- 0:39SPEAKER_02: This is my favorite brand, I think, of all time.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: I use it every day.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: And I remember when um, you know, new product launches would come out before the podcast even started, and I would watch all the promo videos and everything, you know, all the hype around it, you know, every product.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: So without further ado, I want to introduce you guys to Dr.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: Dennis Gross himself.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Uh, welcome to the show, Dr.
- 0:59SPEAKER_02: Gross.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: I'm so honored to host you.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: I've listened to your podcast.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: I've heard some great, great guests myself.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: So I'm happy to join the ranks of those people.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: So let's talk, you know.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, let's talk.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Yes, I want to know everything about you.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: Honestly, your brand is brilliant, and I know that so much amazing, you know, uh thought and science has gone behind it.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: So I want to start from the beginning and I want to, you know, tell us about your medical journey and what led to the brand and um the whole vision, really.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, the bottom line is that I'm a dermatologist and I'm also a former cancer researcher.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: And I'm so I'm a real scientist in the laboratory working with skin cells and biochemistry.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: And the bottom line is, you know, I really wanted to create a line of products for people to use at home because I thought that their industry was really ripe and ready for some serious innovation.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: And I felt like I could do it.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: And the truth of the matter is, is that, you know, in the home, people using products is to me is where it's at.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Simply because, you know, it's great to go to see a dermatologist or to go to a medi spa.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: But number one, it's not something you do every day.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: And secondly, a lot of people can't afford it or just don't have the time.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: And it's so what you do at home is what really matters.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: And that was where I wanted to really make a difference.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: And that was the initial impetus for me starting the brand.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: It was getting results at home for people.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: And I feel like every, I feel like every really like pioneering type of like medical professional, like they come to this realization of like, how can I make people's lives easier?
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: So I love that you said that.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: You know, that's that's so crucial because right now I hear a lot of times, like, well, why don't you echo on your show?
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: Why don't you just say go to a dermatologist?
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: I'm like, because not everyone can afford one, you know.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: Oh, by the way, and you know what else is interesting?
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Even if you do go to a dermatologist, even if you do regularly go for professional treatments, you still have to follow it up with home care.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Because let me, you know, the one thing about the skin that you should understand is that the skin loves a routine, it loves to be fed ingredients and to be given treatments, especially with ingredients that are goal-directed.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Everyone has like their pet peeves about the way about something about their skin, they'd love to improve.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: If you just give your skin the right products, the right ingredients on a regular basis, even if you see a dermatologist once a month or whatever it is, you still need to do the skincare at home because that's what's gonna make the difference.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: No, I completely agree with you.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: And I've definitely seen, you know, I'll I'll say up front, I've seen a huge difference in my skin since I started using your line specifically.
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: You know, and I when I first, I'm not gonna lie, that was one of my first, you know, uh, moments that made me fall in love with skincare and the potential it has for me as a consumer and also obviously the science side.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: And um, I really want to ask you, you know, I've been dying to ask you about the vision behind your your peel wipes because those were the first products I tried by the line, and I cannot tell you, like my skin completely changed.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: Like it's been so different since, you know.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: So I would love for you to tell us um the whole story behind the the concept.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: I love it because that is really still like the the turning point of my career.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: What happened was we're going back years now, was that you know, I as a dermatologist, I I basically um loved the the results people were getting from peels, from from peels that that you did in the in the office.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: And because there it's the one thing that you can do that does so many great things to the to the skin.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: And you know, people hear the word peel, they think about acids, they get scared.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: That's just so off now.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, the technology and the treatment, the built and the alpha beta peel you're referring to, my my first and still my most popular product, was a dramatic entry to the into the skincare world.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: And the bottom line is that at in the reason it was so innovative and made it so different and so groundbreaking was because it kept the skin in balance.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: It did not cause redness or dryness or flakiness.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: And in in the day, everybody said that's what you need.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: You need to you need to do peels to get results, you need to get downtime, you need to have to stay indoors for X number of days, you have to look like Samantha and Sex in the City, and you have you have seriously, and and and you know, and by the way, as a dermatologist, let me tell you how it works.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: You have people coming into your office, you know, from all these different companies trying to sell you like um products and professional systems to use on your patients.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: So, and they would come in my door and they'd say, yeah, yeah, yeah, let's first, the first time a person comes in, do like a like a 30% glycolic acid peel, then have them come back a week later, do a 40%, then the next week 50%, 60, 70.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: And after and after doing that a couple times, they're gonna get really red, really flaky, really irritated, and then their skin's gonna look great.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: I tried it.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: And the fact is that it was so untrue.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: First of all, people were not seeing results, right?
