- speaker-0: Woo welcome back to Fourth and Bonilla podcast. speaker-1: We're here baby. Week seven already. Geez. Going by fast, kid. speaker-0: Yes, that's correct. It is going by quickly over what what is it? we're past one third of the season already. Yep. Yep. speaker-1: That's how they were saying before. Remember, it's like they look at it in in thirds, which is honestly a really good way to look at it from a team perspective, speaker-0: Yeah, fresh slate, just don't even worry about it. Let's fit let's focus on the next game. Exactly. And man, what what a great week it was, dude. It was, it was we were very close. We had we had some good good stuff last week. I hope people tuned in. I hope people tuned in this week. thank you for being with us. We actually have a very special guest. Gonna let him in. Familia member, longtime family member, Michael Tisha. Woohoohoo! We've been moving. There he is. Get him in. Let's go. I was gonna give you the fourth of Benilla background, but I'm happy I didn't because I got this Packer Packer lovely background here. Who do we who we working with here, T Tish? speaker-2: This this is the progression, fellas. speaker-1: I love that. speaker-2: You got you got Bart Star to Favre to Rogers to Love. speaker-0: it's sick. I love that. speaker-1: This guy knows what he's doing, man. He's he's already set. You got your studio set up, bro. You you need to start your own podcast. That's what you really need to do. speaker-2: I'm just I'm so excited I finally get to come on, but I wanted to come on because I won a week and I thought I had that two weeks ago and Steph just rips it from me. So, you know. speaker-0: Hey, that's speaker-1: She's a B. speaker-0: a week. Yeah. speaker-2: She's legit, man. I can give her a lot of credit. speaker-0: we're speaker-1: Do too in the four. speaker-0: gonna run through this. We're gonna give as much value as possible to the listeners here. So first off, we're just gonna quickly me and Mike mention the locks of the week and long shots of the week that we had last week. We both went two and So my lock of the week was Falcons plus three and a half. They took care of business. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: Against my Jets. I had to do it, but money's money. La familia picking, you gotta you gotta pick And then Mike, you had the Browns minus one and a half. That was conviction there, man, 'cause a lot everyone saw the spread and said, that that smells like provolone. Let me go the other way. And yeah, you were like, No, no. I think this is one of those you don't overthink. So Because this And then we had your long shot, which was the Colts plus six and a half. Well. speaker-1: Covered pretty closely, I think, but we'll see. We'll get there. speaker-0: Hey, we're gonna get into all these games a little more in detail, starting with Thursday night football, Bears 30, Patriots 24. Thoughts, fellas. speaker-1: Tish, you wanna kick this one off, man? This was this is a crazy one. You know your bears. speaker-2: Yeah. Listen, I mean the Bears offense is is legit and we we all know that. Obviously Caleb's back and it changes their whole dynamic. you know, I I thought the Patriots they they had some self-inflicted wounds in that game. They had some chances there to really you know, find a way late to to steal that game. You know, I thought the end of the first half was a wild sequence there when the Bears score and then all of sudden the Patriots run a play that looks very just subtle, just a little dump off to Stevenson, and then all of a sudden You're watching the game. You're like, where's the defense? And this dude is gone. but you know, the the Bears, I gotta give them credit as much as I hate to say it. They they're legit. I'm still not sold completely on them defensively. but you're gonna have to score to keep up the pace with them. And and the Patriots obviously just didn't have enough offensively. I do think Drake May is starting to starting to come around. You guys talked about that a few weeks, you know, last week. But yeah, it was a it was a fun game. It was kind of choppy, but all in all, it was a it was a tight one. speaker-1: Yeah, man, I think Ben Johnson's the truth at the end of the day. I obviously only two seasons down, but you it's clear that he has a connection with the team. He's built a camaraderie with the players and he's built like a culture that they can buy into. It's it's very clear. And obviously he shoots him upside even with the backup quarterback two weeks ago, but now it's like clear as day that if he has Caleb on the field, it's a different Bears, right? And then this was all the momentum that was going into the season. that we didn't know what was gonna happen, right? Are they gonna have a software slump or is it gonna just continue? And I don't know, man. It feels like it's continuing. And the Patriots hate to say it, like I think they're just well coached and sure, they had a little bumpy start, but they're a good football team and they always try to figure it out. Drake May, he's starting to figure out as well. I think I think he just needed some time. And you know how it is like for quarterbacks, it's all confidence. And if it breaks just a little in the beginning, especially like Again, he's still early in his career and he just coming off of the Super Bowl slump, right? So there's so many high expectations there. It's hard to meet that all the time. So I don't know. That that's my take on that one. speaker-0: we we heard in the Sims Complete podcast, hosted by Matt Sims and Phil Sims, legendary MVP quarterback. he said that there was a hit like a hitch it when he was throwing the ball. He like there was a lack of confidence there. So that's that's that's funny that you mentioned that, Mike. dude, three and a half spread. This was this was a prime time game and people were like dogs, dogs, dogs, and it and I said on the podcast last week, I said I think we're starting to we gotta we gotta go the other way. We gotta go with the favorite here. And you have Ben Johnson at home. Kalu's playing, so it panned out. Let's go to Paris. Steelers versus Saints. It was a three and a half spread. this one hurts. speaker-1: goddamn Steelers Tit. I can't get this guy out of my frickin' mind anymore. Fucking Rogers, man. I just can't, dude. speaker-2: That that game was I first off, I'm surprised they even played it there. With everything that's happening over there, the NFL what's so funny to me is like the NFL preaches player safety and it's like, All right, yeah, let's just go send where they're rioting all over the place. speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-2: Yeah, it looks cool. It's no big deal. speaker-1: a meme that was showing around it was like Rogers and the Steelers win the game and that's when it's like World War Three happening. I'm like, my God speaker-2: And all the AI stuff, man. I saw Rogers dancing in the street and everything. It was hilarious. speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah. speaker-0: one where they had like it was like Steelers versus Saints and they're in riot gear. speaker-1: That's ridiculous. speaker-0: Shout out to Justin Leo in the pool. He was at the game with with our cousin Sadie and their daughter Lena. Yeah, they were in Paris. Trippy speaker-1: shit. Did he speaker-0: big Steelers fan. speaker-1: wait he made the trip for the game? speaker-0: No, I'm I'm assuming so it must have been that's a crazy coincidence. But we we have to text. speaker-1: We have to text some I yeah, you're right, that is a crazy coincidence, but speaker-0: This game this game here, I I f I liked the Steelers. I felt like the Saints were overshooting it and for whatever re I like sometimes we talk about if you like a team, forget about the the spread and just go with that team. And that was one of those and and I switched it. Go with your gut, man. speaker-2: Yeah, this this game was one of those games late. the the Saints missed the field goal late that would have got them you would have won off the hook off of them. They would get three and a half. So that's one of those like if he makes that, who knows? The Steelers probably just kill clock and the game ends with a with a three point win. speaker-0: That's what we were saying too. Typically the the reason why we changed it or I changed it, I'll speak for myself, is because typically those international games, because no one's watching, it's just considered a prime time game and you know you want that international crowd to get into it. So a close game is a little more enticing. You just feel like the refs call it a little tighter, they they start leaning one way or the other to get that a closer game. So we're like, I can see it covering by the hook. speaker-2: Yeah, I don't know