- 0:00DANI: That episode was a lot.
- 0:01KARA: I think we need to kill Chef Jeff.
- 0:03DANI: I think that would be ideal. Anyway, how are you?
- 0:07KARA: Good.
- 0:07DANI: My mom really wants to know how Death of a Salesman was.
- 0:10KARA: It was so good.
- 0:11DANI: Okay. Because that's what she wants to see when she comes into town next month.
- 0:15KARA: We were Row N, orchestra.
- 0:18DANI: Okay. So good seats?
- 0:20KARA: Yeah.
- 0:20DANI: Did you...
- 0:21KARA: I had to use captions. I couldn't hear.
- 0:23DANI: Okay. I was going to ask, how did that go? Was it on the phone?
- 0:26KARA: Yeah, unfortunate, but the captions were good because you know, Death of a Salesman's like a show from what, 1949? So they stick to the script. I saw three plays in less than a week. So Every Brilliant Thing, Death of a Salesman and Indian Princesses.
- 0:40DANI: Yeah, you've been hitting the theater a lot.
- 0:43KARA: I love the theater. I've been telling you guys. But God, they need ASL or open captions.
- 0:48DANI: Yeah, just more accessibility. Everyone get more accessible now.
- 0:52KARA: Do you know how GalaPro works?
- 0:54DANI: No. Can you explain it to me?
- 0:56KARA: Yeah. I just looked this up yesterday because I was like, how do they time it? So I saw Every Brilliant Thing with Mariska Hargitay on Thursday. Great show. There's an app you have to download and then when you get there, you have to put your phone on airplane mode and then you have to connect to the theater wifi. And then when the show starts, the dialogue starts with the show. But the app uses AI to listen to the actors and then match with the script. So usually the theater will upload the script to the GalaPro software or something.
- 1:29DANI: Got it.
- 1:30KARA: And then for about eight shows, six to eight shows, GalaPro will listen via soundboard to the show and then train and listen to the sound of the actor speaking and then match it with the script so that it pops up in time with your phone. But the problem was with Mariska Hargitay was that the GalaPro was trained to listen to Daniel Radcliffe's voice in his script. And then also like 20, 30% of the show is improv.
- 1:56DANI: I was going to say.
- 1:57KARA: So when people were shouting out in the theater, I had no idea what they were saying. And the script just said ad lib, ad lib. And I was like, "That's not helpful." Okay.
- 2:05DANI: It's like when I'm watching with captions and it puts on character speaks in Spanish. And I'm like, "What are they saying?" That's not helpful. Okay, that's annoying. I mean, I guess that's one place where hopefully the AI will improve.
- 2:21KARA: Maybe.
- 2:21DANI: And continue to-
- 2:23KARA: Also-
- 2:23DANI: Help.
- 2:23KARA: With Daniel Radcliffe's script, they changed his background story and the script to match his background. So it talked about him being from London and he had different names for things and then Mariska Hargitay- this was only her second show when I went. So when she was speaking, she was talking about being from the West Coast and had different names for things and the script would completely get it wrong because they're like, "This is not the British man we're used to having." But then for Death of the Salesman, it was fine because it's always the same cast, which also explains why when I went to Titanique, they were like, "Sorry, we don't have GalaPro yet because I guess the GalaPro was still training. They said after... When I saw Titanique on Broadway also, it was still in previews. And I think it takes six to eight shows to listen and be trained.
- 3:13DANI: But it transferred from off Broadway.
- 3:15KARA: I know.
- 3:16DANI: With mostly the same cast.
- 3:18KARA: I know. Annoying. I would also love for me to buy a ticket and then say hello. I'm coming in X amount of weeks to see the show. Can you get an interpreter? Like we're doing for-
- 3:29DANI: Yeah. I'm confused. Why Broadway can't do that, but a little venue like Bell House will do that.
- 3:35KARA: And Bell House has always done that for me. I don't know. I wonder if it's copyright issues with the script, with the interpreters learning it. And also they will say like, "Well, the interpreter is going to need to practice and train beforehand." But the nature of interpreting is listening and then interpreting. It's great to have the script beforehand. I'm sure they can read through, but they don't need to memorize it like the actors do.
- 3:58DANI: No, exactly. I'm getting heated.
- 4:00KARA: Me too.
- 4:00DANI: And this is related to, did you see Marlee Matlin's post today about The Sphere?
- 4:04KARA: The Sphere in Las Vegas.
- 4:05DANI: Yeah.
- 4:07KARA: Marlee Matlin, Queen of Closed Captions.
- 4:09DANI: Yes, exactly. Went to The Sphere to see The Wizard of Oz. She went to see it and was like, "How's this going to work?" And they were like, "It's on your phone."
- 4:17KARA: They gave her a QR code on a piece of paper and she had to read the captions on her phone.
- 4:22DANI: And then her phone was dying and then she was like, "I had to use one hand to"- you don't want to fucking have to stare at your phone when you're watching a movie.
- 4:30KARA: She was like, "Everyone else is drinking soda and eating popcorn and watching the movie. But I have to hold my phone and then with one hand use my other hand to take a sip of my soda and then also watch the movie at the same time."
- 4:42DANI: Yeah. I mean, she's right that she was like, "Well, they can't put the captions on the screen because the screen is so fucking huge."
- 4:48KARA: And it would be distorted.
- 4:49DANI: It would be distorted and weird. Yeah.
- 4:51KARA: And she's right. I don't know how the seats are set up, but I was wondering if they could put a screen in the chair in front of her.
- 5:00DANI: Like hang it off the back or something?
- 5:01KARA: Yeah.
- 5:02KARA: And then she could read from there. So at least she has hands free.
- 5:05DANI: Yeah. Like an iPad. They could have done a Slam Frank.
- 5:08KARA: They could have done a Slam Frank. Or like, prop up the iPad. When kids watch TV in the family van, they have a screen on the back of the seat.
- 5:18DANI: Yes, exactly. They need to call us.
- 5:20KARA: Yeah. Hire me guys.
- 5:22DANI: Yeah. Or Sarit.
- 5:23KARA: Or Sarit. Yeah. Hire Sarit.
- 5:25DANI: You're busy. I mean Sarit's also really busy.
- 5:27KARA: I know. Do we want to get to this awful episode?
- 5:29DANI: I really don't, but we should.
- 5:31KARA: I know. [UPBEAT JAZZY MUSIC]. Season one, episode 27, The Declaration of Independence, which aired October 1st, 2012. It is that famous painting that we all know.
