- 0:00Speaker 1: Bulet Cap Show special guest in here. Come on the
- 0:03Speaker 1: very first day of my new career. Yes, as a bipper. Yes,
- 0:07Speaker 1: I decided to cancel the podcast. I'm gonna move to
- 0:10Speaker 1: San Francisco, Yes, and I'm going to pays very well. Yeah,
- 0:13Speaker 1: I'm just gonna play the odds game. I'm a bit
- 0:15Speaker 1: everybody look for every rental and hopefully I hit like
- 0:18Speaker 1: a you know, a nice you know, hopefully Draymond's slipping
- 0:20Speaker 1: one day. Draymond ain't gonna be slipping, obviously. Draymond is
- 0:25Speaker 1: never going to slip. Never, He's never going to slip.
- 0:28Speaker 1: He's always ready for action. A Draymond was at your
- 0:31Speaker 1: concert at the Roxy. That's my brother. Super nice guy. Yes,
- 0:34Speaker 1: great guy. I saw him out back and chopped it
- 0:38Speaker 1: up with him. He did a video saying hi to
- 0:39Speaker 1: my son. Yeah, so talk to me about your conference.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Talked to him since he knocked out Jordan Poole. Ain't
- 0:47Speaker 1: never but a little bit of straighten it. Yeah. You know,
- 0:51Speaker 1: I feel like families fight, friends fight, things happen, you know,
- 0:57Speaker 1: and you know they just you know, they had to
- 0:59Speaker 1: get some just get a little bit of frustration up.
- 1:02Speaker 1: That's all it was. It wasn't nothing too crazy. So
- 1:04Speaker 1: how bad does he want to be a Laker? I
- 1:08Speaker 1: don't know. You would have to call and he's your
- 1:12Speaker 1: he's your friend, he's not my friend. We don't talk
- 1:14Speaker 1: about those things. I gotta ask. I don't because at
- 1:17Speaker 1: your concert, he was sitting next to Lebron James and
- 1:20Speaker 1: his wife. He loves it in La Jordan Poole wasn't
- 1:23Speaker 1: at your concert, you know, Kamingo wasn't there. You know,
- 1:27Speaker 1: Draymond and Lebron were there. You know. Well, if that,
- 1:30Speaker 1: if that does happen, right, let's say that does happen,
- 1:33Speaker 1: which I don't think it will happen. When that does happen,
- 1:35Speaker 1: let's see, I don't think it will. I think he'll
- 1:38Speaker 1: be a warrior. You don't think that. You're just saying
- 1:40Speaker 1: that because we're being work. I think he'll be a warrior.
- 1:42Speaker 1: You're full of shit. Let's say let's say that does happen. Okay, Okay,
- 1:46Speaker 1: how do you see that working. I think if Russell
- 1:49Speaker 1: Westbrook is gone, okay, and they give him like comparable
- 1:54Speaker 1: salary to what he's making now, which I think is
- 1:55Speaker 1: like twenty seven million dollars, yeah, they could probably afford
- 1:58Speaker 1: to get another player. I mean, I'm not mad Ron
- 2:01Speaker 1: Draymond and A D. I'm not mad at the at
- 2:04Speaker 1: the front court of A D and Draymond. Yeah, I'm
- 2:09Speaker 1: not mad at it. But the problem with the Lakers
- 2:11Speaker 1: is they still don't have nobody who can shoot. They
- 2:13Speaker 1: don't have no shooters. So it's like, could we get
- 2:16Speaker 1: Draymond and Jordan Poole. I think he could push it
- 2:18Speaker 1: if you put some shooting. I said. We like, I'm
- 2:20Speaker 1: a fucking Laker fan. I'm a Lebron You are a
- 2:21Speaker 1: Lakers I'm not. I'm a Sun's fan like the Sons.
- 2:24Speaker 1: You just root for him because you're from there. No,
- 2:26Speaker 1: you're a Laker fan. Listen Bootleg keV podcast. No, no, no,
- 2:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you what he does Lebron. Let me
- 2:32Speaker 1: tell you what he does when he's not in Phoenix.
- 2:35Speaker 1: He wears Lakers gear, He goes to Lakers game that
- 2:38Speaker 1: he celebrates Lakers wins. He just don't let y'all see
- 2:41Speaker 1: the ship because he got this Phoenix monkey on his back.
- 2:44Speaker 1: He's a liar. I'm telling you the truth. I've seen
- 2:47Speaker 1: him in this suite with a Lebron James Laker jersey
- 2:50Speaker 1: on You haven't, Yes, I have. I've never worn a
- 2:52Speaker 1: Lebron Lakers jer I'm probably making it up, but I've
- 2:54Speaker 1: seeing you in the suite rooting for the Lakers. I
- 2:57Speaker 1: have every Lebron jersey in my except the Lakers. No,
- 3:02Speaker 1: I have one. So you see that, yall? He has
- 3:04Speaker 1: the fucking jersey. But he wears the jersey to the games.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I've seen it. I have it for collection purposes. I mean,
- 3:11Speaker 1: I'm I'm Lebron is like my my favorite player ever. Okay,
- 3:15Speaker 1: so if you go into my office, I have like
- 3:16Speaker 1: a Lebron toy. So what do you think your sons
- 3:18Speaker 1: are gonna do this year? Because they lost you some
- 3:20Speaker 1: money last year and a little bit of embarrassment. I
- 3:26Speaker 1: think it's gonna be rough. He's gonna be rough because
- 3:29Speaker 1: DeAndre Ayden don't want to be there. Jay Crowder is
- 3:30Speaker 1: trying to get the fuck up out of there. Should
- 3:32Speaker 1: have got Kadi. We tried. I don't think you tried
- 3:35Speaker 1: hard enough. You're probably right. We should have just said, whatever,
- 3:37Speaker 1: what do you want? Give me what he wants. He's
- 3:40Speaker 1: a goat. Hopefully by January fifteenth he's unhappy there and
- 3:45Speaker 1: Ayton is tradable and then we we fucking make the swap.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go in the state Lakers.
- 3:51Speaker 1: So this the Sun's So what that tells me is
- 3:54Speaker 1: you are a Laker fan growing up because of Kobe.
- 3:57Speaker 1: But then the Warriors got good and you're like, it's
- 3:58Speaker 1: convenient because I'm from the Hey, let's go Warriors. You
- 4:01Speaker 1: were very close. You were very very close. I know
- 4:05Speaker 1: a lot of people first the first half, yes, but
- 4:08Speaker 1: it was the we believe Warriors team for me with
- 4:10Speaker 1: Baron Davis, Matt Barnes, Stephen Jackson, Michael Petrice. Yeah, it
- 4:15Speaker 1: was that, Jason Richardson, it was that team. Was Beadrin's
- 4:20Speaker 1: on that team, the center, the white guy from think
- 4:21Speaker 1: he was. I think he was on that team. But
- 4:25Speaker 1: that's when I became a real Warriors fan. You were
- 4:27Speaker 1: a Warriors fan for like that run and then they
- 4:29Speaker 1: sucked again. But even when they sucked, the rocket So
- 4:32Speaker 1: Marta Ellis, I rocked with early early Steph. Then Clay came,
- 4:37Speaker 1: Draymond came. I remember me and Bam went to the series.
- 4:42Speaker 1: When they first went to the playoffs and played the
- 4:44Speaker 1: Spurs in the second round, I think it was around
- 4:47Speaker 1: twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen, somewhere around there. But that's when
- 4:51Speaker 1: we kind of started to see like, okay, the Warriors
- 4:53Speaker 1: is about I remember that serious when they first made
- 4:56Speaker 1: it to the second round. That's when we kind of knew,
- 4:58Speaker 1: like the Warriors, Mark was the coach, Yes, sir, and
- 5:00Speaker 1: they got my boy out of there, and it ain't
- 5:02Speaker 1: brought him back since. Yes, it's crazy he hasn't got
- 5:04Speaker 1: another job. Yeah, I think he offended the wrong people. Yes,
- 5:08Speaker 1: or the NBA is mildly racist. At least we know
- 5:11Speaker 1: that's why he didn't get hired by the Suns because
- 5:12Speaker 1: the owners. I'm kidding the our coach is black and
- 5:14Speaker 1: towards our GM. Hey, that doesn't mean the owner can't
- 5:17Speaker 1: be racist. Oh he's a piece of shit and he's
- 5:18Speaker 1: out of there. I hope Jeff Bezos PI is the team.
- 5:21Speaker 1: They're saying, if Jeff Bezos by the team, it's going downhill.
- 5:25Speaker 1: What does that mean? We got to we'll always be
- 5:27Speaker 1: in the luxury tax. You know, you guys, he'll be
- 5:29Speaker 1: the richest owner in the league by far, but just
- 5:31Speaker 1: living the luxury tax, like y'all do, you guys will
- 5:34Speaker 1: be flying spaceships to the games. I like it. You know,
- 5:37Speaker 1: you'd just be two in the future to win. I
- 5:40Speaker 1: gotta don't see it. Well, listen, man, I gotta give
- 5:42Speaker 1: you props. The new album is out, thank you. It's
- 5:44Speaker 1: he Got a Boone to pick with you too, It's
- 5:46Speaker 1: a mixtape. Why because you called Freddy Gibbs album of
- 5:50Speaker 1: the Year over minds. I think his album is better
- 5:52Speaker 1: than yours. Okay, your opinion, I think you got. I
- 5:55Speaker 1: think I got you around five. Okay. I put the
- 5:58Speaker 1: list together the other day. You're about five. So who's
- 6:01Speaker 1: the four before me? I got Freddie Kendrick, Push your
- 6:04Speaker 1: T and j I D and then Simba. That's disrespectful.
- 6:10Speaker 1: You know what's disrespectful is the songs you keep losing
- 6:12Speaker 1: or leaving off these fucking projects. I can't get shit
- 6:15Speaker 1: cleared now. You got this fucking was it Black Jesus? Oh? Yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 1: that's the oldest song. Yeah, but that ship should be honest,
- 6:21Speaker 1: it's crazy. It comes soon. Let me tell you something.
- 6:24Speaker 1: But I respect your opinion. You know you're up there.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I put the list together, like literally, what makes what
- 6:30Speaker 1: makes those albums better? I just think that they're I
- 6:33Speaker 1: just think they're better. I don't know, what, do you
- 6:35Speaker 1: want me to lie to you better? Because they're more
- 6:38Speaker 1: like you're friends with them. No, you're I'm closer friends
- 6:40Speaker 1: with you than everybody, but Freddy, like I love you, bro,
- 6:44Speaker 1: like I'm waving your flag all the time. I know
- 6:46Speaker 1: I wave your flag over the tome. I want to
- 6:48Speaker 1: put you. They're definite. I'm not. J I D. Has
- 6:51Speaker 1: been on my show once. He's a nice guy. I'm
- 6:53Speaker 1: not what makes j I D's album better than Mane.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I just think front to back it's it's just I
- 6:59Speaker 1: just think it's strong. Yeah, but you don't have a reason,
- 7:02Speaker 1: you just I think j I D's album conceptually super crazy.
- 7:05Speaker 1: He's got a song called Mom and Them on there.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I just think it's like to me j I D's album,
- 7:11Speaker 1: And I think that the top three or four albums
- 7:14Speaker 1: of the year are all pretty close. Like some days
- 7:17Speaker 1: I might feel like it's Push, or some days I
- 7:18Speaker 1: might feel like it's Kendrick. I think the top three
- 7:20Speaker 1: is like Freddie, Kendrick Push in any order. But then
- 7:25Speaker 1: I think it's like j I D. It's you, It's
- 7:27Speaker 1: Denzel Curry Joey Badasses album, his album is Dope Convey's album,
- 7:34Speaker 1: Benny Tannatos the j I D Two with j I
- 7:37Speaker 1: D's album I Just Want to also also also, your
- 7:40Speaker 1: Ship's a mixtape, yeah, DJ Drama host it. Yeah, but
- 7:45Speaker 1: what's a mixtape compared to album? I agree? I agree.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I'm just I'm just so. I would say that, uh,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you are. I just feel like some shit got left
- 7:54Speaker 1: off this project. N The only thing that really got
- 7:58Speaker 1: left was it was a beat we couldn't get clear.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I would say this, I think that your album is great,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and I think that you have some of the more
- 8:10Speaker 1: like dope relatable shit, and I think that there are
- 8:13Speaker 1: I think that some of the like records I don't
- 8:15Speaker 1: prefer on the album or probably like the Keyglock record
- 8:20Speaker 1: I love, Yeah, I don't, I don't know, just not
- 8:23Speaker 1: crazy about it. That's the record. There's the Jeffrey Dude
- 8:26Speaker 1: on that record. Yeah, but I didn't like that record
- 8:30Speaker 1: when you played it for me before Keyglock was on it.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I like it. I think it's a great performance record.
