SPEAKER_01: Hi, and welcome to this episode of Assassin's Sips.
0:12
SPEAKER_01: Today we're talking about Good Girls, Season 4, Episode 10.
0:16
SPEAKER_01: Strong Hearts, Strong Sails.
0:19
SPEAKER_01: I'm Lisa, and I am sipping on Sangria.
0:26
SPEAKER_00: So surprising.
0:27
SPEAKER_01: I know.
0:28
SPEAKER_01: Well.
0:28
SPEAKER_00: It's been a while since you've had the Sangria, though.
0:31
SPEAKER_01: Well, the weather gets nice.
0:33
SPEAKER_01: It's it's my treat.
0:35
SPEAKER_01: So.
0:36
SPEAKER_00: And then you need a weekly treat, obviously.
0:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
0:41
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
0:41
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think it's the least you deserve.
0:43
SPEAKER_01: I think so.
0:46
SPEAKER_00: A couple of jugs.
0:48
SPEAKER_01: A couple of jugs.
0:49
SPEAKER_01: I know, but I'm the one who has to make it.
0:51
SPEAKER_01: So, like, hmm.
0:54
SPEAKER_01: I want to drink it.
0:55
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't want to make it.
0:57
SPEAKER_00: Just make spend one day making like 600 jugs.
1:00
SPEAKER_00: I'm over-exaggerating, 500.
1:03
SPEAKER_00: And that'll be that way you have your stockpile already made throughout the summer.
1:08
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
1:09
SPEAKER_00: I mean, you're gonna run, you're gonna run out of 500 jugs of sangria before the summer's over, because you know, I know you right.
1:15
SPEAKER_01: But yeah, well, we've you know, we've been trying to do all these like improvements to the yard because you know, due to that whole pool fiasco, it's like sparked some other stuff.
1:27
SPEAKER_01: So, like yes, I'm gonna need about a third job to like start paying for some of these improvements, but you know, it is what it is, right?
1:36
SPEAKER_01: It's not the American way if we're not in debt.
1:38
SPEAKER_01: So, even more of a reason you need sangria.
1:41
SPEAKER_01: I I'm trying to be a good American citizen and be in debt, you know, to keep up with the Joneses or whoever the fuck lives on this block.
1:48
SPEAKER_01: But anyway, I'm really not, but no, and so like I feel like I have but even less time to sip the sangria.
1:57
SPEAKER_01: So, first world problems send tacos anyway, it'll be all worth it once it's finally, but because of brokenness, we have to do a lot of the work ourselves and unless friends, and I am more than happy to pay people in pizza, it's just a lot of work, but yeah, I'll I'll even throw in sangria if it'll help.
2:30
SPEAKER_00: Well, so based on that, you will have plenty of time to enjoy it next summer, right?
2:36
SPEAKER_01: Right, and well, but except when we when we left out a last summer, it was like, okay, cool.
2:43
SPEAKER_01: These are the two areas that we want to focus on next summer, right?
2:47
SPEAKER_01: Like for improvements, for upkeep maintenance, you know, all of that.
2:54
SPEAKER_01: And then the pool was like, hold my beer.
2:57
SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
3:01
SPEAKER_01: And then with the whole electrician thing, you gotta take the help when it's offered to you, so that took a little bit of precedence.
3:09
SPEAKER_01: And so the two areas that we wanted to focus on have barely been touched.
3:16
SPEAKER_01: So, you know, that sounds about life, yeah.
3:20
SPEAKER_01: Like that's on track.
3:22
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I this is Lisa.
3:25
SPEAKER_01: I'm Lisa, this has been my life up to now.
3:29
SPEAKER_00: Sorry for my problem.
3:31
SPEAKER_00: Welcome, Lisa.
3:33
SPEAKER_00: Thank you, thank you, and I'm Agnes, and I'm drinking on this plano coffee.
3:39
SPEAKER_00: I'm kind of hurting this morning, and it's I yeah.
3:44
SPEAKER_00: I think I was, you know, I forgot that I'm almost 50.
3:48
SPEAKER_00: Damn.
3:49
SPEAKER_00: Say saying that out loud hits.
3:52
SPEAKER_00: It was a good night though.
3:53
SPEAKER_00: It was a beautiful wedding.
3:55
SPEAKER_00: Dancing was had, it was a good day, but now I'm paying for it.
3:59
SPEAKER_00: Yep.
4:00
SPEAKER_00: Actually, what time I got home though?
4:04
SPEAKER_00: 9:30.
4:05
SPEAKER_00: So I don't understand.
4:08
SPEAKER_01: I went to bed later than that, and I was just watching TV in my bed.
4:12
SPEAKER_00: I was like, what am I doing with my life?
4:15
SPEAKER_00: And I even text my daughter, I'm like, hey, what are you doing?
4:17
SPEAKER_00: I just got home and I don't want to be, I don't want to get ready for bed yet.
4:22
SPEAKER_00: What are you doing?
4:22
SPEAKER_00: She's like, I'm already home.
4:24
SPEAKER_00: And once I'm home, I'm not leaving up the house.
4:26
SPEAKER_02: I'm like sane.
4:28
SPEAKER_00: Because by the time she texts me back, I legit text her, got undressed, and took a shower.
4:33
SPEAKER_00: I didn't give her a chance to respond.
4:35
SPEAKER_00: So I don't, I think my body knew, like, bitch, you're not going anywhere.
