- 0:04Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode of Not Another Football Podcast with myself,
- 0:07Speaker 1: Simon Dawnley and.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Jackie mc namara and I delighted today.
- 0:11Speaker 1: We've had a band on before, but this is our
- 0:13Speaker 1: first musician, singer songwriter, Cammy Barnstad.
- 0:18Speaker 3: It covered from yesterday your festival.
- 0:20Speaker 4: And I'll be completely honest, I'm fighting for my life.
- 0:24Speaker 4: I don't do again. I was the Steam Rooms with
- 0:28Speaker 4: a better at nine times, two day thing just one,
- 0:37Speaker 4: but now I was. I was the first festival of
- 0:39Speaker 4: the year. It was a better like it was good.
- 0:42Speaker 1: It's good to see you and meet you in the
- 0:43Speaker 1: flash because every time I ope, not my Instagram.
- 0:45Speaker 3: I know you're popping up on it.
- 0:46Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I'm your new single obviously doing well.
- 0:52Speaker 4: I didn't really I were looking. We're hoping for a
- 0:55Speaker 4: first number one on Friday, so fingers crossed and good song.
- 1:00Speaker 4: It's catch. I've been sitting on that one for a while.
- 1:02Speaker 4: I kind of wish really stitching there because it's pretty good.
- 1:06Speaker 4: But it feels like summer vibe.
- 1:08Speaker 1: So yeah, they've got a few things come up as well.
- 1:10Speaker 1: We'll be transmit around the corner this year.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Either pulled it back for the foot, Yeah, that it's
- 1:18Speaker 4: on the same day as the first Scotlan's looking better
- 1:21Speaker 4: than me. They had to land it there and have
- 1:24Speaker 4: like the biggest like festival audience. I don't a festive audience.
- 1:27Speaker 4: He's ever watched the football game before, so.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Yeah, so wait, they won't show the first one, will
- 1:32Speaker 1: they be? Is there going to be screens on for that?
- 1:36Speaker 4: So soon a stretched dash golf comes off, they're showing
- 1:39Speaker 4: the fact well and I'm going back on and when
- 1:42Speaker 4: for Scotland before. Apparently though, they're getting a bit of
- 1:46Speaker 4: grief in Glasgow, but it all the neighbors are kicking half.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I think though there's a lot of because we're we're
- 1:50Speaker 1: around the corner, they're doing anything. It does. Those things
- 1:54Speaker 1: going on it bad as well. So the neighbors though
- 1:57Speaker 1: wanting they're.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Going to be struggling. I had a victim that sounds
- 2:02Speaker 4: you just don't get you.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Back on the play flour of Scotland before because I've
- 2:07Speaker 1: seen obviously bad pipes is a big thing and your
- 2:10Speaker 1: growing up, your dad played and did that start for you?
- 2:15Speaker 4: That's start teaching me? And I was like, it's one day.
- 2:17Speaker 4: I can't remember learning the pipes. It's mader but riding
- 2:20Speaker 4: a white My dad had me learning as soon as
- 2:22Speaker 4: I could walk, pretty much. And I wish I put
- 2:24Speaker 4: my songs before now thirty five, before I put them
- 2:27Speaker 4: before the songs I used playing chili pipers there. And
- 2:30Speaker 4: there's a few times you played pipes on like singers
- 2:35Speaker 4: tunes like from Walker and we played the pipes on that.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Any song pure flew after it, and somebody's had like
- 2:39Speaker 4: to me, and you know I played back books and
- 2:41Speaker 4: any of your songs actually follow that weird. It was
- 2:43Speaker 4: never I always played guitar, like when I'm on stage,
- 2:48Speaker 4: it covers my bellia to take a good guy the
- 2:51Speaker 4: guitar afro watch it. But as soon as we put
- 2:55Speaker 4: pipes and the song started doing really well, so da time.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Probably one of the most difficult looking instruments to.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Try, and a stupid answering. Honestly, if it's cold, deside
- 3:07Speaker 4: the hans flat. If it's too hot, it's sharp, like
- 3:10Speaker 4: the tuning just keeps changing all the time. You can't
- 3:12Speaker 4: control it. It just changes to the weather. That class,
- 3:17Speaker 4: when it's played right, it isn't.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Could either be throwing it around the corners for that
- 3:22Speaker 1: Definitely that you said you were playing with the Chili
- 3:26Speaker 1: papers actually thought about that.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Did you play?
- 3:29Speaker 1: We played in a tournament called the Staff Sixes right
- 3:31Speaker 1: at the Hydro and you guys were wrong, but you
- 3:34Speaker 1: involved with them.
- 3:34Speaker 4: At that I wasn't it? Yeah, I was. I think
- 3:37Speaker 4: I was still in the band, but we were in America.
- 3:39Speaker 4: The band pits like computing five bands a night possible.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Mental you cut on that account of the red spun
- 3:48Speaker 4: and then take it off and nobody knows who you
- 3:49Speaker 4: are that we played in a massive vessel, like thirty
- 3:51Speaker 4: thousand people in America. They're going crazy, go out and
- 3:54Speaker 4: then everybod's getting foy to take the count off and
- 3:55Speaker 4: walk right through them with no idea. Why there's Mental Milwaukee.
- 4:02Speaker 4: It's Milwaukee, Irish fistala.
- 4:05Speaker 1: What is your best kind of place? Used to have
- 4:07Speaker 1: played over them.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Insteads anywhere anyway, Barlance bars the best when in the
- 4:13Speaker 4: world that come up again. It will be my first
- 4:16Speaker 4: time headline and in September I got two nights.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Just because it's iconic. I think everybody says.
- 4:21Speaker 4: The sound as well. That sounds it's like you're playing
- 4:23Speaker 4: these venues, a lot of them, like you can't eve
- 4:25Speaker 4: really see people. But for some mad. Reason like Barlands
- 4:29Speaker 4: is massive, but it stiff, feels like you're in somebody's
- 4:30Speaker 4: living room. You can't you kind of describe it. And
- 4:33Speaker 4: when they're bouncing, like the whole they feels like the
- 4:35Speaker 4: whole bounce bouncing because I've got spring flair, so you
- 4:39Speaker 4: can feel like vie vinning right through. It's mad. It's
- 4:42Speaker 4: literally the maddest when in world.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Who's been the biggest influence on the music side.
- 4:49Speaker 4: To be honest, I asked this at the time. It's
- 4:52Speaker 4: quite hard. I grew up like Primal screaming all that
- 4:55Speaker 4: like that, so it's mental. Actually, the first time I
- 4:58Speaker 4: ever played the bar Us, I was in London during
- 5:02Speaker 4: the b G T Hang I done, but it's dark
- 5:04Speaker 4: and there was a day before my dishing and I
- 5:07Speaker 4: was getting like all the production stuff and getting singing
- 5:09Speaker 4: lesson and everything. I was an eagle home I'm playing
- 5:11Speaker 4: the battle Lands and night like, well, you can't leave,
- 5:13Speaker 4: and I was like, you got let me. I'm going home, right,
- 5:17Speaker 4: and like now we'll put you off the show. And
- 5:19Speaker 4: I was like right, I was left and it movent phone.
- 5:22Speaker 4: She was like right, okay, just like just if anybody
- 5:24Speaker 4: asks she were here, and I would just cover for you.
