- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: They have a tensile town location and over at race track in San Jose right now.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about my AFC standings.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: We're doing AFC right now just to kind of focus in on the jackwars actual conference and then
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: we can end up doing a full NFL power ranking before the start of the season, which we've now got way less than, I mean, basically half a month, 16 days until training camp gets kicked off for the Jaguars, preseason is right behind that and then the regular, I mean, it's two months, two months till regular season football.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: We are getting their folks very exciting.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, we'll focus in on the AFC today and then we will eventually do a full NFL power ranking.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: NFL power rankings don't really matter as much as because at least in my mind that really only matters.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: for the Super Bowl, like who's the best team?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to making the playoffs, when it comes to actually winning in the playoffs, like figuring out who the best teams in your conference are, I think, is a little bit more important and a little bit more of a focus to exercise.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna do that.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in supporting the channel.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll check out Janjag.com, pick up some new dooval gear.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that hype button and if you want to you can drop your AFC power rankings in the comment section We can discuss that for sure So we're gonna go from 16 to one the jackboards are a lot close to one and they are to 16 I can tell you that much, but I do not have them at one So let's get into it.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: I have the dolphins.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: So I do kind of have a tier group here of these teams
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: I have the Dolphins, Titans, Raiders, and Browns as the bottom tier of the AFC.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: The Dolphins are in a rebuilding year.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: They do have some pieces that they have put together, but overall I think very much there.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: First year of a new regime, they're in a rebuilding year.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: There's no question about that.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I have them there and then the Titans are
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: a very young team in their own right and they have a new regime as well, I think that they've put together some pieces like when you look at NFL roster, every roster has some good players, there's no doubt about it.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously for the Titans, most of what happens here is going to be dependent on the development by the coaching staff of Cam Ward and Cam Ward's own personal development and what they surrounded him with,
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Cornel Tade, a big time pick for them.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: They need him to show out, and I think him and Cam Ward will have a good chemistry in all likelihood.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: But still, there's just a lot unsettled about the Titans roster in my opinion.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: And coaching staff, I mean, it doesn't look like an elite coaching staff in my opinion.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: Las Vegas Raiders.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: First year of a rebuild, tempted to put them higher, but when you look at the quarterback situation, obviously you have your Fernando Mendoza, but he's probably not going to be playing for a while, Kirk Cousins.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that doesn't get you super excited.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: The Raiders,
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think have a chance to vault themselves higher than this because they have like legitimate superstar talent, Brock Bowers, Ashton, Gentie.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think Fernando Mendoza is going to be a really good quarterback whenever he finally hits the field.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know when that's going to be.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I love Clint Kubiak.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think he is just such a stud when it comes to play calling in the NFL.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: And then I have the browns here.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: The browns are a little bit higher than a couple of these teams because I can I can look at the browns defense and say I still think that's an elite defense like I know you lose miles Garrett, but Jared versus not a bad consolation prize whatsoever.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it's
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: a huge drop off.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: No question, but Jared versus still a really good player.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: And you look at their off-ball linebacker spots.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they went and got Quincy Williams former Jaguar Carson Svetchenger was an amazing rookie.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: They've just still got a lot when it comes to the secondary upfront as well.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: Jared versus a good lead pass pressure.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: Mason Graham and Malik Collins can both get pressure on the interior.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: I still think that you look at that defense again, especially in the back
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: all the way to safety with Denzel Ward, Grant Delpit, Tyson Campbell playing good football.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: The Adam manual will make me more worn in the drafts too.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: I still think that's going to be a really good group.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: I like what they did with their offense, just talent-wise and the draft.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Adding Spencer Fano, of course, you can substitute and Denzel Boston early on, and some other guys I like later, too.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Austin Barbra at a Florida, we talked a lot about leading up to this.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Royer, Parker Brailsford, it's really just the fact that the quarterback situation is very unsettling, is why I have the Browns at 13.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: The Todd Munkin experience as a head coach is an unproven kind of test.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: We just have not seen Todd Munkin as a head coach at this level or really, I mean, he's mostly just been an offensive coordinator in his career.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then I have what I would kind of call the middle class of the AFC and it's funny because they're below the middle.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: You would think I would think these teams are below average, but I just think they're middle class teams.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: The Steelers at 12, the Jets at 11, the Colts at 10.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: The jets should be a team that should have tried to tank, but I feel like what they did with their roster this offseason was made themselves very, very mediocre.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think they're going to finish somewhere around this area in the final standings.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: They're too good to be a bad team, but they're not good enough to be a good team, right?