4:40
SPEAKER_00: But my brain knew.
4:42
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
4:43
SPEAKER_00: Any hot takes on this episode?
4:45
SPEAKER_01: You know what's funny is that I had a hot take on the last uh Married at First Sight episode, and I forgot to tell it to you.
4:53
SPEAKER_01: It was about Michael, so now you'll have to wait.
4:56
SPEAKER_00: It's about his waiting.
4:58
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was about his it was about his outfit.
5:01
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm gonna forget.
5:02
SPEAKER_00: So there's no, it's okay.
5:04
SPEAKER_01: I wrote it in my notes.
5:06
SPEAKER_01: Well, okay, so I noticed a little bit of a key theme going on in this episode.
5:13
SPEAKER_01: And I love the fact that they were watching Love is Blind and talking about Amber and Barnett and Jessica.
5:23
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
5:24
SPEAKER_01: I was like, yes, that's amazing.
5:28
SPEAKER_00: I love how our shows always intertwine one another.
5:31
SPEAKER_01: Like no matter what we're recording, it's intersectionality amongst television shows.
5:37
SPEAKER_00: We should do a study on that.
5:39
SPEAKER_00: No, Lisa.
5:40
SPEAKER_01: No, because the look of her face was like studies on intersectionality in school, but interesting.
5:47
SPEAKER_00: I feel like no, we're not doing that.
5:50
SPEAKER_01: Well, I kind of feel like that's kind of what breakdown is.
5:55
SPEAKER_01: Ah, yes.
5:58
SPEAKER_00: Lisa's going for home reputation on one episode.
6:01
SPEAKER_00: Like, I can't.
6:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
6:03
SPEAKER_01: So what?
6:04
SPEAKER_01: You just sit there and listen?
6:05
SPEAKER_01: You can.
6:07
SPEAKER_00: Hot takes was like the intersection.
6:10
SPEAKER_00: I can't even speak anymore.
6:12
SPEAKER_00: So we're not doing a thesis.
6:13
SPEAKER_00: We're not doing a explanation.
6:15
SPEAKER_00: I didn't say we, okay.
6:16
SPEAKER_00: Lisa's going to do a thesis, and I was sitting here playing with my cat.
6:20
SPEAKER_00: That's not dirty.
6:21
SPEAKER_00: Holy shit.
6:22
SPEAKER_00: Um, any other hot takes?
6:27
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be playing with my cat.
6:31
SPEAKER_01: No, you may proceed with the episode.
6:33
SPEAKER_01: I feel like I have just, you know, my my balloon has been popped.
6:41
SPEAKER_01: You just you just ruined my life right now.
6:44
SPEAKER_01: You never let me do anything fun.
6:46
SPEAKER_00: Okay, what about this?
6:48
SPEAKER_00: You start off with the beginning of your dissertation.
6:50
SPEAKER_00: Go ahead, you can start defending it.
6:52
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna take a shower.
6:56
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna do a dissertation right now.
6:58
SPEAKER_01: I need obviously I need time to work on it.
7:00
SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay, in that case.
7:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, really.
7:03
SPEAKER_01: My god, you think I can just pull dissertations out of my ass?
7:07
SPEAKER_01: I'm not Annie.
7:08
SPEAKER_01: There's nothing in my ass.
7:13
SPEAKER_00: Yet.
7:14
SPEAKER_00: And nothing in hers either, because she was not doing that.
7:17
SPEAKER_00: Yet.
7:21
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
7:22
SPEAKER_00: My head won't stop pounding.
7:25
SPEAKER_00: So this episode.
7:26
SPEAKER_01: You're too old to be this old.
7:28
SPEAKER_00: Huh?
7:28
SPEAKER_00: You are too old to be this old.
7:31
SPEAKER_00: Seriously.
7:32
SPEAKER_00: This episode opens with Dean making pancakes, and it looked like fun fetty pancakes to me.
7:38
SPEAKER_01: It looked like he was having a good old time, like a real good time.
7:42
SPEAKER_01: You know, he was he was just making breakfast, and but then he was like, didn't she wake up and he's like, shh, go back to sleep?
7:50
SPEAKER_01: But she's already awake.
7:52
SPEAKER_01: Like you talk to me.
7:54
SPEAKER_01: She's not going back to sleep.
7:56
SPEAKER_01: And then and then you're like, no sleep in.
7:58
SPEAKER_01: And while I give you all the props because that was like really cute, you made food uh for the kids, but then you're waking them up by like shooting them, and so now they're screaming.
8:10
SPEAKER_01: What mother is gonna sleep through that?
8:39
SPEAKER_00: Well, like one kid, he came in with this, the with the Freddy, with the with the Jason mask.
8:46
SPEAKER_01: So But I'm saying he's getting those kids riled up first thing in the morning, and kids scream, kids are loud.
8:54
SPEAKER_01: So if you're telling her, hey, no, no, sleep in, but then you're you're like the Tasmanian devil going through the house with those kids, all she's gonna hear is screams and squeals and you know, of feet running around.
9:13
SPEAKER_01: I'm just telling you, that's what happens.
9:15
SPEAKER_01: You know, maybe maybe it didn't happen for me because my house was, you know, a third of the size of her house.
9:24
SPEAKER_01: So like maybe we just heard everything more because we were closer together, but I don't think so.
9:29
SPEAKER_01: I think any mother is gonna wake up.
9:32
SPEAKER_00: But the house is also empty, so the sounds will carry more.
