- 1:04Speaker 1: greatest thing since Fossils is Christmas Gifts. When Joe Burrow
- 1:10Speaker 1: appeared on the Netflix Quarterback Series over the summer, we
- 1:14Speaker 1: learned that he's interested in fossils. Here's a clip from
- 1:18Speaker 1: the show.
- 1:20Speaker 2: We went to the Natural History Museum. They took us
- 1:23Speaker 2: behind the scenes and showed us some really cool stuff.
- 1:26Speaker 2: It's like a library of fossils that they don't show
- 1:30Speaker 2: everybody else. It was like you go to the shoe
- 1:33Speaker 2: store and they're like, maybe we have it in the back,
- 1:35Speaker 2: and it was like all the fossils back there.
- 1:36Speaker 3: It's pretty sick.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Why were fossils on my mind? I don't know, because
- 1:40Speaker 2: they're cool. When aren't fossils on your mind? They go
- 1:44Speaker 2: back millions of years.
- 1:46Speaker 4: That's sick.
- 1:47Speaker 1: With that in mind, I guess we shouldn't have been
- 1:50Speaker 1: surprised when Joe gave his offensive lineman fossils as Christmas
- 1:54Speaker 1: gifts this year. Dave Lapham and I discussed it with
- 1:58Speaker 1: rookie O lineman Dylan Fairchild on the Bengals pep Rally Show.
- 2:03Speaker 1: So it's Christmas week. It's become customary in the NFL
- 2:07Speaker 1: for quarterbacks to get Christmas gifts for their offensive lineman.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Your quarterback is Joe Burrow, who goes above and beyond,
- 2:14Speaker 1: at least when it comes to finding something unique. Absolutely
- 2:18Speaker 1: last year he gifted the offensive Lineman samurai swords. I
- 2:22Speaker 1: didn't know how he is going to top that this year,
- 2:26Speaker 1: and I guess he has. He got you guys fossils.
- 2:31Speaker 5: Yes, sir, Yeah, they were pretty awesome too.
- 2:34Speaker 1: What is your fossil? Because they're unique, they're not all
- 2:37Speaker 1: the same, No, they're not.
- 2:39Speaker 5: I got a t Rex.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Tooth, really Rex tooth fossil.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Yes, it's honestly one of the coolest things I've ever
- 2:46Speaker 5: That's probably the coolest thing I've ever had possession of.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I mean, talk about a conversation piece when people visit
- 2:52Speaker 1: your house. What is that? That is a t Rex
- 2:55Speaker 1: tooth gifted to me by Joe Burrow and it.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Was t Rex tooth.
- 2:59Speaker 5: And then another three D printed replica of I believe
- 3:03Speaker 5: the most put together t Rex fossil, the most put
- 3:06Speaker 5: together skull of a t rex that they have. And
- 3:10Speaker 5: obviously the real thing is like probably two hundred plus pounds,
- 3:14Speaker 5: so they sized it down, gave it, you know, got it,
- 3:17Speaker 5: you know, to take home size. I got that, this
- 3:20Speaker 5: tooth and then another claw of another dinosaur that lived
- 3:25Speaker 5: in North Africa approximately sixty million years ago.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Amazing Yeah, that is unique to say the least, no doubt.
- 3:32Speaker 6: I just wonder what is the thought process when Joe
- 3:36Speaker 6: decides I'm going to give fossils and dinosaur teeth and
- 3:40Speaker 6: all that sort of thing to my offensive linemen. What
- 3:42Speaker 6: do you think he's thinking when man and he gives that.
- 3:45Speaker 5: I think he loves them, and I can see why
- 3:47Speaker 5: they're really cool, like again, the really cool conversation starters. Yeah,
- 3:51Speaker 5: number one, I just think they're really cool. You know,
- 3:54Speaker 5: there's not a lot of people in the world that
- 3:56Speaker 5: can put their hands on so walk in the streets
- 3:59Speaker 5: with the those things, you know, and so him, you know,
- 4:03Speaker 5: giving us a unique opportunity to own one of those
- 4:05Speaker 5: has been really cool.
- 4:06Speaker 7: Actually.
- 4:07Speaker 1: So you know, Joe was featured on that Netflix quarterback
- 4:10Speaker 1: series during the off season, and on one of the
- 4:13Speaker 1: episodes he discussed his interest in fossils. So it's something
- 4:17Speaker 1: that he's always had an interest in and now he's
- 4:20Speaker 1: sharing that with his guys.
- 4:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:21Speaker 5: No, it's really cool too. You know, it's he went
- 4:25Speaker 5: above and beyond with just the way that he did
- 4:27Speaker 5: it and the way that you know, it was all
- 4:29Speaker 5: put together.
- 4:30Speaker 1: So you're a married man as an NFL rookie. What
- 4:33Speaker 1: was your wife's reaction when he called or came home
- 4:35Speaker 1: and said, guess what, honey, we have a fossil. We
- 4:38Speaker 1: have a US fossil.
- 4:40Speaker 7: She was excited.
- 4:41Speaker 5: I mean she's obviously I probably found it cooler than
- 4:44Speaker 5: she did, but.
- 4:47Speaker 3: No, she's she's all for it.
- 4:49Speaker 5: I mean, we're gonna get a nice display case and
- 4:51Speaker 5: put him up in our house.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Samurai swords last year, fossils this year. I don't know
- 4:57Speaker 1: what Joe will give his own lineman next year, but
- 5:00Speaker 1: I am sure it will be as unique as the
- 5:03Speaker 1: Bengals quarterback. Now, time for the radio replays from Sunday
- 5:08Speaker 1: She lacking at pay Corpse Stadium. It is the final
- 5:12Speaker 1: Sunday of December, but it sure doesn't feel like it
- 5:16Speaker 1: here in Cincinnati. Positively, ball me in the jungle with
- 5:20Speaker 1: a temperature of sixty five degrees, A great day to
- 5:25Speaker 1: watch Joe Burrow and the Bengals as they take on
- 5:28Speaker 1: the Arizona Cardinals, And it is time for the pigskin
- 5:31Speaker 1: to fly here at Bay Corpse Stadium. Four first downs
- 5:35Speaker 1: on the opening drive, the Bengals have it first and
- 5:37Speaker 1: ten at the fourteen of Arizona. Mitch Tinsley goes in
- 5:40Speaker 1: motion from left to right. Burrow throws the screen out
- 5:43Speaker 1: to the left. Jamar Chase makes the first man mess
- 5:46Speaker 1: inside the ten, makes another mess, takes it to the
- 5:49Speaker 1: goal line.
