- 0:02Welcome to Formula Fanatics, the high octane subseries of break Fix podcasts,
- 0:06drive through Motorsports News.
- 0:09This is your pit stop or all things formula one from breaking
- 0:12headlines and race recaps to insider analysis and paddock buzz.
- 0:16Whether you are a diehard to foso, a Red Bull loyalist, or just love
- 0:20the thrill of wheel to wheel racing.
- 0:21We've got you covered with up to date F1 News delivered at full throttle.
- 0:25Strap in because the lights are out and we're underway.
- 0:28This is formula fanatics.
- 0:40What's going on?
- 0:41I love the hat.
- 0:42It's like chain links, but also Audi, the, the whole get up.
- 0:46Right.
- 0:46Tanya was asking me, she's like, well, what's the DI said, I gotta play the part.
- 0:49She's like, the part of what?
- 0:50I said Audi and F1.
- 0:52Is that the part?
- 0:52Yeah.
- 0:52Right.
- 0:52I got, I play the part of the Disappointed fan, but I got the swag.
- 0:56Now is the time, buy your swag low and sell it lower later because
- 1:01it's gonna be worth anything.
- 1:02Yeah.
- 1:03So you buy your cyber truck deposit at a hundred dollars and
- 1:06then you sell it later at $0.
- 1:09It's like Matt used to always say the resale value of an Audi is written
- 1:13right across the hood of the car.
- 1:15Right.
- 1:15It's all zeros.
- 1:17All zeros.
- 1:19Well, we'll, we'll get into that as we go along, even though you don't like the
- 1:22title, but it's okay because our fans, I'm never gonna live that down, am I?
- 1:26That's just No, you're not.
- 1:27That's, that's, that's just.
- 1:28You know what?
- 1:29Fine.
- 1:29Then I'm gonna double down.
- 1:30Yeah.
- 1:30The title sucks.
- 1:33Welcome to the Formula One show where the title sucks, but the content is okay,
- 1:39and that's just good enough.
- 1:42Yes, that's the formula of mediocrity.
- 1:46Drive, drive to the middle.
- 1:48That's a medium base drive to exist.
- 1:53That's the new Adam Sandler hit single there.
- 1:55Yeah.
- 1:55Formula medium.
- 1:56The medium formula.
- 1:59Um, all right, now we can talk about formula.
- 2:01Uh, do we have any updates from the last time we got together?
- 2:07Well, we have deliveries coming out for each of the cars.
- 2:11That's in February though, right?
- 2:13No, well, Cadillacs is in February.
- 2:15They're doing theirs.
- 2:17During the Super Bowl, I think.
- 2:19Ooh, that, that makes sense.
- 2:20That's cool.
- 2:20But like Red Bulls already revealed theirs and it looks exactly
- 2:24the same as the other years.
- 2:25It's really, it's like the shade of blue change subtly or something.
- 2:29Wow.
- 2:29Like it's super hard to tell, have I, or have I not said that?
- 2:32The cars look the same every year.
- 2:34They're actually smaller an inch.
- 2:37Does not make those things smaller.
- 2:39No, they're more than an inch.
- 2:41Like when you put 'em side by side, they're more to whatever the era of the
- 2:45cars was before these, but not, we're not talking Sena era small like those were.
- 2:50No, of course not.
- 2:51Because those are like go-karts in comparison to what the trucks
- 2:54that are on track these days.
- 2:56So, okay, so they're gonna reveal deliveries and the
- 2:58look of the new car, right?
- 3:00I mean, it's, it's always gonna be a formula car, so the wings will
- 3:02be slightly different, but I mean, we're not going back to the high
- 3:05noses of the 1990s with Schumacher.
- 3:08Remember the, I always thought those looked super cool with,
- 3:10uh, the high nose Ferraris.
- 3:11Remember those in the renos and stuff of like the mid to late nineties?
- 3:15I thought those were always super cool.
- 3:16You know, we have better aerodynamics now, I guess, apparently, whatever.