9:36
SPEAKER_01: That's true.
9:37
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, this is Rio ever gonna give her shit back?
9:41
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I thought she would have learned her lesson by now.
9:45
SPEAKER_00: I think I figured anyway, random thought.
9:47
SPEAKER_00: I thought about that in this episode.
9:49
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I think everyone gets their shit back.
9:50
SPEAKER_01: You know what I thought about in this episode?
9:53
SPEAKER_01: That hot tub just sits in their house.
9:56
SPEAKER_01: Don't they not worried about the kids like drowning in it?
10:02
SPEAKER_01: I'm just saying, like, I They're not toddlers.
10:06
SPEAKER_01: They're those little ones are still kind of little, and any kid can drown.
10:11
SPEAKER_01: I just my my youngest is 12 and can swim, and she's still not allowed in a four-foot deep pool by herself.
10:22
SPEAKER_01: Like, because I was I was thinking about that in the middle of the night when they all left the house, and I'm like, but that hot tub is there.
10:32
SPEAKER_01: They can't they cannot just be filling it and draining it.
10:37
SPEAKER_01: Also, wouldn't the water damage the floors?
10:41
SPEAKER_01: Because isn't that like all she has?
10:43
SPEAKER_01: Watch the hardwood floors, that's all she has left, and now you've got a hot tub on it, and water and humidity are definitely okay.
10:52
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna shut up now.
10:54
SPEAKER_00: The water damage part that actually crossed my mind every time I see them getting in and out of the hot tub.
11:01
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they don't dry off.
11:03
SPEAKER_01: Dean just like puts on a robe and keeps walking, and I'm like, I pretty sure I could see your footprints if you pan down.
11:10
SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I think I'm thinking too much about their floor.
11:15
SPEAKER_01: Water damage all over the hardwood floor, drowning children.
11:20
SPEAKER_01: Oh, somebody take responsibility away from me.
11:26
SPEAKER_01: You mean that?
11:29
SPEAKER_00: I can't shut it off.
11:31
SPEAKER_00: She was like, it's too hard.
11:32
SPEAKER_00: My brain won't shut off.
11:37
SPEAKER_00: Anywho.
11:38
SPEAKER_00: So after this first scene of Dean being just being shown in disma domestic bliss, say that three times fast.
11:49
SPEAKER_00: Beth is meeting Rio at the print shop to go over the ladies' printing, the queen's money.
11:58
SPEAKER_00: And Dean shows up unexpectedly, and Beth looks over at Dean like she got caught in midcoitus.
12:09
SPEAKER_00: Um, pretty much.
12:12
SPEAKER_00: She goes, Isn't it's just business, it's just work, and what are you doing here?
12:16
SPEAKER_00: He's like, Yeah, we have to like switch cards, you know, get it packing another, I guess for the the the game, the traveling game.
12:28
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was funny when he walked in though, because they're like, You're not supposed to be here, and he's like, Neither are you.
12:32
SPEAKER_01: Neither are you, the boys.
12:34
SPEAKER_00: Like, right, they're just like all buddies now, like, like not buddies, but they're like, Yeah, deems accepting, like, this is it, this is my life.
12:42
SPEAKER_01: It just imagine it that this was not a television show, and this is just like literally somebody who has fucked your wife, has put a gun in her hand, told her to shoot you, and then he shot you, and then she shot him, and you're all in just like this weird counterfeit illegal love triangle.
13:08
SPEAKER_01: And it's just kind of like okay, this is where we're at.
13:12
SPEAKER_01: So okay, all right, yeah, craziness bananas, goose shit, goose shit, not natural goose shit, it's everywhere and useless, yeah, and useless.
13:34
SPEAKER_00: And it comes out the most cranky, stubborn, argumentative animal ever.
13:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they're not even nice.
13:43
SPEAKER_00: No, and yes, I've had actual arguments with them.
13:49
SPEAKER_00: I have.
13:50
SPEAKER_00: What?
13:51
SPEAKER_00: Well, at least I'm not fuzzy.
13:54
SPEAKER_00: Well, you're ugly.
13:56
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, we have to.
13:57
SPEAKER_00: Okay, I've never argued with geese.
13:59
SPEAKER_00: I did because I was walking and like in a complex, and he was like in my way, and I was walking, he saw us like yelling at me.
14:05
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, the fuck is wrong with you?
14:07
SPEAKER_00: I was like, at least my hair's not frizzy.
14:10
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we did, yeah, we did the whole thing.
14:15
SPEAKER_00: Somebody sends help.
14:17
SPEAKER_00: Send lots of help in forms of alcohol.
14:20
SPEAKER_00: Um, after this little scene, Ruby is with Stan.
14:28
SPEAKER_00: I still love them as a couple, and he's coming in with the bags.
14:33
SPEAKER_00: He goes, What do you think about baby blue?
14:35
SPEAKER_00: She's like, eh, what do you think about ostrich?
14:38
SPEAKER_00: She's like, better.
14:39
SPEAKER_00: He goes, What about them both together?
14:41
SPEAKER_00: I don't like baby blue, but I love the ostrich.
14:45
SPEAKER_00: I'm down with that.
14:46
SPEAKER_00: Maybe like a camel or a cognac color ostrich.
14:51
SPEAKER_00: I mean, anyway.
14:55
SPEAKER_00: Ruby is pretty much begging Stan for them to be the for him to be the bigger person and just take the high road.
