- 2:17Speaker 2: Should we get it? May be a little weird. Should
- 2:20Speaker 2: we give ourselves round on the pause or wait for
- 2:21Speaker 2: somebody and that's watching, Well, someone's gotta guys, seriously, thank
- 2:26Speaker 2: you guys. Really shouldn't have stop.
- 2:28Speaker 4: You shouldn't unnecessary, guys.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Incredible necessary, But since you guys clapped, you might as
- 2:34Speaker 3: well talk about it.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Was I hearing before the pod that uh, Pate was
- 2:38Speaker 1: just breaking down? Pate, Yeah, self scout with an IVY
- 2:42Speaker 1: in his arm, came.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Back in full help.
- 2:44Speaker 5: I don't know that the ivy was necessary masculine. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:48Speaker 5: So I'm sitting in the chair this morning because I
- 2:50Speaker 5: get the ivy. Truthfully, I don't even know what's in
- 2:52Speaker 5: that bag, but they put something in me every Wednesday
- 2:55Speaker 5: morning at seven am. So I have not watched the outcast.
- 2:58Speaker 5: All I've had is my mom told me it was good.
- 3:00Speaker 5: A few dudes online told me it sucked at which
- 3:03Speaker 5: we talked about off air. Maybe we can mention on
- 3:05Speaker 5: are if we have time later. And that's all I
- 3:06Speaker 5: knew about it. We got good feedback from the people
- 3:08Speaker 5: that matter at ESPN, though, and then it occurred to
- 3:11Speaker 5: me this morning to search for it, and it's available
- 3:15Speaker 5: on the ESPN app.
- 3:16Speaker 4: So I had the IV.
- 3:17Speaker 5: In my arm, which I just realized I still have
- 3:20Speaker 5: the mandate on my arms.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I want to make sure that take.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Care of everything.
- 3:23Speaker 5: And I watched I watched the film. I thought we
- 3:25Speaker 5: really peaked in the second half as the game went
- 3:27Speaker 5: downhill quickly. So maybe the people did not see the
- 3:30Speaker 5: best versions of ourselves, but I thought it went really good.
- 3:33Speaker 5: You called Quevo mister Quavo several times, had to several
- 3:36Speaker 5: times special you want to be a little more formal.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I think that's the way to do it.
- 3:40Speaker 1: The boys were laughing at it because I gave him
- 3:41Speaker 1: a handshake like you apparently dapped them up right before,
- 3:44Speaker 1: and I just.
- 3:44Speaker 3: What's weird about that, too, is like you usually dap
- 3:47Speaker 3: everybody out. Hey, man, great to see you, and you
- 3:49Speaker 3: go like this, It's never it's never this.
- 3:51Speaker 5: After that early season incident up at ESPN though, with Hawk,
- 3:54Speaker 5: I think you've been a little trepidacious with the handshakes here. Yeah,
- 3:56Speaker 5: you got no problem shacking my hand, checking Taylor's hand.
- 3:59Speaker 5: There were some hands though that you still look at
- 4:01Speaker 5: and you go, how do I HA?
- 4:03Speaker 2: Not mitches, not JP's.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Not Jazz.
- 4:05Speaker 4: I think we all know what we're talking about.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Not Clay's.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I thought the first quarter first off, the
- 4:15Speaker 3: dry run. We've talked about it on the busting on Busted,
- 4:21Speaker 3: but like I was like more, I was very excited
- 4:23Speaker 3: about the op knowing that there's four of us and
- 4:24Speaker 3: like all of us together lifting this ship of like
- 4:27Speaker 3: calling the game, talking about even the person who's like
- 4:29Speaker 3: being the quarterback and just going to play by play.
- 4:31Speaker 3: You can jump into any moment and give great insight.
- 4:34Speaker 3: I was like, man, this is really gonna be a
- 4:35Speaker 3: lot of fun, Like the boys just kind of hanging out.
- 4:37Speaker 2: And then when the dry run happened.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Which, by the way, dry run caught me off guard,
- 4:41Speaker 1: No doubt they know we're gonna be doing a driver.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Once the monitors started going, I was like, what's happening here,
- 4:45Speaker 1: Josh going, isn't that the worst?
- 4:47Speaker 3: First couple of times you do something and things are
- 4:48Speaker 3: just happening, Yeah, you're realizing like, oh shit, I'm supposed
- 4:50Speaker 3: to be focused on this.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yeah, when when will did his drive run and they
- 4:55Speaker 3: looked up and just went nottice run.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I thought, oh my god, we remember we stocked into
- 5:01Speaker 2: the whole thing up.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Yeah, and credit to Willie Bompton Man. As soon as
- 5:07Speaker 3: the lights are on, they said, hey.
- 5:09Speaker 1: We're on. I had to go next play.
- 5:11Speaker 2: You crushed it. I had to go absolutely killed. It
- 5:13Speaker 2: was awesome.
- 5:14Speaker 4: And then the dry run.
- 5:16Speaker 5: To be clear, there's nothing scripted about the game except
- 5:19Speaker 5: the first five minutes before it kicks off, which is all.
- 5:22Speaker 5: We had to do a dry run, and the producers
- 5:24Speaker 5: were in the truck like, hey, let's do a dry run,
- 5:26Speaker 5: and we are supposed to go in order, and they
- 5:28Speaker 5: got preset packages and we got it timed out when
- 5:31Speaker 5: the anthem's gonna happen, when the teams are going to
- 5:32Speaker 5: take the field, And you dropped this like forty five
- 5:35Speaker 5: second to minute and a half, just nugget of wisdom
- 5:39Speaker 5: about offensive line play.
- 5:41Speaker 4: And they come in our ears like, Taylor, that's great.
- 5:43Speaker 4: That has nothing to do with what we're talking about
- 5:44Speaker 4: right now. Queue it back up, start the try run.
- 5:48Speaker 3: So what's wild is I'm learning about this right now
- 5:51Speaker 3: because I never heard the producer say that.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Great points I wasn't hearing it either.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I was just I was hearing the monologue Taylor was
- 5:59Speaker 1: going on and seeing the screen switch and everything else.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Just kind of chuckling to myself like I'm thinking, like,
- 6:05Speaker 1: I'm sure we're probably supposed to have to get back
- 6:06Speaker 1: g Pot somewhere in here.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, long boy man, long winded boy. And then
- 6:11Speaker 3: when it's like so loud and Josh, You're like, you
- 6:13Speaker 3: clearly look at one of us. One time you and
- 6:15Speaker 3: I made eye contact and you're talking, I can barely
- 6:17Speaker 3: hear you. And as you're speaking to me, Kaitlyn comes
- 6:20Speaker 3: in over you, and so it goes jump, I can
- 6:22Speaker 3: hear you two. I'm just trying to read your lips
- 6:24Speaker 3: now and I just stare you for and I'm like,
- 6:27Speaker 3: I got in my head most of that kills Hey,
- 6:30Speaker 3: by the way, I'm thinking of myself, Kaitlyn. This is
- 6:33Speaker 3: the worst time he's looking right at me. I'm supposed
- 6:36Speaker 3: to talk next year. I have no idea what he
- 6:38Speaker 3: wants me to talk about. Here we go, We're gonna
- 6:39Speaker 3: be going to commercial in like ten seconds. Yeah, I
- 6:43Speaker 3: just started talking, and I'm like, oh, ship, all right, I.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Hear hearing her talk over the year, knowing that we
- 6:49Speaker 1: can't hear ourselves, and then just witnessing Josh continue to
- 6:52Speaker 1: stay and flow state going into commercial, I was like.
- 6:55Speaker 5: You know what it is to do with a pro
- 6:56Speaker 5: you know what it lets you know, it lets you
- 6:58Speaker 5: know never sit at home and hate on an announcer
- 7:01Speaker 5: for getting a name wrong, or for tripping over a word,
- 7:04Speaker 5: or for occasionally, like mispronouncing the town they're in. Those
- 7:09Speaker 5: dudes have air traffic control in their ears, and it's
- 7:13Speaker 5: like a very, very roided up version of what we
- 7:16Speaker 5: were doing.
- 7:16Speaker 4: We had minimum traffic in our ears.
- 7:18Speaker 5: If you're doing legit like play by play in the booth,
- 7:20Speaker 5: you got thirty seven different voices in your ear, Like, yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 5: if I pronounce a name wrong every now and then,
- 7:25Speaker 5: not the worst thing in the.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Work, wind, fight or flight the entire time.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:29Speaker 2: The one time I'm breaking this is it.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I'm breaking down number three c J al and I'm
- 7:33Speaker 1: going on this huge rant and it was number zero.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Their d tackle talking about the guy talking about the
- 7:37Speaker 1: alpha the SEC correction hand up.
- 7:40Speaker 2: That is not CJ.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Allen.
- 7:41Speaker 2: You're gonna get that a few times from Willie See
- 7:43Speaker 2: on this all.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Cast thought that was a great ownership.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Though.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Don't wait for the quality control email Monday morning.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Just own it on air because you know everyone's yelling
- 7:51Speaker 5: at you on the TV anyway.
- 7:52Speaker 1: So this dude is an idiot, Well there he is.
- 7:55Speaker 2: He's calling himself an idiot. We're gonna hear it a
- 7:57Speaker 2: few more times, boys.
- 7:58Speaker 1: C J.
- 7:58Speaker 5: Allen, really good player though, really good Who was your
- 8:02Speaker 5: favorite guest that we had?
- 8:03Speaker 6: What did you guys think about? Like Taylor, Josh, You
- 8:06Speaker 6: guys obviously were speaking with your inside voices. Will just
- 8:09Speaker 6: felt like he was screaming the whole time.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Yeah, Will was Will was the night before WrestleMania ninety three,
- 8:14Speaker 5: Will went full Ultimate Warrior.
- 8:16Speaker 4: I was really surprised. No face paint, that was all.
- 8:19Speaker 2: That was a little, a little bit.
- 8:21Speaker 1: There was a part of me that started thinking about
- 8:23Speaker 1: it before the game, but I was like, let's not
- 8:25Speaker 1: let's not get too obnoxious.
- 8:26Speaker 5: We talked. We talked to the lower level, He talked
- 8:30Speaker 5: to the three hundreds. Yeah, he talked to the upper deck. Yeah,
- 8:34Speaker 5: you're in every man's.
- 8:35Speaker 3: People in just in a crowded bar watching the game.
- 8:38Speaker 3: He's I want to make sure everyone.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Can hear Will.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Will's the Roman Emperor in the coliseum before technology exists. Yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 5: I've just got to speak with my outdoor voice or
- 8:46Speaker 5: these people aren't going to hear me. I gotta yell
- 8:48Speaker 5: kill and it's got to echo around this entire building.
- 8:51Speaker 4: But PI he brought when.
- 8:54Speaker 3: If you watch back, I'm sure there's a couple of
- 8:56Speaker 3: times if we're on camera and Will starts to talk,
- 8:58Speaker 3: I'll just go to my f like turn it down
- 9:00Speaker 3: for a second. If it finishes it, I'll just like
- 9:02Speaker 3: go back and turn it up. So else because dude,
- 9:05Speaker 3: I don't know about you guys, but like when I
- 9:06Speaker 3: got home, my ear was ringing until like two o'clock
- 9:09Speaker 3: the next day.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yeah, like just because do you have two in two?
- 9:13Speaker 2: I had two.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Guys just started talking to me.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I'm like trying to get to his other ear because
- 9:21Speaker 3: I'm assuming and he's like leaning that ear and I'm like, no,
- 9:23Speaker 3: I'm trying to speak to just you nobody.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And then my hand on, let me get this thing
- 9:25Speaker 1: out of my ears, And I really.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Got both of them.
- 9:27Speaker 3: I just have the one in my right ear, so
- 9:29Speaker 3: I can kind of like, I don't know, I feel
- 9:31Speaker 3: with that much.
- 9:32Speaker 2: You kind of think like you're in a little more
- 9:33Speaker 2: of a bubble.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Oh, I very much felt like I was in a bubble. Yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 1: anybody was talking to me. I was like, hang on
- 9:37Speaker 1: a second, I just give him.
- 9:40Speaker 2: That's my only chance of hearing you.
- 9:41Speaker 3: It was so confused with me for like the first
- 9:43Speaker 3: thirty minutes, I'm like, why can't he just hear the
- 9:45Speaker 3: words coming on my mouth?
- 9:46Speaker 2: We're in a commercial, right, no one's screaming.
- 9:48Speaker 4: It was great too.
- 9:48Speaker 5: We got Sean Alexander that walked up, We got Brandon
- 9:51Speaker 5: Spikes walks up. We had Quavo later in the show,
- 9:54Speaker 5: later in the broadcast, walks up. And they're walking up
- 9:56Speaker 5: and they're talking to you, and you have no clue
- 9:57Speaker 5: what they're saying, and you you either put your own
- 10:00Speaker 5: mic up to their face, or if you don't want
- 10:03Speaker 5: to seem really weird and they don't even know what
- 10:04Speaker 5: you're trying to do, you just kind of daffle up.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Yeah. Absolutely, absolutely, Yeah.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Meanwhile, they walked up for all you know.
- 10:12Speaker 4: I say, bro, my grandma died last week and I'm
- 10:14Speaker 4: still happy to do the broadcast.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Absolutely, that reminded me of you brought up Sean Alexander.
- 10:20Speaker 1: There was one time we're going into commercial and he
- 10:22Speaker 1: was taking the entire he was talking the entire time.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I'm like giggling to myself.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Here's like, I know Peyton wants to get in here,
- 10:28Speaker 1: but Seawn Alexander's stopping.
- 10:29Speaker 3: He started talking, and I see the monitors go to
- 10:32Speaker 3: the first commercial. He's still talking. He's still talking, and
- 10:35Speaker 3: I'm just looking at him, and Harry's like, like one
- 10:39Speaker 3: a guy.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Harry's making him feel so good.
- 10:42Speaker 5: Right now we're fifteen seconds Aflete commercial. Shawan Alexander's dude.