- 5:50Speaker 8: Touchdown, Baby Bengals. Chamar Chase turning defenders into invisible men
- 6:00Speaker 8: as he takes it from the fifteen yard line, sends
- 6:03Speaker 8: two defenders to the turf and scores and the Bengals
- 6:07Speaker 8: have it first in goal with seven offensive linemen on
- 6:11Speaker 8: the field, with the ball inside the one. Seven offensive
- 6:16Speaker 8: linemen and Cody Ford lines up as a full back
- 6:19Speaker 8: at about three hundred and fifty pounds maybe more. Samaj
- 6:23Speaker 8: p Ryan is the tailback. Burrow takes the snap, gives
- 6:26Speaker 8: it to p Ryan, and he goes into the end
- 6:28Speaker 8: zone with ease. Bengals up by two touchdowns. As golly,
- 6:35Speaker 8: I don't want to even add up right the combined
- 6:38Speaker 8: weight of the seven offensive linemen. There a lot of
- 6:41Speaker 8: tonnage out there, man, I mean we're talking.
- 6:43Speaker 6: About a lot of big bodies.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Call that play the Cincinnati Zoo.
- 6:49Speaker 4: I love it.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Thirteen nothing Bengals the score. We're three minutes into the
- 6:53Speaker 1: second quarter here at pay Corp Stadium for set in
- 6:56Speaker 1: the gun, fakes a hand off to Carter, drops back
- 6:59Speaker 1: flings it toward the near side of the field. It
- 7:01Speaker 1: is caught by Wilson.
- 7:03Speaker 8: He's got running room after the catch inside the five
- 7:06Speaker 8: down to the pylon and it's a touchdown for Arizona.
- 7:10Speaker 8: Man Rico ready to hold on the logo a fifty
- 7:14Speaker 8: seven yard field goal attempt. The kick is on its way,
- 7:18Speaker 8: It has the distance. It is good.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Nice. Nice. The Bengals go with an empty backfield from
- 7:25Speaker 1: the eight yard line, shotgun snap.
- 7:27Speaker 8: Burrow fires toward the end zone. Caught a slam to
- 7:31Speaker 8: Jamar Chase. He's got his second touchdown catch of the
- 7:35Speaker 8: day and he does a jungle jump into the stands
- 7:40Speaker 8: to celebrate with Bengals fans.
- 7:43Speaker 4: That is totally awesome right there.
- 7:45Speaker 6: And here's a guy that has not had a touchdown
- 7:48Speaker 6: since the middle of October.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Well, that's over first and goal from the six. After
- 7:53Speaker 1: that five yard penalty on third down and five, Brew
- 7:56Speaker 1: and the gun, Chase Brown in the backfield with him,
- 7:58Speaker 1: trips out to the right, mar Chase alone out to
- 8:01Speaker 1: the left. Jam already has two touchdown catches. Burrow hands
- 8:04Speaker 1: it off Chase Brown. Nice jump cut toward the goal line.
- 8:07Speaker 1: He's in touchdown.
- 8:10Speaker 8: Bengals Chase Brown with a tremendous jump cut after taking
- 8:16Speaker 8: that handoff from Joe Burrow, and he scores his fourth
- 8:19Speaker 8: touchdown in two weeks. Cody Ford lines up as a
- 8:24Speaker 8: wide receiver outside the numerals at about three hundred and
- 8:27Speaker 8: fifty pounds. Burrow throws Cody Ford catches, He's down to
- 8:32Speaker 8: the fifteen, the ten, the five. He's tackled around the
- 8:39Speaker 8: three yard line, almost a big man TD for the
- 8:45Speaker 8: all time highlight reel. As Burrow threw it to Cody
- 8:49Speaker 8: Ford and the wooly Mammoth began running down the near sideline.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Burrow is under center. Sixth offensive lineman Lucas Patrick goes
- 8:58Speaker 1: in motion. They hand it.
- 8:59Speaker 8: Off Chase He's Brown goes into the end zone, standing
- 9:02Speaker 8: up for a second touchdown of the game. Flacco takes
- 9:06Speaker 8: the snap, takes a knee, tosses the ball to the
- 9:08Speaker 8: nearest official, and the final thirty three seconds will run
- 9:12Speaker 8: off the clock. As the Cincinnati Bengals dominate their opponent
- 9:17Speaker 8: for the second week in a row. They beat the
- 9:19Speaker 8: Dolphins by twenty four last week. They'll beat the Cardinals
- 9:23Speaker 8: by twenty three Today back to back wins by forty
- 9:27Speaker 8: seven points as Cincinnati beats Arizona thirty seven to fourteen.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Joe Burrow threw for three hundred and five yards with
- 9:35Speaker 1: two touchdowns, no picks, and a passer rating of one
- 9:38Speaker 1: twenty nine point one. Over the past two weeks combined,
- 9:42Speaker 1: Joe's completed seventy eight percent of his passes for six
- 9:46Speaker 1: hundred nine yards with six touchdowns and no picks. No
- 9:50Speaker 1: quarterback in the NFL is playing better. Chase Brown ran
- 9:54Speaker 1: for one hundred one yards and added forty as a
- 9:56Speaker 1: receiver for a career high combined total of one forty one.
- 10:01Speaker 1: It's the eighth time in his last ten games that
- 10:04Speaker 1: Chase has topped one hundred scrimmage yards, and after going
- 10:07Speaker 1: seven games without catching a touchdown pass Jamar Chase reeled
- 10:11Speaker 1: in two that gives him seven this season. Finally, it
- 10:16Speaker 1: was the eighth time this year that the Bengals have
- 10:19Speaker 1: scored thirty or more points, matching their total from last year.
- 10:23Speaker 1: And if you look at the roster, every starter on
- 10:25Speaker 1: offense is under contract for next season except for one,
- 10:30Speaker 1: right guard Dalton Reisner. I spoke with him after the
- 10:34Speaker 1: game Talton Bengals won by twenty four last week, twenty
- 10:38Speaker 1: three this week. That's hard to do in the NFL.
- 10:40Speaker 1: How do you guys feel about the way you played
- 10:42Speaker 1: these last two weeks?
- 10:43Speaker 4: Obviously you feel great.
- 10:44Speaker 9: I mean, like you said, it's tough to win in
- 10:45Speaker 9: the NFL, so we worked so hard. But dand day out,
- 10:48Speaker 9: the coaches, this whole organization. We take pride in man,
- 10:51Speaker 9: Cincinnati Bengals, So when we're able to win like this, man,
- 10:55Speaker 9: it makes it so much sweeter.
- 10:56Speaker 4: But I can tell you that the losses, they suck.
- 11:00Speaker 9: But sometimes when you lose those games, you're wondering what's wrong,
- 11:03Speaker 9: and it's a tough week and people are asking questions,
- 11:05Speaker 9: and I just say that it's a great feeling to
- 11:07Speaker 9: be where we're at right now because we're winning football games,
- 11:09Speaker 9: we're playing well as a unit, we're feeding off of
- 11:12Speaker 9: each other, we're having fun doing it, and it's just
- 11:15Speaker 9: it's special, man, And you can't take it for granted.
- 11:18Speaker 9: I know that we're out of the playoffs. I know
- 11:19Speaker 9: we're six and ten, but it's still special.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Does it feel like a sign of things to come?
- 11:24Speaker 1: For twenty twenty six percent?
