- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken. Coupe.
- 0:31So I want to talk to you today about your language and I'm not
- 0:36talking about having a potty mouth because I have a potty
- 0:38mouth. I try to really control it on
- 0:40the podcast but let's just say I don't doesn't always work out.
- 0:44Well I grew up in the Northeast and I just had a potty mouth.
- 0:50Anyway today we're talking about your language patterns and what
- 0:54they reveal about you and catching yourself is so
- 1:00imperative. This is the key to figuring out
- 1:04your mat. So if you're not working with
- 1:06someone that can catch you, you have to do it yourself.
- 1:09You have to be willing to hear yourself and say I'm going to be
- 1:12super observant of how I'm speaking what I'm saying and in
- 1:17my living in a state of disrepair so to speak and my
- 1:22language is showing everything. So let me give you an example.
- 1:26If you're talking, let's say this time of year, we're talking
- 1:28about goals. So if we are Are thinking about
- 1:31our goals and you are wondering what you want to make happen,
- 1:37you sit down and you say you know what do I want to put on
- 1:39the paper will right away? This is where you got to pay
- 1:42attention to your language because you darn well know that
- 1:46you want to have a solid belief. In whatever it is that you want
- 1:51to make happen. You really want to focus on the
- 1:54fact that it's already happened. You don't want to say, well,
- 1:59maybe I can do this because if If you are putting something out
- 2:02there in the way of maybe. Well, you know what?
- 2:06That doesn't sound very convincing, does it.
- 2:08Not at all. If you say, I mean, if you're
- 2:10just in a place of contemplation, that's fine but
- 2:13we will often stay in the maybes or the shoulds or the, I don't
- 2:18knows. Oh my God, I cannot begin to
- 2:21express to you. The number of I don't knows that
- 2:24I can hear in my clients voices over and over and they're like,
- 2:29Part of it is okay because they're in a session and they're
- 2:32coming to me and we are working through it and they're saying,
- 2:35well, what do you think of this? I don't know.
- 2:37That's totally cool. If we're contemplative where
- 2:39it's not cool. Is if you're doing the I don't
- 2:41know to yourself constantly or you're in your head and you're
- 2:44just like exacerbated another one of like I just wish this
- 2:48would end. I wish this would end.
- 2:50I wish this would end because the language is a key to the
- 2:53energy. The language is a key to the
- 2:56energy that you're in. So you have to be in a place of
- 3:02absolutes with yourself. Now, if someone asked me
- 3:06yesterday, well, if I do that, I have a chance of getting
- 3:09disappointed and I left and I'm like, well, yes, we always have
- 3:13a chance of being disappointed, right?
- 3:15Because we don't have any control over anything except I
- 3:19responses, but you do have the opportunity to take that moment
- 3:23of disappointment and say, okay, I'm just not going to let myself
- 3:26stay there because there are no guarantees.
- 3:29There are no guarantees about anything anytime anywhere
- 3:32whatsoever, you know, we bought a brand new container of orange
- 3:38juice and we opened it and it tasted awful and the first
- 3:42thing. My son said to me was this isn't
- 3:44supposed to be like this. This is brand-new and I'm like,
- 3:47exactly it's not supposed to but it is.
- 3:49Well, how did this happen? Why is it gross?
- 3:52Well, you know, what doesn't matter, don't focus on it, this
- 3:55is what it is. We'll take it back, end of
- 3:57story, have something else. But we get so hung up.
- 4:01He talked about that for the whole like the whole breakfast.
- 4:03Like I don't understand how can they sell you something like
- 4:06that and he was so offended by this, but it's silly because
- 4:10it's a waste of energy. It's a waste of energy and he's
- 4:13still learning, he's only 13, he's still learning his
- 4:15emotions. But for us, we know better.
- 4:17We can stop this crap in our head but it takes awareness.
- 4:21It takes having a keen sense of listening to yourself.
- 4:28Hearing your Patterns seeing where you get stuck.
- 4:32My mother used to do this phrase to me all the time and she'd say
- 4:37well whatever. It's just so sad, whatever, it's
- 4:40so sad and that's how she would say it.
- 4:42And you could just hear in her energy that she was just
- 4:46exacerbated fed up and just like, well it doesn't matter.
- 4:51You'll be disappointed anyway. And that was the nature of how
- 4:55she, you know, took on her life at the And and it was really
- 5:00sad, actually, probably more than just the end but I'll tell
- 5:04you, it is a really, it's a really tough position when you
- 5:08allow that to take place. It's a really tough position
- 5:11when you don't help yourself by catching the language.
- 5:14So today, I want you to go out there.
- 5:16Listen to yourself, really listen to yourself.
- 5:19Write down the words that are bothering.
- 5:20You write down the words that you catch that don't feed you
- 5:23fill, you make you go forward in a way that you can be proud of
- 5:27and succinct with. And then Do something to shift
- 5:31them because you need to do something to shift them.
- 5:34I hope you guys have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:39Bye.