- 10:45Speaker 5: I remember we played here in ninety nine. Yeah, and
- 10:48Speaker 5: we beat Florida and Spikes is standing over there. It's
- 10:50Speaker 5: the middle of an afflet commercial.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Middle of it.
- 10:52Speaker 4: It was great.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Spikes was awesome.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Yeah he was.
- 10:54Speaker 2: He came in with some serious energy. Could have done
- 10:56Speaker 2: the whole thing.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Yeah, Spikes, Yeah, I can't wait to get him on
- 10:59Speaker 1: the bus. He should be part of the squad.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Mister as well. Be nice to get him on the bus.
- 11:04Speaker 1: He won't Spikes, I could feel like I'm saying, because
- 11:09Speaker 1: he's he's a superstar.
- 11:10Speaker 2: He's a rock star. He's got things to do.
- 11:11Speaker 1: People see, he's gonna he appreciated. He's not like he's
- 11:14Speaker 1: not a bar, that's all. He's not above us. Anytime
- 11:17Speaker 1: we'll see us, he'll he'll dap it up, he'll chop
- 11:19Speaker 1: it up. If we need him for a segment, I'm
- 11:20Speaker 1: sure he'll come on if he's at that place. But
- 11:22Speaker 1: I'm thinking, like I'm thinking over all picture, we can
- 11:24Speaker 1: probably hit of spikes, and Spikes will be ready to
- 11:26Speaker 1: get down to Nash.
- 11:26Speaker 2: No doubt, Spikes will be ready to go.
- 11:34Speaker 6: Let's also posted you guys on his Instagram, so.
- 11:38Speaker 4: I mean.
- 11:41Speaker 1: They follow him.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I don't know he was like that, like I you know,
- 11:48Speaker 3: I still got a k next to mine, which is
- 11:55Speaker 3: let's dive then before we get into Army Navy. Well
- 11:57Speaker 3: that's obviously.
- 11:58Speaker 2: That's the main events.
- 11:59Speaker 3: The main event Miami Notre Dame. And you said I
- 12:02Speaker 3: didn't write this, but Alabama should be in there as well.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Have we not cleared the air on the playoff? Like,
- 12:08Speaker 3: where do you sit right now when you look at
- 12:10Speaker 3: these twelve teams?
- 12:12Speaker 1: I sit at it in twenty twenty five this season,
- 12:15Speaker 1: the college will playoff.
- 12:16Speaker 2: The system is broken?
- 12:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree, the process is broken or the system
- 12:20Speaker 5: is broken or are they the same thing?
- 12:23Speaker 4: And this is coming from an industry plant.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I would.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Honestly, I don't even know. I'm kind of nervous speaking
- 12:28Speaker 1: in front of Josh because you know, somewhere in that
- 12:30Speaker 1: ear he's got a bug in there.
- 12:31Speaker 2: There's somebody in New Yorktown. What you say, Yeah, here
- 12:33Speaker 2: he goes, he's wired. There's things to fix.
- 12:37Speaker 1: So to me, it's broken, acbreaker, I agree with you
- 12:44Speaker 1: on that.
- 12:45Speaker 5: Okay, you keep broking me a plant and then agree
- 12:47Speaker 5: with me. I need the stuff that you think I'm wrong. Yeah,
- 12:49Speaker 5: but sorry, are you saying that? Are you saying time out?
- 12:54Speaker 2: Are you saying the system's not broken?
- 12:55Speaker 4: I'm saying the process is broken.
- 12:57Speaker 5: I'm saying the system can't be broken if it gave
- 12:59Speaker 5: me the team I think should be in, not the
- 13:01Speaker 5: G five teams.
- 13:02Speaker 4: That's its own separate thing.
- 13:03Speaker 5: You and I agree G five. You and I agree
- 13:05Speaker 5: on the G five things. Okay, so some broke the
- 13:07Speaker 5: G five thing. We all agree with that. If we
- 13:09Speaker 5: could take that and we could set it on the table,
- 13:11Speaker 5: we agree on that. The rest of it, which came
- 13:14Speaker 5: down to the whole Miami Notre Dame, Alabama thing, it
- 13:17Speaker 5: gave me the teams that I thought should be in.
- 13:19Speaker 4: So obviously I don't.
- 13:20Speaker 5: Think the entire system is broken, but the process the
- 13:24Speaker 5: Tuesday night rankings release Hunter you' acheck the like North
- 13:28Speaker 5: Korean style propagandizing right up until the eleventh hour, and
- 13:32Speaker 5: then they just flip the pancake on Notre Dame.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Notre Dame's rightfully irate about that. They opted out of.
- 13:37Speaker 5: Their bowl game, which I thought was a little extreme,
- 13:39Speaker 5: but still I understand why they feel that way. And
- 13:41Speaker 5: so even if you did get it right, even if
- 13:43Speaker 5: the product is right, if the process is wrong, you
- 13:46Speaker 5: just like fomented distrust in the entire thing. So from that,
- 13:50Speaker 5: from that angle, yes, the model or the system is broken,
- 13:53Speaker 5: but I don't think the results were broken.
- 13:55Speaker 4: If that makes any sense.
- 13:56Speaker 1: It makes a little bit of sense. But Notre Dame
- 13:59Speaker 1: all the way up until that point, like Notre Dame
- 14:01Speaker 1: got squeezed out of the College for Will playoff. Yes,
- 14:03Speaker 1: like we watched with their own eyes Alabama get whooped
- 14:07Speaker 1: by Georgia.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Yep, we're up there.
- 14:08Speaker 1: And I'm not saying by you should have been in.
- 14:10Speaker 1: All the way up until the very end of the rankings.
- 14:12Speaker 1: We all knew BYU wasn't going to be in. But
- 14:15Speaker 1: the way they talked about BYU. We saw what happened
- 14:18Speaker 1: on the football field today and that kind of you know,
- 14:21Speaker 1: they were never going to be in the equation. We
- 14:23Speaker 1: bumped them back, and then you go into full protection
- 14:25Speaker 1: mode for Alabama that they don't even drop a ranking.
- 14:28Speaker 1: So what I'm saying is Notre Dame was sitting at nine.
- 14:32Speaker 1: And by the way, they never really explained why they
- 14:34Speaker 1: flipped Alabama. Notre Dame. Hunter sat up there and talked
- 14:36Speaker 1: about they had a gutsy call on fourth down when
- 14:39Speaker 1: they survived Auburn, and Notre Dame whooped Stanford, but they
- 14:42Speaker 1: flipped your boys.
- 14:42Speaker 5: Here explained it to you. I told you what they
- 14:45Speaker 5: were doing. Insurance policies.
- 14:47Speaker 4: I told you what was coming.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Yeah, an insurance policy in case we got the doomsday
- 14:51Speaker 1: scenario that you called a long time ago there, which.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Is amazing that the doomsday scenario that you've been talking
- 14:56Speaker 3: about for multiple weeks literally took it took place.
- 14:58Speaker 5: But also like, let's all right, so that's corrupt. What
- 15:01Speaker 5: you said is corrupt the I guess the fallacy, but
- 15:05Speaker 5: that's not really the right word. The flaw in their
- 15:08Speaker 5: entire approach is they overcorrected to begin with, so my viewpoint,
- 15:12Speaker 5: I got to zoom out the telescope a little bit.
- 15:14Speaker 5: My viewpoint is Bama should have already been ahead of
- 15:17Speaker 5: Notre Dame. But I also believed Miami should have already
- 15:20Speaker 5: been ahead of Notre Dame. But they really knee jerked
- 15:22Speaker 5: several times in this whole process. They knee jerked in
- 15:25Speaker 5: that when the rankings came out. That was I think
- 15:28Speaker 5: right after Bama lost to Oklahoma, or either the rankings
- 15:30Speaker 5: came out then Bama lost to Oklahoma. They dropped them
- 15:33Speaker 5: like six pots, which was way too far. So that
- 15:35Speaker 5: was point one. Point two was when the rankings came out,
- 15:39Speaker 5: Miami was at eighteen, which was too low.
- 15:41Speaker 4: We said that at the time.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I didn't even know that we were going to head
- 15:43Speaker 5: towards this conclusion, but I said at the time, there's
- 15:45Speaker 5: no way Miami should be that low and Notre Dame
- 15:47Speaker 5: should be that high. The third part, Notre Dame being
- 15:50Speaker 5: that high, I thought was sort of predictive. They were
- 15:52Speaker 5: putting Notre Dame high in preparation for what they thought
- 15:55Speaker 5: Notre Dame was going to do.
- 15:57Speaker 4: But that's not what you should be doing with the ranking.
- 15:59Speaker 5: Your ranking should solely reflect the body of work not well, yeah,
- 16:03Speaker 5: we know Notre Dames lost two games, but we think
- 16:05Speaker 5: they're going to go on a run, so we're already
- 16:06Speaker 5: gonna put them where they would be if they went
- 16:08Speaker 5: on that run, because then what you did is times three,
- 16:11Speaker 5: you made a big mess down the road where you
- 16:13Speaker 5: had to correct it. Because what they're hopeing is they
- 16:15Speaker 5: can screw the rankings up and then the teams will
- 16:18Speaker 5: just sort it out for them, kind of like Lane
- 16:20Speaker 5: Kiff in an Old miss. They knew if he was
- 16:22Speaker 5: going to leave that they weren't going to let him
- 16:24Speaker 5: coach the playoff, but they kept on putting off facing
- 16:27Speaker 5: that fact because they just hoped the world would work
- 16:29Speaker 5: itself out. Well, it didn't, and then it got really
- 16:31Speaker 5: messy at the end. The playoff committee didn't do their
- 16:34Speaker 5: job properly, so it got really messy at the end,
- 16:36Speaker 5: and so then people have like this tunnel vision. They
- 16:39Speaker 5: got the racehorse blinders on and all they see is
- 16:42Speaker 5: that final snapshot, which is totally fair. It's not the
- 16:45Speaker 5: public's job to do the committee's job, and so the
- 16:47Speaker 5: public looks at it and sees just what you said
- 16:50Speaker 5: and just what I said, which is independent of what
- 16:53Speaker 5: I think should have been.
- 16:54Speaker 4: What was was Notre Dame.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Was ahead of Miami going into the final week, neither
- 16:58Speaker 5: of them played, and then all of a sudden the
- 17:00Speaker 5: eleventh hour, the Committee came in and said, well, you
- 17:02Speaker 5: know there's a head to head.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Between these teams, we need to flip them.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Well, the head to he was their last week and
- 17:06Speaker 5: two weeks ago, and three weeks ago, it's been there
- 17:08Speaker 5: all season.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Yeah. That's my point is when you're looking at deep
- 17:11Speaker 1: state college football and big conference, they're talking to us
- 17:15Speaker 1: like they're talking to America, like we're all idiots, and
- 17:17Speaker 1: we can't see through what they had to do in
- 17:19Speaker 1: the eleventh hour because the way it was set up
- 17:22Speaker 1: like Notre Dame was again number nine for a long
- 17:26Speaker 1: period of time until they dropped a ten. We go
- 17:28Speaker 1: into conference championship weekend and everybody talks about should conference
- 17:32Speaker 1: championship games meet anything?
- 17:33Speaker 2: Should they not mean anything?
- 17:35Speaker 1: We saw two teams BYU and their championship game, Bama
- 17:39Speaker 1: and their championship get whooped, and again the Committee went
- 17:42Speaker 1: in full protection mode on Bama and protected their ranking
- 17:46Speaker 1: at large because we were having the conversation the night before.
- 17:48Speaker 1: This is one where Notre Dame and Bama are now
- 17:51Speaker 1: side by side. They could easily flip back to where
- 17:53Speaker 1: Notre Dame is now nine, because again they still never
- 17:56Speaker 1: explained why they put bam my head in the first place.
- 17:59Speaker 1: But we all knew the insurance policy. But now Alabama
- 18:02Speaker 1: sitting there at nine, they got whooped. They sit there
- 18:04Speaker 1: and talk about BYU their ranking didn't get protected out large.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I know they were never in the College wall playoffs.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I know they were never getting in unless they want,
- 18:12Speaker 1: but they still drop to get Miami right next to
- 18:15Speaker 1: Notre Dame and now on their feeding everybody that had
- 18:18Speaker 1: the head game, which is that's what they want everybody
- 18:20Speaker 1: eating at. But if Virginia wins, Miami's not getting Notre
- 18:23Speaker 1: Dame is in the college football playoffs, Virginia is getting in.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Does that make sense?
- 18:28Speaker 2: That makes sense?
- 18:28Speaker 4: Two things? All right?
- 18:29Speaker 5: So you asked, what do you mean about the ACC tiebreakers?
- 18:31Speaker 5: So I'm gonna hit that in a second, because that
- 18:32Speaker 5: would have fixed everything. That's simply young people are making
- 18:37Speaker 5: this argument, and people are saying, hey, why did Brigham
- 18:40Speaker 5: Young fall? But Alabama didn't fall because they look the same.
- 18:43Speaker 5: On Saturday, both of them are in conference championship games.
- 18:46Speaker 5: Both of them lose convincingly. Brigham Young drops what they
- 18:49Speaker 5: dropped one spot, two.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Spots, dropped enough to just ki Miami next.
- 18:52Speaker 5: Even if they dropped in one spot, they dropped further
- 18:54Speaker 5: than Alabama, Becausbama didn't drop a right. A couple of
- 18:57Speaker 5: things that if I wanted to play Devil's advocate, if
- 18:59Speaker 5: I was a deep plant, and I may be, what
- 19:02Speaker 5: I would say is one of them is a comfortable truth,
- 19:05Speaker 5: and that is Brigham Young winning got smoked by a
- 19:08Speaker 5: team that already smoked them before. Bama went and got
- 19:11Speaker 5: smoked by a team they beat in their own building
- 19:14Speaker 5: earlier in the season. So at least Bama's track record
- 19:16Speaker 5: has a win over Georgia this year. B why you
- 19:19Speaker 5: never got close to Texas Tech. The second thing, this
- 19:22Speaker 5: is the uncomfortable truth, is what I told you last
- 19:25Speaker 5: week and the week before, and that is, whether people
- 19:27Speaker 5: want to admit it or not, the treatment of conferences
- 19:32Speaker 5: is conditional in college football. The Big Twelve is not
- 19:34Speaker 5: going to get the same respect the SEC does. The
- 19:36Speaker 5: Big Twelve is not going to get the same respect
- 19:38Speaker 5: the Big Ten does. And that's just the way it is.
