- 1:11Speaker 3: back a little bit early and then Carl got a
- 1:13Speaker 3: niggle in his throat and I didn't want anything to do.
- 1:16Speaker 4: With that this time.
- 1:18Speaker 1: But I like to husk in your voice. You know,
- 1:20Speaker 1: you know what I feel like.
- 1:21Speaker 3: I feel like a girl who's come back from camp
- 1:24Speaker 3: and her mom's like, rest your voice, and she goes,
- 1:25Speaker 3: what do you mean?
- 1:26Speaker 1: Rest my voices? That's what it sounds like, you.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Know what I'm saying.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I'm very happy to have you back, and I'm glad
- 1:31Speaker 2: that you recovered. It was I was very lonely without you.
- 1:34Speaker 2: But we try to make do. Yeah, here we are,
- 1:37Speaker 2: and I'm just I'm praying. Jody's praying because he's the
- 1:39Speaker 2: only one that didn't have an and like a niggle
- 1:43Speaker 2: just yet in the throat, yeah, or a little sinus thing.
- 1:45Speaker 2: So he's hoping that he's not next, even though we
- 1:48Speaker 2: spent some time in there alone in that little producer booth.
- 1:51Speaker 4: He's God's favorite right now.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Yeah, that's it.
- 1:55Speaker 2: But Jody, let me tell you Southern when you're went
- 1:59Speaker 2: the flash, DRT, anything is possible this way.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, I don't want to do after that.
- 2:09Speaker 2: No, No, just talk, just talk normally. You're in exactly
- 2:14Speaker 2: your character already. I love this voice of you. It's
- 2:18Speaker 2: very it's very like late night phone on the phone
- 2:21Speaker 2: with you, late night listens giving that Yeah, very early
- 2:24Speaker 2: morning either way, it's like that. So you get that
- 2:27Speaker 2: in the afternoon. In the flash drive, all your favorites
- 2:29Speaker 2: are lined up and stocked like a chance to you
- 2:32Speaker 2: to pay it forward with clicks coming your way. Uh,
- 2:34Speaker 2: there's a little birthday traffic, which Cassidy can finally resume
- 2:38Speaker 2: after I gave it a shot for the past three days.
- 2:41Speaker 2: There's also oh flash word van a lass. It's going
- 2:46Speaker 2: to be a great show. We've got almost the full team.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Bob Piatrice, I can't believe that.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't believe.
- 2:56Speaker 4: What what excuse me?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Just because he's got the same thing, So I don't
- 3:01Speaker 2: know what's going on.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Maybe it's the buildings.
- 3:03Speaker 3: How are you gonna come here into my studio and
- 3:07Speaker 3: told me that I got Beatrice sick?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Are you gonna tell me that you're gonna get Tino
- 3:13Speaker 2: and Mario to get on it?
- 3:15Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 3:16Speaker 2: Am I gonna go sleep with the fish? Lit'sten to
- 3:20Speaker 2: that whiz See Now now you're giving low Wayne in
- 3:24Speaker 2: the early Young Money days. You know I'm still flying
- 3:27Speaker 2: y'all still with a turn of a weasy believe that's
- 3:31Speaker 2: the welcome to the show. We're back some of us
- 3:35Speaker 2: in full others half voice, but still here. It's a
- 3:41Speaker 2: flash drive and KFM ninety four point five copy it's
- 3:49Speaker 2: see a chandelier. Let's swing from it to It's almost weekend.
- 3:52Speaker 2: This is your show, your flash drive KFEM ninety four
- 3:55Speaker 2: point five. Let's have some fun and just share a
- 3:59Speaker 2: couple of things. This includes some traffic details with you,
- 4:02Speaker 2: and you weren't here. I didn't even sorry man, Okay.
- 4:06Speaker 2: This week for clicks, Yes, we have been getting organizations
- 4:09Speaker 2: and individuals to be celebrated ahead of Mandela Day, and
- 4:13Speaker 2: that's why everybody has been suggesting people from animal welfare places,
- 4:19Speaker 2: people who have just There was a woman we chated
- 4:22Speaker 2: to on Monday, Mama Soreas. She has a beautiful place
- 4:27Speaker 2: in a Monas where she has a feeding scheme. But
- 4:30Speaker 2: the reason why she does that is because she knows
- 4:33Speaker 2: how it is to be well below the bread line.
- 4:35Speaker 2: She was sickling without a home, without food, and she
- 4:39Speaker 2: decided that from there she doesn't want for people to
- 4:42Speaker 2: feel the way she did, and then she started a
- 4:44Speaker 2: feeding scheme and we gave her two and a half
- 4:45Speaker 2: thousand and cash back. So this week we are trying
- 4:48Speaker 2: to pay it forward and we're getting you to suggest
- 4:52Speaker 2: somebody please send their details as well to the WhatsApp
- 4:54Speaker 2: lines you're ad to nine four five zero nine four
- 4:57Speaker 2: zero and get involved and be upont of what is
- 5:00Speaker 2: a beautiful time for us to look after people and
- 5:03Speaker 2: to celebrate them. You know the number t's and c's
- 5:06Speaker 2: to apply and they could be surprised by you and
- 5:09Speaker 2: I with clicks, feel good and pay less, best party
- 5:13Speaker 2: a day, coming to work.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Finally, Yeah, honestly I hate being off.
- 5:19Speaker 1: What were you doing while you were off?
- 5:21Speaker 4: Oh?
- 5:21Speaker 3: I was sleeping, Like if I'm being so for real,
- 5:24Speaker 3: I was taking time. I was working on my other
- 5:28Speaker 3: things and I have to work on a you but
- 5:30Speaker 3: doing it from bed, sleeping and reading.
- 5:33Speaker 4: I was just trying to you know, you can still.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah, the residuals, but I'm glad you're back. You got
- 5:40Speaker 2: your watch fault in our stars. Yeah, it was diabolical.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Why would you do that? I just I've seen that
- 5:46Speaker 2: with people who are like, hah, my name's Carter and
- 5:48Speaker 2: this is my first beer and then later a friendly beer.
- 5:52Speaker 1: You did that with tears? Oh could you?
- 5:54Speaker 3: Because I feel like sometimes the youth just needs to
- 5:57Speaker 3: suffer a little bit.
- 5:58Speaker 4: It helps them build character.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Fault in Our Stars is just oh, it's like I
- 6:03Speaker 2: am Sam to me, I am Sam got me?
- 6:07Speaker 1: That got me? Sure, there were so many others that
- 6:11Speaker 1: got me.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Lion King, baby Land before Time, Never Ending Story.
- 6:19Speaker 4: I am Legend.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Yeah oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I am legend too, Avengers endgameko yeah, yes, Spirited
- 6:31Speaker 2: Away oh yeah, but yes, yes, that was so. That
- 6:35Speaker 2: was one of the movies for the new generation.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Okay, just got to remind them, you.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Know, Okay, this is very good. So did she enjoy it, though, Fault?
- 6:45Speaker 1: She loved it.
- 6:45Speaker 3: She loved it. It's a it's a it's a really
- 6:47Speaker 3: great movie. If you have some time, I would suggest
- 6:49Speaker 3: to go and.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Watch it with a box of tissues and chocolate and chocolate.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Chocolate too. I found when I watched the chocolate was
- 6:56Speaker 1: very handy to me. Thank you so much. Wow? Was
- 6:58Speaker 1: that all right? That's it doing? No today?
- 7:02Speaker 2: This woman walks in, not only sounding like Natonnial, but
- 7:05Speaker 2: also saying to me, what's happening with your face?
- 7:08Speaker 1: Now?
