- 1:08just a little bit longer, you know, get into that mood.
- 1:26All right. Yes.
- 1:33Yes, yes, yes, yes. So interesting thing about this
- 1:37track particular came out a couple went about three years
- 1:42ago now. Yeah, 2018.
- 1:50And the the information that you read about it on the video
- 1:54description on on YouTube is that it's a part of an
- 2:00instrument that hold on a second, guys.
- 2:07That. Goodness, gracious, where is it?
- 2:13There it is. The instrument is found during
- 2:19an excavation site. It's this so called what's it
- 2:25called? Falster falster, pipe anyway,
- 2:29this was found during a excavation in Denmark and it's
- 2:36believed this. This instrument could have been
- 2:39part of like a bagpipe or something like that but anyway.
- 2:46That's what you just heard. And yeah, so Halen, welcome

- 6:42friend over there in Was it Missouri?
- 6:47Brian. Bring Ya Back?
- 6:48Yep. So like I mentioned earlier
- 6:50before you came on here Patrick you know you were you were on
- 6:54the podcast I think at the early part of season, two earlier this
- 6:58year and talked about some really cool things I will.
- 7:05So if anybody that's listening watching whatever he wants to
- 7:08Head back and listen or watch. I don't think it was a video at
- 7:11the time. But yeah.
- 7:12Anybody that wants to listen to the last podcast that Patrick
- 7:14was here was on here with me than just check the description
- 7:18or check the show notes of the of today's episode and you can
- 7:25see what we talk about. As I recall we were we were
- 7:27going into some like Where we came from and like how it kind
- 7:32of led up into our respective, Henry.
- 7:35I know you were if I recall correctly, brought up, we did
- 7:39all of them all, and then we also explain our all our
- 7:45backgrounds and where we came from, and how music can actually
- 7:49got put into that conversation as well.
- 7:53Oh, yeah. And it just went off into all
- 7:55kinds of neat places but, um, so yeah.
- 7:57First, you know, first and foremost as As always, like I
- 7:59say, thank you for taking time and today was actually a, you
- 8:03know, the time recording this podcast, when this airs, it's my
- 8:07birthday. So you know, November 11th, this
- 8:10is when it's airing today we're recording and of course in
- 8:13advance. But want to just say, you know,
- 8:14thanks for being available on such short notice because I know
- 8:19we had talked about you coming on here and it was going to be
- 8:22like weeks down the road or maybe even next month, wasn't
- 8:25sure and and happy birthday. Yeah.
- 8:28Appreciate I mean like 37 years, I've been traipsing around on
- 8:32this this rock somehow made it this far.
- 8:36So yeah, all the bumps and potholes and waterfalls and
- 8:44crazy. Rollercoaster rides along the
- 8:46way man. It's feeling those miles.
- 8:49Now you know, right. All of those experiences are
- 8:54definitely Putting some wear and tear on this alternate takes its
- 8:59toll. Yeah, but yeah, I'm just going
- 9:02to keep on, you know, keep on doing my thing.
- 9:04Keep on keeping on until I until I can't.
- 9:07But yeah. Just so, you know, I figured a
- 9:12fun thing to do today, you actually are just a little bit.
- 9:18I want to say was like about a month ago, a little bit over a
- 9:20month ago where you were in the state of Colorado and you saw
- 9:26some, some some performance, right?
- 9:31That's correct. Yeah.
- 9:32And it was I don't know, is this?
- 9:34It was this is this little band that some people may have heard
- 9:37of called Highland, right? Yeah, people may have heard of
- 9:42them. Maybe.
- 9:44Yeah, maybe, but no, man. Like I think if I, if I A bigger
- 9:48fan of high alone anywhere. I'd be surprised just because of
- 9:53this is the guy here folks, like, Patrick Walsh.
- 9:55Yeah. He's the, I mean, if he could be
- 9:59the height man or whatever of hyelin, I think this is, this is
- 10:03the guy right here. So on this is not that this
- 10:07wasn't your just your first time, seeing them either right
- 10:10now, this is beyond my second time, saying, I'm the first time
- 10:13was in Chicago and January 2020, and that was Right before the
- 10:19pandemic really hit hard. So I got really lucky there.
- 10:23Yeah, yeah, cuz been man after that it was it was an absolute
- 10:28shit show. Absolutely, for, for the biggest
- 10:31part of the year. So so that's interesting.
- 10:35So I want to, I wanted to see if you could talk a bit.
- 10:37Of course I would love to hear about the whole experience as it
- 10:40were but I was really like to wonder, you know, pre covid and
- 10:44then kind of post covid. I mean the pandemic Isn't
- 10:48necessarily, you know, it's me, it's all around us.
- 10:51We hear about it all the time. This whole covid-19 thing, but I
- 10:54was just wondering, you know, the experience pre-pandemic or
- 10:57pre covid versus the experience that you had a little over a
- 11:03month ago, what, where if any notable differences or did it
- 11:08feel different? Was it, you know, just, I'd love
- 11:10to hear your thoughts about just the whole thing.
- 11:12Absolutely. So our first time seeing him
- 11:17Chicago, Was obviously, you know, they're both life-changing
- 11:21experiences. But, um, as far as the pandemic
- 11:24goes, you know, there wasn't really a drastic difference per
- 11:27se. I mean, you know, people know a
- 11:31lot of people but some were wearing masks at the out, the
- 11:34Colorado virtual. But yeah, Chicago though it's
- 11:39funny. Um, I didn't see them that well,
- 11:42as far as seating. Why if they've looked like, you
- 11:44know, little toy soldiers in the distance, kind of thing.
- 11:48But the venue was jam-packed and I remember my friend and I when
- 11:53we got there, the line we were in was off for blocks long.
- 11:58Oh, wow. Yeah yeah, that was a doozy and
- 12:01it was freezing to and it's one of those general admission shows
- 12:06work. You got there at the ass crack
- 12:08and Dawn you got the best spot. Oh wow.
- 12:11Okay so yeah, first come first serve exactly.
- 12:15Unfortunately, I was that though someone who, you know, not bad
- 12:19for say but we had other things to do as well.
- 12:21So it is still all around. You know.
- 12:24Excellent show us. Actually, cool is the night
- 12:27before we were I like a little party and the person hosting
- 12:32this party, actually sent a video of us in some pictures to
- 12:36a high long directly. So then later on that evening I
- 12:41was with my friend that's a real trip of a story.
- 12:45You know what I mean? But um we're sitting there and
- 12:48my friend tells me that they responded to us via video and
- 12:54I'd be happy to share that with you sometime but it was really
- 12:58trippy. See Maria and some of the
- 13:00members you know saying how happy and excited they were to
- 13:03see us and then Chi at the very end, as I get fucked up to them.
- 13:09Accident. Yeah, classic guy but uh it was
- 13:14really cool though. Dang.
- 13:17So yeah, I mean I've been to plenty of just I haven't been to
- 13:19a hilum show ritual and I like that.
- 13:22That's what. Yeah, that's pretty much.
- 13:23Like just what everyone calls him.
