- 0:01Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:03Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. The world's origion,
- 0:14Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriot gets unfiltered, and we're at twelve point seven,
- 0:20Speaker 1: and you ended up being right there. Yeah, I was
- 0:22Speaker 1: right on the Why is that the reason why you
- 0:24Speaker 1: brought it up? Yeah, and went all cousin Finney, that
- 0:25Speaker 1: don't shake you ahead at me. I didn't say it,
- 0:27Speaker 1: I didn't hit what I said yet had a million interceptions.
- 0:30Speaker 1: He wasn't playing. I have no respect for zone corners.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Every time they kick off and I hold my breath.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I know they don't kick off offten, but twenty times
- 0:36Speaker 1: they've thrown the ball downfield. Patricia couldn't get the play
- 0:38Speaker 1: in on the next play, like, we're all so excited.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I think I think had been end of the year.
- 0:42Speaker 1: We get another play. No, let's let's let's not be
- 0:46Speaker 1: that nice about it, all right, intelligently on the eighty
- 0:49Speaker 1: three Patriots. How many bud lights deep were you when
- 0:51Speaker 1: you watching that game? He was already nine at that point,
- 0:56Speaker 1: already had four kids like you. It's a tough way
- 0:58Speaker 1: to live. Oh yeah, this is we're living it right now, Mike,
- 1:02Speaker 1: I see a stack of papers in front of you
- 1:04Speaker 1: have in front of you, probably not the amount of
- 1:07Speaker 1: offensive points the Patriots of Oh Fred, Fred, Yes, okay,
- 1:12Speaker 1: this is Patriot's Unfiltered, fueled by Duncan. All right, welcome
- 1:18Speaker 1: to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here at Gette Stadium
- 1:22Speaker 1: and Bill Belichick just wrapped up his first press conference
- 1:26Speaker 1: for this week. There was no availability up until now,
- 1:29Speaker 1: and of course a lot of the questions, not all,
- 1:33Speaker 1: were centered around, you know, preparing for the bills and
- 1:36Speaker 1: what a tough spot it is and how it is.
- 1:38Speaker 1: And I think the theme, you know, there's been different
- 1:40Speaker 1: themes before we're on to Cincinnati, and I think today's
- 1:44Speaker 1: theme was we're doing the best we can. Yeah, you know,
- 1:47Speaker 1: so probably highlights. Just the news it's on the TV
- 1:49Speaker 1: right now with good positive update on tomorrow hamlin um
- 1:53Speaker 1: because he's uh, I don't know what the word is intact,
- 1:56Speaker 1: I forget exactly what they wrote. He's aware, he's aware, Yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 1: for his lungs to to continue. Hell, but just good
- 2:02Speaker 1: news today on his improvement and and hopefully that can
- 2:05Speaker 1: you know, help teams. I guess start to turn the
- 2:07Speaker 1: page and really think about playing a game in three days.
- 2:10Speaker 1: We'll see, I guess this afternoon, how that'll come together. Yeah,
- 2:13Speaker 1: we'll have Evan. I'll be here later and he'll recap.
- 2:16Speaker 1: He was at the press conference, so he'll give a recap.
- 2:18Speaker 1: But you know, from what we listen to, um, like
- 2:22Speaker 1: I said, it's you know, we're doing the best we can.
- 2:24Speaker 1: It's unprecedented. It's unchartered waters um unchartered, correct, waters not chartered,
- 2:35Speaker 1: And like he said, we're just going through it. Um.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Nobody asked, you know, has any specific player come to
- 2:42Speaker 1: you and said I don't feel up to playing or whatever?
- 2:46Speaker 1: That wasn't asked. Yeah. Um, so, but you know, from
- 2:52Speaker 1: everything we can gather, the game's on Sunday at one. Yeah.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And there's you know, in addition to the updates on
- 3:00Speaker 1: on Hamlin that Mike just read, there was a I
- 3:03Speaker 1: think Mike Giardi. I'm not sure if he was the
- 3:05Speaker 1: first one to report it, but I guess Hamlin's dad
- 3:09Speaker 1: addressed the team in a zoom call, which to me
- 3:14Speaker 1: is probably the best indication to allow the team to
- 3:18Speaker 1: start the process of moving on moving forward. Yeah, you know,
- 3:23Speaker 1: I hear a lot of the guys up in Buffalo
- 3:25Speaker 1: said we needed to hear that. M yeah, I think
- 3:28Speaker 1: kier Elam had some comments to that effect Freddy, So
- 3:32Speaker 1: I think Fred's right. I think, you know, it's a
- 3:34Speaker 1: it's a tough situation. I thought Bill expressed it very
- 3:37Speaker 1: well several times. Everybody's doing the best they can to
- 3:42Speaker 1: move on to, you know, and not to forget about it,
- 3:45Speaker 1: not being callous. Just you know, there's a game to
- 3:49Speaker 1: play and you get back to your job. It's the
- 3:52Speaker 1: same for everybody, right, this is the kind of the
- 3:54Speaker 1: news you were hoping if. I mean, of course you
- 3:56Speaker 1: would want him to completely recover, but just the positive
- 3:59Speaker 1: developments that you're here. I really think they're on the
- 4:01Speaker 1: road to that. I mean, hopefully I'm not just being
- 4:04Speaker 1: too overly optimistic, but I think I think he's on
- 4:08Speaker 1: the way to recovery. I do, yeah, I mean I
- 4:10Speaker 1: think the big worry I mean, in my uninformed medical opinion,
- 4:14Speaker 1: which is how long was the out for? So he
- 4:15Speaker 1: can have brain damage from lack of oxygen to the brain,
- 4:18Speaker 1: But it sounds like, you know, he's mentally intact, I guess,
- 4:20Speaker 1: as they said, and squeezing fingers a little bit and
- 4:22Speaker 1: eyes open, so great news. Just hopefully this is you know,
- 4:26Speaker 1: team can kind of maybe build on what they did
- 4:27Speaker 1: yesterday and the Bills had to walk through. I think
- 4:28Speaker 1: they're having a full practice today. Patriots are going to
- 4:30Speaker 1: practice again here in a little bit. Evan will be
- 4:32Speaker 1: in out to that. So, yeah, well we'll see. Hopefully,
- 4:36Speaker 1: hopefully we can have a game. I just I don't
- 4:38Speaker 1: know how I'm gonna feel coming into the game or like,
- 4:40Speaker 1: let's get them guys. I know, I know if the
- 4:42Speaker 1: messages here are different than there. Yeah, I've in Buffalo.
- 4:46Speaker 1: To me, it's very clear. I'm Sean mcno. I'm saying
- 4:49Speaker 1: the best way we can pay tribute to Damar and
- 4:54Speaker 1: the best way we can help him is to go
- 4:56Speaker 1: out there and fight like health in his name. He's
- 5:00Speaker 1: to come to and we're gonna have won a game.
- 5:03Speaker 1: He's gonna have ten million dollars in his charity all
- 5:07Speaker 1: for him, and that's the best thing we can do.
- 5:10Speaker 1: He's in good hands medically. There's nothing we can do there, right, Yeah,
- 5:14Speaker 1: there's nothing we can do there for him. Let them
- 5:16Speaker 1: do that. We let us do our part and our
- 5:19Speaker 1: part is you know, doing our job in his name.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And I mean that's gonna be tough to overcome for
- 5:26Speaker 1: the Patriots, you know, because like, you know, our message
- 5:29Speaker 1: is different, like ours is. Hey, you know, he's our brother.
- 5:35Speaker 1: It's just kind of the same thing. You know, there's
- 5:36Speaker 1: nothing we can do for him. He's in good hands,
- 5:39Speaker 1: but we've got a job to do. Let's do it.
- 5:43Speaker 1: You know, they're not doing it for him, They're doing
- 5:47Speaker 1: it for each other here, you know. So it's a
- 5:49Speaker 1: little bit different message, but the theme is the same
- 5:53Speaker 1: is you have a job to do. You're a professional,
- 5:57Speaker 1: you know, let's let's do it. Let's do it. Yeah,
- 6:00Speaker 1: It's just it is. I mean, talked about it yesterday.
- 6:02Speaker 1: A little weird just having this last game that, I mean,
- 6:04Speaker 1: the Patriots desperately need to win, and I you know,
- 6:06Speaker 1: I just wonder what where the Bills are gonna be at.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Are they gonna be at the point where let's win
- 6:10Speaker 1: one for DeMar because I mean, I think that they
- 6:12Speaker 1: will get there, especially by the next week in the playoffs.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I just don't know if they're if they're mentally able
- 6:17Speaker 1: to get to that point, maybe they can say it,
- 6:19Speaker 1: but are they gonna play like that or are they
- 6:20Speaker 1: still gonna play kind of like I think they will,
- 6:23Speaker 1: and I you know, like you talk about resting players,
- 6:26Speaker 1: They're not going to rest anybody in this game. You know,
- 6:28Speaker 1: Like how do you play for DeMar and then oh, josh,
- 6:31Speaker 1: you're not playing and you're not you're not paying, you know,
- 6:35Speaker 1: but all you other guys play. Yeah, that doesn't make
- 6:39Speaker 1: sense to me. You know, they weren't going to rest anybody. Yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 1: the game meet, I mean before this incident, the game
- 6:45Speaker 1: meant a lot to Buffalo. Yeah, but what's the latest one? Well,
- 6:49Speaker 1: that's the other thing, like, like what's going on with that? Like,
- 6:52Speaker 1: you know, the determination of the result of the Bengals
- 6:56Speaker 1: Bills game does have you know, ramifications on how much
- 7:01Speaker 1: this game actually does mean and so far we don't know,
- 7:05Speaker 1: you know, um what they're gonna do with that game, right,
- 7:08Speaker 1: you know? Right? And there's three all all three of
- 7:11Speaker 1: those teams are you know, greatly impacted by that Bills,
- 7:17Speaker 1: Kansas City, the Bills in the Bengals. Yeah, because they
- 7:20Speaker 1: all can get the number one seed, the number two seed,
- 7:23Speaker 1: or the number three seed depending on what happens you know,
- 7:26Speaker 1: both in Week eighteen and whatever happens with that game. Yeah. So,
- 7:32Speaker 1: like I said, like to me, the simplest and most
- 7:34Speaker 1: elegant solution, as long as the Bengals and Bills both agree,
- 7:40Speaker 1: is that game was a tie and you're gonna live
- 7:42Speaker 1: with the results after Week eighteen, no matter what, you know,
- 7:47Speaker 1: and that's it, and the game won't be played. You know.
- 7:52Speaker 1: But I've heard all these others, I like your fallback
- 7:55Speaker 1: if they don't play the game, Well, I forget what
- 7:58Speaker 1: my fall back was. No, you you just said that one.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I like, I mean, I think the simplest thing you
- 8:03Speaker 1: can play the game game. Yeah, I don't think that's
- 8:05Speaker 1: that simple. Actually, yeah, I just think you just push
- 8:07Speaker 1: everything back a week. I mean, oh no, but I mean, like,
- 8:10Speaker 1: where is it going to be played? Who? What fans
- 8:12Speaker 1: get to go to cint It goes to Cincinnati next week.
- 8:15Speaker 1: It's like week nineteen, and the fans that had tickets
- 8:18Speaker 1: just showed to this game. Sure, yeah, I guess you
- 8:21Speaker 1: could do that. Now if they don't do it, I understand.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Like it's it's a little bit of a different situation
- 8:27Speaker 1: because it's the end of the season. So we have
- 8:29Speaker 1: a week in which there's one game. Yeah, Now, a
- 8:33Speaker 1: lot of people have suggested have that one game along
- 8:36Speaker 1: with the NFC playoffs, which I really don't understand. But
- 8:41Speaker 1: that's I've heard. I've heard a lot of I've heard
- 8:45Speaker 1: a lot of scenarios. I've I've heard a lot of suggestions,
- 8:47Speaker 1: and I don't really Normally I would say a lot
- 8:50Speaker 1: of facacta suggestions. I don't say that this time because
- 8:54Speaker 1: I don't really think there's anything that's that's right or wrong.
- 8:57Speaker 1: I mean, doing the best week can everybody's coming up
- 8:58Speaker 1: and trying to spit ball with different idea. Yeah, so
- 9:01Speaker 1: I could understand you want to have three NFC playoff
- 9:03Speaker 1: games along with a game that has playoff implications, you
- 9:09Speaker 1: make something out of next week. I don't really know
- 9:12Speaker 1: what the benefit of having the AFC and NFC playoffs
- 9:15Speaker 1: then staggered right then the a FC not going to
- 9:17Speaker 1: get a week off, so the AFC doesn't get a
- 9:19Speaker 1: week off of the super Bowl. I'm not sure that that's,
- 9:22Speaker 1: you know, perfect, but there is no perfect solution now,
- 9:24Speaker 1: so I think he's just I don't make fun of it.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I mean, everybody has an opinion. I like that they're
- 9:29Speaker 1: re least slow playing it to see kind of maybe
- 9:32Speaker 1: where things are after Sunday night and then just like
- 9:34Speaker 1: do the least possible. Like sometimes these things work themselves out.
- 9:38Speaker 1: How many times you say, well, we got too many
- 9:40Speaker 1: running backs? And what happens? Fred? Right, you know, someone
- 9:43Speaker 1: gets hurt, someone's unavailable, and all of a sudden you
- 9:46Speaker 1: have a perfect amount. So like Monday morning, you might
- 9:48Speaker 1: wake up and you say, this game is really just
- 9:50Speaker 1: going to determine the two or the three seed, and
- 9:52Speaker 1: you know, let's figure out where it will be played
- 9:55Speaker 1: if they meet in the playoffs. Right if um, you know,
- 9:57Speaker 1: if Kansas City were to lose, I mean I suppose that,
- 10:02Speaker 1: you know, it kind of throws a monkey wrench into
- 10:05Speaker 1: it because now Cincinnati and Buffalo can get the number
- 10:08Speaker 1: one seed. You know, like to me, you almost have
- 10:15Speaker 1: to play the game unless like Fred's thing comes to
- 10:19Speaker 1: fruition and Cincinnati and Buffalo say, we'll forfeit the number
- 10:22Speaker 1: one seed. We don't want to play the game. Will
- 10:24Speaker 1: fullfit the number one seed if they want to do that.
- 10:27Speaker 1: No one's gonna argue with their wishes, you know, And
- 10:30Speaker 1: I think that's isn't that you know, everybody's saying, like,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you know, we'll do whatever. I think Joe Burrow a
- 10:35Speaker 1: great quote. You're right, you know, we'll do whatever Buffalo wants. Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 1: and I'm paraphrasing, but just another reason why I love
- 10:42Speaker 1: that guy. I mean, I thought that spoke like a
- 10:45Speaker 1: perfect tone. You wonder if its owners, like, wait a minute,
- 10:49Speaker 1: because people aren't really considering. Cincinnati has a lot to
- 10:53Speaker 1: lose here too, because they win two games and they
- 10:58Speaker 1: can be the number one seed. Right just you know
- 11:01Speaker 1: they're hot. I mean they were hot coming into this
- 11:03Speaker 1: game before everything happened there. Now they would need Kansas
- 11:07Speaker 1: City to lose to the to the Raiders to the Raiders,
- 11:10Speaker 1: but I don't think I don't think that's impossible. It's
- 11:13Speaker 1: not out of the question. I don't think that they'll
- 11:15Speaker 1: loose it. But Kansas City has not played great. Not
- 11:19Speaker 1: that the Raiders have a quarterback right well yeah, Jared
- 11:21Speaker 1: stop that. Yeah, Evan will yell at you. Um So,
- 11:27Speaker 1: A lot's still to be determined. But as Duke said,
- 11:30Speaker 1: the big headline is tomar Hamlin is showing responsiveness. He's
- 11:36Speaker 1: getting better. YEA long way to go, A long way
- 11:39Speaker 1: to go. He's still in critical condition, I believe, right, Yeah,
- 11:43Speaker 1: a long way to go. But between it's positive, ye,
- 11:46Speaker 1: it's it's moving in the right direction. I think he
- 11:49Speaker 1: just needed to hear something to to be able to,
- 11:51Speaker 1: you know, mentally tell yourself, he's going to be Okay.
