- 0:04My name is Victor Furman. Some call me the Voice. I've always been
- 0:10fascinated with human nature, spirituality, science and the crossroads at which they meet.
- 0:17Join me now and we will explore these topics and so much more with
- 0:22fascinating guests, authors and experts who will guide us to Destination Unlimited, our
- 0:39soulmate relationships real. Furthermore, if we choose to reincarnate with our soulmate,
- 0:47what challenges may we face and what lessons do we learn in the process.
- 0:53My guest this week one Destination Unlimited medium and author Kathleen Ready Dia, developed
- 1:00a deeper understanding of soulmates and reincarnation from her spirit guides. Ten years ago,
- 1:07Kathleen was working as a lawyer and writing in her spirit time. Some
- 1:12personal losses led her on a spiritual journey that ultimately resulted in her being able
- 1:19to channel the spirits of her loved ones and also spirit guides and teachers.
- 1:25The information she received changed her perspective and her life, and she left the
- 1:30practice of law to write novels based on the principles she had learned. Her
- 1:34website is Kathleen Ready Diane dot com, and she joins me this week to
- 1:40share her path and new novel about the challenges and blessings of soulmate relationships before
- 1:47we were born. Please join me in welcoming to Destination Unlimited. Kathleen Ready,
- 1:55Diane, Welcome, Kathleen, Hi, Victor. Thank you so much
- 1:59for having me, and thank you so much for joining us and sharing your
- 2:02wonderful story and amazing experience. So please share with us your early path and
- 2:07the events that shaped your life. Well, I'd have to start by saying,
- 2:13I am the youngest of five girls, and my parents were really wonderful
- 2:20parents, and they raised us. I think they were the first feminists,
- 2:23you know, certainly the first that I knew. But they raised us with
- 2:27the idea that we can do anything. And you know, I just felt
- 2:31empowered from the time I was a child to try different things and to go
- 2:36in different directions. I think that is important because I have changed paths many
- 2:42times along the way. That was the first, you know, really important
- 2:46thing for my childhood. And did you have any experiences with psychic phenomena when
- 2:53you were a child, You know, I'm looking back, I can remember
- 2:59having dreams of my grandparents who had passed, but I didn't recognize them as
- 3:05anything psychic or you know, as any form of mediumship. I understand now
- 3:10you were a lawyer and a business owner. How did your transition from those
- 3:15roles into author and medium? Well, um, I was practicing law when
- 3:22I when I developed my mediumship, and it was really over a course of
- 3:25years through practice of meditation and um, you know, just different you know,
- 3:32spiritual practices I employed, UM, my husband and I our partners and
- 3:38all this and our spiritual education, and we started, you know, trying
- 3:43to communicate with spirit and we had been introduced to you know, many mediums
- 3:49who gave us really wonderful messages and you know, and then we also had
- 3:53an opportunity to try table tipping um and that you know was a form of
- 3:59physical mediumship. And when that happened, that made us really want to go
- 4:03deeper and to be able to speak to people who we had lost. I
- 4:09have lost both my parents now, but at that time I had lost my
- 4:12mom at a young age and also my sister and my husband had lost his
- 4:16dad at a young age. And we were really drawn to this and we
- 4:20started practicing you know, meditation with intention, you know, asking for help
- 4:28with opening up you know, the third eye, and then we started table
- 4:33tipping on our own and over a course of really in the beginning it was
- 4:39very fast because I was very intense about this, and I started seeing spirit
- 4:44lights, and I started, you know, seeing outlines of spirits in our
- 4:47home, and sometimes I'd wake up and I'd see someone standing at the end
- 4:53of the bed. I mean, it was it was really like a phenomenal,
- 4:56you know, fascinating time in our lives. And then the two of
- 5:00us working together, Um, you know, initially we were using a table
- 5:04that would go back and forth and give us messages, which is table tipping,
- 5:09and then um, you know, slowly I began to hear what the
- 5:12spirits were saying, and with even a little more time, they started to
- 5:16come right through and speak right through my mouth. And that is them,
- 5:21you know. Really the backbone of our spiritual experiences is having this direct contact
- 5:30with these you know, family and friends in the spirit world, and also
- 5:33with guides and teachers. So my my pull towards practicing law went away real
- 5:40quick, Victor. It was just it was not compelling anymore. This was
- 5:45something that was it brought so much meaning to our lives, and we already
- 5:50had a wonderful life. Don't get me wrong, um, but this is
- 5:56this shifted everything. It changed our path. We had so much more peace,
- 6:03we had hope, We had a feeling of again, of empowerment,
- 6:08which I think is an important thing when you're about to change your path,
- 6:14because we felt like we were able to talk to our spirit family and they
- 6:18were able to, you know, to let us know that they were they
- 6:21were doing just fine. You know, they were in a different plane of
- 6:26existence, but they were still existing just as much as we are. And
- 6:30that it it changes the way you see the world absolutely. For our listeners
- 6:36not familiar with a session, please just describe what a table tipping session is
- 6:41like, Okay, sure, yeah, So there's this like a small pedestal
- 6:46table, just like something you'd see there. Most of them are like the
- 6:48old fashioned ones, like we picked one up in a antique store to use,
- 6:54but they're probably like twenty inches around something like that. Something you can
- 6:58even do smaller, but just room for you to put your fingers on it.
