- 0:00Speaker 1: Bible and turn to Judges chapter 13 verse 1 through 8.
- 0:09Speaker 1: The book of Judges chapter 13 verse 1 through 8.
- 0:18Speaker 1: And when you have it say Amen. And I want
- 0:23Speaker 1: you to listen very closely, attentively. to what is being
- 0:29Speaker 1: said here because it recognizes and acknowledges the end of
- 0:35Speaker 1: an era and the beginning of another one. And we're
- 0:40Speaker 1: standing right at the hinge of a door of a
- 0:44Speaker 1: great shift as we are now. As we are right now.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And again, the Israelites did evil in the eyes of
- 0:53Speaker 1: Yahweh and Yahweh gave them into the hand of the
- 0:57Speaker 1: Philistines 40 years. I got to stop there and thank
- 1:01Speaker 1: God that God has a beginning and an end of trouble.
- 1:09Speaker 1: That trouble don't last always. That if you had a
- 1:13Speaker 1: going in date, you got a coming out date. Come
- 1:16Speaker 1: on with me, somebody. Okay, there was a certain man
- 1:21Speaker 1: from Zorah, from the tribe of the Danites, and his
- 1:25Speaker 1: name was Manoah. His wife was infertile and did not
- 1:30Speaker 1: bear children. And an angel of Yahweh appeared to the
- 1:34Speaker 1: woman and he said to her, Behold, you are infertile
- 1:38Speaker 1: and have not born children. But, oh, God will put
- 1:45Speaker 1: that but in there in a minute. but you will
- 1:48Speaker 1: conceive and bear a son. So then be careful and
- 1:54Speaker 1: do not drink wine or strong drink and do not
- 1:57Speaker 1: eat anything unclean because you will conceive and bear a son.
- 2:03Speaker 1: No razor will touch his head because the boy will
- 2:08Speaker 1: be a Nazarite of God from birth. And it is
- 2:14Speaker 1: he who will begin to deliver Israel from the hand
- 2:18Speaker 1: of the Philistines. And the woman came and told her
- 2:23Speaker 1: husband saying, a man of God came to me and
- 2:26Speaker 1: his appearance was like the appearance of an angel of God.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Very awesome. I believe it's a theophany. Anytime it looks
- 2:35Speaker 1: like a man of God, yet she calls it an angel.
- 2:37Speaker 1: A theophany is just a manifestation of Jesus Christ in
- 2:41Speaker 1: the Old Testament. I did not ask him from where
- 2:45Speaker 1: he came and he did not tell me his name. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah,
- 2:52Speaker 1: I'm on to something. And he said to me, look,
- 2:55Speaker 1: you will conceive and bear a son. So then do
- 3:00Speaker 1: not drink wine or strong drink and do not eat
- 3:04Speaker 1: anything unclean. For the boy will be a Nazarite of
- 3:08Speaker 1: God from birth until the day of his death. could
- 3:14Speaker 1: God then Manoah prayed to Yahweh and said excuse me
- 3:19Speaker 1: my Lord please let the man of God whom you
- 3:22Speaker 1: sent again come to us and teach us what we
- 3:25Speaker 1: should do concerning the boy who will be born can
- 3:30Speaker 1: you say amen now I'm going to preach from a
- 3:33Speaker 1: subject that doesn't even seem relative to the text but
- 3:36Speaker 1: when I finish with it it's going to make sense
- 3:39Speaker 1: I'm going to preach side effects and Side effects. Let's
- 3:46Speaker 1: pray together while we're standing. Spirit of the living God
- 3:48Speaker 1: fall fresh on us now as we delve into the
- 3:51Speaker 1: word of God. We thank you Lord for what you
- 3:53Speaker 1: have prescribed for us. For what you have designated for
- 3:57Speaker 1: us will shortly come to pass. You are God and
- 4:00Speaker 1: God all by yourself. You need no one to vote
- 4:02Speaker 1: you in and can't nobody put you out. They cannot
- 4:05Speaker 1: impeach you. You are sovereign. You are Yahweh. You are
- 4:09Speaker 1: the absolute God. You are before there was where or
- 4:12Speaker 1: when or this or that or Alpha or Omega. You
- 4:16Speaker 1: alone are God. Nobody can take you. Nobody can move you.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Nobody can break you. You are our God and you
- 4:24Speaker 1: dwell amongst us. Have your way as we tabernacle God.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Up under the tent of your word. That we might
- 4:31Speaker 1: hear what the spirit of the Lord is saying to
- 4:33Speaker 1: the church. Because we need a word for you. We
- 4:37Speaker 1: wrestle with unreasonable men. We live in unreasonable times. We
- 4:41Speaker 1: live in times Lord. Where the Philistines are upon us.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And we need the anointing to break the yoke. Step
- 4:48Speaker 1: in great God that you are. And move in the
- 4:51Speaker 1: midst of your people. We have no other God to
- 4:55Speaker 1: call on but you. If there be any ratification. If
- 4:58Speaker 1: there be any justice. If there be any righteousness, it
- 5:01Speaker 1: must come down from heaven above. And so therefore, God,
- 5:05Speaker 1: we commend our future into your hands. Have your way, God,
- 5:09Speaker 1: in the name of Jesus. I thank you in advance
- 5:12Speaker 1: for what you're going to do. Do it, do it
- 5:15Speaker 1: like nobody else can do it but you. Do it
- 5:18Speaker 1: till we're praising God all the way home. Do it
- 5:20Speaker 1: till we've got tears running down our face. Do it
- 5:24Speaker 1: until yokes are broken and demons are defeated. Do it
- 5:27Speaker 1: until witches are pulling their hair out. Do it until
- 5:30Speaker 1: curses are broken. Do it in the name of Jesus.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I thank you for it. In Jesus' name, somebody shout amen.
