- 5:54Speaker 2: So tonight this is our third annual Halloween podcast.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Supernation.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I have done it.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I've got for everybody, all the listeners.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I've got a carve pumpkin with 13 on it because it's 13 year, but like Friday the 13th, and we've got Michael Meyer here with the mask.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Supernash is wearing his Michael Meyers.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Jason Vorhe, yeah, jason Vorhe.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Sorry, I'm sorry.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Friday the 13th, yes, friday the 13th.
- 6:24Speaker 2: I get my horrors confused sometimes, but then we've got him here because, well, isn't, isn't Michael Meyer Halloween, and Friday the 13th is Jason, right?
- 6:36Speaker 3: Michael Meyers is Halloween.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Friday the 13th is Jason.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Vorhe.
- 6:40Speaker 2: So who?
- 6:42Speaker 2: Who does the who does the actor that we met play?
- 6:47Speaker 2: Does he play Michael Meyer?
- 6:48Speaker 2: You know from the Luca Mariano, when we went to Luca Mark, their Supernash.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Totally blew my mind, but no.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Yeah, he was the Friday the yeah he was.
- 7:09Speaker 2: He was Halloween, right, the Halloween guy, yep.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Anyways, I wish I could remember his name, but it ain't there.
- 7:17Speaker 2: And you can go back to that Luca Mariano podcast and I'm sure we talked all about hanging out with him and having fun.
- 7:26Speaker 2: But you know, sometimes, sometimes that's how it works here, and then you know, if we were a well produced show, we wouldn't bring stuff up like that where we can't remember their names, and then I'm sitting there going well, I can't remember the name.
- 7:41Speaker 2: So maybe Supernash can remember the name and then whiskey might be able to remember the name because he was following along then he really wasn't part of the podcast, so, but nobody remembered, we didn't have it.
- 7:51Speaker 2: So anyways, I'm not.
- 7:57Speaker 3: My face is covered.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Nobody knows who I am.
- 8:01Speaker 2: But yeah, except this is the audio podcast and everybody knows who you are.
- 8:06Speaker 2: So what we got.
- 8:12Speaker 2: So what do we got tonight?
- 8:13Speaker 2: Their Supernash.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Well, this year we decided to go with 13 year old bourbons.
- 8:23Speaker 3: So we are going to be drinking Russell's Reserve 13 year old aged bourbon and select stock 13 year old small batch bourbon, but then it was aged two more years in Chinnawoffin barrels for two years.
- 9:31Speaker 3: And then we have Baker's.
- 9:37Speaker 3: It sounds like tiny map.
- 9:38Speaker 3: So that's 13 plus two.
- 9:40Speaker 3: So it's actually 50.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's 13 year old whiskey.
- 9:43Speaker 2: That's how it works 13 year old whiskey, two years finished.
- 9:48Speaker 3: That's the best we could come up with this year, but it was Baker's 13.
- 9:54Speaker 3: There it is, so that was the 13 year olds that we could come up with.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Yes, you are right.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Tiny number two, tiny whiskey.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Yeah, tiny number two was right, it is a 15 year, but we both did 15 years old, if you count the two years of finishing in a coffin barrel.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's just like all the Friday the 13th movies are all 30 and 40 years old.
- 10:27Speaker 2: So that's okay.
- 10:30Speaker 2: It was only Friday the 13th back then.
- 10:32Speaker 2: So at one point this whiskey was 13 years old, got taken out and put back into a 15 year to make it two years into another barrel.
- 10:40Speaker 2: So it's a 13 plus two, right.
- 10:44Speaker 3: You're confusing me.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Okay, so then, so you got.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Did you, today, get a bookers?
- 10:53Speaker 2: Did you pick up a bookers?
- 10:55Speaker 2: Yes, and then, courtesy of whiskey, he picked up the best bookers.
- 11:01Speaker 2: So let's just see how this podcast rolls on this Halloween party 2023.
- 11:07Speaker 2: And let's get it started.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I mean, out of all of them, we, you know, we got the bakers 13, which is 107 proof, right.
- 11:21Speaker 2: And then we've got the barrel strength Russell's, which you know that's what this is barrel proof.
- 11:28Speaker 2: So this one was what is yours I actually have.
- 11:37Speaker 2: This is the end of batch one.
- 11:41Speaker 3: You've got the end of batch one yeah, you actually have this bottle and just pull the still off of it.
- 11:47Speaker 3: This is back to it.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Actually, I wrote it down here in big letters so I can see it in the dark.
- 11:58Speaker 3: It is LLJL, batch two.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Yep, it is at 9,114.8 proof.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Age 13 years.
- 12:11Speaker 2: This actually doesn't have the proof, batch one.
- 12:17Speaker 3: It's a corn, 13% rye, 12% barley 114.3.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Is that what you said, 114.8.
- 12:27Speaker 2: This one's one.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Jet brothers 114.8 too.
- 12:32Speaker 2: All right, let's pop that baby.
- 12:34Speaker 2: This is one of my all time.
- 12:36Speaker 2: What are we going for?
- 12:37Speaker 3: What.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I think I got the 13 memo.
- 12:40Speaker 3: I didn't get the 13 memo, so I looked for things that might have something to do with Halloween.
- 12:44Speaker 3: I thought, oh, jeff, that sounds black.
- 12:46Speaker 3: So Halloween is black.
- 12:48Speaker 3: We'll drink ol' jet.
- 12:50Speaker 2: There you go.
- 12:51Speaker 2: All right, we're starting with the bakers, let's start with the bakers 13.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I was like go what you said you were going with the grosses 13.
- 12:59Speaker 2: 13.4.
- 13:00Speaker 2: I threw a curve ball.
- 13:05Speaker 2: It's like the bourbon guru has thrown a and everybody watching on Facebook.
- 13:10Speaker 2: No, now we got CT watching on Facebook.
- 13:13Speaker 2: He's not coming in on the podcast, he's watching on Facebook.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Anybody with questions, feel free.
- 13:21Speaker 2: You know I was trying to get open earlier that crown.
- 13:27Speaker 3: We talked about the Russell's 13.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Let's talk about a little bit about the Becky, 13 year old single barrel bourbon.
- 13:36Speaker 2: And about how we got it.
- 13:37Speaker 2: You know how we came across on this.
- 13:38Speaker 2: It's just oh gosh.
- 13:41Speaker 3: We came across multiple bottles.
- 13:43Speaker 3: You could buy all you wanted at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival and even get the bottle signed if you wanted to.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Yep, and this is August 2023, release 107 fruit age 13 years, and it's a 77% corn, 13% rye and 10% molson barley With a dark copper color.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's yeah, it definitely is.
- 14:14Speaker 2: I'm gonna pour mine, I'm gonna get mine.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Oh, I opened it.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Let's put it back in and shake her up a little bit.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Ah, I wanna get some of that.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Yep, all right, we're gonna put this.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Are you getting that little neck floor out of the way?
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, one thing about that is I was traveling around a couple summers ago and I had that foolproof pick that you sent up to me, the Weller foolproof store pick.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Carl Henley's trying to scare everybody.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Who is?
- 14:49Speaker 3: Carl Henley Carl.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Henley, I'm here watching this and he's throwing up all these guys he's throwing up.
- 14:55Speaker 3: He's trying to be Halloween.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Dario Wilson says happy Halloween.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Hey, Dario, the Bourbon Guru is here for your.
- 15:07Speaker 2: At any of your questions, I'm willing to answer them.
