- 0:29Speaker 2: issues because when they retire or when they go ahead
- 0:32Speaker 2: and leave the profession because during the day, you cannot
- 0:35Speaker 2: leave your kids, So I p.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Who's watching the kids each other? That sounds perfect?
- 0:49Speaker 1: Like doesn't this sounded during everybody? Would you like to
- 0:52Speaker 1: work into an industry? Will it be underpaid? You have
- 0:58Speaker 1: to deal with other people's little ship for bans all
- 1:00Speaker 1: day and you will probably have bladder issues later in life,
- 1:05Speaker 1: leading to you wearing adult diapers.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Don't you want to? Don't you?
- 1:10Speaker 1: Don't you too want to be a teacher? We need
- 1:16Speaker 1: teachers wonderful Like, if I'm gonna have bladder issues, I'm
- 1:22Speaker 1: gonna need to be compensated for my bladder issues.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 1:28Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. It's been a while since we
- 1:32Speaker 1: talked about national call and health awareness.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Hey turn it off, Hey rister, Hey wallab what Rickster?
- 1:44Speaker 5: Friends?
- 1:49Speaker 4: But what's going on? Everybody?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode Jubular. I'm chopping away banana chips.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Banana chips are really good.
- 2:02Speaker 4: No, they're not. What do you like? Do you like not?
- 2:06Speaker 5: This is bill awesome adventure here.
- 2:09Speaker 4: I like lots of things.
- 2:11Speaker 1: No, I'm convinced you don't. I'm convinced you hate the world.
- 2:15Speaker 4: I don't like anything you like.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Fun joy?
- 2:21Speaker 4: Do you like beer? Do you like beer? Like? None
- 2:24Speaker 4: of those things? You walk?
- 2:27Speaker 1: I like your time, which is funny because I don't
- 2:35Speaker 1: really have a lot of love for like grape juice.
- 2:40Speaker 4: All right, well grape juice.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Yeah, my dad's a big grape juice fan. Like you
- 2:44Speaker 3: know the ones like back in the nineties where you'd
- 2:47Speaker 3: get it in the freezer section, like to concentrate.
- 2:51Speaker 1: What do you mean back in the night? They still
- 2:53Speaker 1: make that today, Like, that's not that has been away.
- 2:57Speaker 3: I have never attempted to buy this for myself.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I haven't either. It's like you used to be able
- 3:03Speaker 1: to go, but you used to go by orange juice
- 3:04Speaker 1: in the freezer section.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Two. Yeah, yeah, it sounds.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Like it is a KF. Sounds like it's a KFC endeavor.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Boys, I think we have a journey to go on.
- 3:15Speaker 1: But we have all the people here. You've heard everybody,
- 3:18Speaker 1: You've heard the dazz bars, guys, you've heard doctor m sheep. Yeah,
- 3:26Speaker 1: and you've heard the Ewok Junior.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Hello Keyboards community, glad to be here.
- 3:32Speaker 1: We've got tons to go over today. I don't know
- 3:34Speaker 1: about tons, and maybe we'll all be upset at the
- 3:37Speaker 1: end of it. What are we doing for KFC. I'm
- 3:44Speaker 1: still shocked and no one has brought chicken to KFC
- 3:46Speaker 1: And was like, ah, I get it.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Oh you know what, that was a good point. I
- 3:52Speaker 3: should be looking up fried chicken sho chicken giants.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Yeah, we know they got four days a fried chicken.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Absolutely, you hate fried chicken, so you can't eat there.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I like fried chicken, but I like fried chicken, so
- 4:09Speaker 1: you're not allowed to like fried chicken either.
- 4:10Speaker 4: So wow, yeah, so fried chicken.
- 4:18Speaker 1: But for the people that do pay our bills. W
- 4:22Speaker 1: Flavor does have a new energy out. It's drass Cart's
- 4:25Speaker 1: new favorite Moores Flavored. Oh this is my new favorite.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I mean I want to try it, but.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Might as well. It is it is my favorite advertisement
- 4:36Speaker 3: for a doubbie.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Yeah, new Smores flavor. So I don't see it like.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I was like, okay, maybe I should actually go to
- 4:44Speaker 3: their website, Like maybe that's the thing we're supposed to
- 4:46Speaker 3: do or something, And I was like, whoa, it's so big.
- 4:50Speaker 3: It says some moores flavor mixed in milk. We're the
- 4:55Speaker 3: only ones to to uh make such a wild flavor, uh,
- 5:01Speaker 3: because I guess s'mores are wild.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Oh well, it's it's like a savory energy drink. Yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 1: I mean for like, that's a savory flavor. So you
- 5:10Speaker 1: don't see a lot of people making like savory flavors,
- 5:13Speaker 1: more like fruity tart flavors. Well, okay, sweet maybe not.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Maybe savory is a bad word for it, like a
- 5:19Speaker 1: sweet flavor, a dessert flavor. There you go, yes, and
- 5:25Speaker 1: then you know it's normally like.
- 5:28Speaker 4: You said, there was a coffee flavored one.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I thought there was coffee flavored ones. Now, well it
- 5:34Speaker 1: contains coffee fruit extract, which there's no coffee flavored ones.
- 5:40Speaker 3: I guess.
- 5:40Speaker 4: I guess marshmallow flavors also on the list of no things.
- 5:45Speaker 1: But what did you say marshmallow flavors?
- 5:48Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 5:49Speaker 3: What about what you were.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Talking, uh wookie about what she likes? Sheep does like
- 5:56Speaker 2: his coffee. That is some coffee that that we counting.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yep, I like coffee too, So this is all this
- 6:03Speaker 1: is an issue for a lot more people than just me.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Guys, did you realize that we're actually flawed ingredients and
- 6:11Speaker 3: no flawed ingredients?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Not a lot in here, yep, not a one. But
- 6:18Speaker 1: you can use code draw better to get ten percent
- 6:20Speaker 1: off your doubIe can today. Also make sure you go
- 6:24Speaker 1: over to the Spano sprad to this not the new spreadshirt.
- 6:26Speaker 1: It's still the same spread shirt, just new stuffs on it.
- 6:29Speaker 1: We got all of your Vault twenty five needs, which
- 6:33Speaker 1: you know is kind of almost over. So if you
- 6:37Speaker 1: missed out on Vault, your Vault Tour twenty twenty five
- 6:40Speaker 1: merchants over there. But just if you're going to Vegas,
- 6:43Speaker 1: or if you're going to Vegas, do it. Just release
- 6:45Speaker 1: the Kansas. The KFC merch has been released. Key Forge
- 6:49Speaker 1: celebration is literally man, I can't believe this. Almost around
- 6:53Speaker 1: the corner we're past gen Con, which means we're almost
- 6:56Speaker 1: a KFC.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Crazy Oh man, Look how happy we are on our
- 7:01Speaker 3: spread shirt.
- 7:02Speaker 1: We're very happy.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Even she is smiling a little.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:06Speaker 4: I think's who's that.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Guy next to you?
- 7:08Speaker 4: Looky oh?
- 7:10Speaker 2: Send a good send a good link to everyone falling
- 7:13Speaker 2: along in there.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I don't I don't. I don't know that guy. I'm
- 7:15Speaker 1: not sure who he is. Yeah, sorry, I don't know
- 7:18Speaker 1: who he is. It's a small a small a he
- 7:24Speaker 1: looks I think, I don't know. He doesn't show teeth
- 7:28Speaker 1: when he smiles. Huh, just kind of gives you a smirk.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Nice.
- 7:32Speaker 2: So the out of the new keyboards celebration shirts, what
- 7:37Speaker 2: are you guys most excited for?
- 7:40Speaker 3: Alright, there's a clear winner for me. Which one is that?
- 7:47Speaker 4: Which?
- 7:48Speaker 3: I mean it's the alien one?
- 7:49Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 7:50Speaker 3: The alien finger of the arcad looking good?
- 7:52Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 7:53Speaker 3: What you got to scroll to get?
- 7:54Speaker 4: Tom? You do?
- 7:55Speaker 5: You do have to scroll to that.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I don't know why, but you do. And I'm not,
- 8:00Speaker 1: like I said, I'm not one hundred percent sure why
- 8:02Speaker 1: and it's kind of strange, but but uh.
- 8:07Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I'm a big fan of I went to because you
- 8:09Speaker 1: forgot to upload it? Would it be because I haven't
- 8:12Speaker 1: found it yet?
- 8:14Speaker 3: Well, let's go, chack. I just went through all of them.
- 8:17Speaker 3: I have not seen that one.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Friend.
- 8:19Speaker 3: I was like trying to click through to find it
- 8:21Speaker 3: because that is my favorite one, and I definitely don't
- 8:23Speaker 3: see it.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we definitely know this time. But I really like
- 8:29Speaker 2: I went to Keyboard Celebrations and.
- 8:31Speaker 3: All I got was uh, me, hey, oh sorry, I
- 8:37Speaker 3: ruined it.
- 8:38Speaker 4: My bad.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Let's see, we'll hear. No, we cannot use it. It
- 8:43Speaker 1: was rejected. Copyright issues rejected. Yeah, we got to change
- 8:49Speaker 1: that alien a little bit, I guess, then rejected. Reason
- 8:52Speaker 1: for reject copyright like a green like a gray Man
- 8:55Speaker 1: aliens copyright Yeah, well the FC the last one. The
- 9:01Speaker 1: KFC might be a little too close to the actual KFC,
- 9:04Speaker 1: but everything else was published, so uh to change that?
- 9:10Speaker 2: Can I change this to? And all I got was
- 9:13Speaker 2: a Janet Maybe there's a request?
- 9:16Speaker 3: Okay, you can't old Janet dreaming? Yeah, she turned it
- 9:23Speaker 3: down twice last year. Dude, don't you remember? No, I
- 9:26Speaker 3: don't and I was so so u.
- 9:32Speaker 1: But there are at least three new designs out there,
- 9:35Speaker 1: grabs yours today gen Con all right, we all right,
- 9:42Speaker 1: we all cracked our knuckles to get into this. So
- 9:46Speaker 1: if if if you don't like a lot of complaining,
- 9:49Speaker 1: right go listen to h F f S. There'll be
- 9:51Speaker 1: the sugarcoated ones to tell you all about it on Monday.
- 9:55Speaker 1: If you haven't heard CTP talk about games that he
- 10:00Speaker 1: is funding but knows nothing about Go listen to HFFS
- 10:04Speaker 1: for this past Monday well played well does anybody else
- 10:12Speaker 1: someplace called the.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Good?
- 10:16Speaker 1: I was gonna say, did anybody get? I can't be
- 10:19Speaker 1: the only one that got that feeling? Like the entire
- 10:22Speaker 1: time he's like, yeah, and we're releasing this game, and
- 10:25Speaker 1: like every fifteen seconds, Jeremany had to like step in
- 10:28Speaker 1: and be like no, no, no, And then it was like, oh, yeah,
- 10:31Speaker 1: that's right, I forgot haha. It's like, yeah, it's because
- 10:35Speaker 1: you're on your boat wearing your banana hammock instead of
- 10:37Speaker 1: creating games, and you're leaving it to all the other people.
- 10:39Speaker 3: But who am I to?
- 10:41Speaker 4: I mean, wait, why did you?
- 10:46Speaker 1: Why did I come?
- 10:47Speaker 3: And he's the big picture guy, right, He's like, I
- 10:52Speaker 3: know there's a good side and a bad side which
- 10:54Speaker 3: makes it and they're asymmetrics, so it's kind of like
- 10:57Speaker 3: net Runner, but not like net Runner.
- 10:59Speaker 4: But then.
- 11:01Speaker 1: But then you don't have to do it as a deck.
- 11:04Speaker 1: We are not even that far yet, sir. We're not
- 11:06Speaker 1: even talking about that bullshit.
- 11:08Speaker 2: But Dazzcore is going ahead and listing some of the specifics,
- 11:12Speaker 2: So yes, CTP, it's not every fifteen seconds that he
- 11:16Speaker 2: comes across as missing information. But there were a couple
- 11:19Speaker 2: of times, if there were a couple of times that
- 11:22Speaker 2: he did go ahead and provide some information that was corrected,
- 11:28Speaker 2: And you know, I appreciate that Jeremy was able to
- 11:30Speaker 2: do that, but yes, it does take away from his
- 11:34Speaker 2: perspective as kind of the leader and the overall vision.
- 11:37Speaker 2: He does shoot from his hip. So that's what I saw,
- 11:40Speaker 2: at least or heard.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I mean, he didn't do any worse than the leader
- 11:43Speaker 3: of this podcast.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I'm gonna say. I didn't think it was that bad.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Yeah, you want get your shit together, would you?
- 11:55Speaker 2: Well, I apparently am your new leader.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Yeah, friends, you take over to turn off my microphone.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I'll see all you fox later.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Repossible for all of my mistakes.
- 12:09Speaker 2: We will stop recording now and start from our prompted script.
- 12:15Speaker 1: I feel like there should there should be like that
- 12:18Speaker 1: that that screen that says technical difficulties and there's like
- 12:21Speaker 1: elevator music in the background.
- 12:23Speaker 4: Just come back, can I can I put in a
- 12:26Speaker 4: voter no confidence here and we can in our new leader.
- 12:32Speaker 1: He'll be fine.
- 12:32Speaker 3: This is a dictator, all right, This one's not.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Working off we go back to the other one.
- 12:42Speaker 4: But he's him in, Lock him in, don't let him out.
- 12:48Speaker 2: So gen con uh gen con. There was a gathering,
- 12:53Speaker 2: small gathering.
