• 3:08
Speaker 2: Angie Gillenwater from the Cannaal Charleston Humaine Association with this
• 3:11
Speaker 2: week's Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week. Good morning, Angie.
• 3:15
Speaker 5: Good morning. Why's from New Jersey the Adopt Me Please
• 3:18
Speaker 5: pet of the Week.
• 3:19
Speaker 2: So why are you in New Jersey?
• 3:23
Speaker 5: So there is a pet cot in Middletown, New Jersey
• 3:25
Speaker 5: that has a whole adoption center in it. So I
• 3:29
Speaker 5: transported some of West Virginia's finest brown dogs up here
• 3:33
Speaker 5: to be adopted and infiltrate New Jersey.
• 3:37
Speaker 2: They need a little bit more West Virginia culture there
• 3:39
  Speaker 2: in Jersey.
• 3:40
Speaker 5: Right, correct, they do?
• 3:42
Speaker 2: All right? So I've never been to New Jersey. Okay,
• 3:44
Speaker 2: just so you know, I've never been there. However, I've
• 3:46
Speaker 2: got friends that are from New Jersey and they tell
• 3:49
Speaker 2: me that Jersey cuisine is actually pretty good. For the
• 3:52
Speaker 2: pizzas and the subs and so on and so forth.
• 3:54
Speaker 2: Have you had any anything good to eat since you've
• 3:56
  Speaker 2: been there?
• 3:58
Speaker 5: I have been eating great every day that I've been here.
• 4:01
Speaker 5: I've been here since Monday, and I'm kind of like
• 4:03
Speaker 5: I miss home, but I do not miss the food
• 4:05
  Speaker 5: from home.
• 4:05
Speaker 2: Are what's the best thing you've had? What's the best
• 4:07
  Speaker 2: thing you've had?
• 4:09
Speaker 5: We had a pretty good I don't know what Jersey
• 4:11
Speaker 5: does for their bagels, but we had a pretty good
• 4:14
Speaker 5: breakfast that The bagels were just out of this world.
• 4:17
Speaker 2: All right, it sounds good. I do love I do
• 4:19
Speaker 2: love a good bagel. All right, let's get to this week.
• 4:21
Speaker 2: Sodop me please bet of the week from the Cannaw
• 4:23
Speaker 2: Charsty Main Association. His name is Captain Hook. As always.
• 4:27
Speaker 2: Picture posted Dave Allen Radio on Facebook at Dave A
• 4:30
Speaker 2: seventy on xton on the WCCHS network Facebook page, tell
• 4:33
Speaker 2: us Angie about Captain Hook.
• 4:37
Speaker 5: So Captain Hook came to Kha with his mom and
• 4:40
Speaker 5: his litter mates. They are all still available for adoption.
• 4:43
Speaker 5: They were just strays that were dumped on some lady.
• 4:47
Speaker 5: She got him to us. We got everybody vaccinated, six
• 4:51
Speaker 5: D worms, D FLEAD and microchip. So he is ready
• 4:55
Speaker 5: to go home as soon as you say yes. But
• 4:58
  Speaker 5: I don't know how much I can say about a
• 5:01
Speaker 5: puppy because they're puppies, they're resties with everybody. They fit
• 5:04
Speaker 5: for just about every lifestyle.
• 5:06
Speaker 2: So what kind of dog is it?
• 5:10
Speaker 5: So he West Virginia brown dogs. I would say it's
• 5:13
Speaker 5: probably like a retriever mix of sorts. His mom certainly
• 5:16
Speaker 5: favors like a retriever type of look, so we'll just
• 5:19
  Speaker 5: go with that.
• 5:19
Speaker 2: Do I want to ask why you named the dog
• 5:23
  Speaker 2: Captain Hook?
• 5:25
Speaker 5: So they are all named So mom's name is Meggan
• 5:30
Speaker 5: the Stallion, and they're all named after make the Stallion songs.
• 5:33
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, one day you'll explain to me what
• 5:37
Speaker 2: or who a Meg thee Stallion is?
• 5:38
Speaker 5: Right, I don't know if you want to find out,
• 5:43
  Speaker 5: all right?
• 5:43
Speaker 2: Captain Hook's picture again posted Dave Island Radio and Facebook,
• 5:46
Speaker 2: also the WHS network Facebook page and at Dave seventy
• 5:50
Speaker 2: on x Angie. Tickets are still on sale for Texas
• 5:52
Speaker 2: and Tails Saturday night, April twenty fifth, seven o'clock at
• 5:55
Speaker 2: jq Dickets and Saltworks and Malden. But they are going quickly, They.
• 6:00
Speaker 5: Are going quickly. We're selling more and more each day.
• 6:02
Speaker 5: I know last week you heard me say over half
• 6:05
Speaker 5: of the tickets had been sold. I think we're reaching
• 6:07
Speaker 5: like the seventy five percent mark, So definitely get them
• 6:11
Speaker 5: if you plan on coming to Texas and tails get
• 6:13
Speaker 5: them as thin as possible.
• 6:15
Speaker 2: Talking with Angie Gilman Water again from the Gonnal Charleston
• 6:17
Speaker 2: Humaine Association with Dave Allen Shell on five eighty Live,
• 6:19
Speaker 2: brought to you in part by Morgan and Morgan, America's
• 6:21
Speaker 2: largest injury law firm. And how are the numbers looking
• 6:25
Speaker 2: at the shelter, Angie, So we are.
• 6:28
Speaker 5: Filling up very quickly on puppies, which is crazy because
• 6:31
Speaker 5: typically puppies get it opted pretty quickly. Puppies are full,
• 6:36
Speaker 5: adult dogs are full. Cats are still manageable. So keep
• 6:39
Speaker 5: it opting the cats and just go ahead and pick
• 6:41
Speaker 5: up an adult dog and a puppy while you're there
• 6:43
  Speaker 5: as well.
• 6:43
Speaker 2: And I will want to make sure too that people
• 6:45
Speaker 2: realize and you and I talk about this every week.
• 6:48
Speaker 2: I mean, you need you want people to adopt these
• 6:50
Speaker 2: lovely dogs, cats, whatever other critters you have up there,
• 6:54
Speaker 2: like people to consider it to be fosters. Okay, but
• 6:57
Speaker 2: sometimes if you could just and especially now that the
• 7:00
Speaker 2: weather is getting better, if you could just volunteer your
• 7:03
Speaker 2: time to say I want to come up and play
• 7:05
Speaker 2: with the dogs, or take a dog or two out
• 7:08
Speaker 2: for a date for the day to a park, or
• 7:11
Speaker 2: even if you walk them around up there. Whatever. Those
• 7:13
Speaker 2: kinds of volunteers Angie can can do so much to help.
