- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's your person, Michelle. I guess I'm here again,
- 0:05Speaker 1: and it's warm out kind of a lot warm, but
- 0:08Speaker 1: that's fine, I guess. I mean, it's finally the right
- 0:11Speaker 1: time of the year for it to be warm, so yay.
- 0:14Speaker 1: But uh yeah, yeah, still existing. I may or may
- 0:19Speaker 1: not be making an anime mosaic in my front yard.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Let's pretend I didn't say that, but I did, and
- 0:28Speaker 1: it's embarrassing on all sorts of levels all the time.
- 0:32Speaker 1: But I really messed it up yesterday just I don't
- 0:35Speaker 1: know why. I thought I needed to lift up the
- 0:38Speaker 1: whole mural and put it back down, but it ended
- 0:41Speaker 1: up falling apart, so now I have to do it
- 0:43Speaker 1: again later. I hope I can fix it, because I
- 0:46Speaker 1: was really kind of sadly proud of the way that
- 0:49Speaker 1: it came out. And yeah, I don't know if I
- 0:52Speaker 1: can do it as good again. I'm not sure why
- 0:55Speaker 1: you care. It's just if you're walking around and you
- 0:58Speaker 1: see a house that has all sorts of mosaics on
- 1:01Speaker 1: it and some of them are anime related, that's probably
- 1:04Speaker 1: my house, so now you know. And no, I'm not
- 1:08Speaker 1: gonna specify what anime is related to Anyway, I'm recording
- 1:13Speaker 1: this earlier in the week than I usually do because
- 1:15Speaker 1: I was I don't know, I'm really busy, so I
- 1:17Speaker 1: don't know what happened. But like, I just kept taking
- 1:21Speaker 1: notes on episode eight, like more than I intended to
- 1:25Speaker 1: because I got really into the episode. So it's like
- 1:28Speaker 1: just a couple days past when the last episode aired.
- 1:31Speaker 1: For you guys, it's Saturday, so weird, but it's kind
- 1:36Speaker 1: of nice to get things done early. Or maybe it's
- 1:38Speaker 1: just stressing me out more. We'll find out. But I
- 1:42Speaker 1: wanted to say, Wow, Ree zero had another really good
- 1:45Speaker 1: episode and I was very excited about it. I hope
- 1:49Speaker 1: Subrew is always in a sad, horrible mental space. I
- 1:52Speaker 1: mean not really, but man, are those good episodes. Anyway. Also,
- 1:57Speaker 1: I think I've been talking about like I've watching Tokyo
- 2:00Speaker 1: Gul finally and I watched all of the first season
- 2:03Speaker 1: and wow, they like really fucked up the storyline like terribly.
- 2:08Speaker 1: There was so many changes that I don't understand why
- 2:11Speaker 1: they were changed. I mean, I guess it all comes
- 2:14Speaker 1: down to they were trying to fit everything in what
- 2:17Speaker 1: was it, like eleven episodes, and I don't know, there's
- 2:21Speaker 1: just so much stuff that was left out about like
- 2:26Speaker 1: how goouls work and the cogune weapons, and then like
- 2:30Speaker 1: the very end part that's all torture. It wasn't too bad,
- 2:34Speaker 1: Like I was pretty pretty happy with the way that went,
- 2:37Speaker 1: but like the setup didn't make sense, and I was like,
- 2:40Speaker 1: why would he just be there and that happening then?
- 2:42Speaker 1: And then I reread that part of the manga and
- 2:44Speaker 1: I was like, oh, because they just skipped all these things.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, So now you know that I still
- 2:54Speaker 1: have not great feelings about the Tokyogool anime, but at
- 2:57Speaker 1: least I can say I watched the first season and
- 3:00Speaker 1: that my feelings are unique to my understanding. I don't
- 3:04Speaker 1: think that that made sense. It doesn't matter. We don't
- 3:06Speaker 1: need to talk about Tokyo Ghoul, but you should know
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'm probably not watching anymore because why why watch them
- 3:15Speaker 1: butcher it anymore? Sorry, guys. If you like the Tokyogol anime,
- 3:19Speaker 1: that's awesome. I don't think it's bad by any means, honestly,
- 3:23Speaker 1: and it was a lot of fun to watch, but
- 3:26Speaker 1: like it's it's hard to watch it knowing what happened
- 3:29Speaker 1: in the manga and if you've only seen the anime.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You should probably read the manga. Yeah, go out and
- 3:36Speaker 1: read Tokyo Goool yeah or something. I don't know, And
- 3:41Speaker 1: Suzio was introduced and I love him, So let's get
- 3:45Speaker 1: to it, because I don't need to talk about anymore
- 3:48Speaker 1: or this shit unless you want me to. But you
- 3:50Speaker 1: can't tell me because I'm all here by myself with
- 3:53Speaker 1: my cat and she's not saying anything. So I'm just
- 3:57Speaker 1: gonna assume that you don't want to hear about it
- 3:59Speaker 1: anymore and you want to talk about Lane episode eight,
- 4:02Speaker 1: because that's what we're supposed to do. So episode eight
- 4:06Speaker 1: is called Rumors, which is a fucking perfect title for it,
- 4:10Speaker 1: and I like loved the shit out of this episode,
- 4:14Speaker 1: so I hope that I can do it justice. And yeah,
- 4:20Speaker 1: so if you remember from the end of last episode,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I don't oh right, that dude was killed. The guy
- 4:26Speaker 1: was walking down the street with like the headset on
- 4:28Speaker 1: and stuff and the like goggles and shit. He was
- 4:31Speaker 1: killed and thrown in a ditch. I guess by maybe
- 4:34Speaker 1: the nights and Lane was asked very easy questions like
- 4:38Speaker 1: when are her parents' birthdays? Where was she born? And
- 4:40Speaker 1: she could not answer them. So yeah, it's been a
- 4:45Speaker 1: rough time. So this episode starts not over there, because
- 4:49Speaker 1: they never start where they end in serial Expartment's lane,
- 4:53Speaker 1: but it starts the way it normally starts, with some
- 4:56Speaker 1: normal shit and then present day present time ahaha or
- 5:00Speaker 1: something that's a terrible laugh. I'm still gonna work on it.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Then we go to the opening theme hooray. Then back
- 5:07Speaker 1: from the opening, more normal shits and buildings and stuff,
- 5:10Speaker 1: with like a voiceover of some girl that could be
- 5:13Speaker 1: Layin but I really don't know, saying so you want
- 5:16Speaker 1: to hurt too? Do you do? You want your heart
- 5:18Speaker 1: to feel like it's been scraped across with a rasp.
- 5:21Speaker 1: If you do, don't look away whatever you do. Fuck
- 5:25Speaker 1: title card Rumors, Layer zero eight. Oh, and I wanted
- 5:29Speaker 1: to point out that there was some texts kind of
- 5:31Speaker 1: like morphing and scrolling in the background, and it said
- 5:33Speaker 1: make me sad and then also make me feel Hm.
