- 0:02Speaker 1: On Sky Lives Australia. This is the winder Panale Show.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Good evening and welcome to the Rita Panehe Show. I'm
- 0:10Speaker 2: Danikiti Giorgio. Coming up tonight number forty seven. Donald Trump
- 0:15Speaker 2: is officially sworn in as President of the United States.
- 0:18Speaker 2: We will have full coverage of the historic event with
- 0:20Speaker 2: Kosher Gada. Is this the end of woke? Trump immediately
- 0:24Speaker 2: signs executive orders only recognizing male and female genders and
- 0:29Speaker 2: has also banned DEEI programs. Josh Hammer is standing by
- 0:34Speaker 2: Max Abrams on the president's crackdown on Mexican cartels and
- 0:38Speaker 2: illegal aliens, and of course left he's losing it as
- 0:42Speaker 2: we say farewell to a man who resembled a potato
- 0:46Speaker 2: instead of a president.
- 0:47Speaker 3: America is a nation that can be defined in a
- 0:50Speaker 3: single word.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I was joining me now is Sky News contributor Koshergada. Kosher,
- 0:58Speaker 2: great to see you, Thank you so much. Look, it's
- 1:00Speaker 2: been a huge day. Has it a very historic day,
- 1:03Speaker 2: not just for the United States but for the whole world.
- 1:05Speaker 2: There's a lot to get through, but firstly I want
- 1:07Speaker 2: to start on this because Donald Trump has signed pardons
- 1:10Speaker 2: for around fifteen hundred participants in the January sixth, twenty
- 1:14Speaker 2: twenty one riot at the US Capitol Kosher.
- 1:17Speaker 4: He was always going to do that. He's surprised so.
- 1:20Speaker 2: That this was his first port of call.
- 1:23Speaker 5: This was definitely a key signature issue. Expectations among his
- 1:26Speaker 5: base were very, very high. There was a little bit
- 1:29Speaker 5: of a question mark. There were some reports coming out
- 1:31Speaker 5: there that maybe he won't do all of them, maybe
- 1:32Speaker 5: it won't be a blanket pardon possibly, and there was
- 1:35Speaker 5: a little bit of a civil war going on within
- 1:37Speaker 5: his base about that. But he delivered to them. And
- 1:40Speaker 5: I think on the heels of what Biden did today,
- 1:42Speaker 5: which is the other big story of all his pardons
- 1:44Speaker 5: preemptively to controversial figures and his family members, he just
- 1:47Speaker 5: really paved the way for this. I think it's all
- 1:50Speaker 5: fifteen hundred. There's six people where he's commuted their sentences,
- 1:53Speaker 5: and they might eventually result in a pardon, but all
- 1:55Speaker 5: in this is a full cleansing of what pretty much
- 1:59Speaker 5: most of the country as an order prosecution of Americans
- 2:02Speaker 5: have been in there for four years, with the punishment
- 2:06Speaker 5: that far outpeaced the crimes committed.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Absolutely, and I think that there will be a lot
- 2:09Speaker 2: of supporters celebrating this decision. But yeah, interesting, it was
- 2:13Speaker 2: one of his first orders. But speaking of Donald Trump
- 2:16Speaker 2: has signed more than two hundred executive orders on his
- 2:19Speaker 2: first day. I've got to say kosher. He really wasted
- 2:23Speaker 2: no time because you look at the footage. He went
- 2:26Speaker 2: from the inauguration to the actual celebrations themselves, and then
- 2:30Speaker 2: suddenly he was ushered into an office where the cameras
- 2:33Speaker 2: were on him as he was signing one executive order
- 2:36Speaker 2: after another. What are some of the key items on
- 2:40Speaker 2: that list?
- 2:40Speaker 5: And you know, it's unlike anything I've ever seen, at
- 2:42Speaker 5: least in the past several presidents. It's because six months
- 2:46Speaker 5: leading up to this, he already had funded, privately funded
- 2:48Speaker 5: his transition team, and all of these ducks were in
- 2:50Speaker 5: a row ready to go legally, and everything else on
- 2:52Speaker 5: his desk. It spans again at the pardons, like we
- 2:56Speaker 5: just talked about hiring freezers for the federal government, forcing
- 2:59Speaker 5: people to come back into work physically in the office
- 3:01Speaker 5: five days a week. Post COVID declaring a national emergency
- 3:05Speaker 5: at the border, which is going to unlock a whole
- 3:07Speaker 5: host of other things that come out of that. On
- 3:09Speaker 5: his immigration issue, we're drawing from certain international agreements. We're
- 3:13Speaker 5: drawing from the World Health Organization, which many people are
- 3:16Speaker 5: angry about post COVID. And there's another of fifteen that
- 3:19Speaker 5: I'm not even mentioning.
- 3:20Speaker 2: No, that's fair enough. I do want to go through
- 3:22Speaker 2: some of the more international ones soon. But it feels
- 3:24Speaker 2: like he's really trying to clean up the public service
- 3:27Speaker 2: with these executive executive orders. Why do you think that
- 3:30Speaker 2: is a priority for Donald Trump.
- 3:32Speaker 5: That's one thing where with the swipe of a pen
- 3:34Speaker 5: he can do it, because that is where the executive
- 3:36Speaker 5: branch has jurisdiction, that's in his purview. And a lot
- 3:40Speaker 5: of it is just enforcing laws around the books or
- 3:43Speaker 5: trying to shrink the bloat of government. All the doge
- 3:46Speaker 5: cutting and all that will fall into that as well.
- 3:48Speaker 5: Some of them he's testing the limit of the law
- 3:52Speaker 5: by design, for example, ending birthright citizenship, which I think
- 3:55Speaker 5: no country, maybe one other country has this, ending birth
- 3:58Speaker 5: right citizenship for illegally. For example, you come in illegally,
- 4:01Speaker 5: you have a baby, you don't automatically eat you a
- 4:03Speaker 5: citizenship that will be tested in the courts, and he
- 4:06Speaker 5: knows that. So summer in that category, but a lot
- 4:08Speaker 5: of the other ones, to your point is just it
- 4:09Speaker 5: falls in his purview. He's not wasting any time and
- 4:12Speaker 5: anything where he doesn't have to rely on Congress, doesn't
- 4:14Speaker 5: have to rely on the judiciary.
- 4:15Speaker 4: He's just going full speed.
- 4:17Speaker 2: He's absolutely going full speed. And what do you think
- 4:19Speaker 2: that this says about the sort of president that he
- 4:22Speaker 2: will be, That he's not mucking around and a lot
- 4:24Speaker 2: of them he made promises before the election he won
- 4:27Speaker 2: on that mandate, he's getting straight down to business. What
- 4:29Speaker 2: do you think the next four years will be like?
- 4:31Speaker 5: If today's any indication, and let's hope he doesn't lose steam,
- 4:35Speaker 5: we really are going to see huge change and huge disruption.
- 4:38Speaker 5: You know, this was such a high contrast election in
- 4:40Speaker 5: every which way, interests of policy, in terms of substance,
- 4:43Speaker 5: in terms of style, in terms of energy, in terms
- 4:45Speaker 5: of stamina, all of it. And today is finally the
- 4:48Speaker 5: fruits of that labor of what was a very hard
- 4:51Speaker 5: fought campaign is coming to light. And if this is
- 4:54Speaker 5: an indication of what's to come, it's not going to
- 4:56Speaker 5: be anything like the first time, because he's much more
- 4:58Speaker 5: organized and it's also much more prepared. A lot of
- 5:01Speaker 5: the attacks from the other side have fizzled out so
- 5:04Speaker 5: that it's hard for them to rerun those attacks. And
- 5:06Speaker 5: you'd have to think that somebody who's been impeached and dted, convicted,
- 5:10Speaker 5: almost assassinated is a changed human being, has nothing to lose,
- 5:14Speaker 5: and he's just going to leave everything out on the
- 5:15Speaker 5: field for the country.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's going to be a very interesting four years
- 5:19Speaker 2: ahead of today, is anything to go by, boy, We're.
