- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, January 28th.
- 0:11Wisdom for real life. Have you ever felt overwhelmed
- 0:14by how many voices are competing for your attention?
- 0:17Every scroll, every notification, every opinion
- 0:20seems to tell you who you should be, what you should want, and
- 0:23how you should live. It's noisy out there, and if
- 0:27you're not careful, you can end up drifting, following trends,
- 0:30chasing quick thrills, or making choices that feel good in the
- 0:33moment but leave you empty later.
- 0:35That's why Proverbs Chapter 9, verse 6 is such a clear
- 0:38invitation. It says leave your simple ways
- 0:41and live and walk in the way of insight.
- 0:44God isn't insulting anyone by calling them simple.
- 0:46He's calling us higher. He's saying there's more to life
- 0:49than reacting, copying, or coasting.
- 0:52Wisdom is an intentional choice. It's deciding to grow up
- 0:55spiritually, to think deeper, and to walk a path that actually
- 0:59leads somewhere good. Psalm 12 reminds us why that
- 1:02matters so much. Verse 6 says the words of the
- 1:05Lord are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the
- 1:09ground, purified 7 times. People's words can be
- 1:12unreliable. Promises get broken, advice
- 1:15changes, influencers contradict themselves.
- 1:18But God's word is different. It's tested, refined, and
- 1:21trustworthy. When everything else feels
- 1:24shaky, God's word stays solid. It doesn't manipulate.
- 1:28It doesn't exaggerate. It tells the truth even when the
- 1:31truth is uncomfortable because it's meant to lead you to life.
- 1:34Then Jesus brings it home. In Matthew chapter 25, He
- 1:38explains that what you do with what God has given you actually
- 1:41matters. He says for to everyone who has
- 1:44will more be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the
- 1:47one who has, not even what He has will be taken away.
- 1:51That's not about favoritism, it's about stewardship.
- 1:54God gives each of us time, gifts, opportunities, and
- 1:57influence. When we use them wisely, even in
- 2:00small ways, He grows them. But when we ignore them, waste
- 2:03them, or bury them out of fear or distraction, we miss out on
- 2:07what could have been. Wisdom for real life isn't about
- 2:10having all the answers. It's about choosing the right
- 2:13voice. It's about trusting God's Word
- 2:15over the noise, choosing growth over comfort, and using what you
- 2:19already have instead of waiting for something bigger or easier.
- 2:22A wise life isn't built overnight.
- 2:25It's built through daily decisions to listen, to trust,
- 2:28and to act in faith. You don't have to be the
- 2:30loudest, the fastest, or the trendiest to live well.
- 2:33You just have to be willing to walk an insight, trust God's
- 2:36Word and be faithful with what's in front of you In a noisy
- 2:40world. Wisdom leads you to a life that
- 2:42lasts. Let's pray.
- 2:44Heavenly Father, thank you for offering me wisdom in the middle
- 2:47of so much noise. Help me leave behind shallow
- 2:50ways of thinking and walk and insight that leads to life.
- 2:53Teach me to trust Your word as pure and unchanging and give me
- 2:57the courage to use what You've already placed in my hands.
- 3:00I want to live with purpose, faith and focus, honoring You in
- 3:03every choice I make in Jesus name, Amen.

- 4:26Bible reading plan. Proverbs Chapter 9, verses 1 to
- 4:3112 World English Bible Wisdom has built her house.
- 4:35She has carved out her seven pillars.
- 4:37She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine.
- 4:40She has also set her table. She has sent out her maidens.
- 4:44She cries from the highest places of the city.
- 4:46Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.
- 4:49As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
- 4:52come eat some of my bread, drink some of the wine which I have
- 4:55mixed. Leave your simple ways and live.
- 4:58Walk in the way of understanding.
- 5:00One who corrects A mocker invites insult.
- 5:03One who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.
- 5:06Don't reprove A scoffer, lest he hate you.
- 5:08Reprove a wise person and he will love you.
- 5:11Instruct a wise person and he will be still wiser.
- 5:14Teach a righteous person and he will increase in learning.
- 5:18The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.
- 5:20The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
- 5:23For by me your days will be multiplied, the years of your
- 5:26life will be increased. If you are wise, you are wise
- 5:29for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear
- 5:32it. Psalm Chapter 12 World English
- 5:35Bible for the chief musician upon an 8 stringed lyre a Psalm
- 5:39of David. Help Yahweh for the godly man
- 5:41ceases, for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
- 5:45Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips
- 5:49and with a double heart. May Yahweh cut off all
- 5:52flattering lips and the tongue that boasts.
- 5:54Who have said with our tongue we will prevail.
- 5:57Our lips are our own. Who is Lord over us because of
- 6:00the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the
- 6:02needy? I will now arise, says Yahweh.