- 5:37Speaker 1: We see like a yellow slash like cut through like
- 5:40Speaker 1: a greenish colored screen. It kind of parts and we
- 5:43Speaker 1: see Tato, remember the kid that Lane talked to that
- 5:46Speaker 1: wanted to date her in Syperia that one time, and
- 5:50Speaker 1: he is on a background that looks like maybe he's
- 5:52Speaker 1: in a desert. He's kind of pixelated, so I don't
- 5:55Speaker 1: think this is a real desert. He slashes with this
- 5:57Speaker 1: like giant guts like sword and then he puts it
- 6:00Speaker 1: on his back, and we see that in the background
- 6:03Speaker 1: it's not like just a desert. There are all of
- 6:05Speaker 1: these like rocky like outcrops of mountains, like it doesn't
- 6:09Speaker 1: look like a nice place though there's not any vegetation,
- 6:13Speaker 1: and Tato says, no one can be sure if there
- 6:15Speaker 1: really is or not. He's kind of rubbing his nose
- 6:17Speaker 1: and then he looks over his shoulder. You see, for
- 6:20Speaker 1: the most part, it doesn't really match the user. If
- 6:22Speaker 1: God exists in the wired you ask them and they
- 6:24Speaker 1: don't care. He turns fully around. Now, oh hey, just
- 6:28Speaker 1: a second lane before you go. Let me take this
- 6:30Speaker 1: guy out. He points, and he puts his hand out
- 6:34Speaker 1: and his sword kind of warps back into it, and
- 6:37Speaker 1: we get a wider shot now, and we see that
- 6:38Speaker 1: there's this big purple monster in front of him that
- 6:42Speaker 1: has like two tongues and like it's a testines are
- 6:45Speaker 1: exposed and I don't know if it's like a slug
- 6:48Speaker 1: or like a tentacled or like I don't know when
- 6:51Speaker 1: it's kind of standing up. It's real weird looking. Anyway.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Lane is there too. She is standing on like one
- 6:56Speaker 1: of the mountains, watching with her hands on her hips,
- 6:59Speaker 1: and she does not look pixelated. She's very normal Lane looking.
- 7:03Speaker 1: She's wearing like a sweater and like no pants, Like
- 7:06Speaker 1: it's a long sweater I think, or like a sweatshirt
- 7:09Speaker 1: or something. Who cares anyway, she says, what's so fun
- 7:12Speaker 1: about this? Tato kills the monster in one swipe and
- 7:16Speaker 1: it disappears as it would, and Lane continues, all you've
- 7:19Speaker 1: been doing is killing other players. Oh he's a player killer.
- 7:22Speaker 1: A blue light kind of encircles Tato from like the
- 7:25Speaker 1: ground like comes up and he says, no one really
- 7:28Speaker 1: knows what's fun and no one can really understand why.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Lane stares at him and it's quiet for a second.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Then she's like hmm. We cut to her at her computer,
- 7:37Speaker 1: staring at the screen, resting her head in her hands.
- 7:40Speaker 1: She says, the name that was written on the door
- 7:43Speaker 1: plate was Tachibana General Laboratories. She presses her hand over
- 7:47Speaker 1: her mouse and it makes some beeps, like maybe she
- 7:50Speaker 1: pressed a button, but it didn't look like that, and
- 7:52Speaker 1: then we see her teleport out of that game in
- 7:54Speaker 1: like a blue light and a screen kind of warps
- 7:57Speaker 1: in that has like a lot of neon pink in
- 8:00Speaker 1: green and blue on it, and it says, come on
- 8:04Speaker 1: in new pick post click here. Now you heard me
- 8:09Speaker 1: chuckle there, basically because of the way that come is spelled.
- 8:12Speaker 1: It's not spelled come as would be appropriate. It's spelled cum.
- 8:18Speaker 1: So at first I thought that this was a mistake,
- 8:22Speaker 1: and now I don't think it is, but uh yeah, come.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So anyway, I'm a little bit worried about what Lane's
- 8:33Speaker 1: doing right now. So we are now like the camera
- 8:37Speaker 1: is kind of like panning up on a woman who
- 8:40Speaker 1: is naked, but like is censored with like bright swirly
- 8:44Speaker 1: tie dyed patterns of lights more or less, and she
- 8:49Speaker 1: is wearing red high heels. She's got kind of longish hair,
- 8:52Speaker 1: but her head is also kind of in that like
- 8:54Speaker 1: ti ed eye color pattern, so she doesn't really look
- 8:57Speaker 1: like anything in particular. She is hovering in front of
- 9:00Speaker 1: Lane in like this greenish blueish place with like white
- 9:04Speaker 1: I don't know, branches or something in the background. I'm
- 9:07Speaker 1: not sure. Anyway, she kind of bends down and says
- 9:12Speaker 1: in a male's voice. I'm assuming that this is the
- 9:15Speaker 1: woman that's talking. But after that first initial shot, we
- 9:19Speaker 1: don't see her head or really even the top of
- 9:21Speaker 1: her torso again we're just seeing like her legs, So
- 9:25Speaker 1: I don't know, but she sounds like a guy anyway.
- 9:28Speaker 1: She says, a company as big as Tachibana General Labs
- 9:31Speaker 1: would never dream of doing anything illegal. Really, is that
- 9:34Speaker 1: a thing I've heard rumors? Though. Lane is looking off
- 9:38Speaker 1: to the side. She looks kind of pissed off. She
- 9:40Speaker 1: has her hands on her hips, and I assume that
- 9:43Speaker 1: the idea of being in front of this kind of
- 9:45Speaker 1: woman who kind of looks like she might be some
- 9:47Speaker 1: sort of stripper thing might be a little uncomfortable for her,
- 9:51Speaker 1: but I'm not sure. Anyway, she says, rumors fishnet stockings
- 9:56Speaker 1: start to kind of appear on the woman, and she says,
- 10:01Speaker 1: in the wire, do you have any idea how we're
- 10:03Speaker 1: able to exchange information like this? She like disappears. Lane's like, oh,
- 10:08Speaker 1: so you think you're testing me. The woman's legs appear
- 10:11Speaker 1: on the screen again. They like step back into it,
- 10:14Speaker 1: kind of closer up, and Lane continues, I know you're
- 10:17Speaker 1: talking about IP, aren't you. The woman chuckles, Sorry, you're right.
- 10:22Speaker 1: We rarely know of the protocol's existence, especially with the
- 10:25Speaker 1: advanced levels. However, the sixth generation protocol has reached its
- 10:29Speaker 1: absolute data throughput limit as far as I can tell.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Lane's like, so it's the seventh generation protocol. The woman says, yeah,
- 10:37Speaker 1: the seventh generation protocol. She is just running her hands
- 10:41Speaker 1: up her leg sure and kind of like kneeling. She continues.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Big companies are the ones making it into the new infrastructure.