- 5:21Speaker 4: In for a fascinating ride.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Now, we mentioned some of the international executive orders, and
- 5:26Speaker 2: I found this one to be particularly interesting because Donald
- 5:29Speaker 2: Trump has announced he is pulling out of the Paris
- 5:32Speaker 2: Climate Accord.
- 5:33Speaker 6: This is what he said, I'm immediately withdrawing from the unfair,
- 5:36Speaker 6: one sided Paris Climate Accord ripoff. The United States will
- 5:46Speaker 6: not sabotise our own industries.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Well, China pollutes with impunity, Kosher.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I want to get to the consequences for Australia in
- 5:53Speaker 2: a moment. But firstly, you know, Donald Trump's been professing
- 5:56Speaker 2: the new green scam, as he's been calling renewable energy
- 6:00Speaker 2: for the last few years, so this doesn't.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Come as a surprise.
- 6:04Speaker 2: But what does it mean now for climate targets that
- 6:07Speaker 2: were put in place by the Biden administration.
- 6:10Speaker 5: It dismantles them. And this whole Paris Climate Accord has
- 6:13Speaker 5: been a yo yo where Obama signed them in as
- 6:15Speaker 5: soon as Trump won. The first time he withdrew there
- 6:18Speaker 5: was sort of an expiration period where he could do
- 6:20Speaker 5: it overnight, had to let it run its course. Finally
- 6:23Speaker 5: Withdrew lost the election, Biden comes and reinstates it, and
- 6:26Speaker 5: now back to removing it. So each time that yoyo
- 6:29Speaker 5: sort of has been going back and forth. But I
- 6:31Speaker 5: think you know, as he said there, that it runs
- 6:33Speaker 5: antibetical to his agenda, which is US energy dominance, growing
- 6:37Speaker 5: industry at home, and these types of agreements. Even if
- 6:40Speaker 5: you support wanting to keep the planet clean, which I
- 6:42Speaker 5: think most people do, these agreements don't get there. It's
- 6:45Speaker 5: just a massive transfer of power and transfer of wealth
- 6:48Speaker 5: from some nations to others, some sectorst others, and it
- 6:51Speaker 5: means in time, when this stuff is unwound, it will
- 6:54Speaker 5: not cease to exist.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Well, hopefully this is a big wake up call for
- 6:57Speaker 2: here in Australia with our renewable energy fantasy that we're
- 7:00Speaker 2: going down under. But what does pulling out the Paris
- 7:04Speaker 2: Climate Accord now mean for Australia because it had been
- 7:07Speaker 2: foreshadowed for some time. Does it impact us at all?
- 7:12Speaker 5: Hopefully it gives a little bit of a permission structure
- 7:14Speaker 5: to push harder because there's been a minio yo here too.
- 7:16Speaker 5: We're promised to abd I think signed on to it,
- 7:19Speaker 5: and then he actually wanted to withdraw from it as
- 7:21Speaker 5: the details came out, and then couldn't politically and all.
- 7:24Speaker 4: The rest of it.
- 7:24Speaker 5: So maybe this will We've got our own election coming
- 7:26Speaker 5: up over here. This might give paid the way for
- 7:29Speaker 5: that type of discussion. Also, just specifically that transfer of
- 7:33Speaker 5: wealth and power that we mentioned, The United States taxpayer
- 7:36Speaker 5: funds a lot of projects that other countries are beneficiaries
- 7:39Speaker 5: of through this accord, and if we pull out, if
- 7:41Speaker 5: the US pulls out, then that funding dries up, and
- 7:44Speaker 5: that may have some ripple effect to other countries, including Australia.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Well, I'm just quite it fascinating that he's putting America first,
- 7:49Speaker 2: which is exactly what he promised to do, and I
- 7:51Speaker 2: hope that that sets a standard for places like Australia first,
- 7:54Speaker 2: put your own country first and stop relying overseas. Now,
- 7:57Speaker 2: let's move on, because one of the other things that
- 7:59Speaker 2: was quite notable was the big tech titans who were
- 8:03Speaker 2: on full display at the inauguration. You had Mark Zuckerberg,
- 8:08Speaker 2: Jeff Bezos, Sunda Pitchai, and Tim Cook. They all hung
- 8:12Speaker 2: out together and apparently it was by choice. They looked
- 8:14Speaker 2: very chummy in a number of the photos. But I
- 8:17Speaker 2: read that the combined net wealth of the billionaires who
- 8:20Speaker 2: attended the event was one point two trillion US dollars kosher,
- 8:26Speaker 2: which is absolutely phenomenal. Now, some of these tech giants
- 8:30Speaker 2: we know in the past, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, they
- 8:33Speaker 2: have criticized Donald Trump, but now it seems the tighters turn.
- 8:37Speaker 2: They're all suddenly kissing the ring. Why do you think
- 8:39Speaker 2: it's important in particular, not just for billionaires, but for
- 8:42Speaker 2: the technology world to be in with Donald Trump as
- 8:45Speaker 2: opposed to out.
- 8:46Speaker 5: This is a big story from the selection. The tight
- 8:48Speaker 5: has turned because Trump turned it. They're sort of keen
- 8:51Speaker 5: kicking and screaming because decidedly over the past I would
- 8:55Speaker 5: say three or four decades have been while before Trump,
- 8:57Speaker 5: Silicon Valley has been very favorable to the last in
- 9:00Speaker 5: cash and kind. If you look at their donations, if
- 9:03Speaker 5: you look at the issues set that they lobby for.
- 9:05Speaker 5: It's not always in line with the America First, or
- 9:08Speaker 5: sort of the populist mantra, and in kind, all the
- 9:11Speaker 5: suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story or of COVID
- 9:15Speaker 5: origin theories and all of that helped one side much
- 9:18Speaker 5: much more than the other. So it's really interesting from
- 9:21Speaker 5: that to this where they're kissing the ring and donating
- 9:24Speaker 5: to his inauguration fund and looking all chummy. I think
- 9:27Speaker 5: some of it might be self preservation or expediency on
- 9:30Speaker 5: their part, which is fine. You don't have to like
- 9:32Speaker 5: each other, but if you've got common cause for the
- 9:35Speaker 5: goal of America First, wonderful. And some of it might
- 9:38Speaker 5: be that they just know that this is where the
- 9:40Speaker 5: power is now and it's in their interest to get
- 9:44Speaker 5: on board because if not, they'll be left behind.
- 9:46Speaker 2: But also, what does it say about Donald Trump as
- 9:48Speaker 2: a businessman, because you know, it would be easy just
- 9:52Speaker 2: to snub these people who have been quite rude to
- 9:54Speaker 2: him in public forums for many years. But he knows
- 9:57Speaker 2: how to foster relationships.
- 9:58Speaker 5: He really does, which is so funny given to us
- 10:00Speaker 5: the caricature that most of the world's media put on
- 10:04Speaker 5: him and painted him as he's actually very good at
- 10:07Speaker 5: he will CounterPunch. We all know that he's coarse in
- 10:09Speaker 5: his style, but he is actually very good at letting
- 10:11Speaker 5: bygones be bygones when it's time.
- 10:13Speaker 4: To forge a new alliance.
- 10:15Speaker 5: You could see that with all sorts of people, from
- 10:17Speaker 5: Megan Kelly as an example, a journalist, to these tact folks.
- 10:20Speaker 4: Over here and everyone in between.
- 10:22Speaker 5: If there's common ground to be found for his vision
- 10:26Speaker 5: of America, first he will.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Do a deal. He will do it, which is a
- 10:29Speaker 4: good president.