- 5:26Speaker 4: She was like, what is the bat Lands anyway? I
- 5:28Speaker 4: was likely my dream to play the bat Lands and
- 5:30Speaker 4: it's the best venue in the world. She was like, right, okay,
- 5:32Speaker 4: have fun. Right, And I got the plane and Bobby
- 5:34Speaker 4: Glessper was sitting next thing on the plane, so I
- 5:37Speaker 4: was starting at totally totally health time. On the plane,
- 5:39Speaker 4: I was like, I had to say so badly I'm
- 5:41Speaker 4: playing the Bars, but I had these headphones and sung this,
- 5:43Speaker 4: He's just didn't look at my answer. And then we
- 5:46Speaker 4: got After playing, I was I just stopped on the
- 5:49Speaker 4: shore and called on robot for some mad reason, thinking
- 5:52Speaker 4: with a robot, and I was I played the bar
- 5:58Speaker 4: Lands the night Man and he was like, he said,
- 5:59Speaker 4: I's got the best gig your life man, and I was.
- 6:02Speaker 4: I was like, I went, that was like the best.
- 6:06Speaker 4: So I finally headline two cas but.
- 6:08Speaker 5: It was good talent. You look in the Chemi was
- 6:11Speaker 5: experience like what you thought it was going to be.
- 6:18Speaker 4: I know, really, no, I didn't I do like shows
- 6:20Speaker 4: like that.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I think I coaxedn't it?
- 6:24Speaker 4: Ayes? I got scouted for so the contact gamed like
- 6:27Speaker 4: would you love would love to have you on the
- 6:28Speaker 4: show and stuff, and you didn't have to audition or
- 6:30Speaker 4: any You just come and you'll do your first one.
- 6:32Speaker 4: You get to go to Semi's like whatever. And I
- 6:35Speaker 4: always said that if I became my dad, and I
- 6:37Speaker 4: was like my last walk at the music industry, probably
- 6:40Speaker 4: used with like how near really add the football? So
- 6:45Speaker 4: I was and my weakir I was born. And then
- 6:47Speaker 4: three days later I was doing in the audition And
- 6:49Speaker 4: as soon as stood on that stage, I was like,
- 6:51Speaker 4: I said, what here? I was looking and I was like, yes,
- 6:54Speaker 4: it was Doug's one mon up, but it's side and
- 6:55Speaker 4: the guys making his Doug role. And I've tried all
- 7:00Speaker 4: my life to be a musician and I'm competing a
- 7:02Speaker 4: jar Russ juggle as well. I'm looking at this is
- 7:07Speaker 4: what was coming. It was. I'm sitting and absolute well
- 7:11Speaker 4: looking at my house. I see that. Sorry I didn't
- 7:17Speaker 4: meet it, but I didn't. I met some cool like
- 7:23Speaker 4: the vocal coach. I think the women that like gave
- 7:27Speaker 4: like gave you sing lessons around the editions, and that
- 7:30Speaker 4: she's like the best vocal coach in or so getting
- 7:32Speaker 4: a chance to absoutely learn for her. She was funnymental
- 7:35Speaker 4: like I learn. I learned a lot for her and
- 7:37Speaker 4: I still use a lot of stuff you talk me.
- 7:39Speaker 4: So for that alone, that was totally I went when
- 7:42Speaker 4: I got the room. But she's like the Ronaldo the
- 7:44Speaker 4: singing worl. Yeah that was good.
- 7:47Speaker 1: There was some positive.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Not the train Doug.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I know if I dug man, I got ship all
- 7:53Speaker 4: the winds.
- 7:53Speaker 1: After the semi obviously, yeah, I get it. It's maybe
- 7:59Speaker 1: just know exactly there.
- 8:00Speaker 4: I didn't. I'm pretty old score and at that point
- 8:03Speaker 4: I'd been gigging for ages as well, so I wasn't
- 8:06Speaker 4: like I was just like my first kind of time singing,
- 8:08Speaker 4: trying and audience. You'd think it was so shut the
- 8:10Speaker 4: bed like I was neverous, but because men never the case,
- 8:14Speaker 4: they pushed it was.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I suppose it's a bit different like X Factor, but
- 8:17Speaker 2: it's just music. Where is that?
- 8:21Speaker 4: Like I've been my dreams to be a musician all
- 8:22Speaker 4: my life and then one we absolutely nothing. They could
- 8:25Speaker 4: just lean forward and that's your music career over. And
- 8:29Speaker 4: I was like I was starting with a guitar I wanted.
- 8:32Speaker 4: They pressed that one and that's that and I was
- 8:34Speaker 4: then I just appeared got to me and I just
- 8:35Speaker 4: flopped there and people were missing with that. We've played
- 8:39Speaker 4: loads of venues. Why why did you flip on that?
- 8:41Speaker 4: I was like that and that was the reason it
- 8:46Speaker 4: was mad, and they for me ad day as well.
- 8:47Speaker 4: It's just mental. I arrived at like five o'clock in
- 8:49Speaker 4: the morning and Manchester at the moment I walked into
- 8:52Speaker 4: that build and they found me and they never picked
- 8:53Speaker 4: on until last night. So I was eleven o'clock at night,
- 8:55Speaker 4: but I'd been addie. I was just like cameras on
- 8:57Speaker 4: me all day. I was like, what is going on here?
- 9:01Speaker 4: But they kept asking They keep any of different rooms,
- 9:03Speaker 4: keep asking the same questions. A sob story to you?
- 9:05Speaker 4: I was, I'm really happy. I was going, I'm buddy,
- 9:11Speaker 4: forty your dollar and I was like, no, no, just boring,
- 9:14Speaker 4: like I just a sad story, honestly tagging how is
- 9:20Speaker 4: your childhood going on? And I was like, class, where
- 9:25Speaker 4: did your first second? I was like on a pool
- 9:27Speaker 4: table and they pubbed in the road from my house
- 9:28Speaker 4: and why were you on the pill tables? But what
- 9:30Speaker 4: a three beard? Put me up on it? Because how
- 9:33Speaker 4: do you feel about it? I'm like, I was fucking class.
- 9:36Speaker 4: But it was like that I was, but I was
- 9:38Speaker 4: just atense. You've got to be like b b B
- 9:41Speaker 4: B B.
- 9:41Speaker 2: B on No, no, don't. I should just made a
- 9:45Speaker 2: sad story up.
- 9:46Speaker 4: I should have again because somebody messaged me like I've
- 9:50Speaker 4: got three like a Doug do. I bought it for
- 9:51Speaker 4: a couple of weeks.
- 9:55Speaker 1: So but you been on to do?
- 9:58Speaker 3: I was reading in a Dragon right?
- 10:00Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 10:00Speaker 3: How did that come about?
- 10:02Speaker 4: The Chili Pipers for a while, just gett asked to
- 10:04Speaker 4: do movie. There was a boy that was in the
- 10:07Speaker 4: band called Londigo and he's just a machine writing soundtracks
- 10:13Speaker 4: and bagpipes. So like the band done brave Training of Dragon.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Don't feel like I went and done how Dragon one?
- 10:20Speaker 4: That was? I was a cool experience, like I was class.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Tell me on the the Polton No.