- 10:48Speaker 1: You see. To control the protocol means to control the
- 10:52Speaker 1: entire economy of the wired without any interference. I hear
- 10:55Speaker 1: that there's constant sabotage attempts going on, and the party
- 10:59Speaker 1: behind all of this is Lane cuts her off tauchy
- 11:01Speaker 1: bound of general lapse. She starts to walk away. The
- 11:04Speaker 1: woman chuckles, and we fades black. We cut to electrical
- 11:09Speaker 1: wires humming on a purply blue like night sky, I believe.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Then he cuts it black again and Lane opens the door,
- 11:16Speaker 1: like from her room out into the hallway, and she
- 11:19Speaker 1: walks out. It's hitch black in the hallway. I mean
- 11:22Speaker 1: her room is usually dark too, but like it has
- 11:24Speaker 1: the glow of computers coming from it, but the hallway
- 11:27Speaker 1: is like nothing, like there's not a there's no lines
- 11:30Speaker 1: in the background, just black, which is upsetting. I made
- 11:33Speaker 1: a note that she's kind of off modeled here, like
- 11:35Speaker 1: her eyes are very far apart, but you know, it happens.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Can't draw people right all the time. Anyway, She gasps
- 11:42Speaker 1: for some reason, and we see down the hall that
- 11:44Speaker 1: there's someone slumped over by like the window, which is
- 11:48Speaker 1: the only source of light we have, and it's really
- 11:50Speaker 1: not doing anything for this dark hallway, but we can
- 11:53Speaker 1: see the outline of this person. Lane says, are you
- 11:56Speaker 1: o ka on echan? Mika's head is down, she is
- 12:00Speaker 1: looking at the floor and just making sounds. Lane just
- 12:03Speaker 1: kind of stares at her as she tries to say something,
- 12:07Speaker 1: but it's just like my mama, like there's nothing going
- 12:09Speaker 1: on in there. And I don't know if she's actually
- 12:11Speaker 1: trying to tell Lane something or if she's just making
- 12:15Speaker 1: sounds because she's so far gone. I'm not sure. Anyway,
- 12:18Speaker 1: we cut to a very bright window and then Lane
- 12:21Speaker 1: walks up and slides it so it's actually a door,
- 12:24Speaker 1: a sliding door, not a window, and it's the one
- 12:27Speaker 1: that separates the living space from the hallway. So she
- 12:29Speaker 1: walks into the living space, like the living room area,
- 12:33Speaker 1: and we see that the TV is on, turned to
- 12:35Speaker 1: the news and the sound is off again. It's like
- 12:38Speaker 1: why even have it on. Lane stares at it, and
- 12:41Speaker 1: then she looks towards the kitchen and she sees her parents.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I thought that they were like standing, but they're not,
- 12:47Speaker 1: because I saw this in a couple of scenes. They're
- 12:49Speaker 1: sitting at the table facing the living room so towards her,
- 12:53Speaker 1: and she just kind of stares for a minute, and
- 12:56Speaker 1: then she kind of gasps, like very slightly. Both of
- 12:58Speaker 1: her parents are totally motionless. Her mom is looking down,
- 13:02Speaker 1: I guess, at the table, and we can't tell what
- 13:05Speaker 1: her dad's eyes are doing because his glasses are reflecting
- 13:08Speaker 1: the light. But they are just sitting there. Lane walks over,
- 13:13Speaker 1: and this is when I was like, oh, they are
- 13:14Speaker 1: sitting at the table. She passes by them, and they
- 13:17Speaker 1: like don't move at all, They don't turn, they don't
- 13:20Speaker 1: say anything to her. She goes into the kitchen and
- 13:23Speaker 1: she grabs a glass out of the drawing rack. She
- 13:26Speaker 1: opens the fridge and takes out a brown beverage. It's
- 13:30Speaker 1: just in a glass bottle that doesn't have any sort
- 13:34Speaker 1: of label. Maybe it's iced tea. I don't know what
- 13:37Speaker 1: it is. And she fills her glass and closes the fridge,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and she just kind of stares down at her drink.
- 13:45Speaker 1: While she's just looking at her glass, she says, Mom, Dad,
- 13:50Speaker 1: can I ask? She turns and realizes that they haven't
- 13:54Speaker 1: reacted at all. They're still sitting at the table facing
- 13:58Speaker 1: the living room with their BackStar. She has this look
- 14:01Speaker 1: on her face that I wasn't sure what it is,
- 14:03Speaker 1: but I think it's like one of those looks where
- 14:05Speaker 1: like you're worried to tell somebody something, but you also
- 14:08Speaker 1: feel like it's really stupid to bring this thing up
- 14:10Speaker 1: because it can't be real, right. So anyway, she says,
- 14:16Speaker 1: a while ago, some somebody asked me a strange question.
- 14:20Speaker 1: She kind of sniffs, and she looks like she's gonna cry.
- 14:24Speaker 1: They said, are you iwa Cara Laine, And then they
- 14:28Speaker 1: also wanted to know, are your parents really your parents?
- 14:33Speaker 1: Isn't that funny? Or silence? Lane continues, It's funny, right,
- 14:39Speaker 1: people say the funniest things, huh. Her parents make no
- 14:44Speaker 1: attempt to answer her. She continues, right at this point,
- 14:51Speaker 1: she just starts to drink her beverage, and then we
- 14:53Speaker 1: see the kitchen faucet running, and we don't see Lane
- 14:57Speaker 1: clean the cup, but I assume that's what she did,
- 14:59Speaker 1: because she what's it in the drying wreck. And then
- 15:03Speaker 1: she turns and looks up and gasps. Both of her
- 15:07Speaker 1: parents have craned their heads towards her, and they're just
- 15:12Speaker 1: staring at her coldly or really sternly, I'm not sure,
- 15:19Speaker 1: but it feels not good. She gasps again, and they
- 15:23Speaker 1: just continue to stare at her for like way too long,
- 15:30Speaker 1: and then we fade out. What the fuck? Okay, let
- 15:34Speaker 1: me just pause there, because that actually made me really upset.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I can't even imagine how alone she must feel like.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I mean, she's got all of these like really scary
- 15:44Speaker 1: things happening, and it really upsets me that like she
- 15:48Speaker 1: doesn't have like there's there's just nothing there between her
- 15:53Speaker 1: and her parents. She must be so scared. Yeah. I
- 15:57Speaker 1: don't know what's going on with them, but something is
- 16:01Speaker 1: going on. It's not like they don't see her. Why
- 16:05Speaker 1: are they not responding. I mean, you could respond anything.
- 16:08Speaker 1: They could tell the truth, whatever that is. They could
- 16:10Speaker 1: lie to her, but to just ignore her and then
- 16:15Speaker 1: just to like stare through her. It's fucked up, Yeah,
- 16:20Speaker 1: like you didn't know that anyway, Let's move on. We
- 16:23Speaker 1: get two wires humming on a white background and kids
- 16:26Speaker 1: walking into the school grounds. Everyone's like talking and shit,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and we see Lane walking like from behind, and a
- 16:32Speaker 1: shadow kind of approaches her back and we see a
- 16:35Speaker 1: hand reach out. The hand rests itself on Lane's shoulder,
- 16:38Speaker 1: and Lane stops and turns and she's like, uh, Alice,
- 16:42Speaker 1: good morning. Alice is obviously there, and so were the
- 16:46Speaker 1: other two behind her. Alice looks surprisingly blank, like that's like,
- 16:51Speaker 1: I don't know what emotion this is, and Judy and
- 16:55Speaker 1: Raka look kind of pissed off, and no one says anything,
- 17:00Speaker 1: which has got to be a little bit scary because
- 17:02Speaker 1: Layne is dealing with this with her parents and with
- 17:04Speaker 1: Mega and just nobody's talking anyway. Lane says, what's wrong? Hey,
- 17:11Speaker 1: they just keep staring at her. Fuck. Eventually Alice says,
- 17:16Speaker 1: I don't know, I just don't believe it. Lane's like, huh,
- 17:21Speaker 1: what Alice is Like, Lane, you didn't do it right?
