- 0:16Speaker 2: Now, apparently, Warriors merchandise is just flying out the door
- 0:20Speaker 2: at the moment. Our producer's wife went to the official store.
- 0:22Speaker 2: It was jam-packed with people picking up jerseys for what
- 0:25Speaker 2: I think is a reasonable $ 60 a pop. Marketing and
- 0:28Speaker 2: commercial chief at the Warriors, Glenn Harris.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Is with us. Hey, Glenn.
- 0:32Speaker 3: G'day, Heather. Happy game week.
- 0:34Speaker 2: And to you, mate. Fizzing already. Is this the best
- 0:37Speaker 2: year for the merch yet?
- 0:39Speaker 3: Look, it is. I mean, it's probably the best year
- 0:42Speaker 3: across a lot of different commercial drivers of the club.
- 0:44Speaker 3: But I guess merchandise is probably the one that's most
- 0:47Speaker 3: visible because everyone feels a sense of connection and togetherness.
- 0:52Speaker 3: And the best way to express that is obviously what
- 0:54Speaker 3: they wear and bring along to the game.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Now, are you selling amazingly just in Auckland or is
- 1:00Speaker 2: it everywhere?
- 1:02Speaker 3: No, look, it's everywhere. I mean, we took a punt
- 1:04Speaker 3: on our brand this year and set up pop-up stores
- 1:08Speaker 3: in Australia and Wellington and Christchurch, and it's been the
- 1:11Speaker 3: same response everywhere. You know, such huge support, which is
- 1:14Speaker 3: actually quite overwhelming to see people in huge numbers wanting
- 1:18Speaker 3: to wear our colours and represent our brand. So everywhere
- 1:21Speaker 3: we go, people are in merch, and even if they
- 1:24Speaker 3: have merch, they want to get more merch.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Now, I heard that the minute that you guys put
- 1:27Speaker 2: out a new jersey, it basically sells out. Is that
- 1:29Speaker 2: what's going on?
- 1:31Speaker 3: Yeah, pretty much. It's not a number of minutes it
- 1:33Speaker 3: hangs around for now. It's gone quite quickly, but I
- 1:37Speaker 3: just think we've got such a passionate fan base, always have,
- 1:40Speaker 3: but now they're coming in huge numbers, which means that
- 1:43Speaker 3: we have to work pretty hard to stay ahead of
- 1:45Speaker 3: the demand.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Now, it's National Wear Your Wars Day tomorrow. Which one
- 1:50Speaker 2: are you wearing?
- 1:52Speaker 3: I'll probably cycle through them each hour. I'll try a
- 1:55Speaker 3: different one. Look, I've got so many. I mean, you
- 1:58Speaker 3: can't beat some of the 95s, but this week we've
- 2:01Speaker 3: got a special edition finals tee for the game this Saturday.
- 2:03Speaker 3: So we're all going to be rocking that tomorrow.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Is that the $ 60 one? That is reasonably priced, isn't it, Glenn?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Well, I think so. And, you know, you have to
- 2:13Speaker 3: be sensible these days with your value proposition. And we
- 2:16Speaker 3: try from whether it's ticket pricing to food and beverage
- 2:20Speaker 3: in the venue, we try and keep everything as accessible
- 2:23Speaker 3: as we can because we just want as many people
- 2:25Speaker 3: in the stadium wearing our gear and having as much
- 2:28Speaker 3: fun as possible. So the key to that is just
- 2:31Speaker 3: making everything really affordable.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yeah, brilliant. Hey, good on you, Glenn, and have a
- 2:34Speaker 2: lovely week. That's Glenn Harris, who is the Warriors marketing man.