- 7:08Speaker 2: My beard grew out a little bit and there's more
- 7:11Speaker 2: gray in the beard here. Okay, and you're like, wow,
- 7:13Speaker 2: you aged like two years since I've been gone.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And then what makes matters worse is that I told
- 7:18Speaker 2: her that I also visited the chiropractice today and that
- 7:21Speaker 2: was really cool. I do I've got iro session. I
- 7:24Speaker 2: would highly recommend it. Don't matter how old you are,
- 7:26Speaker 2: go see a Cairo. I learned that my left hand
- 7:29Speaker 2: side there's something going on there, so I have three
- 7:32Speaker 2: sessions to release what's going on there, especially ahead of
- 7:34Speaker 2: high rocks.
- 7:35Speaker 1: So I'm going to be good.
- 7:36Speaker 3: When you do your realignments. How do you handle the pain?
- 7:39Speaker 3: I laugh incessantly.
- 7:41Speaker 1: There are a couple of responses.
- 7:43Speaker 2: There's laughter, there's a people tear, Yeah, a lot okay there,
- 7:49Speaker 2: But for me, I like to just hold back. But
- 7:52Speaker 2: where I couldn't hold back is that I got needled. Men,
- 7:56Speaker 2: So what happens with the dry needling is that they
- 7:58Speaker 2: get into the muscle fibers and they kind of like
- 8:01Speaker 2: pop where the I know, I know, they kind.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Of pop where the tension is.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:06Speaker 2: So she is so accurate, she's such an incredible chiropractor.
- 8:11Speaker 2: She got to the exact points of my lower back
- 8:13Speaker 2: and in the top area and she got.
- 8:16Speaker 1: It like on the nerve.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Okay, So I had to say to her, I'm sorry
- 8:19Speaker 2: for shouting. Oh you shout another shout. I kind of
- 8:23Speaker 2: go and then I continue talking. Sorry, I added to
- 8:26Speaker 2: my sentence. So she was asking me like, oh, how
- 8:28Speaker 2: are you doing? I was training, That's so that's what
- 8:30Speaker 2: I was doing during the session.
- 8:32Speaker 1: But it was good.
- 8:33Speaker 2: I feel I feel good. I feel like I'm I'm
- 8:35Speaker 2: on the mend more flexible. And a large part of
- 8:39Speaker 2: this thing is that I sit during the show and
- 8:42Speaker 2: I should be getting up a little bit more often.
- 8:45Speaker 1: So I need to do that. Just remind me, please, I'll.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Put on a little alarm, thank you, and then we'll
- 8:50Speaker 3: just do It'll walk about.
- 8:51Speaker 1: In a can. I do it now while you do traffic.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 8:55Speaker 3: So only R one or two after pen he'll turn
- 8:58Speaker 3: off direction towards some At west there's been an accident
- 9:02Speaker 3: another stationary vehicle on the end to inbound ramp to
- 9:05Speaker 3: the M three south one lane is obstructed and a
- 9:08Speaker 3: vehicle has lost its load on Bossman's Damn southbound at
- 9:11Speaker 3: the end seven. The left lane is closed and a
- 9:14Speaker 3: laser to be expected. Some roadworks on the end one
- 9:17Speaker 3: outgoing in the left lane on the link to mon
- 9:19Speaker 3: se Vista. My name is Cassidy Nicholson. I promise it
- 9:22Speaker 3: is me even though my voice is dropped. But if
- 9:25Speaker 3: you have anything else you want to add, please feel
- 9:27Speaker 3: free on the WhatsApp line that's OA two nine four
- 9:30Speaker 3: five zero nine four zero.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Based on your voice being dropped. I just got a
- 9:34Speaker 2: message from somebody who wants to to wish you well.
- 9:38Speaker 2: The individual's name is Albert. Albert says, welcome back, Verry White.
- 9:47Speaker 4: Approve too much of bene thing for you.
- 9:58Speaker 3: That is so good.
- 10:02Speaker 1: You sound exactly like him.
- 10:04Speaker 5: We shared.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 10:08Speaker 4: That's the only way to reflect, and he said one.
- 10:10Speaker 1: That's what we needed to hear that. I appreciate you
- 10:12Speaker 1: so much. My word it's the Cardigans called love Fool.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It's on your show The flash Drive in KFM ninety
- 10:23Speaker 2: four point five are happy to announce the Cassidy J.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Nicholson has returned from bronchitis or not bronchitis, upper respiratory issues. However,
- 10:32Speaker 2: there are still some interesting tones in your voice.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Kind of likes it though.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yes, it's like you sound like a female optimist prime
- 10:45Speaker 1: that sort of thing. I think that would be.
- 10:46Speaker 4: You know, I should probably just start with robots roll out.
- 10:52Speaker 1: That's what. Yeah, A little bit like that. So even
- 10:56Speaker 1: your laughter and it's got.
- 10:59Speaker 4: All the weight, it's got all this base.
- 11:01Speaker 1: There's a lot of base in there. Come on.
- 11:04Speaker 2: So this week we're doing clicks a little differently and
- 11:06Speaker 2: we want you to pay it forward to an unsung
- 11:09Speaker 2: hero organization.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I start winning feeling with clicks. Feel good to pay
- 11:13Speaker 1: us four point five? All right, here we go. Hello.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Is this Lara?
- 11:22Speaker 6: Yes, this is Lara, your fellow Pilon's High.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Ex pupil, stop it. Did you know that Cassidy's mom
- 11:28Speaker 1: went to Pilant's High too?
- 11:30Speaker 4: Yep she did.
- 11:30Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, we're all old together.
- 11:34Speaker 2: What we pass our golden you know, golden days and
- 11:38Speaker 2: our golden years at that school, which is great. So
- 11:40Speaker 2: tell me which you matriculated, if you don't mind me asking.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I know that's all quite revealing of one's age.
- 11:47Speaker 6: No, I don't mind at all, because I'm proudly fifty two.
- 11:50Speaker 6: So nineteen ninety one, oh ninety.
- 11:52Speaker 2: One, love just just a little bit before me. Yeah,
- 11:54Speaker 2: I was two thousand and three.
- 11:56Speaker 6: Yes, but I had a sister just before you, and
- 11:59Speaker 6: so she she knows you.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I think, So, yeah, what's your sister's name?
- 12:02Speaker 4: I'm Christy Geisler, Yes, Lock ten.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Yeah, oh what would how small is the world look
- 12:09Speaker 2: at us?
- 12:11Speaker 6: Very small?
- 12:11Speaker 2: Okay, So tell me about this person that you want
- 12:15Speaker 2: to put forward. I suppose I think that's you know what.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I think what we can do is right, what we
- 12:22Speaker 2: can do is I had. I had this idea, let's
- 12:28Speaker 2: do this all together. Pam, Hello, cal give me a second.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I was chatting to Laura. Quickly, Laura, tell me about
- 12:37Speaker 2: this person and organization you wanted to put forward.
- 12:42Speaker 6: So Pam, broadly, I've known now for I think since
- 12:46Speaker 6: two thousand and five.
- 12:47Speaker 4: So that's also.
- 12:47Speaker 6: Giving my age away. Yes, and she is one of
- 12:50Speaker 6: the selfless people who after years working in corporates together,
- 12:55Speaker 6: she decided that she was taking early retirement and she
- 12:57Speaker 6: wanted to build an organization that was going to help
- 13:00Speaker 6: the kids and the educators in the Western Cape. And
- 13:03Speaker 6: so she started moving mindsets in twenty twenty two and
- 13:06Speaker 6: I joined her and some of our other colleagues and
- 13:09Speaker 6: we've been delivering workshops for educators and leadership development for
- 13:14Speaker 6: grade sevens, grade elevens and twelve in some of the
- 13:17Speaker 6: poorest schools in Katsun. So I nominated Pam because she
- 13:21Speaker 6: gives so much of her own time, tirelessly presenting to kids,
- 13:26Speaker 6: counseling kids, doing holiday workshops so that they can catch
- 13:30Speaker 6: up on their masks and their English. And I just
- 13:32Speaker 6: wanted to say, Pam, for that, I am eternally grateful,
- 13:36Speaker 6: and so are all the children that you engage with,
- 13:39Speaker 6: and all the teachers at the schools from Livingston High
- 13:42Speaker 6: to bach Mcarey Primary. We thank you for everything that
- 13:45Speaker 6: you do because you give up your time, your energy,
- 13:47Speaker 6: and even sometimes your health. So that's why I think
- 13:50Speaker 6: a Clicks Club card would be awesome for you.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Pam Cool.
