- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the birds is back? What's going on? Everybody? Guess what?
- 0:15Speaker 1: It's Jeff Mosher here, it's Adam Kaplan on the other side.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We are reunited after several podcasts, Adam and I really
- 0:24Speaker 1: I gotta watch how much time off I might take
- 0:26Speaker 1: in the future, because you Andrew did this awesome job
- 0:29Speaker 1: and I. While I was away, I was keeping track.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I was listening to all the itvs and Echo dailies.
- 0:34Speaker 1: And then I noticed no comments on YouTube saying like,
- 0:38Speaker 1: did Jeff go somewhere where?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 0:40Speaker 1: No, it was like clean as a whistle. So I
- 0:43Speaker 1: guess I really wasn't missed that very much.
- 0:45Speaker 2: You guys did, yeah, as you celebrate your fiftieth yes,
- 0:50Speaker 2: we but yeah, it was great and the comments were
- 0:54Speaker 2: great over the last like like four or five days. Yeah.
- 0:58Speaker 2: What I did?
- 0:59Speaker 3: I just my play was run over to Andrew, you know,
- 1:01Speaker 3: just tea him up. We go back and forth. I'd
- 1:03Speaker 3: have my information, he had his, and away we went.
- 1:05Speaker 2: So I know you went to Saturday's practice, Yeah, your
- 1:09Speaker 2: jet lag.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so that your first look at them post OTAs.
- 1:14Speaker 2: What were your thoughts in that practice? Anything you could
- 1:16Speaker 2: see that was interesting?
- 1:17Speaker 1: Yes, I said this to Andrew in the podcast that
- 1:20Speaker 1: we put up on Saturday. And first of all, I
- 1:22Speaker 1: was I said, I guess I was fortunate in that. Well,
- 1:25Speaker 1: some might say unfortunate because it was ungodly hot, and I,
- 1:28Speaker 1: like you said, I had just stepped off the airplane
- 1:30Speaker 1: and went straight to practice, but fortunate in that it
- 1:33Speaker 1: was a I didn't realize this. It was the first
- 1:35Speaker 1: like main scrimmage between offense and defense of camp. So
- 1:40Speaker 1: there was a lot of There were about seven team
- 1:42Speaker 1: periods eleven on eleven's of first team offense, first first
- 1:45Speaker 1: team defense. So I got a pretty extended look at
- 1:49Speaker 1: a lot of you know, a lot the new offense,
- 1:51Speaker 1: the players on defense, some of the guys that you
- 1:53Speaker 1: and Andrew have been talking about upcomers. So it was good.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I was glad I I got to experience that. And then,
- 1:59Speaker 1: as I said to Andrew Adam that the one thing
- 2:01Speaker 1: that even missing the first seven practices and getting there
- 2:05Speaker 1: crystallized for me was how little, and we talk about
- 2:10Speaker 1: this all the time, little long term judgments you can
- 2:13Speaker 1: make off a training camp practice, and it's really about
- 2:16Speaker 1: what you learn formationally, position, group wise, who's running with
- 2:21Speaker 1: what I mean? Yes, there are some individual things that
- 2:24Speaker 1: you can take away. But you know when you watch
- 2:27Speaker 1: team periods eleven on eleven's but none or longer than
- 2:30Speaker 1: seven or eight plays, right, Some are just like move
- 2:32Speaker 1: the ball. So if you don't move the ball, it's
- 2:34Speaker 1: three and out. You know, it's not like a real game.
- 2:37Speaker 1: So I'm glad what we do here on inside the
- 2:39Speaker 1: Birds is really try to keep things into great perspective.
- 2:42Speaker 1: We're going to get into that a little bit today.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I'm one player, uh in particular, and then really sort
- 2:48Speaker 1: of be able to tell our audience what matters versus
- 2:52Speaker 1: what doesn't matter, and to make sure everybody takes everything
- 2:55Speaker 1: with a grain of salt, but also understands what is
- 2:59Speaker 1: developing that is really meaningful.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's just and we call it OTA's Double A.
- 3:05Speaker 3: This is Triple A Majors is regular season. So you
- 3:08Speaker 3: take for what it is, a lot of good things
- 3:11Speaker 3: have happened. There's some things that need to be cleaned up,
- 3:13Speaker 3: but it's obviously a lot more important and you could
- 3:16Speaker 3: learn more through training camp, but we've done this. We
- 3:20Speaker 3: just take it what we see, what we know, what
- 3:22Speaker 3: we're told, and then we.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Go from there.
- 3:23Speaker 3: We don't guess, we don't ever guess, so this is
- 3:26Speaker 3: what we know. It's information. Then we have to form
- 3:29Speaker 3: an opinion of where things are. We gathering information from people,
- 3:32Speaker 3: we speak with our own eyes, and what we're told,
- 3:35Speaker 3: and at some point we have to form it into Okay,
- 3:37Speaker 3: here's where we're at. And that's the purpose of two
- 3:40Speaker 3: weeks of practice, going back to the questions that we had,
- 3:44Speaker 3: and we'll tell you where everything's at. All.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Right, So here's what we're gonna do for this podcast. Right,
- 3:51Speaker 1: we got we're through two weeks. This is a big
- 3:53Speaker 1: third week of camp. It's always as camp drags on,
- 3:56Speaker 1: especially as it it's hot, things start to change. You
- 3:59Speaker 1: start to see who can sustain momentum, who loses momentum.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Lord knows, you can go back a few years and
- 4:06Speaker 1: we talk about guys playing well for the first two
- 4:08Speaker 1: weeks and then then all of a sudden they like
- 4:10Speaker 1: regress to the norm. Right, so this will be a
- 4:12Speaker 1: big third week. And then of course they've got their
- 4:14Speaker 1: first preseason game at the end of the week against
- 4:16Speaker 1: the Ravens coming up too. So what Adam and I
- 4:19Speaker 1: decided to do is, let's say, let's talk about going
- 4:21Speaker 1: into three weeks. Some of the things that we've learned
- 4:24Speaker 1: about this team after two weeks and where the questions
- 4:29Speaker 1: still lie. And I think that I do think the
- 4:30Speaker 1: preseason games, although you can't take much about that from
- 4:34Speaker 1: them long term, they do help answer some questions. So
- 4:37Speaker 1: that'll be an interesting one at the end of the
- 4:38Speaker 1: week against Baltimore. But Adam, let's get into are what
- 4:42Speaker 1: questions we still have about this team after two weeks.
- 4:44Speaker 1: What's the first thing that you think of right now?
- 4:46Speaker 2: Well, let's let's first. We have to set up like this.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Pre camp questions are first one, because that's how we
- 4:51Speaker 3: set this whole thing up. Sure, pre camp question, Sean
- 4:55Speaker 3: mannion offensive structure, what's going to look like? We did
- 4:57Speaker 3: see an ota is giving it. We knew what we
- 5:00Speaker 3: thought coming in was exactly what we got. West Coast offense.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Not a secret, It's exactly what we thought we were
- 5:06Speaker 3: going to get. It's a combination of McVeigh and Shanahan principles.
- 5:13Speaker 3: There'll be some there'll be plenty of twelve personnel, it'll
- 5:15Speaker 3: be some eleven. That's what we thought because we saw
- 5:17Speaker 3: this in OTAs. But that's OTAs training camp. A lot
- 5:22Speaker 3: of the same structures strictly timing based. There's no question
- 5:26Speaker 3: about it. More than more than anything we've seen here.
- 5:29Speaker 3: It's it's been what we thought. There's no question now
- 5:32Speaker 3: in terms of know how much twelve they're going to
- 5:35Speaker 3: play versus eleven personnel, there's no way to know that.
- 5:37Speaker 3: And when it also comes down to it's the personnel
- 5:41Speaker 3: that they haven't the confidence that the coaches have in it.
- 5:44Speaker 3: It's like the Bears right now, right with Luther Burnon's injury,
- 5:47Speaker 3: though it shouldn't be he should be ready for regular
- 5:49Speaker 3: of the regular season.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Their death is terrible. Receiver terrible.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Yeah, we told folks when the schedule came out, they're
- 5:55Speaker 3: going to be heavy twelve anyway. I mean they might
- 5:59Speaker 3: be up there leaving get a fell and twelve personnel
- 6:00Speaker 3: because it's what you have.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Mm hm no.
- 6:03Speaker 3: And Sean McVay, why do you go to a lot
- 6:06Speaker 3: of thirteen and twelve? Last season a ton of pookin
- 6:09Speaker 3: a cool got hurt. Pookin a cool got hurt. He
- 6:12Speaker 3: had some injuries. They didn't have the depth of receivers.
- 6:14Speaker 3: So you gotta you gotta, you gotta adapt. Now, that's
- 6:17Speaker 3: one thing as we go forward here, we don't know
- 6:20Speaker 3: because Manion's ever called plays before.
- 6:21Speaker 2: It's only start here and coaching.
- 6:23Speaker 3: How well can he adapt to the personnel that he
- 6:25Speaker 3: has that remains to be seen.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah, And after listening to you and Andrew for the
- 6:30Speaker 1: last you know, like week and a half and then
- 6:32Speaker 1: being observing of two hours, what really stuck out to
- 6:36Speaker 1: me and I imagine that this is going to be
- 6:37Speaker 1: something that holds true. We'll see is that Sean Manion
- 6:42Speaker 1: right now is he's not doing it just one way?
- 6:45Speaker 1: For you know, we talked about under center. They do
- 6:48Speaker 1: not go under center on every snap? Do the Rams
- 6:50Speaker 1: do that a lot? Yes? Do forty nine ers? Yes?