15:03
SPEAKER_00: Because he wants she wants her husband, her best friend to be friends, you know, to be on better terms.
15:08
SPEAKER_00: He goes, Did you ever tell Beck that?
15:10
SPEAKER_00: And we all know she has not.
15:13
SPEAKER_00: I'm so okay.
15:14
SPEAKER_00: My hot thought for the day was this episode.
15:18
SPEAKER_00: I realized how much I really don't like Beth, and she really pissed me off.
15:26
SPEAKER_00: Like, you had that moment when you're watching Sex in the City and you're like, oh my god, Carrie's a horrible friend.
15:34
SPEAKER_00: She's she's not a good friend.
15:35
SPEAKER_00: I think you're by the by the middle of the first season, you're like, she's not a good friend.
15:39
SPEAKER_00: She really is not.
15:40
SPEAKER_00: She's a horrible person.
15:42
SPEAKER_00: I've had this moment, I'm like, I don't think I ever, I don't think I thought this when it was initially airing, because I guess it was just so like a week in between, and then sometimes if I'm not watching it, I'll just binge it on the DVR.
15:56
SPEAKER_00: So I really did really get.
15:59
SPEAKER_00: But she's not a I don't like her.
16:01
SPEAKER_00: I don't like Beth.
16:02
SPEAKER_00: But anyway, Annie meets with Kevin.
16:05
SPEAKER_00: I kind of call him like Chris Kevin, but it's Kevin, but I like calling Chris Kevin because it's fun to go with the house rules.
16:11
SPEAKER_00: The damn bucket.
16:13
SPEAKER_00: Anyway, he invites the whole tent city.
16:18
SPEAKER_01: I call him Tent City, without her knowledge, it's laundry club, laundry club, which you don't get because you're homed.
16:29
SPEAKER_01: Guess neither do I.
16:32
SPEAKER_01: But that's what he said.
16:33
SPEAKER_01: He's like, it's not, she's like, it's not a thing.
16:35
SPEAKER_01: He's like, yeah, to the homed.
16:38
SPEAKER_01: So we don't get to partake in laundry club.
16:41
SPEAKER_00: And would it be cool?
16:42
SPEAKER_01: No.
16:43
SPEAKER_00: I want does laundry club mean someone else does my laundry for me?
16:46
SPEAKER_00: No.
16:46
SPEAKER_00: I wish it did.
16:47
SPEAKER_00: I would join that club.
16:49
SPEAKER_00: So she tries to kick him out.
16:51
SPEAKER_00: He can't, he pretty much counters with a threat to um Ben Schooling.
16:55
SPEAKER_00: He was like, Oh, you know, I'll um I'll contact the school.
16:58
SPEAKER_00: She's like, wait, for what?
17:01
SPEAKER_00: Beth is making her little stationary orders, and she gets fired.
17:07
SPEAKER_00: And Megan is now the shift manager.
17:10
SPEAKER_00: She's like, she's 19, she's a senior in high school, I think.
17:15
SPEAKER_00: She's like, it's just the job.
17:17
SPEAKER_00: Like, it is what it is.
17:18
SPEAKER_00: She's like, you need to spend more time with your kids, all that other bullshit.
17:22
SPEAKER_00: The ladies have to find a new place to make the money.
17:25
SPEAKER_00: So Ruby suggests the strip club.
17:27
SPEAKER_00: It's still vacant.
17:29
SPEAKER_00: And she tells Beth to make nice with Stan.
17:32
SPEAKER_00: And he'll get the men.
17:33
SPEAKER_00: Beth and Stan are having they meet at the diner.
17:36
SPEAKER_00: I feel like that's like the unofficial office where they have business conversations for all day with.
17:43
SPEAKER_00: So they make a deal.
17:45
SPEAKER_00: Stan helps Beth.
17:46
SPEAKER_00: She has to leave Ruby alone forever.
17:49
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
17:50
SPEAKER_00: She has some fucking balls.
17:52
SPEAKER_00: Her apologized.
17:54
SPEAKER_00: He's like, I want you to apologize.
17:55
SPEAKER_00: And she goes, I am sorry that your family are in the state that they're in.
18:00
SPEAKER_01: That's the worst kind of apology.
18:03
SPEAKER_01: Like, that is the pettiest.
18:05
SPEAKER_00: But she fucking met that shit.
18:08
SPEAKER_00: No, yeah.
18:09
SPEAKER_00: And then she wants to act like that she's a savior.
18:11
SPEAKER_00: She's like, I am sorry that I made I got your wife in a situation that made her happy.
18:17
SPEAKER_00: Bitch, you got them in the situation to begin with.
18:22
SPEAKER_00: Okay, whether they need the money or not, let's put that aside.
18:24
SPEAKER_01: Right.
18:25
SPEAKER_01: They all came in to a need.
18:27
SPEAKER_00: Got them where they're at today.
18:30
SPEAKER_00: Because without that initial situation, right?
18:34
SPEAKER_00: I mean, yes, never mind their daughter in the surgery.
18:36
SPEAKER_00: I'm not talking about that.
18:37
SPEAKER_00: But she Dan would have been a cop.
18:40
SPEAKER_00: Like everything, like, oh my fucking God.
18:44
SPEAKER_00: The hubris.
18:47
SPEAKER_00: And maybe it's just me being a little sentiment, a little sensitive, but it's an extra smack in the face to see Becky saying that to a black woman.