- 12:55Speaker 1: But how many It was Sydney, Yeah, and then there
- 13:03Speaker 1: was like somebody next to Sydney. Yeah, they had met
- 13:07Speaker 1: someone there. I guess like, well, I don't know I've
- 13:11Speaker 1: met the right term. But there were other people there
- 13:14Speaker 1: yet there was somebody that was hanging around with Sydney
- 13:16Speaker 1: like all weekend that played key Forge and then there
- 13:19Speaker 1: was squash And we're not one hundred percent sure, but
- 13:23Speaker 1: we think who was the other person that we thought
- 13:25Speaker 1: was there? We thought we heard their voice.
- 13:27Speaker 2: It sounded that yeah, that that was confirmed that it
- 13:30Speaker 2: was not.
- 13:31Speaker 4: It was not.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Okay, that was definitely so, oh yeah was nov was
- 13:37Speaker 1: not there?
- 13:38Speaker 2: No, dev was not there. I was also confirmed it
- 13:41Speaker 2: did I know?
- 13:42Speaker 4: Then?
- 13:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I will say that it was a small gathering
- 13:46Speaker 2: of individuals. CTP to go ahead and pretty much relieved
- 13:50Speaker 2: most CTP led the conversation and kind of kicked off
- 13:56Speaker 2: that it reminded him of f FG, of the old
- 13:59Speaker 2: day where it was in a far off room and
- 14:02Speaker 2: it was difficult to be able to find. So that
- 14:05Speaker 2: I guess with a small company you could expect a
- 14:08Speaker 2: small gathering, but there were some individuals that showed up.
- 14:13Speaker 2: We did talk about key Ford, you did talk about
- 14:15Speaker 2: Lord of the Rings, and then he did talk about
- 14:17Speaker 2: Echoes of Omen. He did start with key Forge, so
- 14:21Speaker 2: that was nice to be able to see.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I mean, he didn't want anybody in the crowd to
- 14:27Speaker 3: like leave before he got started, right, so he had
- 14:29Speaker 3: to start there.
- 14:30Speaker 1: They locked the doors behind him.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Sure, I love Twitch was there, Labinous Twitch.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Labs switch there, thank you. So it started out with
- 14:41Speaker 1: KeyForge in this grand endeavor, right.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Uh.
- 14:47Speaker 1: He talked about them being and and she says, we
- 14:50Speaker 1: just talked about this before. We just all agreed with
- 14:53Speaker 1: him because we don't remember. But they are no longer
- 14:57Speaker 1: bound to Asthma Day. They are allowed to go with
- 15:00Speaker 1: other distributing partners, so that has made them happy, so
- 15:04Speaker 1: they could distribute through all the normal means of distribution.
- 15:10Speaker 2: And that actually happened in April, so as of August
- 15:15Speaker 2: we're further away.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Wow. I talked about that after I came back from
- 15:19Speaker 4: games Day.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he says he didn't.
- 15:22Speaker 4: I remember.
- 15:24Speaker 1: We're all just shaking our heads yes and saying.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Uh huh. At least somebody remembers that doesn't remember that.
- 15:33Speaker 4: The distributors are choosing to carry KeyForge.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Correct, that is a thing.
- 15:42Speaker 3: You like. So my local store likes to use Alliance,
- 15:47Speaker 3: And do you have an option? Don't you really have
- 15:50Speaker 3: just two options? Which is Alliance or Southern?
- 15:54Speaker 4: Like? Those are it? Right?
- 15:56Speaker 3: Those are the big ones.
- 15:58Speaker 4: And Peach Tree are all bigger, big as big they're
- 16:04Speaker 4: they're big, might be bigger with Southern. There's Peach, there's
- 16:10Speaker 4: g G something, d M, and then there's a handful
- 16:18Speaker 4: that are more regional that I can't think of at
- 16:21Speaker 4: the moment because I don't I don't interact with them,
- 16:25Speaker 4: what except that trade shows.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Either way they're able to sell through them. Now, Yeah, so.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Your game story excused of we can't get it is
- 16:38Speaker 4: a lie. All they gotta do is ask their distributor
- 16:42Speaker 4: whatever one they're using, and they should be able to
- 16:44Speaker 4: get it. Although it's still probably better to go direct,
- 16:47Speaker 4: because I'm pretty sure O p kits are only through
- 16:54Speaker 4: directs well when they do them.
- 16:59Speaker 2: But yes, going through GG is a more direct route,
- 17:03Speaker 2: and I don't know. Our local store has found has
- 17:06Speaker 2: been successful in being able to acquire the summer event
- 17:09Speaker 2: from last year and to be able to order key
- 17:11Speaker 2: Forge through GG.
- 17:12Speaker 4: So that's nice.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Well, speaking of the summer event, we got it. We
- 17:18Speaker 1: heard a little bit about our summer ish event this year.
- 17:24Speaker 1: It'll be happening in three weeks. I hope you're already. So,
- 17:32Speaker 1: in typical GG fashion, they told us about our summer
- 17:34Speaker 1: event a month before it's actually going to happen.
- 17:38Speaker 3: What is it called JR.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Certain Darkness, Certain Darkness, So yeah, Certain Darkness was Actually
- 17:47Speaker 2: there were some images that were put up on our discord.
- 17:51Speaker 2: You could see four different cards that were there. It
- 17:54Speaker 2: is an event pack that you will buy a sealed
- 17:56Speaker 2: KeyForge deck, and it can be any keyboard deck is
- 18:00Speaker 2: going to incorporate than this pod. Similar to the Mars
- 18:03Speaker 2: event from last year. Different from Mars. We don't know
- 18:07Speaker 2: a ton of specifics, but it is something that is
- 18:09Speaker 2: going to impact and stick around with your decks.
- 18:13Speaker 3: What we heard.
- 18:13Speaker 4: I wonder if we're going to shuffle in and be
- 18:15Speaker 4: bigger than thirty six cards.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I wonder if it's a shared I think it's an
- 18:19Speaker 1: AD not a replace. Yes, I think I think it's
- 18:23Speaker 1: an AD too, but I think it's a shared deck,
- 18:28Speaker 1: a shared deck.
- 18:30Speaker 4: What amy Okay?
- 18:34Speaker 1: You you and your you and your friend. I don't know,
- 18:37Speaker 1: nobody does, suppose supposedly, so we record on Thursdays and
- 18:43Speaker 1: Gigi releases on Fridays. So tip it'll probably be out.
- 18:46Speaker 1: We'll probably talk about it next week. I kind of
- 18:49Speaker 1: thought it would be a shared deck because the whole
- 18:52Speaker 1: idea is those uh saucer headed crazy people at Logos,
- 19:01Speaker 1: they've dug too far doug where nobody really knows. I
- 19:06Speaker 1: didn't even know they were digging, but you know they've
- 19:12Speaker 1: got but they but for something. They've gone too far
- 19:14Speaker 1: this time and now there is the darkness or the void.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I guess that the void was that was it an
- 19:21Speaker 1: official term used? Yeah?
- 19:28Speaker 4: Yeah, the void is maybe a new play zone.
- 19:31Speaker 3: And we know how well new play zones going KeyForge.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Well, again, there's a lot of speculation in this. We
- 19:38Speaker 2: will go ahead. And what was explained from the talk
- 19:42Speaker 2: is that by the end of next week.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Which hold on to give away too much, right, we
- 19:46Speaker 1: can't give away too much here and it's gonna be this.
- 19:49Speaker 1: We don't want to give away too much, which means
- 19:52Speaker 1: that ship in in in corporate terms.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and I will say outside of the language, Wikie
- 19:59Speaker 2: that you are correct in that there were a lack
- 20:01Speaker 2: of specifics.
- 20:03Speaker 3: The language part wasn't correct.
- 20:04Speaker 2: I would no, but I'm saying in a lack of
- 20:07Speaker 2: specifics like this is CTP shoots from his hip a lot,
- 20:10Speaker 2: and there was just a lack of.
- 20:12Speaker 3: There's no from his hip. He shoots from his asshole, right,
- 20:16Speaker 3: He just makes shift up as it goes along, and
- 20:19Speaker 3: then he expects everyone around him to fulfill that.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Well, I don't believe that because my hip. Yeah, I
- 20:27Speaker 2: don't believe that, because we actually have a product here
- 20:29Speaker 2: of key Forge Event Pack certain Darkness and there's four
- 20:33Speaker 2: individual cards, so he can't be just shooting that randomly.
- 20:38Speaker 2: But there is information when he is talking that it
- 20:41Speaker 2: is very off the cough.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Again.
- 20:43Speaker 2: What was presented was that we should look for the
- 20:46Speaker 2: end of next week, which again is tomorrow after our recording,
- 20:50Speaker 2: there should be an article that's coming out. We're looking
- 20:53Speaker 2: at ability for stores to sign up right away. There
- 20:57Speaker 2: was a little bit of a discrepancy about CTP believe
- 21:01Speaker 2: that anyone could sign up for an event, but Jeremy
- 21:03Speaker 2: quickly went ahead and fix that. This again is your store,
- 21:07Speaker 2: so your normal reach out from your stores to be
- 21:11Speaker 2: able to set up the event, but we are looking
- 21:13Speaker 2: at September, so they a very very very quick turnaround.
- 21:17Speaker 2: It kind of reminds me of last was it last
- 21:20Speaker 2: year or was that two years ago, with our Vault
- 21:22Speaker 2: tours just kind of coming out very very last minute.
- 21:26Speaker 2: So I think one of the successes from last year
- 21:30Speaker 2: was that the Mars event was actually announced early. There
- 21:35Speaker 2: was then the store finder and people could look for it.
- 21:39Speaker 2: So I'm a little bummed to see that this is
- 21:41Speaker 2: coming out very very late. People were looking for it
- 21:43Speaker 2: in the summer, and we're you know, here in Wisconsin,
- 21:47Speaker 2: we're going back in September.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Last until sometime in September.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, technically by calendar this is correct, but
- 21:55Speaker 2: you have kids that are already back in school in
- 21:57Speaker 2: different states for us in Wisconsin, and we're actually promise
- 22:01Speaker 2: it by.
- 22:01Speaker 4: The time school was back in session.
- 22:03Speaker 1: But that's summer ding.
- 22:05Speaker 2: But yeah, it's so just the definition for summer. It's
- 22:09Speaker 2: a technical component, but that's only.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Summer if you have kids, which players do.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I'm just saying argue, well you are you
- 22:23Speaker 2: are arguing, Well, my my my issue, sheep is not
- 22:27Speaker 2: on what date. I'm glad that we have an event
- 22:30Speaker 2: I look forward to it. I would have liked to
- 22:33Speaker 2: have seen some more specifics that were actually announced in
- 22:36Speaker 2: this talk, So I'm looking forward to the article.
- 22:38Speaker 4: This, this talk, this talk, this Keith or this gen Con.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Releasing all your information super piecemeal to a very small
- 22:47Speaker 4: group of people. All that wasn't officially recorded was recorded
- 22:53Speaker 4: by a cell phone, and then all of us are
- 22:57Speaker 4: standing here going like, well, what's real and what's what's not?
- 23:00Speaker 3: Like gen Con owner's mouth, but what do you mean what?
- 23:07Speaker 4: Yeah, but we know you were just going off about
- 23:12Speaker 4: how you know this particular owner's mouth is not a
- 23:15Speaker 4: spectacularly accurate source of information.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Well, am I wrong?
- 23:21Speaker 4: No, you're absolutely right, which means we gotta wait for
- 23:24Speaker 4: the news. And it's clear that we are come back
- 23:28Speaker 4: from gen Con and release an article on Monday. You'd
- 23:32Speaker 4: think you would think they'd be like, okay, we want
- 23:35Speaker 4: to Well, no, I didn't have gen Con so people
- 23:40Speaker 4: to drive to join us, which means we should sit
- 23:42Speaker 4: down and have whatever we're going to talk about gen
- 23:46Speaker 4: Con fleshed out so we can release it to the
- 23:49Speaker 4: world afterwards. A lot of the time it's like auto released,
- 23:54Speaker 4: like the same day the talk happens like the talk
- 23:57Speaker 4: happens alcoholm and then the inner the beater just goes,
- 24:00Speaker 4: oh it's two pm on Saturday. They're done, boom push
- 24:04Speaker 4: this live because that's a feature most websites have. You
- 24:09Speaker 4: can choose when the pages go love this is true, right,
- 24:13Speaker 4: but instead we got Thursday night.
- 24:18Speaker 3: So well, Jeremy has been right original Jeremy. He's been
- 24:23Speaker 3: working all week to up here one page with like
- 24:26Speaker 3: the things that CTP said, and he's got to be like,
- 24:29Speaker 3: oh shit, we gotta change to this he's got.
- 24:33Speaker 4: And then this is where I'm saying, like you would
- 24:35Speaker 4: think you would have that all laid out before and
- 24:37Speaker 4: not be like, we are going to come up with
- 24:40Speaker 4: our business plan on the fly in a room with
- 24:45Speaker 4: even listeners sheep.
- 24:48Speaker 2: They are very small teams and you can possibly expect no,
- 24:55Speaker 2: but I mean, like that.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Inficient communication because like there's only seven of us to
- 25:00Speaker 4: talk do, but twelve people like you could still fit
- 25:05Speaker 4: the whole team in the conference room.
- 25:07Speaker 1: And who is to know that somebody would record it
- 25:09Speaker 1: with a cell phone and maybe hold them accountable to
- 25:11Speaker 1: one thing or another. Strange Wow, So what wookie here
- 25:17Speaker 1: here's my question.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Is this the only team that is the gaming group
- 25:23Speaker 2: focused that is a small team. No, no, no, I
- 25:29Speaker 2: believe that you even have a cast on Altered, which
- 25:32Speaker 2: also is another small team, but is able to apparently
- 25:36Speaker 2: accomplish monumental tasks compared to what RGGS small team.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Are you kidding me?