- 13:24Like it's not a, not a concert. I mean it is but it's you know
- 13:28what? Everyone calls him.
- 13:29It's like you experienced hilum, you know, it's an experience,
- 13:32it's a ritual experience. It's not just, you know like
- 13:35you're standing in a in a theater and listening to music.
- 13:38You're a part of something bigger.
- 13:41Yeah. And that's the thing about
- 13:43highlighting at being a fan and just someone who casually
- 13:46listens to him, I mean, I struggled to even be able to see
- 13:49a casual listener for me, ever since I really got into high
- 13:53long, it really transform my perspective and appreciating and
- 13:59enjoy music on many different levels because speaking on the
- 14:04pandemic, I remember after seeing them and Chicago.
- 14:11I was having a really awesome time in life, but then shortly
- 14:14after one, that picked them up, is getting really bad life that
- 14:17very difficult and I was going to the there's some very
- 14:19difficult times and how long you know that sounds corny but never
- 14:25ceases to fail, and never fails me and never lets me down.
- 14:29It always. Let's do have and puts be in the
- 14:31right mindset that I wish to be in and it's this, you know,
- 14:36overall incredible experience. And I remember I'll see the
- 14:40after that, up ritual, I joined a Facebook group called up high
- 14:46like spiritual tribe community. And I'll tell you what, I met
- 14:50some incredible people and made some amazing friends.
- 14:54Some of which have come to visit me and then some I've come to
- 14:57visit. As I've mentioned, you might rip
- 15:00the Arkansas or not Arkansas but Indiana the visit one of my
- 15:04friends. I met on that website though.
- 15:07Oh, really the like really Actual the, you know, the online
- 15:10form that that turned into real real friendships, you know.
- 15:15Yeah, real Community. Yeah, that's awesome.
- 15:20Did they were they at the with the, the Indiana folks were they
- 15:23at the Colorado? Unfortunately, they were a
- 15:26table, they weren't able to make it unfortunately, due to coveted
- 15:31issues as well. Yeah, yeah man.
- 15:34It's kick a lot of people's ass that I know in some way form or
- 15:37fashion. Right.
- 15:40But did no. No.
- 15:46I'll never forget my I specifically made sure to get my
- 15:50vaccinations just because I knew I wanted to travel and to see
- 15:54them and also just to get that peace of mind.
- 15:58Just know I took all the precautions necessary to make
- 16:00that trip possible but it's just the weeks leading up to it.
- 16:04But my anxiety was through the roof and I was just making sure
- 16:07everything was perfect. And just to finally that morning
- 16:11get to the airport and then leave to go to Colorado, just a
- 16:13great, you know, weight lifted off.
- 16:16My shoulders is incredible. Yeah, huge resolving, anything
- 16:19could have happened, right? Up to that point, like they
- 16:21could have Highland that they could have run into a situation
- 16:25had to cancel. I mean, it happens, right?
- 16:27And fortunately for everybody that was there and yourself
- 16:32included, you know, that that didn't happen, which is great
- 16:35because like, just the nature of the music.
- 16:38The nature of how they perform the music, the the ritual
- 16:44theater aspect of it, all living out the songs.
- 16:48And, you know, again, it's like, I think I'm wondering if the
- 16:55experience following the covid situation and going to a
- 17:00Highland ritual now is even more impactful and and and and does
- 17:07even more for somebody because As look at the look at
- 17:10everything that's happened in the year and a half since you
- 17:14know shit hit the fan as it were right.
- 17:16Like people's lives have been changed forever, you know, loved
- 17:20ones have been lost their you know just the whole world has
- 17:23really changed a lot and then a short period of time and what
- 17:27what what huiling offers and the terms of their music and their
- 17:30performances is. So like it's medicinal in a way
- 17:34like it offers healing and and again, following the As of last
- 17:40year and a half. If it wasn't impactful to you
- 17:43before, all that going through, its surviving and then going to
- 17:47something like this. How much more is, it does?
- 17:49It sing tossed, touch our souls even more.
- 17:51So, absolutely. And that's the thing, I'm glad
- 17:54you mentioned, that is, as far as like the crowd, you know, the
- 17:58people who win, there's a huge difference.
- 18:01As far as the turnout in Chicago, it was a very mix up
- 18:08like, you know, Oh people who are just you could tell were
- 18:10invited and weren't really familiar with high long whereas
- 18:14the the Red Rocks ritual, you knew anyone who is they're like
- 18:1999 percent of them were in it for the ritual were in it, you
- 18:23know. Yeah.
- 18:24To partake it that experience. And what's interesting is how
- 18:28long actually translate into healing that's the actual word
- 18:34Ah, that's an I never knew that. I never really thought too much
- 18:38into it, but yeah, that okay, well, you know what's even more?
- 18:42Since it was really cool, is in the very beginning of the
- 18:47ritual, a lot of people were holding hands and that it's just
- 18:52the sense of community and tribe was very, very real thing and
- 18:57there was not one unpleasant person I came across, you know,
- 19:00everybody is a very mutual and Yeah, Common Ground.
- 19:05Very awesome place to be at Did you make any new friends over
- 19:10there? You know, like people that you
- 19:11still stay in touch with or was it just kind of yes, there with
- 19:14your people or yes, I did. I was actually there at the
- 19:18great friend of mine that I actually met on the, the fan
- 19:21page. Surely after I saw them in
- 19:24Chicago and she actually made the trip very, very comfortable.
- 19:30She took me to amazing side. So I know it's sense of pictures
- 19:33to you over and Idaho Springs. And then, you know, just Really
- 19:39show me the amazing sights, and the real beauty of it is
- 19:42Colorado because I've been a Colorado feel.
- 19:52I just went and I opened up a video, but that didn't mean to
- 19:57cut you off. I was clicking around.
- 19:58Sorry, no, you're fine, not very tragic, go ahead and say that
- 20:00one more time because of, oh, no worries.
- 20:02I'll play that again because if that's all right with you, it's
- 20:05one of your absolutely. It's a short clip.
- 20:07I don't want to like ruin it. Oh absolutely.
- 20:08Early on it, but you were saying so your friend was was there
- 20:12showing you all this great sites Idaho Springs?
- 20:15Yeah it really gave me enough. I've been to Colorado a few
- 20:18other times and those mainly just denver-based you know, the
- 20:21city. And just the pop seem that this
- 20:23trip was just all around the actual Majestic Beauty that is
- 20:27Colorado. You know, the mountains and just
- 20:29the scenery is absolutely stunning.
- 20:34Yeah, you go places like that, especially, I mean, at least for
- 20:36me, you know, and it may be different for folks listening
- 20:39and watching that or in, you know, native to areas like that.
- 20:42Like, I know people out on the west coast and that live in very
- 20:45rugged and mountainous terrains and even on the east coast, and
- 20:50it's kind of like, oh, you know, they I guess for somebody like
- 20:53me or maybe even you that's you know, used to the low, the
- 20:57scenery that we're used to you go places like that, it's just
- 20:59gets a it is it's a spiritual experience.
- 21:02At least, you know, being in. Kind of, I don't know.