- 11:55Speaker 1: We need to move on and really focus on what
- 11:57Speaker 1: this team wants to do, because I mean what I mean,
- 12:00Speaker 1: for the Bills, what better way to honor Damar than
- 12:02Speaker 1: to go out and win the Super Bowl? Kick out,
- 12:04Speaker 1: like I mean, just play use that, you know, And
- 12:07Speaker 1: I hate like trying to make a person's health into
- 12:10Speaker 1: like a motivational thing. Like you know, it's just a
- 12:13Speaker 1: tr like that. But you got to make the best
- 12:15Speaker 1: out of it. I mean, I know that's going to
- 12:16Speaker 1: be the mentality, that's going to be the mindset. It's
- 12:18Speaker 1: just it's hard, like it it could go either way.
- 12:21Speaker 1: You could. You could sit there and say, you know,
- 12:23Speaker 1: they had all the right intentions. They you know, they
- 12:25Speaker 1: had everything in mind. They just couldn't do it. They
- 12:27Speaker 1: couldn't muster it up, you know. But just you know,
- 12:30Speaker 1: put yourself in their shoes. What if it was a patriot,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I mean we would all be like, you know, do
- 12:36Speaker 1: it for no I know we would, you know. Yeah,
- 12:40Speaker 1: But then like there's a lot of examples of teams
- 12:43Speaker 1: using that as motivation and it working and they go
- 12:46Speaker 1: on and win a title. There's a lot of examples
- 12:48Speaker 1: where it goes the other way too. Oh. Absolutely, that's
- 12:50Speaker 1: all I'm saying. Yeah, like I if I would, I mean, obviously,
- 12:55Speaker 1: take the human side of it. If if it worked
- 12:58Speaker 1: every time, these owners would would I mean, stop right,
- 13:03Speaker 1: You're the only one wholes for injury. Stop um, So
- 13:07Speaker 1: take the human I mean it's impossible, but take the
- 13:09Speaker 1: human side of this of it. Obviously, there's nobody on
- 13:11Speaker 1: the planet that that is glad that this happened. Right,
- 13:15Speaker 1: But do you think Buffalo would rather go into this
- 13:17Speaker 1: game just normal or trying to play it for a
- 13:21Speaker 1: fallen teammate, because, of course just normal? Yeah? Again, but
- 13:24Speaker 1: not because I mean, it's obvious about we don't want
- 13:27Speaker 1: a guy hurt, right, But I'd rather not the motivation
- 13:31Speaker 1: that a guy's hurt would trying to rally for him.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I'd rather just go into this game because I think
- 13:35Speaker 1: I'm a better team. Yeah, I don't have anything to
- 13:37Speaker 1: worry about. I don't have to worry about. We all
- 13:40Speaker 1: in this. So do we get enough preparation time? But
- 13:42Speaker 1: we mentally prepared for this, emotionally were ready to go.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I would rather not worry about those things if I
- 13:47Speaker 1: were Buffalo. Yeah, specific to Buffalo, though, I mean I
- 13:50Speaker 1: would I would be a little concerned if I was
- 13:52Speaker 1: the Buffalo team about Josh Allen trying to be the Superman,
- 13:56Speaker 1: I'd a lot every week. I mean, I'd be a
- 13:59Speaker 1: lot concerned about it. He already does, he already does
- 14:02Speaker 1: that to an extent, and he's and he's amazing at it,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and you know he's often unstoppable. But you know, there's
- 14:07Speaker 1: just a level being too pumped up, pushing too hard,
- 14:10Speaker 1: trying to do too much yourself to like, you know,
- 14:12Speaker 1: prove that you're playing for this guy, like you know,
- 14:14Speaker 1: he's just one guy that I think he really would
- 14:16Speaker 1: just need to play within yourself. Don't don't God forbid,
- 14:20Speaker 1: somebody gets hurt in this game. And I don't mean
- 14:22Speaker 1: like like DeMar did, but like just just anything, right, Josh,
- 14:27Speaker 1: almost somebody's down, and you know, like anything, like everybody's
- 14:31Speaker 1: gonna hold their breath every time you know, somebody goes down.
- 14:35Speaker 1: It's well, I mean I said, I mean, I don't
- 14:38Speaker 1: know if I said on the here yesterday, but I
- 14:39Speaker 1: mean it's just I have these feelings a lot like
- 14:41Speaker 1: I mean, it certainly was scary with DeMar Hamlin. The
- 14:44Speaker 1: example I brought up was in twenty twelve when Stephen
- 14:46Speaker 1: Ridley got laid out by what's his face ruined braking
- 14:50Speaker 1: Bernard Poler. I mean, just a crazy hit. He's fencing,
- 14:54Speaker 1: you know that after a concussion. I mean, you know,
- 14:56Speaker 1: it's just these things. These things happen. And even though
- 14:59Speaker 1: that the DeMar ham and was unique and very scary
- 15:01Speaker 1: and all that, it's you know, I still feel the
- 15:03Speaker 1: same way when guys get hurt like that, whether it's
- 15:06Speaker 1: you know, a knee injury, a concussion, all these things
- 15:08Speaker 1: are are are tough to deal with on someone I
- 15:10Speaker 1: agree with you, Deuce, And I think Bill, in his
- 15:12Speaker 1: opening comments today referenced going back to I think he
- 15:16Speaker 1: said ninety seven and I think it was Reggie Brown,
- 15:21Speaker 1: you know, and that that's where it brought him back to,
- 15:23Speaker 1: and that was a similar kind of injury. Not this injury,
- 15:26Speaker 1: not CPR performed on the field, but that's these are
- 15:31Speaker 1: what happened. These are the thoughts that come to mind,
- 15:35Speaker 1: especially a guy like Bill that's been around for so long.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Unfortunately he's seen a lot of these kinds of things.
- 15:40Speaker 1: You know, this might be the worst of all of
- 15:43Speaker 1: those things, but unfortunately it's not the only one. Yeah,
- 15:47Speaker 1: Dennis Bird, Yeah, you know all these guys. Yeah, you know,
- 15:50Speaker 1: I mean even like go back, Freddie Jennumber, you know
- 15:54Speaker 1: for the Patriots when John Stevens ran over, I think
- 15:57Speaker 1: it was Jeff Fuller, right, and John Stevens was never
- 16:00Speaker 1: the same, never the same. And John Stevens was the
- 16:02Speaker 1: t Higgins of and the hit. What happened John Stevens
- 16:06Speaker 1: was you know, a big and he lowered his head.
- 16:09Speaker 1: There was helmet to helmet contact and the Niners safety
- 16:12Speaker 1: went down and never and didn't come back up. And
- 16:15Speaker 1: John John Stevens, even though nothing happened to him physically emotionally,
- 16:18Speaker 1: he was never the same. He was never the same
- 16:20Speaker 1: running back after that. Yeah, I remember him. Yeah, it's
- 16:24Speaker 1: one of my when I was growing up. His daughter
- 16:27Speaker 1: is a professional tennis player. Now, yeah, Sung Stevens. Yeah,
- 16:31Speaker 1: although estranged, I think, yeah, well is John I'm not
- 16:34Speaker 1: sure John is still with us? Oh really? Um? Yeah, okay,
- 16:39Speaker 1: well that would be really estranged. That's extreme estranged. Um,
- 16:45Speaker 1: so we're on video today. Yeah, five five past five
- 16:48Speaker 1: hundred is the a sticket Hutline web radio at Patriots
- 16:50Speaker 1: dot com is the email address. So, like we said,
- 16:53Speaker 1: Bill had his press conference today, they'll be open locker
- 16:56Speaker 1: room access later today. Yeah, they're doing like a two
- 16:59Speaker 1: twentieth MAC and uh yeah, and one of the guys
- 17:02Speaker 1: is going twenty ninety past away. Is that long ago? Yeah?
- 17:06Speaker 1: I wanted to make sure because I that's not one
- 17:09Speaker 1: of those that I do the Paul like off the
- 17:11Speaker 1: top of my head thing. Yeah, should probably sure be
- 17:13Speaker 1: definitive on that one. Yeah, Yeah, so a couple different.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I mean, they're doing MAC and I think mccordy at
- 17:17Speaker 1: two twenty and then at three forty five they've got
- 17:19Speaker 1: another group of guys coming in. Um that'll be winn
- 17:21Speaker 1: actual open lock army. So it seems like they're just
- 17:24Speaker 1: rolling everybody out, you know, try to do what Bill
- 17:27Speaker 1: did today, have the whole that this whole press conference
- 17:30Speaker 1: that you need to have. Of course, do the best
- 17:32Speaker 1: you can, and then by tomorrow, you know, maybe maybe
- 17:35Speaker 1: there's actually Okay, we're we're gonna play this game and
- 17:37Speaker 1: we're locked in and we're ready to go yep, yep.
- 17:40Speaker 1: So you know, we haven't had got a schedule yet.
- 17:44Speaker 1: You know, for travel or anything. They haven't sent that out.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Usually by now we do have I was going to
- 17:48Speaker 1: ask you do you usually get it by Thursday? Yeah,
- 17:51Speaker 1: so I'm sure they were waiting to see what the
- 17:54Speaker 1: what's going on with Buffalo. Um So to me, the
- 17:58Speaker 1: indication that everything is one hundred percent is when I
- 18:02Speaker 1: get that. Yeah, and I haven't gotten it yet. So
- 18:06Speaker 1: I would think by tomorrow morning. I mean, the Bills
- 18:08Speaker 1: were able to do practice today and get through tonight
- 18:11Speaker 1: and you know, hopefully maybe he has some more good
- 18:13Speaker 1: signs overnight and you know tomorrow maybe it's uh, you know,
- 18:16Speaker 1: just just that definity. I think everybody's kind of still
- 18:18Speaker 1: has that doubts McDermott has. Have the Bills had No,
- 18:21Speaker 1: they're going later this after Okay, all right, so we
- 18:24Speaker 1: haven't really heard from Buffalo yet. No, I think I
- 18:27Speaker 1: think McDermott is four thirty. I saw someone right on Twitter.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, that's Twitter, So that's just
- 18:34Speaker 1: something I don't know. I don't know if it's accurate.
- 18:36Speaker 1: And there's Mike Mike Giardi. Yeah, up in Buffalo, Buffalo,
- 18:40Speaker 1: he's on He's on the scene. Yeah. Well, that's a
- 18:43Speaker 1: tough gig. Yeah. Yeah, you're also a different place and
- 18:47Speaker 1: everybody wants to find out the information, and yeah, your
- 18:51Speaker 1: job is to get the information well, not being intrusive,
- 18:54Speaker 1: right like for something like this, and it's very important
- 18:58Speaker 1: to not be wrong. Yep. You can't make stuff up
- 19:01Speaker 1: off the top of your head. You're not there to
- 19:03Speaker 1: guess and speculate. You know, you shouldn't be anyway, some
- 19:08Speaker 1: some of these guys do. But yeah no, no, not
- 19:11Speaker 1: a boy, Mike, No, best smelling guy in the NFL. Absolutely,
- 19:14Speaker 1: I was wonderful. What summer. It's training camp, Tor, it's
- 19:21Speaker 1: gr somewhere. Megan O'Brien's ears are perking up. Yeah, five
- 19:26Speaker 1: five hundred the ticket outline, web Radio Pictures dot com.
- 19:30Speaker 1: We got picks today, Um, Evan will be by later
- 19:33Speaker 1: post practice. Good week for picks for you guys. Oh yeah,
- 19:36Speaker 1: yeah for you guys. Yeah, not you. I was fine,
- 19:39Speaker 1: but I mean that the book was right right now.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I actually had I had a bad week of Um
- 19:46Speaker 1: you were off your schedule, bread, Yeah it is really
- 19:49Speaker 1: I'll go with that, Freddy. Yeah, but yeah, we all
- 19:52Speaker 1: did well overall. Good we should be It's December January, actually,
- 19:57Speaker 1: I mean when you know shar so Sharper. I think
- 20:01Speaker 1: I hope it's after a Thanksgiving Scott had a bounce
- 20:04Speaker 1: back here. I was terrible last year? Do you still
- 20:05Speaker 1: keep last year's I'd love to know how bad I was.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I wonder who was worse me last year of Fred
- 20:09Speaker 1: this year? I don't. I used to do it in
- 20:12Speaker 1: a nope smart and the note book. You know, I
- 20:15Speaker 1: have like a lot of my notebooks in the path.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I would just go back and take it all the
- 20:19Speaker 1: nope but and compile them into a big leather bound
- 20:21Speaker 1: book that is, you know, the Book of Picks, and
- 20:24Speaker 1: then we keep it like in you know, Harry Potter,
- 20:28Speaker 1: like in some libraries somewhere. You really had a geek
- 20:31Speaker 1: it up, didn't you. Yeah, good job he threw it out, though,
- 20:34Speaker 1: So I don't think the Book of Picks and probably
- 20:38Speaker 1: I could probably tell you what happened in like twenty eighteen, right,
- 20:41Speaker 1: and he came in third? All right, um, I guess
- 20:44Speaker 1: you know we'll go right to the listeners, because sure, yeah,
- 20:47Speaker 1: we can talk some bills, some actual game. I feel
- 20:49Speaker 1: all right, So yeah, yeah, Mike, you want to go
- 20:52Speaker 1: to the calls and get a couple of thoughts because
- 20:53Speaker 1: I mean I think we could. Also it's time to
- 20:56Speaker 1: talk about the matchup. Yeah, moving to the matchup. Mike
- 20:59Speaker 1: put out the roundtable questions we could sort of batch.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I haven't answered yet. Okay, I haven't even seen the question. Mind,
- 21:05Speaker 1: we can bat them around a little bit if you like. Um,
- 21:08Speaker 1: let's go to us being Fresno. What's up, Speed? I
- 21:12Speaker 1: was looking to geek it up rather than do something
- 21:14Speaker 1: relevant about the game. Sorry, Oh no, you can geek
- 21:18Speaker 1: it Cane. You can get get up with the best
- 21:20Speaker 1: of them. That's very true. Um, hey, Mike, I know
- 21:24Speaker 1: what you were trying to do yesterday with your touchdown
- 21:27Speaker 1: that Yeah, um, I get where you got your twelve
- 21:30Speaker 1: point two five per game touched. But it ends up
- 21:33Speaker 1: the emailer was right. It's really misleading because you completely
- 21:37Speaker 1: ignore the field goals, which the should count as part
- 21:40Speaker 1: of the offensive production, which is what some of them.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Fred was asking. Yeah, yeah, some of them should. Okay, well, okay,
- 21:45Speaker 1: I understand. I understand what you're saying, and my geekness
- 21:48Speaker 1: is going to get us there. But basically, I the Patriots,
- 21:53Speaker 1: if you include the field goals. The emailers right, they
- 21:55Speaker 1: score eighteen points per game like seventeen point nine four
- 21:58Speaker 1: feet pop four. But um, but when you I did that,
- 22:03Speaker 1: I have no life. And I went through every single
- 22:05Speaker 1: scoring play yesterday and try to fish out which one
- 22:09Speaker 1: should probably instead be attributed to the defense. Not just
- 22:14Speaker 1: defensive scores, but offensive scores that we understand. You know,
- 22:17Speaker 1: Brandon Schooler sets you up at the opponent's ten yard line,
- 22:20Speaker 1: or Jonathan Jonas interception with you it like seventeen four
- 22:24Speaker 1: players later, you know, you get a touchdown. I think
- 22:26Speaker 1: that those are defensive scores that masquerade as offensive scores,
- 22:29Speaker 1: and so I some of this is subjective, but when yeah,
- 22:33Speaker 1: but everybody's counting those, so you can't take them out
- 22:35Speaker 1: of ours, and every other team in the NFL counts them,
- 22:37Speaker 1: so you have to do what everybody else. I'm not
- 22:39Speaker 1: doing a relative Patriots to others. I'm trying to under Okay,
- 22:42Speaker 1: all right, if you just look at the Patriots themselves,
- 22:45Speaker 1: I think that the offensive production overall ends up dropping
- 22:49Speaker 1: down to about twelve point seven five points. Like it's
- 22:53Speaker 1: well that was the number was No, No, it a
- 22:58Speaker 1: different way. No, the numbers sorry twelt two five. What
- 23:03Speaker 1: you guys were saying was, but imagine how much lower
- 23:05Speaker 1: it is than that when you take out no special
- 23:08Speaker 1: we weren't no dues. Took all the defensive touchdowns out
- 23:12Speaker 1: he has I can still I can see his highlights
- 23:15Speaker 1: right now. He can show you on them. He took
- 23:18Speaker 1: all of the ones that were counted as defensive touchdowns
- 23:21Speaker 1: out when he described right, that are right. And his
- 23:24Speaker 1: number was lower than yours twelve point two. And his
- 23:27Speaker 1: numbers incorrect because he didn't take field goals into account. Okay,
- 23:30Speaker 1: so yours is twelve point seven. So we got half
- 23:32Speaker 1: a point more. That's twelve points. Now it's eighteen when
- 23:36Speaker 1: you actually count overall off into production. It's twelve point
- 23:38Speaker 1: seventy five when you when you actually just take out
- 23:41Speaker 1: the sort of mass defensive and specialty sports. Right, So
- 23:44Speaker 1: we ended up with the same spot. No, he's saying,
- 23:47Speaker 1: if he adds, I know what he's saying. It's not hard.