- 17:26Speaker 1: Lane says, what? Rayas like, I'll bet she's been playing
- 17:30Speaker 1: innocent all along. Alice turns and is like, Weika, you
- 17:33Speaker 1: don't know that for sure? Judy says, seriously, you mean
- 17:37Speaker 1: it wasn't you Lane. Alice is like Layne in the wire,
- 17:41Speaker 1: did you? But she just kind of stops because she
- 17:44Speaker 1: realizes that Laine looks like she's about to cry. Alice
- 17:47Speaker 1: exhales and then smiles and says, no, never mind, forget
- 17:50Speaker 1: about it. It couldn't have been you. What somebody tell me?
- 17:54Speaker 1: Lane is beginning to sweat, and Alice continues, It's all right,
- 17:58Speaker 1: I trust you, Okay, we hear Judy say, Alice. Alice
- 18:04Speaker 1: turns and she's like what Judy motions like with her
- 18:07Speaker 1: head off to the side. And Alice turns and gasps,
- 18:10Speaker 1: and we see like this red car like at this
- 18:13Speaker 1: security gate. I guess when you drive into the school
- 18:17Speaker 1: grounds you have to stop at like a little station
- 18:21Speaker 1: or whatever the hell. And we can't see in the
- 18:24Speaker 1: car because the windshield is reflecting the sunlight. But Alice
- 18:28Speaker 1: is like staring at this, and then we see the
- 18:30Speaker 1: guy in the car. He's got short black hair and
- 18:32Speaker 1: he's maybe wearing like a green suit, I'm not sure,
- 18:36Speaker 1: or jacket or something. Alice gasps again and kind of
- 18:41Speaker 1: looks a little bit enthralled. Actually gross. The car drives
- 18:46Speaker 1: in and we get a shot of his profile as
- 18:48Speaker 1: he drives off to the left. He is not really attractive.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I mean, he's not like ugly. But if Alice has
- 18:55Speaker 1: a crush on him, I'm not saying it. When the
- 18:58Speaker 1: car's out of you, Alice just and Raca's like Alice,
- 19:02Speaker 1: Rika and Judy kind of giggle and run after her. Gross.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Blaine watches them and then looks back to where the
- 19:09Speaker 1: car was and lowers her head. I don't know, man.
- 19:13Speaker 1: We cut to the teacher writing on the chalkboard. This
- 19:16Speaker 1: scene has been repeated in so many episodes. It's like
- 19:19Speaker 1: we're panning left to right, like past all the students
- 19:22Speaker 1: with the teacher like, you know, using chalk on the blackboard.
- 19:26Speaker 1: But there's nothing on the board, so maybe she just started.
- 19:29Speaker 1: But it's okay. It sets up the scene anyway. We
- 19:33Speaker 1: see Lane's red pen hovering over her phone screen and
- 19:37Speaker 1: the screen is blue with like some circles on it
- 19:39Speaker 1: and it says like tool manager, and she touches one
- 19:42Speaker 1: of the circles with the pen and a screen comes
- 19:45Speaker 1: up that says internets with a bunch of things I
- 19:47Speaker 1: can't read because they're not legible. She clicks on it
- 19:50Speaker 1: again and it goes away, and we get a shot
- 19:53Speaker 1: of this from below her desk as she is, like,
- 19:56Speaker 1: you know, clicking on things, and then she opens something
- 19:59Speaker 1: that has like a bunch of little circle windows with
- 20:02Speaker 1: like text that's I think in Japanese, and we fade out.
- 20:06Speaker 1: We cut to some kind of platform I think, floating
- 20:10Speaker 1: on a black screen, and it gets closer and then
- 20:13Speaker 1: it like kind of goes through, like the perspective of
- 20:15Speaker 1: the viewer I guess, like passes us. We see Lane's profile.
- 20:20Speaker 1: She's looking at something, but we can't see what it is,
- 20:23Speaker 1: and we hear a man say it's just too dangerous.
- 20:26Speaker 1: We have to avoid any more builts. So we're seeing
- 20:29Speaker 1: now lots of torsos with like clothing on them and stuff,
- 20:33Speaker 1: but like no heads or necks, but lips where they
- 20:37Speaker 1: should be, but nothing else. So all of the lips
- 20:41Speaker 1: are kind of moving at the same time, so I
- 20:42Speaker 1: can't tell which voice goes to which lips. So I'll
- 20:46Speaker 1: do my best here. So anyway, someone else says, I
- 20:49Speaker 1: can't believe it. How could such a nice guy get
- 20:51Speaker 1: himself into such a collection of weird stuff. Someone else says,
- 20:56Speaker 1: there's an extremely serious bug that's been detected in Protocol six.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Damage caused by this may prove disastrous in the wired.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Someone else is like, you haven't heard the best part.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Every night, a childlike person in a red and green
- 21:08Speaker 1: striped sweater appears in her room. Lane is standing on
- 21:13Speaker 1: like a path. That's what the platform was. It was
- 21:15Speaker 1: actually a path at Both sides of the path are
- 21:18Speaker 1: flanked by these headless sitting people, so we're seeing more
- 21:21Speaker 1: than Torso's now, and all of them are complete excepts
- 21:25Speaker 1: for their heads, which of course are just lips and
- 21:28Speaker 1: nothing else. Someone else says when she was in high
- 21:31Speaker 1: school that pops in or hit someone with her boyfriend's car,
- 21:34Speaker 1: and she just fled the scene. Lane is walking now
- 21:37Speaker 1: past all these people. Someone else is like, I tell
- 21:40Speaker 1: you it's got to be true. I heard the information firsthand.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Someone laughs. The building's a famous haunted spot, you know.
- 21:48Speaker 1: If you look at its terminal at night, internal email
- 21:50Speaker 1: shows up, but no one's there. Ooh. Someone else is like,
- 21:55Speaker 1: the nights don't exist. Some American students started it as
- 21:58Speaker 1: a joke. Lane stops shut up? Who cares about any
- 22:01Speaker 1: of this? Another person says, don't you find any of
- 22:05Speaker 1: it interesting? I mean, it feels like we're just scrolling
- 22:09Speaker 1: through message boards or something. Lane turns, who's there? She's
- 22:14Speaker 1: looking around. I guess this person isn't one of the
- 22:16Speaker 1: chattering things on the side of her anyway. The person,
- 22:20Speaker 1: who has a man's voice, by the way, continues, you're
- 22:23Speaker 1: looking for me, Lane, aren't you. Lane's like, So, God
- 22:27Speaker 1: makes his grand entrance. I guess, God says, but how
- 22:31Speaker 1: do you define your God? Is it the creator of
- 22:34Speaker 1: the world. If it's the creator of the world, that's
- 22:37Speaker 1: not me, the all powerful ruler of the world. Surely
- 22:40Speaker 1: you're mistaken. You give God too much credits. Lane says,
- 22:45Speaker 1: so then where are you? God's like, Well, if you
- 22:49Speaker 1: define God as the one who exists everywhere in that
- 22:52Speaker 1: other world out there, If that's what you mean, then yes,
- 22:55Speaker 1: I suppose you could call me that I have only
- 22:58Speaker 1: a slight influence on the overall work the world. However,
- 23:01Speaker 1: Laane kind of whips her head around and looks up,
- 23:03Speaker 1: and she's like, who the hell are you? God says,
- 23:07Speaker 1: I'm you. Fuck. Surely you must realize that it's sometime
- 23:11Speaker 1: that another you has always existed on its own terms
- 23:14Speaker 1: in the wired. Lane sighs and kind of hangs her head,
- 23:17Speaker 1: and God continues, you are merely a hologram of the
- 23:20Speaker 1: other you. Fuck, but it's not what people want to hear.