- 13:57Speaker 2: How are you feeling after hearing all of that went
- 14:00Speaker 2: from Laura's side giving us exactly what you're all about.
- 14:04Speaker 2: How are you feeling?
- 14:06Speaker 7: I'm in tears actually because I'm the person that helps everybody.
- 14:12Speaker 7: So it's on the other end and if you walk
- 14:16Speaker 7: in Bob mcchynie, they will all shot. There's miss Spam,
- 14:19Speaker 7: there's mis spam, and just before the school I actually
- 14:22Speaker 7: decided to name it Conversations with Miss Spam because that's
- 14:26Speaker 7: what I have with the children when they are bullied.
- 14:29Speaker 7: I deal with the bully and I deal with the
- 14:30Speaker 7: bullied the child. That's been through trauma, the child that
- 14:34Speaker 7: is nobody to talk to, the child that feels they
- 14:37Speaker 7: have no family, the child that's been abused. They come
- 14:41Speaker 7: to Miss Spam and they can sit and they can cry,
- 14:43Speaker 7: and they can talk, and they can and the boys
- 14:46Speaker 7: even say, we can tell Miss Spam our secrets because
- 14:50Speaker 7: it's okay. So that's what I do. My heart is
- 14:54Speaker 7: racing right now because I feel all those kids with
- 14:57Speaker 7: me so emotional right now. Laura, you bugger, I'm going
- 15:03Speaker 7: to do.
- 15:07Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, Bugger's fine. I'm going to call
- 15:09Speaker 2: you that to Laura, how dare you make Pam try?
- 15:12Speaker 2: I was about to ask us some questions, but I
- 15:14Speaker 2: do think that Pam, this is part of a larger
- 15:17Speaker 2: conversation that we have to have about your organization, because
- 15:20Speaker 2: I I'd love to help you know that was that
- 15:23Speaker 2: was my my main goal, you know when I studied
- 15:25Speaker 2: psych was to get out there and use it to
- 15:28Speaker 2: move mindsets, especially when it comes to emotional intelligence. It
- 15:32Speaker 2: is just such a party that we are dealing with
- 15:35Speaker 2: a lot of barriers to emotional intelligence, one of which
- 15:38Speaker 2: is including social media and the anonymity and the lack
- 15:42Speaker 2: of empathy that it often promotes in young people and
- 15:45Speaker 2: older people alike. You'll be surprised that you know what
- 15:49Speaker 2: you get on those comments on certain posts. And I've
- 15:52Speaker 2: been I've been chatting about over the past couple of weeks,
- 15:54Speaker 2: saying that we need to make a bigger move toward
- 15:56Speaker 2: nipping that away and allowing people to respond and not
- 16:01Speaker 2: just react, taking away impulsivity that is often our only
- 16:06Speaker 2: coping mechanism in some scenarios and educating accordingly. And I
- 16:10Speaker 2: can hear Pam that you're doing the good work, especially
- 16:12Speaker 2: at the grassroots level, so to speak with young people,
- 16:15Speaker 2: and I can't wait to hear more about Moving Mindsets.
- 16:19Speaker 2: But just for anybody who just got their interests piqued,
- 16:22Speaker 2: how do they contact you and say, hey, Pam, we
- 16:25Speaker 2: want to help as a corporate, we want to help
- 16:27Speaker 2: as an individual.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Where do we find you?
- 16:31Speaker 7: So right now actually tomorrow on Saturday. They're building our websites,
- 16:35Speaker 7: but at the moment I am, We are on Facebook
- 16:37Speaker 7: and Instagram. They can reach us on LinkedIn as well.
- 16:41Speaker 7: So Moving Mindsets is what it is. It's a nonprofit company.
- 16:45Speaker 7: And we also pack were doing a Mandela Day where
- 16:49Speaker 7: people have nominated us and they're packing meals because I
- 16:52Speaker 7: give the child a meal and I teach them how
- 16:55Speaker 7: to cook for themselves. If their parents are a drug addict,
- 16:58Speaker 7: I show them how to cook it and it's literally
- 17:00Speaker 7: to add water to it, and they then invite their
- 17:03Speaker 7: families to come for lunch because they can cook themselves. So, yes,
- 17:07Speaker 7: we need lots of donations. We keep stationary. We do
- 17:10Speaker 7: lots of things, but mainly it's true for the next
- 17:14Speaker 7: generation to feel whole and move forward and know they
- 17:18Speaker 7: can achieve whatever they want to achieve.
- 17:20Speaker 6: Sure, Laura, I'm We are in Stanford on Saturday at
- 17:25Speaker 6: Old Paddle in Stanford. It's a paddle house club. We

- 19:36Speaker 1: Ah.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Every time we talk about something off air, then I
- 19:39Speaker 2: must talk about it on air because.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I just have to share it. Though. Can I tell
- 19:44Speaker 1: you a pro tip for radio?
- 19:45Speaker 2: Please never ever have almonds as a snack for between links.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Do you know at the moment I am suckling.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Ah, I'm sitting here talking to you and I think
- 19:56Speaker 3: you've got like complete and utter disdain to whatever I'm saying. Meanwhile,
- 20:01Speaker 3: back at the raunch, you're just trying to fish the
- 20:03Speaker 3: omends out.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Yes, you were chatting to me about what you were
- 20:06Speaker 2: chatting to me about. And then my face went weird
- 20:08Speaker 2: because I had ten seconds left from the track and
- 20:10Speaker 2: I had to clear my mouth of these almonds. So, yeah,
- 20:14Speaker 2: they're protein almonds.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Okay, sir, Oh my god, there are.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Actually literally or protein almonds sitting you know, but pro tip,
- 20:24Speaker 2: not during a radio show. Okay, all right, that's ruled out.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Done from the Best of the Cape Awards, I'm Have
- 20:31Speaker 2: you been telling people about it in your circle?
- 20:34Speaker 4: Yes?
- 20:34Speaker 1: Have you been telling more?
- 20:35Speaker 2: You must tell more people because tomorrow you're oh so
- 20:38Speaker 2: do you say, hey, I'm Cassidy.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Have you nominated somebody yet? Yes, that's good.
- 20:42Speaker 4: We'll talk about the Best of the Cape all the time.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Just give me a second.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Why would you laugh at me? Okay, of course, of course.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Okay, I'm back.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yes, So this is all I wanted to to, just chat,
- 20:57Speaker 2: so in your absence, you were spreading the love.
- 20:59Speaker 1: And tell there's a vote.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Listen.
- 21:01Speaker 3: I'm at that age where a lot of my friends
- 21:03Speaker 3: have small businesses. Good, so my thing is right because
- 21:06Speaker 3: a lot of them will be like, hey, don't you
- 21:07Speaker 3: want to help out here? Don't you want to help out?
- 21:09Speaker 3: And I'm like, look, because we have this conversation all
- 21:13Speaker 3: the time. Yeah, the best way to help someone right
- 21:15Speaker 3: now who's got a small business or a business venture
- 21:19Speaker 3: is to nominate. This is the best way to put
- 21:22Speaker 3: them on the map. I mean, I have a friend
- 21:25Speaker 3: who's got the most incredible bakery. He makes everything into
- 21:28Speaker 3: sour dough.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Yes, I've tasted your the product from your friend's place. Well,
- 21:33Speaker 2: there's a nice option exactly. And I interact with so
- 21:35Speaker 2: many of these small businesses that I think would be
- 21:37Speaker 2: able to fit into any of these categories as well.