about you guys. I don't know how you feel about the international games. I'm I'm cool with them not playing international games. They always feel like just choppy with things. And some of the international fans don't really like they're trying to build this game. They don't know the game. Like when the Ravens played Dallas in Brazil, I don't know if you guys saw it, but like Dallas scored and they panned to the crowd. There's a dude in a Lamar Jackson jersey jumping around celebrating. I'm like, yo, what is going on? speaker-0: Mm. speaker-2: I don't even understand, but I don't know. The international games for me are just they're whatever. and they're hard and to your part, they're hard to bet. speaker-0: Yeah, they're very hard. speaker-1: That speaker-0: I kinda stay away from it to be honest with you. speaker-1: Yeah, yeah. Not too much more in this game. I think it's worth shouting out the running back for the Steelers, Warren. I look he's he's having a fantastic year. And I think he's doing very well for obviously their record at this point. He rushed for a hundred and one yards, including seventy one after contact. So the guy is a yak machine right now. and yeah, I I don't know. I I think like the Steelers are w so what are they? They're five and two now. Yep. I mean to do you actually think that that's a legit five and two, or do you think this is the worst five and two team we've seen in in a long time? speaker-2: listen, I think they have a veteran quarterback who's playing well. And to your point, Warren is a dog right now. Like he's running the ball well. They got some weapons, you know, that that that young receiver, Jeremy Bernard has been a big player maker for them. I I don't know. I mean, could see how, you know, a lot of people might think that they're not, they're kind of a paper tiger, but until someone proves them wrong, I think this week is going to be huge. Who who knew that Steelers Browns would be such a big game going into, you know, this far in the season? speaker-0: I knew it, Tisha called that bad boy. We were saying, hey, sometimes what you have to do is is look ahead of the schedule. And that's why we felt confident in that Browns pick, because if they win, the Steelers win, we have a five and two matchup next week. Back to Plus the Saints. speaker-1: Exactly. Exactly. Plus the Saints were coming off of a a crazy win, right, in midlife, which was a tough one, kinda going back and forth. So like just the highs and the lows, man, of the season. We've seen this like time and time before. So you gotta capitalize on those wins. I think speaker-2: I was gonna say I I wish you guys would have told me your gut feeling about the Browns going into the year because I took their under and that's out. So good job. speaker-0: Sean Watson wants to come out of nowhere. speaker-1: Honestly though, I yeah, I don't know if I saw the whole season being like this. This is crazy. Deshaun, dude, it's it's funny how people forget, huh? The second you start winning, everyone's like, Deshaun, Deshaun speaker-0: huh. speaker-1: It's all about him now. It's unreal, man. speaker-0: Let's move on, fellas. Falcons twenty nine, forty niners twenty. This was a fishy line here. We called this one out. This was my I think this was my lock. a crow a cross country trip. and then you got some some injuries going. And once McCaffrey went down, I thought that that was like the sign where I was like, Man, should I put some more ac action on this bad boy? and and the forty niners came back and and they took they took care of business. Falcons, excuse me. speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah, this one was this one was really I don't know, it was it really interesting. Obviously the the line was the tell on this one. And I don't like to do that every single week, but this one felt like it was just so obvious to me. I don't know. It it just screamed out it's really hard in the NFL to win that many games in a row. It it just is. They're traveling, right? injuries both I'm really more so on the forty nine side than the the Falcon side, but like Obviously on top of that, C C getting hurt. So I don't know. speaker-0: And the undefeated teams falling one undefeated team always goes well starts lose you know, loses a week. So speaker-1: My thing, my thing here, my biggest take here is the Falcons on paper are a filthy team. they just are. You take every history out of it, all that, they're just a good team. And now that they have the coach who came from the Browns, I think he's solid too. So I don't see a reason why they can't get it good. And like with a new coach like that, it does take time, right? Like people are forgetting that it's just the beginning of the season. We're at week seven. It takes time for that shit to like start, you know, start moving like a well oiled machine. And I feel like that's what we're seeing now. speaker-2: Yeah, I I kinda agree. I think they're the hardest team to bet on, to be honest with you, because there's times where they'll lay an egg and you're like, How do you with Bijan and Pitts and Drake London, like, how are you not able to put these things up? I honestly it's always been the it's been the quarterback, right? Like Penix is a solid quarterback that has a lot of really good potential. He's had some really highs, some downs. And then all of a sudden, like if he gets hurt, now you go to Tua. And I saw how you guys talked about Tua a few weeks ago. Like it there's no team that fears him. So It's it's tough, but to Mike's point, they went into Lambeau Field, what was that, week three, and they absolutely blitzed the Packers. blew them out. so they definitely have it in them. I would I would agree with you. speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, totally, man. here's a cool stat. So Penix joined Andrew Luck and Drew Brees as the only quarterbacks in the past twenty five seasons to throw at least three T D's without a pick in a win over an undefeated opponent that entered six and or better. Interesting. speaker-0: Real deal. Real deal. Let's transition over to Bengals. Bengals thirty five, Ravens thirteen. Division game. A little blowout there. Wow. speaker-1: It's tighter than you thought. Yeah. speaker-2: Did you wa did you watch the first half? speaker-0: No, I I this one I didn't watch. speaker-2: The Raven the Ravens were up thirteen nothing at halftime. And the Bengals blitzed them in the second half. Thirty five zip. Boom. speaker-1: Yeah, it's true. speaker-0: I just don't understand how that happens where the they just go in the locker room and all of a sudden they just shut a team down completely. That's insane. speaker-1: you're they're they're working with their back quarterback, their backup quarterback, right? So let's keep that in mind. I think they're a completely different team when Lamar's on the field. So so that's that. But they were home. So not a not the best look for the Ravens. I think they just need Lamar back and then they'll be cooking. but I think this is a long time coming for the Bengals, man. I I like I just feel like again, on paper, offensively wise, they're really good. there there's no reason why they can't be dominating games. And I just I don't know. Something's lacking there. I want them to be better, but honestly. We have we have an episode coming out. it was with Trey Wayne's Tish and we were talking about that. And he actually mentions like about different organizations that he's with. More pros to Minnesota, but when he went to the Bengals, not too good, man. I mean, if you're talking about like organizations and just the way that they run their stuff, not the best. So that's a little plug for what's about to come. speaker-2: I can't wait to hear that. but you know the I'll tell you real quick, like the Bengals, the Bengals have always in the past been really poor defensively. They've always struggled in that area. They're actually pretty good defensively this year. They're getting after the quarterback, they're getting turnovers. And when if they can do that and shorten, you know, get more possessions for Burrow with Chase and Higgins and Brown, like they they can make some noise. So they're very similar to me, like the Falcons. They they're very hit or miss at times, but they you might we might have to watch out for them. Yeah. speaker-0: It's it's a great point. Joe Burrow two and four in in Baltimore in his career. So for him to go in there and and and then the defense really shut the Ravens down in the second half, that's that's telling, you know, against division of speaker-1: What's spread on this game? speaker-0: Bread, I believe it was two. It was two and a half. Two and a half. Two and a half. Yep. speaker-1: A half. speaker-0: Yep. Lamar Jackson is back this week. well, he's done practice