- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's Best music is made nine.
- 0:04Speaker 2: And welcome to another episode of Scotty and Abbey Unfiltered.
- 0:07Speaker 2: And I do want to say thank you because now
- 0:09Speaker 2: that we've been mentioning the comments more, we're getting more comments.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Oh shout out to the comments, and a lot of
- 0:14Speaker 3: the people are loving the pop culture moments that we're
- 0:16Speaker 3: talking about. I'm always shocked about that because maybe it's
- 0:20Speaker 3: because we're so ingrained in pop culture that I don't
- 0:22Speaker 3: necessarily always seek out extra pop culture commentary. I just
- 0:25Speaker 3: didn't realize the average everyday person cared about like pop
- 0:28Speaker 3: culture commentary, especially from us, So we'll have to start
- 0:31Speaker 3: doing more of it.
- 0:32Speaker 2: I do like when you catch me up with the
- 0:33Speaker 2: shows that I have no idea. I was just talking
- 0:35Speaker 2: to my girlfriend about that. I'm like, I didn't. I
- 0:37Speaker 2: would have never watched Off Campus without you. I would
- 0:40Speaker 2: have no idea what's happening on Love Island without you.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So I appreciate the updates. And I do say, and
- 0:45Speaker 2: I say this openly like most of the time pop
- 0:47Speaker 2: culture stuff goes right over my head.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Yeah. And I'm the same way, Like I don't watch
- 0:50Speaker 3: a ton of TV. I really the only show I
- 0:53Speaker 3: used to watch was The Bachelor. I was obsessed with
- 0:55Speaker 3: The Bachelor, like seven years ago when it was the
- 0:58Speaker 3: Culton Underwood, Hannah Brown, like that pilot, p like that
- 1:01Speaker 3: was an unmatched run of reality TV. Like that was
- 1:04Speaker 3: the last time I went into psychosis over like TV.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Well then off campus too. But like for me, I
- 1:10Speaker 3: think I have really good taste in shows and movies
- 1:14Speaker 3: that when I do feel passionate about them, I'm like,
- 1:16Speaker 3: you have to watch this because if I'm into it,
- 1:19Speaker 3: I know everybody else will.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, it's a good point because there's so
- 1:22Speaker 2: many options and if you get down the wrong rabbit hole,
- 1:25Speaker 2: you feel like you wasted so many hours of your life.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But I will say some of the comments, like Sarah,
- 1:29Speaker 2: I see your comment on Spotify for the episode.
- 1:32Speaker 1: About the Love Island and then doing the girth check.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yes, yes, Sarah said, thank you for this quote unquote
- 1:38Speaker 2: hard hitting journalism.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Shout out, Sarah, see what I did there.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I had the exact same combo with my daughter wild
- 1:46Speaker 2: for sure. So have you been caught up up until
- 1:49Speaker 2: this moment on the latest episodes?
- 1:50Speaker 3: Yeah? So I am so invested in this week of
- 1:53Speaker 3: Love Island, specifically because it's the costa a more week
- 1:57Speaker 3: that I typically have a very hard deadline when it
- 1:59Speaker 3: comes to going to bed at like nine nine thirty,
- 2:02Speaker 3: and I was like, I have to know what happens,
- 2:03Speaker 3: like I simply need to watch it right now.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Oh, it would be a spoiler if you talked about it.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I mean, no, I'll talk about it because you're gonna
- 2:09Speaker 3: see it on TikTok, like I mean, and you're not
- 2:11Speaker 3: gonna watch it.
- 2:12Speaker 1: So I'm not gonna watch it.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I know. Sure, So listening pos, I guess you could
- 2:17Speaker 3: tune out. But I am getting so invested because I
- 2:20Speaker 3: was really invested in last seasons Love Island because it
- 2:23Speaker 3: always premieres during the summer, because there was this really
- 2:25Speaker 3: fun couple named Nick and Landria. We would call them
- 2:28Speaker 3: Nick Alandria, and they were a really fun love story
- 2:31Speaker 3: to watch. Nick is a white guy from Jacksonville, that's
- 2:34Speaker 3: my hometown, and then Alandria is this beautiful, dark skinned
- 2:38Speaker 3: woman from I think Birmingham, Alabama, and so watching them
- 2:41Speaker 3: come together and navigate that like those dynamics where she's
- 2:46Speaker 3: I think she didn't think that Nick would be into
- 2:48Speaker 3: her because and I'm not the right person to have
- 2:52Speaker 3: commentary on this. So I'm just paraphrasing what I've heard
- 2:54Speaker 3: other women talk about, but like there's a lot of
- 2:56Speaker 3: colorism even within the black community, whereas a lot of
- 2:59Speaker 3: black women don't feel valued by black men in general,
- 3:02Speaker 3: and then if you're a darker skinned woman, there's even
- 3:04Speaker 3: some colorism there. And so I think there was a
- 3:06Speaker 3: little bit of insecurity on her part, but like Nick
- 3:08Speaker 3: was just yearning for her like so much and just
- 3:11Speaker 3: watching him like treat her so beautifully and just go
- 3:15Speaker 3: after her and pine after her and then finally get
- 3:19Speaker 3: her at the end, and then they've had a really
- 3:20Speaker 3: fun relationship over the course of the last year. So
- 3:23Speaker 3: joke I say all of that because now we're in
- 3:26Speaker 3: this next season of Love Island, and I was making
- 3:28Speaker 3: the joke that this couple, Bryce and Trinity they were
- 3:32Speaker 3: like TEAMU Nick and Landria because Bryce is like this again,
- 3:36Speaker 3: like kind of scrawny white boy with long hair, and
- 3:39Speaker 3: then again we have another beautiful woman named Trinity, and
- 3:43Speaker 3: they kind of went through the same thing where they
- 3:45Speaker 3: chose each other at first and then they broke up again.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Because she has specified on the show this season that
