Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:08Speaker 1: Sophie Torber and coming up on today's show, Michaela Tester
- 0:12Speaker 1: drops all the dirty details on Anna Paul's secret relationship,
- 0:16Speaker 1: Alex Earle declares boobs are back at Coachella, and James Charles'
- 0:20Speaker 1: surprising house guests. But first, we have some exciting news
- 0:24Speaker 1: to share. Amy has given birth to her son, little
- 0:27Speaker 1: Harry George Humphreys. He's absolutely adorable. He's His father's twin.
- 0:32Speaker 1: For some reason, us Torba women seem to birth our
- 0:34Speaker 1: husbands because he is the spitting image of Dale. I
- 0:37Speaker 1: was holding him the other day and I'm like, I
- 0:39Speaker 1: feel like I'm holding a mini version of you.
- 0:40Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I definitely know that I'll be giving birth to a
- 0:43Speaker 1: mini Brandon in eight weeks time. I don't even have
- 0:46Speaker 1: to consider that my baby might look a little bit
- 0:48Speaker 1: like me. But we were so nervous on Monday because
- 0:52Speaker 1: we knew that Amy was giving birth and we were
- 0:54Speaker 1: trying to record the episode. Yeah, we didn't think it
- 0:56Speaker 1: was going to be so rushed because when I went
- 0:58Speaker 1: in for my cesarean We.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Waited all day.
- 1:01Speaker 1: You guys didn't get to see Jack until like 10
- 1:04Speaker 1: o'clock at night. And instead, Amy got a call from
- 1:07Speaker 1: the hospital in the morning saying, could you get here quicker?
- 1:09Speaker 1: We've bumped you up the queue. You're number one, ready
- 1:11Speaker 1: to go. And this is bad because Amy and Dale
- 1:13Speaker 1: are quite often late. So they were rushing around trying
- 1:16Speaker 1: to get in there on time. They were on time,
- 1:19Speaker 1: but then they ended up getting bumped for someone else.
- 1:21Speaker 1: So it was a bit of an ordeal, but we
- 1:23Speaker 1: were really nervous because Amy was had a cesarean due
- 1:26Speaker 1: to the fact that she had a fibroid. I don't
- 1:28Speaker 1: think she's spoken about it on the podcast before, but
- 1:31Speaker 1: we were just waiting to hear any sort of news
- 1:33Speaker 1: because obviously a fibroid can complicate a cesarean. Yeah, we
- 1:37Speaker 1: were so nervous and they went MIA for a couple
- 1:40Speaker 1: of hours. They didn't actually say that they'd gone in
- 1:42Speaker 1: and you and I could not spit out a sentence
- 1:44Speaker 1: on the podcast.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I listened back to it.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I'm like, good editing on your behalf, Sophie, because I'm like,
- 1:48Speaker 1: it seemed like we sort of strung something together, but apologies.
- 1:51Speaker 1: My mind was like miles away during that recording, but
- 1:55Speaker 1: It's just been so lovely because we've been able to
- 1:58Speaker 1: enjoy Harry over the Easter break. So every year we
- 2:02Speaker 1: go to Blair National Park. We have all of our in-laws,
- 2:04Speaker 1: which some people might find weird. I think it's so
- 2:06Speaker 1: lovely that everyone gets along. We all have a tennis
- 2:09Speaker 1: day and Harry ended up coming along. Everyone's like, Amy,
- 2:13Speaker 1: you're not going to make it six days after giving birth.
- 2:16Speaker 2: She made it and she was wearing jeans.
- 2:18Speaker 1: They were maternity jeans. I take my hat off to
- 2:20Speaker 1: her though. She also had boots with a heel. When
- 2:23Speaker 1: she usually gets around in Sanchez, I don't know what
- 2:25Speaker 1: she was, maybe she's changed during motherhood. Look, I think
- 2:28Speaker 1: she's probably high on the endone to be honest, because
- 2:31Speaker 1: I remember those days. But yeah, I was very impressed
- 2:34Speaker 1: that she managed to get out of the house. She
- 2:35Speaker 1: was at a cafe the other day. So yeah, she
- 2:37Speaker 1: sent me the most beautiful message though. She said, I
- 2:40Speaker 1: know that it's been a difficult.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Week, but it's actually been the most special week.
- 2:45Speaker 1: And it's been so nice to do the feeds with
- 2:48Speaker 1: Dale and it's just been so exciting to wake up
- 2:50Speaker 1: to Harry.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And again, she might be.
- 2:53Speaker 1: High on the endo, but it made me feel a
- 2:54Speaker 1: little bit better about.
- 2:55Speaker 2: What's to come.
- 2:55Speaker 1: She's like, you and Brandon will absolutely love your time
- 2:58Speaker 1: off together. Reese and I actually went over last night
- 3:01Speaker 1: and we were feeding Jack. We were actually using Harry's
- 3:03Speaker 1: high chair. And it was so nice to have just
- 3:06Speaker 1: two kids there and sort of like, I know they're
- 3:08Speaker 1: only parents for the last week, but it was sort
- 3:10Speaker 1: of that understanding. So I'm very excited for you to
- 3:12Speaker 1: join the little mum's group there, Sophie.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Well, eight weeks away now, so it's becoming real.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Amy will be sharing her birth experience on Outspoken very soon.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It will be available for everyone to listen to.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I know she's raring to get back on the mic.
- 3:26Speaker 2: She's like, can I do it this week?
- 3:27Speaker 1: I'm like, babe, it's a shorter week. We've already lost
- 3:30Speaker 1: Monday and Friday. That is why this episode is coming
- 3:32Speaker 1: to you on Wednesday. But I feel like no one
- 3:34Speaker 1: really knows what day of the week it is at
- 3:36Speaker 1: the moment.
- 3:36Speaker 2: No, I've got no clue.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Maybe if I fucking blasted this fucking scumbag and this
- 3:41Speaker 4: family's name already earlier, she wouldn't have had to deal
- 3:44Speaker 4: with what she dealt with.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Michaela Tester has dropped the third installment in her explosive
- 3:48Speaker 1: podcast series centered on the Paul family. In the two-hour episode,
- 3:52Speaker 1: the OnlyFans creator championed the voices of Addis Paul's other
- 3:56Speaker 1: alleged victims. It was definitely a very heavy episode to
- 3:59Speaker 1: listen to, but I want to kick things off today
- 4:02Speaker 1: with some of the lighter moments which were sprinkled throughout
- 4:04Speaker 1: this episode because there were.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Definitely quite a few.
- 4:07Speaker 1: One was Michaela sharing her reaction to Addis Paul's infamous
- 4:12Speaker 1: rebrand from cryptocurrency dickhead to sensitive and softly smoking art lover.
- 4:17Speaker 1: This was so funny. And hats off to Michaela's fiance,
- 4:21Speaker 1: Maxwell Krauss, for this section. So listeners may not know,
- 4:24Speaker 1: but he actually edited Michaela's whole podcast series. And the
- 4:28Speaker 1: way he juxtapositions certain upsets and videos of Addis during
- 4:32Speaker 1: Michaela's takedown of him was genius. I feel like he
- 4:35Speaker 1: probably got a kick out of it. Let's listen to
- 4:37Speaker 1: some of them.
- 4:38Speaker 3: So yeah, seeing him be this golden retriever energy, lovey-dovey
- 4:43Speaker 3: fucking guy. When this is the reality of who Addis is.