he's been participating in practice, so you can anticipate. speaker-1: It's trending in that direction. speaker-0: Bucks 43, Panthers 13. Whoa, we didn't see that one coming. This is the only game where I was like, you know what? I there's no way I would have got perfect because I didn't see that one coming. Baker coming back. his first game back and then the the backup was playing really well. this is a division game. Panthers at home. That's kind of all I needed to be honest with you. Like I don't know w what happened here. speaker-2: Yeah, I think the the Panthers they ran in number one, the the Bucks ran all over them. They ran for almost three hundred yards on the ground. I think the Panthers turned the ball over three or four times. So, you put all those things together. Baker only threw for a hundred yards, so he didn't really do a whole lot, but he didn't need to when you can run the ball and your defense creates turnovers. So I mean, they went in there and they dominated from start to finish, and that actually scares me because now Carolina goes to Green Bay tomorrow night with that taste in their mouth. So hopefully they continue that. speaker-1: They go to Green Bay though? speaker-0: Yeah, okay. Yep, we'll talk about that in the second that'll be Thursday game. Yep. speaker-1: Totally. speaker-0: anything to add there, Mike, or should we move on? speaker-1: No, man, I think this was a big test for Baker, right? obviously being hurt and coming back with the backup quarterback playing well, right? So it's like, and they just and Tampa just paid him. So it's like shit. If I don't show up now, then is there gonna be bigger question marks? that's I mean, that that was the biggest thing that jumped out to me. But honestly, he's a dog, guys. Like, we're acting like Baker's not a dog. This guy fights every single time he's on the field. So I that one bothered me a little. Like anything divisional, you just I don't know. I'm I'm very like just Take the points, especially if it's anywhere, anywhere close. But I don't I forget this one was at three and a half. That that's a little tight. Shut up. speaker-0: Shout out to the Giant fans as we transition. Giants 27, Texans 21. gosh. Soon as we hear Bobby and Yeah, dude. speaker-1: Ready? speaker-0: I mean, speaker-1: Well let's get. speaker-0: this this was impressive. Everybody's like Texans, Texans, Texans. They're gonna start going on their run. And John Harbor just has this team playing as like a as a team. speaker-2: Yeah, I'll tell you what I really respect about him is Scattaboo had those fumbling issues, right? And he basically benched him against the Saints. And Giant fans were like, How do you just completely bench him? But when you're changing the culture and you're doing things the right way, he proved a point. And then what did Scattaboo do? He came out against Houston and won the game, right? He had the game win like he he was an absolute animal for them. So Carball's a different kind of coach, man. He's he's no nonsense. He's a guy that's he's set in the process. He's very similar to Nick Saban. in that sense and the Giants have bought into that, man. You could tell how much they want to win for him. That and if you watch the end of the game, he's on the ground tackling Malik neighbors. They're having the time of their life. Giant fans should be excited, man. It's I don't I don't know if I believe in JJ McCarthy because I've seen it, but if I believe in someone, it's definitely Harbaugh. speaker-1: Yeah, look, you said it there at the end. I think JJ's really the story here, right? does this continue or does it not continue? it's interesting. I was talking to a friend last night about it and he is a big Giants fan. He's he's so gun ho about JJ. speaker-0: Say game, Mike. He's in the pool. Give him that's on the speaker-1: That's right. speaker-0: record. speaker-1: Steph Nancy, Steph Martinez from one of our rock boys. We were talking to him and he there's no doubt in his mind that he thinks that Jackson Dart played his last game in New York. And I was like speaker-0: As long as J J's there. speaker-1: As long as JJ's there, right? Sorry. So that that's the stipulation. We actually put not a bet on it, but more of I'm telling you this, we're checking in in a year and see what happens. Obviously, we'll see what happened. Because he's out for the year, right? speaker-2: Yeah. Yeah, Dart they said maybe if if they make the playoffs, Dart could come back. If they make the playoffs with JJ McCarthy, they're not going to Dart. speaker-1: There's no way they're going back. No way. speaker-0: Hit his point was they traded draft picks for him. That was one. And two, he played for his brother. So he knows there's just a connection there and speaker-1: The crazy part about it, I think what what really shows in the game is it it's it's a night and day difference in what we saw in Minnesota. it's you know what I mean? he's making the throws, he's making the right decisions. that's that's what's like throwing me off. there isn't even a a glimpse of what we've seen in Minnesota. It's just like where he left off in college. So I I'm I'm very interested to see where this goes. A little slight note here, right before you go to the next one, Pete, is neighbors. I feel like he's starting a really cook now. So he caught seven passes for 111 yards. That's his fourth consecutive hundred yard receiving game. That's the longest Giants streak since Odell. Six game run in 2015. So I think he's finally starting to cook and they're finally starting to see the neighbors that they wanted. speaker-0: Next game. Vikings sixteen, Colts ten. speaker-1: Hey, this is my long shot, folks. Six and a half. You gotta love a good gotta love a cut you gotta love a good hook, huh? Geez. yeah, look, I I I think this was tough. I actually thought it was gonna be a little even closer, to be honest, with the Colts. I think the Vikings are the fakest, what are they now? Six and six and team. yeah, I I I I just don't believe in them. I I really don't. And I think the Colts are going through, obviously, as we're seeing this week, it's the fire sale of all their players, they're going through a lot, right? So I think it's really starting to hit. And we're gonna see it next week. So I don't know who the Colts are playing next week, but you could bet your ass that I am gonna be against the other team. speaker-2: Yeah, they're they're they're going to Jacksonville, to play a divisional game. So and that line I think is only like six and a half, but low, speaker-0: Twenty six and a half. speaker-2: which is sketchy. But yeah, I mean listen, Minnesota is elite defensively. I think Brian Flores does a hell of a job. I'd be very intrigued to see if he gets a head job because he still has that lawsuit out with the N the NFL. So there's a lot of like unevenness to that. but I I kind of agree with Mike. I I I'm not a Kyler Murray guy. I just think that he's he's tries to improvise too much and you know, he's not the biggest quarterback, so he's not really a pocket guy. their running back situation is is tough, but apparently, you know, I've heard some rumors that Jonathan Taylor may be going over there and that could change things. So we'll see. But I mean, until they get knocked off, they got a huge test this weekend. They go to Detroit. So you know, we'll we'll see what Minnesota's really got coming up because their schedule now from this point on is a is a gauntlet. speaker-1: There it is. I could totally see that going downhill. And speaker-0: Fantastically set. speaker-1: that was my long shot, right? Yep. So speaker-0: Bing bing bing bing. Dolphins twenty eight. Jets twenty five. This was my I believe it was either I think my long shot, which I don't know if it should have been a long shot, but my goodness. Mike is still recovering from this. speaker-2: I'm just letting I just want him to take the floor. I'm gonna sit back. I just want him to just cook. speaker-1: man, guys. I I'm gonna literally have a heart attack with this team. Seriously, I think I'm gonna die early because I'm a chess fan. look, there's there's only so many more examples we can see at this point. Aaron Glenn is not the head coach, he's not ready to be a head coach. there's just some coaches in this league that are meant to be coordinators. And you know what, guys? That's okay. Like it's totally okay for that to be the case. So I think that he needs to realize that. I think the Jets need to realize that. I think the tricky part is if you're another organization and and you saw this transpire, you probably entertain the fact of potentially just firing him mid year and just getting all you know, getting off with it and then starting that process early for the next coaching thing. But like who who would you put as a