- 9:44[SPEAKER_08]: Now these baby names, people have babies, not as much as they used to, not as much as we need them to, in today's society.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_08]: But as we give them names, and a lot of the names are stupid.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_08]: You see them in the paper, a new strucky all the time, weird names and weird spellings of common names.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_08]: We don't agree with any of that, obviously.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_08]: But they've come out with a list of the top boys and girls names for 2025, a nationwide granted.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_08]: It may be different near neck of the woods, but for boys, the most popular name again this year is Liam, LIA, I'm actually Liam, I wouldn't want that one.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_08]: No way, it's number two, Oliver's number three.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_08]: Theodore is number four.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_08]: You're always going to be called Ted.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_08]: No one's called Theodore and unless you're the beaver.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_08]: Henry's number five and James is number six common names.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_08]: From the old days, there's no Joseph or Jeffrey or Peter or any of those in here.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_08]: Elijah is number seven.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_08]: Mateo is number eight.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_08]: Whatever.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_08]: William is number nine and Lucas is ten.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_08]: There's a couple
- 11:04[SPEAKER_08]: really want to grow up being known as Liam.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_08]: I wouldn't.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_08]: But over there for the young ladies the most popular girls name is Olivia.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_08]: As in Olivia Newton, John.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_08]: Now Olivia is a good name.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_08]: Charlotte number two is a good name.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_08]: Emma number
- 11:27[SPEAKER_08]: Amelia, as an antimelia's pizza, Sophia, as in Sophia of her garage number five, that's spelled with a pH, because Sophia with an African's in at number nine, Mia is number six, Isabella is seven.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_08]: That's a good name.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_08]: Evelyn, that's a little fast.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_08]: First, Athel in Gertrude and those people.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_08]: Gert.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_08]: Don't women name Gert anymore.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_08]: I always was a Gert.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_08]: Remember he was a dirty Gert and all that?
- 11:54[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, there's no Gerts anymore.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_08]: Bertroots, and Eliada is number 10.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, Social Security releases the list of the 1,000 most popular baby names each year in order of Motherly State.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_08]: The full list is available on the Social Security website.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_08]: That's all right, it's a good thing.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_08]: They would know.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_08]: They would know.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_08]: Ah... Now, you know, names change.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, in popularity.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_08]: But generally, these names that came out today are about the same as the year before, but... Nobody named their kid Liam back when I was a kid.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_08]: Nobody.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_08]: Nobody in kindergarten when I was going to kindergarten was a Liam.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_08]: But you might have six of them in there now.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_08]: You never know.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_08]: Anybody having a kid?
- 12:56[SPEAKER_08]: Anybody impregnated right now, they got to think of it.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_08]: Now, how much, what's the deal in the hospital?
- 13:04[SPEAKER_08]: Is it never been in part of that because I'm barren, but oh, that's a name, too.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_08]: And so what I'm kind of interested in is what's the procedure there in a hospital?
- 13:22[SPEAKER_08]: What do they do?
- 13:24[SPEAKER_08]: cough it up real quick or the name are they you know as soon as you're delivered or is it before they you can't leave the hospital to you have a name how's that work anybody know i know for most of you it's been a while since you yeah let's see what the top baby names are in New York well this is for two thousand twenty four but
- 13:51[SPEAKER_08]: Similar, Liam is number one, Noah, Lucas, Elijah.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know, Ethan, I'm sorry, Ethan.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_08]: And Joseph, there was a good comedy.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_08]: Theodore Oliver David, those are the New York names.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_08]: And among the girls, Mia, Emma Sophia of Olivia is a bell.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_08]: They're same names, basically.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_08]: Here in New York, I don't know if you go to other states is it much different?