- 21:41Speaker 2: So it's really cool to have, yeah, to just have
- 21:45Speaker 2: this opportunity for you to celebrate these businesses. We have
- 21:49Speaker 2: thirty categories, which is great, and I don't want to
- 21:52Speaker 2: go through all of them, but there are a few
- 21:54Speaker 2: that we can, like Best Adventure Experience. You know that
- 21:57Speaker 2: we have so many cool spots, like we've got like
- 22:01Speaker 2: ziplining places and roller skating places, and we've got shark
- 22:07Speaker 2: cage diving places and paddle boarding places like these are
- 22:10Speaker 2: all adventure. If it's adventurous, it's part of the category, right,
- 22:14Speaker 2: don't overthink it. Get the nomination in Best tell you what,
- 22:18Speaker 2: let's zone in on our best door p We have
- 22:21Speaker 2: so many of these, and I always have been very clear.
- 22:25Speaker 2: In winter is the time we travel in our province.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I know you're thinking other way. There's bad waste. What
- 22:30Speaker 2: are you talking about? Rates are down? Places need occupancy.
- 22:34Speaker 2: We can help them out. And they've got fireplaces in them,
- 22:36Speaker 2: so it's cozy. It's a board game weekend away. And
- 22:40Speaker 2: our landscape is even more beautiful when it's winter, totally.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Right, and there's always something to do because you have
- 22:48Speaker 3: to go in those like small little places, right.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Best neighborhood shop. Come on, we all grew up with
- 22:55Speaker 2: a neighborhood shop.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Those neighborhood shops introduced us to our firsts of snacks.
- 23:01Speaker 2: The first time I had a Sherbert that had a
- 23:05Speaker 2: Dracula on the packet, all right, there was a blue
- 23:07Speaker 2: packet of sherbet and a major whole mouth red. That
- 23:11Speaker 2: was the first time. But it was a corner shop
- 23:13Speaker 2: in Kensington. I'll never forget the neighborhood shop there. It
- 23:15Speaker 2: was there first time I ever had a bompye, a
- 23:18Speaker 2: bunny lick, Hey, a Wilson block. These are great little Sorry,
- 23:23Speaker 2: I'm going all the way back. It's one of last
- 23:24Speaker 2: day none a push pop came from there as well. Yeah,
- 23:30Speaker 2: just look me boss, first time? Do the meboys sound there?
- 23:35Speaker 2: We go see there's even a sound for me, boss.
- 23:38Speaker 2: What snack is a sound?
- 23:40Speaker 4: I love mebos so much.
- 23:42Speaker 2: One of the interesting places, in fact two of them.
- 23:44Speaker 2: New one is best place to be seen. This is
- 23:46Speaker 2: for those places that are I think more content driven,
- 23:49Speaker 2: so you know those running clubs and even those places
- 23:52Speaker 2: that have.
- 23:52Speaker 1: The wings on them on the wall. That's a cool
- 23:55Speaker 1: spot there.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Best place to Sweat has been hotly contested, and I
- 23:59Speaker 2: think most ofeople don't understand what they you know what
- 24:01Speaker 2: it is. Maybe it's your rhythm cycling location, right, yeah,
- 24:06Speaker 2: maybe it is a place where you do like those
- 24:08Speaker 2: trampoline sessions. You know, anything that's Whileness is huge. So
- 24:12Speaker 2: I believe this category is going to be one of
- 24:14Speaker 2: the most nominated out of all the thirty categories because
- 24:17Speaker 2: Whileness has taken a huge spike up in the right direction.
- 24:21Speaker 2: So that could be a great place. Best place to
- 24:23Speaker 2: sweat even if it's biscal it's fine because sure your
- 24:28Speaker 2: quad sweat alone there.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Yes, yes, scorp that's a bad word in my so.
- 24:34Speaker 2: So it's intense, but yes, all the categories are there.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Go to best on the Cape dot Prime Media plus
- 24:40Speaker 2: dot com or send best to the WhatsApp line and
- 24:43Speaker 2: you'll get a short link. And then just nominate all
- 24:45Speaker 2: of the things, all of the places and spaces that
- 24:48Speaker 2: you think fit and let's get it on. We have
- 24:50Speaker 2: until seven pm tomorrow.
- 24:51Speaker 8: Go.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Do you hear that it's Miles Smith and now Horn
- 24:55Speaker 2: and sch called drive safe. Please do considering the fact
- 24:58Speaker 2: that this is your flash drive from that four point
- 25:00Speaker 2: five and here's some information for you on the driver's space.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Eighty three percent of learner drivers are failing the brand
- 25:09Speaker 2: new test. It is a real thing. It's happening. Don't don't.
- 25:13Speaker 2: This is what has just popped up. And this is
- 25:16Speaker 2: only in the Western Cape. Since the introduction of the
- 25:18Speaker 2: new computerized Learner's Licensed test, eighty three percent of applicants
- 25:22Speaker 2: are failing, with the PASPHAT dropping from around sixty three
- 25:25Speaker 2: percent down to seventeen percent. The biggest change is that
- 25:29Speaker 2: the new system randomly selects questions from a database of
- 25:32Speaker 2: around one thousand, two hundred questions, make it much harder
- 25:35Speaker 2: to memorize parrot fashion leaps test papers. While officials say
- 25:40Speaker 2: the new system improves the integrity of the testing process,
- 25:44Speaker 2: concerns have been raised about confusing questions and the lack
- 25:47Speaker 2: of accessible study material, with many learner drivers struggling to adapt.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Just a quick thing.
- 25:52Speaker 2: If you were to take the driver's license test again,
- 25:55Speaker 2: what would.
- 25:56Speaker 1: You fail at?
- 25:58Speaker 4: What would I fail at?
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yeah? I did the practical again, we need the practical.
- 26:01Speaker 1: What would you fail?
- 26:02Speaker 3: Let's be so serious. Parallel parking. I live in Cape Town.
- 26:06Speaker 3: I don't parallel park.
- 26:08Speaker 1: But I just walk c point no.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Listen, if there's an opportunity to parallel park, I'll look
- 26:14Speaker 3: at because.
- 26:14Speaker 4: There's always something.
- 26:15Speaker 3: There's always someone in the car when I'm a parallel park,
- 26:17Speaker 3: which means I'm not going to get it because pressure.
- 26:20Speaker 1: They're going to look at you and right, good luck man, exactly.
- 26:23Speaker 3: So what I do is I say thank you to
- 26:26Speaker 3: the parking theories, and I will go and park fifteen
- 26:29Speaker 3: minutes walking distance. I'm like, my legs work, it's fine.
- 26:33Speaker 3: I like fitness. I'm going to go for a little walk.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I love parking though, like my park is my favorite thing.
- 26:39Speaker 4: What you do you probably do with a flat palm?
- 26:41Speaker 1: I do do it.
- 26:42Speaker 2: I sometimes do a flat palm sometimes, but I remember
- 26:45Speaker 2: all the points from the parallel and all the points
- 26:47Speaker 2: from the alley.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Doc.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I don't know. It's a visual thing for me. Always
- 26:51Speaker 2: remember that.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Okay, please let me know because I never learned that
- 26:54Speaker 3: they never they never took it from the the points
- 26:59Speaker 3: that you have to see. You know that they put
- 27:01Speaker 3: the poles up right, They never put the poles to
- 27:04Speaker 3: the car, So I still see the poles, but I'm like,
- 27:07Speaker 3: I must see the car I got.
- 27:09Speaker 1: You.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Don't worry, don't worry, But I mean, I don't remember
- 27:12Speaker 2: the points, like the points at which you need to
- 27:14Speaker 2: turn your wheel, and it's still like locked to my head.