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of how I look at it, especially in this AFC.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think they could be competitive pretty much weekend and week out, but I just don't really see the path to being a really good team or a really bad team for the jets.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: The Steelers I had at 12, look, they've still got talent.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: I just think that the Mike McCarthy Airn Rogers,
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's going to yield like insanely good results.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: I do think, you know, Michael Pittman's a good player.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: They went and got Jeremy Bernardo's well.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: DK Metcalf's still a talent on the outside.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: I like their young offensive line for the most part.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: The defense still has a ton of talent.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: Really added some good talent on defense.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: When you talk about Jekwann Brisker, Jamel Dean, Sebastian Joseph Day,
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I think, again, a middle class team.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then the cults, like they were one of the hottest teams in NFL to start the year last year, I still think that Shane Steiken is an incredible coach.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have a lot of confidence in Daniel Jones.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: That whole experiment, honestly, I just don't see it.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think losing Pitman is a net loss for them overall, but you're gonna see a lot more Josh Downs, a lot of Alec Pierce as well.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: They added Nick Westbrook, Keena, who is like, somebody who I think can,
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: do some Michael Pittman things, not the same player for sure.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: They have a pretty talented defense overall.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like I said, I think it's a middle-class team.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: Really good coach on the offense and defense, really.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you have Shane Steiken, Jim Bob Cooter, and Lou and Arramo.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a really good group.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: But again, Daniel Jones just holds me back from putting them up in the next year.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then you get to,
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: the top nine.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think the top nine teams in the AFC, I give you a fan of any of these teams, they could legitimately stake a claim to like make the AFC title game or even win the AFC.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I have the Chargers at nine, the Texans at eight, the Bengals at seven, the Ravens, this is all one tier.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: Well, actually it's two tiers, but both tiers I do think could compete for the AFC title.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: Chargers, Texans, Bengals,
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: Ravens and Chiefs are the next tier.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's a pretty big tier.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's five teams right there.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: Look, the Chiefs and Ravens, I think either one of them could get back to their former glory, it just was a little bit of a down year for those two squads for different reasons.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: Patrick Mahomes though, for the Chiefs coming back is a huge deal.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that they did a lot to kind of secure things with that roster.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think the defensive line looks really good for them.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: And they went and they addressed the corner back position early and often this this off season.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, when got man sort of laying with their first round pick, they have Christian Fulton still, they still have no Williams, they brought back luxurious knee, they brought incier, e-limbs and former really big names.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I think it's all about man sort of laying in no Williams kind of taking that step and I think that they will I think those those are good players Um, up front going and getting our Mason Thomas and Peter Woods in the draft.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: You have Omar Norman lot coming back.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: I really like those moves.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think getting Tonga as well at the defensive tackle spot was a big deal.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that they're they're in a good spot.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Um, overall the the biggest question really is where she writes like what are you going to get there?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, that's a tough one.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that getting Kenneth Walker to compliment this backfield in this offense, I think was pretty smart by them.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I have the chiefs at five, the Ravens at six.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: Bingo's Texans Chargers.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: The Bingo's having a lead offense, I think that they did a good amount of work on the defensive side of the ball to take steps there.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: The Texans at eight, again,
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about them a lot.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: I have questions about the offense.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: The defense looks insane though.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: And the offense has legitimate talent.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's no doubting the talent on the offense.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: You do have some question marks still on the offensive line, but there's a lot of talent in Houston.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: The chargers I have at nine just behind those teams, even though like,
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: I like a lot of what they have going on.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's just the chargers are snake bit, man, with the offensive line injuries last year.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like the bottom always falls out somehow for the chargers, which just really stinks.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: Can't stand that for them.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: But it seems like they've addressed the offensive line a good bit in terms of depth and adding some pieces on the interior.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: Something always happens, though.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, I feel like their defense of front isn't as strong as you would probably like it either overall.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: You completely honest, Khalil Mack is up there for sure in years.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: But I still think that they were team that, you know, if they get the ground game going and the play action game going with with Justin Herbert, they could really make noise in the AFC.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: and then the Ravens.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: new coaching staff.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's probably going to be a good thing, but kind of unproven as a from the head coach, the offensive coordinator, all these different things.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so that's my group in the AFC that I think can make the AFC title game to potentially even win the AFC, but I have a top four that's my top tier in the AFC right now.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: and the bills at one.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: Look, the bills beat the jaguars in the playoffs.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: The jaguars did some things to beat themselves in that game.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: The bills also did some really good things in that game, and they have Josh Allen under center still.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: What the reason I have the bills holding off the jaguars for now, I think adding DJ Moore was huge.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think that adding Bradley
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think Deon Walker could potentially take another step on the interior.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: I really liked some of their draft as well.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: When you look at adding Skylar Bell in the fourth round, I thought he was such a steal.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: They have a good offensive line, great running game, great quarterback, good defense.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're actually going to be upgrading, getting Jim Leonard as defensive coordinator, Joe Brady as the head coach now.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: I just have them at number one.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they were the best team in the F.C.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: last year and they got, you know, unfortunate luck in the playoffs with a couple of things and then Josh Allen and James Cook on characteristically just like deciding to let go of the football in that game.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I still have them at one.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Wars at two ahead of the Broncos, look, we saw those teams go ahead to head last year.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to see them go ahead ahead again this year.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: The jacks won't see the bills unless they seem in the playoffs, which is very possible.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, the reason I have the Jacks ahead of the Broncos is because that game is a big part of it.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like the Jaguars beat down the Broncos in Denver, it was a really impressive win.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have a very balanced overall team.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: They're really good on offense, really good on defense, really good on special teams.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the combination of Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence is a better combination than Sean Payton and Bonix.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: Bonix is also coming off a big injury and you also have the fact that
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently Sean Payton isn't calling plays.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: We've seen that story before.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like the way that's going honestly.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: Now, do I think Sean Payton would take over play calling duty and all likelihood if he didn't feel like Davis Webb was getting the job done?