- 10:30Speaker 2: That's a good later, in my opinion, a very good later.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Now.
- 10:33Speaker 2: President Trump also vowed to be the first commander in
- 10:36Speaker 2: chief to put US astronauts on Mars.
- 10:39Speaker 6: This is what he said, And we will pursue our
- 10:41Speaker 6: manifest destiny into the Stars, launching American astronauts to plant
- 10:47Speaker 6: the stars and stripes on the planet Mars.
- 10:50Speaker 2: But I got to say, I really liked this. This
- 10:52Speaker 2: response from a lot. Musk says it all. Oh, he's
- 10:58Speaker 2: very happy, Alon Musks is stoked. But you know, look,
- 11:01Speaker 2: the space race is interesting at the moment, Kosher, because
- 11:04Speaker 2: you've got countries worldwide, China, Russia, everybody is competing in
- 11:08Speaker 2: that sphere. Now, what role does the US.
- 11:11Speaker 5: Play such a central question. So it's been fifty six
- 11:14Speaker 5: years since America decidedly took the mantle there and sent
- 11:18Speaker 5: the first man on the moon. Nobody else has done
- 11:20Speaker 5: it since then, and you could argue that that era
- 11:24Speaker 5: was the peak of US exceptionalism and ingenuity, and it
- 11:28Speaker 5: all sort of manifests in that moment of Neil Armstrong
- 11:31Speaker 5: going on there and having a phone call with Richard Nixon,
- 11:33Speaker 5: and since then, the last half century it's been a
- 11:36Speaker 5: managed declient in so many aspects you a society economically, culturally,
- 11:40Speaker 5: and everything else. So Trump clearly has a vision all
- 11:43Speaker 5: these things he's talking about in terms of economics, culture, regulations,
- 11:46Speaker 5: foreign policy, all of that America first make it strong,
- 11:49Speaker 5: and then the manifestation of that, the pinnacle of it
- 11:52Speaker 5: is going back and winning the space race and out
- 11:55Speaker 5: competing other countries that have come a long way like
- 11:57Speaker 5: China since then. That's submission that something that Elon Musk
- 12:01Speaker 5: has said is a big motivation, clearly. So that's that
- 12:04Speaker 5: common cause that we talked about.
- 12:05Speaker 2: No, I think it's terrific, it's going to be interesting.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Plus it's such a it's a huge industry, the space industry.
- 12:11Speaker 2: So I'll look forward to see what happens there.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Now.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Vivek Bramaswami has pulled the pin as co leader of
- 12:16Speaker 2: the Department of Government Efficiency, apparently due to his interest
- 12:19Speaker 2: in running for governor of Ohio. Kosher I was quite
- 12:21Speaker 2: surprised by this.
- 12:22Speaker 4: It didn't take very long.
- 12:23Speaker 2: It was picked by Donald Trump, but now he's left.
- 12:26Speaker 5: It always probably was a conceptual thing having two leaders
- 12:30Speaker 5: co CEOs, two billionaires with Elon Musk with Elon Musk
- 12:34Speaker 5: and correct and the veak. Nice idea, but I always
- 12:38Speaker 5: thought maybe, I'm not sure, too many cooks in the kitchen,
- 12:41Speaker 5: one could argue, But I think the more important reason
- 12:43Speaker 5: is the governorship. So he's from Ohio. The governor there,
- 12:47Speaker 5: Mark Devine, is term limited in twenty twenty six. That's
- 12:50Speaker 5: going to be an open sea. The Vak kind of
- 12:52Speaker 5: came out of nowhere and just in fifteen minutes, really
- 12:55Speaker 5: went from a nobody to a household name now in America,
- 12:58Speaker 5: So strike while the iron's hot, and if he does win,
- 13:01Speaker 5: then that's a good thing because he is generally speaking
- 13:03Speaker 5: America first, and an alley of Trump and we need
- 13:06Speaker 5: more governors Trump and needs more governors that support his agenda.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Yeah, no, absolutely, absolutely didn't last very long at all.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Now we have to talk about Baronet Trump, the son
- 13:16Speaker 2: of course of Millennia and Donald Trump, who has once
- 13:18Speaker 2: again stolen the show at the inauguration. The internet is
- 13:22Speaker 2: a buzz talking about how tall and stature this man
- 13:25Speaker 2: is and say that he is a president in waiting.
- 13:28Speaker 2: I tend to agree, Kosher. We know that he played
- 13:31Speaker 2: quite a pivotal part in his father's election campaign. He
- 13:34Speaker 2: was the one who encouraged him to go on podcasts
- 13:36Speaker 2: like Joe Rogan, which really helped him get over the line.
- 13:39Speaker 4: But you just look at him. He's so staunch, he's
- 13:41Speaker 4: a strong man.
- 13:43Speaker 2: And I think he's going to be a future leader.
- 13:45Speaker 4: What do you think.
- 13:46Speaker 5: He's got a lot of the ry ingredients. So people
- 13:48Speaker 5: love the Trump kids and the Trump family. They're also
- 13:51Speaker 5: well together, they're very attractive, they're smart, they're accomplished.
- 13:54Speaker 4: All of that.
- 13:55Speaker 5: And he was just a little ten year old boy
- 13:57Speaker 5: the last time around, and they've sort of been keeping
- 14:00Speaker 5: him out of the limelight, very private people in Milannia famously,
- 14:03Speaker 5: and now he's back thrust onto the scene. So tall
- 14:06Speaker 5: and that he's six foot seven. Yeah, he's completely grown
- 14:09Speaker 5: up in front of our eyes. And as you mentioned,
- 14:11Speaker 5: he pleaded a pivotal rule in his media strategy. He
- 14:14Speaker 5: seems to love the crowd and the energy, but like
- 14:16Speaker 5: his mother, he doesn't see much. He's a little bit
- 14:18Speaker 5: of an enigma, and I think that will strive him
- 14:21Speaker 5: well where he's creating a lot of interest and he
- 14:23Speaker 5: may burst out onto the scene at some point in
- 14:25Speaker 5: the future.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I completely agree all eyes on Baron. I just think
- 14:28Speaker 2: he's an absolute start. Now, speaking of his mother, we've
- 14:30Speaker 2: got to talk about the fashion because Milania looked very
- 14:33Speaker 2: sharp today, but her hat got in the way of
- 14:36Speaker 2: an important photo opportunity. Have a look. Well, you can't help,
- 14:45Speaker 2: you know. Trump gave it a go. But meanwhile, Jeffrey
- 14:47Speaker 2: Bezos's fiance's outfit was a little laingerie number. It's raised
- 14:51Speaker 2: some eyebrows, and I've got to say it looked like
- 14:53Speaker 2: it raised Mark Zuckerberg's eyebrows too.
- 14:56Speaker 4: We've got some vision there.
- 14:58Speaker 2: He couldn't keep his eyes off her as well. But look,
- 15:01Speaker 2: I thought, look, firstly, Milania, I thought looked lovely.
- 15:04Speaker 4: I'm not sure about this outfit. What do you think? Agree?
- 15:07Speaker 5: I call him Milania's outfit high fashion war path, because
- 15:11Speaker 5: there's a message to send here. It's like, you know,
- 15:14Speaker 5: this is my space. It's like an armor. Don't mess
- 15:17Speaker 5: with me. And the fashion industry very openly snubbed her
- 15:20Speaker 5: the first time around, you objectively as was gorgeous first lady,
- 15:23Speaker 5: and they said they wouldn't dress her and never put
- 15:25Speaker 5: her on the cover of magazines, as she'd already been
- 15:26Speaker 5: on them previously, et cetera exactly. And Jeff Bezis' fiance,
- 15:31Speaker 5: I think she should have.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Chosen something questionable. It's questionable kosher, it certainly is.