- 23:25Speaker 1: God continues, you are essentially just a body. Lane says,
- 23:32Speaker 1: you expect me to believe that she puts her hand
- 23:35Speaker 1: over her eyes. Impossible, that's crazy. God laughs. But you
- 23:40Speaker 1: don't think that the you in the real world is
- 23:41Speaker 1: the same as the one standing here on the wire,
- 23:43Speaker 1: do you? Laine falls to her knees. She has her
- 23:46Speaker 1: hand still over her face, and the other one is
- 23:48Speaker 1: like bracing her against the ground, and she says, well, no,
- 23:51Speaker 1: because I'm me, I'm me. The screen kind of blurs out,
- 23:56Speaker 1: and we go to a close up of Lane with
- 23:59Speaker 1: her hand over her face and her pen is in
- 24:01Speaker 1: her hand, by the way, so this is not happening
- 24:03Speaker 1: in the wired, and she's panting and she looks down
- 24:08Speaker 1: at those like weird circles on her screen and she
- 24:10Speaker 1: clicks them away. Then she looks up and she sees
- 24:13Speaker 1: that everyone in the class is staring at her. This
- 24:16Speaker 1: has not been a good day. She looks around and
- 24:19Speaker 1: gasps and realizes the teacher is standing directly in front
- 24:23Speaker 1: of her, also staring at her. She looks down at
- 24:25Speaker 1: her screen and it says mail receive and then in Japanese,
- 24:29Speaker 1: Lane is a peeper like what. She stares at it
- 24:33Speaker 1: like terrified and sweating, and then she looks back up
- 24:36Speaker 1: at the classroom full of students just staring at her,
- 24:39Speaker 1: and we fade to black. We see a door. It
- 24:42Speaker 1: slides open, and Lane exits the room and she runs
- 24:46Speaker 1: down the hallway clutching her phone. She stops and she
- 24:49Speaker 1: sees that people ahead of her in the hallway are
- 24:52Speaker 1: staring at her as well, which could just be because
- 24:55Speaker 1: she's running down the hallway and they're confused, but I
- 24:58Speaker 1: don't think so. Anyway, she the bolts past them and
- 25:01Speaker 1: they keep their eyes locked on her. As she passes,
- 25:05Speaker 1: she stops again at like the lockers, which I think
- 25:08Speaker 1: are just for your shoes, but I'm still not sure,
- 25:10Speaker 1: and everyone there is also staring at her. Yeah, she
- 25:16Speaker 1: kind of starts to back away, and then she, you know,
- 25:19Speaker 1: catches a glimpse of a classroom with the door open,
- 25:22Speaker 1: and the kids in the classroom are wearing like aprons
- 25:24Speaker 1: or something. Maybe they're doing, like cooking, I'm not sure,
- 25:28Speaker 1: and they are all staring out at her. Now. It's
- 25:31Speaker 1: getting weird because they should be engrossed in whatever they're doing,
- 25:34Speaker 1: not just staring at Lane. She gasps and backs up
- 25:37Speaker 1: and looks out the window that's behind her, and the
- 25:40Speaker 1: kids outside, who are maybe doing gym things, have all
- 25:43Speaker 1: stopped and are staring up at her as well. Lane
- 25:46Speaker 1: says Alice. She opens her phone, Alice, where are you?
- 25:51Speaker 1: We see male from Alice that says, don't mind the rumors,
- 25:54Speaker 1: don't mind them. Lane says Alice, Alice, where are you?
- 25:59Speaker 1: She falls to her knees and kind of doubles over Alice.
- 26:02Speaker 1: She starts to cry. The window behind her cracks what
- 26:07Speaker 1: We cut to a silhouette of Lane on a black,
- 26:11Speaker 1: red and purple screen with like colors morphing, and she says,
- 26:15Speaker 1: where are you? Alice? She turns, and then we get
- 26:17Speaker 1: a close up shot of her mouth and it looks
- 26:19Speaker 1: like she smiles, and I still don't know what that means.
- 26:22Speaker 1: We go to black back from Black, Lane is hugging
- 26:26Speaker 1: her knees somewhere outside on the school grounds, like leaning
- 26:30Speaker 1: against a door on some steps She's crying, which is
- 26:35Speaker 1: just what she's doing all episode, which sucks, and she says,
- 26:39Speaker 1: what did I What did I do? What did I do?
- 26:42Speaker 1: In the wired she's shaking. What's the other being doing
- 26:46Speaker 1: while I'm sitting here? She lifts her head and then
- 26:48Speaker 1: looks down at her phone and she sees Alice's message
- 26:52Speaker 1: that says, you know, don't mind the rumors open on it,
- 26:54Speaker 1: and she's just kind of softly crying to herself. Then
- 26:58Speaker 1: she lifts her phone and puts her head down. And
- 27:01Speaker 1: this was weird. So this ball of yellow light just
- 27:04Speaker 1: kind of comes out of her body and like expands
- 27:08Speaker 1: like fire or an explosion or something like around her,
- 27:11Speaker 1: and it like melts the door behind her. What and
- 27:15Speaker 1: this glowing like hot ball of whatever is just pushing
- 27:19Speaker 1: through the gym equipment room, which is I guess what
- 27:21Speaker 1: she was in front of, Like it's an explosion. Then
- 27:24Speaker 1: we see her she stands like dazed and upset and
- 27:27Speaker 1: she's just walking through the fire. What we get to
- 27:31Speaker 1: a screen that says searching. It's like pulsing and beeping
- 27:35Speaker 1: is searching. Then we see a silhouette of an apartment
- 27:37Speaker 1: building and it's night. I want to know what happened
- 27:40Speaker 1: with the explosion whatever. We kind of pull up to
- 27:44Speaker 1: a lit bay window and we see silhouettes of two people,
- 27:49Speaker 1: I guess through curtains, so we're looking in on them,
- 27:53Speaker 1: and one of them is kind of standing over the other,
- 27:55Speaker 1: and then we cut to a finger kind of wiping
- 27:59Speaker 1: or caressing, you know, above someone's lip. I think that
- 28:04Speaker 1: that's how you would describe it. And we see that
- 28:07Speaker 1: that person with the lips is Alice, and it kind
- 28:10Speaker 1: of looks like she's asleep in someone's arms. And I
- 28:14Speaker 1: was having some trouble with this scene figuring out exactly
- 28:16Speaker 1: what was going on, which it should have been pretty
- 28:19Speaker 1: evident immediately, but she's making some noises that I couldn't
- 28:22Speaker 1: tell if they were like she's like passed out and
- 28:26Speaker 1: she's like having a weird dream or not. And we
- 28:31Speaker 1: see that the person who is standing up and wiped
- 28:34Speaker 1: above her lip is that guy who I believe is
- 28:37Speaker 1: a teacher, fuck, and he's looking down at her. Alice
- 28:41Speaker 1: opens her eyes, so she wasn't asleep, and she kind
- 28:44Speaker 1: of inhales and we see a better shot. Now she's
- 28:48Speaker 1: in a chair and the guy is standing behind her
- 28:51Speaker 1: with his arms around her, I guess, and the guy says,
- 28:56Speaker 1: are you sure it's all right for you to be
- 28:57Speaker 1: doing this with a teacher? What? No, it's not all right,
- 29:01Speaker 1: Alice says, no, it's it's not. The guy's like, so,
- 29:05Speaker 1: then why are you doing it? Won't she get into trouble?