head coach? Like you're gonna put Frank Wright? Like obviously the offense is looking like trash. We can't get our star receiver 10 targets in a game. Like it just doesn't make any sense. And I'm I'm really worried about that aspect. Now the the one thing I will say is people are getting on him for look, I I'm starting to see changes in the in the locker room, I'm starting to change changes here. And it's like people only will resonate with those changes if they see W's in the in the record column. So like I get that. But if you actually break down each of these games, guys, outside of the Bears game, the Jets are like in it. There they really are in these games. They have a lot of talent and there's all young talent. most of these mistakes are fixable. They're all coach, speaker-0: G speaker-1: time management, all things that are fixable. So like different plays, different schemes that they need to do. I just feel like with the right regime, like we actually could be different. And I know we've you've heard Jess fans say that a hundred thousand times, but I genuinely think that this may be different in the sense that. This is probably the best young talent we've had in a really long time. Mix of players that have been there for a little long. And then guess what? We have three draft picks going in this next draft. We have a hundred million in cap space. And the the Colts pick is looking very sexy now that this fire cell is going. So this might be two top ten picks and then an extra one in the first round. Anyway. So I don't know. That that's my take, man. I I can't go on the like this for too long, but yeah. speaker-0: Anything else to add, Tish? speaker-2: I I think he's spot on. I I the one thing I just I, I hear people even with the Packers, people will be like, they need to get rid of LaFleur and blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, yo, do you understand? number one, his record is really good. I know he doesn't have a Super Bowl. What teams and franchises can't do is consistently have turnover three two or three years. And I think that's been a big thing for the Jets. It's like, yeah, we need to hit on the right coach. And you also need to have that quarterback in there too. And I, you know, Mike's Mike knows better than anyone. We talk all the time about that. Like, I agree. You do have a ton of young talent. I love the Cooper kid from Indiana. He's a stud. Stunned. And listen, I was I was I was there week two. I saw it firsthand when a coach doesn't know what he's doing in terms of like the Jets win the overtime coin flip and they take the ball. Like, what are you doing? That's not knowing the rules. Like But I speaker-1: my god. speaker-2: I will I do agree. I think the Jets like when you look at them from a fan perspective, I can see why Jet fans are like, come on, dude. Like we're we're right it's like there. Just gotta get it. speaker-1: We are right there, man. And again, it and it goes on deaf ears because we've said this so many times, but like this actually may be the time, guys. Like this this could be it. So I'm gonna hang on that hope. I don't think it's worth being that fan who's just gonna cry like all the time. that's not the point of sports. The point of sports is to have a little hope, have some fun, and obviously it's gonna feel that much more glorious when it happens. So that's that's my segment. That's it. We're done. speaker-0: Brown Browns we talked about, just gonna say the the score here. Browns twenty seven, Titans twenty four. This was I believe your long shot, your luck of the week, Mike, so speaker-1: Yeah. Look, c closer than you think. I think the Browns are way better than they've been in the past. And I think there's tur turning the page. I think Munkin's got on a good page and they'll get the real test next week. speaker-0: Moving on to Broncos, Cardinals, Broncos 30, Cardinals 16. only thing I'll add here is Broncos had played like teams that have good defenses, you know? So they kinda that spread a little bit wasn't was, I don't know, off off for me at least. I didn't capitalize on that, but I just thought like, hey, they might blow these guys out, and they did. speaker-2: Yeah, I the Broncos they're they're starting to get it together a little bit. I'm very surprised they didn't let Sean Payton just call plays the entire year. I'm not sure why they messed around with that. speaker-1: I'm surprised Sean agreed to that. speaker-2: Yeah, same here. So I I think now that he's got the reins back, it Bonick seems a little bit more comfortable. so I I think they're gonna start moving. You know, they've always had a good defense. they gotta get that offense clicking a little bit more, but it they looked more like last year's Broncos against the Cardinals. speaker-1: Yeah, only cool stat I have here is Knicks became the fourth player in Super Bowl era to record both a rushing T D and a passing T D of at least fifty yards in the same game. Which is actually pretty crazy. But yeah. speaker-0: Lions twenty packers seventeen. Talk to me Tish. speaker-1: Yeah, this is Tish's segment. speaker-2: yeah, I mean, listen, I thought it was gonna be a tough game for them coming in. The Packers, they're pretty banged up, especially defensively. They're two, their two stud linebackers are out. you know, they're banged up up front on the offensive line. I actually thought, like, I was saying going in, I thought it in order to win the game, it'd have to be like 38 35. Like that's the kind of game I thought it was gonna be. It turned out to be a lot more low scoring. Packers just didn't capitalize the way that the way that they should have. They still can't figure out. Why they can't make kicks. That's just driving me crazy. but you know, I I think they gotta they have to figure out an offensive line that's gonna stay steady because they just keep changing. And a lot of it has to do with injuries. So like that's part of it. But, you know, love is taking way too many hits and he's still hanging in there. I I thought the I I hate to be this fan. I thought the refereeing was atrocious. I'm sure you guys saw some of the calls in those games. speaker-1: They were really bad. They were really bad. I usually push that to do on some of those things, but this one was like this one was a little outrageous. speaker-2: Yeah, there were there were some ones that were very got national attention, not just like Packer fans complaining. But exactly the Packer, you you have to be a good enough team, A, to overcome it and B not to get yourself in a spot where the referees can do it. So, you know, I think they're still in a good spot. We gotta see how they bounce back tomorrow night. and I think it looks like they're gonna get Parsons at least back in practice after this week. So that should help the defense out. speaker-1: that. That's a good stat. And then I'd say Josh Josh Jacobs, man, you gotta be pretty happy on the way he's like first game back already looking like that. That's obviously timely drop there if if that my God. speaker-2: And that's another thing they need to clean up. They leave the league in drops, which is no good. They that needs to get fixed, so speaker-0: Hey, my book that speaker-1: It's been a problem for them for a little while now. speaker-0: They covered on the hook, baby. That's all that's speaker-2: Yeah, I had I had too. I had too. So speaker-0: all right, we're almost there, guys. Three. Let's keep it to a very short one sentence so we can get to the week eight picks here. Rams thirty-five, Raiders twenty-one. Anything to add here? speaker-1: not really, man. I think the Rams were due, right? Obviously they were coming off a couple losses and the Raiders I feel bad they they actually like started off hot and now they're kinda in this lull. So they play the Jets in New York and the Jets are gonna be itching for a win. So that's gonna be actually interesting. I think it'll be closer than people think. speaker-0: No. speaker-2: One word for that game for me is just bounce back. That's it. speaker-0: Yep. Bounce back. Yeah, we were saying, hey, does the Rams lose three in a row or do the Raiders lose four? That was the question that we asked ourselves there. Seahawks twenty Chiefs three. Wow. This was we knew this Seahawks had a that that spread was fishy. Fish and Seahawks were at home. But my goodness, what where did where's Patrick Mahomes? speaker-1: Yeah. I don't know. look, I think it it's impossible to expect that they're gonna be they're gonna have a great game every single game, kind of thing. So I think like obviously hindsight's bias, like I could say that easily now. it's better to get these games out now. I guess that that's like the best way I could could describe it. the the Seahawks had like literally everything on this game. you