- 15:36Speaker 7: Well.
- 15:36Speaker 2: It's been wonderful to speak with you. Thanks for joining
- 15:38Speaker 2: me to unpack what's been a historic day in the US.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Appreciate your time.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Coachher Gata, thank you joining me now. Is Newsweek Senior
- 15:44Speaker 2: editor at Large and Article three Project Senior Counsel, Josh Hammer, Josh,
- 15:49Speaker 2: thank you so much for joining me. Look, I've got
- 15:51Speaker 2: to say it's finally happened.
- 15:54Speaker 4: The world is healing. Order is restored already.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Donald Trump will issue an order ending federal diversity, equity
- 16:02Speaker 2: and inclusion programs. Hallelujah, finally now this order will instruct
- 16:07Speaker 2: senior officials in the White House Office of Management and
- 16:10Speaker 2: Budget and the Office of Personnel Management to determine what
- 16:13Speaker 2: programs need to be gutted. Josh, it's finally going to
- 16:17Speaker 2: be merit all the way, not based on race, not
- 16:19Speaker 2: based on gender, but on merit. Has the post woke
- 16:23Speaker 2: world begun? Do you think.
- 16:26Speaker 1: It's definitely beginning? You know, this actually goes back to
- 16:29Speaker 1: the final year of the first Trump administration. So in
- 16:31Speaker 1: the very final months the first trumpministration, my friend Chris
- 16:33Speaker 1: Ruffer was working really hard to get DEI banned in
- 16:36Speaker 1: the federal government. And now here we are right out
- 16:38Speaker 1: of the gate, and we're doing it literally on D one.
- 16:41Speaker 1: And it's not just DEI that's being banned in the
- 16:44Speaker 1: federal government. It's also gender ideology. It's also the transgender
- 16:47Speaker 1: Agenda that was a separate executive order that that was
- 16:50Speaker 1: implemented earlier. Today as well, the federal government of the
- 16:52Speaker 1: United States now stands by the policy that there are
- 16:54Speaker 1: two and precisely two genders. There is male and there
- 16:57Speaker 1: is female, and that is it. So we are really
- 17:00Speaker 1: seeing the prudential use of government power to fight back
- 17:04Speaker 1: against the woll agenda. There and It's a beautiful sight
- 17:07Speaker 1: to behold there. I mean, it's hard to keep up, frankly,
- 17:10Speaker 1: with all the executive orders that are coming through there,
- 17:13Speaker 1: whether it's immigration, whether it's energy, whether it's Trump withdrawing
- 17:16Speaker 1: from the WHO, the World Health Organization there, putting American
- 17:19Speaker 1: forces on the southern and potentially in the northern Warwick, Canada.
- 17:22Speaker 1: But the point is that this is morning in America. Again,
- 17:26Speaker 1: as Ronald Reagan would have said, there, it is a
- 17:28Speaker 1: joyous day. I was grinning ear to ear watching this inauguration,
- 17:31Speaker 1: watching him sign these executive orders. The thing about Donald
- 17:34Speaker 1: Trump also, I have to say there, he's just such
- 17:36Speaker 1: a funny, entertaining person there. I've been watching him on
- 17:39Speaker 1: television here basically all day, grinning ear to ear. I
- 17:42Speaker 1: miss this free daily Trump entertainment as well. I have
- 17:44Speaker 1: to say that as well.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Oh look and more to calm. I completely agree. And
- 17:48Speaker 2: I just want to pick you up on what you
- 17:50Speaker 2: mentioned there that Donald Trump has declared that the US
- 17:52Speaker 2: will only recognize two genders, male and female.
- 17:56Speaker 4: This is what he said.
- 17:57Speaker 8: As of today.
- 18:00Speaker 6: It will henceforth be the official policy of the United
- 18:03Speaker 6: States government that there are only two genders, male and female.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Josh, This would have been virtually unthinkable years ago. People said, no,
- 18:15Speaker 2: you can't say that because it's offensive.
- 18:17Speaker 4: You're a bigot. You can't do that. Can't say that.
- 18:20Speaker 2: What does it say about where we are now in
- 18:22Speaker 2: the world.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Donald Trump understands something very important that a lot of
- 18:29Speaker 1: other Republican politicians here in the US do not understand.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Let me explain what that is. So there's been a
- 18:35Speaker 1: debate on the American right for a very long time
- 18:37Speaker 1: as to the relationship between culture and politics. So, for instance,
- 18:41Speaker 1: the late great Andrew Breitbart, the founder of the website Brightbar,
- 18:44Speaker 1: famously said that that culture is upstream of politics, basically
- 18:48Speaker 1: that if you want to control politics, it's downstream of culture.
- 18:50Speaker 1: You have to control the culture first. I have always
- 18:53Speaker 1: thought that that's a little too qte by half, because
- 18:56Speaker 1: culture and politics operating in a two way street, where
- 18:58Speaker 1: the culture can fit the politic politics can also affect
- 19:01Speaker 1: the culture. I think Donald Trump understands that, he intuits
- 19:04Speaker 1: that he understands that, he understands that when it comes
- 19:06Speaker 1: to civilizational issues, questions of the human person, of human anthropology,
- 19:12Speaker 1: such as male and female, God created them, you have
- 19:15Speaker 1: to choose you actually cannot take the so called neutral
- 19:19Speaker 1: way out. You actually have to make a decision and
- 19:21Speaker 1: put a thumb on the scale. Here. This is an
- 19:23Speaker 1: example of making that decision, of having the courage to
- 19:27Speaker 1: actually do that and to lead by political example, and
- 19:29Speaker 1: the culture ultimately God willing to hear America will follow
- 19:32Speaker 1: as well. There. So you know, he's a little older.
- 19:35Speaker 1: He's won the older American president, not as old as
- 19:37Speaker 1: the previous guy. But he nonetheless, I think in terms
- 19:40Speaker 1: of his understanding between culture and politics is actually very
- 19:43Speaker 1: new and edgy in a way that a lot of
- 19:45Speaker 1: the Republican old guards still resists to this day. That's
- 19:48Speaker 1: their loss in his gain them absolutely.
- 19:50Speaker 2: I think that's a really interesting observation you spot on. Now, look,
- 19:53Speaker 2: let's talk about transparency. Trump is vowed to release long
- 19:57Speaker 2: classified government records on the assassination of John F. Kennedy,
- 20:01Speaker 2: Martin Luther King Junior, and Robert F. Kennedy. This is
- 20:04Speaker 2: what he said, we are.
- 20:05Speaker 7: Going to make public remaining records relating to the assassinations
- 20:09Speaker 7: of President John F. Kennedy, his brother.
- 20:13Speaker 6: Robert Kennedy, as well as doctor Martin.
- 20:16Speaker 4: Luther King Junior. Josh.
- 20:18Speaker 2: So he's vowing to restore government transparency. Why is this
- 20:22Speaker 2: so important in this administration.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Well, it's important because Americans trust in government right now
- 20:28Speaker 1: is at an all time historic low. I mean, Americans
- 20:30Speaker 1: have not distrusted the government this much, probably in the
- 20:34Speaker 1: entire history of modern American public polling. I mean, I
- 20:37Speaker 1: couldn't even tell you when the last one I think
- 20:39Speaker 1: will be even close to this, maybe the Jimmy Carter
- 20:41Speaker 1: years of stagflation in the Iran hostage crisis. Probably even
- 20:44Speaker 1: including that though. So, if you want to try to
- 20:46Speaker 1: get the American people back on your side, well, the
- 20:49Speaker 1: easiest way to do that is with good policy. You
- 20:50Speaker 1: need to get the economy humming again, to seal the
- 20:52Speaker 1: southern border with Mexico there, to get peace on the
- 20:55Speaker 1: global stage in the Middle East, Russia, Ukraine so forth.