- 11:26Speaker 4: I don't want to be that guy.
- 11:27Speaker 9: I know that, especially with like last year I followed
- 11:30Speaker 9: the Cincinnati Bengals. I've always been a Bengals fan, But regardless,
- 11:32Speaker 9: I saw the way last year ended on a really positive.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Note and winning some football games.
- 11:36Speaker 9: So I don't want to be the guy that you know,
- 11:38Speaker 9: tries to bring a positive out of a six and
- 11:40Speaker 9: ten and well that's hope seven and ten football season.
- 11:43Speaker 4: But we really are rolling.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Man.
- 11:44Speaker 4: I actually looked at my office line coach and just
- 11:46Speaker 4: felt like, you.
- 11:47Speaker 9: Know, this is the best rhythm we've been in this
- 11:48Speaker 9: last you know, and literally the last six weeks. I
- 11:51Speaker 9: mean the way we played on Thanksgiving, the way we
- 11:53Speaker 9: went and played in Buffalo. I know that we fell
- 11:55Speaker 9: short against the team that might win the AFC, but regardless,
- 11:58Speaker 9: like this, not six or seven weeks, we've been in
- 12:00Speaker 9: a really good spot. Obviously, the Ravens game at home
- 12:02Speaker 9: is a kind of a one off, but regardless, I'm
- 12:04Speaker 9: really happy to be a Bangal, Proud to be a Bengal,
- 12:06Speaker 9: Proud to work with these guys.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Man, I love these guys.
- 12:09Speaker 1: You were facing a team today that came in with
- 12:11Speaker 1: a seven game losing streak and a bad record. When
- 12:14Speaker 1: that's the case. Kind of the cliche is jump on top.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Don't let them think they could win the game. At
- 12:20Speaker 1: the end of the first quarter, the yardage was one
- 12:23Speaker 1: thirty nine to six, time of possession was thirteen and
- 12:26Speaker 1: a half minutes to one and a half. Was that
- 12:28Speaker 1: the thought process? And I mean, if so, you certainly
- 12:31Speaker 1: executed it.
- 12:32Speaker 9: I think that's always the thought process. But you never
- 12:35Speaker 9: count a dog out, especially in the NFL. I mean,
- 12:37Speaker 9: the Cardinals came to play today. We came to play
- 12:39Speaker 9: as well, and we played really good football. But it's
- 12:42Speaker 9: not like they just gave in and as soon as
- 12:44Speaker 9: we got up a few points they said, screw it,
- 12:46Speaker 9: we're done. Those guys kept fighting, and that's what we
- 12:48Speaker 9: want to go do to every NFL team. You want
- 12:49Speaker 9: to get on top of these guys. You want to
- 12:51Speaker 9: get a lead, and then you want to secure it
- 12:52Speaker 9: and keep it. But man, we were just rolling today.
- 12:54Speaker 9: It was the Bengals day to day. Hats off to
- 12:56Speaker 9: the Cardinals. Good football team, came in to try to
- 12:59Speaker 9: win a football We just had a better day.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Tell me about the Cody Ford pass. When did this
- 13:04Speaker 1: play get drawn up and what was the feeling like
- 13:07Speaker 1: on the field.
- 13:07Speaker 4: All week, talked about it all week.
- 13:09Speaker 9: We wanted to do a little bit of big personnel
- 13:11Speaker 9: this week and roll with Cody as kind of that sixth.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Offensive lineman, and we did that.
- 13:15Speaker 9: I think maybe they fell asleep a little bit thinking
- 13:17Speaker 9: that we want to throw them the ball, and.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Just an awesome moment for him on his twenty ninth birthday.
- 13:21Speaker 9: He's been a really selfless guy all year, in my opinion,
- 13:24Speaker 9: and really well deserved to get that football thrown to him.
- 13:28Speaker 9: And then also see what he did after it is
- 13:29Speaker 9: super awesome. So he executed it just like they drew
- 13:32Speaker 9: up and hats off to the coaches.
- 13:33Speaker 1: For drawing it to Joe Burrow the last couple of weeks.
- 13:36Speaker 1: It has a passer rating over one thirty, and those
- 13:39Speaker 1: two games combined, this is kind of your opportunity to
- 13:42Speaker 1: play with him, healthy, looking good. I mean, what's that
- 13:46Speaker 1: experience been like for you?
- 13:47Speaker 4: He's an ultimate competitor.
- 13:48Speaker 9: I really do love Joe the way that he goes
- 13:51Speaker 9: out there and slings the football and wants to win
- 13:53Speaker 9: football games.
- 13:53Speaker 4: And how dialed he is. You can see why the
- 13:55Speaker 4: Bengals are special.
- 13:56Speaker 9: I mean, you kind of just block your tailoff back there,
- 13:59Speaker 9: and then you see the get thrown up and he's
- 14:01Speaker 9: just dropping it in buckets.
- 14:02Speaker 4: And hitting guys right where they.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Need to be hit.
- 14:04Speaker 4: So love blocking for the guy. Got a tremendous amount
- 14:06Speaker 4: of respect for him.
- 14:07Speaker 9: You can see why he's had the success that he's
- 14:09Speaker 9: had him in Cincinnati, and.
- 14:11Speaker 4: I just hope I could be a part of it
- 14:13Speaker 4: for longer.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I would assume there's mutual interest in having you return
- 14:16Speaker 1: based on the way things are going, that.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Would be great. Man, keep pulling for me. Let's get
- 14:20Speaker 4: these guys to give me a call.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Man Weisner is thirty years old and is the Bengals
- 14:27Speaker 1: highest graded offensive lineman this year according to Pro Football Focus,
- 14:31Speaker 1: a few points ahead of a Marius Mims. I obviously
- 14:34Speaker 1: don't speak for the Bengals front office, but I would
- 14:37Speaker 1: think they would like to have all five starters back
- 14:40Speaker 1: if possible. While the usual suspects on offense made spectacular plays,
- 14:46Speaker 1: the moment that everybody in attendance we'll be talking about
- 14:50Speaker 1: was the twenty one yard catch by offensive lineman Cody Ford,
- 14:53Speaker 1: who gives new meaning to the term Ford super duty.
- 14:58Speaker 1: He discussed his first career cat after the game.
- 15:02Speaker 7: It was drawn up earlier in the week and like
- 15:04Speaker 7: a pitch kind of brought it to me and I
- 15:06Speaker 7: thought he was joking, you know, And then we went
- 15:09Speaker 7: out there practice and he was like, all right, here's
- 15:10Speaker 7: the play and we started running in and then we
- 15:12Speaker 7: went to practice the next day we ran it again
- 15:15Speaker 7: and I was like, all right, I think we're actually
- 15:17Speaker 7: gonna call this. And then we had mentioned it last night, like, hey,
- 15:20Speaker 7: if we get up some points for calling Cody's play,
- 15:22Speaker 7: So that's what happened.