know, they they figured out their scheme, they were able to capitalize it, they had home, like it was just completely one sided, right? I don't think you can judge the Chiefs on this one. I think every team should be allowed at least one or two games like this. So yeah, it's an outlier for me. speaker-0: All right, lastly, Monday night football, Cowboys thirty eight, Eagles twenty one. speaker-2: I got one word for that game. Dud. The Eagles are out. Their injuries have killed them. They got they're they're you can't win football games with that with that roster, with the way it is. It's just they can't. So speaker-1: It's impossible. Yeah, it's impossible. Despite it being a divisional game, I I knew that this was gonna happen. I knew the Cowboys were they had their backs against the wall. They needed to win this. I don't care if it was in Philly. Point it was gonna happen. speaker-0: Coin. I I blame coin Chris Coin million dollar coin. He convinced me otherwise. I was like, I like in what world do the Eagles win this game? Like they're in there's so much turmoil and I switched it because of the division. You don't know what this this new quarterback he's kinda hard to scheme for those people. And then we got got cooked. it was close in the beginning, actually. I think the Eagles had to leave for a little bit, but gave me hope. I'm gonna skip I was this close and let's just go to week eight. Is that cool with everybody? speaker-1: I love it. I love it. Let's do it. speaker-0: Go down the slate here. first matchup Thursday night. We talked about this briefly. It's your it's your Packers, Tish. What are we thinking? It's Panthers in in Green Bay in Lambeau. Three speaker-2: Yeah, speaker-0: three and a half spread. speaker-2: I think I think this is two teams that are gonna want to get a sour taste out of their mouth. And the last time the Packers played a Thursday night game at home against an NFC South team, they got absolutely smacked by the Falcons. So, and last year they got beat up at home by Carolina as well. So they need to bounce back. I think that they're they're due to have a good home performance here on a on a short week, but this is gonna be a dog fight, man. I I this this to me, I'm not really sure how this game's gonna go. I do think the because the Panthers defensively are really banged up, they got a ton of guys on IR. I think the Packers can capitalize there, but this is they're gonna have to play their best game 'cause Carolina's gonna be hungry. speaker-1: What do you got, Pete? speaker-0: I just have a rule. I I go I do go with the dog on prime time. So I mean outside of last week. speaker-2: About to say, where was that dog? speaker-0: La la but I just felt it in my gut. I felt it in my gut and in in this one I just like I gotta go with the Panthers after a loss. Although like, you know, the rule is you take the Panthers at home and the the Panthers away, you take you know, take the opposite team. But I don't know. I just have to go with it. Maybe they cover on the hook and I hope your Packers won. speaker-1: it's funny because we talked about this together having that role P and I I'm like so mixed on this one. I think Tish hit it right on the head. both teams are looking to bounce back on this one, right? And they're both gonna be fighting. I think that there's two pieces, right? It's Carolina gets the points, so why not take the points on that? Or it's gonna be an even game, they're gonna be fighting, so why not take the home team? And it's really hard to play in Lambeau, right? I just feel like it can go either way. For that, to me, I think you gotta go I think you gotta take. points. I think that they're gonna be fighting, really fighting. And if I could still win with a loss, then you gotta take that. So I'm gonna go Carolina. speaker-0: Well look speaker-2: I hope you're both wrong. So speaker-0: 74% of the pool likes the Packers. Ravens. Ravens speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: versus the Bills. So the four and three Ravens versus the five and one Bills. This is always a back and forth game. Close. Four and a half spread. Bills are favored in Buffalo. Thoughts? That's a lot. speaker-2: here's the thing. it's all based off Lamar, right? if if if Lamar's questionable speaker-1: Let's go on the let's go on the assumption that Lamar plays. If Lamar plays, what's your pick? speaker-2: then I think you gotta take the Ravens plus four and half. That that has thirty-three, thirty-one written all over it. speaker-1: Yep, both defenses haven't been that crazy. I I mean, look, I love immediate like guts and how that feels because I've how many times have we gone back our picks and we're like, damn, like we had our gut, we changed it, blah blah blah. Four and a half is too high. It's just too high for this, for this matchup. Like, I'm going Baltimore on this one. At least for now. If it changes, don't hold me to it. speaker-0: Tight Titans versus Bengals here. ten and a half spread, man. This is the this is one of those where you like, do I just go with the points here? But now, Tisha, you got me think thinking, man. That if the defense is that good against a bad team that just lost a tough one, you know. speaker-2: I would say this. I I was I was looking at the Titans schedule going into this season. They've only really had two losses where they weren't competitive. And one of them actually was against the Jets. the other ones like they they lost by three points to I think it was like Buffalo or someone else, or maybe that was Vegas I was thinking of, but they played close games. They haven't gotten blown out by many teams. so ten and a half is I mean, that's a lot of points, but I I mean, in Cincinnati, you gotta imagine the you know The Bengals want to play a full game instead of a half a game like they did last week. So if they don't play with their food in the first half, they could easily w win this game running away. But as I said, you know, numbers are numbers. The Titans have played people well. speaker-1: Yeah, man, this is speaker-0: Make the point. speaker-1: there. This is really tough. I think time and time again, every single time every week comes up and we see a high spread, we try to justify it and we're like, it's too high. and honestly, up until this point, I think it's covered. Probably all the high spreads. I think we're at a point in the season where we were just talking about before. It's like we look at it in thirds, the first third is done. Like, I think teams are really starting to be like, Okay, we need to figure this out, we need to do this. And Cincinnati Circled this game and said, Let's let's make a point here. We're home. Let's build a momentum, especially if we're coming off of a win in Baltimore. So speaker-0: Despite it being so speaker-1: Hi, I want to go with Bengals. speaker-0: The way the other way you could look at that is just being a letdown game, right? They just blew out their division. Yep. One of their division rivals. And now you gotta come home and play like a a a team that you how do you get up for the Titans? speaker-2: Yeah, just to just to clarify there, they lost to the Eagles by four, the Giants by five, the Ravens by six, the Browns by three. So like they've been competitive against teams that are you'd imagine to Pete's point, like how do you get up for them? Well, you better figure it out because if you don't, they're gonna be right there. speaker-1: It's true. It's true. That's a very good point. And that's what the coach should be saying, dude. He should be like, Look, these guys are you know, they're still gonna fight. man. That's a tough that's tough. That that one might flip. That one might flip. We'll see. speaker-0: All right, Cardinals, plus six and a half against the Cowboys. speaker-1: man. So so this one I think I think if you look at the rest of Dallas's season, in terms of strength of schedule across the league, it ends up being one of the easier ones going forward. So I think that they know that they need to start capitalizing on these. yes, I think Arizona's a little better, but I don't think they're a good team in general. I really don't. I and Dallas is home. I think I go Dallas here. I think they get back on their horse. speaker-2: This to me has the the makings of Dallas comes off a really nice win, they look good and they lay a complete egg at home in front of Jerry again. Like we've seen this too many times. I can see I I can see them winning this game by, you know, three or four points. but the Cardinals have played teams tough. They've won games on the road in LA twice, you know, beat the Rams and the Chargers. So I I think six and a half is a little too much for my for my liking. So I probably will take the six and a half with with Arizona. speaker-0: There peop the public is