- 0:00Speaker 1: It's the Mark Simone Show, live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Let's take some calls. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 0:11Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 0:12Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark.
- 0:13Speaker 4: I'm doing very well, thank you. Mark, I saw a
- 0:16Speaker 4: report that said in a recent meeting with Putin, U.S.
- 0:21Speaker 4: Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner uh, were in
- 0:26Speaker 4: this meeting and Kushner was way too aggressive with Putin.
- 0:30Speaker 4: They said he's not going to be used in the
- 0:33Speaker 4: next round of talks because with cough is much more
- 0:36Speaker 4: of a diplomat. The excuse is, uh, Kushner is ill.
- 0:40Speaker 2: No, Kushner is not ill, but I know what you mean.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It's a good question, Dave. Uh, yeah. And apparently in
- 0:45Speaker 2: the meeting, Witkoff said, listen, we want to have a
- 0:47Speaker 2: trilateral meeting and we think it would be good. And
- 0:49Speaker 2: Kushner jumped in and said, so, uh, yeah, I, I, uh, uh,
- 0:57Speaker 2: A lot of negotiators could use State Department as career
- 1:00Speaker 2: foreign service. The problem is you can't trust them. They're
- 1:02Speaker 2: a bunch of bureaucrats with briefing books. These are two
- 1:06Speaker 2: highly experienced negotiators, Witkoff and Kushner, and obviously Trump totally
- 1:11Speaker 2: trusts them. They're family. The only problem is they're used
- 1:17Speaker 2: to negotiating business deals, real estate deals. The thing is
- 1:21Speaker 2: when you're negotiating with business people or real estate, no
- 1:23Speaker 2: matter how crazy evil they are, they're business people in
- 1:26Speaker 2: the end you can find whatever they want money whatever
- 1:31Speaker 2: give them something to deal none of this works when
- 1:34Speaker 2: you're dealing with absolute lunatics like rainy and crazy ayatollahs
- 1:39Speaker 2: or evil lunatic Putin type so that's the problem but
- 1:46Speaker 2: they've actually gotten farther than anybody else has so far
- 1:49Speaker 2: so we'll see what happens let's go to let's go
- 1:52Speaker 2: to Kevin in Nanuet Kevin how you doing Good.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Morning, Mark.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Do you think Trump has a surprise for us in
- 2:00Speaker 2: Iran before Election Day? No, I think after Election Day.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Election Day is only 12 days away. 12 days away.
- 2:09Speaker 2: So whatever happens, if they win big, the Republicans, the
- 2:13Speaker 2: next day we're going to just wipe out everything in Iran.
- 2:17Speaker 2: If they lose big, we're going to wipe out everything
- 2:20Speaker 2: in Iran. Netanyahu, Trump are talking now. Pentagon has been told.
- 2:25Speaker 2: to put together the target packages. They have said they
- 2:28Speaker 2: will use the Moab, which is the single biggest bomb
- 2:32Speaker 2: we have, outside of a nuclear bomb, and they will
- 2:36Speaker 2: wipe out once and for all, finish the job in Iran.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Let's go to Jerry in New Jersey. Jerry, how are
- 2:43Speaker 2: you doing?
- 2:45Speaker 3: Fine, Mark. How are you?
- 2:47Speaker 2: Let me check. Good.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Listen, you know that ad you came out with That says,
- 2:56Speaker 3: what's better than two hours of March Simone?
- 3:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:01Speaker 3: It's three hours.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Right.
- 3:05Speaker 3: That three hours turns into, if you add it up,
- 3:09Speaker 3: all commercials. Don't even get much of you.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I don't know. If you listen to the podcast, they
- 3:17Speaker 2: take out all the commercials, and the hour is still
- 3:20Speaker 2: like 47 minutes, so. It's not mostly commercials.
- 3:23Speaker 3: All right.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You sound like a guy from a 1940s movie. I
- 3:28Speaker 2: could see you talking to James Cagney.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I was born in 1940s.
- 3:32Speaker 2: No, I could see you saying to Cagney, now see here,
- 3:34Speaker 2: you mugs.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Pardon me?
- 3:37Speaker 2: I said, you sound great. We really love talking to you.
- 3:40Speaker 4: Oh, right.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I'm 86.
- 3:41Speaker 2: We can tell. All right.
- 3:43Speaker 3: One more question.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 3:44Speaker 3: If you don't mind.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Go ahead. Who's going to stop you? Take your time.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Sometimes during the week, you start off at 9 a.m., right?
