Speaker 1: Hey, what's happening everybody. Welcome into this edition of The
• 0:12
Speaker 1: check Odaily. It's Andrew de Checo. Gonna be a little
• 0:15
Speaker 1: bit of a shorter podcast today, but I want to
• 0:18
Speaker 1: go over the news and notes from Friday, and every
• 0:22
Speaker 1: player on the Eagles fifty three man roster was present
• 0:26
Speaker 1: and accounted for well, except for linebacker Johadde Campbell who.
• 0:28
Speaker 2: Was excused for personal reasons.
• 0:31
Speaker 1: But tight end Grant Kalkatra, who had the illness and
• 0:33
Speaker 1: miss Thursday's practice, was out there and everyone else is
• 0:38
Speaker 1: gonna be good to go in all likelihood for.
• 0:43
Speaker 2: Sunday against the Broncos. And so at this point in
• 0:48
Speaker 2: at this stage of the season week.
• 0:49
Speaker 1: Five, to have everyone be able to be full go,
• 0:54
Speaker 1: Grant Calcatira, Jayalen Carter with the shoulder, Nakobe Dean with
• 0:58
Speaker 1: the knee, tight end Dallas Goddard with the knee, cornerback
• 1:01
Speaker 1: of Dori Jackson groin, tackle Lane Johnson's shoulder, all of
• 1:05
Speaker 1: them are going to be full go.
• 1:07
Speaker 2: Now there's a little bit of a caveat.
• 1:12
Speaker 1: Linebacker na Kobe Dean with the knee. He was limited
• 1:16
Speaker 1: on Wednesday and Thursday. Remember on Wednesday they opened his
• 1:19
Speaker 1: twenty one day practice window, which gives the Eagles twenty
• 1:23
Speaker 1: one days to figure.
• 1:24
Speaker 2: Out what they're going to do with Nikobe Dean.
• 1:26
Speaker 1: Are they going to activate him or in fact shut
• 1:29
Speaker 1: him down for the season. Well, on Friday morning, n
• 1:32
Speaker 1: Kobe Dean gave us a hint as to what this
• 1:34
Speaker 1: week was going to hold, and he posted on his
• 1:36
Speaker 1: Instagram story that he won't be activated this week against
• 1:41
Speaker 1: the Broncos, but also added control what I control, and
• 1:45
Speaker 1: that's what he said on Wednesday when he spoke to
• 1:47
Speaker 1: us in the locker room. But this is interesting because
• 1:52
Speaker 1: he's not going to be of active this week. Next week,
• 1:55
Speaker 1: the Eagles have Thursday Night football against the Giants at
• 1:58
Speaker 1: MetLife Stadium. Going to be walkthroughs leading up to that practice,
• 2:03
Speaker 1: so it's hard to gauge where Nakobe is in terms
• 2:06
Speaker 1: of his recovery process in a walkthrough. And I'm not
• 2:09
Speaker 1: so sure that the Eagles will want to put Nacobe
• 2:11
Speaker 1: Dean out there for his first game action on that
• 2:14
Speaker 1: MetLife Stadium turf. Again, we'll have to wait and see,
• 2:18
Speaker 1: but it seems like the most logical for na Kobe
• 2:22
Speaker 1: Dean to make his debut would be against the Minnesota
• 2:25
Speaker 1: Vikings the following week, and and that's gonna that's cutting
• 2:30
Speaker 1: it relatively close to that, to that window.
• 2:32
Speaker 2: But you know, if you kind of connect.
• 2:36
Speaker 1: The dots here, it's it's you know, walkthroughs are very
• 2:39
Speaker 1: difficult to see where he had, where he is in
• 2:42
Speaker 1: terms of how his knee is feeling, where he is
• 2:45
Speaker 1: in terms of his recovery, and that MetLife Stadium turf,
• 2:49
Speaker 1: it's hard for me to look past that and just
• 2:52
Speaker 1: cast that aside. I mean that is you just saw
• 2:55
Speaker 1: what unfortunately happened to wide receiver Moliku Neighbors last week
• 2:58
Speaker 1: and Sydney Brown even at the finale of the twenty
• 3:02
Speaker 1: twenty three season. So it's a difficult playing surface. And
• 3:07
Speaker 1: for someone like Nikobe, who is extremely valuable and I
• 3:10
Speaker 1: think he's gonna be able to help this team, I'm
• 3:12
Speaker 1: not sure that it would be it would serve the
• 3:15
Speaker 1: Eagles well to put him out there.
• 3:18
  Speaker 2: Under those circumstances.
• 3:20
Speaker 1: But it was great to see Nakobe out there as
• 3:22
Speaker 1: a limited participant for two days. He's moving well, he's optimistic,
• 3:27
Speaker 1: he's positive, one of the most positive.
• 3:30
Speaker 2: Players I've been around, and always a pleasure to speak
• 3:33
  Speaker 2: to him.
• 3:35
Speaker 1: So he's in a good place, but now it just
• 3:37
Speaker 1: becomes when are they going to activate him?
• 3:41
Speaker 2: So we'll see. We'll have to wait and see.