• 7:18
Speaker 5: Absolutely. I understand being at like max capacity for pests,
• 7:22
Speaker 5: and I also understand not every living situation will allow
• 7:25
Speaker 5: for pets in the home, which is why volunteering is
• 7:27
Speaker 5: such an important way to help us. Like you said,
• 7:30
Speaker 5: you mentioned a couple great ways to volunteer. If you
• 7:33
Speaker 5: don't want to get out, if you don't want to
• 7:34
Speaker 5: be you know, on your feet all day and active,
• 7:37
Speaker 5: we have activities up at the shelter you can help
• 7:39
Speaker 5: us out with, like prepping enrichment for the dogs, which
• 7:43
Speaker 5: you know helps their mental health. It's required every day
• 7:46
Speaker 5: for one hundred and some dogs in our care, so
• 7:48
Speaker 5: we can certainly use help with that. And if you
• 7:51
Speaker 5: don't have the spare time to volunteer, which I completely
• 7:54
Speaker 5: understand too as someone who's pretty busy, donating supplies that
• 7:59
Speaker 5: we need. Alls is extremely helpful for.
• 8:01
Speaker 2: Us, and I was very happy a couple of days
• 8:03
Speaker 2: ago when I did the show on Wednesday, I had
• 8:05
Speaker 2: Tim Brady from the Charleston CVB on and Tim was
• 8:09
Speaker 2: talking about the upcoming bike event which will be this
• 8:13
Speaker 2: June in Charleston, and among the charities that are going
• 8:16
Speaker 2: to be helping out are you folks at CANA Charleston
• 8:18
Speaker 2: New Main Association. So I thought that was really really
• 8:20
  Speaker 2: good news.
• 8:22
Speaker 5: Yes, we look forward to that event every year. It's
• 8:24
Speaker 5: always really fun to see everyone like rolling in with
• 8:26
Speaker 5: their supplies. So we love that event and it's always
• 8:30
Speaker 5: really good day at the shelter. We get stocked up
• 8:32
Speaker 5: on supplies and usually everyone will hang around and say
• 8:35
Speaker 5: hi to the sheltered dogs and cats.
• 8:38
Speaker 2: We had a text here said are you folks in
• 8:40
Speaker 2: need of anything extra since it's kitten season again?
• 8:44
Speaker 5: Kitten season anyway, Sorry, it just took my breath away.
• 8:48
Speaker 5: So Lenen's are always great. Heating pads, kitten formula, kitten
• 8:54
Speaker 5: food like wet food, hard food. And then also you
• 8:59
Speaker 5: wouldn't think of about it, but like very small, teeny
• 9:01
Speaker 5: tiny little bottles. We use those for kittens but you know,
• 9:05
Speaker 5: maybe don't have a mama. Also, scales, thermometers, pretty much
• 9:09
Speaker 5: any type of medical supplies we will use during the
• 9:11
  Speaker 5: upcoming kitten season.
• 9:13
Speaker 2: You guys out and about anywhere this weekend. I know
• 9:15
Speaker 2: you're in New Jersey, but I mean the rest of
• 9:17
Speaker 2: the team out anywhere.
• 9:19
Speaker 5: The rest of the team is not out because I'm
• 9:21
  Speaker 5: in New Jersey.
• 9:22
Speaker 2: Oh okay, I got you, I got you, I got you?
• 9:25
Speaker 2: All right, Angie? As always, how long are you going
• 9:27
Speaker 2: to be up there? Are you're gonna come back and
• 9:28
Speaker 2: join us at some point? Right forever?
• 9:31
Speaker 5: Actually right? I don't think I could stay up here forever. Anyways,
• 9:36
Speaker 5: I will be on my way home this afternoon, so
• 9:38
Speaker 5: hopefully by nightfall I'll be back in West Virginia.
• 9:41
Speaker 2: All right, all right, Angie, Well go grab a bagel
• 9:44
Speaker 2: if you would for me. I like I like the bagels, uh,
• 9:47
Speaker 2: with the with the cream cheese, or I like the
• 9:49
Speaker 2: everything bagels. You're seeing everything bagel. Just have one and
• 9:52
  Speaker 2: think of me.
• 9:53
Speaker 6: Okay, I absolutely will, all right.
• 9:56
Speaker 2: Angie gelling Water Canaw Charleston main association with this week's
• 9:58
Speaker 2: Adopt Me Please of the Week. It's Captain Hook is
• 10:02
Speaker 2: our dog this week. He's about two months old, and
• 10:06
  Speaker 2: I understand what Angie's saying. It's hard to place a
• 10:09
Speaker 2: personality yet on a two month old dog. I mean
• 10:12
Speaker 2: because their personality is still forming classic WESTERNINGI and brown dog.
• 10:16
Speaker 2: Maybe a little bit of a Retriever in him. Good
• 10:18
Speaker 2: looking dog. He's already neutered, he's already vaccinated, he is
• 10:22
Speaker 2: already de wormed, and he is ready to go. It
• 10:25
Speaker 2: is a beautiful, beautiful dog. I've got his picture posted

• 10:40
Speaker 2: do these features every week, sometimes the folks at the
• 10:42
Speaker 2: shelter are so busy. I tried to stay in contact
• 10:45
Speaker 2: with him a couple times a week, but it doesn't
• 10:46
Speaker 2: always work out that way. If you are one of

Speaker 2: like it. And that is happening on Monday. But anyway,
• 14:24
Speaker 2: I walk through the halls here and I hear people
• 14:26
Speaker 2: talking about certain artists. If it came, if it happened
• 14:29
Speaker 2: after nineteen ninety two, chances all right, I don't know it,
• 14:31
Speaker 2: but I had heard the word of Megan the Stallion.
• 14:33
Speaker 2: So that's our adopt me please part of the week. Apparently,
• 14:37
Speaker 2: Captain Hook is a song by Megan thee Stallion. I
• 14:39
Speaker 2: learned that from Angie today and from Ryan, Thank you
• 14:41
Speaker 2: so much. Twenty fourth Annual West Virginia Fishing, Hunting and
• 14:44
Speaker 2: out Door Sports Show happening tomorrow and Sunday, Miland Park
• 14:46
Speaker 2: and Morgantown, presented by can Am Kelly. One of the
• 14:49
Speaker 2: ladies I've dubbed is the Fun Girls along with Rachelle
• 14:52
Speaker 2: joins us now to talk about it. Good morning, Welcome
• 14:55
  Speaker 2: to the show.
• 14:57
Speaker 6: Good morning, Dave. I'm sorry you're getting the lesser half
• 14:59
  Speaker 6: of the d.
• 15:01
  Speaker 1: Not at all.
• 15:02
Speaker 2: I'm gonna have both of you, I think. I think
• 15:04
Speaker 2: today on Metro News midday around twelve thirty, we're gonna
• 15:06
Speaker 2: try to have both of you on there.
• 15:07
Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll both be on this.
• 15:09
Speaker 2: Do we have really since I gave you all that
• 15:12
Speaker 2: name a couple of years ago, The Fun Girls. I
• 15:14
Speaker 2: need to get with my man Steve Animal here in
• 15:17
Speaker 2: the building and get some T shirts made, some glittery
• 15:19
Speaker 2: T shirts that said the Fun Girls.
• 15:21
Speaker 6: Absolutely we would wear them with pride.