- 6:54Speaker 1: This fields to me watching it for a couple hours
- 6:56Speaker 1: a lot like what you see from the Packers, which
- 6:58Speaker 1: shouldn't be a surprise because man had his two seasons
- 7:01Speaker 1: of coaching there. The Packers will be in shotgun more
- 7:05Speaker 1: so than other most Shanahan McVeagh teams, and they'll also
- 7:08Speaker 1: incorporate the RPOs a little bit more. They even do
- 7:10Speaker 1: some gap running because Josh Jacobs is a good inside runner, right.
- 7:13Speaker 1: And so I observe that I observed a mix of
- 7:17Speaker 1: shotgun and under center. It's not gonna be a total
- 7:20Speaker 1: under center. I think I actually tried to try. It
- 7:22Speaker 1: was about forty percent under center for that practice, but
- 7:25Speaker 1: that could change on you know, based on what you
- 7:27Speaker 1: and Andrew might have seen it differently. And then even
- 7:30Speaker 1: some of the I did see the wide zone runs,
- 7:32Speaker 1: those were good, but even on some of the zone runs,
- 7:35Speaker 1: they funneled them up the middle because remember the Eagles
- 7:37Speaker 1: have run the ball up the middle very well for
- 7:40Speaker 1: the last two years, and you can still run the
- 7:42Speaker 1: ball up the middle inside zone. Ryan doesn't all have
- 7:46Speaker 1: to be wide zone. So I was impressed by just
- 7:49Speaker 1: the variety of shotgun versus under center, and the wide
- 7:53Speaker 1: zone versus the traditional inside zone that they'll run. I
- 7:56Speaker 1: imagine they might even it's hard hard to see exactly,
- 7:59Speaker 1: but maybe they will incorporate some gap running just once
- 8:02Speaker 1: in a while to because they have big, huge offensive linemen,
- 8:04Speaker 1: it would make sense to pull a trap one. So
- 8:07Speaker 1: that's good, that's good, that's and that's that's gonna be
- 8:09Speaker 1: interesting to see if they if Sean starts to favor
- 8:14Speaker 1: one or the other as far as under center or shotgun,
- 8:17Speaker 1: even motion, right, I saw a motion, but I had
- 8:20Speaker 1: seen motion on every snap. I saw some shifting. I
- 8:24Speaker 1: don't consider that the same as that late pre snap
- 8:27Speaker 1: motion that's intended to really make a you know, give
- 8:30Speaker 1: the the defense a little bit of an eye candy
- 8:32Speaker 1: every once in a while to see your receiver shift
- 8:33Speaker 1: from like slot to out and then like right right,
- 8:38Speaker 1: right right. I also saw a balance. Yes, they had
- 8:42Speaker 1: condensed formations at times, but they also had your traditional
- 8:46Speaker 1: one by threes and two by two. So you're you're
- 8:49Speaker 1: getting the whole crock pot here with the egos offense,
- 8:51Speaker 1: and I know it's gonna rub some people the wrong way.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni has said it, and Sean Manion has said it.
- 8:57Speaker 1: They are going to maintain some of the things they
- 9:01Speaker 1: have done well in their past Eagles offense, Tush push
- 9:05Speaker 1: being one. They mentioned that, like I said, inside running,
- 9:08Speaker 1: they will take things that they did well. I saw
- 9:11Speaker 1: one play at them where they motioned Barkley all the
- 9:14Speaker 1: way out from from behind center all the way out
- 9:17Speaker 1: that took the linebacker out. We've seen that a million times.
- 9:20Speaker 1: That's a cue that Jalen Hurts is going to keep
- 9:21Speaker 1: it and run up the middle, because when you're when
- 9:23Speaker 1: you got the defensive nickel and you get one of
- 9:26Speaker 1: the two linebackers already going out. It means you only
- 9:28Speaker 1: have one linebacker to block center Bloxham Hurts follows up
- 9:32Speaker 1: the middle. That's been a good play for them in
- 9:34Speaker 1: the old Eagles offense. And I saw it run at
- 9:37Speaker 1: least once on Saturday.
- 9:39Speaker 2: All right. Two things.
- 9:40Speaker 3: No team ever runs one hundred percent zone. This is
- 9:42Speaker 3: what a front of mine is. You've met this coach.
- 9:45Speaker 2: We won't.
- 9:45Speaker 3: It's an offensive life. But you know exactly what I'm
- 9:47Speaker 3: talking about. He said, there's never a chance where one
- 9:51Speaker 3: team wuns zone all year or one gap.
- 9:56Speaker 2: It never had.
- 9:57Speaker 3: It's not the way it works. But you're gonna if
- 9:59Speaker 3: you're his own team, you're going to run a majority.
- 10:02Speaker 3: It's sixty seventy percent zone. That's what That's what you're
- 10:05Speaker 3: gonna run.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Primarily, if I could create a cash app card to
- 10:09Speaker 1: best represent my family, it would be a cup of coffee,
- 10:13Speaker 1: but not in a mug. It would be in one
- 10:15Speaker 1: of those styrofoam to go cups, because basically that is
- 10:19Speaker 1: our family, always hitting those coffee places with the styrofoam cups.
- 10:23Speaker 1: You know them very well, and nothing makes my kids
- 10:25Speaker 1: happier than hitting up those places early and often for
- 10:29Speaker 1: all the parents out there with teenagers, we know you're
- 10:31Speaker 1: already trying to keep a million different things under control.

- 12:35Speaker 1: wake up in the morning. I have so many things
- 12:37Speaker 1: on my mind. I can't get any of this done
- 12:40Speaker 1: until I have my first cup of coffee. I know
- 12:42Speaker 1: a lot of you feel the same way. You either
- 12:44Speaker 1: need that coffee, that nicotine pouch, maybe even energy drink

- 14:14Speaker 1: inside the birds sent you.
- 14:17Speaker 3: And the other thing is you should know there's some
- 14:21Speaker 3: there's some things that hurts likes.
- 14:22Speaker 2: They're going to keep. You should do that. Why would you?
- 14:24Speaker 2: I get it.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Whether they wanted to advance to modern offense, not be
- 14:28Speaker 3: back to the Stone age, we all know that, but
- 14:31Speaker 3: they also want to keep some things at Jalen likes.
- 14:32Speaker 3: That's called coaching. You don't just okay, that's it, You
- 14:36Speaker 3: have no say it doesn't work. No one's ever coaches
- 14:38Speaker 3: that way, right, But they change the terminology. They went
- 14:41Speaker 3: to West Coast and it definitely looks different though in
- 14:45Speaker 3: terms from ohas to now and where it's kind of
- 14:47Speaker 3: what you were saying, because again, there's so much seven
- 14:51Speaker 3: on seven, not a lot eleven on eleven, it's more
- 14:53Speaker 3: flag football in oas very late. But now you're seeing
- 14:57Speaker 3: a lot of what we expected in terms of formation, variation,
- 15:02Speaker 3: lots of motions, a ton of them burst motion. I
- 15:07Speaker 3: saw a reverse orbit, which was sweet. I can't remember
- 15:09Speaker 3: who they did it with. She might have been Brittain Covey.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Before he got hurt, I.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Was gonna say, that must be. It must be a
- 15:15Speaker 1: small guy, right, like, that's why I said it.
- 15:18Speaker 3: I thought it was, but I didn't write it down.
- 15:21Speaker 3: I think I know he's number eighteen. He actually, by
- 15:23Speaker 3: the way he looked, he looked really good before he
- 15:25Speaker 3: got hurt.
- 15:28Speaker 2: So yeah, it's good. It's cool. It's just so different
- 15:30Speaker 2: from what we're used to hear.
- 15:32Speaker 3: When we went to OTAs, I was like, yeah, it
- 15:35Speaker 3: looks like what we thought. But man, it doesn't look
- 15:37Speaker 3: like anything that we saw before.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Right, it's kind of weird. You know. It's like when
- 15:40Speaker 2: Chip Kelly came in here at thirteen.
- 15:42Speaker 3: You'd heard about it what it might look like if
- 15:44Speaker 3: you're going fast, but until you actually see it, you go,
- 15:48Speaker 3: this is crazy. I can't believe what I'm saying here.
- 15:51Speaker 3: But it's cool, man, It's it's different. But I'll tell
- 15:55Speaker 3: you this, if you execute, you don't have to have
- 15:58Speaker 3: the greatest group of past target to the world. The
- 16:01Speaker 3: Niners can answer that for you. It's about space creation.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I remember I remember Carlos Hie telling me he had
- 16:07Speaker 3: never had so much room to run with wide zone,
- 16:12Speaker 3: one cut, get up field, he goes, Dude, you have
- 16:13Speaker 3: no idea how much room I have. Right, it's that's
- 16:16Speaker 3: the run game. But in past game, creating space for
- 16:20Speaker 3: guys like Cooper Cup okay, who never ran all that well,
- 16:25Speaker 3: Pooka Nakula by the way, not a speedster. Great scheme,
- 16:29Speaker 3: great route running guys, get open. I mean, it's just
- 16:33Speaker 3: it's gonna happen here. John Tavian Wicks is killing it.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Man. I don't know what you saw Saturday. That was
- 16:40Speaker 2: her longest practice.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Yeah it was okay, he didn't have like the kind
- 16:43Speaker 1: of gay practices that I was listening to with you
- 16:46Speaker 1: and Andrew.
- 16:46Speaker 3: But nominating timing, it's that him and Hurts. I'll tell
- 16:49Speaker 3: you what that and we'll get to Hurts in a second.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Here there develops some chemistry, real chemistry. It's truly those
- 16:54Speaker 3: two more than the other quarterbacks.