- 19:40Speaker 5: You don't have to like it, but I'm telling you
- 19:42Speaker 5: that's why that happened. And then the third thing, the
- 19:45Speaker 5: ACC tiebreaker, which I keep glossing over because I think
- 19:48Speaker 5: people live in the weeds of this, but they don't.
- 19:51Speaker 5: If nothing else changed but the ACC fixed their tie breakers,
- 19:55Speaker 5: none of this would have happened.
- 19:56Speaker 2: And what was what needs to be fixed with the
- 19:58Speaker 2: AEC TIB breaks.
- 19:58Speaker 4: All they would need to do.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Everyone's first tie breakers had to head. So if you
- 20:02Speaker 5: and I were six and two in conference, and I
- 20:04Speaker 5: played you and I beat you, I get the tiebreaker.
- 20:06Speaker 5: That's that's universal. The second tiebreaker should be conference standings
- 20:12Speaker 5: based on the college football playoff rankings. So if we've
- 20:15Speaker 5: got a five way tie in the ACC, it doesn't
- 20:18Speaker 5: come down to what a sixth grade calculations equate to
- 20:22Speaker 5: or whatever like, it should be the college football playoff rankings.
- 20:26Speaker 5: And in that case, Miami would have gone to Charlotte
- 20:29Speaker 5: and they probably would have won convincingly. Miami would have
- 20:32Speaker 5: been the ACC's team and it would have been a
- 20:35Speaker 5: moot point. Bama would have been in only one G
- 20:37Speaker 5: five team would have been in. Notre Dame would have
- 20:39Speaker 5: been in, and Miami would have been in. Yeah, instead,
- 20:42Speaker 5: we got this because the ACC couldn't get out of
- 20:44Speaker 5: its own way to the point where a five loss
- 20:46Speaker 5: team ended up in their conference title game.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Virginia couldn't get the job done with the ACC.
- 20:52Speaker 1: You wouldn't have to, you wouldn't have the two.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Yeah, you wouldn't have those two G five And if
- 20:57Speaker 5: Virginia got your job done, there's not that much different
- 20:59Speaker 5: than virgin and a G five team like Virginia is
- 21:02Speaker 5: going to be a sixteen some odd point dog, whereas
- 21:05Speaker 5: James Madison's a twenty one point dog. Either way, there's
- 21:08Speaker 5: going to be a huge gap, Like there's gonna be
- 21:10Speaker 5: an undeserving team by universal standards in the playoff either way,
- 21:13Speaker 5: Whereas if Miami would have gone to Charlotte one, at
- 21:17Speaker 5: least you have a playoff caliber team. At least you
- 21:19Speaker 5: have a team loaded up with future Sunday guys, a
- 21:21Speaker 5: team that realistically could make noise. You don't say that
- 21:25Speaker 5: about Tulane, you don't say that about James Madison. Now,
- 21:28Speaker 5: if we could broach this for just a second, the
- 21:30Speaker 5: whole G five inclusion thing, I think a lot of
- 21:33Speaker 5: people make faulty arguments about why the G five shouldn't
- 21:37Speaker 5: be in the playoff. So you've got people who think
- 21:38Speaker 5: the G five should be in the playoff. So we'll
- 21:40Speaker 5: do this again. They're on the table here, they're not
- 21:43Speaker 5: part of this conversation. You already have your opinion. There
- 21:46Speaker 5: are those of us, are you, and yeah, you're definitely man,
- 21:50Speaker 5: You're mister ANTIG five.
- 21:51Speaker 2: So not I respect you.
- 21:53Speaker 5: You You desrise the very fiber of the being of
- 21:56Speaker 5: a player on a G five ord Michigan.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Yes, so I would.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Say road State to argue for Taylor when we were
- 22:02Speaker 1: first talking about right here, okay, well defending Taylor when
- 22:06Speaker 1: we were first talking about the G five teams on busting.
- 22:09Speaker 1: It's more so twenty twenty five watching the G five
- 22:12Speaker 1: teams knowing like none of these teams should be in
- 22:14Speaker 1: the college close, not with the way we're arguing about
- 22:17Speaker 1: all of these other teams that are on the bubble.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yes, you are believe every G five school like remembers
- 22:24Speaker 2: Boise State, Oklahoma, Fiesta Bowl, AB State, Michigan.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Well okay, all right, I'm just I mean a State
- 22:30Speaker 3: Michigan as well, Gain And then they think, oh, we
- 22:32Speaker 3: could do all these things. But that's like, hey, bois
- 22:35Speaker 3: State that year in the Fiesta Bowl. I guess olomost
- 22:37Speaker 3: an outlier. If the College Will Playoff was structured at
- 22:39Speaker 3: twelve teams, I agree they should probably be.
- 22:41Speaker 2: They would probably be like seven Boise State making it
- 22:43Speaker 2: last year.
- 22:43Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, okay, I could see this team coming
- 22:45Speaker 3: in being a little destructive or making games closely at
- 22:48Speaker 3: least competitive. But I don't think G five teams should
- 22:52Speaker 3: just get a bit in because it's fair, like we
- 22:55Speaker 3: all all have to be equal to making sure that
- 22:56Speaker 3: everyone is represented somehow, like college football has been.
- 23:00Speaker 2: These kids go from.
- 23:00Speaker 3: High school, they're one percenters, they get to go play football,
- 23:03Speaker 3: whether it's a big school, small school, whatever. When it
- 23:05Speaker 3: comes to the College Fool Playoff, I want the twelve
- 23:07Speaker 3: best teams that are going to be the best matchups
- 23:11Speaker 3: down to the wire games that can sit there and
- 23:13Speaker 3: be like who truly is the best team? Because the
- 23:16Speaker 3: only I keep bringing up Vanderbilt and Texas can be
- 23:19Speaker 3: in the conversation too. It's in like Notre Dame, like
- 23:22Speaker 3: they all should have a good argument to be in
- 23:25Speaker 3: the College Wall playoffs. We get it was never an
- 23:27Speaker 3: option because one G five team has to make it
- 23:29Speaker 3: and now because the ACC can hold, they're into the
- 23:31Speaker 3: bargain of being a power for conference, they two G five.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Teams have to get in.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Yep.
- 23:36Speaker 3: I have respect for both those teams, but I do
- 23:39Speaker 3: not think they should be in the College World playoffs right.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I think there's there's you see, yah, the system's broken,
- 23:45Speaker 1: systems broke.
- 23:47Speaker 3: But here the thing I love about this season, though,
- 23:49Speaker 3: is stuff like this has to happen for change to
- 23:54Speaker 3: take place because a lot of people. I've seen a
- 23:55Speaker 3: lot of people go, hey, we gotta go to six team,
- 23:56Speaker 3: we gotta go.
- 23:57Speaker 2: To twenty four.
- 23:57Speaker 3: It's like, if you keep kicking the can down the
- 23:59Speaker 3: road more and more teams. And a couple weeks ago
- 24:01Speaker 3: I said he, I was like, I kind of like
- 24:02Speaker 3: the idea of sixteen. I don't like the idea of
- 24:05Speaker 3: sixteen right now because the process, the timing, the calendar
- 24:08Speaker 3: has to change for the count for the playoff bracket
- 24:11Speaker 3: to be correct. Then we can go and look at
- 24:13Speaker 3: the sixteen, the twenty four whatever people want to do,
- 24:16Speaker 3: the playing games, those types of things. But if it's
- 24:19Speaker 3: not fixed at twelve, it's not going to be fixed
- 24:20Speaker 3: at sixteen because we're gonna have the same argument just
- 24:22Speaker 3: down the road.
- 24:23Speaker 4: So I agree with you. The three of us largely
- 24:27Speaker 4: agree on this G five stance.
- 24:28Speaker 5: But here's what I want to say to anyone out
- 24:30Speaker 5: there watching, because there are a lot of debates about this,
- 24:32Speaker 5: and people get themselves caught up in debates, and one
- 24:35Speaker 5: of the worst stances you can take about the G
- 24:37Speaker 5: five view is I don't think G five teams should
- 24:40Speaker 5: be in because they can't compete in the playoff. I
- 24:43Speaker 5: don't think JMU should be in because they're going to
- 24:46Speaker 5: get blown out by Oregon. It leaves this really, really
- 24:48Speaker 5: obvious hole in your theory.
- 24:50Speaker 4: And that is what happens.
- 24:52Speaker 5: If they go out there and it's a competitive game
- 24:53Speaker 5: in the fourth quarter, your argument is shot.
- 24:56Speaker 4: That shouldn't be your argument.
- 24:58Speaker 5: Like what your argument should be is, I don't think
- 24:59Speaker 5: G five team should be in the playoff because here's
- 25:01Speaker 5: my argument. I don't think G five team should be
- 25:03Speaker 5: the plaoff because they don't meet the minimum baseline of
- 25:05Speaker 5: struggle during the regular season that it should take to
- 25:08Speaker 5: merit playoff inclusion. I was looking at the schedule last night.
- 25:11Speaker 5: I took JMU and I took Oklahoma, and I put
- 25:14Speaker 5: them next to each other. And I just looked at
- 25:16Speaker 5: our power ratings, they're going to be similar with everyone's
- 25:17Speaker 5: power ratings, like FanDuel would have roughly the same numbers.
- 25:20Speaker 5: JMU played no teams power rated top thirty. They played
- 25:25Speaker 5: one team power rated top fifty, and they lost to
- 25:28Speaker 5: them by fourteen points. That's Louisville. Outside of that, their
- 25:32Speaker 5: toughest opponents are. Their toughest opponent was Old Dominion, who's
- 25:36Speaker 5: number fifty two. That's their best win over number fifty two.
- 25:40Speaker 5: Oklahoma played eight teams power rated in the top thirty.
- 25:43Speaker 5: They're not playing the same sport, so I don't My
- 25:47Speaker 5: argument about the G five would be the same whether
- 25:49Speaker 5: JMU gets beat fifty to nothing or whether they legit
- 25:53Speaker 5: going upset organ That proves nothing to me because I
- 25:56Speaker 5: don't judge you based on what I think you would
- 25:58Speaker 5: be capable of. I judge you base what I think
- 26:00Speaker 5: you earned. And my very simple stance on G five
- 26:03Speaker 5: is the strength of schedule that they play does not
- 26:06Speaker 5: warrant inclusion into the playoff because you're not playing the
- 26:08Speaker 5: same caliber football. You're not playing the same caliber of opponent.
- 26:11Speaker 5: So like and the other thing is, if people want
- 26:13Speaker 5: to go back and point out the upsets in the past, dude,
- 26:16Speaker 5: the boiss of like the late two thousands, those teams
- 26:20Speaker 5: would murder current G five teams because you didn't have
- 26:23Speaker 5: the transfer portal and NIO. That works the way it
- 26:25Speaker 5: works right now. The way it works now is anything
- 26:28Speaker 5: that is like the slightest blinking light on these G
- 26:32Speaker 5: five rosters immediately gets posts. Yeah, by the big boys.
- 26:36Speaker 5: It happens with coaches too. We're watching both of these
- 26:39Speaker 5: teams in the playoff whose head coaches already took Power
- 26:42Speaker 5: four jobs. The players do the same thing, So it's
- 26:46Speaker 5: impossible for a G five program to ever start to
- 26:49Speaker 5: elevate to the level where they would be remotely comparable
- 26:52Speaker 5: to the big boys. So then people listen to that
- 26:55Speaker 5: and they stop listening really thirty seconds in, and they
- 26:57Speaker 5: just think, oh, man, you must hate the G five.
- 26:59Speaker 5: Why do you hate the little guy? Why do you
- 27:01Speaker 5: hate us having a seat at the table?
- 27:03Speaker 4: I don't.
- 27:03Speaker 5: I just wish you had your own table that made
- 27:05Speaker 5: sense and it gave you enough to eat to where
- 27:08Speaker 5: if you really do get big enough, you take the
- 27:10Speaker 5: place of one of the weaker guys up at the
- 27:12Speaker 5: head table. Because we got plenty of weak chairs at
- 27:14Speaker 5: the head table. So if you want promotion and relegation
- 27:17Speaker 5: to where you're not permanently banished to table number two.
- 27:20Speaker 5: But we're also acknowledging there's a clear difference in Louisiana
- 27:24Speaker 5: State University and Louisiana Monroe University. That's the world I
- 27:28Speaker 5: would love to live in. It sounds so logical, and
- 27:30Speaker 5: then they just they beat it like a piniona right.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Yeah, for me and for G five's to even have
- 27:36Speaker 3: a conversation. To get in the playoff, it would have
- 27:38Speaker 3: to be like, you're twelve and oh.
- 27:39Speaker 4: It's obvious without an auto bid.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Yes you're you're twelve and oh and you're winning. You're
- 27:44Speaker 3: winning all your games by multiple time shows. And it's like,
- 27:47Speaker 3: to them it might be unfair, but based on like
- 27:49Speaker 3: the old dominion being their best win. As Jamie you
- 27:51Speaker 3: were talking about, yeah, being their best win. It's like
- 27:54Speaker 3: that's crazy to me.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Yeah, ol.
- 27:56Speaker 2: When someone says old.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Dominion to me, I think about a band, not a football,
- 27:59Speaker 3: maybe the freight line. It's like, that's nuts. And now
- 28:03Speaker 3: we got to deal with those two teams. The thing
- 28:04Speaker 3: I do love, though, is like now we get into
- 28:06Speaker 3: and I thought like one of your points was maybe
- 28:09Speaker 3: the best point is like, to get into collegeable playoff
- 28:11Speaker 3: you have, did we have a minimum ranking and.
- 28:13Speaker 4: Or a minimum struggle struggle?