• 15:24
Speaker 2: All right. So you got your last minute planning going
• 15:27
Speaker 2: on right now, and I know it's a busy, busy time.
• 15:30
Speaker 2: I appreciate you taking time at our schedule to join
• 15:33
Speaker 2: us talk overall about this huge events. What's new this year?
• 15:37
Speaker 6: So this year is our twenty fourth annual Fishing, Hunting,
• 15:40
Speaker 6: Outdoor Sports Show, and it is what it says. It
• 15:43
Speaker 6: is everything outdoors. It's not just fishing, it's not just hunting,
• 15:47
Speaker 6: it's not just outdoor sports. It's all of it combined.
• 15:49
Speaker 6: And so we try to make that into a big
• 15:52
Speaker 6: family event because we don't want you to come without
• 15:55
Speaker 6: your family thinking it's not for them, because there's literally
• 15:58
Speaker 6: something for everyone here.
• 16:00
Speaker 2: And I think with the winter Kelly that we've had,
• 16:02
Speaker 2: people are just dying to get outside right now, or
• 16:04
Speaker 2: get anywhere for that matter.
• 16:06
Speaker 6: Absolutely, I was dying. I'm dying to get outside right now.
• 16:09
Speaker 6: So yeah, we got vendors moving in right now. And
• 16:12
Speaker 6: you know, it's it's very nice. It's not raining yet,
• 16:16
Speaker 6: but the weather has warmed up, and we just want
• 16:18
Speaker 6: everybody to get excited about going back outside.
• 16:22
Speaker 2: And you know, this is this event happens in Morgantown,
• 16:25
Speaker 2: and I had a chance to attend a couple of
• 16:27
Speaker 2: years in a row, and I was surprised at because
• 16:30
Speaker 2: you think about, Okay, well this is that's in Morgantown, Okay,
• 16:34
Speaker 2: and you think it's going to be a northern West
• 16:35
Speaker 2: Virginia thing. I was totally shocked when I got up
• 16:38
Speaker 2: there and I saw so many people from the Charleston area.
• 16:41
Speaker 2: I saw so many people from Beckley that I knew.
• 16:44
Speaker 2: I saw so many people from all over southern West
• 16:46
Speaker 2: Virginia that I knew as well. People make the trip
• 16:49
  Speaker 2: for this thing.
• 16:50
Speaker 6: Oh, absolutely, they come from all over the country. We
• 16:53
Speaker 6: have people coming down from Canada. We have people from
• 16:56
Speaker 6: South Africa coming, so we just have people from all over,
• 16:59
Speaker 6: but we really do represent our state well here. We
• 17:02
Speaker 6: have lots of local vendors, so we want you to
• 17:04
Speaker 6: come show them some love.
• 17:05
Speaker 2: And it's at Myland Park in Morgantown, which if you
• 17:07
Speaker 2: haven't had an opportunity to visit, that is a wonderful facility.
• 17:11
Speaker 6: It is, and it's ginormous and we have every square
• 17:15
Speaker 6: inch filled with stuff for anybody.
• 17:17
Speaker 2: And that's over one hundred thousand square feet we're talking about, Okay,
• 17:21
Speaker 2: so that's a lot of square footage, yes.
• 17:23
Speaker 6: And they are packing it in now. I'm just watching
• 17:26
Speaker 6: vendor after vendor walk through our door, getting ready for
• 17:29
Speaker 6: everybody to come see us this weekend.
• 17:30
Speaker 2: And what are your hours there tomorrow and Sunday.
• 17:33
Speaker 6: On Saturday we start at nine, we close at seven,
• 17:36
Speaker 6: and on Sunday we start at nine and we close
• 17:39
  Speaker 6: down at four.
• 17:40
Speaker 2: And I do want to give you a little programming
• 17:42
Speaker 2: note here. Chris Lawrence, we'll be doing West Virginia Outdoors
• 17:45
Speaker 2: live from there tomorrow morning's seven oh six, and then
• 17:47
Speaker 2: he's going to do an expanded live broadcast from ten
• 17:50
Speaker 2: until noon on our sister station in Morgantown, WAJR be
• 17:53
Speaker 2: a great time to our mind folks, Kelly to download
• 17:56
Speaker 2: the WVRC Media app and that way all of our
• 17:58
Speaker 2: stations are on there, so you can actually, you know,
• 18:00
Speaker 2: you can hear the normal show, but you can also
• 18:02
Speaker 2: hear Chris live on WAJR. He does a similar thing
• 18:05
Speaker 2: when we have the Hounting and Fishing show here in
• 18:06
Speaker 2: Charleston here on WCCHS, but he's doing this one on WAJR.
• 18:10
Speaker 2: And so you may want to download that WVRC Media
• 18:13
Speaker 2: app and that way you can listen to everything up there.
• 18:15
Speaker 2: We're talking to Kelly again about the Westernian Fishing, Hunting
• 18:19
Speaker 2: and Outdoor Sports Show presented by can AM tomorrow and
• 18:22
Speaker 2: Sunday at Miland Park in Morgantown. What's your YEA, I
• 18:25
Speaker 2: know it's asking people like like ask you what's your
• 18:28
Speaker 2: favorite kid? But I mean one or two or three
• 18:30
Speaker 2: of the highlights for you every year.
• 18:33
Speaker 6: So last year we started the kid's fishing pond and
• 18:37
Speaker 6: the kids absolutely loved it. Yeah, I lie a little bit.
• 18:41
Speaker 6: I say that kids loved it. I saw adults over
• 18:43
Speaker 6: there fishing, so everybody loved the fishing pond. We have
• 18:47
Speaker 6: upgraded that area this year. I can't wait for everybody
• 18:50
Speaker 6: to see it. And again, you come, you catch a
• 18:54
Speaker 6: golden trout, you want a ten dollars I hop gift cards,
• 18:56
Speaker 6: so it's a win win. So that's one of my favorites.
• 19:00
Speaker 6: Another favorite is we got a local pickle guy. I
• 19:03
Speaker 6: know the Charleston show has a pickle guy. I'm sure
• 19:05
Speaker 6: he's fabulous, but we have Monty and he has the
• 19:08
Speaker 6: best pickles. He has sold out here year after year
• 19:11
Speaker 6: and he's had to go get more. So he's one
• 19:13
Speaker 6: of my favorite vendors to come in. And you know what,
• 19:17
Speaker 6: I really love all of our vendors. I get to
• 19:20
Speaker 6: talk to everybody, and really there's just no bad booth here.
• 19:24
Speaker 2: And again, well maybe we'll have a North versus South
• 19:27
Speaker 2: pickle war between the two hunting and fishing shows. But now,
• 19:29
Speaker 2: if I'm correct, I think our pickle person in Charleston,
• 19:32
Speaker 2: I think is from Pennsylvania. I think because I remember
• 19:34
Speaker 2: a couple of years ago they ran out and had
• 19:36
Speaker 2: to drive back to Pennsylvania and come back, So you.