- 21:07It's like the, the mountains and the the terrain, everything.
- 21:11It's a good took, a different sort of energy energy.
- 21:15Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:17Very good probables. Well because I remember all I
- 21:20came to a point where I was at an elevation of.
- 21:23I think it was 12,000 feet and the air was thinner and just,
- 21:28you could feel. The difference is, is, I'm at a
- 21:32loss occurs to describe it. Yeah.
- 21:33Exactly. Yes.
- 21:34Quite was really good. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:37Those are those above sea level elevations when you that high?
- 21:41Like, when you're that high, you're that high.
- 21:43But not. Oh yeah.
- 21:44Actually do it. Yo, man.
- 21:48But check out. So this was a this video that I
- 21:50came across on your, on your thing.
- 21:54I think we're about to listen to right now.
- 21:58Well, let's just listen to it because here it is.
- 22:23And that's like I've listened to that song so many times.
- 22:27What's the name of that song? It's if they're singing like all
- 22:30here. Yeah I'll volunteer.
- 22:32And it's literally all the names of Odin Rhian being chanted or
- 22:38gold or whatever recited. It's like I've heard that song
- 22:41so many times. It's one of my favorites but
- 22:42like seeing you know anybody really just like captured in
- 22:46real-time. Like they are so into it you got
- 22:48this guy in the background and he's just like wailing on this
- 22:51massive drum. Then you got, you know, the
- 22:53circle that the cast or whatever is they're all dressed the
- 22:59daily. They did it just look like they
- 23:00walked out of the teutoburg Forest man, like they're about
- 23:02ready to like Massacre, some Romans or something like that,
- 23:06work is so epic. And like people in the crowd
- 23:11that I can see, like you're just, you can't you you were
- 23:13scanning them by whatever. There's this one person and
- 23:16she's just like, losing her mind.
- 23:17She's all about their hands jumping around.
- 23:20I mean, like getting into it and I, how come Fiving very well.
- 23:23Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:25I just like, how do you not? Like I don't know like how you
- 23:39can. Just how that doesn't like the
- 23:41Beats of everything. Just can't stand still.
- 23:44Yeah, yeah, I've kicked myself for not going out to that but
- 23:50hopefully they come back and, you know, I know some other
- 23:54really awesome performances are coming to the state side coming
- 24:00up this year. Next next year.
- 24:02Yeah, I know where the Runa is coming to the states.
- 24:08I know some people who are going to, I think you're actually
- 24:10going to the Chicago. That's right.
- 24:12Or one of those is a Chicago, Chicago?
- 24:15Yeah. I know somebody else who's going
- 24:17up to the Boston performance. And I'm like, You know, which
- 24:23one should I go to maybe? Or which one do I think about
- 24:25going to? But I'm like, so I'm terrible.
- 24:27When it comes to making plans that far off in advance because
- 24:31it's like, literally like this time next year or October of
- 24:33next year or something somewhere in like the late some October.
- 24:36Yeah and I'm just like But if you don't know it's like if you
- 24:41don't do anything now then you run the risk of it's selling out
- 24:44because they usually do, you know.
- 24:47Yeah. But that usually sells out and I
- 24:48don't know I think hi long sold out a number there because
- 24:53they'd only have like select locations that they went to this
- 24:56time around. I don't think they had a lot of
- 24:59Speight places that they went, did the hell.
- 25:02Obviously if I'm not mistaken on when they came to the state's
- 25:06this time around, it was just Colorado and that's it.
- 25:10Okay? I thought it might have been one
- 25:11other but now that's, that's even more.
- 25:13So like, how do you take not take advantage of that?
- 25:16You know, when you know the venue is absolutely perfect.
- 25:20As I mentioned is just, you know, the scenery and the
- 25:24elevation and the weather is absolutely perfect.
- 25:26I mean it was like 70, 60 degrees Clear, Blue Sky and just
- 25:32and when the the performance has taken place, you smelled this
- 25:35job, Palo, Santo, and Sage mixture.
- 25:38And this is incredible. So yeah like all of this stuff
- 25:43that you see burning on like the smoke and what and I like, it's
- 25:46not just fog machines that are known ex exactly.
- 25:50Yeah. Oh man, what's the?
- 25:52Let's see. There's another
- 26:24I think Haka or whatever, like, the Australian or are the Maori
- 26:30say Australian to Polynesia, Maori tribes and stuff.
- 26:33They do these ritual War dances, you know, where they, they
- 26:39distort, their faces to look fearsome and they, you know, but
- 26:45they have different meanings for different things, I guess.
- 26:47But that's, that's what that reminds of their likes, their
- 26:49Dykes pounding, the Spears on the, on the stage and just
- 26:54Getting into a for battle. Yeah, I know.
- 26:56I don't even, you know, like, if it were me and I was like, if I
- 27:00was there at the Red Rock location for me, it'd be like,
- 27:04if they did come back, and they did a performance anywhere,
- 27:07other than an outdoor venue in a place like that, it'd be almost
- 27:11like, how do you top that, you know, like, how do you go from
- 27:14inside of a, an auditorium or or, you know, somewhere like an
- 27:21arena? Yeah.
- 27:23How do you, how do you, how do you Go from there and then go to
- 27:26Red Rock, or an outdoor venue like that with nature and
- 27:28everything around you, where you just, you know, capturing all
- 27:31that in. Plus the ritual and like, how do
- 27:33you go from that to back to like an indoor event or an indoor
- 27:37arena to we'd almost be like you.
- 27:38Now we got to get, we got one up that one you know.
- 27:40Like have we figured out how to play music underwater yet.
- 27:43You know, we figured out how to play music in outer space.
- 27:46So whatever, you know like how do you top this top and
- 27:49interesting thing that occurred at their virtual is all So what
- 27:54point I'm the sound actually went out.
- 27:58Ferrara and extended period of time.
- 28:01Oh, at this one or yeah, that's good, proper locks.
- 28:04Oh wow. So what happened though is what
- 28:07was really cool is the sound stopped because I personally
- 28:11thought the energy was so strong and intense that the south is
- 28:15couldn't handle it. But soon after that happened,
- 28:20they kept playing. And they kept going and
- 28:22everybody just started clapping their hands.
- 28:24It's just you know, kept the vibe going.
- 28:26You know, we didn't want Stop and there's some mixed opinions
- 28:31and thoughts on the out the fan page.
- 28:34So people were like, you know, the ungrateful people are
- 28:36saying, well, I wish they would have stopped it and fixed it or
- 28:39no Mike no, you don't stop a virtual.
- 28:42You continue it and you keep it going until it's finished.
- 28:44You don't, you know, they already made so many sacrifices
- 28:48to make that, you know, performance possible as well.
- 28:51Aquino, to remember, is I've done some research on that
- 28:55incident, it wasn't High logs, all at all is It's just the
- 28:58people who are in charge of the sound, if you have to place a
- 29:01fault, but I'm not once early cast stones or anything.
- 29:05Oh, yeah. Well, you know, look like that
- 29:08that stuff happens even to the best, you know what I mean?
