When We’re Tired Of Waiting

Sometimes we just get tired of waiting,

even when we believe, “you give us our food in due season.” — from Psalm 145:15

We want the relationship now.

We want the respect and recognition now.

We want the money and the opportunities now.

In our impatience,

we are tempted to do things

that threaten tomorrow’s harvest.

Patience and perseverance are not passive.

They are often our greatest acts of faith,

especially when we’re tired.