- 5:54DANI: It's like, of them signing the Declaration of Independence.
- 5:57KARA: So they're technically not signing it.
- 5:59DANI: What are they doing?
- 6:00KARA: They're presenting a draft of the Declaration of Independence to the Second Continental Congress.
- 6:05DANI: Oh, my bad. So what do we think? I guess it's Bay. It's kind of Bay.
- 6:10KARA: I would say Bay is declaring her independence from her parents being like, "I'm going to do street art and there's nothing you can do about it." And then Daphne also, I guess, assuming her independence by going after a grown man. The episode starts off. Bay is out with Zarra. She's sharing the family lore finally.
- 6:28DANI: Finally.
- 6:29KARA: Yeah. And they go to do street art and work on something together.
- 6:33DANI: They're at the bus yard.
- 6:34KARA: The bus yard. But someone has tagged over their work with the word "smak" in all caps, but it's S-M-A-K, exclamation point.
- 6:43DANI: So stupid.
- 6:44KARA: And they're pissed.
- 6:45DANI: They're like, "This guy's been hitting everything in town!"
- 6:48KARA: "What a loser."
- 6:49DANI: We also got some tidbits about Zarra's dad and her family.
- 6:54KARA: Yeah. So what do we learn?
- 6:56DANI: That he was also a street artist and that he mostly abandoned her to quote hang with his crew.
- 7:02KARA: Yeah. His name is Neptune, but it seems like Zarra really idealizes him still.
- 7:07DANI: Yeah. They're talking about his piece that's out on a bridge that no one's ever tagged. Tagged after him. Okay.
- 7:17KARA: Yeah.
- 7:17DANI: But she's also like, he was a dirt bag and he left my mom. So it's kind of-
- 7:22KARA: But I also like him because he's an artist like me.
- 7:24DANI: Yeah. Yeah. Later on in the episode when Bay is trying to get out of doing something, she's like, well, he put his art before everything. And it's like, yeah, including you, girl and you're mad at him for it.
- 7:36KARA: And that's not a good thing.
- 7:37DANI: That's not.
- 7:38KARA: Emmett is at Maize restaurant finally with Daphne. Looks like it's a bakery during the day.
- 7:44DANI: I guess so?
- 7:45KARA: Whatever.
- 7:46DANI: Yeah.
- 7:46KARA: And Daphne's like Jeff is still giving me mixed signals.
- 7:50DANI: She also finally is like, "I'm having a hard time working and going to school at the same time."
- 7:54KARA: Yeah, I cannot imagine.
- 7:56DANI: Thank God they acknowledge that.
- 7:58KARA: She's there everyday.
- 8:01DANI: She's in chef whites right now and they're studying at the restaurant. It's very confusing.
- 8:07KARA: Yeah. She's there everyday also. She's taking extra shifts.
- 8:09DANI: Yeah, she wants to see her man.
- 8:12KARA: See her man. And he does show up. He's doing some restaurant admin and Emmett takes one look at him and goes, "Uh-oh. I know who that man is." Does not tell Dapne that that is the man that fucked his mom.
- 8:25DANI: No. Well, that wouldn't be helpful right now.
- 8:27KARA: No.
- 8:28DANI: John and Kathryn are going through Bay's stuff.
- 8:30KARA: Yeah. Now they know she does street art, so they raided the art studio. They found stencils and spray cans and they're like, "Oh no."
- 8:36DANI: I don't really understand why they would do this because then they turn around and say, "We're going to leave it up to you to decide to make better choices."
- 8:45KARA: It's not like they confiscate it.
- 8:47DANI: No, they're not confiscating anything. I feel like it results in some lost trust because Bay's like, "What the hell? You're going through my stuff." And I think that's fair.
- 8:55KARA: Yeah. They look through her stuff and then they're like, "Please don't do it. You can get in trouble. You can get hurt. You could go to jail. But also we're going to challenge you to be the daughter that we raised. With clear moral lines between right and wrong. So it's up to you girl."
- 9:10DANI: It kind of works on her too. The whole episode she's like, damn, I feel bad. I don't know. I mean, what else can they do?
- 9:17KARA: I know grounding wouldn't work.
- 9:19DANI: No. And she's already been doing it for so long.
- 9:23KARA: I guess my one option would be confiscate that stuff because she doesn't have the money to just go buy spray cans.
- 9:31DANI: Yeah, but I get that if they confiscate it, she might make some dangerous choices to make that money back to pay for that stuff.
- 9:37KARA: Yeah, I guess.
- 9:39DANI: I don't know. I would be at my wit's end too because it is illegal and dangerous.
- 9:44KARA: Yeah. I was watching it like, I don't know what I would do. I don't know if that's the right decision. But again, I have no idea. I'm not a parent.
- 9:52DANI: I was thankful this episode to be child free, particularly teenager free.
- 9:57KARA: I was also grateful because Travis is back.
- 10:00DANI: Travis is back.
- 10:02KARA: We're at Carlton with Travis and Daphne. It's Carlton open house this week and they are volunteering to set it up. They're blowing up balloons with the helium tank. Marlee comes up and she's like, "Travis, what are you doing here? Go study for Trig." She's like, "You know Travis only volunteered to be with you. He obviously has a crush on you." And Daphne goes, "Oh, well, he's nice, but I don't know." And Melody catches on that like, "Oh, you have a clush on someone else. Who's this guy?" And then Daphne goes, "Well, he's another hearing guy so you might not approve." And Melody goes, "Well, I'm rethinking my position on hearing guys. Are you guys dating?" And Daphne goes, "No, he's kind of hard to read." And then Melody says, "Don't read him. Let him know you're interested." Doesn't ask any questions. What's his name?
- 10:48DANI: Yeah. Nothing about him.
- 10:50KARA: Does he go here?
- 10:51DANI: Right. Nothing.
- 10:53KARA: Nothing. Just let him know you're interested.
- 10:55DANI: Tough.
- 10:55KARA: And then walks away.
- 10:56DANI: Also bad advice in this case.
- 10:59KARA: If it was any other guy.
- 11:00DANI: Sure. Great advice.
- 11:03KARA: Not for this.
- 11:04DANI: Also, why is Maize helping the school fundraiser? I thought this was a-
- 11:08KARA: Melody's fucking the chef.
- 11:10DANI: I guess so. I'm just like, I thought this was a fancy place. Did they really have the time to do catering for a school? Not even fundraiser. It's like an open house night.
- 11:20KARA: I know. It looks like there's a lot of people.
- 11:23DANI: This feels below them a little bit. No offense.