- 14:20[SPEAKER_08]: Like, if you go to Alaska, I don't know, it's a different than a pretty much a Harper gets in the list of women, pretty much the same, what about if you go down south, Mississippi, yeah, heart of the south.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_08]: William John James had the man, no, that's good.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_08]: Then Noah, Liam, Elijah, wailin.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_08]: Among your women, Ava, Olivia, I mean, Harper's in there.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_08]: And Mary, Charlotte, and pretty much as Ivy makes a list too.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_08]: So those are the names, those are the names.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_08]: If you were a naming a child and needed advice, you can call the hotline and we will provide.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_08]: said advice.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_08]: All right.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_08]: It will not be a common name spelled with an odd spelling, and it will not be any of these weird names you see now.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_08]: It'll be a conventional name.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_08]: There you go.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_08]: 755 1240 the phone number if you'd like to give us a call to be on the show of

- 16:11[SPEAKER_08]: I'm sorry.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_08]: And it happens in the city.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not here to sit there and pick on the town, don't worry.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_08]: But remember the Stuart Store on Washington, see, oh my god, that was brutal.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_08]: What is it with these local, local people?
- 16:26[SPEAKER_08]: And I was one of them.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_08]: I was one of them, and I had things I regretted too.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_08]: But good guy, you know, just approve of them.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_08]: People want to invest in, you know, that new Stuart Store at Massey and Crawfine,
- 16:43[SPEAKER_08]: yeah that's probably going to be assessed for more than the entire residential block behind it so we should want that kind of development and we should welcome it so anyway just a thought just a thought let's see a 70 days for the Iran war
- 17:11[SPEAKER_08]: He's not a big deal, I don't know if it is or not.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_08]: Let's see.

- 23:25[SPEAKER_12]: In car dealer years, that's like 70.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_12]: We're basically a golden retriever with financing options.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_12]: Wooo!
- 23:32[SPEAKER_12]: All month long, we're celebrating with FX Superbise.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_12]: In store giveaways, and deal so good, somebody should probably check on Frankie.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_12]: We've got new Honda's, pre-owned Honda's,
- 23:43[SPEAKER_12]: Civics, Accords, CRVs, HRVs, Pilots, and Ridgelines, vehicles that are great on gas, dependable, and built to keep on running.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_12]: Unlike me, after one flight of stairs.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_12]: For 10 years, FX Capriar Honda has helped North Country drivers find vehicles they love.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_12]: So come celebrate with us, all may-long FX Capriar Honda, Brad Mysteried in Watertown, right next to I81.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_16]: I'm Junior Dinkle, and this anniversary party has giveaways, super buys, and absolutely no awkward dancing for me.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_18]: We're interesting talk around the clock depend on the news and talk authority WATM-1240.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_08]: Hey, I'm 1240 WATM, you know one of the news stories might be it's kind of interesting.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if you'll see it in the mainstream media.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_08]: But it's something that slipped in under the radar here.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_08]: And that's May 5th City of Watertown put out a press release.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_08]: City of Watertown releases RFP for Municipal Arena naming rights.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_08]: They think they're going to get money off the arena.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_08]: It's down at the Fairgrounds, I'm crafting it.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_08]: Right.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_08]: And it's one of these schemes, like the T signs.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not against that either, but they're not having trouble selling them.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_08]: But the press release says the city has issued a request for proposals seeking qualified partners, these aren't just people, these are partners for naming rights at the water terminus Polarina.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_08]: Now, you've got to remember, you've got an enami, you've also got to change all the letter head, signage, and the outside, it's not an easy thing.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_08]: So you can't just say to somebody, who gives you a couple of thousand bucks and you put your name.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_08]: No, I mean, it's a big expense there.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_08]: But this goes on to say, this opportunity to allow businesses or organizations to partner with the city by securing naming rights to a prominent community facility that hosts a wide range of events, programs, and activities, which is true.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_08]: And that means, you know, like if it were the Grammarina,
- 26:27[SPEAKER_08]: That means Mel Bossler, whenever he does a sports jersey, but tonight at the Grammar, you know, whatever you're playing.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_08]: So you get your name out there, not that I want my name out.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_08]: Proposals can be submitted, or no later than June 2nd at 11 a.m.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_08]: There's a download here, you can link to it.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_08]: It's been advertised in the waterchomp time, so no business.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_08]: Let's see, please know that vendors must create an account in the city's Evo bid system to download the RFP documents once registered vendors will receive notifications of any updates related to the RFP and questions to the city manager's office.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_08]: Now, this is an interesting story.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_08]: This has been talked about before.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_08]: is somebody going to come forward and say I'll give you some money and we talked about this with Councilman Osborne the other day.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_08]: How much is enough?