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: Secondly, they were going through all that for nothing, and sometimes it made their skin look worse.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: So therefore, right, skin cancer researcher at Sloan Cattering in New York, I did biochemical research on skin and biochemistry and you know, at Rockefeller University, I was a really hardcore science person.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: And then I became a dermatologist and I learned how the skin really works on a cellular level.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: And I said, I can invent a peel that there is no downtime and gives great results.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: And that's what I did.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: That was the alphabeta peel.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: And interestingly enough, even the journalistic world, I got interviewed by Vogue magazine.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: I'll never forget it.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: And you know, and the beauty editor said, come on, you can't get results if you don't have any kind of downtime.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: And I proved it to her, I proved it to all my patients, and then my practice took off.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: And when I and then I started to in in in like the the ground floor of my of my building, you know, because it was like a three-level um townhouse, which is where my practice was.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: I used to mix these things on pads and give them to patients.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: And then next thing you know, people who weren't even my patients were coming in the front door saying, My friend got these pads, can I can I get them too?
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: And that's what that's when I turned to my wife and I said, I think we might have a business here.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: And that that was the alphabet appeal, and that was the birth of Dr.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: Dennis Grove's skincare.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: You can get it, you can do peels.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: It's two steps.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: That was the missing link.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: They were not getting it.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: Any peel you do, like in a doctor's office, always got to be two steps.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: First step is the acids, the second step turns them off, it neutralizes them.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: That was the key difference.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: And then you get an amazing result.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: I mean, you can start to see anti-aging benefits, you know, you can see stimulation of collagen, so fine lines and wrinkles look better, uneven skin tones and brown spots, discolorations get better, acne and pores and congestion look better, the skin gets this gorgeous radiancy.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: It was a real game changer.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: And I proved it, I patented it, and here we are.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: That's the story.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and you wow, and what a story, because honestly, it is a game changer.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: And you, you know, you really proved a lot, I think, more than just that you can do peels, but more more so for me, you know, also as a fellow scientist, I I really appreciate the product because it's really showing you how chemistry works.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: And in the world of, you know, in the world of um social media hype and all these people talking about science that have no science background.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: It's real life, you know, just chemistry being proven every time you use this product.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: And then I just appreciate it so much because of that.
- 9:08SPEAKER_02: And I know that you've gone on to like, you know, um create like the body wipe, you know, peel wipes and then the texture renewal peel, which by the way, I love, love that.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: Um, I I just think that this is, you know, this is the next.
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, I think it's a staple in skincare, if I'm honest.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: You know, it's not just about the fact that it renews my skin.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: It also helps with, you know, I started to notice with other products, like my serums, you know, would soak in.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: My skin would respond to other things, you know.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: And that's an aspect I think, you know, you since you brought up peels, no one really is discussing is this idea of when you make your skin, when you renew your skin, it's gonna be more receptive to the nutrients we put on top, you know.
- 9:48SPEAKER_02: So it's like that's why you call it like a real staple in my routine, is yeah, you know.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: I agree with you completely.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: In fact, the second step in the alpha beta peel not only turns off the acids from the first step and you put on step one, wait two minutes, put the second step on and let it dry.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: That second step is loaded with over 15 of the most important antioxidants and vitamins and nutrients and soothing ingredients and all these incredible ingredients that are a complex that gives your skin amazing results, not only by neutralizing the first step, but like you just said.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: And the reason is because the first step, when you do that first step and you put on the the the alpha and beta hydroxy acids, it takes off that top layer of dead, dull skin and reveals and brings to the top your youngest skin cells.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: And those, to your point, those are they are avidly taking up nutrients and ingredients and serums because, like all cells that are young, they're super hungry and they're super metabolic.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: And then you get incredible results on top of it.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, and I have this whole system, you know, serums and and moisturizers and all these different products go on afterwards so much better and they work even better.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: I agree with you.
- 11:04SPEAKER_02: I love I love that.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: And I actually want to ask you because there's so many products in the line that I feel are just completely innovative and just there's nothing else like it.
- 11:14SPEAKER_02: You know, your whole line to me just represents like, you know, scientific progress and just, you know, very forward-facing uh, you know, dermal science.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: You know, every time I look at the the website and the products, I'm like, wow, this is amazing.
- 11:27SPEAKER_02: Of course, Dr.
- 11:28SPEAKER_02: Johnson come out with it, you know, with this like it's it's like that.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: So I want you to tell us about, you know, I know you have a wonderful um LED mask as well, like a therapy mask um that really kind of blew up a while ago.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: Um, people were really chatting about it and they were really interested in that.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: And I hadn't seen a product like it.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: I know now there's a lot of companies that are, I mean, I would say like mimicking that, right?
- 11:50SPEAKER_02: And they're coming out with their version.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: But I would love for you to talk to us about that as well, because it's a pretty um, I think, gray topic in the skin health area.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: Well, okay, so as a dermatologist, there's certain things I do routinely.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: We talked about professional peels, and now you do this peel at home every day.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: But the the inspiration to a lot of my products comes from things I do in my office.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: One of the things I do in my office that has been really successful is this LED light treatment that people come into the office maybe once a month or or maybe once a quarter or once a year.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: And it's it's it's technology, it's a light, right?