• 19:39
Speaker 6: Know there must be something in the water. Our guys
• 19:41
Speaker 6: from Pennsylvania too pickles.
• 19:43
Speaker 2: I mean one wouldn't think, and there's always food items
• 19:46
Speaker 2: available with these shows. You wouldn't think food would be
• 19:48
Speaker 2: that big a deal, specifically pickles, but by golly, it
• 19:51
Speaker 2: is and people people love it. There's also a lot
• 19:53
Speaker 2: of outfitter things at these at these events as well,
• 19:56
Speaker 2: and by that I mean these different trips you can
• 19:59
Speaker 2: take an excurseion and places that those are always huge
• 20:01
  Speaker 2: at these shows.
• 20:03
Speaker 6: Oh absolutely. We have tons from all over, from Canada
• 20:08
Speaker 6: to South Africa, New Mexico, the Midwest. We have them
• 20:12
Speaker 6: from all over. So whatever you're looking for, you're going
• 20:14
Speaker 6: to find it here. And not just hunting outfitters. We
• 20:17
Speaker 6: have fishing charters from Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, the Chesapeake area,
• 20:21
Speaker 6: So you're just going to want to come and get
• 20:23
Speaker 6: one of those trips and just get ready to be
• 20:26
Speaker 6: outside and be warm. It's been a long winter.
• 20:28
Speaker 2: It has been a long, long winter. And tomorrow, oddly enough,
• 20:32
Speaker 2: playing up the aspect of people wanted to get outside,
• 20:35
Speaker 2: it's actually they say that we could possibly break record
• 20:37
Speaker 2: temperatures today to mar temperatures are going to be possibly
• 20:39
Speaker 2: in the low eighties. So even though everybody wants to
• 20:42
Speaker 2: get outdoors, they may forget what it's like then they
• 20:45
Speaker 2: want to go back indoors again. And it's air conditioned
• 20:48
Speaker 2: inside there. So those never thought this time two or
• 20:51
Speaker 2: three weeks ago we'd be wanting air conditioning, but we
• 20:53
Speaker 2: do want at myland Park there the facility is air conditioning. Kelly,
• 20:57
  Speaker 2: I know you're busy. We'll let you go. We'll revisit
• 20:59
Speaker 2: you guys today on Metro News Midday. Appreciate you being here,
• 21:02
Speaker 2: have a great show. We'll talk soon. Thanks you all
• 21:05
Speaker 2: right again. It is the state's premiere outdoor sports show,
• 21:08
Speaker 2: twenty fourth annual West Virginia Fishing Hunting an outdoor sports show.
• 21:11
Speaker 2: It's all present of by can Am Mile Park in Morgantown.
• 21:15
Speaker 2: They'll start things tomorrow and Sunday at nine am, going
• 21:19
Speaker 2: to seven o'clock tomorrow night. Over one hundred thousand square
• 21:22
Speaker 2: feet of everything that's outdoors, well over two hundred vendors,
• 21:27
Speaker 2: all in one place. If you need information, go to
• 21:29
Speaker 2: the website at WV Outdoor Sportshow dot com. WV Outdoor
• 21:33
Speaker 2: Sportshow dot com. It is a WVRC media event and
• 21:36
Speaker 2: again a programming note. Chris Lawrence will do West Virginia
• 21:38
Speaker 2: Outdoors live from there starting at seven oh six tomorrow morning,
• 21:42
Speaker 2: and then he'll do an expanded show on our sister
• 21:45
Speaker 2: station in Morgantown. They're the WCCHS of Morgantown or worthy
• 21:49
Speaker 2: WAJAR of Charleston. I don't know which is which, but
• 21:51
Speaker 2: it's our sister station in Morgantown, the news talk station there, WAJR,
• 21:55
Speaker 2: and Chris will be on there much like he does
• 21:58
Speaker 2: in Charleston, doing a live show between ten. A new
• 22:00
Speaker 2: download the WVRC Media app and that way you get
• 22:03
Speaker 2: all of our stations all in one place. And yeah,
• 22:07
Speaker 2: maybe on Monday, I'll get into what's happening with one
• 22:10
Speaker 2: of our stations here in Charleston because we are now.
• 22:13
Speaker 2: I'm not making it a huge change. They're just just slight,
• 22:17
Speaker 2: little change. You're gonna note to one of our stations.
• 22:19
Speaker 2: I'll talk about that coming up on the show on Monday.
• 22:22
Speaker 2: Coming up in just a bit, we are going to
• 22:24
Speaker 2: talk to Ashley offer Glance from the Putnam County Chamber
• 22:27
Speaker 2: of Commerce about it. I mean, man, there have been
• 22:29
Speaker 2: so many things going on in Putnam County over the
• 22:33
Speaker 2: last couple of days. I mean, businesses opening, people moving in.
• 22:36
Speaker 2: I mean, it's just been off the charts actually offered.
• 22:39
Speaker 2: Glance is the executive director of Putnam County Chamber of Commerce.
• 22:42
Speaker 2: She is going to join us real quick. Note here,
• 22:44
Speaker 2: I was away from the microphone yesterday and I don't
• 22:47
Speaker 2: want to, you know, bore everybody with any details or
• 22:49
Speaker 2: anything like that. But as you well know if you
• 22:51
Speaker 2: listen to the show, I've talked about it pretty openly.
• 22:54
Speaker 2: I am battling cancer. It is prostate cancer, which is
• 22:58
Speaker 2: if you're gonna gonna get cancer, that's want to get
• 23:01
Speaker 2: I mean, because the survival rate is incredibly high, and
• 23:05
Speaker 2: I just keep getting messages and text from people saying, hey,
• 23:08
Speaker 2: my husband went through this, I went through this, so
• 23:11
Speaker 2: on and so forth. So I had to have a
• 23:12
Speaker 2: procedure done yesterday, and I'll spare you the details, but
• 23:17
Speaker 2: basically there's that I have gold in me. Now, how's
• 23:22
Speaker 2: that I have? So you know, if I ever get
• 23:24
Speaker 2: hard up, you know, ever get fired from this job,
• 23:27
Speaker 2: go to my local pawnshop. I've got gold. Just saying
• 23:30
Speaker 2: so I got that going on now Monday, I go
• 23:33
Speaker 2: in for another procedure where they're gonn gave me some
• 23:34
Speaker 2: sort of a shot. They've already told me it's going
• 23:36
Speaker 2: to be incredibly painful. It's like a six inch needle
• 23:38
Speaker 2: something like that. I will still be here Monday, and
• 23:41
Speaker 2: then I'll start radiation treatments here like in the next
• 23:44
Speaker 2: couple of weeks. So I got this. Appreciate all the
• 23:46
Speaker 2: all the thoughts and prayers and so on and so forth.
• 23:48
Speaker 2: I will say this though, and I posted this on
• 23:52
Speaker 2: social media. My wife and I have a very very
• 23:55
Speaker 2: dear friend of ours who is an older lady. She
• 23:57
Speaker 2: lived across the street from us for many many years,
• 23:59
Speaker 2: and that she she moved last year. She moved down
• 24:02
Speaker 2: to Georgia to go into an elder care facility to
• 24:05
Speaker 2: be closer to her daughter who lives in that area.