- 27:31[SPEAKER_08]: Like if I don't know who that would be good for.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_08]: I mean obviously my guess is and I'm just an observer.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_08]: I don't have any insight information.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_08]: Wouldn't be surprised me if that was ended
- 27:52[SPEAKER_08]: that would not surprise me.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know how much it compares that to put up.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_08]: 100,000 a year for 10 years.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_08]: That's not much money.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_08]: Really?
- 28:02[SPEAKER_08]: Look at the amount of TV ads they do.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_08]: And I think it'll be a real certainly would promote the name and the image, because that's how they promote themselves.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_08]: FX.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_08]: Or we could just rename it, Billy's Arena, yeah.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_08]: Or maybe somebody else would want it.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_08]: And I just threw out that figure of honor, grant a year for 10 years, could be anything.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_08]: You could bid 50 bucks and he's guys to take it.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_08]: And what would happen?
- 28:39[SPEAKER_08]: And I was thinking about this this morning.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_08]: If I just had a lot of money, and I said, I want to name the Donald J. Trump Arena.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_08]: $100,000 a year.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_08]: That's a lot of money for these people.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_08]: It's a lot of money.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_08]: It really isn't.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_08]: But to them it is.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_08]: And what would happen?
- 28:58[SPEAKER_08]: What would the doc say?
- 29:01[SPEAKER_08]: Because his his his woke buddies and chew him up alive.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_08]: We're doing something like that.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_08]: So I can't imagine he could vote for her.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_08]: But.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_08]: Or if you wanted to name it the.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_08]: Alexandria Ocasio Cortez Arena.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_08]: And I just wanted to do.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_08]: I don't want my name on it.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_08]: I, you know, I'm famous enough, if I wanted to put that name on it and I gave them enough money, would they do it?
- 29:29[SPEAKER_08]: What is the price?
- 29:31[SPEAKER_08]: Everybody has a price.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_08]: What is it with these people?
- 29:35[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, just a thought.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_08]: Good afternoon around the air.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_10]: Hey, Jeff.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_10]: I just want to make a couple comments on just two areas.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_10]: So first I want to say that, uh,
- 29:46[SPEAKER_10]: I know the hot topic over the last couple days, I don't know if you've seen it's how basically they're saying how we don't have enough baseball or softball fields for the children and the water-tone school district and I don't understand why they can't just use a field.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_10]: I mean there's lots of fields or fields behind Wiley and I mean back when I played sports that's all we had.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_08]: We used to play ball.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_08]: There was a little field.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, we played it behind Sherman Street School or over behind the end of Nicarb That street over there, Eric Boy Avenue.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_08]: There was a small field.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, there are, I mean, honestly, I was a soccer softball.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_10]: Those are probably the two easiest sports that they say.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_10]: You would have seen a field with some bases.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, you know, I don't understand what the big deal is.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_10]: And honestly, I used to know some of the burrary from an athlete, I'll say, in this area.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_10]: And they said, oh, told me.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_10]: you know some of the best athletes come from the crappiest plate fields because once they start getting into these like turf or you know sandfield it's cake it's cake farms so I don't really understand you know all of a sudden this push where you know did they say there's you know it's like this sign out in front of the high school it's like really I mean somebody said it broke how long has it been broken and why didn't you fix it?
- 31:08[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I mean I'll say that down a little ridiculous that they did that and then the other comment I just wanted to make and just it just something that happened to me in the past year that this doesn't sit well with me still but I'm going to throw it out there so I was watching some reruns of Charlie Kirk debates with some of the leftist side and he brought
- 31:36[SPEAKER_10]: You know, the left really is, you know, they try to say out there the color and the other people's views, but they really aren't.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_10]: So I'll say that I had some friends and I did have some businesses that I would go patronize too.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_10]: I knew that they were, that we probably didn't have the same idea this far as.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_10]: Hmm.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_10]: Politics go.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_10]: But I never really talked about it with them, so whatever.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_10]: And then, you know, with the last election was Trump's and whatnot, I became a little more outspoken about my political rights.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_10]: And it is just funny to me how a tacked I was by these people who I would have called friends and I had patronized their business.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_10]: No, my god.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_10]: For my political views.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_10]: And what I will say, and I'm not in the name names, I'm not in the name anything else, but, you know, some of these people were prominent areas.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_10]: One of them actually worked for another local radio station.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_10]: Honestly, to listen to that radio station anymore, they're not affiliated with you guys, I'm worried.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_19]: No, that's okay.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_10]: Because of these views and just because how I was especially attacked, and... Well, we have sensible views here.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_10]: Oh, 100%.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_10]: I'm not going to say anything, but I do know that, I think I've had a conversation Mr. Levin at one point in the past, and he and I probably don't share very similar political views either.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_10]: However, I will commend him in the sense that he is...
