A new senior living facility called Calyx Senior Living of Wilmington is poised to break ground in New Hanover County’s underserved northern region, tackling a critical shortage of assisted and memory care beds for aging residents. The project, set to cover 49,000 square feet on land that requires wetland mitigation, aims to serve over 7,000 seniors within a five-mile radius — a population expected to grow.
