- 1:32Speaker 5: We are breaking the Father's Day routine today in celebration
- 1:37Speaker 5: with our loved ones here because the Kraken, like Al
- 1:40Speaker 5: and me on the grill, still cooking for this offseason,
- 1:45Speaker 5: and needless to say, as far as they're concerned, it
- 1:48Speaker 5: is Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. First off, the
- 1:52Speaker 5: Kraken acquiring Mackie Samuskevitch. We're gonna talk about this move
- 1:57Speaker 5: and exchange two draft picks out the door round draft
- 2:00Speaker 5: pick this year, twenty fifth overall and a second round
- 2:04Speaker 5: conditional pick this next year. The Krack and warn't stopping there.
- 2:08Speaker 5: Hours later, Welcome back Bobby McMahon extended six year deal
- 2:14Speaker 5: or five point seventy five million dollars annually.
- 2:18Speaker 1: This was a.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Pretty active day here in crack Inland. We're talking about
- 2:22Speaker 5: this right now. I'm joined now by Al Kaniski, who
- 2:25Speaker 5: I think is just digesting dinner just like me.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Al, How is the food today?
- 2:31Speaker 2: Oh, food was fantastic. It's the best part of Father's Day.
- 2:33Speaker 2: You get to pick everything, all right, Well what was
- 2:37Speaker 2: on the menu? Started the day with a fantastic breakfast
- 2:41Speaker 2: out of the local eatery had had some Mexican actually
- 2:46Speaker 2: for breakfast. It's delicious. Oof continued on with some some
- 2:51Speaker 2: coffee delicious mocha, and then finished the day at home
- 2:55Speaker 2: with the family with a great meal of chili peanut
- 2:59Speaker 2: butter pasta, finished with some fresh strawberries and some bourbon
- 3:03Speaker 2: infused whipping cream.
- 3:05Speaker 5: Oh, how do you do bourbon infus whipping cream? I've
- 3:07Speaker 5: always been curious about this. It is a great dessert
- 3:09Speaker 5: additive I've read well.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I mean when you make whipping cream, if you do
- 3:13Speaker 2: it inside the canister with the co two cartridge, you
- 3:15Speaker 2: could put this about anything that's liquid in there. And
- 3:19Speaker 2: you know, little goes a long way, but a little
- 3:21Speaker 2: bit more is even better.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Uh.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Glad the family enjoyed that. In the middle of me
- 3:24Speaker 5: making breakfast, this is when the McMahon trade broke. I
- 3:27Speaker 5: was outdoors backyard on the Blackstone cooking up pancakes. By
- 3:32Speaker 5: the way, folks go ahead and google banana bread chocolate pancakes.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, unbelievable.
- 3:39Speaker 5: And then tonight, of course the usual steak Rabbi my favorite,
- 3:43Speaker 5: my dad's mac and cheese that was passed down to
- 3:46Speaker 5: me as well. We had that on the menu. Also
- 3:47Speaker 5: saw ted mushrooms. The kids enjoyed the steak. The kids
- 3:50Speaker 5: enjoyed the mac and cheese. We made some corn as well.
- 3:52Speaker 5: They were happy campers. So we can call this a
- 3:54Speaker 5: pretty good day. But see a pretty decent day here
- 3:57Speaker 5: in Crack and Roster. LAMB will first off begin and
- 4:00Speaker 5: with the biggest news of the day that folks were
- 4:03Speaker 5: waiting on pins and needles four for weeks. Bobby McMahon
- 4:07Speaker 5: is back, six year deal again. As we said, five
- 4:10Speaker 5: point seventy five million dollars annually. Last year he hit
- 4:15Speaker 5: thirty goals. This contract will carry him until age thirty six.
- 4:21Speaker 5: He's a self made player, never drafted. He finally got
- 4:24Speaker 5: his pay day. And when you talk about five point
- 4:27Speaker 5: seventy five million dollars, that's a pretty good take on
- 4:31Speaker 5: the crack inside.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I went and looked this up.