- 4:48Speaker 5: Hold back on my dumbass bitch ex. Besides being absolutely
- 4:51Speaker 5: rich as fuck, I went out on my $ 4 million balcony.
- 4:54Speaker 2: This is that $ 100 fucking thousand dollar wall on my house.
- 4:56Speaker 5: Also, look at my new necklace.
- 4:58Speaker 4: I was going to buy pearls, but that's for broke fucks.
- 5:00Speaker 3: And his sister is enabling this fucking rebrand. I was
- 5:03Speaker 3: watching this rebrand happen and I was so shocked. And
- 5:05Speaker 3: I was like, these people are buying this shit. When
- 5:08Speaker 3: I saw him dancing around on TikTok to Olivia Rodrigo.
- 5:18Speaker 3: You know, Taylor Swift and like growing his hair out
- 5:22Speaker 3: and fucking being all pale and kawaii K-pop shit. When
- 5:25Speaker 3: the man's never watched anime in his fucking life.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Fuck, that was funny.
- 5:31Speaker 1: For those who haven't seen these videos, it's difficult to
- 5:34Speaker 1: get the total vibe from just listening to the audio.
- 5:36Speaker 1: But this is when Addis was rebranding his new look
- 5:40Speaker 1: and he showed himself doing all of these bizarre TikTok dances.
- 5:44Speaker 1: And he literally looked like a different person. He grew
- 5:47Speaker 1: his hair really long. He got all of these piercings
- 5:50Speaker 1: and he started to wear makeup. And as Michaela touched on,
- 5:53Speaker 1: he had very pale skin. And it was actually around
- 5:56Speaker 1: this time that some people began to question whether whether
- 5:59Speaker 1: he was transitioning. And there were also rumors swirling.
- 6:02Speaker 2: About his sexuality.
- 6:04Speaker 1: And Michaela said she noticed that Addis began to imitate
- 6:07Speaker 1: and mimic Anna's cutesy, innocent persona that she's known for online.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Here's an example that she gave.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Something I've noticed that I think is the cutest thing ever.
- 6:15Speaker 4: People are calling me Johannes.
- 6:17Speaker 5: But the people, like not everybody, but the people that
- 6:18Speaker 5: have been following me for a while are saying like, oh,
- 6:20Speaker 5: I hope you've eaten today, Johannes.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I hope you're feeling good.
- 6:22Speaker 5: Like, how'd you know that's my name? Who told you
- 6:24Speaker 5: that's my real name? I'm upset about it. It's just
- 6:26Speaker 5: the cutest thing.
- 6:28Speaker 1: That makes my skin crawl knowing what we do know now.
- 6:30Speaker 1: And it's hard to believe anyone actually bought into this act,
- 6:34Speaker 1: but we did.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, we did a whole segment on his rebrand.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Well, in everyone's defense though, I think we are only
- 6:40Speaker 1: just learning now the level of manipulation and strategy that
- 6:43Speaker 1: was going on by the Paul family. And I remember
- 6:46Speaker 1: during this time, there was a lot of concern over Addis'
- 6:49Speaker 1: mental health because he had taken some time off socials
- 6:53Speaker 1: and it appeared as though he was really going through something.
- 6:56Speaker 1: And there was this thought, that maybe we'd all got
- 6:59Speaker 1: it wrong about him. And this cryptocurrency content was a
- 7:01Speaker 1: bit of an act. And it was almost as though
- 7:03Speaker 1: you couldn't question it.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It was a bit gaslighting, let's be honest.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And if you do look at the dates, it seems
- 7:09Speaker 1: to be the time that Addis was actually going through
- 7:11Speaker 1: his trial. Yeah, which really adds another element to it.
- 7:15Speaker 1: And I think that Anna really played into this rebrand
- 7:18Speaker 1: because She has previously said in TikToks that Addis was
- 7:21Speaker 1: simply playing a character online during his cryptocurrency days. So
- 7:25Speaker 1: in a TikTok, Anna claimed that Addis came to them
- 7:28Speaker 1: one night and said, should I pretend to be a
- 7:29Speaker 1: total fuckwit in my TikTok videos and see if it
- 7:33Speaker 1: goes off?
- 7:33Speaker 2: And it did.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Whilst Michaela did acknowledge that he exaggerated his personality in
- 7:39Speaker 1: these videos, she said it is essentially how he would
- 7:42Speaker 1: talk on a regular basis. She said he's a huge flexer.
- 7:45Speaker 1: and has a big ego. So she confirmed that this
- 7:48Speaker 1: is the real Addis Paul. And this was backed up
- 7:51Speaker 1: in Michaela's podcast with a TikTok that she shared, which
- 7:54Speaker 1: was created by a young woman who went to school
- 7:57Speaker 1: with the Pauls. She said she was best friends with
- 7:59Speaker 1: Addis Paul at that time and basically played the role
- 8:02Speaker 1: of mediator in his relationship with Alice Patterson. Just to
- 8:06Speaker 1: point out, we are now referring to Alice Patterson by
- 8:08Speaker 1: name and not calling her Jane. We did want to
- 8:11Speaker 1: give her some privacy, but in the last week, she
- 8:13Speaker 1: actually has come out and done an interview with the
- 8:15Speaker 1: Courier Mail talking about her experience with Addis Pohl and
- 8:18Speaker 1: said that she was happy to be named. And she's
- 8:20Speaker 1: also been very vocal on her own TikTok. So for
- 8:23Speaker 1: anyone who wants to check out her content on there,
- 8:25Speaker 1: they can. Now, this high school friend claimed that both
- 8:28Speaker 1: Addis and Anna are putting on an act and performing
- 8:31Speaker 1: for views. She said that Addis wasn't charitable or giving
- 8:35Speaker 1: in any way. And she said at school... he would
- 8:37Speaker 1: actually piss up the walls every time he went to
- 8:40Speaker 1: the toilet because he thought it was funny that someone
- 8:43Speaker 1: had to clean it up. Is it sad that it
- 8:45Speaker 1: actually takes me back to my high school days? Not
- 8:46Speaker 1: that I did that, but it reminds me of the
- 8:48Speaker 1: stuff that.
- 8:50Speaker 2: The dickheads at our school used to do. Very immature.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Now, Michaela also spilt the tea on Anna's secret relationship
- 8:57Speaker 1: with Amarik Urbane. Now, for some background, Amarik started appearing
- 9:00Speaker 1: in Anna's content very shortly after her breakup with Glenn
- 9:04Speaker 1: and And Anna claimed that they weren't dating and he
- 9:06Speaker 1: was just this family friend. And a lot of people thought, oh,
- 9:09Speaker 1: is this Addis's boyfriend? Yeah. And it was weird that
- 9:12Speaker 1: she claimed he was a family friend because he just
- 9:14Speaker 1: suddenly popped up out of nowhere. He never previously appeared
- 9:18Speaker 1: in any content when Glenn was around and he started
- 9:20Speaker 1: traveling with her.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Pretty good family friend.
- 9:23Speaker 1: And as you said, Kate, there was a lot of confusion.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Is this Addis Paul's new boyfriend? Because this was around
- 9:28Speaker 1: the time that he was starting this rebrand and there
- 9:31Speaker 1: was a few question marks over his sexuality, which again,
- 9:34Speaker 1: I don't think is right for anyone to speculate on. Yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And Anna being silent on this relationship didn't help the
- 9:39Speaker 1: situation because fans started building their own narrative and put
- 9:42Speaker 1: two and two together and thought maybe she cheated on.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Glenn with Amrik.