- 28:16Speaker 5: Yeah, It's like if I could be the top ranked
- 28:20Speaker 5: figure skater in the world and you could be number seven,
- 28:24Speaker 5: but if you actually have to go and do all
- 28:26Speaker 5: the flips and the triple axles and stuff, and I
- 28:29Speaker 5: just kind of skate around on a pond, it doesn't
- 28:32Speaker 5: really matter what people think I would be capable of.
- 28:35Speaker 5: He actually went and performed under pressure with judges and
- 28:38Speaker 5: people looking at him, and maybe the ice wasn't as
- 28:40Speaker 5: smooth because the little Zamboni machine didn't even clear it
- 28:43Speaker 5: off for you. You had to go out in the trenches
- 28:45Speaker 5: and you had to earn it. I'm just sitting over
- 28:47Speaker 5: here saying, well, think about what I could do. It
- 28:50Speaker 5: doesn't matter what you could do, right. That's why, like
- 28:53Speaker 5: I think it's it's the dumb slant of an argument
- 28:56Speaker 5: to just say, oh, I don't think James Madison should
- 28:58Speaker 5: be in cause they're going to go get killed. Like
- 29:00Speaker 5: with SMU last year, I thought SMU did belong in
- 29:03Speaker 5: the playoff because I thought they earned it through meeting
- 29:06Speaker 5: a minimum threshold of strength to schedule. Then they went
- 29:09Speaker 5: and got blown out by Penn State, and a lot
- 29:11Speaker 5: of people said, oh, that's proof they didn't belong.
- 29:13Speaker 4: No, it's not.
- 29:14Speaker 5: It's just proof they're not as good as Penn State. Yeah,
- 29:16Speaker 5: but they belonged in the playoff. Conversely, JMU could go
- 29:19Speaker 5: play Oregon Razor tight and it doesn't prove to me.
- 29:22Speaker 5: My argument's flawed because my argument was never about what
- 29:24Speaker 5: they're technically capable of doing in one four quarter game.
- 29:28Speaker 5: Because what I don't think they could do over the
- 29:30Speaker 5: span of twelve four quarter games is go to Iowa
- 29:34Speaker 5: and go to Penn State and face Indiana and do
- 29:37Speaker 5: what Oregon had to do.
- 29:38Speaker 4: That's what I don't think they could do.
- 29:40Speaker 3: All Right, ladies, gentlemen, we went up this episode to
- 29:41Speaker 3: bring you form Energy. Form Energy delivers best in class
- 29:44Speaker 3: taste with natural flavors and zero sugar. Form Managery has
- 29:48Speaker 3: natural caffeine derived from green Tea. Form comes in a
- 29:51Speaker 3: variety of flavors screaming freedom, that's rocket pop inspired, grape smashed,
- 29:55Speaker 3: blue Blitz, orange fury. It's perfect for those who put
- 29:57Speaker 3: in the worthing about moneyline Matthews as soon as the
- 30:00Speaker 3: games end on Sunday, he wakes up in the morning early,
- 30:03Speaker 3: pops pops up in a form energy and just gets
- 30:06Speaker 3: after it all day long making the correct decisions so
- 30:08Speaker 3: we can keep going viral form energy.
- 30:11Speaker 2: We do the work well said, you said something earlier.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I want to talk about the SEC bias because you
- 30:19Speaker 1: earlier were talking about SEC Big twelve. Big twelve is
- 30:22Speaker 1: never going to be compared to the SEC Big twelves
- 30:25Speaker 1: are going to be comparison to the Big ten. But
- 30:28Speaker 1: also it's like we were on the All cast and
- 30:29Speaker 1: I sat there a couple times in that second half
- 30:31Speaker 1: and I'm looking at the camera and I'm like, putting
- 30:33Speaker 1: Notre Dame in Miami both in the playoff over Alabama.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I think everybody understands that the SEC does carry They
- 30:39Speaker 1: carry the bigger stick, they carry the deeper pockets, They
- 30:42Speaker 1: have the most depth as far as talent different rosters
- 30:45Speaker 1: and teams in the SEC. But that, to me, it
- 30:47Speaker 1: doesn't mean that we should just accept it when we
- 30:50Speaker 1: know that, hey, there is there, very much is SEC
- 30:54Speaker 1: bias coming into this equation because when they put Notre
- 30:56Speaker 1: Dame in Miami in front of the people, and all
- 30:58Speaker 1: we do is nit pick as much as we can
- 31:01Speaker 1: for whatever their resumes are. We talk about their Week
- 31:04Speaker 1: one matchup where Miami beat them by three points. We're
- 31:07Speaker 1: talking about how badly they beat teams who were inferior
- 31:10Speaker 1: to them. But then when Alabama gets in this situation,
- 31:13Speaker 1: they're getting whooped right there in the SEC Championship game,
- 31:15Speaker 1: and you're thinking, well, what was Alabama doing in Week
- 31:19Speaker 1: one when Miami beat Notre Dame by three points? They
- 31:22Speaker 1: were getting mopped by Florida State. And if we're looking
- 31:25Speaker 1: at how are they performing late in the season against
- 31:27Speaker 1: inferior opponents. They beat South Carolina JP no disrespect. They
- 31:31Speaker 1: beat South Carolina by seven points. They had to hang
- 31:33Speaker 1: on to that. They went in they they didn't beat
- 31:36Speaker 1: LSU very badly when LSU had just fired their coach
- 31:38Speaker 1: and Bama was coming off with bye week, I believe.
- 31:41Speaker 1: And then they survive Auburn limp into the SEC Championship,
- 31:45Speaker 1: get whooped by a team that they had beat by
- 31:48Speaker 1: three points earlier in the year. But they got whooped
- 31:50Speaker 1: same way BYU, same way. We've seen ass whoopings happen,
- 31:53Speaker 1: So to me, I'm thinking, I feel like it's justified
- 31:56Speaker 1: when everybody's thinking, Yo, is Alabama a top team that
- 31:59Speaker 1: should be the collegewall playoff over these other teams that
- 32:01Speaker 1: we're arguing about on the bubble because we've seen them
- 32:03Speaker 1: over the last month and they're clearly wounded going into
- 32:06Speaker 1: this thing.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Do you mind if I ask one question before you go.
- 32:09Speaker 5: What I'm going to do over here? Why you ask
- 32:11Speaker 5: is I'm going to zoom the telescope out? Okay, because
- 32:13Speaker 5: I have context. You're not wrong.
- 32:15Speaker 4: I just have context to add to.
- 32:16Speaker 2: I'm with the telescope thing too.
- 32:18Speaker 3: I just I don't want to know if at Obama
- 32:20Speaker 3: did not play Georgia in the SEC Championship and we
- 32:22Speaker 3: didn't set the result that has wiped from our brain.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Do you believe Alabama should have been in the playoff?
- 32:26Speaker 5: Uh?
- 32:26Speaker 2: Yes, Okay.
- 32:27Speaker 3: So if we're going to go into an SEC Championship
- 32:30Speaker 3: where there's two other teams that are in the playoffs
- 32:32Speaker 3: already that didn't earn the right to play in that game,
- 32:35Speaker 3: and we're gonna three three excuse me, and we're gonna
- 32:38Speaker 3: judge those teams. We're gonna judge the two teams that
- 32:40Speaker 3: have earned the right to play in a game for
- 32:43Speaker 3: a championship and we're gonna judge them so much that
- 32:45Speaker 3: they are now losing a chance to which is the
- 32:47Speaker 3: ultimate prize in the national championship. How is that fair
- 32:50Speaker 3: to Alabama because they can lean on eight They had
- 32:53Speaker 3: eight guys out, so I think three or four are
- 32:56Speaker 3: the best some of their best players on the team.
- 32:58Speaker 1: And yeah, to that, I agree, But that to me
- 33:05Speaker 1: is where it's like, the fact that they got protected
- 33:07Speaker 1: with their ninth ranking at large is what blows my
- 33:10Speaker 1: mind because again, they can still earn their way into
- 33:13Speaker 1: the playoff because you move them down to ten, they're
- 33:15Speaker 1: still in the playoff in that situation. And to me,
- 33:18Speaker 1: it's like, are these championship games, like what do they
- 33:20Speaker 1: even mean to everybody? Because if Bama wins, they all
- 33:23Speaker 1: of a sudden, we're talking them getting the potential by
- 33:25Speaker 1: week they get to jump up so many slots, it's
- 33:27Speaker 1: a reward. It's like, okay, if they mean if the
- 33:30Speaker 1: championship teams mean nothing for the teams that lose that
- 33:33Speaker 1: are already positioned in the College Wabill Playoff, it's like,
- 33:36Speaker 1: all right, this is a dumb argument, but it's like,
- 33:38Speaker 1: all right, so Ohio State lost by three why should
- 33:40Speaker 1: they lose. They're at large ranking still being the number
- 33:43Speaker 1: one team, But I know that's just a flip. They're
- 33:44Speaker 1: playing for the one seed. Yeah, I'm just taking multiple
- 33:47Speaker 1: movement overall. Why are we moving teams? Why? Okay, b Y,
- 33:51Speaker 1: you got whooped again protecting they're at large ranking at eleven,
- 33:53Speaker 1: why do they have to get moved down.
- 33:55Speaker 3: If two teams play each other in a championship game
- 33:57Speaker 3: and the winner of that game got a buy that's
- 34:00Speaker 3: worth playing for.
- 34:01Speaker 5: Also, Alabama plays that game knowing, Hey, if we win it, yeah,
- 34:04Speaker 5: that's what we're playing for. We're playing for a conference title,
- 34:06Speaker 5: and we're playing to jump up into the by Terrace Hill. Yeah,
- 34:09Speaker 5: if they lose it, even if they're still in it's
- 34:12Speaker 5: not like they got They didn't get punished because they
- 34:14Speaker 5: end up being one of the only teams in the
- 34:16Speaker 5: playoff that ended up having to play five games to
- 34:19Speaker 5: win a national title. Like from the end of the
- 34:21Speaker 5: regular season, you go play your conference title game, we'll
- 34:25Speaker 5: miss it.
- 34:26Speaker 4: A and M's not. Oklahoma's not. They're sitting at home.
- 34:28Speaker 5: So if you go playing Atlanta and you lose, it's
- 34:30Speaker 5: not like that game didn't happen, right, it's not like
- 34:32Speaker 5: the bumps and bruises didn't happen exactly. Then you don't
- 34:34Speaker 5: get a first round by so you got four more
- 34:36Speaker 5: to go. After that, you end up playing five games,
- 34:39Speaker 5: which is probably impossible for them to win a national title.
- 34:42Speaker 5: But go back to the telescope, if we zoom it
- 34:43Speaker 5: out a little bit, they did get smoked by Florida
- 34:45Speaker 5: State at the beginning of the year. They did get
- 34:47Speaker 5: smoked at the end of the year by Georgia. They
- 34:50Speaker 5: did look suspect on the road against South Carolina. They
- 34:54Speaker 5: did look they looked okay, like they covered against LSU.
- 34:57Speaker 5: It's just defense had to carry it diverdly. They did
- 35:00Speaker 5: have to hold on against Auburn. All that stuff happened,
- 35:03Speaker 5: But it's important to note that right before that, they
- 35:06Speaker 5: had that stretch where they had to play at Georgia
- 35:10Speaker 5: with one of the best wins in the season, going
- 35:12Speaker 5: on the road and winning in Athens, and then they
- 35:14Speaker 5: had to play Vanderbilt and beat them by double digits,
- 35:16Speaker 5: and then they had to go on the road before
- 35:18Speaker 5: Missouri was injured and their season was shot, and they
- 35:20Speaker 5: beat them on the road, and then they had to
- 35:21Speaker 5: come home and beat Tennessee. So that little four week
- 35:24Speaker 5: stretch that's more impressive than anything anyone went through all year,
- 35:28Speaker 5: I think provides a lot of context in terms of injury,
- 35:31Speaker 5: in terms of vulnerability down the stretch, for why Alabama
- 35:34Speaker 5: looked the way they did. And while everyone's asking, well,
- 35:37Speaker 5: what were you all doing while Notre Dame was busy
- 35:39Speaker 5: playing two top teams in the beginning of the season,
- 35:43Speaker 5: Apply that same logic when Notre Dame was playing that
- 35:46Speaker 5: like jelly middle of their season, what was Alabama doing?
- 35:50Speaker 5: Bama was in the meat of their schedule playing a
- 35:52Speaker 5: troism in a row. Instead of there's one here, then
- 35:55Speaker 5: a month later there's another one. They went boom boom,
- 35:57Speaker 5: boom boom, No bye, go on the road to Columbia
- 36:00Speaker 5: South Carolina, And like that's why I remember when we
- 36:02Speaker 5: wrote that game down and we were just talking about
- 36:05Speaker 5: get out of there by one point, get out of
- 36:06Speaker 5: there by any means necessary, because they're beat to death.
- 36:09Speaker 5: Get to the bye week. However, you can like, it
- 36:11Speaker 5: was just big for me that they won that game period,
- 36:15Speaker 5: having provided the context to what they had just gone through.
- 36:17Speaker 5: So you can apply like you'd apply that logic, but
- 36:21Speaker 5: to me, you gotta apply the whole logic, like you
- 36:22Speaker 5: gotta look at the whole picture. That's why I didn't
- 36:24Speaker 5: think it was unfair that they were in the top
- 36:26Speaker 5: ten nine whatever. You can argue they shouldn't have jumped
- 36:29Speaker 5: Notre Dame right before the final Sunday, But my counter
- 36:32Speaker 5: would be they already should have been ahead of Notre Dame,
- 36:34Speaker 5: so it should have been a moot point, which was
- 36:35Speaker 5: kind of my stants all along. I thought it was
- 36:37Speaker 5: dumb that they weren't ahead of Notre Dame. I thought
- 36:40Speaker 5: it was dumb that Miami wasn't already ahead of Notre Dame,
- 36:42Speaker 5: which provided a lot of the fireworks.
- 36:44Speaker 4: At the end.