- 5:40Speaker 1: You may be seated. Great God, great God, great God,
- 5:50Speaker 1: great God, great God. There's been something on me lately
- 5:54Speaker 1: I just can't hardly control it. I've been feeling God
- 5:57Speaker 1: pushing me in the back. My God, I feel the
- 6:00Speaker 1: anointing of the Lord in here right now. Right now.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I want you to notice first of all that this presence,
- 6:10Speaker 1: this man that she said appeared as an angel of
- 6:14Speaker 1: God reminds us and is reminiscent of the theophonic manifestation
- 6:19Speaker 1: of Jesus Christ himself. Not only that, but I want
- 6:23Speaker 1: you to know that not only is the messenger A
- 6:26Speaker 1: theophonic representation of Jesus Christ himself. This situation reminds us
- 6:32Speaker 1: of something that will later be acted out in Jesus Christ.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Because the woman that he's talking to is barren. And
- 6:39Speaker 1: she has not been able to produce a child. And
- 6:43Speaker 1: God overrules the barrenness. And you will notice the story
- 6:51Speaker 1: repeated over and over in the Bible with Abraham and
- 6:54Speaker 1: Sarah and various characters in the Bible where God opens
- 6:58Speaker 1: up that which is shut down. With Hannah, God opened
- 7:01Speaker 1: up that which is shut down. With you, God opens
- 7:05Speaker 1: up that which is shut down and causes the unfruitful
- 7:09Speaker 1: to become fruitful again. And one of the signs of
- 7:12Speaker 1: the presence of God is that when an area of
- 7:15Speaker 1: your life that is unfruitful suddenly becomes fruitful and you
- 7:19Speaker 1: can give nobody credit for it but God, you have
- 7:22Speaker 1: a different kind of praise. You have a different kind
- 7:25Speaker 1: of praise. Penina couldn't praise God like Hannah did because
- 7:30Speaker 1: Hannah knew that that that was in her was there
- 7:33Speaker 1: by the power of God. And when you know it
- 7:35Speaker 1: was there, when you know God did it, When you
- 7:42Speaker 1: know God did it. When you know God didn't come
- 7:46Speaker 1: hell or high water, you will stand on the integrity
- 7:49Speaker 1: of God's word and watch him perform it in your life.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And like Jesus' mother who encountered an angel alone, this
- 7:58Speaker 1: woman encounters the angel alone and receives the word and
- 8:03Speaker 1: brings it back to her husband. And she tells him,
- 8:07Speaker 1: there's something that God does with women that are willing
- 8:10Speaker 1: to be alone. I know y'all like to run in packs,
- 8:16Speaker 1: but I noticed something throughout the Bible that when God
- 8:19Speaker 1: catches you by yourself and you're not influenced by the
- 8:23Speaker 1: voices of other people and other women in your life,
- 8:26Speaker 1: there's a way that God will speak to you. He'll
- 8:29Speaker 1: speak to you while you're driving the car. He'll speak
- 8:32Speaker 1: to you after everybody's gone to bed. He'll speak to
- 8:35Speaker 1: you early in the morning and talk to you. He
- 8:38Speaker 1: has a way of showing up with women alone like
- 8:41Speaker 1: he did when he said, hell Mary, you have been
- 8:44Speaker 1: highly favored amongst women. You shall bring forth a son
- 8:48Speaker 1: and his name shall be called Jesus. He speaks to
- 8:50Speaker 1: you in a way that causes other people not to
- 8:53Speaker 1: believe that he spoke to you. But their unbelief does
- 8:57Speaker 1: not make God's word of no effect. If God has
- 9:01Speaker 1: spoken to you, he's spoken to you. Manoah came along
- 9:04Speaker 1: and said, speak once again. He wanted to hear. But
- 9:08Speaker 1: what God has for you is for you. And God
- 9:11Speaker 1: has a way of speaking to you. And if you're
- 9:15Speaker 1: smart in a man... and a woman speaks something, especially
- 9:18Speaker 1: if she's a praying woman, you pay her some attention.
- 9:21Speaker 1: You pay her some attention even if you act like
- 9:23Speaker 1: you're not paying attention. You pay her some attention because
- 9:26Speaker 1: she's been right so many times. that you at least
- 9:30Speaker 1: give some consideration to her perspective because she's a praying woman.
- 9:36Speaker 1: If you got a praying woman, give her a hug
- 9:38Speaker 1: right now because a praying woman is a treasure. A
- 9:41Speaker 1: praying woman is something special. A praying woman can produce
- 9:46Speaker 1: things that couldn't be produced any other kind of way.
- 9:49Speaker 1: A praying woman can have doors open up for her
- 9:52Speaker 1: by herself because she's a praying woman. If you got
- 9:56Speaker 1: a praying woman, You can be sick in your body.
- 9:59Speaker 1: and God will heal you. When I was talking to
- 10:01Speaker 1: my wife, her knee didn't get healed till I collapsed.
- 10:06Speaker 1: And the moment I collapsed, she got healed right on
- 10:08Speaker 1: the spot. When you got a praying woman, God will
- 10:11Speaker 1: give you a miracle immediately.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I use the term side effects because I was
- 10:47Speaker 1: watching TV and it used to be when you watch TV,
- 10:50Speaker 1: they would advertise the medicine, but not the side effects.
- 10:57Speaker 1: But they started getting sued so much that now at
- 11:02Speaker 1: the end, even if they have to speed up the
- 11:04Speaker 1: voice and talk real fast, they make sure that you
- 11:07Speaker 1: understand that with the prescription comes side effects. And I'm
- 11:15Speaker 1: glad they do it because sometimes the side effects are
- 11:19Speaker 1: worse than the problem. They said, if you got dry
- 11:24Speaker 1: eyes and a runny nose, you take this pill, you
- 11:27Speaker 1: may experience bleeding. You may have insomnia. You may break
- 11:32Speaker 1: out in sweats in the middle of the day. You
- 11:34Speaker 1: may not be able to walk. You may only have
- 11:37Speaker 1: two toes. And I started thinking, I'd rather go ahead
- 11:40Speaker 1: and have the dry eye than to deal with the
- 11:43Speaker 1: side effects. My God, maybe it's just me. But them
- 11:53Speaker 1: side effects, the side effects of the things that people
- 11:56Speaker 1: try to leave out, they go along with the prescription.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Prescription is a term that is used to where the
- 12:05Speaker 1: doctor has written out in advance something that you're going
- 12:10Speaker 1: to take that's going to change your tomorrow. You take
- 12:13Speaker 1: it today, it changes your tomorrow. It is a prescription.
- 12:18Speaker 1: In theology, we would call it a prophecy. Yeah, a
- 12:23Speaker 1: word that over time it begins to work in your life.
- 12:26Speaker 1: But even with the prophecy, understand that God doesn't always
- 12:31Speaker 1: give detail. Even God didn't tell you about the side effects. Abraham, Abraham,
- 12:41Speaker 1: take now thy only son to a place that I
- 12:44Speaker 1: will show you. He didn't tell him about the side effects.
- 12:48Speaker 1: He didn't tell him about the trouble he would run into.