- 3:51Speaker 3: she felt a little bit of insecurity of not feeling
- 3:53Speaker 3: like she might be chosen by him because she wasn't
- 3:57Speaker 3: sure that a white guy would be into her. And
- 3:59Speaker 3: then he was worried that she wasn't going to choose him,
- 4:03Speaker 3: so she so he didn't choose her for this challenge,
- 4:05Speaker 3: and so they both went off and found other couples,
- 4:08Speaker 3: is what I'm trying to say. But then they came
- 4:09Speaker 3: back to each other and they've just built this really
- 4:12Speaker 3: fun relationship to where they're one of the stronger couples
- 4:15Speaker 3: in the villa. And so now the week that we're
- 4:17Speaker 3: currently in and I recognize, I feel like this is
- 4:20Speaker 3: very convoluted, like and then and then negative and they
- 4:23Speaker 3: broke apart and then the challenge and there's some reason
- 4:27Speaker 3: are you following trying to clarify it? Okay, So Bryce
- 4:30Speaker 3: and Trinity are currently in a couple. They're one of
- 4:32Speaker 3: the stronger couples. This week, it's Kasa Amore, which basically
- 4:35Speaker 3: means we have essentially a second season of Love Island
- 4:40Speaker 3: running alongside the current cast, but we've split the cast
- 4:43Speaker 3: in half. So the guys went to Casa Amore, which
- 4:46Speaker 3: is another villa still on the island, built like across
- 4:49Speaker 3: the water and then we have the original villa, so
- 4:52Speaker 3: the girls stayed in the original villa. They didn't know
- 4:56Speaker 3: Casa Moore was happening. This is something that happens every
- 4:58Speaker 3: single season, but we switched it up this time because
- 5:01Speaker 3: they thought they were about to do something called the
- 5:03Speaker 3: heart Rate Challenge. The heart rate Challenge is basically a
- 5:06Speaker 3: lap dance competition, and you're trying to see who you
- 5:10Speaker 3: can get to have their heart You're competing to get
- 5:12Speaker 3: people's heart rates really really high, and everyone wears a
- 5:15Speaker 3: heart rate monitor and so it reveals like who actually
- 5:18Speaker 3: makes you feel really giddy on the inside, who gets
- 5:20Speaker 3: you nervous, who gets you excited? And so it's very salacious,
- 5:23Speaker 3: and they wear these slutty costumes. It's the whole thing.
- 5:25Speaker 3: So they thought they were doing that, and so they
- 5:27Speaker 3: all get dressed up in their little Halloween costumes and
- 5:30Speaker 3: then that's when they separated them for Cossa More. So
- 5:32Speaker 3: they go to Cossa More. The guys are there and
- 5:35Speaker 3: they get a whole new set of women. There are
- 5:37Speaker 3: six women that get introduced to them at Kassa More
- 5:41Speaker 3: and you think this is even crazy listen to this,
- 5:44Speaker 3: So then the women They're all sitting at the fire pit,
- 5:47Speaker 3: which is sort of the family room, and they have
- 5:49Speaker 3: a big TV in front of them, and they're waiting,
- 5:51Speaker 3: thinking that the guys are about to come out and
- 5:53Speaker 3: give them all lap dances. No way. They turn the
- 5:56Speaker 3: TV on and they start airing essentially a heart Great
- 6:00Speaker 3: Challenge at Kassa More, but instead of the original cast
- 6:04Speaker 3: taking part in it, it's the got the original cast
- 6:07Speaker 3: guys at Kassa More getting lap dances from the new women.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 6:12Speaker 3: And so it's like watching this guy you just started dating,
- 6:15Speaker 3: see how.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Loyal he is to yea, My stomach just dropped that.
- 6:19Speaker 3: When you have an opportunity to change up the couples
- 6:22Speaker 3: and you don't think anybody's watching, how are you gonna act?
- 6:26Speaker 1: Oh my god? That is genius.
- 6:28Speaker 3: It's the producers need an Emmy for this episode, genuinely.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Truthfully, because I don't like usually sometimes I gotta like
- 6:34Speaker 2: like raise my level of enthusiasm for some of these
- 6:37Speaker 2: that got me so like leaned in right, that's crazy.
- 6:40Speaker 3: See that's why. And I tell you I have really
- 6:43Speaker 3: good taste of TV, and so does everyone else. Everyone
- 6:45Speaker 3: else is watching this. But like if I'm into TV.
- 6:47Speaker 3: You know, it's gotta be good, because I like, it
- 6:50Speaker 3: takes a lot for me to get off my phone actually,
- 6:52Speaker 3: like I like I need to be entertained by something
- 6:55Speaker 3: other than my TikTok for you page. So anyway, so
- 6:59Speaker 3: cosa more that's down. So they're literally watching their new
- 7:02Speaker 3: boyfriends essentially cheat on them, thinking nobody needs no one
- 7:06Speaker 3: could see, no one can see. And some of the
- 7:08Speaker 3: stuff that was going down was so vile, like there's
- 7:11Speaker 3: this one guy named Corbin who like when he was
- 7:14Speaker 3: getting a lap dance from one of the girls, who
- 7:16Speaker 3: was like, go to work, go to work. It's just
- 7:18Speaker 3: so icky.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I hate that.
- 7:20Speaker 3: So anyway, they start exploring these new connections with six
- 7:22Speaker 3: other women and so then the next day the girls
- 7:25Speaker 3: wake up and they're like, what the hell, like we
- 7:26Speaker 3: just lost our boyfriends. Then a yacht of twelve men
- 7:31Speaker 3: gets dropped off to the girls.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Well let's go okay as long as it's.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Yeah, and they get to explore their connections. Do you
- 7:37Speaker 3: want to fix your camera?
- 7:37Speaker 2: By the way, my camera is so annoying. I love AI,
- 7:40Speaker 2: but AI sometimes is very annoying. Or we have a
- 7:43Speaker 2: new little cameras that just zoom all over.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Sometimes you just got to like judge it a little bit.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Okay, there we go.