- 23:49Speaker 1: It's not brain surgery. I understand what he's saying. It's it.
- 23:52Speaker 1: But it came out the same thing that Mike did
- 23:54Speaker 1: without going through all that painstaking process. But to me,
- 23:57Speaker 1: it doesn't matter if we're correct because we don't have
- 24:00Speaker 1: anything to compare it. And that's the question that you
- 24:02Speaker 1: were looking for, right, right, right, It's not the same,
- 24:07Speaker 1: but I like, I hear what you say. You're getting
- 24:10Speaker 1: into it. There've only been three pick three, actually four,
- 24:14Speaker 1: Well there's a there was a scoopid score. That's kind
- 24:17Speaker 1: of pick threes. He said, oh, pick three, pick three. Yeah,
- 24:21Speaker 1: I would argue this. I think there was more than
- 24:23Speaker 1: three pick threes in the Detroit game alone, but I,
- 24:25Speaker 1: you know whatever, in the Detroit game there was one
- 24:29Speaker 1: and that was the Jonathan Jones interception of the offense
- 24:33Speaker 1: drove for eighty nine yards. So that's like the least
- 24:35Speaker 1: three once they had one touchdown in the game. Okay,
- 24:43Speaker 1: well what I'm glad I went to the call, Speed,
- 24:46Speaker 1: Thanks thanks for the call. Yeah, like yeah, I like
- 24:52Speaker 1: I apologize for giving everyone the headache yesterday. Like I
- 24:56Speaker 1: just think I just say okay without even like going
- 24:59Speaker 1: we just know from the eye test that true offensive
- 25:03Speaker 1: touchdowns have been at a premium this year. And what
- 25:07Speaker 1: I was trying to get at, like Fred's question was
- 25:10Speaker 1: something very specific that we don't have because there's no
- 25:15Speaker 1: one that's going through every team's drives to determine what
- 25:20Speaker 1: we like, you know, Speed did it for the Patriots.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Speed did a lot of detailed research there and figured
- 25:25Speaker 1: out that. And I know the play he's talking about,
- 25:29Speaker 1: like the ball bounces off of Gunnar Rolshovski's face mask
- 25:32Speaker 1: and you take over the ten yard line. I have
- 25:33Speaker 1: a hard time calling that an offensive touchdown. Everybody else
- 25:36Speaker 1: who tabulates that is calling it an offensive touchdown, and
- 25:40Speaker 1: that's fair. So if they are, then let's do it
- 25:41Speaker 1: and let's see. But they're not talking about all the
- 25:44Speaker 1: other teams. They're not doing that at all. We're doing
- 25:46Speaker 1: it for the page, I know. But but my point is,
- 25:49Speaker 1: I thought there was a stat and there isn't. Where
- 25:53Speaker 1: the DVOA takes the points, they do the yards like
- 25:56Speaker 1: I got, like I got all kinds of tweets about
- 26:00Speaker 1: this yesterday. I'm sure you did too. I know what
- 26:05Speaker 1: the numbers that you were giving yesterday represent. Like people
- 26:09Speaker 1: are trying to explain it to me, you know, because
- 26:10Speaker 1: I'm a dinosaur, I don't understand things. I thought that
- 26:14Speaker 1: there was a mechanism with all of these analytics that
- 26:18Speaker 1: factored in such things, and evidently there isn't. It's it's
- 26:24Speaker 1: left here interpretation. And like I said, Fred might look
- 26:28Speaker 1: at a touchdown and say well, that's an offensive score.
- 26:30Speaker 1: And you might look at it, Mike and say, well,
- 26:32Speaker 1: really they went seven yards, it's not really an offensive score, right,
- 26:35Speaker 1: But at the same time, I don't want to penalize
- 26:37Speaker 1: my offense because my defense is really good, exactly, you know,
- 26:40Speaker 1: So like that, yeah, but like, and I think reasonable
- 26:43Speaker 1: minds can agree. When you recover a fumble off a
- 26:46Speaker 1: face mask of a punt returner at the ten yard
- 26:49Speaker 1: line and you score, that's really not much of an accomplishment.
- 26:51Speaker 1: You could count it if you want. Well, when you're
- 26:53Speaker 1: in like we are, on the red zone, it is. Yeah, Like,
- 26:57Speaker 1: I think the bigger problem in the red zone is
- 26:59Speaker 1: the lack of the the visits to said red zone.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Then it is how many times you score when you're there. Yeah,
- 27:04Speaker 1: like that's the problem. Let's go to Eddie in La.
- 27:08Speaker 1: What's up, Eddie? What's up? Guys? So I was listening
- 27:13Speaker 1: yesterday's podcast this morning. Yeah, and I love that you
- 27:17Speaker 1: guys talked about the future of the team. So I
- 27:20Speaker 1: just wanted to say some things as well. Okay, I
- 27:23Speaker 1: think that if Bill doesn't go out and spend the
- 27:25Speaker 1: money on a wide receiver one, then the rebuild for
- 27:28Speaker 1: the offense isn't gonna come as quick as we all
- 27:30Speaker 1: hope it will, especially since next season the only receiver
- 27:33Speaker 1: coming back is Thornton most likely at least. Also because
- 27:38Speaker 1: I think there's if there's a good looking tackle in
- 27:41Speaker 1: the draft, I mean, wherever we fall in the draft,
- 27:44Speaker 1: I think we should just go for that tackle instead
- 27:47Speaker 1: of flipping the coin on a wide receiver. You know,
- 27:49Speaker 1: I don't want another Nikkia Harry scenario. Yeah. Well you know,
- 27:53Speaker 1: but even if go ahead, even if there's no tackle
- 27:56Speaker 1: out there, like if there's a defensive stud that comes
- 27:59Speaker 1: like lands on us, like, I think we should just
- 28:03Speaker 1: go on that defensive stud. Also instead of a white,
- 28:07Speaker 1: I would say, if there's a stud that's available to us,
- 28:10Speaker 1: just get them. I don't care where, you know, just
- 28:13Speaker 1: get the stud. Um. But you know, I hear what
- 28:16Speaker 1: you're saying about tackle. The thing is, if if you're
- 28:19Speaker 1: gonna get a stud tackle, they're usually up top two,
- 28:22Speaker 1: you know, within the top twenty. Um. So there's a
- 28:26Speaker 1: few of them this year. I mean I'm starting you
- 28:28Speaker 1: can get a Sebasti Vomer in the second round and
- 28:31Speaker 1: he turns out to be a good tackle. Yeah, you know,
- 28:33Speaker 1: but the Blue Chippers are are They're gonna be going
- 28:37Speaker 1: high too, you know. Yeah, so Eddie, I appreciate you know,
- 28:42Speaker 1: so basically it's I mean stuff. Yeah, he's saying this
- 28:46Speaker 1: offensive rebuild is going to be longer than we think
- 28:48Speaker 1: it's gonna be because we're kind of starting over at
- 28:51Speaker 1: ride receiver next year a little bit. I mean, I
- 28:54Speaker 1: think that goes to, you know, the philosophy of how
- 28:56Speaker 1: do you how do you want to get that receiver?
- 28:58Speaker 1: I mean, he wants to go trade for one. I'm
- 29:00Speaker 1: sure there's arguments to be made to draft one of
- 29:03Speaker 1: these guys this year. I know yesterday Evan was talking
- 29:05Speaker 1: a little bit about there's not a great top of
- 29:07Speaker 1: the draft of the receivers. But I mean I agree
- 29:10Speaker 1: with the general point. And I mean I wouldn't just
- 29:12Speaker 1: say receiver, like I think you need, you know, like
- 29:14Speaker 1: if you could find it a tight end, that's a
- 29:16Speaker 1: game changer, you know what I mean, Like if you
- 29:17Speaker 1: could find I think the Patriots they had Gronk and
- 29:20Speaker 1: Edelman and you know that wasn't kind of the usual
- 29:22Speaker 1: setup you have where the best guy is this big
- 29:24Speaker 1: stud outside wide receiver. I mean, I think you just
- 29:27Speaker 1: need star players. You need guys who can who can
- 29:29Speaker 1: deliver in these big moments. And you know, I think
- 29:31Speaker 1: that's the bigger point of just what they don't really
- 29:33Speaker 1: have right now. Of you know, the tight ends are okay,
- 29:36Speaker 1: the receivers are okay, the running backs you have some positivity.
- 29:38Speaker 1: You'd love to see what they look like with an
- 29:40Speaker 1: actual passing attack and some better, more consistent blocking up front.
- 29:44Speaker 1: But I and I agree with the overall points they
- 29:47Speaker 1: need they need some big pieces. So, by the way,
- 29:49Speaker 1: I finally found something real quick on the red zone. Okay,
- 29:52Speaker 1: there's one team in football who's been to the red
- 29:54Speaker 1: zone less than the Patriots this year. You know who
- 29:57Speaker 1: it is? Cleveland, Denver, Denver. Oh yeah, it's the only
- 30:02Speaker 1: offense that's actually been to the red zone fewer times
- 30:05Speaker 1: than the Patriots. So a lot of like stat based
- 30:08Speaker 1: people will tell you, like the percentage itself for the Patriots,
- 30:13Speaker 1: it's a small sample size. Yeah yeah, Like the bigger
- 30:17Speaker 1: problem is they don't get there two point six red
- 30:20Speaker 1: zone possessions. They don't a game. They don't. It's tied
- 30:22Speaker 1: for twenty ninths with Washington and Tennessee. They don't stack
- 30:25Speaker 1: offensive place together right now, Tennessee is a dynamite red
- 30:28Speaker 1: zone team, but they don't get there. That's why they
- 30:31Speaker 1: don't score. Right. Um, While we were talking, Florio from
- 30:36Speaker 1: Pro Football Talk came out with a report that he's
- 30:41Speaker 1: hearing that the league is going to call the Cincinnati
- 30:43Speaker 1: Bills game a no contest, which is the same as
- 30:47Speaker 1: you a thing with a tie. Well that I don't
- 30:49Speaker 1: is it? Yes? Is calling it a no contest different
- 30:53Speaker 1: than calling it a tie? Yeah, I don't know. It's
- 30:56Speaker 1: it's the same thing. It's the same. It's good. Well,
- 30:59Speaker 1: but I think a tie the stats recorded, and like,
- 31:01Speaker 1: wouldn't you You can't just say it's a tie, right,
- 31:03Speaker 1: I mean, it would just be zero zero. So I
- 31:05Speaker 1: guess no contest is saying that anything going to happen
- 31:07Speaker 1: in the game doesn't so all the stats go away. Well,
- 31:10Speaker 1: the stats are irrelevant. They played ten minutes. No, I know,
- 31:12Speaker 1: But but somebody had a touchdown that could add that
- 31:15Speaker 1: could be the touchdown. He needs to have an incentive earned.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Oh well, you know, I mean the team owner should
- 31:21Speaker 1: be excommunicated from the league if on a technicality you
- 31:25Speaker 1: didn't give a guy. They're a difference between calling it
- 31:28Speaker 1: a no contest in time. I'm just talking about the standings.
- 31:30Speaker 1: I'm not talking about the numbers, like you know, someone's
- 31:33Speaker 1: fantasy league. I'm sure was was really upset by that,
- 31:36Speaker 1: and I'm serious, and that's I'm not making light of it.
- 31:39Speaker 1: There's a lot of money for the people involved the
- 31:41Speaker 1: betting in the fantasy and the gambling and all that.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I get it. It's a big business. But in terms
- 31:46Speaker 1: of the standings, if you're giving them ties, then they
- 31:49Speaker 1: stay tied. If you're giving it no contest, that means
- 31:52Speaker 1: the game didn't happen. They're still tied. Like. It doesn't
- 31:55Speaker 1: change the standings, right, and they're gonna end up both
- 31:58Speaker 1: being still behind Kansas City with a tie or a
- 32:02Speaker 1: no contest if Kansas City wins. Do you know what
- 32:05Speaker 1: I'm saying, Because Kansas City is gonna go fourteen and three,
- 32:07Speaker 1: and Buffalo if they beat the Patriots, is gonna be
- 32:09Speaker 1: thirteen and three. Yeah, yep. In Cincinnati will be twelve
- 32:14Speaker 1: and four. So a tie. You know, if you're twelve
- 32:17Speaker 1: four and one or thirteen three and one, you're still
- 32:19Speaker 1: behind fourteen and three Kansas City. That's all I'm saying.
- 32:23Speaker 1: It doesn't matter if you call it a tie or
- 32:24Speaker 1: no contest that I'm seeing. Schefter two, I saw a
- 32:27Speaker 1: speculating conference championships might be neutral site. That's kind of
- 32:30Speaker 1: that's kind of interesting. Yeah, I've heard, you know, can
- 32:32Speaker 1: we get back to the facacta things? Sure? Yeah, that's
- 32:35Speaker 1: one thing I've heard thrown out there is like, okay,
- 32:37Speaker 1: so Buffalo if if Buffalo is the two and Cincinnati's
- 32:42Speaker 1: the three, you know, so Kansas City has kind of
- 32:44Speaker 1: gifted the one seed. So maybe as a as a
- 32:48Speaker 1: you know, as a gesture tribute. Yeah, you say, Okay,
- 32:51Speaker 1: well you're the one, you get the buy, but when
- 32:54Speaker 1: we get to the AFC Championship, they don't. They shouldn't
- 32:57Speaker 1: have to travel to Kansas City, play somewhere else gets stadium.
- 33:02Speaker 1: I don't like. I don't know if I like that,
- 33:04Speaker 1: But again, I'm not here to shoot down any ideas.
- 33:06Speaker 1: In such an unprecedented time, I think people are really
- 33:10Speaker 1: trying to come up with different scenarios that might be
- 33:14Speaker 1: you know, interesting. Do you think they decide anything before
- 33:18Speaker 1: the games go off Sunday? Do you think anything he
- 33:20Speaker 1: has decided with this game before these games are are
- 33:23Speaker 1: played or not played on Sunday? I don't know, but
- 33:27Speaker 1: I don't think so. I think you No, the problem
- 33:30Speaker 1: is no matter what happens on Sunday, it can't get resolved. Yeah,
- 33:34Speaker 1: it's just a question of what's your real problem because
- 33:36Speaker 1: if you know, if if Kansas City does lose, well,
- 33:40Speaker 1: Cincinnati and Buffalo still have the same chance to get
- 33:44Speaker 1: the number one seed. Yeah. Now if Kansas City and
- 33:46Speaker 1: Cincinnati lose and Buffalo wins, then that's different. Now you're
- 33:52Speaker 1: just talking about the two and three seed. Cincinnati could
- 33:54Speaker 1: get the three that you know, the two seed over
- 33:56Speaker 1: Kansas City. Yeah, and that's why it's like it almost
- 33:59Speaker 1: feels more fair to decide now before you know who
- 34:02Speaker 1: is like who has the problem? You know, like who
- 34:05Speaker 1: who's get screwed in this situation? Like based on the results,
- 34:08Speaker 1: is it Kansas City that they you know, are getting
- 34:10Speaker 1: it gifted that they get or is it Buffalo not
- 34:12Speaker 1: getting even a chance to play for it when they
- 34:14Speaker 1: could have? Um, you know, like it's just I feel
- 34:16Speaker 1: like they do it after the games, then it's going
- 34:18Speaker 1: to feel like it might favor certain teams. But it's complicated.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I don't there's no there's no easy answer. It's amazing
- 34:24Speaker 1: that like this is like I would have thought for
- 34:26Speaker 1: sure something like this would have happened during all that
- 34:28Speaker 1: COVID stuff, and somehow you made it through COVID without
- 34:31Speaker 1: ever having to get this crazy where you're trying like
- 34:33Speaker 1: we don't know what the answer is, Like, I mean,
- 34:34Speaker 1: it was always like, we'll just play Tuesday and then
- 34:37Speaker 1: you know, but we never got to like the playoffs,
- 34:39Speaker 1: and then something happened that threw everything off. Eighty five
- 34:42Speaker 1: five Pats five hundred. Let's go to Travis in North Carolina. Hey, Travis, Hello, Hey,
- 34:51Speaker 1: but I got a question, and I do all I'm
- 34:54Speaker 1: not trying to come off as a sense to the
- 34:57Speaker 1: mar Hamlet. In order the Bills, they're going to play
- 35:00Speaker 1: the game, and the Bill and the Patriots need to
- 35:03Speaker 1: win to make the playoffs. Ye, So if your Bill
- 35:06Speaker 1: and you win the toss, do you go on offense
- 35:09Speaker 1: first to try to get a like cheat touchdown? I
- 35:13Speaker 1: guess you could say, because serians, the first time the
- 35:16Speaker 1: Bill has been on the field, I missed that. So
- 35:22Speaker 1: if you win the toss, do you go on offense first,
- 35:24Speaker 1: because maybe they're a little not ready to go right
- 35:28Speaker 1: off out of the gate and try to take advantage
- 35:31Speaker 1: of that. Yeah, you can the other way. Yeah, I
- 35:36Speaker 1: would go to the other one. And maybe they're not
- 35:40Speaker 1: written into you apply. I think both of you guys
- 35:42Speaker 1: brought up you know, does Josh Allen try to be
- 35:44Speaker 1: even more Superman and he gives you one? He gives
- 35:47Speaker 1: you one early because he's not quite ready to go. Yeah.