- 20:57Speaker 6: There.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Another fairly easy way is to show that you stand
- 21:01Speaker 1: with the peoples. So when the American people have long
- 21:04Speaker 1: standing questions that they're not getting clear answers from from
- 21:07Speaker 1: the government, give them the answers again unless there is
- 21:10Speaker 1: a truly, truly, truly compelling national security reason there. But frankly,
- 21:14Speaker 1: when it comes to something like the JFK assassination. It's
- 21:16Speaker 1: been sixty years. I mean, whatever national security implications there
- 21:19Speaker 1: might have been at the height of the Cuban missile
- 21:21Speaker 1: crisis with the Soviet Union, you know, that's literally decades
- 21:25Speaker 1: in the past at this point there, So why not,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I say, why not? Heck, I say, at this point,
- 21:30Speaker 1: I want to know whether there are aliens at Area
- 21:31Speaker 1: fifty one out in Nevada outside of Las Vegas. I
- 21:35Speaker 1: suspect probably not. But while we're going down this rabbit hole,
- 21:37Speaker 1: why not keep it coming. There's a lot of questions
- 21:39Speaker 1: out there. I suspent Donald Trump's going to give us
- 21:41Speaker 1: a lot of fun answers.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Oh, look, what do we want to know the answers
- 21:44Speaker 2: to that, I completely agree. You're going down the rabbit hole.
- 21:46Speaker 2: So I think just just keep going, keep going, strike
- 21:49Speaker 2: while the eye and is hot. Now, I thought this
- 21:51Speaker 2: was particularly interesting, though unsurprising. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris
- 21:56Speaker 2: were booed entering the capital for the inauguration.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Have a look at this president in the.
- 22:01Speaker 1: United States, Joseph.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Of the United States, Well, Josh, look, they're all MAGA
- 22:12Speaker 2: supporters there. They were never going to give them a
- 22:14Speaker 2: rousing reception. But it brings into question because Biden leaves
- 22:18Speaker 2: office with historically low approval ratings, Kamala is still dancing
- 22:22Speaker 2: about like a moron with interchanging accents.
- 22:25Speaker 4: It seems like America.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Really has had enough of those two.
- 22:30Speaker 1: You know, I think it's difficult to put into words
- 22:33Speaker 1: just the utter shambles that the Democratic Party is currently
- 22:36Speaker 1: in here. First of all, they all hate each other,
- 22:39Speaker 1: Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Bill and
- 22:42Speaker 1: Hillary Clinton, the titans of the current Democratic Party throwing
- 22:46Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer. I guess as well there they actually genuinely
- 22:49Speaker 1: cannot stand each other. A lot of this gets back
- 22:52Speaker 1: to the major divide this past summer as to whether
- 22:54Speaker 1: or not to kick Joe Biden off the ticket and
- 22:56Speaker 1: put in Kamala Harris. A lot of these simmering divides
- 22:59Speaker 1: to this day have not fully heals from that, but
- 23:01Speaker 1: more to the points their agenda, especially the post two
- 23:04Speaker 1: thousand and eight, post Barack Obama, post woke, intersectional identity
- 23:08Speaker 1: politics coalition of the aggrieved interest coalition. It's all been
- 23:13Speaker 1: emphatically rejected one because it's totally divisive. There, Barack Obama
- 23:17Speaker 1: and Joe Biden claimed to be uniers. All they did
- 23:20Speaker 1: actually was pit one Americans against the other, whether it
- 23:22Speaker 1: was white versus black, whether it was the vaccinated against
- 23:25Speaker 1: the unvaccinated, Team red versus Team Blue, you name it.
- 23:28Speaker 1: There they have been massive, massive dividers. And more's the point.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Their policy has just been utterly catastrophic. Whether it is inflation,
- 23:34Speaker 1: whether it is the economy, whether it is crime in
- 23:37Speaker 1: America's urban corridors, people getting pushed, god forbid on the
- 23:40Speaker 1: subway cars in New York City, stories like the Daniel
- 23:43Speaker 1: Penny story there the women lit on fire. Foreign policy,
- 23:46Speaker 1: I mean the Middle East, Russia, Ukraine, China looking like
- 23:50Speaker 1: the gun invade Taiwan every day is basically a hot
- 23:52Speaker 1: spot all across the world. There they have failed, and
- 23:55Speaker 1: they have failed catastrophically. And the best part is, as
- 23:58Speaker 1: someone's personally who wishes the Democrats nothing but horm the
- 24:01Speaker 1: best part is I have no idea where they go
- 24:03Speaker 1: from here. I genuinely am glad that that is not
- 24:06Speaker 1: my problem because I actually do not know what the
- 24:08Speaker 1: answer is. But I suspect that they're going to be
- 24:10Speaker 1: in the political wilderness for some time now because there's
- 24:13Speaker 1: no clear and easy answer as to how they possibly
- 24:15Speaker 1: get themselves back to a place of respectability without somehow
- 24:20Speaker 1: sacrificing their far left beast as well. I don't know
- 24:22Speaker 1: how you walk that tape rope. I'm not sure that
- 24:24Speaker 1: they know how to do it either.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Well, I mean that they did it to themselves, didn't they.
- 24:27Speaker 2: But this is all that their own doing. They're in
- 24:29Speaker 2: this mess because that they were too slow to change
- 24:32Speaker 2: the candidates. So look, we'll see what happens over the
- 24:35Speaker 2: next few years.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Now.
- 24:36Speaker 2: In his last Actors, President, Joe Biden issued sweeping preemptive
- 24:40Speaker 2: pardons for his entire family, as well as former COVID
- 24:43Speaker 2: advisor doctor Anthony Fauci, retired General Mark Milly, and members
- 24:47Speaker 2: of the January sixth Committee to quote shield them from
- 24:51Speaker 2: politically motivated prosecutions under the Trump administration. Josh, I don't know.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I think this was unsurprising. He was always going do it.
- 25:00Speaker 2: But what do you make of this at the eleventh
- 25:02Speaker 2: hour to go and issue these pardons.
- 25:06Speaker 1: It's just truly shameful stuff. You know, Joe Biden told
- 25:08Speaker 1: us time and time again that the reason that you
- 25:10Speaker 1: had to vote for Joe Biden, and then after the
- 25:12Speaker 1: Democrats pulled their bloodless coup that you had to vote
- 25:15Speaker 1: for Kamala Harris. He said, time and time again, you
- 25:17Speaker 1: gotta vote for Team Blue. You gotta vote for the
- 25:19Speaker 1: Democrats because the other guy, Donald Trump, he's a Hitler
- 25:23Speaker 1: fascist nazi there, who's going to blow up the constitution.
- 25:26Speaker 1: He hates norms. How many times over the past four
- 25:29Speaker 1: years and we've been lectured time and time again about
- 25:32Speaker 1: about how the January sixth guy is a great perpetrator
- 25:36Speaker 1: when it comes to desecrating American norms there, and then
- 25:39Speaker 1: you fast forward to the past few months here, especially
- 25:42Speaker 1: since the election in November. How many norms is Joe
- 25:45Speaker 1: Biden going to blow up in flames on his way
- 25:48Speaker 1: out the door here? I mean, it's basically like he's
- 25:50Speaker 1: taken the match. He's taken entire, entire reservoir of gasoline
- 25:54Speaker 1: and just poured an entire box of matches on fire
- 25:57Speaker 1: into this gasoline on the way out there. On Friday,
- 26:00Speaker 1: he tweeted that he was recognizing a new constitutional amendment.
- 26:04Speaker 1: The National Archives here was like, dude, you can't do that.
