- 1:51we said before, as we're doing again. We are live a lot more
- 1:55these days on Twitch dot tv Slash for All Nerds. As you see,
- 2:00this is like two weeks in a row. No actually stipped last week if
- 2:02we were recording some speciul shit. Yeah, but you know, the truth
- 2:07be told, we back again, and we stipping next week too, but
- 2:09we might do a semi live thing that week. You know, we'll figure
- 2:12it all out. But you know, it's end the year. We're doing
- 2:15a lot of things, vacations all that. But in January beginning of the
- 2:19year twenty twenty four, we will be live consistently Twitch dot tv Slash for
- 2:24All Nerds. A lot of things are going on. How you feeling top
- 2:29down? What's going on with you today? Yo? We're trying to do
- 2:31some shit different shit. Man, I'm actually standing up right now, first
- 2:37of all, and everybody's looking at me like I don't have a virtual background.
- 2:39No, I have a real background. I know you can't see none
- 2:42of that shit behind me. So we're gonna fix that next time around that.
- 2:45But they can't, can I see? It's about visibles. My stuff,
- 2:49Like my shit is like far off. You know, your stuff is
- 2:52much closer than mine. True, I got mad shit. I got all
- 2:53my comics over here, and I'm like moving my mouth around like y'all could
- 2:57even see what I'm doing, but you can't. But I have all my
- 3:00little pop figures, like my shit is lit, but you can't really see
- 3:04it. We'll work on that, yeah, because mine I feel like they.
- 3:07I mean, there's like random figures in the background and that's all you
- 3:09got. And then if I move right you can see glass there we go.
- 3:13Yeah, and I'm gonna upgrade my camera too, So yeah, I
- 3:15just did that. I'm actually upgrading my camera within probably about a net show,
- 3:22you know, because like we said, with some new things, it's
- 3:23time to really get the focus on the other day, you know, I
- 3:27woke up, I feel like all its on cocaine. Fam I woke up
- 3:29at like five in the morning, cocaine straight up and down. I woke
- 3:32up at five in the morning. I don't know what possessed me. I
- 3:36came into this little room with you know, with my studios. Is where
- 3:38I made my music, that's where I DJ at, This's where I do
- 3:42the show at. This is where I do my writing. At five in
- 3:45the morning, and I started cleaning and I did not stop until like literally
- 3:51about six pm. So you know, I took some breads and ship,
- 3:54but I spent a good ten hours cleaning this room, which is not that
- 3:59big, you know, it's yeay big. You know, y'all can see
- 4:01why so many hours, Like what the fuck did you have in there?
- 4:05Not much it was, It's like, I mean, there was no there
- 4:09is. There's a lot of stuff, as you see. I got all
- 4:10the Marvel Legends for days. I've got a lot of books. I've got
- 4:13a lot of records, you know, a lot of vinyl. I've got
- 4:16DJ equipment, I've got I had a lot of paints and stuff for Warhammer
- 4:23and Marvel Legends that I've been painting. Just a lot of stuff, you
- 4:27know, a lot of different things in this room are all my different interests
- 4:29and things. So and then there was a lot of knit knacks and just
- 4:32things, you know, sitting around, like, you know, here's a
- 4:34can of paint over here. You know, here's a book over here.
- 4:38Here's a box full of pens over here, you know, all this stuff.
- 4:42And so I just sat in here, and I remember in Limitless,
- 4:46like a limitless, the dude when he first takes the pill, he just
- 4:49cleans up everything. So that's how I felt. So I just straight up
- 4:51cleaned up everything in here. I readwired stuff, I hid wires, you
- 4:58know, I got the little highe I put them on the wall underneath the
- 5:01table, all this kind of ish, and I feel great, you know
- 5:05what I mean. I feel like I'm ready for war, like I'm bared.
- 5:10Actually actually recommend that to people. I mean, for me, it's
- 5:13just like straight up purging, but like just at least honestly, like once
- 5:16a quarter, but it is even more. That's even better. But like
- 5:20dead ash is going through your stuff, getting rid of as much of as
- 5:24you can away things, giving away as much as you can donaty things.
- 5:28The usual rule of thumb is like unless it's some ventis shit. If it's
- 5:30an item of clothing you have not worn in a year, get rid of
- 5:33it because you're just taking up space. I know everyone's like screaming like no,
- 5:39don't touch my shit, but I'm just like, you know, I'm
- 5:41telling you, your body, your life, your spirit will feel better when
- 5:45you release the things you don't need something. And it's really hard for us,
- 5:47you know, as deeps, you know, as collectors, because I've
- 5:51been a collector all my life, Like I started off for comics and then
- 5:55I started collecting vinyl. I lost all my vinyl in a really horrible incident
- 6:00that was like life changing for me. And only the only way I survived
- 6:04it is because I know other great psych Q Tip and stuff lost all their
- 6:09vinyl in different ways. So shit happens, you know, life goes on.
- 6:14I had to pause for a second there because it hurts still. But
- 6:17you know, as a color, that's hard for me even to this day
- 6:19to get rid of stuff. But I had like this hard cover of part
- 6:25of Why the Last Man, you know, they had like I think it
- 6:27was five hard covers that made it the whole series, and I had one
- 6:30of them. I'm sitting here like why do I have this? Like I've
- 6:32read Why the Last Man a million times. I noticed book backwards and forwards.
- 6:36I don't need this in my house. I can always go read the
- 6:39digital or whatever. So I'm, you know, giving that away to a
- 6:43bookstore or to anyone, comments one or the other, whoever wants it,
- 6:46take it, you know, because gotta go, gotta go. You sound
- 6:48like me when like pop vinyl figures having the choke o bro, like,
- 6:51oh gosh, it was too crazy, Like the little bit you see behind
- 6:56me is nahteen not I dunned off the pop vinyls like that was last month's
- 7:00purge, and then I had to like finish the purge when I did at
- 7:04at the end of the day and the Pop Finals already sitting outside waiting to
- 7:08go. But even there, they're taking up too much space, so they
- 7:11out of here. So you're putting on the stoop though, right you in
- 7:13Brooklyn? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, Pop Finals are doing right
- 7:15on the stoop yeah, and infest the books. I love that in Brooklyn.
- 7:18I love being at a walker and down the block and fine books.
- 7:21So I'm gonna do the same and put some books out for people. My
- 7:26landlord don't really like that though, you know, he like, sorry,
- 7:28stoop looking clean. But I'm like, you don't eat, It's just and
- 7:30it's a couple of hours and then day out, you know they I mean,
- 7:33it's not like you're selling ass on the Stupid's okay. Yeah, there
- 7:38were times when I thought about it. Damn, you're down baving on me.
- 7:46Look, boy, New York is hard, you know what I mean,
- 7:47New York. You know. Look, I wasn't always buying Galactus figure
- 7:53in Marvel Legends ship, you know what I mean. There was times,
- 7:56Damn, there were times they were there. You know, I didn't.
- 8:00I didn't always have things to give away. I was looking to sell things
- 8:03instead of give it away, you know what I mean. But hey,
- 8:07doing something strange, strange change. Hey, it ain't just an aka.
- 8:15So things are a little bit better now though, you know what I mean.
- 8:18So now I'm over here purging stuff, getting rid of things, clean
- 8:22it up. I coppt some new equipment. I copt the new camera,
- 8:26I copped the new USB hub, wires, all kinds of stuff. So
- 8:31I'm like, no, so this is right. Because the other day I
- 8:35was trying to stream and I realized I had these two connecting wires, and
- 8:37the two connecting wires is not allowing the el Gato to get the PlayStation five.
- 8:43So I'm like, no, just one wire, idiot, buy a
- 8:48ten footter, you know what I mean? Just do these little things make
- 8:50your shit right. So that's what I'm doing. I hear you, bro,
- 8:54I hear you, bro. What you know it being damn near December
- 8:58A is the end of the year, and like this could be like a
- 9:01really scary time and a really amazing time for a lot of people. Oh
- 9:05yes, you know what I'm saying, because it's just like, damn,
- 9:07you got one month and a year left. It's like, did you accomplish
- 9:09your goals? You do what you needed to do. But then also it's
- 9:11like, damn, I got a new year, new challenges, new shit
- 9:15to face, and it's just like what do I do? Yeah? Man?
- 9:18And it's also like I always tell people reach out to people around this
- 9:22time because the holidays, like especially when you're doing well, because you'll see
- 9:26you'll forget, you know. And that's something we have to remember, is
- 9:30like when you're not doing well, the holidays to be one of the roughest
- 9:33times for you. You know, everyone's all happy around you and shit,
- 9:37and you're struggling over here. You don't know what it is. It's cold
- 9:39outside, especially people living over here in Northeast. It's fucking freezing. You
- 9:45know, it's depressing. It gets dark at like four o'clock in the afternoon.
- 9:48So reach out to people, y'all for real, like check up on
- 9:52people. Like this year for me was one of those really crazy years where
- 9:58it's been and I've been super blessed and super stressed all in one. You
- 10:03know, it was just it was ridiculous, Like the level of blessings I
- 10:07got this year and the level of stress and like pain and grief I've been
- 10:13dealing with this year. It's just been enormous. I can't even believe title
- 10:18this episode. I like that wows super stressed there. I can't even Yeah,
- 10:22I can't even believe that I'm sitting here smiling and talking about buying Marvel
- 10:26Legendship right now, because just a few we to go, one of my
- 10:30best friends, like somebody I might have considered my brother, passed, you
- 10:33know, mm hmm. And it's crazy. I'm still dealing with it.
- 10:37But I know what he would want. I know what Kenny would want.
- 10:39I know what my dad would want, who also passed this year. It's
- 10:43to for you know, they be like keep going. You know, I
- 10:46know my dad especially, and I know Kenny because that's how he is.
- 10:48You know, my may was a coach. You know, he's he was,
- 10:52you know, damn near on his deathbed and he was trying to get
- 10:54his daughter to practice on time. Wow. Yeah, this motherfucker didn't play.
- 10:58So you know, I mean, like I gotta keep going the same
- 11:01way, and I gotta keep smiling. That's something else I always wrote down,
- 11:05like when I was locked up, when I was incarcerated, that was
- 11:07one of the first things I wrote. I was like, this place will
- 11:09not take your smile away, And it damn sure didn't. And so to
- 11:11this day, I don't know allow pretty much anything to take my smile away
- 11:16for that long. So preach man, I mean, yes, you know,
- 11:20I mean I get sad as fun sometimes, don't get me wrong,
- 11:22but I you know, like I also really focus on that, you know,
- 11:26remembering how blessed I am, things that I've been through, where I'm
- 11:30at now. Yeah, So that's what's up. I like, I don't
- 11:35want to even like follow up with that because like, I feel similar to
- 11:39you, and I think you said it very succinctly, So I like that.
- 11:43All right, So what else is doing on? You know, this
- 11:46is for all nerds show, not just you know us talking about ourselves.
- 11:50You know us talking about ourselves as well. You know, we got to
- 11:54talk some geek culture and all that. You know, So listen, how
- 11:58have you been up to date on it? Yes, of course, Like
- 12:03I mean, yeah, you heard that in my voice, but like that
- 12:05during my purge, I for a long time. Listeners, y'all know this,
- 12:09Like I've been on Invincible on Robert Kurtman since damn near day one.
- 12:16I will never forget the moment I saw the Walking Dead issue one in stores.
- 12:20I bought it. That was something else I lost during my vinyl loss.
- 12:24Don't talk to me about it hurts, But I've never forget being in
- 12:28the store in DC. I can't even remember the damn name of the store
- 12:31now. It had a wild name. I think it was like a Tomic
- 12:33Monkey. It had something with a monkey in it for those who in DC
- 12:37noticed, and it was really weird because there was a lot of black people
- 12:41working in the store and it wasn't called something monkey at first, and then
- 12:45it turned into something monkey. I am. I am not fucking like yo,
- 12:50swear to God. Ask anyone in DC. I'm my man, keV.