- 6:05I will set Him in safety from those who malign him.
- 6:08Yahweh's words are flawless words as silver refined in a
- 6:11clay furnace, purified 7 times. You will keep them, Yahweh, You
- 6:16will preserve them from this generation forever.
- 6:18The wicked walk on every side when what is vile is exalted
- 6:22among the sons of men. Matthew Chapter 25 World English
- 6:26Bible Then the Kingdom of heaven will be like 10 virgins who took
- 6:30their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 5 of them were
- 6:33foolish and five were wise. Those who were foolish when they
- 6:37took their lamps took no oil with them, but the wise took oil
- 6:40in their vessels with their lamps.
- 6:42Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and
- 6:44slept. But at midnight there was a cry.
- 6:47Behold, the bridegroom is coming, come out to meet him.
- 6:51Then all those virgins arose and trim their lamps.
- 6:54The foolish said to the wise, Give us some of your oil, for
- 6:56our lamps are going out. But the wise answered, saying,
- 7:00What if there isn't enough for us?
- 7:01And you, you go rather to those who sell and buy for yourselves,
- 7:05while they went away to buy. The bridegroom came, and those
- 7:08who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the
- 7:11door was shut. Afterward the other virgins also
- 7:14came, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
- 7:17But he answered most certainly. I tell you, I don't know you.
- 7:20Watch therefore, for you don't know the day nor the hour in
- 7:23which the Son of Man is coming. For it is like a man going into
- 7:26another country who called his own servants and entrusted his
- 7:30goods to them. To 1 he gave 5 talents, to
- 7:33another, two, to another one, to each according to his own
- 7:36ability. Then he went on his journey.
- 7:39Immediately. He who received the five talents
- 7:41went and traded with them and made another 5 talents.
- 7:45In the same way, he also who got the two gained another 2.
- 7:48But he who received the one talent went away and dug in the
- 7:51earth and hid his Lord's money. Now after a long time, the Lord
- 7:55of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
- 7:58He who received the five talents came and brought another 5
- 8:01talents, saying, Lord, you delivered to me 5 talents.
- 8:05Behold, I have gained another 5 talents in addition to them.
- 8:09His Lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant, you
- 8:13have been faithful over a few things.
- 8:15I will set you over many things, enter into the joy of your Lord.
- 8:19He also who got the two talents came and said, Lord, you
- 8:22delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another
- 8:25two talents in addition to them. His Lord said to him, Well done,
- 8:30good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over a few
- 8:33things. I will set you over many things,
- 8:36enter into the joy of your Lord. He also, who had received the
- 8:39one talent, came and said, Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard
- 8:43man, reaping where you didn't sow, and gathering where you
- 8:46didn't scatter. I was afraid and went away and
- 8:48hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.
- 8:52But as Lord answered him, you wicked and slothful servant, you
- 8:56knew that I reap where I didn't sow, and gather where I didn't
- 8:58scatter. You ought therefore to have
- 9:00deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I
- 9:04should have received back my own with interest.
- 9:06Take away, therefore, the talent from him, and give it to Him who
- 9:09has the 10 talents. For to everyone who has will be
- 9:12given, and He will have abundance, but from him who
- 9:16doesn't have even that which He has will be taken away.
- 9:19Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness,
- 9:23where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
- 9:25But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy
- 9:28angels with him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
- 9:32Before Him all the nations will be gathered, and He will
- 9:35separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the
- 9:38sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep on His
- 9:41right hand, but the goats on the left.
- 9:43Then the king will tell those on his right hand, Come, blessed of
- 9:47my father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the
- 9:49foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave
- 9:52me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me
- 9:55drink. I was a stranger and you took me
- 9:57in. I was naked and you clothed me.
- 10:00I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to
- 10:03me. Then the righteous will answer
- 10:05him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or
- 10:09thirsty and give you a drink? When did we see you as a
- 10:11stranger, and take you in, or naked and clothe you?
- 10:15When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?
- 10:18The king will answer them most certainly, I tell you, because
- 10:21you did it to one of the least of these, my brothers, You did
- 10:23it to me. Then he will say also to those
- 10:26on the left hand, Depart from me.
- 10:29You cursed into the eternal fire, which is prepared for the
- 10:32devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you didn't
- 10:35give me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me no
- 10:38drink. I was a stranger and you didn't
- 10:40take me in naked, and you didn't clothe me sick and in prison,
- 10:44and you didn't visit me. Then they will also answer
- 10:47saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a
- 10:50stranger or naked or sick or in prison and didn't help you?
- 10:54Then He will answer them saying most certainly I tell you,
- 10:57because you didn't do it to one of the least of these, You
- 11:00didn't do it to me. These will go away into eternal
- 11:03punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