- 16:56Speaker 1: That's good I'm obviously with mikail Lemon out, you need
- 16:58Speaker 1: Hurts to have a number two. With DeVonta Smith out
- 17:01Speaker 1: with the hammy, you needed Hurts to really start to
- 17:03Speaker 1: develop that rapport that you see that he's got with Wix,
- 17:07Speaker 1: and I know Darius Cooper has played well. That's a
- 17:09Speaker 1: good transition over to Hurts. You said things that Hurts likes,
- 17:12Speaker 1: and one thing Hurts is always liked to do, regardless
- 17:15Speaker 1: of the offense, is make plays with his legs if
- 17:18Speaker 1: it's there. And I saw five or six times in
- 17:22Speaker 1: the in the session where I'm gonna I'm not talking
- 17:25Speaker 1: about the time where he ran up the middle on
- 17:27Speaker 1: an attended run. I'm talking about freelance scrambles right where
- 17:31Speaker 1: he did that ran for a first down. Now, in
- 17:33Speaker 1: a game and it's in a practice, you you can't
- 17:36Speaker 1: hit him. So I don't know if those would have
- 17:38Speaker 1: been good runs in a game or not, but it
- 17:40Speaker 1: did indicate to me that you know the whole rhythm
- 17:45Speaker 1: and timing that we're talking about, and this shouldn't I shouldn't.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Just I'm using Hurts as an example because of the scrambles,
- 17:50Speaker 1: I thought all of the quarterbacks in general, even McKee
- 17:55Speaker 1: at times. I think you mentioned this in a previous BOT.
- 17:57Speaker 1: It's they're not necessarily it's not bang bang bang plant
- 18:01Speaker 1: the back foot and pass bang bang bang plant. There
- 18:03Speaker 1: are so I did see some of it, but I
- 18:05Speaker 1: think they're still coming along in that area. I honestly
- 18:08Speaker 1: thought Dalton in the session that I watched, was the
- 18:11Speaker 1: best at it. But that shouldn't be surprising because he's
- 18:13Speaker 1: played for fifteen years. He's played in offenses, and I'm
- 18:17Speaker 1: sure we're similar. And Jake Gruden, yeah, he knows how
- 18:20Speaker 1: to get rid of the ball quickly if he needs to,
- 18:21Speaker 1: because he's got to do that to survive as long
- 18:24Speaker 1: as he has in the league.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Yeah that Jake Gruden ran a West Coast offense for
- 18:29Speaker 3: many years with the Bengals and with the Commanders or
- 18:33Speaker 3: the then Redskins, or maybe it was watching football team
- 18:36Speaker 3: before he got canned. But anyway, I'll say this, let's
- 18:40Speaker 3: transition to Hurtz. I'll tell you when he's on time,
- 18:45Speaker 3: it looks beautiful. I mean, it's just it's repetitions. He
- 18:49Speaker 3: just needs raps and reps and reps because he's not
- 18:53Speaker 3: been a timing quarterback.
- 18:54Speaker 2: That's not been his deal, right, but.
- 18:56Speaker 3: It's been sporadic him and wicks it. When he throws
- 19:00Speaker 3: to the spot and makes Wos go get it, that's
- 19:02Speaker 3: called timing anticipation. It's more time than anticipation. What Brady
- 19:06Speaker 3: and Manning did was throw with anticipation. I've brought this
- 19:10Speaker 3: up over the years just to remind people. The best
- 19:12Speaker 3: practice I've seen in my life was Tom Brady here
- 19:15Speaker 3: twenty five for twenty five, every single pass with anticipation,
- 19:19Speaker 3: three step drop balls out. If the guy's here didn't matter,
- 19:22Speaker 3: It's up to the past target to go get the football.
- 19:24Speaker 1: If you're watching on YouTube, you couldn't even you didn't
- 19:26Speaker 1: even know who the intended receiver was, right exactly what
- 19:29Speaker 1: throwing and then you'd see the receiver break toward it.
- 19:32Speaker 2: You just turn his body to throw and I'm like what.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It's kind of like, where's he go?
- 19:35Speaker 1: Oh wow, I.
- 19:35Speaker 3: See what he means, Andy, And then he bitched the
- 19:37Speaker 3: guy out if the guy wasn't there, like we went,
- 19:39Speaker 3: why weren't you there? Right? And that's it's it's it's
- 19:44Speaker 3: at least you're seeing some of it. But he's got
- 19:46Speaker 3: to do it more consistently. McKee is just not pulling
- 19:50Speaker 3: the trigger. He's just not he's not pulling it. He's
- 19:54Speaker 3: just not pulling it, pulling the trigger as much as
- 19:56Speaker 3: he needs to.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Yeah, he had a couple of passes that were good,
- 19:58Speaker 1: but they were batted, which is a good defensive play,
- 20:02Speaker 1: so sometimes you have to give the defense credit. But
- 20:04Speaker 1: that made me think that he's just like a tick,
- 20:09Speaker 1: not has its just a tick too slow on where
- 20:11Speaker 1: he's going and when he's going with it. And again
- 20:13Speaker 1: one practice that's what I saw. But you know, I
- 20:15Speaker 1: listened to you and Andrew, and it just felt like
- 20:17Speaker 1: a tick that he's off a little bit or else.
- 20:19Speaker 1: You know, maybe these PBUs turned into completions and he
- 20:22Speaker 1: leads the receiver up the field and with hurts. You know,
- 20:28Speaker 1: watching that practice reminded me a little bit of the
- 20:31Speaker 1: Chargers game. Take away that I know he threw a
- 20:33Speaker 1: ton of interceptions. He did throw one to Zach Bond
- 20:37Speaker 1: that wasn't good, but in general that Chargers game. You
- 20:40Speaker 1: remember how we were saying that just take the interceptions away.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Some were freak plays, right, He made about five or
- 20:47Speaker 1: six throws in that game that were really well from
- 20:50Speaker 1: a time, those were good. Remember they were starting to
- 20:52Speaker 1: incorporate like real, actual NFL passing concepts, and he hit
- 20:56Speaker 1: on a few really good ones, including the long one
- 20:59Speaker 1: to DeVante smith In. I think it was an overtime, right,
- 21:02Speaker 1: give me one overtime if I'm not mistaken. But he
- 21:04Speaker 1: was like a third and sixteen. He fired it and
- 21:07Speaker 1: I did. I was like, wow, I saw some of that.
- 21:09Speaker 1: You see it, but then you also see again the
- 21:12Speaker 1: sort of the times where he's just fleeing the pocket
- 21:14Speaker 1: and there might not have been pressure, and times where
- 21:17Speaker 1: he did hit some guys but they were just open.
- 21:21Speaker 1: There might have been a coverage buster or something. Ll
- 21:23Speaker 1: Dallas got her ended ended it by plucking one out
- 21:26Speaker 1: of the sky for touchdowns. A really cool connection and
- 21:29Speaker 1: a good throw by Hurts to put it where only
- 21:30Speaker 1: can get it, but not necessarily that that beautiful three
- 21:33Speaker 1: step bam drop, you know, timing rhythm thing.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Like that, the catch that Wicks had. I I think
- 21:39Speaker 3: it was Tuesday's practice. I was at it was a scramble.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Smitte.
- 21:44Speaker 3: I don't think Smitty practiced then, yeah, him and Lemon
- 21:47Speaker 3: didn't practice. Well yeah, naturally right, it's like other than Wix,
- 21:52Speaker 3: who's getting get open. It impacts you so for sure.
- 21:57Speaker 3: But the good thing is Wix went back to the football.
- 21:59Speaker 3: See this is it's funny. That's been the one issue
- 22:01Speaker 3: with this group. How many times we talked about not
- 22:03Speaker 3: enough though, as these guys don't do a very good
- 22:06Speaker 3: job overall. They haven't done it before the season, Brown Smitty,
- 22:10Speaker 3: some aj didn't didn't do a good job of But
- 22:12Speaker 3: come back to the football like the Chiefs receivers have
- 22:16Speaker 3: done it for years. You got to know how your
- 22:18Speaker 3: quarterback to play. For sure plays off schedule. My home
- 22:21Speaker 3: plays off schedule. Come back to the damn football, right,
- 22:23Speaker 3: so got to do that better.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Yeah. That leads us into wide receivers. Now, it was
- 22:28Speaker 1: really difficult for me to I mean, there was no
- 22:30Speaker 1: DeVante Smith, there was no Mikai Lemon. So you're already
- 22:34Speaker 1: down two of your top three wide receivers, you know.
- 22:38Speaker 1: So obviously I got to see a decent amount of
- 22:39Speaker 1: Cooper running with the first team. Elijah Moore ran with
- 22:42Speaker 1: the first team. I felt like the best examples that
- 22:45Speaker 1: I saw of the timing offense, you know, the quick
- 22:50Speaker 1: step drop and hear your feet on the ground and
- 22:53Speaker 1: hit work from him to Elijah more a few times
- 22:56Speaker 1: because Elijah played pretty well. I just I still think
- 23:01Speaker 1: when all is said and done, it's very very up.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I know he's at a good camp. It's going to
- 23:04Speaker 1: be an uphill battle from the making because of just
- 23:07Speaker 1: he's not a special team or and he's not teams you.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Know, I would say this maybe after the first couple
- 23:14Speaker 3: of days. He's been on fire, like, he's been very
- 23:16Speaker 3: active catching them ball. There's one play he were on
- 23:19Speaker 3: the ren. Uh there was a timing issue with Hertz
- 23:23Speaker 3: for a pick, but more when I think there was
- 23:25Speaker 3: a morning go the right way. But he's he's looked
- 23:29Speaker 3: really good, like he's he's healthy, he's a great, really
- 23:34Speaker 3: good frame of mind. It's it's it looks good. But
- 23:38Speaker 3: it's going to be hard to justify it because he's
- 23:40Speaker 3: a vested veteran. Just cut him, say hey, the agent
- 23:43Speaker 3: would love to have him.
- 23:44Speaker 2: The practice squad will bring him up you know when
- 23:45Speaker 2: we need him.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Yeah, he's shown he could still play only twenty six, folks,
- 23:50Speaker 3: it's hard to believe.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Hard to believe, Harry, hard to believe.