- 35:49Speaker 1: So but Travis, I you don't have to have the
- 35:52Speaker 1: preamble of like I'm not trying to be You're talking
- 35:54Speaker 1: about the game and you're talking about strategy, and there's
- 35:56Speaker 1: nothing wrong with that, right I Like, I mean, I mean,
- 35:59Speaker 1: it's it's a difference for the different Look now, it's
- 36:02Speaker 1: I just I wonder if I mean, you know, are
- 36:05Speaker 1: you gonna learn anything about the Patriots in this game?
- 36:07Speaker 1: You're gonna learn anything about the Bills? Like it feels
- 36:09Speaker 1: like you already know what's going to be said based
- 36:11Speaker 1: on if the Patriots win this game or the Bills
- 36:13Speaker 1: win this game. You know everything that's gonna be Why
- 36:16Speaker 1: that happened, like you know what I mean? Yeah, real quick,
- 36:19Speaker 1: I knew I would screw this up if I kept
- 36:21Speaker 1: talking about it. So you said, do they wait till
- 36:24Speaker 1: week eighteen? And I think they do? And the one
- 36:27Speaker 1: advantage that you could have, however, remote is if Kansas
- 36:31Speaker 1: City and Cincinnati lose and Buffalo wins, it's neat. Yeah,
- 36:36Speaker 1: it's Buffalo one, Kansas City two, Cincinnati three. That's the
- 36:39Speaker 1: way the records would be, regardless of what would happen
- 36:42Speaker 1: and that buff in that Buffalo Cincinnati game, right because
- 36:45Speaker 1: if if because Cincinnati is a game behind, you know,
- 36:50Speaker 1: they would need to win and have Kansas City lose
- 36:53Speaker 1: to tie Kansas City and they have, you know, because
- 36:56Speaker 1: they have the tie River who Cincinnati is playing, right, Yeah, Now,
- 37:03Speaker 1: most likely both of those teams are going to win
- 37:05Speaker 1: their games, Kansas City in Cincinnati. But listen these there's
- 37:10Speaker 1: upsets everywhere. Yeah. Um, let's go to Daniel in the UK.
- 37:15Speaker 1: What's up, Daniel? Hi, Just sort of circling back to
- 37:20Speaker 1: the conversation from ages ago. You Paul was complaining about
- 37:23Speaker 1: not having stats that corrected for sort of if you
- 37:27Speaker 1: arrived or see the five yard line were expected touchdown,
- 37:30Speaker 1: you're most likely going to score it though. Ye, So
- 37:34Speaker 1: there's a website. This isn't something I run NFL index
- 37:37Speaker 1: dot com, which I think is getting to the heart
- 37:39Speaker 1: of what Paul's after, where you can sort of apply
- 37:42Speaker 1: some filters. So if you type it in, you can
- 37:45Speaker 1: sort of choose which team, what year, which weeks, and
- 37:49Speaker 1: if you just go to the bottom, you can sort
- 37:51Speaker 1: it by the offense. And so if you're if you're
- 37:54Speaker 1: given them ball in the five yard line, you normally
- 37:56Speaker 1: score let's say five points there, and if you get
- 37:59Speaker 1: given the ball in the twenty, you know, we score four.
- 38:01Speaker 1: So I think that sort of addresses what you're going for,
- 38:03Speaker 1: and then you can sort of see this season the
- 38:05Speaker 1: Patriots after twenty sixth offense, so we're still not very good. Yeah, yeah, Okay, Well,
- 38:10Speaker 1: it's just I feel like this is becoming an NFL
- 38:12Speaker 1: index Daniel NFL index dot Com. Okay, it's all right,
- 38:17Speaker 1: thank you, we'll tell Evan about it. Thanks. I just
- 38:20Speaker 1: feel like it's devolving into like how many different ways
- 38:22Speaker 1: can you say the Patriots offense sucks? Like how many
- 38:24Speaker 1: different stats can you like? I mean, like it's just simple.
- 38:27Speaker 1: It's like average drive time of possession twenty eighth, average
- 38:30Speaker 1: place per drive twenty nine, average yards prodrive twenty seventh,
- 38:34Speaker 1: average point you know, twenty fifth, I mean, right, And
- 38:36Speaker 1: that's why. Yeah, and again I'm not making fun of
- 38:38Speaker 1: fred because Freddie wanted to sort of like get a
- 38:41Speaker 1: specific point total. Yeah, you know, comparison with the other teams.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I think the greater thing is what are they in points?
- 38:48Speaker 1: Like counting everything? Oh just overall twenty six or sorry,
- 38:51Speaker 1: seventeenth seventeenth with seven defensive touchdowns. You see that that's
- 38:55Speaker 1: higher than I thought it would be. Oh no, with
- 38:59Speaker 1: this going on defense every week. Friend. But oh so
- 39:02Speaker 1: that includes thecludes everything, everything, everything. That's what I'm saying.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Like that tells you what the caller just explained, right, Like,
- 39:09Speaker 1: they're in the twenties and every low twenty every offensive
- 39:12Speaker 1: metric you could come up with, right, third down yards,
- 39:14Speaker 1: time of possession, points, drive, drive time, you know, like
- 39:19Speaker 1: three and outs like every like anything you can come
- 39:22Speaker 1: up with. They're like somewhere between twenty five and thirty two. Yeah,
- 39:25Speaker 1: except for turnovers twelve points, and you know the turnovers
- 39:32Speaker 1: thing is to me, I find it interesting. Let's go
- 39:36Speaker 1: to William and philam what's up? William? Hey for it?
- 39:40Speaker 1: How are you doing good? All right? My questions for uh,
- 39:45Speaker 1: Paul whatnot? Um? But how did I say? Did all right?
- 39:52Speaker 1: This is the off season question basically, so it has
- 39:54Speaker 1: nothing to do far with the Bills game and the
- 39:56Speaker 1: faces no whatever like that. So I just want you
- 39:58Speaker 1: to do just open your mind a little bit, Paul
- 40:01Speaker 1: with this one, Okay, So I'll try, um, you know, okay,
- 40:06Speaker 1: so we all know that Bill might not be highly
- 40:08Speaker 1: on Mac Jones, right, and you know there's a little
- 40:12Speaker 1: thing's going on with the Ravens whatnot? I mean, before
- 40:15Speaker 1: you blew me off, I already know what wait with
- 40:17Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm not blowing you up with who the Ravens? Okay,
- 40:21Speaker 1: So it's a Lamar question because then ye right right, okay,
- 40:24Speaker 1: So here's here's the question with it. So all right,
- 40:28Speaker 1: so you already got to see Josh Allen already, okay,
- 40:31Speaker 1: and you already know he's a pain in your you
- 40:34Speaker 1: being Bill Belichick, right, and now I think Lamar might
- 40:38Speaker 1: wind up with the Dolphins though, But if something like
- 40:41Speaker 1: that happened, would you want to run interference and get Lamar?
- 40:44Speaker 1: That way you don't have to deal with Lamar and
- 40:46Speaker 1: johnsh Allen because you're not big on Mac even. Yes,
- 40:51Speaker 1: you diminished Mac though, but maybe you're not sold on him.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Maybe you're not you you don't like the wine and
- 40:56Speaker 1: and stuff, and then doing you might want to you
- 40:59Speaker 1: know what I mean, The number one one reason why
- 41:00Speaker 1: you would get Lamar Jackson is because you think you
- 41:02Speaker 1: can win a super Bowl with him, not to run
- 41:04Speaker 1: interference with another team, so you have to you know,
- 41:07Speaker 1: that might be the side benefit of getting him, that
- 41:11Speaker 1: another team in your division wanted him and you got him.
- 41:13Speaker 1: But number one, you have to believe in him. You
- 41:16Speaker 1: have to believe in him. You have to believe that
- 41:18Speaker 1: and getting this guy, I can redesign my offense and
- 41:21Speaker 1: I can want that part of you. And that's what
- 41:23Speaker 1: Ever and I were talking about yesterday, and I got
- 41:25Speaker 1: a question about it in the mailback this week. I
- 41:27Speaker 1: don't think it's like it's he is a priority. He's
- 41:32Speaker 1: going to be the crown jewel of free agency, right right.
- 41:36Speaker 1: I don't think it's ridiculous to suggest that your team
- 41:39Speaker 1: is not sold on its quarterback and is a very
- 41:42Speaker 1: good quarterback who will be available, especially what's what happened
- 41:45Speaker 1: the last five years. You know, maybe ten years ago
- 41:48Speaker 1: it would have been silly to discuss this, but now
- 41:51Speaker 1: you're seeing high profile quarterbacks change teams every year. Why
- 41:55Speaker 1: not Lamar Jackson to the Patriots. It's not a silly thing.
- 41:59Speaker 1: I don't think it will happened in my mind. However,
- 42:01Speaker 1: is open to it, William Absolutely, I love Lamar Jackson.
- 42:05Speaker 1: I just think that you'd have to really do a
- 42:07Speaker 1: lot to make that work. That's my thing. But I
- 42:09Speaker 1: also think that you're hitting a little bit of a
- 42:11Speaker 1: point right now where you're probably gonna need an OC.
- 42:14Speaker 1: You're gonna lose a bunch of wide receivers. So I mean,
- 42:16Speaker 1: I'm agree with you, but the opportunity, let's keep playing
- 42:19Speaker 1: it out. I like this. Bill O'Brien is supposed to
- 42:21Speaker 1: be the new offensive cornator, right. How much different is
- 42:24Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson in style? Yeah? He learned.
- 42:28Speaker 1: I mean Bill O'Brien learned to develop, and he was
- 42:31Speaker 1: instrumental in developing Deshaun Watson. Now, I think Watson's a
- 42:36Speaker 1: better passer than than Jackson. You know, So maybe you
- 42:40Speaker 1: could say what was easier for Billy O'Brien to do
- 42:42Speaker 1: it with him? But it's one of those things that
- 42:44Speaker 1: Tim and I haven't even really discussed. What I think
- 42:46Speaker 1: is the biggest obstacle is I'm not sure the Patriots
- 42:49Speaker 1: are willing to give two hundred and fifty guaranteed million
- 42:51Speaker 1: dollars anybody to anybody, right, you know? But okay, yeah,
- 42:57Speaker 1: that's true. I mean we have seen crazy things in
- 43:01Speaker 1: the NFL. I mean thinking about it, like we never
- 43:03Speaker 1: thought we would get Randy Moss. You never thought you
- 43:05Speaker 1: would get Brandon Cooked or Stephane Gilmore or Darrell Reevers.
- 43:09Speaker 1: So I mean even seeing Devine stay Addy's run over
- 43:12Speaker 1: to the to the to the Raiders and whatnot. So
- 43:14Speaker 1: I'll leave a chance. But I was just thinking of
- 43:17Speaker 1: Bill Belichick. You Okay, he's seventy years old. Do he
- 43:20Speaker 1: wants to see what because he wants to go through
- 43:22Speaker 1: this with Mac? Do you know what I'm saying? Yeah,
- 43:23Speaker 1: that's what I was trying. I know. Yeah, all those
- 43:25Speaker 1: guys you mentioned, I mean, all those guys you mentioned,
- 43:28Speaker 1: including Gilmore, it doesn't come close to what you're gonna
- 43:32Speaker 1: have to pay Lamar Jackson. Yeah. I would say Gilmore
- 43:34Speaker 1: is the only one that's comparable to this, because Gilmore
- 43:37Speaker 1: got top of the market, high end free agent corner
- 43:40Speaker 1: money for a corner out of nowhere. But I wouldn't
- 43:42Speaker 1: have said that's never gonna happen. Yeah, Now, was I
- 43:44Speaker 1: surprised when I when I walked into work the day
- 43:46Speaker 1: that they signed, Yes, because I hadn't heard anything about it. Yes,
- 43:49Speaker 1: I was, But I mean Fred's right, you're talking what
- 43:53Speaker 1: two and a half three times? Yeah, he's gonna want
- 43:56Speaker 1: he wants to set the quarterback market. Yeah, I know
- 43:59Speaker 1: he wants. He wants Watson's contract. Deshaun Watson's contract in
- 44:02Speaker 1: Cleveland is what he's looking for. Nobody should get that though.
- 44:05Speaker 1: That's the problems. He's freaking everything. I mean, he's better. Uh,
- 44:13Speaker 1: I don't know think so. I don't think so. I
- 44:16Speaker 1: just I mean I like watching. I don't know if
- 44:17Speaker 1: Watson will ever be the same. Yeah, um, you know,
- 44:20Speaker 1: I know he looked good in the second half last week,
- 44:22Speaker 1: But I don't know if they'll ever because oh what,
- 44:26Speaker 1: oh what? Oh you know what you did? I don't
- 44:29Speaker 1: know what you did? Kersh you know what you Thanks
- 44:31Speaker 1: William H. Let's go to market Sacramento. What's up, Mark?
- 44:37Speaker 1: Can you guys see man? Yeah? Yeah? Thanks? Could happen?
- 44:41Speaker 1: I call it nice. I just had a thought about
- 44:45Speaker 1: the Cincinnati ban goes in the Buffalo Bills game and
- 44:48Speaker 1: how to solve the problem. I just want to get
- 44:50Speaker 1: through guy's thoughts about it. Okay, how about because it's
- 44:55Speaker 1: been like moving everything around and play nineteen game, how
- 45:01Speaker 1: about just a simple point coin talus and m one
- 45:06Speaker 1: coach in the other whoever and the other thing gets
- 45:11Speaker 1: to lose and he just move on the Frinday and
- 45:13Speaker 1: everything as noble. Yeah. I've heard that thrown out there too.
- 45:16Speaker 1: I mean, I think if it's a difference between two
- 45:18Speaker 1: and three, why not I I just find the conference
- 45:21Speaker 1: championship game. You know, then that becomes a little bit
- 45:23Speaker 1: of or if those two teams were to meet, especially
- 45:25Speaker 1: being three and two, thing, who gets to play? Where? Yeah?
- 45:28Speaker 1: Where do you play? That? That's the question. And you
- 45:30Speaker 1: know that's a big that's a big it's a big
- 45:32Speaker 1: coin flip for for a playoff game, especially you know
- 45:34Speaker 1: two teams. He televise that flip live, right, yeah, right?