- 36:45Speaker 5: But we end up arguing about like the merit of
- 36:47Speaker 5: teams when you ought to be arguing about how like
- 36:50Speaker 5: mind numbingly stupid the process of the committee was. Because
- 36:54Speaker 5: you find out, oh man, a lot of us actually
- 36:56Speaker 5: kind of agree. What are we yelling about. We're yelling
- 36:58Speaker 5: about the committee. That's what you're yelling about up Yeah.
- 37:01Speaker 3: And the way the committee breaks down the games were
- 37:03Speaker 3: going for four, if you know, being it is so
- 37:08Speaker 3: ridiculous when he could literally just use logic to explain
- 37:13Speaker 3: their answers and it's it's simple like Miami head to
- 37:16Speaker 3: head and common opponents were better than Notre Dame, regardless
- 37:19Speaker 3: as the beginning of the season, at the end of season,
- 37:21Speaker 3: whatever it was, Miami should be over them.
- 37:23Speaker 2: That's just what is.
- 37:23Speaker 3: They're more deserving regardless what they're better or not. If
- 37:26Speaker 3: you just say that, is Notre Dame really feeling this
- 37:29Speaker 3: big of a fit We're now they're like breaking all
- 37:30Speaker 3: ties with the ACC.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Now, you remember.
- 37:33Speaker 5: Going into Conference Champions of Saturday, when they jumped Alabama
- 37:36Speaker 5: above Notre Dame. I looked at it and I said, oh, well,
- 37:39Speaker 5: better late than never. You corrected your flaw. Then Hunter
- 37:43Speaker 5: y're Achek, the committee chair, came on camera and Rhese
- 37:46Speaker 5: Davis asked him why Alabama jumped Notre Dame, and that
- 37:50Speaker 5: dude started listing the reasons, and one of the things
- 37:53Speaker 5: he said was, well, you know, they jumped out to
- 37:55Speaker 5: a seventeen to nothing lead. Auburn came back to tie
- 37:58Speaker 5: the game, so they also blew a seventeen to nothing
- 38:02Speaker 5: to lead.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Well, they ran the ball better today.
- 38:04Speaker 5: Well, you know, they had a gutsy call on fourth
- 38:07Speaker 5: and two and I just sat there and I just went, oh, No,
- 38:10Speaker 5: I can't defend this he made They made a move
- 38:13Speaker 5: I agree with, and yet this sounds so bad. Yeah,
- 38:16Speaker 5: I'm gonna have to spend all my time criticizing this,
- 38:19Speaker 5: even though it correlates with a decision that I agree with.
- 38:22Speaker 4: It's the craziest thing that.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Yeah, to me, that's where it's like, if there's accountability
- 38:28Speaker 1: in the college world payoff committee, to see how they're
- 38:30Speaker 1: breaking all this stuff down, because again he sang all
- 38:32Speaker 1: that stuff publicly, making you know, making everybody else feel like.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Yo, we see through all of this bullshit.
- 38:37Speaker 1: We're gonna need a better argument, an argument that you
- 38:39Speaker 1: provided with Alabama the Gaullt being being in the playoff,
- 38:43Speaker 1: and to me, it's like the logic of how that
- 38:46Speaker 1: year ended and everything else, that logic is like, where
- 38:48Speaker 1: is that logic when again, they could just move down
- 38:50Speaker 1: they're still in the playoff and they could just move
- 38:52Speaker 1: down a slot, but they couldn't do it because Virginia
- 38:55Speaker 1: couldn't take care of business for the conference of the
- 38:57Speaker 1: ACC So they needed to find a way. We got
- 39:00Speaker 1: to figure out a way to get to manipulate this.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Get these guys together. Hey, we value the head to
- 39:04Speaker 1: head game It's like that wasn't it. If Virginia wins,
- 39:07Speaker 1: Miami isn't in over Notre Dame. I can't believe this
- 39:11Speaker 1: is now?
- 39:14Speaker 5: Can I full it one more theory to you guys?
- 39:16Speaker 5: This is a very fifty thousand foot theory. So a
- 39:19Speaker 5: lot of people are saying that playoff expansion is the
- 39:22Speaker 5: way you fix all this. I of course disagree with that,
- 39:25Speaker 5: but let's remove the Notre Dame stuff for a second.
- 39:28Speaker 5: Think about Vandy, think about Texas, think about Brigham Young,
- 39:31Speaker 5: because those are teams that were just on the outside
- 39:33Speaker 5: looking at or last year it would have been South
- 39:36Speaker 5: Carolina and Alabama and Ole Miss. So last year people
- 39:40Speaker 5: were saying, we need to expand. These teams deserve a shot.
- 39:42Speaker 5: I disagreed. It is my belief that people being mad
- 39:47Speaker 5: at the end of the season isn't automatically evidence that
- 39:50Speaker 5: something's broken. I think that if you have a playoff
- 39:53Speaker 5: that's the proper size, you'll know it because there will
- 39:57Speaker 5: be anger at the end of a season because it
- 39:59Speaker 5: was exclusive to where not everybody could get in. Therefore,
- 40:04Speaker 5: some people were left outside the door banging on it.
- 40:06Speaker 5: But that just means there's still enough scarcity and that
- 40:09Speaker 5: valuable thing you have that it means something. If you
- 40:13Speaker 5: expand to the point where no one's mad, it means
- 40:15Speaker 5: you've got a playoff that's way too big.
- 40:17Speaker 4: That's how I feel about that.
- 40:19Speaker 1: I don't disagree that twelve teams is the proper amount
- 40:23Speaker 1: for a playoff. I just think in twenty twenty five,
- 40:25Speaker 1: where we're currently at with this system, the system was
- 40:28Speaker 1: broken this year because of two G five teams being in,
- 40:31Speaker 1: and there was the squeeze out operation to get Notre
- 40:34Speaker 1: Dame out when they led them to believe the entire time,
- 40:36Speaker 1: when all these rankings came out every Tuesday, that they
- 40:39Speaker 1: were going to be in the college football play You believe.
- 40:41Speaker 5: This happened to Notre Dame of all programs, because for
- 40:44Speaker 5: my entire life grown up in the South, I was
- 40:47Speaker 5: taught that the entire system was rigged in the favor
- 40:50Speaker 5: of Notre Dame. Yeah, and now we fast forward to
- 40:53Speaker 5: present day and Notre Dame's making the kind of argument
- 40:57Speaker 5: that like a Fresno State would have made in the past,
- 41:00Speaker 5: of man, you're boxing us out. The system's built just
- 41:03Speaker 5: rigged against us.
- 41:04Speaker 4: Notre Dame. Notre Dame football, it.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Was the favorite child of rage against the.
- 41:10Speaker 4: Machine South Bend, Indiana, who also.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Notre Dame got a clause in there.
- 41:15Speaker 1: What was it the MoU where it's like, if they're
- 41:17Speaker 1: a ToxT year, next year they have an automatic bin.
- 41:20Speaker 5: Lost Dellinger, man over Yahoo, was just licking that index finger,
- 41:24Speaker 5: flipping through papers and realize that, and to his credit,
- 41:29Speaker 5: he said, wait a second, no one's reported this, and
- 41:32Speaker 5: it's just there, but it's in all that boring legal
- 41:34Speaker 5: ease and you got to like push the readers way
- 41:37Speaker 5: down on the tip of the nose to even read
- 41:38Speaker 5: it in there. And he saw that and he reported it,
- 41:41Speaker 5: and everyone was like, wait a second. So they're they're
- 41:44Speaker 5: making this argument, they're like railing against the operation knowing
- 41:49Speaker 5: this will never happen to them again, like mathematically or contractually,
- 41:53Speaker 5: they're guaranteed it'll never happen again.
- 41:57Speaker 4: Where did that come from? No one knew that. I
- 41:59Speaker 4: had never heard that. Yeah before this past week, Yeah.
- 42:01Speaker 1: You never heard of automatic I.
- 42:03Speaker 5: Never heard that they had negotiated as part of agreeing
- 42:07Speaker 5: to whatever current and present or future version of the
- 42:10Speaker 5: playoff we're going to have that they're guaranteed if they're
- 42:12Speaker 5: in the top twelve they get a they get a
- 42:15Speaker 5: playoff spot, or if it expands to sixteen, like whatever
- 42:17Speaker 5: the size of the playoff is, if they're in that
- 42:20Speaker 5: number or higher, they get a spot in the playoff,
- 42:23Speaker 5: which has a lot of people up in arms. Honestly,
- 42:25Speaker 5: there's a very very minute chance that that ever comes
- 42:27Speaker 5: into play. But ironically it would have come into play
- 42:29Speaker 5: this year. So that but here's my counter. All right,
- 42:33Speaker 5: So you're thinking based on that language, you're thinking, oh, man,
- 42:36Speaker 5: if that was in place this year, then that means
- 42:39Speaker 5: even though Miami was tenth, then Notre Dame was eleventh,
- 42:42Speaker 5: Notre Dame would have still gotten in it. Well, if
- 42:44Speaker 5: you believe the system is built against you, how do
- 42:47Speaker 5: you not know the committee wouldn't have just bumped you
- 42:49Speaker 5: down another spot, and they wouldn't have just bumped you
- 42:51Speaker 5: down to thirteen if you believe that, Like, I don't
- 42:54Speaker 5: know that the system's rigged against them. I think the
- 42:56Speaker 5: system ironically favored them too much in the racegular season
- 43:00Speaker 5: and had to correct itself, which is corrupt and flawed
- 43:04Speaker 5: and stupid, but that's the way it happened. But I
- 43:06Speaker 5: don't know that that just automatically gives me all the
- 43:08Speaker 5: comfort in the world if I'm a Notre Dame fan.
- 43:10Speaker 3: And an example of them being comforted is losing their
- 43:13Speaker 3: first two games and still being in the top twenty five,
- 43:15Speaker 3: that being like the first time in however many years
- 43:17Speaker 3: something happened.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Right, Like, yeah, that that process it kind of did
- 43:21Speaker 1: it to themselves. But I to me, it's like, Yo,
- 43:23Speaker 1: if they would just come out and say the reality
- 43:26Speaker 1: of the situation versus trying to make stuff up to
- 43:29Speaker 1: where if you just look behind the curtain you can
- 43:31Speaker 1: figure out what happened to me, I feel like that
- 43:33Speaker 1: would that would play with more favor.
- 43:36Speaker 2: From the public eye, you know what I mean.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Like a few weeks ago when they kind of flipped
- 43:40Speaker 1: Bama Notre Dame, they started to put insurance policies in place. Hey,
- 43:43Speaker 1: b y, you could be collateral damage here if they
- 43:45Speaker 1: get whooped. It's just more like if at any point
- 43:47Speaker 1: that it came out and said, hey, we kind of
- 43:48Speaker 1: mess this up, dude from the ums.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Like Miami, we do value that.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:55Speaker 2: They It's like if we can.
- 43:56Speaker 3: Get a mistake, if they talk like normally people, yeah
- 44:00Speaker 3: we're sorry, we actually made a mistake. We actually did
- 44:04Speaker 3: not put in the head to head or the pit
- 44:06Speaker 3: game or any of that. Miami should be over over
- 44:09Speaker 3: Notre Dame because of these reasons, because we made a mistake.
- 44:11Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, we're probably all pissed off. We're like, oh,
- 44:14Speaker 3: these guys made a mistakes. Who's to say is not
- 44:16Speaker 3: going to happen again? But like, at least they're not
- 44:18Speaker 3: hiding behind bullshit like a gutsy call or.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Or to two got no other coach made a call
- 44:25Speaker 5: to go for it on fourth. Okay, so just Ryan
- 44:27Speaker 5: Grubb and Alabama, Hey, how about just saying this we
- 44:29Speaker 5: changed our mind?
- 44:30Speaker 4: Yeah, we could just say we changed.
- 44:33Speaker 5: We're thirteen humans and as we continue to watch the games,
- 44:36Speaker 5: we changed our mind.
- 44:37Speaker 3: Yeah, because every other person does. That is upset as
- 44:39Speaker 3: people want to be. That are not the non Alabama
- 44:42Speaker 3: fans out there who want to be upset about Alabama
- 44:44Speaker 3: being in Imagine if Alabama lost where they did in
- 44:46Speaker 3: the SEC Championship and they're out, now, what would take
- 44:49Speaker 3: place in college football?
- 44:50Speaker 4: I don't think we would have an SEC championship.
- 44:52Speaker 2: I don't think we'd have conference championships at all anymore.
- 44:54Speaker 5: Not that they not, not that people care because if
- 44:56Speaker 5: you're anti Alabama you probably don't care about the SEC Championship. Yeah,
- 44:59Speaker 5: I'm just saying there's a lot of other collateral damage
- 45:02Speaker 5: that comes along with that, And I don't really even
- 45:04Speaker 5: know what it is as I say it. I just
- 45:05Speaker 5: know it would have been a mess. It kind of
- 45:07Speaker 5: would have been fun to watch, just purely like voyeuristically.
- 45:10Speaker 5: You want to watch the world burn?
- 45:13Speaker 2: Oh god, this is crazy.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Because I'm sitting there on the selection Sunday when
- 45:17Speaker 1: I see Bama nine, I was like, man, I guess
- 45:20Speaker 1: it's gonna be Is it gonna be Notre Dame? Here?
- 45:23Speaker 1: Is it gonna be Miami? And you're just kind of
- 45:24Speaker 1: sitting there waiting, And then when you see the Miami
- 45:26Speaker 1: want to come across, I'm like, oh shit, what is
- 45:29Speaker 1: going to be?
- 45:30Speaker 5: If I if I had surveillance footage of you as
- 45:32Speaker 5: you were watching it, what would I have seen?
- 45:33Speaker 1: You would I saw I'm sitting there, and I'm like,
- 45:35Speaker 1: hang on, Sweeter, I just gotta see. Yes, I'll play
- 45:37Speaker 1: hide and seek with you here in a second. I
- 45:39Speaker 1: just got to see what happens here.
- 45:40Speaker 4: With my So you have your hand on your child's forehead, Yeah.
- 45:42Speaker 2: I push your back a little bit and I see
- 45:44Speaker 2: it happen and.