- 7:48Speaker 3: So twelve guys get dropped off at the original villa
- 7:52Speaker 3: where the original cast of girls are sitting there, and
- 7:55Speaker 3: so they get to explore new connections with these twelve
- 7:57Speaker 3: really hot guys. And honestly, some of these guys are
- 8:00Speaker 3: than the original cast. I'm like, how did you guys
- 8:02Speaker 3: get put in this position? Because you want to be
- 8:04Speaker 3: in the original cast, like you want to be one
- 8:06Speaker 3: of the og Islanders. So anyway, this new cast gets
- 8:09Speaker 3: dropped off. There's some really hot guys. There's Carl. We
- 8:11Speaker 3: love Carl. There's a guy named Dylan that I think
- 8:13Speaker 3: has paired up really well with Kenzie, who was losing
- 8:15Speaker 3: her mind over Corbin, the guy who I just said
- 8:18Speaker 3: was like, go to work, go to work.
- 8:19Speaker 1: At a work.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Oh.
- 8:19Speaker 1: So she's got herself a new man.
- 8:21Speaker 3: So she's like, well, if you're gonna act that way
- 8:22Speaker 3: with other women, I'm finding somebody else. So she's moved
- 8:25Speaker 3: on to another guy. And then this is when it
- 8:28Speaker 3: gets really good. So now they've all found these new connections.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Some of them are working out, some of them are not.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Some girls are like, oh, my god, I miss my
- 8:35Speaker 3: boyfriend or whoever, not even though they know they're getting
- 8:39Speaker 3: mistreated over at Casa More, but they're sill, like I
- 8:40Speaker 3: still a feelings to this person anyway right there. Then
- 8:43Speaker 3: they did the heart rate challenge, but it was the
- 8:47Speaker 3: it was the villa versus Casa Moore And basically, so
- 8:52Speaker 3: think about this, like your boyfriend's got a new girl
- 8:55Speaker 3: or whatever over at Casa More, and now you've got
- 8:57Speaker 3: a new man and you're doing the heart rate challenge,
- 9:00Speaker 3: but you're competing against each other, so you're trying to
- 9:02Speaker 3: get back at him, trying to show him that like,
- 9:04Speaker 3: oh this other guy is getting my heart heart.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Rate that's uh, oh my god, Like, oh, you got
- 9:09Speaker 2: me flustered until I get my hands on this new man.
- 9:12Speaker 3: It's very vindictive. So basically, they did this game where
- 9:15Speaker 3: they have their new couples or you can pick any
- 9:17Speaker 3: guy or whatever. So the girls go to the front,
- 9:19Speaker 3: they pick whoever they want to do with the heart
- 9:21Speaker 3: rate challenge with and they're going up against the other
- 9:24Speaker 3: guys paring over in Cassa.
- 9:26Speaker 2: You know what hurt me more like just a little
- 9:27Speaker 2: tangent like seeing who they pick would hurt just Based
- 9:31Speaker 2: off of that alone, my heart would sink.
- 9:33Speaker 3: But I think the illusion of it makes it even worse,
- 9:35Speaker 3: Like like if you're a guy, because the guys haven't
- 9:38Speaker 3: seen the girls new men. We've seen the girls we have,
- 9:42Speaker 3: the guys have not seen the new men that have
- 9:45Speaker 3: been dropped off. So picture that you're over at Casa
- 9:48Speaker 3: More and you're dating. You were dating Kenzie, now you're
- 9:52Speaker 3: not because you're in Cossa More And they're like, okay, Scott,
- 9:54Speaker 3: you're going up against Kenzie and David or I think
- 9:57Speaker 3: the guy's name is did Dylan, Kenzy and Dylan And
- 10:00Speaker 3: you're like, well, is is he hotter than me?
- 10:03Speaker 1: I don't know? Oh okay, So you don't even know
- 10:05Speaker 1: what he looks like.
- 10:06Speaker 3: You know he looks like.
- 10:07Speaker 1: You just know his name, You.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Just know his name.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Ah.
- 10:10Speaker 1: That sucks.
- 10:11Speaker 3: But the girls know what the other girls look like,
- 10:13Speaker 3: but you don't know who your guy is. Paradox.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I love the psychology of this, Oh my god.
- 10:17Speaker 3: I love that the producers were looking out for the
- 10:19Speaker 3: women because I think they definitely made it harder on
- 10:21Speaker 3: the guys. But that's because it's just unequal period, Like correct,
- 10:24Speaker 3: the guys are thrill they're getting lap dances from these
- 10:26Speaker 3: hot girls, whereas guys get separated a lot easier, whereas
- 10:29Speaker 3: the girls are like, come on, like I was really
- 10:31Speaker 3: into this guy. So anyway, so they do the heart
- 10:34Speaker 3: rate challenge and they get these they do like a
- 10:37Speaker 3: like a it's a bingo what is the you know
- 10:40Speaker 3: when they have to like shake it up. They have
- 10:41Speaker 3: to pick out a bingo ball or whatever and be
- 10:43Speaker 3: like before, but instead before it says lick, And so
- 10:46Speaker 3: the heart rate challenges you have to utilize licking in
- 10:50Speaker 3: some capacity to get their heart rate up or suck.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Oh god, there was one that sometimes it's more wholesome tickling.
- 10:57Speaker 3: I don't know the dance so, but dancing cannot be wholesome.
- 11:01Speaker 3: So anyway, the Villa one, thank god, the girls one.
- 11:05Speaker 3: I was very excited for them. But back to this
- 11:07Speaker 3: whole convoluted story about Bryce and Trinity. Is everybody else,
- 11:11Speaker 3: for the most part, is enjoying their new couples. But
- 11:13Speaker 3: Bryce and Trinity, this couple from the beginning what I
- 11:16Speaker 3: was calling Timu Nicolandria, I'm now fighting for even more
- 11:19Speaker 3: because I'm like, oh my god, Brinandi's even better than Nicolandria. Oh.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Bryce is over at Cossa more like crying, being like
- 11:26Speaker 3: all these other girls are so beautiful, but they're not her.