- 4:34Speaker 5: It's one hundred and ninety first right now in the
- 4:36Speaker 5: NHL as far as ranked contracts, So you're getting a
- 4:39Speaker 5: pretty good value as far as I'm concerned. Al the
- 4:42Speaker 5: meaning of Bobby McMahon once again back in the crack
- 4:46Speaker 5: in Jersey for six more years.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Take it away, Well, we had a taste of Bobby
- 4:51Speaker 2: mcmah at the end of the season, and after ten games,
- 4:53Speaker 2: I think we were all looking at each other going
- 4:54Speaker 2: we got to find a way to keep this guy
- 4:56Speaker 2: on the team. He was right fit in the locker room,
- 4:58Speaker 2: he was a great fit on the ice. He they
- 5:00Speaker 2: broke some records in his first ten games, putting up points.
- 5:03Speaker 2: His speed. I mean, it's such a big impact just
- 5:07Speaker 2: that attribute alone, not to mention his finish around the net,
- 5:12Speaker 2: in his physical play. So definitely the kind of guy
- 5:14Speaker 2: you want to see stick around, and I'm glad to
- 5:16Speaker 2: see that Jason Bottle and the team were able to
- 5:19Speaker 2: come to an agreement with them on meeting both sides
- 5:23Speaker 2: and getting a guy that I think will be a
- 5:26Speaker 2: perpetual top six player for the next five seasons.
- 5:30Speaker 5: I think it was pretty clear that ten goals in
- 5:33Speaker 5: eighteen games was enough to tell you and others about
- 5:36Speaker 5: a fit for him in a Crack in Jersey and
- 5:38Speaker 5: pretty apparent that this team wanted him, they needed him.
- 5:41Speaker 5: Once the season was over, they took him on a
- 5:44Speaker 5: golf recruiting trip, and of course social media I thought
- 5:47Speaker 5: told a big part of the story with how much
- 5:50Speaker 5: he was enjoying Seattle. Go back and find his Instagram
- 5:52Speaker 5: accounties got stuff all over the place ever since this
- 5:55Speaker 5: last season ended. But I think when you find a
- 5:59Speaker 5: guy who wants to be here, a guy who also
- 6:02Speaker 5: has played under Lane Lambert, he knows him, he understands him.
- 6:07Speaker 5: The transition was seamless, it was flawless, it was smooth.
- 6:11Speaker 5: But I go right back here to the point when
- 6:13Speaker 5: you find guys who want to be here, This is
- 6:16Speaker 5: how you reverse course from four of the first five
- 6:20Speaker 5: years of missing the postseason. When you want to change
- 6:23Speaker 5: the game in your own room, you find guys who
- 6:26Speaker 5: want to be here by choice, and guys who can
- 6:29Speaker 5: make major contributions to be here by choice.
- 6:32Speaker 1: I'll get to the totals here.
- 6:33Speaker 5: In just a bit, But to get him in, since
- 6:36Speaker 5: I think a pretty significant statement, we're looking for more
- 6:39Speaker 5: guys like that if you're cracking management, who buy in
- 6:42Speaker 5: just like him and can produce also like him.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Yeah, super intelligent guy too. You know, you hear him talk.
- 6:48Speaker 2: We've hit a chance to speak to him one to
- 6:50Speaker 2: one and he's spoken off the cuff a few times.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Very intelligent player away from the game, let alone the
- 6:57Speaker 2: game itself. You know. So you bring a lot from
- 7:00Speaker 2: that standpoint. But like you said, a guy that wants
- 7:03Speaker 2: to be here, a guy that's malleable, meaning you know,
- 7:06Speaker 2: he doesn't have to have a certain kind of guy
- 7:08Speaker 2: on his line for him to have success. Put him
- 7:11Speaker 2: with Maddy Benieers, put him with Coppo Cockle, put him,
- 7:13Speaker 2: put him wherever. He's going to make those little two
- 7:15Speaker 2: guys in his line better, better hockey players, which I love.
- 7:18Speaker 5: He's thirty years of age, and it's usually said that
- 7:21Speaker 5: players kind of hit their peek a little bit before that,
- 7:25Speaker 5: and on average it is a decline of the steady
- 7:29Speaker 5: variety right after that.