- 27:16Speaker 2: But yeah, that test was. It was crazy. I think
- 27:20Speaker 2: if I were to fail, I think a lot of
- 27:22Speaker 2: people get get lazy at checking their blind spot before
- 27:26Speaker 2: making any sort of turn. Just the blind spot completely
- 27:29Speaker 2: has been an issue for people. I think I'd probably
- 27:32Speaker 2: fail on the blind spot checking because I think you
- 27:34Speaker 2: get so in a rhythm, especially when you go to
- 27:36Speaker 2: the same place every day right that you have this
- 27:39Speaker 2: muscle memory that kicks in. You forget to do the basics.
- 27:41Speaker 2: I think that's where the failure would happen. But your
- 27:44Speaker 2: interesting stuff on the learner's test. That's a very very
- 27:48Speaker 2: I mean, I think being random, it means that you
- 27:50Speaker 2: are encouraging prospective drivers to have a real holistic view
- 27:55Speaker 2: of driving, and hopefully very defensively. So let's see where
- 27:58Speaker 2: that goes. You realized, and I'm sure you knew this.
- 28:00Speaker 2: It's been around for a while. LinkedIn has become the
- 28:02Speaker 2: new dating hotspot. Yes, you know that right. I do
- 28:05Speaker 2: know that around one thousand US workers found the twenty
- 28:08Speaker 2: two percent of tried pursuing a romantic connection through LinkedIn.
- 28:12Speaker 2: There was something about the way they have set out
- 28:14Speaker 2: their references and their skills that were so hot. I mean,
- 28:17Speaker 2: there's nothing hotter than someone saying previously a manager at
- 28:21Speaker 2: It's nothing more sexy than someone saying, my skills include leadership,
- 28:28Speaker 2: taking control.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, nothing sexier than word proficient.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Nothing sexier than excel proficient. You know when she can
- 28:39Speaker 2: do excel. I mean you know what I'm saying, Hey,
- 28:43Speaker 2: equal some open bracket, cell range, close bracket into Oh babe, stop,
- 28:50Speaker 2: So I'm sorry, We're gonna I'm sorry, don't we'se don't
- 28:53Speaker 2: we don't we use last one, last one, last one?
- 28:57Speaker 1: All right?
- 28:57Speaker 2: I got a list of the little white lives people
- 28:59Speaker 2: tell every single day. A huge survey revealed these, or
- 29:04Speaker 2: your lies you tell every day? Tell me when this
- 29:06Speaker 2: goes wrong, I'll call you later, yes or no? Yes,
- 29:11Speaker 2: yeah that makes sense.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Oh is this when a man tries telling me what
- 29:14Speaker 4: I meant?
- 29:15Speaker 1: Yes?
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, don't worry.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I'm sure it's okay. Oh I love it. Yes, yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 1: I'm listening.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Yeah no, yes, yes, yes, yes, just gidding.
- 29:33Speaker 3: That's when you absolutely meant what you said, but someone's
- 29:36Speaker 3: gonna get touched.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Yes, I'm five minutes away, or I'm around the corner.
- 29:40Speaker 4: You haven't left it. Yes, I think I'm.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Busy that day. Yeah yeah yeah, uh check your uh anyway,
- 29:50Speaker 1: I gotta.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Go okay yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yah yah yeah
- 29:53Speaker 3: yeah yeah. When someone doesn't know how to wrap it up.
- 29:55Speaker 4: Yeah yeah yeah.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Yeah, last one, I'm fine.
- 30:00Speaker 4: It's just girl coded. That's just that's one hundred percent.
- 30:02Speaker 2: That those are the lies that people tell. And I
- 30:05Speaker 2: think these are functional lies.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, I agree, I agree.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I was pondering about parents because they hit us with
- 30:11Speaker 2: functional lies all the time. And it's been holidays now, right,
- 30:14Speaker 2: so this is the thing. Yes, as you as your
- 30:18Speaker 2: parents ever hit you with a lie, and you know
- 30:20Speaker 2: it's a lie because your parents. We do this thing
- 30:23Speaker 2: where we hit the kids with a lie because we
- 30:25Speaker 2: need to get out of a situation very quickly, or
- 30:27Speaker 2: we need to divert, or we just need to get
- 30:30Speaker 2: the little kid to do something.
- 30:32Speaker 1: So tell me, be honest, what happened? Why laughing?
- 30:36Speaker 2: You're laughing already? What is the lie your parents told you?
- 30:40Speaker 3: I have I've mentioned this to you in passing, and
- 30:43Speaker 3: I think you forgot.
- 30:46Speaker 4: There was one.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Pretty large lie that was told to me, and that
- 30:50Speaker 3: was when I was looking around for high schools. My
- 30:53Speaker 3: dad told me not to worry because I was going
- 30:55Speaker 3: to Hogwarts.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Sorry hearing the wheezier, I'm sorry, your face is.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Scringing because of the all right, what you're a wizard?
- 31:17Speaker 4: What do you mean?
- 31:19Speaker 1: Shame?
- 31:20Speaker 2: So basically, how can I de code this to Your
- 31:24Speaker 2: dad didn't have a clue where you were going to
- 31:26Speaker 2: be sent. He needed to pervot and he needed to
- 31:29Speaker 2: switch things around and then bah.
- 31:31Speaker 4: He needed time. He needed time.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Do you know often we have to do that as
- 31:35Speaker 2: as as just people and parents. You have to throw
- 31:37Speaker 2: a lie in there, And I mean we get you
- 31:39Speaker 2: told this lie all the time? Like there there's a
- 31:41Speaker 2: few things, for instance, like if you don't go to
- 31:43Speaker 2: bed at a certain time, something will happen to you.
- 31:45Speaker 2: It's to get someone in bed, you know, like just
- 31:47Speaker 2: to make sure hey go sleep in the right time.
- 31:49Speaker 2: That's how it goes, right right, I'm intrigued. It's been holidays,
- 31:52Speaker 2: dear parents, give us the latest lies you've told me
- 31:57Speaker 2: to make your kid do something. I think this is
- 32:01Speaker 2: a it's a good it. Could you could actually be
- 32:02Speaker 2: sharing some good information. I know a few colleagues of
- 32:05Speaker 2: mine have mentioned certain things like to get their kids
- 32:09Speaker 2: to eat, they have had to make an entire celebratory
- 32:12Speaker 2: ritual at the table. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, just
- 32:15Speaker 2: to make sure that happens. I've heard that there were
- 32:18Speaker 2: certain lies around Wi Fi that have had to be told. Yes,
- 32:24Speaker 2: so this is why on zero two nine four five
- 32:26Speaker 2: zero nine four zero it's been holidays, do you appearance
- 32:30Speaker 2: stay anonymous though? This is just so we can keep
- 32:32Speaker 2: you in that lie. What's the latest lies you've told
- 32:35Speaker 2: to get your your kid to do something? I'd love
- 32:38Speaker 2: to hear from you. Please feel free. Zero two nine
- 32:42Speaker 2: four five zero nine four zero it's Mark Ranson, Emmy Wins,
- 32:50Speaker 2: it's your KARAOKEI song This is Valerie has also the
- 32:54Speaker 2: Flash Drive with me, Carl Wassty and Cassidy J. Nicholson
- 32:57Speaker 2: returning with one hundred percent enthusiasm and fifty percent.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Voice one enthusiasm, right like, I'm.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Here for the enthusiasm anyway, right, Who cares about the
- 33:08Speaker 2: voice anyway? Come on, that's whatever. It's just that Tusky.
- 33:12Speaker 2: It does sound flirtatious. I'm not gonna lie. It sounds
- 33:15Speaker 2: like you're chasing, but you're actually working and being professional,
- 33:19Speaker 2: right exactly. Yes, that's that's how it should be. I
- 33:22Speaker 2: did share a list of things that people have said, Hey,
- 33:25Speaker 2: these are all white lies. I shared a whole bunch
- 33:28Speaker 2: of them. But then I wanted to flip it to you.