- 25:43Speaker 4: Yeah? I mean shit.
- 25:45Speaker 1: They figured out a whole system how to reprint cards
- 25:48Speaker 1: and send them to you, so you can literally trade
- 25:52Speaker 1: your cards digitally online with somebody from where wherever, France, Germany.
- 25:58Speaker 3: My goal is not.
- 26:00Speaker 1: And my goal is.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 26:05Speaker 2: My goal is not to go ahead and and distract
- 26:07Speaker 2: us into Altered. But this idea that we've been told
- 26:13Speaker 2: again and again that GG must they're a small team
- 26:17Speaker 2: and so they can't accomplish this task. It's really growing
- 26:21Speaker 2: very very old. The short answer is that there's others.
- 26:24Speaker 4: They're a small team. It's that they're a team that's dysfunctional.
- 26:28Speaker 4: They have they don't have the qualifications to deliver the
- 26:32Speaker 4: changes and stuff that needs to be done in key
- 26:35Speaker 4: Forge that we know they only have one proxy web
- 26:39Speaker 4: guy and he's the set designer. Nobody else at that
- 26:43Speaker 4: company seems to know anything about how computers work. We
- 26:46Speaker 4: know Jeremy knows how to play video games.
- 26:48Speaker 3: That's nice, right, there's an on and and off button.
- 26:51Speaker 3: I'm sure a lot of them know.
- 26:52Speaker 4: How things work. But like the.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Tractor, I don't know is he he's there a lot
- 27:03Speaker 3: I saw.
- 27:06Speaker 4: But either way, like a lot of the stuff we
- 27:09Speaker 4: ask for what we want isn't necessarily in their wheelhouse.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Now I'm going to go back to team to cover
- 27:18Speaker 4: those things is a whole other world. And that's the
- 27:21Speaker 4: thing with Altered is they probably have actually hired individuals
- 27:25Speaker 4: who can deliver the things they want for their game.
- 27:30Speaker 2: I'm I'm going to go a step further and if
- 27:34Speaker 2: but isn't that how you're.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Supervising fucking hire? Aren't you supposed to hire things that
- 27:41Speaker 4: aren't you supposed to hire people, but you were hiring
- 27:46Speaker 4: that will further your goals into the games that you
- 27:50Speaker 4: also have to pay them enough money that they want
- 27:55Speaker 4: to come and do that work. When you pay you know,
- 28:01Speaker 4: okay ish at not great wages from what we saw
- 28:06Speaker 4: in advertisements and whatnot.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Like.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Generator was like fifty thousand dollars a year. Yeah, that's
- 28:16Speaker 3: not great money.
- 28:17Speaker 4: It's okay, ish right, Like we talked about fifty fifty
- 28:23Speaker 4: k doesn't get you ten to fifteen years of experience
- 28:29Speaker 4: and qualifications and this and that it can somebody who's me,
- 28:33Speaker 4: I hate my current job, Well, maybe they're paying during
- 28:37Speaker 4: me two more. We don't.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Actually, I was like, didn't this do a senior designer
- 28:41Speaker 3: in fantasy flight games? I mean he definitely who knows
- 28:45Speaker 3: what that means? Right?
- 28:47Speaker 1: Like, Like, I don't know how you talked about it.
- 28:50Speaker 4: It's like if I don't say anything, then I'm not
- 28:54Speaker 4: for anything smart.
- 28:58Speaker 3: That's smart as heck.
- 28:59Speaker 1: I mean that's that could be the ticket right there,
- 29:01Speaker 1: right Like if I don't say to that, you can't
- 29:03Speaker 1: hold me accountable.
- 29:04Speaker 4: And then the other thing is, even if you got
- 29:07Speaker 4: people who have ten years of experience in doing stuff,
- 29:13Speaker 4: you still have to overcome what we seem to think
- 29:17Speaker 4: occurs there, which is they present ideas and CTPS spouts
- 29:22Speaker 4: random different stuff and that's what they're going with.
- 29:25Speaker 2: I'm going to add, I'm going to go back to
- 29:27Speaker 2: my earlier statement. Unfortunately, I love the team at GG,
- 29:32Speaker 2: I really do. I just think that it is not
- 29:35Speaker 2: a cohesive group that works well together. I really see
- 29:38Speaker 2: it as a dysfunctional family, and that has become more
- 29:41Speaker 2: and more apparent, which is very troublesome. I think a
- 29:45Speaker 2: group of a small group in a gaming industry can
- 29:48Speaker 2: go head to make some very very big strides, but
- 29:51Speaker 2: they have to be on the same page and they
- 29:53Speaker 2: have to work together. And I just don't see that
- 29:55Speaker 2: from the interactions that I've had, from sending out people
- 29:58Speaker 2: to a vault who don't really care about the game,
- 30:02Speaker 2: to comments that are shared both openly and behind the scene,
- 30:06Speaker 2: like it scares me that we're just we're doing great
- 30:11Speaker 2: for what we have. You have a phenomenal game and
- 30:13Speaker 2: an amazing community, but behind this the scene, the strings
- 30:18Speaker 2: that are being pulled, there's a real question about how
- 30:21Speaker 2: it's led and how it's coming together. Okay, I'll say
- 30:26Speaker 2: yes and no. Have you met this team, the four
- 30:30Speaker 2: of us.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Yes, like us, like I have. We are the most.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Unfunctional team made alive. Yet somehow it works on a
- 30:43Speaker 1: weekly basis.
- 30:46Speaker 4: Uh. Yes, but we also have we're zero financial stake
- 30:53Speaker 4: or zero, it doesn't it's okay for us to sew.
- 31:03Speaker 2: The short answer is, lookie that we're we are grounded
- 31:06Speaker 2: in here because we love this game of KeyForge, and
- 31:09Speaker 2: it is phenomenal.
- 31:10Speaker 3: The community is great.
- 31:12Speaker 2: What we bring to the table is some very different
- 31:17Speaker 2: perspectives and different beliefs and a chance to be able
- 31:19Speaker 2: to talk. That being said, we have also proven that
- 31:24Speaker 2: we can put an event together and be able to
- 31:25Speaker 2: run an event such as key Forge Live. So there
- 31:28Speaker 2: is some background that when you're passionate and you have
- 31:32Speaker 2: a goal, it can be done. But for the GG
- 31:34Speaker 2: staff it is a job, and there's a number of
- 31:37Speaker 2: people who show up that don't have that same love.
- 31:40Speaker 3: What we ran there was not.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Financially viable in the long run, correct.
- 31:50Speaker 3: I think we.
- 31:53Speaker 2: We We created all of the items, which is the
- 31:56Speaker 2: tricky part when you're going ahead and putting an event.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Together, brids of on paid hours making stuff for that event,
- 32:05Speaker 4: like that's that is what happened, which is which is fine,
- 32:10Speaker 4: like not saying I regret the decision, but I'm saying
- 32:12Speaker 4: you can't expect the company to be able to provide.
- 32:18Speaker 5: That.
- 32:19Speaker 3: I don't know if we're asked but cheap.
- 32:22Speaker 2: The difference is that we're doing it as a second job,
- 32:25Speaker 2: and if you look at gig, this is supposed to
- 32:27Speaker 2: be their primary job is working at a game company,
- 32:29Speaker 2: and so they.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Show to go you know what, after I did forty
- 32:34Speaker 4: hours of work that I had to do. I'm gonna
- 32:36Speaker 4: spend the next forty hours of this week doing this
- 32:39Speaker 4: ship for nothing. Now you're saying, Josh, you got Josh, Jeremy, Michael,
- 32:47Speaker 4: all of them, Like you've got forty hours of regular work,
- 32:51Speaker 4: and now you still need to do this forty hours
- 32:53Speaker 4: of extra shit to make these events better.
- 32:56Speaker 2: You're talking about events. I'm just talking about the company
- 32:59Speaker 2: as a whole. I honestly am.
- 33:01Speaker 4: Smiling, Like we we always assume that they're doing nothing.
- 33:05Speaker 3: No, I would argue that they're doing nothing. Y right,
- 33:10Speaker 3: they gotta they gotta.
- 33:11Speaker 4: Sort foils in the deck like that old.
- 33:17Speaker 1: That old guy ontok like this printed back in the day.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Like I just listening to CVZ talking about what they
- 33:28Speaker 3: have to do the foils, I was like, oh my gosh,
- 33:30Speaker 3: Like this is the thing we actually really like. And
- 33:33Speaker 3: the only reason I think they're probably cursing CDP's name
- 33:36Speaker 3: is they're going through deck by deck, swapping card by card,
- 33:39Speaker 3: Like we wish we'd have to do this. CDP is like,
- 33:43Speaker 3: do it, but we love it.
- 33:44Speaker 4: So thanks.
- 33:48Speaker 5: In that manner.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I know the cost was listed at fifty dollars for
- 33:52Speaker 2: an all foil deck. It would be a great promo activity.
- 33:55Speaker 2: It would also you'd have people who would purchase even
- 33:59Speaker 2: at the high.
- 34:01Speaker 4: If it's twenty five dollars to reprint a deck regular
- 34:06Speaker 4: with some accolades that I'm more interested, like one hundred
- 34:11Speaker 4: percent truth, I would be way more interested in the
- 34:14Speaker 4: accolades if they also pinged onto my player account.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Right well, I was kind of crazy every accolade.
- 34:22Speaker 4: I've ever gathered to be in one spot when you
- 34:26Speaker 4: click on Sheep, I want you to be impressed with
- 34:28Speaker 4: all the little Sheep's icons. The way we have it now,
- 34:32Speaker 4: it's a disaster. It's like, oh, go look at this deck,
- 34:35Speaker 4: and then this deck and then this deck and then
- 34:38Speaker 4: I hate. I hate the way the accolades are done
- 34:41Speaker 4: in that regard. I like that they're on the decks
- 34:43Speaker 4: that earn them, but I hate that they are not
- 34:46Speaker 4: attached to the player. So like when I won with
- 34:50Speaker 4: Wookies deck and it got a little thing for winning
- 34:54Speaker 4: a store championship, like that's not even in my collection.
- 34:59Speaker 4: I can't to even reprint that deck with that on
- 35:02Speaker 4: there because I don't own it. Like I that accolade
- 35:07Speaker 4: means nothing to me functionally, Like I have no meaningful
- 35:11Speaker 4: way to interact with that accolade, and that annoys the
- 35:15Speaker 4: crap out of me that the player doesn't also earn
- 35:21Speaker 4: the accolade. So twenty five bucks to reprint accolades. I
- 35:25Speaker 4: personally don't care that much about them printing on decks.
- 35:29Speaker 4: That isn't a big thing for me. It's a big
- 35:30Speaker 4: thing for other people. But fifty bucks to foil a deck,
- 35:34Speaker 4: if that was the actual price, yeah, I would.
- 35:37Speaker 3: That was Actually He's like, yeah, I'd probably considered that.
- 35:41Speaker 4: I was like that that's where Jermany's back there or
- 35:45Speaker 4: somebody who does the math is like going, oh my gosh,
- 35:48Speaker 4: what did he just do it to us? Because yeah,
- 35:50Speaker 4: I was like, I was like at one point, did
- 35:52Speaker 4: he mean fifty dollars cost or fifty dollars sale price?
- 35:56Speaker 4: Like it would cost the company of fifty bucks to
- 35:58Speaker 4: make it. Then they can't sell it to us for
- 36:01Speaker 4: fifty bucks?
- 36:02Speaker 1: Yeah, because I was like, only fifty dollars, where do
- 36:04Speaker 1: I sign up?
- 36:06Speaker 3: Right?
- 36:06Speaker 1: Like cheaper than I thought it would be.
- 36:10Speaker 3: They also like I because right now he said they designed,
- 36:15Speaker 3: they did a great job designing.
- 36:17Speaker 4: The big shout to Will. Yeah, like they would help
- 36:22Speaker 4: do that for every card. Yeah, and put a shine job.
- 36:27Speaker 4: I hear shame job.
- 36:29Speaker 3: That's a big it's a big upfront cost.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Oh she.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Yep, big up front. I will I will say zone quickly.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I will go ahead and talk that when we're talking
- 36:47Speaker 2: about promos, and that it can come out for the
- 36:50Speaker 2: next game, their new game that we'll talk about in
- 36:52Speaker 2: a little bit. Echo omens they can't go ahead and
- 36:54Speaker 2: do promos for KeyForge. I really think that this is
- 36:58Speaker 2: a very large lie that we're going ahead and living in.
- 37:02Speaker 2: And I want to state that anyone who's playing competitive
- 37:06Speaker 2: key Forge, we have to have our decks sleeved. So
- 37:11Speaker 2: if you give me a different back that's foiled, are
- 37:15Speaker 2: you going to go ahead and see the back?
- 37:17Speaker 5: Nope?
- 37:18Speaker 2: Would I see the foil? It would just replace the
- 37:21Speaker 2: car that's there. And we have to have a deck check.
- 37:24Speaker 2: So if we have a deck check, it proves that Wookie,
- 37:27Speaker 2: you had done this. You actually created in here somewhere
- 37:29Speaker 2: which was nice, beautiful extended art that was foiled. How
- 37:33Speaker 2: long did that take you? And where did you go
- 37:34Speaker 2: ahead and do that through?