- 45:37Speaker 1: Do you know they used to decision They used to
- 45:39Speaker 1: do those coin flips, like on conference calls, like back
- 45:43Speaker 1: in the in the old heads they just believe nineteen
- 45:46Speaker 1: seventies like NBA number one overall pick. It'd be like
- 45:50Speaker 1: the owner of the Cavaliers and you know in Cleveland
- 45:52Speaker 1: and the older the like the Trailblazers in Portland, oh,
- 45:55Speaker 1: and I'm Larry O'Brien. I'm gonna flip the coin now.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Oh and it's head Oh okay, imagine Al Davis being
- 46:02Speaker 1: involved in one of those I call challenge. Wow. But yeah,
- 46:06Speaker 1: I've heard the coin flip thrown out there too. I mean, yeah,
- 46:11Speaker 1: is that more equitable than calling in a no contest?
- 46:15Speaker 1: I don't know. But to me, it comes back to
- 46:18Speaker 1: what Cincinnati and Buffalo want. Yeah, you know what they're
- 46:22Speaker 1: willing to agree to, what's fair to them. I don't
- 46:26Speaker 1: think this should be a like just the ruling from
- 46:31Speaker 1: above from Roger Goodell, I think, and I don't think
- 46:34Speaker 1: it will be. He has the power to do it,
- 46:37Speaker 1: you know, according to the the CBA and all that stuff.
- 46:40Speaker 1: But I think that he needs to have conversations with
- 46:43Speaker 1: the two teams and they need to reach an agreement
- 46:45Speaker 1: as to what they think is most equitable. What time
- 46:48Speaker 1: did they catch? Twenty two shows start this morning? Okay,
- 46:51Speaker 1: So I don't want to take emails that were sent
- 46:53Speaker 1: to them, yeah, Carl writ saying I don't want any
- 46:57Speaker 1: part of that. Well, one of says this is the
- 47:00Speaker 1: best football podcast on the internet, hands down. So I
- 47:04Speaker 1: came in at ten thirty five, So I'm gonna's mother.
- 47:08Speaker 1: I gotta give that to cash twenty two. Um, let's see,
- 47:12Speaker 1: this is Carl from Rochester. I haven't written in a while,
- 47:16Speaker 1: but listen regularly. Here's a game. Would Belichick stay or
- 47:20Speaker 1: leave if Robert Craft I pose these conditions? Note? I
- 47:23Speaker 1: know these probably won't happen Paul and Evan, but just
- 47:26Speaker 1: throwing some ideas out there. Would he stay if Patricia
- 47:30Speaker 1: and Judge can stay in the team but have to
- 47:33Speaker 1: but have no coaching power over any part of the offense? Stay?
- 47:36Speaker 1: Would he stay or leave? I think he'd stay. No
- 47:40Speaker 1: power of the offense, Yeah, no coaching power of the offense.
- 47:45Speaker 1: So you can make Joe Judge special teams coaching. You're
- 47:48Speaker 1: gonna make Maddie pe a defensive coach. Question was would
- 47:50Speaker 1: Bill accept this? Yeah? Would he stay or leave? Really?
- 47:53Speaker 1: So you think that he's going to keep those guys?
- 47:55Speaker 1: I don't. Well, I don't think that Bills would accept
- 47:57Speaker 1: any like you're out of like you have less sponsible Okay, Now,
- 48:01Speaker 1: the OC must be someone with extensive offensive and play
- 48:04Speaker 1: calling experience more than one season. I'll preface that one.
- 48:08Speaker 1: What was that? So the OC must be someone with
- 48:11Speaker 1: extensive offensive and play calling experience. Does he stay or leave?
- 48:15Speaker 1: This is a demand that's a stay because I think
- 48:19Speaker 1: that that's just what you'd what you'd hire anyway, right,
- 48:21Speaker 1: I mean right, Like, if it's Bill, you gotta hire
- 48:24Speaker 1: an offensive corder. Okay, great, I'm gonna hire some kid
- 48:25Speaker 1: that's never done it before. Like, no one's gonna No
- 48:27Speaker 1: one's gonna Matt Jones must be consulted and have input
- 48:30Speaker 1: on the QB coach decision. I'm out. I don't think
- 48:34Speaker 1: you'd agree to that, and should he? And finally, a
- 48:37Speaker 1: new draft per personnel is hired, and if they deem
- 48:41Speaker 1: a pick too risky or too much of a reach,
- 48:43Speaker 1: the pick is vetoed. New draft personnel is high. I
- 48:47Speaker 1: guess he means person a decider. Yeah, I don't know.
- 48:51Speaker 1: I think though that I don't think Bill's gonna like
- 48:53Speaker 1: anything demanded. I think things have suggested and it has
- 48:57Speaker 1: to be Bill's. But it's a tonality issue. Yeah, don't
- 49:01Speaker 1: demand things. I don't appreciate your time. Yeah, um, Bill
- 49:06Speaker 1: and Vista, California. Would you rather the Patriots sneak through
- 49:09Speaker 1: the playoffs and win the Super Bowl? Yeah? End up?
- 49:12Speaker 1: But end up keeping Patricia as next year, yes, or
- 49:15Speaker 1: miss the playoffs and bring in a qualified OC next year.
- 49:18Speaker 1: I'll take the Super Bowl and I'll sit here have knockdown,
- 49:23Speaker 1: drag out arguments with Fred that it had nothing to
- 49:26Speaker 1: do with the offense, I'll right now. But if that does,
- 49:29Speaker 1: but I'll take the title. But if that does somehow happen,
- 49:32Speaker 1: you have to be okay with Patricia being the OC
- 49:34Speaker 1: next year, right, Yeah, I'll take it. Yeah, okay, no
- 49:37Speaker 1: more complaining. All right, I'll take it. I mean, I'll
- 49:40Speaker 1: take a title over the alternative. Are you kidding me?
- 49:43Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? Let's go back to the phones.
- 49:47Speaker 1: We'll go to Austin and Michigan. What's up Austin, Hey,
- 49:53Speaker 1: good afternoon, guys. Thanks for taking my call. So um,
- 49:58Speaker 1: obviously everybody he saw the Tamlin injury, and one thing
- 50:04Speaker 1: that I wasn't a huge fan of of how they
- 50:07Speaker 1: handled it was the way I saw it was the
- 50:10Speaker 1: NFL they wanted to continue play. But I really think
- 50:14Speaker 1: that Sean McDermott was really the one that was pushing
- 50:18Speaker 1: for the game to be canceled, because if you look
- 50:21Speaker 1: at like him having the conversation with the Bengals head
- 50:24Speaker 1: coach and the referees and stuff. The way they're like
- 50:28Speaker 1: body language was, you know, they're standing all there and
- 50:30Speaker 1: they got their hands on their sides and whatnot. But
- 50:33Speaker 1: when Sean McDermott was talking, he had his hand over
- 50:36Speaker 1: his mouth. He was covering it up because he didn't
- 50:38Speaker 1: want people knowing what he was saying. And to me
- 50:42Speaker 1: watching the game, seeing what unfolded, and in a few
- 50:46Speaker 1: minutes we got to see, you know, I saw a
- 50:48Speaker 1: Bengals offense that was running the ball down the field.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Their defense held the Bills to three points on their
- 50:53Speaker 1: first drive, and on the Bengals second drive, they were
- 50:57Speaker 1: running up the field again. So and honestly, where that matters, Yeah,
- 51:02Speaker 1: totally totally irrelevant. I mean, you're implying that both teams
- 51:07Speaker 1: got the ball went right down the field in a blink.
- 51:08Speaker 1: You're implying that McDermott didn't want to, you know, was
- 51:11Speaker 1: looking for an out. I don't think that's the case.
- 51:13Speaker 1: But I did hear that He's told, you know, the
- 51:16Speaker 1: coach for the Bengals, yeah, I gotta gospital. But then
- 51:22Speaker 1: you see how I think the build, like their staff
- 51:27Speaker 1: people were cleaning up the equipment before you know, before,
- 51:31Speaker 1: before you knew, yeah, before you knew at that point
- 51:33Speaker 1: they knew, yeah. I mean, it was pretty clear underneath
- 51:38Speaker 1: they were the away team, so they had to start
- 51:40Speaker 1: picking right. And it was pretty clear underneath the stands
- 51:43Speaker 1: when they showed that those shots from that that fixed
- 51:46Speaker 1: camera that they showed McDermott on the phone and then
- 51:50Speaker 1: he handed the phone to Taylor, it was pretty clear
- 51:52Speaker 1: they were talking to either Troy Vincent or Roger Yeah,
- 51:56Speaker 1: and they were finding and maybe maybe the coaches were
- 51:59Speaker 1: the ones that said, yeah, we ain't playing the rest
- 52:01Speaker 1: of this game. Yeah, And and that could happen. But
- 52:03Speaker 1: to imply that he was looking for and out because
- 52:06Speaker 1: he thought he was gonna lose Chris, I don't think so. Austin. Um,
- 52:11Speaker 1: guess who's here and has done so. Evan, we want
- 52:27Speaker 1: to hear from practice, and then also I want to
- 52:29Speaker 1: get your take on Bill's press conference. But tell us
- 52:32Speaker 1: what's going on outside, going on in the rain outside,
- 52:35Speaker 1: So I just toughed it out for all of you,
- 52:40Speaker 1: Browse Gros. Good news for the Patriots on Thursday, Marcus
- 52:45Speaker 1: Jones and Johnny Smith are back at practice. Joh wow,
- 52:51Speaker 1: that's someone we're excited about. Yeah, all right, Marcus Jones,
- 52:55Speaker 1: Johnny Smith back at practice. The only player missing was
- 52:58Speaker 1: Divon Godshaw. He wasn't on the injury report yesterday, so
- 53:01Speaker 1: I wonder if that's an illness or something going on
- 53:03Speaker 1: personal or whatever. Wouldn't look too much into that. But
- 53:06Speaker 1: the good news is Marcus Jones, john U Smith back
- 53:09Speaker 1: at practice, back participating from what we could see briefly
- 53:13Speaker 1: on our brief window. And I think that this can't
- 53:17Speaker 1: be a bad thing for the Patriots certainly. And I
- 53:19Speaker 1: was talking to my cohort Alex Barth on the way
- 53:22Speaker 1: back inside, and we're thinking, Okay, well, you got John
- 53:25Speaker 1: Jones on digs and maybe Marcus Jones on Isaiah McKenzie
- 53:28Speaker 1: and cook him with gas. You match up a little
- 53:31Speaker 1: bit better, you do. I'm not saying that I feel
- 53:33Speaker 1: much better about this game than I did yesterday, but
- 53:36Speaker 1: certainly you have that, you have his big playability of
- 53:39Speaker 1: potentially special teams that maybe playing him a little bit
- 53:42Speaker 1: on offense like they did in the Thursday night game.
- 53:45Speaker 1: I think that there's at least some positive certainly from that. Okay,
- 53:50Speaker 1: you did mention it was raining Upper Flower grass field
- 53:56Speaker 1: in the rain. It's low forty, so it's not freezing
- 54:00Speaker 1: by any means. So I think that was the one
- 54:02Speaker 1: positive because if it was ten degrees colder, it's probably
- 54:05Speaker 1: snow that or not rain. So we still haven't not
- 54:08Speaker 1: to jinx it. But we still haven't had, to my knowledge,
- 54:11Speaker 1: a snow practice. No, I don't think it's snowed in
- 54:15Speaker 1: the game. No either. You're right not here, which has
- 54:18Speaker 1: been weird. Um, And the early forecast for the Bills
- 54:21Speaker 1: is there could be some participation thirties admit to upper thirties.
- 54:27Speaker 1: I think for Sunday at one. Yeah, that's um. While
- 54:33Speaker 1: you were out there, did the media learn about Florio's report? No,
- 54:38Speaker 1: Florio's reporting that the league is going to call the
- 54:41Speaker 1: Bengals Bills game a no contest. Okay, that makes sense.
- 54:46Speaker 1: So I guess in that sense, then if the Chiefs
- 54:49Speaker 1: went on Saturday night, then they that they've locked up
- 54:51Speaker 1: the number one seed. Yeah. Yeah, if they all win,
- 54:54Speaker 1: it'd be Chiefs one, Bills two, Bengals three. Right, So
- 54:56Speaker 1: I guess the question is then from for Patriots to
- 54:59Speaker 1: spend it to the pag Patriots is how much of
- 55:01Speaker 1: a difference does it make the Buffalo to be the
- 55:03Speaker 1: two or the three. Now you get two home games.
- 55:05Speaker 1: I guess if they're not going to play Bill's Bengals
- 55:08Speaker 1: Divisional round it like a neutral side of which I
- 55:10Speaker 1: know has been thrown out there, then you get two
- 55:12Speaker 1: home games, I suppose. But you're you're definitely playing on
- 55:16Speaker 1: wild Card weekend if you wake up Sunday morning in
- 55:18Speaker 1: the Chiefs won that game, which means you're playing in
- 55:21Speaker 1: seven days in the playoffs, maybe six if they put
- 55:23Speaker 1: you on Saturday. So I wonder how much that that impacts.
- 55:27Speaker 1: I think they still play everybody. But if you're Josh
- 55:30Speaker 1: Allen and Sean McDermott comes up to you before the
- 55:32Speaker 1: game is just like, hey, you know, if this was
- 55:34Speaker 1: a playoff game, maybe you run for that first down,
- 55:36Speaker 1: but maybe this one you throw the ball into the stands.
- 55:39Speaker 1: You know that sort of thing. Oh that was I mean,
- 55:41Speaker 1: that was something I brought up earlier in the show.
- 55:42Speaker 1: Was just Josh Allen's already a guy who is like
- 55:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it. As he get even worse now,
- 55:47Speaker 1: like feeling like I need to go out and make
- 55:50Speaker 1: a play for my guy, and you know, is this
- 55:51Speaker 1: as he put more pressure on himself, i'd be something
- 55:54Speaker 1: might be concerned if I was. And uh, as far
- 55:57Speaker 1: as you know, the mood you said yesterday, it was
- 56:00Speaker 1: you know, you mentioned Carl Davis, it's Bill's week, anything
- 56:03Speaker 1: like that. Today there was a lot of energy at
- 56:06Speaker 1: practice today and they were dancing to the music, they
- 56:08Speaker 1: were moving. Guys were up for it, I think, and
- 56:14Speaker 1: I look, I think they based off the vibe. And
- 56:18Speaker 1: we haven't talked to anybody yet, we'll talk to them
- 56:20Speaker 1: later today, but based off the vibe at practice the
- 56:22Speaker 1: last couple of days, I do think that winning on
- 56:25Speaker 1: Sunday gave this team a little bit of a jolt that, Okay,
- 56:28Speaker 1: we're in it, like all we gotta do is win
- 56:30Speaker 1: and we're going to be in the playoffs. And I
- 56:32Speaker 1: think that that did give them a little bit of
- 56:34Speaker 1: a spark that they took care of business in a
- 56:36Speaker 1: game they needed to win, and now they are able
- 56:39Speaker 1: to win an in Well, my biggest thing is just
- 56:41Speaker 1: to feel like a playoff week here, because that's basically
- 56:43Speaker 1: what it is, and it certainly feels different here in
- 56:45Speaker 1: terms of the preparation. I mean, you've heard the guys
- 56:47Speaker 1: talk about over years, everything kind of ramps up a
- 56:49Speaker 1: bit when the playoffs start, it seems like what you're
- 56:51Speaker 1: describing seems more like a playoff atmosphere. It's just it's
- 56:54Speaker 1: hard to call upon that when you're dealing with all
- 56:56Speaker 1: this other stuff. But I like hearing that they're getting
- 56:58Speaker 1: ready to go and you know, bring bring it. They
- 57:00Speaker 1: got to bring their best game of the season and
- 57:02Speaker 1: they got to, you know, produce a game that they
- 57:03Speaker 1: probably haven't played in at least three years. And are
- 57:06Speaker 1: there any members of the media doing extra grousing today?
- 57:10Speaker 1: The rains always out, the rain is always tough. That's
- 57:14Speaker 1: always a well, you can't be the guy with the umbrella, Mike,
- 57:17Speaker 1: all right, you gotta you got, you know, a hood.
- 57:19Speaker 1: And Stacey's from Seattle. He frowns upon that. He really does.
- 57:24Speaker 1: I never knew, you know, I was in an ejaculate.