- 8:35Speaker 1: It brings a lout of energy. The album is dope though. No, No,
- 8:39Speaker 1: it's a great album. I know. I'm not saying it's not.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I'm saying, I'm trying to make you like the song.
- 8:45Speaker 1: It's not that I hate it, It's just that I
- 8:47Speaker 1: just like, I don't know, I feel like I can't
- 8:51Speaker 1: wait for nothing. It is one of my favorite songs
- 8:53Speaker 1: of the year. I told you like just on some yo.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Let's talk about this, Okay. Can I open the cabinet
- 9:01Speaker 1: a bit, open it up, let's go. Are you sure
- 9:04Speaker 1: I'm ready? Doctor Drake cut a verse. I heard the verse. Yes,
- 9:09Speaker 1: didn't make the album? No, what that doesn't mean it's
- 9:12Speaker 1: not coming. Got tricks up to sleeve. Well, you did
- 9:16Speaker 1: two parts to the song. You get the first part.
- 9:18Speaker 1: They got to push three. It might be a four,
- 9:21Speaker 1: might be a five. There's a few people that like
- 9:23Speaker 1: that beat so that they've rapped to it. Mm hmmm.
- 9:27Speaker 1: So I feel like we had a time today where
- 9:30Speaker 1: you could keep making your album. So Doctor Dre was
- 9:32Speaker 1: supposed to be on the on the song? Is he
- 9:36Speaker 1: supposed to be on that song or maybe when that's coming? Well?
- 9:38Speaker 1: I heard him on that song, but was it that version?
- 9:42Speaker 1: I heard him on the version I feel like person,
- 9:46Speaker 1: So what's it like? Uh, by the way, did you
- 9:48Speaker 1: help him write the record? No? He he like the
- 9:53Speaker 1: way Dre works is like a collaborative thing. He might
- 9:55Speaker 1: take a line or two here, take certain things, but
- 9:58Speaker 1: he kind of knows what he wants to say, right,
- 10:00Speaker 1: So it's just more so like you kind of just like, so,
- 10:03Speaker 1: did you help him with the verse? No? No, no no, no,
- 10:06Speaker 1: I didn never met all with the verse. I just
- 10:08Speaker 1: pulled up one day and actually the verse we're talking
- 10:13Speaker 1: I never end up broke. Yes, yes, never ended up broke.
- 10:16Speaker 1: He actually laid the verse. It was him and them
- 10:18Speaker 1: joints and I came to the studio one day and
- 10:19Speaker 1: he played it and you know, we're figuring it out
- 10:24Speaker 1: exclusively right here on the bootleg keV Show. This is
- 10:27Speaker 1: the first time I've ever said this. I gotta get
- 10:30Speaker 1: permission to open the cabinet a little. You know, well,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you know you you're my brother, so I'm all for it.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I mean, I think that like having Dre obviously co
- 10:40Speaker 1: sign is crazy because he doesn't co sign a lot
- 10:42Speaker 1: of people. How did uh that a relationship originally start?
- 10:47Speaker 1: So Dre has a nephew who's a producer as well.
- 10:50Speaker 1: His name is Keon, right, and I met Keon at
- 10:54Speaker 1: the studio session. He was like, gonna take you to
- 10:56Speaker 1: meet my uncle. We ended up jumping on the phone.
- 11:01Speaker 1: He was like, after the super Bowl, I want to
- 11:03Speaker 1: link up with you and put some music together. Super
- 11:06Speaker 1: Bowl passed. About two days later. He hit me, told
- 11:08Speaker 1: me to pull up to the crib. I told everybody
- 11:11Speaker 1: in the studio I was going to the bathroom, and
- 11:13Speaker 1: I never came back. Wow. So I left the studio
- 11:18Speaker 1: and I went to Dre's house and I was over
- 11:20Speaker 1: there for about four days working. I heard his speakers
- 11:23Speaker 1: at his house are crazy. It's immaculate. Everything is like incredible,
- 11:28Speaker 1: and it's so crazy. Is as loud as the speakers are.
- 11:31Speaker 1: When you close the door to the studio, you can't
- 11:33Speaker 1: hear nothing. It's just so you just like isolated. Oh
- 11:38Speaker 1: I got you, I got you. The room so quiet,
- 11:41Speaker 1: like it's like you close the door, like imagine if
- 11:43Speaker 1: we closed that door, Yeah, you wouldn't hear nothing. You
- 11:46Speaker 1: could still like you could if that was his studio
- 11:49Speaker 1: and you could turn the music all the way up
- 11:52Speaker 1: the podcast, you wouldn't hear What the fuck? And then
- 11:55Speaker 1: what's crazy is he has that same set up built
- 11:58Speaker 1: in about like two or three different studios. Shout out
- 12:00Speaker 1: to dream Man. The Goat, the Goat, the Greatest shut Out. So,
- 12:04Speaker 1: how many records did y'all do together? We have a few. Wow,
- 12:09Speaker 1: we have a record that's really, really, really good. I
- 12:12Speaker 1: wish he drop it. Is it on him to drop
- 12:15Speaker 1: it that one? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, okay, Yeah, it's really
- 12:19Speaker 1: really good. I can get it come out soon. I
- 12:22Speaker 1: think he's working on something. Yeah, I mean I've heard, yeah,
- 12:25Speaker 1: I've heard that. You've u there's some potential stuff in
- 12:29Speaker 1: the works for you with a lot of artists. Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 1: There was a particular record that I really liked of
- 12:33Speaker 1: yours that I told Caston. I was like, man, I'm
- 12:35Speaker 1: just gonna ask him for the song and just make
- 12:37Speaker 1: it a bootleg keV single west Side Griselda. But he
- 12:40Speaker 1: said that that verse might make some big ship. Yeah.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I put the verse somewhere else because we couldn't get
- 12:46Speaker 1: the sample clear That be the thing, man, These damn
- 12:49Speaker 1: simple clearances. Like some of my best verses is like
- 12:52Speaker 1: always over a sample, and it's so tough to clear
- 12:55Speaker 1: these samples. Sometimes it's tough, and like if you're like
- 12:59Speaker 1: you're on atlant so like I feel like that sample
- 13:01Speaker 1: clearances Atlantic and they're like they just shoot for the
- 13:05Speaker 1: moon on how much they want to. Robin Thick made
- 13:06Speaker 1: it hard for everybody he did. Robin Thick made it
- 13:10Speaker 1: hard for because they won that lawsuit against him, right,
- 13:13Speaker 1: Robin Dick made it hard for us. And uh, what
- 13:16Speaker 1: was the other lawsuit that it was Robin Thick blurred
- 13:19Speaker 1: lines and it was another one, the Bruno Mars or no, no,
- 13:25Speaker 1: it was, Uh, it was another one. I can't remember
- 13:29Speaker 1: which one when it was, but it was another one.
- 13:32Speaker 1: But the Robin Thick one was. That was the one. Hey, yeah,
- 13:36Speaker 1: big time, good for that, big time, big time. But
- 13:39Speaker 1: sometimes I feel like, you know, like, for instance, I
- 13:44Speaker 1: had a record that it's on the project, but it's
- 13:47Speaker 1: a different beat behind it, right, And I feel like
- 13:51Speaker 1: if the original beat was on it, it was out
- 13:53Speaker 1: of here records. I felt like it was it would
- 13:58Speaker 1: have been a big, massive record if the original beat
- 14:02Speaker 1: was what it was, it was a sample and it
- 14:05Speaker 1: was a sample from a big album. And the writer
- 14:08Speaker 1: who passed away, not gonna say his name, passed away.
- 14:11Speaker 1: And I think twenty sixteen he told his wife to
- 14:15Speaker 1: never clear music after he passes. He wants his music
- 14:19Speaker 1: to live on the way that he made it. But
- 14:22Speaker 1: I felt like the way to keep the music living
- 14:25Speaker 1: on is too and the way to keep money in
- 14:27Speaker 1: your family's pockets. Yeah, but I ain't feel bad. I
- 14:30Speaker 1: felt bad because the record is this mass. But at
- 14:32Speaker 1: the same time I heard like everybody's tried to clear
- 14:36Speaker 1: the record. Like I talked to two Chains and he
- 14:38Speaker 1: like had the same sample with the same song that
- 14:40Speaker 1: was Man, he couldn't get it clear. Lizzo, oh you
- 14:43Speaker 1: know what the two change shit. I wish that would
- 14:47Speaker 1: have been on your album sell Itself. Yeah, yeah, I
- 14:51Speaker 1: wish that would have been on your album. Why because
- 14:53Speaker 1: it was supposed to be and that shit was that
- 14:55Speaker 1: shits so hard, And I feel like it was just
- 14:57Speaker 1: an album cut on the fucking Two Chain's album as
- 14:59Speaker 1: to where if it was a the album left on,
- 15:00Speaker 1: for sure, y'all would have shot a fucking video to it.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Yet Stove got Cooks on it. I feel like, I
- 15:04Speaker 1: think that's a great rap record. That song so fucking hard.
- 15:07Speaker 1: It's a great rap. But that's the problem with it
- 15:09Speaker 1: was like at the end of his album. But that's
- 15:11Speaker 1: the problem with streaming today. It's like everything is so
- 15:14Speaker 1: curated to hear one specific sound. You would have shot
- 15:17Speaker 1: that music video though I would have shot the video
- 15:19Speaker 1: for sure. That song's hard, but I understand why he
- 15:22Speaker 1: did it, you know, like change. I mean, you guys
- 15:24Speaker 1: got three songs now, yeah, got three that's out. Yeah.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure we got great chemistry though, because
- 15:31Speaker 1: I think, like I think with Changs, I bring out
- 15:35Speaker 1: kind of like his rap side. You know, everybody knows
- 15:39Speaker 1: him for like the Big Chang Chains is a lyricist
- 15:42Speaker 1: for Shane's Get Busy, and I always just love to
- 15:46Speaker 1: hear him rap. So every time, like we make something
- 15:48Speaker 1: pop Paul was like the first like fun just entertaining record.
- 15:53Speaker 1: But every time we make something we try to go Bimie.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Both of y'all were going in. It was going in
- 15:57Speaker 1: on big Onie for sure. Yeah that's big. You've kind
- 16:02Speaker 1: of like had the biggest people in and out of
- 16:07Speaker 1: the music industry get behind you, Lebron, going and on
- 16:12Speaker 1: and on. But like, what do you I think that Well?
- 16:16Speaker 1: I always tell people about you when I say why
- 16:19Speaker 1: you're great, is that you be saying the illess shit,
- 16:22Speaker 1: but you say it in a way that's so relatable
- 16:24Speaker 1: and so like easy. You don't understand how I'm number five.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Listen man, when everybody else is so confusing, do you
- 16:32Speaker 1: want me to lie to you? I'm just saying everybody
- 16:35Speaker 1: else is so confusing. But you just said here and said, Okay,
- 16:38Speaker 1: I break it down in a way that's so relatable.
- 16:40Speaker 1: So what's more relatable than results? Take time? It's very relatable.
- 16:45Speaker 1: And five and I don't even know what the fuck
- 16:50Speaker 1: I was gonna says she was good to say. I
- 16:55Speaker 1: was one just Fridge your guy. No, it is Indrix
- 17:00Speaker 1: big time. It's not even that he's my guy. He's
- 17:03Speaker 1: I told him because Fred is my guy to shut
- 17:05Speaker 1: out to Fred. I love Fred. Fred has always shown
- 17:07Speaker 1: me he had a couple of records that we're gonna
- 17:10Speaker 1: make the album that I was really worried about because
- 17:12Speaker 1: if they would have made the album, I was very
- 17:14Speaker 1: worried about, like the direction of the project. If these
- 17:17Speaker 1: two records would have made the album and they didn't
- 17:20Speaker 1: make the album, Okay, And like I purposely, like I
- 17:23Speaker 1: had probably seventy five percent of his album already, but
- 17:26Speaker 1: like purposely didn't listen to everything in order. Why didn't
- 17:30Speaker 1: you like those two songs? It must have been commercial, Yeah,
- 17:33Speaker 1: you don't like commercial music. Yeah, it was a Forrell
- 17:36Speaker 1: record on a swale record. Okay, let me ask you this,
- 17:40Speaker 1: what's the most successful record on Fred's new project? Too Much?