• 3:45
Speaker 1: But the Eagles also made some more practice squad moves,
• 3:48
Speaker 1: and again this is as I like to term it
• 3:50
Speaker 1: as the practice squad churns. They brought back cornerback Eli
• 3:55
Speaker 1: Rix and edge rusher Antoine Powell Ryland who they both
• 4:00
Speaker 1: who they just released just a day before that, and
• 4:03
Speaker 1: signed kJ Henry to the practice squad, and defensive tackle
• 4:08
Speaker 1: Jacob Sykes. You know, I got a lot of questions
• 4:12
Speaker 1: about this, and I think a lot of it boils
• 4:14
Speaker 1: down to you're on the practice squad for a day,
• 4:17
Speaker 1: you're on the you're there for a day during the week,
• 4:20
Speaker 1: and you're paid for.
• 4:22
  Speaker 2: The entire week.
• 4:23
Speaker 1: So it may just be the Eagles way of being
• 4:26
Speaker 1: able to take care of some of their guys and
• 4:30
Speaker 1: and give them incentive to stick around and want to
• 4:33
Speaker 1: be a part of their practice squad should anything arise,
• 4:37
Speaker 1: and maybe more of a of a long term maybe
• 4:41
Speaker 1: more of a long term scenario later in the season.
• 4:43
Speaker 1: You just never know. But I think that's something that
• 4:45
Speaker 1: the Eagles do, perhaps better than any team, is that
• 4:50
Speaker 1: they always Everything that they do has a tinge of
• 4:55
Speaker 1: emotional intelligence to it and always looking to do right
• 4:59
Speaker 1: when ever possible. So Eli Rix is back, Antoine Powell
• 5:04
Speaker 1: Ryland is back for this week on the Practice Squad,
• 5:07
Speaker 1: and who knows, you may end up seeing Jacob Sykes.
• 5:09
Speaker 1: You're likely going to see Jacob Sykes back on the
• 5:12
Speaker 1: practice Squad at some point, and the same goes for
• 5:16
Speaker 1: kJ Henry at that especially with the Eagles being so
• 5:19
Speaker 1: light at edge Rusher.

Speaker 3: made for Philly fans twenty one and up.
• 8:54
Speaker 1: I also wrote a story on Inside the Birds dot
• 8:55
Speaker 1: com where I spoke to the egos new long snapper,
• 9:00
Speaker 1: well Adamitas. Great story. Really enjoyed my conversation with him.
• 9:05
Speaker 1: Will be the Eagles long snapper for probably the next
• 9:07
Speaker 1: couple of months. Based off of what agent Brett Tresler
• 9:11
Speaker 1: put out there on X regarding his client Charlie Hewlett,
• 9:15
Speaker 1: who was placed on injury reserve earlier this week with
• 9:17
Speaker 1: a core injury, he said that surgery was successful and
• 9:22
Speaker 1: that he should be back in a couple back to
• 9:24
Speaker 1: playing football in a couple of months, but for right
• 9:26
Speaker 1: now that's cal Adamitas's job, and I'll be keeping an
• 9:29
Speaker 1: eye on that Sunday at one o'clock.
• 9:32
Speaker 2: And one of the things that I highlighted in.
• 9:34
Speaker 1: That story, I asked Cal about some of the challenges
• 9:38
Speaker 1: that joining a new operation with so little time before
• 9:42
Speaker 1: the game can present, and he offered a really enlightening
• 9:45
Speaker 1: answer to that and said that things have been going
• 9:48
Speaker 1: really good right now. He's trying to match the energy
• 9:50
Speaker 1: of Jake Elliott and Braden Man and really learn with
• 9:55
Speaker 1: how they like things to be done. And that's something
• 9:57
Speaker 1: that Charlie Hewlett said as well. He said, I'm just
• 10:00
Speaker 1: coming in here and trying to adapt to what they
• 10:02
Speaker 1: want to do. And for Cal, he has a really
• 10:05
Speaker 1: good perspective on being a specialist in the NFL, knowing
• 10:11
Speaker 1: that you have to continuously work your craft and never
• 10:14
Speaker 1: get too comfortable. So he's sort of implementing that and
• 10:18
Speaker 1: carrying that with him to Philadelphia and his latest stop.
• 10:21
Speaker 1: You'll have to read the story to figure out how
• 10:23
Speaker 1: he found out that he was going to be signing
• 10:26
Speaker 1: with the Eagles. He had a couple of workouts on
• 10:27
Speaker 1: the docket and they were canceled. You'll have to read
• 10:30
Speaker 1: the story, but that's on inside the Birds dot Com.
• 10:33
Speaker 1: I'll have something for you tomorrow when I figure out
• 10:36
Speaker 1: who the practice squad elevations are going to be and
• 10:39
Speaker 1: how that may ultimately factor into the game plan, and
• 10:42
Speaker 1: offer some final thoughts on Eagles Broncos. But for right now,
• 10:45
Speaker 1: that's going to do it for this edition of the
• 10:47
Speaker 1: Czech O Daily. I am Andrew Decheco, and I will
• 10:49
Speaker 1: talk to everybody on Saturday.
• 10:52
  Speaker 2: Take care,