- 7:31Speaker 1: But here's what I.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Think says McMahon apart here from the average NHL player,
- 7:37Speaker 5: he's always looking to get better. We've had our conversations
- 7:41Speaker 5: with him, and I just think that for a guy
- 7:44Speaker 5: who knows how much it takes to make the NHL,
- 7:46Speaker 5: and not just make it, but stick in the NHL,
- 7:49Speaker 5: it's a pretty strong testimony when you can come from
- 7:52Speaker 5: a background where you're undrafted out of Colgate, you begin
- 7:56Speaker 5: in the EHL.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Then make your way all the way to the NHL.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Complacency is not in this guy's vocabulary, at least that's
- 8:04Speaker 5: from what i've read for the first you know, several
- 8:07Speaker 5: weeks with him being here in Seattle, so now at
- 8:11Speaker 5: age thirty, yet with a new contract in hand.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Thirty goals thirty five goals?
- 8:18Speaker 5: Is this attainable or are you looking for more of
- 8:20Speaker 5: twenty five to thirty around that ballpark figure?
- 8:24Speaker 2: Oh? I absolutely see him being a thirty plus goal scorer.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I mean, when you look at the games he played
- 8:29Speaker 2: at the end of the season and you start to
- 8:30Speaker 2: project out over an eighty four game season, now you
- 8:34Speaker 2: get kind of excited to see what he might be
- 8:36Speaker 2: able to do over that. Over that time span. Obviously,
- 8:41Speaker 2: things kind of fall off and there's ebbs and valleys
- 8:44Speaker 2: to a offense over the course of the season. But
- 8:48Speaker 2: I see no reason, like you, why he can't be
- 8:50Speaker 2: a thirty plus goal scorer on this team.
- 8:52Speaker 5: I think also for a lot of Crack and fans,
- 8:54Speaker 5: this day was pretty significant. I mean, listen, We don't
- 8:57Speaker 5: want to overblow this thing, like you know, you're bringing
- 8:59Speaker 5: in Connor mc david, or you're bringing in one of
- 9:01Speaker 5: the top you know, free agents here from any kind
- 9:04Speaker 5: of year. But this was a move that was pretty
- 9:07Speaker 5: clear cut to a lot of this fan base. It
- 9:10Speaker 5: was an obvious move that they had to make. You
- 9:13Speaker 5: celebrate the steps moving ahead now with a guy like this,
- 9:17Speaker 5: it was pretty significant. I thought, not just here for
- 9:19Speaker 5: the roster, but to also inject some goodwill. And that's
- 9:22Speaker 5: what this fan base got, certainly with getting Bobby McMahon
- 9:25Speaker 5: right back in a crack in Jersey. So he's all
- 9:28Speaker 5: locked up now, six year deal, five point seventy five
- 9:31Speaker 5: million dollars, incredible value. This was a big get in
- 9:35Speaker 5: what was going to be a very very paper thin
- 9:38Speaker 5: free agent class.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I just got a.
- 9:39Speaker 5: Whole lot thinner now with McMahon off the market and
- 9:43Speaker 5: choosing to be a part of the crack in long
- 9:46Speaker 5: term here on this six year deal. All right, before
- 9:49Speaker 5: that trade broke this morning, Mackie Samuskevitch, come on down.
- 9:54Speaker 5: You are a Seattle Kraken to Florida in exchange this
- 9:57Speaker 5: year's first round draft pick, twenty fifth overall conditional second
- 10:02Speaker 5: rounder next year and whatever finished this higher. Here the
- 10:05Speaker 5: pick originally going to Winnipeg or Columbus from the Tanevan
- 10:09Speaker 5: Marchmen trades, that higher pick will go to that team
- 10:14Speaker 5: from this year, but then that first round pick not
- 10:17Speaker 5: so fast. Florida then flipped that pick for a bomb
- 10:21Speaker 5: shell deal this morning in Brady Kuld Chuck so Ottawa
- 10:25Speaker 5: has entered the chat with this crazy Sunday. Nonetheless, back
- 10:30Speaker 5: to Mackie Samuskevitch, who the crack can get. At one
- 10:33Speaker 5: point he was Florida's top prospect, and I think for
- 10:36Speaker 5: a trade like this out they're betting on upside. Two
- 10:39Speaker 5: full seasons for him in the NHL. Fifteen goals for
- 10:43Speaker 5: him is a career high, but yet he is young.