- 11:27KARA: Well, he's doing it so he could get that pussy.
- 11:30DANI: Yeah, I guess so. I guess he's just like, he can be interested in multiple people at once. He can be interested in the adult woman and the teenage girl apparently.
- 11:39KARA: Now at the guest house, Kathryn is helping Regina with her bags. Remember guys, she still has a wristbrace and she can't sign with Daphne.
- 11:46DANI: Yeah. The wrist stuff is really heavy handed this episode.
- 11:49KARA: Very much so. Angelo's not this episode because Kathryn got him a carpentry job out in Lake Michigan. So he is booked and busy.
- 11:58DANI: They were like, "We got to get this guy out of here. He's too distracting with all these other plot points going on."
- 12:03KARA: Honestly good. Regina invites John and Kathryn to Carlton open house. Kathryn's like, "Absolutely. Also, your wrist, you seem to be in pain." Kathryn says, "I know an orthopedic surgeon if you're interested because I know you miss signing with Daphne." And Regina is like, "Yeah, sure." But you can tell she seems annoyed.
- 12:21DANI: John is blasting Toby's music at the car wash.
- 12:25KARA: He's trying to be supportive.
- 12:26DANI: He's trying to be supportive so bad this whole episode. I was really feeling for John, but he's just trying and Toby's like, "I don't want to be muzak." Whatever. He's a proud father.
- 12:38KARA: I know. And then John goes into his office and he sees Travis looking through some documents on John's desk. It looks a little nefarious, but then Travis's just like, "oh, I'm just looking for stuff to file, like vendor invoices." And John goes-
- 12:51DANI: Just wants something to do because he doesn't want to go home.
- 12:54KARA: Yeah. John's like, "Go home. Your shift was over forever ago." And Travis was like, "Are you sure, I can keep working" And John's like, "Get out. Love you. Get out."
- 13:03DANI: Yeah. He only ever really signs with Travis. Do you notice that?
- 13:08KARA: Yeah, not with Daphne.
- 13:10DANI: No.
- 13:10KARA: I guess because he's like, "Well, Daphne can speak."
- 13:13DANI: Yeah, I guess because Travis is the only one that's like, "I'm not bending to your ... " Everyone else, even Melody kind of will vocalize for John.
- 13:23KARA: I like that Travis is like, "No, you will be signing for me."
- 13:25DANI: Yeah.
- 13:26KARA: And you will learn.
- 13:27DANI: It's good for him. It's good for him to learn.
- 13:29KARA: And it helps with the bond later on.
- 13:31DANI: Yeah.
- 13:31KARA: Because someone is learning. Bay and Zarra are outside Zarra's library.
- 13:36DANI: Yeah. She says, "I finished at six today." Okay, girl. At the library? I just don't believe it.
- 13:43KARA: They're talking about Smak. Apparently he is an instigator. He's been tagging a lot of other artist's piece and they "hat" him or hate him.
- 13:51DANI: Yeah. They're on some blog where people post their-
- 13:54KARA: It's like Reddit or something.
- 13:56DANI: Yeah. Post their pieces. And did you see the photo that the guy had posted though alongside ... It wasn't a photo of a piece that had been tagged. It was a photo of him, like a guy with his hands in front of his face.
- 14:08KARA: Devastated.
- 14:09DANI: Yeah, like a photo of him crying basically.
- 14:11KARA: Oh no, someone tagged my graffiti, my vandalism.
- 14:16DANI: Isn't that kind of the point?
- 14:17KARA: Yes.
- 14:18DANI: Isn't that part of the whole thing?
- 14:20KARA: Yes.
- 14:21DANI: So I don't really understand why people are upset.
- 14:24KARA: Like Zarra tagged Bay's.
- 14:26DANI: Right.
- 14:26KARA: I don't understand why. I don't get it.
- 14:29DANI: I guess because he's kind of spoiling them. Zarra was at least working within the structure of Bay's preexisting piece.
- 14:38KARA: And he's just putting giant letters over it.
- 14:39DANI: He's putting SMAK over pieces so he is kind of ruining them, but I don't know. I just feel like they're being really sore losers about it, kind of.
- 14:49KARA: Yeah. But it goes, I have an idea guys. Let's put up a new piece that's bait. Wait for him to show up and then bust him." And Bay's like, "Yeah, let's doxx him. I'll get a picture of his face too and I can put it on this graffiti Reddit"
- 15:03DANI: Right. Isn't that ... They're being in assholes.
- 15:07KARA: Yeah. Also, you can get the guy in legal trouble and yourselves. And everyone else, I just don't ... I don't know. But she said, "But also I am going to sit one out because my parents have been on my ass lately." And Zarra says, "Well, my dad only cared about one thing. Art. A true artist puts his art before anything else." He sounds like he sucks.
- 15:27DANI: Yeah. And so does Zarra. Chef Jeff and Daphne...
- 15:31KARA: Side ponytail again.
- 15:33DANI: It's not going to keep your hair out of the food, girl. It's not kitchen safe. Anyway, she's on a stool texting.
- 15:43KARA: It's her break.
- 15:44DANI: And he comes over and is like, "Wow, texting your boyfriend on company time." And she's like, "First of all, I didn't take my break earlier, so don't harass workers. Time theft is real, Chef Jeff."
- 15:56KARA: Yeah.
- 15:56DANI: It's your most minor crime, but it is a crime.
- 15:59KARA: Another reason he sucks.
- 16:01DANI: And she's like, "I don't have a boyfriend." And he's like, "Girlfriend?"
- 16:04KARA: Ally.
- 16:05DANI: Happy Pride month!
- 16:07KARA: He said, "Well, you have two moms."
- 16:10DANI: Right. Yeah. I saw gay. I said gay. And she's like, "No, I'm staking at the competition."
- 16:17KARA: Yeah. There's a new pastry chef at a local bistro and she's like, "I'm looking online at it and I want to go try it. Do you want to come with me?"
- 16:26DANI: And he's like, "Yeah." And then- I hate that they have flirty banter this whole episode.
- 16:32KARA: I know. He's like, "I hope you're not leaving." Because he was like, "Oh no, are you going to leave me to go be a pastry chef for this bistro? I kind of like having you around now."
- 16:40DANI: She's like, "You never even wanted me. " And he goes, "No one else looks at me so intently when I talk." Enough! Enough, Jeff.
- 16:48KARA: We're in the Kennish kitchen now and Melody and Kathryn are there and they're planning the Carlton open house. Kathryn is like, "I will be volunteering my time. This is awesome." But they do invite Regina to also volunteer and Regina goes, "No, I'm good."