- 17:45Speaker 1: I think that that's the record they're pushing. But I
- 17:47Speaker 1: think streaming wise, I think the one record that's going
- 17:51Speaker 1: up is the uh, the fucking Anderson Pac record. The
- 17:54Speaker 1: one I keep hearing is the money Bag record. So
- 17:56Speaker 1: that record is a single. You don't like that record,
- 17:59Speaker 1: do you? I like it, but I don't love it.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I love it. It's dope. I love it. I love
- 18:05Speaker 1: that record. Shut out to Fred for making that record.
- 18:08Speaker 1: That's dope ass record. But I'm starting to gauge what
- 18:11Speaker 1: it is you look for. So you you hate commercial shiit? No,
- 18:15Speaker 1: that's not true. You do I like commercial ship? No?
- 18:17Speaker 1: You do? I do? You do? You just said you
- 18:19Speaker 1: don't like the Jeffrey record. That doesn't mean I love bro.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I DJ the same like. I DJ all the ignorant
- 18:25Speaker 1: shit BRO like. I just don't particularly enjoying that record.
- 18:28Speaker 1: But that's because you're not. Also, I didn't like I
- 18:31Speaker 1: also didn't like the record on the last album, The
- 18:33Speaker 1: fucking fucking did not even follow me. I hated that record.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I didn't really like that record. That record was to me,
- 18:38Speaker 1: that record was a stretch. It didn't feel natural. The
- 18:42Speaker 1: key Block record feels natural to you. I just I'm
- 18:44Speaker 1: just not crazy about it. I'm with that, Yeah, with that.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I love that record though, performers record, if you come
- 18:50Speaker 1: to the show coming tonight, you'll like it tonight. I
- 18:53Speaker 1: bet I will. Yeah. But who else has been like
- 18:57Speaker 1: the most random person that's like just tapped in, Like
- 18:59Speaker 1: whether it's someone who just reposted you or DMD or
- 19:02Speaker 1: that Mike Tyson tired yesterday, Mike Tyson and styles p oh.
- 19:07Speaker 1: I saw that yeah with the Andrew Martinez. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 19:11Speaker 1: that was dope. And I recently ran into Akon in Atlanta.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Great hair. Oh man, he's going crazy. Yeah, I love hair.
- 19:19Speaker 1: He's going crazy. I'm interviewing him tomorrow, tell him. I said,
- 19:22Speaker 1: what's up? I will. But I ran into Acon in
- 19:24Speaker 1: Atlanta and he was like, yeah, man, you know I've
- 19:27Speaker 1: been seeing your freestyles. I'm gonna check out your project.
- 19:30Speaker 1: So literally about four hours goes by and my phone
- 19:33Speaker 1: ringing his Acon. I was just about to get on
- 19:36Speaker 1: stage in Atlanta. I had like twenty minutes before I
- 19:38Speaker 1: got on stage, and he was like, yo, He's like, man,
- 19:42Speaker 1: this fucking albums incredible. He was like, I ain't heard
- 19:45Speaker 1: nothing like this in five years, which y'all understand why
- 19:47Speaker 1: keV got me at five. He said, I haven't heard
- 19:50Speaker 1: nothing like this in five years. This is some real
- 19:53Speaker 1: fucking rap records. Like you talking some real shit, some
- 19:56Speaker 1: relatable shit, right, which y'all understand why keV asked me
- 19:59Speaker 1: at five. But he was like, this ship isn't fucking incredible.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I'm like, damn cut, I really appreciate that because I
- 20:06Speaker 1: grew up like literally watching you, like, learning how to
- 20:10Speaker 1: write hooks, listening a kon of t pain. So the
- 20:12Speaker 1: fact that he rocked with it and bulet Kiv did it,
- 20:16Speaker 1: I do. What do you mean? I love the album?
- 20:18Speaker 1: You said it was number five? That's great you like it?
- 20:21Speaker 1: You don't love it? If I bro, I love every
- 20:24Speaker 1: other album in my top ten I have, so after that,
- 20:27Speaker 1: I have, like, Joey, what other album I love I loved?
- 20:31Speaker 1: I love the Kodak Black album. So that's ko. Kodak
- 20:33Speaker 1: got a great Kodex album. Is hard. Kodek's a generation
- 20:36Speaker 1: of talent I think he doesn't get. I'm really looking
- 20:39Speaker 1: forward to hearing what this Little Baby album sounds like two. Yeah,
- 20:43Speaker 1: My Turn was like a classic, So I think it
- 20:45Speaker 1: was a classic. I think My Turn is. Yeah. I
- 20:47Speaker 1: think we're gonna look back and it's gonna be uh
- 20:49Speaker 1: regarded as a classic for sure. I can't argue that. Yeah,
- 20:53Speaker 1: I think I don't think it's a classic now, but
- 20:55Speaker 1: I think, like overtime, over time, I be like, damn,
- 20:58Speaker 1: I you know what I'm saying. Yeah, I just think, like,
- 21:01Speaker 1: you know, yeah, shout out to Baby. Yeah. Who else
- 21:05Speaker 1: is dope this year? What albums did you like? Future
- 21:08Speaker 1: had the best album of the year? To me, I
- 21:12Speaker 1: respect the opinion, just to me. Yeah, to me. Besides
- 21:16Speaker 1: results take saying so you got them, you got your
- 21:18Speaker 1: number two then, motherfucker, I got me in one ship,
- 21:22Speaker 1: I got me. You know, just dropped a great album,
- 21:24Speaker 1: punk and few. Oh the Migos is really good. The
- 21:29Speaker 1: uh yeah, no, it's album Herbo's dope. Yeah no. The
- 21:37Speaker 1: I'm very sad about the Bingos breakup, to be honest,
- 21:40Speaker 1: but what happened. I don't know. They're all related, bro,
- 21:43Speaker 1: So I don't get it. You know what happened? Tell
- 21:44Speaker 1: people to happen. I don't know what happened. I mean,
- 21:46Speaker 1: I think it was all about money, contracts, QC. Ship.
- 21:49Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know, but I love I
- 21:51Speaker 1: love man, damn so sad. I love how they recreated
- 21:54Speaker 1: the RAYK. I think it's good why. I think some
- 22:00Speaker 1: times certain things run his course. But they're related. Yeah,
- 22:04Speaker 1: but I think my thing is if they break up
- 22:06Speaker 1: and it's like amicable, they're not, It's fine. Off Set
- 22:09Speaker 1: is not related to them, He's not on Takeoff is related.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I thought they related in some I think Vos Takeoff's nephew. Correct,
- 22:17Speaker 1: I think is Takeoff's uncle. Yes, okay, one of them.
- 22:23Speaker 1: But off Set was the homie. Are we sure? Yes?
- 22:26Speaker 1: Are we sure? Yes? They're all related, all related? Yeah,
- 22:29Speaker 1: you know they're all related. They can't all be related. No, No,
- 22:34Speaker 1: they can't all be related. Google it, dwighted, they can't.
- 22:38Speaker 1: They can't all be related. They're all related. They're not.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Quavo and Takeoff is related, off Sets the homie? What
- 22:45Speaker 1: was the homie? Look it up? I guarantee you. Wow,
- 22:57Speaker 1: I told you we're both from well. I knew that
- 22:59Speaker 1: they were related. Damn No, that's a great album though. Yeah.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Now I listened to it yesterday. It was real good rock.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Marciano has a album with Alchemists. Yeah, Stove got cooking
- 23:09Speaker 1: up some dope shit too. I just seen him the
- 23:11Speaker 1: other day in New York. The uh Rome Streets album
- 23:14Speaker 1: is dough too. Shout Hi. You gotta get in with
- 23:16Speaker 1: like that. I want to hear you again with the Alchemists, bro.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I'm ready, man. I've been talking to Alchemists, me and
- 23:22Speaker 1: uh the legendary Pete Rock been talking. That'd be hard,
- 23:25Speaker 1: but you gotta get in with alc He got a
- 23:27Speaker 1: studio Santa Monica. I'm with it. I'm with it. I
- 23:30Speaker 1: actually met him through you. I met him with you. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 1: through you. Look, I'm sure we'll get in soon. What up, y'all?
- 23:40Speaker 1: We got to stop the interview to tell you about
- 23:42Speaker 1: our new sponsors, our family at har Dean, Lost Vegas.
- 23:47Speaker 1: You see what it is. You see what it is.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Welcome to the family, Hard Dean man. We're so excited.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I've been going to Harden for so many years. For
- 23:54Speaker 1: people who don't know, Hard Dean is that premium cannabis dispensary,
- 23:58Speaker 1: the number one award winning dispensary in Loss, Vegas. I'm
- 24:03Speaker 1: talking the biggest and best selection of cannabis products, and
- 24:06Speaker 1: of course in Vegas, but I'm talking about worldwide. They're
- 24:09Speaker 1: then motherfuckers. All right, So what you gotta do is
- 24:11Speaker 1: pull up when you're in Vegas to Hardan, go to
- 24:14Speaker 1: Harden Underscore Los Vegas. Shoot them that follow on Instagram,

- 24:53Speaker 1: packwards too. They give me a packword the other day. Geez,
- 24:55Speaker 1: I'm still recovering from that shit. Blew my whole fucking
- 24:58Speaker 1: face off in the best way heart in Las Vegas.
- 25:00Speaker 1: All right, shout out to them, Let's get back to
- 25:02Speaker 1: the interview. Hey, let's uh, you know what kind of
- 25:05Speaker 1: me and you always have these talks about kind of
- 25:07Speaker 1: like you're you have a pretty unique path to where
- 25:10Speaker 1: you are right now. Yes, most like you're a new artist,
- 25:15Speaker 1: but you're not a new artist. I'm a new artist. Well,
- 25:17Speaker 1: you're a new artist to the world, but I feel
- 25:19Speaker 1: like your grind is not new for sure, Like kind
- 25:22Speaker 1: of give us a little bit of background on just
- 25:25Speaker 1: like give me. Let's start out, like when you were
- 25:27Speaker 1: running around with DJ a man. Oh wow, so you
- 25:31Speaker 1: were managing artists too. Yeah, So before I actually wanted
- 25:35Speaker 1: to be an artist, I was managing artists, right. So
- 25:37Speaker 1: it was an artist named Young Kirk. Shout out to
- 25:40Speaker 1: Young Kirk. A lot of people know Kurt music. You
- 25:43Speaker 1: remember the Nigga Ma Mama that goes. So Kurt had
- 25:47Speaker 1: like a bunch of songs and we would running around
- 25:50Speaker 1: and I was just telling this story earlier, like Kurt
- 25:53Speaker 1: was like not the most friendly person, you know, So
- 25:58Speaker 1: it was kind of tough to like get them to
- 26:01Speaker 1: talk to program directors and promoters and so I naturally
- 26:07Speaker 1: had to go do that work, which kind of made
- 26:09Speaker 1: me more of a people person and understood how to
- 26:12Speaker 1: talk to people and deal with people in the industry.
- 26:14Speaker 1: So me and Kurt ran into some differences, and I
- 26:17Speaker 1: started doing my own thing and just me naturally seeing
- 26:20Speaker 1: what it took to kind of like cut through, I
- 26:22Speaker 1: applied that to what it was I was doing. The
- 26:25Speaker 1: problem was my music was just terrible at the time.
- 26:27Speaker 1: So people rocked with me as a person, but the
- 26:29Speaker 1: music wasn't all the way there. So I will notice that.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I will notice when I play my music and somebody
- 26:35Speaker 1: else would play something, I'd be like, damn, I shit
- 26:37Speaker 1: wasn't hitting like that got around a bunch of different songwriters,
- 26:41Speaker 1: a bunch of different producers, signed my first deal at Columbia,
- 26:46Speaker 1: immediately realized I wasn't a priority in the building. When
- 26:49Speaker 1: I realized I wasn't a priority in the building, about
- 26:51Speaker 1: a week later, it was a regime change where everybody
- 26:54Speaker 1: who signed me over there and brought me in left
- 26:56Speaker 1: and went to a new label. So I was stuck
- 26:59Speaker 1: on this label being a traditional rapper that got signed
- 27:03Speaker 1: through writing a song for somebody else, and they wanted
- 27:05Speaker 1: me to make music that type of way, what did
- 27:08Speaker 1: you write a song for? I can't tell you that.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I can't tell that, but it's a well known rapper
- 27:13Speaker 1: wrote no from New York though not nuts legend, not Nuts.
