- 0:00I'm Alexandra. I am Lynn.
- 0:02I'm Rose. And this is Sid Happens.
- 0:05We wanted to just give you a heads up.
- 0:07This podcast is all for fun and entertainment.
- 0:10We are sharing our own thoughts and stories, not professional
- 0:14advice. So relax, enjoy and don't take
- 0:17us too seriously. Let's get this started.
- 0:19Welcome to Sid happens. What's in your cup today?
- 0:23In my cup you gave me a can of Wiccan group apple pie, hard
- 0:28cider, and it's very, very interesting.
- 0:32Interesting how? It is like an apple pie and that
- 0:35in a drink is just feels weird. It's interesting.
- 0:39I'm not sure if I like it yet. It's kind of spiced.
- 0:42Yeah, well, I have the green apple and let me tell you, it's.
- 0:45Smooth, I'm happy. Would.
- 0:50You like me to change it? We can.
- 0:51Switch it up now, I'm sure I'm still trying it.
- 0:55At any point you don't want it. Because it's not like a beer,
- 0:58right? The.
- 0:59It's a cider. It is a cider.
- 1:00I don't, I really don't know what cider means to be honest,
- 1:03but I I have Heineken because I don't think the cider just
- 1:08doesn't doesn't go well. But if you like beer, it's very
- 1:13different. So cider and beers are a little
- 1:15different. What is cider?
- 1:17Apple juice that gets fermented too long and gets boozy.
- 1:22OK, cider. Cider.
- 1:24So basically going to similar processing with the yeast and
- 1:29all that fun stuff. But yes, the fermentation
- 1:31process of apple juice. And usually.
- 1:35It's gluten free, so in my gluten free era this was way to
- 1:38go. Any alcohol?
- 1:39Yes, yes, you're still getting the alcohol and your Heineken is
- 1:43not. Not this.
- 1:45We That was a long conversation about objects tonight.
- 1:48I love it. Well, let's talk about the
- 1:53season, guys. I am excited.
- 2:01Excitement in this podcast. Very different.
- 2:06I told you, I'm like, it's coming.
- 2:07My time just fine is here, guys. I'm super excited.
- 2:11I'm surprised your house is not a winter Wonderland.
- 2:14So. You don't let her.
- 2:16Thank. You, that's exactly what
- 2:17happens. We do have the music every now
- 2:20and then, but if hubby says go because we're, we're definitely
- 2:24believing like every holiday needs to be celebrated.
- 2:27So you know, the Thanksgiving and then the next day, it's fair
- 2:30game. Now we may be travelling.
- 2:32I'm not saying we may not be all decked out in outfits, but you
- 2:35know there will be signs I. Think I love this the most of
- 2:40having those Christmas pajamas and having the family matching
- 2:47pajamas. I love those the kids don't want
- 2:50to do. That anymore?
- 2:53Is. This what happens when you're a
- 2:55teenager. They don't do the corny ones
- 2:58anymore. The only thing I can persuade
- 3:00them to is like the checkered ones.
- 3:03You know the. Traditional.
- 3:05Yeah, that's like. OK, that's fine.
- 3:08We will. We will wear that.
- 3:09But now, no more Mickey Mouse. All the fun stuff.
- 3:14Or you know, anything like that. Even Chloe.
- 3:19Chloe, I think, would still do it, but it's not like something
- 3:24that she gets excited about. Me and my husband's never been
- 3:26excited about the matching stuff anyway.
- 3:29My husband grew into that a little bit, I think after Thiago
- 3:33and I was going to tell you my bestie in Arkansas, she wants to
- 3:37decorate as soon as November hits in and her husband was also
- 3:40hard now. Yeah, but every year.
- 3:43She pulls it. Just to see how.
- 3:47Far we'll go he did get approval right, but she's just been
- 3:49pushing it so just. Say my husband and I, we were in
- 3:54agreement. OK, before kids, like everything
- 3:56needs to be celebrated Thanksgiving and then we're
- 3:59ready, right? And then we bought our house and
- 4:02that's when actually all whole family tradition started.