- 17:01DANI: She's busy. Her wrist hurts.
- 17:04KARA: And then John comes in and goes, "Hi, Melody. How are you? What do you know about Travis?" And then Melody starts signing and Kathryn interprets for Melody. So Kathryn is in with Deaf culture. She's getting it now.
- 17:15DANI: She's getting it now.
- 17:17KARA: She interprets and says, "Well, Travis is a lot older than the other kids because he got held back at a hearing school before he went to Carlton. I know his family doesn't sign and they don't seem to care about his schooling."
- 17:28DANI: Yeah.
- 17:28KARA: And then John says, "Well, Travis never wants to go home." And Melofy says, when no one signs at home, kids can feel pretty lonely. Also, Marlee Matlin speaking from experience.
- 17:38DANI: Yeah.
- 17:39KARA: Yeah. Ouch. Emmett looks cute today. We
- 17:41DANI: Emmett looks really cute today. He looks really good this whole episode. They're doing something really good with his hair. That's all I can say.
- 17:48KARA: We're at Carlton.
- 17:49DANI: He asks Bay to come to Carlton because he's like, "Hey, so I found out that that guy that Daphne likes is her boss and also that boss is fucking my mom." And Bay's like, "Ew." And also like, "Wow, Melody's such a hypocrite after all the shit she gave me."
- 18:05KARA: Great. And then she finally asked a question that everyone should have been asking, which is, how old is he?
- 18:11DANI: And all Emmett says is too old for Daphne and too young for my mom.
- 18:15KARA: I don't care about the second part, the first part-
- 18:17DANI: She's not too young for Melody either. Melody's not that old.
- 18:20KARA: No. Be nice to your mom.
- 18:22DANI: If she wants to fuck a 28 year old, let her. She's hot.
- 18:25KARA: Yeah. I don't give a fuck about the second part.
- 18:27DANI: They're two consenting adults. That's fine.
- 18:29KARA: Yeah. The first part is right there.
- 18:30DANI: The first part is a real problem.
- 18:32KARA: I think what I was most frustrated about throughout the whole episode is that no one says the words Crime.
- 18:37DANI: Right.
- 18:37KARA: Age of-
- 18:38DANI: Statuatory. Yeah. No one. Yeah.
- 18:41KARA: Jail. Prison.
- 18:42DANI: Right.
- 18:43KARA: Criminal.
- 18:44DANI: Abuse of power.
- 18:46KARA: None of that.
- 18:46DANI: None of that.
- 18:47KARA: They were just like, "He's too old. He's youa boss." None of the other big words.
- 18:51DANI: So then Bay's like, "You know what? I've seen what Daphne looks like when she tries to dress slutty for this man. She ain't getting him. So let her have her little school girl crush and don't tell her. It's fine. It'll just embarrass her." I think Bay is right for all of the information that has at the moment, she's right.
- 19:10KARA: Me too.
- 19:10DANI: Because it is normal for girls to have crushes on inappropriate men. Part of the hypothetical appeal is that it's a safe crush to have because in theory it can't happen.
- 19:24KARA: It shouldn't.
- 19:24DANI: And so that's like part of it, is like how comforting it is that you can fantasize about this thing when there's no real risk of it actually occurring.
- 19:31KARA: Right.
- 19:32DANI: But that is not the situation that we're in.
- 19:34KARA: No. Yeah. Bay gives good advice with the information she knows she has.
- 19:39DANI: And then she's like, "Hey, can I borrow your camera?"
- 19:41KARA: Yeah, so she can catch Smak, take pictures of him and then put it on the Reddit or something.
- 19:47DANI: I know we're in 2012, but phone cameras were already pretty good by then. I don't think that you needed Emmett's fancy camera.
- 19:54KARA: But that camera's better though.
- 19:56DANI: Whatever.
- 19:56KARA: Than the iPhone 3G?
- 19:58DANI: It seems like a bad idea for her to take his fancy camera to the bus yard and he offers to go with her and she says, "No, I'm good. I'll be careful," which she won't.
- 20:07KARA: And then she goes, "And also nothing has changed with us."
- 20:09DANI: Yeah. Right at the end before she leaves. She goes, "And also I'm still mad at you, bye."
- 20:12KARA: Good boundary setting. I'm glad that she expressed that. She was like, "I will be taking your camera, but don't think anything's changed."
- 20:18DANI: Daphne is out on her pastry scouting date with Chef Jeff.
- 20:24KARA: They're in the parking lot.
- 20:24DANI: For some reason it's night. I guess when she said pastry chef, I assumed it was going to be like a, let's go at one o'clock in the afternoon before the restaurant opens type of day.
- 20:35KARA: They say bistro. When I think of bistro, I think something open during in the day.
- 20:39DANI: Yeah, I think like lunch. But no, it is nighttime and they are leaving presumably what was just a semi-romantic dinner.
- 20:48KARA: Well, they ate donuts.
- 20:49DANI: Yeah.
- 20:50KARA: He's anti-donut too.
- 20:52DANI: He's so annoying. Yeah. He's like, "Donuts aren't real dessert, whatever." And Daphne's like, "And that's why you ate seven of them? Okay."
- 20:59KARA: What kind of dessert gives you nine donuts?
- 21:02DANI: They probably were like little donut holes if I had to guess.
- 21:05KARA: Oh, that makes so much sense.
- 21:07DANI: Yeah.
- 21:07KARA: I think I was expecting like full-
- 21:09DANI: Full donuts.
- 21:09KARA: Dunkin donut looking donuts.
- 21:11DANI: No, because I would not want to almost make out in the parking lot after-
- 21:15KARA: Eating seven donuts.
- 21:16DANI: Eating seven donuts.
- 21:17KARA: I love donuts.
- 21:17DANI: This whole scene made me feel so icky. He says, "Oh, so you're the type of person that keeps count." And she's like, "You're always trying to tell me what type of person I am, but what if I'm nothing like what you think?" And then a guy is like, move, you're leaning against my car. And so Chef Jeff moves in and basically has Daphne pressed up against her car and then he's like, "Well, I guess I'll just have to find out for myself what kind of person you are." And then they almost kiss.
- 21:46KARA: She pulls away.
- 21:46DANI: Daphne pulls away and is like, whoa. I wonder if she pulled away in that moment because she was like, "This is getting a little bit too real." Or if she was like, "It'll be hotter. He'll want me even more if I pull away right now."