- 23:54Speaker 1: I'll be interested to see how he does in the
- 23:55Speaker 1: preseason games, because it did strike me as I was
- 23:58Speaker 1: listening to you guys talking about how good of a
- 23:59Speaker 1: camp here was having than saw it myself. It struck
- 24:02Speaker 1: me that Elijah could be like kind of that guy
- 24:04Speaker 1: who's perfect in training camp, because he was good enough,
- 24:07Speaker 1: fast enough to be a top fifty pick. And in
- 24:09Speaker 1: training camp it's a passing camp. The quarterbacks are not
- 24:12Speaker 1: under that much durress, Like it's probably easier from the
- 24:15Speaker 1: shine there. Why hasn't he translated it to NFL games.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I don't know because I haven't watched him enough, but
- 24:20Speaker 1: I in his.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Career he was phenomenal career. Yeah, very early with the Jets,
- 24:25Speaker 3: he was outstanding. Then Zach Wilson happened and he wanted out.
- 24:30Speaker 3: He was miserable, He didn't want he would want to
- 24:31Speaker 3: be there. He tried to call his concerns, it didn't work.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Joe Dougas said he wasn't going to trade him, that
- 24:36Speaker 3: he wound up trading him.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's a real indictment if you're on Buffalo
- 24:39Speaker 1: and you can't get on the field like he was
- 24:41Speaker 1: on Buffalo and they were playing, you know, an ageless
- 24:44Speaker 1: Brandon Cooks over him, right, Because wasn't he on Buffalo's
- 24:47Speaker 1: practice squad last year or maybe he was on their fifteen.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I don't know he was.
- 24:50Speaker 2: He was with Buffalo in their off season and then
- 24:55Speaker 2: they cut them in November. It's actually cut right, right,
- 24:58Speaker 2: which is not you're right.
- 25:00Speaker 3: They had all sorts of problems at receiver last year.
- 25:02Speaker 3: As we said, last year, they didn't have a one
- 25:03Speaker 3: or two. They had a bunch of number threes, fours
- 25:05Speaker 3: and fives. Yep, despite what Brandon Bean thought, and he
- 25:08Speaker 3: bristled at all the criticism.
- 25:10Speaker 2: He finally admitted because he traded for Gg Moore. He
- 25:12Speaker 2: just told you what he thought. He did it. I love.
- 25:16Speaker 3: I love when they deny it and then they go
- 25:18Speaker 3: they do the exact opposite, give in. But yeah, you know,
- 25:21Speaker 3: you're right, and yeah, he just turned twenty six in March.
- 25:24Speaker 3: It's yeah, he had to be twenty was drafted. But anyway,
- 25:29Speaker 3: he's he's pushing because again he could play two positions.
- 25:32Speaker 3: At Z position, which is his natural position. That that
- 25:35Speaker 3: that's where DeVante usually lines up, and the slot. He's
- 25:39Speaker 3: played slot, and I saw him playing inside left and right.
- 25:42Speaker 3: I saw them reduce them in practice where he'd be
- 25:45Speaker 3: out here and then they reduce them, which is a
- 25:48Speaker 3: pretty significant trade of the the McVeigh offense. So we'll
- 25:53Speaker 3: see what happens. But I'm just telling you there's good competition.
- 25:58Speaker 3: So again, what if we learn what we know? Right,
- 26:02Speaker 3: we didn't know about We knew who Wicks was and
- 26:04Speaker 3: he did some good things in O.
- 26:05Speaker 2: T A S.
- 26:06Speaker 3: But ots means nothing to me. I write it all down,
- 26:09Speaker 3: but I mean I don't. It just doesn't mean anything
- 26:11Speaker 3: to me. So you got to show up in training camp.
- 26:13Speaker 3: That's when the competition begins. He's shown up big time,
- 26:16Speaker 3: so we we've learned that he's he's he's getting the
- 26:19Speaker 3: job done. Okay, DeVante's out, hamsterring Lemon out again with
- 26:23Speaker 3: the same ham hamstring problem. Haylowood Brown still not seeing
- 26:27Speaker 3: that the deep throws.
- 26:29Speaker 2: I'm just not enough. I I've learned my lesson to
- 26:32Speaker 2: not overjudge that.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Mm hmm uh.
- 26:35Speaker 2: You may may not have had an opportunity.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Maybe there's some throws at Hurts didn't pull the trigger,
- 26:39Speaker 3: or McKee or Dalton didn't pull the trigger.
- 26:40Speaker 2: We don't know that.
- 26:41Speaker 3: We don't get access to the practice tape. Okay, we
- 26:43Speaker 3: don't get access to that, So I don't make any
- 26:45Speaker 3: harsh judgments. But we need to see explosive places from him.
- 26:49Speaker 3: That's why he's here, why they guaranteed five million. And
- 26:52Speaker 3: that's and Darius Cooper is you know, I got to
- 26:55Speaker 3: add this, you know, for you know, Mike gil brought
- 26:58Speaker 3: this up. Froddy is he more of a heisman? He
- 27:00Speaker 3: just chows up in training camp and he doesn't contribute.
- 27:05Speaker 3: But I did say, listen, dude, you got to understand
- 27:08Speaker 3: that Siriani made it perfectly clear. Once you get past
- 27:11Speaker 3: Smith and that was Brown. Once you get past Smith, Brown,
- 27:15Speaker 3: Lemon and Goddard, there's I don't care if Cooper's the
- 27:18Speaker 3: three receiver, he's not gonna be football. You need to
- 27:21Speaker 3: understand that they're not gonna be Here's what we know.
- 27:24Speaker 3: They're not gonna be a ten personnel team. They'll play
- 27:25Speaker 3: their share of eleven and they're gonna probably play a
- 27:27Speaker 3: top twelve because they're a running team. Yeah, so it's
- 27:30Speaker 3: not Darres Cooper's fault that he doesn't get the ball
- 27:32Speaker 3: when he's had a great camp.
- 27:34Speaker 1: I agree.
- 27:34Speaker 3: When I'm talking about in the regular season, he'll be
- 27:36Speaker 3: on the team. Yeah, I'm just saying like he's not
- 27:38Speaker 3: gonna be a factor at all in the past game
- 27:39Speaker 3: there's not.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Unless there's there's a bunch of injuries that.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Or they can bench. Yeah if on injuries, Yes, what
- 27:46Speaker 2: you're saying.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Under normal circumstances, Wick's doing his job, Lemon healthy, doing
- 27:49Speaker 3: his job.
- 27:50Speaker 2: He's not gonna be a factor just the way it is.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I agree with that. I could see him
- 27:54Speaker 1: maybe getting in on some eleven personnel run because he's
- 27:57Speaker 1: a big, strong guy, and maybe they want to keep
- 27:59Speaker 1: Lemon out of it there for for injury purposes. But uh, yeah, yeah,
- 28:03Speaker 1: I agree with you. But I am convinced though last
- 28:06Speaker 1: summer it was not just some flash in the plan
- 28:08Speaker 1: like the good receiver.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he brings in and there's no question being
- 28:15Speaker 3: a former quarterback.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Helps him for sure.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Absolutely, he's he's been. He's been one of those training
- 28:22Speaker 2: camp stars.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Uh.
- 28:23Speaker 2: It was good and OTAs by the way.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Yeah, so so we learned that we we kind of
- 28:27Speaker 3: have a pretty good feel for the receiver position. We
- 28:30Speaker 3: got we see the timing issue at quarterback, like what
- 28:32Speaker 3: Manning's doing. Love it with a structure. Uh, and it
- 28:36Speaker 3: goes with all three quarterbacks. The receiver quality is okay,
- 28:41Speaker 3: they have some depth, no doubt, it's it's definitely versable depth.
- 28:45Speaker 3: They've got inside guys, outside guys. Uh and but the
- 28:50Speaker 3: big story coming in here that the other big story
- 28:52Speaker 3: was a healthy offensive line. There's no question we've certainly
- 28:55Speaker 3: learned a little bit about that.
- 28:56Speaker 2: It's been mostly positive.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Now, Lane Johnson was able to come back. I
- 28:59Speaker 1: mean talked about Adam that on Saturday. He's basically said,
- 29:03Speaker 1: this is my final year. He's got a lot of
- 29:05Speaker 1: family stuff going on that you know, pulls him away
- 29:08Speaker 1: from the field a little bit. But he's back. I mean,
- 29:11Speaker 1: he made he insisted he's focused on this year, but
- 29:14Speaker 1: it'll very likely be his last year. He had high
- 29:16Speaker 1: praise for Mark Albell. That's a guy who can we
- 29:19Speaker 1: say he's answered questions yet he's held up in camp.
- 29:21Speaker 1: All right. Clay Harbor was at camp and he and
- 29:23Speaker 1: I were talking and the one thing that we both
- 29:26Speaker 1: acknowledged is that his massiveness alone makes him a very
- 29:30Speaker 1: difficult guy to get around. But his feet, his coordination
- 29:35Speaker 1: still need to be improved. And my response to that
- 29:39Speaker 1: was yes, but if his feet were like of the
- 29:41Speaker 1: dancing bear variety, he would have been a top ten pick,
- 29:44Speaker 1: top five pick, because.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got to redistribute his weight. He's just a
- 29:49Speaker 3: little bit awkward with his footwork. He is a the
- 29:53Speaker 3: old line coach I talked to for the draft who
- 29:57Speaker 3: either his team had him in for a visit or
- 29:58Speaker 3: he sat down him. He he sat down with them
- 30:00Speaker 3: for a while, or he was at the combine. I'm
- 30:02Speaker 3: not sure, but he loved Mark hel Bell loved him.
- 30:05Speaker 2: He said he bonded with him.
- 30:06Speaker 3: He's a real responsible young man, takes responsibility for his weight. Look,
- 30:10Speaker 3: he's six foot nine to two tenths of an inch.