- 27:21Speaker 1: So I was writing a song and they wanted me
- 27:24Speaker 1: to continue to do that, but it was like no,
- 27:27Speaker 1: it was like some melody, younger, new guy. So so
- 27:34Speaker 1: I kept going and I did that because I was
- 27:37Speaker 1: basically broke at the time. I used all my money
- 27:40Speaker 1: moving out here, right, So I was running around buying
- 27:43Speaker 1: people drinks, buying tables every night, thinking this is what
- 27:46Speaker 1: it get me known, wasting a bunch of fucking money.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Artists don't ever think buying DJs and buying table, buying
- 27:55Speaker 1: DJ's drinks and buying it doesn't matter. It's gonna change
- 27:58Speaker 1: your career. It only when your music is. Actually it's
- 28:01Speaker 1: gotta be dopey. Get the music first and then do that. Actually.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Like if I'm and someone and a rapper comes up
- 28:07Speaker 1: to me and gets me a drink, I hate it, yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 1: because now I feel like you're using me. No, I
- 28:12Speaker 1: just feel like I know this guy thinks I'm going
- 28:15Speaker 1: to play a song now, and you feel like he's
- 28:17Speaker 1: using you. I'm not gonna play the songs, so I'd
- 28:19Speaker 1: almost rather just you keep the drink exactly, you know.
- 28:22Speaker 1: So I went through that whole phase and then around
- 28:26Speaker 1: twenty nineteen I ran into Dallas Martin. Yeah, and Dallas
- 28:30Speaker 1: is like, he's like the A and R. That's like
- 28:33Speaker 1: always taking the chance, right. He sign like he's not
- 28:38Speaker 1: really just signing you because of your following or because
- 28:41Speaker 1: you gotta hit record. He's signing you because he believes
- 28:44Speaker 1: and he's trying to change the trajectory of things of
- 28:47Speaker 1: how they may be. Yeah. I feel like that's how
- 28:49Speaker 1: people should get signed, based off of the gut, based
- 28:51Speaker 1: off the music, not off the metrics. The problem is
- 28:53Speaker 1: is people like Boulet Kiv that caused my album number
- 28:56Speaker 1: five and all these others get stringed because of what
- 29:01Speaker 1: he just said, but does neither here nor there. So
- 29:04Speaker 1: people like Dallas got to take a chance on me
- 29:06Speaker 1: because people like Boulet Kiv calls my album number five. Okay,
- 29:09Speaker 1: So shouts out to Dallas Morton for taking that chance,
- 29:12Speaker 1: because without him, I just be number five show. Shout
- 29:18Speaker 1: out to Dallas, You're a dick. Jesus. I was gonna
- 29:25Speaker 1: say though, like I always have, like Uh. I love
- 29:30Speaker 1: Bay Area music, yeah, but I always feel like the
- 29:33Speaker 1: music that gets embraced out of the Bay it almost
- 29:36Speaker 1: only gets embraced if it sounds a certain way regional.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Like we have a guy named John Coston who we
- 29:41Speaker 1: probably both know he's a slimy bastard. Shout out to John.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I love him, yeah, but like I'm taught the slimiest
- 29:46Speaker 1: of the slimiest. But like you know, when I'm talking
- 29:49Speaker 1: to him about like yourself or guys like Larussell, I
- 29:51Speaker 1: feel like the excitement's not there as opposed to if
- 29:52Speaker 1: I'm talking to him about like they want us to
- 29:54Speaker 1: put guns in the video. I don't know, I just
- 29:56Speaker 1: it's just frustrating because I'm like, yo, sometimes I feel like,
- 30:00Speaker 1: how is it? In my opinion, you and l Russell,
- 30:03Speaker 1: in my opinion, are like the next like Jay Z
- 30:05Speaker 1: and Nike knas Like Larrussell's gonna change the music industry
- 30:08Speaker 1: based off of his business model. The music is good,
- 30:10Speaker 1: like you're just like I think the new Hove, you
- 30:14Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. And I feel like up until
- 30:17Speaker 1: like everybody outside of the Bay was fucking with you,
- 30:20Speaker 1: it didn't feel like the people inside of the Bay
- 30:23Speaker 1: were fucking with you. You You know, Coca Cola was the
- 30:26Speaker 1: first cola to be a brand. They didn't take heat
- 30:31Speaker 1: of pepsi too much when it first came around, right,
- 30:34Speaker 1: So pepsi had to become the drink of the generation.
- 30:38Speaker 1: So related to a new demographic. And what's going on
- 30:41Speaker 1: is me and Larussell are relating to a different demographic
- 30:44Speaker 1: than what typically you see in the Bay, right. So
- 30:47Speaker 1: because of that, you're gonna get clashed, You're gonna get
- 30:50Speaker 1: a little pushedback because people have been doing it one
- 30:53Speaker 1: way for so long. They look at it like who
- 30:55Speaker 1: the fuck are y'all right to come change what the
- 30:57Speaker 1: fuck is going on? And that's cool. Oh, we're not
- 31:00Speaker 1: trying to change what's going on. He's trying to offer
- 31:02Speaker 1: some balance. We just want to relate to a broader audience.
- 31:05Speaker 1: And me and the Russell talk about this a lot.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Same thing with Rex light Rise, who's incredible. Yeah, same
- 31:11Speaker 1: thing with a little Kayla. You know, like everybody's looking
- 31:14Speaker 1: to expand we're tired of being the city that just
- 31:16Speaker 1: get looked at as like the little cousin of La, right,
- 31:20Speaker 1: you know what I mean, It's like we're bigger than that.
- 31:22Speaker 1: We could be bigger as well, but sometimes our music
- 31:25Speaker 1: doesn't translate because well, you guys don't also like make
- 31:27Speaker 1: like traditional at least what we look at as Bay
- 31:31Speaker 1: Area records. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. And to me,
- 31:33Speaker 1: that's like I think that that is why I love
- 31:35Speaker 1: the Bay because I love the area music. But I
- 31:37Speaker 1: also feel like it is also what makes the ceiling
- 31:40Speaker 1: a little bit harder to break through, because it is
- 31:42Speaker 1: a bit regional facts and you know, like being down here,
- 31:47Speaker 1: Like I remember last year, it was a bunch of
- 31:49Speaker 1: people that felt like I was actually from La right,
- 31:52Speaker 1: you know, people that actually see me into Bay working
- 31:54Speaker 1: and put it work in for years like oh yeah, nigga.
- 31:57Speaker 1: But it's like, nah, I'm just trying to expand it.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I'm trying to do something different than just we all
- 32:02Speaker 1: get hot, go to petalum or, go to Fresno, go
- 32:05Speaker 1: to Sacramento, go to Seattle. Boom come back after that?
- 32:09Speaker 1: What comes after that? Right? Why can't we be on
- 32:11Speaker 1: the level of a Kendrick Even if Bootleg keV caused
- 32:14Speaker 1: the album Number five and Kendrick Number two, Why can't
- 32:16Speaker 1: we be on the level of a Freddy Gibbs, even
- 32:18Speaker 1: though Bootleg keV calls it number five, Why can't we
- 32:21Speaker 1: be on a level We get it, We get it,
- 32:24Speaker 1: you know. So we got to make bigger records and
- 32:26Speaker 1: we got to stick together because people like Bootleg keV
- 32:29Speaker 1: hasn't called the project number one, but he has went
- 32:34Speaker 1: till the Russell's backyard. So we we we appreciate that.
- 32:37Speaker 1: If I stayed in the hotel, we love Crest, we
- 32:41Speaker 1: love that. Shout out to l Russell too, because he's
- 32:43Speaker 1: doing amazing ship. By the way, the Hampton in right
- 32:46Speaker 1: across the street from that seven eleven in Balcross. He
- 32:50Speaker 1: was in Valo Verla. My hotel that for two nights
- 32:53Speaker 1: was in Vallejo in the Crane World. It was fucking lit.
- 32:56Speaker 1: You know. We was at what's the name of that
- 32:58Speaker 1: liquor store, King's Liquor. Yeah, it's great. I got the
- 33:01Speaker 1: mac dre soda. Yeah, is a very cultural place. No,
- 33:05Speaker 1: it's great. Yeah, we had good food there, great Asian
- 33:10Speaker 1: were you and the Russell? I mean everybody's been asking
- 33:13Speaker 1: you're gonna do a new like you're gonna do an
- 33:14Speaker 1: album with him? Yeah, we're talking about it. It's it's
- 33:18Speaker 1: timing it's just trying to figure it out. Like he
- 33:20Speaker 1: got a lot going on. I got a lot going on.
- 33:23Speaker 1: We've definitely been like talking a lot more. Anytime I'm
- 33:26Speaker 1: in the Bay, always go over to his spot. We
- 33:29Speaker 1: always link up, but it's like every time we link up,
- 33:32Speaker 1: it's more of like a it's more of like a
- 33:37Speaker 1: conversation than it is about music, because we're so inspired
- 33:40Speaker 1: about being innovative that were always trying to think of
- 33:43Speaker 1: like what's the next move for the future, more so
- 33:46Speaker 1: than making a song. So it's it's definitely gonna come.
- 33:49Speaker 1: It's just timing. Who else from the Bay? Are you
- 33:53Speaker 1: fucking with? JR? Dope? Yeah, that's my boy right there.
- 33:56Speaker 1: I just brought him out in Vegas, Young Jr. He's dope.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I like Little Rex Life RAJ. Who else I've been
- 34:04Speaker 1: listening to? Also like that kid. I think his name
- 34:08Speaker 1: is dB by the Bag, but I think he's not
- 34:10Speaker 1: like Stockton or something like that up right now. Yeah,
- 34:14Speaker 1: he's dope. It's a few people that's dope Blaster. It's
- 34:20Speaker 1: a few people I rock with that's got some great
- 34:22Speaker 1: shit going on. You said on your intro that somebody
- 34:25Speaker 1: had told you needed to do a song with Kafani Canard.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Canard was the program director at Cammelle when I was
- 34:32Speaker 1: living in the Bay Area and I was bringing him
- 34:35Speaker 1: records that were not the typical sounding Bay record but
- 34:40Speaker 1: they were good records. He would tell me that I
- 34:42Speaker 1: need a Bay Area sounding record or a feature from
- 34:45Speaker 1: Kafani if I wanted to be played. And I thought
- 34:48Speaker 1: that was a very small minded way of looking at
- 34:52Speaker 1: things because it was like, Okay, so you're just gonna
- 34:55Speaker 1: dictate what people want to hear. How about you at
- 34:57Speaker 1: least get a record to shot. That's why I hate
- 34:59Speaker 1: when DJ be like I don't like the record. It's like, okay,
- 35:03Speaker 1: but what if the people do. He's just not gonna
- 35:06Speaker 1: play it because you don't like it, Like that's not fair. Also,
- 35:09Speaker 1: if you're a DJ, you have to understand that, like
- 35:13Speaker 1: there's a if you hear a record, you got to
- 35:16Speaker 1: understand like who the records for, and you also kinda
- 35:19Speaker 1: like you like unless it's a bad record. You can
- 35:22Speaker 1: you cannot like a song like I like your song
- 35:25Speaker 1: with Key Glock and Jeffrey, or it's a good record,
- 35:28Speaker 1: I just personally don't love it, But that doesn't mean
- 35:30Speaker 1: it's a bad record. I recognize like what it is, like, oh,
- 35:33Speaker 1: this is hard, Like you're not the type of person
- 35:35Speaker 1: that won't play it because you don't like like if
- 35:37Speaker 1: somebody came here and be like play Simba and Key,
- 35:40Speaker 1: I know you will play it. There's certain DJs is
- 35:42Speaker 1: like I don't like the record, I don't have it,
- 35:45Speaker 1: and they have it in the system, and I just
- 35:47Speaker 1: be thinking that's just like some Yeah, I mean listen, man,
- 35:50Speaker 1: I think like DJ's are very important, but I also
- 35:54Speaker 1: think that like they're not as important as they were
- 35:57Speaker 1: like a decade ago in terms of like radio radio.
- 35:59Speaker 1: I'm radio specific. See that's where my mind be fucked
- 36:02Speaker 1: up because I think I'm with you on that. But
- 36:05Speaker 1: I think there's a way that they can be And
- 36:07Speaker 1: I think because they be so stuck in traditional ways
- 36:10Speaker 1: and not trying to innovate what the DJs looks like today,
- 36:14Speaker 1: they get stagnant. Right, So it's a lot of DJs
- 36:18Speaker 1: that can kind of because if you look at it right,
- 36:20Speaker 1: streaming tells people what to play, so it kind of
- 36:23Speaker 1: fucks up the discovery process for artists. So if you
- 36:26Speaker 1: get DJs linking up with artists, now, DJs can help
- 36:30Speaker 1: break artists. Artists can help break DJs. I just don't
- 36:32Speaker 1: know if a DJ breaking your record in wherever it is,
- 36:38Speaker 1: I don't know how much that actually correlates to like
- 36:41Speaker 1: people giving a fuck anymore. And I'm on the radio
- 36:44Speaker 1: every day in fifteen cities. I'm telling you, I just
- 36:46Speaker 1: don't know if it matters. Like to me, it's the
- 36:49Speaker 1: final phase in like making a hit record a hit record,
- 36:53Speaker 1: because you're never gonna like chart really high on Billboard
- 36:56Speaker 1: without radio play. But like I feel like in terms
- 36:59Speaker 1: of like garnering people's interests, garnering fans, streams, all that shit,
- 37:06Speaker 1: I'm not sure what radio brings to the table unless
- 37:10Speaker 1: you are like in power rotation across the fucking country,
- 37:13Speaker 1: which means your song's already moving anyway. Yeah, I agree,
- 37:16Speaker 1: But I think because like if somebody plays your song
- 37:18Speaker 1: at like eight pm on a Friday night, yeah that's dope.