- 12:51Speaker 1: He didn't tell him that the servants would leave him
- 12:53Speaker 1: halfway up the mountain. He didn't tell him that he'd
- 12:55Speaker 1: have to tie him down and raise his knife to
- 12:58Speaker 1: slay his son. He didn't tell him about the ram
- 13:01Speaker 1: in the bush because the trying of your faith doesn't
- 13:04Speaker 1: give you details. Amen. The trying of your faith doesn't
- 13:10Speaker 1: give you details. He just gives you the purview, but
- 13:13Speaker 1: he just gives you the preview, but it doesn't give
- 13:15Speaker 1: you the details, the prescriptions, the side effects, the circumstances,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and the situation. And I read this text and I said, Lord,
- 13:22Speaker 1: you didn't tell them about the side effects. You told
- 13:27Speaker 1: this barren woman that she would bring forth the sons.
- 13:31Speaker 1: And that her son would save his people from 40
- 13:35Speaker 1: years of Philistinian domination. But you didn't tell him. You
- 13:41Speaker 1: didn't tell them that they were going to have all
- 13:43Speaker 1: kind of trouble out of that son. You didn't tell
- 13:47Speaker 1: him that that son was going to have to fight
- 13:50Speaker 1: for it, that he was going to have to prove himself,
- 13:53Speaker 1: that he was going to be tested. You didn't tell him.
- 13:56Speaker 1: And so we are so preoccupied with the prescription that
- 13:59Speaker 1: we don't notice the side effects. I went to Sunday school.
- 14:03Speaker 1: They taught me about Samson when I was a little boy.
- 14:06Speaker 1: And they had this big burly guy standing up there
- 14:09Speaker 1: as a picture. He had triceps and biceps and muscles
- 14:13Speaker 1: and everything. And he looked all muscular. And they showed
- 14:16Speaker 1: him lifting up gates and throwing gates on people and
- 14:20Speaker 1: taking the jawbone of an ass and killing 10,000 Philistines.
- 14:24Speaker 1: And they showed him like he was a superhero. Amen.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Like he was a Marvel character. But that diminishes the
- 14:32Speaker 1: power of the text. Because if Samson had been powerful outwardly,
- 14:37Speaker 1: then Delilah would have never had to ask him, where
- 14:41Speaker 1: does your strength come from? That means that there is
- 14:46Speaker 1: a strength that you can't see. That means that he
- 14:52Speaker 1: might have been tiny and scrawny because she couldn't figure
- 14:55Speaker 1: out how a man that looked like him could do
- 14:58Speaker 1: what he did. Just like your haters can't figure out
- 15:02Speaker 1: how a person like you can do what you do.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Because it is not obvious to people. That you have
- 15:09Speaker 1: as much as you have. You don't walk in arrogance.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Your nose is not up in the air. You don't
- 15:15Speaker 1: flaunt your ability in front of anybody. But when it
- 15:18Speaker 1: is needed. You have a way of rising to the occasion.
- 15:22Speaker 1: And the enemy doesn't understand you. Shame on you for
- 15:27Speaker 1: confusing the devil. Shame on you for shocking the devil.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Shame on you for coming up just when he thought
- 15:34Speaker 1: he had you down and you fooled him, you popped
- 15:37Speaker 1: back up again. Just when he thought you was going
- 15:40Speaker 1: to die, you jumped up and lived again. Just when
- 15:43Speaker 1: he thought he had you truly depressed, you got joy
- 15:46Speaker 1: and started laughing, didn't even know what you was laughing about.
- 15:50Speaker 1: But the joy of the Lord is your strength. And
- 15:53Speaker 1: he doesn't understand why you're happy. Hallelujah, because God has
- 15:57Speaker 1: a way of doing things that boggles. It boggles the
- 16:02Speaker 1: human mind. It leaves speechless the most talkative person. It
- 16:07Speaker 1: has a way of shocking people how you can find
- 16:10Speaker 1: strength in strange places. And it's something to be a
- 16:18Speaker 1: strong person. To be a strong person. It frustrates the
- 16:23Speaker 1: devil when you're a strong person. Because what should have
- 16:26Speaker 1: broke you didn't break you. What should have killed you
- 16:29Speaker 1: didn't kill you. What should have made you collapse didn't
- 16:33Speaker 1: make you collapse. What should have made you an alcoholic
- 16:36Speaker 1: didn't make you an alcoholic. What should have made you
- 16:38Speaker 1: blow your brains out didn't make you blow your brains out.
- 16:42Speaker 1: It's something about being a strong person. That's the prescription.
- 16:46Speaker 1: But let me tell you about the side effects. There
- 16:53Speaker 1: are side effects to being a strong person. People take
- 16:58Speaker 1: you for granted when you're a strong person. People put
- 17:03Speaker 1: more weight on you when you're a strong person. People
- 17:07Speaker 1: bring you your problems and their problems and somebody else's
- 17:11Speaker 1: problems when you're a strong person. People don't comfort you
- 17:15Speaker 1: when you're a strong person. Oh, you just made like that. Oh,
- 17:19Speaker 1: you just can handle it. That's just how you are.
- 17:22Speaker 1: The side effects of being a strong person means that
- 17:25Speaker 1: many times you have to encourage yourself in the Lord
- 17:29Speaker 1: because you're a strong person. Are there any strong people
- 17:33Speaker 1: in the room? You're the one the whole family calls on.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I don't care what goes wrong. When things go bad,
- 17:40Speaker 1: they call you. Because you're the one that comes in
- 17:43Speaker 1: with the sobriety of mind. And a stillness of spirit.
- 17:48Speaker 1: And you make decisions and you execute judgment. Because you're
- 17:51Speaker 1: a strong person. They don't think that the weight bothers you.
- 17:55Speaker 1: They don't think that the weight intimidates you. They don't
- 17:58Speaker 1: think that the weight is powerfully powerful. applied to your shoulders.
- 18:03Speaker 1: They don't think that you have any pain. They don't
- 18:06Speaker 1: think that you have any problem. They don't know that
- 18:08Speaker 1: you stay up at night at two and three o'clock
- 18:10Speaker 1: in the morning. They don't know the things that you
- 18:13Speaker 1: endure because you make hell look easy. I'm going to
- 18:18Speaker 1: say it again since I'm out there. You make hell
- 18:21Speaker 1: look easy. You make it look like it doesn't bother you.
- 18:24Speaker 1: It's the side effects of being a strong person. They
- 18:28Speaker 1: don't ever cuddle you. They don't ever comfort you. They
- 18:31Speaker 1: call you and start immediately telling you about their problem.
- 18:35Speaker 1: They don't even ask you how you are. How do
- 18:38Speaker 1: you feel? What's going on in your life? These are
- 18:41Speaker 1: the side effects. of being a strong person to him
- 18:45Speaker 1: who much is given much is required because you are
- 18:49Speaker 1: a strong person are there any strong people in here
- 19:00Speaker 1: the problem with being a strong person is strong people
- 19:03Speaker 1: get tired too strong people hurt too Strong people bleed too.