- 29:11Speaker 1: I think you'll probably into more trouble, asshole, because you
- 29:15Speaker 1: are an adult and this is a child. What the fuck?
- 29:19Speaker 1: Alice looks up at him and says, because I want to.
- 29:23Speaker 1: She kind of gasps and looks to the side, and
- 29:25Speaker 1: in the reflection of her eye, we can see that
- 29:27Speaker 1: Lane is sitting on the bed, cross legged, smiling. What.
- 29:32Speaker 1: She gasps and turns because yeah, and we see that,
- 29:36Speaker 1: like the guy is gone, and I thought like this
- 29:38Speaker 1: was like a hotel or something. No, this is just
- 29:40Speaker 1: her room. Lene is on her bed, smiling slyly and chuckling.
- 29:44Speaker 1: So it took me the entire scene to be like, oh, okay,
- 29:49Speaker 1: this is her fantasy, and I mean, kids are kids whatever.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Thank god that the teacher is not really involved, but fuck,
- 29:56Speaker 1: And also like fuck, so anyway, Alice is real for
- 30:00Speaker 1: because yeah, you would be. And she turns away and
- 30:04Speaker 1: she's like sweating like a lot, and she slowly removes
- 30:08Speaker 1: her hand from inside her skirt. I'm so sorry, Alice,
- 30:14Speaker 1: and Lane is like, shame on you, Alice. No, say,
- 30:19Speaker 1: do you have any idea who Mizuki? Alice likes? Alice gasps,
- 30:24Speaker 1: Lane smiles. Fuck. Alice slowly moves her eyes to look
- 30:28Speaker 1: at Lane, and Lane continues, and do you have any
- 30:31Speaker 1: idea who she's thinking of when she plays with herself? Fuck?
- 30:36Speaker 1: Alice turns abruptly and says, they were right. It was
- 30:39Speaker 1: you that told everyone, wasn't it The rumors that were
- 30:41Speaker 1: going around the school were true? Lane laughs. Alice is like, Lane,
- 30:46Speaker 1: she stands, You've always been sitting here quietly watching me.
- 30:50Speaker 1: You saw what I didn't want anyone to know about
- 30:52Speaker 1: when I didn't ever want anyone to see what I
- 30:54Speaker 1: was doing here. And that's when I Lane laughs. Alice
- 30:59Speaker 1: is crying now because fuck yeah, I would be too baby,
- 31:02Speaker 1: and she says, tell me it can't be Laane, Tell
- 31:06Speaker 1: me Lane. Lane is just still laughing because this is fun.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Alice is like, you deceived me. We cut to electricity
- 31:14Speaker 1: passing over two wires on a blue sky. Lane is
- 31:18Speaker 1: laying in bed and the electricity is passing through the
- 31:21Speaker 1: wires like right outside her window, and we get a
- 31:24Speaker 1: better shot of her now, and she looks just fucking terrified.
- 31:28Speaker 1: She's gripping her covers really tightly. Her mouth is open wide,
- 31:31Speaker 1: and tears are just running down her face. I'm sorry, Lane.
- 31:35Speaker 1: We cut to the wires and cables like above her head,
- 31:37Speaker 1: and they kind of like morph into like the outside wires,
- 31:42Speaker 1: and then into like a building kind of near the
- 31:44Speaker 1: top of it at the corner, and you can see
- 31:46Speaker 1: the roof. I don't know what that was, and then
- 31:48Speaker 1: it just bursts into whites. We slowly fade into a
- 31:52Speaker 1: disco ball and then the green crosswalk sign and then
- 31:55Speaker 1: wires with electricity again. Lane is in a black place
- 31:59Speaker 1: now and there are all these like wires like wiggling
- 32:02Speaker 1: in front of her, and she's wearing her bear onesie
- 32:04Speaker 1: by the way, which we haven't seen since like episode one.
- 32:07Speaker 1: She has her head in her hands and her shadow
- 32:10Speaker 1: is kind of red and blotchy, and it's kind of
- 32:12Speaker 1: growing and morphing, and then we see her just kind
- 32:15Speaker 1: of superimposed up like in the sky by the high
- 32:19Speaker 1: tension lines, which I thought was super weird. The background
- 32:23Speaker 1: kind of like contracts into a circle and then disappears.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Lene is still there though, and slowly the bare onesie fades,
- 32:31Speaker 1: which is weird, leaving her as this very terrified looking
- 32:35Speaker 1: red and black blotchy form God to black and we
- 32:39Speaker 1: hear her laughing. We fade into her sitting on Alice's
- 32:43Speaker 1: bed in that black place, and we hear Lane say,
- 32:47Speaker 1: who are you? The Lane on the bed which I'll
- 32:50Speaker 1: call Lane to lifts her head amused, Lane says, you're
- 32:55Speaker 1: not me. There's just no way. They're both just floating
- 32:58Speaker 1: in the black now. Lane continues, I'd never do the
- 33:02Speaker 1: kind of things that you've been doing. Lane Two's like, oh,
- 33:05Speaker 1: spare me. Lane says, stop it. Why are you acting
- 33:09Speaker 1: like the part of me I hate? I wish you
- 33:11Speaker 1: would just go away. Yeah, I'm gonna come back to that.
- 33:14Speaker 1: At the end, Lane two starts to laugh again. Lane
- 33:17Speaker 1: looks pissed, and she sort of phases out and then
- 33:20Speaker 1: appears like hovering with her hands around Lane Two's neck.
- 33:25Speaker 1: She's like, I'll kill you. She presses her thumbs into
- 33:28Speaker 1: Lane two's throats, and Lane two just laughs like none
- 33:31Speaker 1: of this is happening, and these flashes of bright white
- 33:34Speaker 1: light start just going off in the darkness. Maybe they're
- 33:37Speaker 1: like camera flashes. I'm not sure. Lane two says, look
- 33:40Speaker 1: at me, I'm committing suicide and she laughs. The flashes stop.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Lane's like, why why are you so warm? Why is it?