- 22:00KARA: I was wondering if she was playing hard to get, but it could also be overwhelming.
- 22:05DANI: And she does seem overwhelmed. She's like, "Bye, I got to go." She gets into her car and she deflates once she's in the car.
- 22:12KARA: Yeah. And she does have a little dissociative episode later where she is constantly thinking about it. I'm sick to my stomach the entire time, guys. We're at the restaurant. Melody's with Chef Jeff. She has asked him to cater for the Carlton open house and he has obviously said yes because they are going through the menu and Melody's like, "You rock. Want to come over after?" And he goes, "No, sorry, I have to work late." So sounds like he's maybe losing interest in her and more into Daphne. [BOTH GROAN]. Now Daphne's having a dissociative episode staring in the fridge.
- 22:48DANI: And then Bay's like, "Hey." And Daphne's like, "I'm looking for butter and also me and Chef Jeff almost kissed last night." And Bay's like, "Whoa, okay."
- 22:58KARA: "Isn't he a little older than you?"
- 23:00DANI: And Daphne's defense is, well, John is older than Kathryn.
- 23:03KARA: And Bay rightfully says, it's only a few years older. He was never her boss and they are two consenting adults.
- 23:09DANI: They met after Kathryn was out of college. Even if John is 10 years older, if Kathryn has gone through college and is out of college, I feel much better about that dynamic.
- 23:19KARA: Chef Jeff is over- he's over 10 years older.
- 23:22DANI: Yeah.
- 23:22KARA: He's older than 26.
- 23:24DANI: At least 10 years older.
- 23:25KARA: I feel crazy watching this.
- 23:28DANI: There's no math where it's good. There's no math where that shakes out well. Daphne's like, "When did you start following all the rules?" And it's like, girl, I think she's just trying to keep you from getting abused.
- 23:38KARA: Again, no one said the word crime.
- 23:41DANI: No.
- 23:42KARA: Statutory. Age of consent. I felt crazy. I looked at the age of consent in Missouri just to make sure I wasn't insane. It's 17. Even if she was 17, it's still weird, honestly. Bay goes, "there's something you need to know about Chef Jeff." And we know offscreen that she's going to tell her that Chef Jeff and Melody have fucked because the next scene Daphne is stomping, we're at Carlton, she's stomping towards Emmett and says, "Why didn't you tell me about your mom and Chef Jeff?" And he goes, "I didn't know who he was until you pointed him out at the restaurant."
- 24:14DANI: Yeah.
- 24:14KARA: And then she goes, "Well, why didn't you tell me then?" And then he goes, "I didn't know what to say." Fair. I wouldn't know what to do.
- 24:22DANI: Yeah. He also didn't want to tell you at work in front of him.
- 24:27KARA: Yeah.
- 24:28DANI: That's insane.
- 24:29KARA: Yeah, Daphne starting to crash out. She's like, "How can they be dating? I know he likes me." And Emmett's like, "I don't even know they're dating. They may have just had sex once or twice." I don't know.
- 24:39DANI: Something consenting adults can do.
- 24:41KARA: And then Daphne goes, "How they even communicate? Melody doesn't like to speak and Chef Jeff doesn't know how to sign."
- 24:48DANI: That was really interesting that that's where Daphne's head went first.
- 24:51KARA: Like how they communicate?
- 24:52DANI: Yeah. Do you think she was trying to be disparaging?
- 24:55KARA: Of?
- 24:56DANI: Of being like, "Back off Melody."
- 24:58KARA: Yes, I do.
- 24:59DANI: You think? That's what I got the vibe of too, is her being like, "Melody doesn't even speak." And I speak so he should want me.
- 25:08KARA: No, that's exactly what I was thinking. Melody comes in and goes, "Hey guys, what's up?"
- 25:12DANI: She's like, "Hey." Also, she's wearing insane wedge heels for work. They're like open toed. I mean, they're hot, but it's like, okay, what was going on with the costume design this day? Because then Daphne's wearing a denim dress over a T-shirt, a denim tubetop dress over a T-shirt with a cardigan over that. Imagine me sick to my stomach watching this episode and she rocks up in that.
- 25:34KARA: Why are they dressing her more like a toddler?
- 25:37DANI: I just want to talk to the costume designer. I just want to talk.
- 25:40KARA: It's open house time at Carlton. John and Kathryn are there. They spot Travis and Kathryn says to John, she is meddling, but she was like, "You should go find Travis's parents and encourage them to learn ASL"
- 25:52DANI: Kathryn just found out about non-supportive parents. She didn't know they existed.
- 25:57KARA: Literally. And John is like-
- 25:59DANI: Just found out about this injustice and she will fix it.
- 26:02KARA: I know. Aga
- 26:04DANI: I really admire her.
- 26:04KARA: A crusader for justice.
- 26:05DANI: I know.
- 26:06KARA: I love her.
- 26:07DANI: She's got good intentions.
- 26:08KARA: Yeah. John is like, stay out of it and I will be staying out of it. First of all, I am not being very present for my children right now. Toby has no interest in me. And also-
- 26:17DANI: I think he's being very present, he's just not having much success.
- 26:20KARA: That's true.
- 26:21DANI: But he doesn't think so. He thinks he's doing a bad job.
- 26:24KARA: Also- I think
- 26:24DANI: He's doing a good job.
- 26:25KARA: I know, me too. I like John.
- 26:27DANI: I like John. It's been the biggest surprise of the season.
- 26:30KARA: I know. We really like John. And then also, I wouldn't say his ASL is amazing, so I don't know if he would be the spokesperson for learning ASL for the child.
- 26:40DANI: No, but I do think it would probably mean a lot coming from him.
- 26:43KARA: He's making the effort.
- 26:44DANI: No, I'm saying if he were to roll up to Travis's parents' house and be like, "What the fuck? Get it together."
- 26:51KARA: Yeah.
- 26:51DANI: I feel like that would probably mean a lot. He's a celebrity.
- 26:54KARA: That's true. Oh, right.
- 26:56DANI: Travis's dad knows who he is.
- 26:58KARA: That's so true.
- 26:59DANI: It would mean a lot.
- 27:00KARA: Yeah, that's so fair. I forgot.
- 27:02DANI: The parents are not there, so it doesn't even matter.
- 27:04KARA: No. Chef Jeff is at the event. He's catering. I guess he didn't hire other people?
- 27:09DANI: Again, why would he ... He's here for the plot, but this made no sense.