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: And it's not like radiation and it's not sunlight or it's nothing harsh, it's not like that kind of intense that gives you a downtime.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: But it was actually pioneered by NASA in the space program because they found that LED light um helps uh wounds heal faster for the astronauts in space, where um, because of that difference environment, you know, if they cut themselves, it would take forever to heal.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: So they discovered LED, and now the scientific world has the opportunity, like myself, to harness that.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: So I created this LED mask that you're talking about, the facewear pro.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: Um and what what's so amazing about it is it's it's a light that actually works on the skin like an ingredient.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: And you wouldn't think that light is an ingredient, but it really is in the eyes of the skin, because it has receptors, it's like those which are doorways to let certain things in that are good and keep things that are bad out, which is its intention.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: So we have specific LED receptors, specific doorways and gateways to let LED into the skin.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: And it in three minutes, when you apply this mask, there's different, there's different wavelengths, um, which are basically the same thing as saying different types of light, specific types of LED lights to be more specific.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: And it looks like red light or blue light, right?
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: And the red simulates collagen, right?
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: And collagen is the protein in skin that gives it structure and firmness and thickness.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: And when you're young, you got a lot of it.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: But as we age, it breaks down, we make less, and if you get some sun, you get even more destruction.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: The key there's a huge myth out there, which is that people are buying collagen drinks, powders, and consuming it and thinking they're gonna get the same anti-aging benefits as you would by using LED, for example, and it's just garbage.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Save your money, don't do that.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: The only real way you can make make more collagen in your skin is to stimulate your skin's own cells to make more of it.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: And that's what LED does.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: That's specifically what LED red light does.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: So it makes people look younger, it firms their skin, it brings, it lifts them, it helps sagging.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: Then if you push the button twice, you get the blue light.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Blue LED light has anti-acnefits, complexion benefits, because it kills the bacteria that actually causes breakouts.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: And it can actually help with people with acne.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: Now, what I'm saying to you, by the way, is FDA cleared.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: I have to, I can't, for good reason, consumers are protected from people going on podcasts and saying things that are not true and selling them a bill of goods.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: So the FDA had to prove, I had to prove to the FDA, and they said, yes, you're 100% right.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: I got and we got the steel of approval, and I got the the authorization and the law behind me in my ability to sit make these statements.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: But LED is an incredible technology.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: And the key thing about this mask, you're right, the most important breakthrough there was that it has enough energy to give you all the results you need in just three minutes a day, and it's hands-free and it's rechargeable.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: So it was one of the things that the industry could not do masks out there that you have to wear for 12 to 20 minutes a day, and you gotta use it in order for it to work.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: And it's just not practical, but three minutes a day now, people are using it and they're getting crazy great results in everything from clearing their skin to looking younger and helping discoloration, redness goes away with the LED red light, and then you can push the button three times and you can get both red and blue together all in three minutes.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: So it's a breakthrough, too.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's pretty much something else that um I mean, it goes to show you once again that science really is is advancing, but the inspiration is my office.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: I knew happy I've I've seen over 150,000 patients one-on-one in my career.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: And, you know, I just knew that this was gonna be a good thing for people to be able to do at home.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: Well, this is just, I mean, it's it truly is revolutionary.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: I mean, I feel like, you know, everything I said earlier, I I'm just gonna echo it again.
- 16:40SPEAKER_02: Every time you come out with a product, I'm always just like, it's gonna take about a year for everybody else to catch up, so I'm gonna wait.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: You know, it's always yeah, there's a there's a lot of science, you know, and every product um taps into new scientific principles, but there are certain scientific principles that I believe every product has to have, which is how we create products.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and you know, it shows, Dr.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: Gross.
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: I mean, honestly, the thing is I you'll not believe that just literally two weeks ago, I wrote a paper and it's um the manuscript is is in you know review right now, but it was about blue light, and it wasn't about what you just explained to us.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: It was more about the people who are like all about marketing hype around blue light causing wrinkles and all this stuff.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: And I was like, literally, you're taking away from like the benefits of blue light and LED by saying that because it's so much marketing hype.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: And you know, I think in a world where everybody talks about, you know, well, I think this is the cause of this, or I think that it's very important for you know, doctors and scientists and professionals and just yourself to clarify these topics for us because you know, I can't tell you how many people reach out to me and they're like, is this safe for me?
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: Should I be using any sort of uh blue light therapy or anything?
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, yes, the papers, you know, if you go on to PubMed, if you go on to the literature, it supports it in the right way.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: So I think that's why I wanted to highlight this product was that this is this is blue light and red light done right.
- 18:05SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: So if you're not perfect, 100%.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: That is absolutely that's the accurate assessment and um presentation of the product in in scientific terms.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: It's all about the quality and the duration and the intensity and the science and the calibration, dosing, all those things.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: You got to get it right when you do.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: You really that's why NASA used it, you know.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 18:31SPEAKER_02: No, exactly.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: Now, I want you to tell us, uh, Dr.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: Ross, about retinols and just, you know, the whole idea of vitamin A derivatives, because I know, you know, I mentioned to you I love the um overnight texture renewal peel.
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: And I, you know, retinol is an area for me that is also, you know, very, very not confusing, it's a gray area.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: I think there's a lot of misinformation.