- 26:07Speaker 1: That's not how the constitutional process works. These pardons at
- 26:10Speaker 1: the last hour parentally partnering the Biden family, his brother
- 26:13Speaker 1: Jim Biden, five or six family members there fifteen minutes,
- 26:17Speaker 1: fifteen minutes before Donald Trump was to put his hand
- 26:21Speaker 1: on the Bible and take of office. I can't believe this.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I mean like, it makes America look so patently silly,
- 26:28Speaker 1: so patently tribal, and frankly, so patently third world. I
- 26:32Speaker 1: cannot wait for this guy to get out of office,
- 26:35Speaker 1: to get the heck off my television screen. Frankly, I
- 26:37Speaker 1: think it's going to be a very long time until
- 26:39Speaker 1: we hear from him again. It actually went shock me. Frankly,
- 26:42Speaker 1: if we don't hear from him again until his funeral.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Look, I think we've all been thinking the sign let's
- 26:48Speaker 2: be realistic, and I agree it was completely dodging, totally
- 26:51Speaker 2: dodgy of him fifteen minutes before that inauguration.
- 26:53Speaker 4: Now, look, let's move on.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Because the family of Dorin Steinbercher, one of the three
- 26:58Speaker 2: Israeley hostages frayed from Humus this week, has thanked Donald
- 27:01Speaker 2: Trump for her release, saying, we also extend our gratitude
- 27:05Speaker 2: to Trump for his significant involvement and support, which means
- 27:08Speaker 2: so much to us. Here was Donald Trump talking about
- 27:11Speaker 2: the situation in the Middle East.
- 27:13Speaker 6: My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier.
- 27:18Speaker 6: That's what I want to be, a peacemaker and a unifier.
- 27:22Speaker 6: I'm pleased to say that as of yesterday, one day
- 27:25Speaker 6: before I assumed the office, the hostages in the Middle
- 27:30Speaker 6: East are coming back home to their families.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Josh, how much of this deal and what's going on
- 27:36Speaker 2: right now in the Middle East can be put down
- 27:37Speaker 2: to Donald Trump's influence and his very strong words leading
- 27:41Speaker 2: up to the inauguration.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Well, I think that the recent ceasefire hostage deal is
- 27:46Speaker 1: overwhelmingly due to Donald Trump and his Middle East Special
- 27:50Speaker 1: ENVOYE Seek Steve Whitcoff. I mean, you look at the
- 27:52Speaker 1: fact that Joe Biden, Tony blankn and Bret McGirk and
- 27:56Speaker 1: that whole national security team, if you can even call
- 27:58Speaker 1: it that, they tried for a very long time, literally
- 28:00Speaker 1: over a year, to get a second deal since the
- 28:02Speaker 1: initial one in November twenty twenty three, they couldn't do it.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Trump and Whitcoff got involved. In a matter of days
- 28:07Speaker 1: it was done. So I think they're overwhelmingly responsible for
- 28:12Speaker 1: this particular deal. I guess though, if I'm being honest,
- 28:15Speaker 1: I would sound the note of caution. I'm not frankly
- 28:17Speaker 1: in love with this deal. To be very honest with you,
- 28:19Speaker 1: it's amazing that these hostages are released. Obviously, if I
- 28:21Speaker 1: were one of the family members, I would want to
- 28:23Speaker 1: do everything possible that goes without saying there. I worry
- 28:26Speaker 1: though about the incentives that this sense. When you are
- 28:29Speaker 1: trading hundreds, hundreds, thousands, frankly of the most hardened jihad
- 28:34Speaker 1: Is terrorists out there for just a few dozen hostages there,
- 28:38Speaker 1: what incentives does that send about trying to reward terrorism,
- 28:40Speaker 1: trying to incentivize further hostage shaking there. Ultimately, it's gonna
- 28:44Speaker 1: be a push come to shove situation. Is prime mister
- 28:46Speaker 1: net Niya, who's going to have the political capital and
- 28:49Speaker 1: the political will to send the IDF back into Godz
- 28:51Speaker 1: That finished the job there? Because I want to be
- 28:54Speaker 1: very clear about this, Unless and until Hamas is decapitated
- 28:57Speaker 1: and fully destroyed as a military and political organization, got
- 29:00Speaker 1: unlessen until that happens, Israel will have lost this war.
- 29:03Speaker 1: That's a very very very important thing to remember. I
- 29:05Speaker 1: believe Donald Trump understands that there. But we'll find out
- 29:08Speaker 1: sooner rather than later.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yeah, we certainly will. We'll see how this one plays out.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Josh hammup, good to catch up. Thanks very much for
- 29:14Speaker 2: joining me on the show this evening.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Still to come an extended edition of Lefties Losing It.
- 29:29Speaker 4: Now, it's time for Lefties.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Losing It coming up per Joe Biden Extravaganza.
- 29:35Speaker 4: You won't want to miss this one. We've conned deep into.
- 29:39Speaker 2: The archives to dig up the best of old gaffy
- 29:42Speaker 2: Joe as he finally finishes up as president. But first
- 29:47Speaker 2: q the inauguration lefty meltdowns because Donald Trump is back baby. Yes,
- 30:15Speaker 2: some of those were even from the first inauguration, but
- 30:18Speaker 2: this time round, it's music to my ears. The screams
- 30:22Speaker 2: really warm my heart because we love to say it,
- 30:24Speaker 2: don't we. It's over for the woke lefties who are
- 30:28Speaker 2: just so desperately trying to stay relevant in this new
- 30:31Speaker 2: era of optimism.
- 30:33Speaker 4: You're the Karens. Please.
- 30:35Speaker 2: I would rather wear underwear full of angry bees than
- 30:39Speaker 2: watch the inauguration on Monday. Okay then, and of course,
- 30:43Speaker 2: when all else fails, make a public service announcement.
- 30:47Speaker 9: I don't know about you, but I will not be
- 30:49Speaker 9: watching the inauguration, not during the inauguration, not after the inauguration,
- 30:55Speaker 9: not any part of it on the news. Who's with me?
- 31:01Speaker 2: Oh my god, please please stop everything.
- 31:03Speaker 4: If Karen wasn't watching, is it going to watch?
- 31:06Speaker 2: Trump should have definitely canceled that inauguration. That's a huge
- 31:10Speaker 2: blow for number forty seven. He will be absolutely devastated.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I mean, what will these lefties do for the next
- 31:18Speaker 2: four years? A lying, felon and adjudicated rapist is going
- 31:22Speaker 2: to be taking an oath on the Bible, and you
- 31:25Speaker 2: wonder why the world is laughing at us? And look,
- 31:28Speaker 2: please spare a thought for Alexandria Ocazio Cortez, who is
- 31:32Speaker 2: just not okay all.
- 31:35Speaker 9: These journalists really. Congresswomen, are you going to the inauguration? Congresswoman,
- 31:38Speaker 9: are you going to the inauguration? Are you going to
- 31:40Speaker 9: the inauguration? Let me make myself clear. I don't celebrate rapists,
- 31:48Speaker 9: So no, I'm not going to the inauguration.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Round Oh so so sad again, what will Donald Trump
- 31:55Speaker 2: do without you?
- 31:57Speaker 4: Now to Don Lemon, the.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Sacked Sea host who is continuing on a slippery slope
- 32:03Speaker 2: into the never never, I mean, the poor guy is
- 32:06Speaker 2: absolutely grasping at every straw possible.
- 32:10Speaker 10: Here's the breaking news for you. Remember people were upset
- 32:13Speaker 10: that Joe Biden pardon his son Hunter Biden. Will Joe Biden?
- 32:17Speaker 10: President Biden pardons his family on last day in office.
- 32:22Speaker 10: Why is he doing that? Is it unprecedented? Yeah, it
- 32:25Speaker 10: is unusual, But it's also because of the unprecedented unusual
- 32:29Speaker 10: administration that we have coming in and he cannot trust
- 32:32Speaker 10: his family in the hands of Donald Trump's Justice Department.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Ah, yes, don Now is this the same preemptive pardons
- 32:40Speaker 2: that the Democrats warned Trump against for years?