- 15:24Speaker 1: And are you getting the ball if they basically don't
- 15:28Speaker 1: cover you tightly, if they just kind of slough off
- 15:30Speaker 1: expecting that you're not going to get it, I don't know.
- 15:33Speaker 7: I don't know. I don't know the number I was
- 15:36Speaker 7: in the progression or anything, because Joe kept telling me
- 15:39Speaker 7: just get wider throughout the week and the formation, so
- 15:42Speaker 7: eventually I was like, all right, I think he's just
- 15:44Speaker 7: telling me get the hell out the way so I
- 15:46Speaker 7: don't mess anybody else's routs up. But it was a
- 15:49Speaker 7: different story when it all played out.
- 15:50Speaker 1: The yards after catch were impressive. I didn't realize you
- 15:53Speaker 1: were so nimble.
- 15:54Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I'm an athlete. Everyone was like, why you
- 15:58Speaker 7: ain't scoring and I'm like, well, I would not trying
- 16:00Speaker 7: to school. I was trying to score. But I was
- 16:02Speaker 7: just running with my head down, and I was like,
- 16:05Speaker 7: when I look up, I'll be where I'm at and
- 16:06Speaker 7: whatever happens happens.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Came in were you were you nervous? What was the
- 16:10Speaker 4: feeling like when you were the play golf?
- 16:12Speaker 7: I mean I was a little nervous, but I think
- 16:14Speaker 7: I got more nervous as he threw the ball to
- 16:16Speaker 7: me and everything went slow, and I was because practice
- 16:20Speaker 7: he kind of just threw it to my test, but
- 16:22Speaker 7: out there he really like threw a field shoulder and
- 16:24Speaker 7: I was like, okay, this was this was like a
- 16:27Speaker 7: little anxious.
- 16:29Speaker 5: Was the likely split up?
- 16:30Speaker 4: I mean all by yourself.
- 16:32Speaker 7: Dream come true? I guess this every lineman's dream to
- 16:34Speaker 7: why lineup as a receiver one time?
- 16:37Speaker 1: You think the coach is knew it was your birthday?
- 16:40Speaker 7: I think they did. I think they did.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Always lying.
- 16:46Speaker 7: No, I was a tight end in junior high in
- 16:48Speaker 7: my first year of high school.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Who is your last catch against?
- 16:52Speaker 7: Uh frame? Middle school?
- 16:55Speaker 1: I think, yeah, so you lined up at fullback on
- 17:01Speaker 1: a couple of snaps. Have they ever practiced giving it
- 17:04Speaker 1: to you? As a goal line fullback.
- 17:06Speaker 7: No, but I've been trying to give them the I've
- 17:09Speaker 7: been pushing now with more than a perception.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Hey, based on your yards after catch, I think the
- 17:13Speaker 1: full back handoff must happen. I think so. As good
- 17:17Speaker 1: as the offense was, the defense might have been even better,
- 17:20Speaker 1: holding Arizona to just two hundred and thirty three yards,
- 17:24Speaker 1: easily the fewest the Bengals have allowed in a game
- 17:27Speaker 1: this year. Arizona was three for thirteen on third down conversions,
- 17:32Speaker 1: and five of the cardinals nine possessions were three and
- 17:35Speaker 1: out if you subtract a garbage time touchdown against the
- 17:39Speaker 1: Bengals backups, Cincinnati allowed one score on eight Arizona drives.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Let's hear from head coach Zach Taylor, who spent a
- 17:47Speaker 1: few minutes with Lap after the game.
- 17:50Speaker 6: How proud of you what your offense was able to
- 17:53Speaker 6: do out there today?
- 17:53Speaker 10: Yeah, really proud, you know, just scoring touchdowns on six,
- 17:56Speaker 10: I mean scoring points on six of our first seven drives.
- 17:59Speaker 10: And the field goal was we had the ball in
- 18:01Speaker 10: the minus two and worked our way out of there
- 18:03Speaker 10: and we're able to get that field goal. So you know,
- 18:06Speaker 10: that's what we intend to do. When we take the
- 18:07Speaker 10: field and defense, obviously they're a great job getting us
- 18:10Speaker 10: the ball back quickly often times and getting some stops.
- 18:13Speaker 10: And so I was just really proud of our team
- 18:14Speaker 10: in all three phases.
- 18:15Speaker 6: Today, Joe Burrow is playing some phenomenal football. Quarterback rating
- 18:20Speaker 6: last week of one forty six plus, quarterback rating this
- 18:24Speaker 6: week of one thirty six plus against You know, pretty
- 18:29Speaker 6: good defense is well put together, good schemes, play hard.
- 18:32Speaker 6: I mean, they're solid defensive units. What makes Joe Burrow
- 18:36Speaker 6: so great?
- 18:37Speaker 10: Oh, he's an elite processor, elite competitor, elite accuracy, incredible
- 18:41Speaker 10: athleticism for the position. And I think what people won't
- 18:44Speaker 10: really understand is the level of difficulty on the third
- 18:47Speaker 10: downs and the second and ten pluses today that you
- 18:49Speaker 10: face when you face Arizona. It's unique packages that really
- 18:52Speaker 10: attack you. And he was stone cold in terms of
- 18:55Speaker 10: making the protection checks and going where the ball needed
- 18:58Speaker 10: to go, and that really allowed us to to convert
- 19:00Speaker 10: early in the game, where if you don't convert those
- 19:02Speaker 10: then it's a whole different ballgame. So huge credit to
- 19:05Speaker 10: him in his communication and his ability to process first two.
- 19:08Speaker 6: Drives, touchdowns, fourteen points. What is to do for you
- 19:12Speaker 6: as a play caller, and what does it do for
- 19:14Speaker 6: Joe Burrow and your offense and your defensive football team
- 19:17Speaker 6: to get off to that kind of start.
- 19:18Speaker 10: Yeah, it's important. I mean, that's why we took the
- 19:20Speaker 10: ball in the coin toss. We win the coin toss,
- 19:21Speaker 10: we take the ball. We want to establish the leader early.
- 19:24Speaker 10: It's critical that we put pressure on them traveling across
- 19:26Speaker 10: the country, you know, with a little bit of how
- 19:29Speaker 10: their seasons gone. You want to take away any hope
- 19:31Speaker 10: early on. And I thought our offense did a great
- 19:33Speaker 10: job of finishing with the touchdown the first drive and
- 19:35Speaker 10: the defense getting a three and out was a great
- 19:37Speaker 10: way to start this game off.
- 19:38Speaker 6: What is it what has been unlocked is what is
- 19:41Speaker 6: Joe Burrow, the skill players, what's happening offensively that just
- 19:45Speaker 6: could not be found, you know earlier in the season.
- 19:48Speaker 10: We have unbelievable chemistry amongst the coaches and players. I
- 19:51Speaker 10: think it's the closest to you, and it can be
- 19:54Speaker 10: offensively in the NFL. You know, just the way that
- 19:56Speaker 10: players understand what we're trying to get out of them.
- 19:58Speaker 10: I think our coaching steps is a job applaying to
- 20:00Speaker 10: the strengths.