- 10:26Speaker 4: It was in the studio so it was like a
- 10:29Speaker 4: studio with an orchestra, and then they put the actual
- 10:31Speaker 4: movie on the screen so you're playing along watching the
- 10:33Speaker 4: actual h I was a cool experience. But I actually
- 10:38Speaker 4: love that. I can't wait to ma mye last year
- 10:40Speaker 4: enough to be total. That's my dad to tell I. Okay,
- 10:45Speaker 4: something you.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Would your future, you prefer the.
- 10:50Speaker 4: The money's right. I'm there metal. They pay me on
- 10:54Speaker 4: the money, albut play on your movie. But I'd loved it.
- 10:57Speaker 4: I'm home today, loads of things and you in the moment,
- 11:01Speaker 4: so well, what.
- 11:03Speaker 5: Bit of music yourself? What was your kind of you know,
- 11:06Speaker 5: was it country? What was your favorite?
- 11:08Speaker 2: And growing up?
- 11:10Speaker 4: I think country was the one that really changed it
- 11:12Speaker 4: for me. And I was actually doing like lockdown and
- 11:15Speaker 4: I started watching a program called Nashville and it was
- 11:18Speaker 4: like country. It was like east Enders with country music
- 11:20Speaker 4: in it. One it was like, I don't watch this
- 11:22Speaker 4: is the worst thing ever. I kind of switch off.
- 11:23Speaker 4: I just kept watching. And then I like laterally got
- 11:26Speaker 4: obsessed with country music and was so thin. It's the
- 11:29Speaker 4: fastest growing genre then as well. Absolutely I feel good.
- 11:33Speaker 4: I mean it's the best of both worlds. But for me,
- 11:36Speaker 4: like country is a big one, but I cover it
- 11:38Speaker 4: up as a folksinger. So like when I was at school,
- 11:40Speaker 4: like I went to a music school and a dean
- 11:43Speaker 4: and the teacher I was like, just teach all folks
- 11:46Speaker 4: songs and that, so like folk music, country music is
- 11:48Speaker 4: really really similars. Just the time the folk songs made
- 11:52Speaker 4: it over to America, Americans had electric guitars and made
- 11:55Speaker 4: it sound rock and roll, so it's it's telling stories. Yeah,
- 11:58Speaker 4: well but now I can't. He's the one up here.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I've never when I was younger than like in the country.
- 12:04Speaker 5: Actually I was a dancing lockdown after that, you see
- 12:08Speaker 5: Luke colmb's good.
- 12:11Speaker 4: All my fake profiles on Facebook will have pictures that
- 12:13Speaker 4: look home. I think, well, they get made in call center.
- 12:16Speaker 4: That's apparently like the main AI but apparently the ice
- 12:19Speaker 4: choosing every beard fake profile brilliant.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I's done the bad thing to be fair.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I look I like and compared to them, like I
- 12:29Speaker 4: want your hair.
- 12:29Speaker 5: Now, yeah you can't. I don't think ability to play
- 12:33Speaker 5: the black pipes either, No.
- 12:35Speaker 4: No, no, you play black pipes like many could. It's
- 12:42Speaker 4: hard incident that makes him good, that's issue. So when
- 12:45Speaker 4: people are learning it, it sounds that's just.
- 12:48Speaker 2: That quite hard growing up then and with the noise.
- 12:50Speaker 4: And again I kind of go brough up the house,
- 12:54Speaker 4: so it's like, I can't mind you really learning, but
- 12:58Speaker 4: I went actually weirdly. When I got my US tested recently,
- 13:00Speaker 4: my years are perfect and the doctor we couldn't believe it. Yeah,
- 13:05Speaker 4: so so my foot actually that allowed.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Noise.
- 13:12Speaker 1: So what else have you got? Lined up. Then after that,
- 13:14Speaker 1: obviously we get transmitted there then, but if I got
- 13:16Speaker 1: a busy schedule coming up, I noticed the barrel Lands
- 13:18Speaker 1: thing that we mentioned. Are you going on to about you?
- 13:21Speaker 4: So we're then we start an English tour in a
- 13:23Speaker 4: couple of weeks time. I sold it, but I'm hoping
- 13:26Speaker 4: to be a Germany to at the end of this
- 13:27Speaker 4: year to barrel Lands. We're now some more Scottish dates.
- 13:30Speaker 4: We're going to be doing Albadean, Dunfrees, Dundee and I
- 13:35Speaker 4: can't remember the last one. Trap a trap effer a
- 13:39Speaker 4: weird one. I don't know if it's meant to be amazing.
- 13:41Speaker 4: So doing that, and then in September announced my biggest
- 13:45Speaker 4: our headline show, which will be I'm not saying that
- 13:47Speaker 4: the biggest venue in Glasgow, That's what I'm allowed to say.
- 13:51Speaker 4: So you could figure out which at the Nightwood was
- 13:56Speaker 4: on my Bengal kids like, I don't think I'd ever
- 13:57Speaker 4: get the chance to play a venue of that, but
- 14:00Speaker 4: so I was happy with the Bartlands. That was my dream.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Bartlands is my my Hamda. So yeah, I'm buzzing about that.
- 14:09Speaker 4: You should come off definitely, this is what you got
- 14:12Speaker 4: then the just wag three tickets gigs. We really to
- 14:19Speaker 4: go like I'm on the podcast. That's funny.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Transmit me a better working transmit.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Transmit I know.
- 14:28Speaker 1: But right in the comma right on the doorstep there,
- 14:32Speaker 1: I think that will be lively in the spend that night.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Everything but the flow of the Scotland.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Ye see if I go in Glasgow and I actually
- 14:44Speaker 4: they leave these standard I actually love. It's a bit
- 14:47Speaker 4: of Barttlelands areas. A pub called the Gate, right, there's
- 14:50Speaker 4: the best cheese, best old fashion whiskeys ever nobody knows
- 14:55Speaker 4: the sais I was not sign you've been in it.
- 14:58Speaker 4: It's called the Gate, the g the yellow door. You
- 15:02Speaker 4: go in and you have like you have to wait
- 15:03Speaker 4: to get seat. This speakeasy like the Barlins, like every
- 15:06Speaker 4: pub is like ram do you go on there? It's
- 15:07Speaker 4: just like it's unbelievable.
- 15:12Speaker 1: There's something on it bad where it's looks transmit. That's
- 15:17Speaker 1: a first night of Transmitter.
- 15:20Speaker 4: A couple of sees it. Some looks that good.
- 15:25Speaker 2: In Scotland.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Scotland game that's scott made you win that first game
- 15:29Speaker 1: hated we were talking before. It's one of the ones
- 15:33Speaker 1: where it's a potential banana skin on it.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Right, we have for getting Scottish Engle will beat all
- 15:40Speaker 4: the hard teams and then be thankful.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I think we need to take something for the first game. Surely,
- 15:49Speaker 1: surely I agree.
- 15:51Speaker 5: I think we're always better when we're underdogs the best. Yeah,
- 15:56Speaker 5: you know, no dig is a chance we stand up.
- 15:58Speaker 5: But when you're fur favorites Disneys Sydney said, well, I
- 16:03Speaker 5: worry about that game the most, the first one.
- 16:05Speaker 3: I hate the game.
- 16:06Speaker 4: I know there.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I think you've got it.
- 16:09Speaker 1: It's my Rocor decent Rocor, decent Brazil and what they
- 16:12Speaker 1: used to be able to still still strong.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Manager will Pump Brat, I can hung a bit well
- 16:18Speaker 4: and I know for a fact Will Pump Brazil and
- 16:20Speaker 4: then I'll get Pump be here.