- 12:52I'm me and Kevin. We're on Instagram together. I'm gonna hit him
- 12:56up. He might even be listening right now. I'm gonna him up and
- 13:01asked him because it was like it was one name when I first started going
- 13:03in there, and that's when I first met Kevin, and there was this
- 13:05other black cat working in there, super cool, super smart Kevin, super
- 13:09talented illustrator. And then halfway through someone bought it and turned to name the
- 13:16monkey. And we used to be in there, like, yo, fam
- 13:18did they turn to name the monkey? And they got a bunch of black
- 13:20people working in the here bruh. It was wild questionable, you know what
- 13:26I mean. And so that being said, I remember the first time I
- 13:31was in there and I walked them in the stands, I was like,
- 13:33Oh, the Walking Dead. That's an interesting ass name. And I really
- 13:35liked the art by uh, it wasn't Ad Lard. The cover was by
- 13:41Ad Lard did the interiors later on it was the original artist on the cover.
- 13:43I can't remember his name, but I just really liked his art style
- 13:48and it had Rick on the cover and the name was Walking Dead. I
- 13:50was like, Oh, that's dope. And then they're like, oh,
- 13:52you know, if you like this, he writes his other book, Convincible,
- 13:56and I was like, oh, okay, cool, and I bought
- 13:58them both and started following it, and immediately I was like, yo,
- 14:01what the fuck? You know? Walking there too, I was like Yo,
- 14:03what the fuck? Like it's like, I'll never forget when I shout
- 14:05out to Young Giru and I recommended to him. I kept telling about him
- 14:07invitable, and one day he goes into the store, he says, I
- 14:11think he bought the first trade, went home and read it, went back
- 14:15to the store, like, yo, give me everything, and bought the
- 14:18rest of the run right there, and he was I remember him call me
- 14:20on the phone after read the first trade, so YO, being what the
- 14:22fuck, He's like, Yo, you ain't telling me this shit was like
- 14:24this. I was like, bro, I told you this shit was like
- 14:26this. So all that being said for anyone who's just on the show right
- 14:33now, fam, y'all don't know what's coming like this shit is, so
- 14:37I don't know what's coming because I like and it's reminding me how much shit
- 14:43there is. Like there's this huge thing coming with the Viltrumites that you see
- 14:48clearly being built up to, and that's nothing. Like there's a huge war
- 14:52with the Vultramites, and that is nothing. There's so much more after that,
- 14:56right, there's so much more of a for that. That's okay because
- 15:01this show. Listen, even what I have, I know your mind is
- 15:05like you are first thing at the themes when I'm telling you this, the
- 15:09way this show, the way this animated series has just I had listen.
- 15:16When I interviewed Robert and Simon Raciopa, one of the showrunners, I told
- 15:22him I was like, Bro, my sister, who does know nothing about
- 15:26comic books, who does not read comics, watches this shit religiously. The
- 15:30way that they have taken this story again something that I've never read before.
- 15:35I know it was based on comedy. You never read it, no,
- 15:37Bro, Like, it wasn't even until a few weeks ago when you told
- 15:39me it was like fifteen years old or some shit. I said, huh,
- 15:41I didn't even realize it was that old. But I've already been out
- 15:45man, and most people don't understand that or realize that. But the way
- 15:50that they were able to convert this into something that's just like filed with so
- 15:54much I mean again, that is the book, but still so much fucking
- 15:58drama and so much niggle what like at every fucking corner. So I hear
- 16:03you like, we don't see nothing yet, But honestly, it's how I
- 16:07feel now. I've seen some wild shit already, and it's just like in
- 16:11my head, I'm like, yo, they're gonna top this one. They're
- 16:12gonna top this one. I know. The bullshit is the good bullshit it's
- 16:17coming. Okay, I'm with the shits. I'm with it. But then,
- 16:21all right, I thought you had so let me tell y'all. All
- 16:23right, it's Robert Kurtman, and this guy Ottley comes on later, the
- 16:29original artist, how I can't remember his name as well, but Ottley is
- 16:32a younger artist when he starts on this Ryan Otley, Yeah, the original.
- 16:34Corey Walker is the original artist. Corey Walker is another young cat,
- 16:38but when Ryan starts, he's a very young cat. Robert found him on
- 16:41some like website for artists, and Ryan just turns into a monster as the
- 16:48series goes on and Kirtman, you know, is like turning into the great
- 16:53writer that he is on this series as well. So it vincipitates all the
- 16:57tropes like it's straight up road, it's straight up of characters, you know,
- 17:03it's straight up things that happen over and over again, like a character
- 17:08being replaced by a black version of them, you know, things like that,
- 17:11and he just flips all of these different tropes into Invincible. Every single
- 17:17idea that you've ever seen happen in a superhero story is probably going to happen
- 17:22in this, but it's just flipped like as we see Invincible a Superman story.
- 17:26The Vultemites are krypton are Kryptonized Kryptonians? Yes, yeah, so but
- 17:34that being said, what like the violence and things of that nature that you're
- 17:40seeing now are a lot right that of course? Is that more than in
- 17:45the book? No? No, So what's the problem. It's not even
- 17:48the problem. It is what I'm wondering, and I know they're going to
- 17:52go. There is the adult themes that they take on and Invincible go far
- 17:59beyond on what we've seen, like far beyond violence. There's a lot of
- 18:03sex stuff that is. It's very well done, but it is. It
- 18:11is not what you expect to see in a superhero story. It is a
- 18:15lot of things that I don't want to spoil anything, but it's just I
- 18:22know they're going to Like I was distressing it the other day, and I
- 18:23just know they're going to do it because it's such great stuff. Like if
- 18:29I was in that writing room, I'd be like, yo, we gotta
- 18:30do this. But but that ship is wildfam like it's going to I don't
- 18:37know how people are going to take it. I really don't. I don't
- 18:41know how people took it when it was a comic because I wasn't really paying
- 18:45attention to message boards or like wherever people are distressing this forums all that.
- 18:49I wasn't out of reading. I wasn't hearing. The internet wasn't an internet
- 18:52like that. Yeah, like that, and even day it wasn't that popping.
- 18:56And it's still a comic book. I mean, you know, I
- 18:59get you got boilers and stuff, but I don't know. It wasn't one
- 19:02of those comments for everybody was like paying attention. Nah, but let's talk
- 19:04about the actual series, bro, Like that's what I want to talk to
- 19:07you about. That's what I want to like, like the episodes that have
- 19:11been coming out thus far this new season, like overall obviously, I mean
- 19:15as I want to ask you, how do you feel about it? But
- 19:18like I'm I'm fucking like wild crazy about it. Like real quick, before
- 19:22you do that, let's watch the trailer for season two. Okay, so
- 19:27you know those who are watching with us right now, and then we can
- 19:30discress everything and I think we might see a little little bit of stuff that
- 19:36we don't see in so far in the first four episodes. Okay, all
- 19:41right, so let's see what we got here. I'm just trying to make
- 19:45sure. I know, we just froze for everybody watching right now, But
- 19:48don't worry about that. I'm on it, y'all. I'm on it like
- 19:52a boss. Look at that. Look at that? Just sure? All
- 20:00right, hey, look at that. We're so good at this boom so
- 20:06and here we go. This is the invincible trailer. We all remember that
- 20:12day. For some the pain will never fade. When I was a kid,
- 20:21I always wanted to be my dead. What if that happens? What
- 20:26if I become him and I don't even know it. I need to do
- 20:30more. I can save live put me back out there. Mark isn't like
- 20:40other vultremites. He's a good guy. Dinner tonight, go save the world
- 20:45invincible. You're way too good for me. Who are you? I call
- 20:49me the Shapesmith? So funny and I was born with the brown. Oh
- 21:03to cut off the long You have no idea how much I wanted you to
- 21:07say that. It's about I'm gonna let it out. You want your powers,
- 21:14don't with the backhand with the pimp. Ham's not make him pay for
- 21:22what he did to your world. Okay, you remember that? Ye?
- 21:26No, come and get a long choice, asshole. I need so arrogant,
- 21:40just like your father people of Earth. The more you resist, the
- 21:48worse this gets. And if you think you can stop us, don't remember
- 21:55that fake me out. No, don't listen, No, listen, I
- 22:00understand that's a whole nother that's a whole other universe. But remember how they
- 22:03did that where like damn near like fifty five percent episode went by and I'm
- 22:08like, god, damn, this ain't what I think it is and it
- 22:12was just a whole nother you know, universe. But still, but like,
- 22:17let me work my way backwards on this first of all, and it
- 22:21may not be the true. It may be true, but rip to my
- 22:23nigga Alan, Like what the fuck? I walked the fuck bro like that
- 22:30shit. Like the way people be taking l's on this show, it's just
- 22:34beyond the capacity of what I've seen. It's like, I understand it's animated,
- 22:40but goddamn, I be feeling all the cracks and the bruises in the
- 22:44blood, Like my nigga Alan did nothing. He didn't deserve all that,
- 22:48and the way he went out like a g like when he was fighting the
- 22:51vilcher Mike, you know what I'm saying, Like, and he was looking
- 22:53at his girl. He was like, man, I'm gonna eat these shits
- 22:56like Scooby Stacks. No, nigga, you finna die. But damn,
- 23:00I repeating my nigga Alan, Like, oh, I felt so bad.
- 23:04I just want to say that real quick. I don't know how you feel
- 23:07about Allen, but I fuck with Alan, you know what I'm saying.
- 23:11You know what, what's the famous song is that don't say, Milk Shake,
- 23:15Don't say? Is that Shakespeare came the rumors of my death are exaggerated?
- 23:23Yeah, Like, like I know that Nigga is probably not dead.
- 23:26But I'm just saying but that that ship was horrible. That ship was fucking
- 23:32brutal. And I'm so really ill because you get to see how, like
- 23:36you said, he's looking at his girl and he's distracting them attacking his girl
- 23:40by yes, And then like, why the fuck did they have optimist Prime
- 23:49as Methuselah, Like I didn't Yo. That pissed me so bad. That
- 23:52puts me off so bad because I was just like that that voice is so
- 23:56fucking distinctive. And then the right, yeah, and I see that old
- 24:00nigga doing the fucking you know, I'm here to protect the universe type shit.
- 24:06I was like, whoa, Like, it just threw me off a
- 24:07little bit, but you know, I loved it. I loved it because
- 24:11Methuselah as you call him, is gonna be a big character as well.
- 24:15Probably all these characters, you know, all of these characters, my man
- 24:22Captain whatever who shows up at the end with the little cybernetic eye after Mark
- 24:27gets his ass hit. Yo, he just remember what he says is exactly
- 24:34no, no, not ainstream. Ainstream is a whole other thing. We'll
- 24:37get to in a second, I'm talking about the Vilchamite who shows up to
- 24:41Marrow. Yeah, after Nolan gets his ass whipped, you know, and
- 24:45the one shows up and he has this little cybernetic eye and he tells Mark
- 24:49go back to Earth. You now how to take Nolan's place? And I
- 24:53know you don't agree with this shit, but whatever, are you going a
- 24:56little ahead? Because it's that no, this episode four. I just watched
- 25:00episode four that I'm like, what at the end when Nolan after Nolan,
- 25:04oh, after Homeboy, after he goes to that planet. Yes, after
- 25:10Nolan goes to that planet, and okay, at the very end of episode,
- 25:15after the after the big fight with the vil Tramites, when the black
- 25:18dude fights, uh, the black filter might show up and fight Nolan and
- 25:22Mark. You remember all this. I don't think we've seen the latest episode.
- 25:27I think I think you might be one episode. The last episode you
- 25:33saw was Nolan Mark's hand. The last episode I saw was was Mark,
- 25:37Uh like meeting up with Nolan for the first time from yes, okay,
- 25:45I was like, wait a minute, what black people fighting? The girls
- 25:48are fighting? No, oh, audience, no, thise ain't something like
- 25:53I saw this is on Amazon, right now so the audience knows down,
- 25:57Yeah, you're just one episode behind. I was like, Yo, what
- 26:02the fuck? Okay, that's all right, now, that's all right.