- 3:20So I guess we'll have to see what they look like, but.
- 3:22I thought this was funny.
- 3:23So take us back, Tanya, because I could be accused of being a Formula
- 3:26One hater, but I've been following Formula One since I was in diapers.
- 3:30There's been dark periods in Formula One for me, where I just
- 3:32kind of didn't care, you know?
- 3:34And I didn't wanna watch it because, you know, certain dynasties had ended,
- 3:37like Schumacher had retired finally.
- 3:39Or, you know, the Sena Pros thing was over, or whatever it is.
- 3:42So now I'm, I'm getting back into it.
- 3:43I've never really stopped following.
- 3:46I don't follow it as hard as I did this last year and this year.
- 3:50Right?
- 3:51So bring me up to speed, BOTAs.
- 3:54His first race with Cadillac.
- 3:56He hasn't been in the driver's seat for like a couple of years.
- 3:59He's gonna serve a five second penalty.
- 4:01He is what is going on Because he could not serve it 'cause he got a penalty for
- 4:06an incident with Magnusson Magnusson at Abu Dhabi, the last race of his season.
- 4:13But he did not serve the time penalty.
- 4:16So the time penalty apparently in the rules just sits there and is it is
- 4:20to be served at the next race, which he retired and now his next race is
- 4:26coming up and the penalty gets to be served even though they apparently are
- 4:31changing that rule this year, and so that the penalties expire after 12 months.
- 4:37So basically, had they already enacted that rule, he would've been.
- 4:42Back to zero penalty points because he is been out for over a year, which I don't
- 4:46understand why they don't just freaking make an exception and apply it to him now.
- 4:51Like what's the point?
- 4:52I mean, at the end of the day, he's gonna have a five second penalty.
- 4:54It is probably gonna make no difference to the outcome.
- 4:59Are you seeing the Cadillac's not gonna last or it's not gonna matter?
- 5:02Overall, the first race of the season is probably gonna be a cluster for everybody.
- 5:09Yeah.
- 5:10Bull's gonna win.
- 5:11I doubt that the Cadillac's gonna be vying for one and two
- 5:14and then a five second penalty.
- 5:16Suddenly they're, you know, down in 10th place, they're gonna be in 14th and
- 5:21stay down there with Alonzo and Stroll.
- 5:24So it's all good.
- 5:24I got, I got it.
- 5:25I, so the first race of the year, so Australia, right, so down Adelaide, I
- 5:30don't see Red Bull winning either because they got a new power plant from Ford.
- 5:34I think McLaren's gonna come out swinging.
- 5:35Oh.
- 5:36And it's gonna be an Oscar.
- 5:39Because.
- 5:40Red Bull and Mercedes got cheater motors.
- 5:42They got approved those.
- 5:43They got approved.
- 5:44Yes.
- 5:45Their hack or their little gray area trick for the compression of the motors.
- 5:50It's all good.
- 5:51So Red Bull and Mercedes have skated whatever this line in the rule
- 5:56book is on the engine compression.
- 5:58So yeah, but once everybody else catches up, then it's a lot.
- 6:02We have BOP again.
- 6:04Well the first race.
- 6:05They'll be ahead.
- 6:07And what's Snuffleupagus going to complain about in that race?
- 6:10Who Snuffleupagus?
- 6:12The one with the eyelashes?
- 6:14Oh God.
- 6:14George Russell.
- 6:19Russell Leus.
- 6:20Russell Leus.
- 6:21Ah, we coined something new.
- 6:24I don't know.
- 6:25I'm sure he'll find something.
- 6:26Something to complain.
- 6:28Antonelli.
- 6:28I'm still very hopeful for Antonelli this year.
- 6:31I think he's going to come out swinging now.
- 6:33I don't know.
- 6:34I don't know.
- 6:34He got through his rookie year.
- 6:36He's at least driven the tracks once now.
- 6:38Yeah, exactly.
- 6:39Exactly.
- 6:41I'm sure he is done some off season training and all that kind of stuff.