- 10:45Speaker 5: He had twelve this last season. Yet he had the
- 10:48Speaker 5: best coursing numbers on Florida at five on five this
- 10:51Speaker 5: last year. He had the second best shot quality on
- 10:54Speaker 5: Florida at five on five this last year. The only
- 10:57Speaker 5: guy better you might have heard of him Matthew could Chuck.
- 11:01Speaker 5: He's a smaller, more compact player, but he's got speed.
- 11:05Speaker 5: He plays with a quick twitch type of style. He's
- 11:08Speaker 5: got a great shot as well, and a player who
- 11:10Speaker 5: potentially was coveted as maybe an offer sheet kind of guy.
- 11:15Speaker 5: But yet there's also some dressing room familiarity him for
- 11:18Speaker 5: him here him being a Michigan guy and guests who
- 11:21Speaker 5: he played with, Matty Beniers.
- 11:23Speaker 1: So what you look at this here from what Florida gets.
- 11:27Speaker 5: They had a bolster draft pool which they went to
- 11:30Speaker 5: the pool immediately and upgraded with. But yet they also
- 11:33Speaker 5: get cap relief here because I mean you look at
- 11:35Speaker 5: this with how Florida is stacked, there really was no
- 11:38Speaker 5: fitting Mackie Samuskevitch in their top six and potentially top
- 11:41Speaker 5: six is his ceiling as far as the player that
- 11:44Speaker 5: he can be. So you don't want to get too
- 11:46Speaker 5: crazy over this one. Al, But as a baseline as
- 11:49Speaker 5: far as change this offseason, the Krack and Haf basically said,
- 11:53Speaker 5: with this move, start your engines. Sam Uskevitch plays with pace,
- 11:57Speaker 5: his shot is lightning, quick, power play guy, and you'd
- 12:02Speaker 5: hope more e sign for him means more results. So, Al,
- 12:06Speaker 5: what kind of player do you think that they're getting here?
- 12:09Speaker 2: You know, Mike, when I buy a used car or
- 12:11Speaker 2: a used boat, I like to be the second owner.
- 12:14Speaker 2: I want to know that there haven't been five other
- 12:15Speaker 2: people that have used that vehicle before me. And in
- 12:17Speaker 2: the case of Samuskevitch, the krackaer the second owner this
- 12:21Speaker 2: This kid was drafted by the Florida Panthers in two
- 12:23Speaker 2: thousand and one, twenty fourth overall, So the crack and
- 12:27Speaker 2: giving up a twenty fifth first first round pick and
- 12:29Speaker 2: the second next year for a guy that was picked
- 12:32Speaker 2: in the first round. I like the fact that he's
- 12:35Speaker 2: twenty three. He's a young he's a young player. Let's
- 12:38Speaker 2: talk about his assets. You mentioned his elite skating. His
- 12:42Speaker 2: first three steps are fantastic. So you put him on
- 12:45Speaker 2: a line with Bobby McMahon, Oh my god, like you know,
- 12:49Speaker 2: up and down. Yeah, exactly. I feel bad for that
- 12:52Speaker 2: third four on that line. They're going to just naturally
- 12:54Speaker 2: become a faster skater, some high end puck skills, offensive creativity,
- 13:00Speaker 2: his hockey senses off the charts. Lots of upside there,
- 13:04Speaker 2: I think, you know, on his on his weaknesses, he's
- 13:08Speaker 2: obviously not a big guy. He's five to eleven, so
- 13:10Speaker 2: you're not going to expect it to see him win
- 13:12Speaker 2: puck battles on the boards like a Coppo Cocoa might
- 13:15Speaker 2: of that sort of thing. Is defensive details needs some work.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Lane Lambert will certainly drill that into him. Some finish
- 13:21Speaker 2: around the net needs work. But see, here's the thing.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Those those high end skills that I talked about, that skating,
- 13:29Speaker 2: those all need to be in place when you enter
- 13:31Speaker 2: the NHL defensive responsibility consistency. You're not going to fix size.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Some of those things can be fixed. Some of them
- 13:40Speaker 2: can never be fixed. But the point is is that
- 13:42Speaker 2: the things that can be fixed, they will get better
- 13:45Speaker 2: as he gets older, and he's coming into that twenty
- 13:47Speaker 2: three to twenty six year old period of his career
- 13:50Speaker 2: where I would expect those things to get better. So, yeah,
- 13:53Speaker 2: he had fifteen goals, a career high. I could see
- 13:56Speaker 2: him getting to a twenty five to thirty five goal
- 13:59Speaker 2: plateau very quick.
