'Death of the Republic': Top analyst fears GOP wipeout is only the beginning
What happened
AlterNet reports that University of Virginia political analyst Larry Sabato forecast major Republican losses in the November 3 midterms: Democrats winning at least 224 House seats and the Senate reaching at least a 50-50 split. His Crystal Ball rated Republican Rep. Jen Kiggans’ Virginia Beach seat as leaning Democratic and Rep. Rob Wittman’s race against Shannon Taylor as a toss-up. These are projections, not results.
Sabato’s larger fear was that electoral defeat would not settle the country’s political crisis. He said it was possible to trace how the republic could decline…