- 4:05The whole PJ thing. That's not something I grew up
- 4:07with, like matching PJS. And I was like, Oh my gosh,
- 4:10you're wearing matching PJS. Let's start taking pictures.
- 4:13Then we will dress up pooch as well, my dog.
- 4:15So now we have kids and it's becoming this tradition every
- 4:19year, which I love. And we're like, OK, we're all
- 4:22wearing matching PJS to open our guests.
- 4:24It's a thing. But right now, my little one,
- 4:28he's into music and the songs, the trends and stuff that's
- 4:31happening. And I think that's why this year
- 4:34I'm kind of trying to see if we could start maybe Christmas
- 4:37early. Yeah, no, he's not watching.
- 4:39He's like, no, he's not there yet.
- 4:41It's fine, but we'll listen to music.
- 4:43The funny thing that I have to giggle about is you love
- 4:47Christmas so much, but she hates Christmas sweaters even a thing.
- 4:54They look so ugly. I get it.
- 4:56It's an ugly sweater. What is this?
- 4:59Sweater. When did that become a?
- 5:00What is? Why is that a thing?
- 5:02I don't like to see. I love her.
- 5:05I have, she loves. It.
- 5:06I love. It I have to borrow it from her.
- 5:10My husband's aunt, that's a really ugly sweater party and
- 5:13I'm looking at this why? And I'm like, I don't want to
- 5:16study. Exactly. $30.
- 5:18Per Ugly Sweater. That's why I get my welcome
- 5:22sweaters at the end of the season when there are like 5 to
- 5:26$10 like last year. I think I even showed Alexandra
- 5:32some pictures. I'm like, look what I found for
- 5:34five. Bucks and it's like.
- 5:36It is Santa Claus with a surfboard.
- 5:39Come on. I do like those.
- 5:41Decapes that I've seen in Florida with Santa.
- 5:44It is short and cute flip flops. So cute.
- 5:47I get it. But, you know, after you told me
- 5:49this last year because I didn't realize how much she loves ugly
- 5:53sweaters, OK. I mean, she was like, I have 20
- 5:56you can borrow. And so I decided after Christmas
- 6:00to go shopping, and I still wouldn't spend $5.00.
- 6:03But I didn't buy a sweater that says Mary on it with different
- 6:08colors. And I was like, what about this
- 6:09in her face? It was like this beige color.
- 6:12I'm like $5 and she was just like, that does not count what
- 6:16it's not. Ugly.
- 6:17Ugly. It's not.
- 6:19Ugly. It's not ugly.
- 6:20It's not. Parenting their own rules.
- 6:22It needs to be corny and it could be ugly.
- 6:25It needs if it has some glitter or the.
- 6:29How do you call those things? Oh, like good stencil.
- 6:32Not yet that too, but the the the pebbles.
- 6:35They are like, where's the rhinestone?
- 6:37Thingies that too, but. It just gets uglier.
- 6:44My goodness, I can't even think of the name of it.
- 6:47They look like circles, and they have their shine and their.
- 6:52I know it in Spanish, it's. Yeah, that.
- 6:58I'm not into ugly sweater, so I don't learn all the words and
- 7:02stuff. I have no idea.
- 7:03Oh. My God, sorry, I can't.
- 7:05People wear for New Year's. Yes.
- 7:07Like you move and it's yes and the color changes a little bit
- 7:12like mermaid sequences and if it lights up and sinks.
- 7:22Like, it's the uglier the better.
- 7:23Yeah. We don't have ugly sweaters.
- 7:25I will tell you that. Wow.
- 7:26We make effort. I met you, Lynn.
- 7:28I didn't. I didn't understand the depth of
- 7:31appreciating ugly sweater because you're at a next level.
- 7:35And I'm like, this is all you, my friend.
- 7:37I think I know where it came from from my side.
- 7:41I don't know if you remember Bridget Jones Diary.