- 27:14KARA: Yeah. There's another chef who also works at the kitchen who's there to help out and she's like, "Do you want me to call Daphne over for help?" And he's like, "What?"
- 27:23DANI: He's like, "Why would Daphne be here?"
- 27:25KARA: At this Deaf school, in the city where she lives. I don't get it.
- 27:29DANI: At the school where her maybe gay mom works or whatever. You know what I mean?
- 27:33KARA: He's so dumb.
- 27:35DANI: He's so dumb.
- 27:36KARA: He's so dumb. And then the chef says, "Well, isn't she here to help? Deaf girl, Deaf school." Chef Jeff is, I think, connecting the pieces and he's like, "Uh-oh."
- 27:46DANI: Yeah. And then Melody comes over to be like, "Let me look at the food." And Jeff is like, "Why is Daphne here?" The first time we see him really sign.
- 27:55KARA: Oh, I missed that.
- 27:56DANI: Yeah. He uses her sign name and asks and she's like-
- 28:00KARA: She's a student here.
- 28:02DANI: She's a student here. She goes to school here. This is her school.
- 28:05KARA: She's a student, dummy.
- 28:06DANI: He goes white as a sheet.
- 28:08KARA: He's like, "Oh, a minor."
- 28:10DANI: Oh no, that's a minor. That's a minor.
- 28:13KARA: Doesn't stop him later.
- 28:14DANI: That would've been a really good moment for him to say, "I got to go. I'm actually going to leave. I need to completely pull myself out of this entire situation." But no.
- 28:22KARA: No, he stays.
- 28:22DANI: No, he stays.
- 28:23KARA: Toby is in his music studio.
- 28:26DANI: Yes.
- 28:26KARA: He's looking at the flyer that Nikki gave from last episode and Bay snatches it out of his hand and says-
- 28:33DANI: Bay's like, "You should hit that."
- 28:34KARA: She says, "Well, the flyer says my heart belongs to Jesus, but the handwriting says everything else is negotiable."
- 28:40DANI: She wants to play wingwoman. She's like, "Let's help you out, Toby."
- 28:44KARA: Toby's going through a tough time.
- 28:45DANI: I know.
- 28:45KARA: She's like, "Get out there." And she goes, "Well, also Toby, I need advice. I'm supposed to go put up new pieces with Zarra. Should I bail?" And Toby. Bad Advice.
- 28:54DANI: Yeah, it's not great.
- 28:56KARA: He's like, you should come to the movies with me and my friends." And she goes, "Well, why would I do that? " And he goes, "That's your alibi, girl. Use me as your alibi." Go commit crimes.
- 29:06DANI: At least she has someone supportive.
- 29:08KARA: Yeah. He goes, "You can't disappoint them if they don't know you disappointed them." And Bay listens. But then Bay says, "You should ditch the movie too and go give Nikki a call."
- 29:16DANI: Yeah. And he does.
- 29:17KARA: He does. But Toby then says, I don't know, she's kind of church-y. And then I like that Bay says, "Well, there's little chance that she'll fuck my boyfriend then. So I like her already."
- 29:27DANI: Yeah, so true. Maybe what Toby needs is a churchy girl right now.
- 29:32KARA: Yeah, with the complete opposite of Simone.
- 29:34DANI: Yeah. Back at the open house, Daphne goes up, she's eyeing Jeff from across the room and Travis is like, "This food's so good, blah, blah, blah," trying to talk to her and she's like, "Let's go get some more." Takes Travis over. This was so uncomfortable to watch. I felt so sad for Travis and-
- 29:53KARA: Yeah, using him as bait or-
- 29:55DANI: To see if Chef Jeff would be jealous.
- 29:58KARA: Yeah.
- 29:58DANI: She brings him over. Starts to feed him something.
- 30:02KARA: Hand feeds him.
- 30:03DANI: Hand feeds him. And then literally asks Jeff a question as she's hand feeding Travis so that he looks over and sees her and she's posed trying to look sexy with her hand in Travis's mouth. And Chef Jeff is like, "Whatever, girly." And disengages from her entirely. And then it's Daphne's turn to turn pale with shock. She's like, "Oh my God, he suddenly doesn't like me."
- 30:29KARA: And then Travis asks, "This is awesome. Do you want to go bowling after this? " And she goes-
- 30:33DANI: Daphne's like, "Yep." And then she just walks away from him.
- 30:37KARA: Travis, this whole episode, his parents aren't there. He has to keep explaining why his parents aren't there.
- 30:42DANI: He's literally there for the food because they're not feeding him at home.
- 30:45KARA: And because Daphne's there.
- 30:47DANI: Yeah. And he took the bus there. He doesn't even ... Later on, John's like, "Let me give you a ride," because he-
- 30:54KARA: He doesn't have a car. Everyone be nice to Travis.
- 30:57DANI: Everyone be nicer to Travis.
- 31:00KARA: God.
- 31:00DANI: So yeah, Daphne's crashing the fuck out. So while this is all going down, Bay meets up with Zarra at the bus yard or whatever with the camera and they're staking the place out and Bay's asking more questions about Zarra's situation. Did Zarra say ... She's basically unhoused.
- 31:19KARA: Yeah. She says-
- 31:20DANI: She says she has a bus or a trailer.
- 31:23KARA: She lives in an abandoned trailer by the river.
- 31:26DANI: Yeah. She's like, "You know where all those abandoned trailers are? I just took one of them and made it mine." So not a real home.
- 31:33KARA: She is unhoused.
- 31:34DANI: She's unhoused.
- 31:36KARA: Her mom left when she was 18.
- 31:38DANI: Her mom moved out when she was freshly 18. And Bay literally is like-
- 31:42KARA: "That's so cool. "
- 31:42DANI: "Well, at least you don't have to lie to anybody. My parents are so concerned for me all the time and take care of me. Oh my God." And even Zarra's kind of like, "Okay, girly, whatever. I don't know about all that." And then Zarra's like, "Well, you could move in with me." In the abandoned trailer?
- 31:59KARA: I shook my head no so hard.
- 32:01DANI: No. Yeah, that's okay. Thanks though. So they're doing that and then finally Smak comes. The guy comes and it's just- I half expected the reveal to be someone we knew. No, it's just some random guy in a hoodie and he starts to get his spray cans out and Bay's like, "Oh, we need him to turn and look this way. What do we do?"
- 32:25KARA: So we can take a picture of him.
- 32:26DANI: So we can take a picture of his face and doxx him on the internet.
- 32:28KARA: Yes. And Zarra's like, I'll go start a fight basically.