- 37:36Speaker 3: How long did it take me? The art itself? It
- 37:39Speaker 3: probably took me.
- 37:41Speaker 4: Didn't you have like a whole high school work on
- 37:43Speaker 4: that for a project or something.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I had them delete one thing for me because yeah,
- 37:47Speaker 1: that took a long time. That only took a whole
- 37:50Speaker 1: high school team three hours okay, and then I had
- 37:56Speaker 1: to go back and do a stuff. So total project
- 37:59Speaker 1: time on whole thing was probably four hours ish.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 38:07Speaker 1: The border was the biggest one, right, But once I
- 38:10Speaker 1: had the border, everything, Like if I would have saved
- 38:12Speaker 1: that border, I could use that border over and over again.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Shipping I don't know, two weeks, three weeks, so.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it came from China, but you're going to get
- 38:26Speaker 2: a sheet that has the same card, and so you
- 38:30Speaker 2: can go ahead and repeat that and then just cut
- 38:32Speaker 2: it out and guess what, that'd be a great promo
- 38:34Speaker 2: to send to your stores for.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Different they cut it for me, They're just like, here's
- 38:40Speaker 1: a tea plastic raptor. There was just like one hundred
- 38:44Speaker 1: and ten of them or something like that.
- 38:46Speaker 2: But what I'm saying is that you could hand those
- 38:48Speaker 2: out to stores to give the prizes that they could
- 38:51Speaker 2: fill in. You could go ahead and give those out
- 38:53Speaker 2: at the Vault tour in order for people and pick
- 38:56Speaker 2: a common card because guess what they're in many many
- 38:59Speaker 2: different especially if you pick a recent set, the most
- 39:03Speaker 2: live set right now, we could pick pick prophetic visions
- 39:06Speaker 2: and you can pick a comment and it's going to
- 39:08Speaker 2: show up routinely. There great people would like that. I
- 39:12Speaker 2: thought that it was a missed opportunity to go ahead
- 39:14Speaker 2: and have it at gen Con. Like we'll talk about
- 39:17Speaker 2: the events, and I think that there were some really
- 39:19Speaker 2: big successes with having it not a national's event, but
- 39:22Speaker 2: some smaller events. But hand those out, here's your gen
- 39:26Speaker 2: Con exclusive and it just could be a little stamp
- 39:30Speaker 2: that's there. And again, I know Sheep and others don't
- 39:33Speaker 2: necessarily feel the need for that, but there are people
- 39:36Speaker 2: who like to collect everything, and it would have been
- 39:39Speaker 2: another reason to attract more individuals out or to be
- 39:42Speaker 2: able to try and acquire it on the secondary line.
- 39:44Speaker 4: I think the proof and key for it has been
- 39:46Speaker 4: they keep making stuff and the secondary collector market for
- 39:52Speaker 4: most of it is minuscule.
- 39:56Speaker 2: It is.
- 40:00Speaker 4: There.
- 40:00Speaker 3: You haven't made anything to collect in Key.
- 40:03Speaker 1: There's nothing to collect in Key for it's more bad decks,
- 40:07Speaker 1: there's nothing.
- 40:08Speaker 3: To put there to collect. Yeah, well, the problem is
- 40:12Speaker 3: is that you have you have card is.
- 40:16Speaker 4: Going to change your opinions.
- 40:18Speaker 1: But if it's one foil card, that I can use
- 40:21Speaker 1: one in my favorite But this isn't one foil.
- 40:24Speaker 4: But it doesn't. It only replaces a card that's already
- 40:27Speaker 4: in the deck. It doesn't actually let you change the decks,
- 40:30Speaker 4: so you still have to have a deck that you
- 40:31Speaker 4: want to play. And he's a foil. I'm all for
- 40:34Speaker 4: putting him in. I just think it's going to have
- 40:38Speaker 4: a little flatter reception. Like we have asked for several things,
- 40:44Speaker 4: and they've made all print decks, they put the things on,
- 40:47Speaker 4: they've made the they've made the accolades, they're doing stuff,
- 40:50Speaker 4: and all of it is all like everybody's like, yeah, okay,
- 40:57Speaker 4: you get that's that's how it is.
- 41:00Speaker 1: It's been yes, because it's continuously yes. But everybody has
- 41:05Speaker 1: a favorite deck. We're in here somewhere is in can
- 41:08Speaker 1: we agree upon that? I don't, You don't.
- 41:12Speaker 2: It's a high probability, is what you are saying, right, Wookie,
- 41:16Speaker 2: And I get that any individual common shows up more
- 41:19Speaker 2: frequently than an uncommon or rare, and so you could
- 41:22Speaker 2: potentially sub it into many more decks than just getting
- 41:25Speaker 2: a random deck that frankly, most of the time is poor.
- 41:31Speaker 1: I mean you could for these events that are coming out. Hey,
- 41:35Speaker 1: we're releasing Foil blah blah blah, right, and your your
- 41:39Speaker 1: collection will grow as time continues and you'll be able.
- 41:43Speaker 1: You know, you can go back and be like and
- 41:46Speaker 1: this can be for random op months too. We're going
- 41:50Speaker 1: back to CODA and releasing battle Fleet in Foil. No interest,
- 41:59Speaker 1: I mean I think.
- 42:00Speaker 3: I play key for it.
- 42:01Speaker 4: If that's the prizes, they'll take it. Well.
- 42:03Speaker 1: What I will have a question that we always ask
- 42:06Speaker 1: for months and months and months, what interest sheep? Because
- 42:12Speaker 1: if we can interest you, we can interest we can
- 42:15Speaker 1: interest the man.
- 42:16Speaker 4: I mean you're talking to the guy who is consistently
- 42:20Speaker 4: said prising isn't the motivating factor for me, So you
- 42:25Speaker 4: are definitely I am I am the wrong person in
- 42:28Speaker 4: regardless of but I think you're the price and did
- 42:31Speaker 4: getting but there.
- 42:33Speaker 3: I can't.
- 42:35Speaker 1: There because if I can get your butt out of
- 42:38Speaker 1: the seat, that means I can get a lot of
- 42:40Speaker 1: other people's buttside of seats.
- 42:43Speaker 4: No, my my ass shows up for nothing.
- 42:47Speaker 3: It doesn't matter what you can.
- 42:50Speaker 1: You consistent I were providing blow jobs, sheep would show
- 42:54Speaker 1: up whoa, whoa, whoa, saying very quickly just saying if
- 42:59Speaker 1: that was the problem one.
- 43:04Speaker 3: What I'm saying.
- 43:08Speaker 2: What interest sheep made at interest others, And unfortunately KeyForge
- 43:14Speaker 2: has a problem that many people, many people are interested
- 43:18Speaker 2: in different items. What I will argue is is that
- 43:22Speaker 2: right now we have a great product in that you
- 43:26Speaker 2: have your Foreskin deck, you have your battle Test to deck,
- 43:29Speaker 2: you have all of these different deck outlines, and the
- 43:32Speaker 2: idea is great. But the problem is is that ninety
- 43:37Speaker 2: nine percent of these decks are not competitive and have
- 43:42Speaker 2: little meaning. That is one hundred percent true, but they
- 43:46Speaker 2: have little meaning to the player. So I think that
- 43:49Speaker 2: actually going ahead and producing something like Wookie, where you
- 43:53Speaker 2: had an individual card that you could replace just for
- 43:57Speaker 2: a more competitive player, is something that might attract a
- 44:02Speaker 2: more competitive player, So that might be more appropriated a
- 44:05Speaker 2: Vault Tour, but it doesn't mean that it's going to
- 44:07Speaker 2: go ahead and work for everyone. I think that if
- 44:11Speaker 2: you want to actually increase the interest in a product,
- 44:17Speaker 2: you have to limit the scarcity of it. And right now,
- 44:20Speaker 2: all of these decks are one of which means I
- 44:23Speaker 2: either like it or I don't, and I could care less.
- 44:26Speaker 2: What you can see is if I only produce a
- 44:29Speaker 2: hundred of these cards and then I have them at
- 44:32Speaker 2: this vault tour. They actually increase in value by only
- 44:36Speaker 2: having the hundred.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Well, they only increase the value if people want them,
- 44:40Speaker 1: So Sheep is right there. Nobody wants them, and I've
- 44:42Speaker 1: only printed a hundred of them. That doesn't make them
- 44:45Speaker 1: more valuable. I work a stop and PN shop. I
- 44:47Speaker 1: know all about this stuff.
- 44:49Speaker 2: I can agree with you there, but I'm going to
- 44:52Speaker 2: tell you there will be people who will come out
- 44:54Speaker 2: who will see but again put out market Hey, we
- 44:57Speaker 2: have this pecial people.
- 45:01Speaker 3: If you go.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Marketing works and it's which fifty, so fucking try one.
- 45:09Speaker 1: How about what zero?
- 45:12Speaker 2: If we go ahead and actually can increase at a
- 45:14Speaker 2: ten percent rate of our vault of sixty, so you
- 45:17Speaker 2: get six people, that's a massive increase.
- 45:21Speaker 3: I don't even think even half of that.
- 45:24Speaker 4: They have zero. They have done that. We have seen
- 45:29Speaker 4: zero things to be able to prove anything they've done
- 45:33Speaker 4: is changing numbers.
- 45:37Speaker 1: You can take the key cost we have heard from
- 45:42Speaker 1: that they have no way. They have no quantifying that
- 45:46Speaker 1: unless you get out and talk to it.
- 45:47Speaker 4: Right, they have they have one. They have one good
- 45:53Speaker 4: bit of data if they listen to Sydney talk about it, right,
- 45:56Speaker 4: like that's that's it, Like there's no Oh.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Well, maybe they need to listen to more people than
- 46:03Speaker 1: just Sydney and we're just gonna complain about that.
- 46:07Speaker 3: So, yeah, we we love Sydney.
- 46:11Speaker 2: But I will tell you, when you have a small team,
- 46:14Speaker 2: you have to have other perspectives and you have to
- 46:17Speaker 2: have opposite perspectives to be able to provide you with
- 46:20Speaker 2: feedback to be able to grow.
- 46:22Speaker 3: And you can look at it.
- 46:23Speaker 2: You're still gonna have to make a decision and go
- 46:25Speaker 2: on one side or another with your decision that you're
- 46:28Speaker 2: going to make, but you should be gathering perspectives that
- 46:31Speaker 2: are more in contrast than everyone is saying yes, CTP, yes,
- 46:36Speaker 2: whatever you want.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Sydney is saying that's a dub idea to anything she's
- 46:41Speaker 1: being told.
- 46:42Speaker 2: Again, I love Sydney. I'm not that is not our
- 46:45Speaker 2: goal here. I'm just saying that I think GG will
- 46:48Speaker 2: be more successful if they have some contrasting perspectives. And
- 46:52Speaker 2: some people who are we know they.
- 46:54Speaker 4: Hear the stupid ship, we say.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and we see that it actually comes to lights
- 47:00Speaker 2: waiting for that check sometimes.
- 47:02Speaker 4: Or maybe they discuss it internally and then they have
- 47:05Speaker 4: to do their own like evaluation on like is do
- 47:09Speaker 4: we do we think that spend is going to result
- 47:13Speaker 4: in increase Just because you say I think foils will
- 47:17Speaker 4: bring ten percent more players, there's that's that's nothing. That
- 47:21Speaker 4: is a totally invalid data point.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Right Like again we're looking at that. I'm saying if
- 47:30Speaker 2: anything brings in ten percent, it's good.
- 47:32Speaker 4: But right now there's no say that something would bring
- 47:38Speaker 4: ten percent, and you have to go, I think this
- 47:41Speaker 4: could and the cost would be worth it.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Again, you need to actually try try to individual perspective correct.
- 47:52Speaker 1: My frustration is that something we keep putting that because
- 47:56Speaker 1: they keep putting out there, they just go.
- 48:00Speaker 4: And it's just like because I think they're more in
- 48:04Speaker 4: my view where they go, Like I think that spend
- 48:07Speaker 4: is going to result in zero percent change.
- 48:11Speaker 1: But it could result in you know, at least retaining
- 48:14Speaker 1: the player base you have as well, because right now
- 48:17Speaker 1: you are losing the player base you already have for
- 48:19Speaker 1: a multitude of reasons.
- 48:21Speaker 4: It's all it could, right, So a decision has to
- 48:24Speaker 4: be made and then the result is the result, and
- 48:28Speaker 4: there's there is zero ability to ab test the stuff, right,
- 48:34Speaker 4: you can't. They don't have the budget to be like, well,
- 48:37Speaker 4: these thousand people over here are going to experience that
- 48:39Speaker 4: way and these thousand are going to experience this way,
- 48:41Speaker 4: and we see which one strikes better, right, Because there
- 48:44Speaker 4: isn't any money for that kind of stuff. The problem
- 48:49Speaker 4: is they just have to pick and fire, and clearly
- 48:53Speaker 4: their choice is exceptionally conservative.
- 48:56Speaker 2: Zero how much you pick up A zero gain is
- 49:00Speaker 2: a flat number. I agree with what you said their sheep.
- 49:03Speaker 2: It is a very conservative focus that they go ahead
- 49:06Speaker 2: and put in. But I am telling you, we have
- 49:09Speaker 2: data that shows we are losing people and if we.
- 49:14Speaker 4: Are using there is nothing that says spending this will
- 49:21Speaker 4: stop that from happening. And the thing that the thing
- 49:25Speaker 4: that you're missing is they can spend the money right
- 49:29Speaker 4: and they still can't say if it made an impact
- 49:32Speaker 4: because there's no way to tell what was going to happen.
