- 0:28Speaker 2: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, Welcome back to the show
- 0:30Speaker 2: The RR Show. Today, I have got some bangers for
- 0:34Speaker 2: you from our slash Let's Not Meet, So grab yourself
- 0:38Speaker 2: some tea and popcorn and come with me as we
- 0:41Speaker 2: dive into our first story from Podiac trapped in a
- 0:48Speaker 2: room with his kids. When I twenty two female was
- 0:55Speaker 2: about fourteen years old, my family and I went to
- 0:58Speaker 2: a resort in Antahia, Turkey. The resort was relatively small
- 1:03Speaker 2: and every day there were plenty of activities that involved
- 1:06Speaker 2: all of the guests, pools, games, competitions, etc. The restaurant
- 1:11Speaker 2: was also cafeteria style, so everyone ate together. As a result,
- 1:16Speaker 2: basically everyone at the resort knew each other pretty well
- 1:20Speaker 2: and by name, and became pretty tight knit after a
- 1:24Speaker 2: few days. In particular, there was a middle aged, bold
- 1:28Speaker 2: British guy named Danny and his two little kids, who
- 1:32Speaker 2: were about two to four years old. Everyone at the
- 1:36Speaker 2: resort seemed to really love this family, as he was
- 1:38Speaker 2: a single father who was on vacation with his two
- 1:41Speaker 2: cute little children, so they became popular pretty quickly. At
- 1:46Speaker 2: one point, I was walking back up to my room
- 1:49Speaker 2: when I heard another guest at the hotel say my
- 1:51Speaker 2: name in the context of volunteering me to help Danny
- 1:55Speaker 2: with something. I went to see what was going on,
- 1:58Speaker 2: and the other guest told me that Danny needed help
- 2:01Speaker 2: taking his kids upstairs because they were badly sunburnt and
- 2:05Speaker 2: he couldn't carry them both at once. However, the other
- 2:08Speaker 2: guest was busy with something, so he suggested that I
- 2:11Speaker 2: should help Danny instead. I didn't really think anything of it,
- 2:15Speaker 2: so I picked up the little girl and walked with
- 2:17Speaker 2: Danny and his son towards the elevator. We eventually got
- 2:21Speaker 2: to his hotel room and I tried to drop the
- 2:23Speaker 2: girl off by the door, but he politely asked me
- 2:26Speaker 2: to drop her on the couch. Unfortunately, I was naive
- 2:31Speaker 2: and too trusting, so I thought it wouldn't be a
- 2:34Speaker 2: problem for me to just step in and drop her
- 2:37Speaker 2: off quickly before I go. Worst case scenario, I could
- 2:42Speaker 2: scream and people in the neighboring rooms or hallway would
- 2:44Speaker 2: hear me. So I stepped inside, and as I dropped
- 2:47Speaker 2: Danny's daughters off on the couch, he closed the door
- 2:49Speaker 2: and turned the lights off behind me. It was pitch
- 2:53Speaker 2: black because my eyes hadn't adjusted yet. When I heard
- 2:56Speaker 2: him leaning close to my ear and say, kids, say
- 3:00Speaker 2: hello to your new mummy, I instantly got goosebumps all
- 3:05Speaker 2: over and my heart dropped. Whenever I tell this story
- 3:09Speaker 2: to anyone, they always say that he was probably kidding,
- 3:12Speaker 2: But I can assure you one hundred percent that he
- 3:16Speaker 2: was not. I panicked and started feeling up the wall
- 3:20Speaker 2: for the light switch or the door, and he could
- 3:22Speaker 2: tell that I was trying to leave, so he said,
- 3:24Speaker 2: aren't you going to stay and watch some Telly with us?
- 3:27Speaker 2: But I had finally found a doorknob and just made
- 3:31Speaker 2: a run for it. I ran downstairs, crying and so afraid.
- 3:36Speaker 2: When I tried to tell my family, no one would
- 3:38Speaker 2: believe me that he was being serious or creepy, because
- 3:41Speaker 2: they'd all met him and thought of him as such
- 3:43Speaker 2: a sweet lovely single father. I didn't see him next
- 3:47Speaker 2: day or in the following days, so I think he
- 3:50Speaker 2: checked out after that creepy bold guy or just very
- 3:55Speaker 2: dry British human. I guess we'll never know. Our next
- 3:59Speaker 2: one is from the faceless writer The Dog in the Road.