- 33:48Speaker 1: Why do I have to feel your body heats? Is
- 33:51Speaker 1: there no escaping you? Lane two's like, but how can you?
- 33:55Speaker 1: I'm Lane just like you are right? Fuck? Lane's like no.
- 34:00Speaker 1: We see her shadowy, blotchy form, like crying for a second,
- 34:03Speaker 1: and she says no. Lane two laughs and fades out.
- 34:07Speaker 1: We now see lots of people flanking that path that
- 34:10Speaker 1: we saw Lane at, you know, when she was in
- 34:12Speaker 1: her classroom daydreaming or whatever was happening. But instead of
- 34:17Speaker 1: no heads but lips, they have heads now. But all
- 34:20Speaker 1: of the heads are Lane heads, and they look really
- 34:23Speaker 1: awkward on all these different sized bodies because they're all
- 34:26Speaker 1: the same size, and they're kind of like making clicking noises,
- 34:29Speaker 1: and the mouths are just kind of opening and closing
- 34:31Speaker 1: like they're chattering. They don't look like they're real. They
- 34:33Speaker 1: look like there's some sort of wind up toys. But
- 34:35Speaker 1: they're on all these people's shoulders. Yay. Lane's like, what
- 34:41Speaker 1: the fuck? What are they a mercury like metallic morphing
- 34:45Speaker 1: blob like appears next her and says, they're all you.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I said, You've always existed in the wire, didn't I. Oh,
- 34:53Speaker 1: it's God, Lane says, yeah, God continues, You're exactly the
- 34:57Speaker 1: same as me. You're omnipresent in the wire forever, wherever
- 35:01Speaker 1: anyone is, wherever they go, you have always been there.
- 35:06Speaker 1: You've watched what they didn't allow any of the others
- 35:08Speaker 1: to see. You've told everyone about it. That's all. It's
- 35:12Speaker 1: the right thing to do. What don't worry. The wired's
- 35:16Speaker 1: information should be shared, right uck. Lane looks horrified, me too.
- 35:22Speaker 1: She looks at the ground and says, all of it
- 35:27Speaker 1: all you've said it's a lie, I hope. So God's like,
- 35:31Speaker 1: why is that, Lane continues, Alice and all the others
- 35:36Speaker 1: they said they saw me in the wired, when I
- 35:38Speaker 1: know it wasn't me. What really matters is that as
- 35:41Speaker 1: long as I'm aware of myself, my true self is
- 35:43Speaker 1: always right here inside me. She runs over to the
- 35:47Speaker 1: people flanking the path and she starts to like push
- 35:49Speaker 1: down the lane dolls and their heads just pop out
- 35:53Speaker 1: like they were never connected to begin with. They're like
- 35:55Speaker 1: attached to like a cylinder that's almost like a neck.
- 35:58Speaker 1: But that was just kind of sitting on their should not,
- 36:01Speaker 1: you know, really attached or anything. She says, you're telling
- 36:05Speaker 1: me that you've been passing off these dupes? Is me
- 36:07Speaker 1: all along? What a load of shit? If I'm really
- 36:10Speaker 1: what you say and I'm just totally deluded, then God says,
- 36:14Speaker 1: then what Lane? Lane continues all their memories of being
- 36:17Speaker 1: seen by Lane. I could perhaps delete that information. God's like,
- 36:22Speaker 1: that's true, give it a try. You're born with that
- 36:26Speaker 1: kind of power inside you. What. Laine looks pretty stressed,
- 36:30Speaker 1: But then we go to a screen that just says
- 36:32Speaker 1: deleting and it's like beeping. We had to wires on
- 36:35Speaker 1: a white sky. Girls walking into the school courtyard. Lane
- 36:40Speaker 1: is walking. She stops and just kind of stares ahead blankly.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Her shadow is weird, but it has weird whitish lines
- 36:49Speaker 1: in it instead of the normal weird blotchy red things.
- 36:52Speaker 1: And we hear Alice say Lane. Lane gasps and looks
- 36:57Speaker 1: really scared because y U. She turns and she sees
- 37:02Speaker 1: all three girls running over to her, giggling. Raca's like Lane,
- 37:07Speaker 1: wait up, Lane thinks, could they really have forgotten. Alice
- 37:11Speaker 1: is giggling as she runs over, and Lane thinks, really,
- 37:16Speaker 1: all three of the girls are like Lane. Lane smiles
- 37:20Speaker 1: and she thinks they really did. She turns Alice. She
- 37:25Speaker 1: starts to step forward, but like she steps out of her,
- 37:30Speaker 1: like something else steps out of her that looks like her,
- 37:34Speaker 1: and she watches herself run to meet them, and she's
- 37:39Speaker 1: like what whatever this is? High fives Alice and then
- 37:43Speaker 1: like grabs her by the arm and they giggle, and
- 37:46Speaker 1: it says, hey, I want to go to Siberia day,
- 37:49Speaker 1: come on, let's go. Jury's like a second. Raca's like
- 37:52Speaker 1: this is unusual. Alice says, sure, we can get changed
- 37:56Speaker 1: at my place again and go from there. The other
- 37:58Speaker 1: Lane says great. They're all just kind of giggling and
- 38:02Speaker 1: Lane is just staring at them as like this. Other
- 38:06Speaker 1: Lane snuggles Alice basically, and she says, hey, Alice, what
- 38:10Speaker 1: do you think I should wear? Lane says, stop it,
- 38:14Speaker 1: I'm over here. It's me. They all just walk past her,
- 38:18Speaker 1: laughing with the other Lane pulling Alice along and Lane's like,
- 38:22Speaker 1: I'm over here. Jerdy says, come on, hurry up. He
- 38:25Speaker 1: is like, hey, wait for me. Lane gasps and starts
- 38:29Speaker 1: to just take these really short, panicky breaths. And she's
- 38:32Speaker 1: doing so, the other Lane enters the frame next to
- 38:34Speaker 1: her and says, that's right, it's just like you said.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Lane is Lane, and I am me. Lane gasps. The
- 38:43Speaker 1: other Lane smirks, and then she just blips out of existence.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Lane gasps again and looks around and it is totally quiet.
- 38:52Speaker 1: She is alone. Basically, the courtyard is gone. It's everything
- 38:57Speaker 1: has been really really overexposed this whole time. Like now
- 39:00Speaker 1: there's just nothing, and she's just on white and the
- 39:03Speaker 1: image slowly fades out. We hear Lane say hello Navi.
- 39:09Speaker 1: We see a computer screen turn blue and it gets
- 39:11Speaker 1: like little water droplet things on it, and Navi says
- 39:15Speaker 1: hello Lane. Lane puts her hand on the computer screen,
- 39:19Speaker 1: and with tears in her eyes, she says, I am me.