- 33:29Speaker 2: As a parent during the holidays, you need to lie sometimes,
- 33:35Speaker 2: and I'm calling it a little white lie, or let's
- 33:37Speaker 2: just say a parenting curation and control lie in order
- 33:44Speaker 2: to make sure things are all in check. And I'm
- 33:46Speaker 2: telling you now, every one of these has worth it
- 33:50Speaker 2: a very very powerful message behind it.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Beyond the lie, take a life goal.
- 33:54Speaker 5: So when my kids were little, I used to tell
- 33:57Speaker 5: them that those little alarms, senses were Santa Claus looking
- 34:03Speaker 5: at them, charging them for their manners. And then every
- 34:06Speaker 5: time the light would go away, if somebody moves in
- 34:08Speaker 5: the room, I'd say, can you see Sander's looking at you?
- 34:11Speaker 5: Better behave? And they believe that up until right now
- 34:15Speaker 5: in the car when they realize I was lying.
- 34:21Speaker 2: But it's a cool stret it's very it's a very
- 34:24Speaker 2: cool streat. But once again, it's that feeling of there
- 34:27Speaker 2: is a higher authority than the parents, who even the
- 34:31Speaker 2: parents are listening to. And that's even commands again, an
- 34:36Speaker 2: extra bit of credibility, an extra bit of impetus around
- 34:40Speaker 2: the discipline.
- 34:41Speaker 1: So there's a way. There's another one.
- 34:46Speaker 9: Har call my son's little girl.
- 34:49Speaker 4: So he's got he and his arms.
- 34:51Speaker 9: So she asked him what it is, So he said
- 34:53Speaker 9: he didn't brush his teeth, so they ground his arms.
- 34:56Speaker 9: Now she's petrified if she doesn't brush your teeth that
- 34:59Speaker 9: they's got to grow under arms. I feel sorry for
- 35:02Speaker 9: when she eats puberty, So.
- 35:09Speaker 1: I know a shame.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Is this a silence of don't worry, you'll get you
- 35:13Speaker 2: These are just all methods like now you want to
- 35:15Speaker 2: make sure that personal hygiene is key, and you're going
- 35:18Speaker 2: to have to implement some of these things in there
- 35:20Speaker 2: as well.
- 35:21Speaker 4: How do you explain the hair and her legs.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I don't know, because it's going to be like other
- 35:25Speaker 3: things that are going to come up.
- 35:26Speaker 4: It's like wait, hold on. But also, you.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Know, my one's pretty fluid. Those you know when when
- 35:32Speaker 1: kids go like Erry, why the mental thought?
- 35:36Speaker 2: Then I hear the parent going, that's what happens when
- 35:39Speaker 2: you don't need you vitally. Yeah, I've heard that, And
- 35:41Speaker 2: I can be a lesson for somebody, you know, even
- 35:44Speaker 2: though we are different shapes and sizes and we should
- 35:46Speaker 2: be appreciated as such. But if there was a little
- 35:49Speaker 2: nudge in the right direction for vegetables, I'm here for it. Yeah,
- 35:52Speaker 2: all right, I will be that inspiration behind a good diet.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I'll be there. Here's another way.
- 35:57Speaker 4: My friend used.
- 35:59Speaker 10: To love getting dressed in front of the TV when
- 36:02Speaker 10: she was a kid, because I was complaining that my
- 36:05Speaker 10: kids does it, and she's, like her mom said, but
- 36:09Speaker 10: the people in the TV can see you getting dressed,
- 36:13Speaker 10: and she never got in never got dressed in front
- 36:17Speaker 10: of the TV again in the lounge.
- 36:19Speaker 2: So the key to that was to not be distracted
- 36:22Speaker 2: while you're doing a task. Okay, that's why there was
- 36:24Speaker 2: in place. Okay, think about that very carefully. There are
- 36:28Speaker 2: merits to these lies. There are some merits to them.
- 36:33Speaker 2: It's just about the execution and why hella hein. Hey
- 36:37Speaker 2: are you doing called fantastic? Hey you're a teacher? Yeah, sure,
- 36:42Speaker 2: so you know all about lying daily.
- 36:45Speaker 11: I call it. I call it the hack.
- 36:47Speaker 4: Yes, yes, wait, that's a great way to phrase it.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Me reverse for a second, parenting hacks and teachers hacks.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Yeah, there we go, there we go, So tell me
- 36:55Speaker 1: what is your hack.
- 36:58Speaker 11: A couple of years ago, we were living abroad and
- 37:00Speaker 11: at the specific time of year, the clocks turned backwards
- 37:03Speaker 11: or forwards four day that saving time, and the night
- 37:06Speaker 11: we got home, so both myself and my wife are teachers,
- 37:10Speaker 11: so the kids were in the car with us, so
- 37:12Speaker 11: when we got in the house, we forgot to turn
- 37:13Speaker 11: the clocks back, which meant that they went to bed
- 37:16Speaker 11: early that night, and we only realized that like a
- 37:19Speaker 11: little bit later when they were in bed already, and
- 37:21Speaker 11: then we were, oh, we've got an hour extra for ourselves.
- 37:23Speaker 11: And it ended up two weeks later and three weeks
- 37:26Speaker 11: later we still got to the house and one of
- 37:28Speaker 11: us would run into the house and turn o'clock forward
- 37:30Speaker 11: an hour so that they can go to bed early,
- 37:33Speaker 11: have an extra hour of sleep, and us having an
- 37:36Speaker 11: extra hour to ourselves, which was really amazing. And I
- 37:38Speaker 11: only really caught onto it when one of them saw
- 37:41Speaker 11: the clock in the car and the clock in the
- 37:42Speaker 11: house not really running out together.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Continuity issues, Yeah.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Exactly the hind Now, can I also ask you as
- 37:51Speaker 2: a teacher. I know a lot of teachers are chilling
- 37:53Speaker 2: out and they're going to get back into their third
- 37:55Speaker 2: term shortly, So what are some of the teacher hacks
- 37:59Speaker 2: that you want to drop in there with regard to
- 38:00Speaker 2: your students.
- 38:02Speaker 11: There are a couple of them where you just would say, okay,
- 38:06Speaker 11: I'm not yet. I had a teacher that did this.
- 38:08Speaker 11: He had a rock on his table and he said,
- 38:11Speaker 11: this rock was from the moon and it can see
- 38:13Speaker 11: and yeah, anything, and we were petrified of that rock.
- 38:17Speaker 11: And he would talk to the rock when he came
- 38:18Speaker 11: into the classroom, asking the rock did anybody speak? And
- 38:21Speaker 11: I think he looked through a window one day he
- 38:23Speaker 11: saw someone spoke speaking while he wasn't there, and he said, oh,
- 38:26Speaker 11: the rock just said Johnny spoke, and I mean after that,
- 38:29Speaker 11: we were petrified at the rock and petrified of his
- 38:31Speaker 11: last because he had a rock would see us and
- 38:33Speaker 11: catch us out when.
- 38:34Speaker 1: We were speaking.
- 38:36Speaker 11: Wow, okay, going to that measures yet, but yeah, times
- 38:42Speaker 11: courts are desperate measures.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Yes, far fetched, but you know here we are. Heian,
- 38:47Speaker 2: thank you so much for sharing. Man, Have a wonderful
- 38:49Speaker 2: day and enjoy the balance of your break. So almost time.
- 38:52Speaker 11: Thank you a couple of days left.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Yeah, almost, timer man, thank you very much for sharing these.
- 38:57Speaker 2: We had to put them into inverted commas hacks now
- 39:00Speaker 2: thanks to Heine.
- 39:01Speaker 1: It's like that.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Here's another that I think could be used on kids
- 39:04Speaker 2: and people. Okay, adults, a little white lie. Don't pull
- 39:09Speaker 2: your face like that. It'll stay that way forever when
- 39:13Speaker 2: the wind changes.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Okay, Cassany, my family said, tell me that when there
- 39:18Speaker 3: was an aeroplane flying.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Over, would the airplane freeze your face in a certain position?