- 11:30Speaker 3: And Trinity is over at the villa being like, you know,
- 11:34Speaker 3: I'm really trying here, but I feel so bad about
- 11:36Speaker 3: kissing these other guys, like I just want to be
- 11:37Speaker 3: with Bryce. And they're both like yearning for each other
- 11:40Speaker 3: mutually while they're in this uncomfortable situation, neither of them
- 11:43Speaker 3: knowing that either of them is feeling the exact same way.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Oh, that's crazy, because you might feel like an idiot.
- 11:48Speaker 2: You're like, Wow, they're probably over there just loving this
- 11:50Speaker 2: new person. You're comparing yourself, you're judging yourself.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Trinity's over here being like, what if he's with someone prettier,
- 11:56Speaker 3: someone who's better than me, someone what if he's having
- 11:58Speaker 3: a better time. But she has no idea that he's
- 12:00Speaker 3: over there like laying in bed with some other women
- 12:03Speaker 3: being like, yeah, you're not Trinity.
- 12:04Speaker 2: That's wild, Beau. You know what that actually gets me
- 12:07Speaker 2: really like interested in the show.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I'm telling you it's it's really well done.
- 12:11Speaker 2: That's actually really entertaining, because I think it does do
- 12:13Speaker 2: a great job of that.
- 12:14Speaker 1: That's so real.
- 12:16Speaker 2: If you like especially in that weird talking stage of
- 12:19Speaker 2: when you're like with somebody but you haven't yet decided
- 12:22Speaker 2: to make it official or not, and so on the
- 12:24Speaker 2: nights that you're not together, you're wondering like are they
- 12:26Speaker 2: going out on other dates? Are they texting somebody else?
- 12:29Speaker 2: Is there somebody that's gonna come in and I don't know,
- 12:32Speaker 2: take them away from me? And so you're trying to
- 12:34Speaker 2: make sure that you're like, I'm not gonna let my
- 12:35Speaker 2: jealousy card show. I'm not gonna like pressure them to
- 12:38Speaker 2: see where they're at. But in the back of your
- 12:39Speaker 2: head you're wondering, like can I be the one?
- 12:42Speaker 3: Well?
- 12:42Speaker 1: I be the one that's being picked? Oh that's crazy. Yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 3: So there's no new episode tonight, which sucks, but it'll
- 12:48Speaker 3: be back on Thursday and Friday and we're gonna see
- 12:51Speaker 3: how this develops.
- 12:52Speaker 1: How long does this go?
- 12:54Speaker 2: Because if they're already doing Casa More and all this,
- 12:57Speaker 2: how many more episodes do we have.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Before, like I think through July?
- 13:00Speaker 1: Maybe?
- 13:01Speaker 2: Oh wow, that's a good amount of time, I know.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Do we have like couples in the past of these
- 13:05Speaker 2: like shows that have actually made it.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Yeah, honestly, Love Island has been pretty successful. It's been
- 13:09Speaker 3: like more successful than The Bachelor. I think in terms
- 13:11Speaker 3: of success rates.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Well, the Bachelor's tough because it's like the I don't know.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Sometimes with the Bachelor, I'm like, I know they probably
- 13:19Speaker 2: do this on Love Island, but you get on there
- 13:20Speaker 2: simply to have your moment. You're like, I'm having a moment. Yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 2: like I don't one guy, Yeah he's cute, but like
- 13:26Speaker 2: we'll see.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Well. I feel like most people probably go on the
- 13:28Speaker 3: show just to have their moment and maybe to like
- 13:31Speaker 3: get a boyfriend out of it, or to have a
- 13:33Speaker 3: very successful couple and get some brand deals out of it.
- 13:35Speaker 3: But I think people get surprised by the feelings they
- 13:37Speaker 3: catch in the villa because you don't go in with
- 13:39Speaker 3: those expectations and then all of a sudden, you catch
- 13:42Speaker 3: these very real feelings for this other person.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And it's more options, so it's not just one bachelor.
- 13:46Speaker 2: You're like, oh wait, there's how many dudes.
- 13:48Speaker 3: So it's an equal amount of guys and girls. So
- 13:50Speaker 3: there's always there's almost always equal pairings, but one or
- 13:54Speaker 3: two single people that you know are buying for other
- 13:57Speaker 3: people's attention.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Oh, trying to just get a little so not everyone
- 14:00Speaker 2: could be coupled up at all times.
- 14:01Speaker 3: I think sometimes everybody's coupled up, but usually there's like
- 14:05Speaker 3: one or two single people.
- 14:06Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Okay, you know what, I don't want to subscribe. Maybe
- 14:10Speaker 2: I'll cancel my Netflix because I just ended my show, Yes,
- 14:13Speaker 2: how to Build a Sex Room.
- 14:14Speaker 1: It was a great show.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Have you built your sex room yet?
- 14:17Speaker 2: Looking at things? But I did finish that show so
- 14:19Speaker 2: I could stop watching that.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Fox For those at home who want to build their
- 14:22Speaker 3: first sex room, what's the number one thing they should
- 14:25Speaker 3: be focusing on?
- 14:25Speaker 1: Okay, fine, I'll take some tips. Textures are huge. Can
- 14:28Speaker 1: get a nice soft.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Blood, can give me some texture, suggess so like you
- 14:35Speaker 3: can get feathers, you can get nice rugs.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Those go a long way.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Your covers go to a tremendous distance. What I learned
- 14:43Speaker 2: in this show, which was very informational, by the way,
- 14:46Speaker 2: it's not just sex, but you want to have a
- 14:48Speaker 2: dedicated space for you and your partner.
- 14:52Speaker 3: What about your one bedroom single man apartment isn't dedicated
- 14:55Speaker 3: to you and your girlfriend.