- 33:00[SPEAKER_10]: You can have a sensible conversation with, and you can have different different sizes of the...
- 33:06[SPEAKER_08]: I'll have to try that someday, right?
- 33:08[SPEAKER_08]: We don't know.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_10]: I don't know.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_10]: Like I said, I know I've met him a handful of times, and I said, you know, he's always a very, very nice man, and, you know, I... Friends have a person here.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_10]: Much comment him for that.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_10]: So I don't, I don't mind listening to his radio stations.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_10]: I actually prefer listening to his radio stations all the time.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_10]: But, um... Well, who's that?
- 33:25[SPEAKER_10]: Who's that?
- 33:28[SPEAKER_08]: So somebody said something on the air that was too political for you?
- 33:32[SPEAKER_10]: I'm sorry.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_08]: What do they say on the other stations?
- 33:35[SPEAKER_08]: Not naming them of course.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_10]: No, no, no, it wasn't even on the other stations.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_10]: It was like, I knew them personally and essentially, you know, they told me how I was wrong and I was a bad person and, you know, they essentially, like, they didn't want to be my friend anymore.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_10]: They like, they wanted to essentially just
- 33:51[SPEAKER_08]: they want nothing to do well among democrats and liberals survey show that a large percentage are willing to break off relationships of any kind over over political ideology much less likely among republicans although it still happens but yeah i think that's terrible i mean uh...
- 34:14[SPEAKER_08]: Well, the good thing is, yeah, I'm a lot of people here in town don't even know who the president is.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_08]: So I mean, as far as getting into political discussions, you haven't got to worry about it.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_10]: But yeah, I just think it's funny and, you know, one of a lot of these people were very prominent business people.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_10]: And I guess I patronized their business, even though I knew that we probably didn't share the same political beliefs.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_10]: But I didn't care.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_10]: We went, you know, I patronized their business.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_10]: We had to share it interest right like their services and whatever it was they were providing Right, I didn't care what they were And I don't either But like I said it was enough of a storm in their side that I supported Trump or I had different political views on things that they just They felt it necessary to you know call me a bad person or say whatever it might be like I mean Honestly, I feel like it's almost narcissistic
- 35:08[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, I had one of them reached out to me and just said, you know, I know you're a good person.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_10]: I don't understand why you could be supporting Trump or why you could be doing that.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_10]: I'm just like, what?
- 35:18[SPEAKER_10]: And stand a bit of me.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_08]: It's crazy.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, you know, you do business.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_08]: I look at, I, I got people who I know are good friends of mine who voted for Kamala Harris.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_08]: I don't care.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_10]: You know?
- 35:30[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, I, I said, I mean, because we can rent it for us, and especially, you know, it's
- 35:37[SPEAKER_10]: I'm just like, you know, we're kind of ran in similar circles, but, you know, it's just funny to see how it's almost like, uh...
- 35:45[SPEAKER_08]: I even have an employee who voted for Kamala Harris, can you believe that?
- 35:49[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I got it just fire up, not just kidding.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_08]: Oh no, I mean, well, I have to have one because, you know, the state says so, but, you know, it's, uh...
- 35:59[SPEAKER_08]: There are protected class, I guess, and whatever, but in any event, yeah, I mean, I certainly wouldn't hate somebody because they voted for Kamala.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, like I said, I just find it very interesting, you know?