- 26:04But I mean, you want to talk about brutality, I haven't even my
- 26:10thing is And that's the what's wow, what's so cold about this show is
- 26:14that ship that happened to Mark wasn't probably the worst of nothing. And that's
- 26:18what's insane to me, because to me, that was the worst brutality I
- 26:21have never seen live action or otherwise. That's your motherfucking son. You threw
- 26:26the nigga through the a tree? What the fuck? Invincible? Rush Hour
- 26:30and Invincible and Walking Dead or two series where at various points I never wanted
- 26:37to read another issue there was and when just like that moment in the story
- 26:42when I saw Walking Dead, I'll never forget where I was when I read
- 26:45this one issue Invincible and I put the ship down in my kitchen in Maryland,
- 26:52and I sat there and I wanted to write to Kurt, and I
- 26:55wanted to tweeted him. You know what, however, I could get it.
- 26:57This motherfucker. I wanted him to know, fuck you, you know?
- 27:03But then I read in that issue and everything was alright in the run.
- 27:06You know overall that means he's a man, that the man's a genius.
- 27:10Let's be real, he's I mean, he is a great writer.
- 27:12He is definitely one of my favorite comic writers. And I think un Invincible
- 27:17and Walking Dead he was at his peaks like he was fucking firing on all
- 27:22cylinders. It's best un Invincible, like Invincible, there's just ship. Like
- 27:26I said, it's it's the violence is one thing, but that's not where
- 27:30the story is. Where it breaks your heart. There is some violence that
- 27:34will break your heart. Broke my heart. Yeah, I'm just like there's
- 27:38some other ship. I mean like that's I mean, there's ship coming and
- 27:42then your think that that's the ill ship you've seen and that's nothing like.
- 27:47And it's just been reminding me because like, okay, Instream, Levey getting
- 27:49back to Ainstrom and that one shot you saw when he's like, uh do
- 27:56to him what he did to your world is there's there's a lot. At
- 28:02one point hated Ainstrom with every fiber of my being, Like I hated this
- 28:07motherfucker, and then I felt for him, and then I hated him again.
- 28:11Then I felt you know he is a lot in this series, and
- 28:17when it's all said and done, he because I've forgotten some shit and I
- 28:22just reread a part of it, I've got the trades right here. For
- 28:25those watching on Twitch, I really highly encourage anyone who's a comic reader to
- 28:30read this book. It is really the art, the story. I really
- 28:36think they're doing it, perhaps an even better job with the show, but
- 28:41I still think that the book is well worth reading cause they're gonna change things
- 28:45and I'm wondering how it'll be interesting. You'll get to have that different perspective
- 28:48like I do. And this is a great fucking comic book. But reading
- 28:52ahead, there's stuff with Ainstrom that sets off and heart because that's how fucking
- 29:04again just genius level this show is. Because it's, like you said,
- 29:08like the whole concept of taking all these memes and tropes of superheroes and comic
- 29:14books and all the things that go along with it and flipping literally everything on
- 29:18its head. And the beauty of it is because because especially if you know
- 29:22an inkling about superhero stuff, that's enough, Like you don't have to be
- 29:25a comic book head because that little bit is familiar, right, And it's
- 29:27also like classic archetype stories, so that familiarity is what draws you in.
- 29:32And that's why I can see where people who have no background on this be
- 29:36into it because you're like, okay, typical, you know, Superman's an
- 29:38archetype, right, Okay, typical situation there, okay, or a Batman
- 29:41type that's an archetype, right, and then bah, some shit happens that
- 29:45you was not fucking expecting and it draws you in even more, like whoa,
- 29:49where's this going? And then also that in joke right of damn near
- 29:55all the characters being mirror images of like their DC or Marvel whatever counterpart,
- 30:00right, Like that's the other shit. That shit goes so hard about this
- 30:03show because people sitting there like, damn I know that person, or damn
- 30:06I know ain't that so and so? Can they do that? Ain't that
- 30:08a carecter? I'm like, it's all free game, Like come on,
- 30:11Superman is killed the Justice League? What the fuck? Yeah? Like no,
- 30:17no, I like it and it and it deals with real life human
- 30:19emotion and all the complication. It's the reason why I like shows like The
- 30:25Boys and Gen B because it puts that idea like you know if it's so
- 30:30too often to me, things like superheroes and superpowers and stuff are idealized,
- 30:33right, Like, well, if this person's gonna get this power, they're
- 30:37gonna all of a sudden want to save niggas. No, ninety percent of
- 30:40these motherfuckers, it's assholes because people are assholes. Now you did have powers
- 30:44too, and then they are a powerful asshole, you know what I'm saying.
- 30:45Like, and that's where I'm like, that's the real story, right,
- 30:49how do people react? Right? Like you know how they say about
- 30:53money, right, Like when someone gets money, just become more of what
- 30:56they really are. To me, it's the same thing with powers, Like
- 30:59you was all already a horrible person to begin with. If you have powers,
- 31:03then hey, you're just gonna live that life. And and like I
- 31:06said, I mentioned that for stuff like The Boys, but to me also
- 31:08Invincibles in that same threat, Like, Yo, this is how people really
- 31:11motherfucker act, and how do you deal with that? Right? Like,
- 31:15it's just it's just brilliant. It's brilliant, brilliant, brilliant story. I
- 31:18mean, absolutely absolutely brilliant. Shout out to Lock it Down, Shout out
- 31:22to Don Magic Wan Wan, punch Man, magic Man. Yeah, ze
- 31:30Keena seventy five attacked the block. Everybody else in the chat bit shouts to
- 31:36y'all, ye had to do with the cybernetic eyes. Who I'm talking about?
- 31:38Ty Danna hasn't seen that episode? Yeah, yeah, be quiet?
- 31:41Somebody Yeah, somebody else talked about how did he get busy with that cricket?
- 31:47That's another story entirely. Ali shout out, Oh, I don't even
- 31:52know if they said his name yet. Yeah, don't worry, don't worry
- 31:55that you don't even you don't even have a name yet. But listen,
- 31:56listen. I have questions though, yes, Like like I said, like,
- 32:00I'm obviously I'm not gonna recap every episode, but I have like fucking
- 32:01questions and equips. Like, first of all, why did Mark's mom really
- 32:07think she had a friend in that AA meeting or you know, heroes anonymous
- 32:10meeting? I mean was talking the liquor? Hey, no, Lika,
- 32:15that's strong. Your your husband is op to the world, bro to the
- 32:22world, not even op to like one or two month fucker op to the
- 32:24world, the planet Earth Earth, Like, yes, thank you, don
- 32:30don Masakwan punch Man. I can't say your whole name. But yes,
- 32:34she got way too comfortable that shit like blew me like and I get it.
- 32:37She's in a vulnerable position. She was like, oh, I need
- 32:40somebody talk to and she even said as much. But it's like, fam,
- 32:44you gotta have some wherewithal like people is not your friend. You are
- 32:49married. We're married to op of the planet Terry system right like to the
- 32:54Milky Way galaxy. So I don't know, I don't I don't know.
- 33:00Yeah, ain't no way either. That all all, like Debbie's whole story
- 33:05has dritten a lot more expanded in the show. Even though they dealt with
- 33:09some of this, there's been a lot more to it. And I've been
- 33:12loving that. Can I love Debbie in the book and I love to see
- 33:15more of it. So yeah, you know, she slipped up. Man,
- 33:17she was looking for somebody. She got nobody. Imagine that, Like
- 33:22that's something we can't put ourselves in the showers. Her man is out to
- 33:25the world and he gone, and she got no one, and her son
- 33:29gone, what do you mean she got the fucking She can't talk to that
- 33:34nigga. He's a monster. No her homegirl. That's like a playoff of
- 33:39the red Woman niggas, Black Widow. Black Widow was married to the Russian
- 33:45the flash. But black widow is the one that gave her. Widow is
- 33:51the one I gave it a card, like, hey, maybe this canna
- 33:52help you out. She could have talked to black widow, It's all I'm
- 33:53saying. Say black widow is a drunk too, and she can't talk to
- 33:57her forever, And say, black widdow husband was killed by your husband,
- 34:02and fake black widow knew that. My point is fake black Widow understood this
- 34:07situation and was the only one even giving Debbie the time of day. So
- 34:10why don't you just go and sit and talk to your little friend? Why
- 34:13you gotta talk to these niggas. First of all, I understood how what
- 34:16that black man felt when he found Oh damn right, like like how would
- 34:20you fucking say that? And and again I understand she's she's she's vulnerable,
- 34:23But damn Debbie, like we gotta have somewhere with thor And only I only
- 34:28so fans, I only so harsh about it because I want her to protect
- 34:34herself, because niggas will kill her just for her affiliation. That And yes,
- 34:38you could say well, Mark will come get her. Mark is fucking
- 34:40off world right now? What the fuck? You know what I'm saying,
- 34:44what's to stop that black man a be like, oh, I know what
- 34:45this bitch I'm you donna look for her because he has a vendetta, you
- 34:49know what I'm saying, Like, Nah, bro, you gotta be smarter,
- 34:52you gotta be smarter. Yeah, Well, she's ulnerable, you know
- 34:55what I mean. It's a tough time for her. You know. Look,
- 34:59I feel protect herself. I do too, but trust you know,
- 35:02it just don't get worse before it gets better. No, And what's the
- 35:07name of the man the babysitter, Mark's babysitter that he be getting my nerves
- 35:12because I'm like, he'd be trying to do too much. That's what I
- 35:14was talking about. He's a monster. Cecil, thank you Cecil. Yeah,
- 35:19cee soel Cecil doing a little too much for me, like his whole
- 35:23because to me, he treating Mark like a fucking lap dog, right,
- 35:28And it's like I kind of get you, but I don't, my guy,
- 35:30like the way you be trying to control niggas. Like I listen,
- 35:36at the end of the day, I don't really think you fuck with Mark
- 35:37like that, no matter what you say, Like, no matter, Oh,
- 35:40I'm just trying to protect you. I don't want you become your father.
- 35:44You don't trust Mark. You also believe Marcus the ops. You've probably
- 35:46been to all the other the other universes and seeing when Mark become and that's
- 35:52how you already have bias against him, Like I just I don't see it.
- 35:54For Cecil, that's just me. Well, you know, Cecil's doing
- 35:59his best job to protect Earth. That's his first thing. Cecil is nit
- 36:01Fury. So you know, if niit Fury felt a threat, what's he
- 36:07gonna do. He gonna go after that threat. He's going He's gonna neutralize
- 36:09that threat. So that's Cecil, I think, be making mistakes. Don't
- 36:15you need nit Fury be making mistakes? He do, you know, But
- 36:21we forgive him because he's black and ces the white. So that's all there
- 36:24is to it, straight up. There ain't no other exchews behind it,
- 36:28you know, and I feel it, hey, you know what I mean.
- 36:30It's like Obama and man, it was out bombing people every day just
- 36:34like every other white president. Oh well you had to bring it to home.
- 36:38Thanks, Thanks a lot thanks a lot better. I mean, still
- 36:43love Michelle, but you know they were terrorists too. The chat saying Cecil
- 36:49is just protecting Cecil, he ain't protecting the earth. Noah, I disagree.
- 36:54I disagree there. Cecil is ruthless, but he's damn sure protecting the
- 36:58earth. But he's ruthless about it. You know, see Sills the Man
- 37:00in Black, Like he does what needed to be done. Okay, I
- 37:05don't, Yeah, I don't. I don't feel like Cecil's and in the
- 37:07book, Cecil's definitely about the Earth all the way to the end. Okay.
- 37:12Yeah. And then how you feel, well, I mean, first
- 37:15of all, love I love being able to see Adam Eves's backstory, Like
- 37:17what last month during Comic Con when we got to see Adam Eves. Oh
- 37:23yeah that been dropped. Yeah yeah, that's what I'm saying. But I
- 37:25love seeing her backstory because first of all, like I know, like,
- 37:30and that's something that Robert has said during our interview, you had mentioned that,
- 37:34you know, that was something that was never really fully fleshed out.