- 14:01Speaker 5: Let's get to where sam Uskevitch fits in here for
- 14:04Speaker 5: this lineup, because there's just so much volatility I think
- 14:07Speaker 5: with this group at the stage of the offseason. I mean,
- 14:09Speaker 5: you go back to last game for them, game eighty
- 14:12Speaker 5: two at Colorado.
- 14:13Speaker 1: You me Everett were all there.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Your right wingers for that game where Jordan Eberley, who's
- 14:18Speaker 5: still here of course, Yannie Newman, Ellie Tolvan and Ryan Winterton.
- 14:23Speaker 5: We'll see where Toulvenan fits into this picture. You know,
- 14:26Speaker 5: the closer and closer we get to July one, the
- 14:28Speaker 5: presumption is he might be hitting the open market. You
- 14:31Speaker 5: have Shane right of course, you know as a centerman,
- 14:34Speaker 5: and you know who's been involved in potential.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Trade talks according to reports.
- 14:37Speaker 5: But I mean it is wide open right now for
- 14:41Speaker 5: him to fit in out. And you talk power play
- 14:44Speaker 5: Matty Benier's Chandler Stevenson, Jordan Eberley, Berkeley, Catton, Shane Right,
- 14:48Speaker 5: Coppo Coco, Bobby McMahon, We're getting looks you you you
- 14:53Speaker 5: put him with the right guy. This could work out
- 14:56Speaker 5: just fine. Does he drive a line right now? That
- 14:59Speaker 5: may be a bit un air to say, I think
- 15:01Speaker 5: with him at this point, but you know, we assume
- 15:03Speaker 5: more moves are coming here with this team. But where
- 15:05Speaker 5: do you see him falling into the lineup here? Potentially?
- 15:07Speaker 5: I mean I think he maybe even hinted at this.
- 15:09Speaker 5: Put him up top with McMahon and ben Ears.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Well, the easy answer to that is Matty Vaniers, because
- 15:14Speaker 2: they played it together for a year in Michigan. They
- 15:17Speaker 2: know each other. You know, obviously Maddy in the middle
- 15:20Speaker 2: with with Seveisaviach on the on the wing, makes sense
- 15:23Speaker 2: who's the other winger on that line? I mentioned Coppocco earlier.
- 15:27Speaker 2: The nice thing about a guy like Coco on that
- 15:29Speaker 2: line is he's your guy that can dig pucks out
- 15:31Speaker 2: of the out of the corners. He's the guy that's
- 15:33Speaker 2: going to go to the front of the net. I
- 15:35Speaker 2: don't think you're going to see Samuskevitch battling for position
- 15:38Speaker 2: on top of the blue paint that often. He's going
- 15:41Speaker 2: to be the guy that's delivering pucks. He's going to
- 15:43Speaker 2: be the guy, you know, bringing the the the puck
- 15:45Speaker 2: into the offensive zone with speed. So a guy like
- 15:48Speaker 2: Kappocco on that line on one wing, along with the
- 15:51Speaker 2: Vaneers in the middle and Semiskivitch on the other, that
- 15:54Speaker 2: could be something you see early on the season that
- 15:57Speaker 2: Lei Lambert tries to see how those three work together.
- 16:00Speaker 5: As far as what went out the door to get
- 16:02Speaker 5: this trade finish, I like that they still have right
- 16:07Speaker 5: now the seventh overall pick to hang on to.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I mean, either a you look.