18:57
SPEAKER_00: And I say Becky intentionally, and I mean like I know.
19:01
SPEAKER_00: You really get your ass beat.
19:03
SPEAKER_00: Like, and I digress.
19:06
SPEAKER_00: I'm leaving.
19:07
SPEAKER_00: I want to keep my my I'm yeah, done for the moment.
19:11
SPEAKER_00: Lisa, please take over before I beat the character Beth up.
19:18
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, done.
19:19
SPEAKER_00: Or should we just go on?
19:20
SPEAKER_00: Anything you have to say about it?
19:21
SPEAKER_00: Because I'm just pissed off at that whole scene.
19:26
SPEAKER_01: It was it was hard.
19:30
SPEAKER_01: Not just because of like whatever, right?
19:32
SPEAKER_01: But because you want you want them all to succeed.
19:36
SPEAKER_01: But like watching Stan try so hard to just not lash out almost.
19:44
SPEAKER_01: And he's just like he almost looked um like he gave up.
19:54
SPEAKER_01: I think that you know, had had they well, especially Stan, had he not loved Ruby as much as he did, he just he would have punched Beth in the face.
20:03
SPEAKER_01: Actually, he would never have punched Beth in the face.
20:06
SPEAKER_00: And I think that's another reason Beth felt so cocky and saying what she did because she knew there's gonna be no repercussions.
20:13
SPEAKER_01: Right.
20:14
SPEAKER_01: Right.
20:15
SPEAKER_01: Like he just sat there and took it, and it goes back to one of the other scenes where him and Ruby were arguing because she was like, remember they they sat in by the kitchen, and he and she's like, but look at what and he's like, but you don't always have to fight.
20:33
SPEAKER_01: And then this is just like an example of him just trying to ignore the shit that always you know falls down, trickles down, it's always shit that trickles down, it's never anything else.
20:50
SPEAKER_00: Goose shit trickles down.
20:52
SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
20:54
SPEAKER_01: I'm still waiting for these riches to trickle down.
20:58
SPEAKER_01: But you know, it's just it's just indicative of like the bigger picture, you know, not just them sitting at the table.
21:06
SPEAKER_01: It's like probably his whole life, her whole life, like the collective, whatever, everything.
21:13
SPEAKER_01: But yeah.
21:15
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm glad they came to an agreement, but even then it was like barely.
21:21
SPEAKER_00: To execute their plan, they steal the printing press.
21:26
SPEAKER_00: And I gotta tell you, the best characters in this episode were the movers, specifically the the the and he goes, Oh, we can't do this.
21:36
SPEAKER_00: She's like, but we need this mood.
21:38
SPEAKER_00: And she goes, Listen, we're stealing it.
21:41
SPEAKER_00: He was like, Yeah, we still can't do it.
21:44
SPEAKER_00: He goes, It's just too big, we can't get it out the door.
21:47
SPEAKER_00: She's like, Oh.
21:49
SPEAKER_00: He was like, Yeah, we don't care.
21:50
SPEAKER_00: We don't care, we just can't move it.
21:52
SPEAKER_00: He goes, But anything smaller you want us to move, we we got you.
21:57
SPEAKER_01: No, no, he was like, if there's anything smaller you want to steal, we got you.
22:01
SPEAKER_01: Like he was like, We're cool at all that, like the stealing.
22:05
SPEAKER_00: We just busy can't do it.
22:06
SPEAKER_01: And I was it just doesn't fit.
22:09
SPEAKER_00: So then so wait, Annie was like, Well, he was like, Well, how did they get this in here?
22:15
SPEAKER_00: And he goes, Well, maybe it was already here.
22:19
SPEAKER_00: Miss whatever her name was.
22:21
SPEAKER_00: Little old somebody came and saw this printing press in the field.
22:25
SPEAKER_00: German printing for us in the field.
22:28
SPEAKER_00: And and built the shop around it.
22:30
SPEAKER_00: Built the shop around it.
22:31
SPEAKER_01: Right.
22:32
SPEAKER_01: Right.
22:32
SPEAKER_01: Well, and then this is the second time that we get a Ruby and Annie moment because in earlier, what that's when they're watching Love is Blind and it's like them.
22:44
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she thought they were blind.
22:46
SPEAKER_01: And she's like, so for four episodes, you just because she's like, how do they something if they can't see each other?
22:53
SPEAKER_01: And she's like, so for four episodes, you thought they were blind?
22:58
SPEAKER_01: And she's like, well, yeah.
23:02
SPEAKER_01: Oh, like I I mean, I think that I would have so such better ab muscles if Annie was my friend.
23:14
SPEAKER_01: Because I would not stop.
23:15
SPEAKER_01: Like, especially if I knew Ruby and Annie together, I would just be laughing all the time.
23:21
SPEAKER_01: And on and probably also on my way to jail, but that's besides.
23:25
SPEAKER_00: I couldn't, I like I couldn't take Annie alone for a long period of time because I'm like, you're killing me, you're making my brain hurt.
23:35
SPEAKER_00: I love her as a comic relief.
23:37
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
23:38
SPEAKER_00: And then they said there would have to be buffers.
23:40
SPEAKER_01: Right.
23:41
SPEAKER_01: Right.
23:41
SPEAKER_00: Buffers.
23:42
SPEAKER_01: Ruby.
23:43
SPEAKER_01: Ruby is the buffer.