- 36:14[SPEAKER_10]: It is what it is that the other day about, you know, it's just like I thought very highly of the CPC people, you know, despite of their political views and, you know, I guess that I didn't care.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_10]: I liked them as a person, I thought they were
- 36:27[SPEAKER_08]: You know, otherwise somebody who I could have an intelligent conversation Now, do you have a, um, are you in total agreement with whatever, if you have a partner in life or whatever, husband, boyfriend, partner, whatever, if, if we have similar political views?
- 36:46[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, let's say we have pretty similar political views.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, yeah, I'll say we have pretty similar political views, so.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_10]: more, I a little more tolerant of certain things that he might be, but the same time where we're pretty similar.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_08]: Is he Maga?
- 37:09[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I would say we're both pretty Maga.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_08]: All right.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_08]: Well, that's good.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, but yeah.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_08]: Well, sounds good.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_10]: I just wanted to make a comment on that, so.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_08]: All righty.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_08]: All righty.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_08]: Thank you.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_08]: All right.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_08]: uh... blame in the democrats all three parties uh... uh... bad people and it's not just a democrats thank you never get a by and you know i agree i'm not a not a hater man and i don't think everything trumped does is honky door either so uh... you know that's the problem is there's there's this feeling that you have to go along with the program no matter what and you see that among the liberals too i mean oh my god it's crazy
- 37:58[SPEAKER_08]: Uh, let's see.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_08]: Hey, do you see where the IDA?
- 38:01[SPEAKER_08]: That's the industrial development agency.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_08]: Jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_08]: Flames are getting money back from that guy who was going to build that solar panel factory out near Dexter.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_08]: He was going to create jobs, jobs, jobs, and said, yep, sure, or, man, then he ended up leaving town.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_08]: And after months, they said the head, I read in the papers and they said we had two lawyers negotiating for months.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_08]: Well, the 1.05 million that they say they're getting back, that'll be mostly chewed up by those two lawyers.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_08]: And why did you have to do that?
- 38:38[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, that...
- 38:42[SPEAKER_08]: I was just an... A distant observer from that whole thing, and you could tell that was dirty from the beginning, that whole thing.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_08]: now i don't know whether what the deal is i'm getting this call money back and then where's that kind of go and you know what this is kind of interesting as nothing i'm not going to get into personalities and so on as we have a lot of but we have people who we put in charge of expanding and overseeing cops of money
- 39:14[SPEAKER_08]: School's over to 112.2 million.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_08]: Now I'm not saying he's good or bad or whatever.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_08]: Nobody knows anything about it.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_08]: Who is he?
- 39:22[SPEAKER_08]: What's his background?
- 39:25[SPEAKER_08]: Would you give them 112 dollars to manage?
- 39:28[SPEAKER_08]: No, I don't know.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_08]: And we do that with all these agencies, administrators and all that we don't know who these people are.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_08]: And then they're setting the priorities for all of us.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_08]: Hey, did they pass a state budget or not?
- 39:48[SPEAKER_08]: Governor Hulkel says they did.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_08]: The speaker says, no, I don't know what's going on down in all the knee, but they're going to have that P to Territacks, the New York City.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_08]: Not a lot of details.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if it's going to be available elsewhere.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_08]: We hope it is.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_08]: We hope we can have one up here, too.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_08]: billionaires and big corporations.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_08]: They're all bad and get them.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_08]: Get them.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_08]: Yep.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_08]: Alrighty.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_08]: Well, no no no suggestions for naming the arena and are there any names it would be off limits?
- 40:36[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, what is
- 40:41[SPEAKER_08]: Like I said, if somebody came along and had enough money and wanted to call the Donald J. Trump arena, would that be okay, as long as they paid something, or you know, obviously if you want to call it whatever, I just don't know, maybe the station here could put in a bid or something, you know, be a good promotional thing, you know, get your name out
- 41:10[SPEAKER_18]: All right, listen, we're gonna do a break and we'll be back with more in a moment.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_18]: Get into it and nearly amazed what you get out of it.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_18]: We all have cans and bottles.

- 44:33[SPEAKER_08]: Hey, I'm 1240 W. You know, I was on a bus driver thing.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_08]: I don't really want to work, so I... And maybe I'm too old to be a driver.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_08]: But, um... Would you want me to be in a bus driver?