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: Still, I don't love that.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: I do love, you know, the fact that they went and got Jalen Water, that was an unbelievable move like to get Jalen Water is great.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the Jack Wars were better than the Broncos last year.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos add Jalen Waddle, guess who the Jaguars didn't have when they were playing?
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: The Denver Broncos last year.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter, right?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: So I think Travis Hunter vs Jalen Waddle is getting your popcorn ready, no doubt about that.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's exciting.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: Broncos have a really good defense, but I think that the Jaguars offense was quite frankly, just too much for them.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: There's too many weapons.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos did lose John Franklin Myers who I thought was a really big part of what they were doing last year.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: You also have, I'm not sure exactly what's going to go on with Jonathan Cooper with his legal situation.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're, I think all of the top nine teams in the AFC are really good teams.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think this top four grouping is really good teams, but I have to jackwards ahead of the Broncos, because I think from the time both of these teams
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: But the Jaguars were the better team last year, clearly.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I've got the Jags ahead of the Broncos.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: And then the Patriots, to me, a lot of people kind of are writing them off as, you know, they have this easy schedule, they're not as good as they, well, they got better too.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the addition of AJ Brown is a legitimate edition, adding Caleb low move.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think his legitimate edition, Will Campbell was injured down the stretch last year.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think he will play better than he was playing.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, Romeo Dobbs to me,
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's great to add more receiving depth.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily think he's like hands down a lot but better than Keshon Booty.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like Keshon Booty's a pretty good player for them.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: But they are losing at least at this point to find digs.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: who win targeted last year was good for them.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: But Drake made really good young player overall.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: I just think that they've got a lot of good ingredients.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a good defense, you know, Milton Williams and Christian Barmore up front is pretty nasty.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: Drainmont Jones is an underrated player.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: Gave back as they drafted.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: I really like that draft pick, but he came in with some sort of lingering injury.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: So, not sure how healthy he is at this point,
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: You look at their secondary.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis is a great outside corner back combo, Marcus Jones at Nickel.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: Craig Woodson, you go ad Kevin Byrd, who can still play.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's been a Jaguar killer throughout his career.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: These two teams will play early on and we'll get a good idea of how things are looking between these two teams and jackwares versus Broncos too early on.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: So you'll get to see that stuff.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: You won't get to see jackwares versus bills, but this top four, I think, you'll get an idea at least how these teams are playing early on.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't have much bearing on later in the season on the playoffs, but it'll give you a little bit of a litmus test early for the jackwares.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: See in the Broncos and Patriots.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: very early on pulling up the schedule here, they play the
- 17:28[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, in the first four games, they play both of these things.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: They play, they start with Cleveland at home and then they're at Denver and then they have New England and Jacksonville.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: So weeks two and three and then really even week four, you're going to get to see the Bengals.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be a nice stretch to really have your team tested early on.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: It matters more what you're doing down the stretch than it does early on, but you want to get off to a hot start because you want to, I mean, I think the Jaguar should be
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: aiming to win their division and aiming to try to get as much home-filled advantage in the playoffs as they possibly can.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: In order to do that, beating two of the top teams in the AFC Denver in New England, in my opinion, and then also, since Anati, who is certainly a playoff contender, I think would go a long way towards getting off to a good start.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: But that's where I'm at with the AFC standings.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: AFC power rankings, I should say, let me know how you're feeling about it in the comment section below.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have good one.