- 20:01Speaker 1: A lot of these guys.
- 20:02Speaker 10: We can attack teams in a lot of different ways,
- 20:05Speaker 10: and so there's just a two way confidence between the
- 20:07Speaker 10: coaches and the players that we're going to go out
- 20:08Speaker 10: there and score when we get the opportunities, and really
- 20:11Speaker 10: proud of the way the guys attack this game.
- 20:13Speaker 6: Well, it's like Bengel fans, probably players and coaches. I
- 20:16Speaker 6: don't want the season end. You guys are playing such
- 20:19Speaker 6: great football. It's entertaining. I mean, it's fun to watch
- 20:22Speaker 6: this football team go out and perform, and that's what
- 20:25Speaker 6: it's all about. Coach, How how much are you looking
- 20:28Speaker 6: forward to twenty twenty six?
- 20:30Speaker 10: Well, I want to finish this off the right way.
- 20:32Speaker 10: We have an awesome chance in front of our home
- 20:34Speaker 10: fans to get another Divisional win and finish forward to
- 20:36Speaker 10: the division and Sweet Cleveland and finish this thing the
- 20:40Speaker 10: right way, and then we'll focus on all that other
- 20:42Speaker 10: stuff next year. But right now, the important thing is
- 20:44Speaker 10: that we finish this off at home in front of
- 20:46Speaker 10: our fans the right way.

- 21:05Speaker 1: the official healthcare provider of the Bengals. Now time for
- 21:09Speaker 1: the radio guys recap lapt For the second straight week,
- 21:14Speaker 1: the Bengals dominate and win. It was twenty four points
- 21:17Speaker 1: last week, it's twenty three points this week. They're throwing
- 21:20Speaker 1: passes to three hundred and fifty pound offensive linement. It
- 21:23Speaker 1: was a fun, fun day on a beautiful weather day
- 21:25Speaker 1: for the fans of Cincinnati and a chance, as we've
- 21:28Speaker 1: talked about in recent weeks, to end the season with
- 21:31Speaker 1: a three game winning streak and momentum.
- 21:34Speaker 6: And it's all huge. I mean momentum, three game winning streak.
- 21:38Speaker 6: You know, it's a celebration. There hasn't been a lot
- 21:40Speaker 6: to celebrate this season, and Bengal fans and players and
- 21:44Speaker 6: coaches are just ready to celebrate. Joe Burrow's played the
- 21:49Speaker 6: quarterback position down the stretch here as well as I
- 21:53Speaker 6: ever ever seen a quarterback play, never mind for a month.
- 21:56Speaker 6: I'm talking about in individual games, putting together three or
- 22:00Speaker 6: four games in a role like that is not an
- 22:02Speaker 6: easy accomplishment. And his quarterback rating in the last two
- 22:06Speaker 6: weeks one forty six plus one thirty six plus.
- 22:09Speaker 1: One thirty eight point seven, don't overdo it, lap them.
- 22:13Speaker 6: I mean, just amazing though. It really is unbelievable. He's
- 22:19Speaker 6: doing everything at such a high level. But the biggest
- 22:22Speaker 6: thing that he does is throw the ball straight accurately
- 22:27Speaker 6: with touch. He sees the field. He's a processor, high
- 22:33Speaker 6: level processor. Things that he sees. Other quarterbacks just don't
- 22:38Speaker 6: it just they just never get there. And the Bengals
- 22:41Speaker 6: are very fortunate to have a guy like Joe Borrow
- 22:43Speaker 6: at the quarterback position and he's going to be around
- 22:45Speaker 6: for a long time.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Yeah, just giving the numbers for the last two weeks,
- 22:49Speaker 1: forty nine for sixty three. That's seventy eight percent, six
- 22:52Speaker 1: hundred nine yard, six touchdowns, no picks, one thirty eight
- 22:55Speaker 1: point seven, which is awesome. The first thing I asked
- 22:58Speaker 1: you on the pregame show today night, minutes before kickoff,
- 23:01Speaker 1: was to take me into the mindset of a professional
- 23:04Speaker 1: football player getting set to take on a team that's struggling,
- 23:09Speaker 1: bunch of injuries late in the season, nothing to play
- 23:12Speaker 1: for and you said, that's a team you got to
- 23:15Speaker 1: jump on. You got to demoralize them, don't give them hope.
- 23:18Speaker 1: At the end of the first quarter today, the Bengals
- 23:21Speaker 1: had run twenty three plays, the Cardinals had run three.
- 23:25Speaker 1: They did exactly what you said they had to do.
- 23:27Speaker 6: They did, I mean case clothes there. You talk about
- 23:30Speaker 6: jumping down the throats or sting, stepping on the throat,
- 23:34Speaker 6: stepping on the neck of an opponent and not letting them,
- 23:37Speaker 6: don't pick your foot up and reposition it and allow
- 23:39Speaker 6: them to breathe. The Bengals gave them no breathing room whatsoever.
- 23:44Speaker 6: And honestly, I really I don't think that Arizona expected
- 23:51Speaker 6: that kind of a tidal wave. I don't think they
- 23:52Speaker 6: were thinking that the Bengals were going to come out
- 23:54Speaker 6: of the locker room like the you know, Green Bay Packers,
- 23:58Speaker 6: of the Pittsburgh Steelers, of their multiple Super Bowl winning teams,
- 24:02Speaker 6: and they did. I mean, the Bengals here down in
- 24:05Speaker 6: the last couple of weeks have looked like a much
- 24:07Speaker 6: different football team, looks more like the team that everybody's
- 24:10Speaker 6: expecting them to be. To start the season off, they
- 24:12Speaker 6: did win their first two games and then injuries, you know, injuries,
- 24:16Speaker 6: and just never did kick that injury bug. It just
- 24:20Speaker 6: kept showing up and taking another key player out. But
- 24:25Speaker 6: they dominated in every way you can dominate in that
- 24:28Speaker 6: football game. Time of possession, third down, red zone, every
- 24:32Speaker 6: key statistical area that determines the outcome of football game.
- 24:36Speaker 6: The Bengals won it, and won it handily.
- 24:38Speaker 1: The Cardinals offense isn't great, but last week against the Falcons,
- 24:42Speaker 1: I think they scored on their first four drives and
- 24:44Speaker 1: on the next two they missed field goals, so they
- 24:46Speaker 1: weren't punting. They only punted once in the game. I
- 24:49Speaker 1: was amazed by how many three and outs the Bengals
- 24:53Speaker 1: defense got today. I mean most of the Cardinals possessions
- 24:56Speaker 1: were one, two, three kick.
- 24:58Speaker 6: Really and that again, on third down they were a juggernaut.
