Are you ready for God's Word today? We're in a series entitled Favor.

In this series that I started last week, we're going to jump into part two of that series.

And I just believe that one word from God will change our situation.

Amen. We just got to hold on to what God's about to do, because He is about

to do something amazing.

And we are glad that we're alive today. Thank you guys for all you guys do in the back.

And I just appreciate all of that. But as I was putting together the reels,

it was just like God was putting together the pieces of Epicenter.

I was listening to the message, you know, over and, you know,

even after I preached it, I didn't even realize I said some of the words that I did.

And whenever I did, it just began to illuminate on the inside of me because it's preparing

not only just Epicenter Church, but it's preparing you as an individual as you

grab a hold of this Word and in this series what God wants to do.

Because we're looking at the book of Ruth and Ruth's story,

and as that began to unfold last week, the Lord began to show me some things,

even in my own life, in my personal life,

and our ministry with Epicenter and with our ministry, with our evangelism ministry,

even with our podcast ministry, the Lord was just showing me how he's putting

together the pieces of the puzzles.

And, you know, sometimes when

you put a puzzle together, there's certain puzzles that go right together.

And then there's those difficult puzzles.

Have you ever put together a difficult puzzle? There's those difficult puzzles

that take a little bit of time.

But, you know, I don't know about you, but when I put together a puzzle,

I want to be able to accomplish it that night.

Anybody else like that? I mean, I want to get it complete. I want to see the

final piece put into that puzzle.

But, you know, so many times that's what we want, but that's not what we get.

But if we go ahead and walk out the process, we've got to, first off, trust the process.

And as we trust the process and as we walk out the process of our life,

God begins to take and put together the pieces of the puzzle.

And so I want to entitle this message today, Favor in the Field.

There's favor in the field. See, your next blessing may be hidden in your next step.

So the word today is to encourage you is keep taking your steps.

But you must take your steps in the field because your next blessing may be
3:40
hidden in your next step.

And that next step could be in the field that you're in right now.

See, farmers plant long before harvest appears.

They have to plant and then they have to wait before the harvest even comes up.

But they've got to plant at the right time and in the right season.

And so I want you to look at the book of Ruth, Ruth chapter number two.

And I'm going to read a lengthy scripture today.

Luke chapter number two.

And I do want to encourage you to read the book of Ruth this week.

If you can, just take some time out and read the book of Ruth,

because that's what we're going to be in for the month of August for a while

until the Lord tells me to move on.

But I feel that God's putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

What we've got to prepare for is the harvest that is to come.

But we've got to recognize where we're at in the field of.

The blessings are going to chase us down. And so let's look at Ruth chapter
4:56
number two, and we're going to start in verse number eight.

The Bible says, Boaz went over and said to Ruth, listen, my daughter,

stay right here with us when you gather grain.
5:09
Do not go to another to the other fields. Stay right behind the young women working in my field.

See which part of the field they are harvesting and then follow them.

I will have warned the young men not to treat you roughly.
5:26
And when you are thirsty, help yourself to the water they have drawn from the well.

In verse number 10, Ruth fell at his feet and thanked him warmly.

What have I done to deserve such kindness? She asked. I am only a foreigner.

Verse number 11. Yes, I know, Boaz said, but I also know about everything you

have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband.

I have heard how you left your father and mother and your own land to live here

among complete strangers.

May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge,

reward you fully for what you have done.

I hope I continue to please you, sir, she replied.

You have comforted me by speaking such kindly to me, even though I am not one of your workers.

At mealtime, Boaz called her, Come over here and help yourself to some food.

You can dip your bread into the sour wine.

So she sat with the harvesters, and Boaz gave her some roasted grain to eat.

She ate all she wanted and still had some left over.

When Ruth went back to work again, Boaz ordered the young men,

let her gather grain right among the sheaves without stopping her, and pull out some,

heads of barley from the bundles and drop them on purpose for her.

Let her pick them up and do not give her a hard time.

Let's pray this morning. Father, I thank you for this word today.

I thank you for the power of your word. And I just pray that,

God, your word will go upon your people's ears and upon their hearts.

And God, may they apply this word upon their life today.