- 16:11Speaker 5: At a potential of getting a very good player and
- 16:14Speaker 5: many have said, once you get past Gavin McKenna ivar Stenberg,
- 16:18Speaker 5: you know there's a good deep pool, a very very good,
- 16:23Speaker 5: potentially top paired defenseman out there. Or potentially you could
- 16:29Speaker 5: still trade that pick if you're going to move up
- 16:31Speaker 5: or make a move for a bona Fie top line guy.
- 16:35Speaker 5: So the second rounder, I think is fine. You know,
- 16:38Speaker 5: those guys, if you find the right diamonds in the rough,
- 16:42Speaker 5: they can be NHL players. But those guys aren't guaranteed
- 16:44Speaker 5: anhellers Lay first rounder maybe surprise me. I mean, does
- 16:49Speaker 5: that help us at the market for other deals?
- 16:50Speaker 1: Who knows?
- 16:51Speaker 5: But you know there's still more projects, you know, more
- 16:54Speaker 5: for than a sure thing. And you know Florida eventually
- 16:57Speaker 5: use that pick to flip it to Ottawa for Brady
- 16:59Speaker 5: Kuld Chuck and massive deals. So you know that's for
- 17:01Speaker 5: a guy who was an off forsheet candidate. Next deal
- 17:05Speaker 5: maybe around three million dollars for him, he's an RFA
- 17:08Speaker 5: the floor maybe for him. I've read as Troy Brower
- 17:11Speaker 5: or Patrick Eves the ceiling, maybe Troy Terry or even
- 17:14Speaker 5: Adrian camp Based. So how do you feel about what
- 17:16Speaker 5: went out the door?
- 17:19Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 17:19Speaker 2: I mean, listen, you got to give something to get something,
- 17:23Speaker 2: and I think the crack and holding on to their
- 17:26Speaker 2: earlier first prom pick still gives them a chance. It's
- 17:29Speaker 2: somebody to put into their prospect pool. You know the
- 17:34Speaker 2: fact that they're giving up a first round pick to
- 17:36Speaker 2: get Samuskevitch tells me that they're looking for more balance
- 17:40Speaker 2: than that, that they don't want all these picks they
- 17:42Speaker 2: have coming up in the draft either, So you know,
- 17:45Speaker 2: if they don't deal their their their number seven pick,
- 17:48Speaker 2: I could see them looking at a guy like Keaton Verhoff,
- 17:51Speaker 2: a right shot defenceman they haven't gotten. They haven't gotten
- 17:54Speaker 2: any defenseman recently. Carson Carrell's as a defenseman. UH start
- 17:58Speaker 2: to start to fill that blue line pipeline back up
- 18:02Speaker 2: a little bit. Since you know, the last few years,
- 18:04Speaker 2: there's been a lot of centers and forwards that have
- 18:06Speaker 2: been added to the prospect list. So we'll see, we'll
- 18:10Speaker 2: see who's available. But I definitely would bet on a
- 18:12Speaker 2: defenseman if they end up taking that pick.
- 18:14Speaker 5: And shall we remind you June twenty six is Night
- 18:18Speaker 5: one of the NHL Draft. I will be with al
- 18:22Speaker 5: and ever it fits you and Ian Furness and with
- 18:26Speaker 5: you also at thirty two bar and we'll also be
- 18:28Speaker 5: talking about this potentially the seventh overall pick and much
- 18:32Speaker 5: more insight in connection here to this. So yeah, next
- 18:36Speaker 5: five days going to be pretty tell tale. But there's
- 18:38Speaker 5: also a bigger meaning here I think attached to this
- 18:41Speaker 5: for this offseason, and we expect news coming very soon
- 18:45Speaker 5: on this audit and it's bled deep into June now.
- 18:49Speaker 5: But if you've paid attention, folks, there's a theme growing
- 18:52Speaker 5: out of all of this. I think number one, just
- 18:55Speaker 5: on the sheer standpoint that you made the trade for Samuskevitch,
- 18:59Speaker 5: you get man also wrapped up before July one hits.