- 7:01And it's a group, a small group of people that sit around the
- 7:04circle and you put your hands on it and you set an intention of communicating
- 7:10with people in the spirit world. And you know, sometimes it takes a
- 7:15little bit to get it to move. But what eventually happens is it it
- 7:19begins to vibrate the table and you can feel it under your fingers. It's
- 7:24starting to vibrate and then um, you know, if if you have the
- 7:30if you make a good connection and the energy is coming through, the table
- 7:33will start to rock. And we've actually witnessed the table get up and basically
- 7:39your hands are still on it, but it's moving around the room. It's
- 7:43it's a it's a it's it's a mind blowing thing to see. But what
- 7:48would happen is when we were first exploring all these ways of communication, the
- 7:55table would tap out a message by you know, if it was if the
- 7:59first letter of the word was an A. It would just go once and
- 8:01then it would stop. So we'd start. It was kind of a slow
- 8:05process, but we would write down the messages. My husband recorded, like,
- 8:11you know, a notebooks full of information that came from spirit and some
- 8:15of it was from the early days of table tipping, and then later when
- 8:18we sort of moved away from even using that using a table or anything like
- 8:24it. You know, it's also very similar to automatic writing. If anybody
- 8:30you know out there has tried that, but just allowing the spirit to come
- 8:35in and line up with me and then speak to us. Now, you
- 8:37had mentioned Claire buoyance being able to see spirit and energy, Claire audience being
- 8:43able to hear which other Claire's open for you, and please describe how you
- 8:48recognize them. Okay, So the first thing I experienced was Claire sentience,
- 8:54which is when you're able to feel the touch of a spirit near you.
- 8:58From me, the first thing that I noticed was like a It feels like
- 9:05a spider web being dragged across your skin, across your arms or the tops
- 9:09of your hands. Also, it can be the feeling of electricity and your
- 9:13hair, as if you've just you know, walked across a carpet with your
- 9:20socks on, and you know, you get that electric feeling. For me,
- 9:24it feels like that. And I've also felt, you know, like
- 9:28a pressure, like particularly when I was my third eye was beginning to open,
- 9:33when I'd be going to sleep at night but you know, still wide
- 9:35awake, but first getting to bed, I would feel these pressures on uh,
- 9:41you know the top of my head and on my forehead, and I
- 9:43think it was, you know, people helping me to open up. Absolutely.
- 9:50One of the things that opened for me, strangely enough, in my
- 9:52late forties was clear old factants smelling and what had manifested for me every time
- 10:00I was getting communication. I started smelling roses and there were no roses anywhere
- 10:03inside, but that smell of roses was an indication to me that spirit was
- 10:09coming through. So what advice would you offer to listeners trying to recognize their
- 10:13own clares or develop them. Probably the most important thing is to trust your
- 10:18gut, you know, to sit quiet, and you know, I know
- 10:22a lot of people don't like meditation and I'm always not always great about it
- 10:26either, Victor. But just to sit quiet and just try to, you
- 10:31know, open up to because you know, everybody has a spirit guide,
- 10:35at least one guide is here with us, and often we have family members
- 10:41that are traveling, you know, that are staying close, and just try
- 10:46to be aware of their presence. Just very quietly, softly open up to
- 10:50that. And I think distrust it if you think, I imagine it was
- 10:54similar with you. When you started smelling the roses, you knew, you
- 10:58knew what it was, absolutely, yeah, you know it in your gut.
- 11:03Absolutely you had mentioned meditation. Many of our listeners have a regular practice
- 11:09of yoga and meditation. How does meditation help you open to that connection.
- 11:15I think it just clears a channel. Honestly, there there are ways that
- 11:20we block our channel. I'm a recovering alcoholic. I've been sober for you
- 11:24know, over thirty years. I had a you know, my teenage years
- 11:28were you know where I was sort of on a very different path. And
- 11:35um, when I got sober in my twenties, I I started having different
- 11:41I had some um, you know, past life remembrances. I have little
- 11:46flashes of dreams. As I was going to sleep, lots of things were
- 11:48starting to come to me. And I didn't understand why that was happening.
- 11:52But you know, after I had gone through some of these other things in
- 11:56my life and experienced some communication, I came to understand that that channel was
- 12:01completely blocked. And I had always had I had always had this ability,
- 12:07but I hadn't allowed it. And so you know, being able to me,
- 12:11it's it's meditation, but it's it's prayer. I you know, I
- 12:16am. I'm a big believer in prayer. I mean, just for I'm
- 12:20not, you know, telling anybody to do anything that doesn't feel right to
- 12:24them. It's just for me, it's an acknowledgement of you know, what
- 12:28we want to call if it's God, if it's you know, the God
- 12:31Force, so the Great Spirit. For me, it's that to understand that
- 12:35there is this enormous, enormous source of love and that's what God is to
- 12:41me. And so for me to stay on a good, clear path,
- 12:43I have to be remember to acknowledge that. And so you know, I
- 12:48do that as soon as I wake in the morning. The first thing I
- 12:50do is look out the window and express gratitude. I was just going to
- 12:56say, gratitude is also so important. Yes, it is. It's really
- 13:01a key to almost everything in life, isn't it. It is? It
- 13:05changes, it changes you know, the way, it's your perspective. I
- 13:09suppose absolutely. It makes you recognize the blessings in your life and be thankful
- 13:16for them. And I think if everyone did that, had practice of gratitude
- 13:18on a daily basis, their lives would be changed. Yes, now we'll
- 13:24be discussing your latest book before we were born, but please tell us about
- 13:28your earlier works. Okay, you know I started writing when I was you
- 13:35know, even like you know, as a young child, I used I
- 13:37always loved books and I love words, and so I've always been drawn to
- 13:41that. In my twenties, I wrote quite a bit of poetry and I
- 13:45had a little bit of poetry published, some short stories published, that kind
- 13:48of thing. But I didn't attempt a novel until after I got sober,
- 13:52and that was such a life changing event for me. I felt that I
- 13:58needed to write about it, and so I wrote this book. It's called
- 14:03la Ice and which is a term, a slang term for the drug methamphetamine.
