Blank Park Zoo Welcomes New Giraffe | Des Moines News
A baby giraffe has just arrived at Blank Park Zoo — a female reticulated giraffe born on August 17th, just after 8 AM — and another is on the way! Mom Skye and dad Jakobi are part of a vital species survival program, and the zoo is keeping the newborn and her mom behind the scenes to bond. The public can even help choose the calf’s name at the Iowa State Fair, Kid Find Headquarters, or online.