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: So I'd love to hear from you what you think the role of retinol is for our routines, um, you know, when we should start using it, and you know, just overall advice for all of us.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: So, so bottom line is take it, take it a step back.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: Retinol is one of the key ingredients, one of the pillars of skincare that are scientifically proven to make a huge difference in the skin.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: And that's those are the types of ingredients I believe people should use.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: And those are the ones of the anchors in my in my product line.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: Retinol, retinol, vitamin C, love that, niacinamide, hyaluron acid, alpha and beta hydroxy acids, peptides, um, LED light.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: So, retinol is a hero, right?
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: Retinol, like you said, it comes from vitamin A.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: And what it does is it works on the surface of the skin, and like peels, it does so many amazing things.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: So, for example, retinol does stimulate more of the skin's own collagen.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: So, it helps firm it up.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: It helps soothe, it helps smooth out the texture of skin, right?
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: It helps, it helps like that crinkly crepiness that people get, which in my I have a slogan which is in the book I wrote, uh, Your Future Face, that's on my website.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: You can just upload it for free.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: I call it the crinkle before the wrinkle.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: And it helps, it helps firm up, you know, that looseness the skin gets.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: It helps with skin discolorations, it helps get rid of that dark discoloration that women get because they're, you know, younger women get it when they're pregnant or on birth control pills or just being young and having high levels of estrogen in their skin their skin and getting some sun causes discoloration.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: It helps prevent the stickiness of the stuff inside a pore from happening.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: So pores decongest, and that's the key step in helping your skin look um nice and clear, right?
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: And it also works to give your skin incredible radiance.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: So it's fantastic.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: But here is the bottom line.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: It's irritating.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: It's irritating.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: And so what you're talking about with my new um uh products in the retinal category.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: We have a moisturizer, we have a serum, we have an eye product, we have its own exclusive peel pad just made of retinol.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: Um, so it's an assortment of retinol products that just you gotta find what's what appeals to you, and and and that's how I recommend people actually select themselves.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: The key thing, the discovery that that I made was we figured out, well, why is retinol so irritating?
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: So many people were using it and getting red, and they never go back to it.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: People with sensitive skin thought they could never use it, and they would they would shy away from it, or they had a bad reaction years ago and they never went back to it.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Or people think they're too young for it, you know, which is a mistake too, because you know, if you're in your 20s, it's a smart time to start it up again.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: So now we have all these people coming back to this to retinol um in our in our company, in our product line, because we have found a way to make retinol gentle on the skin and still and actually make it more.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Effective, and here's the science.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: The bottom line is that it it retinol can damage the very very top layer of skin called the moisture barrier, which is like what the skin makes, it's in the top top of the epidermis, right?
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: Which is a layer of skin that the skin has to keep it insulated and keep the water and the hydrating ingredients and its lipids and everything it needs to stay hydrated inside the skin.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: The retinol gets on that surface and starts to break down people's moisture barrier.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: And so that leads to dryness and then it leads to irritation.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: So when we figured that out, and we just did it by just studying subjects and like really analyzing their skin, and said, look at this.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: This the base, the moisture barrier is disrupted.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: The way to fix that is to add other ingredients that repair the moisture barrier and put them in the product alongside retinol and put ingredients that that actually promote the moisture barrier from being produced in anticipation that it might break down.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: When you combine all these ingredients with retinol, you now we've created what, and it's called a phytoretinol blend.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: So when you take all these other ingredients, add it to retinol, retinol serves its incredible purpose, but then that the side effect it has of irritation and dryness is counteracted by the other ingredients in the phytoretinol blend.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: And so we're talking about ingredients that you may have heard of, like Bacuciol or Rambutan or ferulic acid.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: And all these ingredients in the skin combined with retinol to produce this complex has made retinol incredibly um safe for everyone, gentle on their skin.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: And by the way, those other ingredients facilitate the results you get from retinol.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: So people are seeing clearer skin, radiant skin, younger looking skin, firmer skin, younger people looking to prevent, which I think is super smart, or they're starting to see the little crow's feet, for example.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: Get on it.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: Don't wait.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: Don't let that get better.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: That's not going to get better on its own.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: Nothing really does, unfortunately.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: Um, so there's a whole new excitement.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: This is like at Sephora, this you can't keep it on the shelves.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: And this is and this is one of the most important things I'm I'm thinking that I've done in the past 12 months.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: And you're right, I'm getting I'm getting a lot of interviews on it, and there's just a lot of questions and and excitement, but it's legitimate science that um once again, you know, innovation um has led to some real improvements in in the state of the art.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's absolutely brilliant, like everything else in your line.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: I mean, I love the whole range of retinol um products you've just come out with because you know, for everyone listening, by the way, um Dr.
- 25:03SPEAKER_02: Gross had mentioned the the um there was there's a moisturizer in the line, which I literally use every night.
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: Like I and I was waiting for our interviews to be able to say this on air that you know you don't have to be scared anymore of retinol because I know a lot of consumers say, well, I can't use it more than twice a week, you know, it's gonna make my skin go crazy.
- 25:25SPEAKER_02: And it's like, well, here's the perfect solution for people who are scared.