- 14:09And it's about you know, these people who meet in a drug rehab
- 14:13and most of the book takes place there, and the focus is on how
- 14:18each of these people affect each other's lives. Meeting each other helps them to
- 14:22understand something about themselves and to you know, get to a better place.
- 14:28Hopefully, you know, not all of them do. But that was that
- 14:31was my first book. And you also wrote a book for kids, I
- 14:37did, Yes, I wrote a book called Cape Cod Bear. And the
- 14:41reason I wrote this is I live in Massachusetts. I live in on Plymouth
- 14:46and you know, back in two thousand and twelve. Out of the blue,
- 14:50this little black bear just showed up in Plymouth, and we don't have
- 14:54bears here. And as he was making his way on a little journey that
- 15:00he took all the way to the end of Cape Cod, which is really
- 15:03quite a hike, people were spotting him and calling into newspapers and every day
- 15:09would be on the news where the black bear was seen. And so,
- 15:13yeah, I wrote a story about Barney the cape Cod bear in his little
- 15:18vacation on Cape Cod. Wonderful. Now, your latest book is Before We
- 15:24Were Born. Reincarnation is the story arc of Before We Were Born. You
- 15:31share that you have seen glimpses of past lives during meditation and while communicating with
- 15:37spirit. What were some of your past lives like? You know, I
- 15:41don't have great detail, but I have seen these glimpses of things. I
- 15:46know that I have been in a past life, or I think more than
- 15:50one past life. I was Native American, and I have a little bit
- 15:52of an understanding of what that history was. And some of my family from
- 16:00those lives have traveled with me, and so I still communicate. And you
- 16:06know, one of them the spirits that I communicate with is his name is
- 16:10Standing Bear, and he's he isn't in the book, you know. And
- 16:15even though Before We Were Born is a it's a fictional story. It's about
- 16:19two you know, fictional characters who you know travel here together because you know
- 16:26their soulmates who travel together through lifetimes. So that's all. None of that
- 16:32is real. It's a novel, but um, you know, the concepts
- 16:36are real. They're based on the things that we learned from communicating with spirit.
- 16:41And because I am very close to this particular spirit named Standing Bear,
- 16:45I wanted to write him into the book. And how did Before We Were
- 16:49Born unfold for you? The novel itself? Yes, you know, the
- 16:56first time I sat down to write it, I actually wrote it as a
- 17:02screenplay first, Victor, for a couple of reasons. First of all,
- 17:06because I saw it as a visual story that was how it was coming to
- 17:10me. But also it helped me to organize a story that is really it's
- 17:17really far reaching, you know, because I have the two soulmates begin the
- 17:22story in the spirit world, and I know that anybody picking up that book
- 17:29is going to look at this they need to take a leap of faith,
- 17:32you know, to go through the first chapter because you know, I'm my
- 17:37musings about the spirit world are you know, some of them are based on
- 17:41things that I've seen, and you know, specifically, the White Garden is
- 17:45part of my home in the spirit world that I've seen glimpses of, you
- 17:51know, during our communications and during dreams, So I wanted to use that
- 17:56as a setting. But it's very hard to try to make something a physical
- 18:02description for people when it's it really is not a physical thing at all.
- 18:07You did a masterful job of that. Oh, thank you so much,
- 18:11Victor. I appreciate that it is such a compelling read listeners, that the
- 18:18introduction talks about these these characters in the spirit realm and how they're preparing for
- 18:23reincarnation and some of the challenges they faced. But you did an amazing job.
- 18:27Thank you for sharing that story. Oh you're welcome. Thank you for
- 18:32the comment. I appreciate that. And I think the movie would be an
- 18:34actute follow up. What are the plans? Any plans, no plans,
- 18:37But you know I'm ready, you know, and before we were born,
- 18:45your soulmate. Lead characters make choices, as I had shared, some pleasant
- 18:51and some very difficult, but it will allow them to find one another in
- 18:56the next incarnation based upon your meetingship and experiences. May we actually make choices
- 19:03before coming back, such as our parents and our life paths? Yes?
- 19:08Yes, Based on my experience, I believe we all play a role in
- 19:14choosing UM, not just our parents, but other people that we're going to
- 19:18travel with UM and our life path I think we come here with lots of
- 19:26plants. I think some of them we stick to the script and some we
- 19:29don't UM. I also think that these decisions are often made in cooperation with
- 19:34other souls, so that to me, it's it's it's you know. There's
- 19:40a line in the book where it says, you know, UM, you
- 19:42know, life is uh cooperation even when we don't know it. It's a
- 19:48creative cooperation, UM, because we're all we're all attached, we're all,
- 19:52you know, connected to each other absolutely, you know. One of the
- 19:56things that I've recognized in my life is that there have been a number of
- 20:02synchronicities presented to me throughout my life, and it took me a while to
- 20:06recognize them, especially into my mid to late thirties, where I started really
- 20:11opening and recognizing these synchronicities, and every time I would say yes to something
- 20:15that was presented to me. Every time I had three choices. I could
- 20:19say, you know, not for me and just dismiss it out of hand.