God, because today it's not by might nor by power, but it's by your spirit.

And God, I loose your Holy Spirit in this place today.

See, favor often shows up while you're working, not while you're waiting,

but while you're working.

It will show up because there's favor in the field.

It's kind of like there was a farmer who kept plowing.

Let me just share that story. There was a young farmer.

He experienced one of the driest seasons his community had ever seen in years.

Day after day, the sun beat down and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

Many of the neighboring farmers gave up.
8:39
They parked their tractors, left their fields untouched, and decided there was
8:45
no use planting because they couldn't see any rain coming.
8:51
But one older farmer continued working every morning.
8:56
He plowed the ground, planted the seed, and cared for his fields as if the rain

had already been promised.

One afternoon, someone asked him, why are you working so hard when it hasn't rained in weeks?

The old farmer smiled and replied, because when the rain comes,

I don't want to be learning how to farm.
9:28
I want to be ready for the harvest.

A few weeks later, the rain finally came.
9:37
The fields that had been prepared produced harvest.
9:43
The unprepared fields, they remained empty.
9:48
See, that is exactly what Ruth did.

She couldn't see her future. She didn't know Boaz was in the field.

She didn't know she was standing in the middle of God's plan.

See, somebody today, you may be right now in a season where it is so dry and
10:14
you can't see the outcome because of the dryness that's in your life.

And the Lord's saying today, you need to keep your hand on the plow.

And as you keep your hand, you may not see the harvest. You may not see the rain coming yet.

But the Lord says, what you have deep on the inside is the promise that I have given you.

And you need to hold to that promise. And as you hold to the promise, watch what God will do.

Because I hear the Lord saying today, the rain is on its way.

And just as the Lord spoke it to Ruth and to the workers around Ruth,

there were handfuls on purpose coming her direction.

She didn't even know it was coming, but Boaz already sent forth the order in.

The Lord come to tell you today that the order has already been sent in,

and the handfuls of blessings are on its way.

See, last week we talked about just the little grains that Ruth collected.
11:27
But today God is about to expand the blessings of God in your life.
11:33
And not just little tiny grains are you going to pick up.
11:38
But the Lord says today in the dry season of your life, God says get ready.
11:44
Because handfuls on purpose are coming your direction.

I just speak it into your life right now because the handfuls on purpose are
11:55
coming your direction the things God has promised you they're going to begin to trickle in.

Just like it happened for Ruth, handfuls of big barley.

He said, just drop them. Just drop, and all she has to do is pick them up.

All she has to do, get ready. You're about to just be the collector.

See, the collector has been chasing you for too long, and now you're going to

be the collector of the blessings on purpose.

I don't know who I'm speaking to today, But the blessings of God are about to come your direction.

And all you have to do is simply keep on walking and begin to pick them up one right after another.

See, you're going to have so much that you're going to have to have a backpack.

And then your backpack's going to get so full that you're going to have to get a wagon.

And then your wagon's going to get so full you're going to have to get a big trailer,

and utility trailer and then your utility trailer is going to get so big that

you're going to have to get a semi,

come on who am i speaking to today i just hear the lord saying today the rain

is on its way you need to just continue,

plowing the field even though it doesn't make sense what you're in right now

doesn't make sense the job you're at right now may not make sense.

I remember when I first got saved and I didn't have a job.
13:34
It was in that season. I used to mow yards all the time, me and my brother.
13:39
We called it Mow It and Blow It Lawn Service.
13:43
I mowed it and he blowed the money. No, I'm just saying.
13:49
Probably the other way around. It was the older brother.
13:55
But anyways, I remember I was coming to a season where the mowing season was going to stop.

And then I was without a job.
14:03
And so I had just gotten saved and I started praying for a job.

And most of you know this story.

And as I went to this small little church in Kingfisher, I'll never forget the

pastor asked, does anybody have any prayer requests?