- 16:24Speaker 3: That one.

- 16:51Speaker 1: At Celtic Supporters Festival from June the fourth to the seventh, myself, Jackie.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Who else, Peter Grant, Joe Miller, Alan Thompson, Tommy Johnson.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Yeah, the link is in a description back to the
- 17:08Speaker 2: episode said.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Yeah, and I'll be there by Scotland tap on pretend
- 17:11Speaker 4: I can ever ring about football. Try to point a
- 17:13Speaker 4: song like this is my single for the Scotland like
- 17:15Speaker 4: every musician I know the news like pushing the Scotland song.
- 17:18Speaker 4: I've never seen them live support fat Ball and then
- 17:20Speaker 4: their lives there on the band winding. We've know, like
- 17:26Speaker 4: we've everybody's like when he put in a Scotland song
- 17:28Speaker 4: and everything, and we've deliberately not done it because if
- 17:30Speaker 4: anybody asked me about Fatball and it's got total no idea,
- 17:34Speaker 4: I want to said that I watch it. It's a
- 17:36Speaker 4: big game, like Scotland game. I love it, but they
- 17:38Speaker 4: can many plays. Yeah, and it's terrible, but I loved
- 17:41Speaker 4: it when I was younger, But I just kind of
- 17:43Speaker 4: lost touch to visiting Giggs like ice Oky, he's been
- 17:47Speaker 4: an ice hockey before.
- 17:48Speaker 2: My boy likes ice Smokey kind of it's the best one.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Like my boy watches He's been a couple of the
- 17:54Speaker 1: games in Scotland as well.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Even if you didn't understand it, they go and see it.
- 17:58Speaker 4: It's phenomenally, it's so faster. He's Glasgow best Glasgow Plan
- 18:03Speaker 4: on your Prora event was very headdad us a wish
- 18:08Speaker 4: you played ice? Okays fat like absolutely wrapped and a
- 18:20Speaker 4: hundred detective gear. Yeah, that's a tough support.
- 18:26Speaker 1: There's no something I've get into. But Max likes Max,
- 18:28Speaker 1: which is a bit of he's been, he's been with
- 18:32Speaker 1: the team be in Glasgow, Glasgow Plan, Glasgow clan.
- 18:36Speaker 4: I think he went good.
- 18:37Speaker 5: Which your team normally that's five five flyers. Don't know
- 18:42Speaker 5: Stephen Thompson in there recently.
- 18:46Speaker 4: It looks up Stephen Thompson something Actually the fatall guys
- 18:50Speaker 4: to go over. That's exactly the team's doing. Absolutely, it's
- 18:57Speaker 4: really bad. That team's got sink this year. Probably in
- 19:01Speaker 4: trouble for saying that.
- 19:01Speaker 3: A little many teams is it? Is it a big thing?
- 19:04Speaker 3: Scotland is.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Like England, Scotland, Belfast British League especially but I saw
- 19:12Speaker 4: pretty much American candidate and Canaden hanging out. American and Canada.
- 19:21Speaker 4: But they need to come over and play golf and
- 19:23Speaker 4: the play ice hockey twice a week, living their.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Best like Murrayfield played a lot of money Field.
- 19:26Speaker 4: I said, I still do. But if you got a
- 19:30Speaker 4: chance to go see I like this, I'm trying to
- 19:32Speaker 4: we'll make a hanger out us getting us getting ice okay,
- 19:34Speaker 4: and I'll get in a fable and then the next
- 19:36Speaker 4: time we meet you that we've've already we've committed to
- 19:40Speaker 4: a few things on this podcast.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we've We're running the London Marathon next year.
- 19:45Speaker 4: I wouldn't be doing that, Like, no, I really.
- 19:47Speaker 3: I don't think we were may be doing it, but.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Now we're going to okay, And I was going to
- 19:53Speaker 1: be what else are we doing in this podcast?
- 19:55Speaker 2: Yeah? Five A sides with the guy.
- 19:59Speaker 5: He played last year, right and get beating five aside
- 20:03Speaker 5: for the guy for Justin for the darkness.
- 20:05Speaker 4: He's unbelievable big word he was playing as well.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a back up, but still getting back.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Asked question many I've been asked to go on day?
- 20:21Speaker 4: I thought, I went, I've been done three and the
- 20:23Speaker 4: first one and I borroied football bits for the guy
- 20:25Speaker 4: oning it right and I shut, you're right. When I
- 20:27Speaker 4: got him, I was walking, I was like my fear,
- 20:28Speaker 4: calume something happening here, and I was like, it must
- 20:32Speaker 4: be because there's no real grass nymore. And then I left
- 20:35Speaker 4: him my foot up. You've never heard anything last in
- 20:36Speaker 4: your life. I looked and see where the studs were,
- 20:39Speaker 4: had bruises on my feet for the studs. Studs were
- 20:41Speaker 4: coming up the cout for the thing, and I was
- 20:45Speaker 4: I went off two minutes after calm and I can't
- 20:47Speaker 4: latly be onf for two minutes. And I was like,
- 20:49Speaker 4: I was sitting at the side and I buy like
- 20:51Speaker 4: Pere Love of my Life by Triboo for the first time. Unbelievable.
- 20:56Speaker 4: But they charged fat Did you ask to play that?
- 21:00Speaker 4: That one? I have never done that? If the starting
- 21:03Speaker 4: my feet looking what for?
- 21:05Speaker 1: Wrong ice skates?
- 21:09Speaker 4: And then I've done one w Nathan Evans and as
- 21:13Speaker 4: soon as he got the borders one slight tarckled on
- 21:15Speaker 4: to complaining he was a cami really, and I was like,
- 21:17Speaker 4: I don't nask me off. It was straight up. That
- 21:19Speaker 4: was brot. But I think the last thing, the last
- 21:24Speaker 4: one done was in peter Head and I went and
- 21:28Speaker 4: got the forty and everything and then I was freezing.
- 21:29Speaker 4: I was went back straight back and put my place
- 21:31Speaker 4: back on I know we played, I started the side
- 21:34Speaker 4: and supported. I really run we have.
- 21:37Speaker 1: We have now committed to London marath thunder Math and
- 21:40Speaker 1: I can't see as good hockey.
- 21:43Speaker 2: It was only Celtic win the league door. No, I'm
- 21:46Speaker 2: sure we're shocking that wad win the LEA. I don't know.
- 21:49Speaker 4: It's hard to he's not playing on feeling.
- 21:52Speaker 1: That's the cup, the cup final. It's hard to predict
- 21:56Speaker 1: this year. Celtic are so up and down. We spoke
- 22:00Speaker 1: about it before. On normally games like the weekend when
- 22:04Speaker 1: you score on going and get three or four goals.
- 22:06Speaker 1: It's been one of those seasons.
- 22:09Speaker 4: So choose a team to support. We would use who
- 22:11Speaker 4: would use?
- 22:12Speaker 3: Tell me for yourself.
- 22:15Speaker 4: He's Fife, will be Campbell. I love him. My uncle
- 22:22Speaker 4: used to be the chairman and when my uncle retired
- 22:24Speaker 4: that they get hospitality, so we'll be back.
- 22:30Speaker 1: You know.