- 25:04Speaker 6: I mean, the Cardinals could not figure out what al
- 25:07Speaker 6: golden the Bengals defense were doing on third down. And
- 25:10Speaker 6: then the only time they were able to convert and
- 25:12Speaker 6: stay on the field and move the chains is when
- 25:14Speaker 6: they went for it on fourth down and succeeded. Other
- 25:16Speaker 6: than that, they're either putting the football or they were
- 25:18Speaker 6: losing the ball on downs. That's like a turnover. I mean,
- 25:20Speaker 6: that's a takeaway. So I agree with you, Dan. I
- 25:24Speaker 6: think the Bengals defense played maybe their best football game today,
- 25:28Speaker 6: and they kind of building to a crescendo. I mean,
- 25:31Speaker 6: every single week for the last month or so, it's
- 25:34Speaker 6: gotten better and better and better. And now are they there? No,
- 25:38Speaker 6: But I think Al Golden is pleased with the progress
- 25:41Speaker 6: that they've made. I think the position coaches are pleased,
- 25:44Speaker 6: and I think they're looking forward to what this defensive
- 25:47Speaker 6: football team can do in twenty twenty six.
- 25:49Speaker 1: We've been singing DJ Turner's praises a lot, and deservedly so.
- 25:53Speaker 1: He's a pro Bawl alternate for a reason. Today it
- 25:56Speaker 1: was Dax Hill who stood out. He had multiple pass
- 25:59Speaker 1: deflection It seems like he was stapled to whoever he
- 26:03Speaker 1: was covering during the course of the game. Now that
- 26:05Speaker 1: you've got those two guys as your outside corners, DJ
- 26:09Speaker 1: on one side, Dax on the other side, does that
- 26:12Speaker 1: look like one of the best corner tandems in the NFL.
- 26:16Speaker 1: AM I being premature and saying that.
- 26:19Speaker 6: Dan, you know your football. You've seen a lot of football,
- 26:21Speaker 6: You've done a lot of NFL games, and I love
- 26:23Speaker 6: doing football games with you because you know what you're
- 26:25Speaker 6: looking at and you know what you're seeing. And I
- 26:27Speaker 6: do think that these guys are playing very well together.
- 26:30Speaker 6: They kind of play off each other pretty darn well.
- 26:34Speaker 6: I think Al Golden is more than happy with what
- 26:37Speaker 6: he's getting out of that cornerback, that cornerback to that
- 26:39Speaker 6: cornerback tandem. I think he feels really good about them
- 26:43Speaker 6: in twenty twenty six, and he feels like they're going
- 26:46Speaker 6: to be, you know, leading his defensive charge next season.
- 26:51Speaker 6: We can get more consistent pass rush. The pass rush
- 26:54Speaker 6: has gotten better. Am I saying that it's there? No,
- 26:57Speaker 6: it hasn't arrived yet, but it's getting better. And if
- 26:59Speaker 6: they can get more of a consistent significant pass rush inside,
- 27:03Speaker 6: I think it would really help the cause because you know,
- 27:06Speaker 6: if you can muddy the pocket up by pushing the
- 27:08Speaker 6: pocket in the quarterback's face, I mean it's over. Quarterbacks
- 27:12Speaker 6: are gonna make mistakes. They're gonna throw the ball too early.
- 27:14Speaker 6: You're gonna throw it prematurely. You're gonna put it in
- 27:16Speaker 6: the spots they don't really want to put it in
- 27:18Speaker 6: because they can't see. So I think the draft in
- 27:24Speaker 6: twenty twenty six and free agency signings in twenty twenty
- 27:27Speaker 6: six are going to be big for the Bengals defensive
- 27:30Speaker 6: football team. I think if that's handled appropriately and they
- 27:34Speaker 6: do get some significant additions that can really help this
- 27:37Speaker 6: defensive football team, watch out. It might be damn good.
- 27:40Speaker 6: In twenty twenty six.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Amarus Mems suffered a shin injury today, came back and
- 27:45Speaker 1: played some IJP Ryan. It looked really bad when it
- 27:48Speaker 1: was wincing on the bench. He came back and played.
- 27:51Speaker 1: How significant is that when you have no chance of
- 27:53Speaker 1: making the playoffs and these important players refuse to call
- 27:58Speaker 1: it a day.
- 27:59Speaker 6: I think it's been I think you can build off
- 28:01Speaker 6: of that. I think it's really huge. I mean it's
- 28:03Speaker 6: like this football team doesn't quit on each other, you know.
- 28:06Speaker 6: I think they think a lot of each other. I
- 28:07Speaker 6: think they think the world of each other. I think
- 28:09Speaker 6: they respect each other as people and in football players.
- 28:13Speaker 6: I think they're all smart football players. They have high
- 28:15Speaker 6: football IQs and they understand reasons why they lost football
- 28:21Speaker 6: games and why they didn't play as well as they
- 28:23Speaker 6: had hoped they were going to play. I mean, they
- 28:24Speaker 6: start the season off to and oh and you lose
- 28:28Speaker 6: people to injury, like we've already talked about earlier in
- 28:31Speaker 6: this show. And you lose Joe Burrow, I mean you've
- 28:34Speaker 6: lost one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. That
- 28:36Speaker 6: hurts you. I mean that kills you. It doesn't just
- 28:39Speaker 6: hurt you, It dissects you. Man, it just cuts you up.
- 28:43Speaker 6: So you know, I do think that they've got players,
- 28:51Speaker 6: and you know, again if they can supplement and add
- 28:55Speaker 6: to it with free agency in the draft.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Watch out as a former, are you jealous that they
- 29:01Speaker 1: drew up a play for.
- 29:02Speaker 6: Cody Ford tremendously?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Lam would have scored.
- 29:10Speaker 6: I'm telling you, man would have taken it to the
- 29:12Speaker 6: house because I mean, in high school you play multiple sports.
- 29:16Speaker 6: Cody I'm sure did too. He probably wrestled and played whatever,
- 29:19Speaker 6: put the shot through the discus whatever. I did all
- 29:22Speaker 6: that stuff too, And uh, you know it's like, yeah, man,
- 29:25Speaker 6: you know, give me a chance. I can show you
- 29:28Speaker 6: something I can catch. That was great. That was great
- 29:31Speaker 6: for all big men. I'm sure William the Refrigerator Perry
- 29:34Speaker 6: was like, yeah, man, that's what I'm talking about. That's
- 29:36Speaker 6: what he was. The pioneer of the Daniel boone of
- 29:40Speaker 6: the big guys, you know, making plays and scoring touchdowns.
- 29:43Speaker 6: So yeah, it was. And I thought it was funny
- 29:46Speaker 6: too when he went to the sideline and he gave Zach,
- 29:48Speaker 6: you know, a high five, and then he came out
- 29:50Speaker 6: later It's like, come on, Zach, excuse me yet, I'm here,
- 29:53Speaker 6: I'm ready. I'm ready to do it for you. I
- 29:56Speaker 6: can score again. So uh, that was a I think
- 30:01Speaker 6: that was a big That was an energy boost, you know.
- 30:03Speaker 6: I think everybody, everybody kind of reveled in the in
- 30:08Speaker 6: the excitement that Cody Ford was feeling what he was experiencing.