- 6:44Kimmy Antonelli, I'm not saying he's gonna be the champion, but I think he's
- 6:47gonna be consistently up in the front.
- 6:49Probably more so than, than Russell will be.
- 6:51But I, you know, my Crystal Ball Australia.
- 6:55I'm thinking it's Oscar's race.
- 6:56I think McLaren's gonna be at the front.
- 6:58I think everybody else is gonna have a lot of bugs to work out, which is
- 7:01gonna be good for teams like Haas, which didn't really change a whole lot.
- 7:04And they changed their car at the end of last season, so they're probably
- 7:07gonna carry over some of the stuff that we saw, which was good because
- 7:10they were making really good progress.
- 7:12And I think beer.
- 7:13Is somebody to watch in 2026.
- 7:15I think he's gonna make good progress.
- 7:16Now, I'm not saying that what's his nuts isn't a good driver, but I think
- 7:20Beerman is, is the guy to watch out for.
- 7:24Who's what?
- 7:24It's nuts.
- 7:25The guy that wrecks everybody.
- 7:26What is, I can't even think of his name right now.
- 7:28Ocon?
- 7:28Yes, Ocon.
- 7:32You gotta be more specific.
- 7:34I gotta get back in the Formula One groove.
- 7:36Well, I need, well, I had to snuffle off a guess and then what?
- 7:39It's nuts.
- 7:39I got it.
- 7:40Now I know it's all code names until they're revealed when their cars come out.
- 7:44You see, that's how, that's how we gotta go here.
- 7:47All right, so I'm, I'm wearing the whole Audi thing, you know?
- 7:51Do Audi fans have like a name like the Ferrari, the Zy, right?
- 7:56I mean, like, it's a thing.
- 7:57Okay.
- 7:58Who are Audi fans?
- 8:00I don't know because New age Audi people.
- 8:05I'll just make a face.
- 8:06I'll just make a face and not say what I wanna say.
- 8:09And so it would just be real.
- 8:11Audi fans are all the old school Audi people, right?
- 8:13Maybe they're the meh.
- 8:15Just call them the meh.
- 8:17Whenever I think of Audi fans, I think of that video I posted from
- 8:22Instagram of the guy on the eighties dating tape where he is talking about
- 8:26how he's trying to pick up a woman.
- 8:27And he said, and I also drive an Audi.
- 8:29Oh, man.
- 8:31Oh, see, I, I thought I heard you wrong there.
- 8:33You said Audi fans, right?
- 8:34Is that, is that what you, is how she says that?
- 8:38Yes.
- 8:38Not, not Anys.
- 8:39Audis.
- 8:40Oh, oh, oh, okay.
- 8:40Yeah.
- 8:41Yeah.
- 8:42So there's been a bunch of propaganda, I'm gonna call it
- 8:45that, coming from the Audi Club.
- 8:47And it's like, you know, nonstop about Audi Formula One, which is
- 8:51obvious if you're part of the club.
- 8:52That's what there is to talk about right now.
- 8:54And so this one article that came through, because we're all kind of
- 8:57scratching our head right again.
- 8:59Why did they choose Kinberg?
- 9:00Why are they sticking with these drivers?
- 9:03You know, they are a world class motor sports team.
- 9:06Every time they've gone into a discipline of racing, they've dominated whether it
- 9:11was imsa, whether it was Rally, whether it was lama, you know, so on and line.
- 9:14So Formula One is the new mountain that they want to climb.
- 9:19You know this article comes out, Audi's 2026, formula one, vision,
- 9:22patience, progress, no instant results.
- 9:25And so you read all this Nah.
- 9:27Edging themselves already.
- 9:28Yeah, they already are.
- 9:29They're making excuses.
- 9:31They haven't even turned the first lap in 15th position and saying,
- 9:36here, I love this last line.
- 9:38We have faith in Audi and what they can do, let's not get discouraged.
- 9:43If they are not battling at the front, their time will come.
- 9:47But they have some lessons to learn first, and I'm like spoken
- 9:51like a true, disappointed fan.