- 37:36So so they got a chance to actually show that, you know, show
- 37:39how she came to be her parents and all the other stuff. And you
- 37:44know, when I look at someone like that that got those types of powers,
- 37:46I'm like, that's so much fucking discipline. Like remember what I said
- 37:49before about like powers just make you more of who you already are. For
- 37:52her to like not just constantly materialize anything she wants, and maybe she has,
- 37:58I don't know, but it just to me just like she's fair about
- 38:00it. I don't think I'll be fair about it. I don't know.
- 38:05Well, yeah, no, I would definitely be fair Adam. That's why
- 38:07I love Adam if she's a really dope character, because she's one of those
- 38:10characters who realizes her powers aren't best suited to fighting villains. But then as
- 38:15they've shown like that it's not that easy just to make people houses and stuff.
- 38:21Because in the book, in the book, I will say this,
- 38:23that was one of Kurtman's really wild things, Like most white people, Adam
- 38:29just go to Africa at one point, straight up Africa, you know what
- 38:31I mean, not no country, just Africa, you know, And then
- 38:37they show her off in the bush of course, and it's just Africa is
- 38:42some you know, place where there's like planes and grasses. And now,
- 38:47yeah, so they're going to improve on that because I feel like they're not
- 38:52just to shunt her off to Africa like they did, because I think that's
- 38:55a member of the Peace Corps. I think that would happen right about now
- 38:59or have happened already. So I think that when the house falling apart was
- 39:02them being like, Okay, that's not the story we're gonna tell, because
- 39:07if we do that in Africa, it's even worse. And also Africa,
- 39:10you know, Jesus Christ Hurtman, Look you know it's Africa. Oh straight
- 39:16up, she dead ass. I was gonna I think I was to post
- 39:20it. I think I took the shots of the pages because they're so like,
- 39:22She's like, I'm going to Africa, you know, type shit.
- 39:24It is trifling. And then they and then Grays and Mark and Amber,
- 39:30who is a white woman in the book, go to visit her in Africa
- 39:36and they're off in the bush and Amber, this blond haired white woman,
- 39:39is like, Oh, this is amazing Africa. You know, are they
- 39:42on a Safari? No, she just lives in the fucking bush because that's
- 39:46what we've been doing Africa. So is that why they have her in the
- 39:49fucking treehouse in the TV show. Oh fuck, they showed the treehouse.
- 39:54She lives in the goddanty? What she lives in the treehouse with the fuck
- 39:58you mean when she left her parents? How she made Oh yeah, yeah,
- 40:01yeah, yeah, that's how. But in the no, in the
- 40:05book she does it in Africa. Okay, well they scratch Africa. She's
- 40:07like, around God, thank God, thank your lucky stars. They scratched
- 40:12Africa Because reading that ship, I was like, this is ultra trifling,
- 40:15And every time I reread the book, I'm like, this is so trifling,
- 40:20pure trifling. Yeah yeah, but I still I still like her as
- 40:23a character. No, No, that's what I'm saying. She's amazing.
- 40:25She's one. Look, Adam Eve is. You know, she's a redheaded
- 40:30tuber power woman. It doesn't take much to get me to love them.
- 40:32But at the same time, she is one of my favorite She's up there
- 40:37with Jean Gray. Like, Adam Eve and Jean Gray are probably my two
- 40:39favorite red Well no, there's all I mean, all of them, Rachel
- 40:43Summers, Hope Summers, all them fuckers. I love them. But then
- 40:45there's Adam Eve. You know, it's the whole Jean Gray and Summers plan.
- 40:51And then Adam Eve. Because Adam Eve is such a great character.
- 40:54Man, I fucking love her her, like Kurtman's saying that, But they
- 41:00fleshed her stuff out in the book too. They had that same mini series
- 41:02with her. They had an Adam Eve mini series, and her stuff with
- 41:07the parents is in the book. It's that's what I mean. I love
- 41:09her, man, and she's winning the parts when I fucking wanted to stop
- 41:14reading the Look, man, don't funk with Adim Dog. You know,
- 41:19Tadanna, you just dropped me the pen at New York Comic County. You
- 41:22saw how overjoyed I was to get this Adam Eve penn. Like I used
- 41:24to have an Adam shirt, you know early, like I've been Adam then.
- 41:30Yeah, I'm always on my ginger fetish fan, keep it real,
- 41:34Like, what are you talking about, bro? This is from Dave Fetish.
- 41:37This is a lifestyle. Is Mark's friends as prominent in the book.
- 41:44So like I know you said, like, yeah, as a white woman,
- 41:46but like a white woman, but his roommate, his roommate, yes,
- 41:52hiss, they roommate is still get in the book. It's handled better
- 41:57on the show because once again, Kurtman's a straight white man who doesn't know
- 42:00everything, and there's probably a couple of little dumb jokes, but it's still
- 42:04handled very well in the book too. You know, it is like William
- 42:07William is great in the book as well. The whole thing with the other
- 42:12dude getting captured by that scientist, all happens in the book. All of
- 42:15that. Oh okay, yeah, Like this is like it's expanded, but
- 42:20it is the book, That's what I mean. Like, there's not anything
- 42:22that I've seen on Spring so far that wasn't in the book. Like there's
- 42:27things that have been spanning on, but it's still all there. Like Adam
- 42:30Eves Batstory already knew that with the old mute and ugly ass kids, all
- 42:35that shit was all in the book, all disgusting, just like that,
- 42:38everything that's fucking come on to Ainstrom Levy is you know, it's like I'm
- 42:43and that's the worst part because certain shit, there's certain like all the shit
- 42:49with Robot, Monster Girl, all these characters, there's mad shit that happened
- 42:52with them, and certain shit. Kirkman caught me off guard. Kirtman was
- 42:57a master of the last page review or the mid page reveal. He's a
- 43:01master of that of leaving you like, oh what the fuck at the end
- 43:05of inn issue. He is such a master of that, And so there
- 43:07was certain stuff that I just did not seek coming, and then when you
- 43:12reread it, you see it coming. So watching the show, it's just
- 43:16like a fuck, yeah, yeah, of course yeah, because there's just
- 43:20stuff that I know they're not they're gonna do, like I don't. I
- 43:23don't the major plot points. I really don't see them changing, Like the
- 43:28major plot points I don't, and they don't need to. They don't need
- 43:30to. The formula works. You don't mess with the formula. And because
- 43:34of that, it's like there's some horrific shit coming that I just am like,
- 43:37there's inevitable, and it just feels like fuck. I mean, minus
- 43:44the horrific ship. I want to say, one of my highlights of this
- 43:46series, and granted we only saw them for a little bit, one of
- 43:50my hoighest series is always The Wallest Wins. They're so great, They're so
- 43:54great. In the book, I always spoiled something that happened. Shut the
- 44:00fuck up. I know there's a in the last episode that you haven't seen
- 44:05yet. There's another great Maller turns moment, but they are amazing throughout the
- 44:10whole series. I can't remember where they end up by the end of it.
- 44:15No, but it doesn't even matter what these niggas end up. Like
- 44:17anytime they on screen, I'm there comedy that that pure comedy, and that
- 44:23whole situation about the I'm the first one, I'm the original, No you
- 44:27to copy, Like since day one, that shit's been the best. Like,
- 44:30I just enjoy them. And and that's probably again another reason why I
- 44:34just like to show so much. There is people in this bitch that I
- 44:37fucking truly enjoy, right, characters that I truly truly enjoy. And like
- 44:42you're saying, I'm sure there's gonna be somebody that I just religiously do not
- 44:45fuck with soon enough. It's not there yet, but oh my god,
- 44:49there's gonna be people you Asham Levu is to be one of those people you
- 44:53religiously do not fuck. You think, so yeah for a good minute,
- 44:57Yeah for a good minute, and then you might go to the way with
- 45:00them for a second, and then you might go back. But yeah,
- 45:01there's three times. And and you know, the funniest thing is there's people
- 45:06you've met already that you are gonna religiously not fuck. There's a few people
- 45:13beyond Ainstron who you have met already who by points in this serious you are
- 45:19going to want to kill them with like if oh my god, there's a
- 45:23character I'm not I'm not telling you any but there's a character who we've met
- 45:28already who every time they're on screen, I'm just like, die, you
- 45:32know, die before you do what you're gonna do, you fucking bastard,
- 45:36you know. And I and it's like I and like that was one of
- 45:38those things I was talking about, like it's coming, you know, it
- 45:43is inevitable, and I already see they've already started, you know, walking
- 45:46down that path to where it's gonna go. And it's just like, ah,
- 45:50fuck, okay, Like it's so funny. It's like it's the complete
- 45:52opposite of watching the new Stott Pilgrim series, where everyone I have no idea
- 45:59what's going on. I'm still kind of on it. I can't lie,
- 46:02but at the very least I have no idea what will happen in every episode.
- 46:07While with this, I pretty much know I'm loving it, but I
- 46:12pretty much know what's going to happen. So because of that, there's certain
- 46:15I'm just like, oh fuck, oh fuck. I mean, does that,
- 46:20like the fact that you essentially know what's gonna happen, does that take
- 46:23any of the joy away from you? Or it's because it's being presented in
- 46:28animated format, And no, it's not even that. It's because it's one
- 46:30of those things when people talk about spoilers right like, they do hurt sometimes
- 46:34in certain instances, but then in the long run, they really don't matter
- 46:37because once you've seen it, if it's that good like this, I can't
- 46:43tell you how many times before there was ever a thought of an animated series.
- 46:47I've reread these. I can't tell you invinible with one of those books
- 46:52that I've just front to back. You know, I've read the graphic,
- 46:58I've read every issue and seeing then I bought the Trades. I read The
- 47:01Trades over and over again. You know, I've talked to Kirtman about the
- 47:05series like I've you know, I talked to Ali, I met you know,
- 47:08I met Tory Walker. Everybody involved in the series I met talked to.
- 47:13I've you know, distrussed it with friends for years. It's one of
- 47:16my core books. Did you speak to Ryan because he was at Comic Con
- 47:20this year. I met Ryan well before that, not this year, but
- 47:22I've met him well before that. I talked to him all about it,
- 47:24told him how much of a god he is to me, you know all
- 47:27that. Yeah, we've been there, you know, I bought art from
- 47:30him. Yeah, been there, Like you know what I'm saying, I've
- 47:32been on these niggas, you know, like this is like for years now.
- 47:36Probably the first time of con we went to, I was on Kirtman
- 47:38and Ali, you know, like this been there. It's like one of
- 47:42my major books of my adult life. When I came home, this is
- 47:45yeah, like we had I mean I was reading him right before I got
- 47:47locked up and then so when I came home, it was it was just
- 47:50a book that meant a lot to me. So and it's such an adult
- 47:53ass book, you know, and it's so many things. It's an adult
- 47:57ass show. Yeah, And that's why I keep saying. The violence and
- 48:00shit is one thing, But it's the stuff like that you see with Debbie,
- 48:02you know, like dealing with grief. You know, there's to be
- 48:06a lot of stuff like that. There's just so much shit like like when
- 48:10Giru read it, he was say, yo, what the fuck? And
- 48:13I was just like, bruh, that's what it is, you know,
- 48:15it's like it is, it is what it is, but it is.
- 48:19And like I said, there's characters you've seen that you will grow to love
- 48:22and then hate and you'll understand why they're doing what you're what they're doing,
- 48:24you'll still hate them for it. It's man, yo, Amazon on the
- 48:30ship. I just want to say that, yeah right now. And I
- 48:34actually I caught up to gen Z gen V excuse me, and you've seen
- 48:38it, right. I don't care. I care that I don't like The
- 48:45Boys enough to watch more of gen Z. I think The Boys is pretty
- 48:51good. Don't get me wrong. I'm a person who's read every issue of
- 48:54The Boy's prom all the spin offs everything. They never really did a gen
- 48:59V. They did the other stuff, and I overall didn't really like it.