- 14:56Speaker 2: It's just to make sure that it's inviting, you know,
- 14:59Speaker 2: because especially I as you grow together, like maybe the
- 15:02Speaker 2: room becomes more of like a storage closet where sh
- 15:04Speaker 2: it's everywhere it's or no organized, but putting a little
- 15:07Speaker 2: more intention behind. Oh God, if you looked at my
- 15:10Speaker 2: you know, just what was the.
- 15:11Speaker 3: First thing you bought on Amazon after you finished the show?
- 15:13Speaker 1: I can't reveal that.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Yeah, see, I knew I'm a journalist. I knew what
- 15:17Speaker 3: questions asked O man.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I will say that I did go on Chat yesterday
- 15:22Speaker 2: and I took a picture of my room and I said,
- 15:24Speaker 2: make it into sex, just.
- 15:26Speaker 3: To see what it came up with.
- 15:28Speaker 2: You. I'm not trying to turn it into a dungeon,
- 15:30Speaker 2: but did it come up with It came up with
- 15:32Speaker 2: cool lighting suggestions. It did try to make my room
- 15:35Speaker 2: like black and red, like a dungeon. So it changed
- 15:37Speaker 2: my curtains to.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Red, and that is red and black the color of sex.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I think it has that dark mistique to it, you
- 15:42Speaker 2: know what I mean, which mine is more like a beige.
- 15:45Speaker 1: It's very like, oh, this is just.
- 15:46Speaker 3: The color of It's just like a Helman's jar.
- 15:49Speaker 1: It's going to stay like ame there.
- 15:53Speaker 2: It did give me ideas of like, oh I could
- 15:54Speaker 2: put some lighting under the bed, or maybe I could
- 15:57Speaker 2: put some pictures up on the wall.
- 15:59Speaker 3: You're gonna like double class. But then all of a sudden,
- 16:00Speaker 3: it's gonna be like, that's.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Right, little Marvin Gay in the background. It was good.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Like it was like I'd say it for a lot
- 16:07Speaker 2: of married couples. It doesn't not every couple is like
- 16:10Speaker 2: this super freaky. Yeah, you know, some of them are
- 16:12Speaker 2: very wholesome, and it's like we just want a room
- 16:14Speaker 2: that we could have just moments together and relax to
- 16:17Speaker 2: a bedroom. Well, but you know, maybe some handcuffs too,
- 16:21Speaker 2: Like everything's involved.
- 16:22Speaker 3: This is so funny because I just know in fifteen
- 16:25Speaker 3: years you're going to be living out in fish Hawk Ors,
- 16:27Speaker 3: one of these suburbs out in Tampa, and there's gonna
- 16:30Speaker 3: be one kid down the street telling his mom like
- 16:32Speaker 3: mister Scott said, we can't go in the room that's downstairs,
- 16:36Speaker 3: but well, we were playing hide and seek. I went
- 16:38Speaker 3: in there and I was very scared.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Mom. Here's a big old cross on the wall in
- 16:42Speaker 1: ropes from the ceilings.
- 16:43Speaker 3: It's not very scarwyva.
- 16:46Speaker 1: You know what. It's a great show.
- 16:48Speaker 2: It's kind of like home improvement, but especially for the Kinks,
- 16:52Speaker 2: I recommend I know, I've said a lot of shows
- 16:55Speaker 2: on this podcast so far.
- 16:56Speaker 1: So however you envision.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Healthing bad at you are help bad, it's sex.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I don't know if bad's the word. I would say,
- 17:03Speaker 1: how you want?
- 17:04Speaker 3: You watch a lot of educational content. It takes up
- 17:06Speaker 3: a lot of your time that I'm like, how far
- 17:08Speaker 3: do you find it go?
- 17:09Speaker 2: I find it interesting because there's always something like again,
- 17:12Speaker 2: you know, like the way my brain's starting to work.
- 17:14Speaker 2: It's like always in a growth mindset. I just want
- 17:16Speaker 2: to be better. I want to learn, and you don't
- 17:18Speaker 2: know what you don't know.
- 17:19Speaker 1: They don't teach this stuff.
- 17:20Speaker 2: In school for reasons, but you know I watch things
- 17:23Speaker 2: on finances too and health. So now let's just we've
- 17:27Speaker 2: gone down the rabbit hole of sex. Anyway, with the
- 17:30Speaker 2: whole couple's talk, I was telling Abby off the mics
- 17:34Speaker 2: on and I'm sure you do this too on Instagram,
- 17:36Speaker 2: where you ever like scroll through and you see a
- 17:39Speaker 2: post that you truly like, you see somebody say a quote,
- 17:42Speaker 2: or you see a location and they have the save button.
- 17:45Speaker 2: They do this on TikTok too, and there's a joke
- 17:47Speaker 2: on Instagram. It's like, oh, it's just going to be
- 17:49Speaker 2: another post that you save that you never look at again.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Another recipe that you add to your collection that you
- 17:55Speaker 2: know you're never going to make. And so I did
- 17:57Speaker 2: want to know, if you were to go through your
- 17:59Speaker 2: save folders on Instagram, what are your saved posts that
- 18:04Speaker 2: you know, damn well you will never look at or
- 18:07Speaker 2: ever use.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Sometimes I do look at them, though.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Have you ever utilized them? Have you ever actually taken
- 18:12Speaker 2: yourself up on the offers that you've saved.
- 18:13Speaker 3: The thing is sometimes you need to save them because
- 18:15Speaker 3: you know you need to look at them at a
- 18:17Speaker 3: specific later day. Like for me, I save a lot
- 18:21Speaker 3: of wedding content, Like if I see someone with a
- 18:23Speaker 3: beautiful wedding setup, I'm like, in fifteen years, this is
- 18:25Speaker 3: going to be useful.
- 18:26Speaker 1: That's actually really sweet. But in fifteen years will Instagram
- 18:29Speaker 1: even be around.