- 44:46[SPEAKER_08]: I've got a clean driving record.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_08]: No accidents or tickets or tickets or anything like that.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_08]: No criminal record?
- 44:54[SPEAKER_08]: Nothing.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_08]: and you can call me all sorts of names and many of you do, but clean is the house tooth.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_08]: So whenever you're good candidate to be bus driver and unless there's an age restriction, I understand that.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_08]: I just don't know if I wanted it.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, that's a lot of work.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_08]: Good afternoon around the air.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_08]: Hi, Jeff Graham, it's Amy Horton.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_08]: Amy Horton.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_08]: Oh my God.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_09]: I wanted to call you because the last girl had was talking about what was such a big fuss with the water town city school district and the fields.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_09]: And I was that person that went to the board meeting and said something about the fields.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_09]: And the fuss is that, yes, anyone can play on any field and just put baseball bases out, of course.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_09]: That's appropriate for younger children.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_09]: What that school district hasn't done is it's been what I believe probably the last time that that's the field that is on campus the last time they were actually games played on it was in 2001 I graduated in 2002 it's it's terrible I mean when we played a game at North Elementary so the school district pays the city to utilize their fields we went
- 46:22[SPEAKER_09]: We played Fulton and the Fulton parents were talking about how poor our facilities are.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_09]: And everything that school is about is everything is equal for everyone, right?
- 46:35[SPEAKER_08]: So they said...
- 46:37[SPEAKER_09]: They love that.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_09]: So you're not making everything equal because you're totally separating two groups based on softball.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_08]: Do you think, you obviously are one of the people who's been critical of this superintendent and there's 15 different superintendents in the county and there's probably not a dime for the difference between any of them, but do you feel the public or parents have any meaningful input into school affairs?
- 47:13[SPEAKER_09]: Honestly, first off I'll say, I think our superintendents
- 47:19[SPEAKER_09]: like what and I think he had I mean I don't know if I could pinpoint exactly what I would say is like wonderful he's not he's not done anything that's been but you've got I mean he makes what you said well what I want to say to you is that everyone needs checks and balances and even myself included and that's where
- 47:46[SPEAKER_09]: we are lacking in our school district is putting those places of checks and balances on the market but that's true in our local governments these administrators generally do what they want it is and I mean you know it was just such there are so many inflated items on that budget of new shiny things of new tools of making things look and appear better than actually
- 48:15[SPEAKER_09]: taking those money and putting them towards things in my opinion that are needed much more.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_09]: And when he decided to slide in this $130,000 new LED sign at the high school, it was at the end of the meeting and no one was going to ask any questions on the board, I'm sitting there thinking, how much is this thing cost?
- 48:40[SPEAKER_09]: Yes, in theory it would be nice, yes it would be nice to have a new sign out there.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_09]: Randy Richardson, of course, the voice of reasons that how much will this cost and that's where he brought that out.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_09]: The superintendent really wanted this to just slide in through.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_08]: Well, actually, I think they could have if he had just spent the money, nobody would have questioned it.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_08]: He could have said, well, it's not new dollars.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_08]: That's what they like just not new dollars.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_08]: Well, the real dollars being spent.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_08]: And they said that the sign is
- 49:12[SPEAKER_08]: parallel to Washington Street, it should be perpendicular.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_08]: And therefore, it's a safety hazard.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know who put it in originally.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_08]: But it would seem to me, I don't know how those things are made, but you could move it.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, the one that's currently there is like a structure with brick.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_09]: They were just going to take that all down and then the new one, I believe,
- 49:39[SPEAKER_09]: at least what they presented was also like with brick and then it but it's made out of it's the same company to put up our scoreboard at the turf.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_09]: I mean it would be a nice sign but we really at this point don't need to send that kind of money on something that's not necessary.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_09]: He tried to say that it would be good because they could put out school closings and you know messages right away well if the school is closed.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_09]: and we all can get those messages in two seconds on our cell phones.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_08]: Right.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, it's like a lot of things.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_08]: It's like that door they put in the third four city hall.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_08]: They just did it because they wanted it.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_08]: And generally these administrators can expand pretty much what they want.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_08]: Nobody's going to say anything.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_09]: Right.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_08]: Especially a school board.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_08]: You know, they're like,
- 50:39[SPEAKER_09]: neutered people in life they don't you know i just want to see them actually do something for the baseball and softball teams whether i have to play baseball or not i wouldn't matter it's just it's it's so unfair and unfortunate for those kids that they so you uh... you've been taken around a while we're leading we're reading the list of popular baby names
- 51:03[SPEAKER_08]: And I know you have children.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_08]: If you were to have a baby boy and what would you have one of those baby names?