- 7:44Yes. Have you watched it?
- 7:47What? How have you know my I just
- 7:52didn't. Remember, because I what was.
- 7:54His name? Mr. Oh my God, it's not Darby.
- 7:59Darcy, Darcy, Darcy. I'm darn sure I watched it.
- 8:03So she meets this guy at a Was it a Christmas dinner?
- 8:09It's a dinner party. Was it Christmas dinner?
- 8:11Christmas. Party, I feel like we have to
- 8:13play this. We have to watch this movie now.
- 8:15There are multiple one, but like the the first one is when Mr.
- 8:21Darcy was wearing his, I think his mom.
- 8:24So yeah, I think that's where I think that's where it came from
- 8:28on my side. It was just such a big
- 8:32impression on that ugly shirt. That kind of start, you know,
- 8:37it's grows on you. That's cute.
- 8:40That's. Courage of ugliness.
- 8:43And it's just kind of liberating because like you guys probably
- 8:49did growing up, Christmas, you had to wear.
- 8:51The you know the. Prettiest dress had to have your
- 8:55hair nice, yes, you know, polished shoes and all the
- 9:00things. And I think it was just such a
- 9:02liberating thought to me that you can just put on a sweater.
- 9:07And some jeans. Look like a mess and you are
- 9:10dressed for the occasion. OK, yeah, it's not having to
- 9:13dress up which needs. To be about like.
- 9:16Not feeling that pressure yeah for the holidays got but yes
- 9:20when I was little you had to dress up with the.
- 9:22Yes, it was the whole thing. The poofy dress.
- 9:25Your hair is done. Yeah, that.
- 9:27Yeah. And you look your best.
- 9:28And the socks with the little yeah.
- 9:31The ruffle, yeah. Plenty of photos I will try to
- 9:35bring, I'm from Puerto Rico. Please I have some too.
- 9:38I have some and we always have ribbons like those huge ribbon.
- 9:41All all those things. I loved it when I was little, by
- 9:44the way, because my sister-in-law took care of me
- 9:46while my mom was in the hospital sometime and she had to call my
- 9:49dad because I wanted to wear a dress that was meant for like a
- 9:53festive occasion to school in kindergarten.
- 9:56So apparently I loved it. So I guess we talked about
- 10:01matching PJ's ugly sweaters. Ugly.
- 10:04Sweaters. The next question for me would
- 10:06be what's your most Christmas meal?
- 10:11Not as an adult, but as a kid? Do you recall that last
- 10:14Christmas that you were like, I will forever?
- 10:17Remember that? I wouldn't say that I remember a
- 10:21specific Christmas, but what I do remember growing up in
- 10:26Germany is that we didn't have Santa Claus coming on Christmas
- 10:32Eve. We had a day for Santa Claus,
- 10:35Saint Nicholas Day, Nicolaus Talk and we had Christmas and it
- 10:40was when the Christ child cuskind brought the present.
- 10:45So we had two different days to celebrate and Saint Nick's Day
- 10:50was the night of the 5th to the 6th.
- 10:54You had to Polish your shoes in the night time of the 5th and
- 10:58then you had to put it outside of your door.
- 11:00I'm sorry, December 5th. Yes.
- 11:03That's early. 5th to 6th, yeah, OK.
- 11:05The night from the 5th to the 6th.
- 11:08Got it. Yes.
- 11:09Please share it because I don't know.
- 11:11Polish your shoes. You put your shoes outside the
- 11:14door and if you were good you will get little goodies.
- 11:18Only things that fit in your shoes.
- 11:20Nothing ridiculous like, you know, stuff like that.
- 11:24Usually there are some nuts in there.
- 11:26Oranges, some chocolate, like a crisp, like a chocolate Santa
- 11:31Claus. Just little Knick knack things
- 11:34that fit in a shoe or a boot. OK.
- 11:37And if you've been bad, there will be a lump of coal.
- 11:41What a legit lump of coal. Lump of coal?