- 15:13Speaker 2: So, Dario Dario is from Wisconsin.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Dario Dario, it Don't put your hands together like that.
- 15:20Speaker 3: It reminds me of being raised in the Catholic church.
- 15:24Speaker 2: But I'm just calming everybody.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Calming.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Nash is.
- 15:31Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 15:33Speaker 2: That's just what I do as it just.
- 15:35Speaker 2: It needs to be calm, All my wisdom.
- 15:41Speaker 3: You're gonna move.
- 15:42Speaker 3: I'll explain a lot about you.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't even.
- 15:45Speaker 2: You don't even know what I'm wearing here.
- 15:48Speaker 2: So I got, let's see it seems like so.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Did you stole from Ron?
- 15:53Speaker 2: too.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I got some.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Let's see, does that get up there?
- 15:55Speaker 2: Am I getting it?
- 15:56Speaker 3: It's up up, up, there you go, the pumpkin in the book, you're in the way.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Let's see the pumpkins in the way.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Is not an X-rated Bourbon podcast?
- 16:06Speaker 2: What A white pair of pants is?
- 16:09Speaker 2: How is?
- 16:10Speaker 2: How is Bourbon?
- 16:12Speaker 3: for that Exactly.
- 16:13Speaker 2: He says, is that the new bakers?
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yes, this is the bakers 13,.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Dario, we are in the process.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Tonight's podcast.
- 16:22Speaker 2: If you're used to our normal structure podcast, it's gonna be off the wall.
- 16:26Speaker 2: We're trying to.
- 16:27Speaker 2: This is a Halloween party podcast, this one is.
- 16:31Speaker 2: If you're listening along to now, it's like grab a pour, enjoy yourself, because this is what we're doing tonight.
- 16:39Speaker 2: We are basically.
- 16:40Speaker 2: This is our Halloween party and we're ready to party.
- 16:44Speaker 2: So this bakers 13,.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Just a little bit of history with myself and my wife, or Roxy.
- 16:53Speaker 2: This is one of her favorite all time.
- 16:57Speaker 2: She loved the bakers 107.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Before it was a single barrel.
- 17:02Speaker 2: You know the old bakers.
- 17:03Speaker 2: When it was a blend, it's we would get that and it had a certain consistency that she liked about it and it was the first real Bourbon that after I got her onto Bourbon, this was the one that she clung to.
- 17:23Speaker 2: This and IW Harper 15.
- 17:26Speaker 3: We didn't grab a pass of too much information.
- 17:29Speaker 2: No.
- 17:29Speaker 2: So anyways, bakers really was a part of what we did when we first started out.
- 17:35Speaker 2: So I've always got the seven.
- 17:38Speaker 2: And then when they came out with the 13, I was like Dario, he says he's looking for it, I was looking for it and of course, nash, he comes up and he's got a half a bottle and my wife absolutely loved it and he left that bottle up here.
- 17:55Speaker 2: So that was our first, you know, think you know what, would you say.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Our first hit and run with bakers 13.
- 18:01Speaker 2: And it is bakers 13 is oh my God, this batch is carmally.
- 18:06Speaker 2: The nose is fantastic.
- 18:09Speaker 2: You really.
- 18:10Speaker 2: The gym beam peanut is really rich, almost like they're roasted peanuts.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Very prevalent right there.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I mean it's got all the notes of the gym beam that you that always come through.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Then you got Dario.
- 18:27Speaker 2: He says he's looking for it, dario, next year Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 18:31Speaker 2: I first got a, bought one and it was signed by Baker, fred and Freddie know, baker beam, freddie and Fred know, and I had it.
- 18:41Speaker 2: And then I'm like, well, I should get another one, because I'll never drink that one.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I mean, it's signed by Baker too.
- 18:48Speaker 2: I mean it's just crazy.
- 18:50Speaker 2: So I've got that bottle and this bottle, but you could have bought as many as you want.
- 18:55Speaker 2: What were they?
- 18:55Speaker 2: 159.99, I think it was 159.99 was 49.
- 19:03Speaker 3: It was 54 plus that yeah yeah, it was.
- 19:07Speaker 2: It's a little pricey Dario.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Now, it was never, I think, the first time you bought.
- 19:12Speaker 3: I bought 15 bucks more at the festival than what normally you can get at the ABC store.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Right, although the state control.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I didn't feel the festival was like a distillery.
- 19:26Speaker 3: I felt the festival prices were pretty close to the prices you get for MSRP here in Ohio, I mean for being able to walk right up there and get as many as you want, that 10 or 12 bucks more.
- 19:40Speaker 3: I was more than willing to pay for it.
- 19:44Speaker 3: I got that signed bottle and then, plus, I came home with two more of these because I have my wife with me.
- 19:51Speaker 2: So CT, how do you I?
- 19:52Speaker 3: didn't even need my wife, I mean on these right here.
- 19:54Speaker 3: There was no, there was no limit on these.
- 19:58Speaker 3: I mean, you could buy as many as you wanted per person.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Why do you?
- 20:01Speaker 2: Ct says he has no volume, but a Dario saying he's got volume.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I don't know why CT doesn't have volumes, but he says he's very impressed by the two tinies.
- 20:09Speaker 2: That's what CT's saying.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I have to say, I have to say this world's not big enough for two tinies.
- 20:17Speaker 2: You probably should go.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I'm just gonna say that I am in.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I hey, carl whiskey, you have upped your game on this one.
- 20:28Speaker 2: There is no, no doubt about it, and he's manning up the thing.
- 20:34Speaker 2: So, so, whiskey, are you drinking the old Jet Brothers right now?
- 20:38Speaker 2: Is that in your glass?
- 20:41Speaker 3: If I were to, if I were to have a blindfold on right now.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I probably couldn't tell you to afford, I got here.
- 20:51Speaker 3: I find out a blindfold on.
- 20:52Speaker 3: You're not listening.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I heard I am impressed.
- 20:59Speaker 2: I mean, I seriously am impressed you brought your A game.
- 21:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to figure out how to get a sharper camera to you.
- 21:07Speaker 2: But other than that, man, it is just like I look at it and I gotta look away because I just feel like I feel like I'm looking at myself and I don't like to do that, oh my God.
- 21:25Speaker 2: So, anyways, this is awesome.
- 21:32Speaker 2: This bakers, let's just so.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Hey, whiskey or tiny tiny whiskey, I don't even know what to call you what.
- 21:43Speaker 2: What are you?
- 21:44Speaker 2: What are you drinking?
- 21:46Speaker 2: Whiskey.
- 21:49Speaker 3: You'll jump out of it.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Okay, Just follow the nearly nearly getting this right.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Okay, so I liked that French oak.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I went out when I went down there initially I picked that French oak.
- 21:59Speaker 2: We got to taste everyone and Rebecca was letting us bring some back for the podcast and I picked that French oak.
- 22:08Speaker 2: That double French is just.
- 22:11Speaker 2: We got to actually go down there and taste that barrel right from the barrel.
- 22:15Speaker 2: It was spectacular.
- 22:16Speaker 2: I think you were.
- 22:18Speaker 3: She drilled into that barrel and let us taste it Me you and Rocky.
- 22:22Speaker 3: That was at Christmas time last year.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah about this time and we're gonna be going down again.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Yep, I will say that this particular bottle has the most notes of cocoa chocolate on the finish of anything that I've ever drank.
- 22:42Speaker 3: It's the craziest thing.