• 24:07
Speaker 2: Completely understandable. But my wife U and Miss Billy as
• 24:12
Speaker 2: we call her, they they talk every night, and Miss
• 24:16
Speaker 2: Billy last night tells my wife Rthan said, will tell
• 24:20
Speaker 2: Dave that that God has got his eyes on him.
• 24:24
Speaker 2: And I respond to us and will tell her that
• 24:26
Speaker 2: had I known God had his eyes on me, I
• 24:28
Speaker 2: would have asked for a better gown that covers up
• 24:31
Speaker 2: the backside because all of the medical technology that we
• 24:34
Speaker 2: have that I was wearing that gown yesterday for a
• 24:36
Speaker 2: few hours while I was undergoing this procedure. All the medical,
• 24:42
Speaker 2: you know, advancements we've made, you would think that somebody
• 24:45
Speaker 2: would have made a gown that was just a little

• 27:06
Speaker 2: just finished up a I'm sure what was a very
• 27:08
Speaker 2: successful business before business over there, right we did.
• 27:12
Speaker 4: Yeah, we had a great crowd this morning. We were
• 27:14
Speaker 4: at the Travis and Brittany Willards Edward Jones office and
• 27:17
Speaker 4: we had a littlee hundred and fifty people with us
• 27:19
  Speaker 4: this morning.
• 27:19
Speaker 5: So we were thrilled.
• 27:21
Speaker 4: A nice sunny day bringing out everybody looking to make
• 27:23
  Speaker 4: some connections.
• 27:24
Speaker 2: You know, there's been lots of stuff happening Ashley and
• 27:27
Speaker 2: Putnham County recently. It seems like every time you turn around,
• 27:30
Speaker 2: something new is opening up. Wingstop now open at Liberty Square.
• 27:34
Speaker 2: It's a couple of days ago Dunkin Donuts into Buffalo
• 27:36
Speaker 2: Wild Wings to go open there. There's a lot of
• 27:39
Speaker 2: stuff going on in Putnham County these days.
• 27:42
Speaker 4: Yeah, there absolutely is. We've seen some tremendous growth in
• 27:45
Speaker 4: our retail and restaurant industry in this last couple of weeks,
• 27:49
Speaker 4: so really excited to bring some of those new restaurants
• 27:52
Speaker 4: on board and provide some more opportunities for folks. You know,
• 27:55
Speaker 4: here in Putnam County, we are so fortunate we have
• 27:58
Speaker 4: over thirty five locally owned restaurants, but people also still
• 28:03
Speaker 4: love the opportunity to work with some of the chains
• 28:07
Speaker 4: in the area, so we're eager and excited to welcome
• 28:09
Speaker 4: some of those to the area. One of the new
• 28:11
Speaker 4: local restaurants though, that just opened up is the Bad
• 28:13
Speaker 4: Happy Burrito. People are really excited about that, as well
• 28:17
Speaker 4: as the Sugar Maples just in the same building with that.
• 28:20
Speaker 2: Yeah. I have not had a chance to visit Bad
• 28:23
Speaker 2: Happy Burrito yet. I know one of the owners really
• 28:25
Speaker 2: well and he's reached out to me a couple of
• 28:27
Speaker 2: times and talked to about I haven't had a chance yet.
• 28:30
Speaker 2: We have been to the other place, the Bakery, and
• 28:33
Speaker 2: again it's in one building on Tays Valley Road. My
• 28:36
Speaker 2: wife and I a couple of weeks ago went in
• 28:38
Speaker 2: there and anytime she can get a scone, she's happy, okay,
• 28:42
Speaker 2: And so they had scones and she got a coffee
• 28:45
Speaker 2: and it was really really good. And they also have
• 28:47
Speaker 2: genuine Ellen's ice cream in there.
• 28:50
Speaker 4: They do absolutely Yeah, so there is Ellen's ice cream
• 28:53
Speaker 4: in there. So as the weather it's getting warmer, you
• 28:55
Speaker 4: can go and check it out. And they have a
• 28:57
Speaker 4: specific one that's special to two sugar Maples, the sugar Maple,
• 29:03
Speaker 4: the Maple ice cream, and so that's really nice and
• 29:06
Speaker 4: you don't have to definitely go check out the Bad Happy.
• 29:09
Speaker 4: It's a really fun vibe as well as the food
• 29:11
Speaker 4: is just phenomenal delicious. We've also seen some retail coming
• 29:15
Speaker 4: into the area. The five below. It is officially open.
• 29:17
Speaker 4: I think we're still seeing some comments asking if it is,
• 29:20
Speaker 4: if it's open yet. It is, and we've got some
• 29:23
Speaker 4: other stuff coming into the area. Another restaurant that just
• 29:26
Speaker 4: opened up too in Putnam Village is Hanks and it
• 29:31
Speaker 4: is a golf stimulator and a restaurant. So people are
• 29:33
Speaker 4: really excited about that. Those that are always asking about
• 29:35
Speaker 4: what activities are there to do, you can go check
• 29:37
Speaker 4: out the golf stimulator as well as have some delicious food.
• 29:41
Speaker 4: And that's in Putnam Village next to the Goodwill and
• 29:46
Speaker 4: the Aid of the app.
• 29:47
Speaker 2: It's a former Italian grill location. I think, right, that's right.
• 29:50
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, we were decided to lose the Italian Girl,
• 29:52
Speaker 4: but we are really excited to have this new option
• 29:55
Speaker 4: available to folks to fill that scout for sure.
• 29:58
Speaker 2: Well, I can tell you you got TJ. Meadows, Uh
• 30:00
Speaker 2: you definitely, he's a Putnam County gad too. You got
• 30:02
Speaker 2: his attention when you start talking about golf and because
• 30:04
Speaker 2: I mean this is a genuine golf simulator that's inside
• 30:07
Speaker 2: to plus great food as well.
• 30:09
Speaker 4: Yeah, we also well we also if people really love golf,
• 30:12
Speaker 4: the simulated Swing is also in Pundham County and it's
• 30:15
Speaker 4: just off the Nitro exit as well, and they are
• 30:17
Speaker 4: seeing tremendous success with their with their some golf simulator
• 30:22
Speaker 4: bins as well. So we're we're really adding some great
• 30:26
Speaker 4: additions to the community, a lot of stuff for people
• 30:29
Speaker 4: to do. And I really I feel like I'm actually
• 30:31
  Speaker 4: forgetting some.
• 30:32
  Speaker 6: Stuff because we've.
• 30:33
Speaker 4: Had so much uh so much new stuff come on
• 30:36
Speaker 4: in the last couple of weeks.