- 30:12Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's got to grow into He's still
- 30:14Speaker 3: not growing totally grown into his body yet, right, but
- 30:18Speaker 3: he's got a lot of ability. And it's the Eagles
- 30:20Speaker 3: sincere hope that he'll be Lane's replacement. Yeah, so we
- 30:24Speaker 3: don't know that yet, but he's making some progress. There's
- 30:27Speaker 3: no doubt he's making some progress. And the good thing
- 30:30Speaker 3: about their offensive line is Jurgen's had a little tweak
- 30:34Speaker 3: the other day, but he's okay.
- 30:36Speaker 2: There. They have some.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Really interesting developmental offensive lineman, which we weren't sure about.
- 30:41Speaker 3: That was one of the questions on our big long list.
- 30:44Speaker 3: But we're seeing some good things.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think Drew Kendall is really showing that
- 30:48Speaker 1: he's he's up to playing center. He's up to about
- 30:51Speaker 1: three oh five, he said, So he's put on some weight.
- 30:53Speaker 1: He you can play guard at three oh five to
- 30:55Speaker 1: three ten. That's I think so. Yeah, definitely was in
- 30:58Speaker 1: that neighborhood, so that that's fine. Happy with him. I
- 31:02Speaker 1: think you would agree. I don't know that it's it's
- 31:04Speaker 1: safe to not have Fred Johnson on your sixty nine
- 31:07Speaker 1: overall and just go with Mark al Bell as your
- 31:10Speaker 1: top ten. I know they were running him first team
- 31:12Speaker 1: when Lane Johnson was out. I think that was a
- 31:14Speaker 1: little bit educational for both. I don't know that they
- 31:17Speaker 1: feel safe without having Fred Johnson as a backup because
- 31:20Speaker 1: he's been a quality backup for them. We'll learn more
- 31:23Speaker 1: as camp goes on. And Who's the one thing I
- 31:26Speaker 1: would still say, especially with the way the interior offensive
- 31:29Speaker 1: line was beat up last year, is it's great that
- 31:32Speaker 1: they feel like Drew Kendall can step in, be centered,
- 31:34Speaker 1: maybe even be guard. But is there another guy that
- 31:38Speaker 1: can emerge as a legit interior offensive line or sort
- 31:43Speaker 1: of a guard slash tackle have because I would feel
- 31:46Speaker 1: more comfortable knowing that and I'm not. They have all
- 31:49Speaker 1: these guys, whether it's Willie lamp And or Mike and
- 31:51Speaker 1: Morris and some other guys in camp. To Hinton's who
- 31:54Speaker 1: you know he's running with the third team. He's like, yeah, yeah,
- 31:58Speaker 1: that's what I can't I again, it's just one camp.
- 32:02Speaker 1: I kind of liked myself for Michael Jordan because he's
- 32:05Speaker 1: a big guy with long arms, and when you put
- 32:07Speaker 1: him at left guard next to Fred Johnson, he's the
- 32:10Speaker 1: big guy with long arms. It gives him a pretty
- 32:12Speaker 1: formidable pairing there. But I just feel like someone we
- 32:15Speaker 1: need to see someone start to emerge, not just Drew
- 32:18Speaker 1: Kendall on the inside.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Well, Jake Majors is that guy. Yeah, he's outlying him,
- 32:24Speaker 3: I don't know. For weeks now, and he's been he's
- 32:28Speaker 3: been the backup center because they already know about Kendall.
- 32:31Speaker 3: They already knows he's their backup center. But they've cross
- 32:34Speaker 3: trained heavily. It's a little bit of it in ot
- 32:37Speaker 3: is not much, but now he's lining up almost exclusively.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Kennelled either guard spot and Andrew said he talked to me, said, yeah,
- 32:44Speaker 3: he put on like fifteen pounds of bulk. Because I
- 32:47Speaker 3: remember when I someone OTAs, I said Andrew, I said, wow,
- 32:50Speaker 3: what is this?
- 32:51Speaker 2: Wait a minute, I can't believe this.
- 32:54Speaker 3: He's not as big as his dad Pete, but in
- 32:55Speaker 3: terms of bulk, but I was like, wow, he looks
- 32:58Speaker 3: much bigger when he needed to because he was too
- 33:00Speaker 3: small last season. And there are definitely still questions whether
- 33:04Speaker 3: he's a guard where they can play guard in a
- 33:06Speaker 3: real game. But we're gonna find out. I suspect during
- 33:09Speaker 3: the preseason he's going to play guard. They should in fact,
- 33:11Speaker 3: what you wouldn't spend this much time and not have
- 33:13Speaker 3: him do that?
- 33:13Speaker 2: Why would you? Why would you not do that?
- 33:15Speaker 1: I agree? And that's like you said, you already know
- 33:18Speaker 1: Drew Kendall can be your backup center. Who can be
- 33:20Speaker 1: a center guard? Or do you have a guard that
- 33:22Speaker 1: can also play tackle something that they'd like to rely on?
- 33:27Speaker 3: Uh?
- 33:27Speaker 1: I know because I was there right and I was
- 33:30Speaker 1: among a couple of writers who paid real close attention
- 33:34Speaker 1: to the one on ones. And Willie Lampkin did an
- 33:37Speaker 1: excellent job against Cabe Hall on two reps and then
- 33:42Speaker 1: some third strinth that Zion what's Zion Zion Wilson? Yeah,
- 33:47Speaker 1: he had four really good reps against those two guys,
- 33:50Speaker 1: you know, back to back, and it kind of got
- 33:52Speaker 1: everybody buzzing. And I know people have written about it,
- 33:55Speaker 1: but I do want everybody to understand just a couple
- 33:57Speaker 1: of things. One the the one on one linemen offensive linemen,
- 34:01Speaker 1: they're kind of like receiver defensive back. They don't mean anything.
- 34:05Speaker 1: In fact, Todd Harriman's and Trey Thomas friends of this
- 34:08Speaker 1: show who have been on the show, have told us
- 34:10Speaker 1: quite often that there's sort of like a unspoken agreement
- 34:15Speaker 1: between and usually among the starters that You're not gonna
- 34:18Speaker 1: go hard against me, and I'm not gonna go hard
- 34:20Speaker 1: against you because we're gonna save it for eleven on eleven.
- 34:23Speaker 1: So this is just one on ones and it doesn't.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Mean anything, but it is good for those. But it
- 34:28Speaker 2: is good though for the the third.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I have no doubt. I have no doubt that Byron
- 34:34Speaker 1: Young was trying hard, and I have no doubt Willy
- 34:36Speaker 1: Lampin was trying hard. So what I observed is that
- 34:40Speaker 1: Willy does a really good job. Right of when you're
- 34:45Speaker 1: a center guard and you're in one on ones, you're
- 34:47Speaker 1: not gonna see a whole lot of speed. You're not
- 34:49Speaker 1: seeing speed rushers. You're you're up against defensive tackles, so
- 34:51Speaker 1: your anchor is really important. Your hand punch, your early
- 34:55Speaker 1: hand punch. Offensive line coaches talking about building a house
- 34:58Speaker 1: in a confined area. You got a stamp stamp parts punch,
- 35:01Speaker 1: and I saw him do that really well. And basically
- 35:04Speaker 1: Stone Gabe Hall and Zion Taylor, who are both much
- 35:07Speaker 1: bigger and taller and longer than him. So what's clear
- 35:10Speaker 1: to me is Lampkin has a good idea and a plan,
- 35:13Speaker 1: which he should because he's been undersized his whole life.
- 35:16Speaker 1: He's had to deal with guys bigger than him his
- 35:18Speaker 1: whole college career. Are now in the NFL. He did
- 35:21Speaker 1: get an opportunity to play second team guard because Jurgens
- 35:26Speaker 1: got a little overheated, walked down and they put Kendall
- 35:28Speaker 1: moved him from guard to center. So that was good
- 35:31Speaker 1: that Lampkin got cross trained there. I think the preseason
- 35:34Speaker 1: is gonna be enormous for this guy. People are gonna
- 35:36Speaker 1: love him, but at the end of the day, the
- 35:38Speaker 1: Eagles are always gonna have to decide to themselves, like,
- 35:41Speaker 1: is this the whole point of having backup offensive lineman.
- 35:45Speaker 1: It's not like having a fourth receiver or a fourth corner.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Those guys make the team because of special teams almost
- 35:51Speaker 1: as much as what they can do on the field.
- 35:53Speaker 1: If you're a backup offensive lineman, you made the team
- 35:56Speaker 1: because the team believes you can go in there and
- 35:58Speaker 1: hold your own. If a starterupt, they don't care. And
- 36:00Speaker 1: I do think that they're in their minds it has
- 36:03Speaker 1: to be can this kid, if we lose both Jurgens
- 36:08Speaker 1: and Dickerson right, and we've got Kendall playing one spot,
- 36:11Speaker 1: can we rely on Willie Lampkin to go in there
- 36:14Speaker 1: for like forty five snaps against a real NFL starting
- 36:17Speaker 1: DT and hold his own. That's gonna be a big
- 36:21Speaker 1: thing for him to prove in these preseason games where
- 36:23Speaker 1: at least still be going up against you know, NFL
- 36:26Speaker 1: caliber players who are not on his own team, and
- 36:29Speaker 1: we'll just have to see. I think it's tough. I mean,
- 36:32Speaker 1: Michael Jordan's played in the league for a couple of years.
- 36:34Speaker 1: At him. Yeah, he's a big, strong guy. And how
- 36:37Speaker 1: do you choose like the really short underside guy over
- 36:40Speaker 1: that guy.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Yeah, here's and speaking of short or not having great size,
- 36:46Speaker 3: Jake Majors has something unfortunately that he he doesn't control
- 36:50Speaker 3: like he's got inter's of height. He's actually pretty tall
- 36:54Speaker 3: to be a center. It's just over six three sixty
- 36:56Speaker 3: three and and uh, let's see sixty three and three ace.