- 49:05You know. I think it's why you don't like The Boys. Okay,
- 49:08okay, the Voice comic and The Boys show well, the Boys comic
- 49:13I didn't like because it was like the It's like The Dark Convincible. It
- 49:15takes every trope you've ever known about superheroes. And then it's just like,
- 49:19fuck it, Let's make it as weird and distrusting as we can. And
- 49:22it's kind of very juvenile, even though it's everybody growing ass man. But
- 49:25that's one of his things, Garth, and that's what he does when he's
- 49:29on. He's on. Like he had this other book, a hit Man,
- 49:32which is about a hit Man and it takes place in the DC universe
- 49:36that if it barely features any DC characters, and it's one of my favorite
- 49:38series ever. And in one issue he meets Superman and it's one of those
- 49:43it's probably one of the best Superman stories ever told. In this one issue,
- 49:46you know, it's like heartbreaking, like fucking it gets to the essence
- 49:52of why Superman is Superman. It's just like I'm getting chills at my spot
- 49:55thinking about it. So when Garth is Garth, he can be a genius
- 50:00and then he can do shit like the Boys, which is kind of whatever.
- 50:02I think the show is leagues better, and I think the show is
- 50:06really good up to a point, but then I think the show falls into
- 50:08that white managed thing where it wants to make everything is can be a villain.
- 50:15You know, it wants to make the left as bad as the right,
- 50:17you know, and I just don't believe in that bullshit both sides.
- 50:21Yeah, and I don't believe in that bullshit for one second. That I
- 50:23don't really believe the left is that much better than the right right right,
- 50:28But I think I'm saying but I think saying that they're the same, or
- 50:31that they can both be villainous as wild crazy when one is once more freedom
- 50:37versus one of us to take it away, that doesn't make sense. I
- 50:39think both of them as some bullshit. But yeah, so obviously gen V
- 50:43is predicated off of the Boys, but like because of your not being one
- 50:47hundred percent on the boys, you wasn't even interested in gen V. People
- 50:52saying it's good, My Boys is really good good, But I've seen that.
- 50:58Look, people were saying it's less bros. But I've seen enough from
- 51:00what I've been read on the internet about what happens in it that it's still
- 51:04pretty gross. It's still pretty gross, and no, let's be let's be
- 51:07fucking yeah, Frank Footer is pretty fucking gross. Still. I might get
- 51:12to it fan, but I'm just like, like I'm kind of like I've
- 51:15said this before, I don't I'm kind of at the point where I don't
- 51:19care for superhero lated. You gotta be great television for me to watch a
- 51:22series, and good television good Is it the Bear? No, it's not
- 51:29the Bear. See that's what I'm saying. Is it Reservation Dogs? Then
- 51:36I don't have time for a series. I can watch a movie. I
- 51:39can watch a pilot. I can't give you ten episodes. If you're not
- 51:44giving me great television anymore, I can't do it. I can do it
- 51:49if we have to review it, and even then, like as it's become
- 51:51I'm not really stressing reviewing anymore. I think Invincible is pretty good to great
- 51:57and it's not and the episodes aren't that long, and I like, you
- 52:00know, the animation and everything so and the voice acting is great. So
- 52:05that's but yeah, I'm not gonna watch something if it's just good. You
- 52:09know, it's like I've seen it before. I know what's no, you
- 52:13know, I know how to throwing blah blah blah. You know it's like,
- 52:16wow, Yeah, I've gotten real tight. I don't watch much right
- 52:22now. I've been watching The Bear. I'm into season two. I'm almost
- 52:24I got to the Yeah, I got to the Thanks Saving episode and I
- 52:28had to pause. Yeah, I know everybody talks about fishes and how great
- 52:31it is. Yeah, I know, so I haven't watched that yet,
- 52:34but it's been fantastic. Every episode, like the Bear is phenomenal, you
- 52:38know, reservation thoughts. I stuff two more episodes because it broke my heart
- 52:44this whole last season three, and so we've been chilling on it. We
- 52:46gotta get back to that and you know, we gotta finish that up.
- 52:49But yeah, yeah that's me. I have not I don't watch much.
- 52:52I'm on that movie Rustling on Netflix right now. That's pretty solid. Yep,
- 53:00that's what I mean. I just don't watch. And lately I've watched
- 53:02a lot less, Like I watched Cameron Maye shout out to as it is
- 53:06what it is. That's my morning routine. I watched them in the morning,
- 53:09and then I watch a lot of battle rap videos because I've been creating
- 53:13more stuff. So I don't watch a lot of stuff because I've just been
- 53:15focused on creating. So unless it's like fantastic shit. I watched Across the
- 53:20Spider Verse again the other day and I was like, god fucking damn,
- 53:23mind blowing yeah, okay, Well, I guess I'll be reviewing The Boys
- 53:27and gen V on my own. That's okay, that's okay, but you're
- 53:32gonna have to I mean, I might get to it eventually. No,
- 53:36I'm not going to force that. I'll try to pilot and I want to
- 53:37go back to, like I'm caught up on The Boys, so when it
- 53:40comes back, I'll probably go back to it. I mean, my thing
- 53:45is gen V Like, yes, there's things you've seen before, especially as
- 53:49a writer, especially everything that you just said. Yes, there's things that
- 53:51are not going to surprise you. You're gonna be like, okay, okay,
- 53:52okay, send it. However, there's some themes that they handle exceptionally
- 53:58well that they that I haven't seen in TV. You know, not too
- 54:02many times in TV in the recent and recent times. I would say it's
- 54:06been done, but not, you know, to to that level of good.
- 54:07So I would say there's there's some merits to the show. So I
- 54:12mean, give it a shot, but I don't. I don't know.
- 54:15Well, maybe maybe the pilot will do it for you. I'll definitely give
- 54:17the pilot. I love watching pilot, so I would definitely give the pilot
- 54:21a shot. Yeah, and it's already been green light. I saw this
- 54:24whole first season. It's been green lit for season two. The Voice is
- 54:28going to pick up where gen V left off. So and well, you
- 54:32know, it's interesting, that's it because I just yeah, and I'm not
- 54:37like I say, when the Boys went with the season when they did AOC
- 54:42is a villain, That's why I was kind of like. And then even
- 54:44the season where they had storm Front and they were kind of making Homelander to
- 54:49be the better version when they're both monsters. They at first, but then
- 54:53they kind of put that right back to where it needed to be. Yeah,
- 54:55but even now, homelanders a little bit too humanized for me on this
- 55:00show, and he's a little bit too where and they say they'd do this
- 55:06to make him a monster, but they give him so much spreen time that
- 55:09people who idolize him are just story to idolize him more. Just isn't that
- 55:14how the world works? Isn't that how the US works? I think that's
- 55:17how it works. But I think a better written show could avoid that.
- 55:22You know, I think you don't want that perpetuated. Yeah, I think
- 55:28that's the problem I have with the Boys is I don't think it's done well
- 55:30enough. I think it really is leaning into the fact that the actor plays
- 55:36a Homeland there's so charismatic, so great at it. So it's like,
- 55:38let's have as much scene with him. And when they did that season,
- 55:40when they had Stormfront, because in the book it doesn't go exactly down like
- 55:45that, and so when they had Stormfront and him team up and then at
- 55:49one point he's like, oh, no, you're evil, you know,
- 55:51it's like yeah, like no, that's not how Homeland. With Homeland wouldn't
- 55:53be like, oh you're evil, like yeah, And even if he did,
- 55:57it's just because the way they Yeah. And then I actually had to
- 56:00reread the plot of the Bloys recently on Wikipedia because there were certain things I
- 56:05was trying to confuse about how it ends and stuff, and they're not gonna
- 56:08go that way. And because of that, I'm not I don't know how
- 56:14they're gonna go. Man. But I don't trust it, is what I
- 56:16would say. You know, I don't trust it, and I feel like
- 56:19it's creating more problems than it's solving hm hm, you know, and I
- 56:24don't And for media, I really have issues with that is so especially something
- 56:30like this where it's so charged, and I see so many comic con dressing
- 56:35him as Homelander, and you know, he's become a right wing favorite and
- 56:40he is right, I mean, but that's the whole point is to be
- 56:43right, being figure about hear you. They don't need any more mascots,
- 56:45right, yeah, or they need masktots made them look like the monsters they
- 56:49are. Don't don't make it where it's I don't know. They told a
- 56:53fine line with him on that show you talk about the cosway for what is
- 56:57worth. I've never seen a white Homelander, only a black one word that
- 57:01ass multiple. But I also seen the Asian Homelanders. You're out. I've
- 57:05seen all kinds of homelanders. Motherfuckers love being a fascist. It's a it's
- 57:13a costume. Take it off and take it on. Motherfuckers love being a
- 57:17fascist. Boy. It's just like with Star Wars and how everybody loves dressing
- 57:22up as stormtroopers, which is so wild to me. Well, well,
- 57:29first of all, listen, even like even when I was coming up,
- 57:31like I never appealed, not appealed, but it never occurred to me that
- 57:37that was fascism, right, It wasn't like clearly probably till I met you
- 57:42that that's what all that was about. I just saw, oh, this
- 57:45is the bad guy that's in you know suits, you know, in white
- 57:49and white armor as a kid, right, and then you get some more
- 57:52contexts that you get older. But then, like you said, like when
- 57:54you've seen it in pop culture where it's like they had fucking Disneyland going jokes
- 58:00at each other, you know, same memes and stuff, it's just like
- 58:01you don't take them seriously, so they don't have that same connotation of fascism
- 58:06anymore. So I totally I know you said it's weird, but I totally
- 58:08understand why no one are people to dress up with them. Don't think that.
- 58:12Don't think twice about it that they've been newtered. Like whatever storm Troopers
- 58:15were supposed to stand for in the beginning, they do not stand for that
- 58:17shit no more, at least so far. And see, I think the
- 58:21same thing is happening with Homeland, or to an extent, I feel like
- 58:22eventually they're going to have the Boys Children show and then it'll be all the
- 58:25way over, yeah, because that's you know, the money making won't stop.
- 58:31And so I think that's where they'll go with this. It's just completely
- 58:35neuter. It like these niggas are toys and that's how people look at them.
- 58:37They are. They're just part of of things for entertainment. So I
- 58:44get it. This is what it is. Did you have any more trailers
- 58:49or was it? Like? I know we did that trailer for emphasis,
- 58:52but did you have any I actually did have a couple more there was.
- 58:54Yeah, I want to see something, a couple of Bollywood joints that I
- 58:58want to Oh shit, so let's you know, let's get it into some
- 59:00of that. We want some R well, we want some r R stuff
- 59:04right now, Chile, real quick. Let's get into that. Let me
- 59:07see what we're doing over here, see if I can make all this magic
- 59:12happen. Once again, thank you to everybody out there, Twitch, dot
- 59:15tv, slash for all nerds for watching this with us live as it were.
- 59:22And yeah, this is the trailer for Animal, starring our Ranby Coopoor
- 59:28or maybe I'm not sure. I say I don't. I don't know,
- 59:31but I know this joint is big, big things right here, Animal,
- 59:37So let's check it out. Yeah, let's see it, because I have
- 59:43no idea beyond the name. What the hell right? It's baking a big
- 59:55fish center. Had Michael Jackson, you would have to her Michael Jackson recorded.
- 1:00:01I mean he get okay sub titles or I think okay, she does.
- 1:00:10We have no subtitle version, so I guess I downloaded him. Are
- 1:00:15So I heard Michael Jackson and I'm a fan of Michael. I'm getting pup
- 1:00:19fitch and vibes kill Bill, kill Bill. I could see killed Bill.
- 1:00:25I bet I know you mat all right? Okay, man, he adores
- 1:00:34you, skinny superhero like Nick Cage, any Nick Cage. I've got my

- 1:00:52this is giving killed Bill? And what's doing? A junk? No country
- 1:01:00for old men? Call time? But Mary, Papa, up your hair?
- 1:01:10You're doing? You have a substripation. I know music going h I
- 1:01:21like that, mad God? Damn up your son? Oh yeah, that's
- 1:01:39it, hey man, I mean they just give away the hope, give
- 1:01:49away the whole lost it especial to be like fifteen hours long heavy by She's
- 1:02:05not so what about how people missioning doing in your head? Do you realize
- 1:02:15that said learn you want a car down? I'll just keep by the coroach
- 1:02:22B's in the box, not in the bar. What what is he shooting
- 1:02:36with it? What's up here? Harvey? I got it to This is
- 1:02:51the whole movie. This is love its mark Oh ship, O g got
- 1:03:07him first. So a couple of days O g now og laying on him,
- 1:03:15on him, taking a smoke. Oh that was wild, disrespectful.