- 29:13Just, you know, soundboards, go out or, you know, things I've
- 29:17been to plenty of shows where, you know, the production fails
- 29:21or whatever. I remember going to a couple of
- 29:23shows and they were smaller, local shows but it was, it was
- 29:27an Their venue and the wiring or whatever.
- 29:30Like literally the band blew the whole building electricity out
- 29:37like around lights. There was no sound, it was like
- 29:41for a minute like we were just all like stuck in the darkness
- 29:43and I'm like, you guys are awesome and like, you know, this
- 29:47whole place to the ground. So, you know, I guess you could
- 29:49take it a couple of ways. I let you the instant, you know.
- 29:53But for something like this man, I think like, I think of it is
- 29:58like like you were saying, you know, the ritual is already
- 30:00underway and in real time or in real life like, Rituals don't
- 30:06always, you know, there's gonna be hiccups that go along the
- 30:10way, but the purpose behind it. The reason why you're doing it
- 30:13is what matters, not that every eye needs to be dotted or every
- 30:17team needs to be crossed or all your Ducks.
- 30:19Need to be in a row. Like sometimes, there's just
- 30:21things that happen for the reason for a reason at the time
- 30:24that it happens. And it's if it's out of your
- 30:26control and there's maybe something bigger at play or
- 30:31exactly. You could argue that, you know.
- 30:35So I was like, Yeah, I've met your mom.
- 30:39I thought about little hiccup was actually an opportunity to
- 30:43really, you know, see that tribe mentality where we just, we just
- 30:49kept telling him, keep going, keep going, you know?
- 30:52And they did and it was really cool though.
- 30:55As you can still hear those drums that intense just beating.
- 31:00And that's something I couldn't get over.
- 31:02I mean, a time, I watch those videos that I recorded or At
- 31:05those pictures that just and all of that entire experience.
- 31:09Yeah. And I feel that's probably a lot
- 31:11to do with the, the actual venue, you know, and how the
- 31:14sound carries across the canyon and across the rocks and things
- 31:20like that. Because I don't know if you've
- 31:22ever been in places that are just naturally great for
- 31:27carrying sound naturally, acoustic acoustic.
- 31:29Yeah, whether it be like a Limestone Ridge or, you know, a
- 31:34rock face. Or something.
- 31:36And it's like sound is captured and Care like captured and
- 31:40contained in a spin in a certain way and it carries in a certain
- 31:42way and that natural acoustic part of nature.
- 31:50Like are my tribes, they are Sacred.
- 31:53Space is literally on the front of the Limestone wall and the
- 31:56side of a mountain, you know, so it's like Limestone shelves.
- 31:59You can't dig more than just a few inches into the dirt before
- 32:02you hit rock and and so, you know, that our Sacred Space is
- 32:09kind of at like the base of that Limestone shelf and you're out
- 32:15there and you're talking like you can you can You can holler,
- 32:19you can scream. You can say certain things but
- 32:21it sounds like it's, it carries so far like you can hear people
- 32:26from the house, you know, way far away.
- 32:29You know, just shouting out there.
- 32:32Hey, you guys doing and it like, it sounds like they're like
- 32:34right in front of you almost because of the way that it
- 32:36echoes and bounces off of those Limestone.
- 32:39So I'm, you know, not being there and in Colorado, I'm sure
- 32:43that again that the venue helped with the way the sound was, was,
- 32:49was shared carried and yeah, there it around, you know?
- 32:54But that's why we're really I was gonna say, I've been really
- 32:58curious to hear what it sounded like at a distance, like further
- 33:02down the road or something like that.
- 33:04Just yeah, you know, imagine if you were just like this, I don't
- 33:09know. I think there's like some people
- 33:11that just like live out in the desert, or live out in the
- 33:13canyons, you know, because they want to, they just live off the
- 33:17grid. You imagine just would be in
- 33:18like, you know, 5 10 miles away and then the sounds bouncing off
- 33:22all these are and you hear these like What?
- 33:24Sound like ancient drums, you know, just beating away and you
- 33:27hear it. Kind of distance and you live
- 33:29back. Absolutely.
- 33:30No idea what's going on because you're out of touch with Society
- 33:33to the point where he didn't realize that there's like a
- 33:34concert happening. But you hear like drums and
- 33:38you're like, man, it's finally happening.
- 33:39They're coming to get me. That would happen.
- 33:45I'd be like shit. Take me away man.
- 33:47Take me home. But I like that, the, I like
- 33:52that you were, you know, Observant of the fact that, you
- 33:55know, just because it didn't go off perfectly right?
- 33:58Just because but it was perfect in its way like exactly found
- 34:02glitches and stuff like that didn't matter for the overall
- 34:06ritual experience. It was just like a, you know, a
- 34:09little hiccup or a little technicality, but it made it
- 34:11that much more. Because guess what?
- 34:13That something like that probably wouldn't happen
- 34:15anywhere else or like that again.
- 34:16So, it was an experience that you were part of and everybody
- 34:19else that was there was a part of it and it made it special.
- 34:22And you know, Kind of tying your weird with the band or with the,
- 34:26with the people at that point with each other, you know.
- 34:28Because you're really all they're just kind of
- 34:32Experiencing the same thing but in your own different ways.
- 34:37You know how you're absorbing actually vibrating with it all I
- 34:41guess. And that's what ritual is man.
- 34:45I think I like sets what I've experienced, you know, like my
- 34:47experience that ritual is going to be Probably a bit different
- 34:52than the person beside me or the person beside them.
- 34:57We're not all interesting. And says, she, in fact, I
- 35:00mentioned that as I told you before, is the first video I saw
- 35:04of you, you're explaining, you know, see how the performance of
- 35:08ritual and, you know, the steps and now everybody doesn't
- 35:11differently. But the way you carried years
- 35:14out, we do as beautiful as perfect.
- 35:17Yeah, the was I think it was maybe the how to perform a basic
- 35:21Heathen ritual video like that's right.
- 35:24Was that? Yeah, that one's got a lot of
- 35:26hits like that. One's got a lot of use if
- 35:27anybody's watching listening. Now whatever, I'll link it to
- 35:31the show. Notes are in the description
- 35:34stuff. You guys can check it out too
- 35:35but bear in mind, right? Like that video came out a
- 35:38couple years ago. Few years ago, maybe now at this
- 35:40point I was intended to just be kind of like a crash course
- 35:45introduction. Auction of some things you could
- 35:47do, if you're new to Heathen or you're new to this type of
- 35:53religion and how to be religious about it, how to do a ritual.
- 35:58And, but I say, you know, bear in mind that it was then some
- 36:01years ago because, you know, I've grown a bit and I'm always
- 36:05like looking at some of my stuff and I'm like, maybe I want to
- 36:07revisit that or do like a, you know, a version 2 of that video
- 36:12or revisit some things because I don't go back and look at my old
- 36:15stuff. very often, but my world view has changed a lot on a lot
- 36:20of things and I think it might be worth revisiting, but the
- 36:24point of that, what I'm trying to say, I guess is like, if you
- 36:26go back and you watch that video, you say, oh, you know,
- 36:29I'm going to do what Jesse is suggesting right?