23:45
SPEAKER_01: To both of them, actually.
23:47
SPEAKER_01: Because even Beth is exhausting.
23:50
SPEAKER_00: Beth suggests that they ask Dean for help.
23:55
SPEAKER_00: He goes, he took up, you know, he took up all the washing machine or dishwasher last week or whatever it was.
24:00
SPEAKER_00: A machine that washes, whether it's clothes or dishes, is one of the machines that washes.
24:04
SPEAKER_01: It was a dishwasher because mine is broken, and I remember thinking, oh man, I wish he could fix it up.
24:10
SPEAKER_00: So there's that.
24:13
SPEAKER_00: So Dean comes, he takes it down.
24:15
SPEAKER_00: They're getting their little off, their little situation set up, and he's in the middle of putting it back together.
24:25
SPEAKER_00: And he looks over at Beth, and she's just in her element.
24:31
SPEAKER_00: He looks over at her and he talks to her in private.
24:34
SPEAKER_00: The little girls leave, and he realizes that he said, I thought he was the problem.
24:41
SPEAKER_00: But it's you.
24:42
SPEAKER_00: You get a kick out of this, you get a high out of this.
24:46
SPEAKER_00: And he leaves the machine unfinished.
24:48
SPEAKER_00: And they're stressed the fuck out.
24:50
SPEAKER_00: And they're trying to like get it back together again.
24:53
SPEAKER_00: And in the meanwhile, Dean is having another meeting of the minds with the the collective group of MLM, whatever.
25:04
SPEAKER_00: We can't speak today.
25:10
SPEAKER_00: What did she just say?
25:12
SPEAKER_00: And it's like a therapy session.
25:13
SPEAKER_01: And I'm not and you have thoughts on this.
25:16
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
25:17
SPEAKER_00: If you see it, the like the all the episodes, you take away the selling aspect.
25:22
SPEAKER_00: I'm not mad at it at all.
25:28
SPEAKER_00: And I know I'm pretty sure watching it, people are like, oh my god, that's so chauvinistic, or that's like alpha male vibes, or whatever.
25:37
SPEAKER_01: I didn't get any of that.
25:38
SPEAKER_00: I didn't either.
25:39
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, these are just men supporting one another.
25:43
SPEAKER_00: And I'm actually not, and kudos, bravo to little man who had the idea to put the therapy session with the selling part.
25:54
SPEAKER_00: Awesome con.
25:55
SPEAKER_01: I mean, from an evil genius standpoint, it's brilliant.
25:59
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
26:00
SPEAKER_00: Amazing scam.
26:01
SPEAKER_00: I love that for you.
26:02
SPEAKER_01: And I'm and I have thoughts.
26:04
SPEAKER_01: I have, but I want to talk about them after the second MLM meeting.
26:12
SPEAKER_00: At the last meeting, Dean and Miss Best Crimes to the group.
26:19
SPEAKER_01: Well, you just jumped right into it, didn't you?
26:21
SPEAKER_00: I did.
26:23
SPEAKER_00: I did.
26:23
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
26:24
SPEAKER_01: Which is now.
26:26
SPEAKER_00: The first meeting was in, but this is after.
26:28
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, whatever.
26:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, it's funny.
26:30
SPEAKER_01: I just, it's funny.
26:32
SPEAKER_01: Um, my thoughts revolve around the meetings in Janu General.
26:38
SPEAKER_01: But once again, what the fuck, Dean?
26:41
SPEAKER_01: Why are you spilling your fucking family secrets to this group?
26:46
SPEAKER_01: Like there, there's you know, even even therapists with you know privilege have to report criminal activity.
26:55
SPEAKER_01: Like well, kind of, but you know, like what what the fuck are you doing?
27:03
SPEAKER_01: Okay, sorry.
27:05
SPEAKER_01: Cause I just I had to yell that out.
27:07
SPEAKER_00: Uh no, I feel you.
27:09
SPEAKER_00: I feel your pain.
27:13
SPEAKER_00: And I think that that was a moment he's he he went to a tunnel, they had the keys.
27:18
SPEAKER_01: The keys, the jingling the keys, jingling the keys, jingley baby.
27:22
SPEAKER_00: Go ahead, baby.
27:24
SPEAKER_00: Baby, go ahead, baby.
27:25
SPEAKER_01: It looked like you know, when you go to a party or a wedding, and then like they they call and see was like, oh, and the bridesmaids and the maid of honor, and like everybody lines up, and then they they do like they put their hands up, and then the bride and groom come out.
27:40
SPEAKER_01: It was like that, but with keys.
27:42
SPEAKER_00: Yes, he went to the tunnel of turmoil and came out on the other end with a lightness and a resolve.
27:52
SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
27:53
SPEAKER_00: Okay, never mind.
27:56
SPEAKER_00: Never mind.
27:57
SPEAKER_00: I that never happened.
27:58
SPEAKER_00: Stand and Ruby are no wait, so hold on.
28:02
SPEAKER_01: So I noticed that in the grand scheme of things, you know, these MLMs really, really work well because I think that they prey on people who are inherently like disadvantaged or at some point in their life where they're desperate for something, whether it's a sense of belonging or money or both.
28:34
SPEAKER_01: That that's the easiest time to get someone to jump in.
28:40
SPEAKER_01: You know, it's like the promise.
28:43
SPEAKER_01: But this is such an evil fucking genius move that I I'm kind of almost mad at it about how like exploitative it is, because he's providing them with basically therapy, which in some circles is like a bad word, you know.