- 39:23Speaker 3: Yes, especially because I am a seasoned professional when it
- 39:27Speaker 3: comes to rolling my eyes. If you roll your eyes
- 39:30Speaker 3: on an airplane flies over, your eyes are going to
- 39:32Speaker 3: stay there.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Oh okay, I see you didn't really learn from that occasion,
- 39:39Speaker 2: did you. I'm just asking because you can't hear any
- 39:42Speaker 2: aeroplanes flying over in the building. You still roll your eyes.
- 39:45Speaker 2: You and Pietrice, it did happen? Now they see there
- 39:48Speaker 2: we go. This could couldn't even stop it there.
- 39:51Speaker 1: That's it.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Thanks for sharing your lies, I mean, hacks. I appreciate
- 39:55Speaker 2: you for that. Here's some traffic with the Western Gate

- 43:53Speaker 2: I mean, can I start planning for like end of year.

- 44:27Speaker 2: go to that one place that has like bottomless pubbly
- 44:30Speaker 2: in the corner there, bottomless wine.
- 44:31Speaker 1: I think there's like old fountain in Italy?
- 44:34Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, thoughts exactly.
- 44:36Speaker 2: And then obviously the pasta and the bread, and then
- 44:39Speaker 2: the pasta and the bread, and then the pasta and
- 44:42Speaker 2: then the osobuco and then the pasta. Yep, I completely
- 44:45Speaker 2: understand common. Do you want to go first or second?
- 44:47Speaker 1: Today? No problem, Rica's.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Five questions coming away, and there's a lovely flash word
- 44:55Speaker 2: for you today.
- 44:55Speaker 1: It's writ.
- 44:56Speaker 2: So it could be r it t R E t
- 44:59Speaker 2: r A t r O t t r AT. It
- 45:02Speaker 2: can be phonetic writ. As long as your answer starts
- 45:05Speaker 2: is in the middle.
- 45:06Speaker 1: It ends with that. You are going to be fine.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Are you ready? I'm ready?
- 45:09Speaker 2: All right, thirty seconds on the clock. Your time begins
- 45:12Speaker 2: in three two one. Let's have some fun. A unit
- 45:16Speaker 2: of gold and diamond value. Let's skip a glue brand, prit,
- 45:26Speaker 2: something never to be disclosed, a secret, unable to read
- 45:31Speaker 2: and write?
- 45:33Speaker 1: Um, skip a pH d? Doctor that a.
- 45:40Speaker 2: Unit of gold and diamond value. Time the fast even
- 45:48Speaker 2: for me answers golden diamond value usually carrots.
- 45:52Speaker 1: It's it's value. You can callt it weight t V
- 45:54Speaker 1: one two yep.
- 45:55Speaker 2: So our glue brand is prit a secret spot on there.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Unable to read and write would be to writ, and

- 46:32Speaker 2: Thank thank you. That's to get something after someone's passing. Okay,
- 46:38Speaker 2: what else you gonna talk about anything?

- 47:20Speaker 2: You just represent it so beautiful now and now we

- 47:37Speaker 2: Thank you so much, No problem Calmons once again. You're
- 47:45Speaker 2: you're making a habit of this now, aren't you.

- 47:59Speaker 2: Chat again to morrow. Common is common beatable? That's the question.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Why did you find out tomorrow?
- 48:05Speaker 1: You really do? It's bouge leggie.
- 48:12Speaker 2: I would lose it all with Jake Isaacs vocals from
- 48:15Speaker 2: the locals. What the UK Star thrown in as well.
- 48:19Speaker 2: Still ahead is a transfer us to go all the
- 48:21Speaker 2: way back with the playlist. That's that's We're gonna throw
- 48:23Speaker 2: it back to vander Lass. That's it, vander last all
- 48:27Speaker 2: the way back, like with Cassidy being not sick but recovered,
- 48:33Speaker 2: but still have you know, a little bit remnants of
- 48:35Speaker 2: the sickness. I was just thinking about, remember the old
- 48:38Speaker 2: remedies that we used to get. So for us growing up,
- 48:41Speaker 2: I know, I'm like a little bit older than you,
- 48:43Speaker 2: like slightly decade. Yeah, so I mean we used to
- 48:47Speaker 2: get those really just those medications by Lenin from our grandparents,
- 48:52Speaker 2: you know, and they used to give us like Levant's
- 48:54Speaker 2: Essence and the Roiler Fentle and they used to just
- 48:57Speaker 2: chug us down with these things that tasted horrible. But
- 49:00Speaker 2: somehow they actually worked all these traditional remedies. And I
- 49:04Speaker 2: think sometimes like a song sounds like one of those
- 49:06Speaker 2: old school remedies. That's what Vaneralas is. It's like that
- 49:08Speaker 2: Levan's Essence in your mouth. Sometimes it just you go
- 49:12Speaker 2: all the way back then you remember which song was
- 49:14Speaker 2: playing when you were sick, and then you're like, ah,
- 49:16Speaker 2: there we.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Go, that's the song. Give me an example, Oh like
- 49:20Speaker 1: the songs that are playing. Yeah, sure, okay.
- 49:23Speaker 2: This song reminds me of There was one day where
- 49:26Speaker 2: I got like bad flu and I think, I hope
- 49:30Speaker 2: we have this song.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Let me just see, maybe we do.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Just there was a song by Black Street, and I
- 49:38Speaker 2: think this is probably gonna be good.
- 49:41Speaker 1: It's just it reminds me. Here we go.
- 49:45Speaker 2: This song reminds me of that time, and for some
- 49:48Speaker 2: reason it reminds me of those old school remedies, which
- 49:53Speaker 2: is this track over here.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Okay, I'm not sure we ever heard.
- 49:56Speaker 4: It, but.
- 50:00Speaker 3: This off the.
- 50:04Speaker 4: Play something.
- 50:06Speaker 2: I think it was my older brother that was jamming
- 50:08Speaker 2: this when I was sick in the like the bed
- 50:10Speaker 2: next day in there, just wait.
- 50:18Speaker 1: For the beat.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Men. I can feel the cloth on my head, you
- 50:27Speaker 2: know that. Did you ever get any traditional remedies?
- 50:41Speaker 3: I did such as well. I mean I had the
- 50:44Speaker 3: colic remedy, always the colic, the colic remedy. But if
- 50:47Speaker 3: it was like traditional hair, I got the vinegar on
- 50:50Speaker 3: the cloth. The cloth just absorb the flu exactly absorbing. Yes,
- 50:56Speaker 3: you were going to finally cut a potato and you're
- 51:00Speaker 3: going to put that on your forehead to.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Draw the fever there, to draw it out. Yeah, that's
- 51:05Speaker 2: right exactly. I had a toothache once. Yeah, and my
- 51:10Speaker 2: grandmother crushed clothes. Yeahs to make it all that numb exactly.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Suck on a clove or something.
- 51:16Speaker 1: But you know, that's the thing.
- 51:17Speaker 2: These are these old school remedies that we've experienced. But
- 51:20Speaker 2: one of the best old school remedies we ever received
- 51:23Speaker 2: was the music and that's what I need for Vana
- 51:26Speaker 2: last to day between six and six thirty. You curate,
- 51:29Speaker 2: you choose, you take me all the way back, because
- 51:32Speaker 2: music is the remedy.
- 51:34Speaker 3: I'm taking it back, Las Elliot, this is for my people,
- 51:42Speaker 3: my fellow South African.
- 51:48Speaker 8: Starsty like like a throwback Thursday, Las, I would say
- 51:53Speaker 8: bomb fon style, Hi, Paul last staporit of cocks, sweep.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Yo, ma ya sh.