- 57:27Speaker 1: If Gardy was here, he'd pitch a tent and he'd
- 57:30Speaker 1: be sorry. I'd be pitching Wow. But he'd he'd have
- 57:34Speaker 1: his like his ten by ten ten, and he'd have
- 57:36Speaker 1: like a beach towel and he had to use size
- 57:39Speaker 1: of smelling wonderfully. Yeah, yeah, no, it just keeps smelling
- 57:44Speaker 1: it now. No umbrellas so now I want to turn
- 57:47Speaker 1: to Bill's press commerce because we kind of watched it,
- 57:49Speaker 1: but you were there. Um, you know, the theme was
- 57:52Speaker 1: were doing the best we can? Yeah, but anything else
- 57:55Speaker 1: that you took out of that. I hate that it
- 57:59Speaker 1: comes to this circumstance, but I think when these things
- 58:03Speaker 1: have happened, not that it happens often, but you do
- 58:08Speaker 1: see a human side to build, maybe a little bit
- 58:11Speaker 1: more than when we get up there out of normal
- 58:14Speaker 1: Wednesday Thursday press conference that we're just asking him questions
- 58:17Speaker 1: about the team and about football. I thought that the
- 58:21Speaker 1: way that he put it into perspective for himself going
- 58:24Speaker 1: back to the was it Reggie Brown in nineteen ninety
- 58:26Speaker 1: seven and being there, and it feels like he understands
- 58:31Speaker 1: that this is this is from a player perspective, that
- 58:35Speaker 1: this has to be very challenging to mentally see that
- 58:40Speaker 1: and now go out there and play, just like Damar
- 58:43Speaker 1: Hamlin went out there on Monday night to play a
- 58:45Speaker 1: football game. And he did mention that Gerard Mao and
- 58:49Speaker 1: Troy Brown have been guiding, leading him and leading the
- 58:54Speaker 1: team a little bit more maybe this week than in
- 58:56Speaker 1: weeks past, just because they have that that player perspective
- 59:00Speaker 1: and coaching perspective, so he shouted them out. But I
- 59:04Speaker 1: thought it was interesting how you see the sort of
- 59:07Speaker 1: the wall come down a little bit for Bill and
- 59:10Speaker 1: start to talk about you know, this is bigger than
- 59:12Speaker 1: football and life is you know, this is just a game,
- 59:16Speaker 1: even though it's a very competitive game. It's this is
- 59:18Speaker 1: one of those humbling moments where we realize that this
- 59:22Speaker 1: is this is not just a football injury. All right,
- 59:27Speaker 1: all right, good stuff. Let's take a break because Paul's

- 1:09:29Speaker 1: I like Matthew staff and Fred's gonna make fun of me.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: But I think if you get him in, you can
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: find out exactly what you have with with Baker. May
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: guess in the last five weeks, it's like, this is
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: a guy I think could really thrive in my offense.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: This is a guy that he's not a fiture. I
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: guess if you're saying that Stafford's not a sure thing,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: then okay, yeah, But I mean, how can you say
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: Stafford's a sure thing? Oh? I didn't know the injury
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: was that like he was out for possibly out for
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: twenty twenty three. Oh no, no, he's not going to
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: be out for twenty twenty three. He may decide I'm
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: not playing anymore. Okay, well either way like a sure thing,
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: like I'm just like, I'm not saying that there's any
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: reports that say that Matthew Stafford might not play next year.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: I'm saying the guys in his late thirties and has
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: a spinal contusion. I think he might say, you know what,
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: I got lucky, I'm getting out. So he's not a
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: sure thing. So in mcvas in victors Mine, he's not sure.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: He's making me a report and I'm not reporting. That's
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: another great moment from all right back here in Patriots
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Unfilter day five, five past five hundred's the A Sticket
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: Outline web radio at Patriots dot com, Florio is reporting
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: that the league is planning to name the Bengals Bills
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: game and no contest. And my question was, is that
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: different from calling it a tie? I don't know, but
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: Neil says it's better than a tie, is better than
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: a loss. So to me, it has to be better
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: than an NA or no contest. A tie would mean
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: that Baltimore can't win the division. There is there is
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: uh yeah, no, if it's a no contest, they can't
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: win the division either. Is that right, yeah, okay, because
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I believe the two games behind. No, Yeah, the tie
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: is I feel like it's it's one and the same honestly,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: which is what's confusing to me, because a tie is
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: not a when you calculate win percentage, it's wins over
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: games played, and so you're still having the same amount
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: of wins. Like, right, I don't Kansas City is fourteen
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: and three would be better than Buffalo's thirteen in three,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: correct if it's a no contest, right, and it would
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: be better than thirteen three and one correct, same thing, right, right,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: And that's how I like Baltimore. Baltimore has ten wins, correct, Yes,
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: so they're ten and six, so they would finish eleven
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: and six. Cincinnati would finish eleven and five if they lose, correct, correct,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: So they win the division. Eleven and five is better
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: than a eleven and six even if they lose the game. Yeah,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: even if they tie the game, it's the same. Like
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: from a standing standpoint, I don't know, like this is
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: too much math for me. Yeah, I'm on the verge
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: of you know me, you know, I just look at Paul,
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, the numbers not my strong suit. Scenarios.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: I'm there for you. Numbers not my strong suit. Love
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: the scenarios. End of game situation, Nathan says, first time
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: for me watching you guys on video, and I just
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: wanted to point out how completely appropriate it is that
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: Fred is not facing Paul. It makes the shouting matches
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: so much more enjoyable. To imagine Fred just grinning while
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: Paul yells at the side of his face. That is
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: what happens. You gotta get the triangulation down, so if
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: you can see it, like picture friend Paul yelling at Fred,
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: Fred giving me like these eyes, look as Paul is
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: yelling into his right ear right. Since we're nearing the
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: end of the season and the Patriots supposedly have the
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: third most cap space in the league this coming year,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: are there any particular free agency would Yeah, that number
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: is fungible by the mcguel. I think the mcguel is
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: thirty seven to forty one million, which I don't know
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: where There's been things out there that they have like
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: one hundred million in cap spaceres which is not even
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: close to accurate. I don't know. I don't really know,
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: but I go by mcguel as well, and because I
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: think around between thirty five and forty million. Barton Poland
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: says one thing is certain for Sunday, it will be
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: a true throwback game for the Patriots once again. Everyone
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: will be rooting for us to lose. That's probably accurate. Yeah, probably.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: It's a tough spot. It's a tough spot. I mean,
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: how do you know? And then if you win, then
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: then we're mean you're the heel and you're like celebrating. Yeah,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: it's like a heel turn in in a wwe um.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: James Pettigrew, the most interesting Patriots fan of the world,
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: wants to know y Zoe wears shades on TV. He
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: has like a got an eye issue and the television
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: lights really bug them. But you're also you're calling into
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: this show asking us about Zoe. Why, well he is
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: on the backgrounds He's right there. I see Zoe in
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: the background. Yeah. Um, let's see Anthony. Quick question. If
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: they determined Buffalo Cincinnati is a no contest and Kansas
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: City when Saturday Buffalo has nothing to play for Sunday,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: correct break between Cincinnati and Buffalo without the head to
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: head Cincinnati based on what oh no, excuse me? If
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Buffalo wins and beats the Patriots. They beat the two seeds,
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: it Buffalo does. But if they lose, who would be
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: the two seeds Cincinnati based on depending on what happens
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: with Cincinnati Baltimore. So no, But if they tie and
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: they don't play like everybody says, Cincinnati would be tied
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: over Buffalo because they would have beaten them. Right, So
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: I believe that the next tie breaker is then conference record,
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: which I think if Cincinnati takes care of BIZ, they
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: would have. I'm pretty positive that that's what it is.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: But we're getting into a lot of permutations at this point.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: I mean, it sounds right. Let mean, let me figure
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: it out for it. Let's get back to the phones.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: We'll go to Todd North Carolina or who's hung on?
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: What's up? Todd? Todd? Hey, good, good afternoon, gentlemen. Todd.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: So I want to actually talk about the game, because
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: I know we've been talking a little bit of hypothetical
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: playoffs and all this other stuff. Well, there's our offense
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: need to do in order to win this game. I
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: think we need four with two touchdowns and two field goals.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: That's what I want. The same drive I might. I mean,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I'm with you on four. I think it's four touchdowns,
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: so I think the Buffalo has the tiebreaker ever since Finati. Okay,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: so if Buffalo, because they would have the same conference record.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: So I got lost at that point. If Buffalo and
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: Cincinnati both lose, and Buffalo is the two seed. If
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: they both win, Buffalo is the two seed. Okay, Okay,
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: back to the question. Sorry, Todd, Todd drive, Yeah, I
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: don't know, Todd. I think I think. I just think
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: you need four touchdowns from the offense. Four touchdowns. I
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: think if we can get it. I think if we
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: can get to twenty points, I think we can and
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: sustained drives. I mean I don't I don't mean like
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: you guys have been talking about, well, does this an
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: offense who cares what the drives look like? Yeah? I
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: think he's talking about time and possession of the field. Yes,
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: if you have like fifteen play drive, then maybe you can.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: It's the old like what they did against highly. I
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: think more than twenty points, I do. I mean they
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: had seventeen after the first three possessions of the last game,
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: so twenty points and a defensive touchdown, so we're at
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: twenty seven. Maybe maybe that's different. But you can't plan
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: for that, and I think you probably have to plan
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: not for it because it's happened so much like eventually
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: the well runs drive. Yeah, progressions of the mean, Yeah,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: basically we're looking at touchdown open to make so well,
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: I just think, yeah, whatever however you get there, I
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: think you're gonna need to mid to high twenties to
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: be in the game. Yeah, right, so let's at least, okay,
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: three shones and the two field goals and kind of
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: minimum that's okay, maybe like four safeties all right, underrated
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Bay And that Thursday night game was Josh Allen tackling
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: Matthew Judon when he's on the strip sac because Matthew
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: Judon got the ball and he was right. I don't
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: know know if he would have made to the end zone,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: but he would have at least put them in plus
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: territory maybe, and Josh Allen tackled him for no game,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: which was low key a very very big play in
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: that game's a big play overall. It's just, I mean,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: one of the only turnovers they've gotten out of these
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: guys in yes, some memory, it's just I mean it
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: was almost one of the questions I was going to
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: ask in the round table, and I felt kind of like, Mum,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: should we put that in the game that they should
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: have won because they should have had another defensive score. Yes,
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: you know they're they're one and four against these guys.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: I mean they basically there point totals almost double um,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: no interceptions from Josh Allen that one fumble, Just like
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: what do you do at this point? Like, I mean,
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: you know, it's like Evan, how many times have you
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: written a d offensive? Here's what the Patriots need to
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: do against Josh Allen in this game? Yep, And they like,
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Do you just running out
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: of like they tried it all? Like it just it
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: just comes down to on this particular day, we have
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: to outplay them and we have to hope that he's
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: not on in nails and just thrown it all over
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: the yard and running like a man possessed, like you know. Yeah,
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: the opening drive for the Bills in the last game,
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: the very first snap, they ran an inverted cover two
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: simulated pressure. That's a lot of big words to just
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: say that they gave up a five yard game right,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: like it just they ran a play that had all
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: the bells and whistles that at their disposal. They dropped
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: a guy off the line, They blitzed the guy up
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: the middle, they took the corners on the outside, and
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: they inverted them into the too high still and like
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: all this, they were spinning the dial all over the place.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: And I think against the quarterback like a Teddy Bridgewater
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: or some of the quarterbacks that they've eaten this year,
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: when you just throw the kitchen sink of information at
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: those guys, it can overwhelm them and you can win
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: that way. But against a guy like Josh Allen, I
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: think ultimately it does catch him a few times. But
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: I think what ultimately happens is he's just like, you
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: know what, I'm just better than this, So like I'm
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: just gonna run around and I'm gonna make a play, right,
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: And he doesn't really get too caught up in oh,
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: I gotta read this coverage and there they trapping me here,
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: or they actually running this and like all this other stuff.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: He's just like, well, I have a laser, so I'm
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: just gonna throw it there anyway, and if not, I'll
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: just run over somebody. And the first down, Yeah, Sean's
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: in New York. Hey, Sean, Sean, Sean, Sean, I wonder
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: if I wonder if I was Sean McDermott coach this
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: game this weekend? Uh, Claire, right game? Hello everyone, Hello
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: mare In, Hello Claire um. With Derek Carr sitting out,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: I got a little curious of what you would prefer
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: if there were options for next season at quarterback? So
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: would you rather Mac Jones? But with someone decent at OC?
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Mac Jones regardless of who was at OC. Patriots draft
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: a high pit quarterback and a new OC, and if so,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: we keep or trade Mac, bring in a veteran, insert
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: one of the reasonable choice and someone knew at OC,
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: and if so, keep or trade Mac. I just think Mac.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: That's Mac for next year my opinion. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: without knowing specifics, I would say Mac in a new OC. Yeah,
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: I don't think you're really talking about moving on till
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: Mac till at least year four, and even then probably
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: not till year five when maybe you didn't pick up
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: the fifth year option because it doesn't turn around. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: I would agree, And I've been, you know, somewhat critical,
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: but I would have to say that this isn't a
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: typical year two. For any young quarterback to have to
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: deal with all the stuff that he had to deal with,
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: I don't think he handled it well. I've been on
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: record as saying that many times. I don't have to
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: repeat it, but I do think you'd have to be
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: catastrophically bad, like Zach Wilson bad to not deserve a
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: third year UM. And you know, it sounds like Wilson's
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: probably gonna get one too, um as bad as he's been,
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: but based on based on the abnormalities of the way
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: the offense was set up this year, I don't know
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: how you can justify unless you get a home run
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: falls in your lap. Yeah, that's the tough part in
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: this draft is that Bryce Young and c J. Stroud
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: are gonna be one and two. I would be shocked
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: if they're not. And if you're picking eighteenth, then that's
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: a really steep trade up, probably an impossible trade up honestly,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: to get all the way up to top two. And
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: then like you're talking about I don't know Will Levis
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: from Kentucky, Like, I don't think that that's changing your
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: your team, and also Will leave us. It is how
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: you know me, Paul. We've started to do, like the
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: draft things of the week, we just like Noah bug a. Yeah,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: and it's gonna be what Texans Colts are gonna have
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: those top two picks and they both need quarterbacks. So
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: if you're gonna try to steal one of those guys,
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: you're gonna have to gig a king's ransom together. What
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: I would suggesting if something fell in your lap, it wasn't.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: You're right, you're not gonna have something fall in your
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: lap in the draft. Um, but you know, maybe someone
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: that you don't anticipate being available, you know, as a
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: veteran quarterback. And I'm not saying Arred Carr. I'm saying
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: someone you know of a higher stature and all of
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: a sudden you can get him. Like weird things happen.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: You just never know the guy you know who's going
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: to be the next guy who's completely disgruntled with their
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: team and just wants out and he can play. Like
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: at what point, let's just say, I don't know, I
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: don't know, Joe Burrow, do you think Aaron Rodgers is
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: going to stay with the Packers? Yeah? Yeah, So would
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: they want to trade Jordan Love and would you be interested?