- 22:30Speaker 4: That was manager one of my best puts players for
- 22:33Speaker 4: his wife Flash Nan Nathan e Nathan Sniff, Boston Sker.
- 22:42Speaker 4: It's gone fash but thanks a good guys. The character
- 22:49Speaker 4: see when it comes in, does the speech he's not
- 22:51Speaker 4: and the defins that's he's helping and what away just chuckling, laughing,
- 22:59Speaker 4: So that would be in your doorstep and all literally
- 23:02Speaker 4: I opened it. I was the first person. I was
- 23:03Speaker 4: standing the grass, one of the guys that put the rest.
- 23:06Speaker 4: I was a wee boy just playing the pipes in
- 23:08Speaker 4: the middle. Pipes were bigger than me. So Celtics the
- 23:10Speaker 4: team I should support.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Just be your agreeing white hat.
- 23:13Speaker 4: I'm thinking see you honestly right. Somebody said to me once,
- 23:17Speaker 4: like what one would you wear? And I'd said the
- 23:19Speaker 4: Celtic one, purely in the sense that Blue Classes with
- 23:21Speaker 4: Ginger was about that man. I would class that is
- 23:26Speaker 4: to be our songs as well.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I think you're you're the you know what? It closed
- 23:31Speaker 2: half your audience. So if you pick the you better
- 23:34Speaker 2: being than neutral.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Audience just loves stories in that one even parlor with
- 23:41Speaker 4: Scotty Afield and he's start to get me to go
- 23:43Speaker 4: to Rainest games. But I've never been. I've never been
- 23:45Speaker 4: a ranger. He's scotted and it's funny. He loves music, obsessed.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Him on playing his guitar.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and he sends me songs of the time. Record
- 23:58Speaker 4: this my record. This. It's funny, isn't it. I actually
- 24:03Speaker 4: spent New Year at scott Is. A couple of year ago.
- 24:06Speaker 4: I was sentting talking to this guy all night and
- 24:08Speaker 4: I was like, because like Scotty comes to my gig
- 24:10Speaker 4: sometimes he's misses and the boy he was like, I'd
- 24:12Speaker 4: love to come here the gug man. I was like, well,
- 24:13Speaker 4: you know, comies. I don't think I really could. And
- 24:15Speaker 4: I was like and then later on in the night
- 24:17Speaker 4: he was like, boy was singing my songs. Like guy
- 24:19Speaker 4: was sound as any? I was. I was it the enemy.
- 24:21Speaker 4: He was like, what do you mean? I was like,
- 24:25Speaker 4: what I'm just nasking was like singing and night you
- 24:27Speaker 4: brayer Because I played I played fastball and I was
- 24:29Speaker 4: a class man. Who did you play fun? He was like, hey,
- 24:32Speaker 4: you kind of start right now. No, no, no, Steve
- 24:34Speaker 4: Davis is Steve Davies is I put I used to
- 24:38Speaker 4: be managing the Rangers, and I said class He was like,
- 24:41Speaker 4: you fucking for real me all night honestly, but gott
- 24:47Speaker 4: brollant with the guy and Scotty was like, you can't
- 24:50Speaker 4: make my get out my house right now. I'm so sorry.
- 24:53Speaker 4: I didn't. The idn't the kind of I felt wrong,
- 24:55Speaker 4: but I sounded as any. But he's like, no, I
- 24:58Speaker 4: probably couldn't come and stand the crowd, and I was, no,
- 25:00Speaker 4: I get it.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Depending where it is.
- 25:05Speaker 4: Scotty does it though. He just goes to the gigs
- 25:06Speaker 4: and he loves it. He packed me in a crowd
- 25:10Speaker 4: of total panic. That's sport fighting about it.
- 25:15Speaker 1: I love that he's opened the bar and he's opened.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Joray helped me up to playing it already. We're doing
- 25:22Speaker 4: a festival bell Houston this year and he's like, listen, man,
- 25:25Speaker 4: you come in, have a pint, sing a song and
- 25:27Speaker 4: I'll get you a car up to the festival and
- 25:29Speaker 4: we will go there get I was like, so you
- 25:31Speaker 4: want tickets to the festivals? I said. I was like, wait,
- 25:39Speaker 4: why am I going to football podcast? I can but
- 25:41Speaker 4: one like the guy's a classman. Just going ians a
- 25:44Speaker 4: massive Celtics plab just makes sense. I know he's going
- 25:47Speaker 4: to message use for tickets.
- 25:48Speaker 1: So definitely we're coming into trans map.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Definitely buzzing for that one. Like they've got a fright.
- 25:58Speaker 4: When the phoned and said there's only who's on the
- 26:00Speaker 4: day that you're on, that's a dash Croft son m.
- 26:07Speaker 4: That's my tacon. I've seen Richard rash last class he's decent.
- 26:12Speaker 4: I went out and seeing Oasis, he was class.
- 26:17Speaker 1: When did you want to Tuesday was Tuesday.
- 26:21Speaker 4: I'll be honestly, I could have give or take it.
- 26:25Speaker 4: And then when I was there, I was like, oh,
- 26:26Speaker 4: this is the best thing I've ever wanted. I was unbelievable.
- 26:29Speaker 4: I've never had a stadium.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Sound amazing money that was.
- 26:33Speaker 4: I think it was the point I wouldn't never go back.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I think have played it perfectly.
- 26:36Speaker 3: The fact that they split up, they went their own ways.
- 26:39Speaker 4: I didn't actually beef run it the as for Sunday Dinner, I.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Just think they've played it brilliantly, even with the songs
- 26:47Speaker 1: that Hello, it's good to be back and at the
- 26:50Speaker 1: beginning and I christ, thank it's the best organized to
- 26:54Speaker 1: come back ever, perfectly.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Being done any better, perfectly really good.
- 27:01Speaker 1: As Cross was brilliant as well, just started playing batsweet
- 27:04Speaker 1: something and I was like, it was it was emotional.
- 27:06Speaker 4: That last time I've seen him was a teen park and
- 27:08Speaker 4: it was like it was it was it was the
- 27:12Speaker 4: second last one at Blados one and he walked in
- 27:14Speaker 4: and was like, does anyone feels to write a classic?
- 27:20Speaker 4: Then I was like, so when I seen that Mury
- 27:24Speaker 4: and I was like, that's a cool moment.
- 27:26Speaker 1: See when you're on those those types of gigs, then
- 27:29Speaker 1: there's so many artists, Yeah back stage, what what's that like?
- 27:33Speaker 1: You just zoned into your own thing or goes on what.
- 27:37Speaker 4: A lot of people think. It's like something like totmental class.
- 27:40Speaker 4: And I really know that everybody's get their own yesterday
- 27:43Speaker 4: with every everybody gets to their investment. Embody's got their
- 27:46Speaker 4: own riders and riders like what you request in your
- 27:50Speaker 4: room like a people just get being throat and sandwiches
- 27:53Speaker 4: and what the once pure mastriend, I'm getting that we
- 28:00Speaker 4: get the after tasting. Bobber was humming, I don't like it.
- 28:04Speaker 4: My my riders are incredible. Everybody gets so confused. But
- 28:08Speaker 4: like we'd always have like crazy beer and then I
- 28:10Speaker 4: would drink it. We'll bag you up before you go on.
- 28:12Speaker 4: And so I was like, can we swap out the beer?