- 45:45Speaker 1: I go, oh shit, and Charles like what And I'm like,
- 45:50Speaker 1: you have no idea what just happened?
- 45:52Speaker 4: The world just changed?
- 45:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Sweeter, I need five minutes on my phone. Yeah yeah, yeah, dude.
- 46:01Speaker 3: It's it's nuts in the way Notre Dame is handling this,
- 46:04Speaker 3: like when they say we're not gonna play a ball game.
- 46:06Speaker 3: I'm personally of the opinion that the only thing that
- 46:09Speaker 3: matters about Bowl games is the fifteen practices that you
- 46:11Speaker 3: get playing the game and the gifts. But playing the game,
- 46:15Speaker 3: there's so many guys that set out it's not gonna
- 46:17Speaker 3: it's like, really a chance to get the scrimmage.
- 46:19Speaker 2: It's an exhibition match now.
- 46:20Speaker 1: But for some guys, some seniors, you're never going to
- 46:22Speaker 1: play again.
- 46:23Speaker 3: I don't disagree either with the cheerleaders, the band, all
- 46:27Speaker 3: of that. For them to say, oh shit like that
- 46:29Speaker 3: the last game, we didn't know it was our last game.
- 46:31Speaker 3: We didn't take a moment to sit there and go,
- 46:33Speaker 3: you know, kind of look around, be like, hey, it.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Was a fun ride. I have empathy for all of that.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like it was kind of it was
- 46:39Speaker 1: a weird move, Like I understand emotional move in the moment.
- 46:43Speaker 1: This is what they're standing on this where they're going.
- 46:44Speaker 1: It probably came more likely from the administration their positioning
- 46:49Speaker 1: of it. They're going to get torch for it for
- 46:51Speaker 1: the rest of the time, especially knowing what we know
- 46:53Speaker 1: with the MoU where they're they're in the they're in
- 46:56Speaker 1: the spot that they want to be in from here
- 46:58Speaker 1: on out, you know what I mean, Like, they're not
- 47:00Speaker 1: gonna they won't be in the spot again as long
- 47:02Speaker 1: as they're in the Top twelve or however things get
- 47:05Speaker 1: fixed within the process.
- 47:06Speaker 3: And Clark being like, oh, you guys, you know not
- 47:08Speaker 3: this book was like, no, we love football here.
- 47:10Speaker 4: That's interesting.
- 47:11Speaker 2: He's part of Big Conference.
- 47:13Speaker 4: He's in on it.
- 47:14Speaker 2: He's doing.
- 47:18Speaker 4: Yeah, he's just reading off him.
- 47:20Speaker 2: He had the text. No, yeah, it's it's tough.
- 47:22Speaker 1: You know. I was telling the story yesterday when we
- 47:25Speaker 1: were in the Big twelve championship, I believe in O
- 47:27Speaker 1: nine and we lost that one second game to Texas
- 47:29Speaker 1: when they kicked that field goal. They put the second
- 47:30Speaker 1: back on the clock, they kicked the field goal. It
- 47:32Speaker 1: was known that we were going to the Big ten,
- 47:34Speaker 1: you know, after that next year or whatever. So everybody
- 47:37Speaker 1: in their mind thought it was like Big twelve is
- 47:38Speaker 1: against US. I still this day believe Big twelve was
- 47:40Speaker 1: against US, but both we losed a Big twelve championship.
- 47:45Speaker 1: It's US in Texas. Texas wins, they went by that
- 47:47Speaker 1: game winning field goal. They go on to play in
- 47:48Speaker 1: the National Championship against Alabama. Well, the delegation for the
- 47:53Speaker 1: Big twelve champion loser, like where we were positioning bowl
- 47:56Speaker 1: games mattered a lot. It was the Fiesta Bowl got
- 48:00Speaker 1: a Big twelve team, the was it, the Cotton Bowl,
- 48:03Speaker 1: the Alamobile. I believe we got delegated all the way
- 48:06Speaker 1: down or relegated all the way down to the Holiday Bowl,
- 48:09Speaker 1: which everybody yeah, San Diego, which everybody was pissed off
- 48:13Speaker 1: because again we're in our heads, we're the number two
- 48:15Speaker 1: Big twelve team. All these other bowl games that are
- 48:17Speaker 1: slotted for Big twelve that we get to get chosen with,
- 48:19Speaker 1: you know, the Nebraska fan base. So we were playing,
- 48:21Speaker 1: we had in domicate Sue Heisman, we had like the
- 48:23Speaker 1: number one scoring defense in the country, and we get
- 48:26Speaker 1: pushed all the way down to the Holiday Bowl. Bo
- 48:29Speaker 1: comes in the team room when all this got decided
- 48:31Speaker 1: and asked everybody out right, do you guys even want
- 48:33Speaker 1: to play in this fucking game? Like, I'll tell you
- 48:35Speaker 1: right now, I'll burn the whole thing down if you
- 48:36Speaker 1: guys want to.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Guys stood up.
- 48:39Speaker 1: We decided obviously to play the game whooped Arizona that year,
- 48:43Speaker 1: But it was a conversation in that moment to give
- 48:45Speaker 1: people an inside look at when you feel like you
- 48:47Speaker 1: just get wronged in a situation. In that moment of time,
- 48:49Speaker 1: which I'm sure again Notre Dame, there was no explanation,
- 48:52Speaker 1: no nothing. It's like, yeah, we've been sitting in the
- 48:54Speaker 1: top ten the entire since the college football rings has
- 48:57Speaker 1: come out, and now all of a sudden, you're just
- 48:59Speaker 1: throwing this in here at us, in our face. I'm
- 49:01Speaker 1: sure they were all in the team room and everything else,
- 49:03Speaker 1: very emotional, but yeah, I remember Bo comes into you
- 49:06Speaker 1: guys weren't even playing this fucking game and saying like
- 49:08Speaker 1: I will burn this place. Don't want too, probably about
- 49:12Speaker 1: fifteen minutes because it was emotional. We just, man, we
- 49:15Speaker 1: felt like they put the second back on this when
- 49:17Speaker 1: reviews like it wasn't like a reviewable play to go
- 49:19Speaker 1: and put a second back on. They put it back on.
- 49:21Speaker 1: They kicked the field, go and win. You felt like
- 49:24Speaker 1: you won the Big twelve championship. But it was like
- 49:25Speaker 1: a very emotional next week and then you know, bowl
- 49:28Speaker 1: games get picked and everything else, and it was it
- 49:30Speaker 1: was very tense, very tight, like everybody was pretty angry.
- 49:33Speaker 1: How we felt like we got treated, getting pushed down
- 49:37Speaker 1: to the Holiday Bowl back when bowl games were a
- 49:39Speaker 1: big time thing.
- 49:40Speaker 5: That was big time before people had opted out too.
- 49:42Speaker 5: So you fast forward fifteen sixteen years. I could especially
- 49:46Speaker 5: understand at Notre Dame now that it's normal to opt
- 49:49Speaker 5: out of bowls. Don't take bowls seriously, You think you
- 49:51Speaker 5: just got shafted out of a playoff spot. Yeah, me
- 49:54Speaker 5: walking in the default mechanism is yeah, we're done. We're
- 49:57Speaker 5: not participating in this. That's why I said. And a
- 50:00Speaker 5: million people ask me, what do you think about Notre
- 50:01Speaker 5: Dame opting out of a bowl game? Well, I personally
- 50:03Speaker 5: hate the concept, but I'm not going to rail against
- 50:06Speaker 5: them and that, like I don't understand.
- 50:08Speaker 4: It's the world we live. Yeah, Like I totally get
- 50:09Speaker 4: where their mind is.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Do you think Jerremala Love is gonna play that game?
- 50:14Speaker 1: No?
- 50:14Speaker 3: No shot, No, you're thinking about than that ultra that
- 50:18Speaker 3: Ultra then bragging rights. Uh, mikel Ultra Superior is worth
- 50:22Speaker 3: playing for and we're playing for a Michelobultra. We've started
- 50:25Speaker 3: this row pay percisors and right now I'm leading the
- 50:27Speaker 3: series eight to six.
- 50:28Speaker 2: At one point I was down two. This would be
- 50:32Speaker 2: catastrophic for you if you lose this.
- 50:36Speaker 1: One possibly rob scissors shoot.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Superior is worth playing for nowadays?
- 50:46Speaker 1: Seven down one? Yeah, down one down one.
- 50:49Speaker 3: Back to the episode Heisman candidate, By the way, should
- 50:51Speaker 3: we talk about our heidsman?
- 50:52Speaker 6: I have a quick question about will you tweeted about
- 50:55Speaker 6: it yesterday? And I don't know, Josh, if you can
- 50:56Speaker 6: give more insight about it, the whole Utah thing going
- 51:00Speaker 6: with that?
- 51:01Speaker 1: Oh? Well, I said, what could go wrong where it
- 51:03Speaker 1: seems like Cana.
- 51:05Speaker 3: Yeah, Utah bought a p or some private equity company
- 51:09Speaker 3: bought a piece of Utahs that.
- 51:11Speaker 4: It's essentially, it's essentially.
- 51:15Speaker 3: It's the Big ten correct.
- 51:20Speaker 4: As as a whole, the Big ten as a whole.
- 51:21Speaker 5: Yeah, this is an individual athletic department basically taking an
- 51:25Speaker 5: effusion of private equity money.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Over five hundred million.
- 51:28Speaker 5: Yeah, it's no small it's no small figure. It is
- 51:32Speaker 5: it's you could see it coming from a long way away.
- 51:35Speaker 5: College football has been horrifically financially mismanaged for a long time.
- 51:38Speaker 5: It's no different than the federal government. It's just college
- 51:41Speaker 5: football administrators who have been loosely spending money because it's
- 51:46Speaker 5: not their money. When you're spending someone else's money, you
- 51:48Speaker 5: don't really have proper incentive to be frugal with it.
- 51:52Speaker 5: And so a lot of different places have dug themselves
- 51:55Speaker 5: in holes. And then all of a sudden, you have
- 51:56Speaker 5: on this other set of rails over here congruent to
- 51:59Speaker 5: your You've got the college football train at large, which
- 52:02Speaker 5: has been mismanaged, and now you didn't really have a
- 52:05Speaker 5: plan when all of a sudden, you have to pay
- 52:07Speaker 5: the players to pay the players, so you had this
- 52:09Speaker 5: huge added operating expense that you can't afford. Because you
- 52:13Speaker 5: never positioned yourself. You kept on spending every dime you made.
- 52:17Speaker 5: That's why all the facilities look like they do. That's
- 52:19Speaker 5: why coaches make ten fifteen million dollars a year. The
- 52:22Speaker 5: buyouts are huge because you couldn't afford to make the
- 52:25Speaker 5: revenue and sit on it. Because if you were sitting
- 52:28Speaker 5: on a mountain of money, it was going to be
- 52:30Speaker 5: really bad optics because the public was going to look
- 52:32Speaker 5: at it and say, wait a second, you're hoarding hundreds
- 52:35Speaker 5: of millions of dollars while also saying you can't afford
- 52:38Speaker 5: to pay the players. So they kept spending the money
- 52:40Speaker 5: as it came in the door and spending on all
- 52:42Speaker 5: sorts of ridiculous things. So now they're in a bind,
- 52:45Speaker 5: not just Utah. Utah just happens to be the first
- 52:47Speaker 5: one to do it, and they're looking into the future
- 52:49Speaker 5: and they're looking at projections and saying, yeah, we're just
- 52:51Speaker 5: headed even more in the red. We need help. Private
- 52:54Speaker 5: equity comes in and they help. Now, most college football
- 52:57Speaker 5: fans won't be affected by this. They'll see low goes
- 53:00Speaker 5: on the jerseys, they'll see a branding on the fields,
- 53:03Speaker 5: and that's whatever. The real question I have becomes, who's
- 53:07Speaker 5: making decisions for Utah Athletics now or if it comes
- 53:11Speaker 5: time to fire a coach and hire a new coach,
- 53:13Speaker 5: Who's making the call on firing coach and hiring the coach.
- 53:17Speaker 5: Because we're really in the interest of what's best for business,
- 53:20Speaker 5: right and if it's just your business, that's your business.
- 53:22Speaker 5: But all of a sudden, if someone's bought a stake
- 53:24Speaker 5: in Utah football or Utah Athletics. They want to return
- 53:27Speaker 5: on their investment. And they want to say because they're
- 53:30Speaker 5: paying for a seat at the table, which.
- 53:32Speaker 1: Is what essentially is happening with Utah because where we're at,
- 53:35Speaker 1: it's like, say, you have this five hundred million dollars
- 53:38Speaker 1: in a private equity, Like you have all this money,
- 53:40Speaker 1: you want to back it, Like we've been seeing, whether
- 53:42Speaker 1: it's Cody Campbell down at Texas Tech, whatever it is.
- 53:44Speaker 1: The thought was, we'll donate to the nil collective, like
- 53:49Speaker 1: make a donation. They got a lot of money backing them.
- 53:51Speaker 1: What's happened at Utah is they've stood up another LLC
- 53:55Speaker 1: to where now this five hundred million this private equity
- 53:58Speaker 1: company has bought like a minority stake in the team,
- 54:00Speaker 1: to where they will be decision makers for making money.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Are they going to be involved with making these big
- 54:05Speaker 1: decisions now we'll never see there's like a new Yeah,
- 54:08Speaker 1: there's like a new master who's now at the seat
- 54:11Speaker 1: of the table with all this money coming in.
- 54:12Speaker 2: They now own a part of Utah Athletics.
- 54:15Speaker 1: They're not like donating like, hey, our group wants to
- 54:17Speaker 1: make our football team better. Here's a shitload of money.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Now they are minority owners, like in Utah football, say.
- 54:25Speaker 2: I'm just getting that small breakdown. It feels like there's
- 54:27Speaker 2: no good outcome.
- 54:29Speaker 1: You saw Dillingham yesterday, he was doing I saw him
- 54:31Speaker 1: in an interview and they're kind of asking about it.