- 32:43Speaker 11: Have you ever heard of somebody getting a preemptive pardon
- 32:46Speaker 11: who was innocent of all crime, who's just an innocent person?
- 32:50Speaker 4: Have you ever heard of that?
- 32:51Speaker 12: Just somebody getting a blanket pardon and they're an innocent person.
- 32:55Speaker 12: But no, it's the president's own family.
- 32:58Speaker 8: It's people have been covering up for the president in
- 33:02Speaker 8: addition to his own family.
- 33:03Speaker 11: If he pardons people preemptively, he's essentially telling the public
- 33:08Speaker 11: that these people have committed crimes and we may not
- 33:11Speaker 11: be aware of what they are, but the pardon is
- 33:14Speaker 11: clear evidence that crimes have been committed.
- 33:16Speaker 12: The idea of a kind of prospective pardon, this sort
- 33:19Speaker 12: of permanent federal get out of jail free card. That
- 33:23Speaker 12: seems to be what we're talking about in the case
- 33:25Speaker 12: of this right with Juliani and his three eldest children,
- 33:27Speaker 12: who as far we know don't have not been convicted
- 33:30Speaker 12: of a crime. Maybe they've committed a lot and they
- 33:34Speaker 12: don't want to face action. I don't know, it's weird.
- 33:36Speaker 12: I wouldn't ask for a pardon. I don't think I
- 33:39Speaker 12: deserve one because I don't think I've done anything criminal.
- 33:42Speaker 2: But like, where does that come from?
- 33:43Speaker 12: That concept you can just kind of wave your magic
- 33:46Speaker 12: pardon one?
- 33:47Speaker 2: Ah, I never learned, and has anyone saying, don lemon,
- 33:51Speaker 2: Donny your faults.
- 33:52Speaker 4: On that place?
- 33:54Speaker 10: Anyone Ask anyone who knows me, They'll tell you. I
- 33:57Speaker 10: don't believe in belittling people.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Link anyone.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Yes, that's exactly what I thought, Donnie. Now to the
- 34:05Speaker 2: moment you've all been waiting for, the Joe Biden Gaffriel, and.
- 34:09Speaker 4: What a spectacle we have for you.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Here is the now former leader of the free world,
- 34:14Speaker 2: who we were told was healthy, thriving, sharp as attack
- 34:18Speaker 2: and rigorous, when really he was a potato.
- 34:21Speaker 4: This whole time being.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Propped up by stage Mum Jill Biden, please cue the tape.
- 34:37Speaker 3: The total initiative relative to what we're going to do
- 34:39Speaker 3: with more border patrol and more CYBUN officers.
- 34:43Speaker 6: President Trump, I really don't know what he said at
- 34:46Speaker 6: the end of this center. I don't think he knows
- 34:48Speaker 6: what he said either.
- 34:55Speaker 3: America is a nation that can be defined in a
- 34:58Speaker 3: single word. I doesn't foot him the foot. I wouldn't
- 35:14Speaker 3: have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president? Do
- 35:17Speaker 3: I think she was not qualified to be president? And
- 35:31Speaker 3: now I want to hand it over to the President
- 35:33Speaker 3: of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen, President putin, imagine what we.
- 35:47Speaker 4: Could do next.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Or more years or.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Me?
- 36:12Speaker 4: No one's seen them, no pall sense.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Then look, it brings a tear to my eyes, doesn't
- 36:32Speaker 2: it It really it's it's a somber moment.
- 36:34Speaker 4: It's a it's a real sad moment. I mean, what
- 36:36Speaker 4: are we going to do without him?
- 36:37Speaker 1: Bye?
- 36:38Speaker 2: Bye, Joe still to come? Professor Max Abrams joins me
- 36:55Speaker 2: to explain what Trump's second presidency means for international security.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Joining me now is international security expert Professor Max Abrams, Max,
- 37:13Speaker 2: nice to see you. Thank you very much for joining me.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Let's start with this story that's on the front page
- 37:19Speaker 2: over in the US. Donald Trump, on day one, plans
- 37:22Speaker 2: to suspend security clearances of fifty one intelligence officials who
- 37:26Speaker 2: dismissed Hunter Biden's laptop as Russian disinformation in twenty twenty.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Now this involves a so called spies who lies. You
- 37:35Speaker 2: can see there, Max, What message does Trump's repeal send.
- 37:42Speaker 8: I think the message is very clear, and that is,
- 37:46Speaker 8: you know, the establishment is done. The twenty twenty election
- 37:51Speaker 8: arguably was helped substantially by these fifty one shady Intel
- 37:59Speaker 8: official because at that time their Hunter's laptop showed that
- 38:06Speaker 8: the Bidens were extremely corrupt and at the behest of
- 38:12Speaker 8: the Biden campaign. Right the Biden campaign actually asked for this.
- 38:18Speaker 8: These fifty one Intel agents attested that, you know, essentially
- 38:24Speaker 8: we could dismiss the laptop, that it probably wasn't Hunters,
- 38:28Speaker 8: that it had the earmarks of Russian disinformation. And shortly
- 38:33Speaker 8: after I'm talking within a couple of weeks, there was
- 38:37Speaker 8: a major presidential debate between Trump and Biden, and when
- 38:42Speaker 8: the topic of the laptop came up, Biden was able
- 38:46Speaker 8: to dismiss it by pointing to this letter by the
- 38:49Speaker 8: fifty one agents saying that you know the laptop was Russian.
- 38:54Speaker 8: And so I think that Trump may blame these fifty
- 38:58Speaker 8: one Intel agents. It's for Biden's victory at the least.
- 39:03Speaker 8: What it shows is that the Intel agents are corrupt,
- 39:08Speaker 8: that they're partisan, and they're perfectly willing to engage in
- 39:12Speaker 8: election interference. So I'm happy for Trump to revoke their
- 39:18Speaker 8: security clearances. They shouldn't be able to tack his presidency
- 39:24Speaker 8: like we saw previously. These are clearly partisan hacks who
- 39:29Speaker 8: certainly place no value on the truth.
- 39:33Speaker 2: No which is a threat to America. I mean, these
- 39:36Speaker 2: people are supposed to be in such high positions. So
- 39:39Speaker 2: I think it's such a smart move by Donald Trump,
- 39:42Speaker 2: straight off the back.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Now.
- 39:43Speaker 2: The President will also launch a new anti drug advertising
- 39:47Speaker 2: campaign to show the physical impact of taking drugs like fentanyl.
- 39:51Speaker 4: Have a look at this.
- 39:52Speaker 6: We're going to advertise how bad drugs are for you, how.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Bad they are.
- 39:57Speaker 7: They ruin your look, they're ruin your faith, They're ruined
- 40:00Speaker 7: your skin, and ruin your teeth. If you want to
- 40:04Speaker 7: have horrible teeth, take a lot of fent at all,
- 40:07Speaker 7: do you want to have skin that looks so terrible?
- 40:09Speaker 5: Take fent at all. We're going to do.
- 40:12Speaker 6: We're going to show what these drugs are doing to you.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Yeah, straight down the line. Not mincing his words there,
- 40:17Speaker 2: but Donald Trump has also revived a campaign vowing to
- 40:21Speaker 2: designate Mexico's drug cartels as terrorist groups.
- 40:25Speaker 6: Under the orders I signed today, we will also be
- 40:29Speaker 6: designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. I will direct
- 40:35Speaker 6: our government to use the full and immense power of
- 40:38Speaker 6: federal and state law enforcement to eliminate the presence of
- 40:41Speaker 6: all foreign gangs and criminal networks bringing devastating crime to US.