- 3:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I heard.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Before the day's over, you're an hour back.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Wait, say that again? Before the day's over what?
- 4:05Speaker 3: Before your day is over, you're an hour late.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's true. Thank you. I don't know what
- 4:13Speaker 2: the hell he said. Do you know what he just meant?
- 4:14Speaker 2: I don't know what he said. Let's go to Greg
- 4:17Speaker 2: in Long Island. Greg, how you doing?
- 4:20Speaker 1: He sounded like Walter Brennan, who you're thinking of.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Ah, there you go, the real McCoys.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Luke!
- 4:26Speaker 1: Anyway, I wanted to talk about this decision that the
- 4:31Speaker 1: city council is about to make regarding the horse-drawn carriages.
- 4:34Speaker 1: And I used to be in the legislative body out
- 4:37Speaker 1: here in Suffolk County, and I think compromise is what's
- 4:40Speaker 1: called for. And what I wanted to suggest is that
- 4:43Speaker 1: they don't eliminate them. They cut down the number of
- 4:46Speaker 1: carriages and cut down the number of horses and build
- 4:49Speaker 1: a state-of-the-art stable with some pasture area for the horses,
- 4:55Speaker 1: and keep a traditional live, just make it smaller and
- 4:59Speaker 1: more humane.
- 4:59Speaker 2: The problem is that's logical. It's common sense. It's not
- 5:02Speaker 2: city council New York type stuff. That is the right answer. Yeah,
- 5:06Speaker 2: create a nice little place. You have five or six horses,
- 5:09Speaker 2: and that's it. That's a good.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it would keep a tradition alive, and if it
- 5:13Speaker 1: really gains popularity, it can slightly expand again.
- 5:16Speaker 2: You're absolutely right. Common sense, very logical solution. The city council, unfortunately,
- 5:21Speaker 2: is a bunch of crazy idiots. They're not going to
- 5:23Speaker 2: do that. Let's go... Oh, Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how
- 5:26Speaker 2: you doing?
- 5:27Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark. Mark, as regards this detective who put
- 5:31Speaker 5: a cap into the other driver on the George Washington Bridge...
- 5:36Speaker 5: Most cops and most detectives are straight arrows. They're not
- 5:39Speaker 5: like this maniac detective. That being said, believe you me, Mark,
- 5:45Speaker 5: I know more crooked cops, more crooked detectives. There's even
- 5:50Speaker 5: a friend of mine who was a detective who the
- 5:54Speaker 5: authorities say he was feeding information about so-called mob activity
- 6:01Speaker 5: to the so-called mob.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Well, listen, there's always the case. You've got the 35,000 cops.
- 6:06Speaker 2: You're going to have a handful of crooked ones. Yeah.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Mark, I'm going to play your snack food policeman yesterday. Yesterday,
- 6:14Speaker 5: a woman called, and she mistakenly called potato chips health food.
- 6:20Speaker 5: She should have said natural food, because yesterday when I
- 6:23Speaker 5: went shopping— The potato chips that have all the garbage
- 6:28Speaker 5: that you cited in them are the flavored potato chips,
- 6:32Speaker 5: like the cheddar cheese chips, the barbecue chips, the onions
- 6:39Speaker 5: and sour cream chips.
- 6:40Speaker 2: But even normal, unflavored potato chips.
- 6:42Speaker 5: No, Mark. The unflavored potato chips. I'm telling you.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I should point out, there are healthy brands you can
- 6:48Speaker 2: buy where it's just potatoes, salt, and oil.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 6:50Speaker 1: But.
- 6:51Speaker 2: The big, big, big names have a lot of preservatives
- 6:55Speaker 2: and chemicals in them.
- 6:56Speaker 5: You're right, Mark, because I had to watch my salt
- 7:00Speaker 5: intake because I thought I had high blood pressure.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Hey, Vincent, there's an app called Yucca, Y-U-C-A, the Yucca app.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Whenever you're in the store, point the camera at the
- 7:14Speaker 2: barcode on the product. It'll tell you exactly how healthy
- 7:17Speaker 2: it is on a scale of 1 to 100.
- 7:19Speaker 5: Yucca. That's really good to know. All right, Vincent, we've.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Got to go. But everybody get that app, Y-U-K-A, Yucca, Y-U-K-A.
- 7:27Speaker 2: It's amazing. It'll fix all your problems with that stuff. Hey,
- 7:33Speaker 2: we'll talk to Jimmy Fallon, the great comedian Jimmy Fallon,
- 7:36Speaker 2: next on 710WOR.