- 9:46Speaker 1: And that's because Amrik started popping up literally the month
- 9:50Speaker 1: that she announced her breakup with Glenn. And as the
- 9:53Speaker 1: months went on, Amrik appeared in even more of Anna's
- 9:56Speaker 1: content and they looked very couple-y in a number of
- 9:58Speaker 1: her Instagram podcast. There was a video also that was
- 10:02Speaker 1: circulating at the start of the year of them making
- 10:05Speaker 1: out in a pool in the Whitsundays, which pretty much
- 10:07Speaker 1: confirmed that they are together. But still, there has been
- 10:10Speaker 1: no official confirmation from Anna whatsoever.
- 10:12Speaker 2: That they are a couple.
- 10:13Speaker 1: That is until now, because Michaela apparently got her intel
- 10:17Speaker 1: from Addis' most recent girlfriend, Jamiah, who confirmed the worst
- 10:21Speaker 1: kept secret, that they are in fact together.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Of course they are.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Now, Jamiah claims that Anna and Amrik met when he
- 10:28Speaker 1: had just turned 18 and Anna was 23. So there's
- 10:31Speaker 1: a five-year age gap between them. And the most interesting
- 10:35Speaker 1: detail of this story is that Amrik is allegedly the
- 10:38Speaker 1: son of the couple who own the stables and facilities
- 10:41Speaker 1: of that Anna's horse is kept at. So not a
- 10:45Speaker 1: family friend. And Jamiah says while Anna was still dating Glenn,
- 10:49Speaker 1: she started to develop a crush on Amrik. And Jamiah
- 10:52Speaker 1: believes there was some emotional cheating involved. Michaela did add
- 10:56Speaker 1: in that she had it on good authority that allegedly
- 10:59Speaker 1: it was full-blown cheating, so physical cheating as well. Jamiah
- 11:02Speaker 1: did go into bat for Amrik, though, and said that
- 11:04Speaker 1: he's a lovely guy and he would often look out
- 11:06Speaker 1: for her whilst they were travelling together. And she told
- 11:10Speaker 1: Michaela that Amrik is basically Anna's personal slave, allegedly, but
- 11:14Speaker 1: doesn't mind it because he gets free weed and gets
- 11:17Speaker 1: to travel the world. Look, I mean, I can see
- 11:20Speaker 1: where he's coming from. I mean, he's a young guy
- 11:22Speaker 1: getting to travel the world for free. If Anna says,
- 11:25Speaker 1: go get me a Eurus or go get me this
- 11:27Speaker 1: or that, it's pretty good exchange. Well, you're going to
- 11:30Speaker 1: feel indebted to that person, aren't you? There's going to
- 11:32Speaker 1: be a bit of a power imbalance going on.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely.
- 11:35Speaker 1: And Michaela also weighed in on Anna's relationship with Glenn.
- 11:39Speaker 1: She said that she exploited him and his kindness and
- 11:42Speaker 1: she made it clear that none of this information was
- 11:45Speaker 1: coming from Glenn and it was all her own opinion.
- 11:48Speaker 1: She did say that Glenn didn't like that Addis took
- 11:50Speaker 1: their OnlyFans photos though.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Well, who is going to like that? It is completely weird.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Now, aside from some of these lighter moments, part three
- 11:58Speaker 1: was all about giving a voice to Addis Paul's other
- 12:01Speaker 1: alleged victims, his most recent girlfriend, Jamiah, who we're, of course,
- 12:04Speaker 1: speaking about now, and his high school girlfriend, Alice Patterson. Now,
- 12:08Speaker 1: with permission from Jamiah, Michaela shared a number of disturbing
- 12:12Speaker 1: and downright disgusting text messages that Addis allegedly sent her. Oh.
- 12:17Speaker 2: They made my skin crawl. I felt really awkward even
- 12:20Speaker 2: just reading them.
- 12:22Speaker 1: And in a number of the text messages, Addis allegedly
- 12:25Speaker 1: called Jemiah his fetish and he said that he wanted
- 12:29Speaker 1: to feel her soft skin when he's inside of her.
- 12:31Speaker 1: They were a lot more graphic than that, but that's
- 12:33Speaker 1: probably one that we can talk.
- 12:34Speaker 2: About on this podcast.
- 12:36Speaker 1: And Jemiah has gone into detail about the alleged abuse
- 12:39Speaker 1: that she experienced whilst dating Addis Paul on her own
- 12:41Speaker 1: TikTok account. One of the videos has already attracted well
- 12:44Speaker 1: over a million views and the other is sitting on
- 12:46Speaker 1: the 700 000 view mark and this is despite the
- 12:49Speaker 1: fact that she only just made up her account this
- 12:51Speaker 1: is the first video she's ever put out there i
- 12:53Speaker 1: mean michaela did share them on her own platforms but
- 12:55Speaker 1: they've obviously got a lot of traction i sat there
- 12:58Speaker 1: absolutely glued to them they were hard to watch but
- 13:02Speaker 1: i do think it gave a very interesting insight into
- 13:04Speaker 1: their relationship it was apparent just how young she was
- 13:07Speaker 1: and shaken she was you could see in her eyes
- 13:10Speaker 1: that she was terrified and And I really applaud her
- 13:13Speaker 1: for her bravery for speaking out. It would be very difficult,
- 13:16Speaker 1: particularly to put out text messages between you and your
- 13:20Speaker 1: partner at the time.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 1: And what I found so hard watching both Michaela and
- 13:24Speaker 1: Jamiah tell their stories is They really still do blame
- 13:28Speaker 1: themselves despite them being the victims. Now we won't go
- 13:32Speaker 1: into what she said as she did make some very
- 13:34Speaker 1: serious allegations and for legal reasons we can't cover them. Yeah,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and we would hate to jeopardise any information that could
- 13:40Speaker 1: potentially be used in court because Michaela has since come
- 13:43Speaker 1: out and said that she and the other women are
- 13:45Speaker 1: are in the process of going to the police about
- 13:47Speaker 1: their allegations, which I think is a really good move.
- 13:50Speaker 1: What we can talk about is that Jamiah believes, just
- 13:53Speaker 1: like Michaela, that Anna started copying certain traits of her personality.
- 13:57Speaker 1: So Jamiah explained that she has autism and she alleges
- 14:01Speaker 1: that Anna started playing up certain quirks in her videos
- 14:04Speaker 1: and essentially started pretending to be autistic. Michaela backed this
- 14:08Speaker 1: up by sharing a couple of Anna's past videos and
- 14:12Speaker 1: I can definitely see where Jemima is coming from. And
- 14:15Speaker 1: Michaela said that Anna does this because whenever Addis has
- 14:17Speaker 1: a new girlfriend, she tries to be whoever he's dating.
- 14:21Speaker 2: That's very strange.
- 14:23Speaker 1: When I was watching part three, one thing that really
- 14:25Speaker 1: stuck out to me was just how racked with guilt
- 14:28Speaker 1: Michaela is over how things played out online with Alice Patterson.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Now we have spoken in depth about this in previous episodes,
- 14:35Speaker 1: but in 2021, when Alice was just 16 years old,
- 14:39Speaker 1: She made a TikTok about dating an older man who
- 14:41Speaker 1: took advantage of her. Now, the man she was referring
- 14:44Speaker 1: to was Addis Paul and Alice alleges that she was
- 14:47Speaker 1: only 13 at the time when she was dating a
- 14:50Speaker 1: then 16-year-old Addis.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Now, Michaela alleged in.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Part one that Addis and Anna tried to silence Alice
- 14:56Speaker 1: by sending a fake cease and desist letter and then
- 14:58Speaker 1: slamming her in an online video. Michaela then released very
- 15:02Speaker 1: unflattering behind-the-scenes vision of Anna and Addis conspiring to get
- 15:06Speaker 1: their story right and being condescending about Alice, calling her
- 15:09Speaker 1: a little girl and Addis joking that he never found
- 15:12Speaker 1: her attractive. And you could hear Michaela's voice in the
- 15:15Speaker 1: background of these videos, also coaching them on what to say.