- 36:32Or I'm going to follow it. That those steps, you know?
- 36:38Yeah, that's a tutorial. Yeah, exactly.
- 36:40I'm going to Liz don't follow the tutorial, right?
- 36:43I guess. You know for anybody that's
- 36:45catching it now new or going back to watch it.
- 36:47It's like that's all great but you know of that, if you want to
- 36:50use that basis to start with, but have a purpose yourself and
- 36:55it doesn't really matter. The way you carry it out.
- 37:01Obviously, some of the things that I talked about in that
- 37:03video are based on Traditions that have that are very old.
- 37:09So with reconstructing, an old religion, you know, a lot of
- 37:15what people like myself do is to find the old way and find the
- 37:19way that it was done, that was proven to have worked for the
- 37:23people at that time and recreator reconstructed to exist
- 37:27in modern times. So part of part of all that is,
- 37:30you know, the The practicality of of incorporating, some of
- 37:37those things. And when I say practicality, I
- 37:39mean, like, you know, is it practical for you and your
- 37:42people to go out and literally use blood for your rituals?
- 37:47You know, where that was a commonplace thing.
- 37:50Yeah. You know and then when the
- 37:52meaning of bloat and sacrifice and what it all meant, you know,
- 37:54is it practical? Does it mean anything?
- 37:56The purpose back then was to was very specific.
- 37:59It was the purpose was where, where it's at.
- 38:02And a couple of podcasts ago when I had JM all of sin on
- 38:07here. That's what we one of the things
- 38:09we talked about was, you know, what you would?
- 38:11What is your intention on doing things?
- 38:13And then, what is your purpose of doing things?
- 38:16You know, your intention could be, you know, why I want to
- 38:20learn how to do this rich? I want to be this, you know, I
- 38:22want to carry this position or this role with my, with my tribe
- 38:25or whatever, but the purpose behind what you're doing is too.
- 38:32You know Perry out what you wish to do, exactly whatever the
- 38:36purpose is. And that's that's what I'm
- 38:38trying to say is like all of the mechanics behind.
- 38:41It can be what they are, but they could be seized the snake
- 38:45at your own, and that's something that I hope it a man
- 38:48catch off or anything. No, no, please.
- 38:49This is something I've learned over all the years of following
- 38:54your channel as well as myself. And you know what I could gather
- 38:58is, you know, purpose and intention.
- 39:01It's absolutely Paramount to you know, what you're performing and
- 39:07what's beautiful is, you know, I mentioned you a few times in our
- 39:10experiences. I told you about is, you know,
- 39:13all certain ritual and it seemed like, okay this is like alright
- 39:17mediocre I guess. But then something will happen
- 39:20that reverberates and carries out and Des Services, my
- 39:24intentions and something, you know, truly special, and awesome
- 39:28happens. And it's just, that's when, you
- 39:30know, you did something. Correct.
- 39:32And not every time it's going to be a hit.
- 39:34I mean, not every times going to, you know, hit your mark but
- 39:37you know, back to, you know, purpose and intentions and just
- 39:40practicality and now how can you apply this to your your daily
- 39:44life, your daily practice and you know how you go about, you
- 39:47know, developing yourself and this path and what you choose to
- 39:50do. Exactly, you know your path is
- 39:55going to be. I think one of the things that
- 39:57we talked about on that, on that podcast that I have with jme
- 40:03that episode couple weeks ago, was, you know this this path
- 40:08that everybody says if they're on.
- 40:09Right. There's two and over the years.
- 40:15I've come to realize like it's not just a path that were drug.
- 40:19Like we're traveling a road together.
- 40:21It's like Path. But, you know, I'm going to take
- 40:23this exit in. You're going to take the next
- 40:24one. Are you going to take the one
- 40:25before me? You're going to go off on the
- 40:27branches of that tree in a little bit of a different way
- 40:31than the next person. So it's, you know, we may not
- 40:35even be in the same vicinity when we say, you know, while I'm
- 40:37following this path and we're all following this path.
- 40:40It's like, I could be, I could be on a totally different Goat
- 40:43Trail than you are. You know, exactly that some of
- 40:47the, some of the similarities, some of the things obviously
- 40:49will have You know, we that we can compare and find a, you
- 40:55know, relation with, you know, the gods, some of the
- 40:59fundamentals, you know, stuff like that.
- 41:01But ultimately, you know, I think in this is an interesting
- 41:08point. I don't know what you think
- 41:09about this. But I was talking to a guy last
- 41:11week from last week's podcast, James Davey, and he, and his
- 41:15experience, and Heath, Andre has been, has been a fetish beliefs
- 41:21of anglo-saxon approach to things.
- 41:23And, interestingly, what I come to learn is, is like It's not so
- 41:28much this overarching religion, that everyone's following.
- 41:33It's the religion that becomes what it is because of the
- 41:37traditions and practices, that one's tribe develops.
- 41:44And so, basically what it boils down to is like My try becomes
- 41:49my religion, your tribe becomes your religion.
- 41:53And yes, there's going to be some similarities and some new,
- 41:55you know, nuances of things that are familiar to each other.
- 42:01But ultimately, the way that I Heathen in the way that, you
- 42:03know, our tribe, he tends is not going to be the same.
- 42:05Exactly the same as the way you and your tribe or his and his
- 42:09tribe or her and her tribe, do it.
- 42:11Everyone's going to do a slight variation or slight twist and
- 42:15it's light but that's what makes it so special.
- 42:18That's really where I feel even re is, should be going in the
- 42:22direction. It should be going is like don't
- 42:24worry about so much the way you know the icelanders did it or
- 42:27the Norwegians did it or the Danes did it or the swedes.
- 42:30Yeah. Yeah.
- 42:31Start there you can, you know you can pull from your sources
- 42:35and getting get inspiration on how to do it but like man make
- 42:39it the way Patrick and in does it or they'll make it the way
- 42:42that you know his tribe does it and then my tribe or whoever you
- 42:46know like that's the way it we. Do it here.
- 42:48And now for the purpose that that we're seeking to fulfill
- 42:52achieve, there's a purpose behind it.
- 42:54Why are we doing it the way we're doing?
- 42:55There's, it's more about the why than it is the I guess the
- 42:59semantics of it all, you know, or the probably just it's of it.
- 43:02All I think it's important to, you know, it's this thought this
- 43:06reoccurring in my mind is to make it your own to make it you
- 43:10know, something that, you know, you can embody and carry out and
- 43:14we all I like to think we come from a similar route but we Is
- 43:18take different branches and different Pathways as you
- 43:21mentioned, but overall, you know, come to the same
- 43:24destination. And that's honoring our
- 43:27ancestors that are gods and you know, our land whites and it's
- 43:31here, it's just something, you know, it's all about what I
- 43:35mentioned earlier is the purpose and intentions but yeah.
- 43:40Yeah. And why do we do that?