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: You know, it's like the less you have to think about the product and if it's gonna work, the better.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: And I think when we, you know, invest in lines like you know, that are well researched, backed by, you know, science, backed by professional opinion and you know, medicine, you know, don't have to worry about things like that.
- 25:46SPEAKER_02: So this is a product I really love is this the intense wrinkle cream because I literally use it every night and it's extremely hydrating, it's extremely like nourishing, and just my skin just wakes up more plump and beautiful.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: Like I love it, you know.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: And it's interesting what you're saying because it's going the other direction.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, not only is it not irritating, but it's hydrating.
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's incredible.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: Retinol can be used in a hydrating ingredient.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: And I'm a believer, by the way, that you know what, moisturizers should hydrate the skin, but let's get real.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Why not have another benefit in addition to the hydration?
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: And that's what I believe in.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: You know, I think that um to say you got to use two products where you can really get it in one, um, is just not it's not right, you know.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: So I love to just be able to create a moisturizer that also makes the skin more radiant and plumped, you know, and more just firmer and all that stuff.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: So that um, and retinal, and retinol does do that, you know.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: So um you just have to formulate it the right way.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, can you imagine how far we've come so that we have we can even use retinol in the eye area?
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: We have created this eye serum that's one pump, right?
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: And and you put around the eyes in the morning under makeup, it's phenomenal.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: Well, that's the crazy thing is that the retinol around the eyes.
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, I know for a long time everybody was talking about, you know, vitamin A, very, very toxic for the eyes and all this stuff.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, I look at this type of technology now, and Dr.
- 27:13SPEAKER_02: Gross, I'm just amazed because I kid you not a year ago on the same podcast, I was talking to somebody about how we need better dosing in this category of skin health.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: You know, we need a better approach.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: We need something that people can go to and not be scared and not be worried that, you know, they're going to be causing downstream effects.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: So this is brilliant.
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, I come out with this because we need real skin health solutions and they need to be properly dosed and they need to be properly, you know, um, I guess you could say formulated, like you were saying, because everybody's confused, you know, everyone I hear you.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: The confusion, and by the way, that is probably like it's the confusion that also was the impetus for me to start the brand, you know, years ago, because there's still so much confusion.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: One of the most important things that is, I think, is talk about confusion, is everyone thinks that, oh, you know, if if 3% is good, then 10% is better, and 15% is better still.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: And that's when they get into trouble.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: It's like, you know, there is a there is a proper required dose of all these ingredients, and we spend a lot of research research and development funding in our company to really select the right doses that um that is that makes things um um really uh uh ideal.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: And it's true that more is not necessarily better.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: You know, there's certain ways to deliver ingredients, certain delivery systems that really make a difference.
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: And that is key.
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: And I think that's a major mistake people are making to this day.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: Um, and we get it right.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: You know, we we we do what we it's called receptor research.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: I mentioned about receptors being like doorways or gateways.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: Bottom line is the the perfect dose for any ingredient is so that it's all the receptors are saturated on every single day.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: That's your daily dose, and then by the end of the day, all that has been ingested and consumed by the skin cells, and they're open again the next day, and you replenish.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: You go more than that, it doesn't get absorbed, it stays outside the cell and it irritates and serves no benefit.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: So there is there is the optimal concentration for all these ingredients, and that is part of the mantra of how we formulate.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: And that's the difference between a doctor's brand and a real scientific brand and you know, other brands that are just more like, you know, just saying more is better or it's putting a nice fragrance to it, or you know, on and on.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: So that's part of the hardcore science.
- 29:42SPEAKER_02: No, I completely agree.
- 29:44SPEAKER_02: And I think I love that you brought up the receptors because you're, you know, this is so important and such a big thing that, you know, um people like you speak about this, you know, on that, on that level, the science, because I keep trying to explain to people that if you really want to understand skin health, you're gonna have to get used to words like receptors and signaling and molecules.
- 30:03SPEAKER_02: And you know what I mean?
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: Like you're gonna have to start to appreciate that because that's really where the innovation is.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: And, you know, um, just to add on, you know, people bombard their skin, right?
- 30:14SPEAKER_02: And they'll bombard like retinol, like for example, like you know, like you were saying, with these extremely high doses, and on a receptor level, you know, for everyone listening, you know, this not only it does what Dr.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: Grove said, which is like saturated receptors, but it also causes like a physiological reaction where your skin is now saying, Well, do I need more of those?
- 30:34SPEAKER_02: You know, do I need more receptors?
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: And it'll upregulate or downregulate.
- 30:38SPEAKER_02: So you're really messing with your skin's physiology if you're being well formulated, you know.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: So I I love it.
- 30:45SPEAKER_02: I love that you explain that.
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: I think that, you know, for anyone listening, if you're looking to start a retinal routine, I would not go anywhere else.
- 30:52SPEAKER_02: This is, you know, Dr.
- 30:53SPEAKER_02: Gross's lawn is like it's like the hallmark for me in skincare.
- 30:57SPEAKER_02: I mean, if you know, if he's making it, it's it is very, very well researched.