- 15:18Speaker 1: And she has since said that she feels immense guilt
- 15:21Speaker 1: over this and for believing Addis and not speaking up sooner.
- 15:26Speaker 1: And it is clear that this podcast series for Michaela
- 15:28Speaker 1: is all about righting a wrong because she got really
- 15:31Speaker 1: emotional at the end of the episode and said she
- 15:33Speaker 1: wants to fix what Alice had to go through. and
- 15:36Speaker 1: save any other girls from experiencing what they've all experienced.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Here's what she said.
- 15:41Speaker 4: And it's taken me years to fucking say this story.
- 15:44Speaker 4: It's taken me such a long fucking time to come
- 15:48Speaker 4: on camera and speak and say the shit I witnessed,
- 15:52Speaker 4: to say my fucking story, give receipts, back Alice up,
- 15:55Speaker 4: fix my wrongs. Because I hurt that girl and it
- 16:00Speaker 4: fucking ate me alive up every day to know that
- 16:02Speaker 4: I had these receipts on my laptop. I had the proof.
- 16:06Speaker 4: And I wasn't fucking showing anyone because I was weak
- 16:08Speaker 4: as fucking piss. And me not speaking up caused Jemma
- 16:13Speaker 4: to get fucking hurt. Maybe if I fucking blasted this
- 16:17Speaker 4: fucking scumbag and this family's name already earlier, she wouldn't
- 16:20Speaker 4: have had to deal with what she dealt with.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Now, Michaela went on to say that she's not just
- 16:24Speaker 1: a victim, but she was an enabler. And she's only
- 16:27Speaker 1: really realized the gravity of the situation that she was
- 16:30Speaker 1: in with Addison, how abusive it was. since she's been
- 16:33Speaker 1: with her fiance, Max Krause. Yeah, and she just spoke
- 16:36Speaker 1: with so much awareness in this podcast series. And it
- 16:39Speaker 1: was in stark contrast to Anna, who took zero accountability
- 16:43Speaker 1: for her actions and tried to deflect the whole time.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Because Michaela sat there and said, I'm not the perfect victim.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I did play a part in all of this. I
- 16:51Speaker 1: feel immensely guilty over it, but I want to right
- 16:53Speaker 1: this wrong. And I think that that's very commendable. She
- 16:56Speaker 1: also touched on her childhood trauma and being diagnosed with
- 16:59Speaker 1: borderline personality disorder, during her relationship with Addis. And she
- 17:03Speaker 1: said she doesn't always get everything right. Interestingly, she did
- 17:07Speaker 1: reveal that she hasn't actually left her house since March 3rd.
- 17:10Speaker 1: So she's been inside for over six weeks. She's essentially
- 17:13Speaker 1: in hiding whilst Anna is just gallivanting around the world
- 17:16Speaker 1: and popping up at Coachella.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Which we will be talking about shortly.
- 17:19Speaker 1: We did touch on it a little bit earlier in
- 17:21Speaker 1: this segment, but I do want to commend Alice Patterson
- 17:23Speaker 1: and The Courier Mail. Alice agreed to be interviewed by
- 17:25Speaker 1: the publication, and it is just so brave of her
- 17:28Speaker 1: to share her story in the mainstream media. I would
- 17:30Speaker 1: highly recommend everyone go and read that article.
- 17:33Speaker 5: A lot of times when you guys see your favorite
- 17:35Speaker 5: influencers at Coachella, they're here on a brand deal. So
- 17:37Speaker 5: the brand will pay for their pass, their hotel or Airbnb.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Coachella 2025 did not disappoint. The music festival dubbed the
- 17:45Speaker 1: Influencer Olympics has been dominating for you, Pages, thanks to
- 17:49Speaker 1: the outrageous fashion and the attendance of one controversial influencer.
- 17:54Speaker 1: But outside of the brand activations and influencer villas, things
- 17:58Speaker 1: weren't very Instagrammable to begin with, Kate. No, some people
- 18:01Speaker 1: have actually started comparing Coachella to the infamous Fyre Festival
- 18:05Speaker 1: and So a mix of near record high temperatures and
- 18:09Speaker 1: a traffic situation had some festival goers describing it as
- 18:12Speaker 1: literal hell. So thousands of patrons were trapped in traffic
- 18:16Speaker 1: for up to 12 hours to get into the grounds
- 18:19Speaker 1: in 38 degree heat. And many attendees complained the conditions
- 18:23Speaker 1: were the worst since the festival began in 1999. As
- 18:27Speaker 1: someone who has been involved in music festivals before and
- 18:30Speaker 1: had situations evolve with the weather, I really hope that
- 18:33Speaker 1: there was an organiser who thought about handing out cold
- 18:37Speaker 1: water in the queue.
- 18:38Speaker 2: There probably was.
- 18:39Speaker 1: They probably had an EFTPOS machine for like $ 20 for
- 18:41Speaker 1: each bottle of water. Now, things did get back on track,
- 18:44Speaker 1: but at the end of weekend one, Palm Springs was
- 18:48Speaker 1: actually rocked by a 5.2 magnitude earthquake.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Can you imagine the.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Organisers are just like, for fuck's sake, 38 degrees and
- 18:55Speaker 1: an earthquake.
- 18:56Speaker 2: We really don't need this.
- 18:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Now, as you said earlier, Soph, Coachella is the Influencer
- 19:01Speaker 1: Olympics and every influencer and their dog is either at
- 19:04Speaker 1: the festival or wishing they were there. I saw a
- 19:07Speaker 1: lot of influencers doing throwbacks. So Steph, Claire Smith and
- 19:10Speaker 1: Tully Smythe. It's almost like they're like, oh, we're in
- 19:13Speaker 1: our 30s now, so we're not going to get invited.
- 19:15Speaker 1: So let's throw back to when we were there. These
- 19:17Speaker 1: throwback photos were everywhere. And I did really enjoy looking
- 19:20Speaker 1: through them and seeing how the fashion has changed at Coachella,
- 19:23Speaker 1: but also seeing how much has changed in just a
- 19:26Speaker 1: short period of time. Because these are not old school photos.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Some of them were taken like five years ago.
- 19:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I feel like Steph Klessmith was wishing that she was
- 19:32Speaker 1: at Coachella because she's currently, I think she's 35 weeks pregnant,
- 19:36Speaker 1: just moved house. As someone who's a couple of weeks
- 19:38Speaker 1: behind her, I feel her pain. You're just not feeling
- 19:40Speaker 1: your best. And then you're probably seeing all these hot
- 19:41Speaker 1: photos of you at Coachella, living your best life.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Well, one influencer that I thought would not be there
- 19:48Speaker 1: was there.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Because when you're embroiled.
- 19:49Speaker 1: In the biggest influencer scandal of the decade, you think
- 19:52Speaker 1: you might sit it out. But no, Anna Paul made
- 19:55Speaker 1: a surprising Coachella appearance and she's really going with the
- 19:59Speaker 1: PR strategy of ignore and get on with her life.