- 37:21Speaker 1: It's cool for like an ig repost, but like the
- 37:23Speaker 1: chances depending on what city it's in, Like, But that's
- 37:26Speaker 1: why I said, I think it has to be an
- 37:27Speaker 1: attachment with the DJ and the artist because DJ's helped
- 37:31Speaker 1: the discovery process, right, Yeah, I think I think I
- 37:34Speaker 1: actually think like a DJ playing your shit in a
- 37:36Speaker 1: big club over and over again is even probably like
- 37:38Speaker 1: a little bit more effective than somebody playing radio. That's
- 37:41Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Yeah, so it's not just radio, it's
- 37:44Speaker 1: having that artist to DJ relationship to where my DJ
- 37:47Speaker 1: right Erie shut out Hiller Erie, Like, now, okay, what
- 37:52Speaker 1: was it four months ago? We would only do things
- 37:54Speaker 1: in the Bay right right, So now we've been on
- 37:56Speaker 1: tour every night when he starts to set out, he's
- 37:59Speaker 1: playing never so now when Utah, when Denver, wh in
- 38:02Speaker 1: all these different places. So the more he gets booked,
- 38:05Speaker 1: it helps me. The more I get booked, it helps him.
- 38:07Speaker 1: I think it's the artist the DJ relationship which can
- 38:10Speaker 1: help break up artists today versus it kind of being
- 38:13Speaker 1: like this divisive thing of I work for the radio
- 38:17Speaker 1: and you need to make a radio record. Well. Also
- 38:19Speaker 1: like radio personalities for the most part, are really entitled dickheads, yeah,
- 38:24Speaker 1: who feel like they matter more than they do for sure,
- 38:27Speaker 1: And I'm a radio guy, and it's like, but you're
- 38:31Speaker 1: deeper than the radio guy. But I'm saying, like it
- 38:34Speaker 1: is not in my best interest to share on my
- 38:35Speaker 1: own profession, But you can sit here and have a
- 38:37Speaker 1: conversation with anybody. Most of them can't, right, because these
- 38:41Speaker 1: motherfuckers wasn't the coolest growing up, or they didn't come
- 38:44Speaker 1: from certain environments that we did. So it's different with you.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Because you could do a podcast, you can jump on
- 38:50Speaker 1: Real ninety two three, you could jump on BT, you
- 38:53Speaker 1: could do whatever it is you need to do to
- 38:54Speaker 1: get the job done. Everybody can't do that. So that
- 38:57Speaker 1: little bit of authority that they have at radio, they
- 38:59Speaker 1: try to hold on to that ship as long as
- 39:01Speaker 1: they can because that's all they fucking got. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:03Speaker 1: I see so many guys like, uh, Midwest DJ. I
- 39:07Speaker 1: was just talking to my boy about IM, like, Yo,
- 39:08Speaker 1: why is the dude still carrying himself? Like it's O two? Yeah,
- 39:11Speaker 1: Like what's happening? It's twenty two. I literally was just
- 39:14Speaker 1: in the city. I'm not gonna say the name of
- 39:15Speaker 1: the city, but I was in the city three nights
- 39:18Speaker 1: ago and they was we was listening to the radio
- 39:20Speaker 1: and he was like, how this record in the city
- 39:23Speaker 1: right now? And it was Meek Meal I'm a Boss,
- 39:26Speaker 1: And I was like, bro, where the fuck have you been?
- 39:28Speaker 1: The last that was ten years ago? Like at least
- 39:30Speaker 1: played the intro like she's explaining a boss Like it
- 39:35Speaker 1: was like, what the fuck is going on? Yeah, so
- 39:38Speaker 1: it is it's hard. Yeah were you Were you ever
- 39:42Speaker 1: trying to make those records like dude, Definitely, Yeah, definitely, definitely.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I still attempted sometimes. I Mean, the thing is, it's
- 39:49Speaker 1: like you could do it, but it's gotta be or gang,
- 39:52Speaker 1: gotta be organ Like dude, when Two Chains did I'm Different,
- 39:55Speaker 1: it didn't sound like Two Change was jocking fucking la.
- 39:58Speaker 1: It just sounded like he made a hit. You know
- 40:00Speaker 1: what I'm saying exactly. When Yo Gotti hopped on Act,
- 40:04Speaker 1: it was like, this ship is natural. It just got
- 40:08Speaker 1: to be done right. And I think sometimes as West
- 40:11Speaker 1: Coast artists, it's a little different for us because our
- 40:13Speaker 1: music moves a little faster, and the sound of today
- 40:17Speaker 1: is more so of a trap sound, which is slower, yeah,
- 40:20Speaker 1: the national sound. Yeah. So some of the records that
- 40:22Speaker 1: work over in the South doesn't work over here, But
- 40:25Speaker 1: some of the records work over here doesn't work over there.
- 40:28Speaker 1: So I think that's why Roddy was so that so
- 40:31Speaker 1: great because but not only was it that you could
- 40:35Speaker 1: understand them. Yeah, So a lot of times, like us
- 40:38Speaker 1: being from the West, we don't comprehend with the southern
- 40:40Speaker 1: accent as well. Roddy made it to where you could
- 40:43Speaker 1: kind of like get it right away no matter where
- 40:46Speaker 1: you was at. Shout out to the rich guy too, man,
- 40:49Speaker 1: my boy Roddy Rich. Yeah, he was one of the
- 40:51Speaker 1: later features that got added right. Yeah, but because me
- 40:55Speaker 1: and him had a record before. Remember I played it
- 40:58Speaker 1: for you a long time ago, and we couldn't get
- 41:00Speaker 1: that one clear, I'd have to say, you guys are
- 41:01Speaker 1: pretty much you got the same an r same, he
- 41:05Speaker 1: had the same man or he was cool got you.
- 41:07Speaker 1: It was cool before that because he had did something
- 41:10Speaker 1: for one of the homies back before I even had
- 41:13Speaker 1: met Dallas, so we knew me him and Kifa and
- 41:16Speaker 1: Cash had a relationship before I even had met Dallas.
- 41:20Speaker 1: So it just came full circle. Yo, it's Bootleg keV
- 41:24Speaker 1: here to tell you about our partners at my bookie
- 41:26Speaker 1: damnit football season. We're in the thick of it right now.
- 41:29Speaker 1: I hit big last week too. Man. I want to
- 41:31Speaker 1: give a shout out to uh, to my guy who
- 41:34Speaker 1: gave me the pick shot I got sports book killer.
- 41:35Speaker 1: But listen, what you gotta do is go to my
- 41:37Speaker 1: bookie right now, get in on this NFL action. You know,
- 41:40Speaker 1: NBA's coming up to You could bet on anything you want.
- 41:43Speaker 1: They got the player props, you could do the parlay builder.
- 41:46Speaker 1: You could bet on your favorite team to win the
- 41:48Speaker 1: Super Bowl. Get them odds up. Whatever it is the
- 41:51Speaker 1: most important thing. Get that first time deposit bonus. That
- 41:56Speaker 1: means when you sign up for your account, use the
- 41:58Speaker 1: promo code bootleg b O O T L E G,
- 42:02Speaker 1: and you will get a deposit match. So if you
- 42:05Speaker 1: put in two hundred dollars, they're gonna give you two
- 42:07Speaker 1: hundred dollars on top of that to gamble with for free.
- 42:10Speaker 1: If you put in one thousand dollars, they're gonna match
- 42:13Speaker 1: that deposit with a three thousand dollars for you to
- 42:16Speaker 1: gamble with right now. So what the fuck are you
- 42:18Speaker 1: waiting for. Let's get this money, Let's watch some fucking football,
- 42:22Speaker 1: and let's get paid with my bookie. Who are you
- 42:25Speaker 1: like a fan of just as An MC like? Obviously
- 42:29Speaker 1: you love Future best album of the year. Suppose my favorite? Yeah?
- 42:33Speaker 1: That's interesting? Ye ever ever all time? Overhap they like
- 42:39Speaker 1: one A, one B. That's interesting Future all time? For me?
- 42:44Speaker 1: He's the greatest club artist of all time. No, he's
- 42:46Speaker 1: a lyricist, and he's a lyric he's one of the
- 42:48Speaker 1: best songs. He's one of the best songwriters ever. But
- 42:50Speaker 1: for me is lyrics that relate to my life. Truth,
- 42:53Speaker 1: it probably doesn't relate to everyone else. So you're a
- 42:56Speaker 1: drug addletes. No, I'm not a drugs shit drugged out.
- 43:01Speaker 1: I can be toxic at times. Okay, that's right. I
- 43:04Speaker 1: can be toxic toxic. I love having fun. Yeah, I
- 43:08Speaker 1: love looking at life from different views. I love future,
- 43:12Speaker 1: I love women, I love vacations. I wouldn't put him.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I wouldn't put him in in the top ten though,
- 43:16Speaker 1: I just said he's mine. No person, I respect him
- 43:18Speaker 1: or personal Like I think remember that meme that was
- 43:21Speaker 1: going around like two years ago, and it was like
- 43:23Speaker 1: Field of Mount Rushmore in it was Drake, Kendrick and Cole.
- 43:27Speaker 1: I think Future is the fourth one of this generation.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I agree, Yeah, yeah, yeah, or yeah, not Travis Future,
- 43:36Speaker 1: it's Futureture, It's for sure future future, for sure. It's
- 43:39Speaker 1: not even close, not close future. Yeah, Because what was
- 43:44Speaker 1: twenty ten or eleven twenty ten? Is it twenty ten?
- 43:48Speaker 1: Oldest ship? It might have been twenty eleven. Might it's
- 43:52Speaker 1: twenty ten or twenty eleven, but either way, go No,
- 43:54Speaker 1: he's not a decade run and it's pretty crazy and
- 43:58Speaker 1: he's it's wild, still going, still going. And the new album,
- 44:01Speaker 1: like he had dropped a few albums recently that I
- 44:03Speaker 1: was like, but the new album, the new album was
- 44:05Speaker 1: the one. Yeah, that was great. He ain't ship for sure,
- 44:08Speaker 1: and he's probably like top six or seven most influential
- 44:12Speaker 1: guy ever in rap, top five. I wouldn't be mad
- 44:16Speaker 1: at five he got my album at five. I mean
- 44:18Speaker 1: he could at least put future she's top five most
- 44:20Speaker 1: influential because it's like it's it's probably like he was
- 44:23Speaker 1: your top five most influential in hip hop. I think
- 44:26Speaker 1: it's Tupac and I'm just not in no order Tupac
- 44:30Speaker 1: Hove actually not no, no, no no, not jay Z. I'm sorry.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Tweet jay Z's not tough. Wait wait wait wait, hold on,
- 44:38Speaker 1: I'm thinking in order, no wonder my album's number top
- 44:44Speaker 1: five influential. I was leasting them off in my head
- 44:49Speaker 1: in order. I think it's POC. I think like overall
- 44:52Speaker 1: in the game, like all time, like who made it
- 44:55Speaker 1: okay to really rap rock him? And I know that's
- 44:58Speaker 1: like some old head ship to say because that's before
- 45:00Speaker 1: my time. But he was like the first dude with
- 45:02Speaker 1: you on that because before rock Him, nobody was really
- 45:05Speaker 1: doing this right. Everywhere people walking on this Tupac, rock Him, Hove,
- 45:14Speaker 1: Kanye and Lila Wayne. I can't argue that because Kanye,
- 45:20Speaker 1: I cannot argue has changed music hip hop like four times.
- 45:24Speaker 1: I cannot argue that. And then it's like future Chief
- 45:26Speaker 1: Keith Drake Drake even now, I can't even say that
- 45:31Speaker 1: because musically he didn't want to get slipped on ace Hood.
