Desjardins Hacker Caught in Mexico | Toronto News
Mexican authorities, with Canadian help, have arrested Maxime Paquette, a 40-year-old Quebecer on the run since June 2023, in Cancún. Wanted for fraud, identity theft, and trafficking stolen Desjardins data from the 2019 breach affecting nearly 10 million Canadians, Paquette allegedly used the compromised info between June 27–30, 2021, selling it—including on the dark web.