- 20:02Speaker 1: So she documented her time at the festival on Instagram
- 20:05Speaker 1: and Snapchat. What do you think of her outfit? Because
- 20:07Speaker 1: she was wearing... baggy jeans and a pair of sunnies and.
- 20:11Speaker 2: A sheer top.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Look, I feel like I'm too old to comment on
- 20:13Speaker 1: it because I feel like, you know, even popping past
- 20:16Speaker 1: Marion Shopping Centre during school holidays and seeing what some
- 20:19Speaker 1: of the young kids are wearing is a bit eye-opening.
- 20:23Speaker 2: You know, she looked good.
- 20:24Speaker 1: I mean, at least her outfit looked somewhat comfortable.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Yeah, true.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I'd rather be getting around in some baggy jeans and
- 20:31Speaker 1: some comfortable shoes, but It was not really her outfit
- 20:35Speaker 1: that struck me. It was the absolute gore of her
- 20:37Speaker 1: to be there and posting about it like nothing happened. Oh,
- 20:39Speaker 1: it was a fucking piss take, wasn't it? Now, people
- 20:41Speaker 1: like us, we're not happy. One person wrote, how are
- 20:44Speaker 1: you at Coachella? Like genuinely, what happened to shame? Someone
- 20:48Speaker 1: else added, if she truly cared or truly was innocent,
- 20:51Speaker 1: she wouldn't be at Coachella. She'd be back in Australia.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Another said, Anna Paul having the balls to be at
- 20:55Speaker 1: Coachella right now as if nothing has happened is crazy.
- 20:58Speaker 1: And this is the thing, like some people might be thinking, oh, well,
- 21:01Speaker 1: she's in a different country. People in America probably aren't aware.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Of this controversy.
- 21:06Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 21:06Speaker 2: They are. This was global.
- 21:07Speaker 1: If anything, the Americans are more across it than us.
- 21:10Speaker 1: They are obsessed with Anna Paul. And to add further
- 21:13Speaker 1: intrigue to this whole story, it appears the controversial influencer
- 21:17Speaker 1: James Charles hosted Anna at the house he rented for Coachella.
- 21:21Speaker 1: So yeah, first people were speculating perhaps they were just
- 21:23Speaker 1: on a brand trip together. But James revealed on TikTok
- 21:27Speaker 1: that he actually pays his own way at Coachella. So
- 21:30Speaker 1: in a video, he said he hasn't been happy with
- 21:32Speaker 1: the VIP treatment at Coachella and went on a rant
- 21:35Speaker 1: about how he no longer accepts invites from brands anymore.
- 21:39Speaker 2: This is what he said.
- 21:39Speaker 5: A lot of times when you guys see your favorite
- 21:41Speaker 5: influencers at Coachella, they're here on a brand deal. So
- 21:44Speaker 5: the brand will pay for their pass, their hotel or Airbnb, security,
- 21:47Speaker 5: a driver, and then an exchange. The influencer has to
- 21:50Speaker 5: do branded content. Now, the last time that I accepted
- 21:53Speaker 5: a brand deal at Coachella was... was sugar bear hair.
- 21:56Speaker 5: And we all saw how that went. So ever since then,
- 21:59Speaker 5: I have politely declined any Coachella brand deals, which is
- 22:02Speaker 5: totally fine. But that does mean every year I have
- 22:04Speaker 5: to pay for my own artist passes for myself and
- 22:06Speaker 5: my team. And they are really expensive.
- 22:09Speaker 1: I really love this insight because I find it fascinating
- 22:12Speaker 1: that influencers will big scale influencers don't want to accept
- 22:15Speaker 1: a free ticket anymore because they don't want to be
- 22:17Speaker 1: bound to all of these restrictions and have to create
- 22:20Speaker 1: all this content because it looks rather tiring. So the
- 22:22Speaker 1: fact that they have so much money that they'd rather
- 22:24Speaker 1: pay their own way and be allowed to do what
- 22:26Speaker 1: they want to do, it's really interesting. I also had
- 22:30Speaker 1: a laugh when James referenced Sugar Bear Hair. So for
- 22:33Speaker 1: those not across the drama, Sugar Bear Hair is a
- 22:35Speaker 1: vitamin company that was in direct competition with with James's
- 22:39Speaker 1: then friend, Taddy Westbrook. So James's collaboration with this rival
- 22:43Speaker 1: vitamin company actually sparked the drama that went down in
- 22:47Speaker 1: 2019 between James and Taddy, which was dubbed Dramageddon 2.0.
- 22:54Speaker 1: People are trying to work out how James and Anna
- 22:57Speaker 1: are connected and how are they friends. And it's quite
- 22:59Speaker 1: interesting when you delve deeper into it because they are
- 23:02Speaker 1: both managed by Sam Magnin. So Sam is the co-founder
- 23:06Speaker 1: of Anna's skincare brand, Pauly. And he also is a
- 23:09Speaker 1: friend of the show. So I am a big fan
- 23:11Speaker 1: of Sam Magnin.
- 23:12Speaker 2: He is a fabulous guy. Yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 1: We have had him on the show, I think a
- 23:15Speaker 1: couple of times now, and he's always been so generous
- 23:18Speaker 1: with his time. And he's actually someone I really respect
- 23:20Speaker 1: in the industry. So I felt very uncomfortable when I
- 23:24Speaker 1: saw Michaela Testa calling him out. Well, because he has
- 23:28Speaker 1: his own PR company called Spin & Co.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Yeah, as you said, he's also the co-founder of Annapool's business.
- 23:33Speaker 1: And they've done some fabulous things on the Gold Coast.
- 23:35Speaker 1: They've worked with some massive brands. And he is very clever,
- 23:39Speaker 1: very strategic. He's also the brother of one of my
- 23:41Speaker 1: favorite influencers, Courtney Mangan.
- 23:43Speaker 2: This is all getting very messy. Yes, this is all
- 23:45Speaker 2: hit home, hasn't it?
- 23:46Speaker 1: So on Michaela's Instagram story, Obviously, everyone was talking about
- 23:51Speaker 1: James Charles and Anna Paul and sort of talking about,
- 23:54Speaker 1: as you said, how they were connected. And she wrote,
- 23:56Speaker 1: he's also managed by the same man that manages Anna Paul.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Is it a coincidence I've been botted recently? I don't know.
- 24:02Speaker 1: She also said, Kris Jenner works harder, but Sam Mangan works.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Harder, allegedly.
- 24:06Speaker 1: From knowing what I know about Sam Mangan, I don't
- 24:08Speaker 1: think that he's sitting around sending bots to Michaela Tester.
- 24:11Speaker 2: No. I don't think. I think that's out of Paul, probably.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Well, yeah. He was just recently on a European vacation
- 24:17Speaker 1: with his family. They're on a very special trip. which
- 24:20Speaker 1: he actually gifted to his sister Courtney when she was
- 24:23Speaker 1: diagnosed with cancer. And due to COVID, this trip kept
- 24:26Speaker 1: getting pushed back. But they have been holidaying. They've been
- 24:29Speaker 1: having the time of their lives. I don't think that
- 24:31Speaker 1: he's sitting around sending bots to anyone. I don't think
- 24:33Speaker 1: that's in his personality.
- 24:34Speaker 2: To do so. He's very professional.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Also, coming from the perspective of people who have worked
- 24:39Speaker 1: in PR, like when I used to manage the LA
- 24:42Speaker 1: 36's media, I would suggest to do things to the
- 24:45Speaker 1: owner of the club. Did he listen all the time? No.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Did he do a lot of things that I didn't
- 24:49Speaker 2: agree with?