- 32:32DANI: Yeah, Zarra's like great idea. I'll just reveal myself to him and be like, "Fuck you," and then physically get in a fight with him.
- 32:38KARA: Yeah. They're shoving each other, they're pushing each other and then she brandishes a weapon.
- 32:44DANI: Zarra pulls a knife and is like, "I'm going to cut you. If you want to go, we'll go."
- 32:50KARA: And Smak is like, "Oh, you're a crazy bitch. I'll leave."
- 32:52DANI: And he runs off so they don't get a photo of him and then Bay's like, "Are you insane?" And Zarra's like, "It's a paint scraper. Relax." It could have ended so badly.
- 33:03KARA: So bad.
- 33:05DANI: And just like, I don't know. I think that Bay, you just realized you're in over your head and you should get out of this situation.
- 33:13KARA: And then this plot ends with Bay coming home and being like, "I'm going to continue doing street art, mom. There's nothing you can do about it."
- 33:19DANI: Yeah. Regina and Kathryn are talking in the kitchen about their parenting choices and Bay walks in and is like, "By the way, tonight I was out doing street art and I'm not going to lie to you about it, but I'm also not going to stop and I'm not going to apologize for it." And then she walks away.
- 33:31KARA: I don't know if that altercation would make me want to continue doing street art. That scared the shit at me.
- 33:37DANI: Yeah. How did that validate her choices? Again, it seems like you are hanging with the wrong crowd.
- 33:43KARA: Yeah. Don't understand.
- 33:45DANI: I think when your friend that lives in the abandoned trailer by the river pulls a knife on the guy you're stalking over a piece of street art, over some spray paint, I think that's when you maybe zoom out. You pull back a little.
- 33:58KARA: Yeah. You go home and paint on the canvas.
- 34:01DANI: Which she has plenty of. So endless supplies and funds and resources. And she could paint another mural. She already painted that mural at Buckner. She could do another one.
- 34:10KARA: I know.
- 34:11DANI: Paint the car wash for real. I digress.
- 34:14KARA: Paint The Thing.
- 34:15DANI: Yeah, paint The Thing.
- 34:16KARA: Bomb it.
- 34:17DANI: Bomb The Thing. Back at the open house, Daphne's crashing the fuck out. She's freaked out and then Melody is like, "What's up, girl? You're looking crazy in the corner of this party." And Daphne's like, "Nothing." And Melody's like, "Okay, clearly something." And the Daphne's, "I don't like that you're dating my boss." And Melody's like, "Whoa, whoa, we are not dating."
- 34:39KARA: We've seen each other three times.
- 34:40DANI: Yeah. And then Regina comes over.
- 34:43KARA: Now they SimCom.
- 34:45DANI: Now there's simcomming because Regina's over, which doesn't really make sense because Daphne doesn't need to voice to Regina.
- 34:51KARA: Exactly.
- 34:52DANI: Regina's wrist is broken or whatever the fuck, but she can still ... Her eyes work fine.
- 34:57KARA: Her eyes work fine. She has a left hand.
- 34:59DANI: Yeah. Which she uses a little bit.
- 35:01KARA: A little bit.
- 35:02DANI: But Daphne's like, "Did you kno" And Regina's like, "Yeah." I do think it's kind of messed up that Regina wouldn't be like, "Oh my God, Daphne, Melody totally hooked up with your boss."
- 35:13KARA: Yeah, gossip a little.
- 35:14DANI: Gossip a little. That does feel ... But they're really distant from each other right now, so I guess that tracks.
- 35:19KARA: Because Regina can't sign.
- 35:21DANI: Melody leaves and then Regina's like, "What is this really about?" And Daphne's like, "I just told you I don't like that she's dating my boss."
- 35:28KARA: She goes, "No one asked me if I was okay with it."
- 35:31DANI: It's like those memes. It's like, I consent, I consent. Is there someone you forgot to ask? Daphne, you forgot to ask Daphne.
- 35:39KARA: Regina says, "Do you have feelings for Chef Jeff?" And Daphne goes, "That's crazy. Why would you even think that?"
- 35:44DANI: She's like, "Well, that slutty top you were wearing the other day."
- 35:48KARA: "But it's okay. It's very normal to have a crush." And Daphne goes, "I don't have a crush on him." And Regina goes, "Good, because it's totally inappropriate." Again, no one's saying the word crime.
- 35:57DANI: It's totally inappropriate. He's much too old for you and he's your boss. This is such bad parenting because she doesn't believe her. Regina doesn't believe her. When Daphne says, "I don't have a crush on him." And then for her to just be like, "Okay, well, I'm going to now lecture you about it." You're not making it any better.
- 36:15KARA: She should have opened up the floor to make it okay for Daphne to open up.
- 36:20DANI: Yeah. Instead of being like, "It would be completely inappropriate."
- 36:23KARA: Yeah. She starts lecturing and then Daphne lies and goes, "You're speaking too fast. I can't understand you." And then runs off.
- 36:30DANI: Sick burn.
- 36:31KARA: Travis is so excited to go bowling with Daphne.
- 36:33DANI: Oh my God. It's so- He tells John and he's like, "I'll have her home at a reasonable time unless she wants to go park somewhere and then I can't make any promises." And John is like, "I'm going to assume you said you're going to be a perfect gentleman." But I love their litle bonding.
- 36:50KARA: Yeah.
- 36:50DANI: I love that John's like, "I would love for you to date my daughter, actually."
- 36:54KARA: Kathryn runs into Emmett, the vibes are uncomfortable, but it's okay because Principal Rose decides to yell and SimCom into the crowd.
- 37:00DANI: Yeah.
- 37:01KARA: She thanks everyone. Chef Jeff runs off. Daphne follows him. Daphne's gone from open house.
- 37:07DANI: And leaves Travis behind.
- 37:09KARA: Leaves Travis.
- 37:09DANI: John is like, "Do you want to ride home?" And Travis is like, "No, I'm waiting for Daphne. We're going to go bowling." And John's like, "Oh, I think she just left."
- 37:18KARA: I think she went back to the restaurant to do something and-
- 37:21DANI: "Oh, it's fine." And then John is like ... So John, this whole episode multiple times, he's trying to get Toby to hang out with him. He pitches hang gliding.
- 37:31KARA: And then a movie.
- 37:31DANI: And then a movie. So really a wide range of activities, but he's really trying to get Toby to hang with him. Toby does not want to, whatever. So John is like, "What if the two of us went to the batting cages?" And he is like, "You don't need to do this for me. " And John goes, "It's not just for you." He wants to be a dad right now. I really like it. And Travis needs that.