29:08
SPEAKER_01: But it's like these people are so desperate that this sense of belonging is really all that they need.
29:19
SPEAKER_01: But it sucks that they have to attend these meetings to sell this product in order for them to get that safe space and that reassurance and that camaraderie that they're not getting anywhere else because I don't know all the other guys' situation, right?
29:36
SPEAKER_01: But we know Dean isn't getting that shit, which is why he feels the way that he does.
29:41
SPEAKER_01: And if the other guys were getting it, they probably wouldn't know what to do, they wouldn't know to be there because that would have never happened before, right?
29:50
SPEAKER_01: Like you and I didn't know what to do because we've never seen it before.
29:55
SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm sure you don't go to the meeting and they're like, okay, now check out the rules.
29:59
SPEAKER_01: And on page one, you know, this is what we mean when we say keys and like let's do a drill.
30:07
SPEAKER_00: But this in the fact and not knowing brings the whole sense of mystery and like I need to complete this, I'm gonna know where this is gonna go.
30:14
SPEAKER_00: I need to know.
30:15
SPEAKER_01: Right, because even Dean looked a little like what's going on, but I need to I need to know more, I need to be part of it, right?
30:23
SPEAKER_01: You know, and so that that's all.
30:25
SPEAKER_01: Like, I just I don't know.
30:28
SPEAKER_01: I just felt happy and sad in that moment, and I know it's TV and whatever, but it's representative of bigger things, and I'm sure that this is not something that isn't based off of a real life situation.
30:51
SPEAKER_01: That no, no, okay.
30:53
SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm sure that this has basis in real life.
30:57
SPEAKER_01: I I had too many negatives in there.
30:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay, that's okay.
31:01
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
31:02
SPEAKER_01: So well, I've I've never attended any kind of meeting like that.
31:10
SPEAKER_01: I just feel like I'm so sure that there's some somewhere in this country that one of those meetings is happening in real life.
31:20
SPEAKER_01: Several, it may be in every city.
31:23
SPEAKER_01: Right, or something that looks a whole lot like it.
31:27
SPEAKER_00: Probably right now as we're recording.
31:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
31:29
SPEAKER_01: And while on one hand, it's like it's really good that pe you know, men, women, people find that safe space that they need in order to just feel validated about who they are, but it's real shitty when it's exploitative.
31:50
SPEAKER_01: So that's the part that made me sad.
31:52
SPEAKER_01: All right, I'm gonna get off of my box now.
31:55
SPEAKER_00: We're gonna decorate your box one day.
31:57
SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
31:59
SPEAKER_01: I have a degree in psych, like I feel very, I don't know, like I just want people to be healthy, and I don't want therapy to be a bad word.
32:09
SPEAKER_01: And like people who shit all over terms like safe space, it's like, but my god, who hurt you?
32:15
SPEAKER_01: Like, did you not get a hug?
32:17
SPEAKER_01: Why would you ever want someone to not have a safe space to just be who they are, no matter what it looks like?
32:24
SPEAKER_01: You don't have to agree with it, but as long as they're not hurting anyone or themselves, like let people be.
32:31
SPEAKER_01: Empathy is not weakness.
32:33
SPEAKER_01: Therapy is not for the weak either.
32:35
SPEAKER_00: So no, not at all.
32:37
SPEAKER_01: Like people who shit all over it, is it because you're too scared to go yourself?
32:42
SPEAKER_01: Like, so you take down the next person?
32:44
SPEAKER_01: I don't get it.
32:45
SPEAKER_01: I don't get it.
32:47
SPEAKER_01: Therapy is a gift, man.
32:50
SPEAKER_01: And I wish it wasn't uh I wish it wasn't gatekeeped by finances.
32:57
SPEAKER_01: Anyway, uh alright, all right.
32:59
SPEAKER_01: Now I'm really stepping.
33:00
SPEAKER_01: Okay, my other foot is off.
33:02
SPEAKER_01: I'm good.
33:06
SPEAKER_00: That's funny.
33:08
SPEAKER_01: I'll be waiting for you to decorate my box.
33:11
SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't make a box so you're decorated.
33:14
SPEAKER_00: Stan and Ruby are together, and they're just doing a little.
33:18
SPEAKER_00: She's like, I'm happy, you know, you guys got it over and done with.
33:21
SPEAKER_00: You guys came to, you know, had a little come to Jesus moment.
33:27
SPEAKER_00: Oh, backtrack a little bit.
33:29
SPEAKER_00: When they would decide on who's gonna do take apart the machine, the printing machine.
33:37
SPEAKER_00: Ruby asks, like, how are you gonna get him to do it?
33:40
SPEAKER_00: She goes, Bef says, I'm just gonna tell him what he wants to hear.
33:46
SPEAKER_00: So now at this scene, Ruby and Stan are talking.
33:52
SPEAKER_00: She's like, Well, how'd you guys make it, you know, how you how did it work out?
33:55
SPEAKER_00: And he said, No, she told me what I want to hear.
33:57
SPEAKER_00: And Ruby goes, That's funny.
33:59
SPEAKER_00: That's the same thing she said.
34:02
SPEAKER_00: And the look in his face, she's like, This bitch here.
34:07
SPEAKER_00: And we all know that she was full of shit when she said it, but this means war.
34:12
SPEAKER_00: I think this is this this is nothing but war.