- 11:44Legit lumps of coal. I've heard about it before.
- 11:47I've never gotten. A.
- 11:48Because you were. So that was Saint Nick's Day and
- 11:54then Christmas we would celebrate the 24th, midnight,
- 12:00midnight Mass. The 24th was bigger than the
- 12:0325th. Like in Germany you celebrate
- 12:07Christmas Eve and then the next two days is like when you visit
- 12:11France from all. Same for us.
- 12:14That was going to be my next question.
- 12:15When do you actually celebrate? For us, the 24th is the big
- 12:19event. The day parties.
- 12:20All of that the opening gifts and I grew up with in the
- 12:23church. So we all because that service
- 12:26you know throughout the night and all of that.
- 12:27The 25th is when you go visit family and friends and all you
- 12:32have people coming over but all the festivities.
- 12:34Happen on the 20. 4th, 24th was like the special day.
- 12:37That's when you open the presents, that's when you have
- 12:40the fees. And it was in Germany, baby
- 12:43Jesus that was giving the presents, not Santa Claus.
- 12:46Santa Claus had his own day. And of course, you know, over
- 12:49the years got very Americanized, even injured.
- 12:54So things are getting wishy washed now.
- 12:56But growing up, and I'm going to date myself, it's like 30 years
- 13:00ago, that's how it was. Like you had Saint Nick coming
- 13:04on the night of the 6th and then you had baby Jesus giving you
- 13:10the presents on, you know, on a March here, the night time
- 13:16evening mass. How did you celebrate Rosie?
- 13:20I think it was. Perfect that she was asking
- 13:22about when, because that was my memory.
- 13:26I have very vague memories of when I was like really little.
- 13:29But I do have a core memory when we moved from Chicago to Puerto
- 13:33Rico because in Chicago it was festive on the 20th.
- 13:37Usually my mom would host that dinner if it was kind of like a
- 13:40potluck. People would bring food.
- 13:42Everybody has dinner. And we waited until midnight.
- 13:44And then we all kind of sat in the living room and everybody
- 13:47just gifting, giving their gifts.
- 13:49That's Santa because it was mostly Santa have given to like
- 13:55Alex and oh, this is what Santa left Alex for you and all of
- 13:59that. So and I do also remember a
- 14:02photo where I had like the whole couch was just no toys.
- 14:06So I remember I got rainbow dry that big memory.
- 14:10But then we moved to Puerto Rico when I was what?
- 14:14And then there was no decoration, but there was no
- 14:18Christmas tree. People talked about Christmas,
- 14:21but there wasn't like a big commotion.
- 14:24And they didn't do anything on the 20.
- 14:26It was on the 25th. And most people didn't really
- 14:30gift anything. They just did the dinner.
- 14:32And then I remember having an on or two that gave me gifts, but
- 14:36mostly it was my parents. So it was so different that I
- 14:39was, especially since I was 12, took me out of Chicago right to
- 14:45Puerto Rico. That did not help.
- 14:46No, I didn't. Like me.
- 14:49Like I don't like this at all. There are no gifts.
- 14:52Did not like it at all. Yeah.
- 14:54And that just kept being the same way.
- 14:56It was always like on the 25th, we would get together.
- 14:58Sometimes you'll get a gift, but I had nothing to look forward to
- 15:00because in Chicago it was so different.
- 15:02The holiday starts early. You see Christmas everywhere
- 15:06like decorations and the music at the stores that much of that
- 15:09in Puerto Rico. However, what threw me off in
- 15:12Puerto Rico was when I got gifts on the 6th of January because
- 15:17they celebrate 3 Kings Day. I never celebrated 3 Kings Day.
- 15:22I didn't even know what that was.
- 15:24Why? Because I didn't grow up going
- 15:25to church like we would only go maybe on Easter certain days.
- 15:30So I get this gift. I'm like what?
- 15:33Thank you, say. And I'm like, I don't know, you
- 15:36get gifts for that. Yeah, that's the first time I'm
- 15:39hearing that too, that you receive gifts.