- 43:41You know, like we know why our ancient ancestors, did it the
- 43:44way they did it is because you know if they didn't it was you
- 43:47know, They would survive. Yeah, you know they did things
- 43:51the way they did it because their lives depended on it and
- 43:56while a lot of us don't live, you know, that Homesteader
- 44:00lifestyle where, you know, living off the land and stuff is
- 44:02a is is more closer to the way. Our ancient ancestors did it.
- 44:07But, you know, there's, there's there's some people that do it
- 44:09that way and then there's a lot of us most most people have, you
- 44:12know, a much more integrated lifestyle into, you know.
- 44:18Diet e and modern conveniences and things.
- 44:20So everybody's going to do things a little bit differently,
- 44:24but that doesn't make it wrong and it doesn't mean that it's
- 44:27incorrect. It's if it works for you and
- 44:30you've had success in the way, you do things and the way you
- 44:33execute things then really, who is anyone else to say that
- 44:37you're wrong, and doing it, because Just because they don't
- 44:41do it that way. They may do something in a
- 44:43different way and they've had success doing it their way.
- 44:46Well great keep on doing you then do it.
- 44:49Also provides it also provides an opportunity to, you know,
- 44:54learn and maybe apply something that they could possibly change
- 44:59the way you do things in the best possible way.
- 45:01They just make you question any now become a better he than a
- 45:05better person. This is what, you know, choose
- 45:07to know. Apply and learn.
- 45:09Yeah. Yeah, man.
- 45:11Like I was talking to some people, this is weeks ago about.
- 45:18Gosh, what was it it was a we're talking about like animal
- 45:21totems, you know, and which is what, you know, we see this in a
- 45:27lot of different cultures but like somebody was asking, you
- 45:30know, like what is your, what do you think your animal totem is?
- 45:33And why, you know what I mean? And what animal do you feel the
- 45:38most? not similar to but like feel
- 45:43most connected with you know, And and, and one of the people
- 45:49in the chat that was that was responding.
- 45:55Said that the bore wild boars was an important animal for
- 46:03them, but they didn't really elaborate as to why.
- 46:06And I knew a little bit about this individual and I thought
- 46:09about it and I said, he probably has something to do with the,
- 46:14the sacred inherent sacredness of bores in Germanic.
- 46:18Culture and, you know, the whole Frazer and Gould and bursty and
- 46:23you know, all that kind of stuff.
- 46:26And I said I would if I were to guess that's probably why it
- 46:30means something to to this to this gentleman, right?
- 46:33And the response I got was yeah, that makes sense that you'd
- 46:35think that way, but it actually has more to do with the fact
- 46:38that this man has hunted wild boars and has sustained injury
- 46:42from these animals, while hunting them and has has built a
- 46:46very tangible. Double relationship in the
- 46:49realest of census. I mean, being face-to-face with
- 46:53an animal that will literally tear you limb from limb.
- 46:56And having to survive in the face of this, this Beast, you
- 47:00know, and, and stuff like that. It's like, that's why the
- 47:03enemies like he's I've got scars from attacks that I've you know
- 47:09endured from these animals and stuff on my legs or wherever and
- 47:12I'm like Oh okay, so this is more like real life stuff.
- 47:16This is visited, this isn't more about the, you know, the the woo
- 47:19type stuff which there is somewhere that some of that bowl
- 47:22applies, he's like, but really the reason why I feel so
- 47:26quote-unquote connected or related to, you know, in that
- 47:29sort of way or that this animal speaks to me more so than
- 47:32anything is because I've literally, you know, How to
- 47:37survive. They've tried to survive against
- 47:38me. I've tried to survive against
- 47:40them. We have that, Mutual Life Bond,
- 47:45kind of thing. I'm like, wow, that's more
- 47:47simplistic than anything. But it's deep when you think
- 47:51about it, it has a lot of meaning to it.
- 47:53And yeah, you know, it's like it's more than just, oh, I like
- 47:59crows and ravens and stuff because of Odin or I like, you
- 48:02know, goats because of Thor or any You know, those those
- 48:07correlations between animals and and deities, and how the there's
- 48:11sacred connections between those and things.
- 48:15And some of the Lord's like, you know, I You know, that's where a
- 48:22lot of people I think have a lot to learn, you know, it's like
- 48:26you don't just necessarily have to gravitate towards that thing
- 48:30or the other because it's what's in the story since what's in the
- 48:33lore, you know find it your own way and experience it yourself.
- 48:36You know I was I was talking to I was talking to my go these.
- 48:44So I was at dingoes house this past this past weekend and his
- 48:51daughter was there. She's like six, you-know-who and
- 48:56she was she was showing me some of these like art projects or
- 49:00things that she's made. She was showing me this like
- 49:02little flip book, illustration book.
- 49:06And she showed me this picture of an owl.
- 49:10And I said, where did you see this owl?
- 49:14You know, because like we're dingoes places it's an apartment
- 49:17complex, you know. So it's not very rural to say
- 49:21the least, there's trees around it but it's not, you know, like
- 49:26it's an apartment complex, just like a weird to see this out.
- 49:29Did you see it out at, you know, your Mammy and pawpaws or you
- 49:32know, where do you see it? And she just stops.
- 49:36And she looks at me dead in the eye and she points to her head
- 49:40and I That's awesome. If you say, I saw him up here, I
- 49:42saw him in my head and I looked at dinging any we start we start
- 49:46telling me, you know, the whole story line behind it and what
- 49:49you know this owl represents to her and how he's kind of been
- 49:54there for her and I'm like that's some real, that's some
- 49:58real heavy duty stuff man. You know Especial six-year-old,
- 50:02this is is teaching us about shamanistic, type Journeys and
- 50:06things that she's at and I'm like over here, you know, about
- 50:09to be 37 years. Years old and still sitting all
- 50:12this stuff. And she's over here, like
- 50:14teaching us a thing or two. That's just the innocence of a
- 50:17child than their minds are still soaking up everything.
- 50:20I just can't help it be admired. yep, and You know, wisdom is
- 50:29wisdom where wherever it comes from.
- 50:32So I'm never I'm never shying away from an experience with
- 50:39that someone may have. And that like you were saying
- 50:40earlier of the things that we can learn from each other, you
- 50:44know, just because they haven't, you know, been on the world for
- 50:47decades, you know, living life and experiencing things doesn't
- 50:50mean that they can't teach you something.
- 50:51And you know, like I said this, this this child who's, you know,
- 50:5530 years younger than me Is. Showing me things and giving me
- 51:01things to think about from experiences that she's had and I
- 51:07hadn't heard the conversation. But he was telling me about a
- 51:11the way that she was explaining something to him.
- 51:14You know, dangos daughter was explaining something to him
- 51:17about string theory. Huh, I'm like she's six.
- 51:22What does she know about String Theory?
- 51:24You know, and he goes, yeah, well she doesn't call it that
- 51:27she calls them love tubes or something like that.
- 51:31And I was like, are you freaking kidding me, bro.
- 51:33Like are you freaking kidding me right now?
- 51:35Like just get out here yet. This is a very, very I mean just
- 51:39and listening to her talk and sometimes I just I stop and I
- 51:42look at him and I go You know, you just smile shakes his head,
- 51:47he's like she's you know, the our little, you know, like the
- 51:51Bulova of old, you know, like even though like that was a very
- 51:54specific thing at the time and in The Villages there was, you
- 51:58know? But I mean hey she's got
- 52:01something about her man. Like, you know, give it.