betting on Dallas right now because the spread's moving to seven already. speaker-1: If it's heavy, heavy on Dallas, then let me know because then then I'll join Tish and we'll go right back on. speaker-0: Mikey, we're gonna call him flip floppy Mikey. speaker-2: I love it. I love it. speaker-0: Flippy floppy. All right. We have the undefeated Vikings six six and They're a dog this week. Plus three and a half in Detroit. You mentioned this earlier, Tisha. What are your thoughts? speaker-2: Yeah, I'll be honest with you. I so I made my picks today. I honestly don't know which way I think I I took Detroit because again, you look at it as how can an undefeated team be a three and a half point road dog? you know, even though it's a it's a divisional game, like you know, they're still undefeated. And all that's telling you is that someone thinks that they're gonna lose by at least a touchdown. So I'm gonna go with that trend and I'm gonna take I'm gonna take Detroit. speaker-1: with you. I don't think I I'm like for those exact reasons. I think someone knows something. There's no reason. Any other six and team, there's no way that that spread is like that. Detroit's a good team. Like let's let's not forget that. Their defense is but their offense is is legit, legit. So yeah, I'm going Detroit. Three and a half for sure. I think that line moves up by the way by the end of the week. speaker-0: I feel like the world's gonna be on Detroit. I feel like everybody's seeing this and saying The same thing. We have to do it. Yeah, I I ca I I just I I'm not settled on this this matchup. I just I don't speaker-1: We're gonna get a message from Bleacher Report saying, Warning, this is one of the games that has ninety percent of the speaker-0: Yeah, exactly. speaker-1: it's gonna happen. speaker-0: I had to understand Kyler Murray's record in Detroit overall. Let me see, really quickly. Let me let me ro let me rock speaker-2: I'm curious how I'm curious how many times he's either even ever played there. He's probably only played there a couple of times. speaker-1: Right, right. 'Cause what he was in Car speaker-2: Arizona. Arizona. speaker-0: He's only played there once and he lost. speaker-1: Did you get killed? speaker-0: Mm. speaker-2: you also gotta realize there are some Cardinal teams they played with that were really good. they had some square speaker-0: Back in the day, yeah, they had a they lost speaker-1: That's true. That's true. speaker-0: twelve thirty. But this was yeah, honestly that's what you can't carry. This was in twenty twenty one. This is too long ago. speaker-2: Cheese. speaker-0: Too long. I wouldn't I wouldn't put any weight into that. all right. Seems like we're fifty fifty there. Here we go. Colts plus seven and a half against the Jaguars. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. speaker-0: Do let's go cold spire sale. But man, is that is that high enough? speaker-2: Yo, Mike, if I Mike, I'm telling you right now, if I see you on your pick and you took the Colts, I might never talk to you again. After what you said earlier, you were like, I don't care who they play, where they play, what the spread is, I'm the hammer at the other team. So don't overthink this one. Jags. speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah. No, I'm I'm with ya. I'm with ya. I think I'm with ya. No, no, no. It's Jacksonville. It's Jacksonville all the way here, guys. I mean, this is exactly one of those. Don't overthink it. this isn't like one of Pete, like the one of the ones where we say, like, they fire the coach and the next week somehow the whole team just galvanizes and they win that game. And we've seen that time and time after again. This is not that. I I could promise you it's not that. Like you just at a certain point Did they fire the speaker-0: Which speaker-1: no, no, but they got rid of speaker-0: The government. speaker-1: Literally three Pro Bowl players. speaker-2: And they fired their GM. speaker-1: And they fired their GM. It's it's it's going down. Like speaker-0: This is a division game and they o they traditionally play each other very hard. it's always a close game. So speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: that one that that part, but it's so obvious, right? Everybody's seeing everything on the writing on the wall. I think this is the blowout of the week. Raiders versus Jets. Man. I feel like this is unfortunate for the Jets. The Raiders lost four in a row. They're not losing five in a row. Sorry. Really? That's all I gotta say there. speaker-1: Tish, go go, what are you gonna say? speaker-2: I'm gonna be honest with you, if you were gonna ask me for a lock, and I would highly advise anyone watching this, every time I say here's my lock, I would go against it because I don't know what I'm talking about when I lock Pixon. but I I look at Vegas getting a half a point. This is like Kirk Cousins' last shot to keep his starting job. And he's going into a place where it it's so volatile right now that like the jet I I don't know how the Jets even play right now in MetLife because it's gonna feel like every mistake they make. That fan base is gonna turn and rightfully so. I don't blame them. That's tough, man. That's tough to have a home crowd that feels like it's just, you know, a science project that's building and you're just waiting for that thing to explode. I I think the Raiders defensively have been good. They're another team that's played. They played Buffalo tough. They played Kansas City tough. they've run they've won two of their games on the road. Like, I I I don't know, man. I I don't see it with Geno and I just think the Raiders I I don't think they're gonna blow out, but if you told me they won twenty three twenty, I wouldn't be shocked. speaker-1: P go first. speaker-0: I already went. I I already s I I already said they're not gonna lose four straight. no straight. They're speaker-1: so you're you're going speaker-0: not gonna lose five straight, I said. Five street. speaker-1: God. Yeah, that does scare me. Look, if I wasn't a Jet fan, I think I'd be all up on on this guy's. I I look loot losing to Miami, it that's gotta be wake up call. If that's not a wake up call, then I don't know what is. speaker-2: Tell you what it Losing to a team that has lots of boards. speaker-1: And but this is just it, you guys. This is literally the amnesia that happens with Jets fans. It's like it can't get lower than this, right? It can't get worse than this. And then it's like literally, we we won't score a point next week. And I'm like, wow, it just got worse. speaker-0: Mike, if you think about it, if we just think about it from a logic standpoint, yeah so it was four they've lost four in a row. I'm sorry. So they lost four in a row, the opposite team. So d that there's pressure there just to not like to to not lose to a f team that's just on a four and a then they they lost to the team that was defeated. They hadn't won a game, right? And the coaching staff hasn't changed. So what why do we expect any change, anything to be different? speaker-1: So but why so why is the spread at a half a point, guys? speaker-0: Because speaker-2: I think because Vegas thinks they both stink and they're like, we don't know either. speaker-0: and and because Vegas is like they're not proving that they can win. So so that that that's what it is. It's but but they've shown it early on in the season that they have that those pieces. Kirk has Kirk still has something in the tank. The only thing it's small sample size, but against the Jets, he's one and two on the road. speaker-1: Let's go. No, look, look, if I'm if I'm putting all biases aside, I think there I think there's no reason why you would pick the Jets here. I think you have to pick the Raiders. like like Tish said, right, they're competing with good teams. They're like we've we've played like iffy teams, and then the teams that we have played that were really good, like the Bears, we got smacked. Right. So like I I just don't see it either, honestly. So I'm gonna go Raiders. speaker-2: For now. speaker-1: For now. speaker-0: All right. Browns versus Steelers. Browns plus three and a half. We talked about the five and two matchup here. The Browns are not the Browns that they used to be. They are playing in Pittsburgh. I'll go really quickly first. I I would I would go with the Steelers, but the edge here, you got the hook. Number one, Browns are playing well. And then lastly, they're coming from Paris. So that to me in itself, like I it's just enough variables for me that this game could be close or the Browns could win. speaker-2: Yeah, I I think I think you both have hit this on the nail a couple of times during this podcast is that the divisional games are tight, really tight. If this was two and a half, I probably