- 15:42I mean, it makes sense if you think about it the.
- 15:44Thing 3. Kings 3.
- 15:45Kings. So I bring gifts to Jesus.
- 15:48Yeah. And then you, you know, that's
- 15:50this makes totally sense. But no, I've never.
- 15:52Heard of it, never received that but so anybody that wants to
- 15:54give us anything. Because the 6th.
- 15:56We'll take it. We'll make it happen.
- 15:58Let's add to that because I don't know if we're gonna
- 16:00continue the tradition because I, I didn't know anything about
- 16:03this, but it's a whole thing in Puerto Rico, you know, in the US
- 16:07typically, or I don't know if Germany and other countries, but
- 16:10you leave out cookies and milk for Santa for Santa, right?
- 16:133 kings. You leave out a glass of water
- 16:16and some like grass for the So you'll see people on the 5th
- 16:21taking their. Interesting you're.
- 16:24Going to put it in a little box and then in the middle of the
- 16:26night they will come and they will leave you here.
- 16:28But they were healthier than Santa.
- 16:33I kind of remember my last Christmas.
- 16:34I know my last Christmas, right. So I grew up in the church.
- 16:38Everything's celebrated. My mom loves to celebrate.
- 16:41My mom went through a party. We'll have kids.
- 16:44My mom loves kids. So we will always surrounded
- 16:46with kids and gifts and all of the things right.
- 16:49And then I will never forget. I go home to visit.
- 16:53It was I was in college. I was, yes, I was grown, but I
- 16:58still remember it. I went home to visit.
- 17:00My brothers are coming home. So it was all of us coming home.
- 17:03My parents just got a new house. We're excited.
- 17:06By the way, this is also before the earthwork happened.
- 17:09OK, so try to paint the picture here.
- 17:12I go home, we're excited. We got a new house.
- 17:15My brothers, actually, they each bought gift.
- 17:18We bought gifts. And my parents decide we're not
- 17:20having a tree. I'm like, what do you mean we
- 17:22don't have a tree? We need a Christmas tree.
- 17:25I also didn't grow up with a real tree.
- 17:27It's always been a fake. Tree always fake too.
- 17:30OK. And we decorate, we got the
- 17:31tinsel. I mean, it's probably maybe it's
- 17:34an ugly. Tree.
- 17:35The trees are uglier. All of this stuff, we can ever
- 17:40perfect the trees. It does not look like social
- 17:42media, I will tell you, but it was a tree.
- 17:46And when my, I remember my mom said this and we're like, OK,
- 17:49what's the expectation? Like, are we doing anything?
- 17:52And they're like, no, we're just going to have the gifts and we
- 17:54can open it. And I'm kind of like, OK,
- 17:56there's this one. I'm getting an envelope that if
- 17:59there's no gift, we're getting money, right?
- 18:02And I remember like we woke up. Everybody just kind of woke up.
- 18:04The excitement of waking up and seeing the tree, none of that
- 18:08happened. And I think it dawned on me
- 18:10like, Oh my goodness, we're grown.
- 18:12Like, OK, the kids are grown, we don't have to do this anymore.
- 18:14That's the that's the explanation they gave us.
- 18:17And I still remember because I remember like, wow, like we're
- 18:20going to have to figure this out.
- 18:21But by the time we already moved to the States, they were still
- 18:24home in Haiti. Their celebration definitely
- 18:26shifted. They still did things with the
- 18:28church. The church was decorated and
- 18:30stuff, but our house was not like we're like share exchanging
- 18:33gifts. And I remember my little
- 18:34brother. I forgot why he gifted me, but I
- 18:35was so excited like, oh, you know me, you know, I still got a
- 18:38gift and my my parents, yes, they ended up giving us an
- 18:42envelope, of course, and I was excited for that, but I vividly
- 18:45remembered there's no tree and that was sad for me.
- 18:50Therefore I come back and now I'm like we're.