- 1:03:20I live. I live with diff respectful ship like that. Come on,
- 1:03:24yes, I got one more for us. Uh, let's see this is
- 1:03:35live k I'm sorry. I was gonna say, like, it's less triblear
- 1:03:38where it's just like lots of like wirework and random crazy shit happening, and
- 1:03:43more like kill Bill like hyper violence but obviously not real but closer to realism.
- 1:03:49So I think this might be a little bit more of the are wild
- 1:03:54out. So let's see Kara a Legend chapter one. All right. I
- 1:04:02would say that no matter the language, I was able to follow. Oh
- 1:04:05yeah, wha, this is like how Homeboy came into the forest and then
- 1:04:15Kelly kind is not today? Is that him? No, I don't even
- 1:04:24know. I'm not the blood Moon not Zelda. Music is fire. Yeah,
- 1:04:42the music goes hard. Oh my god, A legend was born Hercules.
- 1:04:47I mean, he's a mix between a lot of that. I think
- 1:04:59it's just a teaser. I don't think we're getting much here. Okay,
- 1:05:14the shop shutty. It's like you get the whole fucking story, or you
- 1:05:23get like a bunch of cool graphics, the one between no one between No
- 1:05:29but that ship. Listen, even that little bit look cool. I'm with
- 1:05:31it. That's pretty good. Animal definitely has my interest. Yeah, Animal
- 1:05:40definitely has my interest. There's something right now, maybe somebody in the chat
- 1:05:42nos there's something on Netflix or Prime something that everyone is like, it's the
- 1:05:46new r R that I need to pep. If anyone knows, please let
- 1:05:50me know because I've been trying to know things. No, bro, there's
- 1:05:55a lot of you know, it's don't don't sleep. They's got the same
- 1:05:59vibe, like the same you know, revolutionary type vibe, all that stuff.
- 1:06:02You know, it's like a different story. Yes, I actually read
- 1:06:04this. I read a blurb about it somewhere and that's what got my interest.
- 1:06:08They were like, it's the same type of vibe. It's not the
- 1:06:10same story, but it's you know what, the same you know. Fuck
- 1:06:13the White Man's story. That I'm feeling, you know, Okay, I'm
- 1:06:15with it. Like my man Mellow said the other day, his favorite genre
- 1:06:18is always fuck the Cops, no matter where it takes places, because he's
- 1:06:23talking about Gunda being a fucked the police in the future, and you know
- 1:06:28by the police is always worked. So yeah, facts uh, speaking about
- 1:06:32the future, there is you know. Before we get out of here,
- 1:06:35man, I do have a little big announcement. Man, I just wanted
- 1:06:39to talk about. Yes, because this is like over a year in the
- 1:06:43making. This Friday, December first, I'm releasing my first song. It's
- 1:06:46a well, it's a remix of Childish Stambinos feels like Summer. It's a
- 1:06:51big room, deep house, soulful, funky joint that I made remix.
- 1:07:00This is joined into some real powerful energy and side note that you know,
- 1:07:04it feels like Summer is about global warming. That would make a lot of
- 1:07:10sense. I did not notice. I didn't working on this track for months
- 1:07:15now, and just the other day I finally googled the lyrics because I'm always
- 1:07:17humming the shit, yeah, and I never know exactly what they're saying.
- 1:07:21Yeah. He clearly says that he talks about how bees are going, how
- 1:07:25the birds do sing anymore? Every day is hotter than the one before.
- 1:07:31Yeah, and he talks about how the people need to slow down, how
- 1:07:34he hopes the world will change. I hope this world will change, but
- 1:07:40things just stay the same. Yeah, it's a very just staying the same.
- 1:07:43Yeah. I never I never listened to the lyrics, but it makes
- 1:07:45a lot of sense. Yeah. So yeah, this Friday, December first
- 1:07:48on band camp, DJ Ben, I mean band Camp, woo, that's
- 1:07:51out there. Go follow that right now. It's dropping over there. And
- 1:07:56on sound cloud, uh d dj Ben, I mean I think it is
- 1:08:00on there. I made sure. But the link tree is on my Instagram,
- 1:08:03on my Twitter all over the place, so you can follow there.
- 1:08:08If you see me on you know the socials, you can go follow.
- 1:08:12And it's been a long time coming. Man. I've been to DJ for
- 1:08:15longer than I can remember now, and I've always been the one who would
- 1:08:19tell other producers, you know, yo, go sample this, yo,
- 1:08:23like my man Dairy, my man DJ Analyze, my man Harry Hotter,
- 1:08:26those my brothers, and we've made tracks together, we've done projects together.
- 1:08:30But it wasn't until about last July that I was just basically going fucking nuts
- 1:08:34because all I do is weddings right now, and it pays well, but
- 1:08:40creatively, it's just not what I got into DJing for. And so I
- 1:08:43was just throwing nuts doing these weddings, and I'll say, I gotta do
- 1:08:45something to get out of here. And I know the club scene's so you
- 1:08:49know, prammed with DJs, and even the producers scene is pram with producers
- 1:08:55and shit. But it was just something I just needed to be a creative,
- 1:08:58just to feel creative, just some. So I downloaded Serrado Studio,
- 1:09:01which is a it's like pretty free. You can get it for free and
- 1:09:05there's like a trial version and then you can pay for a subscription. It's
- 1:09:10pretty cheap, but you can get for those asking. I'm actually thinking about
- 1:09:13doing a video about this, because you can get free. They're called dolls,
- 1:09:16a digital audio workstation station, yeah, and so you can get them
- 1:09:19for free if you want their free versions whatever. So I just download the
- 1:09:24studio started watching YouTube videos and I always loved house and I knew that I
- 1:09:29wanted to make house music because I knew that was like what I really want
- 1:09:31to get DJ into. And if you want to be a great house DJ,
- 1:09:34you got to produce your own track. So I was like, f
- 1:09:38that, I gotta make my own stuff, and I started making joints.
- 1:09:41And the first round I made was this Kanye yet West remix of his I
- 1:09:45Wonder that I'm gonna put out later because that's fire too, but I made
- 1:09:48that shit. I'll say, you know, I got something here, and
- 1:09:50I let people hear, like my boy Young Guru and some other cats,
- 1:09:53and they're like, you got something here, But that was last your live.
- 1:09:57No, I was going to say, I'm just you mentioning like all
- 1:09:59the release sources like that ass audacity could be used as ad all so like
- 1:10:04and been free since like the dawn of time, so like we still use
- 1:10:09that shit, so definitely. Yeah. So yeah, I just started and
- 1:10:13then I just kept making joints, you know, since last YR live.
- 1:10:15Just always just working pretty much every day as much as I could. I
- 1:10:19just worked on joints, worked on joints, worked on joints, and just
- 1:10:25tried to get better, listen to other stuff, you know, just trying
- 1:10:28to learn about music production. My ears have changed so much has changed over
- 1:10:32this year. It's been really interested in the process. Of doing it.
- 1:10:35And while one reason I wanted to talk about that is because on the show
- 1:10:39we always talk about like following your dreams and stuff, and I just want
- 1:10:43to tell people that you're never too old, You're never too whatever to do
- 1:10:46anything, man, because I'm you know, I never say how old I
- 1:10:49am, but I'm a grown ass man. And when I started doing this,
- 1:10:53I know there's a million other producers. I know there's a million other
- 1:10:55DJs, But just like with anything, I just really don't give a fuck,
- 1:10:59you know, Like, yeah, I'm just like, Yo, I'm
- 1:11:00gonna be me. I'm gonna put my unique sound out into the world,
- 1:11:04and whatever happens with that happens, and I'm just gonna be happy because one,
- 1:11:09I've been so happy making this music, Like it's been really interesting to
- 1:11:13let other people hear it, but it's just been so dope for me.
- 1:11:15Like I've been like, Yo, this shit is fied, like getting better.
- 1:11:18When I hear a track that I did, like the Kanye West track,
- 1:11:21I loved it when I first heard it, but a year later,
- 1:11:24I've been having to rework it because it's like, oh no, that was
- 1:11:26so basic things because your change, Yeah, your experience change and everything,
- 1:11:30like your skill set has changed too, yep. So it's just been really
- 1:11:33interesting in this journey and it's been like, Yo, this is really dope
- 1:11:36for me because it's like I've just learned that once again. You know,
- 1:11:41you're never too old and you can always learn new things and you can always
- 1:11:45get better things. It's just like a couple of years ago for my birthday,
- 1:11:48you got me a set of Warhammer paints and I hadn't painted in years,
- 1:11:53and then suddenly I'm buying up miniatures again and painting and I'm like,
- 1:11:56damn, I'm pretty good at this. So I've kept painting it kept getting
- 1:12:00better, watch YouTube videos, learn more techniques and experimenting and just fun with
- 1:12:05it. What's that what you should do? Cause you mentioned the Warhammer stuff,
- 1:12:10like if you ever do just sit there decide you want to paint one,
- 1:12:13like just go live on TikTok and just just have it. Just just
- 1:12:15you don't have to do nothing and then talk to nobody. Just have your
- 1:12:18camera facing you as you sit there and paint them and do that and people
- 1:12:21will sit there and watch that. Oh, I will definitely do that.
- 1:12:24That's something and I want to ask the chat, and I'm gonna do some
- 1:12:27videos on our Instagram and YouTube and on my YouTube. Also follow me on
- 1:12:32YouTube, follow me on Twitch, dj been, I mean on everything,
- 1:12:35pretty much follow me on all those things because I'm going to be putting a
- 1:12:39lot more videos out, a lot more music, a lot of things on
- 1:12:41all these different platforms, as well as on Fall Nerds. But that's something
- 1:12:45we always talk about. It's like, what do you want to see from
- 1:12:46us? Because I've tried doing the gaming. I really don't enjoy that.
- 1:12:50It just I don't want a game for hours like you need to do on
- 1:12:55the twitch stream. I'd rather be making beats. So eventually I will make
- 1:12:59beats on Twitch. I will definitely do some paintings on Twitch. But also
- 1:13:03with videos and things to that nature, I want to know, like,
- 1:13:05what do you want to hear us talk about. We already do these long
- 1:13:09form podcasts, but we wanna do more short form videos and stuff. So
- 1:13:13there's any topic that you want us to cover or talk about, please hit
- 1:13:16us up on socials. I'm gonna do a video so y'all can leave Tomas
- 1:13:19there. Yeah yeah, I mean, and then now that like like now
- 1:13:24everyone sees me. I'm out the negative verse, right, I'm not.
- 1:13:26I don't have the virtual screen behind me, like I have an actual space,
- 1:13:30a creative space, like I'm gonna be going into the things I really
- 1:13:32wanted to do. I'm gonna have. I'm doing music too. I've been
- 1:13:35trying to do music for fucking years. I've been trying to produce for years.
- 1:13:40I'm talking about like since high school and also been always dabbled with DJ,
- 1:13:44but never fucking commit it. And to do that. I have all
- 1:13:46the fucking tools, just never ever sat there and said, just fucking do
- 1:13:50it. And like what you said before about don't worry about that there's being
- 1:13:55a lot of there being a lot of other people doing the same thing,
- 1:13:57or whether you're good enough or not good whatever, none of that shit matters.