would lean more Pittsburgh. Me too. Three and a half, I think you gotta go Cleveland because again, I don't think that would shock anyone if this was a three point game that the Steelers win, but you take it by the hook. I think the the Browns defense is good. I think Deshaun's gonna do enough. but I do think they're gonna try to pressure Aaron as much as possible and make him try to move. this this to me looks like a what, a seventeen fourteen type of thing. speaker-1: Yeah. Yep. Exactly. man, this is tough though. The the only thing that makes me weary about this game is like this is the absolute this is what happened with Roger, like for Rogers. Like it's all the luck that in this last season, I just feel like it's all coming to this piece. Where, like, of course, they're five and two and they're and they're going against the Cleveland Browns, who are hot, but like they could just turn right back into the Browns in a week, right? People like if they shit the bet here, they're gonna be like, here we go. Like It's gonna happen, kind of thing. And I could just I could see that happening. it's tough to play against Pit Pittsburgh, right? that environment is really tough. But it's like you guys said, it's three and a half. this game is gonna be close. Like, you know what I mean? Like Cleveland is just not a bad team. Like, even if they had a somewhat bad day, like they can clean it up and really fight because they know it's that it's a divisional game, and that alone will will keep the game close. So I gotta take the points here, man. You you just you have to take the points. So I'm gonna go Cleveland. speaker-0: Falcons vs Bucks. One and a half spread. Falcons are dogs. speaker-2: Is it one and a half? I thought what I think it was two and a half. speaker-1: It probably speaker-0: We have two and half now, but in our pool we get the opening line and speaker-1: That spread stinks like a motherfucker. speaker-2: So I'm gonna get hit you with a quick stat and just leave it at this as to why I'm taking Atlanta. Baker Mayfield in his last three games at home versus the Falcons is and three. So I am gonna take the team that's now it scares me a little bit that they just had a huge win against San Fran. That that that scares me. But I'm gonna rock with the numbers there and I'm gonna take the Falcons with the points. speaker-1: He, who do you have? speaker-0: I'm gonna go with the Bucks here. This is my long shot of the week. I I I the I scares me that they got a huge win. And then like what I it's one of those things where you f you go against them, you go you go against them the previous week, they don't win, then you go with them and then they win. I I I s I get it. And the Falcons are playing really well. But this is a big game. I mean, this is a division game, and and if they can get it here, now it's now you got a three and five and three and five team. And usually those those those things when they're ON three, I feel like that they just there's it's just a matter of time before they they get one, So I'm on the bucks but I'm not this is my long shot. speaker-1: Yeah, you're not confident about. Look, at the end of the day, if you're looking at all the spreads this week and you're like, all right, which ones are weird? Like just really weird, to me this is the one that's really weird. There's no reason why Tampa Bay should be favorite this week. speaker-0: You could argue it's because they're overreacting to the win against the bet or on paper, one of the best teams in the NFL. And at home. speaker-1: Yeah. Because it's weird, I'm gonna go Tampa Bay. I'm gonna go Tampa Bay just because it's weird. It doesn't make sense to me. it's a buckle up not confident in it, but yeah, it's a buckle up game. Yeah. Put the strap on. For sure. This is this is King Naka R. I. P. No more King Naka in Jersey anymore. They tore down the the roller coaster. I'm getting I'm glad I got a couple of those in right before. I literally have to do B like there. speaker-0: Building something insane to replace it, by the way. Just sidebar. speaker-1: And then that's on the equation. speaker-0: It's like ridiculously high. It's turning upside down. Your things moving while you're going. Like it's it's got to throw up all over it. all right. Chargers versus Rams. Chargers plus six and a half. These boys have not won yet. They have not won yet. And the Rams, man, they just like certain games where they're where they're like, you know, you you're supposed to win. They put themselves in a weird position and and shat the bed. So this is a this is an interesting one. What are your thoughts? speaker-2: I I'm interested to see what fan bases show up because when those two teams play other good teams that come to their house, they overtake that stadium. So now you got LA and LA. So there's got to be LA fans there. I I mean, listen, I I think the I think the Rams are at least a touchdown better than them. The Chargers have to prove it to me before I take them. I would like that to be a little bit lower, but I mean I I'll take it. I'll take the Rams minus the six and a half and hope that they win by at least a touchdown. speaker-1: this might be my long shot of the week. I think we talked about it every week, Pete, in that teams that have been winless, it's slowly starting to happen. And then not gonna say that they're win, but like plus six points, backs against the wall. There's a lot of injuries on the Rams side. the Rams have to get up for a Chargers game. Like maybe there's a little, like, I don't know, pride on the line because it's both LA, but like not not that not even. I don't know. I I I'm gonna go charges this one. I think at at a certain point you gotta throw a bone and they gotta be able to figure it out. And they could lose by six points. I don't know. That that seems like too much for me. So I'm gonna go I'm gonna go speaker-0: I'm gonna go with the Chargers here only because I believe they c they're coming off a bi week, correct? Yes. Yeah. So you give speaker-1: Or reset. speaker-0: an extra week to prep here. that is the only reason. That's the only edge I'm giving them. And I like on all the points you just made, Mike. I I I I have to go there. Nothing has to do with football at all. It's just pure betting. All right, next next next matchup, Chiefs. First the Broncos Chiefs are minus one and a half. speaker-1: Look at this fucking line, dude. I I'll I'll go first. I think the Chiefs, I think this is a weird line again, to just throw that out there again. It's a very weird line. but I think Patrick Mahomes is the the ultimate professional when it comes to this. I don't know if you anyone who's watching has seen the documentary quarterback on Netflix, but it's just sick to see how he like how much of a competitor he is. Everyone dogs him for like the stupid shit he does, like Off off field, and how he's weird, his voice is weird, all these little things. but at the end of the day, the guy is I mean, he's proven. And I think that the Denver Broncos have showed a lot of weaknesses throughout this year already. So I'm gonna go Chiefs, minus one and a half. speaker-2: Yeah, I'm I'm gonna go Denver just based off their defense. I think they're gonna be able to do enough. I think Seattle gave a little bit of an idea to people of how to play against them. and you know, listen, it's another we we were seeing all these divisional games this week. And you know, I think it's a challenge to play at mile high. I think they have a really good home field advantage. I think Bo Nicks will make enough plays and I think their defense can get enough stops. you know, I I could the Broncos winning this game a twenty four, twenty three type of thing. speaker-0: They always play each other tough. I think just because the Chiefs lost last week in embarrassing fashion, and Sean Payton is two and six against Patrick Mahomes all time. I I I'll I'll go with I'll go with the Chiefs and hold my breath. speaker-2: I'll tell you what fellas, either you guys are gonna do really well or I'm gonna do really well. speaker-1: Yeah, the opposite way. I speaker-0: No speaker-1: feel like we're all kinda all over the place in this one. This might be just a tough week in general, but speaker-0: All right. We have Patriots versus Dolphins, minus seven and a half Patriots. It's just speaker-1: Divisional game, man. And New England does not play well in Miami. That is a fact. I don't even need to look up the stats. I just know that. I'm going Miami plus seven and a half. They've fought in every game, honestly. maybe they have like a little momentum thinking that they beat the Jets at home. Another, you know, divisional win, I guess, but their first win really. But yeah, I'm going Miami. speaker-2: Yeah, I'm I'm riding I'm riding with you there. I think that we