- 9:54How do you go in to a season already like we're losers.
- 10:00What I don't understand is they're not gonna be in the sport long
- 10:03enough to see themselves as winners.
- 10:05'cause they're gonna pull out at some point, like within the next couple years,
- 10:08just 'cause they're gonna lose funding.
- 10:10The money is so great to be at the level of Ferrari, McLaren,
- 10:14even Ferrari's not doing great, but Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes,
- 10:18red Bull and all that to be there.
- 10:20You, you gotta shell out.
- 10:21And I, I get that there's a spending cap, but I'm sure there's
- 10:24loopholes to the spending cap.
- 10:26Right?
- 10:26I mean it's like whatever.
- 10:29I think the bigger problem.
- 10:31So what, what was it that, where did you read that?
- 10:33Because I don't see, it must have been the other article.
- 10:35'cause I didn't see any of that.
- 10:36It's the, it's the very first one.
- 10:37It's at the bottom.
- 10:38The very first one at the bottom.
- 10:39I swear to God.
- 10:40I don't see what you, the one with the guy who looks like Egon Spangler.
- 10:43Yeah, that's Otto.
- 10:44He is moron.
- 10:45That was heading Ferrari.
- 10:47And they booted him.
- 10:48Yeah.
- 10:48Well he's at Audi now, so that's gonna be the same.
- 10:50More of the same.
- 10:51Yeah.
- 10:52He's on a sinking ship.
- 10:54It's at the bottom.
- 10:54It's the, it's under the very last picture is where they were saying
- 10:57they were giving the final excuses.
- 10:59Well, no, you said something, there was something you said about how.
- 11:03They've got the ability or something.
- 11:05So I I, I don't mean to come across as I have faith in what they can do too.
- 11:10I don't have faith in what the two drivers they selected can do.
- 11:13Thank you for finally agreeing with me because I said that last year and it
- 11:18was like, I got these blank stares and I'm like, this was the wrong choice.
- 11:22They should have got bonus.
- 11:24Over Kinberg.
- 11:25Yes, BOR, Leto, Bline.
- 11:28It's not gonna do it.
- 11:30People keep saying he's the one to look at.
- 11:32And I saw something the other day that said, I forget who it
- 11:35was that was commenting on him.
- 11:37It was someone else in F1 and it was like, he's so precise
- 11:42and every lap is precision.
- 11:44Precision.
- 11:44He doesn't make a mistake.
- 11:45I'm like, motherfucker wreck.
- 11:46How many times he doesn't make a mistake though?
- 11:51Get the fuck out.
- 11:52Yeah, he, uh, yeah, I, I can't remember how many times he
- 11:55put it in the wall last year.
- 11:56And where did he come in points versus, uh, the other rookies, hoop emoji.
- 12:00Maybe he has potential, but you could say that about any of the guys that
- 12:03are stepping into a Formula One.
- 12:05Carl, obviously they have potential.
- 12:07You know what I also like about this picture of Egon and the other Audi
- 12:12guys, you know, the, the Audi guys showed up with suits, basically,
- 12:15you know, no tie open collar.
- 12:17Did he just like roll up in a Fiat Brava and like.
- 12:20Get out from, you know, drinking a cappuccino.
- 12:23Does somebody forget to dress him?
- 12:25Like, what is going on in this press picture?
- 12:28It's so bizarre.
- 12:30He is got like corduroy pants on.
- 12:31He gone.
- 12:32Alright, so the next article that came across over the winter break,
- 12:36this wasn't even that long ago.
- 12:38It's basically Audi whining and complaining and
- 12:41starting on the engine wars.
- 12:43They're already saying, you know, basically they're on the back foot.
- 12:46Like you had an entire year to develop your power plant.
- 12:50You're the only one coming to the table with a new power plant that you designed
- 12:55in house, and that's totally fine.
- 12:56I have no problem with that.
- 12:58But don't start complaining that, oh, Ferrari or uh, Mercedes.
- 13:02Ford is also coming to the table with a brand new power plant
- 13:05that they've been working on.