- 28:14Speaker 4: We just get like five Guinnesses and then swap at
- 28:17Speaker 4: the beer and can I get two T shirts, a
- 28:19Speaker 4: packing boxers and socks. I was like, ask questions cheaper
- 28:26Speaker 4: than a creater beer. I had two the cheapest black
- 28:28Speaker 4: T shirts, cheapest packy boxers and the cheapest timely socks,
- 28:31Speaker 4: and it's to make it new. So many ones I've
- 28:33Speaker 4: done it and it's genius. And my theory is when
- 28:37Speaker 4: I turn up to so when I'm go into I'll
- 28:39Speaker 4: take like four pairs of jeans. And I turned up
- 28:42Speaker 4: to the first venue and there's a T shirt there
- 28:44Speaker 4: for me. So that's my T shirt. We're going on stage.
- 28:46Speaker 4: When it comes off, my T shirts ringing wet. I
- 28:48Speaker 4: just put it in the bin and it's getting every one.
- 28:50Speaker 4: And then there's my dry one for we're going to
- 28:51Speaker 4: come off. And when I say ben, it's like the
- 28:54Speaker 4: and so then there is wash it and don't get
- 28:57Speaker 4: trouble and it's fresh boxies, fresh sucks every day. And
- 28:59Speaker 4: it measing opening the T shirt. You sucuse when you
- 29:01Speaker 4: got the next.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Time method on that and you do that everywhere you go.
- 29:04Speaker 4: I've seen him into black T shirts and white that
- 29:08Speaker 4: we changed it white. This is the face. We changed
- 29:11Speaker 4: it to white, just purely because I have too many
- 29:14Speaker 4: black ones in my cupboard. So once I get too
- 29:15Speaker 4: many white ones, will change it to blue. I have
- 29:18Speaker 4: not got a T shirt for five years. The reason
- 29:21Speaker 4: my tactic that's cheaper. It's a cheaper than like like
- 29:24Speaker 4: three fat beer and was wasting everything. So I was
- 29:28Speaker 4: like just two premuch T shirts for one man. It's
- 29:31Speaker 4: then it's genius. That's good. So so you.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Don't get to you kind of keep yourself to yourself.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Then Transmit.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Transmit one is special like backstage of Transmits. Precle he's
- 29:42Speaker 4: been backstage.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I've been in the kind of vip bit to the
- 29:45Speaker 1: side of the stage, but I've never.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Seen it so backstage. But it's like the most festivals,
- 29:50Speaker 4: it's just like there's a cater in the area, see one,
- 29:52Speaker 4: and everybody could eat in the same bat and for
- 29:54Speaker 4: some people talking about a lot of people, it's kind
- 29:57Speaker 4: of weird. Other people did realize that if that somebody's
- 30:00Speaker 4: been turned for ages, it's not like a novelty for
- 30:03Speaker 4: us right now, we're this first time we ask experiencing
- 30:05Speaker 4: festivals and stuff. So it's like we're all buzzing a
- 30:08Speaker 4: lot of bigger acts and that that's the work at
- 30:11Speaker 4: the work. So the k you get cater in and
- 30:13Speaker 4: then everybody gets to the end room and then it's
- 30:15Speaker 4: pretty much it. But Transmits kind of special in the
- 30:18Speaker 4: sensor's the barbershop and Transmit you can go get a haircut.
- 30:21Speaker 4: There's like makeup bits well lastes and there's a when
- 30:25Speaker 4: fifty cent played the requested they had to have a gym,
- 30:28Speaker 4: so there's a gym backstage as well. Hey there's there's
- 30:32Speaker 4: a massage but as well Transmit and guitar guitar have
- 30:35Speaker 4: a guitar shop backstage triangle else is there's loads of
- 30:39Speaker 4: coh of Transmit transmits class like ping pong tables not
- 30:43Speaker 4: something I can think it So when we were the
- 30:46Speaker 4: last one was like playing ping pong way the boy
- 30:49Speaker 4: fe who was that again? Well one of the boys
- 30:54Speaker 4: in nineties serving five and playing ping pong one backstage
- 30:57Speaker 4: I was well bandy playing the nights of five ers
- 30:58Speaker 4: that I don't hold Transmit school. No, that's not it's
- 31:04Speaker 4: not that exciting to people come back to be a
- 31:06Speaker 4: buzzer with it.
- 31:07Speaker 1: And when you say as we although it depends which
- 31:09Speaker 1: stagey are that I mean, I like ash Croft, it's
- 31:13Speaker 1: just another it's another gill getting as usual on stage,
- 31:18Speaker 1: but bank stage, I suppose it's just.
- 31:20Speaker 4: I remember trying that like a festival and we would
- 31:22Speaker 4: need we had would walk into a room, would be
- 31:23Speaker 4: buzzing because I had a table and it's not hung
- 31:25Speaker 4: on the table. So now now we're walking in there
- 31:27Speaker 4: was like an absolute seafood plants hanging like there's pure
- 31:31Speaker 4: and I'm like, that's when you start realizing that people
- 31:33Speaker 4: quite like usn't it? The bioship when we come to
- 31:35Speaker 4: the festival, that is quite cool now, like and I
- 31:38Speaker 4: get I saw. I think it's holy rest of walking
- 31:40Speaker 4: those two teachers for me good smart as that it's
- 31:47Speaker 4: cheaper than my crab.
- 31:49Speaker 1: So where where else have you have you been in Europe?
- 31:51Speaker 3: And festivals?
- 31:52Speaker 4: Ve done Germany a fair bit, but all.
- 31:55Speaker 1: These places so obviously you were saying about the colts
- 31:58Speaker 1: and in different but the bike did they take to
- 32:00Speaker 1: all that? They can't the mad first.
- 32:02Speaker 4: One German's love black pace. It's mental, but they can
- 32:05Speaker 4: what they think. We dressed like you they want They
- 32:08Speaker 4: come and they all walk about them. It's like they
- 32:10Speaker 4: going by picnic blankets and the wrapping ruindows. Its like
- 32:13Speaker 4: tapping picnical blankets. One guy had a hoof as well,
- 32:16Speaker 4: and he was like, it's for drinking beer. I was like,
- 32:19Speaker 4: why do you why do you go that? And he's like,
- 32:20Speaker 4: will you do godge? People do that? We at the time,
- 32:25Speaker 4: big cheese mental the America, like America is one like
- 32:30Speaker 4: I'm most buzzing about because everybody meeting America is like
- 32:33Speaker 4: twelve percent Irish or Scottish. Yeah, I also wind them
- 32:37Speaker 4: up all the time like yeah, that's my twelve percent.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Scratch no, that's mad Dom twelve percent. And then like
- 32:43Speaker 4: really don't wind them up with but no, like people
- 32:47Speaker 4: in America love Scottis people and it's that's that's a
- 32:49Speaker 4: cool place to.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Tie that in with the Wall Cup.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Obviously you're playing that first one. I mean that was over.
- 32:55Speaker 1: There would have been amazing.
- 32:56Speaker 4: There's a lot of bands going over, but again I
- 32:57Speaker 4: feel that Frauda. They're all going out and like a
- 32:59Speaker 4: mart I'm like, I love Scotland on the Misscottish person
- 33:02Speaker 4: never meet, but I know I didn't watch Footbolls. I
- 33:05Speaker 4: feel like I'm here. I was trying to like sell
- 33:07Speaker 4: the football fans like like I'm here, I do like it.