• 30:38
Speaker 2: Well, and I do want to mention and not to
• 30:39
Speaker 2: make it all about food, but it was announced that
• 30:41
Speaker 2: Bogey's is going to be going into Hurricane too. Now
• 30:43
Speaker 2: Bogies this is of course, they have the location inside
• 30:46
Speaker 2: Capital Market. They were voted best hot dog in West
• 30:49
Speaker 2: Virginia for their uh their location out in Tornado, and
• 30:52
Speaker 2: they just announced within the last couple of weeks that
• 30:54
Speaker 2: they are going to be opening up as well, just
• 30:56
Speaker 2: off the if you take the Hurricane ecod it's right, Uh,
• 30:59
Speaker 2: it's to be right. We're like being in the neighborhood
• 31:01
Speaker 2: where Subway and Pizza Hut is through there, So you
• 31:03
Speaker 2: get that going on. I want to get away from food.
• 31:05
Speaker 2: I know it's hard for me to say, but I
• 31:06
Speaker 2: want to get away from food for me.
• 31:08
Speaker 4: I know that we have for you know, you to
• 31:10
Speaker 4: have that opportunity to.
• 31:12
Speaker 2: Yes, But I want to talk about some of the
• 31:14
Speaker 2: other growth and some of the other things that are
• 31:16
Speaker 2: going on in Putnam County, because, as I said, it's
• 31:18
Speaker 2: there's been a lot of announcements about food places and
• 31:20
Speaker 2: retails so on and so forth, but there's a whole
• 31:22
Speaker 2: lot more of this of this, uh, this vibe going
• 31:26
Speaker 2: on as far as growth in Putnam County right now.
• 31:29
Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, I mean we're we're definitely uh, you know,
• 31:32
Speaker 4: if anytime Putnam County comes up, I'm sure that our
• 31:35
Speaker 4: housing shortage is mentioned in some capacity. And so we've
• 31:38
Speaker 4: got some really great developers, some local developers as well
• 31:41
Speaker 4: as some national ones coming in to add some new
• 31:44
Speaker 4: housing to to the market here in Punham County. You're
• 31:47
Speaker 4: going to start seeing some groundwork being done down on
• 31:50
Speaker 4: the Woodworth's Farm, which is ward Communities down in Hurricane
• 31:53
Speaker 4: pretty sid and then we also have a great uh
• 31:56
Speaker 4: some some great investment in Winfield and the Windfield area
• 32:00
Speaker 4: housing coming there as well. Winfield. You know, when you
• 32:03
Speaker 4: think about Putnam County a lot of times, you know,
• 32:05
Speaker 4: Tay's Valley kind of gets the highlight. But Winfield is
• 32:08
Speaker 4: a phenomenal community. And not only are we going to
• 32:10
Speaker 4: see some new houses coming in there, we've had a
• 32:12
Speaker 4: coffee shop open up as well as some other small
• 32:14
Speaker 4: businesses over there in the last couple of weeks too.
• 32:17
Speaker 4: So that's a really good community to be a part
• 32:19
Speaker 4: of with with where we're seeing some great growth too.
• 32:22
Speaker 2: Bottom line is Puttnham County is the place to be
• 32:24
Speaker 2: right now. I mean, because there's a lot of folks
• 32:26
Speaker 2: moving in. There's businesses open up right and left, and everybody,
• 32:29
Speaker 2: you know, wants to talk about the traffic situation. And
• 32:31
Speaker 2: I get it. You know, you know where I live.
• 32:33
Speaker 2: I live right off Day's Valley Road about a half
• 32:35
Speaker 2: a mile and a half or so, I'm in it
• 32:37
Speaker 2: every day for about fifteen or twenty minutes. But you
• 32:39
Speaker 2: know what, it beats the alternative, Ashley, it beats the alternative.
• 32:43
Speaker 4: Yeah, we're we definitely know and we definitely here hear
• 32:47
Speaker 4: the concern of the community about that, and we are
• 32:48
Speaker 4: doing everything that we can to address that with the
• 32:51
Speaker 4: powers at be So we we do understand that. But
• 32:54
Speaker 4: we also, you know, know that this is just a
• 32:57
Speaker 4: great community to be in and on occasion, you know,
• 33:00
Speaker 4: there will be a little bit of a hold up.
• 33:02
Speaker 4: So so yeah, we're just we're seeing some great stuff,
• 33:05
Speaker 4: some new stuff entering the market, and we are just eager,
• 33:11
  Speaker 4: eager for more.
• 33:13
Speaker 2: And I would guess the farmers market to be opened
• 33:14
Speaker 2: up here pretty soon too.
• 33:15
Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, So the farmers market actually has
• 33:18
Speaker 4: their annual meeting. Funny you say that, I just got
• 33:21
Speaker 4: an email about our annual meeting for a Farmer's market
• 33:24
Speaker 4: this Sunday to kind of get interest from what our
• 33:26
Speaker 4: vendors are going to be. The Farmer's Market is going
• 33:29
Speaker 4: to take place here at Area thirty four and it'll
• 33:31
Speaker 4: open up in May and it'll run through the fall.
• 33:34
Speaker 4: So but it'll be here. People were concerned, you know
• 33:37
Speaker 4: obviously with the beat ups and the duncan opening up
• 33:41
Speaker 4: in the in the spot of wind, where was the
• 33:43
Speaker 4: market going to go? And it's actually just going to
• 33:44
Speaker 4: move right over here.
• 33:45
Speaker 5: To Area thirty four.
• 33:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the that's the Area thirty four is
• 33:49
Speaker 2: the home of the among other things. You know, you
• 33:51
Speaker 2: got the coffee shop in there. You got Connie slinging
• 33:54
Speaker 2: to coffee, and Ashley's offices there and the CVB and
• 33:57
Speaker 2: every there's several other offices in there as well. And
• 34:00
Speaker 2: it's it's there. It's on that lot there just beside
• 34:03
Speaker 2: where Exon and Arby's is, so you can't miss it,
• 34:05
Speaker 2: just off the days Valley exit. Ashley offered glances with
• 34:07
Speaker 2: the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. Always exciting to talk
• 34:10
Speaker 2: to you, appreciate you being here.

• 39:09
Speaker 2: we'll see the I did this stickers with Trump pointing
• 39:12
Speaker 2: at the gas prices like we saw during the Biden administration.
• 39:16
Speaker 2: Probably not around West Virginia, because my gas are happy
• 39:19
Speaker 2: with high gas prices as long as their dear leader
• 39:22
Speaker 2: tells them to be happy. Says I've forgotten about those
• 39:26
Speaker 2: I Did This stickers that showed up on gas pumps
• 39:28
Speaker 2: and whatnot my gas texture would be no. Uh, Texas, Dave,
• 39:36
Speaker 2: I'm outraged. Biden just caused gas prices to go up
• 39:39
Speaker 2: again and unemployment just went up again to four point
• 39:42
Speaker 2: four percent. We've lost more jobs of last year than
• 39:45
Speaker 2: we created. Biden has to go little sarcasm, Little sarcasm
• 39:49
Speaker 2: off the text line there, Texas, Dave. Every utility has
• 39:53
Speaker 2: had sixteen rate increases in the last ten years, so
• 39:56
Speaker 2: the highest utility rates in the country. And remember the
• 39:58
Speaker 2: Republicans have been charge all ten years. A text A
• 40:03
Speaker 2: couple of things in the news. That big crash on
• 40:08
Speaker 2: sixty four yesterday at the Hurricane exit snarl traffic for hours.