- 1:14:00Like it's this metaphor that I had said many years back that I keep
- 1:14:03bringing up, Like if you go to any block, any hood, there's
- 1:14:08a thousand laundromont matts, some across the street from each other, they all
- 1:14:13making money. It's the same fucking approach, right, Like you can be
- 1:14:16good, bad, whatever. Just I think it's the consistency and the fact
- 1:14:19that you're doing something that you love, like, I think that's what draws
- 1:14:23people's in, Like if you first of all, also think you need to
- 1:14:26be clear about who you're doing it for. If you're doing something for other
- 1:14:28people, you're never gonna be happy, like period, if you're doing it
- 1:14:31for you because you find that shit fun, whether you're good at it,
- 1:14:34whether you're bad at it, but it's just like makes you happy. Fine,
- 1:14:38and then when if it don't make you happy, don't fucking do it,
- 1:14:41but do something else, like always be doing right, Like I don't
- 1:14:45know, like I you know, I hate to like sound like an after
- 1:14:47school special. I'm just saying, but I'm just saying, I see don
- 1:14:54don magic wand punch Man says, I need tech recommendations. Those are coming
- 1:14:59too, getting back on my grand dashes of tech grind as well, you
- 1:15:02know, just doing like a well back in the day with four our nerds,
- 1:15:08we would do tech talk with Tatiana, right or I'm gonna start doing
- 1:15:12that like I want to do like every Tuesday, right, keep the literation
- 1:15:15going where like I'm gonna like tell y'all it's gonna be quick stuff too,
- 1:15:17Just tell y'all about some new shit that I have or how to do something
- 1:15:20or whatever, like now it's my time, and like like it's always been
- 1:15:25my time, but I feel like now it's expecially my time. And you
- 1:15:28know, especially because I'm in the mental space, I have the physical space,
- 1:15:31like I need to just do it, just fucking do it, do
- 1:15:34it live, right, So yeah, definitely, And that's how I've been
- 1:15:39feeling. Like I said, that's why I cleaned up this room so I
- 1:15:42could just feel focused in here, so I can feel like I got my
- 1:15:44bat drop right. I can do all kinds of videos, I can talk
- 1:15:46to y'all, do more things, make beats live, you know, paint
- 1:15:51live, whatever it is. Just do more things. And just like you
- 1:15:56said, it's our time. You just feel like it's time to rate capitalize
- 1:15:59on for all nerds movement and as well just everything we're doing. Like I
- 1:16:03know that over the next year, I'm gonna put out my plans put out
- 1:16:06a track at least once a month, first in a month, every month.
- 1:16:11So you got this first one coming on December first. I already got
- 1:16:14the next one. I got this Beyonce joint lined up for January first,
- 1:16:17and I might have to f and leak a little before there because it's so
- 1:16:20fucking incredible and I love it so much. I got this Rihanna joint for
- 1:16:25her birthday month in February, and I'm just gonna keep coming with it until,
- 1:16:30you know. Like I was watching Mason cam again and they're like,
- 1:16:32when they started their podcast, they didn't know what was gonna happen with it,
- 1:16:35and then they got a huge deal, but they were like, We're
- 1:16:38gonna keep doing it until it goes. And that's how I feel with this
- 1:16:41music stuff. I mean, that's how I've always been. I've been to
- 1:16:44DJ forever, but now I've started producing. I'm like, nah, I'm
- 1:16:46gonna take this until it popped. So yeah, I was gonna say it
- 1:16:50ship. I was gonna say a comment when you mentioned Mason Cameron. I'm
- 1:16:55like, but they're Mason Cameron. They could fucking play tabletop tennis and they
- 1:16:59pop. We get a deal off that, Yeah, but we're thank you.
- 1:17:02That's what I was going to sing. I was just like, but
- 1:17:04wait a minute, I'm me so yeah, and that we say that a
- 1:17:10lot well when especially I remember when we started the show and we'd always Comparasol
- 1:17:14the Stars and were like, but they're stars, and we got to stop
- 1:17:16saying that. Honestly, we have to be like but no, we are
- 1:17:18stars. And like you said, even though we might not be making a
- 1:17:23sandwich on the level of McDonald's, we're still making a good ass sandwich that
- 1:17:26people enjoy. So we got to keep selling these sandwiches to these people who
- 1:17:30enjoy these sandwiches. And fuck it, we might not be McDonald's, but
- 1:17:34we're still selling these different restaurant McDonald I understand, super mega corporate. Yeah,
- 1:17:41McDonald's, but damn. I mean, we might not be five guys,
- 1:17:44but five guys started off with one store, and right now we five
- 1:17:48guys with one store. So we start be one negro and it became five
- 1:17:53guys. He so we try to keep going. That man really give his
- 1:17:57five sons. You know the story, right, no? Oh shit,
- 1:18:00yeah, because I remember when they opened in d C. And that was
- 1:18:02like one of the early ones when they first started expanding. But the story
- 1:18:06is it was a father who told his sons, I can either give you
- 1:18:12college money I think it was, or we can start a restaurant. They
- 1:18:18was like college for college the rich dad. Listen, I will never say
- 1:18:26fuck college. I went to d Ulus. You is Howard University. Hu.
- 1:18:30I would also say, if you just go for a semester and drop
- 1:18:31out, you know words as well. I graduated, but I know a
- 1:18:35lot of people who did that as well. You know, like it's just
- 1:18:39the experience, folks. All you gotta do is be at out. That's
- 1:18:42what it's about, you know, hey, especially for you Broki's out there.
- 1:18:45Look, there's way That's what I'm telling y'all. Don't don't sleep,
- 1:18:48you know what I mean, Just get there, be absorbed. I don't
- 1:18:51shout out to my man d d J McGinn. And he went to another
- 1:18:55school. Something happened to him. He left that school. He moved to
- 1:18:59DC and he might have going to Howard, you know what I mean.
- 1:19:00He didn't go to Howard, but he's known like you went to Howard.
- 1:19:03So it's like just you know, be in the area. If you can
- 1:19:08absorber greatness, absorb it. Thank you. Sequina. Sequina seventy five said,
- 1:19:13you are not mass produced your exclusive great quality standwich. There it is
- 1:19:17there, it is, but we want more and more people to eat this
- 1:19:19sandwich. So you know, please tell people about falling earths. Tell your
- 1:19:23friends yeah, you know, especially with this music dropping your Please don't keep
- 1:19:28this shit to yourself, y'all, like, play this song for everyone,
- 1:19:30DJ Ben, I mean to let him know, be like, Yo,
- 1:19:32go to this man's band. Can't follow me dropping more tunes all that do
- 1:19:36not? I know people like that. You know, people are like,
- 1:19:39yo, this is mine. I only want me to hear it, you
- 1:19:42know, No, like, let everyone hear us. You know, everyone
- 1:19:45hear it. Tell people like word is the greatest way for us to spread.
- 1:19:51So please keep spreading the word about falling Nerd, spreading the word about
- 1:19:55me. I mean, I'm putting myself out there. That's it, don't
- 1:19:58I don't give a fuck. That's that's nothing like people always say that about
- 1:20:02us, that we're incredibly brave. I don't know about you, tip Down,
- 1:20:05but me, I just never like one I shout out to combat Jack,
- 1:20:09you know recipes two. I came from growing up talking to people face
- 1:20:14to face. I'm not an Internet person, so I've never given a funck
- 1:20:16about saying things like and also because of Combat Jack, you'd ask me that
- 1:20:20I'm on the area, what's up being you was locked up in Dubai talk
- 1:20:24about it? So I've never cared about these things. I've learned. You
- 1:20:27have to say these things, you know. This is what I've been through.
- 1:20:29I've been to therapy, I've been to Dubai, got locked up.
- 1:20:31I've been on top of the world, sitting in the you know, Ethiopian
- 1:20:34hotel, living like a fucking king, and then two days later I was
- 1:20:40in prison. You know, life is crazy, Yeah, life be life
- 1:20:44in no but yeah, go ahead, no, continue please. Yeah,
- 1:20:48I'm just saying I really don't care like about I'm gonna put things out,
- 1:20:53you know. I know it's to be people be like, oh this song
- 1:20:56sucks. Oh well, I had a great time making it. I really
- 1:21:00enjoy it. I know people are gonna love it, you know. So
- 1:21:01that's all. And I just want to put things out that make people feel
- 1:21:04good, makee people feel better about themselves, and make the world just,
- 1:21:09you know, a little better place with every little bit I can. I've
- 1:21:13been, honestly the opposite, and it's been and continues to be a journey
- 1:21:15to get to that place where it's just like I don't give a fuck.
- 1:21:18Now, I have lots of levels of I don't give a fuck, Like
- 1:21:20if somebody doing saying doing some wrong. Shit, I'm gonna say something and
- 1:21:25I'm gonna troll them and all this other stuff, real life, fake life
- 1:21:28online, offline, like I'm gonna do it because I'm right right, so,
- 1:21:31but when it comes to my personal stuff, there's still that fear.
- 1:21:34There's still that fear. And I don't know it's so much fear about people
- 1:21:38not liking it, but the fear of when I'm looking at it, I
- 1:21:40become hyper critical and I'm like, ah shit. It is a fear of
- 1:21:44success. I think that's when most people have more than anything. It's not
- 1:21:46the fear of failure. It's a fair of success that holds us back because
- 1:21:49we're scared of what our dreams will actually look like. And then you're and
- 1:21:56then you're scared of that work that will come with it, because like as
- 1:21:59Dallas pins, I will work that comes with it. Yeah. The only
- 1:22:01reward for a job but done is more jobs. So yeah. And also
- 1:22:05just growing up like my personality, I've always been an introvert, and it
- 1:22:10hadn't been until my adult years where I'm just like, I'm the extroverted introvert
- 1:22:14because I still would rather just be fucking at home and not talking to nobody.
- 1:22:16But I can like come on and do these things because we've had the
- 1:22:20time, We've had the energy, you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 1:22:23we've had the experience. So like this, don't phaze me. This this
- 1:22:26ship is nothing to me. I understand like talking to people, being online
- 1:22:29doing all this stuff like this is this is me. I am a child
- 1:22:31of the Internet, so I grew up with all this stuff, so you
- 1:22:35know, you know, I get it, like I get what you're saying,
- 1:22:38and you know, for me, it's been a little more different.
- 1:22:41Actually has been a struggle and continues to be, but it's something that I've
- 1:22:44actively grown out of. And so like like you said, like just sitting
- 1:22:47there, Like if I'm gonna be sitting there mixing that shit's gonna suck when
- 1:22:50I first start. But you know, so I'm scared to be live and
- 1:22:55fucking doing that shit and I'm probably gonna hide the chat so I can't see
- 1:22:58niggas like clowning me. But like just until I have to keep doing it
- 1:23:01right. You have to do that because you have to be able, like
- 1:23:05you know, you got to be at a I mean, that's seem like
- 1:23:08I said, again. That's why things like being online don't bother me.
- 1:23:12DJing right. One, I know what I'm doing. But two, I've
- 1:23:15come from a culture. I used to set up my turntables. I used
- 1:23:16to just spot DC and Coco Local. We used to come in there once
- 1:23:19again, me and my man Alma get It. We used to we were
- 1:23:21the third room open. There were three rooms. There's a technical room as
- 1:23:25salta room, and in the R room hip hop and reggae. So we
- 1:23:29you're the blacks, so we would be the last room and set up.
- 1:23:30So me and Amy getting will get there every week with our speakers and our
- 1:23:33turntables and set up speakers, set up to turntables, and there was like
- 1:23:38these cats, these dudes who would come in. I don't I don't know
- 1:23:41if it's the same cats every week, but every week there was a couple
- 1:23:45of dudes who would come in there and stand in front of there's a table
- 1:23:48we ain't got no booth, which is a table of turntables. And these
- 1:23:50cats would stand there in front of this hole and just watch really and not
- 1:23:56say a word. I mean, dead ass, just thrill us in the
- 1:23:59turntables and cause me and Imagetna were putting in fucking work in there. You
- 1:24:01know, we were doing some fucking magic. So people would watch because you
- 1:24:05know, we're working with Vinyl. You know, we're sitting here and it
- 1:24:09was Matt. We were some murderers. So like the pressure, you know,
- 1:24:14it's and it was nothing. I was like, okay, the niggas
- 1:24:15nerds. I knew where they were, you know, they were DJ nerds
- 1:24:18and they just wanted to get you know, and so they're just watching.
- 1:24:21But it's like, so DJing online is nothing to me. Doing this online
- 1:24:26is nothing because I used to people being here and as a DJ, that's
- 1:24:28I'm telling you, you try to start fucking doing it because you're gonna stink.
- 1:24:31I remember the first time I DJed to Howard, like I've been in
- 1:24:34Houston, a high school, et cetera. I dj at Howard, my
- 1:24:39man DJ trilling my brothers to this day. And I spent a few records
- 1:24:43and he was like, yo, Ben, you know how to blend.