- 22:44Speaker 3: It almost finishes with like a light milky cocoa, which is nuts.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you, bryce.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Although, you're not watching it.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Well, he might watch it eventually.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Sometimes Rebecca chimes in too, but did you pick up those cocoa nuts at those cocoa notes at the bourbon on the banks when you were drinking it the first time?
- 23:10Speaker 2: Were you picking that yeah?
- 23:13Speaker 3: Did you pick up those coconut?
- 23:15Speaker 3: Yeah, did you pick up your nuts?
- 23:17Speaker 2: at the bourbon on the banks, the cocoa nuts.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I picked up those cocoa nuts.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Did you pick up the coconut at the bourbon?
- 23:25Speaker 2: on the banks.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 23:31Speaker 3: You know, bourbon, you're rude.
- 23:32Speaker 3: I mean, a lot of gurus are unique, so where did you leave your nuts?
- 23:35Speaker 2: I hey, we're not talking about the gurus nuts tonight.
- 23:40Speaker 2: This is not that we are talking.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I am not just a guru, I am the bourbon guru, so we don't need to get into any other subject besides bourbon tonight.
- 23:51Speaker 2: So this Baker's 13, what do you think in a super Nash?
- 23:58Speaker 3: Give it a minute, give me that eight out of ten.
- 24:05Speaker 3: The little oaky Yep Sweet vanilla caramel.
- 24:13Speaker 3: The little raspberry in there, little tart raspberry in there, some toasted marshmallow, part of that vanilla that I'm tasting, man, it's good.
- 24:36Speaker 3: I mean good mouth, still good finish.
- 24:40Speaker 3: I mean if I was rating it like you know, one with 10, I'd probably give it an eight.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Or if you're a one to 100, you give it an 80.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's, it's, it is on, at least it's oaky, sweet.
- 24:54Speaker 2: You know, that's one thing, bakers.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Seven is not, it's not this oaky.
- 25:00Speaker 2: So you're picking up, but what do you expect when you add six more years?
- 25:03Speaker 2: Right, and one of the things I'll still go back to all, on the interview we did with Fred Noe at Kentucky Bourbon Festival, he said when you know, when people started getting those extra aged Bourbons, the one thing he's always, you know, as a master distiller, he doesn't want it to get, and he used this word too woody.
- 25:27Speaker 2: So I, I, you know they're really.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Now this is, it's, got it and it's a 13 year and honestly I have no problem when a 13 year has this amount of oak, you know those tannins and whatever, and it's a sweeter oak it's.
- 25:43Speaker 2: I don't like the bitter wood flavoring that happens.
- 25:47Speaker 2: If it gets into those bitter tannins, then that turns me off.
- 25:50Speaker 2: It doesn't have a, it's.
- 25:53Speaker 2: It's definitely doing the wood thing.
- 25:56Speaker 2: It's not doing tobacco, it's not doing you know, it's not doing the.
- 26:01Speaker 2: It's not doing the chocolate, tobacco or leather.
- 26:07Speaker 2: It is a definite wood aspect but very enjoyable and I would agree with you.
- 26:14Speaker 2: It's probably that 81, 82 out of 100.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Right, there is what I would have rated it so all right, the cooking.
- 26:23Speaker 3: This goes away, you know, across the finish because all the other flavors are coming through on the finish.
- 26:32Speaker 3: To me, you know the caramel and that raspberry tartness as it finishes off.
- 26:39Speaker 3: That's what I'm leaving it for me with is in my mouth.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Well, a lot of times people refer to bakers as bookers proof down.
- 26:51Speaker 2: You know you're getting it down.
- 26:52Speaker 2: You know bookers is at 120 and then bakers it's down to 107, you know that type of thing at.
- 26:59Speaker 2: You know the age and the blend.
- 27:01Speaker 2: It's just definitely I mean.
- 27:03Speaker 2: But it doesn't.
- 27:03Speaker 2: It's not in the same realm of of Knob Creek, it's just more in the bookers.
- 27:09Speaker 2: You know Knob Creek has its own profile right.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Long, long finish on it to me.
- 27:16Speaker 3: And what did you say to the term they used for it?
- 27:22Speaker 2: What Fred Fred, no actually said I just don't like it too woody.
- 27:27Speaker 2: I mean, that's what he said when he said it, it's, it's.
- 27:30Speaker 2: You know, on when we were doing it it was just like, yeah, he's the master distiller and you understood what he was saying.
- 27:36Speaker 2: He just doesn't like too much as he gets older.
- 27:39Speaker 2: He just doesn't want that barrel being introduced too much.
- 27:43Speaker 2: And that's where you referred to it as too woody.
- 27:45Speaker 2: It picks up the oaky flavors Where's a lot of other time.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Honestly, I know just how it feels.
- 27:50Speaker 3: I feel the same way at the shower and the gym.
- 27:53Speaker 3: I mean, I just don't want that to hold straight.
- 27:55Speaker 2: You do rely.
- 27:56Speaker 2: You were going this whole time, Tiny.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Especially, you know, at the gym.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and, and if you're at the gym, I mean, you do know your nickname.
- 28:07Speaker 2: You know you have the nickname Tiny, so that probably makes a lot of sense what you just said.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Well, that's because it's a lot easier to say than old, frankly both or Jesus.
- 28:25Speaker 2: God, all right.
- 28:27Speaker 2: So, oh, hell the way.
- 28:28Speaker 2: So we have cheers.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Everybody we are putting.
- 28:32Speaker 2: We're going to put this one.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Let's see what happens when I put this over.
- 28:36Speaker 2: I'm going to put this one over here.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Is it in the?
- 28:37Speaker 2: It might be in the way.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I don't want to get too much in the way of the YouTube, but I'll put that Baker's 13 with that.
- 28:45Speaker 3: But before you guys drink again, can I go on the record about a serious subject?
- 28:49Speaker 3: Hello, and here we go, the first time.
- 28:54Speaker 3: When whiskey says serious, it's not the first time in my life that I've ever worn a gold cap and having just sat here for 45 minutes in this thing, I can't believe that every penis in America is not on strike at this point.
- 29:13Speaker 2: There you have it, there you go.
- 29:15Speaker 2: All I could say I have not had hair.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Every penis in America is not on strike.
- 29:23Speaker 3: There you go.
- 29:25Speaker 2: I have not had hair.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Now, wait, can we get serious?
- 29:28Speaker 2: Can we get serious?
- 29:29Speaker 2: I have not had hair in 20 years.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I have not had hair and tonight I have hair.
- 29:38Speaker 2: And I'm surprised that every person that has hair isn't on strike tonight, because hair is hot and it sucks.
- 29:48Speaker 2: It's in my face, it's all over, it's like I just I used that.
- 29:52Speaker 2: When I had it I didn't realize how much of a pain in the ass it was, but I'm so glad that I don't have it anymore, because this is like I think I'm.
- 30:02Speaker 2: I think I'm, at this point, on the close verge of going insane, although I do look good.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I got the look right.
- 30:11Speaker 2: I mean, I should wear wigs more often, right?
- 30:15Speaker 2: You got the look of the unemployed guy like that hangs outside of the.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Fisher's food.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Exactly, I got that.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Look the rock band look.
- 30:24Speaker 3: I, I, or the guy that's going to try and buy beer with food stamps.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you got that look.
- 30:30Speaker 2: So John Ritt just said he doesn't have any of the 13 year bottles in his inventory, so they'll have to just do with the Weller 107.