- 13:06So I would say you're on a level playing field.
- 13:08You're not really on the back foot to anybody in that respect.
- 13:11Where did these articles say that?
- 13:12There's another one that talks about the engine wars and they
- 13:15were complaining about, like you were talking about with the, the
- 13:18Mercedes and the compression thing.
- 13:20You know, the little loophole.
- 13:21It's like, well, the loophole's there for everybody.
- 13:23No.
- 13:23'cause Ari's bitching about it too.
- 13:25Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:26Right.
- 13:26Well, they got a lot of things to complain about.
- 13:29My God.
- 13:30Yeah.
- 13:30See Audi calls for clarity on 2026 Power Unit rules.
- 13:34Yeah.
- 13:34They wanna know if they can cheat too.
- 13:36Ridiculous.
- 13:37I say let them build whatever they want as long as they meet power to
- 13:42weight and whatever aerodynamic print.
- 13:44If you wanna do a flat 12 diesel single turbo, go ahead and build it.
- 13:49I don't care.
- 13:50Do what you want.
- 13:52Well, here's the thing.
- 13:53So the new cars are all about, again, the stupid energy thing, right?
- 13:57And then the battery power and this, that, and the other.
- 14:02Howdy already knows how to do this.
- 14:04Yeah.
- 14:04So why are they just sandbagging?
- 14:07Because they shouldn't be that far on the back foot.
- 14:09The e-tron is already a hybrid.
- 14:11Right?
- 14:11Exactly.
- 14:12And they were going to be supplying those mgus to Formula One a couple of
- 14:16years ago, so they must have already known what's up and what to build
- 14:20and, and the specification, again, it's not like they did it overnight.
- 14:23Unlike Cadillac, where I hate to say everything is like hand-me-downs, right?
- 14:27And I mean, you can argue this, that and the other thing, but they've got
- 14:31Ferrari power plants and the chassis, I gotta confirm whether it's theirs or not.
- 14:35It's probably a Dara or whatever it is provided to them.
- 14:39And so yes, the team is gm, but they're starting in a totally different world.
- 14:42It's all borrowed stuff until they can finalize.
- 14:45Their power plant, which will be some push rod V eight out of
- 14:48whatever in this formula one car.
- 14:51I mean, I skimmed through this, you're taking a very negative spin on it and,
- 14:55and saying that they're just poo-pooing on themselves and already saying they're crap
- 14:59and I don't get that from this article.
- 15:00Yeah, they, the article talks about the compression ratio clarity and
- 15:04basically saying every other engine builder is questioning what it is.
- 15:08Since Mercedes and Red Bull have allegedly figured out a cheat around.
- 15:12They dropped from 18 to 16, but somehow they can still
- 15:15hit 18 turbo turbos or more.
- 15:19So then what?
- 15:19But then where are they measuring the compression ratio?
- 15:22I'm so legitimate question.
- 15:23Right?
- 15:24I feel like when I read between the lines, we're building a case
- 15:29for why their drivers are not good.
- 15:31And so they can blame a lot of other things instead of saying, we chose
- 15:35the wrong drivers to come to the table with, well, if they do poorly
- 15:40and it's the engine, then they're scapegoating the drivers for it.
- 15:44'cause you can't have, like, basically they'd have to be hedging that they've
- 15:48built a crappy motor and they know it and then they're gonna scapegoat.
- 15:51Somebody else.
- 15:52Yes.
- 15:53That what you just described is in the annals of Ferrari history, especially
- 15:59when you go back to the Enzo era, there was never fault with the cars.
- 16:03It was always something else.
- 16:04And it's kind of funny how that still kind of rings true.
- 16:07Even today.
- 16:07It's like, yeah, we built a crap car.
- 16:09It's uncompetitive and they'll blame everything else on the
- 16:11planet except for the fact that the car's crap and it's slow.
- 16:14As we know, last year's cars were absolute garbage.
- 16:16I I, maybe I'm reading too much into it.