- 52:03Give it time and give it the right amount of nurturing.
- 52:08The way she sees things. And then, you know, because a
- 52:10lot of times what happens is as we get older, we To lose touch
- 52:15with that side of ourselves, I think.
- 52:17Yeah. And I'm hoping that, you know,
- 52:19over the years you know, and she's she's been, she's been
- 52:22part of our tribe rituals. I mean she's as much part of the
- 52:27tribe as as you know another one of us, you know what I mean?
- 52:32Even though she's as young as she is, she's been there at
- 52:35ritual, you know, she's she has her little wand and stuff that
- 52:41Dingo made her carved out of Cedar and stuff.
- 52:44Is she whatever she's doing? You know, she's she's just
- 52:47standing there, holding it up to the sky or waving it around.
- 52:51It's like there's purpose behind what she's doing.
- 52:53She knows what that purpose is. You know, if I do it, I'm gonna
- 52:56look like an idiot because it's not the same.
- 52:59It doesn't mean the same thing. For me.
- 53:00It goes back to what we were talking about, the whole purpose
- 53:02thing. You know, there's purpose behind
- 53:04what she's doing, she knows what she's doing.
- 53:08And that's what matters, you know, what you're doing.
- 53:11You know what the purpose behind what you're doing is really, who
- 53:14cares what it looks like at the moment.
- 53:15It's it doesn't have to be understood to be appreciated.
- 53:19It's a lot like lyrics to, you know, high low.
- 53:22For example, is what they have like to do is send you a link to
- 53:26an amazing excellent video that it's titled, Highline ritual,
- 53:31their music. And, you know, I have my ways of
- 53:34explaining it but this video hands down, you know.
- 53:37Is Michael to, to explain how the people, you know, the real
- 53:42purpose and you know what, they really stand for.
- 53:45And yeah, yeah send it, send it to me because by the time this
- 53:49airs I'll have it. You know you guys let her listen
- 53:51and watch and stuff by the time this airs I'll put it down in
- 53:55the show notes description and stuff.
- 53:57Guys, check it out because um I mean I am not multilingual.
- 54:01I don't speak, you know, proto-germanic the stuff that a
- 54:05lot of the album's songs are Okin in sung.
- 54:07In, I know a little bit of German that's about it, you
- 54:11know, trying to learn more of the like Old Norse and Old
- 54:14English and some of the other Germanic languages.
- 54:17But like, yeah, I'm by no means a bilingual or multilingual
- 54:20person but the music, the words you Velma can understand a say.
- 54:25It's just the feeling that to be felt and that's one thing.
- 54:28I am I learned from that video as falls from the yarra, the
- 54:32group is a lot of. It's meant to be obscure.
- 54:36It's more. Designed to be felt and
- 54:38experienced rather than you know, quoted work forward.
- 54:43You know, it's really the immerse into it and you know,
- 54:46enveloped into the ritual. I'd like that too because I
- 54:52think you know, the more that we get into the literary works for
- 54:57the would be the sagas and the editors and and stuff, you know,
- 55:00like a lot of the things that you read The style of writing or
- 55:05the style of speaking, you know, poetry the Cadence of it.
- 55:10All some of the Kennings that were used right way different
- 55:15than, you know, poetry like other aliens.
- 55:19They just, you know, Shakespearean, poetry or any of
- 55:22the unlike other more popular ones and stuff.
- 55:24It's like, it just has a different feel to it.
- 55:27All has a different approach to it, not similar and then those
- 55:32ways. And like, I think, I think it's
- 55:33me, More to be felt then than anything else.
- 55:39I think there's there's, there's something to be said to that.
- 55:41They are the feeling behind it. All Exactly.
- 55:46But yeah, speaking of feeling Coming up after.
- 55:52So like after this is aired, coming into this coming weekend.
- 55:58I'm going to be on doing a camping trip.
- 55:59I was telling you a little bit about that offline and it's for
- 56:02the people that have listened and tune in to the podcast, over
- 56:05the last probably couple of months are probably gonna be
- 56:09like, oh yeah, finally. Because every time I talk about
- 56:12it on an episode next episode I come back on.
- 56:14I'm like yeah you know about that didn't work out but this is
- 56:19the this is the weekend this weekend is It's happened.
- 56:21And then after that I'll be heading out of town, out of
- 56:25state, meeting some people out in North Carolina.
- 56:31So for all of my North Carolina listeners and viewers and stuff.
- 56:36Be coming at you here in a, you know, you know, few days time
- 56:40really at this point, well, maybe meeting up with jme all
- 56:43listen, a couple other friends and, you know, it's mostly my
- 56:47wife's family that's out there. But yeah, talking about feeling
- 56:50this camping trip is going to be an interesting experience, has
- 56:55experience of all kinds of feelings.
- 56:58Not only in the physical sense because we're going to be
- 57:00literally, you know, sleeping outdoors, and it's going to be I
- 57:04think it in down into the freezing.
- 57:06Jurors at night, as of right now.
- 57:09If I'm looking at the forecast ahead, I think we're supposed to
- 57:12be, you know, only a highs in the 40s during the day and then
- 57:16lows below Thirty at night. So definitely feeling that.
- 57:22Then we're also going to be feeling a lot of other things to
- 57:25just, it's a spiritual camping trip.
- 57:30I'm really excited for you. Yeah well we're excited to I
- 57:33appreciate that. It's been something like I said
- 57:36that we've been trying to plan what we planned it several
- 57:39times. You know well we put a date you
- 57:42know the first date, I think the first date that we put to this
- 57:45whole thing like this is going back now.
- 57:46It's almost, you know, It's middle of November right now.
- 57:51Right. This are our initial plan was to
- 57:53do this back in September. And then it got moved to
- 57:58October. And now, here we are.
- 58:01So what they say, right? Third time's a charm.
- 58:04Yeah. And then even up to this point
- 58:08like we've been running into some, some things that was like
- 58:12potential roadblocks and we're like nope, lets you know, lope
- 58:16no more. Nope, none of that.
- 58:17None of this, you know, tomfoolery.
- 58:19Like no, no, no. We gotta we gotta see this
- 58:21through. We gotta, this is this is
- 58:23ordeal. This is this is a adversity, you
- 58:27know the thing that breeds worth you know, and I don't know man
- 58:33like With everything that's going on, you know, we talked
- 58:38early about the whole, you know, pandemic and the results of it
- 58:43and how much it's affected our lives.
- 58:45Like everybody that you talk to is either, experienced it
- 58:48themselves know, somebody who's experienced it, lost somebody do
- 58:53to it, you know, or due to complications of it.
