- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So we're talking today about money and money mindset because
- 0:35this time of year it comes up constantly and it doesn't just
- 0:39come up in client calls. It comes up in conversations
- 0:42with friends, in conversations with my kids.
- 0:45It comes up all the time. And there is a, there is a real
- 0:50connection between feeling safe and money.
- 0:54Yes, look at that. He really took that on.
- 0:57Timing is everything sometimes, but there really is a main
- 1:00connection between safety and security and money.
- 1:05And should it be that way? No, but that's the way it is.
- 1:08And we have to, we have to recognize that in this world
- 1:12that we live in, in this world that we have constructed, it is
- 1:15not Star Trek where you don't have to focus on money and you
- 1:19do what you know, what drives you.
- 1:21And there's a whole science behind the fact that, that, that
- 1:24even if that was that way, there is a grand chance that people
- 1:27would become lazy and not have anything to resist against.
- 1:31Therefore they would not be successful.
- 1:34And it it it. And I truly, I truly believe
- 1:39that as much as I love to say I'm an idealist, I believe that
- 1:43people need to have that push and that desire in order to go.
- 1:47You have to have purpose and purpose drives you.
- 1:50And money is part of that purpose that keeps us going.
- 1:54Now, it's not always the purpose For some people, they don't have
- 1:58to worry about it. They are independently wealthy
- 2:00one way or another. Maybe they inherited money.
- 2:03Who cares? It doesn't make a difference.
- 2:05What matters is going into this season, your beliefs around
- 2:08money and do you believe in abundance and do you believe
- 2:12that you have more than enough? Do you believe that you are
- 2:16struggling because you are actually struggling?
- 2:19Do you believe that money is a horrible thing?
- 2:22What are your beliefs around money?
- 2:24And it all gets triggered around this time of the year when we
- 2:27are asked to give, asked to donate, asked to buy people
- 2:30presents. We feel obligations and we just
- 2:34sometimes don't want to do it and we feel like, oh, I have to
- 2:37do it. And if you feel that that
- 2:38language is coming up in your head, I have to do this, then
- 2:42it's time to explore. It's time to figure out what's
- 2:46the reason for that? Where is that coming from?
- 2:48What is it telling you? And do you want to listen to it?
- 2:52Because I'm a big proponent of listening to what your your talk
- 2:56is. You know, we've mind chatter is
- 3:00annoying as hell. I am the first person to admit
- 3:03it. I can't stand it.
- 3:04However. However, the gift in it is that
- 3:07there are always threads of what's going on behind the
- 3:09scenes because they, the, all the emotions on the bus can't
- 3:12shut up. So they're chattering.
- 3:14And when you listen to the chatter, you have clues to your
- 3:18beliefs, the ideals that you're focusing on, where your head is
- 3:22going. It's all back there.
- 3:24You just have to pull it out and look at it.
- 3:26And, and that's the hard part for most people.
- 3:29They don't want to pull it out. They don't want to look at it.
- 3:31They don't want to think about it.
- 3:32And they kind of get in this headspace of like, I just, I'm
- 3:36just going to do it. And and then they are
- 3:38exacerbated, especially when they have to pay the bills and
- 3:41they look at how much they've spent.
- 3:43And that is the frustrating part.
- 3:46And it's if you don't have money set aside, which most people do
- 3:51not have money set aside to say, hey, this is what I'm doing for
- 3:56Christmas presents that may be something or holiday presents of
- 3:59whatever, you know, you celebrate it.
- 4:01It is a grand idea to start separating your money out into
- 4:06separate accounts throughout the year so that when something
- 4:09comes up, you don't have to worry about it.
- 4:11It's just like I have a tax account.
- 4:13I put money in there to pay taxes and then I'm all set.
- 4:17I have a house tax account. So when I owe money on my house,
- 4:20I have that set aside. And and then I don't feel like
- 4:24I'm taking it away from myself as much as it's in its
- 4:27designated spot. But that's a future paced
- 4:31resolution right now in this moment.
- 4:33The resolution is to make decisions that serve you, that
- 4:37are smarter, that are not going to stress you out in a month
- 4:41when the bill comes in. And it doesn't mean that you
- 4:43don't give people acknowledgments and things that
- 4:46matter. It means that you're smart about
- 4:48what you're doing. It means that you might have to
- 4:50do more thoughtful gifts. You know, like I have a couple
- 4:54of people who send gifts out to me and they are the most
- 4:58thoughtful gifts. They are cookies and fudge and
- 5:01they are I, I get so excited when those cookies and that
- 5:05fudge shows up. I get so excited because I know
- 5:09they took the time to make those.
- 5:11Not only are they delicious and I have to to hide them from my
- 5:13family, but it's such a thoughtful gift to know.
- 5:18And this is the part that I'm talking about.
- 5:21This goes back to that old world thought process of what can I do
- 5:25that makes that person know that I actually love them.
- 5:28And I didn't just go and say, oh, let me buy a gift that you
- 5:31gave me off of a list of things that you wanted because it's not
- 5:36the same thing. It's simply not the same thing.
- 5:39So think about that before you start purchasing.
- 5:41Think about your money. Believe leaves around the
- 5:43purchase, maybe immediately set up the account so that next year
- 5:48you don't have to worry about that process of worrying about
- 5:51the money. Even if you put $10 a week in
- 5:53it, it doesn't matter. There's going to be something
- 5:56there that you don't have now, and that's a huge thing.
- 5:59So if you start doing it now, you've got some sort of solution
- 6:02going into it. And then just think this year,
- 6:05thoughtful think, heartfelt think, love.
- 6:08What can I do? Because, well, that might not
- 6:11make a difference that you believe won't make a difference
- 6:14to them. Most likely it will.
- 6:16OK my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I will see you
- 6:19all tomorrow. Bye.