34:16
SPEAKER_00: Ruby, not Ruby, Annie.
34:18
SPEAKER_00: She realized that Kevin and her and Ben have bonded.
34:22
SPEAKER_00: When she had came home at one point, Kevin was playing with Ben's lacrostic.
34:27
SPEAKER_00: She's like, put that down.
34:28
SPEAKER_00: He's like, This is just like top-tier lacrostic, whatever.
34:33
SPEAKER_00: So she comes home, and Ben was just like, yeah, he showed me some sick move that might give me a penalty.
34:39
SPEAKER_00: He goes, Kevin showed you.
34:41
SPEAKER_00: He's like, Yeah, he was like all American.
34:43
SPEAKER_00: He played for Maryland.
34:45
SPEAKER_00: And she's like, Oh, okay.
34:50
SPEAKER_00: And she realized that they bonded, and then that is bad.
34:53
SPEAKER_00: So she's like, Okay, lo and behold, the next scene, Ruby's like, so he's staying now?
35:01
SPEAKER_00: And we're like, Yes, that's what's happening.
35:05
SPEAKER_00: At this point, after the meeting and after his tunnel moment, Dean doing the time where he could he leaves footprints and waterprints in the floor.
35:16
SPEAKER_00: He's just killing in the in the what's this thing called?
35:20
SPEAKER_00: A hot tub.
35:21
SPEAKER_00: In the hot tub with the key on the side.
35:23
SPEAKER_00: With the key on the side.
35:24
SPEAKER_00: He's done.
35:25
SPEAKER_00: He's just, he she went back to the printing press.
35:30
SPEAKER_00: No, the strip club, and he had put it together.
35:32
SPEAKER_00: She goes, You finished it.
35:34
SPEAKER_00: He's like, Yeah.
35:35
SPEAKER_00: She's she's like, so what change?
35:38
SPEAKER_00: He said, I just let it go.
35:40
SPEAKER_00: That okay, that's what a woman has got to a point where she stopped nagging, she and she's let it go.
35:48
SPEAKER_00: Dude, you're just waiting for the divorce papers.
35:51
SPEAKER_00: Like you're just waiting to be kicked out.
35:52
SPEAKER_00: Like she's done.
35:53
SPEAKER_00: It's over, it's done with the relationship, it's over.
35:56
SPEAKER_00: So he's just meh, he's lady to go.
36:01
SPEAKER_00: So they did their thing, I guess.
36:02
SPEAKER_00: They print up their paper.
36:05
SPEAKER_00: She's having a meeting with Rio.
36:08
SPEAKER_00: So pretty voice comes out that they're gonna have to go to Canada to flip that money.
36:13
SPEAKER_00: And she's like, God damn it.
36:15
SPEAKER_00: Like there is no end to this.
36:17
SPEAKER_00: She's like, Well, how are we gonna flip it?
36:18
SPEAKER_00: He goes, Miguel can't flip that.
36:20
SPEAKER_00: She can't flip the queen here.
36:22
SPEAKER_00: She's like, then what are we fucking?
36:25
SPEAKER_01: He said, all you had to do was print and drop, and I'll let you know where to drop.
36:31
SPEAKER_01: And Annie's like, You see, I told you.
36:34
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it never ends.
36:36
SPEAKER_01: She's like, if you stay in the game long enough, something winds up in your ass.
36:41
SPEAKER_00: Always in the ass.
36:42
SPEAKER_00: Not the fun way.
36:43
SPEAKER_01: How are they gonna put all that money in their ass, first of all?
36:46
SPEAKER_01: That's not possible.
36:48
SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
36:50
SPEAKER_01: I they they would need hundreds of trips across the border.
36:54
SPEAKER_01: Like, how did you say hundreds of asses?
36:58
SPEAKER_01: Or that.
36:58
SPEAKER_01: Or that.
36:59
SPEAKER_01: You know, it's like Robin Hood, men of tights.
37:01
SPEAKER_01: You don't need a you know, a feet of strength, you need the strength of feet, okay?
37:05
SPEAKER_01: Like you just you need a hundred asses or a hundred trips with three asses.
37:11
SPEAKER_01: Like where would you put it?
37:15
SPEAKER_01: None of them have big asses.
37:16
SPEAKER_01: Well, except Ruby.
37:18
SPEAKER_01: But still, how could she get, you know, she can't get a few bucks between the cheeks, maybe.
37:25
SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
37:25
SPEAKER_01: Like, how do you the fact that you're going like you're actually like debating?
37:30
SPEAKER_00: I I find this amazing.
37:32
SPEAKER_00: Like, this is fucking amazing.
37:33
SPEAKER_00: This is awesome.
37:34
SPEAKER_00: This is awesome sauce right now.
37:37
SPEAKER_01: My brain is very weird.
37:39
SPEAKER_00: So we after this episode, we have four more episodes to the end of this series.
37:45
SPEAKER_00: The Eckhead, that was in English.
37:47
SPEAKER_00: We have four more episodes left before the series ends.
37:55
SPEAKER_01: Well, let's see what's gonna happen in four episodes.
37:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I mean, I don't have anything else, I guess.
38:04
SPEAKER_01: We'll just keep on watching and see how much.
38:08
SPEAKER_01: Keep on watching.
38:09
SPEAKER_01: We'll see how much money they can each fit in their butt.
38:14
SPEAKER_01: Let's see how much money we can fit on our butt.
38:18