Man, I've raised my hand up. It was at the end of service. I raised my hand
14:22
up. I said, I need a job, but I don't want just any job.
14:27
I want a job that whoever I'm working with can teach me the word of God.
14:34
And so after service, his wife came up to me. She was the assistant manager
14:37
at Walmart, said, I want you to come out and put your application in and we'll
14:41
see about you getting a job. And so long story short, I went and put my application
14:46
in. She says, you start this week.
14:48
You're going to start on this evening and you're going to get closed in with another individual.
14:55
And so I showed up at work that night and she kind of chuckled and she said,

oh, by the way, the person you're working with is the pastor of the Assemblies
15:04
of God church here in town.
15:06
How many know when you ask, you better get ready to receive?

I mean, it happened that quick.
15:14
Miracles happen so quick, it'll make your head spin. And so what I found out,

I was just happy to have a job.
15:23
But what I ended up having to do was do something I've never done before and

that was clean floors not what i wanted to do wasn't the season of life that
15:34
i wanted but i was desperate for a job,
15:38
and i knew if i got that position that i could get a promotion and i would just keep moving,
15:45
but it didn't make sense at the time come on i i don't know who's in the middle
15:51
of a job right now it doesn't make sense but the lord's saying keep your hand on the plow,
15:58
keep plowing because your due season is on its way.

And all you'll begin to do is begin to rest in the blessings because an overflow

abundance is going to come your direction.

And in that time frame of me being cleaning floors and doing all of that,

I began to devour the word like I've never seen before.
16:25
I mean, I was a new Christian and that's all I wanted to do is just devour the word.

The season didn't make sense.
16:33
Didn't make much money.
16:35
Didn't make sense. Maybe you're in the season right now. You're not making much
16:39
money. You're not making the annual salary that you want to make.

But the Lord's saying, just hold on. Keep your hand to the plow because the
16:47
blessings of God are on its way.

Handfuls on purpose.

I know some of you are already retired and you're thinking, well,

how does this apply to me?

It applies to you because you've been faithful with the little.

And the Lord said, the harvest, you shall reap a harvest.

This is your due season and you're about to reap a harvest. God is taking you

to a level you've never been before.

And the Lord's saying today, all we've got to do is trust the process.

Favor in the field. Come on, somebody say favor in the field.

Point number one today, favor finds workers.

The favor of God will find its workers.

God is going to bless the ones that are working.

But if you're just waiting.

I like what Scott said the other day, and some of you may have to Google this. I don't know.

The younger generation may. But he said, so many times we're waiting for Ed

McMahon to show up at our front door.

But the Lord says you need to get out in the field.

Ruth didn't just stay at home with Naomi and cry about her husband being dying and cry about,

I left my mom, I left my dad, I left my homeland just to go out here to this

field and all I'm picking up is little grains.

And then all of a sudden there was a shift that happened and she wasn't just

picking up little grains.

All of a sudden the favor of God began to ignite in her life.

Next thing you know, she's got handfuls.

I can imagine her going home to Naomi going, Look what I got today.

Can you believe? But Boaz was setting it up.

Are you seeing the picture today? The Lord is setting it up for you today.

It may not make sense with the little tiny grains that are coming in,

with the little tiny salary that you got right now, but the Lord's saying, get ready.

Handfuls on purpose are coming your direction.

You just need to hold on. I feel this is going to be a week of handfuls on purpose

are about to be downloaded into people in Epicenter today.

Hallelujah. Handfuls on purpose.

Unexpected checks. Unexpected blessings. Handfuls on purpose.

Favor finds workers. I mean, if you're working, it's going to search you out.

But if you're just sitting around waiting for it to happen, it ain't going to happen.

You're just going to sit there. he's looking for the workers see Ruth worked with excellence,

and favor rewards the diligent today church and God blesses consistency when

he sees consistency in our life he will bless it,

he saw consistency in Ruth and what did he do he sent forth handfuls on blood on purpose in her life.

Just send them forth, God. Come on, somebody just say, God, send them forth.

Hard work prepares for promotion.

It will prepare us for promotion, but he's looking for somebody who's diligent, who's consistent.

Be consistent in what you're doing and watch for the handfuls on purpose to

be downloaded in your life.

Because excellence honors God.

When we do it with excellence in our heart and with our spirit, it honors God.

God's favor is often found in the field of faithfulness, not on the sidelines

of comfort. And we become too comfortable with our lifestyles.

We just become comfortable and we just accept what we get.

But the moment we get in the field is the moment we activate the handfuls on purpose.