- 30:38Speaker 2: That is fine, but now we are going to go to a barrel.
- 30:44Speaker 2: So do you want to do Nash the Chica pin?
- 30:50Speaker 2: Sheik of pin.
- 30:51Speaker 2: I just can't.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Hey, tiny, how do you say this?
- 30:56Speaker 2: What kind of barrels?
- 30:59Speaker 3: Chinkwapon, Chikawapon, we really want to chop a chop yeah.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Chikapon, chinkwapon, chinkwapon.
- 31:09Speaker 2: No, actually, ct said it's a Chinkwapon barrel, shin Shin.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Kwapon barrels yeah.
- 31:19Speaker 2: OK, so here we go.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Kwapon John's watching.
- 31:23Speaker 2: He's drinking some Weller 107, some antique.
- 31:26Speaker 2: But I'm going to open up the sheik I was going to.
- 31:30Speaker 3: You have to click the C more because he's mixing it with Weller for himself to a 13 year.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Did he say that?
- 31:35Speaker 2: And he's the little thing that says C more.
- 31:39Speaker 2: That is at least 13.
- 31:41Speaker 2: It's not another name for him, it means C more.
- 31:44Speaker 2: You know, tiny, you got a lot smarter since the last time.
- 31:52Speaker 2: You don't have a 13 year, you could just do 13 shots CT.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds good to me.
- 32:01Speaker 3: So you know these private select Another member of the scotchy, where the boys scotch, scotch scotch scotch scotch.
- 32:13Speaker 2: There we go, come on.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Come on, nash, let's see the scotchy scotch.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Scotch scotch.
- 32:17Speaker 2: John says ha, that whiskey.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Tom Leonard is watching.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Nice to have you.
- 32:27Speaker 2: So these.
- 32:28Speaker 2: So the next one that we're doing is the private barrel select select stock, the private Heaven Hill select stock.
- 32:36Speaker 2: I'm like making all this shit up.
- 32:39Speaker 2: He's literally going to chop himself to pieces.
- 32:43Speaker 2: He's got machete.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I was like watching it.
- 32:46Speaker 2: It's like Sherry, stay the hell away from him.
- 32:49Speaker 2: He's going to chop his arm off.
- 32:51Speaker 2: But these, these, these Heaven Hill select stocks.
- 32:56Speaker 2: I'm like private barrel selects.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I'm just like making up what's there, no, but these Heaven Hills, oh, it's just a flesh wound.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Just a flesh wound, I'll pour some bourbon on it.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Nash, for as much as you drink, there's private bourbon coming out of it.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Exactly so.
- 33:26Speaker 2: These select stocks are expensive.
- 33:28Speaker 2: This 13 year select stock at the festival I I.
- 33:33Speaker 2: This was up there.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I don't remember exactly, but it was up there.
- 33:37Speaker 2: I opened it.
- 33:39Speaker 2: It's open.
- 33:40Speaker 2: So it's no longer.
- 33:41Speaker 2: It's no longer got a value, but tiny whiskey.
- 33:45Speaker 3: tiny whiskey remembers how much it was.
- 33:49Speaker 2: He didn't buy one 160.
- 33:51Speaker 1: There was $169.
- 33:53Speaker 3: $169.99.
- 33:54Speaker 2: OK, and so this 13 year.
- 33:57Speaker 3: You need to talk.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Hang on, put the bottle down.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Put the bottle down.
- 34:01Speaker 3: It's been bugging me with you with that hair and your little setup tonight exactly what you remind me of.
- 34:07Speaker 3: You're like a fat Howard Stern.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I'm thin compared to Howard now.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Exactly, I don't think so.
- 34:16Speaker 3: If you shave if you shave the beard, you'd look just like that.
- 34:20Speaker 2: You're so full of crap.
- 34:21Speaker 2: The beard ink is shot and I don't have glasses on and Howard's a dork and I'm cool.
- 34:26Speaker 2: I look I.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Put your readers on.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Put your readers on.
- 34:31Speaker 2: I look like Vince Neil.
- 34:32Speaker 2: You will.
- 34:35Speaker 2: What are you talking about?
- 34:37Speaker 2: Did you see him?
- 34:38Speaker 2: I'm closer to that comment.
- 34:39Speaker 2: I'm thinner than Vince Neil.
- 34:43Speaker 3: You don't look anything like this I maybe I'm just I'm old.
- 34:51Speaker 2: I'm 60 year old, Axl Rose.
- 34:56Speaker 3: So that would make you what dad.
- 35:01Speaker 2: I'm picking this shit up again.
- 35:02Speaker 2: You can kind of you all can figure it out.
- 35:04Speaker 2: I'll let the if there's any girls watching, tell me who I look like.
- 35:08Speaker 2: I want to know why wait?
- 35:10Speaker 2: Why does this?
- 35:11Speaker 2: All right, so I put the clean glass.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Is that what you look like if you got a friend to buy beer with a food stamp?
- 35:17Speaker 3: And for the camera for review.
- 35:19Speaker 3: We are got you, glen.
- 35:24Speaker 2: You know the, you know whiskey Finish in.
- 35:28Speaker 3: You know shinkwimpin.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Shinkwimpin.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Yep, there it was.
- 35:33Speaker 2: You said it, shinkwimpin, that's it.
- 35:35Speaker 2: So, so whiskey.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Just so you know you look like me a little bit, but I've I've rarely come on this podcast without a hat.
- 35:47Speaker 2: So it's not, it's not you.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Where's the hat?
- 35:52Speaker 2: I mean that's you.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Look, I love the goatee and I get the hat aspect of it, but where is the backwards hat?
- 36:01Speaker 2: That backwards hat has you give you do that.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Then you got it.
- 36:06Speaker 3: I said something to Mrs Tiny too.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Now I don't own a baseball cap.
- 36:12Speaker 2: She does, she doesn't.
- 36:16Speaker 2: You guys don't own baseball caps.
- 36:18Speaker 2: I don't even know how that's possible.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Not even one.
- 36:25Speaker 2: It's real easy.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Not one.
- 36:29Speaker 3: I did find one that's in some memorabilia I have and I was going to wear it, since it was backwards, okay, and it turns out it was a youth size and that just wasn't, and that's not happened, oh, so so that wasn't your initial, okay, so I got a really cool story to tell you all.
- 36:49Speaker 3: So I yes, yes yes.
- 36:56Speaker 2: So, Cete so a couple, couple of months ago, cete was complaining about the Scotchy Bourbon Boys logo.
- 37:03Speaker 2: I won't tell you what it is, but he was saying it looks like something.
- 37:07Speaker 2: And so I was sharing.
- 37:10Speaker 2: I was sharing to different podcasts you know the the podcast, the different acts, and sharing to the different things and all of a sudden I saw Amazon and it popped up as a thing I could share the podcast to.
- 37:25Speaker 2: So I clicked on it and it it said Scotchy Bourbon Boys merchandise kind of thing, and it said let me search for that.
- 37:36Speaker 2: So I hit it right and it wasn't going to share it, but it was searching and it came up with about 400 pictures of black T shirts with chocolate chip cookies on it.
- 37:49Speaker 2: It's just like exactly what the logo you know the logo, our Scotchy Bourbon Boys logo and Cete was telling me a couple, you know, two months ago, three months ago, that logo looked like a chocolate chip cookie.
- 38:05Speaker 2: So Amazon and AI agree that the Scotchy Bourbon Boys logo looks like a chocolate cookie, but I don't.