- 45:35Speaker 1: I can't. Great guy, great, great physicus. So many people
- 45:39Speaker 1: stole ace Hood style. Yeah, people have made careers off
- 45:44Speaker 1: of ace Hood. So listen, don't say a statement like
- 45:46Speaker 1: that and not tell me who's stolen his style. A
- 45:48Speaker 1: lot of people give me one name. You do the
- 45:52Speaker 1: the Migos flow. The Migos flow comes from an ace
- 45:55Speaker 1: Hood style. Really, Yes, I guess I'm not listening to
- 46:00Speaker 1: listen to early ace Hood and listen to We're not
- 46:02Speaker 1: Gonna put in the top. I'm not saying you can
- 46:05Speaker 1: put them wherever you want to put them. What I'm
- 46:06Speaker 1: saying is he gets slept on has taken his style
- 46:11Speaker 1: and ran with it. There's early Meek Meals songs that
- 46:15Speaker 1: feel like I'm not seeing Meek store. They came at
- 46:18Speaker 1: the same time, so they kind of fed off each other.
- 46:20Speaker 1: But that style of hustle hard definitely under throwing my pocket,
- 46:27Speaker 1: numbing up profit, but not double up with my profit.
- 46:30Speaker 1: That whole flow came from Acehood the same way niggas
- 46:33Speaker 1: wrapped today. All right, well, a Hood gets his flowers today.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Shut very underrated, discography too, very underrated, very underrated, shut out,
- 46:41Speaker 1: most fit rapper, most fit. That motherfucker's yoked more than fifty. Yeah,
- 46:46Speaker 1: what did you see fifty hanging upside down at the
- 46:48Speaker 1: Super Bowl TV? Pushing weight on you? Though, man, Now,
- 46:52Speaker 1: Ace Hood is like a fucking specimen pause Like that
- 46:55Speaker 1: motherfucker is like a goddamn He's like the Rock. Have
- 46:58Speaker 1: you seen him lately? No, he's fucking jacked, really like Jack.
- 47:04Speaker 1: It's like it's like he should he should be like
- 47:07Speaker 1: fighting or playing football or something. He's fucking I knew
- 47:10Speaker 1: he was always like a fit. No, no, no, he's
- 47:12Speaker 1: like no, he fake guy. It's like him and method
- 47:14Speaker 1: man is him in the Rock? No, I'm talking about
- 47:17Speaker 1: hip hop like method Man is also pretty about him
- 47:19Speaker 1: and Diesel. I think Vin Diesel is probably more flabbyer
- 47:23Speaker 1: than Thehthood for sure. Yeah, what about the Rock and
- 47:26Speaker 1: Vin Diesel? The Rock is a fucking alien. Did you
- 47:30Speaker 1: see the baby that they was passing around in the crowd? Oh,
- 47:33Speaker 1: I think he meant the baby. I'm like, yeah, a
- 47:35Speaker 1: baby's kind of in all right shape. I guess yeah,
- 47:39Speaker 1: they crowdsurfed the baby. That was a newborn baby just
- 47:45Speaker 1: getting passed through a crowd to go to the Rock.
- 47:47Speaker 1: And the Rocks just like, this is weird. That was
- 47:50Speaker 1: some ship super well. That kid's parents need to be detained.
- 47:55Speaker 1: How do you feel about artists saying that they're blackball nowadays?
- 48:00Speaker 1: Speaking of the baby, some of them more. But what
- 48:06Speaker 1: does that mean? I think blackballed is when you've pissed
- 48:10Speaker 1: a certain person off that has the authority to make
- 48:12Speaker 1: a call to stop your emergence. I think it can
- 48:16Speaker 1: stop your momentum, for sure. But I think if you
- 48:18Speaker 1: have real fans, I don't think. But that's the problem.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Most people don't have real fans. They have fans of songs,
- 48:24Speaker 1: so when the sound dies out, so do they, and
- 48:27Speaker 1: they never build an underbelly. That's why I appreciate my
- 48:30Speaker 1: dog Jodan Lucas for taking me on this tour because
- 48:32Speaker 1: he's fans, yes, and it's allowing me to convert them
- 48:35Speaker 1: into Symber fans, and they're learning about me. And that's
- 48:38Speaker 1: why you got a guy like Tory who's always had
- 48:41Speaker 1: like that super strong or following. But Toy is a
- 48:44Speaker 1: different thing. See, but I'm saying Tory can say, you know,
- 48:48Speaker 1: I've been blackballed from Playlist, which has definitely happened, but
- 48:51Speaker 1: it doesn't matter because he's still had the best selling
- 48:53Speaker 1: album of the week. But he's an anomaly because that
- 48:56Speaker 1: motherfucker's talented show and everybody's not that talented. Most people
- 49:01Speaker 1: aren't as talented. Everybody ain't got that talent to be
- 49:04Speaker 1: able to wiggle through that ship. So some people they
- 49:07Speaker 1: kind of forced to take a back seat because they
- 49:10Speaker 1: can't do some of them things that he could do.
- 49:12Speaker 1: So he's he makes timeless music consistently like anomally. He's
- 49:17Speaker 1: an alien talented level person for sure. Everybody ain't got that.
- 49:21Speaker 1: That's real. Everybody ain't got that. And if you don't
- 49:24Speaker 1: have that and you're trying to cut through and you
- 49:26Speaker 1: didn't piss the wrong people off, going to be to Yeah,
- 49:28Speaker 1: I understand like what Russ was saying, because Russ was like,
- 49:31Speaker 1: you can't be blackball if there's the internet. He's right,
- 49:33Speaker 1: but he's also there's no context. Sometimes just say there's
- 49:40Speaker 1: no context to he's right, but that doesn't mean that
- 49:45Speaker 1: somebody can't stand in the way of opportunity that will
- 49:51Speaker 1: lave it like like elevate your whole entire ship, like,
- 49:54Speaker 1: which is why he is right and saying if you
- 49:56Speaker 1: have a core fan base, you'll be fine. Nobody can
- 49:58Speaker 1: blackball you, but you can if someone doesn't put you
- 50:02Speaker 1: on rap Cavear office. And I'm not saying that's ever happened.
- 50:05Speaker 1: I don't want to put that on car or anybody
- 50:07Speaker 1: over there. But somebod doesn't put you on a playlist
- 50:08Speaker 1: on purpose because something you did or you said, or
- 50:10Speaker 1: they don't like you and I and that's the only
- 50:13Speaker 1: reason they didn't put you on it. That playlist could
- 50:16Speaker 1: be the difference between an extra five million streams and
- 50:19Speaker 1: everybody's every The way everybody built their career is different.
- 50:23Speaker 1: So Russ had the ability to build his career through
- 50:27Speaker 1: SoundCloud and touring and building out and making different type
- 50:31Speaker 1: of records that somebody liked. The baby wouldn't get off
- 50:35Speaker 1: if he was in that position, you know what. And
- 50:37Speaker 1: the baby also came up with like a pretty solid
- 50:40Speaker 1: core foundation. No, for sure. But I'm just saying it's
- 50:43Speaker 1: gonna be tougher for somebody like the Baby than it
- 50:45Speaker 1: would be for us, right right. And there's a whole
- 50:48Speaker 1: bunch of different reasons that go into that. But everybody's
- 50:51Speaker 1: My whole point is everybody's journey is different, So you
- 50:55Speaker 1: just can't say that someone can't be black Ball. I
- 50:59Speaker 1: think I think both sides are correct because there's context
- 51:02Speaker 1: to both sides. It's two sides. You know what else
- 51:05Speaker 1: is important? Something you said earlier when you were tourn
- 51:07Speaker 1: with your artists. You're managing, you kind of have to
- 51:10Speaker 1: have people like want you to win. Oh yeah, like
- 51:13Speaker 1: people kind of have like either they have to like you,
- 51:16Speaker 1: or you gotta be Kanye West for sure. For sure,
- 51:18Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Toy is an anomaly or you
- 51:21Speaker 1: gotta be NBA Young Boy, where it's like it doesn't anomaly,
- 51:25Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, it's nothing you can do
- 51:27Speaker 1: NBA Young Boy just dropped the album what was it Friday?
- 51:31Speaker 1: I think he's put out one hundred and ten songs
- 51:33Speaker 1: this year. Okay, so listen to this, right NBA. Young
- 51:36Speaker 1: boy just put an album out Friday. Yeah, he just
- 51:39Speaker 1: announced another one today. It's crazy. There's nothing you could
- 51:43Speaker 1: do about it. Dwight. Is he helping keep the lights
- 51:45Speaker 1: on over there? He's contributing to those lights. Cardi ain't
- 51:49Speaker 1: dropped in a while. Shit shut out to Cardi because
- 51:52Speaker 1: she been flaming them versus oh my god, that tomorrow too,
- 51:55Speaker 1: versus crazy she killed that and she just killed the
- 51:58Speaker 1: munch beat. I haven't I saw she got on it.
- 52:00Speaker 1: I didn't hear it. Yeah, she's been killing versus Yeah
- 52:03Speaker 1: she's I'm excited to hear some new Cardi. You know
- 52:05Speaker 1: what I say about Cardi. Cardi delivers records. I don't
- 52:07Speaker 1: know if she's writing or not writing. I don't give
- 52:09Speaker 1: a fuck. She's delivering records, delivered so hard. It doesn't matter.
- 52:13Speaker 1: She doesn't. She doesn't have to write if she don't
- 52:15Speaker 1: want to. Yeah, and I'm sure you have you been
- 52:20Speaker 1: helping people with the pen behind the scenes. I haven't
- 52:22Speaker 1: been lately, but in the past, you know, that's kind
- 52:25Speaker 1: of I got my name though. Yeah, But lately, no,
- 52:29Speaker 1: I haven't. I really haven't been in the studio in
- 52:32Speaker 1: like the last few months, a couple of months. I
- 52:34Speaker 1: got in the other day because I'm working on some
- 52:36Speaker 1: stuff with the Warriors and I had a few features
- 52:39Speaker 1: to do. But and it was fun because I haven't
- 52:42Speaker 1: been in there in a minute, and I was kind
- 52:44Speaker 1: of liking results take time Molde to where I was
- 52:46Speaker 1: trying to make songs or Draymond's disk to Jordan pull No, no,
- 52:51Speaker 1: that's not coming. But it was fun to be in
- 52:57Speaker 1: the studio though. So I'm excited to get back in
- 53:00Speaker 1: and like being on the road. It's made me understand
- 53:06Speaker 1: different tempos and different sonics and like why certain records
- 53:11Speaker 1: hit a certain way they do. So I'm starting to
- 53:14Speaker 1: look for a different type of production going into this
- 53:16Speaker 1: next project. What is something you've learned from just being
- 53:19Speaker 1: around Joiner for a month? Man a lot bro I
- 53:25Speaker 1: would say he's got the best videos in the game.
- 53:28Speaker 1: He's got one of the best minds in the game.
- 53:31Speaker 1: His team is great. They're very focused, they pay attention
- 53:37Speaker 1: to detail, very close. They're very concerned about how the
- 53:42Speaker 1: fans received the show, even the music. They're always thinking
- 53:47Speaker 1: of ways to be innovative and on brand. But one
- 53:51Speaker 1: thing I remember after I think it was like the
- 53:54Speaker 1: third night. I kept like because I would kill, I'll
- 53:57Speaker 1: be killing every show and then I'll walk out. And
- 54:00Speaker 1: then it was one night where they was they was
- 54:02Speaker 1: like chatting like shim sim I walked off the stage
- 54:06Speaker 1: and he was like, yo, He's like, you gotta start
- 54:08Speaker 1: going out there taking pictures. But I'm thinking, like I'm thinking,
- 54:12Speaker 1: like shit, I gotta get out the way suit, you
- 54:15Speaker 1: know what I mean. He's like, nah, go out there
- 54:17Speaker 1: taking You don't want to be the guy who while
- 54:18Speaker 1: the headliners closing there's like a line of people trying
- 54:21Speaker 1: to take a picture exactly. That's how away from his shine.
- 54:24Speaker 1: He was like, nah, you gotta take the pictures. So
- 54:26Speaker 1: the next day I start taking the pictures and I
- 54:29Speaker 1: start watching my following go up. He came to me
- 54:32Speaker 1: the next day he was like, you gotta tell him
- 54:34Speaker 1: to tag you in the pictures. Yeah, you know what
- 54:36Speaker 1: I mean. And that's how you get them die hard. Yeah,
- 54:39Speaker 1: Like I went up like I think like one hundred
- 54:41Speaker 1: and twenty thousand followers just in the last month just
- 54:44Speaker 1: on the road album coming out. Yeah, yeah, Yeah, that
- 54:48Speaker 1: shit's crazy. It's been dope, bro, it's been a great
- 54:50Speaker 1: and you've been killing it on the scene. Shit, it's
- 54:52Speaker 1: crazy because you got the End the Game record. That
- 54:53Speaker 1: is my son's favorite song, really, yes, mad my eight
- 54:56Speaker 1: year old. Yeah, he's like loves that fucking song. It's dope.