- 54:33Speaker 1: He's like, dude, it's a messman. As far as financials,
- 54:35Speaker 1: as far as money, entertainment, the media that is booming,
- 54:39Speaker 1: it's going to continue to boom, like very popular. But
- 54:41Speaker 1: as far as all the structures and processes in college football,
- 54:44Speaker 1: he's like, it's an absolute messman. So I He's like,
- 54:48Speaker 1: we'll handle it the way we handle each new thing
- 54:50Speaker 1: that comes in.
- 54:51Speaker 2: He's like, but it's a mess man.
- 54:52Speaker 3: If you're looking at like a Utah and ASU, these
- 54:56Speaker 3: these brands of college football that their logo doesn't have
- 54:59Speaker 3: like a bunch of people that have left made a
- 55:01Speaker 3: billion dollars or doing a lot of money an il
- 55:03Speaker 3: to be competitive.
- 55:04Speaker 2: What are the choices they have than to take on
- 55:06Speaker 2: a private equity career.
- 55:07Speaker 5: Oh, I'll tell you you need to collectively bargain with
- 55:09Speaker 5: the athletes.
- 55:11Speaker 4: Athletes dot org.
- 55:12Speaker 5: I mean, I sound like a spokesperson right now. But
- 55:14Speaker 5: it just so happens that as we're recording, it's Tuesday, right,
- 55:17Speaker 5: it's Wednesday.
- 55:18Speaker 4: Two days ago, two days ago out in Las Vegas.
- 55:21Speaker 2: They go ahead, ground. I just wanted to know he's
- 55:26Speaker 2: going to make a move. As soon as you open
- 55:28Speaker 2: it up. I started to get flashed back.
- 55:29Speaker 5: I just look at it. I just follow your eyes
- 55:31Speaker 5: and just go down there. Man, he's looking at this
- 55:34Speaker 5: crotch again. That must be you know, but God, players
- 55:38Speaker 5: dot Org, You've got to make yourself financially viable in
- 55:41Speaker 5: the future. Right now such a train wreck because people
- 55:43Speaker 5: are trying to figure every which way around collectively bargaining
- 55:47Speaker 5: with athletes. I'm not taking a stance on this. I'm
- 55:49Speaker 5: kind of old school in it myself. I'm just saying,
- 55:52Speaker 5: you've tried the congressional approach over and over again. Just
- 55:55Speaker 5: last week, the Score Act fell in its face in
- 55:58Speaker 5: Congress again, and that is basically to dumb that down,
- 56:02Speaker 5: where just normal people understand what's happening here. They really
- 56:05Speaker 5: want a way for Congress to step in to make
- 56:08Speaker 5: laws that say, all right, college football, you're free to
- 56:11Speaker 5: govern yourself.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Now.
- 56:13Speaker 5: You can limit transfer, portal movement, you can limit what
- 56:16Speaker 5: nil is you can do all of that because we're
- 56:19Speaker 5: giving you the power. Legally, well, that keeps falling on
- 56:21Speaker 5: its face, so that's never going to pass the legal
- 56:25Speaker 5: barometer that it needs to to be signed into law.
- 56:27Speaker 4: At least that looked that way.
- 56:29Speaker 5: The other option is to collectively bargain with the players
- 56:33Speaker 5: and to centralize that. Take it out of the hands
- 56:36Speaker 5: of the teams and the leagues and centralize it. This
- 56:39Speaker 5: is very very clearly gaining traction. Athletic directors are on
- 56:43Speaker 5: board with it, University presidents are on board with it.
- 56:45Speaker 5: Some of the most influential voices within those two realms
- 56:48Speaker 5: are on board with it. And I really think over
- 56:50Speaker 5: the next six to twelve months, you're going to see
- 56:52Speaker 5: traction on this and then where I'm interested because that
- 56:55Speaker 5: stuff is boring. What I'm interested in down the road
- 56:58Speaker 5: is do we ever get to a place where that
- 57:01Speaker 5: same principle is applied to media deals. None of the
- 57:05Speaker 5: networks really want that, none of the leagues really want that,
- 57:08Speaker 5: but collectively it would make everyone a lot more money.
- 57:11Speaker 5: If college football's media rights structure reflected that of the NFL.
- 57:17Speaker 5: There is no AFC East TV package. There is just
- 57:20Speaker 5: the NFL, the AFC, and the NFC. But underneath the
- 57:23Speaker 5: NFL's umbrella, that is a media rights deal that is
- 57:27Speaker 5: sold by the NFL, and NBC's got a piece, and
- 57:30Speaker 5: Fox has got a piece, and CBS has got a piece,
- 57:32Speaker 5: and the league kind of dictates.
- 57:33Speaker 1: Here's the players got a piece.
- 57:34Speaker 5: Yes, that I think is the direction we're headed in
- 57:37Speaker 5: college football. It's just we're like a pinball going through
- 57:41Speaker 5: the machine right now to get there. It's not just
- 57:44Speaker 5: let's flow down the river out into the ocean. It's
- 57:47Speaker 5: we're a pinball and we're going all over the place.
- 57:49Speaker 3: So if that takes place, then that happens, and there's
- 57:51Speaker 3: a CBA for college football and it becomes just like, oh,
- 57:54Speaker 3: this is a big umbrella company. What happens is private
- 57:56Speaker 3: equity companies that have bought pieces.
- 57:58Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 57:59Speaker 5: I don't know. I'm not smart enough in that world
- 58:01Speaker 5: to know. I just know that we need that's what
- 58:04Speaker 5: we need.
- 58:04Speaker 1: We need your life that kept from the Live Show Man.
- 58:09Speaker 2: Your dad and I was, I was like.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Nervous each other's legs. You want to take this on?
- 58:15Speaker 1: Nope, I'll tell you what, man, I I like. I
- 58:20Speaker 1: love that the players are getting paid. But I also
- 58:24Speaker 1: we're in such a d we're in such dangerous territory,
- 58:26Speaker 1: like even for the athletes too, with all this money
- 58:29Speaker 1: that comes in and everything else happened, and just man,
- 58:33Speaker 1: when when we were in high school, the whole thought
- 58:36Speaker 1: process was, I'm just saying, like, think about the commitment,
- 58:40Speaker 1: the dedication and work ethic everything just to get the
- 58:43Speaker 1: opportunity to get a scholarship on thinking that you're that's
- 58:46Speaker 1: the way out to get to the NFL and all
- 58:49Speaker 1: of the foundational values and cultural things that you have
- 58:53Speaker 1: to establish as a high schooler. But you're very raw
- 58:56Speaker 1: as a high schooler learning all of these values, learning
- 58:58Speaker 1: all of these traits and characteristic and then they get
- 59:01Speaker 1: molded and developed and hardened in college to where whenever
- 59:05Speaker 1: those first big paychecks come in in the NFL, it
- 59:08Speaker 1: can get guys off the tracks. Like obviously you see
- 59:11Speaker 1: guys fall off, but at least you're equipped. I know
- 59:12Speaker 1: when the money started coming in For myself, It's like
- 59:17Speaker 1: a lot of guys know in their head they have
- 59:19Speaker 1: to stay very principled in their approach and commitment all
- 59:22Speaker 1: year round to keep getting and keep getting it, tapping
- 59:25Speaker 1: into this well and keep getting paid and the life
- 59:28Speaker 1: and all the bells and whistles that come with it.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Now it's like all that's just getting chopped when all
- 59:34Speaker 1: this money sinking into these seventeen eighteen year old kids
- 59:37Speaker 1: when they're gone, because now it's not even about this
- 59:39Speaker 1: work ethic, the sickening, gritty approach when you're in high school.
- 59:43Speaker 1: It's about picking up your phone, looking at how many
- 59:45Speaker 1: likes you have on Instagram, looking at what deals your
- 59:47Speaker 1: agent might begin to you. Because now you have an
- 59:49Speaker 1: agent who's telling you all these things, you might not
- 59:51Speaker 1: have to worry about certain principal things that you're established in,
- 59:54Speaker 1: whether there's workout routines and everything else, because it's like,
- 59:56Speaker 1: who's going to pay me the most money? Like it
- 59:59Speaker 1: used to be, you owe the process everything, and the
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: process owes you nothing in return. Now these kids are
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: getting paid for a process they haven't even established going
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: into college football, and it's just I hate it for
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: the athletes because the development that happens that isn't going
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: to be taken serious as much near as much anymore
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: at the college level is what bothers me about the
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: whole thing. Because I do enjoy that they're getting paid.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: It's what we wanted. But there's all this how it's
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: getting pushed all the way down. Now we're talking about
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: college is going to be looking like the NFL. That's
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: a big fix because we need all this regulation to
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: come in and help everybody out with all the money
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: floating around everywhere. But in doing that, it just the
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: way it massages the mentality of these college kids. Now
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: at the high school level, I'm like, fuck.
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: But in your CBA, let's say it structured properly. Because
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: I had long conversations about this last week, because I
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: have those concerns as well. Most people who love college
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: football have those concerns. You worry about the detriment of
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: the product when sixteen and seventeen year old kids already
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: bank high six low seven figures coming in like it
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: adversely affects the compass, the north star of motivation, of process,
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: oriented of drive of everything. All right, So think about this,
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: all right, if we have a CBA in college, your
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: player reps are probably not going to be freshmen. They're
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: going to be upperclassmen. Those upper classmen are in the
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: position to be a player rep, probably because they've proven
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: themselves and paid the price. If you have a CBA
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: in college football, I think you have a payscale that's
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: very much correlated to like a rookie pay scale versus
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: a second contract third contract in the NFL. Not apples
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: to apples, but very similar to where if I'm a
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: seventeen year old kid, If we have a CBA, that
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: also means that we enter into a world where there
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: are enforceable laws within IL, which means it's not just
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: wild West pay for play anymore, like, yeah, you're gonna
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: make money and it's been collectively bargained. But you know,
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: if you're a freshman committing to Nebraska, you're not making
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: nearly as much as you're gonna make if you succeed
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: and you play, and then you're still a sophomore on
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: that roster, and then you're a junior, and then there's
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: this huge bonus that kicks in third and fourth years
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: on the same roster because you prove yourself and you're
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: under a collectively bargained umbrella where you know the big
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: payoff is down the road, where you have all the
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: incentive in the world to keep chasing instead of already
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: having a gigantic bag in your lap. The moment you
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: step on campus.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I appreciate the way you broke that down
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: because I sit there and I'm like, we're hearing guys
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: close to the program.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Just be like, man, this program.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: This dude's dumb for signing a two year deal within
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: IL And I'm just thinking, Jesus Christ, I cannot believe
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: we are in this world.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: There's two hugs that out there though, Like, well, you're
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: bringing down all the things I agree with it, Like
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: the process owes you nothing, all the work ethic if
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: you're being coached hard by your coaches, like buy into
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: a program, going to a school because that's the school
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: you want to be at and they just hosted you
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: the best, and you're like, this is where I can
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: think my next four to five years. Like that is
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: clearly missed.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: But I can't sit.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: Back and not just like for these kids if we're
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: in these positions, like yeah, you want to gain the
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: system as much as possible, to put as much money
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: in your pocket as possible, signing a one year deal
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: as opposed to a two year deal, Like I can't
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: get mad at a player for doing those things with
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: the CBA, Like I would love for a CBA to
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: take place because then there's an umbrella. There's only a
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: certain amount of money you can spend. Each team can
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: spend on their players. And I love the idea of
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: like you have freshmans like a rookie, and the more
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: you work and the better you do and the more
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: accolades you have, the.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: More you'll get paid.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: Because it's just on a way simpler level from being
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: able to play in the NFL and go to the
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: lunch room and sit there in the morning and Georgia
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: and Alabama had to play, and I have five Georgia
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: teammates and three Alabama teammates and they're in their lunchroom
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: arguing about their team. They're loved there for their team.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: I don't see that in the next four or five
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: years if it continues the same way, staying that way
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: in that lunch room where it's like kids have like
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: absolute pride and where they played at and they're like
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: like Nebraska, like no one's.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: Gonna have that anymore.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: And that's where like, that's where college football I think
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: is at its best because in a unique way, like
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: when people gamble, it's like they're only going to want
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: a gamble on their team for the most part because
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: they're so invested in love with that team.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: When you played for the Tennessee Titans, who is your employer.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: The Titans?
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Was the NFL your employer or was it the Titans
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: your employer?
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: The Titans were my employer.
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: So in this world, I don't think that's the way
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: it'll be structured. I don't think you'll be employed by
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: ole miss or the SEC.
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: I think you'll be employed.
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: By filling the blank name of whatever entity they form.
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: And that is where the authority will be. But that's
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: also where the risk will be. That's where the finances
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: are handled. That's where private equity goes. By the way,
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: in case you're wondering, like to answer your question, instead
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: of trying to glom onto an individual athletic department, private
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: equity will go to whatever that entity is, and that's
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: where that cash infusion will happen and they'll be able
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: to afford the operating costs. And at that point, University
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: of Georgia, University of Nebraska, University of Arizona, you guys
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: are good. We're handling it. But here are the rules
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: you're going to abide by, and here's the amount of
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: money you can afford. To pay your players handle your
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: salary cap accordingly. By the way, this doesn't get rid
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: of nil, It just repurposes nil for what it was
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: supposed to be, which is the same way it is
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: in the NFL, which is Pat Mahomes as a superstar.
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: So he goes out and gets all the endorsement deals
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: he wants. What's not happening is some guy who got
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: rich beyond his wildest dreams, who happens to be a
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: Kansas City Chiefs fan went to Pat Mahomes and free
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: agency and said, I'm going to pay you thirty million
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: dollars to come and play for us, because that's a
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: competitive disadvantage, whether you think is fair or not or
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: should be. Well, if you live in the world of
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: the NFL, you're going to operate by their rules. And
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: if you live in this world in the future, if
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: it's collectively bargained that means laws can be enforced, nil
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: is not going to be what it is right now.
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: So guys will still make nil money, but it'll be
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: guys who legit deserve to make nil money, and most
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: guys will make their money based off of, for lack
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: of a better term, their salary. I think we're very,
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: very much closer to that than people realize.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: It would mean there's a lot.