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: I think they should at some point. I mean I wouldn't,
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: but I could see why some people would. I mean,
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: how much do they like them? I mean I think
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: that's a question. If they you know, we like them,
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: then I think keep around. But I don't know. It
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: doesn't feel kind of like the Patriots get something for
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: him while we can. He's going into year four, right,
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: so he's on that and he's, well he was the
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: first round. I don't know. I think they already have
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: to decide on that, right, I don't know. This is
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: his fourth year. I know he's I think next year
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: they have to decide what they do. No, I would
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: pick it up, yeah, if I mean, if you think
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: he's any good, I mean they know what they think
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: of him. Yeah, like Laflor has had him for three years.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: If you think he's any good, you pick it up
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: and you say, well, I'll push that off his punk
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: that decision as long as I can. Like a lot
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: of people thought this was it for Aaron Rodgers. Now
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: all of a sudden, the defense is playing out of
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: its mind and he's rejuvenated. He actually looked like he
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: cared the other day when they won. And they're gonna
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: go to the playoffs. I'll have to was win a
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: game Sunday night, and they're in so I think he'll
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: be back. Um Gary writes in Fred, I know you'll remember,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: even if the other guys don't. I was listening to
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: the preseason game when Darryl Stingley went down. I was
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: white as it goes, sick to my stomach, and in
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: suspended animation for hours. Just like Monday night. His life
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: was in danger in a different way, but just the same.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: It's a Patriots moment I'll never forget, along with the
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: night he returned to Foxboro and was in the press
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: box before the game. I remember that. Yeah, really, well,
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: that's that's an interesting example though. I mean, I know,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: you know the Tehigans stuff. I mean, but that was
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: a play right where it was. I mean, that was
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: a vicious hit that a US right like. Yeah, and
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: but I mean that was kind of, I want to say,
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: part for the course in the league at that point,
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: but it was certainly a lot more hitting guys over
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: the middle, clothes lining. I'm like that going high that
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: was not called the penalty back in those days. You know,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: I don't think there wasn't a flag on that. I
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: don't think so. But I don't know. I don't think
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: there was. You know, I don't think there was. Um
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: Andrew says, in the situation where Casey wins on Saturday
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: and the Bills cannot win the number one seed, assuming
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: you were Buffalo, how would you rank your potential wildcard
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: opponents from most wanna play to least want to play,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: use Pittsburgh versus Miami or verse ball Baltimore without Lamar Jackson. Well,
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: I mean, I mean it is a little tempting with Baltimore,
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: but I would just say a team that you play
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: twice a year, that you've owned, I mean that you know,
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: you're familiar with that. I think it would be my
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: most desirable option. Pittsburgh. The Patriots would be close. I mean,
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: they're similar. It's it's it's some good as Rogers. Yeah,
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: and you and you can't say Baltimore without Lamar Jackson
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: because that's not on the table. You don't know that.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: I would still Maybe it's just the Homer in me,
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: but I still lean Pittsburgh. Just oh yeah, me too.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: I just I don't know. I I think there's something
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: still very like they're obviously something's missing from this team. Too,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: But I just don't think Pittsburgh is Well, here's the thing.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: I've said this a million times this year. There's only
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: one way the Patriots have to win. Pittsburgh is very similar.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: That's the only way they can win is seventeen thirteen,
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: sixteen fourteen, Like, that's the game that they win. So
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: I will take the Patriot's chances in that rock fight.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: You know, I think the Patriots are better in that
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: kind of a game. I think they're better suited than Pittsburgh.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: Don't think Pittsburgh can score. If I'm Buffalo, I think
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: the Patriots are a little bit better than Pittsburgh. Yeah,
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: I'd rather play Pittsburgh than the Patriots. Another question I
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: was putting the round table was the Jets and the
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Dolphins both beat the Bills at home this year, and
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: then both of them also had one score games in
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: Buffalo this year and no circumstances around. But why can't
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: the Patriots have a close game like that? Like every
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: game they kind of lost year has been two plus scores,
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: double digit losses. Like why are those teams able to
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: not only beat Buffalo at home and hold serve but
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: make things interesting on the road too? Like it's just
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: why why are the Patriots feel like they Miami full strength? Right?
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: So their offense is much better than the Patriots offense
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: at full strengths. I think that's for them. I would
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: say that's they can keep up on the scoreboard with
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: two uh. I think for the Jets, the Bills are
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: a bad matchup. For the Patriots, They're just a bad
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: matchup and it's like, how does he keep having three
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: years in a row? Like we're a we did not
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: We'll just we'll run it back match like, you know,
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: the Jets have a lot more teams. I'd say on
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: defense still, like I think the Patriots have made strides
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: in that department, but they still aren't as fast as
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: as a team like the Jets. The Jets are also
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: a really good zone team, which I think helps when
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: you play man against Buffalo, they just they tread man.
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: Alan is so mobile and the receivers are tough to
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: cover and man digs like how do you cover it?
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: Stefond digs for four quarters in man coverage. So I
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: think that that's a big part of it too. But
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: I think for Miami it's it's that they could keep
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: up with them on the scoreboard. All right, um, I
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: guess it's that time of the week. Huh really really yeah,
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: take our time early. We won't we won't rush it
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: this week. We want to hear about the standings though. Yeah.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: Uh well I was not prepared for this. Okay, Well,
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: as I previewed a very good week for everybody. Alex
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: was the best. Wow at thirteen and two. You might
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: notice this strange number of games. I didn't award anybody
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: the victory for the Buffalo Cincinnati game, but Alex thirteen
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: and two, Mike, Evan, Paul twelve and three, Fred eleven
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: and four. Like, really, I like this is a really
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: good week. Now with the spread not as good for
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: anybody except for Evan nine and six, make a good
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: solid week Alex eight and seven, Mike eight and seven,
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: Paul seven and eight, Fred four and eleven. Oh my god,
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: so season standings, Uh, Mike sixty four eighty nine and two,
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: One sixty three ninety and two. We had two different
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: and they somehow he cannot he cannot Fred one fifty
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: four ninety nine and two. Evan remains with the best
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: overall winning percentage at one oh three fifty five and one.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: That's a six fifty one winning percent enage ahead of
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: my six forty seven and Alex is eighty seven and
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: forty nine, which is a six forty winning percentage. Pause
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: coming up on Don Shulam the spread, kick him off
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: the show before he gets there. It's just ridiculous. One
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: forty five, one oh six and four five seventy six
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: winning percentage. Why didn't I bet one hundred parts in
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: every game? Because you can't because because I'd be fired.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: But that would be okay because I'd have the money
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: a lot more than Mike one twenty six, one twenty
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: five and four, one game over Fred one twelve, one
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: thirty nine and four. Evan solid eighty seven eighty seventy
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: six and three. You're making money, they can making money
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: making money five thirteen winning percentage, Alex sixty six sixty
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: eight and two. Not making money, losing money. We're doing
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: a good job. Yeah, that's when it would stop. Okay,
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: So full slate of games this week, um and they
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: start on Saturday. Hated. Why why I'm with Paul on this?
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: Like to give me a day off. The competitive imbalance
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: that we're getting here, it's just not for me. That's
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: why you hate the Saturday games. Yes, Oh I liked
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: it when everything was played at Sunday at the same time.
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: It just the drama is much better. So but I
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: just meant like Saturday games in general, at the end
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: of the year, you're fine those you just don't like
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: it because of the competitive I like them. In like
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: week sixteen seventeen, I like Kevin, like what Fred said,
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: I just you know, like, do I not do something
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: Saturday because I feel like I need to see what
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: happens in the game. And the answer to that is no,
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: I will do something sad to have a day, you know.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: Um So four thirty is the first game, and these
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: are on This is the one that matters to the Patriots.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: These are on ESPN and ABC. They're putting it on
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: both channels. According to this, thirteen and three Chiefs are
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: at the six and ten Raiders Chiefs by nine and
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: a half. Pint and a half. I'm gonna just say
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: that Kansas City makes life a lot easier on a
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: lot of us, and they pull out the win. However,
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna take those points though. I think
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: I think Las Vegas kind of letting it rip a
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: little bit, and I think that they'll they'll keep it
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: closer than ten games ten points. Yeah, I'm gonna do
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: the same thing Chiefs with the Raiders covering the spread.
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes, MVP of the league, not close, thank you.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: I love when he speaks in definitive tones. I am
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: with the boys, Kansas City to win, Vegas to cover.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: I would be willing to pull an upset here, but
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: I'm wondering if the Raiders kind of emptied the bucket
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: last week. Yeah, bad team, really good performance against a
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: good team. They still lost, So I do in the
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: back of my mind wonder about that. But they seem
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: to play really good games. Kansas City in Vegas. Yeah,
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: so I'll split it. Um. Yeah, I'm gonna do the
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: same thing. We're unanimous. Chiefs win by the Raiders cover
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: eight fifteen on ESPN and ABC. The seven and nine
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: Titans are at the eight and eight Jaguars Jags by six.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: Josh Dobbs, Right, Josh Dobbs is gonna lose to Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: I think this is uh, this is a Jaguars Uh.
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: I want to say coming out game, but uh, but
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: I think that they they put it all together here,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: but have nice climax to their season and punched their
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: playoff ticket. I'm gonna take Jags, and I'll lay the points.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: I'm also going to take the Jags. I think this
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: is a passing of the torch in this division. I
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: think the Jags are gonna be stick around, but I
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: like the Titans to keep it close because I think
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: they'll play for Vrabel and the division and they'll battle.
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: I'm with Evan, I think the same thing. I think
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: Tennessee will have a chance to win this game. I
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: wonder if Jacksonville's ready for a big game. You know
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: the you know some young guys that haven't really been
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: in this spot. But I just think Tennessee's too beat
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: up to actually win the game. And Josh Dobbs, like
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: I've been said, think I don't think they're ready for
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: this year. I've been riding Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: I'll keep on that ride. Jaguars win against the Titans.
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: What was the number on that poll? Six oh six?
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: When did you start riding Trevor Lawrence A long time ago.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: He's been riding them. I will I'll say, I'll say
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: the Jaguars cover in this game. Uh, we move over
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: to Sunday one o'clock the eight and eight Buccaneers or
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: at the six and ten Falcons Buccaneers by fours. Wow,
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: what the heck happened on my sheet? These are? This
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: is all mocked up? Um? All right? Well is this
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: uh Tom Brady wrapping things up? Oh? I'm sorry? Atlanta
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: by four, Atlanta by four? This is uh lead pipe lock. Yeah,
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna take Tampa and I will I'll
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: take the points right, taking Tampa point Atlanta is favored
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: by four. Yeah, all right, Tampa already won, and then
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: they're definitely playing on watching spread is telling you that
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: they're not playing anybody in this game. That's that's what
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: the sharps say. I saw that Trask might play a
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: little bit for for the Bucks. I do, Yeah, okay,
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Alan Falcons. I think they end up taking Brady out
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: in the second half and he doesn't put together the
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: magical drive to make sure the Bucks win the game
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: because he's not playing there you Yeah, I mean, I'm
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: gonna just go with the spread here. I'm gonna take
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: Atlanta to win the game out right, I'm gonna go
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: with the Buccaneers. Um, I mean, if the Buccaneers aren't
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: playing anybody, why would the Falcons? This is it's a
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: big one for me, for Paul. It's gonna be Desmond
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: Ritter though, And I think, yeah, and he's been playing,
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: and they've been playing hard. He's got something to prove. Yeah,
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: I as long as Tom's playing, though, I don't think
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: he will. I think the spread's telling you he's not
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: gonna be in the game very long. I don't know.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: I just saw Trask would was expected to say the
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: Bucks anyway? What they do? One o'clock, the twelve and
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: four Vikings are at the three and thirteen Bears Minnesota
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: by seven. No, Justin Fields, Yeah, three and thirteen. It's
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: crazy one of those three that was us. I should
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: have won that one too. You know what, I'm gonna
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: take Minnesota. Would you say it was mine? In seven? Seven? Yeah? Uh,
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Minnesota. I'm gonna lay the points. I
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: feel like they all of a sudden just have one
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: of those games where they bounced back and play well
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: and put up a bunch of points. No, Justin Jefferson though, right,
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: no idea? All right, see Hurt, I don't know, Oh
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: you saw you said Justin Fields. I'm good justin Field Minnesota.
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Minnesota too, but they're frauds sorry, fraudulent
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: brown out by the Cowboys, blown out by the Packers.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: Not a good football team. Um, so you got both.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: You're taken the points, I am, but just because the
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: Bears are stinky. Oh so you're given the points? Okay? Yeah,
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: I am gonna lay the points to UM Minnesota both ways,
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: perhaps with their first victory of the season by more
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: than a score. Yeah, I'm gonna take Minnesota as well.
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: Uh to cover and win UM Sunday at one, the
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: ten and six Ravens are at the eleven and four
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: Bengals Bengals by seven MS. What are the Sharps No,
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: um no, Lamar Jackson Yep. Yeah, I'm gonna take since
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: he all the way the points. I take the Bengals
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: as well. I think they blow them out, so I
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: think they cover. Bengals Patriots Wildcard round if it comes
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: to that, I don't hate it. I don't hate rather
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: than see the Buffalo again or Kansas City. Yeah, if
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: I had to pick one of those three, I'm taking
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: the Bengals. Yeah, unless you get to watch Joe wa
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: I will take Cincinnati to win. I will take the points. However,
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: really division division game, I think it'll be closer. Yeah,
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Bengals both ways. Sunday at one, the
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: two thirteen and one Texans are at the four eleven
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: and one on Colts. Wow, should have this time the
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: Toilet Bowl Colts by two and a half. Two and
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: a half. Colts are at home. I'm just gonna take
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: them at home. I'll lay the points. I'm not really
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: sure why. So the the Texans are they're locked into
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: the number one pick, right, I believe so because that
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: I think this is two wins in a tie. Yeah.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: Does anybody have three wins? Yeah? Bears the Bears. Yeah,
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: so they're not locked in right now, they're not. Three
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: wins in a tie would be better than three wins, right.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: I take the Colts because the Colts cannot get the
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: number one pick based off of that, and I think
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: the the Texans really want that number one pick. Yeah.
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Houston anyway, um, because I think that
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: they've played reasonably hard down the stretch, but I wish
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: they had locked up the number one seed. To you
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: a point and they could go out and try to
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: win the game without anything in the back of their mind.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: It is interesting the Lovey angle. I don't know if
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: Lovey is gonna be back next year, and maybe he
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: doesn't give it. Yeah, but does he care about that
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: number one pick? Right? I am gonna go with the
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: Colts in this game, last home game. Colts go out
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: with a win. Sunday at one. These seven and nine
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: Jets are at the eight and eight Dolphins. Jets by
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: one and a half. Jets one and a Hay, this
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: is a tough one. This is a tough, tough one. Yeah,
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: I might fade this game. I don't know what that
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: means still, but I'm gonna faded. Um. I'm gonna go
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: Miami at home. I think it's a tough one though.
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: This is a kind of a coin flip. But I'm
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: gonna take the Dolphins and I'll lay the points. I
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: like the Jets. I like the Jets. I like them too.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: It's only one and a half, so I like them
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: to cover two. Yeah. I Skyler Thompson or Teddy Bridgewater
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: or the broken Pinkie against that, against that defense, I
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: think the Jets still play hard. Nope, I don't like it. Yeah,
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: I'll take the Jets too. Um, if the Dolphins lose
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: six in a row to end the season losses, yeah
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: wow Yeah. Mike McDaniel on the Armando reported that yesterday
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: he shouldn't be but he could be. I don't think
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: he should be, right, but they're talking about him and
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: the GM. You know me, I would have fired Chris
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: like all of a sudden, he's gonna get fired. You
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: remember that one right week one when he was running
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: plays instead of taking a knee at the end of
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: the game. I said I'd fired him right now. That's
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: coaching negligence. Well, um, if they can get Sean Payton
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: because they want they wanted Jomon, I don't think it's
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: out of the realm. So this is when they finally
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: get Peyton and Brady and yep yeah Thomas, Yeah, I'm
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: gonna go with the Jets as well. I'm gonna go
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: with the Jets. Yeah. I think that the Dolphins are
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: really in a tailspin. Um Sunday at one, the six
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: and ten Panthers are at the seven and nine Saints,
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: Saints by three by three. Now, what are the sharp
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: snow here? Because the Panthers have been playing well. I
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: know they lost last week to the Bucks, but they
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: have been playing better. Yeah, you know the Saints beat
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: the Eagles last week. Yeah without Jalen Right, yeah yeah, Okay,
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: that's right back to where I am. I have no idea.
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: So we got a lot of we got a lot
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: of sameness going on here. But I'm say they have
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: like the same record they both you know, I know
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: it's tough. I'm gonna I'm just gonna go home team
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: here again in New Orleans. Yeah, I'm gonna do the
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: same thing. I will take the Saints. I'm gonna take
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: the Panthers. So screw you. Yeah, I don't think I
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: don't think you. I don't think your pick is a
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: bad pick. I just think it's two bad teams playing.
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: They have the home team favored by three. I don't
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: think that's a red flag. That's not like the Falcons
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: a bad team over the division champs by four. Bucks
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: are also a bad team, to be fair, but well,
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: they're better team than the Falcons, although they should have
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: lost the Falcons the first time Sunday at one. How
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: do you remember that the seven and nine Browns the
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: roughing the pastor game? Remember that seven to nine Browns
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: are at the eight. Nate Steelers. Steelers by two and
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: a half. Two. Hey, another Patriots game. They need Cleveland
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: to win, and uh yeah, I haven't really seen much
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: of Cleveland last couple of weeks, but I'm gonna take
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: Cleveland on the road. It fields gross having the roof
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: for to Shaun Watson. I hate that. But I think
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: the Steelers. I think they take care of business. I
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: think Henny Pickett's been playing okay. I'm not gonna say
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: he's been playing great, but I think he's been playing okay.