- 18:30Speaker 3: I like to have like wedding dress in spo, like
- 18:33Speaker 3: this one's really beautiful. Send this one to my mom,
- 18:35Speaker 3: sent me my mom bond. I'm like, oh, do you
- 18:37Speaker 3: like this dress? And she goes yes, and.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Go nice, heck ou we have something in common.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Some things I do save and go back to a
- 18:43Speaker 3: lot of entertainment stories because what I do is I'll
- 18:46Speaker 3: see something at like two pm on Tuesday and I'll go, oh,
- 18:49Speaker 3: I'll talk about that tomorrow, and then I literally forget
- 18:51Speaker 3: it because it's six am, and I'm like, oh, I god,
- 18:53Speaker 3: I need a script together. And so now I've started
- 18:55Speaker 3: saving things because I'm like, I know, I saw something yesterday.
- 18:57Speaker 3: What do I need to write about?
- 18:59Speaker 1: That's actually a really good do for the job in general.
- 19:01Speaker 3: So it's yeah, it's literally just all entertainment and then
- 19:04Speaker 3: wedding inspo and then PILATEI sucks.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Oh, pilate socks. Interesting. Have you ever bought some that
- 19:11Speaker 1: you actually saved?
- 19:12Speaker 3: No? Oh, I wear the same ratty pair of Amazon
- 19:15Speaker 3: PILATEI sucks. Well, yeah, I love this invitation sweet beautiful
- 19:19Speaker 3: color scheme.
- 19:19Speaker 2: See okay, does that because it definitely has infiltrated your algorithm,
- 19:25Speaker 2: Like I feel like once you save something, Yeah, because
- 19:27Speaker 2: this is what has happened to mine. That's why I
- 19:28Speaker 2: brought it up because I saw one video and look,
- 19:31Speaker 2: y'all can make fun of me. I'm a corny loving dude.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That's what I like. I love love. That makes me happy.
- 19:37Speaker 2: So my algorithm knows it figured out that I'm in
- 19:40Speaker 2: a relationship based off of the things that I looked.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Three seconds are longer at And so I saw a
- 19:45Speaker 2: post yesterday and it's this couple's treehouse thirty minutes from Chattanooga.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Is at your sex room Now, No, you're gonna do
- 19:52Speaker 3: like a jungle theme. Oh don't judge me.
- 19:56Speaker 1: We all have our things behind closed doors. But I
- 19:59Speaker 1: saved this couple's treehouse.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Like I'm ever gonna go to Chattanooga in Tennessee to
- 20:04Speaker 2: go and check out.
- 20:05Speaker 1: I don't even know how expensive it is these three stories.
- 20:08Speaker 3: You shouldn't be going to Chattanooga because you need to
- 20:10Speaker 3: use your freaking time share.
- 20:13Speaker 1: That's the problem.
- 20:14Speaker 2: But these places look so sweet, And so I saved
- 20:17Speaker 2: this couple's treehouse and then write down it.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Now it's my Entiger algorithm.
- 20:21Speaker 2: So the next thing I have is couples get away
- 20:24Speaker 2: in Georgia, and this has a waterfall. They got a
- 20:27Speaker 2: beautiful little house, and then it gave me one that
- 20:30Speaker 2: was even cooler, which is like a whole villa for
- 20:34Speaker 2: you and friends all in these tiny homes of a village,
- 20:38Speaker 2: so you can go rent out like it's like, I
- 20:40Speaker 2: guess I'll call it Airbnb. But they have these tiny homes.
- 20:43Speaker 2: They're like in storage containers, and it's like one for
- 20:46Speaker 2: your friends, one for you. There's one that's a saana,
- 20:49Speaker 2: there's one that's the kitchen in the living room.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Nothing says vacation like a storage container.
- 20:54Speaker 2: I have fallen in love with it, and I don't
- 20:55Speaker 2: know why I have this whole thing on my algorithm.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Now that's telling me that I need to go ahead
- 20:59Speaker 2: and buy a tiny home because I've learned that there's
- 21:02Speaker 2: some that you could just have built over in Shanghai
- 21:04Speaker 2: in China. This is because of my algorithm. They will
- 21:06Speaker 2: put it in a shipping container. All you got to
- 21:08Speaker 2: do is lay it on a plot of land and.
- 21:09Speaker 1: It folds up.
- 21:10Speaker 3: You cannot buy your next house from Sian or Timu.
- 21:14Speaker 3: I'm Meli baba in this economy.
- 21:18Speaker 2: If it's a house that has a roof and it's
- 21:20Speaker 2: got because it has everything, the bathroom, the shower, and
- 21:23Speaker 2: it comes in a storage container, how.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Sweet is that?
- 21:26Speaker 3: Well? Home, sweet home?
- 21:27Speaker 2: That's my algorithm right now. It's all these different couples houses.
- 21:31Speaker 2: If I go down my for you page, it's literally like,
- 21:33Speaker 2: oh next place to stay, free hotel, here you go.
- 21:37Speaker 2: But I know I'm never going to utilize it. I
- 21:39Speaker 2: know in my life I've done that with recipes. I
- 21:41Speaker 2: do it every time I see a new workout. I
- 21:44Speaker 2: never actually utilize it. And I'm ashamed to say that.
- 21:46Speaker 2: I'm one of those people that I'll save and think
- 21:48Speaker 2: I have the best intentions in mind, but I'm just
- 21:51Speaker 2: like you.
- 21:52Speaker 1: I'll never go back and.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Look at I'll go back in fifteen years when I
- 21:55Speaker 3: get engaged.
- 21:57Speaker 2: I was wondering this the other day because like, how
- 21:59Speaker 2: often are you on Facebook right now?
- 22:00Speaker 3: Never?
- 22:01Speaker 2: That's what I was thinking, because I was like, truly, ever,
- 22:03Speaker 2: I wonder if that's going to be Instagram in the
- 22:05Speaker 2: next evolution.
- 22:06Speaker 3: I don't think so. I think Instagram has evolved better
- 22:10Speaker 3: than Facebook.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Why do you think Facebook has died?
- 22:13Speaker 3: I don't think. I actually don't think Facebook is dead.
- 22:15Speaker 3: I think a lot of older people use Facebook.