- 51:11[SPEAKER_08]: Amy?
- 51:12[SPEAKER_09]: One of my children is named Ivy.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_08]: Ivy?
- 51:16[SPEAKER_08]: Now, if you had a new baby girl, what would you name it?
- 51:21[SPEAKER_09]: Um, I'm not going to have any more children, but I don't know.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know that answered.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_08]: How about Sophia?
- 51:30[SPEAKER_08]: I like that name.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_08]: You don't like it?
- 51:33[SPEAKER_09]: Too popular.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_08]: How about for boys?
- 51:36[SPEAKER_08]: I hate this Liam stuff, don't you?
- 51:39[SPEAKER_09]: I don't have a Liam.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_08]: There's just too much of that stuff going around.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_09]: I was probably going with Charles.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_08]: Charles, King Charles, yes.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_09]: It's a nice, strong name.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_08]: I know a good girl's name, Millie.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_08]: How about Millie?
- 51:56[SPEAKER_09]: Millie is a great name.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_08]: Whatever happened to her, I thought she was going to run for school board.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_08]: I went out and got petitions for her, and then she threw them away.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I think that it's, you know, you feel defeated that she spent so much time and she really, really cares and there's very few people that truly care.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_08]: What's going to happen with the, uh, the she shoved that cop or not?
- 52:26[SPEAKER_09]: I mean, I've seen the video and no.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_08]: I'll come to the rest of us can't see the video.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know, ask Millie.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I did ask her.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_08]: Now, what's the video show?
- 52:40[SPEAKER_09]: Does not show anything of what they've tried to portray?
- 52:45[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_09]: They've tried to say, I mean, it's a little bit ludicrous.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_09]: I'll let her speak on that.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_08]: I guess that's why they won't let us see the video.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_09]: I got to run, but you help us get a baseball and stuff ball field for our kids at Watertown with $10 million budget.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_08]: OK, well, I have no influence, but I'll try.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_08]: I hate it.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_08]: Thank you, by now.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, Mr. Commissioner, Mr.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_08]: Superintendent, I would like a baseball and softball field for Ms. Horton.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_08]: And take it off.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, we're strapped for funds.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_08]: No, we can't.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_08]: Well, we spent $112 million.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_08]: It's incredible what they're spending.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_08]: All right, that's a quick one.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_08]: Go ahead, you're on the air.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, Jeff, that scoreboard we're talking about at the turf field.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_11]: That was almost a million dollars.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_08]: Wow.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, you could, you could hire a lot of tutors to get their test scores up with that kind of money.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_11]: But I had a solution years ago.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_11]: They were playing baseball there and it up to 2000 and a seven, I guess.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_11]: But.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_11]: Some of our group, one of our fall balls in a girl in the hatch, so then they put up a backstop, a new backstop, but they don't have any games here, but my solution went back then was, the booster club, I was a number of booster club, and rather than buying out field fence, it was lasted two years, my idea was to pay to use the third grounds baseball field for our home games, and we would have had enough money where the kids could have played on that field under the likes for 10 years.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_08]: Well, that would have been nice.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_08]: I would have certainly been in favor of that.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_11]: And listen, I mean, well, yeah, it was $100 a hundred dollars.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_11]: He's very cheap to play under the likes.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_11]: They maintained it into a pair of it.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_11]: Then I thought about moving the girl's softball team to that to the field where the baseball team was because it would be less dangerous, okay?
- 54:37[SPEAKER_11]: Because they play over the North and the fields over the North to you and I are not very good at all.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_11]: That's why I never played there.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_19]: Right.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_11]: I paid to play a JCC and I paid to play elsewhere, but they were terrible to fields.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_08]: All right, well listen, I got a run-off.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_08]: All right.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_08]: All right.