- 19:12Speaker 1: You can be strong and sensitive. You can be strong
- 19:17Speaker 1: and be weary. You can be strong and be empty.
- 19:21Speaker 1: You can be strong and be isolated. You can be
- 19:25Speaker 1: strong and be in a struggle that nobody even understands
- 19:28Speaker 1: that you have a struggle because they're so busy getting
- 19:32Speaker 1: you to take care of their struggle that they don't
- 19:35Speaker 1: even worry about your struggle. Samson did not ask for
- 19:40Speaker 1: this fight with the Philistines. He wasn't even asking for
- 19:46Speaker 1: it when he got born and it was decided before
- 19:49Speaker 1: he got born. It was pre-scripted. For this cause he
- 19:57Speaker 1: came into the world. The fight was picked out for
- 20:01Speaker 1: him before he made his first sound. Some of you,
- 20:05Speaker 1: the fight was picked out for you before you made
- 20:08Speaker 1: the first sound. You didn't pick your mama. You didn't
- 20:11Speaker 1: pick your daddy. You didn't pick the age you were
- 20:13Speaker 1: born into. You didn't pick the city you were in.
- 20:17Speaker 1: You didn't pick the rape. You didn't pick the trauma.
- 20:20Speaker 1: You didn't pick the situation. You were chosen for adversity.
- 20:24Speaker 1: God told Jeremiah before I formed thee in the belly,
- 20:27Speaker 1: I knew thee and I ordained thee to be a
- 20:30Speaker 1: prophet unto the nation. Before you cried your first cry,
- 20:34Speaker 1: before you took your first step, before you took your
- 20:37Speaker 1: first swallow of milk, I had already ordained your step.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I had already chosen you. I had set you aside.
- 20:44Speaker 1: In that same way, Samson was chosen and his enemy
- 20:48Speaker 1: was chosen and the fight had started before they ever met.
- 20:56Speaker 1: My God. There was a fight that was picked out
- 21:00Speaker 1: for you before you ever even came here. You don't
- 21:03Speaker 1: understand why you go through what you go through, why
- 21:05Speaker 1: you feel what you feel, why you endure what you endure.
- 21:09Speaker 1: It was picked out for you before you got there.
- 21:12Speaker 1: The Philistines were waiting for you to be born. You
- 21:15Speaker 1: were born into a struggle. You were born into a test.
- 21:19Speaker 1: You were born into a dilemma. You were born into
- 21:22Speaker 1: a crisis. It was set aside for you, but God
- 21:25Speaker 1: equipped you before he birthed you God equipped you Before
- 21:34Speaker 1: he birthed you. And you can walk through hell and
- 21:38Speaker 1: not get burned. You can stand in the fiery furnace
- 21:42Speaker 1: and not be sinned. You can lay down and go
- 21:44Speaker 1: to bed with lions. And wake up in the morning yawning.
- 21:48Speaker 1: And you don't even understand how you can do it yourself.
- 21:51Speaker 1: But God equips you for it. He built you for it.
- 21:55Speaker 1: He built you to raise that child. He built you
- 21:58Speaker 1: to handle that circumstance. He built you to handle that situation.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Because you're a strong person. But the side effect is
- 22:06Speaker 1: just because you're strong don't mean you don't get tired.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Silence is often perceived as weakness. People who talk a
- 22:24Speaker 1: whole lot and they talk a lot of stuff I
- 22:27Speaker 1: learned a long time ago I didn't learn this in
- 22:29Speaker 1: the church I learned this in the street don't watch
- 22:32Speaker 1: the guy Who keep talking, talking about if you walk
- 22:40Speaker 1: over here, you're going to limp back. You want some
- 22:43Speaker 1: of this? You come over here, you're going to run
- 22:45Speaker 1: into something. Don't watch that guy that's putting on a
- 22:48Speaker 1: big show and breaks a beer bottle in the club
- 22:51Speaker 1: and says, I wish you would. I mean, don't watch him.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Watch the guy who's sitting over there calm. And he
- 23:03Speaker 1: ain't saying nothing. That's the one you need to watch
- 23:05Speaker 1: out for. Because even though silence is often perceived as
- 23:09Speaker 1: a weakness, actually it takes great strength to hold your peace.
- 23:20Speaker 1: It takes a great deal of strength not to speak
- 23:23Speaker 1: your mind. I listen to people talk to me sometimes
- 23:27Speaker 1: and I thought of a thousand things to say back
- 23:30Speaker 1: while they were saying their 10. And it took all
- 23:34Speaker 1: of my strength just to sit there and go, Because
- 23:44Speaker 1: if I let that thing rip, you'd be crying for
- 23:47Speaker 1: two years. If I told you what I thought, if
- 23:50Speaker 1: I told you what came across my mind, if I
- 23:53Speaker 1: told you what I really thought, you don't want me
- 23:57Speaker 1: to open my mouth. You don't want me to open
- 24:00Speaker 1: my mouth because while you was drawing your breath, I
- 24:03Speaker 1: had already thought of a hundred things I could have
- 24:05Speaker 1: said back. Silence does not mean weakness. It does not
- 24:10Speaker 1: mean ignorance. It does not mean intimidation. It takes great power.
- 24:16Speaker 1: To be silent. It takes great power to hold your peace.
- 24:21Speaker 1: It takes great power to go through a storm and
- 24:24Speaker 1: not retaliate. It takes great power not to defend yourself
- 24:28Speaker 1: when you go to war. Silence is a great strength. Silence. Silence.
- 24:38Speaker 1: The Bible said in quietness and in confidence shall be
- 24:42Speaker 1: your strength. In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.
- 24:47Speaker 1: When you are quiet and you are confident, you have strength.
- 24:53Speaker 1: You know who you are. I went into a building.
- 24:56Speaker 1: They were trying to make a seat for me on
- 24:58Speaker 1: the stage. I said, that's all right. I said, I
- 25:00Speaker 1: can sit anywhere. Because I am no more sitting on
- 25:05Speaker 1: the stage than I am sitting on the floor. I
- 25:08Speaker 1: can sit anywhere. Because I knew who I was when
- 25:12Speaker 1: I came here. You don't have to give me a
- 25:14Speaker 1: certain seat in order for me to be what I
- 25:17Speaker 1: already am. I know who I am. And if you
- 25:20Speaker 1: don't call my name, my name still got power in it.