- 37:01Speaker 3: But here's where it gets to be a problem. Why
- 37:04Speaker 3: he wasn't drafted arms thirty and three. A's like, you're
- 37:08Speaker 3: not gonna make it like you're just that. That's a problem.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Like it when you've got when you're a center that's got.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Shorter than thirty two inch arms.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it's very hard to get draft unless you're just
- 37:17Speaker 3: a great football player, which he's not. He's a workman
- 37:20Speaker 3: like yep, as one coach told me, very workmanlike, hard worker, smart.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Tough, not an athlete.
- 37:31Speaker 3: You like having them as you're like third like he's
- 37:34Speaker 3: more of a practice squad player. But he's had such
- 37:36Speaker 3: a good camp, and so I was telling Andrew, I'm
- 37:38Speaker 3: not gonna completely roll him out.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Let's see what happened. He's got it.
- 37:41Speaker 3: He almost has to play perfect football and training camp
- 37:44Speaker 3: and in the preseason games.
- 37:46Speaker 2: The same with Willie Lampkin. Now, the good thing is
- 37:49Speaker 2: if you're whether offense or.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Defense, is we finish out offense of the questions and
- 37:54Speaker 3: the answers that we are giving you now, Like from
- 37:57Speaker 3: spots forty five to fifty free are open, there are
- 38:00Speaker 3: so many. There are a lot of jobs being competed for,
- 38:03Speaker 3: and there's a lot of open roster spaces now because
- 38:07Speaker 3: they just they had a lot of questions coming into
- 38:09Speaker 3: camp on both sides of the football. That the second
- 38:11Speaker 3: and third stringers are a lot of questions. Yeah, they're
- 38:14Speaker 3: still not being answered yet.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Absolutely. As you said transitioning to the defense, man, I
- 38:20Speaker 1: mean in the scrimmage, I watched just watching Jordan Davis
- 38:26Speaker 1: and Jill and Carter dominate the middle Like I didn't know.
- 38:29Speaker 1: It's like a catch straight through. I'm like, man, is
- 38:31Speaker 1: the interior offensive line really struggling? Oh wait, they're going
- 38:33Speaker 1: up against two of maybe the top five defense top
- 38:36Speaker 1: seven defensive tackles in the NFL. SO and Jordan Davis
- 38:39Speaker 1: looked really good even on a hot day. I mean,
- 38:42Speaker 1: if you were allowed to tackle to the ground or
- 38:45Speaker 1: allowed to hit the quarterback, you probably would have a
- 38:47Speaker 1: few big splash plays, especially on Sae Kwon Barkley. So
- 38:51Speaker 1: I get it that the defense looks amazing because they
- 38:54Speaker 1: have got the superior personnel out on the field. I
- 38:57Speaker 1: did see Mark oh Man, the linebackers at Jahad and
- 39:01Speaker 1: Zach Bond. They look so active, so fast, so quick
- 39:04Speaker 1: to the ball. I mean again, I'm not I don't
- 39:07Speaker 1: have to worry about long term projections of that training
- 39:10Speaker 1: care because I know these guys are already good and
- 39:11Speaker 1: have showed it on the field. But the symmetry there,
- 39:15Speaker 1: like Vic's starting to do different things. He was blitzing
- 39:17Speaker 1: a couple of different guys. He was coming late with
- 39:20Speaker 1: Trotter a few times. He came late with somebody. I like,
- 39:23Speaker 1: you could tell Vic knows he's very comfortable with what
- 39:25Speaker 1: he has out there.
- 39:27Speaker 2: A couple of things on the front seven. So Carter,
- 39:31Speaker 2: this is the best shape he's been in since he's
- 39:33Speaker 2: since he's been an eagle. He looks phenomenal, Like he
- 39:35Speaker 2: looks fit.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Daran Davis has been fit now for over two years,
- 39:40Speaker 3: you know, first two years very overweight, too big.
- 39:44Speaker 2: It looks great. You know he's got his contract. He
- 39:47Speaker 2: gets it. He gets what it's what you need you
- 39:49Speaker 2: to be a pro. He gets it. Like we're ready.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Not much to talk about the delon. We got what
- 39:55Speaker 2: we knew. Yeah, other than and We still don't know
- 39:57Speaker 2: about tyro Robinson. We just don't know.
- 39:59Speaker 3: He's just young's. The young's the first got off the bench.
- 40:02Speaker 3: He's not being competed against. The question is again with
- 40:05Speaker 3: ty Robinson as we set it up for training camp,
- 40:08Speaker 3: does he deserve to be on this football team yet
- 40:10Speaker 3: don't know that We may not know until early September.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Yeah. I think he's got to diversify some of his moves.
- 40:17Speaker 1: I know he has this big club move. He used
- 40:19Speaker 1: it once on his first rush in one on ones
- 40:21Speaker 1: and then it was well defended the second time, so
- 40:24Speaker 1: he did he did get some run with the second
- 40:28Speaker 1: defense in the game. I was I'm sorry the scrimmage
- 40:31Speaker 1: I was watching, he may have had a few first
- 40:32Speaker 1: team reps, so I think he think there's the coaches
- 40:35Speaker 1: are starting to see some improvement, but need to see
- 40:37Speaker 1: a little bit more there. And man, these linebackers, to me,
- 40:41Speaker 1: like when Jeremiah Trotter Junior's number three, you're in a
- 40:45Speaker 1: great spot because he continues to just do nearly everything
- 40:48Speaker 1: right and there's there's almost nothing left as far as
- 40:51Speaker 1: questions or answers that we need at that position. I
- 40:54Speaker 1: just wanted to know is Jahad, Campbell, Kenny step in
- 40:58Speaker 1: and do the things in the Kobe Dean did, and
- 41:01Speaker 1: some of that has still remained to be answered for
- 41:03Speaker 1: leadership and aligning, but there's no question the athletic gifts
- 41:07Speaker 1: are there to be a really good player, to set
- 41:09Speaker 1: the edge on defense when on they're running outside, or
- 41:12Speaker 1: to come down and blitz.
- 41:13Speaker 2: He can do that.
- 41:13Speaker 1: So he did that a few times. I mean, he's
- 41:15Speaker 1: got all the tools to be really good.
- 41:17Speaker 3: He's not as instinctive as Dean, right, that may or
- 41:20Speaker 3: may not come, but he before he got hurt last year,
- 41:24Speaker 3: it was starting to happen for him, and then you know,
- 41:26Speaker 3: he didn't get a shot back. When Nikobe got healthy,
- 41:30Speaker 3: Vic saw what he need to see in practice. He goes, hey,
- 41:32Speaker 3: we're going to go with the guy who's more ready,
- 41:33Speaker 3: which is hard to believe because but how much time
- 41:37Speaker 3: Dean missed. But Dean felt pretty good before they activate
- 41:39Speaker 3: him off of pup. So nevertheless, though Johd bothered, he
- 41:42Speaker 3: looks he also looks fit. He does not look to
- 41:45Speaker 3: forty fifty. He does not no not the way and
- 41:47Speaker 3: the way.
- 41:48Speaker 1: He flies around, he almost flies around like he's two ten.
- 41:50Speaker 2: It looks good.
- 41:51Speaker 3: Yeah, he looks good. The cool thing is our depth
- 41:55Speaker 3: is young. That no vested veterans of their death. Monin's
- 41:59Speaker 3: the second Your player really only played with special teams, Tritter.
- 42:02Speaker 3: We talked about, Yeah, who's who's Who's a player? And
- 42:05Speaker 3: Chance Campbell, who's my sleeper in the OTA as he
- 42:08Speaker 3: looks good man, he's long, athletic.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Put him, put him on your mo Yeah, no, he said,
- 42:16Speaker 2: he said, don't yah. I know what he meant. I
- 42:18Speaker 2: know what Vic meant when he said that. I was
- 42:19Speaker 2: kind of surprised. Vic fools sometimes, right, when do you
- 42:23Speaker 2: think you wouldn't talk about something like that. It's hard
- 42:25Speaker 2: to keep five.
- 42:26Speaker 3: They they did keep five last year, but they were
- 42:28Speaker 3: five players that they vested money into or drafted. Yeah,
- 42:31Speaker 3: this is different. Chance Campbell was not drafted by them.
- 42:34Speaker 3: They put no money into the guy. So but we'll
- 42:37Speaker 3: see what happens. But that's the front seven. No real
- 42:39Speaker 3: big surprises that the edges are what we thought. Grenard
- 42:42Speaker 3: unfortunately has hurt joke, looks like an absolute stud. He's
- 42:46Speaker 3: he's the breakout star like he's been our guy since
- 42:48Speaker 3: he was drafted. We told folks that he should have
- 42:53Speaker 3: been drafted the third round.
- 42:54Speaker 2: He was.
- 42:56Speaker 3: I thought he I thought what he's doing now would
- 42:58Speaker 3: be next year. I didn't think he this would become
- 43:00Speaker 3: so quickly. Yep, it's pretty cool man.
- 43:03Speaker 1: It's uh, guy's got a year ahead of since his
- 43:06Speaker 1: rookie year.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much incrementally.
- 43:09Speaker 3: Yes, When and and Nolan Smith, I know you and
- 43:12Speaker 3: Andrew talked about him, that was a folks.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Big focus of your Saturday show.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes place.
- 43:18Speaker 2: You know, it's Hunt.
- 43:21Speaker 3: If Hunt doesn't start, we need an investigation. That's kind
- 43:24Speaker 3: of where I'm at with this one. It's not even
- 43:26Speaker 3: it's not even like remotely close.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Yeah. And he's good against the run too. It's not
- 43:30Speaker 1: like you need to play Smith is a good run defender. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 43:34Speaker 1: and with look, I think Smith's got great athletic traits.
- 43:38Speaker 1: There's no question about it. It's not like he's uh invisible, uh.