- 24:50Speaker 1: Yes. So you can only provide your guidance. But if
- 24:53Speaker 1: people are going off the rails, like, I mean, Michaela
- 24:55Speaker 1: Tester spoke about how Addis Paul and her used to
- 24:58Speaker 1: send bots out. So you can give people advice, but
- 25:00Speaker 1: you can't control what they actually do. You also remember,
- 25:02Speaker 1: he's in a very sticky situation. If you're working with
- 25:05Speaker 1: a client and they come to you and they need
- 25:07Speaker 1: crisis management, you have got to provide them with that service,
- 25:11Speaker 1: even if you don't necessarily agree with with what they've
- 25:14Speaker 1: done or what they're doing. You have to provide that
- 25:16Speaker 1: professional guidance to them. I mean, he's also in this
- 25:19Speaker 1: very deep because he has a business with Anna Paul.
- 25:21Speaker 1: So it's not like he can go, oh, look, I
- 25:22Speaker 1: don't want to represent you anymore. When it was announced
- 25:25Speaker 1: that he was going into business with Anna Paul, everyone
- 25:28Speaker 1: thought that this was an absolute stroke of genius.
- 25:29Speaker 2: I mean, I did.
- 25:30Speaker 1: She was the most popular and well-loved Australian influencer.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:34Speaker 2: He's not to know what's going on behind the scenes.
- 25:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Anyway, back to Anna Paul because she's back on TikTok now.
- 25:40Speaker 1: She's vlogging like nothing has happened. She's been all over Snapchat.
- 25:43Speaker 1: It took me so long to get through all of
- 25:44Speaker 1: her Snapchat stories from Coachella. It's interesting that she feels
- 25:47Speaker 1: more comfortable on Snapchat than TikTok because she only brought
- 25:49Speaker 1: the TikTok video out on Tuesday.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Is that because there's no comment section?
- 25:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I also think that Snapchat is a big earner for
- 25:55Speaker 1: these influencers and they have to keep up with the
- 25:57Speaker 1: hours in order to monetize it. Now, Anna has also
- 26:01Speaker 1: been spotted on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles with none
- 26:04Speaker 1: other than Harry Jowsey.
- 26:06Speaker 2: I have to put it out there. I am not
- 26:07Speaker 2: a fan of that guy.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Oh, I couldn't stand him on Too Hot to Handle.
- 26:10Speaker 1: He has a podcast, so people are predicting that maybe
- 26:13Speaker 1: she is going to pop up on his podcast, giving
- 26:16Speaker 1: her side of the story. I don't know if that's
- 26:18Speaker 1: the best format. Oh my God, imagine if she was
- 26:21Speaker 1: on Call Her Daddy. Now that would be genius. That
- 26:24Speaker 1: would be a real game changer, I think, having the
- 26:26Speaker 1: support of Alex Cooper.
- 26:27Speaker 2: I Don't think Alex Cooper would get on board.
- 26:29Speaker 1: For it, but I definitely don't think appearing on Harry
- 26:32Speaker 1: Jowsey's podcast is going to be great for everything going on.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I don't think everyone's going to be like, oh my God,
- 26:37Speaker 1: I totally see her side of things. Yeah, I think
- 26:39Speaker 1: it's just going to make things worse. Anna did give
- 26:42Speaker 1: a little bit of an insight on Snapchat about how
- 26:44Speaker 1: she was feeling.
- 26:45Speaker 2: This is what she said.
- 26:46Speaker 4: I bought myself earrings.
- 26:48Speaker 2: It was a little sad. I was in bed till 3pm,
- 26:51Speaker 2: which is sad. The email department wasn't journaling and shit.
- 26:55Speaker 2: I'm like, you know what, I have to leave the house.
- 26:58Speaker 4: And I wrote down in my notes just then.
- 26:59Speaker 2: That leaving the house is the answer.
- 27:02Speaker 5: It was sad.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Like, even the fact that you're walking to work like that, like,
- 27:06Speaker 2: heals you. Like, going outside actually heals you.
- 27:08Speaker 4: So if there's ever a day where you're rotting.
- 27:10Speaker 2: In bed and you're sad, you have.
- 27:11Speaker 3: What the fuck is this shit?
- 27:13Speaker 4: If there's ever a day where you're rotting in bed,
- 27:15Speaker 4: you have to go outside and it will heal you.
- 27:17Speaker 2: You already know that, but that's just facts. They just
- 27:20Speaker 2: really got.
- 27:20Speaker 5: Proof to me.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Again, I suppose this is at least her sort of
- 27:24Speaker 1: half acknowledging what's going on. But she's kind of just
- 27:27Speaker 1: making herself the victim, isn't she? It's like, oh, I
- 27:28Speaker 1: feel sad.
- 27:29Speaker 2: And it's also like, oh, look at me.
- 27:31Speaker 1: I'm such a fantastic friend. This is something that I
- 27:32Speaker 1: sent to another friend who's struggling. I don't like the
- 27:36Speaker 1: way that she tells everyone what they should be doing
- 27:38Speaker 1: or how they should be reacting to things. I think
- 27:42Speaker 1: she's got to rebrand now. I mean, we saw Addis
- 27:45Speaker 1: have success with rebranding.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Maybe she needs to rebrand.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the good girl act is gone now.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Maybe just come out and just be like, yeah, I'm
- 27:52Speaker 1: not a great person.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Here's me.
- 27:54Speaker 1: On holiday like yeah this is me being rich you
- 27:57Speaker 1: know some people like that sort of she could go
- 27:59Speaker 1: back to what addis originally was now so you did
- 28:03Speaker 1: touch upon that we are not fashionistas and i am
- 28:06Speaker 1: not saying oh hey i did not say i was
- 28:07Speaker 1: not a fashionista i said that i couldn't comment on
- 28:10Speaker 1: gen z fashion because some of it is so ridiculous
- 28:13Speaker 1: And I'm not in that age bracket to be a
- 28:15Speaker 1: cross at all. Yeah. Well, again, I have just been
- 28:18Speaker 1: wearing active wear for the last year. So, again, I'm
- 28:20Speaker 1: not someone to criticize people's looks, but we're going to
- 28:22Speaker 1: talk about the fashion. Yeah.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Because in the last couple of years, it has been.
- 28:26Speaker 1: A bit cringe to make a big effort at Coachella.
- 28:28Speaker 2: We saw celebrities.
- 28:30Speaker 1: And influencers opting for more comfortable festival looks, think denim
- 28:33Speaker 1: and leather. And the general vibe was that it was low-level,
- 28:36Speaker 1: attention-seeking influencers wearing crazy outfits. And I think it was
- 28:40Speaker 1: really a way for celebrities to distinguish themselves more from influencers.
- 28:45Speaker 1: It was sort of that way of being like, look,
- 28:46Speaker 1: I'm above all of this shit. I'm actually, I paid
- 28:48Speaker 1: for my own ticket. I'm here. I'm not actually having
- 28:50Speaker 1: to do any brand deals or film any content. Yeah.
- 28:53Speaker 1: And I think in 2025, it's flipped back to the
- 28:55Speaker 1: outrageous outfits that we came to expect from Coachella. And
- 28:59Speaker 1: a lot of people were like, oh no, but the
- 29:00Speaker 1: celebrities are still doing low key, but they weren't when
- 29:03Speaker 1: they were attending the events. We saw Kylie Jenner in
- 29:05Speaker 1: this absolutely stunning yellow dress. I had a plunging neckline
- 29:08Speaker 1: Paris Hilton was really getting into the outrageous fashion as well.