- 30:11Speaker 6: And plus, I mean it helped the football team. That's
- 30:14Speaker 6: a surprise attack. I mean they didn't stop it, they
- 30:17Speaker 6: didn't defend it. That dog will hunt all day long.
- 30:21Speaker 1: So the Bengals beat a three and twelve team today.
- 30:23Speaker 1: They face a four and twelve team next week in
- 30:25Speaker 1: the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are feisty, Shador Sanders is
- 30:29Speaker 1: trying to earn a job for next year. They beat
- 30:32Speaker 1: the Steelers, upset the Steelers today to force a critical
- 30:35Speaker 1: game next week between Baltimore and Pittsburgh. I would not
- 30:38Speaker 1: expect the third straight blowout of twenty plus next Sunday.
- 30:42Speaker 6: I agree. I think you gotta get ready for a slabyknocker.
- 30:46Speaker 6: Pittsburgh went into Cleveland and Cleveland ends up winning the
- 30:49Speaker 6: football game. That's that's big though. I mean, you know, Pittsburgh,
- 30:53Speaker 6: they went, they win, They're in. I mean, that's that's like,
- 30:57Speaker 6: come on, now, they got Aaron Rodgers at the quarterback
- 31:00Speaker 6: position and Cleveland has to have a four down stop
- 31:02Speaker 6: at the end of the football game to secure that victory.
- 31:05Speaker 6: A lot of good things happened there, things that the
- 31:07Speaker 6: Cleveland Browns can build off of. And and you're right,
- 31:11Speaker 6: I mean, this rivalry, I know from the playing days,
- 31:15Speaker 6: this one is personal. This one is heightened because Paul
- 31:21Speaker 6: Brown founded both franchises. Man, whenever the pit that's Cleveland
- 31:26Speaker 6: Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals went at it. If you
- 31:30Speaker 6: split felt, you know, like that's pretty good. Defend your
- 31:33Speaker 6: home turf, if you swept the Cleveland Browns, we were like, yeah,
- 31:38Speaker 6: that's I mean, there's some things, certain things you want
- 31:41Speaker 6: to do to consider a successful season. That was always
- 31:44Speaker 6: in Paul Brown's book. That was that was up on
- 31:47Speaker 6: the list up there. And you look at it, Dan,
- 31:50Speaker 6: the AFC North. You know, it's not a bunch of
- 31:51Speaker 6: slaps man, it's not. You know, these guys are good
- 31:55Speaker 6: football players, good coaches, play good so solid sound football.
- 31:59Speaker 6: So that bodes well for the future too.
- 32:02Speaker 1: As I record this podcast, we still don't have a
- 32:05Speaker 1: game time for the season finale versus Cleveland. I can
- 32:09Speaker 1: tell you that Cincinnati opens as a seven point favorite.
- 32:13Speaker 1: That's a wrap on the Arizona win. Up next, it's
- 32:17Speaker 1: this week's Fun Facts Conversation, where you get to know
- 32:20Speaker 1: the person under the pads. Tip for some fun facts
- 32:24Speaker 1: with defensive end Isaiah Foski from Antioch, California, which is
- 32:28Speaker 1: not too far from San Francisco. I feel like when
- 32:31Speaker 1: people are asked what's your favorite city in the US,
- 32:35Speaker 1: more often than not, San Francisco is on the list.
- 32:38Speaker 1: What do you like about being from northern California?
- 32:41Speaker 3: Oh? The food for sure? Like every time I go
- 32:44Speaker 3: back to back home Mcalli, I get Mexican food every
- 32:47Speaker 3: single time. Go to any random food truck, you just
- 32:50Speaker 3: gonna hit every time, no doubt.
- 32:54Speaker 1: I read that your dad served in the Navy. Did
- 32:56Speaker 1: that result in a disciplined childhood for you?
- 33:00Speaker 3: For sure? Because he was in the Navy. Then he
- 33:03Speaker 3: was a police officer, So I don't Yeah, I don't
- 33:07Speaker 3: even have to say much after that. So yeah, it
- 33:09Speaker 3: was like really disciplinary type of parenting and I just
- 33:12Speaker 3: follow on. I's just a person I am.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Now we're chatting with Isaiah Foski. According to a pre
- 33:17Speaker 1: draft scouting report, you started getting attention from colleges in
- 33:21Speaker 1: middle school and got your first college offer in eighth
- 33:25Speaker 1: grade from Kansas. Is that true?
- 33:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true. I didn't even know what a scholarship was.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I was just prepared for high school and they came
- 33:35Speaker 3: out of pretty much nowhere. Is this offer me like
- 33:37Speaker 3: through someone else telling me. They couldn't like talk to
- 33:39Speaker 3: me directly, and they say, yeah, we're offering you. I
- 33:42Speaker 3: didn't even know what Kansas was like back then. I
- 33:44Speaker 3: was bad at geography, so they gave me to offer.
- 33:48Speaker 1: You played high school football at one of the most
- 33:50Speaker 1: famous programs in the country, Day La Salle, a school
- 33:53Speaker 1: that once famously had a one hundred and fifty one
- 33:55Speaker 1: game winning streak. How did playing there prepare you for
- 33:59Speaker 1: college and what you're doing now?
- 34:01Speaker 3: I feel like playing at Dale Cell, playing at Notre Dame,
- 34:05Speaker 3: how my parents taught me, and just being buy the books,
- 34:10Speaker 3: doing everything right, working hard. I feel like that was
- 34:12Speaker 3: just the backbone of everything the Dale Cell, like mentioned,
- 34:17Speaker 3: being a man of integrity. That's like the one big
- 34:19Speaker 3: thing that I brought from Dale Sell and I brought
- 34:21Speaker 3: it all into the rest of my life.
- 34:22Speaker 1: We're visiting with Isaiah Foski. You could have gone just
- 34:25Speaker 1: about anywhere. Your final five schools included Ohio State and Michigan,
- 34:29Speaker 1: but ultimately, as you mentioned, you chose Notre Dame. Why
- 34:32Speaker 1: the fighting Irish, like I was.
- 34:34Speaker 3: The same everything from Dale South and Notre Dame. They
- 34:38Speaker 3: just pretty much just went hand in hand, like they're
- 34:40Speaker 3: pretty much the same ZAC school. So I just felt
- 34:43Speaker 3: really comfortable there, and once I went there, it was
- 34:45Speaker 3: just amazing.
- 34:47Speaker 1: It's really hard to hold an all time record at
- 34:50Speaker 1: Notre Dame, but you do. You are the all time
- 34:54Speaker 1: sax leader at that school, which is pretty remarkable. Describe
- 34:57Speaker 1: the feeling when you broke Justin tucks all time record.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that was great. That was like such an amazing,
- 35:04Speaker 3: surreal moment because that year I was really starting to
- 35:07Speaker 3: get to talk to Justin Tuck and he was just
- 35:09Speaker 3: telling me how much he wanted me to be his record.