- 43:42Speaker 1: In the practice I was watching, I just think I'd
- 43:44Speaker 1: like to see a little bit more refinement as a
- 43:46Speaker 1: pass rusher instead of just the speed around the edge
- 43:49Speaker 1: all the time. Just some hand usage because he's gonna
- 43:52Speaker 1: get studied and he needs to just figure out better
- 43:54Speaker 1: ways to get to the quarterback when he's getting ridden
- 43:57Speaker 1: outside the circle.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I was the other before we moved to the secondary.
- 44:02Speaker 2: I was a little skeptical of the h Apanes society.
- 44:05Speaker 2: I mean I did I explain what it was going
- 44:07Speaker 2: to look like.
- 44:07Speaker 3: It's what I thought. If he makes a team short
- 44:13Speaker 3: yardage defensive tackle nicole de tackle if you need him to,
- 44:18Speaker 3: if you want to try something different, He's just so.
- 44:20Speaker 3: He's so tall and long. I just don't see the ball.
- 44:23Speaker 2: They say to eighty. There's no way in hell he's
- 44:25Speaker 2: too eighty.
- 44:26Speaker 1: No way. Yeah, he doesn't look too eighty.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Listen, I'm like, get it. He must be too. They
- 44:31Speaker 2: must confused a six with an eight.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt about it. Hey, Philly fans, game day
- 44:38Speaker 1: is stressful enough. Parking, traffic, long lines, We've all been there.
- 44:42Speaker 1: But when it comes to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes
- 44:46Speaker 1: it easy. This is the dispensary for sports fans, just
- 44:50Speaker 1: minutes outside of Philly, with plenty of free parking. You'll
- 44:54Speaker 1: be in and out fast, no hassle, no waiting, and
- 44:57Speaker 1: they don't just care about convenience. Cam Pothacarry is all
- 45:01Speaker 1: about the guest experience. Their staff makes sure you feel
- 45:05Speaker 1: taken care of every time you walk in. Plus, they

- 45:19Speaker 1: good stuff without overpaying. They even show love to the
- 45:22Speaker 1: community with specials for fans, students, service members, and healthcare pros.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Cammed in Apothecary, top quality cannabis, great prices, and an
- 45:32Speaker 1: experience made for Philly fans twenty one and up. All
- 45:36Speaker 1: right in the secondary, you know, Marcus Epsa started next
- 45:40Speaker 1: to Cooper de Gen and Base, which is you know
- 45:42Speaker 1: what we expected it was, but I did see. You know,
- 45:45Speaker 1: Michael Carter is making it interesting. You heard Vic say
- 45:47Speaker 1: that he had a nice PBu on what was a
- 45:51Speaker 1: good pass from from Hurts to Wix, but Carter had
- 45:54Speaker 1: a step on it and broke it, you know, batted
- 45:57Speaker 1: it away. He's he's all over the field too. It's
- 46:00Speaker 1: gonna be fun. It's a good competition there. It is
- 46:04Speaker 1: sounds by the way, it sounded like Vic said, no
- 46:06Speaker 1: matter what, they're gonna figure out a way to get
- 46:09Speaker 1: Michael Carter on the field. Like you might see more
- 46:11Speaker 1: dime this year.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Yeah, dime safety. He's been in dime safety already. I
- 46:14Speaker 2: noticed that like the first couple of days of camp,
- 46:16Speaker 2: this camp, the strain of camp.
- 46:19Speaker 3: So yeah, it honestly, you know how he did say
- 46:22Speaker 3: that there he said in OTAs when he spoke that
- 46:25Speaker 3: they're gonna add a veteran safety or safety even say veteran.
- 46:27Speaker 2: But my understanding was they were looking at some veterans.
- 46:30Speaker 2: I don't.
- 46:31Speaker 3: I just don't see the point of it, because if
- 46:34Speaker 3: we because Degene is gonna play safety, well app's Macuba,
- 46:38Speaker 3: Degene and Carter.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Are your safeties?
- 46:40Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 46:41Speaker 3: So and was Nesky, but it's wiz Nesky Andrew is right.
- 46:44Speaker 3: I looked up the pronunciation guide was Nesky, not wasz Newski.
- 46:50Speaker 2: So he's gonna have a hard time making it, I do.
- 46:52Speaker 2: I just don't. I don't know, man.
- 46:53Speaker 3: It's you know, he's been hurt with hamstring. Yeah, missed
- 46:58Speaker 3: almost all OTAs with I believe the same. And we
- 47:00Speaker 3: were told it was a lower of body in drums.
- 47:02Speaker 3: It was the hams right, which he's dealing with now.
- 47:04Speaker 3: So that's not good man. He's got great size, just
- 47:08Speaker 3: not doesn't have great range. As Greg co Salt told
- 47:11Speaker 3: us from this tape study, Yeah, and Maxist Pulley's there,
- 47:14Speaker 3: So what what's the I could see if because typically
- 47:18Speaker 3: in this situation, you'd like to see what you have
- 47:20Speaker 3: first before you sign the veteran or some other player
- 47:22Speaker 3: right for that position. I don't see the point of
- 47:24Speaker 3: it unless they clearly think, you know, we're not good
- 47:27Speaker 3: enough here, we need added so and there are enough
- 47:30Speaker 3: guys out there, I mean, to make a trade makes
- 47:32Speaker 3: a zero sense because that guy's not gonna play well.
- 47:35Speaker 1: The trade, Yeah, I mean, I would think you can
- 47:37Speaker 1: get was was Nesky back on your practice squad if
- 47:40Speaker 1: you wind up partnering with.
- 47:41Speaker 2: Yeah, which is South round.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Yeah, he's not going to make an impact even if
- 47:45Speaker 1: even I mean just sort of like with Mikayle Lemon.
- 47:48Speaker 1: You know he's on the team. But if you missed
- 47:50Speaker 1: too much time in training camp, like Cooper to Gene
- 47:52Speaker 1: a couple of years ago, you might not be ready
- 47:55Speaker 1: for the start of the season. You know, you might.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Cooper didn't really play until week five of his rookie year.
- 48:00Speaker 1: You remember that he was first four weeks he was
- 48:02Speaker 1: he was really not being used because he had injured
- 48:05Speaker 1: his hamstring, right, Yeah, he missed too much time, So
- 48:09Speaker 1: that might be the case with Kayle Lemon will see.
- 48:10Speaker 1: But I mean, if you're a seventh round pick and
- 48:12Speaker 1: you missed too much time and can't like forget about.
- 48:14Speaker 3: It, well, miss four or five weeks. But what it
- 48:17Speaker 3: is is it's gonna help you. It's gonna limit your
- 48:19Speaker 3: playing time. Early coaches have to feel comfortable and Hurts
- 48:22Speaker 3: has got to feel comfortble he's going he's gonna be
- 48:24Speaker 3: We're supposed to be, right, you know, if time based offense,
- 48:27Speaker 3: he's got to be there.
- 48:28Speaker 2: And he's a slot receiver, so super important to this offense.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Mm hmmm.
- 48:32Speaker 3: And the thing is you can't I can't really get
- 48:35Speaker 3: a gauge of how much eleven personnel they're going to play.
- 48:37Speaker 3: All the Wicks has really played himself into if if
- 48:41Speaker 3: Lemon had not gotten hurt, Now what would Wicks be
- 48:43Speaker 3: doing this? Well, can't don't know that, right, but he's
- 48:47Speaker 3: been great and when Lemon gets healthy, he gives you
- 48:50Speaker 3: the ability to play a ton of eleven if they
- 48:52Speaker 3: wanted to, depending on like if you're going to get
- 48:53Speaker 3: the team, it's a terrible corner. You want to spread
- 48:55Speaker 3: them out, go heavy eleven, right, you know, but I
- 48:59Speaker 3: can't do that until you know what you.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Have true indeed, all right, so that that battle and
- 49:04Speaker 1: I'll just throw in uh. Jake Elliott made all of
- 49:07Speaker 1: his field goals in the scrimmage that I was at.
- 49:10Speaker 1: I think he's been pretty good. I mean, there's nobody
- 49:12Speaker 1: been brought into camp. So as we talk about special teams,
- 49:15Speaker 1: it's Jake Elliott and right now there's there's no as
- 49:18Speaker 1: long as he's making kicks, he's fine, and nobody's gonna
- 49:20Speaker 1: be brought into uh to challenge him.
- 49:22Speaker 2: So well, that's here's the thing I wanted. I want
- 49:25Speaker 2: to tell about Corners real quick in a second.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I forgot. I'm sorry.
- 49:29Speaker 3: Well they're telling you what they think is they guaranteed
- 49:31Speaker 3: all of his cash, right that all five million? Like
- 49:34Speaker 3: he took a small pack cup, but they guarantee all
- 49:36Speaker 3: his cash.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Yep.
- 49:37Speaker 3: I'm like, wow, Like that's such a would have done. Yeah,
- 49:41Speaker 3: I would have just guaranteed maybe half of it. Mh
- 49:44Speaker 3: and and and and brought in competition. But yeah, it
- 49:48Speaker 3: doesn't look like it's gonna happen.
- 49:50Speaker 1: Right, What do you want to say on corners?
- 49:52Speaker 2: You know?
- 49:52Speaker 1: Uh, yeah, I'm just trying to say it was Reek
- 49:55Speaker 1: at one corner, it was Quin. They're almost barely got
- 49:58Speaker 1: thrown at the U the practice that I was watched
- 50:01Speaker 1: that I watched.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so look, will looks really good. He looks fine.
- 50:04Speaker 2: He's just not getting tested a lot. Particularly.
- 50:07Speaker 3: I haven't seen WIX on him enough. But there are questions.