- 49:36Speaker 2: No, there is no way to tell. But what we
- 49:38Speaker 2: see in the industry is that other companies are investing
- 49:42Speaker 2: in local OP and frankly, right now, without local op
- 49:46Speaker 2: you can have these major tournaments, which we love. This
- 49:48Speaker 2: is our competitive scene, this is our fun we will
- 49:50Speaker 2: travel to. But it is a small eclectic group that
- 49:54Speaker 2: consistently turns out for these events. You have some pocket
- 49:57Speaker 2: areas where people from the region go ahead and show up,
- 50:00Speaker 2: but for the most part it is.
- 50:02Speaker 5: The same individuals.
- 50:03Speaker 2: Instead, we'll go ahead and refocus your energy on a
- 50:07Speaker 2: local O P system that will go ahead and make
- 50:11Speaker 2: a meaningful impact in building your player base, re establishing
- 50:15Speaker 2: the local store.
- 50:17Speaker 4: Change all those two may because there's no guarantee they
- 50:21Speaker 4: deliver nothing. Series of events that anybody wants to do
- 50:26Speaker 4: anything with. Nothing is keychain thing, and it's been a
- 50:32Speaker 4: it's been a flat for us. I've seen people say
- 50:35Speaker 4: it's worked. Okay, no way, disagree with you now. No,
- 50:39Speaker 4: not the keychain website, the key chains, the little keys.
- 50:44Speaker 3: They made, that the discovery thing.
- 50:48Speaker 4: Oh yeah, which for us at our local, I might
- 50:53Speaker 4: be the only person who bothered to engage with the store.
- 50:56Speaker 4: So now the store is sitting on a bunch more
- 50:58Speaker 4: ship they can't never move, which I picked, okay up
- 51:03Speaker 4: to you have mine? No, yea, I have theirs.
- 51:08Speaker 1: I never took another one, but I bought my four
- 51:10Speaker 1: shitty Discovery decks and then yeah, actually, I'm sorry, I
- 51:15Speaker 1: bought for shitty Discovery decks.
- 51:17Speaker 4: They're now in Pete's possession.
- 51:19Speaker 3: The problem.
- 51:20Speaker 2: The problem is that the key chain was again attached
- 51:24Speaker 2: to Discovery, which was more of a flop for us
- 51:27Speaker 2: as established players.
- 51:30Speaker 3: But if you look at it comes back to it.
- 51:33Speaker 4: Even if they print foils or new decks or whatever,
- 51:37Speaker 4: the fact is is the other part that we beat
- 51:41Speaker 4: on all the time is they are doing zero to
- 51:44Speaker 4: put that information in front of players who aren't actively
- 51:49Speaker 4: involved in key Forge right now. The only place to
- 51:51Speaker 4: find out about KeyForge dot com, which means that they're
- 51:56Speaker 4: already invested in key Forge. It's very which which is
- 52:02Speaker 4: why I'm saying there's no point in them.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Okay, so even than the people who are out there
- 52:07Speaker 1: playing key Forardge right now, how do I know where?
- 52:09Speaker 1: Well I can go on this day and go and
- 52:11Speaker 1: play in this event. Still no stor map of who
- 52:15Speaker 1: carries Keyforde. How are they going to do this?
- 52:18Speaker 4: Because they never had good luck with any company store map.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Really, because that's how I found you guys, and that's
- 52:25Speaker 3: how I found that Warrior.
- 52:28Speaker 4: That's exactly wasase we've shown up at somebody's house and
- 52:33Speaker 4: wasn't actually an event. No, Actually they're all hit or
- 52:38Speaker 4: miss too.
- 52:39Speaker 2: Blue Dog showed an event, and that's why I started
- 52:41Speaker 2: showing up there for anything else. Further, yes, we get
- 52:45Speaker 2: more detailed, but it gives you an access point. I'm
- 52:48Speaker 2: just saying right now.
- 52:49Speaker 4: And he changed a little thing when they do something.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, so they did a store locator when they
- 52:56Speaker 1: did the Mars event. And I think we can all
- 52:58Speaker 1: sit here and degree that the Mars event was probably
- 53:01Speaker 1: the most successful key Forge event we've had post pandemic,
- 53:06Speaker 1: and we have the next one coming in a week, right.
- 53:09Speaker 3: So.
- 53:11Speaker 4: Here's where it grinds my gears. That's like, I don't
- 53:15Speaker 4: I mean, like Store Championships. The first Store Championship was okay,
- 53:19Speaker 4: then Mars was really big, and then stecond Store Championships
- 53:22Speaker 4: we saw a huge decline.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Yeah, well because you're back because the first Star Championship. No,
- 53:29Speaker 1: they're both school time never mind.
- 53:31Speaker 4: But again the so I think we're going to do
- 53:36Speaker 4: that same huge decline on this next storyline event too.
- 53:41Speaker 3: I think so because of the TI.
- 53:43Speaker 2: It's very delayed because there's only one non competitive event
- 53:49Speaker 2: for key Forge players like corps like beat each Other's
- 53:54Speaker 2: face as the only point of showing up the Store Championship.
- 53:57Speaker 4: Effectively, there is only one event a year. I'm with you.
- 54:01Speaker 4: I think more organized play at the store needs to exist.
- 54:10Speaker 4: I don't think focusing on the prizing for what that
- 54:14Speaker 4: event is is the meaning. We can talk about experience
- 54:20Speaker 4: that people want to come to.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Great, we can talk about that.
- 54:23Speaker 3: Hopefully this thing will be right. So what we will go?
- 54:28Speaker 1: Here's the biggest thing that ground my gears right. And
- 54:31Speaker 1: I'm just gonna flat out say it because we're already
- 54:33Speaker 1: running along because every time we have these bitch session
- 54:36Speaker 1: powow echo chambers. The one thing they did talk about
- 54:40Speaker 1: was Echo of Omens. They talked about Lord of the
- 54:42Speaker 1: Ring confrontation here, trying to capture lightning in a bottle again, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Echo of Omens is their new game. They don't know
- 54:50Speaker 1: when their Game Found is going up. I think it's
- 54:53Speaker 1: going up beginning of next year, maybe maybe end of
- 54:59Speaker 1: this year. And they're hoping to have that out by
- 55:01Speaker 1: twenty twenty. They're hoping to have their Game Found product
- 55:04Speaker 1: out by twenty twenty six and a full launch of
- 55:07Speaker 1: the game by gen Con next year. And the question
- 55:12Speaker 1: was asked about local op and you know, again, maybe
- 55:16Speaker 1: this was just another ctp BS moment, but he's like,
- 55:21Speaker 1: oh yeah, we fully plan on having a local op
- 55:24Speaker 1: of OPA structure or OP for Echo of Omens, and
- 55:31Speaker 1: it's like that's for me, was kind of the the
- 55:36Speaker 1: slap in the face, just a huge slap in the face.
- 55:41Speaker 1: So you're I mean, but they're coming out with a game,
- 55:44Speaker 1: they can't not try to do that, So.
- 55:47Speaker 4: Such like the place of these games is in such
- 55:52Speaker 4: different different things. It's the thing it's a brand new game, yep,
- 56:04Speaker 4: which means they we we Keith Forge is always going
- 56:11Speaker 4: to suffer the same thing that Netrunner actually suffered from.
- 56:15Speaker 4: And a lot of these games is like they it
- 56:18Speaker 4: has already gone through ninety percent of the player base
- 56:22Speaker 4: that's going to show interest in right, And then both
- 56:28Speaker 4: of those games have killed many players who would have
- 56:31Speaker 4: stuck with them by being not supported, deleted, brought back
- 56:36Speaker 4: that supported deleted, brought back all the crap that has
- 56:39Speaker 4: gone along with all these games. And they both still
- 56:41Speaker 4: have groups of people who play them, right, But those
- 56:49Speaker 4: groups of people I don't know, like have a the
- 56:56Speaker 4: change in player base percentage and number isn't going to
- 57:00Speaker 4: be monstrous where a new game is going from zero
- 57:03Speaker 4: to a bigger number and then you expect to lose
- 57:07Speaker 4: people and some people stay.
- 57:10Speaker 1: But but how do you not consider that a slap
- 57:12Speaker 1: in the face. We've been asking for this for four
- 57:17Speaker 1: years and then for two three we wanted, but we
- 57:26Speaker 1: were told twice we're gonna do better, and then they
- 57:30Speaker 1: don't do better. How many times do I have to
- 57:33Speaker 1: let Daddy beat me before I walk away? However many
- 57:39Speaker 1: times you're willing to be beat because you like the
- 57:41Speaker 1: candy Daddy has like lean into this, lead into it.
- 57:49Speaker 4: Like it's it's yeah, Like it is not super awesome
- 57:57Speaker 4: to be a key Forge player in regard arts to
- 58:00Speaker 4: the support we get, Like I just feel like like
- 58:05Speaker 4: if you're if you're only here because of the prizing
- 58:08Speaker 4: and the support, this is not the game for you.
- 58:12Speaker 4: You have to be able to deal with the junk
- 58:15Speaker 4: because you like the game.
- 58:18Speaker 1: No, well, I deal with the junk because I like
- 58:21Speaker 1: the people. I don't deal with the junk because the
- 58:24Speaker 1: game is neither heighten her hair.
- 58:30Speaker 4: Like the people. I also like the game because like
- 58:35Speaker 4: I I mean, and we've done it. We can quit
- 58:39Speaker 4: this game whenever we want, but we keep playing this
- 58:41Speaker 4: game because there are some of us who actually really
- 58:44Speaker 4: like this game, and this is still what we want
- 58:46Speaker 4: to play, Like, can we quit more fun to play
- 58:49Speaker 4: this than other than the other choices?
- 58:54Speaker 5: Can we really quit the game?
- 58:56Speaker 3: I don't. I don't.
- 58:59Speaker 4: Just get.
- 59:01Speaker 1: No, like I don't know how to quick.
- 59:05Speaker 4: I've done it with other games that I've been this
- 59:08Speaker 4: involved in, and then I go, well, the value of
- 59:13Speaker 4: the game to what I get out of it is
- 59:16Speaker 4: not there anymore, and it's time to move on. It's
- 59:18Speaker 4: still not there with this game for me because the
- 59:22Speaker 4: cost is so relatively low for the quality of gameplay
- 59:27Speaker 4: that I am fine with this game and what it.
- 59:32Speaker 1: Is, because I can see because I think our count
- 59:37Speaker 1: and Alliance are awful things.
- 59:39Speaker 4: These stays I have been puts me a little bit
- 59:42Speaker 4: closer to being like, this isn't a game we're spending
- 59:45Speaker 4: more time on. And the amount of time I spend
- 59:48Speaker 4: on Keyfarde now is lower than what it was a
- 59:51Speaker 4: year ago, and I don't see it picking back up
- 59:55Speaker 4: because I'm not engaged with Alliance at ARCon and you know,
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: we're playing through ABR now and I'm indifferent going into
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: these ARCon week after ARCon week after ARCon week. At
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: least here they're like making us have multiple sets or
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: going FFG only, but just open ARCon, open alliance stuff,
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: just PV in general versus the rest of the world.
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: I'm not engaged with that at all.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: That's a really interesting statement. Though your identification from last
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: year to this year has decreased. We won't even go
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: into significant, but has decreased. And so this is where
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: we have a number of players where it has decreased,
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: because it's always on that moving line of we're increasing
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: or decreasing.
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: Where are you.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: But if it's decreasing, there's people that it's actually just leaving,
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: and so those are the people. Well, but if you're
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: really looking at it, you have been so highly invested
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: that if you're actually going that far down, it's just
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: it's a very interesting slide to be able to look
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: at that we are losing.
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: And we have seen this.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: We've seen content creators who've left within the last year.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: We've seen people who have been highly invested in the
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: competitive scene leave.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Within the last year.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: And so they're actually saying, at this point, while I've
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: invested in the game, I don't see the value coming
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: from it. And that's where I want Gigi to recommit
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: and actually put in whether that's local op, whether that's
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: some investment of marketing to go ahead and reach out.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: There has to be something. But at this point we're
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: to be that's over here. I don't see to develop
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: this game.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: Like my problems with this game are not I mean
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: like the op could be better, prizes could be better,
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: but those are the like, this game has to have
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: an OP level for me to be involved. Right if
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: this game was table top kitchen table only, I have
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: also done right, Like I played this game because of
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: the competitive scene happens to be. I think seals the
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: only one healthy. And yes, that's what's in my opinion
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: killing is the development, not the op scene in that
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: what they're offering. It's how they have developed the game.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: The I mean like I didn't have a huge problem
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: with the power creep in Woe and gr even Amber
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: Skies is hit or miss, but the the it's this
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: game is becoming more and more of that thing I
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: talk about. I hate in board games where when you
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: play into a random deck right when you're when you're
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: and this is why I won't play Firefly the board game,
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: because there's a random deck you draw into and the
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: low the negative of the lowest card versus the positive
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: of the good card. It only takes drawing one of
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: the bottom cards to knock you out of that game.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: Or you see your opponent draw two of the good
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: cards in a row and the game's already over. It's
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: that fast. The cards are that impactful when the spread
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: between the bottom and the top is that high, and
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: that's how the new sets are developed. The middle of
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: the road stuff is meaningless. It's fine, it's it's good
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: for general seal play. But the top of the line
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: stuff is so much higher than it's ever been that
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: it just makes it. It makes it garbage. Where when yeah,
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: like the the spread, the spread has just become unreasonable.