- 16:18Because I am also coming off of, you know, studying all this other stuff and it's
- 16:22just like, Ugh, man, this reads too much.
- 16:25Like something that's already happened.
- 16:27Again, if we set it up now that it's like, well, the rules and this and
- 16:33that, and it was all against us.
- 16:35To Brad's point, when they run outta money, they can sort of
- 16:37back out gracefully and say, see, all the cards were against us.
- 16:41It was the cheating compression ratio.
- 16:44It was the this and that, and it was the blah, blah blah.
- 16:47Well, no, what's gonna happen is because the point that they make in the article
- 16:51about the fact that the, the car winning e-tron with its hybrid power plant.
- 16:56That they should be able to use that technology in another series that
- 16:59requires hybrid power plants, assuming that power plant's legal in Formula One.
- 17:05So are they gonna get thrown without, with unfair advantage again,
- 17:08because that's the Audi history.
- 17:10That is the way they do things.
- 17:12They do well, and then everybody goes unfair advantage.
- 17:15Yep.
- 17:16So it's like they sort of set themselves up at that point.
- 17:19But that e-tron system you described, that's where you're using the gas
- 17:23power to create electrical energy.
- 17:25That's that hybrid electric generator power thing.
- 17:28That's not what Formula one cars are.
- 17:30They're electronically assisted petrol engines.
- 17:33So it's like an electric turbo versus the way they wanted things.
- 17:37So Audi can't come in and say, FIA, we're Audi and we invented.
- 17:42Light and fire and everything else known to man of cars.
- 17:45That's revolutionary.
- 17:46And you need to do what we say.
- 17:49This is Formula One.
- 17:50It's a formula that people need to follow.
- 17:53So that's why I think they're sort of setting themselves up for failure by
- 17:58not wanting to play ball, if that's the direction they're gonna go.
- 18:01In this article that says nothing about them not playing ball, they've
- 18:04not said anything about them.
- 18:06Not playing ball.
- 18:07No, no.
- 18:07I'm speculating.
- 18:09Actually, the article says the advantage for the motors is
- 18:11Mercedes, red Bull, and Audi.
- 18:13Those are the teams that should have an advantage, should quote
- 18:16unquote, but Audi's got drivers.
- 18:19We're just gonna leave that dot, dot, dot.
- 18:21It'll be interesting to see how they do.
- 18:23'cause I don't think they're gonna, I think that's gonna be a problem.
- 18:27Yes.
- 18:28Again, when you look at the bottom half, because that's where they're
- 18:31gonna be, are they gonna be at the top end of the bottom half or are
- 18:35they gonna be fighting with Haas?
- 18:38Are they gonna be stuck behind Aston where, you know, Alonzo's just gonna
- 18:41put him behind him like he's always done because let's look at how Hulking Berg
- 18:45and Bor Colletto have raced against.
- 18:48Like Alonzo and the Haas teams or whatever like you.
- 18:51To your point, where did Board Leto end the year?
- 18:53Not that great.
- 18:54Kinberg, he got one podium last year and that the fluke at Silverstone, it
- 18:58took him how many years to get there and it was a rain race and half the field
- 19:02was wrecked out and the whole thing.
- 19:03And it's like they're never gonna get there.
- 19:06And then you've got Perez and BOTAs to contend with which veteran
- 19:10drivers in a new car, they're gonna have the advantage over these guys.
- 19:15New car.
- 19:16It like, ugh.
- 19:17I don't know.
- 19:18I don't know.
- 19:19I don't know.
- 19:19And if they get their pit strategy wrong, hopefully they've been pro,
- 19:22I mean, it's the Salur team, right?
- 19:23So I guess they should know how to do at least that part because if they
- 19:27suffer on pit strategy, they're over it.
- 19:29I don't know.
- 19:29Because Bono was in charge of Ferrari when they had their worst pits.
- 19:34Oh man.
- 19:35Of a season.
- 19:36It was when that guy was the team principal, so, oh boy.
- 19:40Well, the Audi merch.
- 19:42Is climbing.