all know that they struggle in Miami. I don't really know what the weather's gonna be like, but I think this is a tough, tough little test for New England and New England has Green Bay next week on the schedule. So I could be kind of like a look ahead type of spot for them. So I like the Dolphins, especially with the hook there. So give me the plus seven and a half with the fins. speaker-1: Finnies. speaker-0: I'm gonna go opposite of you guys. I'm going Patriots. I just think that they lost last week. speaker-1: yes, speaker-2: Yeah, to Chicago. speaker-1: yeah, yes. speaker-0: I think losing last week gives them a little bit of a th this team's a good team, and they're well coached. I I feel like they're gonna come in prepared. It's gonna be one of those division ones where we're like, shit, this team did get wipe wiped. the Dolphins at some point they were like they only had scored ten points. Like that was the high that they had scored in in in in their games. speaker-1: They didn't have a lead this entire season until speaker-2: I'm just looking at Mike because you're reading this stat and he's just like until they played the Jets. My b speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: That the no, no, don't don't even feel bad, dude. at this point, I can't I literally have no legs to step to step on at this point. It's just that's it, dude. We're we're here. We're at this point. I have to take everything that people give me. So the one set I obviously didn't say that everyone has been seeing, I just have to say it on on the episode is a hundred and seven to six in the final two minutes of the first half. That's what Aaron Glenn's record is, his scoring record is. Dude, I actually think that like that's impos it could almost be impossible. Like that that's even a like a thing. Like I don't and and like someone's that's like over the course of like many seasons and stuff. Like, no, he's only speaker-0: Excuse me. speaker-1: for two years, guys. A hundred and seven to six. speaker-0: That's prevent, no? It's like you're playing prevent defense and just letting these guys are just scoring. speaker-1: It's P it's it's just everything wrong. It's like if you just if you literally put a plan together to okay, how bad can we fuck up the this the final two minutes? Like that's exactly what he's doing. And it's like okay, there's no way he can make this mistake. He's like, Yeah, no, he made that mistake. Like we had three timeouts left. Do speaker-0: Last week and we didn' speaker-1: it in the first half. Like, we if we would have timed it perfectly, we would have had whole nother possession. P it's so bad, dude. I like he needs a coach just for the time management. Like He's just someone is here to be like, All yeah, this go call time out now. speaker-0: How had how did he not get fired this week after that? speaker-1: Because they can't put because they can't put anyone else there. it it just wouldn't do anything. It really wouldn't. It wouldn't do no good for the organization. speaker-0: Because say what is it. speaker-1: Because of the trend you you fire a coach and they win. Yeah. Yep. Fucking unbelievable. What speaker-0: Next speaker-1: else do we got? speaker-0: next matchup, Sunday night, football, Eagles, Virginia Commanders. speaker-2: How did they not flex that game out? What are we doing, so? speaker-0: Yeah, we're speaker-2: What's the line on? speaker-0: I gave one. Plus three and a half Eagles. speaker-2: Give me the commanders minus three and a half. The Eagles, they they have nobody. speaker-0: Nobody. I I'm fading the Eagles all all year. Sorry Eagle fans and next speaker-2: Okay. speaker-1: Nah, don't be sorry. Philly fans are frickin' jerks anyway. Honestly, I'm going commanders, guys. this is this is an easy one for me. I think people are underestimating the effect that the the Jalen Hurts thing is I I think this is like malpractice, dude. Like this is really bad. so I I'm very interested to see where that goes, but yeah, I think this is despite it being speaker-0: They said it's gonna be Jalen Hurts Stadium after after he he's done with that lawsuit. speaker-1: Probably. speaker-0: All right. It's that time. It's Monday night. Monday night. Bears. Plus three and a half versus the Seahawks. speaker-1: Jeez, that's a game right there. man, this is tough. I'm gonna go I'm gonna go with the points, man. I think it's gonna be a close game. Chicago's defense worries me though, and Seattle's defense against them could slow them down just like a little bit at least. speaker-0: They're speaker-1: and they're in Seattle. Oof. I gotta take the points. It's a prime time game. They're both good teams. Ben Johnson's gonna have this. They're gonna they're gonna at least be prepared. That's for sure. and I Kyle Manungai may be coming back. Not that he's like the star running back, but I like he's the perfect bounce off for Swift. So yeah, I I'm gonna go plus three and a half. speaker-2: Yeah, I hate it in my soul every week that I take Detroit, Minnesota, or Chicago at any point, but I gotta agree with Mike. I think three and a half is too much. I think the Bears offense can do enough and I think that's I think that's a that's a lot plus the hook. So give me the three and a half too. speaker-0: You guys said it all. Let's go. speaker-1: Yeah, yeah. speaker-2: I gotta point out one thing too and we gotta this is where the flex thing needs to come in for the NFL. you have the Browns and Steelers, the Bills and the Ravens, there's the Vikings and the Lions, and all of those games are at one o'clock. How is that possible? speaker-0: Yeah. Turn speaker-1: Crazy. speaker-0: off the T V after one o'clock? Like what do we speaker-1: They're really messing up. They're really messing that up. speaker-2: One of those three games should be the Sunday night game. Get the Eagles and Commanders out of there. speaker-1: Do they have a certain time frame from when they can do that? when when is the cutoff? speaker-2: Yeah, it it's all T V rights stuff. they have to be able to figure out I think it was honestly I think it's up till about week twelve and then they can start to I I don't know. The schedule makers can't predict injuries, but speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, that's the thing, right? who who would have known, but yeah, I don't know. That's that's a bad one. speaker-0: gent gentlemen, for the record, what do we think in terms of your lock and your long shot? I just want make sure I have that written down. speaker-2: I'm taking Vegas with my lock. Sorry, I'm like, I'm taking Vegas with my lock. speaker-1: Lock. Lock? Yeah. you're that confident. speaker-0: I just speaker-2: Feel like this is I feel like MetLife is gonna just it's gonna be like that scene in Dark Knight like speaker-0: Yo, that's a group. speaker-1: And it's and it's Gotham. speaker-2: Yeah, I'm gonna take them with my lock. My long shot, just to cover, I I guess I'll go Tennessee because of how they've trended. So the ten and a half will be the long shot. speaker-1: You go, Pete. What do think? speaker-0: I have Chiefs minus one and a half as my lock of the week. I just think a Patty Mahomes, I'm I'm not going against you, buddy. I that that's a tough lock of the week too. Pl when getting a win in Miles City. So I'm buckling up, but I I I I feel like they're gonna come to play. I feel like Walker's gonna have a a game. and we'll and we'll see what happens. I think that Peyton, the Sean Payton record is gonna is gonna go down even more. And then my long shot got the Bucks. Minus one and a half. Smelling like provolone. Gonna gonna not gonna leave it alone. I'm just gonna eat the cheese, brother. Eat it. Go for it. Let's go. speaker-1: Sometimes the stinkier the better, folks. So you never know. I am gonna go for let's see, what do we got here? We got my lock of the week is gonna be Baltimore plus four and a half. Like that. I think I think that's just a game that's gonna be popcorn ready, man. I don't know, I don't know how I got a four and a half. Four and a half seems crazy, but maybe Vegas knows something that I don't, and that's typically the case. and then long shot. I think I called it before. Long shot is gonna be Chargers plus six and a half against the Rams. I think the whole world thinks that the Rams are obviously gonna kill and with the Chargers, you know, backs against the wall at this point, like something's gotta give their home. speaker-0: I have some pride. speaker-1: Yeah, and there's always like some, you know, shocker in every week, right? Maybe maybe this is the one. And they're the last winless team, correct? speaker-0: winless team. speaker-1: Yes? Okay. All right. speaker-0: That's correct. speaker-1: There you go. speaker-0: all right. this concludes our our programming, baby.