- 55:00Speaker 1: We actually just got word that the NBA is going
- 55:03Speaker 1: to be doing something with that this season as well.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Nice and that's right here on the botlet giving a
- 55:08Speaker 1: song on your on your album, No it's out there, yeh.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Space Jamship was dope. Yep. Yeah. I feel like those
- 55:15Speaker 1: records do well because they're like all purpose records, and
- 55:20Speaker 1: me sometimes as an artist, I'd be so concerned about
- 55:23Speaker 1: building out who the simber fan is. I naturally try
- 55:25Speaker 1: to run away from them records on projects they like
- 55:29Speaker 1: build the fan base out, But I'm slowly starting to
- 55:32Speaker 1: see how they perform on the road, so I'm like,
- 55:35Speaker 1: I need to mix this in a little more. So
- 55:37Speaker 1: you the first project came out in December twenty twenty. Yeah,
- 55:40Speaker 1: we just got the newest Yeah, the Gangs the Grills, Yeah,
- 55:45Speaker 1: number number five album of the year. Correct. The fifth
- 55:48Speaker 1: best album of the year. Yeah, yeah, what an accomplishment
- 55:54Speaker 1: it is. It is a great accomplishing. I wrote all
- 55:56Speaker 1: those verses to be number five, guys. I mean that's
- 56:00Speaker 1: better than ninth. It's still fus anyway, Hey, what up?
- 56:06Speaker 1: Y'all's Bootleg keV here to stop the interview? Sorry, uh,
- 56:10Speaker 1: but we gotta pay the fucking bills. And you know,
- 56:12Speaker 1: not only do we have to pay the bills, but
- 56:14Speaker 1: we also got to take care of them cocks out there.

- 58:07Speaker 1: of work, It's not gonna be long, right, I'm literally
- 58:11Speaker 1: I was just talking to my team the other day,
- 58:13Speaker 1: like we finished tour tomorrow, I'm gonna chill my son
- 58:17Speaker 1: for a little bit, and we're about to get to Atlanta,
- 58:20Speaker 1: get to Miami, get to New York, go to Santa
- 58:23Speaker 1: Monica and get in with the Alchemists. Yeah yes, get
- 58:26Speaker 1: in with Dre, getting with Drag yeah yeah, get in
- 58:29Speaker 1: with a bunch of people. And I'm trying to I'm
- 58:31Speaker 1: trying to push something out like summer so before. Yeah,
- 58:37Speaker 1: but I'm gonna be dropping music singles. Yeah, it might
- 58:40Speaker 1: drop a four pack, a couple of two packs, but
- 58:43Speaker 1: the next project for sure, trying to get it out
- 58:46Speaker 1: before summer. For you, what do you feel like is
- 58:51Speaker 1: the biggest uphill battle being and don't say having your
- 58:55Speaker 1: album be number five, just being an artist and toda
- 59:00Speaker 1: day's landscape that is more on the lyrical side, that
- 59:04Speaker 1: is more like I always compare you to Jay Z
- 59:07Speaker 1: because I feel like you remind me so much of
- 59:09Speaker 1: him in terms of talent, but also in terms of persona. Like,
- 59:14Speaker 1: you guys are not trying really hard. You're just cool motherfuckers.
- 59:16Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. You're likable. But what is
- 59:19Speaker 1: the biggest challenge? Just being Simba and in today's hip
- 59:22Speaker 1: hop game, like like talk about that sometimes living in
- 59:28Speaker 1: the future too much. I've recently seen Kanye say something
- 59:34Speaker 1: where he was like, I might not be right. I'm
- 59:38Speaker 1: just not right right now. You know what I mean
- 59:41Speaker 1: to say, He's wrong about a couple of years right now.
- 59:44Speaker 1: What I don't know. The White Lives Matter. That was
- 59:45Speaker 1: a stretch, Okay, I got a take on that. Okay,
- 59:48Speaker 1: we'll get to that. Finish your finish your point, and
- 59:50Speaker 1: then we'll go there. Okay. Sometimes I feel like I
- 59:52Speaker 1: live in the future so much to where I'm thinking
- 59:56Speaker 1: so far beyond what's going on right now. I'm not
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: seeing what I can do to better my situation at
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: the moment. I'm always kind of thinking first, so I
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: drop a project and instead of like coming up with
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: all these different content ideas to continue to push the project.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: I'm already on Okay, this works for tour. They like
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: these drums, they like these sonics. This needs to be
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: the next sound. But I'm already moved on, Like Christmas
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: then already passed in my head. I already bought my
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: son gifts and now I'm getting everybody. So I'm in January,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: you know. And sometimes it's it hinders you because you
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: missing what's going on right in front of you. So
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I feel like that's one thing. And also like being
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: from the Bay and trying to be somebody that's doing
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: something a little different than what typically goes on in
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: the Bay is an uphill battle because sometimes you go
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: through these like who the fuck does he think he is?
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Versations right, you know, issues to where it's just like
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: I don't think I'm better than nobody. I'm just trying
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: to expand what the fuck it is we're doing all
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: the way around the board, right, And sometimes they could
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: get taken the wrong way, But I would say those
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: are the two three. I mean, if you think of
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: like the biggest rapper commercially besides MC hammer, Yeah, and
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: the forty obviously longevity, but it's g easy in terms
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: of just success now maybe not currently, it's not like
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: on fire, but I mean just peak, peak fame. You
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: know what I'm saying from the bay, from the Bay,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: peak fame. And I'm not telling you put mc hammer
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: too short? Yeah? What easy over too short? What do
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: you mean he headlined a a fucking eighteen thousand c
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: fucking tour. If you're using your white privilege right now, No, no, no,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: we're just talking about. What are you talking about? You'd
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: put g easy over too short? Yeah? Peak, you're fucking crazy,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: peak fame hit fucking crazy? What you're fucking crazy? No, no no, no,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: I'm not talking about you know how many people know
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: too short. I'm not talking about fame. I'm not talking
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: about longevity. I mean like, who had the highest peak?
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Gezy never had the peak? It too short? That that's
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: not true. Too short made the world say bitch, oh
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: my god, what are you talking about? Listen, what are
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: you talking about? Nah, what are we talking about? I'm
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: talking about peak peak, We're talking about Gez is never
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: bigger than too short. That's not true. No, at a moment, no, no,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: I can't. I can't agree with you. No, I love
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: too short. Too short is the coach you're getting into
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: one of my fad I'm not disagree. I said, Okay,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: if we're taking that's why I said E forty with
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: the longevity. But if we're talking about who had the craziest,
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: like too like, we're talking about this motherfucker's got a
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: diamond record, fine diamond, Pitt Bull got diamond records, and
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: maybe e Vanilli got diamond record. Listen, pit Bull is
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: arguably the biggest rapper from Miami. Ever, now, I'm not
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: saying I love Pippules music is probably the biggest pop
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: star from Miami. But he's not the biggest rapper. He's
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: also a rapper. Hey, he's a pop star, So what's
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: a drake? It's g easy. So you can't compare fucking
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: G eazy to cultural as too short. I'm not saying
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: too short is not the culture. And I'm not saying
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: too short isn't culturally more relevant and important. I'm not
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: saying too short is bigger, bro. I'm not saying, listen,
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: bigger than the culture. How about we compare the sales. Yeah,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: let's see. I just said, Okay, just too short to
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: of have a diamond single. It doesn't matter. It's blow
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: the whistle diamond. It might be I don't know. Let's
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: look that up. Is blow the whistle diamond Dwight. This
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: is a crazy conversation, KIV. You're you're crazy right now?
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: I am? Now about this? How about this? What's this?
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Name of g Z? Record me myself and I no limit?
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: What do you want me to do? Name with two short?
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Rigor blow the whistle? Getting it? Oh? You're gonna do that?
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: What do you want You're gonna do that? Okay? Cocktails?
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Let's see what we're doing cuss words? What do you
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: want me to do? I see what you're doing? Too short? Bro?
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: As a kid, and this is no offense to g
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: because I fuck with you. I love too short. Gee,
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: we're talking about I love to not bigger than too short.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: I'm not saying overall. I mean, like at the peak, no,
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: who was who was doing arenas from the bay? Imagine
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: fucking too short with social media in the nineties. Bro,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: We're not we can't we can't do that, okay, but
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: we can imagine Gezy with social media, right, So we
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: can't take that away? Okay? Okay? So can I just
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: ask you one question, who's headlined arenas in the United
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: States outside of the Bay. Since MC hammer, I'm asking
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: from the Bay a rapper. It's only one answer. It's
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: GZ from the Bay this headline. But jeez, he's a
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: pop star and he's a rapper. No, he's a pop star. Okay,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: that's fair. Rap music, bro, he's a pop star. Okay,
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: But but but can you answer the question to the answer?
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I just I just answered answered. I don't know a rapper,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: but was who is it? So answer the question? Who's
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: the rapper? Pop star? G Okay, she's the same guy
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: who brought forty on the Road. I am Sue on
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: the Road, Kaylanne on the Road, Peelo on the Road,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: brought the Bay up like it's people who wouldn't have
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: a sustainable career. Since MC hammer, we can agree that
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: the only rapper to headline arena is across the country
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: since I'm Hammer, Because you got people like I'm not
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: going to hammer. I need to do my research. I
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: gotta do my research. I can't just who was it?
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Who else? I don't know right off the bat. But
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: he's a pop star and he's a rapper, rapper, He's
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: a pop star. He's a rapper. He's a pop star.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Bro name one rapper that could fucking make me myself
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: a nun uh uh fucking Drake could make that song. Man.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Drake's a pop star, Okay, Drake's also around breaks, a legends,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: a phenomenal rap. He's incredible. He's a top tier, top
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: tier for sure, But he's a pop star. Logic could
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: have made myself know he fucking wouldn't logic. He made
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: the suicide record that ship was hard, but it wouldn't
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: mean myself and I. So, so you're saying he could
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: make that because he had no So he's cool enough
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: as G to sell it, how G because because he
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: made a song that win. Who's a better rapper? G
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: or logic? I think logic is better? Okay yeah, lyrically logic.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: He's a pop star bro, but he's a rapper. He
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: raps on pop records. No No Limit is a rap song,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Random is a rap song? What are we talking about?
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: Was Cardi B song Man? West Coast is a rap song? So,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: so I won, just so we know you didn't win.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: He didn't win. I'm gonna do my research because of
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: what I didn't say. Was. I did not say too
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Short wasn't bigger in the culture and more important, I
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: didn't say that. I'm saying metrically at their peak, it's gazy,
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: and he made records that weren't. And but he also
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: made some barrier shiit he made by calm down and
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: you might you're right. He is white, so he had
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: a lot of too Short can't do some of that
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: ship gzn. He's a pop star, bro, I don't listen
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: we we. I was trying to bring the conversation around
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: to saying that g was huge because he made non
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: traditional Bay music like No Limit is not it's eighty
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: a BPNs. Yes, but think about okay, think if a
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: black person made the same music. Mad, You're right, I
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: wouldn't work. I'm not saying you're you're right. I agree fully.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: So he's a pop star. He's a white rap rapper
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: because rappers don't have the privilege to do what pop
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: stars do. Eminem is a white rapper. Who if somebody
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: imagine if somebody like Eminem or just as if some
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: doesn't get the I agree, But we can't just take
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: them out of You can't ignore the numbers. That's all
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: I'm saying I'm right saying they're enhanced because of a
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: certain demographic. You're right, That's what I'm saying. Can it
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: be true that both of us are right? No, because
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I'm top five on the Albums of the Year, so
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: somebody gotta win. So we're both right, We're both right.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: We'll agree to disagree. White Lives Matter. Tell me your
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: take on Kanye's T shirt. Okay, a white man owns
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: the slogan black Lives Matter? What if Kanye owns the
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: slogan white Lives Matter? Can I break some news right now? Okay,
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: my best friend in the entire world is a black man?
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Ramses owns White Lives Matter? Is he linked with Kanye? No? Well,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: I don't know. Kanye don't own it, but a black
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: man does. A black man owns White lives matter? Right now?