- 35:11Speaker 3: That was like before the season and like just talking
- 35:13Speaker 3: to him He was helped me throughout that season, and
- 35:16Speaker 3: then when I finally got it, I was just it
- 35:18Speaker 3: was a snow game too, first time ever playing the
- 35:20Speaker 3: snow on the senior night, and I got it, and
- 35:23Speaker 3: then the whole stadium in erupts. All my teammates started
- 35:27Speaker 3: giving me high fives and it was just amazing.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Will you be as gracious if somebody comes close to
- 35:32Speaker 1: breaking your record? Or secretly, will you say no, no,
- 35:35Speaker 1: finish with twenty six? No?
- 35:37Speaker 3: I want someone to beat my record.
- 35:38Speaker 4: I really do.
- 35:39Speaker 3: I feel like there's a lot of talent at Nordon
- 35:41Speaker 3: that someone could beat it.
- 35:42Speaker 1: What did you enjoy most about four years in South Bend?
- 35:46Speaker 3: The people like, not much to do in South Bend.
- 35:49Speaker 3: It's really just Notre Dame itself, and it's just the
- 35:52Speaker 3: people at Norday was really what makes nor Day nor Dame.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Do you have a tiny play like a champion today
- 35:58Speaker 1: signed in your house?
- 36:00Speaker 3: I don't have it here, but I had it at
- 36:03Speaker 3: my dad.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Would you were selected in the second round of the
- 36:07Speaker 1: twenty twenty three draft by the New Orleans Saints number
- 36:10Speaker 1: forty overall. Describe that day leading up to getting that
- 36:14Speaker 1: phone call.
- 36:15Speaker 3: God, that day, I was I was hoping I was
- 36:18Speaker 3: gonna go first round, but you know it'll end up
- 36:22Speaker 3: that way. But going uh the fortieth pig to the
- 36:25Speaker 3: New Orleans Saints, that was just a crazy experience having
- 36:28Speaker 3: all my friends and family next to me, have my
- 36:30Speaker 3: wife now right next to me too, which is a
- 36:32Speaker 3: crazy experience. I will never forget that moment.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Super stressful.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Yeah, like it was. But then my thing it was
- 36:40Speaker 3: wherever I go. I know, God just put me in
- 36:42Speaker 3: this place for a reason and that's what kind of
- 36:45Speaker 3: like eased me down and just just leaning all my
- 36:48Speaker 3: faith throughout all of it.
- 36:50Speaker 1: New Orleans is very different from South Bend. How did
- 36:53Speaker 1: you enjoy two years in the big easy?
- 36:55Speaker 3: Like I said, how I like California their food, New
- 36:58Speaker 3: Orleans their food big foodie. Though New Orleans food was
- 37:02Speaker 3: it was great, but it was it was a little
- 37:05Speaker 3: bit of adjustment. Humidity that was the biggest adjustment. That
- 37:08Speaker 3: was when I first got there. That was killing me.
- 37:11Speaker 3: But then after a while you kind of got used
- 37:12Speaker 3: to it.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Isaiah. After a couple of years with the Saints, you
- 37:15Speaker 1: joined the Bengals early this season. You were reunited with
- 37:18Speaker 1: your defensive coordinator from your final year at Notre Dame
- 37:21Speaker 1: Al Golden. Did you feel like you were now playing
- 37:24Speaker 1: for a coach or playing for a coach again who
- 37:26Speaker 1: really knew what you were capable of doing? Oh?
- 37:29Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. He saw me at my high in college,
- 37:33Speaker 3: so you knew what I was capable of. And just
- 37:35Speaker 3: being able to just see him again run his defense again,
- 37:38Speaker 3: it's just my first came roun. I was like, oh yeah,
- 37:39Speaker 3: I remember all that stuff. Yeah, yeah, because I remember
- 37:42Speaker 3: that play and it was just all like a familiarity
- 37:45Speaker 3: with all.
- 37:46Speaker 1: You had to bide your time on the practice squad
- 37:48Speaker 1: for a while. You've been active on the bengals fifty
- 37:50Speaker 1: three man roster in recent weeks. Tell me a little
- 37:53Speaker 1: bit about your experience of being a Bengal so far.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Oh, it's been great so far. I've been started, like
- 37:58Speaker 3: pretty much started from the bottom going squad, but just
- 38:01Speaker 3: waiting my turn, making the most of my opportunities, even
- 38:03Speaker 3: it's a special teams or one player on defense, just
- 38:06Speaker 3: making most of my opportunities.
- 38:08Speaker 1: All right. A few wild card topics now with Isaiah Foski.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Who is your all time favorite athlete in any sport
- 38:15Speaker 1: and why.
- 38:17Speaker 3: This might be a crazy one, not even crazy but
- 38:21Speaker 3: I will always I got to Calvin Johnson probably love
- 38:25Speaker 3: watching his film. I was a tight end back in
- 38:27Speaker 3: high school, and when I was younger, I always wanted
- 38:29Speaker 3: to be a tight end, even though he wasn't tight.
- 38:31Speaker 3: I just love watching Calvin Johnson and Adrian Peterson. I
- 38:34Speaker 3: was like, once I get the ball, I want to
- 38:35Speaker 3: run like Adrian Peterson.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Don't we all?
- 38:38Speaker 7: So?
- 38:38Speaker 1: You're six'. Five were you megatron like as a high
- 38:41Speaker 1: school tight?
- 38:41Speaker 3: End, Yeah that's WHY i always watched. HIM i was,
- 38:44Speaker 3: Like i'm Gonna i'm gonna Make megatron type touchdowns in
- 38:48Speaker 3: the end.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Zone If i'm not. Mistaken you have three older. Sisters
- 38:52Speaker 1: did they accuse you of getting special treatment as the
- 38:55Speaker 1: first boy in the. Family, yeah they probably still.
- 38:59Speaker 3: Do they probably know not, no BUT i get like
- 39:02Speaker 3: a little bit of special treatment every TIME i come
- 39:04Speaker 3: back home If i'm not even at home a lot of,
- 39:05Speaker 3: times especially ONCE i left for, college but in high school,
- 39:09Speaker 3: TOO i was just always the only, boy always hanging
- 39:12Speaker 3: out with my mom and my, dad and he's just
- 39:14Speaker 3: a little bit of special.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Treatment your family's not. Nearby did they get the chance
- 39:18Speaker 1: to come to many of your?
- 39:19Speaker 3: Games, nah they haven't beigures there was playing on going
- 39:22Speaker 3: To New orleans for some, games and then ONCE i came,
- 39:25Speaker 3: here it was just a little bit a little bit
- 39:26Speaker 3: harder for them to come out. There But i'll be
- 39:28Speaker 3: able to go out there off, Season.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Isaiah other than playing, football what are you good? At?
- 39:34Speaker 3: Say i'm good at a lot of, things BUT i
- 39:36Speaker 3: am good at, suggesting suggesting movies to?
- 39:40Speaker 1: You all, Right i'm. Game oh, uh.