- 20:23I could say yes, that's interesting, but not right now. Or
- 20:27I could say yes, I have to pursue that right now. And every
- 20:32time I said that big yes, something wonderful happened and led to another one
- 20:37and another one. Is that what we're talking about? I love that.
- 20:41I love how you described that. Yes, I think you know. I
- 20:45think when you feel that kind of pull that your soul is excited, your
- 20:51soul saying yes, this is where we're going, let's go, let's go.
- 20:53You know when you know waiting for this. Yeah, I think it's
- 20:57an exciting thing. Absolutely. My guest is Kathleen Ready Diane. Her book
- 21:03is called Before We Were Born. Kathleen, please tell our listeners whether they
- 21:08can get your book and find out more about you and your work. Well,
- 21:12it's on Amazon. Before We Were Boring is on Amazon. It's on

- 24:00Back on Destination Unlimited. My guests this week is Kathleen Ready Diane.
- 24:04Her book is called Before We Were Born. Kathleen. In Before We Were
- 24:12Born, your protagonist, Jeremy, is born to an alcoholic mother by choice
- 24:18and for proximity to soulmate Joy. You shared before that you're in recovery from
- 24:23alcoholism and can speak to that firsthand. Was weaving your experience into Jeremy's a
- 24:30challenge for you? No, Actually, that part's easy because I've lived it,
- 24:37so I understand, you know. Sometimes, you know, parts of
- 24:41my life come out on the pages that they just flow out, and it's
- 24:47just because it just comes out, you know, naturally. It's it's I
- 24:51haven't understanding of what alcoholism does to a human being, you know, and
- 24:56what it does to the people around them, and it's a it's such a
- 25:00tragic thing, and I wanted to talk a little bit more about that,
- 25:04and so you know how often it's passed down also, So we have this
- 25:08little boy who's born, Jeremy, and we meet him, you know,
- 25:12in the first chapter, we meet him and he's Ilia, and he's this
- 25:17great soul in the spirit world, and he's this incredibly intuitive, you know,
- 25:22wonderfully kind soul, and he's going to be born again, not so
- 25:27much because he wants to come to earth again and be on the earth plane
- 25:32right now, but because his partner does. And so because she chooses to
- 25:37be with someone who was her mom in another lifetime, and she has her
- 25:41own reasons for wanting to be here, and so he rather blindly follows her
- 25:45because he loves her so much and he wants to be with her, and
- 25:48so he says, you know, I'll follow you. You know, I
- 25:52always follow you, and he does. And so he chooses to be born
- 25:56to this woman who lives just you know, a couple of houses a way
- 26:00from his soulmain knowing that this way, even in this very busy modern world
- 26:03that we're all in, he's going to meet her. And he knows that
- 26:07when he meets or he'll know her, he'll recognize her. And so the
- 26:11woman, um, you know that's having this this child, is a drug
- 26:15addict and an alcoholic and she's really just very ill. And um, she
- 26:21gives birth to this baby, who you know is Jeremy, and he's born
- 26:26three months early and he's um, tiny, tiny little baby, and he
- 26:30barely survives and he has UM. We find out later that he's born with
- 26:36fetal alcohol syndrome. We also know that he has some other impairments, you
- 26:41know, he's his vision isn't very good, and you know, he has
- 26:45some other physical impairments from being born to an alcoholic. But he's he's he's
- 26:49kind of caught now in this home life with this woman. She's you know,
- 26:53the dad is gone, his dad has moved on, and it's just
- 26:57him in this you know, really kind of raving alcoholic and he finds some
- 27:03safety and some love, you know, from this other family down the street.
- 27:07Who are you know, the family that his soul mate chose. And
- 27:11so there's this dark contrast between these two, these two lives who lived,
- 27:15you know, on the same street in the same little town, but have
- 27:19very very different experiences. Or our listeners not familiar with it, please describe
- 27:25fetal alcohol syndrome. Okay, So um, that's you know, a condition
- 27:30that can happen when a mother is drinking during pregnancy and it um, you
- 27:37know, it's it affects the fetus so that it can be you know,
- 27:41varying degrees of um you know, severity, and so sometimes like a child
- 27:47could be born really you've you know, mentally impaired. And sometimes it's like
- 27:55you can see by their face they have certain physical characteristics. For instance,
- 28:00the little dent above above the lips that there will be flat. That's one
- 28:06of the signs that the physicians will pick up on early on things like that.