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: When you don't it is have a very strong limited access,
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: Yeah it is.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: It is taking out the strategy that a lot of
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: people flock to for this game to be able to
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: think through and to be able to play. One of
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: the charms of this game was I had to play
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: with all thirty six cards and right now there are
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: literally some ten point cards that are carrying individual houses
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: where the rest of the cards.
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: Are, and then you've probably not valueus these, so you
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: don't actually have to play with the bad cards. You
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: just get to picture them under a pointless prophecy.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: Which is why I was saying you got more, which
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: I like that part.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: I like unlimited type pips, but it's not the unlimited
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: type pips that I mean. I think that's part of
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: what makes PV super strong, But it's the how exceptionally
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: gay warping a few cards are that makes it a
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: different monster. Yes, I agree, Draft cour has been quiet.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I mean, like Trank, there's me because they.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: Didn't pay enough attention.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: Right yeah, So for the competitive scene, can we not
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: just go ahead in a raw even.
- 1:05:11Speaker 4: Coming into the competitive scene, and I think we're going
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: to see the double and triple cover fire decks. You're
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: just gonna get so sick a plane. We we shall see.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: I still love seal steal, I agree, I mean still
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: my favorite.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: I still enjoy Sealed, even though it happens in Sealed
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: where your opponent gets really good shadows that you don't
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: and you just.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: As they as they happened to, right, yeah, absolutely, yeah.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: But.
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: Yeah, three decks like one, Yep, that's that's where it
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: should be.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: I know you're going to be if you gave me
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: the option of two different sealed types and if I
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: play again. We talked about this and in nauseum how
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: many times if you gave me the option to play
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: Sealed two days in a row, I take.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: It, man, Yep. I'll give you more money. I will.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I will give you more money, Gig, I will give
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: you more money. I will pay the hundred dollars for
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: the original three and then I will buy my own three.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: I will pay you more money to do another sealed event.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: We can call it a legacy sealed.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: I hear what you're saying, looking, and I do agree
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: that Sealed is the sweet spot for this game.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: There's no questions.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: That's where this I has always been dominant, right, This
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: game has always been really good and sealed, right, it
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: just it has and and does it dominate because I
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: got some of the good cards and you didn't. Yeah,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: that's gonna happen, right, And that's a bummer.
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: Oh that's why you're playing sealed. You're lucky. And right,
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: you're lucky. You're playing impact, right, And.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: I brought I brought the idea up at Tuesday again.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Four worlds. I'd like to see one world champion, and
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: each day is played for the single event just like
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: you're seeing in Europe for their Vault. So here, one
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: day is for Sealed, one day is for ARCon, one
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: day is for Alliance. Tally up those three totals for
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: your overall victory. You want to go ahead and crown,
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: here's your sealed champion, great, do it. You want to
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: crown each of the individuals sealed ark on an alliance,
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: go for it. But I definitely would love to see
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: more of that Vault Warrior and again old previous component,
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: but really test who has that skill for key Forge.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: It also brings people in. We are too small of
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: a community to go ahead and disperse and say we're
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: playing all these events, like two of the events on
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: the same day. But yes, if we have Sealed, you're
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: gonna have people coming out. But I think that top
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: level Spike type player, you're going to see people really
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: interested in being able to compete, and you'll have more
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: people play an alliance if you go ahead and have
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: it so it carries points.
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: What can you do?
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: You know?
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: I mean, the more I thought about this, I did
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: do some thinking about this. The more I thought about it,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: the more I was like, you know what, that's a
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: terrible idea.
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: And the reason.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna give you my my reasoning right,
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: and this is based and the first person I went
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: to with sheep because I was like, if they forced
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: him to play Alliance, ARCon and Sealed and he's all
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: had value in the day that he has, that might
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: cause him to quit the game.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: He's played.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: He's played two events last year, I played all three.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: No, I know, but if if they said like, oh,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: you have to you have to do this, yeah, world.
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: You're never invested in Alliance.
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: Do.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: You're You're never forced to, You're never forced to go
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: ahead him play in the event.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: But then you're not going to score it.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: You're gonna no, correct, you're gonna.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: There's no point in playing in all the other events.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: Then sure we're crowning our Sealed in our.
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: I'm looking on this. I I don't like being I'm
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: still get freaking rid of a lions.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: Well yeah, that's that.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: I that but that was again brought up that it's
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: not going to be going away.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I just play it because I've already done the
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: ARCon thing and Sydney's nice enough to provide me.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: With some I think it's incredibly difficult to get rid
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: of it at this point, Like, would you just be like, well,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: this isn't for Alliance, We're not going to do I.
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: Mean that that would be a guaranteed way to cut
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: ten percent of the player base. That would Oh yeah,
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: I think so.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: At least that you already have it.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: Would it would be a promise of value of das
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: being taken away? It would? It would? It would hurt
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: this game tremendously now because there are a lot of
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: people who have acquired even if they don't play Alliance actly,
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: they have acquired or kept things because of Alliance value,
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: and to just to take that away is just another
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: like proof that they don't care about the players at all.
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: It's a GG decision.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: Well okay, but is it proof that they don't care
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: about care about what the eleven players that actually play Alliance?
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: But you know there's more than eleven twenty seven, Lots
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: lots of people. Lots of people still acquire Alliance decks
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: even though they never play Alliance because they might run
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Alliance at their locals or they play it online.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: Like it's they have forced it to earn its spot.
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: It's small. It's not one that anybody here actively engages
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: with the building portion of it. But we've all played it.
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: We just play it now because there are people who
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: that's the only way they want to play key Forge
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: and as long as they're not making us do the
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: overhead work where we're willing to do it.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: All right, boys, Fine, I stopped. I stepped out to
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: get another beverage here. Did we talk that Echo Oman
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: going ahead and uh marketing that they plan in marketing
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: Echo of Omens? Yeah, I mean the great because that's
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: something that's that's not here for key Forge anyway.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: Did we talk about that?
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: Because when they when they talk about like, oh, we're
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: gonna market Echo of Omens, I wonder if they mean
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: like it's the same way they market key Forge. We're
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: gonna let game file and kind of see what happens.
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: So my my true feeling regarding Echoes of Omens, it's
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: one I have no interest, but two I really don't
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: know if I would put my money behind another Ghost
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: Galaxy project right now, right, I mean, like a grap
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: thing that interested me maybe, but like to be like
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: I want to invest in their next endeavor. They certainly
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: have not proven in a way to me that they're
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: going to drive a game to success. I mean, is
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: it gonna put her around?
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: Sure?
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: If the game is awesome, will it have a crowd
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: and people play it? Yeah? If the game is mediocre
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: like the current popular games are, do I think they
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: have the ability to push the other stuff behind it
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: to make it a success, Like they have to have
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: an amazing gameplay game.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: Sheep, You made me think about this. This is going
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: to the three of you boys. Would you rather have
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: f FG leading key Forge or GG? I will let
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: whoever wants to step up first. No, hold on, we
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: are right now today, twenty twenty five f FG. Yes,
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: And where f FG was when we left off, because
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: we were recording at that now.
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: Because if we were, if we were run by me whatever,
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: if we were run by what is left of f
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: FG Asthma day whatever card game, we would be one
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: hundred percent discontinued. There would be no key Forge.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: Well, let's just say they got those They wouldn't.
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: They would have never come back from the hiatus. Right.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: Let's let's just say they did it and that magically
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: came back and a guy was like, oh, I'm sorry,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: let's just say it happens, right, And they got all
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: their stuff back and they didn't have anything to worry
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: about and they were just able. Let's just say the
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: grand heist never happens, right.
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: An FFG game. I think we're past the life cycle
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: of any FFG game and already.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Real issues there and the communication so, I mean, GG
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: communication was very good early on. It has just really
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: suffered as we have continued to progress through this game.
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: I think we're blessed in having GG, who doesn't require
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: the game to have I don't think well, I don't
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: think their requirements to print and consider the game worth
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: doing is at the same level as an f FG
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: Asthmad a monster because they're privately owned still, right, so
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: it can Yeah, it's it's good that it's in the
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: hands of a company that can accept the the profit
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: margins that go along with having a niche game, because
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: once it goes niche at f FG, it goes goes
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: a ditch yep, I said FFG.
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: I mean because FFG in the era of Asthma day ownership, right,
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: they're really just a shop for IP and for Arkham Horror,
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: which is an IP. So the only way it would
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: survive is if they thought key Forge as an IP
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: was powerful enough, which it really isn't at this point, right,
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: So so.
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: I mean, you're asking the choice between two not so
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: great options, right, this is the choice that we have.
- 1:16:06Speaker 5: But again that's why I'm curious.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: That's why it's called smash the pass. Oh wait, no,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: this is either or Sorry, I don't know. I just
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: I think FFG would do a better job. It's a
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: bigger company, they'd be able to get it out more. Again,
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: this is magical fairyland where we never lost the original algorithm, right,
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Oh that it.
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: Got cold and it's a whole different world we're.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Living, right, But I just like, that's not the I'm
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: looking at what they're doing with the universe, you know, SWU,
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: and I'm like, man, I wish GIG would do any
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: of that for us other than certain members of the community.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: Man I wish GG would do that for us, except
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: for certain members of the Man I wish GG would
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: do that for us.
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: I mean, you guys are why sheep everything?
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: But you you just like.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: And and maybe I'm on the wrong end, and I
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: assume what costs to do everything are too high, and
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: you guys assume the cost to do things are so
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: low they should.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Just be doing them five dollars much.
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: I don't know what the answer is. I don't know
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: where the real answer in between is. But I think
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: anything because the cost, the cost to do it on
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: the level they have to do it on because if
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: they if they presented the foil cards that you made,
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: we would dog pile on them, like nobody's business. Right,
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: The foil cards you made are cool and I like
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: them fine, but they're you can tell they're made on
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: the cheap, yeah, right, or on the affordable with minimal investment.
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: And if they provided that, no, like people would.
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: Cards were fine. I don't know what you're talking about, Okay, I.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: Mean, yeah, you're correct, I mean it was it was
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: the people that I can I think great for what
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: you did.
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: Like, I'm not trying to piss on your effort.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: No, No, I'm just saying, like I don't. I don't
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: have the technology they have, right, I don't have these
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: massive nice I like, if I had the technology they had,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: yet I could have done a much better job. I
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: could have, but like I got to rely on a
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: third party company. I actually when I sent those off,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: I didn't know what they were going to come back
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: looking like I wasn't when I got them, I wasn't
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: one hundred percent thrilled with them. I'm like, oh, they're
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: too dark. I should have gone I should have gone
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: with this coding layer or that coding layer instead of.
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: You.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: Right, you learn by trial and error, right, But like
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: they have the ability to do this right.
- 1:18:59Speaker 5: And.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: It's not free or zero costs. Right, you are correct,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: it is not free or zero costs. But I would
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: rather see ship minimal effort than no effort. And right
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: now with what I see, I am seeing no ship. Yeah,
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: I think what effort? What I think that's where I
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: can get.
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: Something does happen.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: Correct, But this is where this is where the breakdown
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: is actually happening cheap, is that there is a lot
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: of work that is being done behind the scenes. There
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: always is that people are unaware of. The problem is
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: when you don't make people aware of what's actually being done,
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: people think the worst and they think that nothing is
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: being done. And that's what we're seeing. If you look
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: around for marketing of hey, we're going ahead and holding
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: our World's championship on this date in this location. Hey,
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: we're televising here, we are having streamers Hey, we're having
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: a vault tour in this location. You can follow along.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: There is nothing on any major gaming system set up
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: that we are aware of. So unless you're going through
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: key forging dot com, unless you're part of our discord,
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: good be a small group.
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: You don't know that this is happening.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: But we run into the same plot problem we've talked
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: about over and over again. Where the hell do you
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: put the where do I put?
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: This? So?
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: Okay, so let's say I go through that and I
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: want to do this grand marketing campaign and I want
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: to get it out that can't KeyForge Celebration is going
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: to be held November ninth through the thirteenth or whatever
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: the dates are. I don't remember the dates off the
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: top of my head. Where do I go with that
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: information so that people who might be interested in an
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: event would see it?
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: Fantastic? Yes, we've had our suggestions. Guess one we think
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: is board game Geek great? Like, you can't imagine that
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: the cost advertise on board game Geek would be very high,
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: But I do these are numbers I also don't know.
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I do wonder if they should try to pick
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: one of the board game conventions that and and like
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: like go hard there, like really try to be like, hey,
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: we're gonna teach people to play. We're gonna we're gonna
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: like this is.
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: The card game for board gamers, right, send two people
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: down there with a bunch of decks. Not Jeremy too.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: You not send Jeremy to. You want someone.
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: If you dress Jeremy to up in a cool key
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: Forge out foot he is tall enough to be seen.
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: You just have to use him for you got to
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: accentuate ill dress.
- 1:21:54Speaker 4: You dress him up as as Narp and just let
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: him narp around.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: But of Narparognarp, you're not a Pokemon at all.
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: Didn't know.
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: It is an It is an interesting question, dres. I
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: will say. The other item that I had on here was,
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: uh the idea that GIG at this point cannot back
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: out of a game out of a key Forge game
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: found campaign. But they're only going to have one game
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: found campaign for Echo moments.
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: That's this is another GGI promise, which is we want
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: to do game found Founder and then we trust that
- 1:22:36Speaker 4: it's going to sell enough in stores that we don't
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: need to do another game Found, which memory reality maybe different.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: I hear what you're saying Unfortunately, what I see for
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: marketing is that it's just coming from game Found. So
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: game Found seems to be doing the marketing for GG
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: and it has to be something more DRez. I like
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: your idea of the game finished yet I mean no, no,
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: but I'm saying early to market it. No, I'm saying
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: for key Forge. So if we're looking at it again.