- 19:43It's gonna be awesome.
- 19:45I mean, I'm super excited about that part and we have all sorts of really cool swag.
- 19:49So maybe we add this next bit of formula oneness to next
- 19:53year's holiday shopping list.
- 19:55Lego City adds Audi Formula one display truck with Audi Formula
- 19:59race car to their collection.
- 20:01I love this.
- 20:02I will have this.
- 20:03This is amazing.
- 20:04This isn't as cool as the Ferrari semi-truck that turned into like
- 20:08a pit stall thing that they had with the Ferrari Formula One cars.
- 20:11But this is really, really cool.
- 20:12I, I do think it's funny though that it's a flatbed and not a car carrier.
- 20:19Foreshadowing, you wanna be able to see the car on it.
- 20:22It's also not the speed champion size stuff.
- 20:24It's the littler ones, but I'm still okay with that.
- 20:26Well, if you want the speed champion size stuff, go ahead
- 20:29and put your pre-order now.
- 20:31'cause it ships on March 1st.
- 20:34What gonna have to get one?
- 20:35It's good stuff.
- 20:37Lego getting into the game.
- 20:38So what's interesting, formula One merch from last year I've noticed
- 20:43has started to be clearanced out at Walmart and Target and stuff like that.
- 20:46So if you're into that sort of thing, it's time to grab it because
- 20:49I guess all new stuff is coming 'cause deliveries are changing.
- 20:52That's also an indication.
- 20:53Maybe the cars are gonna look a little bit different.
- 20:56Because if Lego's gotta take everything back or get it off the shelves as
- 20:59clearance, 'cause they're gonna reissue, you know, 22, I guess it would be 11
- 21:03new cars, you know, in different colors and looks and all that kind of stuff.
- 21:06I guess there's new things coming, so I guess we have to wait and see.
- 21:10I will also add as we wrap out this Formula one segment for the month, but
- 21:15since we're talking about Formula One.
- 21:17I wanna give a shout out to fellow MPN, creator John
- 21:20Summers, the motoring historian.
- 21:22He got together with his co-host and longtime best friend, mark Gammy, to
- 21:26talk about the greatness of Schumacher.
- 21:28And so that episode dropped on January the fifth.
- 21:31So scroll back into our catalog and check out that episode as well.
- 21:35It's actually really, really good.
- 21:37They try to pack a lot in an hour.
- 21:39They were there watching, you know those races.
- 21:42They went to the races.
- 21:44They were Schumacher fans.
- 21:46In period, all that kind of stuff.
- 21:47And so they talk about, you know, what happened afterwards and
- 21:50Schumacher's legacy and what he was like personality wise on track.
- 21:53I thought it was a really well done episode.
- 21:55So John's done a lot of Senna stuff in the past.
- 21:58He's very much a fan of Senna as well, but it was nice to have
- 22:02something different to hear about.
- 22:03Not the old timey, old timey Formula one stuff, but it's like, oh, this
- 22:06is pretty modern, pretty current.
- 22:09He mentioned to me that he was gonna do some more Formula
- 22:12One history stuff, so maybe.
- 22:14You know, he could jump into something more modern.
- 22:15Talk about like the Vel era or something like that, you know, or even
- 22:18the early days of, of Lewis Hamilton.
- 22:20It would be kind of nice, you know, if Hamilton was to retire.
- 22:23I'm not saying he's going to anytime soon, but if he did, it'd be nice to kind of
- 22:26close that chapter and do a retrospective.
- 22:28He's been in Formula One for a long time, so I could see more, I don't wanna
- 22:31call them tribute episodes coming in the future, but it, it's cool when you
- 22:35historians, you know, sit down and sort of do that retrospective analysis and
- 22:39they can, you know, tell a nice story about what happened when, for those that.
- 22:42You know, may not have been there for it and Schumacher is still in our
- 22:46thoughts and prayers all the time.
- 22:47So that about wraps up Formula One, unless you have anything else, but we
- 22:51will pick up February with what's new.