- 4:07Speaker 2: This particular event happened almost a year ago. Sometime in
- 4:10Speaker 2: mid October, A couple friends and I drove out to
- 4:14Speaker 2: visit an old friend of ours from high school, George,
- 4:16Speaker 2: who now lived about an hour out of the city.
- 4:19Speaker 2: We spent the whole day with him, and it was
- 4:22Speaker 2: really late when he finally decided to start the drive
- 4:24Speaker 2: back home. My friend Lisa passed out in the passenger seat.
- 4:29Speaker 2: She had had a few drinks and decided to spend
- 4:31Speaker 2: the ride home asleep. My other friend Sam was sitting
- 4:34Speaker 2: in the back seat behind Lisa and playing a game
- 4:37Speaker 2: on her smartphone. I, of course, was driving. I was
- 4:41Speaker 2: following the GPS's instructions back to the freeway. At that moment,
- 4:46Speaker 2: we were driving down a dark street with thick trees
- 4:49Speaker 2: bordering both sides. Everything was pretty peaceful, with the only
- 4:53Speaker 2: sound I could hear being that of the car moving
- 4:55Speaker 2: along the road and the radio on low volume. Suddenly
- 4:59Speaker 2: my carl let out a jolt, and it felt as
- 5:02Speaker 2: if I'd hit something. Sam let out a shopped scream
- 5:05Speaker 2: while Lisa remained dead asleep. I slammed on the brakes
- 5:09Speaker 2: and the car came to a halt. I was breathing
- 5:13Speaker 2: heavily when I asked what the hell had just happened.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Sam peered through the bank window and gasped. She turned
- 5:19Speaker 2: to me with an angry look on her face and shouted,
- 5:22Speaker 2: I just hit a dog. I looked through the bank window,
- 5:26Speaker 2: and sure enough, a dog was lying in the road
- 5:28Speaker 2: a few yards behind the car. Sam's a pretty big
- 5:32Speaker 2: animal lover, so I wasn't surprised to see her get
- 5:35Speaker 2: pissed at me. She was about to open the door
- 5:37Speaker 2: and rush to the animal's aid when I stopped her.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Once I'd gotten over the shark of running over a dog,
- 5:42Speaker 2: I got a feeling in my gut that told me
- 5:44Speaker 2: that something was off. I'm no braggered, but I consider
- 5:49Speaker 2: myself to be a very attentive and safe driver. My
- 5:52Speaker 2: eyes were on the road all the time, and I
- 5:55Speaker 2: distinctly remember not seeing any dog in the road prior
- 5:59Speaker 2: to the car jolting. Yeah, it was dark, but I
- 6:03Speaker 2: was sure that I would have at least seen the
- 6:06Speaker 2: dog in the headlights before hitting it. I looked through
- 6:10Speaker 2: the bank window and took a closer look at the dog,
- 6:12Speaker 2: or at least as much as I could make out
- 6:14Speaker 2: in the reddish light coming from my tail lights. It
- 6:18Speaker 2: was a fairly big dog, at least a Golden Retriever
- 6:20Speaker 2: or something like that. One particular detail caught my attention.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I could see the dog's tail wagging. Now I'm no
- 6:28Speaker 2: expers on the mannerisms of animals, but I was sure
- 6:31Speaker 2: the last thing a dog would do after being hit
- 6:34Speaker 2: by a car was wag it's tail. After a moment
- 6:38Speaker 2: of thought, I pressed my foot down on the accelerator
- 6:41Speaker 2: and sped off. Sam snapped at me and ordered me
- 6:44Speaker 2: to go back, but I told her that something was
- 6:46Speaker 2: wrong with the whole situation. She continued to argue, but
- 6:50Speaker 2: she fell silent. As we turned back towards the back window,
- 6:54Speaker 2: she asked what the heck with a shaking voice. I
- 6:59Speaker 2: looked in the rear view mirror. No, it was dark,
- 7:02Speaker 2: I was able to make out the silhouettes of three
- 7:04Speaker 2: large figures emerging from the trees on the side of
- 7:07Speaker 2: the road. The dog was now up on its feet
- 7:10Speaker 2: and jumping around joyfully. The three figures looked in our
- 7:13Speaker 2: direction as I pressed my foot down on the gas
- 7:16Speaker 2: harder and sped off. Samurai remained silent for the rest
- 7:20Speaker 2: of the ride home. It wasn't until a few days
- 7:22Speaker 2: later that we told Lisa about it. We've been back
- 7:25Speaker 2: to visit George a few times since then, but we
- 7:28Speaker 2: always made sure to leave before sunset. Still, I dread
- 7:33Speaker 2: to think about what would have happened if we'd gotten
- 7:35Speaker 2: out of the car. Our next story is from DGR
- 7:39Speaker 2: ninety two. She just got into my car. This story
- 7:48Speaker 2: is by far not as crazy as the other story
- 7:50Speaker 2: is on here, but I think it fits. This happens
- 7:52Speaker 2: several years ago, I think, and nine something like that.