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: This is all. It just was key Forges. They are
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: they have zero effort outside of Discovery kits to bring
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: in new players, and even Discovery Kids was like, well
- 1:23:21Speaker 4: here's something that if somehow you have new players, you
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: got something to play with them. But again it was
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: I hope the stores do something with this.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: I think, yeah, I I never did like and I do.
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: I do like an event every month, but like.
- 1:23:40Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: Discovery event.
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: He had a thing by the key Forge stack.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Website and as a season the key Forge player is
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: painful to play.
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: It. It's not amazing painful.
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: They are very for a new I was looking at
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: board game geeks. You have a day at at a
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: thread where you know some some players. Some board game
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: geek folks were like complaining about tv uh, and a
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: couple of people were like Discovery is great. I was like, well, yeah, maybe.
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: Discovery to you.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: Ever, if you have never played any other Keyfarge and
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: you are new, Discovery is great, right it is. It
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: is a very good starting off point. But like once
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: you get into all the others, it's kind of like UFA.
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: If we had two or three people show up and
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: be like, hey, we want to learn about Keyfarde. We're interested,
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: you know this Discovery thing, we would all just buy
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: Discovery and play with them. Right. Probably we would all
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: absolutely do that if people showed up. But the only thing,
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: I think, the only thing that has worked for us
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: is that we are on our stores calendar and it
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: has shown up now for over a year, and we
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: keep showing up. So people who are like they're like, oh, well,
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: maybe I'll catch it, and at some point that they
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: actually have time, the fact that we're still there, they go, oh,
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: I can actually show up and give it a try.
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: And that's the only thing is it's people are like, yeah,
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: I'm interested, but you know, they're not looking to play
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: key Ford's lifestyle like we do, but they're interested in
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: it here and there, and the fact that we're consistent,
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: which means they can just kind of show up on
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: any Wednesday that's free for them, Tuesday Tuesday. In our case,
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: they can do that. And I think that's the only
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: thing that's working for us is that we have proven
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: that we are a known quantity. Like if you want
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: to show up on a Tuesday and play key Forard
- 1:25:55Speaker 4: and you know, we've had like two players and a
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: couple of people have shown up once or twice, like
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: and then even when they showed up, they're kind of like, well,
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: you know, I just can't show up regularly. But I
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: like key Forarde, We're like okay, yeah, yeah, Like, well
- 1:26:10Speaker 4: we'll be here to play key Forge with you whenever
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: you want on Tuesdays key Forde and that's that's, you know,
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: like for for life.
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: I think that this is what Eco Bomans is going
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: to really struggle with as well. There are just so
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: many new games, from board games to CCGs to TCGs.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: There are games that are literally vying for your time
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: and the new hotness. I mean even within the Gundam
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: that we just saw within the last two weeks.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I just somebody I saw somebody post on Facebook
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: like our first Gundam event, there are one hundred people
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: like local plays, and I was like.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: Jess, but it is in everything is vying for your time,
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: and the new hotness is what grabs your attention. GG
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: definitely has to try and win over stores and to
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: be able to pull people in.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: Just going to I'm just having such a hard time
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: wrapping my brain abround what Echo of Omen even is.
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: Like, it's a symmetrical fantasy card game. Yep, that's competitive. Yeah,
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: like what was Flesh and Blood. It's a face masher
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: that's got some dudes and you match each other in
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: the face. Like it's just another game you can play.
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: Maybe it works for you, but like, I'm so confused.
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: On deck construction, It's like, well, you buy these starter decks, okay,
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: and then you buy packs and you can arrange those
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: and it's like, oh okay, but you got to start here.
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: It's like, oh okay. Like it's so weird and confusing.
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: I like it.
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: They're creating synergy, Wookie write synergy with their siby. They're
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: giving me, uh what you call it?
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: What are they giving me? They're giving me?
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: How?
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: Yeah? Why is this difficulty?
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: It's you're buying a starter, you're picking the two sides
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: that you have to form for both and you're going
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: to sub out it's a standard deck.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: But like so it's just a standard so it's just
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: like any other CCG.
- 1:28:12Speaker 4: Well why CG, because the it is more like Kickstart,
- 1:28:20Speaker 4: Fresh Start, Magic Start, What the hell is that called
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: the Magic one, where like it was a playable deck.
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: Starter, Yeah, so you bought two packs that was your
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: deck Kickstarter.
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: It is more in line with that where it's like,
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: if you want to just open one deck and play it,
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: this is going to be guaranteed to be functional.
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: Yes right.
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: Now. Again, this is key forger any game that's that way.
- 1:28:53Speaker 4: The quality of functional is where the definition of functional
- 1:28:56Speaker 4: is jump.
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: Start Jump Jump a great job Start yep, right, And.
- 1:29:03Speaker 4: Because their packs are also going to be thirty six
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: and forty two cards or whatever, so it's just like
- 1:29:09Speaker 4: their packs are guaranteed to be a level of playability
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: as is. So it's like buying the sixty card Magic Starters,
- 1:29:17Speaker 4: but even more probably more rules in how it assigns
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: what's into the deck to guarantee some.
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: Level of playability.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: And then what I got to buy other starter decks
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: to then get more cards, or I got to buy
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: other decks to get more cards to rearrange with the contract.
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: Still it's still a random it's a the understanding we have.
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: It's a collectible card game where you buypacks and then
- 1:29:42Speaker 4: you can use the cards to build a deck in
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: you know, standard deck builder fashion.
- 1:29:49Speaker 5: They have not.
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: Commented on rarities or uniquees or any like. We don't uniques,
- 1:29:54Speaker 4: We don't know that much. And then we've already spent
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: too much time talking about it, so let's move on.
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I was still going back the whole
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: idea that GG can't back out of key Forge game
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: Found campaign. Why, like, if we don't have to go ahead,
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: if we don't have to, if we don't have to
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: use asthmi distribution and you can buy from game zenter
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: in gig directly, why it's because there's another.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: New printer to print echo of omen.
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: This is another impossible question to answer. So your postulation
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: is quit doing Kickstarter game Found and just trust on
- 1:30:37Speaker 4: all your players being able to get a store to
- 1:30:39Speaker 4: buy what they want through distribution.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: Right, No, no, no, They specifically said that they will
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: continue to use game Found for key Forge, And again
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: when we went through the reboot for Whoa, it was, Hey,
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: we're going to do this once we already took a
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: massive hit and by people.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: Saying, hey, we're not doing this, so why why do we.
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: Keep digging into it?
- 1:31:00Speaker 4: Because they looked at their numbers and said, there is
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: not a stuff stuff moving through the stores for us
- 1:31:10Speaker 4: to know.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: They ever think that there's not enough stuff moving through
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: the stores because everybody's buying it through the game found
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: So how many of our come every week with at
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: least a pack that they brought from home and not
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: I mean, mister Purpect every week just comes to the
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: pack he brought from home, doesn't buy it from the store.
- 1:31:27Speaker 4: You can't take our store and it's one player as
- 1:31:31Speaker 4: the truth of the community and the thing that we're
- 1:31:34Speaker 4: and I'm agreen like, but you don't know that if
- 1:31:37Speaker 4: you pull the Kickstarter and say you can only get
- 1:31:42Speaker 4: this through distribution, go to your store and get this right,
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: does the one hundred thousand dollars of Kickstarter decks that
- 1:31:51Speaker 4: are sold become only twenty thousand dollars of those decks
- 1:31:56Speaker 4: get sold because the other one hundred thousand dollars didn't
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: bother to go find it through another source. Because Kickstarter
- 1:32:03Speaker 4: is easy. They wanted whatever bonus and now that that
- 1:32:06Speaker 4: doesn't exist and they're only playing it at their kitchen table,
- 1:32:09Speaker 4: so they've never gone to a store to play this
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: game anyways. Yes, Like, if that's true, GG makes more
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: per off, Well, that's probably true, should be true, right,
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: So this is a question that we would hope that
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: the people are buying it would go, I'll just go
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: get it to the store. But you know that's not true.
- 1:32:31Speaker 4: If you add one inch of extra effort for some people,
- 1:32:35Speaker 4: they are out. Yes, so that's why.
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: And i'air they seed the kickstarter right, and to be fair,
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: I mean they've said that, oh, we're only going to
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: do this game phone one time until it's like, oh shit,
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: we made a lot of money, maybe we'll just do
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: it this too.
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: Times it's because they made a lot of money. I
- 1:32:54Speaker 4: think it's because they went, oh shit, there's not enough
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: of this stuff moving through the stores to not have
- 1:33:01Speaker 4: this well and I agree that doing it, but I mean,
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: would you keep selling it direct to people? No? Why
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: didn't you buy it from this store? Every and this
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: is the thing we've talked about on the show too.
- 1:33:15Speaker 4: Every game company, including Asthma Day, wants to sell direct
- 1:33:20Speaker 4: if they could cut out game stores and make all
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: their money selling direct.
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: They would do that, well, I'm not I'm not voicing
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: that they should go direct. I think that they had
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: some issues with Asthma Day and being able to have
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: for distribution. They're now out of that, but I think
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: but yes, I think that they're too far gone that
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: they also have plenty of stories here and with our
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: own stores that we experienced where there are stores who
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: will not carry key Fordge again because they got burned
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: the first time around. Yes, like there is the poisoned
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: well that is Keyfarge for some players and some stores
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: is too high that it does not matter what GG
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: does unless it somehow blows up like Pokemon, because there
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: were stores who totally quit carrying Pokemon because it also
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: did this to them. At one point Pokemon was poison
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: like well fur the sallet and now it's back to
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: being crazy.
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: Hot and the Wizards of the Coast days.
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: Yeah, if they somehow got key forced to be that
- 1:34:21Speaker 4: kind of hot again, yeah, those stores could get over it,
- 1:34:24Speaker 4: but that's not realistic.
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: I will tell you that I went into a barrister,
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: our other local store who used to house events, and
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: they're like jet willy uh. They actually they're like, because
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: there was someone who is showing.
- 1:34:37Speaker 4: The new face. Have aoa?
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: They have they have AOA and whoa that were there?
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: That is it?
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: The aoa they were selling for seven dollars that was
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: discounted on their discount rack, and the Whoa, I want
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: to say, was for thirteen dollars on their discounted.
- 1:34:54Speaker 4: Well, I mean that's a whole story of that store
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: and their mentality things.
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: And that I am a one hundred percent in agreement,
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: but I thought it was very very interesting. And they're like,
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: well I talked. I say, we used to have our
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: game group and then you shut the store down. They're like, well,
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: we have the store that's now back over at over
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: in Greenfield again, Like, but we already have a committed
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: group that's been sitting with your competitor for years, Like.
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: That idea is a real problem.
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: But you have some stores that again they're still sitting
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: on it at full or very like.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: If I was only interested in playing board games, I
- 1:35:32Speaker 4: would still be a tolerable customer of Barrasser. But after experiencing.
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: And that I wasn't trying to get in the car
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: game world.
- 1:35:43Speaker 4: I don't think I'll ever go to that store again
- 1:35:46Speaker 4: in my life. They were I mean, like back when
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: it was small, he was super friendly with you and
- 1:35:52Speaker 4: running mechwarrier like that was fine for us. But when
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: it got to multiple stores, that place changed a lot.
- 1:36:00Speaker 2: Yeah, gen Con, we did have some events, boys, and
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: I think that that was a success. They were running
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: Sealed TV. They ran a big Crucible clash, and they
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: had lots of demo where there was actually some really
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: good feedback regarding discovery. So those are the big takeaways.
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: Do we know how well attended the like mini tournaments were.
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: I have heard nothing. I know Sydney signed up for
- 1:36:31Speaker 4: the one and then didn't go, So we didn't get
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: numbers that here or good.
- 1:36:39Speaker 5: I'm not gonna be able to find that quick enough.
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: I had it.
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: It sounded like they did well. Yeah, okay, that's cool.
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: Do they have more than twenty players? Maybe? Because if
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: they had more than twenty players as like better than Nationals.
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: Right, Hey, you guys want to switch to a cookie
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: run podcast.
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: I do have the sleeves. I know.
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: This game like I don't know how, but this game
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: is following me. I'm not I must be the sleeves
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: because it's just like everywhere I go, it's just like, hey,
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: have you played Cookie Run? And I'm like, what the.
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: There is how advertising works?
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: Like Old Guard Gabe, which is a game store that
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: had contacted me about getting in contact with f R
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: F f G because they had wanted to run a
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: Vault tour there.
- 1:37:45Speaker 4: I had mentioned Josh that they were big enough for
- 1:37:48Speaker 4: a Vault tour.
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yep, answer, So I don't think that choice anyways.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: But they are running Cookie Run and uh, they run the.
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: Big network they like. Josh knows about that place because
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: they run the big net runner stuff there, do they? Yeah,
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: it's called Old Guard games Man. Yeah, man, it's the
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: Old Guard they like all that.
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: I had never heard of this place before they had
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: contacted me. I didn't even know they were a play
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: they were a store in Milwaukee.
- 1:38:26Speaker 4: Well then their advertising must not have been very good
- 1:38:28Speaker 4: because I knew about them.
- 1:38:30Speaker 3: I've never heard of them before until but they're.
- 1:38:32Speaker 4: They're a TCG shop, so yeah, they weren't going to
- 1:38:36Speaker 4: do there.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: Actually a they're more of a miniature shop. But that's
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: like Battle Brothers, right, because Battle Brothers used to be
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: only only miniatures and now they're a little bit of.
- 1:38:51Speaker 4: Everything, and then they're like, we need to actually sell something.