- 38:12Speaker 2: I don't have a problem with that, does anybody else?
- 38:16Speaker 3: Yes, you know, we're all coming to the Kentucky Bourbon Festival distillers party next year dressed as yes, we are.
- 38:24Speaker 2: And luck with that.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I'm going to get me a real.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Studio made Jeff Mueller ball head cap Again.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Not going to be the tiny whiskey, Not one of the prophylactic ones.
- 38:50Speaker 2: What did you do?
- 38:51Speaker 2: Pop a ball and put it on your head?
- 38:53Speaker 2: No, I made no.
- 38:56Speaker 2: One blows my mind as you found a skull cap.
- 38:59Speaker 2: You, freaking, you, he freaking found a skull cap, but he couldn't find a baseball cap to put on backwards.
- 39:09Speaker 2: I mean, is this that say something whiskey?
- 39:12Speaker 2: I mean, what the hell?
- 39:21Speaker 3: So this is, this is this goatee.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Had to be put on here at a time.
- 39:26Speaker 3: It looks great.
- 39:30Speaker 2: It does.
- 39:30Speaker 2: It's the part of the it makes the it makes the costume.
- 39:37Speaker 2: So what do you think of this, shinkwapin?
- 39:48Speaker 3: Shinkwapin.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Shinkwapin Finish barrel.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Lots of lots of fruit.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Yeah, apricot cherry apricot.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Some sort of melon, maybe even canola.
- 40:16Speaker 3: Is it this kind of melon?
- 40:20Speaker 2: No, isn't it funny that tonight, the night he's making all the jokes I show up with hair.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Anybody knew to the podcast.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Last year I did Stone Cold.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I was just like out here All I had was a black vest and whatever, but tonight I went with the bourbon guru.
- 40:42Speaker 2: So if anybody out there is watching, just remember if you have questions, the bourbon guru will answer your questions.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Oh, all right, so this Shinkwapin.
- 40:56Speaker 3: I got a question.
- 40:58Speaker 2: I agree, but not the same.
- 41:01Speaker 3: What did you ever find a date?
- 41:02Speaker 3: Why you ever find a date?
- 41:10Speaker 2: for.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Like way back in the day.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Was Rachel really nearsighted or blind?
- 41:17Speaker 2: You're just jealous, you are jealous, jealous, jealous.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you're back in the day.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just like the-.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Does she claim temporary insanity or amnesia?
- 41:27Speaker 3: I mean, what the hell?
- 41:31Speaker 2: No, After high school I had no problem finding dates.
- 41:36Speaker 2: I don't have a problem finding a date.
- 41:45Speaker 2: I wouldn't have a problem finding a date.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Now it's probably true.
- 41:51Speaker 3: If you headed out to the game club, I think they'd be rolling over you.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Nah.
- 41:57Speaker 2: A normal date wouldn't be a problem.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Anyways, not that I'm looking.
- 42:01Speaker 2: I'm not looking, hey, but you gotta remember I'm tiny from the Scotchy Bourbon boys, that's just it.
- 42:11Speaker 2: There's probably some people that are gonna call you up Whiskey and ask you out because you look so much like me.
- 42:18Speaker 2: They can't actually have me.
- 42:22Speaker 2: They can't have me, so they might think they'd be able to get you.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Just for the record my phone's not on silent and it hasn't ranked once.
- 42:34Speaker 2: You're a liar.
- 42:36Speaker 3: I can walk out of the bathroom.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I can walk out of the bathroom.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I can walk out of the bathroom with my wife's makeup table with this getup on.
- 42:47Speaker 3: She took one look at me, not knowing what I was doing, and said what the fuck is that?
- 42:52Speaker 3: I don't think that was a positive.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Your wife chose you.
- 42:57Speaker 2: That shows you the taste that she has Whiskey.
- 43:00Speaker 2: I'm not saying nothing, but I'm definitely not Sheila's type.
- 43:05Speaker 2: There's no doubt about it.
- 43:07Speaker 2: So I understand that completely.
- 43:12Speaker 3: I'm literate.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Swing it into this.
- 43:16Speaker 2: It's Halloween.
- 43:17Speaker 2: You pretend to be literate, that's for sure, and do a nice job.
- 43:24Speaker 2: You do a nice job for all your customers.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Mass murder of words.
- 43:35Speaker 2: Are you referring to?
- 43:36Speaker 2: Are you referring to?
- 43:38Speaker 3: NAS.
- 43:38Speaker 3: What Even Fonte?
- 43:43Speaker 3: I opened up for a quick date one, five, five tiny whiskey.
- 43:52Speaker 2: What was that?
- 43:53Speaker 2: Oh my God, hi, kate's watching.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Kate, kate, we will be seeing you this weekend, so we look forward to that.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Kate, glad that you're watching.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Happy Halloween to Colin.
- 44:13Speaker 2: He says happy Halloween, thanks for watching.
- 44:15Speaker 2: And then so this what are you going to give this?
- 44:18Speaker 2: What are you going to give this?
- 44:19Speaker 2: A finished bourbon.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Shikwa pen what.
- 44:31Speaker 1: How can you give me like that?
- 44:32Speaker 3: How do you whiskey?
- 44:33Speaker 3: I've been on your side all night.
- 44:34Speaker 3: How could you talk to me like that?
- 44:36Speaker 3: What, what, what did we?
- 44:41Speaker 3: Just?
- 44:41Speaker 3: It would sound that the skull cap is going to make when it slides off my head Shikwa pen.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Shikwa pen, shikwa pen, shikwa pen.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Okay, everybody so seriously, I'm going to if I get and it's got a screw cap.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Finished 13 year old whiskey.
- 45:08Speaker 2: I drank that.
- 45:09Speaker 3: I'm going to have to give this one a 7.5.
- 45:16Speaker 2: You don't like it as much as the 13?
- 45:19Speaker 2: Yeah, if I gave the bakers an 82 or an 8.2 out of 10, I would give.
- 45:30Speaker 3: I give this a 7.5.
- 45:33Speaker 2: I give this a 80 point.
- 45:35Speaker 2: I give it an 80.
- 45:37Speaker 2: So it's sweet, but what this does is a lot different.
- 45:44Speaker 2: That type of oak has this tangy aspect where the oak that the 13 had is like the actual wood of the barrel, and this has that tangy.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Now, a lot of times when you're dealing with the higher proofs like this is what is the proof of 114.8, correct?
- 46:10Speaker 3: I do believe you're correct, right.
- 46:13Speaker 2: So, or was that the Russells?
- 46:16Speaker 2: Let me see what this one is.
- 46:19Speaker 2: I might need my glasses right here.
- 46:25Speaker 2: I've got, okay, so, 110.
- 46:29Speaker 2: So, okay, so let's move on to the Russells 13.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Looks like I've got one more pour of Russells 13.
- 46:42Speaker 2: And this was one of my all time favorite bottles.
- 46:48Speaker 2: This Russells 13.
- 46:51Speaker 2: And there's this is courtesy of Supernash.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Thank you, supernash, for all that this is.
- 46:57Speaker 2: And then thank you for the new bottle that's coming, absolutely.
- 47:04Speaker 3: And that was the batch 5.
- 47:06Speaker 2: And this was batch 1.
- 47:07Speaker 2: And this batch 1 was spectacular.
- 47:10Speaker 2: I think it's got to go up on the mantle.
- 47:12Speaker 2: I'll have to figure out what's coming down, but this is a really nice pour Russells 13.