- 22:17Speaker 1: This is going to sound so morbid.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Then eventually it will be what if the people that
- 22:23Speaker 2: are using it are getting yeah, really old?
- 22:28Speaker 1: Eventually Facebook will go away.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Cause a lot of older people, especially in this industry,
- 22:32Speaker 3: use Facebook in the way that I use Instagram. Like,
- 22:34Speaker 3: especially when I was looking for jobs, people would add
- 22:37Speaker 3: me or message me on Facebook. I'm like, Facebook feels
- 22:39Speaker 3: like you're intruding my house, Like I have photos from
- 22:42Speaker 3: high school in there. I have photos from like middle school.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Like it feels too personal for Jared from San Diego
- 22:48Speaker 3: to be you know what I mean, Like add me
- 22:51Speaker 3: on Instagram. That's more of a professional service level environment.
- 22:54Speaker 3: If that makes sense.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it does because Facebook has so much more
- 22:57Speaker 2: info on you, like if I go to my page.
- 22:59Speaker 2: And that's why I running on the trail that we
- 23:01Speaker 2: have over here at Spinella's Trail, and I'm just a
- 23:03Speaker 2: friendly dude. So I smiled at a guy that was
- 23:05Speaker 2: coming by and I, you know, here's something going on
- 23:08Speaker 2: with him. And he was like, oh hey, So we
- 23:10Speaker 2: got in this whole conversation. He's like, let's connect on Facebook.
- 23:14Speaker 3: And I was like, oh yeah, that's like a friends
- 23:17Speaker 3: and family vibe.
- 23:18Speaker 1: That's why I said.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I was like, well, you could look, here's my my
- 23:21Speaker 2: like I have a I hate the term of it,
- 23:23Speaker 2: but a fan page, so you could be on my
- 23:25Speaker 2: fan page.
- 23:26Speaker 1: He's like, oh, could you add me.
- 23:27Speaker 3: On your actual page?
- 23:29Speaker 1: No, because you see where I grew up.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it's too personal. I don't like having Rando's digging
- 23:34Speaker 3: through my photos, yeah, to see me, I mean Rando's lovingly.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Because I know a lot of people that listen to
- 23:39Speaker 3: this have probably tried to add me on Facebook. But
- 23:40Speaker 3: for me, Facebook is like these are my very personal
- 23:43Speaker 3: photos that that's not for outside consumption.
- 23:46Speaker 2: And here's where I think the caveat is, especially because
- 23:49Speaker 2: I know a lot of like, if you listen to
- 23:50Speaker 2: this podcast, like a majority, y'all are cool.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I no, you're great. I just don't know you.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Yeah exactly, but so cool.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I just don't know you, I think.
- 23:59Speaker 2: But what has happened though, and especially I learned this
- 24:02Speaker 2: in the beginning and I still continue to learn my lessons,
- 24:04Speaker 2: is like there's always one one that takes it too far. Yes,
- 24:07Speaker 2: Or it's like they'll save your photo and make it
- 24:09Speaker 2: their wallpaper and you're like what. Or they'll put your
- 24:12Speaker 2: photo on like a tumbler and give it to you
- 24:13Speaker 2: as a gift and you're like, love the intention, love
- 24:16Speaker 2: that you're thoughtful. But if you could see it from
- 24:19Speaker 2: my perspective, it sounds a little odd. Yeah, And those
- 24:23Speaker 2: moments happen. So that's why it's like, Okay, there has
- 24:25Speaker 2: to be a separation. There the Instagram though, doesn't have
- 24:28Speaker 2: all that info. It doesn't have your hometown photos.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Yeah, girl, add me on Instagram. I got lots of
- 24:31Speaker 3: fun stuff on Instagram. I'll message you. I'm very good
- 24:33Speaker 3: at messaging back on Instagram for the most part.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Yeah, here's the fun part that I like to go
- 24:38Speaker 2: to in my mind. Because Instagram at one point was
- 24:41Speaker 2: non existent. TikTok at one point was non existent.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I can't remember a time before Instagram.
- 24:45Speaker 1: But what do you like We won't know.
- 24:47Speaker 2: This is not an answerable question, but like, what do
- 24:49Speaker 2: you think that next thing is going to be? Like
- 24:50Speaker 2: what could the next thing have that we don't already
- 24:52Speaker 2: have because we already have videos, we already have pictures.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Yeah, and we could have never predicted chatchebt oh my.
- 24:58Speaker 1: God, but they were there.
- 25:00Speaker 2: It will be something in the next year that is
- 25:02Speaker 2: going to be the next let's say, just TikTok or Instagram.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Something is going to pop up. Dude, I don't know,
- 25:08Speaker 2: but that's what's crazy.
- 25:09Speaker 1: For me to think of.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I'm like, dang, imagine if you would have invested in
- 25:12Speaker 2: Meta when it first started.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, you're cruising, you'd.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Be going to Taylor shows sweating you would be.
- 25:18Speaker 3: I mean, investing in TikTok was the best thing I did.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Oh you didn't.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Not money wise, but like follower wise. It was so
- 25:24Speaker 3: easy back in the day to gain a following, and
- 25:27Speaker 3: then the algorithm has changed so many times that it's
- 25:29Speaker 3: like if you don't have like if you haven't established
- 25:31Speaker 3: yourself already, you're like, you're screwed.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I missed that boat when it first started taking off.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I did what I did with Vine when it first
- 25:36Speaker 2: came out. I was like, I ain't doing this.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna rebel. I'm going to stick stick to Instagram.
- 25:40Speaker 2: And then there's the whole TikTok ban that I was like,
- 25:42Speaker 2: all right, good now, I'll get just focus on Instagram.
- 25:44Speaker 2: It still hasn't gone away, but it has changed.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it has changed for sure. It's impossible to get
- 25:48Speaker 3: your video out there anyway. I don't know. And I
- 25:52Speaker 3: think that's the cool thing is it is impossible to
- 25:54Speaker 3: predict is some creative nineteen year old is going to
- 25:56Speaker 3: come up with something and then be a billionaire in
- 25:58Speaker 3: five years.