- 19:04Speaker 5: You know, the wheels are in motion. I think for
- 19:06Speaker 5: serious change, it's a good start. But Jason Bottrel also
- 19:11Speaker 5: has recited youth over and over. They've hired Pascal Vinson
- 19:16Speaker 5: on the bench, who's got a great background here in development.
- 19:21Speaker 5: They've hired Patrick Alvin in the front office part of
- 19:24Speaker 5: three cups with Pittsburgh. They've hired Justin Schultz also to
- 19:28Speaker 5: work with young defensemen. And they made a trade with
- 19:31Speaker 5: or for Samuskevitch based on potential, not on resume. So
- 19:37Speaker 5: is this going to be the big fish trade Obviously
- 19:39Speaker 5: the odds say no, and I think we learned last
- 19:42Speaker 5: summer you can take a swing in June, but it's
- 19:45Speaker 5: only a move to get out of the starting blocks.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Mason Marshman was a Jum pick up and he was
- 19:50Speaker 5: out of the organization by Christmas. But even if this
- 19:53Speaker 5: isn't branded a full rebuild, it feels like a soft
- 19:57Speaker 5: turnover of a variety of it.
- 20:00Speaker 1: You've likely got.
- 20:01Speaker 5: A few veterans going out the door this summer, but
- 20:04Speaker 5: you're not tearing the whole thing down to the studs.
- 20:07Speaker 5: But they've got to keep the trade crank moving. Free
- 20:11Speaker 5: agency is going to be a bear cupboard here for
- 20:14Speaker 5: this summer, so they're gonna have to bank success on IFFs.
- 20:18Speaker 5: But if Samuskevitch hits his Marx, this is a solid pickup,
- 20:23Speaker 5: then of course McMahon's good to go, assuming he's healthy.
- 20:27Speaker 5: But a Memm with the right line mates potentially thirty
- 20:30Speaker 5: goals the kind of game they want to play, it's
- 20:33Speaker 5: a great fit. That's a big, big win for you.
- 20:36Speaker 5: But then you keep the doors open here to trade
- 20:38Speaker 5: for someone more established, potentially to fill your top line.
- 20:42Speaker 5: That'll be a bigger part of the offseason.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Recipe. Yeah, I think you're right, Mike, and I think
- 20:48Speaker 2: that's you know, where the team is this year compared
- 20:51Speaker 2: to where they are last year. I think they're much
- 20:54Speaker 2: further ahead. Those two big announcements between the sign with
- 21:00Speaker 2: Bobby mcmahonnon and pick up the sand of Skevitch puts
- 21:03Speaker 2: them in a much better position, I think, than where
- 21:05Speaker 2: they were last year at this time. And we're not
- 21:07Speaker 2: having done yet, we don't know that could be more.
- 21:10Speaker 2: That couple of what's changed in the front office, what's
- 21:13Speaker 2: changed on the bench, I think are all good signs
- 21:16Speaker 2: that we're going to point this team in the right correction.
- 21:18Speaker 5: All right, great starts so far again the crack and
- 21:20Speaker 5: getting Mackie Samuskevitch via trade from the Florida Panthers and
- 21:24Speaker 5: then capping it off here on Father's Day, but the
- 21:26Speaker 5: extension of Bobby McMahon for six more years and is
- 21:30Speaker 5: still just June twenty first, looking forward to more going
- 21:34Speaker 5: down here, potentially here as the Kranck and go through
- 21:37Speaker 5: what could be a big summer of change. I'm looking
- 21:40Speaker 5: forward to June twenty six with you, al But in
- 21:42Speaker 5: the meantime, you got a food comba here to get
- 21:45Speaker 5: to I.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Think right, yeah, having bothers in to you, Mikey.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Happy Father's Day, my friend and those of you for
- 21:50Speaker 5: who are celebrating as well. Again the Kracken picking up
- 21:54Speaker 5: Mackie Samuskevitch via tray. Bobby McMahon also back in the

- 22:31Speaker 5: down if that pick is not out the door via trade?
- 22:35Speaker 5: We cannot wait to talk about this with you big.