• 40:14
Speaker 2: So we have a story posted about at WV Metronews
• 40:17
Speaker 2: dot com. Police we're going after apparently some twenty two
• 40:20
Speaker 2: year old guy and he's in not that he wasn't
• 40:23
Speaker 2: already in trouble, and he was pretty well known to
• 40:27
Speaker 2: law enforcement anyway. From what I understand. Now he's in
• 40:29
Speaker 2: even more trouble because as part of the chase, and
• 40:33
Speaker 2: again you can read about at WV metro news dot com,
• 40:35
Speaker 2: he rear ended another lady. So now she was tragically killed.
• 40:40
Speaker 2: Not only is he facing charges for the chase. He's
• 40:43
Speaker 2: also facing charges for vehicular homicide and a host of
• 40:47
Speaker 2: other charges that he's caught now and tragically. It's a
• 40:52
Speaker 2: tragedy when anything like this happens, of course, But the
• 40:55
Speaker 2: woman killed was very well known. The Strawberry Lady as
• 41:02
Speaker 2: she was known, Angela Bourne was her name by all accounts,
• 41:07
Speaker 2: just a fantastic human being. The guy who calls her
• 41:10
Speaker 2: death not so much I have not. I did not
• 41:16
Speaker 2: know her personally, but I knew a lot about her.
• 41:19
Speaker 2: I know that Steve Bishop from her sister station of
• 41:21
Speaker 2: V one hundred, was very was I think, very good
• 41:25
Speaker 2: friends with her. Knew her very well. I'll have often
• 41:27
Speaker 2: in the office used to hear him referring to the
• 41:30
Speaker 2: Strawberry Lady. It's tragic story all around. Read the story
• 41:34
Speaker 2: wv Metronews dot com. Morgan Pemberton has that also, longtime
• 41:39
Speaker 2: Canawan County Magister Joe Shelton dies at the age of
• 41:42
Speaker 2: eighty six, who was first elected back in nineteen seventy six.
• 41:46
Speaker 2: A lot of years of great service, certainly a life
• 41:48
Speaker 2: well lived. Thoughts of prayers to his family and colleagues. Ryan,
• 41:50
Speaker 2: You're gonna have to remind me of something am I
• 41:52
  Speaker 2: out of breaks?
• 41:53
  Speaker 12: Now?
• 41:53
Speaker 2: Did I take my final break? Okay? I couldn't remember.
• 41:57
Speaker 2: I take one day off yesterday and and and my
• 42:00
Speaker 2: mind's all foggy. I was thinking, have I taken all
• 42:03
Speaker 2: my breaks? All right? So I've taken all my breaks?
• 42:05
Speaker 2: That's good. H Let me see here. Tex says, uh Dave,
• 42:09
Speaker 2: wondering if anyone saw the awesome job by South Charleston
• 42:12
Speaker 2: Middle School basketball. They finished an undefeated season with a
• 42:16
Speaker 2: buzzer beater with buzzera with the buzzer beater three three
• 42:22
Speaker 2: point shot in the state championship game. It's made national
• 42:25
Speaker 2: sports news and they sent me a link to it.
• 42:28
Speaker 2: I did not translations. Texas seems all the handwringing over
• 42:33
Speaker 2: Capitol Highs basketball seating was for not. Looks like the
• 42:36
Speaker 2: coaches got the seeding correct. That was that was a
• 42:42
Speaker 2: lot of contract, a lot of discussion of the last
• 42:45
Speaker 2: couple of weeks about the what many people saw as
• 42:48
Speaker 2: a low seed by the Capitol High basketball program. And
• 42:52
Speaker 2: uh they went down to Greenbrier East last night and
• 42:55
Speaker 2: they were defeated. Uh So, Texas said all for not.
• 43:01
Speaker 2: Jack says, I saw the video. Should police have been
• 43:03
Speaker 2: pursuing the suspect with the traffic conditions, especially throwing spike
• 43:06
Speaker 2: strips in heavy traffic. I do not know the answer
• 43:09
Speaker 2: to that. I do again, I was at home recovering yesterday,
• 43:16
Speaker 2: but I, like you, saw it on the news last night,
• 43:18
Speaker 2: read about it on her website, so it on social media.
• 43:20
Speaker 2: It's not my place to question police of what they did.
• 43:26
Speaker 2: I don't know. I think there will be an investigation
• 43:29
Speaker 2: into it, as there is any time anyone loses their
• 43:31
Speaker 2: life on this in a manner like this. So to answer,
• 43:36
Speaker 2: I don't know what the answer to that is, but
• 43:38
Speaker 2: the investigation continues. I know Putnam County Sheriff Bobby Agleton
• 43:42
Speaker 2: had a press event. Heard some of the audio a
• 43:44
Speaker 2: little bit this morning when I was driving into work.
• 43:47
Speaker 2: All right, So I'm gonna throw this out here right now,
• 43:50
Speaker 2: all right, and just just hear me out of this. So,
• 43:55
Speaker 2: the students from Capitol High School, you were called a
• 43:58
Speaker 2: couple of days ago, some students from Capitol High School
• 44:03
Speaker 2: I had an issue with ice and they protested at
• 44:07
Speaker 2: the West Virginia State Capitol while the legislature was going on.
• 44:10
Speaker 2: And let me say I did reach out to Capitol
• 44:12
Speaker 2: High Principal John Anderson. Uh, and I invited him to
• 44:16
Speaker 2: come on the show today. He politely declined, and I'm
• 44:19
Speaker 2: fine with that. That's okay. I appreciate that. And he
• 44:25
Speaker 2: in the statement in a text to me, I don't
• 44:27
Speaker 2: think he'd mind for me sharing that. He said, what
• 44:30
Speaker 2: happened with Capitol High School and these students protesting the
• 44:33
Speaker 2: Capitol was more of a student issue, and he is
• 44:36
Speaker 2: this is a quote he said more about them than
• 44:39
Speaker 2: than really it was about about me. Me need him,
• 44:41
Speaker 2: which you know, I get that, and I appreciate mister
• 44:44
Speaker 2: Anderson for, you know, for texting me back. I will
• 44:48
Speaker 2: say this, I think a lot of people were upset
• 44:52
Speaker 2: about it when I and and you saw the uh.
• 44:56
Speaker 2: The comments from frequent guests to this show in Miday
• 45:00
Speaker 2: and talk Line as well a Delegate Hathe Kathy hes Krause,
• 45:02
Speaker 2: who I considered to be a very very close friend
• 45:04
Speaker 2: of mine. Known Kathy for a year, Delegate Crouse for years.
• 45:07
Speaker 2: She and I don't always agree on everything, and that's okay.
• 45:11
Speaker 2: We've been friends for you know, well over ten years now.