- 28:10But Jeremy is born, you know, he looks flawless. He's this
- 28:15beautiful little child, and nobody picks up on it until he goes to school
- 28:18and he struggles so much and they start, you know, working with him
- 28:22and realize he's eleven years old when they finally realize this, and he's already
- 28:26fallen very far behind. But you know, it's it's just an effect of
- 28:32the pregnancy and you know, having the alcohol go into his system. Let's
- 28:37talk about soulmates. Many are familiar with the term and some are familiar with
- 28:41the concept of twin flame soulmates. Your characters and before we were born might
- 28:48easily be seen as twin flame are twin flame soulmates and relationships real you know,
- 28:56I can't really speak to twin flames in the way that I understand them,
- 29:00if you correct me if I'm wrong, But I think it's sort of
- 29:03the idea of two parts making up a hole. Yes, so that we're
- 29:07sort of missing something that has not been you know, my experience or you
- 29:12know what I've learned, But that doesn't mean you know. I certainly don't
- 29:18know even a tiny bit of all there is to know. Um. I
- 29:22just think that we have many soulmates. I don't think there's one person that's
- 29:27going to make us whole and that we're only half until we find them.
- 29:30I think we're always whole. We come here as a we come here as
- 29:34a you know, an empowered, you know, wonderful soul. We're all
- 29:40that at the source. That's what we all are, you know, And
- 29:44we don't always remember that, you know, when you look in the mirror,
- 29:47you don't always realize, like I am the soul who came forth here,
- 29:51you know, to do wonderful things, to bring love to this world,
- 29:53to you know, change things in a in a positive way. We
- 29:57don't always remember that about our ourselves. But I do believe that's that's what
- 30:00we what we all are. So it's possible to have more than one soulmate
- 30:06relationship in a lifetime. Yes, there is. And you know in Before
- 30:11We Were Born, I talk about romantic soulmates and these This really is a
- 30:18very romantic um partnership that these two have because they've traveled, you know,
- 30:22through many lifetimes together. And you know, you find out a little bit
- 30:26about this, you know later in the book when they you know, I
- 30:30don't want to give anything away, but there's times when there's there's glimpses back
- 30:33and they are realizing like all the times they've been together. Um, it's
- 30:37really a romantic idea. But we have soulmates who are you know, friends
- 30:42and family and people you know, our moms and dads are people that we
- 30:47just say, hey, you know, I'm going to travel with you this
- 30:49time, do you want to try? I really believe it's a I think
- 30:52it's cooperative. I think we choose who you know when, and you know
- 30:56who we're coming with our soulmate relationships. I'm talking about romantic soulmate relationships.
- 31:04Are they all lollipops and roses or are they challenges or do they have challenges?
- 31:11I think there's lots of challenges and I think that's part of the adventure,
- 31:17you know, and that's certainly what happens in the you know, in
- 31:19the story that I wrote. But you know, I think part of why
- 31:23I wrote it this way, Victor, is because it's not a romance novel.
- 31:29You know, it really isn't. Because it's not a formula. You
- 31:32know, life isn't that. There's not a you know, you're not going
- 31:34to ride off on the white horse with this certain guy and everything is wonderful
- 31:38then on. You know, it's it's better than that. Really, it's
- 31:42because you get to you get to grow on your own. You don't need
- 31:45anybody to rescue you. And you you, you know, you can have
- 31:49this soulmate, this person that you work with, and a partnership and um,
- 31:56you know, have this lifetime together that's probably going to go on to
- 31:59another lifetime and at least into the spirit realm when you pass out of this
- 32:02life. And you help each other to learn things, and some of those
- 32:07things are really hard, you know, like Jeremy, you know, being
- 32:12you know, he's he's he's an alcoholic. He blocks his spirit and his
- 32:15channel and suddenly you can't hear spirit anymore, which is one of the things
- 32:19that he was born with his gift, and uh that was really going to
- 32:22help him, you know, um stay on the path, and he you
- 32:27know, he blocked his own channel. But you know, we do these
- 32:30things where we're human beings and we make mistakes and we don't always stay on
- 32:34the path, you know. But our soulmates, you know, they bump
- 32:37us along and help us get back on the right path. And do we
- 32:43have soulmate relationships that follow us lifetime after lifetime. Yes, I think every
- 32:47relationship is different, just as there is here. But I am sure there
- 32:52are people that just they want to stay together. I believe that at the
- 32:58heart of all of it is is, you know, our own will what
- 33:00we want to do. You know, I don't believe that this is if
- 33:04anything is predestined, it's because we have thought very deeply about this before we
- 33:10got here and made some choices about what we would like to experience while we're
- 33:16here. I don't think anybody's you know, pulling any strings and that we're
- 33:21puppets. I think that self will is is a huge part of it.
- 33:25So we do have freedom in this process to choose who we come back with
- 33:30and how we come back yes, So it's free will, totally free will.