Today, I challenge you to step out and activate the handfuls on purpose in your life.

Because when you faithfully do what is in your hand, God will entrust you with what is in His hand.

And He will just begin to release it into your life.

He'll just give you handfuls on purpose. I just feel this is for us today.

Handfuls on purpose are coming your direction.

This is the week of handfuls on purpose.

We're in a season today of handfuls on purpose.

Your harvest is on its way because favor finds the workers.

It'll chase you down. Your blessing will chase you down.

Point number two today, faithful brings protection.

Favor brings protection. See, Ruth 2 and verse 9,

See which part of the field they are harvesting and follow them I have warned

the young man not to treat you roughly,

And when you are thirsty, just help yourself To the water they have drawn from the well,

Favor brings protection. God wants you to know that he's about to bring protection.

When you're working in the field, the Lord's saying, I'm going to put a protection around you.

Not just you, but I'm going to put it around your household.

I'm going to put it around your kids. I'm going to put it around everyone that

you come in contact with.

Favor brings protection.

God says, I'm going to protect you in all things.

See, Boaz protected Ruth, and God's favor becomes a shield that is around him.

Divine protection surrounds obedient people. She was obedient.

She was in the field, and she was

faithful, and the favor of God began to surround her with a protection.

Favor creates security,

it will create security because god watches over his children,

just as boaz was watching over ruth god

is watching i mean this is the picture of god watching over us putting a protection

about us camping around when you're sleeping he's watching,

he's protecting us,

There's a protection around us.

He's sending forth the angels to be camped around us.

There's a protection that comes on us. See, where God leads you,

his favor surrounds you, and his protection goes before you.

He's going to protect you. He's going to guide you.

The safest place you'll ever be is in the center of God's will.

Covered with his favor.

How many want him to cover you with favor today? All he wants us to do is be faithful in the field.

See, favor in the field. Favor finds workers.

Favor brings protection. And then point number three today, favor provides more than enough.

It will provide more than enough.

It provided more than enough for Ruth. And if God can do it for Ruth, God can do it for you.

See, Ruth received more than she expected.

The fullness of God is being unleashed into our life today because Ruth received

See, God's favor is generous. purpose.

Overflow blesses others. When it comes your direction, it makes you want to

be a blessing to somebody else.

Amen. It makes you want to just give to somebody else. It.

Makes you want to give them a handful on purpose. When the handful on purpose

comes your direction, it makes you want to release it back.

See, God provides beyond today's need. Amen.

And then the blessings become our testimonies.

One right after another. Blessing after blessing after blessing.

God never runs out of resources. When his favor rests on your life.

Scarcity gives way to abundance in our life.

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for the abundance of God.

Epicenter. I'm ready for an overflow. To God be the glory. I'm ready for the overflow. Abundance.

Where the glory of God falls so strong, the thickness of the Holy Spirit is

so thick that everybody in the house is healed through the power of the movement of God.

Every disease is healed. Every bit of sickness is delivered out of the people.

That's the favor of God, because where God is, his favor follows.

The abundance will follow. See, God's provision often arrives one handful at

a time, one right after another.

I feel that we're about to have testimony after testimony of the handfuls on

purpose that are about to be released into our lives, even the small ones to the big ones.

I mean, God wants to meet every single need in our life.

I'm prophesying that To God be the glory The desire of your heart's coming The

Lord's saying today, get ready Because overflow is on its way Hallelujah.

Come on, just lift up your hands right now Just for a moment and just begin

to receive the handfuls on purpose.

The overflow. The overflow coming. The overflow's coming. The overflow's coming.

Right now it doesn't make sense, but the Lord's saying, hold on.

Keep working the field and hold on.

Uncomfortable. Can I just be real?

Someone is even feeling like you're aggravated in the season you're in,

but the Lord just says, just trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Just trust me. I know what I'm doing. You've even just gotten just aggravated, angry.

God, why? You have all these questions. Why hasn't it happened yet? Why hasn't it done?

Why, why, why? But the Lord's just saying, just hold on.

Look at the story we're talking about,

Ruth. She had disappointment after disappointment after disappointment.

She had question marks. Why, God?