- 29:11Speaker 1: I think what celebrities wore really depended on what capacity
- 29:15Speaker 1: they were at the festival in. For Kylie, she was
- 29:18Speaker 1: appearing at a brand event, so she had to make
- 29:21Speaker 1: an effort. She probably had a designer who made that
- 29:23Speaker 1: dress for her.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Well, I'm sure she did.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I mean, she did rock up in white jeans and
- 29:26Speaker 1: a crop top later on just to enjoy. One person's
- 29:29Speaker 1: fashion that I really enjoyed following along at home was
- 29:32Speaker 1: Alex Earl. So she declared on TikTok that boobs were
- 29:34Speaker 1: back at Coachella and she wasn't wrong.
- 29:36Speaker 2: When have they not been in though, to be fair?
- 29:39Speaker 2: Now on day two.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Of the festival, she wore a bra style top embellished
- 29:43Speaker 1: with silver coins and ultra mini leather shorts. And she
- 29:47Speaker 1: accessorized the look with one of those Y2K leather belts
- 29:50Speaker 1: that made me feel very old and knee high leather boots.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Here's what she said about her outfit.
- 29:55Speaker 5: And this is our festival outfit for day two at Coachella.
- 29:59Speaker 1: I love it.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I told you guys we were bringing back the boobs
- 30:02Speaker 2: this year. We're gone last year.
- 30:04Speaker 1: They went away.
- 30:04Speaker 2: We're going to bring these and we're.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Ready to get bratty.
- 30:10Speaker 1: She's already bought the skinny jeans back. Now she's bringing
- 30:13Speaker 1: the boobs back. This works well for me because I've
- 30:15Speaker 1: actually got some boobs at the moment since being pregnant.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I don't think I'll be getting them out though. I
- 30:18Speaker 1: don't think anyone wants to see that. By next Coachella,
- 30:21Speaker 1: they'll be gone if you're anything like me.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Now, for those who haven't seen all of Alex's Coachella look,
- 30:27Speaker 1: she's really been channeling an early 2000s Christina Aguilera in
- 30:31Speaker 1: the dirty era.
- 30:33Speaker 2: And her looks have been very Y2K.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Do you know what I'm really disturbed about? A couple
- 30:38Speaker 1: of these mid-20s influencers who I follow are starting to
- 30:42Speaker 1: wear the 2012 big chunky necklaces again. I saw Saffron
- 30:46Speaker 1: Barker wearing one in her vlog and I was like,
- 30:48Speaker 1: I've just.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Thrown them all out.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I just can't get behind it again. I think that's
- 30:52Speaker 1: the rule. If you've done it once, you can't do
- 30:54Speaker 1: it again. I'm all into the dainty jewelry. And apparently
- 30:58Speaker 1: there's these teddy bear key rings that everyone's wearing on
- 31:01Speaker 1: their handbags as well.
- 31:03Speaker 2: And people are putting bandana.
- 31:04Speaker 1: This is just, this isn't even Coachella. This is just
- 31:06Speaker 1: general day-to-day fashion.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Oh, it's freaking me out.
- 31:09Speaker 1: It's making me feel really old because we've done it before.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Now back to Alex Earle's look.
- 31:14Speaker 1: While the Gen Zers were loving her day two look,
- 31:16Speaker 1: there were mixed reviews when it came to her day
- 31:19Speaker 1: three outfit. So while putting the look together for TikTok,
- 31:22Speaker 1: Alex admitted that she was exhausted and she wouldn't be
- 31:25Speaker 1: drinking because she had work commitments the next day. She
- 31:28Speaker 1: then started off by saying it would be a more
- 31:30Speaker 1: casual look But then proceeded to put on this vintage
- 31:33Speaker 1: Dolce & Gabbana V-neck graphic T-shirt that had cheetah print
- 31:37Speaker 1: on the back. She then added a cheetah print G-string
- 31:42Speaker 1: with this ultra mini hot pink ruffle shorts that went
- 31:46Speaker 1: down in a V at the back so you could
- 31:47Speaker 1: see her G-string. She then finished the look off again
- 31:50Speaker 1: with knee-high boots that were really fluffy and a white
- 31:53Speaker 1: leather Y2K belt.
- 31:55Speaker 2: She lost me at the cheetah G-string.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I mean, not the most comfortable thing to be getting around.
- 31:59Speaker 1: An all day festival in.
- 32:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I mean, it made more sense at M Davies hen's party,
- 32:04Speaker 1: but for Coachella, I don't know. I could just imagine
- 32:06Speaker 1: it being at a festival and someone coming up and
- 32:08Speaker 1: yanking it. I mean, absolutely no shame for wearing it
- 32:11Speaker 1: and I'm sure it looked great, but it was because
- 32:13Speaker 1: she prefaced by saying that she's going to be wearing
- 32:15Speaker 1: something more comfortable that day. I mean, there were a
- 32:18Speaker 1: lot of mixed reviews. One comment under Alex's video appeared
- 32:21Speaker 1: to resonate with a lot of people. The comment said,
- 32:24Speaker 1: This is what I look like when I'm cleaning out
- 32:25Speaker 1: my closet and start trying on random things I forgot
- 32:28Speaker 1: I had. Now that comment got over 43,000 likes. Another
- 32:31Speaker 1: popular comment with 32,000 likes was, am I the only
- 32:34Speaker 1: one that's.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Not getting it?
- 32:37Speaker 1: My favorite comment overall though was, it's giving Kath and
- 32:39Speaker 1: Kim for my Aussies, which was liked over 3,000 times.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Now it wasn't just Alex who brought the boobs back
- 32:46Speaker 1: to Coachella. Sofa Dofer stole the show for the Aussies
- 32:49Speaker 1: wearing a crochet bra top, fluffy skirt and knee high
- 32:52Speaker 1: boots today too. People said she looked like a bit
- 32:54Speaker 1: of a cave woman. Yeah, someone said it's giving Flintstones,
- 32:57Speaker 1: which made me laugh. A lot of people also compared
- 33:00Speaker 1: it to Alex Earle's look. I did take one for
- 33:02Speaker 1: the team and watch Sofa Dofa's one hour Coachella vlog.
- 33:06Speaker 1: And she spoke about how she hadn't really put that
- 33:08Speaker 1: much effort into her festival looks and was shocked by
- 33:10Speaker 1: everyone saying how good they were. I think people also
- 33:13Speaker 1: got behind Sofa Dofa's Coachella looks because they feel sorry
- 33:17Speaker 1: for her after she was recently dragged into the Anna
- 33:19Speaker 1: Paul drama. Michaela Testa alleged that Anna Paul would always
- 33:22Speaker 1: comment about her close set eyes, which she does not have. Yeah,
- 33:27Speaker 1: it's absolutely ridiculous. And I think a lot of people
- 33:29Speaker 1: are wondering if they ran into each other at the festival.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Someone said, would pay a lot to see you walk
- 33:33Speaker 1: past and scoff at Anna Paul at Coachella this year.
- 33:36Speaker 1: One thing I've noticed recently on TikTok is everyone's.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Like, she ate. And I was like, what?
- 33:41Speaker 1: Fuck you are old Kate. People have been saying that
- 33:43Speaker 1: for so long. I don't like it.