- 33:37It's free will, but also with guidance. So if you go off
- 33:42kind of willy nilly, which is what Jeremy does. I mean when he's
- 33:45Ilia, he says, I'll follow you no matter what, and he his
- 33:47guides are telling him, you know, pick another mother. This is not
- 33:52a good idea, and he doesn't take the advice. And so part of
- 33:57why I wrote it that way, Victor, is because I think that,
- 34:00you know, even on the other side, we're still human, even as
- 34:05as spirits. So even then we're not perfection. You know, we're not
- 34:08God. We don't There's still going to be choices that we make that maybe
- 34:14weren't the easiest. It doesn't mean they're wrong per se. But you know,
- 34:19Jeremy could have chosen someone else and you know, gone a different path
- 34:22and had faith that he was going to meet her anyway, you know,
- 34:25but he didn't. He kind of forced his will on that. Now you
- 34:30had mentioned soul families. What is the spiritual component that drives our choices of
- 34:36soul family? I'm not sure I understand the question exactly. How do we
- 34:43choose our soule family, our mothers and our fathers and our brothers and our
- 34:46sisters. What's the choice mechanism. I think it's just again, it's what
- 34:51we you know, before we come here, we've lived together before. I
- 34:54don't believe anybody comes here and is completely ranger to the entire family. And
- 35:01you know, I think there's there's always these connections, you know, even
- 35:07before, so that as a spirit making this decision to go forth and be
- 35:12on the earth plane again and being born to a certain feeling, there's a
- 35:15reason they chose that family. You know. It's interesting and without going into
- 35:19a lot of details my parents, I could see me choosing my parents because
- 35:25of the lessons that I learned through their relationship with each other, through their
- 35:30relationship with me, and how it unfolded and set me the course for my
- 35:36life to unfold. So I can understand that concept. Yes, are there
- 35:43some childhood friends that are sole friends? And how do those friendships influence our
- 35:49lives? You know, I have certainly had the feeling of that with friends
- 35:55that I grew up with. I think that, you know, the the
- 36:00people we grow up with are always influencing us. I feel too, you
- 36:05know, for the rest of my life, I'm sure I'm going to be
- 36:07influenced by the you know, my friend across the street that I climb trees
- 36:10with because it was my you know, my first feeling of really true trust
- 36:15and just being completely open. You know, as children, the way we
- 36:22are with our friends. We can't recreate that as adults. You know,
- 36:27the experiences we have when we meet people and we form these bonds, and
- 36:31I feel like, you know, those those bonds are going to last my
- 36:35lifetime. There's an innocence in those bonds, isn't there there is? And
- 36:42what is the gift of that innocence? Just kind of I think to me,
- 36:46it reminds me of who I am, you know, before I grew
- 36:50up and maybe you know, took a whole bunch of different paths and you
- 36:53know, became jaded in some ways and then grew past that in other ways.
- 36:57There's still that that reminds you really who we are as a child.
- 37:01You can look back on that and you could see yourself as a soul then,
- 37:06I think, easier than looking at your adult body and looking in the
- 37:10mirror and thinking, you know, okay, there's this is you know,
- 37:14this is just a mechanism for this soul to be here on this earth plane.
- 37:17But when I see children, you know, and I remember my own
- 37:21childhood, it makes me feel almost like what it would be like to relate
- 37:25to other people in the spirit realm because of that pure trust and openness,
- 37:31and we just we don't hold anything back. We share everything, we tell
- 37:36everything. I mean, it's it's a different kind of friendship. There was
- 37:39an old Moody Blues song called through the Eyes of a Child, and the
- 37:44lyric went, in part, through the eyes of a child or with the
- 37:46eyes of a child, you must come out and see that your world is
- 37:51spinning round and through life. You will be a small part of a whole
- 37:54of a love that exists. With the eyes of a child, you will
- 38:00see. Ah, that's beautiful, absolutely, And I think that concept of
- 38:05rebirth gives us an opportunity that reincarnation, rebirth gives us an opportunity to see
- 38:10what those eyes once again. I think that's an important reinforcement for each lifetime,
- 38:15isn't it. I think it is. Yes. Now, in before
- 38:20we were born, you share that when we reincarnate, we have soul guides,
- 38:25some of whom may have been family. How may we understand and recognize
- 38:31these soul guides. You know. The first thing you know that I would
- 38:37say is again, it's what you feel. But and you know, we
- 38:42talked about a little bit earlier about opening up to our our different gifts that
- 38:49we might have the claires, you know, and I think that it's the
- 38:52same response here is that, you know, just being really quiet with yourself
- 38:58and being open to it. Maybe you know you have, We all have
- 39:01various gifts. So you know, you shared with me that you are able
- 39:06to um, you know, the scent. You could pick up a scent
- 39:10in spirit. And some people I've heard, you know, they'll they'll smell
- 39:15pipe smoke or something around them, and you know they'll they'll start to connect,
- 39:19Oh that's what my grandfather, you know, smell and there's no one
- 39:21around smoking a pipe that kind of thing. It's just being open to it
- 39:27and and being open to it. How do we ask for their guidance?
- 39:31Just ask because anything you say, I've learned something interesting, and that is
- 39:37that even if you don't say something out loud, if you're thinking about a
- 39:40certain particular you know, person that's in spirit and your communication is um you
- 39:49know, targeted toward that person, say you're missing someone you know a lot,
- 39:52and you're thinking about you know, your your mom or your brother or
- 39:55somebody you lost, and you're thinking about them and thinking about them. That
- 39:59creates an inner of its own and that reaches them and they're able to just
- 40:04pull to you. It's they it's like they're right here. And I think
- 40:09that's a good way to connect. Absolutely. My guest Kathleen Ready Diane her

- 43:15Unlimited. My guests this week Kathleen Ready Diane. Her book is called Before
- 43:21We Were Born. Kathleen, do we have soulmate animal companions too? You
- 43:29know? I think we do. I don't know. I don't know a
- 43:31lot about this, Victor. I just know that, you know, I
- 43:36feel really strongly towards my animals. And one of the things, So we
- 43:40have a little dog, a little Boston Terrier, and we had another Boston
- 43:45Terrier before who had passed away. And I asked one of my friends in
- 43:50spirit. I knew she was going to pass, and I asked one of
- 43:52my spirit friends, would you please take her when she passes, keep her
- 43:55safe? And I know she'll be there when I get there. I know
- 44:00that they come close to us. You know how extensive that is, I
- 44:07don't know, but I do. You know, I know that they're they're
- 44:09still there, but we get there. Absolutely. Just a personal story.