Why did it happen this way? Why did you take me away from my family? Why?

I mean, can you imagine her in the field? Even when she's picking up the little

grains and she's, God, why?

I trusted you, God, and it hasn't happened the way I thought it was going to

happen. I thought it was going to be something else.

But she had to just trust the process and walk the process out.

Even if it didn't make sense. It kind of reminds me of this story.

I want to close it with this story today of a master weaver.

Somebody, a master weaver. Imagine walking into a room where a master weaver

is creating a beautiful tapestry.

If you stand behind the loom, all you see is loose threads hanging everywhere.

There are knots, strings crossing in every direction, and.

Nothing seems organized. It looks messy.

It looks even unfinished. But when you walk around to the front of the tapestry,

you will see an incredible masterpiece with beautiful colors and a beautiful and perfect design.

The difference wasn't the tapestry.

The difference was your perspective.

And so many of us are behind the tapestry and we're looking at it.

We're looking at the knots.

We're looking at the confusion and we're wondering, God, when is it going to be my turn?

And the Lord says today, you need to get a different perspective.

You need to get up and you need to walk around that tapestry and see it from my perspective.

See, he is the master and he has the master plan.

And right now you're looking behind the tapestry and all you can see is the

knots and everything of confusion.

And the Lord's saying, if you could just see what I see. The master today is

saying, if you only could see what I could see, I have woven this through so

that you could see the beauty of it.

If you would just, can I just say this?

If you just get up off of your blessed assurance and get around and see what I see.

You would see the beauty of the vision that I have planted for you, says the Lord.

And the Lord would say, if you could just see what the master sees today.

We're just seeing it from our perspective. And the Lord's saying,

see it from my perspective, because you will see the finished outcome.

Once you get up and walk around, you begin to see the beauty of what I'm putting

together, because God's putting together some beautiful things on the inside

of each and every one of you.

You can't see it right now, but the Lord says, just hold on. It's coming.

It's coming. See, many of us are looking at our lives from the backside.

We see loose ends. We see disappointments.

We see delays, but God sees the finished picture.

Ruth thought she was gathering grain, but God was weaving together the genealogies.

She thought she was surviving, just surviving another day.

But God was preparing her to become a great grandmother of King David and part

of the family line of Jesus Christ.

She couldn't see it all, but God saw it all.

God saw it all, and he put it all together.

He put it all together. Maybe today you're only seeing the backside of the tapestry.

But keep trusting the master weaver because he knows what he's doing.

One day you'll see what he was creating all along.

Can I just speak this over you today? Hold on. We may be in the alley right now.

But God he's weaving this together,

he's using each one of us right now use what you have till you get what you

need God's saying get ready we're just seeing the back side of it right now,

but God is about to turn it all around even in your own life God is about to

turn it all around It may not make sense right now, but God is about to turn it all around.

Today, there are people who may be feeling like Ruth today.

You've been working. You've,

been serving. You've been serving.

Been giving,

you've been praying,

you've been showing up,

and yet it feels like nothing is changing.

Maybe you've wondered, God, do you even see me?

The beautiful truth of Ruth chapter number 2 is this.

Boaz noticed Ruth before Ruth ever knew Boaz was watching.

He was watching the whole time because he already knew the report from her,

already knew where she came from, knew what happened to her.

He already knew the past. His eye was already on her.

The Lord's saying to you today, I already know your past.

I already know where you come from. And my eyes bent on you the whole time.

But he was just waiting he's just waiting for you to step into his field,

oh my lord he is waiting for you just to step into his field,

i don't know if you can see the whole picture or not but epicenter is that field,

to god be the glory and the lord's saying he has been waiting he watched you

before you even came here.

He's taking you and he's molding you into the image he wants you to be.

See, his eyes bent on you the whole time.

See, Boaz's eyes was on Ruth the whole time.

Knew everything about her. Her past.

Setbacks. God knows everything about us. Our setbacks. Our past.

And God sees you. Before you ever see what he is preparing.

Maybe today you're weary. Maybe today you're discouraged. Maybe you've been

faithful for years and haven't seen the breakthrough you've been believing for.

But today, but today's message is a reminder that God never wastes faithfulness.