- 47:20Speaker 3: This is batch 2.
- 47:22Speaker 2: And I'm pouring and when Russells came out, the and batch 2 was delicious too.
- 47:30Speaker 2: I think I like batch 1 for its complexity, but but that batch 2 is so carmely, it's one of my favorite too.
- 47:41Speaker 2: Last year when I got a chance to drink that at Chervasse when it came in, I was floored.
- 47:48Speaker 2: I love that batch.
- 47:50Speaker 3: We would like to give a quick shout out to Russells Reserve, who is a great big.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Thank you to our friend, personal friend, greg Snyder, way back in the day, who kind of had a great big hand in starting all of that.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 48:12Speaker 3: It has a tribute to Jim and Russell.
- 48:15Speaker 2: There's no doubt.
- 48:17Speaker 3: Thank you, Greg, we appreciate you.
- 48:19Speaker 3: Love you man.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Yeah, cheers to Greg coming up with that.
- 48:23Speaker 2: That was 10-year-age stock that he was doing.
- 48:26Speaker 2: This 13-year that Jimmy and Eddie came up with is fantastic.
- 48:33Speaker 2: It would be so awesome to do a barrel pick with the Russells 13.
- 48:38Speaker 2: That's probably what I would love to do.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Ct has met Jimmy many times and also Ann Demick from OHLQ has been a part of that many times with Eddie.
- 48:52Speaker 2: She worked with Eddie when she worked at Campari.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Overall, it's just a really excellent bourbon.
- 49:01Speaker 2: I think this is right up there with the other bourbons of what I think I want bourbon to taste like.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Not what I imagined.
- 49:10Speaker 2: What bourbon tasted like.
- 49:11Speaker 2: It's what I wanted to taste like.
- 49:13Speaker 2: It picks up some of the wood at 13, but it also picks up a huge amount of caramel.
- 49:19Speaker 2: The spice is perfectly, usually put exactly where I like it to be the nose.
- 49:27Speaker 2: There's so much caramel on this at 114.8.
- 49:30Speaker 2: This is the most proof.
- 49:33Speaker 2: But I get caramel and like a peanut brittle, it's just like the nose is just spectacular.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Alright, let's put this to the sipping test.
- 49:53Speaker 3: I can just sit here and just sniff this bourbon while they without probably not drinking it, but you know, that's a lot.
- 50:07Speaker 2: In the glass.
- 50:07Speaker 2: It does these long legs.
- 50:10Speaker 2: This is some good, good stuff.
- 50:16Speaker 2: This is what you're in it for.
- 50:18Speaker 3: It takes forever to break.
- 50:19Speaker 3: It's so thick.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Once they do, each individual leg just breaks long legs.
- 50:30Speaker 2: Well, that's one bottle.
- 50:32Speaker 2: That's a bottle kill folks.
- 50:33Speaker 2: One of very few bottle kills that happen here on the Scotchy Bourbon Boys.
- 50:38Speaker 2: But it's a bottle kill.
- 50:40Speaker 2: There you go.
- 50:42Speaker 2: I am going to enjoy this last pour, but I know that next one's coming.
- 50:49Speaker 2: I can't wait, so let's just take this moment to talk about it's live, but we are in Canton Ohio.
- 50:59Speaker 3: First we should hang our heads, because this is Halloween and as this is a whole night, we just bottle killed the Russell's Reserve back number one.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Some taps there for Russell's 13 bottle kill.
- 51:33Speaker 2: But what I would like to say is you got me completely off.
- 51:42Speaker 2: So December Supernash is coming up, thursday December or 10th and he will be here.
- 51:56Speaker 2: But Friday December 15th is the Scotchy Bourbon Boys Christmas Party.
- 52:00Speaker 2: So if you are part of the Scotchy Bourbon Boys in any way, you are invited.
- 52:04Speaker 2: It's at the Jervasi Vineyards, the Still House at Jervasi.
- 52:11Speaker 2: We have a whole thing planned.
- 52:14Speaker 2: We've got a bunch of people coming and Supernash is coming up.
- 52:17Speaker 2: All of us Scotchy Bourbon Boys are going to be there, and our spouses, and there's going to be a bunch of people there and this Christmas party is going to be one of the bests.
- 52:28Speaker 2: Bring your cigars, because they got a really nice cigar patio.
- 52:36Speaker 3: Also, as always, supernash Bourbon, aka at Christmas time, bourbon Falls will be giving away some bourbon bottles I like to share and like to give away some bourbons to some of our happy fans and sponsors and people that just enjoy watching us and participating in our live shows and all that.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it starts at 7 o'clock at Jervasi on Friday, december 15th.
- 53:16Speaker 2: But if you are wanting to come, you're going to want to show up at 6pm at my house, because that's where we will be sharing special pours and the Scotchy Bourbon Boys will all be there.
- 53:31Speaker 2: We're going to be starting it at my house Supernash, hopefully, whiskey and then also CT are going to be up here and we'll have already laid down the Holiday Podcast and we're going to lay down the Booker's Holiday Podcast and then we're going to lay where we taste all the Bookers and pick out the 2023 best Booker.
- 53:57Speaker 2: So hopefully that will be released by December 15th.
- 54:01Speaker 2: And then also, what we're going to do is we're also going to do the Scotchy Bourbon Boys Bourbon of the Year.
- 54:08Speaker 2: That's one thing.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Whiskey you got to do is come up with your Bourbon of the Year that you want, you got to submit to, that you feel are ready, that you want to, that you think is the Bourbon of the Year.
- 54:21Speaker 2: You bring it and when we taste it, we're going to taste all eight CTs doing his two Supernash myself.
- 54:30Speaker 2: So we'll have eight to taste from and we'll pick a Bourbon of the Year.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Hopefully we can do that blind.
- 54:36Speaker 2: I'm thinking this year we do the Bourbon of the Year blind.
- 54:38Speaker 2: We all bring two of our favorites and we then taste it blind and pick, go through each one, pick what we like, do the scores and come up with the Bourbon of the Year.
- 54:51Speaker 2: So that's what's going to be happening and then that leads into the six o'clock witching hour where everybody's going to come.
- 54:59Speaker 2: We're going to taste some really good Bourbon and head on over to Gervasi.
- 55:04Speaker 2: Last year was off the charts, I think.
- 55:06Speaker 2: They had a bottle of Colonel Taylor single barrel and our group killed it.
- 55:12Speaker 2: It was opened and killed.
- 55:15Speaker 2: And Mike Lefferton, our guy over at Gervasi, he'll have us covered again this year.
- 55:27Speaker 3: He opened up the bottle he said, yep, got a special bottle Practice still and our group just absolutely killed it and also broke out a few killer cigars for us, and all that we enjoy it out on the cigar lounge.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Yep, when it started blizzarding snow.
- 55:52Speaker 2: That was a really it's heated, so everybody don't worry.
- 55:56Speaker 3: There's plenty of heaters out there and space heaters and all that.
- 56:02Speaker 2: So Leland Wright says hello guys, and he's down in Columbus.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Leland, we need you to come up to the Scotchie Bourbon Boys Christmas party on Friday, december 15th.
- 56:15Speaker 2: You're invited and it would be great if you came up, brought some friends and we'd love to hang out and party with you, because that's what that's for.
- 56:23Speaker 2: So here's brother.
- 56:26Speaker 2: So, honey, do you have another scary bourbon that you're going to be drinking tonight?