- 18:52Happy Christmas every year. And now I have kids, I'm like,
- 18:55yes, everything should be celebrated.
- 18:57So in a nutshell, I feel like I'm carrying this tradition that
- 19:02my parents did growing up. Like what I've seen.
- 19:05I'm hoping to pass it to them because to them they don't, they
- 19:07still don't do it anymore. Now I have a two-story home.
- 19:10I'm like, we need to have a tree upstairs and downstairs.
- 19:13But I have Oliver who touches everything.
- 19:15And it started with pooch when I got pooch and I have to learn
- 19:19that he's going to touch all those balls.
- 19:21Like we had shattered balls everywhere because they kept
- 19:24like like a cat snatch ball. So I was like, OK, I survived
- 19:29that phase, and then Omari came and now we have Oliver.
- 19:32So the tree keeps moving, but it's happening.
- 19:34The agua hasn't been too messy with the tree, he is more now
- 19:37like he has spent one healthy decorating.
- 19:39He put in a a brook but when he was smaller he didn't pay too
- 19:43much attention. I was really surprised because
- 19:46my bestie that loves Christmas I told you about she had the baby
- 19:50gates around her tree for a few years because both of the kids
- 19:54wanted to touch, especially the second one.
- 19:56And it's so cute over the years. I know yours are very small
- 20:01still, but when they go to school and to kindergarten, they
- 20:06will make ornaments in school. And they still get up on our
- 20:12Christmas tree, no matter how ugly the star was that they cut
- 20:16out with their little fingers. With their little hand prints
- 20:20and all that. That's still all going.
- 20:23On the Christmas. Tree, yes, So you can look
- 20:26forward to selecting those. I just picked up my dogs from
- 20:30the groomer last week and I got from the groomer an ornament
- 20:34with both of the dogs fur. I don't know, I felt about that.
- 20:41Fur. Yes, I'm like.
- 20:43Trusting. I'm like, thank you, I.
- 20:48But it says to. Me 25 this.
- 20:50Took a turn. Actually, I was just thinking, I
- 20:54was expecting her to say like a photo, see that?
- 20:56I'm about to say that's so that's cool, no?
- 20:59I'm going to say that the bow or something.
- 21:02No the. Fur.
- 21:03No, the fur. I was not expecting.
- 21:05Collected both of them, so it's like a mix between the reddish
- 21:10and then the black and Gray in that mix together in that little
- 21:15ornaments. But interesting.
- 21:17It's something different. It's gonna get up on my
- 21:19Christmas tree OK. See, I thought the weirdest
- 21:24thing on my Christmas tree was 2020 with the mask, right,
- 21:28because we bought the ornament. But I think you topped it.
- 21:30You were my friend. Do you collect ornaments?
- 21:35Do you go buy ornaments like specifically every year?
- 21:39Like OK, we need a ornament for 2025 or do you make them?
- 21:43What's your ornament? Make them.
- 21:45No, I do not. I wouldn't say I'm consistent
- 21:49with it. So when we got married, I got us
- 21:51an ornament. When we bought our first house,
- 21:53I got us an ornament. Omari's first Christmas,
- 21:57Oliver's first Christmas, things like that.
- 21:59But this year, I don't know. We, so we usually do a family
- 22:02picture and that's where the matching PJ's thing because we
- 22:06started this tradition and now let's get pictures.
- 22:09But as we're getting older and growing or family, we realized
- 22:13let's take some nice pictures that's actually dress up.
- 22:16So this year might be different. I'm not consistent with it.
- 22:20What about you? I don't have it either.
- 22:22Actually, all the ornaments that I had in Puerto Rico, I gifted
- 22:26most of them. I know I saved some.
- 22:28That meant a lot to me. Like when I started dating my
- 22:31husband, I had like a little heart, the last heart.
- 22:35That's such very first Christmas.
- 22:37I don't know where it is. It's to me.
- 22:41It sounds like it's the one thing she's saying.