- 7:56Speaker 2: One summer evening, I hung out with girlfriend for the
- 7:59Speaker 2: day at her house. I ended up leaving about ten
- 8:02Speaker 2: to eleven ish, so it was quite dark out before
- 8:05Speaker 2: I drove off, though my girlfriend hung out with me
- 8:07Speaker 2: in the car for a few minutes. Now, the car
- 8:09Speaker 2: was an early nineties Dodge or Pontiaccidam. It did not
- 8:13Speaker 2: have automatic locks. When my girlfriend stepped out of the car,
- 8:17Speaker 2: she did not lock the door again. I drove off,
- 8:20Speaker 2: and instead of taking the back road home like I
- 8:22Speaker 2: usually did, I decided to take the main road. Since
- 8:26Speaker 2: it was late, there wasn't many cars out. However, there
- 8:29Speaker 2: was a lady standing next to a bus stop. She
- 8:32Speaker 2: was pacing around in a circle. I got the sense
- 8:35Speaker 2: that she was anxious and nervous about something. When she
- 8:39Speaker 2: saw my car, she flagged me down. I pulled over
- 8:42Speaker 2: and reached over to roll down the window. No automatic
- 8:45Speaker 2: windows either. That's when I noticed the door wasn't locked,
- 8:48Speaker 2: and before I could do anything, the lady opened up
- 8:51Speaker 2: the passenger door and took a seat. I was surprised,
- 8:56Speaker 2: but I didn't feel like the lady was a thread.
- 9:00Speaker 2: She was white, blonde hair, and probably in her late
- 9:03Speaker 2: thirties or early forties. I asked her if she's okay
- 9:06Speaker 2: or if she needs help. She tells me that she's
- 9:09Speaker 2: just trying to get home, but her phone died so
- 9:11Speaker 2: she couldn't get a hold of anyone. She also said
- 9:14Speaker 2: she missed the last bus. This sounded plausible to me,
- 9:18Speaker 2: and since she didn't seem threatening and was already in
- 9:21Speaker 2: my car, I offered to drive her home. I started
- 9:25Speaker 2: driving up to the main road and ask her for
- 9:26Speaker 2: directions to her place. We drove for maybe two minutes
- 9:30Speaker 2: when she told me to turn into a residential neighborhood.
- 9:33Speaker 2: As we're driving through, she starts talking to me non stop. Oh,
- 9:37Speaker 2: thank you so much for stopping. Not everyone is as
- 9:39Speaker 2: nice as you. You're real cute. You know that your
- 9:41Speaker 2: car's super awesome too, I replied with a week Uh yeah, thanks.