- 39:23Speaker 1: I'm the only me, right, and there isn't any other
- 39:27Speaker 1: me but me. A tear slides down her cheek. Isn't
- 39:31Speaker 1: that right? To be continued? And then we go to
- 39:34Speaker 1: the ending theme and that's it. Yeah, Oh my god, okay,
- 39:39Speaker 1: so ah closing thoughts. Wow, Okay, so I really really
- 39:44Speaker 1: really liked this episode. First, I just want to say,
- 39:48Speaker 1: I don't know how much of this is real anymore,
- 39:51Speaker 1: like cause I'm pretty sure that Laane didn't burn down
- 39:55Speaker 1: part of the school, for instance. I'm not even sure
- 40:00Speaker 1: like when she's in the Wired, is she just imagining?
- 40:04Speaker 1: I like don't know what's real at all right now?
- 40:10Speaker 1: Is she just kind of running through scenarios in her
- 40:12Speaker 1: head of what could happen? I said, I wanted to
- 40:15Speaker 1: talk about the part where she says, why are you
- 40:18Speaker 1: acting like the part of me I hate? I thought
- 40:20Speaker 1: that was really interesting, especially because I feel like the
- 40:24Speaker 1: Internet has and I'm sure you agree. It's not like
- 40:27Speaker 1: I'm having like a really interesting thought, but the Internet
- 40:30Speaker 1: has a way to bring out like the absolute worst
- 40:32Speaker 1: in people. I think, mostly because we feel like we
- 40:35Speaker 1: can hide behind a screen and this isn't really real
- 40:38Speaker 1: life even though it is, and we can really hurt people,
- 40:42Speaker 1: like in this situation this other Lane figure did to Alice.
- 40:46Speaker 1: So I mean, it's definitely working as a kind of
- 40:50Speaker 1: metaphor for real situations. But I don't know if Lane
- 40:54Speaker 1: is if this is all really Lane, or if there
- 40:56Speaker 1: really is another force acting as her within the Wired.
- 41:00Speaker 1: I like the whole thing about God saying that information
- 41:04Speaker 1: should be shared, right, I mean, the Internet is there
- 41:07Speaker 1: when you're doing a lot of your most private things,
- 41:11Speaker 1: and the idea that it is just presence and seeing
- 41:15Speaker 1: you at your worst and then turning it back on
- 41:19Speaker 1: you is real fucked up and we should be cognizant
- 41:22Speaker 1: of that. But yeah, I'm just like Wheeling, I'm trying
- 41:28Speaker 1: to figure out how to like process my thoughts on
- 41:30Speaker 1: this and makes sense something is really wrong, I mean, obviously,
- 41:35Speaker 1: so I think in the last episode. I mean, I
- 41:38Speaker 1: know in the last episode, I was talking about, well,
- 41:40Speaker 1: maybe Leanne has dissociative identity disorder, and I was gonna
- 41:43Speaker 1: come into talking about this episode saying and I think
- 41:45Speaker 1: I'm wrong, but now I'm not actually sure anymore. Or
- 41:48Speaker 1: it's kind of like a code switching thing, like she
- 41:52Speaker 1: does not feel like she's being her real self and
- 41:55Speaker 1: she doesn't feel like she can be her real self
- 41:58Speaker 1: around these kids. Maybe, and it's hard when you feel
- 42:04Speaker 1: like you have to put on a show more or
- 42:07Speaker 1: less to get people to like you. And I wonder
- 42:09Speaker 1: if that's what we're trying to communicate here with that
- 42:12Speaker 1: like end scene where she goes off with her friends,
- 42:16Speaker 1: but it's not really her, and she, the real her,
- 42:20Speaker 1: has to just watch all of this and not be accepted. Yeah,
- 42:24Speaker 1: I don't know where I'm going with this. And if
- 42:27Speaker 1: you're listening to this and you're like, wow, Michelle, that
- 42:29Speaker 1: doesn't make any sense, that's fine. It might not make
- 42:32Speaker 1: any sense. I'm thinking of this as I'm doing this,
- 42:35Speaker 1: But hopefully we'll find out, like how much of this
- 42:39Speaker 1: is really her? Because I mean, what we're being told
- 42:43Speaker 1: is that she's basically god. I mean, she didn't create
- 42:46Speaker 1: the Wired, but she is this omnipresent force and she's
- 42:51Speaker 1: responsible for a lot of shit. It's not great, But
- 42:55Speaker 1: how does that make sense? She's just a fucking teenager.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Teenagers can't be gods, I don't think so. Yeah, it
- 43:05Speaker 1: could be that everyone is lying to her too, but
- 43:08Speaker 1: I'm starting not to feel that way. I'm really worried
- 43:11Speaker 1: about the way her parents are treating her. They obviously
- 43:14Speaker 1: know things. I mean, we've known her dad knows things
- 43:16Speaker 1: from the beginning, But what do they know and why
- 43:21Speaker 1: are they making no attempt to help when she's clearly
- 43:23Speaker 1: having a crisis. Also, just from a like a my standpoint,
- 43:28Speaker 1: the idea of having somebody act like you but not
- 43:32Speaker 1: be you, and like stuff is really upsetting to me,
- 43:36Speaker 1: so I get it. And the idea of like not
- 43:39Speaker 1: understanding or not knowing what makes you you and that
- 43:43Speaker 1: something else could be more you than you are is
- 43:48Speaker 1: I don't know, really interesting and kind of upsetting. So
- 43:52Speaker 1: I just feel really bad for Lane, and I wish
- 43:54Speaker 1: I could hug her and make the Internet go away
- 43:57Speaker 1: so that she could live a happy, normal life or something.
- 44:00Speaker 1: I'm not sure, but it worries me that she was
- 44:03Speaker 1: able to delete all of that information, with all of
- 44:06Speaker 1: the peeping and stuff, unless that didn't happen at all.
- 44:12Speaker 1: At this point, I have no way to prove that
- 44:13Speaker 1: anything has happened. I mean, I don't know if the
- 44:17Speaker 1: whole thing with her lab exploding happened, or I don't
- 44:21Speaker 1: know if any of this stuff is happening. So hopefully
- 44:24Speaker 1: I figure that out and we figure that out. And
- 44:27Speaker 1: this isn't so confusing because it sounds like I don't
- 44:29Speaker 1: know what I'm saying to myself at least. So yeah,
- 44:33Speaker 1: I hope you're enjoying this. If you're not, I'm really sorry.
- 44:37Speaker 1: If you are enjoying it, yay, let's do a little
- 44:40Speaker 1: high five. Ready, set Yay, we did it. So yeah,
- 44:46Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm doing next. We have five
- 44:48Speaker 1: episodes of this left. I'm considering taking the summer off
- 44:52Speaker 1: to just like cry and stuff, but I'm not sure yet.
- 44:57Speaker 1: If you have any ideas and you want to tell
- 44:58Speaker 1: me what to do, I don't know. But yeah, so
- 45:02Speaker 1: that's what's going on. Lane is all distressed and maybe
- 45:07Speaker 1: she's destroying the world or not, she's at least destroying
- 45:11Speaker 1: herself and that's something I guess. Anyway, I'm gonna go
- 45:18Speaker 1: work on my mosaic and try to fix it, and
- 45:21Speaker 1: I hope that you have a really good whatever, and
- 45:25Speaker 1: uh yeah, I will be here next week unless you
- 45:29Speaker 1: know the bad things yep. Later weeves