- 33:11Speaker 4: I'd rather just sit back and make music and support
- 33:14Speaker 4: Scotland like as as a fan.
- 33:16Speaker 2: I supposed to be like any support if it's rugby
- 33:18Speaker 2: or she was still.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't play the rugby and all that, like,
- 33:21Speaker 4: but I follow the rugby, so it's no, we'll see
- 33:26Speaker 4: maybe maybe in a month's time you'll be looking at
- 33:28Speaker 4: them like Scotland so you'd like that.
- 33:32Speaker 3: He's over on Boston again.
- 33:34Speaker 4: How long you've been a Scotland I'm master funny football.
- 33:36Speaker 4: I love.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Played it hardy field and if you did the I've
- 33:41Speaker 1: done it recently.
- 33:42Speaker 4: We've done it for the last Seas team recently, but
- 33:45Speaker 4: I've done it. I go hold the record. We're playing
- 33:47Speaker 4: before the games seventeen times or something like that. Well
- 33:52Speaker 4: because of that, the Chili Pipers and I've done it
- 33:53Speaker 4: my first ever band, but flying then I've been done
- 33:56Speaker 4: that a few times myself. So that's a mad experience
- 33:59Speaker 4: that I walked it in the middle of the park.
- 34:01Speaker 4: I was like, it's a Englis Scotland, England and it
- 34:05Speaker 4: was seventy thousand and I was like, this is going
- 34:08Speaker 4: to be phenomenal. And it was just the weirdest thing.
- 34:10Speaker 4: I hear it silence the middle of a park and
- 34:13Speaker 4: everybody's around. It's like I was miss lone to hangover,
- 34:17Speaker 4: but you can't hear them. Just sounds like like waves
- 34:19Speaker 4: are strange, man, right, I don't like it. He didn't
- 34:22Speaker 4: enjoy that it was terrible. You walk half and usually
- 34:25Speaker 4: told did you like it? It's weird and as well
- 34:28Speaker 4: as see you take it in, hears it and just
- 34:30Speaker 4: goes who wa like of course, oll the speaker's just
- 34:32Speaker 4: a lot different. Fucking I can't explain what I mean, sorry,
- 34:36Speaker 4: Like standing in the middle of seventy thousand stadium with
- 34:39Speaker 4: seventy thousand people in it is quiet in the middle,
- 34:41Speaker 4: and that messes with your sense. It's like you can't
- 34:44Speaker 4: tell what he's a played f one. You don't find
- 34:46Speaker 4: it quiet. We'd quite in the middle of the park.
- 34:50Speaker 1: The classic is quiet.
- 34:53Speaker 5: I was slightly different, but I mean in certain games
- 34:58Speaker 5: actually hearing you away, I can't hear you.
- 35:00Speaker 4: Really, it's sixty thousand.
- 35:02Speaker 1: That Celtic parks, say the Celtic Rangels game you talk
- 35:06Speaker 1: about even the management try to get things.
- 35:08Speaker 3: It's very difficult.
- 35:11Speaker 4: It's weird. Like honestly I could walk out my guitarists
- 35:14Speaker 4: and just talk to him and that, but I've found
- 35:19Speaker 4: it weirdly silent, and.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Don't I suppose it's different because you're waiting for you
- 35:24Speaker 2: entertain thement.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Just total going after that A lot of time different
- 35:30Speaker 4: He's getting nervous before he's playing, and.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Now I used to when I was younger.
- 35:35Speaker 5: I suppose like you learn to channel it because you're
- 35:39Speaker 5: more the night before a game, yeah, you think about
- 35:42Speaker 5: it's probably you actually think about it right before you
- 35:45Speaker 5: don't sleep.
- 35:45Speaker 4: I like that I run over the full gag in
- 35:48Speaker 4: my head constantly before I go to my bed, like
- 35:51Speaker 4: I thank every word. I'm singing everything I'm going to
- 35:52Speaker 4: say between the songs, run over the full hang. Like
- 35:56Speaker 4: some recently I've started again, like people start bringing minds
- 36:00Speaker 4: the gigs. It's totally messing with me because I'm in
- 36:02Speaker 4: such a retenie what I say between songs I spot
- 36:05Speaker 4: I signed. I'm so dis like so just like and
- 36:08Speaker 4: I just lose my chain of thought constantly. So now
- 36:11Speaker 4: I'm like Stevie wondering STATIONE. And I was like, they
- 36:13Speaker 4: look at some of the worlds. But I think.
- 36:18Speaker 1: We were comfortable talking, for example, for a long time.
- 36:24Speaker 1: We'd probably be more nervous at that talk in front
- 36:26Speaker 1: of four I'd be addressing for because comfort zone on
- 36:29Speaker 1: a pitch, playing with football, that's what we grew up jobs.
- 36:33Speaker 1: When you get used to but when you go on
- 36:35Speaker 1: to stage, all that nervin Is that all dismissed you?
- 36:39Speaker 4: So I didn't get nervous on a stage anywhere. I
- 36:42Speaker 4: get never swoot people in me not doing a job
- 36:44Speaker 4: right for a hypothetical manage things that are out of
- 36:49Speaker 4: my control, which so I get never swoot like that
- 36:53Speaker 4: sort of stuff. But actually me performing that and anything
- 36:59Speaker 4: go ran. I know I can get my get out.
- 37:04Speaker 4: And somebody said to me once as well, quite nervous
- 37:06Speaker 4: before I was going on, like you have to change
- 37:08Speaker 4: and flip the mindset, like your your body reaction to
- 37:12Speaker 4: nerves is the same reaction to excitement, so like when
- 37:15Speaker 4: it's the same kind of like rushing, So just turn
- 37:18Speaker 4: your nerves and excitement and jump about and whatever. So
- 37:20Speaker 4: I get myself here hanged. It's weird, like when I
- 37:22Speaker 4: go on stage, I want to apeer character. It's like
- 37:24Speaker 4: it's mad. So I'm here, Like when I come off,
- 37:27Speaker 4: I can't I hear one on one conversation with something.
- 37:30Speaker 4: I can't let them an eye. It's awkward. I talk
- 37:33Speaker 4: to six thousand people one one. It's weird. But the switch.
- 37:39Speaker 2: When the game is finished, now you get back to
- 37:41Speaker 2: a normal Yeah, but it's.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Almost like a theater show for me and like to
- 37:45Speaker 4: the point I know timing wise pretty much what I'm
- 37:48Speaker 4: going to say between I don't exists a routine. I've
- 37:52Speaker 4: put it to a place where it's like I would
- 37:54Speaker 4: just make wee tweaks here and.
- 37:56Speaker 1: There, similar to Weade the band gallas On and the
- 38:00Speaker 1: weird singer just turned as soon as as soon as
- 38:03Speaker 1: you went Insteade Scott brown On as well and talks
- 38:07Speaker 1: about how he changes into this to.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Go and perform for the n minutes. It's a different character. Yeah,
- 38:12Speaker 3: it's obviously.