- 40:48Speaker 4: Soil Max.
- 40:49Speaker 2: What will this mean to classify Mexican cartels as terrorist groups?
- 40:54Speaker 2: And will it help fight the scourge of drugs from
- 40:57Speaker 2: over the border.
- 41:00Speaker 8: What I think Trump is trying to signal here is
- 41:03Speaker 8: that border security is national security, and that was really
- 41:10Speaker 8: one of his big advantages over the Biden administration, which
- 41:15Speaker 8: saw an unprecedented number of illegal immigrants. I mean, we're
- 41:20Speaker 8: talking large numbers, you know, maybe twelve million, thirteen million,
- 41:25Speaker 8: fourteen million, We're not even entirely sure, but the number
- 41:30Speaker 8: is big, and naturally, some of them came into the
- 41:34Speaker 8: United States and produced heinous crimes. And so Trump, you know,
- 41:39Speaker 8: who was mocked previously for saying that securing the border
- 41:44Speaker 8: was important, is now fully committed to that agenda. And
- 41:49Speaker 8: part of that is cracking down on the fentanyl. That's
- 41:53Speaker 8: the main drug that is supplied by the Mexican cartels.
- 41:58Speaker 8: And what he is trying to do is elevate the
- 42:01Speaker 8: cartels to a terrorism problem by designating them as a
- 42:06Speaker 8: foreign terrorist organization. And there are all sorts of ways
- 42:11Speaker 8: that Trump might really crack down on these cartels. Some
- 42:15Speaker 8: of it would be through the treasury, some of it
- 42:19Speaker 8: would be deploying troops. We could be talking about kinetic
- 42:23Speaker 8: operations inside of Mexico. I've heard that floated as well.
- 42:28Speaker 8: I'm not entirely sure what Trump will do with these cartels.
- 42:32Speaker 8: I don't think anybody knows at this point. But by
- 42:36Speaker 8: saying this, he's elevating the cartels to a traditional national
- 42:42Speaker 8: security problem in the form of a foreign terrorist organization
- 42:46Speaker 8: like Al Qaeda, like Islamic State.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Well, I mean, look, I think it's a good move,
- 42:52Speaker 2: no doubt it's a crisis. And he's also very very
- 42:55Speaker 2: quickly standing firm. What it does come to that border
- 42:57Speaker 2: crisis because he said that he declare illegal immigration at
- 43:01Speaker 2: the US Mexico border a national emergency, send troops there,
- 43:05Speaker 2: and ramp up deportations of criminal offenders. This is what
- 43:08Speaker 2: he said.
- 43:09Speaker 6: First, I will declare a national emergency at our southern border.
- 43:15Speaker 6: All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will
- 43:19Speaker 6: begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal
- 43:24Speaker 6: aliens back to the places from which they came.
- 43:28Speaker 4: Max.
- 43:28Speaker 2: It's interesting Donald Trump said he will invoke US seventeen
- 43:31Speaker 2: ninety eight wartime law known as the Alien Enemies Act
- 43:35Speaker 2: to target foreign gang members in the US.
- 43:38Speaker 4: What will this do?
- 43:39Speaker 2: What sort of an impact do you think this is
- 43:41Speaker 2: going to have.
- 43:44Speaker 8: I think that there are a number of steps in
- 43:49Speaker 8: this process. One step is that there will not be
- 43:54Speaker 8: new illegal immigrants coming into the United States. On top
- 44:00Speaker 8: of that, the more difficult problem is what to do
- 44:05Speaker 8: with the illegals currently in the United States. And the
- 44:09Speaker 8: even more difficult problem is what to do in cases
- 44:14Speaker 8: when illegal immigrants inside the United States have had children.
- 44:19Speaker 8: And it's honestly not entirely clear what Trump is going
- 44:24Speaker 8: to do with the extant illegal immigrants in the United States.
- 44:30Speaker 8: We know that there will be deportations, even mass deportations.
- 44:36Speaker 8: Those might start with illegals who, on top of that
- 44:40Speaker 8: criminal behavior, have conducted other crimes. So we're not entirely
- 44:47Speaker 8: sure which illegals, whether it's all illegals, will be forcefully removed,
- 44:54Speaker 8: but certainly some of them. That's what he is pledging
- 44:58Speaker 8: to do. And interestingly, that sets up conflict between the
- 45:04Speaker 8: federal government and some seats which are left leaning, and
- 45:09Speaker 8: especially in cities that are so called sanctuary cities, which
- 45:15Speaker 8: say that they're essentially going to oppose federal law. And
- 45:20Speaker 8: so we'll see how all of this shakes down. But
- 45:23Speaker 8: a huge part of the MAGA movement has really focused
- 45:28Speaker 8: on this porous border, the prevention of illegals, the removal
- 45:34Speaker 8: of them inside the country, and with it a reduction
- 45:39Speaker 8: in crime, which really has been elevated in a number
- 45:42Speaker 8: of American cities.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Oh look, absolutely, and this is one of the big
- 45:48Speaker 2: topics that Donald Trump was elected on, so he's acting
- 45:51Speaker 2: on it very quickly. Now I want to talk about
- 45:54Speaker 2: this preemptive part and given by Joe Biden at the
- 45:57Speaker 2: eleventh hour to General Martin Miley, a former top officer
- 46:00Speaker 2: in the US military. Now this was all due to
- 46:03Speaker 2: that chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal in twenty twenty one.
- 46:06Speaker 4: Miley has previously admitted.
- 46:08Speaker 2: That the withdrawal there where thirteen US troops lost their lives.
- 46:12Speaker 2: He admitted at the time that it was a strategic failure.
- 46:14Speaker 2: But Max, Okay, he may have been preemptly pardoned here,
- 46:18Speaker 2: but does he still need to be held to account.
- 46:23Speaker 8: Well, that may be the case. I think that there's
- 46:29Speaker 8: a big political element to all of this, and I
- 46:34Speaker 8: think that Trump really heats Miley for a number of reasons.
- 46:39Speaker 8: I mean, one of them is this botched withdrawal which
- 46:44Speaker 8: ended up killing thirteen Americans. It was also based on
- 46:49Speaker 8: a very poor understanding of Afghanistan, which highlighted a much
- 46:55Speaker 8: broader problem because with drop was predicated on this idea
- 47:00Speaker 8: that the Taliban wasn't going to swiftly take over the country,
- 47:04Speaker 8: which obviously was an assumption based on a terrible understanding
- 47:09Speaker 8: of Afghanistan after all that time. On top of that,
- 47:13Speaker 8: there's more to the bad blood between Trump and Miley. Miley,
- 47:18Speaker 8: you know, was the joint the joint Chief of staff
- 47:22Speaker 8: head under Trump, and he was seen as being almost
- 47:27Speaker 8: treasonous making phone calls with the Chinese uh conversations, uh
- 47:33Speaker 8: with the Roan going behind President Trump's back, and then
- 47:39Speaker 8: after Trump essentially campaigning against Trump and calling him a
- 47:46Speaker 8: fascist and a wanna be dictator. And so there was
- 47:50Speaker 8: a concern that Trump was going to, you know, go
- 47:54Speaker 8: after Miley, and you know, these are very partisan times,
- 47:59Speaker 8: and Biden wanted to make sure that you know, might
- 48:02Speaker 8: be you know, wouldn't get in trouble for it. So
- 48:04Speaker 8: that's really the backstory behind all of this.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's truly fascinating down at the eleventh hour,
- 48:11Speaker 2: in those final moments of his presidency. Very fascinating. Max Abrams,
- 48:15Speaker 2: nice to catch up with you. Thanks very much for
- 48:17Speaker 2: joining me on the show this evening.
- 48:20Speaker 8: My pleasure.
- 48:21Speaker 4: That's it for me. Up next is News Night, Good Night,