- 31:01SPEAKER_02: So this is a great place to start for anybody, you know, anybody.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: And it's a dermatologist in me that really also steps in and says one of the most important things about products that you need to use, which is our guiding light, is you always keep the skin in balance.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: In fact, you never want the skin to get red, dry, irritated, because that creates more free radicals, which is the enemy.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: It's the it's the seed to inflammation, it's the seed to aging, it's the seed to inflammatory acne.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: So keeping the skin in balance is the is the real key scientific principle that absolutely every single product is is going to do for people.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: And that's how you optimize the particular skincare benefits of a product.
- 31:50SPEAKER_01: You get the best results and no downtime.
- 31:53SPEAKER_01: That's the real key.
- 31:54SPEAKER_01: And so balance, there's no organ in the body.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: Think about, you know, back to the days when I was told you have to peel to a point of redness.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: What if you tell me an organ where you injure it so that it can come back better?
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Like you're gonna hurt your lungs so you can breathe better.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: That's crazy, right?
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: You would never do that to your kidneys or the skin is no different.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: So, this whole idea of being gentle to a point where you never disrupt the moisture barrier and keep everything um in in in a nice balanced way, is how you get the greatest results.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: And by the way, it's how you get immediate results too, which is what I believe in.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: You gotta see results.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: You know, if you're not seeing results in a product after like, you know, a couple weeks, it's time to move on because it's not gonna get better than it's than after you've done a couple weeks.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: More importantly, though, there's there's science that I think is again, which is what one of my mantras is you got to see the results right away.
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: You gotta look in the mirror, you know, after one or two applications and say, whoa, I'm on the right track.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: And it's not like, you know, it's not something that's subtle.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: It's gotta really like blow you away.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: And we do it.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: And there's science again.
- 33:02SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 33:03SPEAKER_02: No, I completely agree with you.
- 33:04SPEAKER_02: And I think one of the, you know, one of the biggest myths in the skincare industry, and also I think it's a marketing hype, is people saying, well, just stick to the routine for six months.
- 33:13SPEAKER_02: You know, you'll eventually see a difference.
- 33:14SPEAKER_02: No, if it's a good product, you'll see the difference.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: You know, you'll immediately see the difference.
- 33:18SPEAKER_02: And if and if it's formulated right, if it's done right, you will see some sort of change in your overall skin appearance.
- 33:24SPEAKER_02: And if you're not seeing them, then that means that you're probably just putting on like another version of Vaseline or something.
- 33:30SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 33:31SPEAKER_02: But it's really, really important um what you said for consumers to understand then is that you know, quality and good science really shows and it's not, you know, you that's how you differentiate between fluff and the real stuff is you know, you you will see the results firsthand.
- 33:46SPEAKER_02: And you know, that's worth investing in, that's worth, you know, really kind of going down that rabbit hole.
- 33:51SPEAKER_02: If you find a line that works for you, go and explore it more.
- 33:54SPEAKER_02: You know, if you're looking for a hyaluronic serum, go and find it from that line instead of saying, well, I'm gonna try 15 million different products from all over the place because that also doesn't help.
- 34:04SPEAKER_02: So I'm glad that you um explained that to us.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Very interesting.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much, by the way.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: This has been such a lovely interview, and I and I want to just give a huge shout out to everyone who matched.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: I know we're going through residency max right now, and it's very random, but I wanted to get your advice, Dr.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: Gross, for all those uh budding dermatologists out there who are you know interested in this field, uh any kind of words of wisdom you can offer to them.
- 34:27SPEAKER_02: Um, any advice.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: You know, it is um my words of advice really is um always remember the science.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: You know, yeah, it's it the skin is an incredible organ, and the specialty of dermatology is very, very different than any other field of medicine because it's visual.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: You don't need a blood test, you know, you don't need to take an x-ray.
- 34:50SPEAKER_01: You gotta learn to see what the skin is saying by understanding the appearance of stressed skin, of aging skin, the reasons for breakouts.
- 35:02SPEAKER_01: You have to always be very scientific and in interpreting what you see visually.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: And my advice in in to young dermatologists is keep that scientific thinking going and be systematic in your approach.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: In other words, you know, um in skincare and sometimes in dermatology, like treating acne, I'll tell you honestly, you know, you hear about, you know, you got to use six steps, six different products in your skincare routine or sometimes 10, you know, you know, that's nonsense.
- 35:36SPEAKER_01: You don't need to.
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: Treating acne, for example, you know, lots of times dermatologists will throw the book at it.
- 35:41SPEAKER_01: It's a challenging disorder, it really is.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: But you really try to stay focused on keeping things, medications to a minimum, try to use less oral medications.
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: Um, lots of times um I find that um, you know, it's it's something that people have to stay on an oral antibiotic for months and months, which is not good for their body.
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: Um, so try to be more specific and targeted to the specific reasons and and focus your regimen when you prescribe to a patient.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I love that.
- 36:13SPEAKER_02: I really love that.