- 25:24Speaker 1: It still got authority in it. Y'all don't hear what
- 25:27Speaker 1: I'm saying. Silence is a great strength. Don't let people
- 25:31Speaker 1: make you because if you let people make you, they'll
- 25:34Speaker 1: turn around and break you. But you got to know
- 25:37Speaker 1: when you walk in the door who you are. You
- 25:40Speaker 1: got to know you bad before they ever start talking.
- 25:43Speaker 1: You got to know you strong before they ever start talking.
- 25:46Speaker 1: And I need not the commendations of men to define
- 25:50Speaker 1: what God has already declared. If God declared it, it
- 25:54Speaker 1: is so. If God declared it, it is what it is.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Hallelujah to God. I went one place to preach years
- 26:02Speaker 1: ago and I preached. I didn't do that good because
- 26:04Speaker 1: I was nervous because they had all these titles and
- 26:07Speaker 1: made me kind of nervous. I didn't do that good.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I came back about several years later. I said when
- 26:12Speaker 1: I came the first time I was nervous because I
- 26:14Speaker 1: thought I needed you. I said, but now I'm ready
- 26:20Speaker 1: for you because I realize you need me. Once you
- 26:23Speaker 1: start to understand who you are and you understand your place,
- 26:27Speaker 1: I'm not talking about arrogance. I'm quoting scripture, in silence
- 26:31Speaker 1: and quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. I
- 26:35Speaker 1: ain't scared of none of you. In quietness and in
- 26:38Speaker 1: confidence shall be your strength. You got an opinion, I
- 26:42Speaker 1: got one too. You think this, I think that. I
- 26:45Speaker 1: got just as much right to think that as you
- 26:48Speaker 1: got to think this. Glory to God. I'm a grown man.
- 26:52Speaker 1: I'm as grown as I ever going to be. I
- 26:55Speaker 1: know exactly who I am and I don't have to
- 26:57Speaker 1: tell you who I am. I can show you who
- 27:00Speaker 1: I am and I don't have to prove who I
- 27:03Speaker 1: am because that that is doesn't have to be proven.
- 27:06Speaker 1: It just is. It just is. Can I get a
- 27:08Speaker 1: witness in here? Y'all can't handle this kind of preaching,
- 27:12Speaker 1: but some of y'all need this kind of preaching because
- 27:16Speaker 1: you're always trying to prove something to people that don't
- 27:19Speaker 1: even matter. Always trying to impress people that don't even matter.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Always trying to move people who aren't going to help
- 27:27Speaker 1: you one way or the other. They're not going to
- 27:29Speaker 1: be there one way or the other and ain't going
- 27:31Speaker 1: to need you saying nothing because they're not going to
- 27:34Speaker 1: do nothing anyway. Hold your peace and let the Lord
- 27:38Speaker 1: fight your battle. Stand still and see the salvation of
- 27:43Speaker 1: the Lord. The enemies that you see today, you shall
- 27:47Speaker 1: see them no more. I don't know who I'm preaching to,
- 27:50Speaker 1: but I feel like I'm preaching to somebody. Oh my God,
- 27:55Speaker 1: my God, my God. High five somebody and say, you
- 27:59Speaker 1: ain't got to say nothing. It is what it is.
- 28:04Speaker 1: You ain't got to say nothing. It is what it is.
- 28:07Speaker 1: You ain't got to say a word. The truth is
- 28:10Speaker 1: going to stand when the world's on fire. It is
- 28:13Speaker 1: what it is. Hold your peace and watch God work
- 28:17Speaker 1: it out. You ain't got to say nothing. High five
- 28:20Speaker 1: somebody else and say you ain't got to say nothing.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Don't write no note. Don't send no email. Don't send
- 28:27Speaker 1: no text. Just stand still. You ain't got to say nothing. Now,
- 28:40Speaker 1: Samson was prescribed a battle he didn't cause. In fact,
- 28:48Speaker 1: the Bible said the Lord had sent the Philistines to
- 28:52Speaker 1: attack Israel. I'm not going to say a lot about this.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Maybe I shouldn't say nothing. But it is not true
- 28:59Speaker 1: that just because Israel is God's chosen people that God
- 29:02Speaker 1: didn't ever punish them. He was always for them, but
- 29:16Speaker 1: that didn't mean he didn't punish them. That didn't mean
- 29:20Speaker 1: that he didn't send armies to chastise them. That doesn't
- 29:24Speaker 1: mean that he doesn't send armies to chastise us. Just
- 29:28Speaker 1: because you got the favor of God doesn't mean that
- 29:30Speaker 1: God won't correct you sometime. Where my real people at?
- 29:35Speaker 1: Where my real people at? You know you belong to God.
- 29:39Speaker 1: You know you've been washed in his blood you know
- 29:41Speaker 1: you're chosen of God but won't he get you together
- 29:45Speaker 1: Won't he humble you and bring you to your knees?
- 29:49Speaker 1: Won't he bring you down to the floor and make
- 29:51Speaker 1: you call on his name? Just because you have his
- 29:55Speaker 1: favor doesn't mean you don't have correction. In fact, the
- 29:59Speaker 1: Bible says, spare the rod. And you'll spoil the child.
- 30:03Speaker 1: And the more you belong to God, the more God
- 30:06Speaker 1: will get you together. Other people can do it and
- 30:08Speaker 1: it's just fine. But when you do it, you have
- 30:11Speaker 1: to pay for it. You can't figure out why. It's
- 30:14Speaker 1: because you are God's. And the chastening of the Lord
- 30:17Speaker 1: proves that you are His. He will get you together.
- 30:21Speaker 1: That's how you know you're saved. It's not your tongues.
- 30:25Speaker 1: It's not your dance. It's not your clothes. It's not
- 30:28Speaker 1: your outfit. It's not your jerking and shaking. It's how
- 30:33Speaker 1: he corrects you. It's how he pulls you in. It's
- 30:36Speaker 1: how he gets you together. It's how he brings you
- 30:39Speaker 1: to your knees. That's how you know you've been chosen. God.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I better hold it. Because I feel something. I feel something.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I feel something. I feel something. I feel something. I
- 30:54Speaker 1: feel something. I feel something. Now Samson was chosen. to
- 31:00Speaker 1: deliver the Israelites, to start the deliverance of the Israelites
- 31:05Speaker 1: from the Philistines. He was chosen for that. The problem is,
- 31:13Speaker 1: Samson also is attracted to Y'all don't want to hear
- 31:24Speaker 1: the truth. Let me give you the Sunday school class.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I can give you the Sunday school class. The problem
- 31:31Speaker 1: is Samson is attracted to the people he's supposed to defeat.