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: May not even close. He doesn't make those pump plus breaks.
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: He doesn't make those plus throws. He big time thrown.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: He does have some mobility, though he does surprise he
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: did something last week that Max's never done. Yeah, he
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: does have a little bit of mobility. I think I'm
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: gonna take the Steelers. It just I don't know. Toma
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: just gets them to five hundred every year. I don't
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: understand it. It's amazing. Yeah, Like every year you think this,
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: there's no way, there's no way this year, no way
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: this year, and he does it again. I think they
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: win this game. I think Pittsburgh wins it. That's your pick. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: I agree. I think Steelers win this game. I I
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: counted them out as dead at the beginning of the
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: season too. I think I still think they say, I
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: thought this is going to be a lost season for them,
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: like who cares, you know, But they've turned it around,
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: you know. So I'll take the Steelers to win this game. Um. Now,
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: we skip over the Patriots at one o'clock and we
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: moved to the four No four or five games. So
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: they want to make sure that everyone's finished before they
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: start playing the late game, before they ensure that Aaron
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: Rodgers makes the playoffs. Right. So four twenty five, we
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: start with the nine, six and one Giants against the
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: thirteen and three Eagles, And I think Hurtz is going
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: to play Eagles by fourteen yikes, and that would signify
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: he is going to play with You're gonna sit people
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: they're playing next week no matter what. I'll take Philly,
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: but give me those that's a lot of points out.
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: Just give me the points. I'll take Philly as well,
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: and I'm gonna do the same thing. I find it
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: interesting though, that the Eagles not that it's going to
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: matter for them, But Gardner Minshew being Jalen Hurts's backup
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: is like, I don't know, like Tyler Huntley being Lamar's backup.
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: It makes a little bit of sense. But their offense
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: has fallen apart because Gardner Minshew can't do any of
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: the things that Jalen Hurts can do, even at like
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: a poor man's level. So yeah, I agree they're stylistically
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: not close. But they did score thirty four points in
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: his first start last week. They did nothing last week,
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: they were out early in apt I'm gonna take Philadelphia
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: both ways. I think that they do everything they can
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: to lock up that number one season. Yeah, the sharps
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: are telling you to go with the number here. So
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: Eagles cover four twenty five. The twelve and four Cowboys
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: are at the seven, eight and one. Commanders Dallas by seven.
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: Ron Rivera still unsure if they're alive for the playoffs.
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: I think Sam Howell started this game. Yeah, oh quarterback Roulette,
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: Oh boy, Uh, I'm gonna take I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: take Dallas. But you know what, I'm gonna take those
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: points on the road and see if it's a close one. Yeah,
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: I think I gonna do. Dallas has like just played
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: a bunch of close games for no reason lately. I
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: feel like they just, you know, haven't really been able
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: to pull away from teams. So I'll do the same thing.
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: I will take them to pull away from Sam Howell. Um,
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: Dallas both ways. Um My instinct says take the points,
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: so I will Cowboys win. But they do not cover,
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: and I could definitely see like a Sam Howell start
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: in him getting knocked out like in the middle of
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: the second quarter, and it comes that Heineken running around rowing,
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: throwing picks, throwing picks and scoring touchdowns fur twenty five. Uh,
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: The ten and six Chargers are at the four and
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: twelve Broncos, playing their tenth home games year. Um, Mike,
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: don't you have for a number on that Chargers by
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: two and a half, Chargers by two and a half? Okay,
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: Charges by two and a half. I have it down
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: here is Denver by two and a half, and it
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: just seems wrong to me. It does. ESPN says Denver
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: by one and a half. Okay, then Denver by two
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: and a half. I didn't make a mistake If that's
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: the same thing that I looked at this way, Denver's
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: favored by two and a half one and a half
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: on you know what, I'm gonna go by a weird
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Denver. I know that's strange, but I'm
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: gonna take them. I think, like, yeah, that's a weird
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: like Charger thing. They're not trying to be like, you know,
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: Johnny know it all. But I think a lot of
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: these spreads are telling you the playoff teams are not
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: playing their players, right yeah, yeah, you know they get
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: this kind of information. We're not, you know, they're in
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: the charges. I haven't been on the Chargers, you know,
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: injury report all week, but whatever. Yeah yeah, yeah, Like
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: if Justin Herbert's not playing, I can understand why the
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: Broncos are favored, right. I don't know why Justin Herbert
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: would play in this game. I mean, they're they got
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: nothing to win, so I'll I'm still gonna go with
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: the Chargers though, because I just think Denver is an
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: absolute dumpster right now, and I think that, I don't know,
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: there's something really wrong in Denver now. The players are
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: trying to come out and defend Russell Wilson on social
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: media and stuff like that. It's just it's a mess.
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the I'm gonna take the Chargers too.
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: I was just gonna say real quick from from rap sheet,
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: I just thought this was interesting. Per Doctors, Damar Hamlin
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: was able to follow directions and even ask who won
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: the game last night? Oh? Like the show on the Doctors.
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: I don't know if this is this is? Is this live? Yeah?
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: You see who won the game? Like, bro, you got
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: no idea what has been I feel terrible that now
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: he's gonna find out that they had to he's gonna
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: be pissed the game. I think it's great. I mean,
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: I think that the fact that these are the kinds
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: of things that you wanted to hear, right, this is
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: what we were talking about all week. You know, it
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: makes some signs that we can say, Okay, it was horrible,
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: but there's gonna be a light at the end of
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: the tunnel. That's great. And you got six million dollars
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: that's great. Well that's what Fred said. You know, you're
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: gonna we're gonna, we're gonna win this to you. But
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: you know serious, if there's any doubt in a player's
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: mind that he wanted them to play. His first question
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: is who one. Yeah, of course he did. You know.
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: It's I mean, it's like my favorite moment in Rocky Too,
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: when when Adrian finally wakes up out of the corm right,
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: she said, I just want to want to thank you.
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: So did he Just so, it's funny that you said
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: that perfectly. It it's completely inappropriate. Life imitates our But
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: when they when they had the news about him. When
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: this morning, as I'm driving in, the first thing I
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: thought about was a gift of Mickey take us like
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: like that. I wanted to, you know, like here we go, like,
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: let's get to training. You're saying praying for me, father
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: to calm. It's like you bust it up tonight. It
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: won't be too bad. Hey, you know, I'm like solely father,
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: thank you, thank you for Father. So um chargers, Chargers win,
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: but they don't cover I'll take the points. Well, Denver's
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: favorite having fun? Yeah, oh den So if the Chargers win,
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: they cover Denver's favored by two and a half. Damn it,
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: I can I know I was confusing with that because
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: I was unsure if I had it right. Um Denver
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: by two and a half. Why damn it? If you
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: think the Chargers are gonna win. Pick the Chargers, all right,
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: Chargers win. Four twenty five, the five and eleven Rams
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: are at the eight and eight Seahawks. Seahawks by six
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: and a half. Os need it, they need it. I'm
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: gonna take the Hawks. I think they get it. I'll
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: lay the points. So which one is this? The NFC
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: West one of them owns one of them and this
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: is I don't I'm not sure about this one, but
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: I'm not sure this one qualifies. Okay, think gets the
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: Rams on the Cardinals, the Niners on the Rams, and
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: I'm not sure how much the other ones all get involved.
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: Pick it straight up then, and I'm gonna take the
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: Seahawks as well. I'm gonna take Seattle. Um, they have
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: something to play for and they will find a way
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: at home, and I'll lay the points. I will take
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: Seattle as well. Four twenty five Sunday, the four and
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: twelve Cardinals are at the twelve and four forty nine Ers,
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: the Niners by fourteen. The Niners do have something to
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: play for because if the Eagles lose, the Niners can
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: be the number one seed. Boy, I'm gonna take the
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: forty nine Ers and yeah, I think they win big.
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna lay the points. I take the forty nine
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: ers as well. And then when we wake up Monday morning,
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: does Cliff Kingsbury still have a job. Yeah, I know
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: everybody thinks he's completely gone. And I just can't imagine
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: that Bidwell eats that money. So it is a lot
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: of money. But he just signed him. Then the team
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: that drafted him. It's an offensive coordinator. But you've been
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: telling me Young Evan all season long, how uninspired the
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: Carinals offenses. It is Cliff Kingsbury. I know, but this
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: is what I'm hearing. I'm just I'm just here to
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: everybody honest, because I like Fred will tell you this.
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: I'd like to know opinions on people before, not after
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: their patriots. Oh you know, if they hire him, I'm
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: going to tell you the greatest thing ever I know
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: because that's what we do around here. So all year
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: you told me, okay, okay, he's no good okay, but
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: to be fair, but with Mac Jones, he's not you
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: no longer saddled with Kyler Murray. With Mac Jones. Yeah,
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: at least Jones can see good luck. But if he's
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: gone from uh, the Cardinals. Don't you think the more
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: attractive option for him is to take over a college program? Yeah,
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: but that that time of years kind of passed though.
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: Why would you like, know what if he wants to
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: be an NFL coach, but he's going to be a
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: head coach in a college program and it's probably be good.
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: What do you but what do you want? What do
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: I want? Does he want to be an NFL head coach?
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: You get to make a lot of money and be
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: in charge. Does you want to be an NFL head coach? Again,
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: you can be down the road, but that's but I
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: think that's a big part of the equation. Yeah, but
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: I think the better road is Evans road. Yeah. If
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: you want to be an NFL head coach, come here,
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: fix fix somebody's offense, and then you become a hot commodity. Yeah,
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: but you make a lot more money and be in
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: total control in college. Okay. One other thing I'll say
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: about the Cardinals, A lot of reports coming out of
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: Arizona is that more than likely DeAndre Hopkins is definitely
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: going to be out in Arizona because they're not thinking
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: that Kyler's going to be ready to even play at all.
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: Next year. So next year it's kind of a lost year.
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: He's got two years left on his contract. We saw
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: a bill with him on NFL Films or whatever, the
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: Hard Knocks or whatever that was going Google Gaga. I've
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: been on that. I'd rather have t Higgins, but I've
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: been on it only because of age, not because of
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: getting up there. Hopkins is a better player. You're right
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: in the wheelhouse that first contract, like Boom. But yeah,
- 1:52:01Speaker 1: I've heard I've heard you a boy. I've heard Alex
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: talk about DeAndre Hopkins. Bill O'Brien and I picked San
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: Francisco both twenty Sunday Night, eight Night Lions against the
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: eight Night Packers, pack by four and a half. Easy
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: pick for me, Go pack Go Green Bay Packers. I
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: will lay the points. I'm taking the Packers. I'm taking
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: them to win big. I've been liking the Packers. I've
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: been liking what I'm seeing. They were looking more and
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: more like the team that they were last year towards
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: the end. Tire. I think it took Rogers a month
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: or two to get on the same page with some
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: of those receivers. I love Christian Watts, that guy's awesome.
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: I like Watson too. I think the Packers win this game,
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: big absolutely uh. Never will I be rooting for a
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: different team more than my pick, and I will Sunday night, folks,
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: this is your upset of the week. Lions win out right,
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: I think I just would that be so beautiful? Yeah,
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: Lions win the game. Not a Rogers guy, just an
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: insufferable boom. Doesn't like him? I like him, um, And
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: the good news is they're rounding into their last year's form,
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: which means they'll lose next week. I like talent, you know.
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: I mean, he's without question, the most talented quarterback and
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: football over the last twenty years. Without I mean, to me,
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: there's not even an argument Mahomes. He's more talented than Mahomes.
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: Mahomes is more like, has the ability to play schoolyard
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: than anybody. But just in terms of watching a guy
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: throw a ball. Yeah yeah, I mean, I don't mean
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: to go all Bill on you. I mean, he's like,
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know how we held him down.
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know how we held him to
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: their season highest point total of the whole year. I
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: don't know how we did that so good. I don't
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: mean to sound like Bill or anything, but his his
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: skill set is the best. I think. Now we go
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: back to one o'clock. Uh sorry, yeah, thank you, And
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: Patriots are a little early. I wasn't ready for that.
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: Are at the twelve and three bills? All right? So
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: this spread is dropping precipitously big time. Based on the
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: Tomorrow Hamblin aftermath. In my opinion, it was as high
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: as nine. I believe on Sunday it was eight and
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: a half. It's down to seven. Buffalo by seven. Who Uh?
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: I think Bill Buffalo is gonna win? Um? I just
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: I just think they have I have too much and
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: the Patriots haven't really been able to solve them. I
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: do think the Patriots, uh, you know what. I'm gonna
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: take the Bills to win, but I'm gonna take the
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: Patriots with the points. I just think the Patriots keep
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: it close. Um. I don't know if they get into
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: the thirties, but I'm gonna say Bill's twenty seven Patriots.
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: What was that number again? Seven? Wow? What do you have?
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: It's not my turn? No, what do you have for
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: a number? I don't have a number. Oh. I think
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: he's just moaning up the spread. I know I wish
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: I could take the Patriots in this game. I just
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: you can. I just can't. I can't. I can't see
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: a formula. And it's not even necessarily about Josh Allen
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: versus the Patriots defense. I think I'm more caught up
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: on the Patriots offense actually moving the ball against the Bills,
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: which has been as much of a problem that I
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: feel like goes under the radar because they didn't force
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: Josh Allen to punt and stuff. They can't move the
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: ball on the Bills defense either, So I just think
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: that the Bills end up winning this game something like
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: twenty seven seventeen, and the Patriots offense just can't score
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: enough points to keep up. Yeah. Yeah, I think we
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: all see a kind of a similar game. I do
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: have pause, and that number dropped, and I think it's
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: dropping because the people thinking like I'm thinking. I think
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: it's much more difficult to get ready to play if
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: you're Buffalo than any of the other thirty one teams,
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: and I think that's going to have an impact. I
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: think that will hurt their preparation this week. I don't
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: think they've thought one bit about a game plan maybe
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: until today, so it was the first day they practice.
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: It's fortunate for them it's a division opponent that they
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: just saw. Yeah, so I don't think it's like the
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: end of the world, but I do think Buffalo is
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: just significantly more talented than the Patriots across the board.
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna go twenty seven thirteen. Yeah. Um, I'm with Evan.
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: I wish I could pick the Patriots. You're allowed to
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: be a big boy. But you know, you know what
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: you said, You're a big boy. You know. Don't tell
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: me that I always picked the Patriots. I don't say. No,
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: I haven't said. I haven't said that this year. I
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: can give you a lot of examples of you picking
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: against the Patriots. Um, and I can't pick them, but
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: I'll take the points. Um, twenty eight, twenty three, that's
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: the score. Three, that's what's going to be. It's like
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: a dramatic pause there. Well, I had to make sure
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: that I was within thee. I knew I could feel
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: like the hamster whe was turning. Yeah, all right, Um,
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: so that's it. Right, there's no Monday night game because
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: last week of the season. No, and I wonder if
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: you know, like the kind of multiple reports about that
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: Cincinnati Buffalo game, no contest or like the eighth you know,
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: eighth stuff to see what was Yeah, that's where I
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: was going. And I just think, doesn't it make a
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: little more sense to like put a decision off until
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: you have to make a decision. I think that's what
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: they're doing. Yeah, like wait to see what happens. Maybe
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: you get lucky, Maybe you get lucky Buffalo wins Kansas
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: City and Cincinnati Louis. Yeah, man, it's unlikely, I get it.
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: But if that happens, then that game truly is irrelevant.
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: Yea perfect But either way, we're playing Sunday at one.
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: It was uncertain up until today in my opinion, but
- 1:57:54Speaker 1: now we know, it seems like it yep yep. So
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: in good news with Damar Hamlin watching on TV right now,
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: the doctors from the UC Health Medical Center are talking
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: and you know, yeah saying he still has a ways
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: to go, but he's you know, communicating, and you know
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: they're still hopeful he's going to resume his life as
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: it was before the incident. I love that he asked
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: who won the game? Did you hear what their response was?
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: They told him that you won because you're here you're here.
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: That's awesome. You won the game. That's awesome. That's really good.
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: That's really good. All right, even even the curmudgeon. Yeah,
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: that's awesome. That's really grinch heart is right, John Rook