- 1:24:45I was like, what's blending? I'm about to say that you didn't get
- 1:24:46booed because Howard was This was we were at the little barber shop. You
- 1:24:50know, it wasn't much happening. But literally Nigga was like, yo,
- 1:24:54you know, not a blend, And I was like, I didn't know
- 1:24:56what blending was. I used to drop every record on the one. I
- 1:24:59just you you know, I never I never knew any other DJs, so
- 1:25:01I was just dropp shit on the one. I didn't know what you know,
- 1:25:04a lot of it was. And I was doing high school party for
- 1:25:08you could get out away with a lot of bullshit. So and in Houston,
- 1:25:11where you know, it was like Houston high school, wasn't They didn't
- 1:25:14know any better. So I got away with it. And then so after
- 1:25:17that, I spent months in my room learning how to blit. And then
- 1:25:20even my man, another one of my friend's face on that's my dude to
- 1:25:24this day, he used to be like, yo, Ben, No,
- 1:25:25he told me just recently did about five six years ago. But he was
- 1:25:29like, Yo, Ben. When I to see your name of the party,
- 1:25:31I was just like, what the fuck? And now when I see
- 1:25:34your name on the party, I'm like, hell yeah, you know,
- 1:25:36but he was right back then, I was what the fuck. I was
- 1:25:40struggling, and then I had to work at it, but you know,
- 1:25:42I was doing it in front of people, so it was even worse.
- 1:25:45You know, I'd be a party. He wasn't booing me, but I'd
- 1:25:47have you know, struggle moments, and I wasn't getting it all right.
- 1:25:50And then I'd have good moments and you know, bad moments. I'm good
- 1:25:53and bad until I got it all together. But nowadays, you know online,
- 1:25:57But that's what I'm saying, you try to put you got to start,
- 1:25:59man, I'm telling that to everybody out there. Don't wait, Just
- 1:26:02fucking do it. Like people say that, you know, they make fun
- 1:26:09of what's the name Sheba for the do it? You know, but that
- 1:26:12shit is real, man, fucking do it. That shit is so real.
- 1:26:15It's like, just do it, because, like I said, I
- 1:26:17was coming from a place of just going crazy, where I'm like, I'm
- 1:26:21going to go crazy, and nothing of y'all saw it. I was doing
- 1:26:24the show everything. This was even before all this shit happened with my dad
- 1:26:28passing away. All this timer this year. I was doing well financially,
- 1:26:31everything's doing great. But I'm just like, yo, I'm going crazy.
- 1:26:34I cannot do this any more. I gotta do something. And then I
- 1:26:38made that first track. I remember, I went to bed that night,
- 1:26:40and I was like literally shaking because I said I did something I know.
- 1:26:44I'm like, oh shit, you know, I got something here. And
- 1:26:46then you know, looking back, I ain't have shit really, but it
- 1:26:49was just it was enough that I knew I had, you know, something,
- 1:26:54I knew that ear like I wasn't bullshitting myself. I was like,
- 1:26:57no, I can really do this, Like I know I'm a dope DJ,
- 1:27:00but I didn't know if I could made music like that or even put
- 1:27:01together music like that. No, I really can do that shit. And
- 1:27:05so then I just kept going and kept going and kept going, and you
- 1:27:09know, we'll see where it takets me. But it's just about going and
- 1:27:11doing so we ain't gonna stop. Yeah, well what does have to stop?
- 1:27:15As the stream we've been on. We appreciate you all, but we
- 1:27:18love you, but we got to go. I'm fucking hungry, to be
- 1:27:21honest with you. Yes, So not sure when this will be well,
- 1:27:26actually hopefully this will be dropping before will probably drop. We have another all
- 1:27:30star episode for those people. We did the all star episode with the Marvels.
- 1:27:34Oh I thought that was gonna be a surprise. That's not I mean,
- 1:27:38you know, people watching off right now. It might be editing.
- 1:27:41You know, this might be beeped out, who knows. But you know
- 1:27:44the Marvels episode with rods Prime, I mean Rodama's Prime, the black gay
- 1:27:48comic geek Lock it Down Ta Town and Myself is now Live. You can
- 1:27:55get that everywhere. Made sure you go check that shit out. It's pure
- 1:27:58comedy. I love the All Star episodes every time. This was a great
- 1:28:02group. Yes that's out there now. Uh, we'll be on semi vacation
- 1:28:09next week, but you know it'll still be getting some more content from us
- 1:28:12because it just don't stop shout out the combat back again and and then I
- 1:28:16know you how you feel about the word content and all that stuff. But
- 1:28:18let the people, let the fan fan say bontent. At least I will
- 1:28:24apologize, apologize person got on okay, but I think you need to apologize.
- 1:28:30I've seen you go in on somebody on Twitter. I'm like, damn,
- 1:28:32man, I don't think they deserve that. You ain't like, go
- 1:28:34in go can we stop? You reprimanded them and I was like, nah,
- 1:28:38then you ain't need to reprimand them. I know you're right. I
- 1:28:40know I'll apologize to you, right now and I will apologize again on Twitter.
- 1:28:45I've lost the battle. I accepted. I make content. Jesus Christ,
- 1:28:49this is what my life has become. Make sure y'all go into four
- 1:28:55Owners spent hours and days and weeks. It's just content. Hopefully our content

- 1:29:05that's you real quick. Caitlyn in the chat says, will there ever be
- 1:29:09another four on Nerds mixtape? I'm gonna edit that the qral Nerds listen,
- 1:29:14Ben, I'm that would be bet On mean well, actually not true.
- 1:29:16I used to actually do mix shit mixed mix quote mixtapes at at Howard so
- 1:29:21I could technically do it my damn self. I don't need bet On me.
- 1:29:26I mean, he don't want to do it. I'm gonna tell y'all
- 1:29:28right now, he don't want to do it. It's it's not that it's
- 1:29:30like doing those that one time I did do it. It was like finding
- 1:29:33those all that songs like that is That's the thing. Finding that dope hip
- 1:29:40hop nerdy mixed stuff is harder than you know, like actually doing the mix.
- 1:29:47It's finding the songs because it's someone whack ship and then and then if
- 1:29:54one more motherfucker sends me that Imperial March over the wedding thing, it's like
- 1:29:59John Christ, Okay, send me that joint. I will do this.
- 1:30:03I'm not promising y'all when is gonna come out, but I will commit to
- 1:30:06doing I guess this will technically be Volume two to do be doing Volume two
- 1:30:12or the four All Nerds mixtape. I don't even that together. It wasn't
- 1:30:15even a volume before. I barely make regular mixtapes. Man, I've been
- 1:30:18so focused on production, you know, Like that's saying I'm not like no,
- 1:30:23no, no offense. I'm just I'm really looking at like making music
- 1:30:26more than I am doing mixtapes right now. Yeah, Well, because I'm
- 1:30:30going on my musical journey, I don't mind. I have to do like
- 1:30:32I said, I gotta get back to basics for me. I got to
- 1:30:34a house mixtape though, bro. Oh yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:30:40I'm doing that because no shots. But like, I don't want to do
- 1:30:44the Fall Norse parties. I don't want to DJ, like I don't.
- 1:30:46I don't want to dj. Don't the name of the party me not talking
- 1:30:53about no no, because don't I don't know what they're playing. It like
- 1:30:57signing boombox right now, I see that's gonna say yeah no, because I
- 1:31:00like it's funny, like he has DJ's now and I'm like, y'all don't
- 1:31:02know none of these cats because I used to know my man too DJ there
- 1:31:05and I knew it he would play. But sometimes I go to the playing
- 1:31:09some wild ship. But then like when we go to Madfest, you know
- 1:31:12they're playing some dope shit. So but Madfest is different. I don't know
- 1:31:15what they're playing different. I don't know what, but I like house,
- 1:31:19Like that's my goal is to play big room, deep soul house. That
- 1:31:25is like my goal in life right now. So I'm really like laser focused
- 1:31:30on getting there and getting out a plane. Fucking Miley's hires and Brittany Smears.

- 1:34:31bad doing it on twitch, right, because it's just a smaller audience that's
- 1:34:34looking at my ship. Make sure y'all doing y'all following us everywhere. I
- 1:34:41want to stop hearing saying bad mixes because one like, even though you know,
- 1:34:47I recently heard of DJ what we call train wrecking. It when it's
- 1:34:55when you're blends don't go together and the ship sounds like a train wreck,
- 1:34:58or it sounds like somebody all say, somebody falling down the stairs. The
- 1:35:01drugs all start clashing, and so it's like, listen, I can't hear
- 1:35:05that when I'm thinking of ship. But the funny thing is it's so difficult
- 1:35:10to do that because the computer does so much for you and it's just putting
- 1:35:14numbers in visual. You can't even look at it. And I don't know
- 1:35:16computer do. I heard somebody doing the recent and I was like wow,
- 1:35:20And they were doing this in a club and people were still cheering them on.
- 1:35:27Because we live in a crazy world. So stop saying your mix of
- 1:35:32the bag. And this motherfucker was in club's train wrecking. I will never
- 1:35:38And I love Instagram and they're booked and busy and the ship bro, and
- 1:35:44that's that pooves our point. It don't matter how good you are. Just
- 1:35:46do it anyway. Just do it anyway. It doesn't matter. That's what
- 1:35:48I'm telling you. This person was train wrecking. I'm not. I literally
- 1:35:51did not know you could still do that, like I used to train.
- 1:35:55That's what my when my man's like, yo, you don't know how to
- 1:35:57blend. I was train wrecking. When you put the two records together and
- 1:36:00I blend him, you know, it sounds like I'm messing. I was
- 1:36:03trained record, but you know that was before digital. You know, it's
- 1:36:06like you got to actually do the ship with your ear. But I hate
- 1:36:09you for follow us the folks put the shit out there. Follow us for
- 1:36:14all nerds. Follow me at Tatiana King. He's at DJ ben Hamen.
- 1:36:18His last name is not Hamen, so all one word, it's just Benjamin
- 1:36:24Spanish, it's Benjamin phonetically Ben I mean. For those who didn't realize it,
- 1:36:28the funniest one is one of my best friends from Howard who's known we
- 1:36:30forever, thought I made the ship up like run DMC like ben Hamen was
- 1:36:35just like, you know, I don't know, So I don't know what
- 1:36:38he thought my real name was. I guess he knows my real name is
- 1:36:41Benjamin. And then he just thought I made up ben Hamen like I mean,
- 1:36:46I mean, I don't know. I just don't know where I would
- 1:36:48get that from, you know. But no, it's Benjamin and Spanish Benjamin,
- 1:36:53and I'm a heart Benjamin all around the world. Ben, I mean
- 1:36:56benjmen you know it's all the same thing. But yeah, Ben, I
- 1:37:00mean one word DJ. Ben, I mean paneticie H A M E E
- 1:37:03N. Musically, yes, yeah, we don't fuck with you. Musically,
- 1:37:09oh my god. Yeah. Friday at midnight, band Camp, sound
- 1:37:12Child, all those places I think I'm gonna charge two bucks. I wanted
- 1:37:14to give away for free, but then I feel like, no, you
- 1:37:16know, two bucks, right, it's two bucks, two dollars, two
- 1:37:19dollars, you know, get you a nice song, support me, you
- 1:37:24know. Yeah, only the first one to be free anyway, so fuck
- 1:37:27it. You know, we're starting off with this crap being two dollars,
- 1:37:29so I love it. We've made a lot of progress this and I actually
- 1:37:32do I ad meant, I like standing up because then I could be animated.
- 1:37:36Yeah, and I get all the energy out. But okay, fine,
- 1:37:40I'll stand up whatever. All right, Well, thank y'all for joining
- 1:37:45us, and we are out of here. Make sure y'all follows twitch dot
- 1:37:47tv slash for all nerds, Twitch dot tv slash DJ Ben I mean and
- 1:37:51Tatana will soon have her own Twitch channel as well. Bro the Man throws
- 1:38:00and eked to be copple and older than throws. Man throws