- 31:36Speaker 1: This conflict is the issues of life. Because on one hand,
- 31:47Speaker 1: he's supposed to destroy them, but he thinks they're kind
- 31:50Speaker 1: of cute. There was a woman from Timnah and he
- 31:56Speaker 1: saw her and he came home and told his parents.
- 31:59Speaker 1: He said, I met this girl from Timnah and I
- 32:03Speaker 1: want to marry her and I want to make her
- 32:05Speaker 1: my wife. And they said, of all the daughters of Israel,
- 32:10Speaker 1: couldn't you find one of your own people? He said, no.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Now look at the conflict. The conflict. The conflict. I
- 32:18Speaker 1: am created to destroy what I am also attracted to. See,
- 32:30Speaker 1: it's easy to kill what you don't like. But when
- 32:35Speaker 1: God calls you to kill what you are attracted to,
- 32:39Speaker 1: it creates a dilemma. I ain't going to bother you
- 32:43Speaker 1: because I know you can't act real. I know you
- 32:46Speaker 1: got to fake and be phony and act like you
- 32:48Speaker 1: don't understand when you get confused and you don't know
- 32:52Speaker 1: whether to slam or hug them. You're in a situation.
- 32:55Speaker 1: You're in a dilemma. You're in a situation. You're in
- 32:58Speaker 1: a dilemma. I'm attracted to a Philistinian woman. The Bible
- 33:06Speaker 1: doesn't even give her name. Because her name is not important.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Her ethnicity is important. Because it proves a point that
- 33:17Speaker 1: we can have mixed feelings about any situation. I love
- 33:25Speaker 1: the job, I hate the job. Come on, come on
- 33:32Speaker 1: real people, real people talk to me. Real people talk
- 33:35Speaker 1: to me. Real people talk to me. You get on
- 33:39Speaker 1: my nerves. But I feel sorry for you. And I'm
- 33:44Speaker 1: in a conflict. I'm in a strait. I don't know
- 33:48Speaker 1: how I feel about it. Because I'm supposed to be.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I was prescribed to attack. But I'm trying to attack
- 33:58Speaker 1: what I am attracted to. And he was going to
- 34:04Speaker 1: marry her. Save but for the riddle, he would have
- 34:08Speaker 1: married her. He was going to make her his. In
- 34:12Speaker 1: spite of his parents' dissent, he was going to still
- 34:17Speaker 1: marry her. But he gave a riddle and a riddle
- 34:21Speaker 1: caused a rift to break out amongst the Philistines because
- 34:25Speaker 1: Samson gave them a riddle about the honey and the
- 34:28Speaker 1: lion that brought them into a place of confusion and
- 34:32Speaker 1: it broke up the whole thing. Look at the things
- 34:34Speaker 1: that almost happened to you. Can I talk to somebody?
- 34:40Speaker 1: Can I talk to anybody about the stuff that almost
- 34:44Speaker 1: happened to you? The decisions you almost made. If it
- 34:48Speaker 1: wasn't for the grace of God, you wouldn't even be
- 34:51Speaker 1: sitting by who you sitting beside. You wouldn't even be
- 34:53Speaker 1: standing where you're standing. You almost, you almost, you almost fainted.
- 35:00Speaker 1: You almost collapsed. You almost gave in. That's why I
- 35:04Speaker 1: don't understand why you looking down your nose at other people.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Because there but for the grace of God. There but
- 35:12Speaker 1: for the grace of God. There but for the grace.
- 35:15Speaker 1: There but for the grace. There but for the grace.
- 35:17Speaker 1: There but for the grace. There but for the grace
- 35:20Speaker 1: go you and I. Because you were drawn to a
- 35:24Speaker 1: girl from Timnah. A Philistine. You were born to destroy
- 35:33Speaker 1: what you were drawn to keep. In between that, we
- 35:42Speaker 1: keep showing his strength. He's throwing gates on Philistines. Y'all
- 35:50Speaker 1: didn't get it. He likes a Philistine girl and yet
- 35:56Speaker 1: he's throwing gates on Philistines. He crazy. He took a
- 36:06Speaker 1: jawbone of an ass and destroyed thousands of Philistines. But
- 36:14Speaker 1: he was drawn to the Philistines. Y'all don't hear me.
- 36:23Speaker 1: He was crazy. He was strong, but he was wicked. Oh,
- 36:34Speaker 1: y'all not saying much to me now. When I was
- 36:37Speaker 1: asking who was strong, y'all was jumping up, y'all was hollering.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Y'all was making all kind of noise. You was doing
- 36:42Speaker 1: jumping jacks. You did a flip and a cartwheel and
- 36:45Speaker 1: landed in the middle of the floor. But every person,
- 36:49Speaker 1: every Superman got kryptonite. Every superman got kryptonite and if
- 36:59Speaker 1: they find out what the kryptonite is, it puts you
- 37:01Speaker 1: in a dilemma because you can be strong with a
- 37:04Speaker 1: gate and turn around and be weak as water in
- 37:13Speaker 1: another situation. The paradoxical reality of the psychological existence of
- 37:20Speaker 1: humanity creates complications that makes you hard to know. Because
- 37:28Speaker 1: if I catch you throwing gates, all I think you
- 37:32Speaker 1: are is strong. But if I see you peeking over
- 37:37Speaker 1: the fence at Timnah, all I think you are is weak.
- 37:41Speaker 1: And both assessments are wrong because you're not as strong
- 37:46Speaker 1: as they think you are. And you're not as weak
- 37:49Speaker 1: as they think you are. You are somewhere between strong
- 37:54Speaker 1: and weak. And how can you live in your strength
- 37:57Speaker 1: and deal with your weakness because they both exist in
- 38:01Speaker 1: the same person at the same time. Can I go deeper?
- 38:05Speaker 1: Can I go a little bit deeper? Because the truth
- 38:07Speaker 1: of the matter, the reason you didn't got quiet, because
- 38:10Speaker 1: I hit you right in the gut. I hit you
- 38:12Speaker 1: right in the belly. Because when I was talking about strength,
- 38:15Speaker 1: you was proud to stand up. But when I exposed
- 38:18Speaker 1: that strong people have weaknesses, you sat up and sat
- 38:22Speaker 1: down because you don't want to acknowledge to anybody. Because
- 38:25Speaker 1: half of your strength is used trying to prove to
- 38:29Speaker 1: them that you ain't nothing but strong. But in reality,
- 38:33Speaker 1: you're looking for somebody, not who can deal with your strength,
- 38:37Speaker 1: who can deal with your weakness. Because everybody's drawn to
- 38:41Speaker 1: your strength, but not everybody's drawn to your struggle. And
- 38:45Speaker 1: you don't want anybody to know that there's a soft
- 38:48Speaker 1: spot in you. There's a spot in you that cries
- 38:51Speaker 1: at night. There's a spot in you that wants to
- 38:53Speaker 1: give up. There's a spot in you that wants to collapse.