- 36:14SPEAKER_02: And I, you know, I hope that doctors nowadays like they really pay attention to that because yeah, systemic medications are never, they're not always the answer, especially when yeah.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, I can tell you acne is a really complicated skin disorder, and it's a huge part of our company's um mission, which is we've made a huge difference in acne.
- 36:37SPEAKER_01: And a lot of it starts with the real understanding, which is something I teach my students, is that all acne starts with a blocked pore, period.
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: End of story.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: It doesn't matter if it's teenage acne, T zone acne, hormonal acne, cystic acne, it all starts with the common denominator being that blockage.
- 36:59SPEAKER_01: And the problem is it's an oil chemistry problem to start, right?
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: And and what the oil chemistry problem that we're talking about in breakouts is that people have who have broke who get breakouts, their skin is making an oil that's too heavy for its own good and it gets trapped.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: Instead of being like water that flows, it's a little too thick and viscous, more like honey.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: And then it gets clogged.
- 37:22SPEAKER_01: And then after that, the whole cascade kicks in.
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: Bacteria loves to live off that oil.
- 37:28SPEAKER_01: That blockage creates a little warm and cozy pocket behind it where the bacteria grows.
- 37:33SPEAKER_01: And as it grows, your immune system comes in to fight it normally.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: That's good, right?
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: But then you get inflammation on top of the infection and you get redness and you get swelling.
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: And then if it gets really, really bad, then that that little pocket of bacteria and inflammation, the skin walls it off smartly, but that's called a cyst.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: But if you're gonna the treatment of acne, and this is what we do when we talk about using the alpha beta peel or the acne gel or the pore serum, we have to really focus on that first step.
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: And here's a huge myth.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: I'm so happy it's come up in this podcast.
- 38:09SPEAKER_01: You that this whole idea of putting something on a pimple and spot treating it is the wrong approach.
- 38:16SPEAKER_01: You've already lost the battle.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: You the idea is to get ahead of acne and start to prevent it.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: So, my approach is to use products in the areas where you're prone to breaking out or where you have active breakouts, and the products will clear you.
- 38:33SPEAKER_01: And you know, let's face it, your breakouts are going to come back roughly in the same areas for any particular person.
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: So you treat those areas consistently with the same products, and you start to prevent that congestion and that oil chemistry problem.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: And so you can actually prevent it.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: It drives me nuts to see commercials and advertisements of like little spot treatments on these little pimples and zits and stuff, because that's just keeping people from coming from buying more and more and staying on this stuff indefinitely, because you're missing a boat and it's not right.
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: You gotta treat the area, and and you can prevent the you can prevent acne by knowing why what's causing it.
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: Put the ingredients, by the way, there's no such thing as one magic bullet for acne.
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: That's why doctors prescribe boatloads of prescriptions for that condition.
- 39:22SPEAKER_01: But I put them all in my products, right?
- 39:24SPEAKER_01: So the acne gel, for example, has there's there's five different reasons just for for blocking pores.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: So block pores is not just salicylic acid, there's five different reasons for it.
- 39:34SPEAKER_01: So every one of those reasons, there's an answer in there that is um um going to stop the blockage for one of those five reasons, which is happening to everybody who breaks out, maybe one of the five or two of the five.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: Every product has all the antidotes for the five reasons.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: And then there's antibacterial stuff in there.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: I love pharnosol, which comes from roses.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: I don't like benzo peroxide, I don't use it.
- 39:59SPEAKER_01: So um we are um just really scientific about it.
- 40:04SPEAKER_01: But that's a huge thing.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: The spot treatment, man.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:09SPEAKER_02: No, the spot I I'm so glad that you said that because I see them all over the place.
- 40:14SPEAKER_02: And for me, they've never worked either.
- 40:16SPEAKER_02: So it makes sense now what you're saying.
- 40:18SPEAKER_02: Because for me, I used to always get, or I still get like cystic acne.
- 40:22SPEAKER_02: And when I put a spot treatment on it, it becomes hardened almost.
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: It doesn't, yeah, it doesn't help at all.
- 40:28SPEAKER_02: It just makes it like flatten and harden.
- 40:31SPEAKER_02: So it's like even harder to get rid of now.
- 40:34SPEAKER_02: So I yeah, I don't know why people are still using those.
- 40:37SPEAKER_02: They they never work for me.
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: You know, honestly, look, I think that one of the most important things that we do as a company is educate people.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: So we have masterclasses um on a regular basis, we have consultations that you can do um free of charge.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: And so we have we have services that we offer people that really work to educate people and and analyze their skin one-on-one and and then like teach them.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: Let people understand, like I just told you about acne.
- 41:10SPEAKER_01: That's a game changer for people to understand.
- 41:13SPEAKER_01: And here we are in the year 2022.
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: Think about it, that with still people treating the way they did with like products in the night from the 1960s.
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: It's absolutely crazy.
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: So, education um, I think is absolutely powerful because you can really you can really um facilitate people's improvement in their skin by helping them understand, well, what really is wrong with your skin?
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: Why are you getting that melasma?
- 41:42SPEAKER_01: You know, what what what don't you know that you need to know?