- 52:14Speaker 2: W switch the hits at six with cawways, give us
- 52:19Speaker 2: a remedy, well a song and throw it all the
- 52:21Speaker 2: way back. You're a two nine four five zero nine
- 52:24Speaker 2: four zero and get involved with Van a Las A
- 52:27Speaker 2: little bit later on your flash drive on K from
- 52:29Speaker 2: ninety four point five, I workness News. Traffic is brought
- 52:32Speaker 2: to you by Assurance. U kN sms out to three

- 52:44Speaker 2: on the flash drive in K from ninety four point five.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Before we wrap up on the flash drive, just one
- 52:50Speaker 2: thing that I think you can ask anybody around the
- 52:52Speaker 2: dinner table, a little stimulating question that will inspire and
- 52:56Speaker 2: get you to know the people around you a little
- 52:58Speaker 2: bit more, And I think it's an important time to
- 53:00Speaker 2: do so, especially around dinner time or when you're resting
- 53:02Speaker 2: after a long day, to get to know the people
- 53:04Speaker 2: closest to you. Talking about closest to me, Cassidy, you
- 53:08Speaker 2: are here, Yes, And here's a quick question to you.
- 53:10Speaker 1: And I know it's not loaded at all.
- 53:11Speaker 2: It's just to inspire more people to ask some great
- 53:14Speaker 2: questions around the table to get to know each other.
- 53:16Speaker 2: So it's simple. What is a mistake that you've made
- 53:21Speaker 2: that turned into a blessing?
- 53:24Speaker 1: Give? It's some thought?
- 53:25Speaker 3: Okay, okay, I have one, Okay, but you can't think
- 53:32Speaker 3: of me different. Hey, I started making fun of my
- 53:35Speaker 3: mom at parties?
- 53:38Speaker 1: Actually number one? Why was your mom at the party?
- 53:40Speaker 4: Me and my mom go over together.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Did you and your mom party back in the day?
- 53:44Speaker 3: Not like when I say parties, I mean like we'd
- 53:46Speaker 3: go to like dinner parties and stuff.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Oh okay, So so you used to make fun of
- 53:52Speaker 2: your mom.
- 53:53Speaker 4: Call you've heard my mom speak?
- 53:54Speaker 2: I have never I only hear an angel speaking when
- 53:57Speaker 2: I hear your mom speak.
- 53:58Speaker 4: Cole be so serious?
- 53:59Speaker 8: All right?
- 54:00Speaker 1: Money is mahomie?
- 54:01Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 54:01Speaker 2: I only hear, I only hear the pleasure of her voice.
- 54:06Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, when someone says something funny and then
- 54:09Speaker 3: when people find it funny, they repeat it.
- 54:12Speaker 4: So my mom would go.
- 54:14Speaker 3: To let's you know, we'd all be cooking or whatever,
- 54:17Speaker 3: and she'd eat something and she'd be that is absolutely
- 54:21Speaker 3: off the chart, and then aga, it's off the chart.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Okay, So that's so hold on, were you starting to
- 54:29Speaker 2: frame from that mistake of disrespecting your mother in company?
- 54:37Speaker 2: Was that the fuel of constantial Mom? And it became
- 54:40Speaker 2: a blessing during twenty twenty you you held the hands
- 54:42Speaker 2: of so many people. Even till this day, people will say, oh,
- 54:46Speaker 2: my word, like it's amazing how that character has followed
- 54:49Speaker 2: you around. It became a whole thing exactly. Oh honestly,
- 54:56Speaker 2: constantial Mom has become like the way people remember friends.
- 55:00Speaker 4: Hmmm.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Literally, And it's that that that's power.
- 55:03Speaker 3: And you know what the best part is she's got
- 55:05Speaker 3: such a good sense of humor because if a package
- 55:09Speaker 3: arrives at the house, she'll open it and then I
- 55:12Speaker 3: will say, what you conscious open my packages and she goes.
- 55:15Speaker 4: But it's based off me, It's based off.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Me, Sir did you ask for commission.
- 55:23Speaker 4: That's her commission.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Oh my word, that's crazy. So that's my little that's beautiful.
- 55:29Speaker 2: And I think that's a nice way of understanding someone
- 55:32Speaker 2: and getting to know them around the dinner.
- 55:33Speaker 4: Table that yes, what's your thing?
- 55:35Speaker 1: I have a son? Anyway, have you somethed?
- 55:46Speaker 3: No?
- 55:47Speaker 6: Man, was.
- 55:54Speaker 4: I'm so sorry?
- 55:57Speaker 1: Okay, I'm kidding, no, kidding, No, I think it was.
- 56:04Speaker 10: That.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Hey, I don't even need to answer the question. Okay, no, no,
- 56:14Speaker 1: I think sure. You know. I wasn't.
- 56:20Speaker 2: I wasn't supposed to use company resources to do my
- 56:24Speaker 2: own private stuff, but I did because there was one
- 56:27Speaker 2: day when I was emcing and someone gave me an
- 56:29Speaker 2: email to a program manager at a radio station in
- 56:32Speaker 2: Cape Town, and I recall I had done all my
- 56:35Speaker 2: admin at this job of mine when I was selling
- 56:37Speaker 2: UPS's and I decided to steal away and I wasn't
- 56:43Speaker 2: supposed to, and it was very clear, my boss is
- 56:45Speaker 2: very clear to not use any of the company resources
- 56:49Speaker 2: for personal totally. You kind of call your mom from
- 56:52Speaker 2: the phones. They're like, rather take a break, go to
- 56:54Speaker 2: like Howard's Center, whatever. Necess's a real thing that you
- 56:57Speaker 2: need to do. That's completely understandable. So I wasn't really
- 57:00Speaker 2: supposed to use company resources in order for me to
- 57:02Speaker 2: send an email, but I went ahead and I sent
- 57:07Speaker 2: an email to the radio station who gave me an
- 57:10Speaker 2: email at this mc gig that I did and they
- 57:12Speaker 2: were broadcasting from there, And that same email, which was
- 57:17Speaker 2: was a corporate mistake using corporate resources to send these things,
- 57:21Speaker 2: became a blessing because essentially I was invited for a
- 57:23Speaker 2: voice test which started my journey in radio.
- 57:25Speaker 4: How fueh.
- 57:27Speaker 2: So it's not always that bad to use the color
- 57:29Speaker 2: print at work or the email.
- 57:32Speaker 4: To the ends justify the me.
- 57:33Speaker 2: I mean, it's been eighteen beautiful years being in this industry,
- 57:37Speaker 2: and thanks a lot for that email which started me
- 57:39Speaker 2: off on a voice test, which made me a sport presenter,
- 57:42Speaker 2: which made me a teen show presenter at that and
- 57:45Speaker 2: which made me a which made KFM ninety four point
- 57:48Speaker 2: five knock on my door yep.
- 57:51Speaker 1: And then I made the Switch, which.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Was also the name of the show that I started
- 57:55Speaker 2: off as. And it's great because you know, on the
- 57:58Speaker 2: third of October this year, it'll be ten years is
- 58:00Speaker 2: a k from ninety four point five?
- 58:01Speaker 4: Oh my god?
- 58:02Speaker 1: Yeah? Crazy?
- 58:04Speaker 4: Can I say as Kevin Hart would say.
- 58:06Speaker 2: Damn, Dan, that's why. Thanks for noticing all the gray
- 58:09Speaker 2: in my beard when you saw me today.
- 58:10Speaker 1: I appreciate. It's great to have you back.
- 58:12Speaker 2: We're out, have yourself a remarkably beautiful evening. And you
- 58:15Speaker 2: know what, ask the question around the table to your
- 58:18Speaker 2: nearest and dearest. I think you'll find something very special
- 58:20Speaker 2: about their narrative, something that you may have not heard before.
- 58:23Speaker 2: I will inspire you to ask that and we'll chat
- 58:25Speaker 2: again tomorrow. Three pm, Friday edition of the Flash Drive
- 58:28Speaker 2: and k from ninety four point five. Brandon and Utah
- 58:31Speaker 2: up next to entertain until ten.