- 44:15When my stepson Alex was thirteen, he had asked us for a dog,
- 44:21and we hadn't had any pets together up to that point. And I said
- 44:25to him, absolutely, we're gonna go out. We're gonna look, we're
- 44:29gonna go to several shelters here in New York. But don't fall in love
- 44:32with the first dog that you see, because we're not going to just adopt
- 44:37any dog. It has to be a dog that you're going to be comfortable.
- 44:39If he was a small guy, and and I wanted to make sure
- 44:43that this dog would not overwhelm him. And we had gone to a number
- 44:45of wonderful shelters out here in Long Island and seen many wonderful animals, but
- 44:51nothing that really connected. And we went to the final stop of the day,
- 44:53a place called the Little Shelter Long Island, and I dropped them off
- 44:59at the office and I went into the parking lot and parked, and I
- 45:01walked into the office and here is Alex laying on the floor laughing hysterically with
- 45:07this beautiful white and maroon modeled dog on top of him, licking his face.
- 45:13And I said, what's going on here? And they said, and
- 45:15Laurie Sue said, my wife said. We walked in and immediately this dog
- 45:20was there. A couple had adopted her and was bringing her back because she
- 45:23couldn't get along with the dog that they already had. And as we arrived
- 45:29this happened. So they had a situation where we could play with her for
- 45:32a little while at a special play area. And we were playing together and
- 45:37we were about to make the decision, and we had a little custom called
- 45:40the bug hug. And when we had a decision to make, we'd all
- 45:44gathered together in a circle hug each other. Snug is a bug, a
- 45:47bug and a rug, And we'd say, is this the right thing?
- 45:51And as soon as we joined into the bug hug, this dog crawled up
- 45:54between the middle of us, joined us, and we knew she was the
- 45:59one that is, and because of the fact that she kissed him when they
- 46:02met, and also it was fate that he was coming back at the same
- 46:07time that we arrived, we named her Kisspitt. Oh. It was a
- 46:12wonderful companion for many years, and she absolutely was a sole family member.
- 46:17There's no question about it. Yes, I understand that that is a beautiful
- 46:22story. Thank you. Now, there's a wonderful fable that says when we
- 46:25are born and angel or a spirit guide presses on our upper lip and gently
- 46:31says, don't tell what you've learned or seen, and this is why we
- 46:37have the depression in our upper lips and little memory of our past lives.
- 46:42Now you share that old souls remember more when we reincarnate. What do you
- 46:46think is the reason for this? I think it has to do with um,
- 46:52you know, well, you know part of it. I was going
- 46:54to say practice sounds very simplistic. But also, you know, like people
- 46:59who are who have incarnated so many times, um, I just think they're
- 47:04more in touch with their intuitive abilities, you know, like Jeremy and the
- 47:07story he's he's been through a lot, through many lifetimes. We don't know
- 47:10all those yet. You know, but we know that in the spirit realm,
- 47:15he has this gift of attracting animals to him and that they trust him
- 47:21and that they you know, they know he's going to be um you know,
- 47:23care for them. And then he you know, he has the birds
- 47:27in the book and he takes care of those birds, and you know,
- 47:30the whole story with him with the you know, the bird on his shoulder
- 47:32and walking around the neighborhood and he remembers, you know, in that scene,
- 47:37he has this sense of that old man who lives in his neighborhood who
- 47:42came by to see him when he was like two years old. He was
- 47:45out near the road by himself because his his mom wasn't you know, able
- 47:50to take care of him. And this old man came by and told him,
- 47:53you know, like he can't be out here by yourself. And Jeremy
- 47:55puts his hands on the on the old man's knee and and helps to heal
- 48:00him. You know, he's still so tapped into his spirit that he knows
- 48:06he doesn't know he's a healer. He doesn't know that he doesn't come with
- 48:08the knowledge, as you know, we would see it here in human form.
- 48:14As you know, written down anywhere. It's just something that in his
- 48:16soul he knows what the right thing to do is to touch this man on
- 48:21the knee and it's going to help him, and it does. And then
- 48:22later, you know, he remembers the man and he honors him by walking
- 48:28around the neighborhood. He knows where the man lived because he's able. His
- 48:31soul is connecting to this person, and he stops in front of his house,
- 48:36you know, and he's got this bird on his shoulder, and that's
- 48:37his ritual in the morning before he goes to school because he wants to honor
- 48:42the person who helped him on his path. You know, it's funny.
- 48:45I've been told that I've been an old soul many many times, and I
- 48:49have that sense of it that I've been around many many times before. And
- 48:52a few months ago, I had gotten myself a new pair of shoes and
- 48:57they weren't comfortable, and I put on the old shoes and they were comfortable,
- 49:00and they were sloppy, and they were in decrepit, but they were
- 49:05very comfortable. And I fought for a second. I said, you know
- 49:07what, I'm an old soul. In the old soul is really a great
- 49:14feeling. One of the important lessons you share in the book, what you
- 49:17would just describe is the healing power of touch. Does this manifest on both
- 49:23sides of the spirit realm? I think it does. I mean I feel
- 49:28like earlier when I was describing to you clear sentience and having that feeling of
- 49:34of a spirit touching me, I think it happens between the worlds. So
- 49:37I think that people, like on the spirit side, when we're feeling those
- 49:42spider webs or we're feeling the pressure on our head, it's people, you
- 49:45know, they're they're they're touching us. They're doing the same thing that we
- 49:49do. You know, we go somebody's in pain, if somebody's struggling,
- 49:52you hug them, you hold them, you know, and you're sharing your
- 49:55energy and you're loving them, and that that is how we heal each other.