- 37:54KARA: It's so sweet. And he goes, "I hope you can swing faster than you can sign." I love this.
- 37:59DANI: I love this friendship.
- 38:01KARA: Father adopted son bonding. It's great. Kathryn goes up to Regina at the open house and asks about the hand again. This whole episode, she is pestering Regina about getting her hand checked out by the orthopedic surgeon and Regina finally is like, "Stop it. Not that it's any of your business, but I did get checked out. And he said like all the other doctors that I just need to rest it." And then I think Kathryn is like, "Well, aren't you frustrated that you can't sign with Daphne?" And Regina's like, "Don't you think that I would do everything I possibly could to sign with Daphne again?"
- 38:31DANI: I'm going to be honest.
- 38:32KARA: No.
- 38:32DANI: No, I don't. Regina's stubborn as fuck. Regina says, "I can't believe you think that if it was an issue of money, I wouldn't ask you for it." No, that really tracks.
- 38:42KARA: She wouldn't.
- 38:43DANI: She would not ask.
- 38:44KARA: Right.
- 38:45DANI: Reina's extremely prideful. Makes perfect sense that Kathryn is assuming that there's more that she could do.
- 38:51KARA: Right. But then later Regina does apologize because they go back home after the open house and she's like, "I'm sorry. I feel like I'm losing touch with Daphne and I took it out on you." And then Kathryn says, "I'm also sorry. I overstepped." And the two of them have a nice agreement and they talk about how hard he is to be a parent. And that's when Bay comes in and is like, "I'm doing street art and there's nothing you can do to stop me."
- 39:14DANI: It's unrelated, but Kathryn looks so hot.
- 39:16KARA: She does.
- 39:17DANI: She looks so good in the dress she's wearing.
- 39:18KARA: She's wearing like a black dress.
- 39:20DANI: It's very good. Then Toby...
- 39:22KARA: He leaves his New Dawn gig.
- 39:24DANI: Yeah. And Nikki, chases after him. He's like, "Do you want to go to the plaza?"
- 39:30KARA: Sure.
- 39:31DANI: And she's like, which must be like an outdoor mall or whatever. And she's like, "I'm not really a plaza kind of girl."
- 39:37KARA: What the fuck does that mean?
- 39:38DANI: I think it's hinting. I'm pretty sure Nikki has a past.
- 39:42KARA: That's right.
- 39:43DANI: That we're going to learn about. Now...
- 39:45KARA: We have to do the last scene. We have to unfortunately.
- 39:48DANI: We're in Chef Jeff's kitchen.
- 39:50KARA: As he's entering, the camera pans over. It's like a horror movie.
- 39:54DANI: It is a horror movie with that outfit.
- 39:56KARA: It's like the girls in The Shining standing at the end of the hallway.
- 39:59DANI: But it's just Daphne in her cardigan.
- 40:01KARA: Daphne is wearing a bright purple cardigan over ... I have a picture of it.
- 40:05DANI: I took a picture of it too.
- 40:07KARA: Please describe it for the audience.
- 40:09DANI: Wait, let me find. This is what she was wearing earlier that I was complaining about. Okay. I'm going to start ... Actually, her shoes aren't that bad. Okay. She's wearing, it's like a pinkish purple shrug. A denim dress that is a tube top dress over a white T-shirt with the shrug on top and a gold statement belt that is easily four inches thick.
- 40:35KARA: Yes and espadrilles.
- 40:36DANI: Yeah. And she's rocking a really intense side part.
- 40:40KARA: Really intense side part and I think braids in the side part. She looks four.
- 40:44DANI: Yeah, it's tough. So she's standing kind of in the dark in the kitchen.
- 40:50KARA: She truly looks like the girls in the dress standing in The Shining.
- 40:53DANI: Yeah.
- 40:54KARA: It's terrifying.
- 40:55DANI: And Jeff walks in and she's like, "What happened? I thought you liked me."
- 41:00KARA: He goes, "You're in high school." She says, "So?"
- 41:04DANI: Daphne is being so crazy thinking that it's not an issue for him.
- 41:08KARA: He didn't say, "You're in high school, it's a crime. You're 16, it's a crime."
- 41:12DANI: No offense, I don't want to go to jail. Not just like, "I don't want to date you because I'm a good guy and I didn't know you were in high school. Now that I know you're in high school, that's gross." The bare minimum, where are your self-preservation skills, man?
- 41:25KARA: Yeah.
- 41:26DANI: So he's like, "I didn't know you were a high schooler." And she's like- the way this interaction goes down makes it seem like Daphne didn't know that he didn't know.
- 41:35KARA: I don't know.
- 41:36DANI: Unclear. But she's like, "Well, what do you mean?" And he's like, "Well, I didn't even look at your application because they just told me I had to hire you. I saw that you were a student. I just assumed college."
- 41:47KARA: I think you're right. I don't think Daphne knew that he didn't know.
- 41:51DANI: And Daphne's like, "What difference does it make?" A big difference, girl.
- 41:54KARA: Legally, yes.
- 41:55DANI: Legally a huge difference.
- 41:57KARA: She goes, "It didn't matter in the parking lot." And then Chef Jeff turns around and then...
- 42:03DANI: Well, I don't even know what he's saying, but she says it didn't matter in the parking lot. He says something dramatic and turns and she reaches out, grabs his wrist and says, "You have to look at me when you speak," and pulls him into her and then they are inches from each other's faces.
- 42:19KARA: I'm throwing up right now. And then they get- And then they kiss. Okay, that's it.
- 42:23DANI: And then they kiss and that's the end of the episode.
- 42:31KARA: From my memory of the show, I thought they kissed when he thought she was an adult.
- 42:35DANI: No, girl. No-
- 42:37KARA: He kisses her. Yeah, there's so much worse. He kisses her after he finds out she's a high schooler.
- 42:42DANI: Yeah.
- 42:42KARA: Again, guys, crime.
- 42:44DANI: Crime.
- 42:44KARA: Criminal.
- 42:45DANI: Criminal. Do you have any other thoughts unrelated to Chef Jeff this episode?
- 42:49KARA: No, this kind of took over.
- 42:51DANI: Yeah, it was really overpowering. Well, tune in next week where hopefully things get better.
- 42:58KARA: Bye.
- 42:59DANI: Happy Pride.
- 43:00KARA: Happy Pride.
- 43:01DANI: Bye. [UPBEAT JAZZY MUSIC]