- 50:13Speaker 3: Jonathan Jones is thirty three and September, so that means
- 50:15Speaker 3: he's this thirty three ye old player. The fourth corner
- 50:17Speaker 3: they don't have one. Williams mac McWilliams is hasn't solidified
- 50:22Speaker 3: himself as that guy. Neither's Bennett Ambry Thomas makes it
- 50:25Speaker 3: play every now and then Ringo is obviously not it. Yeah,
- 50:29Speaker 3: Castro Fields, it's got good length of the former forty
- 50:33Speaker 3: nine er. I honestly you need a fourth corner because
- 50:38Speaker 3: what happens is if a starting gets hurt, that guy's
- 50:40Speaker 3: a third Yeah.
- 50:43Speaker 2: So true, true, they need to do that and they
- 50:45Speaker 2: need to figure it out.
- 50:46Speaker 3: And I was hoping we'd have an answer. We don't
- 50:48Speaker 3: have an answer. Like we answer just about all the things.
- 50:50Speaker 3: We have an answer and kind of know where everything's going,
- 50:53Speaker 3: don't know where the third I don't know where the
- 50:54Speaker 3: fourth corner is.
- 50:54Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 50:55Speaker 1: I think that the preseason games are really good for
- 50:58Speaker 1: two yeah, offense, and like to this point on just
- 51:03Speaker 1: how Marquise Brown has not really done a whole lot
- 51:05Speaker 1: of this camp. Well, now that I think about it,
- 51:07Speaker 1: he's been running with the first team with DeVante Smith
- 51:10Speaker 1: not there and with Makai Lemon not there, right, so
- 51:12Speaker 1: he's basically being guarded every snap by either Riequoin or
- 51:17Speaker 1: Quinnon Mitchell. So maybe that's more of an Eagles defense
- 51:20Speaker 1: being really good than Marquise Brown not not being so good.
- 51:23Speaker 1: But it stands because these guys have been healthy, because
- 51:27Speaker 1: they've been out there, and because the gene still plays
- 51:30Speaker 1: a slot, we really haven't seen a whole lot of
- 51:32Speaker 1: those guys that you're talking about. Those debt guys get
- 51:35Speaker 1: a chance to show themselves against the first team competition.
- 51:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean the ones have been wix More and
- 51:43Speaker 3: Brown and some Cooper, right, but that's a far drop off.
- 51:49Speaker 2: From the smittee.
- 51:50Speaker 3: And then of course Lemon had he not gotten hurt,
- 51:52Speaker 3: because he's incredible in the short area physical, really good
- 51:56Speaker 3: short area quickness. Really haven't seen it since he's been
- 51:59Speaker 3: a net because he barely practiced in OTAs and he's
- 52:02Speaker 3: barely practicing training camp.
- 52:03Speaker 2: He's behind.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Man, it's you know, if you're for I know people
- 52:07Speaker 3: ask this fantasy stuff every once in a while, and
- 52:09Speaker 3: now I'll just for this season.
- 52:10Speaker 2: He's still draftable, but more for a dynasty league. Oh yeah,
- 52:14Speaker 2: he's He's just too.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Far behind to be a factor, especially early later in
- 52:19Speaker 3: the season. Sure, yeah, I still need him.
- 52:21Speaker 2: You need a snip receive, you know.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Yeah, even you know I had him, I didn't. I
- 52:26Speaker 1: don't have him riding to high only also because I
- 52:28Speaker 1: can't see him being a big red zone guy, you know,
- 52:31Speaker 1: because he's a shorter, middle of the field receiver guy.
- 52:34Speaker 1: So yeah, I can see him catching, you know, by
- 52:36Speaker 1: the end of the year. I can see if he
- 52:37Speaker 1: gets himself to six or seven targets you know, per
- 52:41Speaker 1: game category, But what does that look like? Five for
- 52:44Speaker 1: fifty five? You know what I'm saying, Like, I just
- 52:46Speaker 1: he's not gonna be a guy. I think he's gonna
- 52:47Speaker 1: find the end zone a whole lot, but I could
- 52:48Speaker 1: be wrong.
- 52:49Speaker 3: We'll see yeah, yeah, no, it's just gonna And then
- 52:53Speaker 3: before we get out of here, I forgot to talk
- 52:54Speaker 3: about this guy, because I'm looking at my notes here.
- 52:56Speaker 3: My my favorite training camp sleeper is John Ojuku. That's
- 53:01Speaker 3: how you pronounce it for the pronounce pronounciation.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Guy, yep. Adjuku has been a story like he He
- 53:07Speaker 2: has been the backup left tackle quite a bit. And
- 53:10Speaker 2: it's interesting because Boise, he was a left tackle the Titans.
- 53:16Speaker 2: It's weird.
- 53:16Speaker 3: He started like six games, but five more as an
- 53:19Speaker 3: off a jumbo offensive lineman. One true start. We played
- 53:22Speaker 3: all the.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Snaps, but that was a right tackle yep, the Titans.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Yep.
- 53:27Speaker 3: So this kid has looked good. He's an athlete. He
- 53:31Speaker 3: was at the Combine, which is interesting. He wasn't drafted,
- 53:34Speaker 3: Like that's rare to go to the Combine and not
- 53:36Speaker 3: be drafted.
- 53:39Speaker 2: So at a Boise.
- 53:40Speaker 3: But he's he's been a player so far. And Fred
- 53:43Speaker 3: Johnson's on a one year deal. They don't know who
- 53:45Speaker 3: their swinging tackle is after the season.
- 53:48Speaker 1: That's right. Uh he got bumped down the practice only
- 53:51Speaker 1: because Lane Johnson was back. So that's Fred and Marcel
- 53:54Speaker 1: a second team and then bumped yeah uh so yeah, yeah,
- 53:58Speaker 1: we'll say again another thing where preseason tape will be
- 54:01Speaker 1: really really essential for him.
- 54:02Speaker 3: But he's looked good though. He he's worth keeping an
- 54:05Speaker 3: eye on. I know people ask about Holland Pierce. It's
- 54:09Speaker 3: I mean, I'd be shocked if he made the team.
- 54:10Speaker 3: Never never say never.
- 54:11Speaker 2: But as we've said for nine years, but that's pretty
- 54:14Speaker 2: much shit. That's pretty much it.
- 54:16Speaker 1: I'll just say Cole Payton is fun to watch. He's
- 54:19Speaker 1: a ball of energy as a quarterback. I didn't really
- 54:22Speaker 1: I knew he was not very tall, but it really
- 54:25Speaker 1: stands out watching him. I woulder if he's listed at
- 54:29Speaker 1: that but not six two. He just didn't not look
- 54:32Speaker 1: six two to me.
- 54:34Speaker 3: He do one.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but he's small, stocky, gets the I think the
- 54:40Speaker 1: fast pace of the offense, like when they were running
- 54:42Speaker 1: like a two minute roll with him, that benefits him
- 54:44Speaker 1: because he's just like he's very frenetic. He did throw
- 54:47Speaker 1: an interception, which he's been doing a little bit, but
- 54:49Speaker 1: he also made some good throws in the one series
- 54:51Speaker 1: that he got. He's just fun to watch. I mean,
- 54:52Speaker 1: he's not there's nothing to say about him other than
- 54:55Speaker 1: I enjoy it. He just looked like a ball of
- 54:57Speaker 1: energy out there.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Well, he's actually hit combine heights two and five days.
- 55:01Speaker 3: He's Yeah, but he's he looks like he's built like Tebow.
- 55:04Speaker 3: Ironically he's a lefty, and he threw a shot. But yeah, Peyton, like,
- 55:09Speaker 3: every once in a while, you go, wow, that's a
- 55:10Speaker 3: great throw. Then the mechanics catch up with him and
- 55:13Speaker 3: it makes a guy wh's got a strong arm look
- 55:15Speaker 3: like he's got the pencil for it arm. Yeah, the
- 55:17Speaker 3: ball doesn't come out right and it flutters and it
- 55:20Speaker 3: looks really bad. He just needs major work on mechanics.
- 55:23Speaker 3: He's just, yeah, so far away from being an NFL
- 55:26Speaker 3: quarterback that's been developed.
- 55:28Speaker 1: But he was a fifth round pick, right right, you're
- 55:30Speaker 1: after right, because he threw a couple of twenty yard
- 55:32Speaker 1: or mid range that had real zip. I'm like, oh,
- 55:35Speaker 1: he definitely has an arm. It's just that when he
- 55:37Speaker 1: throws deep, he must be mechanically unsound and that's what
- 55:40Speaker 1: makes it kind of die every once in a while. Yeah,
- 55:42Speaker 1: So all right, good stuff, good stuff, Big week ahead,
- 55:45Speaker 1: big week, more practices. The Eagles will get back on
- 55:47Speaker 1: the practice field. Monday and Tuesday, I believe, are the
- 55:52Speaker 1: days that they practice, and then they've got the twelfth off.
- 55:56Speaker 1: Then they practice at thirteenth. Fourteenth is off because it's
- 55:59Speaker 1: the day before their preseason game in Baltimore against the Ravens.
- 56:04Speaker 1: That's in Baltimore, right.
- 56:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, it's actually yeah, they practice today, Monday, Tomorrow
- 56:08Speaker 3: and Tuesday walk through, Wednesday, Thursday practice.
- 56:12Speaker 2: I'll be there.
- 56:12Speaker 3: That's a light one. That'll be a light one Friday
- 56:15Speaker 3: to walkthrough. Then they leave later the afternoon to to
- 56:17Speaker 3: I don't know if they fly. I don't know why
- 56:19Speaker 3: they would fly. It's ridiculous, but maybe they do it
- 56:21Speaker 3: dulls yeah or I don't know, no, I mean to
- 56:24Speaker 3: whatever the the bwy anyway, Yeah, but anyway, Yeah, it's
- 56:29Speaker 3: Saturday at Baltimore. Or Andrew Decheco will be on the scene,
- 56:32Speaker 3: as he told me, so look forward to seeing what
- 56:35Speaker 3: he has to say in here.
- 56:36Speaker 1: And we all will have more reports this week from
- 56:39Speaker 1: camp on Inside the Bird. That's going to do it