- 22:44Everything else was shattered. Your.
- 22:46Memory it's now it's. Over there back home and I can
- 22:49find it. I was trying to start a
- 22:52tradition because my bestie that I mentioned earlier, she does
- 22:56one ornament whether it's custom, but she does one
- 22:59ornament a year since she started dating her husband.
- 23:02So she recently talked about that to me, so I wanted to
- 23:06follow suit. So every year we did have one.
- 23:09I remember that the second year. So the first year I did that
- 23:13little part, our first Christmas.
- 23:14The second year is when we got Kobe.
- 23:17So we had a little photo of all three of us and one of those
- 23:21like Walgreens ornament things, right?
- 23:23So I remember I had snowflakes. And then the third year we spent
- 23:27Christmas in Saint Martin, I think it was.
- 23:30My family wasn't too happy about that.
- 23:31But I felt like this really cheap deals, like let's go
- 23:34travel. Yes, we both have a photo on the
- 23:36beach. Never done anything else.
- 23:38And I've been thinking about that recently.
- 23:40I was like, I could just go back through old photos and just
- 23:42catch up. Yes.
- 23:43It's only been like 10 years it. Might cost a bit all at once.
- 23:48But I don't have any photos like with Fiago or anything I.
- 23:52First Christmas I have. Photos with Santa but we never
- 23:55like put them up or anything. That's a good way.
- 23:59This whole at the go at the mall, take your babies, take
- 24:03pictures with Santa. That got weird for me.
- 24:05Again, I did not grow up with that, so I was, I never
- 24:08understood. First of all, there's a line
- 24:11that's a lot of patience and then you have this weirdo
- 24:14holding your kid so we can have a picture.
- 24:17Absolutely not. What are your thoughts on that?
- 24:20I was considering booking our appointment for this movie.
- 24:29It's very opposite. It's fine.
- 24:31It's not weird for me. I was actually really excited to
- 24:34take him the first year when he was like a baby.
- 24:36And then we weren't sure if we were going to go every year, but
- 24:39then we kind of wanted to see the girl.
- 24:42But and then I go to the same one.
- 24:44We have to go to UTC because it's the same Santa, or at least
- 24:48I'm looking at the same Santa. I what I like about that Santa,
- 24:51like he really has a beard. I can't do the fake beard thing.
- 24:54That's really creepy to me. But yeah, so we have three
- 24:58photos. We are thinking about getting it
- 25:00this deer and the intention is to kind of just see the growth.
- 25:04All three of us take the photo, not just the aggro.
- 25:06It's all three of us. Yeah, but I don't know how long
- 25:09it will last. You know, Like, you're not going
- 25:11to do 18 photos. You're probably not even going
- 25:13to want to do it. But every year I was telling my
- 25:16mom because my niece just got hers, and she's like, Oh my God,
- 25:19did you see her photo? She's just flying.
- 25:21Thiago was also filled the first year, but then last year he was
- 25:25a little bit weirded out, so most of the photos were just him
- 25:29with a weird face or wanting to sit on my lap.
- 25:32The best photo we're like give Santa have 5 and he gave him a
- 25:35high 5 and that's like our favorite.
- 25:36I'm like, okay, so we'll see. We'll see.
- 25:38This year he does, but maybe for the next few years, I don't
- 25:42know. But so far we like that
- 25:44tradition. Yeah, became our thing.
- 25:46I didn't grow up. Maybe I have one or two photos
- 25:49with Santa, I don't remember. Now, we actually did it every
- 25:54year we went to the bass pro shops because they do free
- 25:58Christmas pictures with Santa. OK, always the same background,
- 26:04always the same setting. The Santa is not a fake bearded
- 26:08Santa. He has a white beard.
- 26:10But of course, since we moved so many states, it will be always
- 26:15different from Sansa. That's but bass pro Until last
- 26:28year, we didn't do it because the kids were not really.
