, put the manual on it, and keep the floppy paddle gearbox in the scud,
- 24:08maybe, I don't know, wish, wish, wish, right, but then going down to there,
- 24:12it's kind of a mixed bag in regards to the 3, 4, 8 would definitely be last.
- 24:15You know, I'm not a hater on that car, but you know, there's
- 24:18a lot of things wrong with it.
- 24:19It's a very finicky car.
- 24:21It can get very expensive to keep going.
- 24:23You know that 4 8, 8 pizza, that's a stunning car that's up there as well.
- 24:28But as you get into those cars, you know, I don't know how so much on
- 24:31the 4, 5, 8, how much that could really work on yourself, but I
- 24:33think to a little bit of an extent.
- 24:35But once you start getting past that with the, so you're getting to a realm where.
- 24:39The only way you're going to get service on it is take it to a dealer or someone,
- 24:42a mechanic that knows what they're doing, paying through the nose or hourly rate,
- 24:46but you know, it's price of admission.
- 24:48So you gotta take what you can get.
- 24:49But that's, that's, I like about the four 30 especially as well as,
- 24:52you know, that four 30 and 360.
- 24:54As well in three five.
- 24:55Five is you can do a lot of the work yourself on that.
- 24:58I'm wanna say they're simple cars, but you know, they're very straightforward.
- 25:00There's not much to craziness to it.
- 25:02So that's my take on it.
- 25:04Again, if you have any questions, thoughts, correct me on anything.
- 25:08You know, I'm a human, I don't get everything right.
- 25:10Shoot me an email atWilliam@theferrarimarketplace.com.
- 25:13Love to hear from everybody.
- 25:14And like I said, stay tuned for some future episodes.
- 25:17We have Mr. Luigi Connet Jr. And Bill Warner on an episode coming up.
- 25:23Not sure when we gotta get it arranged, because that's gonna

- 25:27So keep checking or however, get dinged whatever it is, you know, to get notified
- 25:31of new episodes that get dropped.
- 25:32'cause that one's gonna be a good one.