- 56:35Speaker 2: Yep, what is it?
- 56:40Speaker 3: I picked Stephen Fontay's bottle of Yellowstone the single-browl because it's scary good.
- 56:48Speaker 2: That's excellent.
- 56:49Speaker 2: Is that in your glass right now?
- 56:52Speaker 3: It actually is right here.
- 56:55Speaker 2: So that particular one you purchased correct.
- 57:00Speaker 3: Yep, I got it straight from Stephen at Bourbon on the back.
- 57:03Speaker 2: And then he took the bottle from us so nobody got to take that one home.
- 57:07Speaker 2: So I should have.
- 57:08Speaker 2: There's a lot of things that was at Bourbon and the banks and one of them wasn't savvy, I think.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Once I got the Carter Bardstown Bourbon Company, I was satisfied.
- 57:22Speaker 2: It was just like I wasn't looking for anything else.
- 57:24Speaker 2: I mean I missed out on a crap ton of stuff hanging out with Freddie there at the end I was selling one of our barrel picks.
- 57:33Speaker 2: It was one of the most unique experiences I've had in a long time.
- 57:40Speaker 2: I'll get into that another time.
- 57:42Speaker 2: Also just as far as what we were trying to do on Bourbon on the banks.
- 57:48Speaker 2: But I will have to commend you, supernash, on both Bourbon on the banks and Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 57:56Speaker 2: Your interviews were awesome.
- 57:58Speaker 2: The only thing that was bad about Bourbon on the banks is at one point your camera switched to slow motion and I think he did six interviews that it did it in slow motion.
- 58:15Speaker 2: So when I download it, the one you know the girl that does did the smoker.
- 58:20Speaker 2: She had the little smoker and did the smoker demo.
- 58:23Speaker 2: It starts off with her talking about it and then it goes.
- 58:26Speaker 2: I got to find out if in my editing I can speed it up and eliminate the slow motion, but you had five or six of them that just oh.
- 58:39Speaker 2: The one that I'm going to try and work the most is Christy Atkinson's.
- 58:43Speaker 2: The hers went slow motion too and I wanted that one.
- 58:48Speaker 2: I'm going to try and see if I can save that one.
- 58:50Speaker 2: If I can, I could save the rest, but it's going to take a little bit of time for me to pick, figure that out.
- 58:55Speaker 2: But the stuff that you shot at Kentucky Bourbon Festival and all the pictures we shot and everything that is going to be those, the Kentucky Bourbon Festival and you did have enough for bourbon on the banks and I shot some and Chris shot some.
- 59:09Speaker 2: We should have some awesome videos of that coming up.
- 59:14Speaker 2: So that's going to be pretty good.
- 59:17Speaker 3: So I didn't even been able to set down and even you know I picked a little bit and try to put up a little bit.
- 59:27Speaker 3: But yeah, I can't wait to where I can hit a little bit of slow time coming up through the holidays here you know and you know work wise and all, and it should be hopefully coming up later this month in November and through December and just the first part of January I'm going to get some videos and reels from both of the festivals, hot and heavy.
- 59:55Speaker 3: So some stuff out there.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: So this Russell's highest proof of them all We've got bakers at, I had it at 82.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Then I had the Heaven Hill private select at 80.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: So what are we giving this Russell's?
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: You had it at 75 and 80, as far as the those two bakers at 80.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: So what?
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: How does this Russell's 13 compared to that Bakers 13.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: ?
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: This is just low on the water.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: To me, I mean there's just tons of notes on the nose One of the best, like I say, noses that I get off of urban Tons of flavor and the more you taste it it's just in the glass the more you can pick up off with peanut bro, cherry, like let's start it.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: What?
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: When we think we think tiny, just say Born from another mother.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: I think what do you mean?
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: Why do you got to put that up?
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: I've already told you how I how impressed I was by the costume.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: You upped your game for this one.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: You were definitely a huge part of the podcast and I really appreciate what you did with you on this one because, yeah, it's, it's.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: I can't deny that.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: You didn't just nail the hell, you didn't hit that out of the ballpark.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: If you know, you won the World Series on that.
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: Do I hit the nail on the ball?
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: No, the bald head.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Bald head still has some issues because of the fact that your orange skin with the white, you know that.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: But still, I mean you hit the nail on the coffin, on the goatee.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: When I saw you pop up with in my background that first time.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: I mean seriously, I was seriously impressed.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: I mean it's, it's tough to do.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: I mean I, you, put time and effort into it.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: He's using a little bit of moisturizing cream tonight on top of his head.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: That's what you're wondering.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Yeah, people watching this have no clue.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: It's, it's, it's SPF 50.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's like, yeah, that's when I.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: Those are the days when I shave my head in the face.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: He's a little red in the face, probably from embarrassment but, you know I pulled all the compliments.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: I pulled.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: I yeah, I know he's he's probably been asked out on like 1015 dates by now, but I pulled.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Let's see what some of the comments are.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: Since you asked, after I put up this, for a quick date One, five, five, five tiny whiskey.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: What's that?
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Be here, all right.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: No, no comments.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: No comment, but anyways, so this Russell's 13.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: Here's one in the channel.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: Oh my god, you're ugly.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: Why do you look?
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: that way, not one in the channel.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: I'm watching the channel, it's that one.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: That's so.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: In other words, that's the part of a literacy that you got going, because that's not what it says on my channel.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: This is.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: This is.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: I think Chris Thompson said that.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: I deleted it because you know I don't want any kind of negativity on this.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: The last thing Chris shot.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Chris Thompson said if you don't have a 13 here, you could just do 13 shots, and he was gone after the 13 shots why?
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: you know why you were rambling on about the rest of the yeah, I'm not worried about it.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Because I didn't want any negativity going on on our part.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Just so you know, before the all the comments get posted to this, I'm, this is my channel, I get them and I have to approve them.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: So if I don't approve them, that's just being nice to you guys, because I mean, nash, there are so many people sometimes they're like, they're like what's up with that guy.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: I delete those all the time.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: I delete them because I'm your brother and I.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: It's like you are, you me and you are brothers and I never let a comment that was bad come across.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: You don't want me to see the comments about you, like that.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: You never see my comments.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: Nobody sees the comments I was talking about the comments about you.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: Yeah, the comments about me I can't let go because my wife would be mad at me.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: They're like hey, meet me, Meet me tomorrow night.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: There's just like I give like 20 of them every one and I got to delete them.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Those are often the guys named Mark and Tom.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: No, they're not guys, they're girls.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: I can even show you the pictures.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: I'll put up the like.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: You put up the pictures.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: I can show you all the pictures.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Most of them are at, you know they come from.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Most of them are models.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's just like you know.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: Yeah, they're all those model girls, you know it wasn't.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: Everyone else calls this prostitute.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: No, it's just like you.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Were you at Kentucky Bourbon Festival?
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: I mean, we had girls.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: The girls come into our place and everything I mean don't bring me into this.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: My wife watches every bit of this and I was not with you.
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: We never did anything.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: I always edit them out and keep you.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: I keep you.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: Okay, I just I'm just going to tell Sherry, just to get that video from CT.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: Oh, here we go, halloween special.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: Cheers.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: Oh, I have to do it first.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: 87.
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: then we're going to get tiny whisties 85.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: 85.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: So I'm switching the whiskey Do you give.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: This one is a nine.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: It finishes like sugar water.
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: Just a little bit of a hug, but not too much.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Okay, you can dress up as Steven and do that.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: That would be great.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: But no, he's not a distiller.