- 33:44Speaker 2: It means that you have done well. Like that outfit's amazing.
- 33:48Speaker 2: I finally got what it meant, but I was like,
- 33:50Speaker 2: have you never ever heard that? I'm quite concerned.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Look, I've been in a baby bubble for about 10 months.
- 33:55Speaker 2: I haven't seen this everywhere. No, it's fucked. That's been
- 33:57Speaker 2: going on for about over a year, I think. Two years, maybe.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I don't like it. I don't like it.
- 34:02Speaker 1: One thing I did like though on TikTok was Brittany
- 34:05Speaker 1: Saunders Coachella look.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Yes. This was absolutely iconic.
- 34:08Speaker 1: So Brittany and her podcast host, Alex Hay, they were
- 34:12Speaker 1: dressed as Bunnings workers. So they had their green aprons on,
- 34:17Speaker 1: the red shirts. And what I loved is that literally
- 34:20Speaker 1: no Americans would have got it. Like it's only the
- 34:22Speaker 1: Aussies who would have known what the.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Fuck they were on about. Yeah, it was so good. Again,
- 34:27Speaker 2: that would have been a comfortable outfit to get around
- 34:29Speaker 2: in all day.
- 34:29Speaker 1: I also liked that they probably weren't going to get
- 34:32Speaker 1: really bad sunburn like the rest of them.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Like they actually had a T-shirt on. Sun safety. Now
- 34:36Speaker 2: I do want to talk.
- 34:37Speaker 1: About Australian fashion brand Peppermayo because their Coachella content isn't
- 34:42Speaker 1: going to plan well. The Sydney Fast Fashion House sent
- 34:45Speaker 1: a bunch of UK influencers to Palm Springs, including Love Islanders,
- 34:48Speaker 1: Lucinda Stratford and Sophie Piper. And it looks like no
- 34:52Speaker 1: expense was spared with the influencers living it up in
- 34:54Speaker 1: this luxury villa.
- 34:55Speaker 2: They were also driving around.
- 34:56Speaker 1: In G-wagons embossed with the Pepe Mayo logo. Now, the
- 35:00Speaker 1: brand has definitely been making the most of the trip.
- 35:02Speaker 1: They've been pumping out the content with influencers wearing their clothes.
- 35:06Speaker 2: However, people aren't.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Focusing on the clothes. Instead, the videos have been flooded
- 35:11Speaker 1: by angry customers questioning how Peppermayo can pay for the
- 35:14Speaker 1: extravagant trip for influencers while their customers are still waiting
- 35:18Speaker 1: on online orders. Yeah, it feels like a bit of
- 35:20Speaker 1: a white fox situation. There's been a lot of customers
- 35:24Speaker 1: who are very unhappy their orders have not arrived. One
- 35:27Speaker 1: customer wrote, spends money on influencers to go to Coachella,
- 35:30Speaker 1: but I can't get a refund for a dress I
- 35:33Speaker 1: ordered one and a half months ago and never received.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Whilst another said shocking company, they spend all of our
- 35:39Speaker 1: money paying influencers rather than paying the time slash resources.
- 35:43Speaker 2: On our orders.
- 35:44Speaker 1: While someone else said, where are my dresses? I have
- 35:46Speaker 1: sent you over five emails with only AI responses. Some
- 35:50Speaker 1: customers have also accused the brand of deleting their complaints.
- 35:54Speaker 1: So a TikToker called Serona shared a video with the caption,
- 35:57Speaker 1: me getting ready to contact the police and then in brackets,
- 35:59Speaker 1: a current affair. Because Peppa Mayo keeps deleting comments on
- 36:03Speaker 1: Instagram for me and other girls asking what packages are.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Someone who has worked at Today Tonight, which is basically
- 36:09Speaker 1: a spinoff of a current affair, contact them yeah they
- 36:12Speaker 1: literally have someone sitting by the phone waiting for these
- 36:14Speaker 1: types of stories and if you're willing to speak they
- 36:17Speaker 1: will do a whole package on this yeah well pepper
- 36:19Speaker 1: mayo did end up commenting on the video apologizing for
- 36:22Speaker 1: the issue saying that they would look into it and
- 36:24Speaker 1: to dm the directly.
- 36:25Speaker 2: So they were obviously worried then i mean there.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Were so many comments and they kept being like dm
- 36:29Speaker 1: us directly it's like how about you just fix the
- 36:31Speaker 1: issue and it's not the first time that pepper mayo
- 36:34Speaker 1: has made headlines for not fulfilling orders A US customer
- 36:37Speaker 1: went viral last year when she shared an order receipt
- 36:40Speaker 1: for a dress that never arrived. It did end up
- 36:43Speaker 1: that the brand wasn't actually at fault, though. A representative
- 36:46Speaker 1: confirmed that the customer had been scammed by a counterfeit
- 36:49Speaker 1: website with the same name, except it had a double
- 36:53Speaker 1: R for pepper. So are they trying to play this
- 36:56Speaker 1: off as the issue this time, do you think? Well,
- 36:59Speaker 1: I haven't seen them use it as an excuse. They
- 37:01Speaker 1: just keep saying DM me directly. I do want to
- 37:03Speaker 1: end the Coachella wrap with a positive.
- 37:06Speaker 2: How good was.
- 37:07Speaker 1: It to see Heidi Montag performing at Coachella and Spencer
- 37:11Speaker 1: Pratt absolutely hyping her up? Everyone has compared him to
- 37:14Speaker 1: the mum in Mean Girls when she's filming their Christmas
- 37:16Speaker 1: performance because he was there with an old school video camera,
- 37:20Speaker 1: just absolutely going nuts.
- 37:22Speaker 2: And the thing is, I.
- 37:23Speaker 1: First saw this pop up on my TikTok feed, of course,
- 37:26Speaker 1: and it was zoomed in and I was like, oh
- 37:28Speaker 1: my God, is she on the main stage? But it
- 37:30Speaker 1: became apparent. that this was at Coachella, but it was
- 37:33Speaker 1: at a brand event.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Well, good on them. But there weren't really many people there.
- 37:38Speaker 1: To be fair, though, she was singing live. She's probably
- 37:40Speaker 1: one of the only artists that was singing live.
- 37:42Speaker 2: That shocked me because for anyone.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Who has listened to her songs over.
- 37:46Speaker 2: The whole LA Fires situation, it's very techno.
- 37:50Speaker 1: And I was actually surprised at how good she sounded.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Yeah, she did sound very good.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I love the video that Spencer shared of her driving
- 37:57Speaker 1: herself to Coachella. She had her hair pinned. And she
- 38:01Speaker 1: was just singing along in the car to her own songs. Well,
- 38:05Speaker 1: that's where we're going to leave things today. Thank you
- 38:07Speaker 1: for listening to another episode of Outspoken. If you do
- 38:09Speaker 1: enjoy the show, we would love it if you can
- 38:11Speaker 1: leave us a review. Now, as we have another public
- 38:13Speaker 1: holiday coming up on Friday for Anzac Day, we are
- 38:15Speaker 1: actually going to be dropping part two of our deep
- 38:17Speaker 1: dive series into Sarah's Day. We've had a really strong
- 38:20Speaker 1: reaction to that episode. We have now made it available
- 38:24Speaker 1: for everyone to listen to. Yeah, we do hope you
- 38:26Speaker 1: enjoy that episode. This podcast was recorded on the traditional
- 38:29Speaker 1: land of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. We
- 38:31Speaker 1: pay respect to elders past and present.