- 38:13Speaker 4: What about some of them, like to the BIC for
- 38:16Speaker 4: five flyers of meeting two the mist like religious guys,
- 38:18Speaker 4: I want to come a stead they had to come
- 38:19Speaker 4: of ice and like to like don't miss lovely. Two
- 38:23Speaker 4: minutes later the guy bursting his guy in nicely, don't
- 38:26Speaker 4: like see the only grunting everything as well? Was this
- 38:29Speaker 4: the same guy and I said to him, like, I
- 38:31Speaker 4: can't believe what you're like nice and what you're af
- 38:32Speaker 4: was like, you're so nice. I think he's like, that's
- 38:34Speaker 4: what we do, man, We've done it, okay, well being
- 38:36Speaker 4: cheer each other and the accent it's gonna be go.
- 38:41Speaker 4: But that's mad we world. Yeah, it's probably some of
- 38:46Speaker 4: them loads of wives.
- 38:47Speaker 1: But I think it's just what you're comfortable with. You're
- 38:50Speaker 1: comfortable with and then they cannot audience because away we
- 38:52Speaker 1: but you're just zoomed in on that out your comfort zone. Yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 1: that's when you overthink it.
- 38:58Speaker 4: Yeah, but what was the best stay? He's other player
- 39:00Speaker 4: and sorry this is your podcast? Why asking questions? But
- 39:05Speaker 4: I played there twice, right, I.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Visited that unfortunately never played I played. I like going
- 39:14Speaker 1: to Ibrooks to play. I like going there to play
- 39:18Speaker 1: against the rivals. It was always a good atmosphere. But
- 39:21Speaker 1: played against Paris and part of the Brans, right, that
- 39:24Speaker 1: was pretty special. Ninety five ninety six they had a
- 39:28Speaker 1: special team. They went on to win it that year
- 39:29Speaker 1: as well. I'd probably see that.
- 39:33Speaker 4: When I played track. What the school we went into.
- 39:36Speaker 4: We've got a track to go to Madrid and training
- 39:39Speaker 4: under twenty one like loads of schools like they played
- 39:42Speaker 4: in our what do you call it the school championships
- 39:44Speaker 4: or something, and mascot won it and we got to
- 39:46Speaker 4: go out there and I got to meet Beckham, which
- 39:48Speaker 4: is really this right, and the said, yeah that was
- 39:54Speaker 4: the way. There was a training gun with me, but
- 39:57Speaker 4: he signed my Preds. I just got on and I
- 39:59Speaker 4: was ready because I can't wear on for the like.
- 40:01Speaker 4: There's also a training for two weeks after that first
- 40:03Speaker 4: day as well, so I was like, really so the
- 40:05Speaker 4: pe sell them? Well, I guess better the peach. I
- 40:09Speaker 4: went and bought the plasters and just put the signature
- 40:12Speaker 4: and he's like, wead a bit so it doesn't come off.
- 40:14Speaker 4: And I was at the sound and after the first game.
- 40:17Speaker 4: After the first game, I was like, I took my
- 40:19Speaker 4: best half and the remember the bat bags or something
- 40:22Speaker 4: had one of them, wasn't My mom bought me bread threads.
- 40:24Speaker 4: I was class and a shoot you not right? I
- 40:28Speaker 4: pat I'm doing and I went to see my pow
- 40:30Speaker 4: and I came back. The press were gone and it
- 40:33Speaker 4: was like skals for Scotland. That's something I scaled stove
- 40:38Speaker 4: stole my breads. I got back and end and the
- 40:40Speaker 4: boy got excluded when he got apparently I stole my
- 40:44Speaker 4: Preds and I was like, glass read it's about ten
- 40:46Speaker 4: year left.
- 40:48Speaker 3: Right now, but something you then you.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Stolen.
- 40:53Speaker 5: I was just signing the Celtic right I was in
- 40:55Speaker 5: in the stadium. My dad's car get broken into while
- 40:58Speaker 5: I was in signing and I was making my debut
- 41:01Speaker 5: that night for Celtic Away Full Cut. I had to
- 41:05Speaker 5: borrow some of these books and shin guards.
- 41:10Speaker 4: Myself.
- 41:11Speaker 2: You know, I'm nervous enough my first game.
- 41:13Speaker 4: So those like banner bits like if when you a
- 41:16Speaker 4: pro level, do you just do the same bits of
- 41:17Speaker 4: the time, or a new perfer every game? It's different.
- 41:20Speaker 5: Now they get more kids, like new boots, where a
- 41:25Speaker 5: lot of them do I do? And I think persuitely
- 41:28Speaker 5: I would wear them till they were just more superstition
- 41:33Speaker 5: biting like that, you know, and then I suppose a
- 41:36Speaker 5: bit of an instrument.
- 41:38Speaker 4: You know, I get reading, but if my guitar, but
- 41:41Speaker 4: it just feels different.
- 41:44Speaker 2: So my books that I've been wearing to get the
- 41:47Speaker 2: Celtic a first game and then not wearing them, it
- 41:50Speaker 2: was like you.
- 41:51Speaker 4: Have to break books and that it's been changing them.
- 41:54Speaker 4: Ever again, I don't know.
- 41:56Speaker 1: That's why I'm saying a lot of them do nowadays.
- 41:59Speaker 4: I can ill peoplers the heat up their books.
- 42:04Speaker 5: I think with some of them in all that, like
- 42:06Speaker 5: obviously the top ten players, they have to wear certain books,
- 42:10Speaker 5: so they changed the new ones writing the ones they're
- 42:15Speaker 5: contracted to do it right, but I personally I didn't
- 42:20Speaker 5: change them and unless they.
- 42:21Speaker 4: Were cubbed read in your first game and the ones
- 42:24Speaker 4: you like.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Enough like you know you got them back.
- 42:30Speaker 3: It was ways and means he got them back a
- 42:32Speaker 3: couple of days later they came back, CAMMI.
- 42:37Speaker 1: So normally we have a recommendation, but we've recorded a
- 42:41Speaker 1: few of late podcasts with some different guests. But would
- 42:44Speaker 1: like to get a recommendation off your film, an album
- 42:49Speaker 1: and a song you can right if you want.
- 42:55Speaker 4: Right. So film, I'm going to told movie gekly, so
- 43:01Speaker 4: I need to make sure this better film I'm going
- 43:03Speaker 4: to say, but I'm going to say this one. Actually
- 43:05Speaker 4: watched this recently. The first time I like cried laughter
- 43:08Speaker 4: a long time. I fum called Why Him. You watch it.
- 43:11Speaker 4: It's got Brian Crankston and breaking bad. He's the dad
- 43:19Speaker 4: why first time in a while. He's so funny man.
- 43:25Speaker 4: So I'm gonna recommend if you want to laugh like
- 43:28Speaker 4: I was barely laughing as early when the moose fell out,
- 43:33Speaker 4: bagging you bro so good. That makes sense if you
- 43:39Speaker 4: watch your film.
- 43:39Speaker 3: I'm going to watch.
- 43:41Speaker 4: So I'm going to go with Why Him album, album,
- 43:44Speaker 4: I'm going to go with a band called King Fisher.
- 43:50Speaker 4: They're flying around and song I'm going to go with
- 43:56Speaker 4: who am I listening? I'm gonna go a young guy
- 44:05Speaker 4: called Ben Walker's his ap't coming for Scotland. He's got
- 44:08Speaker 4: a song called sixteen which is class. Go with that.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Yeah, excellent.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Well we wishow the best. We maybe see it trans
- 44:17Speaker 1: Matt will keep you to the keep the black tickets
- 44:22Speaker 1: for the big
- 44:23Speaker 3: Event next year.