• 45:14
Speaker 2: But she was one of the ones that issued a
• 45:16
Speaker 2: statement on social media asking questions about this about this
• 45:20
Speaker 2: protest at the capital, and you know were questions like
• 45:26
Speaker 2: were state funds, were transportation, uh, you know, to get
• 45:30
Speaker 2: them to the capital taxpayer dollars and things of that nature.
• 45:34
Speaker 2: Uh did they just walk out? Was the school aware
• 45:36
Speaker 2: of it? Or they excuse absences? So on and so forth.
• 45:40
Speaker 2: The state, the Kenaw County School System issued a statement
• 45:44
Speaker 2: about it. Capital High School itself issued a statement about it.
• 45:47
Speaker 2: And then many of the students were interviewed that took
• 45:50
Speaker 2: part in the protest. They were interviewed by local television stations. Uhh,
• 45:55
Speaker 2: I saw one of the interviews with one of the
• 45:56
Speaker 2: young ladies who I think was the organizer or one
• 45:59
Speaker 2: of the organizers last night on the on the on
• 46:02
Speaker 2: on one of the newscasts last night, and Delegate Kraus
• 46:07
Speaker 2: then comes on and responds with a statement saying something
• 46:11
Speaker 2: very much paraphrasing here, saying something to the effective. Okay,
• 46:15
Speaker 2: my questions were answered, and that's great and I and
• 46:19
Speaker 2: good on Canaw County Schools and Capitol High School for
• 46:22
Speaker 2: releasing the statement about explaining. Okay, So basically what they
• 46:25
Speaker 2: said was no tax dollars were used to get the
• 46:30
Speaker 2: students there. They went on their own accord. They were
• 46:34
Speaker 2: not given any extra credit. That was going on online.
• 46:37
Speaker 2: People were saying that, well, the kids were offered every
• 46:39
Speaker 2: extra credit. Apparently not that. Apparently that wasn't the case.
• 46:46
Speaker 2: So I will just say this about the situation. Okay,
• 46:49
Speaker 2: this is just my opinion I thought, and hear me out.
• 46:54
Speaker 2: I thought it was kind of a silly protest, Okay.
• 46:58
Speaker 2: In my opinion, I've not been happy with everything that
• 47:01
Speaker 2: what the coverage I've seen what ICE has done either.
• 47:03
Speaker 2: I think they're in many many cases completely out of hand. Okay,
• 47:06
Speaker 2: in many, not all. However, let me say this. I
• 47:12
Speaker 2: applaud the I applaud the kids, whether I agree with
• 47:16
Speaker 2: them or not. I applaud them for putting down their
• 47:22
Speaker 2: phones long enough to care about something. And they obviously
• 47:29
Speaker 2: were very passionate about this. As far as everyone being
• 47:35
Speaker 2: upset about it, that's certainly you're right. But I'm going
• 47:38
Speaker 2: to pose a question to you and give you something
• 47:42
Speaker 2: to think about. All right. This is from your old buddy, Dave.
• 47:44
Speaker 2: You're just something to think about, all right. I saw
• 47:47
Speaker 2: the comments online. I saw some of the comments about
• 47:50
Speaker 2: the students were vile. Because this is not not from
• 47:53
Speaker 2: Delegate Chrous by the way, not from her, But from
• 47:56
Speaker 2: other people, some of the comments were vile about about
• 47:59
Speaker 2: these kids. These are kids you're talking about fifteen to
• 48:02
Speaker 2: I guess i'm generalize, say fifteen to eighteen year old
• 48:04
Speaker 2: kids you're talking about. All right, Ask yourself if you
• 48:08
Speaker 2: were one of the people that was so upset about this,
• 48:11
Speaker 2: ask yourself this question. Would you have been as upset
• 48:17
Speaker 2: had the students been up there for a Charlie Kirk memorial?
• 48:24
Speaker 2: Would you have been as upset had they been up
• 48:27
Speaker 2: there to protest abortion? And I'm just using that as example.
• 48:32
Speaker 2: If it were National Day of Prayer and the students
• 48:36
Speaker 2: went up there, would you have been as upset? Okay?
• 48:41
  Speaker 2: And I'm not saying anything's right, anything's wrong. All I
• 48:46
Speaker 2: am saying is that you got I think that you
• 48:52
Speaker 2: have to look at it objectively. Okay. Again, did I
• 48:56
  Speaker 2: support I'm not a parent, I don't even live in
• 48:59
Speaker 2: Kanan County, but I didn't. But I applaud them for
• 49:04
Speaker 2: caring enough to get involved in something. I applaud any
• 49:08
Speaker 2: kid at fifteen sixteen years old that will put down
• 49:10
Speaker 2: their phone long enough to get involved. And one of
• 49:14
Speaker 2: the students said, there is no Republican club at Capitol
• 49:18
Speaker 2: High School. Because these clubs are student led and know
• 49:22
Speaker 2: from what the student said, and I have no reason
• 49:24
Speaker 2: to doubt them. There's not been any effort to start
• 49:26
Speaker 2: a Republican club. Now, I do know that in Putnam County.
• 49:29
Speaker 2: I do know there is a very active Republican and
• 49:31
Speaker 2: Hurricane High School, at least at one time when I
• 49:33
Speaker 2: was doing voter registration drives, Hurricane High School had a
• 49:36
Speaker 2: very active Republican club as well as very active Democrat club.
• 49:39
Speaker 2: They actually work together on voter registration drives. So I'm
• 49:42
Speaker 2: just asking this question. If you were one of those
• 49:46
Speaker 2: that was so upset about this, even though it was
• 49:48
Speaker 2: explained that no kids were not The kids drove themselves there,
• 49:52
Speaker 2: the parents signed off on them being there, they were
• 49:55
Speaker 2: not given extra credit for going. Would you be as
• 49:58
Speaker 2: upset had they gone up there for a Charlie Kirk memorial?
• 50:03
Speaker 2: Would you have been as upset had they gone up
• 50:05
Speaker 2: there for a National Day of Prayer or had it
• 50:08
Speaker 2: been more Republican focused. If your answer is yes, I
• 50:13
Speaker 2: would have been just as upset, then you're fine. In
• 50:16
Speaker 2: my book, you're fine because you're consistent. But if you're not,
• 50:21
  Speaker 2: I think it's a little bit hypocritical. That's just me.

• 50:56
Speaker 2: who went who went on frustration rant, really shut up
• 50:59
Speaker 2: after the facts of the student protest came out. How embarrassing.
• 51:04
Speaker 2: Kathy Kraus used questions as insinuations. Look who's here, it's TJ. Meadow.
• 51:11
Speaker 2: If you are a.
• 51:12
Speaker 14: Free speech absolutist, which I am, and you want people

• 51:30
Speaker 14: I agree, I agree, and these You're right, these insinuations
• 51:34
Speaker 14: before questions were asked and facts were ascertained. It's irresponsible.
• 51:39
Speaker 14: It's irresponsible, and it shouldn't happen. And shame on the person.
• 51:42
Speaker 2: That did it. All right, all right, we gotta go. TJ.