- 25:59Speaker 2: That's the part that I'm like, I as soon as
- 26:00Speaker 2: something pops up, I want to do what you did.
- 26:02Speaker 2: With TikTok and either invest in it literally financially or
- 26:06Speaker 2: try to gain a whole new following because something will
- 26:08Speaker 2: overtake Instagram.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I don't know what it is.
- 26:10Speaker 2: I feel like Metta kills off anybody that tries to
- 26:12Speaker 2: like take down or Instagram, like they're so quick a
- 26:16Speaker 2: like copying or like redoing what let's say, like Snapchat
- 26:19Speaker 2: has done and all of a sudden, Okay, they took
- 26:22Speaker 2: all the power away from Snapchat, and Snapchat is still
- 26:24Speaker 2: a thing, but it's slowly going to die.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Well, you know, it's funny we feel that way, but
- 26:28Speaker 3: that's not the case with the younger generation.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Well that's a good point.
- 26:30Speaker 3: That's how they text. That's what I find to be
- 26:32Speaker 3: so crazy. They don't get on I Message, they get
- 26:34Speaker 3: on Snapchat and they're texting people on there.
- 26:37Speaker 2: That's interesting because I got rid of snapchat in like college,
- 26:40Speaker 2: I still see it on people's phones, Like I think
- 26:41Speaker 2: I still see it on like a lot of good
- 26:43Speaker 2: good friends of my life.
- 26:43Speaker 1: They'll still snapchat each other.
- 26:45Speaker 3: It's very much. I think it's a college thing. So
- 26:47Speaker 3: my best friend from college still uses Snapchat. But my
- 26:50Speaker 3: theory is it's because she was still in a college town.
- 26:53Speaker 3: She was in Gainesville, and I'm like, girl, the second
- 26:56Speaker 3: you get out of Gainsville, you will never touch Snapchat again.
- 26:58Speaker 1: See.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I see it a lot still in friends that I
- 27:00Speaker 2: have right here in Tampa, Like they'll still get on Snapchat.
- 27:03Speaker 3: I'm like, we're tax paying citizens. What are we doing
- 27:05Speaker 3: on there?
- 27:06Speaker 1: At them? They had phill send and photos back and forth.
- 27:08Speaker 3: The only thing I like about Snapchat it's going to
- 27:10Speaker 3: see my memories from college, Like do you ever get
- 27:12Speaker 3: the like the this day in history thing from Snapchat?
- 27:15Speaker 2: That will be why I redownloaded, because I didn't even
- 27:18Speaker 2: realize that I still had that. But once I got
- 27:19Speaker 2: rid of it, I forgot that. There's probably so many
- 27:21Speaker 2: videos from college, yeah, that I had on Snapchat that
- 27:23Speaker 2: I don't see anymore.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Because it's just like random stuff. Like, okay, so flashback.
- 27:27Speaker 3: So we're recording on June twenty fourth. Right now, it's
- 27:29Speaker 3: June twenty fourth. This is me in an old production
- 27:33Speaker 3: studio at Cox Media Group, Jacksonville. I was going on
- 27:35Speaker 3: a date we'll call him g Oh. I remember this
- 27:38Speaker 3: date so vividly because it was i'd like entertained him
- 27:41Speaker 3: for like three hours. He was a nice guy, but
- 27:43Speaker 3: he was just so boring. But I remember it was
- 27:45Speaker 3: like one of my first dates post pandemic maybe, and
- 27:50Speaker 3: I remember thinking like, oh my god, this is like
- 27:51Speaker 3: one of my first adult dates, Like this is a
- 27:53Speaker 3: guy taking me out, Like what do I do?
- 27:55Speaker 1: What do you all do?
- 27:56Speaker 3: We went to San Marco and Jacksonville. We went to
- 27:59Speaker 3: Grape and Green Extreme and then I just gabbed for
- 28:01Speaker 3: like three hours.
- 28:03Speaker 1: I guess after the pandemic, it's just nice to have
- 28:04Speaker 1: social in around.
- 28:05Speaker 3: My god, I was just thrilled. I was like a
- 28:06Speaker 3: boy paying attention to me. This is so great. And
- 28:08Speaker 3: he was like cute and he had a good job.
- 28:10Speaker 3: So and then here's me in Austin, Texas. I that
- 28:13Speaker 3: was my dorm or my apartment in Austin when I
- 28:15Speaker 3: was an intern.
- 28:16Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Okay, I'm gonna see if I could get back on
- 28:18Speaker 2: because I can't even get my passwords for Facebook, so
- 28:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna try to see if I get on Snapchat.
- 28:22Speaker 2: But I feel like I would have some heinous things
- 28:24Speaker 2: on there. A lot of college yeah, a lot of
- 28:27Speaker 2: bad college memories. But speaking of making memories, there is
- 28:30Speaker 2: an opportunity. I think a couple spots left for your
- 28:32Speaker 2: getaway making memories.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Say get away, you have five more days to sign up.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Are you gonna have?
- 28:37Speaker 3: Well, am I gonna have?
- 28:38Speaker 1: What merch for the Trampa.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Bay get Away? Well, it depends on how many people
- 28:42Speaker 3: sign up, because I can get. The more people that
- 28:43Speaker 3: sign up, the boogier things I can get.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Ah, okay, all right, so make sure they have that.
- 28:49Speaker 1: I saw you filming, was it?
- 28:52Speaker 3: Oh?
- 28:52Speaker 1: Also? Okay?
- 28:52Speaker 2: When we're in Hyde Park, were you filming for Tampa
- 28:55Speaker 2: Bay Getaway or was that just like just.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Taking No, I had a phone call with with somebody
- 29:00Speaker 3: who wants to film with me next month?
- 29:03Speaker 1: Oh?
- 29:03Speaker 3: Cool?
- 29:04Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah.