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: Oh, he is the man for Yellowstone and Limestone branch.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: He's their brand ambassador and you wouldn't have to wear that stupid bald cap.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: You cut your finger off.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: It was obvious that was a.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: I told you.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: I told you I didn't want to be mean to you.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: I thought everything was perfect except for the condom on your head.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: What the hell when did we get that detail from there?
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: You go.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Alright, so I opened this year's 2023.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Oh, three, so you open yours.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Nash, have you opened up that, that new batch of bookers?
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: Because we're finishing that off tonight.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: Alright, because I know what I like it's hopefully last degree and only two more semesters, sure, so hey.
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: But hey, he has connections now at SpaceX, which is actually a personal friend and he's going to work for, and he's actually going to internship down in Charleston, south Carolina, to a space program in springtime.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: Alright, let's finish off this Halloween.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: He's been working hard and I just like say cheers to the cheers to him.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: So Mark close is watching Cheers, yes, cheers.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: So the next thing we're drinking is the newest batch of bookers.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: This batch is called the Mighty Fine Batch, 2023.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: Oh, three, it is 126.6 proof Seven years, one month, ten days.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Oh, and I've opened it and I'm letting that air out a little bit and I'm going to grab the ticket out of here to tell you where everything's from, because this is always fun.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: The batch story is this is the third batch of bookers.
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: Bourbon of 23 collection is Booker's batch 23, 2020.
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: Three Mighty Fine Batch.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: This batch is named in honor of the signature phrase my dad, booker know, used to compliment anything he approved of, from his namesake bourbon to his country ham.
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: If you know Booker, then you knew Mighty Fine was his phrase, his go to phrase.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: He would often get together with other folks in the bourbon industry to taste samples of Booker's bourbon and everyone know knew he was happy with his selection when he sipped it and said it was Mighty Fine, followed by that's a damn good batch.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: Shortly before dad passed away in 2004, I selected the barrels for Booker's bourbon batch for the very first time.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: I was a little nervous at first.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: I had big shoes to fill.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: After tasting the samples I shared with him, he looked at me and said Mighty Fine job, son.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: A lot of people thought it was one of the best batches, but receiving dad's vote of confidence made it that much more special for me.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: I'll never forget that moment.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: Booker was not one to embellish his compliments with many descriptive words, but I have a feeling he would say that this batch is Mighty Fine.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: I hope you think so too, fred know, being family 7th generation master distiller.
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: So 2% came from the 5th floor, 7th story warehouse Q, 3% came from the 6th floor of 7 storey warehouse Z, 8% came from the 5th floor of 9 story warehouse G, 10% came from the 8th floor of 7 story warehouse I, 10% came from the 5th floor of 9 story warehouse H, 12% came from the 5th floor of 9 story warehouse G and 55% came from the 5th floor of 7 Story warehouse three.
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: Fred, much like that warehouse three, because 55% of that's here and I'm going to pour myself for the first time the mighty fine batch and let's ah.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: So.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: So this is a.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: We did this because it was something that just was released.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: Thank you, whiskey, for picking this up at the distillery for me.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: I'm very happy whiskey, tiny.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Oh, so this is the most carmally nosed.
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's there's caramel.
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: Then it's that.
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: Peen that on the black paper in the kitchen.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: There's even chocolate.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: There's caramel, chocolate and peanut.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: Oh, this would be a batch to make bookers.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: This would be a bookers.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: Chocolate in there too.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: Yeah, if you use this to soak the peak pecans for the bourbon balls and use this batch for the bourbon balls, that would be frickin amazing, I think.
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: I think you'd be drunk off your ass on those, though using barrel strength, I've never used it, holy shit.
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: I'm watching a leg or down the side of my, my Glen Karen, from the the lip of the glass all the way straight down.
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: Seriously, that wins the longest leg I've ever seen on a bourbon.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: I've never seen one go the total length of the glass.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: This is milk dud this, I think.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: I think Fred's right on this being mighty fine.
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: I think this is one of the best bookers I think I've ever tasted.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: I love bookers, but I absolutely love this batch.
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: I totally agree.
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: That is the best drinking bookers.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: I think I've ever seen there's no heat.
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: There's a hug.
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: What Holy.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: There is all that long hug you get from the bookers.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: It's just fill in your mouth with sweetness, a little bit of spice.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: No, there's a hug, but the heat in your mouth.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: Oh hey, whiskey, I think you would absolutely go crazy for this batch.
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: This would be the.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: This would be a bookers I think you would love.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: This is your, your flavor profile.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: This is, this is like barrel strength, knob Creek 12.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: Yeah you're gonna have to be tasting this.
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: You pick up your stuff, up a bottle of this whiskey?
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: Oh no he did it for me, he sacrificed himself for me, and I appreciate that.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: You check for the bookers thing, so I do.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: I think this is I've always felt bookers very much up there.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: When it comes in it goes out again but I got it straight from the distillery, yeah yeah, but this has a reason is because I can.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: I can get another one of these, but it's like it was 124, 95.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: It went up.
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: That's cheaper than was it the distillery Really Well, it's 124, 95 years after one.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: It's one, it's 160.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: No you didn't charge me 160.
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: It was 115.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: It was 115, 99 and then with tax.
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: Was it.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you didn't go up that high, it was still one little book, yeah, little book Did you do the little book.
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: These were usually like they started out years back.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: They were like 79, 99, 80.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: Yeah, when I first bought it they went up to the one up.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: The kitchen $100 now.
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: Now, like I said, my guys started me 124, 95.
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: You're super natural.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: Awesome, because I have a kitchen table here, a bottle of kitchen table.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: That's my favorite batch At the time.
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: It's the first batch I've ever bought and I wanted that bottle.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: I learned about it in 2019 early.
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: I missed it, so I was like looking for it.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: I didn't understand how bookers work, you know.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: I kept looking and looking and I finally found it in Wisconsin.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: I believe I paid 84 99, but it didn't come with the box, it was just on the shelf and I remember buying that and taking pictures and posting.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: I had just started the podcast.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: You know what I mean, and it was the first bottle of expensive bourbon that I ever bought, not knowing.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: I mean, I think they've been holding the prices best they could, but with the price increase, the taste increase is really right there.
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: I mean, this batch nails the living shit out of bookers.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: Oh, my God, yeah.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: So what do you give in this batch?
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: What do you give this one?
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: This one on 92.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: I'm thinking 93.

- 1:21:52Speaker 2: You're staying the after party for the Scotchie bourbon boys.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: You know, christmas party is either going to happen at the Hyatt where you're staying, super Nash, or at your Vossi, if someone books a Jervassi suite.
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: The reason that I couldn't do that was because I looked and actually told me is because I already prepaid for my room there at the Hyatt and I'm like now I'm refundable.
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: You already know how, how Canton is just bad ass.

- 1:22:51Speaker 3: I'm saying if he's coming up to stay and get a book around in Canton or our Christmas party in December 14th through the 16th, do not look it at the Staybridge in Canton, ohio, because they would not give you a month back, they would not honor anything, as they did.
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: They canceled mine during COVID in over $700.
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: They would not refund me, no matter what.
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: But they canceled you.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: They canceled you.
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: You still came and got another hotel, but they canceled your reservations.
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: But, yeah, they canceled me in, like I said, because of COVID restrictions in, like I said, would not give me my money back, no matter what and all that, no matter what avenues that I was through and who did I jump through and people that I talked to.