- 58:56What not, you know, and getting away from the ridiculous
- 59:00political sides of it, just the humanity side of it, you know,
- 59:04going through stuff like this the way. we, you know, the world
- 59:07as it is right now and going through these experiences, man,
- 59:12it shapes you into More it Seasons, you the tempers you it
- 59:20it's like it you know, we're not we're not the same people that
- 59:22we were a year and a half ago by any means we were and and a lot
- 59:26of it has been due to the adversity and the ordeals that
- 59:31we've been given to to endure. And, you know, I'm sitting here
- 59:35talking with you again, you know, all these months later
- 59:38since the first episode. And, you know, all the years
- 59:41that you and I have stayed in touch online.
- 59:44I have yet to meet in person but you don't give it enough time.
- 59:47That'll happen again, you know, that will happen.
- 59:48One day I'm sure but absolutely where we were making it where
- 59:54we're surviving and everybody else listening and watching to,
- 59:59you know, you're all surviving and you're making it through in
- 1:00:01the ordeals that you're going through, you know, if you're
- 1:00:03listening to this and you're watching this.
- 1:00:06You're stronger now than you were before all that.
- 1:00:10It's what's helped shape you into the person that you are and
- 1:00:14never forget that and use those experiences to, you know, still
- 1:00:20feel right? You're still going to feel down,
- 1:00:22you're still going to have those days manage, you know.
- 1:00:25Things are just going to be real shitty some days.
- 1:00:28That's that's that's one thing that's not going to change.
- 1:00:30Like some days are just going to be.
- 1:00:33Just want it to be over. But it ain't over.
- 1:00:38You're still here, you still got things to do, we still got
- 1:00:41things to, to accomplish. We still have people's lives to
- 1:00:45touch. I think I couldn't agree more,
- 1:00:49you know, but so just keep it, keep up the good work, you know,
- 1:00:56I'm guys gals out there just keep doing what you do and then
- 1:01:01you know it's all right to feel it's okay to not be okay, you
- 1:01:04know, there's a been a lot of things you're going on lately in
- 1:01:08my life that just Make you put things into perspective, you
- 1:01:16know, it's not about the surface level stuff anymore, to me.
- 1:01:23And I think to a lot of us, you know, there's deeper meaning to
- 1:01:27life for all of us. And for a lot of us, at least, a
- 1:01:30lot of the people that I have regular exchanges in
- 1:01:34conversations and stuff with, so definitely I don't mean to
- 1:01:40interrupt again, I just stop. Please do I mean I tend to
- 1:01:43ramble on but that's what this is about, it's about rambling,
- 1:01:45Heather, it's something I saw personally is I'm sure a lot of
- 1:01:52us can relate to is, it is so very easy to get lost into the
- 1:01:58misfortunes and the setbacks and them the stripes.
- 1:02:02And the problems that we often lose sight of the things that
- 1:02:06keep us whole the things that bring us joy weather.
- 1:02:09The simplest things of food, we enjoy music.
- 1:02:11We listen to or the people we talked to, this is rather
- 1:02:16unfortunate. Sometimes if people who are
- 1:02:17around us all the time, we tend to just lose sight up unit, the
- 1:02:20right front of us as his psyche, something to this, it becomes,
- 1:02:26you know, superficial I guess. But um I did something I had to
- 1:02:31remind myself is this, you know, when it gets really chaotic and
- 1:02:35Troublesome I decide? Well, yeah I don't have this
- 1:02:38going on in my life. Life right now, this could be
- 1:02:40going better but you know what, you know I think back to when I
- 1:02:43first saw how long and Chicago and then in Colorado and just
- 1:02:49you know, me and the amazing people that I've had in between
- 1:02:52those events and being on this path.
- 1:02:55And just, you know, so many other things, you know.
- 1:02:59So sometimes I feel guilty for complaining, like, well, what do
- 1:03:02I have to complain about? I'm so healthy.
- 1:03:03I sold, you know, have a job. You know, I still have the
- 1:03:07amazing people in my life that Get me through these difficult
- 1:03:10times, but it's totally natural to, you know, lose sight of the
- 1:03:13things. It's just important to bring us
- 1:03:15back down to Our Roots again and then Branch out again to.
- 1:03:19He are respected destination and we're supposed to be.
- 1:03:23Yeah, man. Because it's about the journey,
- 1:03:26you know, and it's about everything that you experience
- 1:03:28along the way. It's about, you know, when you
- 1:03:31say all over the seas, you're going to have them ups and
- 1:03:33downs. You're going to run into those
- 1:03:36storms. You know what, also makes you
- 1:03:39appreciate those bad times, make you appreciate those, good times
- 1:03:42all the more, you know, I'll just get growing appreciation
- 1:03:46for those things. It's kind of like, you know,
- 1:03:48people who have their favorites on how Seasons.
- 1:03:51It's like, oh man, I cannot stand this heat and once winter
- 1:03:56comes around and fall comes around, it's like, oh yes.
- 1:03:58Here we go, just like distance makes the heart grow, fonder
- 1:04:02kind of thing. I'm definitely one of those
- 1:04:06people too. By the way, I can't stand the
- 1:04:07heat. So all of this, like, cool
- 1:04:10weather coming on like that's it's my time to shine baby, you
- 1:04:15know? Like that's that's my jam but
- 1:04:17no, you know, you're right. Because you, you and, you know,
- 1:04:20we're getting into that time of year where you know the days are
- 1:04:24are shorter. The nights are colder.
- 1:04:27We look Inward and we can see that's retrospective.
- 1:04:31You know, we, we focus not so much about what we're doing
- 1:04:34around. On for with everyone else but
- 1:04:35now it's oh you know, what do we do to take care of our own and
- 1:04:39take care of our hearts and homes and stuff and that's you
- 1:04:41know a bit of a traditional approach to things because
- 1:04:44that's how our ancient ancestors did it in the in the these times
- 1:04:47a year. As you know once winter nights
- 1:04:49came around, it was you know, hunker down and try not to die.
- 1:04:54Exactly, you know, we have a lot more, you know, amenities
- 1:04:58nowadays, that help us do that. But the principle, I think the
- 1:05:02thoughts the the The fundamentals of it are still
- 1:05:07there. The lessons are there?
- 1:05:08Yeah, exactly. But yeah, man, this was, this
- 1:05:13was a lot of fun. I think, I think we'll go ahead
- 1:05:16and tie this one off for the, for the, for the episode, at
- 1:05:19least, you know, for sure because Yeah, man.
- 1:05:25I think I think that really helped a lot of people just on a
- 1:05:28get an experience and I think, you know, I think the next hilum
- 1:05:32date that comes around. I'm really going to try to Just
- 1:05:35bite the bullet and say owner, you know, foot lifts a year, two
- 1:05:38years, whatever in advance. And be like, I think I'm just
- 1:05:40going to get the damn tickets man.
- 1:05:41Just buy the damn tickets stands.
- 1:05:44It's definitely worth it. And, you know, each time I've
- 1:05:48gone it still weighs, its, you know, altered and help my lights
- 1:05:52and significantly. But, um, yeah, and I'm sure that
- 1:05:55whatever the one is that, you know, you'll figure out
- 1:05:58whichever one you're going to tell my, I'm gonna go that one.
- 1:06:00We're going to know me and Patrick.
- 1:06:01We're gonna rock out to Highland for a night or whatever.