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: So Kanye is promoting black businesses? Yeah, I mean I
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: don't think Kanye knew that because he just bought the
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: fun What if he did know? You don't think it's
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: a little like a like Uh, I'm not saying greet right,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: I'm just saying, instead of us all bashed, let's see
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: what's the madness behind it? Like, does he own this slogan.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: I know Candice Owens has a documentary coming out about
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: all the money Black Lives Matters stole from people? Is
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: this merch for that? So my thing is is a
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: couple of things can be right. One, Black Lives Matter
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: the organization, Yes, clearly bullshit some bullshit, yes, right, Yes,
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: I donated. I Also I'm glad I talked to Killer
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Mike when all that was happening, because he told me
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: who to give money to, and I give it to
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: like not like I gave it to money went to
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: Joe Biden whoever went So that's true, right, Yes, the
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: fucking foundation is obviously corrupt. Yes. What also is true
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: is the term Black Lives Matter is factual, and the
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: reason why it became a thing was because it is
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: pretty evident that in the United States, black lives have
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: never been valued in the same way white lives have
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: been valued. Right, So I think in the spawn of
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: like Black Lives Matter becoming this movement that a lot
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: of old white people associated with riots and violence and shit,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: white Lives Matter became the opposite, or All Lives Matter
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: became like the super like crazy redneck trump maga hat
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: wearing ass thing. To say, so the term white lives
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: matter is also true. White lives matter, sure they do.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: All lives matter, all lives, of course, all lives. But
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: I just think that that when you say white lives matter,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: it's not just them, like what Kanye said on Tucker Carlson.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: I said it because it's true, like he's not wrong,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: But at the same time, like the symbolism of wearing that,
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: I think that's where it gets combative because it's like
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: exactly what you're saying. It comes across as you're going
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: against just to do it just But I don't think
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: at the level Kanye's that, and you know, I could
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: be wrong that he would just do that. To do that,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I think there's definitely some type of method behind it,
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: and there's something coming behind I don't know what it is.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: But what I'm going to say is until I fully know,
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: I'm not just going to develop an opinion and just
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: be like, oh, fuck Kanye because he wore a white
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Lives manager, I want to see what's the medic behind it. Now,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: if it's solely him just being a dick, you know
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: what I mean, and want to be eco bad of,
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: then I'm not for that. But if it is something
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: behind it, the way he's trying to change the narrative,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: let's see how. And I understood like his reasoning for
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: wearing the Trump hat because I think he is I
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: didn't get that. So I understood it because he essentially
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: was saying, you don't have to like the Democratic Party
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: has taking advantage of the black vote forever. For sure.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: The whole reason why Joe Biden is a president is
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: because I think it was the South Carolina. Has anybody
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: seen Kamala Harris? She's from your city, right, has anybody
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: seen her? I don't know, man, I haven't seen her
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: since she was Yes, Joe, we did it. We did it, Joe,
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: I haven't seen her. I'd like to see you outside.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: But I think him wearing the Maga hat was a
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: point to be made that hey, we're not automatic, like
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: think freely, think to yourself just because you're black. But
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: that's Kanye, Yeah, that's Kanye. I think sometimes he's so
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: much of a Ford thinker, right, it gets the message
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: gets lost because of the way it's communicated at times.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: I don't think he means any harm. I think he's
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: a disruptor, right, I think he's a creative genius. I
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: just think sometimes he communicates his message in a confusing
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: way to certain people. But I don't think we should
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: bash him for it. I think we should hear him out,
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: see how it plays out, what happens, and if we
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: don't agree, we don't agree. You know. If you do agree, cool,
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: If not, move on, we gotta stop the interview. Tell
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: you about our partners at odd Socks. Well, first of all,

- 1:13:34Speaker 1: shoe off. I'm about to take what is this? Smells
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: great too? That's an adesock right there, that's an odesock basic.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. We fuck with odd Socks.

- 1:14:27Speaker 1: of course, represented by odd Socks, and we are proud
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: to say so. All right, let's get back to the interview.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Have you ever like heard of Kanye fucking with your
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: shit at all? Or I worked with Kanye? You've worked
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: with him? Yeah? I worked on Donda for four days
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: in the Mercedes ben Stadium. Wow, what the best experiences
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: in my life. That's why I said I can't just
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: bash him because you've been around him. You know him
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: is something to it, Like he's always thinking forty that's
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: when he was living there, right, Yeah, Yeah, he was
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: there for forty Well, he was there for like a month,
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: but I was there for four days. And watch him
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: write a song, go in another room doing melody, Go
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: in another room and design a building. Going to cafeteria
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: and have a meeting with Belinciaga about what the fashion
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: show needs to look like in twenty twenty five. Yeah,
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: go to rehearsals, go to choreography, go back in the
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: room and tell them joints to make a beat. Take
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: a certain part of that beat and send it to
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: eighty eight keys. Like he's he's just a creative guy,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: you know. So it's like I can't being around somebody
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: like that. It's hard to just say they're coming from
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: a place of malice, that's fair. You know, you kind
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: of gotta see it all the way through because you
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: might not have the full information contact. Yeah, so I
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: gotta wait and see. I don't I don't know. I
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: can't just make an opinion being around Kanye and Doctor Dre. Yeah,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: creative processes I've heard on each side are insane, Like,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: what was the biggest difference I heard Dre's perfectionists like
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: a crazy perfectionist. Dre is somebody I would say that
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: it was where he wants to go and take time
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: to get there. Kanye is somebody that takes time to
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: get to where he doesn't want to go. Don't know
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: where he want to go yet, Like the journey is
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: the journey free right, right, So he might always known, yeah,
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: Like he might hear a beat and like, for instance,
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: I did a certain melody in a cadence right, and
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: I did a rap to it. He didn't like the words,
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: but he liked the cadence right. And then he heard
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: a specific beat and he only liked about four bars
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: of the beat, and then he took that four bars,
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: sent it to another producer, and then changed it. So
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: you ever noticed when his songs that play for like
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: eight bars and then do something like doom doom, doom,
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: doom doom do then it change. That's like four or
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: five different producers all on one idea. So he might
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: take one part of this beat, one part of this beat,
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: one part of his beat, and figure out way how
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: to mess him and then do the song on top
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: of that and still bringing a Mike Dean or a
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Travis Scott or somebody like that to take it to
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: the next level. So with him, it's just constant creativity.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: But Dre is like, I know where I'm going, Like
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: I know how this need to sound, I know how
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: this need to feel, I know what I want to say,
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: I know what I want to do. He takes his
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: time to get there. With Kanye, is just free lance
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: till we figure it out. From what I've seen. Wow,
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: that's dope. I mean because both of those guys are
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: We always hear about the processes being so incredible, some
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: of the greatest to ever do it. What is your
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: top five rap albums of all time? Simba Top five
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: rap albums no order, in no order and no order
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: fifty Get Rich of Dad Trying. Oh yeah, Kanye was
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: the college dropout, jay Z the blueprint, okay over reasonable
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: doubt hunh Yeah, I'm a blueprint guy. That's fair. That's fair.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Doug Motivation one on one, great album. I think Thug
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: Motivation one on one is better than ye Madic. I
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: respect your opinion. I don't agree, but I respect it.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: Why don't you agree? I just like Illmatic e Maadics.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: Why because everybody says it's a classic. I mean, now,
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: he's my favorite MC of all time. When was the
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: last time he lives in Deal Madic? Yesterday? I was
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: listening to New York State of Mind is a fucking
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: hip hop er, that's all. What do you want for me? Man?
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: It's a hip hoper, man, it's ten songs, it's a
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: hipoper no I love, I love listen TM one on
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: one is fucking exquisite. I listen to that album more
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: than I Madic. I think still Madic is better than
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: yill Madic. You see, the thing is is there's a
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: song on still Matic called Brave Heart Party feature Mary J.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Blige that is one of the worst NOA songs ever,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: And it's just that song's fucking terrible, and just the
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: fact that that is on Steal Maatic takes it out
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: of the conversation. In fact, it's such a terrible song
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: that when they repressed Steal Madic like two years later,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: they took it off. Have you ever heard of someone
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: doing that? Imagine the song being so shitty that there
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: are certain versions you buy and it's just not there anymore.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: It's almost like the Trey song song on teflon Don. Fuck,
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: that song's garbage. It's like the only it's like the
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: the only song on teflon Don. That's like I got you. Yeah,
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: I would say you got one more college drop Thug Motivation,
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Get rich Get Richard Trying, and future Monster Monster. I mean,
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: he is your favorite rapper, right, so it'd only be
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: right if you had him included in your top five.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Not quite an album though it was on that pit
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: for a very long time. Album. That's just during the
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: time we call everything mixed tapes because it was free
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: to U blot. That's fair. I respect it. I got
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: to get rid of that Trying in my top five,
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: I got. I got the Reasonable Doubt though over Blueprint,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: and I have I have late registration over Blue Guy
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: because I'm somebody that likes simplistic lyricism, so I felt
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: like Reasonable Doubt was so lyrical, like it's a hard
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: listen for me. But Blueprint it's like very digestible. Also,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: I got Doggie Style in there. Doggy Styles definitely, Yeah,
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: definitely in the top It's up there for sure. And
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: then my beautiful dark twist of Fantasy that's one of
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: the greatest hip hop's albums. I actually think it's the
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: greatest ever. It's not my favorite Kanye album, but it
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: might be. It's probably it might be the most perfect
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: album the rappers ever made. It might be. I think
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: that is like one of the greatest album But like
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: you said, it's not my personal favorite. My personal Kanye
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: favorite is college dropout or I look, really, registration. What
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: was the next one? Graduating? Graduation? College drop out and
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: graduation is my favorite. Yeah that's fair, all right? So
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: the album is out? Yeah, results take time, number five
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: album in the world compared to Blueleg if the top
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: five album of the year man top five? Thanks, I'm
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: just you know, kid out here number five. I mean,
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: there's plenty of years Lebron was fitting MVP voting. It's
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: not fair. How you be the best player in the
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: world and you're just number five. Sounds like what I'm
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: going through here at the Bootleg cam show. Ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: You could be the best in the world and be
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: number five. So the number five album of the year
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: is out, you could go support it. Yeah, and maybe
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: it's in your top one. Yeah, yeah, it could be.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: It could be. It's you. It's your favorite album. I
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: think it's one. Yeah, I don't. I don't think it's
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: a project out with that much balance. And then you
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: got Futures album number two Yeah yeah, and Fred and
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Kendrick and j I D. Push Your T's album was
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: crazy and Push your T. Yeah, I just said, what
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: was it like getting pushed on on that record? Because
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: that record it was dope, man, because you know me
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: and push knew each other for a minute. Yeah, so
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: it was it was it was dope because it took
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: us a minute to find the right record to do.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: But once we kind of like, once I made that.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: I'm glad you put the original first though, because I
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: love I love the verse that got left off the
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: Pusher one. Yeah. Yeah, first verse, the first verse the
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: best verse because it's so relatable to Cali. Yeah, like
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: that's but that's originally when I was writing the song,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: I was writing it from a perspective of I was
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: originally about to make it this comparison between La and
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: the Bay, right, That's what I felt like, And it
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: first took a turn into like all the things we
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: do to get money to never end up broke. That's
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: tight there, it is, Manok. The tours about the end.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: By the time this comes out, the tour be over. Definitely. Man,
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: thank you to my brother Jodan Lucas. You know, that's
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: that's become my real homie while we've been on this road.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: I appreciate him like a motherfucker man. He's taught me
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: a lot, gave me a big opportunity, helped me gain
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: a lot of new fans. Tours been great. I'm excited
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: to get back in the studio and just bro, can
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: we get some merch? Yeah? About that? What's up with
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: the merch? Bro? I'm like over here trying to like, yo,
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: can I like, there's no fucking merch? What are you doing?
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: You're on tour. You should be selling t shirts every
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: fucking tour stop. The merch got fucked up. The merch
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: got fucked up? Was that because of Atlantic. It was
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: nothing to do with Atlantic. It was the company that
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: we decided to run with ended up fucking the merch up,
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: and it was a long back order and this whole thing.
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: So we went with a new company and got new
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: designs and we'll be having you guys missed out on
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: a lot of money on the road. Yeah, I'm not
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: really worried about the money though. The money well, you know,
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: but you also it's kind of cool to know that
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: there's like somebody in Saint Louis or whatever the fuck
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: for sure, but I don't never want to give people
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: some ship just to make money off of them. I
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: want people to have a quality T shirt, quality Swiss
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: suit or whatever. I'm assuming The merch was just was it?
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: Was it like you said, it was a supply chain thing. Yeah,
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: but it just wasn't right. It didn't It didn't come
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: out right, didn't look good. The quality didn't really look
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: look as great as we were told it would look.
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: And me, I wouldn't want to sell people something that
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: I wouldn't wear, you know what I mean. I mean,
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: if I'm not gonna wear it, why would I sell
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: it to you? And I just felt like it wasn't
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: something I would wear. So that's beautiful, man. That quality
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: control make it separate you from a lot of people. Yeah,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: so we got we got some merch on the way though,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: it'll be here. Let's put the album cover. No, no, no,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: we got some We got some ship. You could wear
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: it to the club, all right, some fly ship there
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: it is Simba appreciate you. Shout out to the Bootleg