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: We need to make some money, So.
- 1:38:56Speaker 4: Okay, what else we have to talk about? Your on
- 1:39:00Speaker 4: a happy list?
- 1:39:01Speaker 5: E wok no I Again, I finished with the positive.
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: I thought that Gigi did a really nice job being
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: able to go ahead and use discovery to grab some attention.
- 1:39:13Speaker 5: I hope that they build on it.
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: But I like that idea. I felt that cc I
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: can't find our numbers right now. But they were holding
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: sealed events for PV. They were going ahead and ran
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: the Crucible Clash events, and they had demos going and
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: those seemed to be drawing in people who didn't all
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: know about key Forge. Again, so we don't have just
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: the same people coming in.
- 1:39:38Speaker 4: I appreciate the truth here though with Echoes is for
- 1:39:42Speaker 4: key Forge. If Echos does good, that will be a
- 1:39:48Speaker 4: significant boom for key Forge.
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: One hundred percent.
- 1:39:53Speaker 4: But if all those stars, if a bunch of stores
- 1:39:57Speaker 4: want Echoes and they start signing up for g accounts
- 1:40:00Speaker 4: because they want to get Echo stuff, then they're automatically
- 1:40:04Speaker 4: signed into the Keyboard stuff and they're whole like, eh,
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: we didn't want to really deal with key Forge. We
- 1:40:10Speaker 4: know we had a couple of players, and you know
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: it's like, oh, I'm already ordering ten thousand dollars of echos,
- 1:40:14Speaker 4: so ordering one thousand dollars a key Forge because we
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: have some stuff. And then FFG or f FGGG gets
- 1:40:23Speaker 4: to play the cross promotion thing where they're like, hey,
- 1:40:27Speaker 4: you know, like order this and get some keyfards. You
- 1:40:30Speaker 4: can't sell for cheap or free. Like they can do
- 1:40:34Speaker 4: that kind of cross promotional stuff, but they need that,
- 1:40:40Speaker 4: they need that access into the store. That isn't the
- 1:40:43Speaker 4: already slightly poisoned well that is key Forge for some stores.
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: I hear, I hear slops. It's probably bad for us,
- 1:40:53Speaker 3: right because then they've lost money again.
- 1:40:57Speaker 4: Yeah. That then like, well that's that's if Omens flops.
- 1:41:02Speaker 4: That's yeah, that's yeah.
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: Like but that is a higher probability with the amount
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: of games coming out right now and with their because
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: flop is you know, like high probability. That's where most
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: games are coming. Yeah, Like if the game does if
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: the game does flesh and Blood good or altered good
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: or lor Kana good, yeah, that's that would be huge success. Yeah,
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: even if it does one piece good, right, I.
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: Mean, like any level of good would be good for us, right.
- 1:41:46Speaker 4: You know what what killed what killed Key Forge is
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: its own excessive success immediately and you know, like them
- 1:41:58Speaker 4: not being prepared for that level of success, right, that's
- 1:42:04Speaker 4: that hurt Key Forge a lot in its stores overcompensated
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: by over ordering a la right, Like, like both these
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: things happen and then the game, you know, like because
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: product wasn't there and what and you know, the zeitgeist
- 1:42:26Speaker 4: of the game got lost a lot quicker due to
- 1:42:33Speaker 4: the distribution issues, I think because like even op at
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: stores didn't hardly exist because it was like there's nothing
- 1:42:38Speaker 4: to buy. So yeah, like I I don't see that
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: being a problem with Ghost Galaxy because they print in house,
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: so their ability to as long as they buy enough packaging,
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: their ability to print to demand should be better than
- 1:42:59Speaker 4: it ever us with it ever was with f f G.
- 1:43:06Speaker 4: The other end of that, though, is g G still
- 1:43:11Speaker 4: with that printer, and if they're going to print all
- 1:43:13Speaker 4: the cards in the house, could actually hit a limiting
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: factor where the game is more successful than their printer
- 1:43:19Speaker 4: can support.
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: And you can't you know, like it's which we don't need.
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be printing to the level that they
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: did that, it could we don't need anymore because this
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: is this is doing right, Like.
- 1:43:41Speaker 4: Yeah, well but that could. That's because their ability to
- 1:43:50Speaker 4: and maybe maybe they're doing better business planning than they
- 1:43:53Speaker 4: were before, and they already have backup contract printing considered,
- 1:44:02Speaker 4: because like if they all of a sudden can't print, yeah,
- 1:44:05Speaker 4: if they couldn't keep up with the print in house,
- 1:44:08Speaker 4: that would kill that game too, right where if it's
- 1:44:11Speaker 4: like everybody wants it and only a little bit is
- 1:44:14Speaker 4: getting released, because that's all that's actually that's you know,
- 1:44:17Speaker 4: like that's all there can be printed.
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: I'm gonna stick with humans are creatures of habit. And
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: we see that GG is a very conservative group. They
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: have not gone out on their own to market. They've
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: left it to Game found. So it's a very insular group.
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: Some people will some people will see it. But with
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: the amount of games coming out on game found and
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: Kickstarter and frankly just the amount of board games that
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: are in competition, let alone CCG's tcg's all of that,
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: I just see that it's going to fall flat. And
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: that is from the information that I can see from GG,
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: which is said.
- 1:44:58Speaker 4: Definitely the wrong person to make that judgment call because
- 1:45:02Speaker 4: I'm not interested in the game in the slightest anyways.
- 1:45:07Speaker 5: We will see soon enough.
- 1:45:09Speaker 4: I know there is nothing that they said there that
- 1:45:12Speaker 4: has made me want to consider looking at the game, right,
- 1:45:18Speaker 4: But I'm not the core target audience anyways.
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: I mean it's a CCG, right, that's not really where
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: I'm at.
- 1:45:26Speaker 4: Yes, so yes, So for JR. It's got to be
- 1:45:31Speaker 4: what a I mean, it seems like you like to
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: look at the games that have the ips are the
- 1:45:39Speaker 4: themes you like, generic Fantasy not being one for you
- 1:45:43Speaker 4: in general, And then Wookie ill look at any card game.
- 1:45:51Speaker 4: This is true. Doesn't mean you play it, but you'll
- 1:45:54Speaker 4: look at any card game.
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: I will.
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: I'm typically more into board games even right here. What's
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: in front of me right now is stone Meyer's advantage.
- 1:46:03Speaker 5: I enjoy.
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: It is sitting right here trying to wait. I don't
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: consider so low kind of just play through. It looks phenomenal,
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: very different perspective. So you gain someone's interest and excitement
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: by having a new product. Gigi does well with that,
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: but you got to be able to follow through and
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: not just have your name Carrie what the game is,
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: so you can get someone in you got to be
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: able to pull them past that point.
- 1:46:29Speaker 4: Yep, yeah, it'll be It'll be interesting to see what
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: they do with that because I mean, my my theory
- 1:46:36Speaker 4: now on key Forage is the cost to benefit ratio
- 1:46:42Speaker 4: is too low for them to whoever makes the decision
- 1:46:47Speaker 4: to do those investments, and it'll be interesting to see
- 1:46:53Speaker 4: how fast that calculation kills echo of omen stuff happening.
- 1:47:01Speaker 4: But that game isn't coming from the pre poisoned FFG.
- 1:47:04Speaker 4: Well so they they're they're working with completely different math.
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: There, so no, but I mean, the short the short
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: answer is that CTP and GG went ahead and caught
- 1:47:15Speaker 2: that knife, and yes we've gotten skinned a bit, However
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: we're still here. You have a very good core group
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: that has been able to produce larger events a World Championship,
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: which FFG was not able to do, and they have
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: a summer event. So there are some things that we
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: can build on. But why go ahead and poison I mean,
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: I get we have to have other games, but.
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: I see this is like like from some very basic metrics,
- 1:47:49Speaker 4: it would seem that what they have done with key
- 1:47:52Speaker 4: forge is fine, like it's still moving. However, x amount
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: of product with this amount investment. Why why why spend
- 1:48:05Speaker 4: for low return when they're expecting that that same amount
- 1:48:08Speaker 4: of spend on echoes is going to give them more return.
- 1:48:13Speaker 3: Certainly has more upside, right, there's there's more, there is.
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: The ceiling over there is higher. I can agree with that.
- 1:48:23Speaker 4: The floor is also lower, right, but true, yeah, yeah,
- 1:48:27Speaker 4: I mean. And that's the thing with key Forge. It's like,
- 1:48:30Speaker 4: we safely spend this amount of money and we safely
- 1:48:33Speaker 4: get this amount back. That's pretty good. And they're like, yes,
- 1:48:36Speaker 4: we could spend this amount and we could increase this
- 1:48:39Speaker 4: by an on knowing number. The few things that we
- 1:48:42Speaker 4: have tried haven't worked, so they you know, it makes them.
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: Hesitate to to do lots of lots of try lots of.
- 1:48:54Speaker 4: Other things when they have a different basket to put
- 1:48:56Speaker 4: their aids in.
- 1:48:59Speaker 2: Well, they next year will be very interesting and telling.
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: I will say that, yes, that's every year.
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: So check out our Echoes and Omens podcast Altered Altered Omens.
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: Altered Omens of Candy run.
- 1:49:21Speaker 4: You would like the rules here are if you would
- 1:49:24Speaker 4: like to talk about echoes of cheeseburgers or whatever the
- 1:49:27Speaker 4: hell that is. There are some channels lowered down here.
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: Them did you really make channels for them?
- 1:49:38Speaker 4: Now you already have altered channels. You can talk about
- 1:49:41Speaker 4: echoes of omen there because I have them all muted.
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and we know it's all about cheap whatever he
- 1:49:49Speaker 2: wants whatever.
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: I'm not telling you you can't talk about it. I'm
- 1:49:55Speaker 4: just saying, do it in a place where people who
- 1:49:57Speaker 4: are open to the ideas.
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: Do it at a place where you got it. Thanks, yes,
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: please got it, or.
- 1:50:07Speaker 4: Be prepared for me to talk shit. So that'll probably
- 1:50:10Speaker 4: just bring people here.
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: Right, People like when you talk shit, So I don't
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: really understand how you figure, like, maybe just ignore it
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: and don't go into those channels. Never Mind, that was
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: a dumb thing to say. You're gonna definitely to go
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: into those chairs and talk shit anyways. So but that's
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: gonna do it for us this week. I don't think
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: we really had much else to talk about. Go to
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: your local game store, playing an event, play key Forge, play.
- 1:50:36Speaker 5: Sealed, enjoy the people you're with.
- 1:50:38Speaker 3: Everything else really ain't worth it.
- 1:50:40Speaker 4: I mean, play Keyford. I don't know if you can
- 1:50:45Speaker 4: find a friend and you guys can agree on power
- 1:50:49Speaker 4: level or expectations.
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: Mine's definitely and what the.
- 1:50:52Speaker 4: Existing key Forge dex is fine. You could even make
- 1:50:55Speaker 4: the game less fun by playing it with Adaptive. What
- 1:51:00Speaker 4: you can make We don't use that a word over here. Okay,
- 1:51:04Speaker 4: people people use that word all the time. No, No,
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: those are very sloppy people.
- 1:51:10Speaker 5: We're not.
- 1:51:11Speaker 4: We're not.
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: I mean I so to be fair, I think quick
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: draw was correct that there were more games of Adaptive
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: played to Baltimore than Alliance. So I didn't see playing adaptive.
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: That's a very low bar.
- 1:51:25Speaker 5: But sure, okay, yes, yes.
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: You don't know how many games of Adaptive were played
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: in uh in Roseville.
- 1:51:41Speaker 3: There wasn't many games played in Roosevelt.
- 1:51:43Speaker 4: All zero more other games played than KeyForge.
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: Yes, there, but there is zero adaptive games, which is
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: the more important number.
- 1:51:53Speaker 4: There were also Shutter games, So it says we kind.
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: Of failed on Shutter this year. We haven't given it the.
- 1:52:02Speaker 4: Well the respect. You know why that is because we
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: can't even be bothered to keep bad decks, to shred them.
- 1:52:08Speaker 4: We just we get rid of them, even even before
- 1:52:14Speaker 4: we've scanned them. These days, we're trying to get rid
- 1:52:16Speaker 4: of them like we don't.
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: Keep because I don't want to look at it. I
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: don't want to look at my ninety one SaaS PV
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: deck that definitely is not a ninety one SaaS PV
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: deck because I'm tired of a sassage.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: General is just fucked lately, Like I don't know what's
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: going on with it, but they need TV. I mean
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: this set in particular, is this.
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: Set, this set, the last set, the set before it,
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: Like SAS just does not. They were better, God, this
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: has been since whoa SAS just does not know? Well,
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: actually it was a lot better than WHOA WHOA whoa?
- 1:52:54Speaker 4: Was it too bad?
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: Gr was pretty fine. Gr was at its flaws.
- 1:53:01Speaker 4: But well every sets always every TV, PV and amber
- 1:53:07Speaker 4: Skys are two of that seem bad. And amber Sky
- 1:53:10Speaker 4: still doesn't seem like it catches house icons correctly. And
- 1:53:14Speaker 4: then p PV it's like a random number. Yeah, Like
- 1:53:20Speaker 4: there are cards that are like valued at six or
- 1:53:23Speaker 4: seven in PV where the equivalent card from a previous
- 1:53:25Speaker 4: set was it two? And you're like why, Yeah, I
- 1:53:31Speaker 4: don't understand that. I don't know. We can't, but we're
- 1:53:35Speaker 4: not here to fix SaaS.
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: We're here to fix SaaS. That's why we have the