- 50:00I think touches is imperative. You know, it's how you you know,
- 50:02it's how you express love and um, yeah, I think it's it's
- 50:07we still do it even in souls and in in you know, Jeremy and
- 50:10uh Joya spirits, they're Elier and Callie and they talk about how you know,
- 50:17you know, they're they're they're really like light. They're we're made of
- 50:21light when we don't have the body. And and they're saying like when they're
- 50:24embracing each other in spirit, it's they don't know where one begins in the
- 50:29other one ends and the other begins, because this is the blending of their
- 50:31energies. Absolutely, one of the most moving concepts that you share in before
- 50:38we were born is and I quote, love is the law that governs all
- 50:45that is and all that will ever be. How may we remember this when
- 50:51we reincarnate into a world that surely needs that love? Now you know,
- 50:57well it you know, I don't know what to say, because that's something,
- 51:00um, it's hard for us to remember on a daily basis now,
- 51:05you know, and and you know, it's just to me, it's just
- 51:09being in touch with with your soul, which is just this whole uh,
- 51:15tapping into your intuitive self and understanding, coming to the understanding that you are
- 51:22you are a sacred soul. You know that whoever you are here on the
- 51:27earth plane, and it doesn't matter how successful or you know, how messy
- 51:32or how you know, whatever your life has been, at any point in
- 51:37time, you can stop and realize if you take that time to connect with
- 51:42that and realize that you are a sacred soul. And if you are that,
- 51:45you're not going to want to harm anyone else or anything else, because
- 51:52that's not what you are your love, you know. And so I guess
- 51:55the answer to that is to look inside, because if you want to remember
- 51:59that love is the law that governs all, that is, all that will
- 52:01ever be. It's really if you see inside yourself and you make peace with
- 52:06that, and you understand how great you are as a soul and you don't
- 52:10hurt anybody, and you don't you know, it's just you're aligning yourself with
- 52:14that concept. You know. It's interesting that when I attended the New Seminary
- 52:17for Interfaith Studies, one of the things that we learned is that in virtually
- 52:22every faith around the world, there is an iteration of the Golden rule,
- 52:28doing to others as you'd have them doing to you, Love thy neighbor as
- 52:30thyself. If everybody practice that, what a world we would have, wouldn't
- 52:34it? That's all we need? That's it, because it does. It
- 52:38just encompasses, It encompasses all the religions and all the you know, it's
- 52:45really all we would need to live a beautiful life and have peace on earth.
- 52:51Absolutely. What would you like readers to take away from before we were
- 52:54born? I really wrote the book because I wanted to let people know how
- 53:00much it, you know, having the information that I have as a medium.
- 53:06It has made me feel less afraid of living my life the way I
- 53:12want to live my life. It's made me less afraid of death, and
- 53:15it's given me so much solace because I know that everyone that I love who
- 53:20has passed over to the spirit world is alive and well and I mean really
- 53:25living joyfully. I've had so many examples of that through through you know,
- 53:31mediumship communication, of people coming back and showing themselves to me and saying,
- 53:36don't worry about me, see me, I'm I'm doing wonderfully. They're full
- 53:39of love and light and they're just so joyful, and I just would like
- 53:45to pass that on. I hope people take that away from the book.
- 53:49There is no death, just a change of situation. That's right. Absolutely.
- 53:53Please tell us about your next book. Ah well, I have a
- 53:58book coming out in October which is not part of this. I'm working on
- 54:02a series for this book Victor. I'm working on a I'm writing a sequel
- 54:07to Before We Were Born right now. But in between the two, I
- 54:10wrote another book. It's called Bridge Jumping, and it's you know, kind
- 54:15of what you and I were just talking about a couple of minutes ago,
- 54:17about different religions and what's at the heart of them. And this is a
- 54:23story about this woman. We open up the first chapter and it's her funeral.
- 54:30She's forty years old and she's passed away, and she's asked for her
- 54:34body to be cremated and divided into twelve glass vials and for the people closest
- 54:40to her to you know, each take a vial and bring it to a
- 54:44place that would honor the relationship that they had with her. And so it's
- 54:49really about you know, different spiritual paths and where they lead us and how
- 54:54they affect our relationships and you know, our perspectives on life. UM.
- 55:00And we get to you know, know, the protagonist is her name is
- 55:05Page, and she's still the protagonist because she's even though she's passed. From
- 55:07the beginning, UM, you know, we're following some of her journal entries
- 55:12as we go through, and you know, every chapter leads to another another
- 55:15one of her family or you know family members or friends. Where they're going
- 55:19with the ashes and why they're taking them there, and um, you know
- 55:22it has a lot to do with you know, how we how we heal
- 55:27from from grief. Absolutely, my guest Kathleen Ready Diane, her book Before
- 55:35We Were Born. One more time, please tell our listeners can get your
- 55:37book and find out more about you. Um, you can look at my