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: And also, people love to know about products, they love to understand ingredients and the science.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: And so and that and and that's part of the, I think, um, the beauty of where we're at now in terms of um the consumer world for skincare.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: Um, there the the interest is is next level stuff.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: So when you hear um, you know, just like people just being told what to do, let people ask why and then get the answer.
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: That's what we do.
- 42:19SPEAKER_02: Thank you for saying that.
- 42:21SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, I am even more in love with you now because you just said that.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: I literally have been trying my best, Dr.
- 42:28SPEAKER_02: Girls, to get that exact message out to the public.
- 42:31SPEAKER_02: Like, you guys don't understand.
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: Like, I get messages every day from people saying, Well, why does this work?
- 42:37SPEAKER_02: Why does this ingredient work?
- 42:38SPEAKER_02: What is it that I'm thinking?
- 42:40SPEAKER_02: And I've got people, you know, all these people on TikTok and like these really fascinating channels, they're like question, they question me.
- 42:47SPEAKER_02: They're like, why do you spend so much time talking about like, you know, what is retinol, what is vitamin A, what is medicine?
- 42:53SPEAKER_02: Because people want to finally know the science.
- 42:57SPEAKER_02: They want to be there, you know.
- 42:59SPEAKER_02: So it's like we, if we don't keep propagating that and we don't keep, you know, teaching and trying to educate, we're gonna keep going back into this defaulted mentality of blindly putting on products on our face and then making it worse and worse and worse.
- 43:13SPEAKER_02: So I love that you said that, Dr.
- 43:14SPEAKER_02: Gross.
- 43:15SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much for bringing that up.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's an exciting time.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: It really is, because um I I must actually, you know, the the flip side to fast-paced things is I just think that people are really looking for answers.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: They just they they're they're not out there necessarily or they don't know where to look, you know.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: Um, which is, I mean, that's why we literally have master classes where you log on and we spend time talking about these things and talking about ingredients, and um and that is that's the movement.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: The movement is um slowing it down and really, and you don't have to be look science is sometimes you know, people say, Oh, it's terrible in science, or I was terrible in math, or you
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: know what it's this is there is science for the layperson in germ in in skincare and in dermatology and and that is um really uh very gratifying for me and my team and i basically have i have a we have a we have uh a company where i have a team of scientists that help develop products i also have a team of of of people in a company that teach right so we're really an inst we're really an an educational institute and and that part of it is just really exciting and feels really good um because finally people understand like that whole thing about spot treating acne do you know how many thousands of people are looking better because they now know that how simple yeah yeah exactly and you know no one I've never heard a dermatologist other than you really address it like like head on because I you know people just keep propagating these spot treatments they don't they keep saying oh yeah get this this little patch the colloid patches or whatever they are you know it's just like stop making these products you guys just stop making them you know we don't need them and and I think consumers the more they understand the companies will also get the hint you know like oh no one's buying these anymore because they're finally educated and they know why you know so it's a it's important work that you're doing and I I can't commend you enough uh Dr.
- 45:22SPEAKER_02: Gross I'm a huge fan and I I really look up to your work.
- 45:25SPEAKER_02: So this has been such an honor to host you and to learn from you.
- 45:28SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much.
- 45:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah absolutely anytime ask away and uh yeah people have further questions we'll take them just you know we have a place on our website Dr.
- 45:37SPEAKER_01: Janice Gross um skincare uh and you know or our Instagram um we'll say we have questions and we have a team of people who will answer you you know and I really recommend that those master classes and I do I do um even on Instagram I I have I I see people one-on-one on Instagram and I give products away for free to those people um you know um we're loving the public service aspect and doing you know taking our our success and and really sharing um and helping people who can't see a doctor to get help one-on-one I do it every week on our on our Instagram I'm going to be posting because there is a master class coming up so I'm gonna be putting all of the information that we've really talked about here together for this episode.
- 46:26SPEAKER_02: So make sure that you um you know just keep an eye out for all that I'm gonna tag everything in the art for this and it's you know there's a lot of really cool stuff uh coming up for the line I believe so you know I'm I'm really excited and Dr.

- 46:45SPEAKER_01: Oh my pleasure happy to do it um and you got it just say when and I'll come back this stuff I love talking about science and the the the medica the the the the medical aspects in in understandable terms you know that's the key you know that's the that's the work.
- 47:03SPEAKER_02: It's it's the you know it's making it it's making it understandable.
- 47:06SPEAKER_02: And I always say you know there's a scientist in all of us you just have to approach it the right way you know that that part of you that's curious.
- 47:13SPEAKER_02: And it's not always about the terminology you know sometimes you just have to understand the principles and that's the real that's the real crux.
- 47:20SPEAKER_02: So I love what you're doing and I'm so glad that you're dedicated to educating um consumers because that really is you know I think what we talked about like that turning point in this industry where people are going to finally be like oh my gosh like everything I've been doing up till now is a lie.
- 47:35SPEAKER_01: Like I don't know why I've been products you know so I hear you I do and I appreciate the time and I I love your work too.