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: Of movement happening on that front this week as we speak,
- 1:06:00Speaker 5: there's a lot of movement happening.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Need the urgency, Need the urgency.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: Yeah, but like I know that you're there's a lot
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: of things that we want to fix. There is also
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: the fan in me of college football where it's at
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: right now, where there's gonna be so many documentaries with
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: the last four or five years. Yeah, I'm kind of
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: just sitting here like I'm really enjoying watching all these
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: things unfolding, all the chaos.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Yep, it's just hey, fix the a SEC tie break.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: There, you go, fix the that was the butterfly?
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: Good, let's everything everything, Navy, Do we want to talk
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: about the brackets?
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Do we actually want to do that?
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: Because it's really comes down to we're going to talk
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: about all these games on future episodes.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: I think.
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: I'm not going to take too Lane to win at all.
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: So that's a spoiler, like that's a tease and I'm
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: not going to take Jmu to win it all. I
- 1:06:46Speaker 5: think Miami A and m is the best game of
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: the first round.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: Notre Dame beats both, then.
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: I think the difference. Can I just say one more,
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: Let's let's play who does notre Dame.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: Let's play the game who does notre Dame beat? We'll
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: start with.
- 1:07:03Speaker 5: Speak about Joe does not think so they probably give
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: him a good fight.
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: Probably a good fight. James Madison was the whole president man.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: Yeah, when I look at this bracket, the two teams
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: that I'm most excited to see is Ole Miss and
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: Texas ole.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Miss in Texas Tech. Y.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: I'm excited to see Ole Miss because of all this
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: stuff that took place with Lane Kiff and now the
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: coaches are going back to Ole Miss to coaching those games,
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: but Lang Kiffin is staying at l s U and
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: then Texas Tech. We've had so much conversation on the
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: show about how the Big twelve is not as respect
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: as much as the Big ten or the SEC and
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: Joey McGuire being able to assemble a team that's, you know,
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: more expensive than anybody else and for them to play
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: the way they have to get How good are they
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: really when we go against these Big ten and the
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: SEC teams. Yeah, I'm excited to see how they play
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: to find out against I tuned up, pissed off Oregon
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: team that remembers this month very well from very well,
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: and they're going to get it.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Two game with JMU tough to beat ole Daan Lanning.
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: Can I confide in you guys, Lanning's not watching because
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: he doesn't have a game this week, so we Lanny
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: won't watch this, So this is going to be some
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: big time rat poison. No one is set up better
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: than Oregon here. I would rather have Oregon's spot in
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: this bracket than anyone else's. They get the easiest first
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: round matchup at home. They then get teed up to
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: go play Texas Tech, which out of the other three
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: teams in the semi final or in the quarterfinal. From
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: a roster standpoint, they match up the best against probably,
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: but look at the way it advances. Think about talent rosters,
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: Think about who athletically could match Oregon. The three that
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: I would circle the most are on the other side
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: of the bracket, Miami A and m Georgia, Ohio State
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: four of them. Four of them are on the other
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: side of the bracket, and the soonest you would meet
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: them as in the national title game. The most you'll
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: have to defeat is one of them in the national
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: title game, Oregon. I hope they don't embarrass me because
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: I'm sky high on Oregon.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: I am too and potential reimagine.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: I know it's like we said hard to beat a
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: team twice when we saw in the SEC championship.
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: But let's just be real.
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: You already know what Kurt Signetti said about Dan Lanning
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: and his family the first time around. If they beat
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: them again, I don't want to get ahead of myself.
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: I know what I am.
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: If they beat them again in a semi final, there's
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: no limit to what that guy could text you.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Yeah, there's not man and we hate that.
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: Yeah, we don't want college football to be like that.
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: That's not what we want this game to be.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: No Cincinnati being Oregon again, Like, does Dan Lanning continue
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: to coach?
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: Say that again?
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: Because of the sound bite we cut down the road
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: is going to be great and you said Cincinnati say
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: Indiana sorry?
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: If Indiana beats Oregon again, does Dan Lanning continue to coach?
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: That's something you If Bignetty beats Lanning again, right, does
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Lanning have to think his wife.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: I thought we were gonna leave it unspokeus.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: I thought we were, and you had. She's a nice lady,
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: and we know about Dan's game with the card, the
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: whole thing.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: Yeah, man, so I would hate to see a man
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: like Dan Lanning never coach again if he loses Indiana.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: Have you got winning at all?
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Had? Very much? Very much?
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, I know, so I picked free season.
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: Am I sticking with Oregon? I guess you'll find out later.
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: Wow, do we know, Clump? Where these where these next
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: round games are going to be?
- 1:10:32Speaker 6: Like?
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: Where would Indiana and the winner of Oklahoma Bama be?
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: Is that Pasadena? Where would Oregon play Texas Tech? Where
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: will the rematch of Ole Miss and Georgia take place?
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Indiana, Indiana?
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: That's in Pasadena, Okay.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: In Texas.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: Georgia is playing New.
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: Orleans Sugar Bowl.
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: So Oregon, if they go on to play in the
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: National Championship, we'll play in hard Rock Stadium the second
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: round and then a couple of weeks later in the
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: National Title because hard Rock rotates in for the quarterfinals
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: and the National Title. Interesting, Miami could play a home
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: game in the National Title. Could could or they could
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: not escape the first round? You know, either way.
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and that just makes will consent. Go Notre Dame.
- 1:11:31Speaker 5: Sh everyone who loses in this bracket. You just need
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: to have the tweet ready to be fired. Yeah, Notre
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: Dame would have been such a better replacement in no doubt.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: Well before we do two classic game of the week Heisman,
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: who's your heisman right now?
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: At thefore?
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: That's it there, futures clump. Did anybody who picked a
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: future heisman?
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Guy? They make it? Yes?
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: Who's that? Oh? Yeah, well.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Geez? Who?
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: Actually I deserve half a win for this he led
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: he did to his thumb got cut off. He's playing
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: with four fingers and he's still in the playoff. Imagine
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: what he could have done with five.
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: Imagine a couple of weeks off getting healthy, that thumb
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: finally gets bigger.
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: Nexterity exercises, getting healthy.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: Who do you have the hesman in your mind?
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: Diego? What do the odds say?
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Actually?
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: Because was it Mendoza?
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: I just minus three? It doesn't make any sense, makes
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: zero sense.
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: The game that catapulted him was a thirteen to ten game. Yeah,
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: it's not like you rain touchdowns all over the place. Now,
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: one touchdown. He took one of the hardest hits of
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: the season, got right back up and cut one of
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: the great postgame promos in the modern era.
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: But that, guys, are that will grant you that.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: Presssion.
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: He had a You starting to sound like the playoff committee. Yeah,
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: he had a great third down conversion. I'm sure Diego
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: had as well. No, No, I know you, I know
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: where you stand on who the heisman should be. But
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: I think it's so clearly Diego Pavia. And when I
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: tweet that and everyone's coming at my head, how Fernanda
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: Mendoza and then Jacob Rodriguez, he just gets it thrown
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: in and I'm like, yeah, I kind of wish he
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: was going to New York, but he's not gonna win.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Ye.
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: It's like the only two people that you would argue
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: is Foranana Mendoza and Diego Pavia. People want to say
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: Julian same, but I think there's enough holes there with
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: who he was throwing to. You know that that whole thing.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: But Diego Pavia stats are his throwing sets are better
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: than Banana Mendoza. And also you have to add on
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: almost nine hundred yards of rushing and nine more touchdowns.
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: Like if you're a value saying, who is the best
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: player in college football? And who does who does more
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: for their team?
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: Diego does not keep it high and tight?
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: Who does more for their team than anybody Else's Diego Pavia's.
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I need I need that speech.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: Through the air, Fernando has more turn Fernando has more
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: yards and touchdowns through the air.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: Correct, like I think he was, Like Fernanda Mendoza doesn't
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: have three thousand yards throwing because more touchdowns five?
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Actually game, Diego has more passing yards. Who's the last
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: high who's the last quarterback to win a Heisman? They
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: didn't throw for three thousand Dude.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: He's a mic?
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Dude?
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: What he's a mic?
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Oh? It is Cam. Cam Newton was the last quarterback
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: to win a Heisman without throwing for three thousand yards
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: and the only reason was because he ran for fourteen
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: hundred yards and twenty touchdowns.
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: Well that in Auburn picked up guys from the playground
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: to be wide receivers for him that year. Yeah, so
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: Cam a little bit different, A little bit there, just
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: Yeah, people want to hate all this, you know. I
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: think it's Diego Pavi too.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: I look Diego Pavi in the eyes last week and
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: I say, he's like, what do you think? I was like,
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: I think it's yours right now. But for Nanda Mendoza
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: goes out there and throws for like two seventy five
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: or three hundred and a couple of touchdowns. Probably he
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: probably needs two touchdowns at least. I could see where Fernando,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: where the public gets on Fernando. But that didn't happen,
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: So I was I feel like I would be lying.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: I would have lied to Diego if Bernando Mendoza wins
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: this Heisman, and it was the Ohio State game where
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: he hit him for one touchdown, one interception, and then
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: a nice third downplay. But Banda mendo is a great
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: player though, keep said, I and I do in joy.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: I love every every interview he does. Need him on
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: the bus.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: Raise your hand.
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: If you have a Heisman vote, we can't be trusted
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: with your Yeah, we can't be trusted to have a
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: Heisman vote.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: Do you people not have it? Not have the vote?
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: How do you get a Heisman vote?
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: That's a great question, William.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: I don't know, because I feel like if anybody would
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: be close to it, it'd be you out of us.
- 1:15:42Speaker 5: Three Well, I haven't asked for one. Apparently you need
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: a beg and that's not something I'm you do get one? Yes,
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: So we do know Heisman voters.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Oh beg?
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: Oh no, true story. A couple of years ago.
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: A couple of years ago, I had I had a
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: production assistant on my on my staff that was cutting
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: video and we were having this conversation and I was
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: just kind of laughing because I've never been upset about it.
- 1:16:06Speaker 5: I just thought it's kind of weird that, like the
- 1:16:08Speaker 5: way the Heisman votes are handed out, and she just
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: echoes and like, wait, I have a Heisman vote. And
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: we all looked at her and we said do what
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: now she goes, yeah, I have a Heisman vote.
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: It was at that point that I lost faith in
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: the process.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, system is not broken, though, the Heisman system.
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: Where were you trying to cook the vote over here?
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: I was just gonna ask a couple of people, a
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: couple of.
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: Things, Okay, how many? How many?
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: High?
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: That was always making sure that if you've won a Heisman,
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: you do get a vote.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: You get a vote. So I texted.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: Marcus and I was like, do you have a vote,
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: And when he says yes, I'm saying who did you
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: vote for?
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: And the ill yeah, I can ask I.
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: Well, they try and make it sound like he's punishable
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: by banishment to if you reveal your vote.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: All right, so the vote's already in.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: I guess Digle lost, which is Oh, it's over, man.
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: I feel like if there's anybody to be made, no Playoff,
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: no Heisman, no Joe Moore.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: Either, Vandy doesn't get to partake in any of the
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: no sec favor.
- 1:17:13Speaker 5: And they showed, They showed up, They parked out front,
- 1:17:17Speaker 5: they got a good spot. They went knocked on the
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: door and they hear the music inside and they know
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: someone's home.
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: No one ever comes to the door to.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: The Off, which is insane.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Right, there's Mitch. Hey.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: Guess what though every Saturday's got games, one only one
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: fits just right. There is the True Classic Game of

- 1:17:50Speaker 1: or online at True Classic dot Com. Slash Busting, Look Good,
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Feel Good play good. Here's the true classic game of
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: the week.
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: Army at Navy America's game. Okay, Navy's favorite at six
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: and a half. The total points in the game is
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: thirty seven and a half, fifty stars, thirteen bars. These
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: colors don't run. I think it's unpatriotic for me to
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: even sit and say this team's been the other. Even
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: though Navy was in a three way tie for their
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: conference championship and Army was six and five, so I
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: would pick a Navy to cover six and a half. However,
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the over thirty seven and a half.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: William, thirty seven and a half, let me go defense.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: I'll go under thirty.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: Okay, I like that.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: Let me just fight for the under this game with
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: these two teams.
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: I agree with you.
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: Under thirty seven and a half's always been a safe
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: play in the Service Academy games. Even though it's baked
- 1:18:38Speaker 5: into the number, it's not baked enough into the number.
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: I told you. I went back and reviewed the outcast
- 1:18:43Speaker 5: and the actual hardest image from that outcast was we
- 1:18:47Speaker 5: were on air when they played the anthem and you
- 1:18:50Speaker 5: could see us, and someone took a picture from the
- 1:18:53Speaker 5: ground up and we all got hands over hearts and
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: old Glory is flying in the background.
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: I'd be lying if I.
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: Said I didn't get little Missy looking at that. We
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: did that broadcast for our country. Yeah, this game is
- 1:19:04Speaker 5: being played for our country.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: All there's a lot of things that bust what the
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: boys doesn't do for their country. We believe in this country.
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: I believe in these men that have taken the field.
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: We're not at war yet, we're not overseas.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: There's done a lot of things busting with the boys
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: won't do for this country.
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: But yeah, we're always in a war. Every days of war.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: That all cast was a war.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: The trolls in Pate's comments section. That's a war going on.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: There, wars that take place every single day. It's whether
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: you're gonna answer the bell or not.
- 1:19:32Speaker 5: I wish you could have my seat because the moment
- 1:19:35Speaker 5: you said, we're not at warr yet, JP has been
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: scrolling his phone for ten minutes, hasn't said a word,
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: and he just went every day's a war.
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: So under over yep.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Fun.
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: In fact, this game is teeing place in what Baltimore? Correct,
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: last time they were in Baltimore, Army broke a twelve
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: game losing streak.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: So if that is the case of Barmy's gonna win
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: this game, it'll be an undergame. So it's good for you.
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: You guys well, feel good, feel great, wonderful, grundfore, grunderful.