- 26:32Into it. We were trying to go but then it
- 26:35was already all booked out cuz you need to be on time booking
- 26:39those so you don't have to wait in line because they do have
- 26:44scheduling and walk insurance. But walk insurance will be two
- 26:49hours and so when you schedule it 15 minutes and you're in and.
- 26:53Out see that changes for me if you can book it or reserve a
- 26:57spot maybe I'd give it a try but this whole line I'm in line for
- 27:00two hours with my kids they don't stand or sit still
- 27:05absolutely not so. Do you want me to add a funny
- 27:09sign please? Last year we procrastinated OK
- 27:12and we went on the 24th if I recall and I'm trying to
- 27:17remember if we waited 3 or 4 hours because there were no
- 27:21spots available to but my husband was adamant to get it
- 27:25done. I was just like it doesn't
- 27:27matter at this point. But yes, he made some gallery at
- 27:30the mall for a long time and as long as it was our turn so.
- 27:36How was Seattle? He had to survive.
- 27:39He wanted to just run through the mall in that area.
- 27:42He was pretty entertained, but I was done. 3 hours.
- 27:45I would say it was about 3 hours if not more.
- 27:49For a picture. For a picture, I could have
- 27:51dressed up five seconds. I could have dressed up that
- 27:53Center for you. But bonus was they printed out
- 27:57double the photos by mistake and we had two for one, so I guess
- 28:01that was my reward. So this year, I was telling you
- 28:03what if we're going, we need to book it early.
- 28:07Just do it now. And the good thing about Bass
- 28:09Pro Shops is that you can bring your dogs.
- 28:13Oh, I don't know that. We did Bass Pro Shops once
- 28:15because we booked it and it was easy peasy.
- 28:18It was easy. And then the last time I tried
- 28:20to do it, like we got there, like in Santa was gone.
- 28:22I don't remember. I think it would get again.
- 28:25It's 2425. Like it was super last minute.
- 28:28Yeah, so that happened. But Bass Photoshop, I think we
- 28:31have 1 and I didn't even know about that.
- 28:33It's pretty. That's good to share because I
- 28:35had no idea. It's a pretty subtle.
- 28:37Maybe we get to do it this. I was gonna say, I'm like, have
- 28:40you asked? Maybe this year?
- 28:41Might be. Different.
- 28:42Yeah, yeah, Usually we try to get the pictures done around
- 28:46Thanksgiving and it is so cute to see the.
- 28:49Picture like the. Same background, the same
- 28:51setting and see the kids growing and getting bigger.
- 28:57Yeah, it makes you all nostalgic.
- 28:59I can't believe we're talking Christmas already, guys.
- 29:02I feel like it was yesterday, like I blinked and now we're
- 29:05here. Yes, I'm excited, but at the
- 29:07same time I'm like, I'm not ready.
- 29:09I'm not ready. There is still so much to do and
- 29:12I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels.
- 29:14Rushed just. Put the music and the food and
- 29:19the desserts and yes, I'm still working on it.
- 29:21I'm like, how am I going to survive this?
- 29:23How do you say no to all the goodies and you the Coco, the
- 29:27coffee, the aftermath? Mocha comes to live in the
- 29:31present. Live in the present.
- 29:32That's what people always say. You don't gain the weight
- 29:36between Christmas and New Year's.
- 29:38It's the New Year's to Christmas.
- 29:41That's the time when you gain the weight.
- 29:45I like that. That's like 2 weeks, 1011
- 29:48months. Two, it is 2 if you think about
- 29:51doesn't make huge damage for two weeks.
- 29:54It's what you do afterwards the other 1011 months of the.
- 29:58Year I will be working out. That's my goal.
- 30:00I think I'm on the right trajectory.
- 30:02Then we need to celebrate your one year mark.
- 30:05So that's the goal. Enjoy Christmas.
- 30:08That's. Right, celebrating that you have
- 30:10been consistent and you need to mark that date so we can
- 30:13celebrate you for the one year, see.
- 30:15I like that. Now we want to hear from you.