- 38:56Speaker 1: There's a spot in you that wants to cry. There's
- 38:59Speaker 1: a spot in you that does dumb stuff, makes foolish decisions,
- 39:03Speaker 1: trusts bad people, has bad ideas, gets yourself in trouble.
- 39:08Speaker 1: And you show me how strong you are. But a
- 39:11Speaker 1: friend of somebody, you can show how weak you are.
- 39:15Speaker 1: How unsure you are. How tired you are. How scared
- 39:19Speaker 1: you are. How worried you are. I didn't go to
- 39:22Speaker 1: bed till 3 o'clock in the morning. And you think
- 39:25Speaker 1: I got it all together. You think I got all
- 39:27Speaker 1: the answers. And there I am at 2,000. 2.30 trying
- 39:30Speaker 1: to figure out which way to go which door do
- 39:33Speaker 1: I move in which direction should I take I'm not
- 39:36Speaker 1: as strong as I think I am as you think
- 39:39Speaker 1: I am but we are spending our strength trying to
- 39:43Speaker 1: prove something that ain't true We're spending our strength trying
- 39:51Speaker 1: to show everybody that we can handle everything. And you're
- 39:58Speaker 1: exhausted because the camouflage of your strength only serves as
- 40:06Speaker 1: a conduit to hide your frailty. And the person who
- 40:12Speaker 1: can deal with both sides is the person you talk
- 40:17Speaker 1: to the most. Because if I gotta always be strong,
- 40:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna get tired of talking to you. And if
- 40:26Speaker 1: I got to always be weak, I'm going to be
- 40:29Speaker 1: tired of talking to you. But if I could give
- 40:31Speaker 1: you three strong sentences and two weak sentences, we can
- 40:36Speaker 1: make a paragraph. Come on, come on somebody. We can
- 40:40Speaker 1: make a paragraph. Because I ain't lying about neither one
- 40:43Speaker 1: of them. Sometimes I know exactly what to do. And
- 40:46Speaker 1: I wish you would. If you come over here, I
- 40:50Speaker 1: wish you would. But on the other hand... I don't
- 40:54Speaker 1: know what to do. I don't know where to go.
- 41:02Speaker 1: And it's much easier to find somebody who can deal
- 41:05Speaker 1: with the strength in you than it is to find
- 41:09Speaker 1: somebody who can deal with the weakness in you. Because
- 41:12Speaker 1: as soon as they find the weakness in you, they
- 41:16Speaker 1: drop you like you're trash. The Philistines sent their army
- 41:29Speaker 1: against Samson and he ate their lunch. He tied the
- 41:36Speaker 1: tails of the foxes together and set them on fire
- 41:39Speaker 1: and burned their fields. He lifted up gates and threw
- 41:44Speaker 1: it on them. See, if you throw the right thing
- 41:46Speaker 1: on me, I'll tear you up. I'll tear you up.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I'll tear you up. And then they got together and
- 41:54Speaker 1: they had a meeting. And said none of that strong
- 41:58Speaker 1: stuff is working. And they hired Delilah. He laughing at me.
- 42:14Speaker 1: He made me laugh. Here Delilah come switching in. Everybody
- 42:18Speaker 1: else come in. They got all kind of armor. They
- 42:21Speaker 1: got swords. They got shields. Delilah come in. And all
- 42:29Speaker 1: of a sudden, the strong man has to admit that
- 42:34Speaker 1: his strength has side effects. Did you know that your
- 42:41Speaker 1: strength has side effects? In fact, you cannot find intimacy
- 42:48Speaker 1: until you can show your side effects. As long as
- 42:52Speaker 1: you can only handle my camouflage, then I have to
- 42:59Speaker 1: be a hero 24 hours a day. You know what's
- 43:03Speaker 1: wrong with most of our women? They've had to be
- 43:07Speaker 1: heroes 24 hours a day. They are so tired of
- 43:12Speaker 1: being heroes that they have lost their ability to be vulnerable.
- 43:18Speaker 1: They don't even respect vulnerability. You're only respected the more
- 43:22Speaker 1: you don't need nobody. The more you can do it
- 43:26Speaker 1: for yourself. The more you can buy your own car,
- 43:29Speaker 1: your own house, your own stuff. The more you can
- 43:32Speaker 1: do it, the more you are respected. When you don't
- 43:34Speaker 1: understand that sometimes your strongest strength is in your vulnerability.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Can I go deeper? If Christ would have came as
- 43:44Speaker 1: the lion from the tribe of Judah, he wouldn't have
- 43:47Speaker 1: redeemed anybody. But because he knew that his greatest strength
- 43:51Speaker 1: was in his greatest weakness, he became the lamb of God.
- 43:55Speaker 1: And when he became the lamb of God, he delivered
- 43:58Speaker 1: more people as a lamb than he could as a lion.
- 44:02Speaker 1: And what's wrong with our men is that all we
- 44:04Speaker 1: want to do is roar. And we don't know that
- 44:07Speaker 1: sometimes a soft answer turneth away wrath. And we don't
- 44:12Speaker 1: know how to understand how to be vulnerable sometimes and say,
- 44:16Speaker 1: I'm tired. Ooh, they quiet on me, Jesus. You didn't
- 44:22Speaker 1: tell me that one of the side effects of preaching
- 44:25Speaker 1: this message was going to make people get quiet. But
- 44:29Speaker 1: I don't care. I don't care because you're not balanced
- 44:36Speaker 1: until you can operate in both graces. Amen. Until you
- 44:42Speaker 1: can operate in both graces. When you can still be
- 44:45Speaker 1: strong and that's true. And on the other hand, you
- 44:49Speaker 1: can be vulnerable and that's still true. And you don't
- 44:52Speaker 1: think any less of yourself. Because you understand that sometimes
- 44:59Speaker 1: it takes more power to be vulnerable than it does
- 45:03Speaker 1: to be powerful. And you never learned that because nobody
- 45:08Speaker 1: modeled it in front of you. They either were extremely
- 45:12Speaker 1: powerful and showed no mercy or extremely merciful and showed
- 45:19Speaker 1: no power. And now you got a lopsided fight. You're
- 45:24Speaker 1: not using the fullness of what you got. So they
- 45:27Speaker 1: hired Delilah because they knew that he couldn't handle the
- 45:32Speaker 1: side effect. Can I preach this text? Yes. I feel
- 45:40Speaker 1: like preaching this text. I feel like I'm talking to somebody.