- 9:47Speaker 2: She went on, It's so nice to find someone who's
- 9:50Speaker 2: so trusting late at night. I like trusting people. At
- 9:52Speaker 2: this point, we came to a stop sign, so I
- 9:54Speaker 2: looked left and then right. When I turned to the right,
- 9:58Speaker 2: she gave me a creepy smile, like ear to ear
- 10:01Speaker 2: joker type smile. I also noticed for the first time
- 10:05Speaker 2: that her pupils were very dilated and darting around all
- 10:09Speaker 2: over the place. At this point, I finally started to
- 10:12Speaker 2: realize that picking up a strange woman late at nights
- 10:15Speaker 2: who may or may not be on drugs perhaps was
- 10:18Speaker 2: not the best of ideas. I started to think of
- 10:21Speaker 2: ways to get her out of the car, but I
- 10:23Speaker 2: also didn't want to be rude. I know, I know,
- 10:26Speaker 2: I was young and dumb. Before I could think of anything, though,
- 10:30Speaker 2: she asks me for my phone so she could give
- 10:32Speaker 2: her friend call and let them know that she was
- 10:33Speaker 2: coming home. I very sheepishly lied to her and said
- 10:37Speaker 2: I didn't have a phone. I was then struck with
- 10:40Speaker 2: a feeling of dread because my phone's ringer was set
- 10:43Speaker 2: aloud and any notification or message would reveal my lie,
- 10:47Speaker 2: just my luck. A moment later, someone texted me and
- 10:50Speaker 2: my phone went off. I thought you didn't have a phone.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I forgot that I had it. I thought
- 10:56Speaker 2: i'd left it at home. I don't appreciate being I too.
- 11:00Speaker 2: She trailed off as if she had more to say.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I started getting really nervous at this point. We were
- 11:06Speaker 2: deep in this neighborhood, but it was really dark. I
- 11:10Speaker 2: needed to get this lady out now. She then points
- 11:14Speaker 2: up the road and tells me to take a right
- 11:16Speaker 2: at the next stop sign. For whatever reason, the thought
- 11:20Speaker 2: of turning onto this dead end street terrified me. Right
- 11:24Speaker 2: before we got to the stop sign, I pulled over
- 11:26Speaker 2: and told the lady that my car was making a
- 11:28Speaker 2: funny noise and the temperature gauge was slowly going up.
- 11:31Speaker 2: I turned off my car and popped the trunk. I
- 11:33Speaker 2: told her I was grabbing a flashlight from the trunk
- 11:35Speaker 2: and if she could step out and hold the light
- 11:37Speaker 2: for me while I looked at the engine. I got
- 11:40Speaker 2: out of the car. I looked back at her, and
- 11:43Speaker 2: she looked both mad and annoyed at the same time,
- 11:45Speaker 2: but she also stepped out. I went to my trunk
- 11:49Speaker 2: and rummaged through the things I had there for a
- 11:51Speaker 2: few seconds. My flashlight was right in front of me,
- 11:54Speaker 2: but I needed to be sure that she was standing
- 11:56Speaker 2: in front of the car. When she was there, I
- 11:59Speaker 2: closed the trunk and started walking to the front of
- 12:01Speaker 2: the car with my flashlights. My heart was pounding, but
- 12:05Speaker 2: I knew I had to keep my voice steady. I
- 12:08Speaker 2: gave her the flashlight and then said something like oops,
- 12:11Speaker 2: I forgot to pop the hood. Let me go do
- 12:12Speaker 2: that real quick. I got back in my car and
- 12:15Speaker 2: I did pop the hood at the same time. Though
- 12:18Speaker 2: I turned the car back on and threw it into reverse,
- 12:21Speaker 2: the lady just stood there staring at me. Once I
- 12:24Speaker 2: had enough distance, I put the car back in drive
- 12:26Speaker 2: and drove straight past her. She was standing near a
- 12:30Speaker 2: street light, so I got one last good look at her.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I noticed she was holding a knife in our hands.
- 12:37Speaker 2: There was also a large man that stepped down to
- 12:39Speaker 2: the shadows and stood next to her. At first, I
- 12:42Speaker 2: thought she might be getting attacked, but then they walked
- 12:45Speaker 2: away together. I know that this was one hundred percent
- 12:48Speaker 2: my fault. It was stupid of me to let her
- 12:50Speaker 2: get in my car, and even stupider of me to
- 12:53Speaker 2: agree to drive her home. I don't know why she
- 12:55Speaker 2: didn't try to attack me earlier. I don't know if
- 12:57Speaker 2: they were looking to simply carjack me or do something else.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Despite fully accepting the blame, middle aged blonde lady, let's
- 13:05Speaker 2: not meet again. Well, guys, make sure you are following
- 13:18Speaker 2: the show so you get notified when our next episode