- 45:43Speaker 1: I'm talking to somebody. The strong display of power was
- 45:50Speaker 1: in the prescription, his ability to be vulnerable, the character weakness,
- 45:55Speaker 1: his side effects. The great deception is that it wasn't
- 46:00Speaker 1: the big stuff. It was the little things. The things,
- 46:06Speaker 1: isn't it funny how you can get in an argument,
- 46:09Speaker 1: they can cuss you out and you can handle it?
- 46:12Speaker 1: But if they said you wasn't a good mama? You
- 46:21Speaker 1: would rather them call you a tramp and you come
- 46:24Speaker 1: right back at them. Your mammy was a tramp. Your
- 46:27Speaker 1: grandmama was a tramp. But when they said you wasn't
- 46:31Speaker 1: a good mama, it hit a soft spot. Come on,
- 46:34Speaker 1: come on, hit a soft spot. And all of a sudden,
- 46:37Speaker 1: a tear's over in the corner. What do you mean
- 46:39Speaker 1: I'm not a good mother? I was always a good mother.
- 46:42Speaker 1: I did side effects. And they hired Delilah to be
- 46:48Speaker 1: a side effect. And it brought him to his knees.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Now here's the killer part. I assumed that the coming
- 46:59Speaker 1: of Delilah was about sex. But I cannot find in
- 47:05Speaker 1: the scriptures where Samson and Delilah had sex. Maybe they did,
- 47:13Speaker 1: but they didn't tell us. Every time I see Samson
- 47:19Speaker 1: with Delilah, he is laying his head down. Come on,
- 47:26Speaker 1: I know this word. I know this word. He is
- 47:30Speaker 1: laying his head in her lap. So he compromised all
- 47:35Speaker 1: that he was as a judge for a nap. Y'all
- 47:43Speaker 1: don't hear what I'm saying. Y'all don't hear what I'm saying. See,
- 47:48Speaker 1: he found some place. She could have took all that
- 47:58Speaker 1: switching back home. He found the place where he could
- 48:02Speaker 1: lay his head. And I don't know who I'm talking to,
- 48:06Speaker 1: but I'm after somebody that your real problem is not
- 48:11Speaker 1: your carnality. It's your weariness. You don't have a safe
- 48:22Speaker 1: place To lay your head. You don't have a place
- 48:31Speaker 1: that won't criticize you and tell you you just need
- 48:35Speaker 1: to man up. You don't have a place where you
- 48:40Speaker 1: can be a girl again. You're scared to death to
- 48:48Speaker 1: be a girl again because you don't trust anybody else
- 48:51Speaker 1: to take care of you but you because you've always
- 48:54Speaker 1: had to take care of you and it's the only
- 48:56Speaker 1: role that you've learned the script to. And if you've
- 49:00Speaker 1: learned the script for one role you can only play
- 49:03Speaker 1: one part. You have never had the luxury of being scared.
- 49:14Speaker 1: The luxury of being tired. The luxury of being vulnerable.
- 49:20Speaker 1: And you do good with God because you can't see him.
- 49:32Speaker 1: But to make yourself vulnerable to somebody you can see
- 49:38Speaker 1: You can't, you just, you ain't hearing it. Because you
- 49:44Speaker 1: never were scripted to be human. And you know what
- 49:48Speaker 1: the problem is? You're tired. And you don't understand being
- 49:55Speaker 1: tired is a side effect of being strong. When you've
- 50:01Speaker 1: been strong too long When you've been tough all your life.
- 50:11Speaker 1: When every morning you had to fight. You don't know
- 50:16Speaker 1: how to just relax. And say I'm tired. He knew,
- 50:25Speaker 1: watch this, I'm almost done. He knew she was trying
- 50:30Speaker 1: to kill him. Still he laid his head in her lap.
- 50:36Speaker 1: She asked him where his strength was. He lied to
- 50:39Speaker 1: her over and over again. Now, once I find out
- 50:43Speaker 1: you're trying to kill me, all attraction goes. Okay? All
- 50:51Speaker 1: attraction goes. As long as I don't think you're trying
- 50:53Speaker 1: to kill me, I'm good. But when I find out
- 50:56Speaker 1: that you're really trying to hurt me for real, you
- 51:00Speaker 1: ain't nearly as cute as you was a minute ago.
- 51:04Speaker 1: You're not, no, no. All of that goes away. All
- 51:08Speaker 1: of that dries up because you're trying to kill me.
- 51:11Speaker 1: But he was so desperate. Y'all don't hear. God, make
- 51:15Speaker 1: them hear it because I can't do it without you.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Make them hear it. You don't hear how desperate he
- 51:21Speaker 1: was for a place to lay his head. And my
- 51:27Speaker 1: assignment this morning, what God called me to preach to
- 51:30Speaker 1: you this morning, is that there would be many people
- 51:34Speaker 1: in this room and watching on stream right now who
- 51:37Speaker 1: do not have a safe place to lay your head.
- 51:45Speaker 1: And it's been so long since you've had it, you
- 51:49Speaker 1: convince yourself you don't need it. And even if you
- 51:55Speaker 1: got it, you don't know how to treat it. And
- 51:59Speaker 1: now you push away What you could rest in. Because
- 52:09Speaker 1: you don't know how to be tired. You don't know
- 52:17Speaker 1: how to be tired. You know how to fight. You
- 52:23Speaker 1: know how to kill. You know how to destroy. You
- 52:27Speaker 1: know how to attack. You don't know how to be tired.
- 52:33Speaker 1: And for a moment of laying his head, he risked
- 52:38Speaker 1: his life to lay his head. He lost his eyes
- 52:45Speaker 1: to lay his head. He went blind and lost his
- 52:51Speaker 1: vision to lay his head. And I'm wondering how many
- 52:56Speaker 1: people in here are praying for vision but you can't
- 52:59Speaker 1: get vision because you are so desperate to find a
- 53:03Speaker 1: place to lay your head that you've lost your vision.
- 53:07Speaker 1: And I'm wondering how many people in here are treading
- 53:10Speaker 1: at the mill with the oxus when you are a
- 53:15Speaker 1: judge over Israel. You are the end of an era.
- 53:20Speaker 1: You are the last judge before we see kings. And
- 53:25Speaker 1: you cannot be the judge that brings us into kings
- 53:31Speaker 1: because you've lost your vision. And when Hollywood does it,
- 53:40Speaker 1: they try to make it lurid and sexual and vivacious
- 53:45Speaker 1: and all of these kinds of things. They try to
- 53:48Speaker 1: make it salacious. They try to appeal to our shoes.
